00:00:00.000 I am going to be covering my time on Pierce Morgan. So, you know, the last couple of months,
00:00:06.360 you know, we had a lot of drama at JPT. We had a lot of people saying that it was just over for me
00:00:14.720 and I was just going to cry back to Chicago. I've seen a lot of things. So I was just crying by
00:00:21.740 myself and the Pierce Morgan team said to come back on the show. So I was excited because last
00:00:29.160 time they just gave me such an easy layup that I was like, I would love to come back, bring me back.
00:00:35.780 They told me I was going to come on to talk about equal pay in women's sports. So I couldn't wait
00:00:41.640 being that I played semi-pro volleyball and I was actually, before YouTube took off, I was going to
00:00:49.980 go play pro in, I don't know, I think it was going to do Portugal or something. I don't even remember,
00:00:54.820 but, but I was going to go play pro. YouTube took off. I ended up not doing it. And, you know,
00:01:00.940 I was just crying about how unfair it was because we just didn't get paid enough. I did play for 16
00:01:06.020 years. So, you know, I just was crying and so sad that about the pay and I was just blaming the men.
00:01:14.680 So I was like, let me come on and talk about how I'm just such a freaking victim and it's so horrible.
00:01:21.560 So let's play the clip of me going on. This issue of women's rights to be paid the same as men 1.00
00:01:27.500 in sport. Now, the Australian women's football team have criticized the pay gap in the upcoming
00:01:33.320 World Cup prize money. Let's take a look at what they said as a team.
00:01:38.600 736 footballers had the honor of representing their country on the world's biggest stage this
00:01:43.620 tournament. Yeah, many are still denied the basic right to organize and collectively bargain.
00:01:48.200 Collective bargaining has allowed us to ensure we now get the same conditions as the Socceroos
00:01:52.900 with one exception. FIFA will still only offer women one quarter as much prize money as men
00:01:58.640 for the same achievement. Well, okay. This is an interesting poll because if you look at the
00:02:03.480 revenue, for example, in 2019, FIFA generated 586 million pounds in total revenue. The men's
00:02:12.600 for the 2019-22 cycle, 5.8 billion record revenue through the men's World Cup. So the women's game
00:02:21.120 has come on in leaps and bounds. The English lionesses, fantastic win, sell out crowds. They're making a lot
00:02:28.020 more money. They're definitely way, way further now towards where the men are commercially than they were, 0.57
00:02:33.340 but they're still a way off. And when you saw at Wimbledon, for example, the men's final was watched by
00:02:38.080 three times as many people, and yet they were both free to wear on the BBC. You could watch both if
00:02:43.440 you wanted to. So there was three times as much interest in the men's game. They play two sets
00:02:47.900 more per match than the women do, and yet the women get equal pay. I'm not quite sure why. I don't think 1.00
00:02:53.620 it's a matter of equality. It's just a matter of fairness, isn't it? Yeah, well, I won. I think all
00:02:58.660 of the women should thank the men for funding our leagues because most of our leagues would not exist 0.99
00:03:04.120 without the men, number one. Number two, when we have the same numbers, then we should get the same
00:03:09.480 pay. I'm sorry, I play volleyball at the highest level, and it's like when we make what the men
00:03:15.460 make and get the crowds that the men draw, then we should get paid the same. Why is it actually a
00:03:20.140 fight for equality, Grace? I mean, if women in a particular sport, for example, turned out to
00:03:25.540 generate more revenue because they were more watchable, and in America, the women's football team
00:03:31.460 is better than the men, and they do generate, even at school level, far more interest from
00:03:36.320 girls than boys, for example, I don't see why equality should be the aim. Why shouldn't they
00:03:41.540 get paid more than the men? Well, look, I mean, there are all sorts of problems with the way that
00:03:46.560 this market for labor, and it is basically a market for labor, works. Like, I personally don't think
00:03:52.420 that the top football players in the world should be paid as much as they do. I think it's ridiculous, 0.83
00:03:56.360 the amount. That's market force. Exactly. It's market forces. Why shouldn't they get that? Should 0.70
00:04:00.080 that be the way that we decide, you know, who generates what is that? Personally, I'm very much
00:04:07.220 in favor of the fact that they came out there and said collective bargaining. Ultimately, like,
00:04:11.740 the average worker in this country hasn't had a pay rise in over a decade. How is that going to
00:04:15.440 change? That's going to change when they organize with one another. I'm so tired of women whining. 1.00
00:04:21.460 Mate, the only person whining at the moment is here. The men, the men, the men, literally, the men fund our
00:04:26.180 leagues, and we will still whine that we don't get paid enough. And honestly, when athletes do shit 0.99
00:04:31.860 like this, it makes all of us look bad. Because instead of being thankful for the league that we 0.99
00:04:36.980 have, we go out and whine and complain about the pay. I mean, as I said, I'm not whining. You sound like
00:04:43.500 you're maybe doing a bit of whining. But like, personally, I don't think we should be whining.
00:04:46.720 I think people should be organizing. If you want a pay increase, join a union, get out there and
00:04:50.900 fight for it. Should the women footballers get the same as the men? Yeah, I think it probably 1.00
00:04:54.580 makes sense. What do you mean it makes sense? What? Okay. Number one, this woman is the queen
00:05:03.480 of whining. If you look like she's coming on this show and you'll see, and she whines about 1.00
00:05:10.960 the topic. Ultimately, like, it's not going to change. It's not going to change unless
00:05:15.280 they organize. That's actually true across every sector. If you want to pay, join a union
00:05:21.000 and fight for one. Let me ask you this, though. They have got unions.
00:05:23.460 Exactly. Let me ask you this. On talent alone, for example, as a yardstick, the U.S. women's
00:05:30.220 football team were beaten by a group of under-15 boys from Texas, right, who were very good
00:05:36.300 under-15 boys, but they're under-15 boys' team. Beat them, I think, about 8-9-0 or something.
00:05:41.100 So why should women footballers, who are clearly nowhere near as good as their male counterparts, 0.89
00:05:45.940 just technically, why should they get paid anything like as much money?
00:05:49.700 Well, I mean, you know, it sucks, doesn't it, that, like, as a woman – okay, you play 1.00
00:05:54.300 volleyball. I'm a surfer. I absolutely love surfing. It's very hard for women to build 1.00
00:05:58.260 up a body strength. This is something that I've learned very much the hard way.
00:06:01.420 And so, you know – Surfers, by the way, there is equal pay.
00:06:04.860 Yeah, there is. And actually, you know, it's one of those sports where –
00:06:08.160 Can a woman be as good as a man or not? 1.00
00:06:09.960 Well, it's different. It's a different sport, really. It's not – you know, it is the same
00:06:13.460 sport, but it's very different watching a woman's surf than it is watching a man's surf 0.62
00:06:16.140 because, you know, the average male body is different from the average woman, like,
00:06:20.080 the woman's body for all these –
00:06:21.640 But is there any actual technical reason why a woman can't do with a surfboard what a man can do? 1.00
00:06:26.560 Yeah, there's – I mean, there's loads of reasons. Like, it's about the upper body strength.
00:06:30.160 It's about, like, the way that the body is built.
00:06:31.940 So should women surfers at the elite level get the same as men? 0.68
00:06:35.040 But, like, again, I think it's – it just is different. Like, it's a different kind of game.
00:06:38.820 And people watch it –
00:06:39.800 Oh, you're shaking your head.
00:06:41.060 No, I just think, well, if we start making the same amount of money as the men,
00:06:44.880 then we should get paid the same as the men.
00:06:47.100 I don't hear the men whining about OnlyFans models getting paid more than them.
00:06:51.740 I don't hear the men whining about models getting paid more than them.
00:06:56.100 Kendall Jenner is the highest-paid supermodel. Where are the male supermodels? 0.94
00:07:00.440 But if you average out –
00:07:01.100 But whenever men dominate in an industry, women will just complain. 1.00
00:07:06.120 I mean, I don't know if that's true about OnlyFans, because there are a lot of men on OnlyFans as well.
00:07:10.020 But, I mean, look, the main point here –
00:07:12.160 You think they make the same?
00:07:13.420 I have no idea.
00:07:14.200 Why does she talk about things she does not know?
00:07:17.580 That's the crazy thing.
00:07:19.100 She literally said – she says, oh, well, men make the same.
00:07:24.220 And I ask her, I'm like, so you think they make the same?
00:07:27.040 Well, I don't know.
00:07:27.900 Well, then why are you – why is her gut reaction to argue with me instead of seek what is true?
00:07:33.680 It's like she's so blind in her ideology that I would know ten times more about playing in a professional level than she would.
00:07:42.540 Yet, she's lecturing me and saying that we should get the equal prize money as the men, even though she knows nothing.
00:07:53.080 Nothing.
00:07:53.780 You know, I don't know much about the World Cup.
00:07:55.660 So, before the show, I was like, let me Google this.
00:07:57.700 Let me see – let me see the differences in the money.
00:08:02.180 The men bring in almost $7 billion from the World Cup.
00:08:06.380 The women don't even bring $1 billion. 1.00
00:08:08.500 Yet, we deserve equal prize money, and we still get like a third of their prize money.
00:08:16.220 And the funny thing is, we're literally stealing money from the men.
00:08:20.320 Because what will happen is, women will whine. 1.00
00:08:23.540 A small percent of men will say, all right, fine, let's give the women what they want. 1.00
00:08:28.120 Let's take a little bit of the money from the men and give it to the women. 1.00
00:08:31.100 And I guess the men are making so much money that they're not really paying attention.
00:08:34.840 But, honestly, if I was a man, I'd be pissed off.
00:08:38.660 I'd be pissed off that women keep taking the money that they earn to fund our leagues, to fund jobs that we don't need. 1.00
00:08:46.680 And, in return, instead of being thankful, they become man-hating feminists who whine and complain. 1.00
00:08:53.220 The other thing she said, she said, oh, I think you're whining. 0.92
00:08:56.380 We just watched a 10-minute video of women whining about their pay. 1.00
00:09:02.500 If you don't like the pay, we all know, this is what irritates me, we all know what we're getting ourselves into.
00:09:08.080 When we go into women's sports, we all know that it is not a high-paid job. 0.91
00:09:13.600 Every woman knows this. 1.00
00:09:15.000 You know this from the time you're like 10 years old.
00:09:17.660 Now, is it fair? 1.00
00:09:21.000 I think it's actually unfair to the men because they keep having to pay for our shit. 0.99
00:09:25.300 Like, the WNBA operates at a loss. 0.99
00:09:28.500 Women's college sports operates at a loss.
00:09:30.740 We don't make money.
00:09:32.500 Now, I could actually, I was thinking about this.
00:09:34.420 I could see us making money if they added in, like, drama.
00:09:37.780 Kind of like they do to the UFC where everyone's, like, fighting.
00:09:40.860 Like, if they added social media to volleyball, I'm like, I could see maybe them making money off of that.
00:09:46.780 Like, the rich, you know, the rich soccer moms. 1.00
00:09:49.500 Like, it's totally a thing, rich volleyball moms. 1.00
00:09:51.980 There's a lot of drama in these clubs.
00:09:53.760 Like, I could see this happening.
00:09:56.380 But my big issue is that instead of being thankful, we whine and complain when we could not even exist without the men funding our leagues.
00:10:08.940 And a feminist who clearly, like, does she know anything about women's sports? 1.00
00:10:13.700 What, she's a surfer?
00:10:15.120 She probably, like, surfed twice.
00:10:16.720 And now she's a surfing expert. 0.78
00:10:18.800 I don't know.
00:10:19.500 I don't know who this lady is. 1.00
00:10:20.480 But it's like you don't know anything.
00:10:23.420 And yet you're complaining.
00:10:26.080 And then she has the audacity to talk about what topic we should talk about on Pierce Morgan's show.
00:10:33.080 So what does she do? 0.93
00:10:34.220 She comes on to the show and whines. 1.00
00:10:37.640 Oh, it's my show now.
00:10:39.040 Imagine going on to someone else's show and not liking the topic they have for their show.
00:10:45.240 It's like, what is this craziness?
00:10:47.040 The point that I came on here that I wanted to make was that the problem that we have in our economy at the moment is not that, like, the average football player isn't played the same as the average man.
00:10:57.360 It is probably an injustice.
00:10:58.460 And I'm glad that they're organizing and working together to fight for that.
00:11:01.140 It's probably an injustice.
00:11:02.740 So through her worldview, through the lens, she doesn't care about the numbers.
00:11:07.020 It's just probably an injustice.
00:11:09.640 Like, why is she so confidently talk about something she does not know?
00:11:14.540 She does not know.
00:11:15.720 Gideon just recently released a YouTube video of him at a WNBA game.
00:11:20.760 And it was sad, guys.
00:11:22.400 It was so sad watching, like, the fans.
00:11:25.500 And he had YouTube videos at an NBA game and a WNBA game.
00:11:30.600 And literally, like, it was so sad to watch the level of crowds at the highest level.
00:11:35.700 Now, look, you know, I've played in volleyball games where we had a full stand and it was really fun.
00:11:40.800 But to act like that's the norm in women's sports, it's just not. 1.00
00:11:44.860 It's just it is what it is.
00:11:46.860 And we can either whine and complain or we can try to figure out ways to be more entertaining.
00:11:51.980 But women's women resort to whining. 1.00
00:11:56.140 Men resort to fixing the problem. 0.96
00:11:59.080 That's the truth of the matter.
00:12:00.860 Nobody's getting paid enough money because inflation's eroded people's wages.
00:12:04.100 Even before that, no one had a pay rise in a really long time.
00:12:06.760 And the lesson from this is, as I've said, I'm going to say it again because it's an important lesson.
00:12:11.180 And no one knows about them anymore because they see them as a hangover from 1970s.
00:12:14.580 Join a union because otherwise your boss isn't going to walk away.
00:12:17.180 But there are unions for all these.
00:12:18.500 They're all unions that are fighting for them.
00:12:20.220 OK, but just as a general point, though, the principle you think that women should get paid the same,
00:12:27.920 even if they're not as technically as good and not producing as much revenue.
00:12:31.960 Well, it's a subjective judgment, isn't it, on whether or not they're like technically as good.
00:12:34.800 Well, no, it's not.
00:12:35.920 No, it's not.
00:12:36.760 People watch men and women for different reasons.
00:12:38.720 Well, let me give you an example.
00:12:39.680 An example would be the Olympics.
00:12:40.900 If you made it non-gender specific, how many women would win medals? 1.00
00:12:45.240 Well, I mean.
00:12:45.920 None.
00:12:46.160 I mean, maybe in equestrian and maybe in shooting, I think, where there's no sense that the men might win.
00:12:53.480 You can say like, oh, you know, this group is better than this group.
00:12:56.560 But again, I think it's different.
00:12:57.480 Men are better than women at sports. 1.00
00:12:59.920 Yes.
00:13:00.160 Let's not live in this delusion.
00:13:02.120 And in most cases, Grace, more people, men and women, want to watch men play sports.
00:13:07.860 Correct.
00:13:08.160 That's just a demonstrable fact.
00:13:09.780 That may change.
00:13:10.540 And my point is, if it changes, I don't see why equality should be the only ambition for the women.
00:13:15.060 If it turns out that in some sport, women get more viewers watching and therefore draw more revenue, I'm all for them getting more money than the men.
00:13:22.820 Can you name five WNBA players?
00:13:25.400 Five female soccer players? 1.00
00:13:26.840 I mean, I can't name any soccer players.
00:13:28.480 I wish we had the support from the feminine. 1.00
00:13:30.480 The basketball, I don't know.
00:13:31.600 We would get equal pay if we would just get the support from the feminine. 1.00
00:13:35.020 Well, let me tell you.
00:13:36.360 Name five.
00:13:37.360 Let me tell you.
00:13:38.440 Let me know what the WNBA is. 1.00
00:13:40.740 Now, me, I'll openly admit I cannot name five.
00:13:44.760 I don't even think I can name five female athletes. 0.99
00:13:47.860 The first one that comes to mind is Riley Gaines.
00:13:50.600 The second one that comes to mind is that Brittany Griner chick. 0.95
00:13:56.040 I got nothing.
00:13:57.320 Like, I just, we don't, and I'm a female athlete.
00:13:59.700 I played basketball in England.
00:14:01.520 I played volleyball in England.
00:14:02.660 I played college volleyball, college basketball.
00:14:04.300 I ran track.
00:14:05.380 Like, I'm an athlete. 1.00
00:14:07.360 And I can't even name this shit. 0.99
00:14:09.660 Now, if I think of male basketball players, to be fair, the only ones I do know are because 0.99
00:14:15.240 of, like, some drama they're involved in.
00:14:17.380 Steph Curry.
00:14:18.580 Well, I know Michael Jordan.
00:14:20.880 Shaq.
00:14:22.140 Tristan Thompson.
00:14:24.020 And this is a little sad.
00:14:27.600 I don't really watch sports like that.
00:14:29.940 Oh, oh, oh.
00:14:31.660 Derek Jeter.
00:14:32.620 Is he a basketball player?
00:14:34.600 No?
00:14:35.100 I thought he's something.
00:14:36.080 Who's the guy?
00:14:37.020 The guy?
00:14:37.360 I saw this guy play at the Bulls a couple years ago.
00:14:40.460 Jimmy Butler.
00:14:41.360 Jimmy Butler.
00:14:42.060 See?
00:14:42.560 Five.
00:14:43.180 I had, it took me a second.
00:14:44.520 All right.
00:14:45.280 But I could actually name him.
00:14:47.280 This is the thing.
00:14:48.360 WNBA.
00:14:48.760 I only know the Brittany chick. 1.00
00:14:51.480 And I, and guys, I don't even, I have never, I don't even think I've ever watched a full
00:14:55.340 basketball game.
00:14:56.640 That's a crazy thing.
00:14:57.900 I literally don't think I've ever watched one outside of, like, at my college, like,
00:15:02.080 watching, like, the girls and the guys play.
00:15:04.220 But, like, at an NBA level, I don't, oh, wait.
00:15:08.460 Actually, I forgot.
00:15:09.500 I went to the NBA finals.
00:15:11.260 I totally forgot I did that.
00:15:12.720 I got free tickets.
00:15:13.560 It's like a woman's world. 1.00
00:15:14.540 You know what I mean?
00:15:15.020 I got free tickets.
00:15:15.880 But, not the point, not the point.
00:15:18.780 I, I don't even watch sports, and I can name, I can name five.
00:15:22.680 This feminist fighting for our equality, fighting for our prize money, doesn't even support us 1.00
00:15:30.100 in watching?
00:15:31.840 Wow.
00:15:33.780 I wish we had her support.
00:15:35.980 I wish that she would just help us break the glass ceiling and support us.
00:15:41.060 But none of these feminists are ever in the fan, in the stands. 1.00
00:15:43.820 None of these feminists are ever spending their Saturday supporting the team. 1.00
00:15:48.840 And I know this because there's a professional team that plays, um, that plays in England that's
00:15:55.420 really, really good.
00:15:56.180 They're one of the best basketball teams I have ever seen.
00:15:59.640 And literally, there is nobody at their game.
00:16:02.500 It is sad.
00:16:03.140 They're probably in the top, like, 0.25% of skill for women's sports. 1.00
00:16:07.600 And nobody goes to watch them play.
00:16:10.960 Now, I can whine and complain and say, oh, boo-hoo, poor me.
00:16:15.200 Or we could just say it is what it is and learn to be more entertaining.
00:16:18.840 I cannot stand the complaining.
00:16:21.180 Thank you.
00:16:21.920 Thanks, Jenny.
00:16:28.020 Thank you.
00:16:33.860 Thank you.
00:16:35.580 Thank you.
00:16:36.280 Thank you.
00:16:38.040 Thank you.
00:16:38.600 Thank you.
00:16:43.120 Thank you.
00:16:48.260 For four minutes, I'll see you next time.
