00:00:00.000 do you associate more masculine guys with being toxic or do you see masculinity as different from
00:00:06.400 toxicity the term toxic masculinity is often may vague are nice guys seen as softer and more
00:00:14.740 feminine no okay there's a lot to unpack here there's a lot to unpack here i definitely
00:00:21.640 but this is me being a little more pro male which is off-brand for me but yeah like they're toxic
00:00:29.060 masculinity especially in sports is like all of us athletes just like bro like for me i've only ever
00:00:38.200 been with athletes and like the culture that's set for them like they're not allowed to process
00:00:43.000 their emotions and in that way it's like it causes it makes it builds a wall for them because it's
00:00:49.620 like if they show emotion in that way they're weak and that's what they've been told their whole life 1.00
00:00:54.560 like you cry you're a pussy to me when a man when a man cries and like well depends what they're 1.00
00:01:00.680 crying about but like but like that's like vulnerable and like to me that's strength like 1.00
00:01:05.580 if you're able to because there is such a culture like you know oh don't be a don't be a bitch like 1.00
00:01:11.640 that's what they'll say to like men yeah like don't be a pussy and like also like that's kind of 1.00
00:01:15.520 on on the flip side so a common complaint i hear from guys is women say they want the emotional side 0.99
00:01:22.800 from us like they say they want us to cry in front of them they say they want it but then we give it
00:01:27.240 to them and they're not attracted to it and they don't like it so women don't really know what they 0.99
00:01:32.520 want do you think that's true i've seen that i saw i saw that in a video it was this guy uh i don't
00:01:41.420 know what he was upset about or crying about but um the girl was like she was on the phone with him
00:01:47.060 and she was like i want you to be more vulnerable with me but not like this and he's like pouring out
00:01:51.180 his heart yeah just kind of hiding in her and then i thought about like what you just asked us
00:01:55.520 like where is there like a cutoff to where it's like okay i wanted you to be vulnerable but not
00:01:59.860 that wrong where you look like a baby but it's like but like where does it like stop i was gonna
00:02:05.180 say i think it depends on the situation at all times because if i see you crying over somebody dying
00:02:10.740 or like feeling like the weight like the weight on your shoulders is too much like i want to be there
00:02:16.200 for you to help you lift that weight off your shoulders and make you feel exactly but if you
00:02:21.820 see a rat in the corner of the room and you start crying yeah i'm gonna like like no because even i'm
00:02:27.720 not gonna do that like i feel like i cry as well so i feel like no i'll be crying but i feel like
00:02:33.780 like just personal preference like what are you attracted to like i know i definitely have
00:02:44.980 internalized like toxic message like i am very like when a guy shows me like little signs of like being
00:02:51.520 like a little feminine that's a huge turn off i like it 1.00
00:02:55.260 you wear crop tops i like this you like that stuff oh my gosh no i see a man in a crop top
00:03:08.420 oh no it's not toxic masculinity if i it is not toxic masculinity to have a preference for men
00:03:16.220 that are men can i just say sorry sorry so they're not any less a man just because they dress
00:03:21.880 i think they're more masculine am i a man just because i'm wearing pants
00:03:26.680 are you what is that am i am i masculine because i wear pants well i didn't yeah
00:03:31.600 pants are more masculine basketball shorts are more matte like you look more masculine when you
00:03:37.000 wear that stuff men tend to be more when you if you wear the baggy shorts like basketball kit wise
00:03:45.220 why does it mean i'm more masculine do you know what i mean because you look like it's like
00:03:48.800 common sense that's not common sense to be like you know what i could wear a salmon shirt
00:03:55.940 i could wear blue jeans and do you think i'm wearing a salmon pink shirt that means i'm
00:04:00.340 feminine well i mean not just a pink shirt it's like how you dress like i think it's common sense
00:04:06.280 that a girl in a ball gown looks more feminine and a girl in a basketball jersey i think looks
00:04:11.280 more masculine i don't i don't think it's security i think it's common sense like i think like come
00:04:17.400 on you guys know what i'm saying is true you're telling me you're telling me cinderella cinderella
00:04:22.680 looks more masculine than than a wnba player we get you no we get you come on but i do come on
00:04:32.840 so basketball are you associating that with a men's sport yeah it's more mad like girls look more 0.83
00:04:37.640 masculine in our basketball jersey i wear them i wear them she's saying just like just the look like
00:04:43.500 they're you know i understand what you're saying so if a guy so if a guy comes to me in a crop top
00:04:48.600 he looks more feminine i'm not attractive elliott looks real good 0.93
00:04:52.300 wait wait there are exceptions to every role
00:04:57.200 if i was in a football kit you'll be saying oh i look more masculine yeah
00:05:03.580 but i feel like the world we live in see this is where society's standards come in i feel like
00:05:10.660 personally to my in my opinion your opinions don't get to say it's wrong yeah i just feel like
00:05:16.540 personally we're in a world that's more evolved where back in the day yes football and basketball
00:05:21.700 are sports that's more associated with men and women have worked their asses off their 0.81
00:05:27.740 bloody asses off i'm trying not to swear guys um to get to where they are the level of where they are 0.98
00:05:33.780 for example i even had an argument with a guy that said one of the girls on your team 0.99
00:05:38.100 um plays like a guy and i said argued with him and i was like yo i've been told that so many times
00:05:43.020 i'm like why does she play like a guy do you think because men are better no sorry 1.00
00:05:48.180 hold on they are like statistically in every category in every sorry genetically scientifically
00:05:57.180 yeah so by every measure that you can every piece of data that you can measure
00:06:02.400 men's muscles and their muscle mass cool it's on a different level okay this girl
00:06:07.360 this girl worked her ass off to get to the standard of basketball that she plays she's a pro player 1.00
00:06:14.700 yeah yeah and the guy said she plays like a guy that's so degrading she worked her ass off to get 1.00
00:06:20.080 to where she plays like that's degrading but she plays like a woman it's that simple yeah who she is 0.74
00:06:24.660 it's not even about women and men but why is it why is it degrading if men are bad like they're better
00:06:29.680 men are men are more supreme that's a whole different level men are men are okay okay okay
00:06:36.160 this is this is this is this is men are not in the conversation when with that kind of thing like
00:06:42.340 her working her ass off and getting to that point like to bring a man into that it's almost like a 1.00
00:06:46.440 why because it's like why does but why wait wait okay okay this is my platform this is my this
00:06:51.860 is my youtube show pipe down child respectfully like why does it matter like why is your first
00:06:58.700 instinct to get angry when men are or like if we compare if we compare men to women like they
00:07:03.860 don't get angry like why is your first so because they don't want to be comfortable like being pinned
00:07:10.820 on them and we like but i'm saying i'm saying i'm like i'm saying like like basketball right men
00:07:18.500 statistically in every single i'm sorry it's not a fun reality but statistically like like in every
00:07:24.500 single category are better than women like there's like really good high school teams that beat w nba 0.96
00:07:30.400 teams all the time like but we we want credit yeah that's it we want we get credit without the
00:07:37.760 comparison of being seen as a man so what if i what if i said you play what if i say you play like
00:07:43.660 lebron james would you be offended no because so i wouldn't i wouldn't be offended but i'd be like
00:07:51.220 so my my gifts and my talents are overlooked to be compared to an nba player yes great nba player but
00:08:01.000 i'd be like can i not be can i not play like jessica can i not play like me like i understand what
00:08:07.400 you're saying but just the fact that women can't be be like oh she's a great player she she plays 1.00
00:08:14.300 like herself like i wonder how long she took the train and blah blah to get there but to be compared
00:08:18.600 to a man it's like okay why can i why can't i be compared to lisa i just don't understand why it's a
00:08:25.680 bad thing if they're if they're good like we just i don't i don't think it's as women like me 0.90
00:08:31.580 personally i can say i got complimented in the comparison of a woman right and that was the best
00:08:37.460 feeling in the world because i was playing beach volleyball one day yeah and this guy on the court
00:08:41.360 was like so you're black serena williams but in volleyball yeah i was like that but you were 0.79
00:08:45.740 you but you weren't offended by that because because she's a woman and she paved a way for female 1.00
00:08:52.280 but i'm saying like a man did not pave a way for us we did okay women were doing it for us 0.97
00:08:58.720 we take losses in w like in the in college basketball women's take losses every year in 0.98
00:09:04.800 profits no that's who's making the profits that's paving the way they lose money every single year
00:09:12.020 when it comes to money i mean just being strong enough to want to play a sport that is male
00:09:16.960 dominated for example like come on tennis uh basketball all those things it always started
00:09:24.180 out with men at some point they were like all right let's let women play even baseball they
00:09:29.520 decided not to let women play baseball and called it softball yeah like because they decided it had 1.00
00:09:33.740 to be different like don't the only time i feel like it's okay to make extreme comparisons and
00:09:39.420 differences in the sport is track that makes sense women are naturally built different we fully accept 1.00
00:09:45.240 that so we have to make those exceptions for us in track but in other sports give women a little 1.00
00:09:50.120 bit more credit you know we we hold ass too so they hold it down yeah like if we look at there's 0.92
00:09:57.020 a lot of women there's a lot of female like if we're gonna talk about basketball or anything 1.00
00:10:00.740 i can't be coming to volleyball i don't really pay attention to it like that but like even in
00:10:04.580 basketball um even football there's a lot of female players that actually play better than a lot 1.00
00:10:11.780 of men play but you never say you'll never catch like uh other guy credit in them like that
00:10:16.780 wait are you talking about soccer yeah yeah are you talking about soccer but if but if the women
00:10:22.660 if the women it's all driven by the market though like it's driven by by the fans that want to watch 1.00
00:10:29.420 so so if if women were better than men like more fans would watch they would make more money 0.96
00:10:35.040 better is like not the right term like i think that like historically like male sports have 0.95
00:10:44.700 dominated and that's kind of the tone that's set like yeah we probably had like a 40 year yeah
00:10:49.300 exactly right also women we don't play like men we play differently we're not as physical and that's
00:10:55.220 genetic yeah we are like women's volleyball is completely different than men's volleyball yeah
00:10:59.540 women's volleyball is a lot less like men's volleyball they'll have like two rallies and then it's 0.97
00:11:04.460 over because everyone hits so hard that you can only do so much with it yeah women's volleyball is 1.00
00:11:07.820 a lot different and that like there's a lack of interest like women's basketball you're not going
00:11:12.860 to see girls dunking every single ball right right and it's like that's not the showboating like you 0.58
00:11:19.680 know what i'm saying so yeah yeah i'm like i agree i agree yeah don't appreciate the i think it's
