00:00:00.880 The year 1919 saw the case of Dodge versus the Ford Motor Company make its
00:00:09.160 way through the American court system. From this case was established the
00:00:15.560 principle of shareholder primacy, that shareholders needed to come first and
00:00:23.600 employees and customers had to come second. You see, Dodge had been upset with
00:00:33.360 Mr. Ford for paying his workers too much and providing too good of a product.
00:00:42.760 That decision has led to this modern situation we find ourselves in where
00:00:49.100 corporations are legally required to be evil. Take the case of Gerber baby food.
00:00:57.780 Gerber baby food is an alternative form of nutrition for children that is
00:01:05.060 inherently inferior to breast milk. But there are many cases where, for various
00:01:12.020 reasons, breast milk may not be available. That's the argument for creating this
00:01:18.260 product in the first place. But then the Gerber Corporation figured something out.
00:01:24.020 If you give mothers a free three-month supply of baby food, their breasts will dry up,
00:01:34.780 making the children now completely reliant upon Gerber baby food. This is bad for the
00:01:43.940 children. It makes them weaker immunologically. It lowers IQ. It's just bad for the children,
00:01:52.940 and it's bad for society, but it's good for the shareholders. This practice was
00:02:00.380 eventually banned in American law, but they're still doing it to this day in Africa.
00:02:08.220 Yeah. As if those poor kids don't need every IQ point they can grab.
00:02:21.220 Shareholder Primacy
00:02:22.460 Now, there was a joke by the comedian Bill Hicks back in the 90s. He was going on about what awful
00:02:32.980 human being marketers are, and he joked about them making arsenic a new baby food supplement. Well,
00:02:43.140 just a few years ago,
00:02:47.540 they increased the allowable amounts of arsenic, which can be in baby food. Shareholder supremacy.
00:02:56.340 Why is this world so evil?
00:03:06.340 Why is it that the higher up on the food chain you go,
00:03:11.700 it seems like the more evil you have to be?
00:03:14.740 Who's got more freedom of speech? Me or Elon Musk? He's got greater reach.
00:03:29.060 But I dare say that I have greater freedom of speech. There's some things that if Elon said them,
00:03:37.940 well, there'd be absolute hell to pay.
00:03:47.460 Why is reality like that? Why is it that the more power you attain, the more evil you have to be?
00:03:57.860 When will King Arthur return and save us?
00:04:00.100 There were a couple of good articles on this recently, which is one inspired this video by
00:04:09.860 Neoliberal Feudalism. They're linked down below, and they go a bit more in depth. I think we all know
00:04:16.020 about the Pizzagate conspiracy theory. I don't need to belabor these points.
00:04:22.900 Instead, what I want to talk about is the metaphysics underlying all of this.
00:04:35.380 Quantum foam.
00:04:39.540 Quantum foam, which was a theory developed in the 1950s,
00:04:43.620 is based upon the Heidegger Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. We should all know that name thanks to Breaking Bad.
00:04:56.580 By one John Wheeler.
00:05:03.140 He posited, if you go down to the Planck length,
00:05:06.900 which is 10 to the 20 times smaller than a proton.
00:05:14.020 If you go down to the Planck length, the Planck time, the Uncertainty Principle predicts that
00:05:23.780 fundamental particles are going to be spontaneously appearing and disappearing. Micro black holes,
00:05:30.580 wormholes, wormholes, that there's this chaotic foam, this, this TV static at the ground of reality.
00:05:45.220 It's almost as if
00:05:48.660 for a brief moment, you can spin up two equally charged, negatively charged, oppositely charged particles
00:05:57.140 and have them exist momentarily before they self-anihilate again.
00:06:07.220 This theory's never been proven.
00:06:12.260 It may have some effects on distant light of different frequencies that we see from stars, galaxies.
00:06:20.820 We haven't proven it yet, and this is not a physics lecture. This is a meta-physics lecture.
00:06:30.340 But bear with me. Let's run with this idea of quantum foam.
00:06:37.380 Because the idea of doing something impossible by cheating physics is what technology is all about.
00:06:46.420 Currently, here on the farm, we have been working on creating a ram pump.
00:06:57.860 The way a ram pump works is if you run water downhill, and you have a little check valve,
00:07:07.060 and you pop out some of the water, and you create a water hammer, that water hammer can force water back
00:07:16.340 up a hill to twice the height it was once set, at the cost of half the water.
00:07:24.180 Damn near a magic trick.
00:07:25.380 Completely automated. You put it in place, you tap it once with your finger, and boom, you've got a
00:07:34.900 permanent water pump pushing water uphill.
00:07:42.340 Technology is always about tricking the universe into doing something impossible.
00:07:46.340 So what if the universe itself was an impossible magic trick from the very beginning?
00:07:59.220 What if the premise of this entire cosmos
00:08:03.620 is a quantum fluctuation of two opposites arranged in such a manner that they spiral outwards?
00:08:11.620 What if all of this reality is just pulling apart of two oppositely charged particles to create a current
00:08:24.260 in between them, in a space where nothing exists whatsoever? Just this illusory magic trick
00:08:32.420 of pretending that instead of zero, we've actually got plus one and minus one.
00:08:37.060 What if nothing in reality is real? It's just a bit of prestigitation, a stage illusion
00:08:50.260 of depth and cause and space and time.
00:08:55.060 On its own, it's a pretty useless trick. Because space and time on its own, a space and time that don't exist,
00:09:08.420 is just a space and time that don't exist. It's useless until you add an observer.
00:09:17.060 Why is it? Why is it that eyes are such an inky black color?
00:09:30.980 I mean, of course they're not. I mean, I think we all know that eyes are actually red. Your optical nerves
00:09:38.900 are red like everything else on the inside of you.
00:09:41.300 This, in the old days of camera flash, this is what caused red eye in the old photos.
00:09:55.700 I'm sure all these new smartphones correct for that, but kids, back when you used to take a nighttime
00:10:00.820 shot of your friends, all of their eyes were glowing red.
00:10:04.340 Because that temporary flash reflected off the optical nerve at the back of the eye.
00:10:13.620 Eyes aren't really black, and yet they're all black.
00:10:21.380 Bizarre.
00:10:22.020 Why is it when you look into the lens of a camera?
00:10:29.380 You can't see the optical receptors on the other side.
00:10:40.420 To quote insane clown posse, I ain't talking to a scientist about this, because that's not the point
00:10:46.260 I'm getting at.
00:10:48.260 The fact there is this universal illusion of unlimited, infinite depth in the eyes.
00:10:55.780 And at the very far end of that tunnel is a spark of light.
00:11:03.780 It's absolutely bizarre.
00:11:06.580 It's one of those little clues that are left in reality that all is not as it seems.
00:11:11.300 There's a fractal nature to observation.
00:11:20.340 The higher you ascend psychically, spiritually, the more time you spend observing yourself observing.
00:11:28.100 You observe the smaller bits of yourself.
00:11:30.900 You remember that time as a child when you saw the celebrity on TV do a thing.
00:11:37.940 And part of you thought, I should do that thing that the celebrity is doing, while part of you watched
00:11:44.980 yourself thinking that you should do the thing, understanding that you're only thinking that
00:11:49.780 because a random celebrity on TV did the thing.
00:11:57.620 The infinite fractal nature of observation itself, the end of that tunnel, is where you find God.
00:12:04.020 He's just an infinite distance away.
00:12:15.540 So if reality is nothing but this magic trick, this artificial division of zero into opposites,
00:12:25.700 opposites through which a current can flow, mixed in with the supernatural act of observation.
00:12:39.620 All of these eyes, all of these spirits enmeshed in the flesh to observe the reality that we're all pretending is real.
00:12:49.060 Might this go some ways in explaining
00:13:00.340 the evil in this world?
00:13:01.380 If reality is this stage magician's trick, this mathematical sleight of hand,
00:13:19.380 if fundamentally nothing really exists, it's just by separating the elements we can pretend that it exists.
00:13:25.940 Then everything within existence is preying upon everything else within existence.
00:13:39.780 It's Ouroboros. It's the Midgard serpent eating its own tail, encircling reality,
00:13:46.660 pulling apart reality so that reality might exist.
00:13:50.100 And yet there's nothing else in reality from which we might draw sustenance.
00:14:00.340 And therefore, while these spiritual nodes of observation populate the universe,
00:14:07.860 the only way for any of it to exist is to prey upon everything else.
00:14:15.940 And thus, to exist, we need the will to power.
00:14:19.460 We need power so that we can consume other creatures to maintain our own existence.
00:14:31.060 And that's all creatures.
00:14:32.820 It's not just us that have to consume others.
00:14:36.180 All creatures.
00:14:38.020 Plants consume others.
00:14:39.620 They secrete poisons.
00:14:41.140 They engage in war.
00:14:52.260 So either this is just a universe built for souls to suffer in.
00:14:59.460 Perhaps.
00:15:00.020 Or perhaps it's a place for us to experience.
00:15:08.180 So if we start to consider those at the top of the pecking order,
00:15:17.620 those who truly lust after power.
00:15:19.780 But if power is nothing but power over your fellow nodes of perception,
00:15:31.940 if it's just leverage over others,
00:15:36.340 if you're missing the point of experiencing this universe,
00:15:41.060 and you're locked into mistaking this fake hypothetical reality for truth,
00:15:53.380 if it's turtles all the way down and turtles in a giant circle,
00:15:58.660 then the more leverage you gain,
00:16:01.620 the more you will be leveraged.
00:16:04.820 The more millions of dollars that you have,
00:16:14.980 the more millions of watchers you have compelling your behavior.
00:16:26.740 You no longer have the freedom to be a stainless steel rat crawling through the system
00:16:32.180 and engaging in interesting adventures.
00:16:38.340 You have all the worldly honor and prestige,
00:16:42.900 but none of the freedom.
00:16:56.020 Put another way,
00:16:58.100 in a Dungeons and Dragons game,
00:17:02.340 do you really want to play a character
00:17:05.220 who's being manipulated by the gods for their own ends,
00:17:08.340 or manipulated by high politics for their own ends?
00:17:14.900 No, far more fun to be the courier,
00:17:20.820 to be somebody with just enough freedom to move around,
00:17:26.260 but not so much freedom that you ever enter one of the history books.
00:17:29.140 That seems to be the sweet middle.
00:17:42.020 Let's finish by considering Michael Rockefeller.
00:17:46.020 When it comes to powerful families
00:17:51.380 that are wreaking untold evil upon the world,
00:17:57.860 the Rockefellers are pretty high up there,
00:18:00.500 deliberately ceding destructive social movements
00:18:04.100 to keep the population disunited and antagonistic against one another
00:18:09.300 so that they might profit.
00:18:17.460 Michael was a man born into this family.
00:18:20.500 He studied anthropology.
00:18:26.740 Then in 1961,
00:18:29.940 his boat overturned in Papua New Guinea,
00:18:33.140 and he was last seen swimming for shore.
00:18:37.060 A few years later, he was declared dead.
00:18:41.700 But then,
00:18:42.180 an investigative journalist that was trying to pursue this case
00:18:49.220 wound up taking a photo
00:18:53.540 of a bunch of the natives
00:18:56.340 swimming in their war canoes.
00:19:00.980 And amongst them
00:19:02.660 was a white man with a long beard,
00:19:04.420 wearing nothing but a pair of shorts.
00:19:05.860 officially he's declared dead.
00:19:10.980 As of today, he'd be about 87 years old.
00:19:14.260 He's probably passed on by now.
00:19:17.300 But a man from the richest family in the world
00:19:21.780 took the opportunity
00:19:23.860 to run away from all of it.
00:19:25.940 To go experience things.
00:19:28.340 To go engage with the natives in
00:19:31.540 new and interesting ways.
00:19:32.980 Can you imagine
00:19:35.220 how much the people he met there?
00:19:38.580 How much they gained from engaging with him?
00:19:43.300 What a mystery he must have been to
00:19:47.380 people of that culture.
00:19:57.060 Ultimately, you can't escape the game of power.
00:20:01.380 Even vegetarians are responsible for the deaths of animals
00:20:05.780 killed by the threshing machine.
00:20:16.100 I suppose you can become one of the living mummies
00:20:19.060 of Buddhism.
00:20:19.860 You can never completely escape evil.
00:20:32.020 But if you lock yourself into the cycle
00:20:34.260 of obsessing over this material reality.
00:20:37.540 Of gaining more and more power
00:20:39.540 over this material reality.
00:20:41.700 Until such a point that you can't even see.
00:20:46.420 That it's all Maya.
00:20:49.380 It's all illusion.
00:20:55.140 Eventually, you turn into a monster like Yuval Harari.
00:20:57.860 A man that knows that his brain is nothing but chemicals
00:21:03.780 because the chemicals tell him so.
00:21:07.620 That
00:21:09.700 is hell.
00:21:10.260 That
00:21:12.180 is locking yourself
00:21:14.420 into permanent incarnation
00:21:16.100 in samsera.
00:21:18.180 And so if reality
00:21:26.180 reality is a crucified
00:21:30.900 mathematical formula.
00:21:33.540 Where we crucify zero and drag it out
00:21:36.340 into negative one and positive one.
00:21:38.580 And perhaps.
00:21:45.620 Perhaps the reason we are here.
00:21:47.540 Here.
00:21:49.700 Is to crucify ourselves.
00:21:54.340 To.
00:21:56.820 See.
00:21:59.140 The evil.
00:22:00.740 Within us.
00:22:04.020 To see the contradictions.
00:22:05.780 To not project the contradictions.
00:22:09.460 On the other Piscean fish.
00:22:18.340 To not label the other as evil
00:22:19.860 and ourselves as holy.
00:22:22.740 But rather to see the holy
00:22:25.940 and the profane within ourselves.
00:22:28.820 To hold those opposite ideas.
00:22:31.860 Those irreconcilable ideas.
00:22:36.740 Without letting them
00:22:39.380 slam back together
00:22:40.660 and eliminate one another.
00:22:43.460 Without disappearing
00:22:44.660 into the living death.
00:22:48.420 Of an underground Buddha.
00:22:53.220 But to do all of that
00:22:54.580 and still act
00:22:56.020 in the world.
00:22:59.460 For what time
00:23:00.820 we have here.
00:23:10.580 Perhaps God
00:23:11.860 wants us
00:23:14.580 to crucify ourselves.
00:23:17.380 That we
00:23:19.540 may become more like him.
