00:00:31.440 There it is.
00:00:32.300 All right, guys, a Halloween event in St. Mary's that features a spiritual medium, which is funny to say, a spiritual medium.
00:00:39.700 It's a medium.
00:00:40.220 You're a clairvoyant.
00:00:41.240 Features a clairvoyant, a psychic, is drawing criticism from some religious groups in town.
00:00:47.460 Organizers say that the event will go on tonight starting around 6 p.m.
00:00:50.420 Man, is this happening right now?
00:00:52.680 Oh, this is back on the 23rd.
00:00:54.280 uh let's get into it a little bit more joe's bar and grill created a halloween event the
00:00:59.820 organizers say the medium visited saint mary's before and receive no pushback so saint mary's
00:01:05.400 is a church and uh i think a catholic cathedral and they saw fit to throw a halloween event not
00:01:13.000 just a halloween event but also to have a medium which i think is maybe controversial it's spooky
00:01:18.380 season man you can do whatever the hell you want well we don't know what to think about this so we
00:01:22.380 have a really good guest brought back again. Again? Mr. Ed Babley. What do you think about
00:01:28.060 this kind of stuff here? What's happening in today's day and age and Halloween in general?
00:01:33.260 Is it okay to have a medium at your church? Well, the short answer is no, it is not. It's not my
00:01:39.040 opinion. It's the opinion of the person who inspired the Bible, God himself, who basically
00:01:44.780 said, do not have any type of medium, any type of witch in your midst, or you will be stoned to
00:01:49.440 Now, granted, this is Levitical law, so, you know, we're not under the law per se, but I don't think that makes it okay, you know, to do this sort of thing. And I don't know why anyone would think that was okay to have in a church.
00:02:03.720 You know, I want to say real quick, people will typically give Protestants a hard time for this. This is actually Catholicism, right? Because Protestants are the ones who do, yeah.
00:02:12.120 protestants are the ones that do all kinds of goofy stuff if we want a lgbtq ira you know uh 0.96
00:02:19.020 pastor that's a female then that's usually going to be under the the the tent of protestants pulling
00:02:25.700 that one off but this this uh this is actually a catholic move it's very fun you know what's
00:02:29.520 interesting when i was in my 20s long before i met my wife i dated this girl who was she was a
00:02:34.120 catholic girl she was a mexican girl she was catholic and but she was also into santeria
00:02:38.480 and so she takes me to like this santeria i don't know what they call their establishments it's not
00:02:43.700 a you know a santeria synagogue so like that's where i can i can piss off i do like that no
00:02:47.420 whatever their whatever their place of worship is i was i went there out of curiosity and i just
00:02:53.560 noticed that while they were doing all their chants and incense and doing their spells they
00:02:57.720 were all like these candles with the catholic saints on them you know the virgin mary saint
00:03:02.340 whoever of wherever were all there so it's like they were mixing the two because there's there's
00:03:07.500 that mix of paganism and Christianity,
00:03:10.100 which is essentially what Catholicism is.
00:03:11.720 They, you know, when Constantine did his thing
00:03:14.300 and he legalized Christianity,
00:03:16.400 and then his third successor, Theodosius,
00:03:18.980 made it the official religion of Rome
00:03:21.120 under penalty of death,
00:03:23.160 then all the pagans were forced to come into the church,
00:03:26.060 which made it a really odd situation.
00:03:28.560 It was a really tough environment.
00:03:30.240 And so what they did was in order to bring the peace,
00:03:32.820 they decided to meld those two ideas
00:03:35.960 of paganism and Christianity.
00:03:37.500 to pacify them. And that's why they just took all their various and sundry gods and just renamed
00:03:42.040 them saints. So Romulus and Remus, who are the mythological gods of Rome, became Saint Peter and
00:03:48.840 Saint Paul. The mother goddess became Mary, and so forth and so on. So it doesn't surprise me
00:03:54.820 that that would bleed over into Santeria, which is the same thing. Not pantheistic, but just
00:04:00.980 multiple pagan deities. Okay, well, we'll just bring in these other deities and we'll call them
00:04:05.280 saints you know when the spanish came over and conquered them and did all that stuff and introduced
00:04:08.660 catholicism so well but this is a bridge too far to bring you an actual medium you see the same
00:04:14.800 thing in voodoo and hoodoo right so they'll they'll bring these pagan uh haitian gods and they'll
00:04:20.760 they went oh i guess it worked out really well for them maybe we could do that i don't know which
00:04:24.100 one came first was it um the the voodoo angle or the santaria santa muerte angle but uh i think
00:04:31.260 somebody looked at what the other did and went actually that worked out really well uh let's go
00:04:36.440 ahead and follow suit so yeah more than a few different pagan pantheons are hiding amongst
00:04:42.920 catholic saints that's a really interesting thing let me read a little bit more of this
00:04:47.180 so religious groups in town are concerned about the event which local businesses are putting on
00:04:53.260 to bring something new to the community despite the backlash organizers say the event is still on
00:04:58.180 And so as far as I'm concerned, this went off without a hitch.
00:05:00.920 Cafe owner Kelsey Ritchie is participating in the event.
00:05:05.060 She sees it as a fun idea, but she owns a cafe.
00:05:07.860 And this woman is likely a LGBTQ member. 1.00
00:05:12.200 So that probably gets right up the alley there. 0.96
00:05:13.900 It says, quote, we don't have any movie theaters and we don't have a bowling. 1.00
00:05:18.240 This town doesn't have shit. 0.99
00:05:21.100 We don't have a shopping mall. 1.00
00:05:23.240 Do they have traffic lights?
00:05:25.060 They have traffic lights.
00:05:25.840 They have restaurants and bars that are open at night.
00:05:29.820 And Richie, the undoubtedly lesbian cafe owner, says, I was just excited that something new was coming to town. 0.98
00:05:37.380 I mean, I almost feel the plight of living in a small town with absolutely nothing going on. 1.00
00:05:43.520 Let's sprinkle in a little bit of witchcraft. 0.68
00:05:44.940 Let's do a little cesta fuerte in the local Catholic church. 0.73
00:05:48.640 I mean, really, the Catholic church goers wouldn't even know the difference.
00:05:52.060 No, this reminds me of – oh, there's an echo with my voice.
00:05:55.040 I don't know if you guys can hear that.
00:05:55.840 that oh that's it we're having all kinds of uh issues with this let's just try to muscle through
00:06:00.520 it well i'll keep going so it reminds me of like some work events i've been to like a christmas
00:06:04.620 party or i'm sorry a holiday party that they'll have at work and they'll like have like a booth
00:06:10.300 with a fortune teller you know and they'll be okay we'll tell you it was just entertainment
00:06:14.100 for the work event no one seriously thinks that this person with their crystal ball and their
00:06:17.960 tarot cards are really telling the future it's just it's like a photo booth it's just something
00:06:20.840 that's entertaining, so maybe that's what they're thinking. But doing that in a church,
00:06:26.380 like I said, I don't think it's a bridge too far. And I know that I was on with you guys last year
00:06:32.300 around this time, because I did a Q&A on my Patreon about whether or not it's okay for
00:06:39.480 Christians to celebrate Halloween. And I got a lot of pushback on that. Because what I said was,
00:06:46.040 if you are not observing the actual holiday of Halloween, I don't think there's a problem with
00:06:50.680 dressing up and going out with your kids, going trick-or-treating, because it's about your
00:06:56.880 intention and what you're doing with it. For example, atheists celebrate Christmas. It doesn't 0.81
00:07:01.220 make them Christian. They're celebrating the festivities. So you don't have to become born
00:07:09.560 again to celebrate the secular holiday of Christianity. And you also don't have to be a 0.61
00:07:14.140 Satanist to do the little Halloween trick-or-treating and that sort of thing and dressing
00:07:20.460 up and being silly like this year we're all going my family we're going as a fresh prince of bel-air
00:07:24.920 characters nice that's awesome so my oldest son is going to be he's going to be will smith i'm
00:07:30.640 going to be carlton because that's i got voted out i was going to be the dad but no they wanted
00:07:35.380 me to be carlton and my other son is going to be jazzy jeff and my wife's going to be hillary
00:07:39.380 that's awesome i love that i was actually just watching i'll send pictures that is great so okay
00:07:45.260 uh this is actually interesting because i was recently having a conversation with matt
00:07:48.760 about my cousin um so i have a cousin who's more like a brother to me and and it obviously is my
00:07:55.160 hope that he comes to christ but i know him he's very much like me um we were brought up the same
00:08:01.900 way same you know exposure to the culture and such and so i think if you push him too far many such
00:08:08.440 cases he's gonna recede from it right and so he asked me the other day because we have been making
00:08:14.660 these little these little inches and miles right hopefully that's what they turn into when it comes
00:08:19.880 to his proximity to God and what I've told him is look man don't worry about all the other stuff
00:08:25.440 just start using the name Jesus Christ start talking to God start treating God like he's real
00:08:32.340 and you could have a relationship with him let's just start there let's let's not worry about
00:08:36.460 anything else it's just a good place to start okay and so he comes to me recently and he goes
00:08:42.640 what do you think about the idea of like christians celebrating halloween i specifically
00:08:46.420 thought within the context of him and i said what's really important here is it is it so
00:08:51.920 important this early in your walk to be abstaining from this or that and and you know keeping this
00:08:58.080 out of your house and that area it's like if god convicts you to do those things at some point in
00:09:02.640 your walk with him then you do those things but in the beginning man it's like hey there's a
00:09:08.020 difference between people that outwardly hate God and they're adhering to Halloween and they're
00:09:15.120 doing it in the most demonic fashion possible in order to rebel against a God they either don't
00:09:19.400 believe or do believe and dislike, right? Let's say, for example, a woman, you picture an old
00:09:26.140 lady who loves the Lord's days in her Bible, but when that door gets knocked on on Halloween,
00:09:32.600 she opens it with a bowl of candy and she's so happy to see the little kids that are dressed
00:09:37.380 like pumpkins and this one's dressed like a ghost and she thinks it's the best thing ever and they
00:09:40.940 say trick or treat and she goes oh my god and it's just a great time for her i don't think that god 0.75
00:09:45.480 is gonna you know slam the door to salvation on an old woman like that so i think it's if it's a 0.92
00:09:50.600 stumbling block for you right somebody who's you know in in in a work a real working relationship 0.97
00:09:56.540 with the lord and you find that this is a stumbling block for you then so be it right but if this is
00:10:00.980 like you're just in the beginning stages of it i think it depends on where you are as a christian
00:10:05.520 me and my family what my son is dressing up like wolverine uh with the leather jacket and the tank
00:10:12.240 top and the dog tags and i got the whole he looks awesome we already did a little test run of it
00:10:17.360 so we'll be going out um and i was gonna dress up but i i ended up not i you know did it too late
00:10:22.360 for the costume thing um but for me where i am i know too much to be dressing up like a demon
00:10:28.080 that's just not right exactly yeah but wherever you are whatever god puts on your heart like
00:10:33.680 that's where you should be at so i'm i'm very much in the same place when it comes to this
00:10:37.520 yeah because the question that i was the answer i was trying to give was is it a sin to do it

00:12:13.440 And what is sin? Sin is anything that's done outside of faith.
00:12:15.780 That is a definition of sin.
00:12:17.960 If you're doing something that you know is wrong based on your faith.
00:12:21.360 And so, no, dressing like the Fresh Prince is not wrong.
00:12:25.040 Now, if I'm worshiping the devil, yes, that is wrong, but I am not doing that.
00:12:30.680 But are you worshiping the fresh prince?
00:12:33.580 No, he might slap me.
00:12:35.220 So I'm going to stay away from that.
00:12:37.540 But in all seriousness, I think some people get so legalistic about these things.
00:12:42.960 And so, no, you should not dress like a demonic entity.
00:12:45.680 You keep it lighthearted, and I think it's okay to do that.
00:12:49.480 It's not a sin to do it.
00:12:50.420 It's a stumbling block for you. 0.98
00:12:51.660 If you are someone who's a new Christian and you were in some type of paganistic situation before, you probably shouldn't do it. 0.96
00:12:58.980 It's just like, you know, if you're a recovering alcoholic, you probably shouldn't go to a bar, you know, the day after you, you know, go to AA. 0.96
00:13:06.120 Maybe a few years later, you can handle it.
00:13:08.600 But it's a stumbling block for you right now.
00:13:10.820 And so if it's a stumbling block, then absolutely don't do it.
00:13:14.920 And that's my whole point. 1.00
00:13:16.420 I'm not saying Christians should do it. 1.00
00:13:17.560 don't go out of your way to do it. But if you're going to, then it's not a sin, because you're not 1.00
00:13:23.880 doing something outside of your faith. Yeah, I just don't think dressing up like, you know,
00:13:28.120 Spider-Man is necessarily, it just depends what you're doing. And, you know, if there's anything
00:13:34.220 I've learned throughout the course of this show, you touched on it a moment ago, intent, intent,
00:13:39.000 especially with the spiritual realm, really matters. What are you intending here? And if
00:13:43.440 your intent is to hit the town with your kid dressed like a couple of superheroes i don't i
00:13:48.340 don't think that that's going to be this this huge issue and especially for my cousin the last thing
00:13:52.820 that i want to do is even get him thinking about that all i want for him is to be thinking about
00:13:58.700 god in a real sense as someone who cares and loves him and wants a relationship with him and is
00:14:04.940 calling him and you got to work on that so if you're going to go out and and you know have a
00:14:10.020 drink at the bar or whatever do you he does like a karaoke thing and you're gonna dress up and you
00:14:13.900 and your fiance are gonna do a thing at that whatever man i don't care about that because
00:14:17.600 halloween's gonna be over in a week and i just want to hope that in a month i can start to talk
00:14:22.800 to you about god and you're like yeah man it's been on my mind a lot it's been on my heart a lot
00:14:25.700 i've been walking a little bit closer i've been doing this i've been looking at the bible like
00:14:28.800 and then for as far as i'm concerned halloween is in the rear view i just need you to get right
00:14:34.360 with the lord right yeah and remember we talk about this in a spiritual warfare course you 0.98
00:14:40.860 have the authority you are not subject to them you have power over them this shit this you know 0.99
00:14:46.320 why halloween is a joke because the entities that are around it are a joke they're not we have power 0.98
00:14:52.100 over them so i'm not going to run scared from from if i see people you know actually doing some kind
00:14:58.640 of demonic thing i'm like oh my god this is going to affect me no it's not i have jesus in my heart
00:15:01.820 Jesus and the Holy Spirit who lives inside of me is more powerful than whoever is out
00:15:07.020 there worshiping the devil.
00:15:08.640 Greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world.
00:15:11.700 So I'm not saying you should go out and assault people scripturally if they're out in the
00:15:17.240 woods doing their thing, unless that's what God puts on your heart.
00:15:19.960 But I'm saying, don't be afraid of it.
00:15:21.220 That's really what I'm...
00:15:22.060 Don't be afraid.
00:15:23.520 You have no reason to be afraid of this.
00:15:26.240 And as long as you have the right mindset and you're not taking this seriously and you're
00:15:30.720 not going out and worshiping the devil.
00:15:32.940 And again, you want to go out dressed like a superhero,
00:15:34.640 then it's not a sin.
00:15:36.880 You don't have to.
00:15:37.920 No one's saying that you need to do it,
00:15:39.400 but I'm saying that it's not a sin if you do.
00:15:41.520 Just like with Paul, eating the meat sacrifice to idols.
00:15:44.280 That's what I always go back to.
00:15:45.680 He didn't do it because it was a stumbling block.
00:15:47.380 Not because eating the meat sacrifice to idols
00:15:49.620 is going to affect him.
00:15:50.880 He's a Christian.
00:15:51.720 He has the spirit of God. 1.00
00:15:52.520 It's just meat.
00:15:54.040 But to someone who sees Paul doing that, 1.00
00:15:56.220 who's a new Christian, 0.96
00:15:56.800 and they'll say, hey, you know what?
00:15:57.940 This great apostle is over here
00:15:59.400 eating meat sacrifice the idols that's a stumbling block that's why he that's why he said he was he
00:16:04.180 wouldn't do it but otherwise it wasn't a big deal yeah my my kids recently asked me uh i think we
00:16:11.100 were at walmart or something they saw the halloween costumes and they would go they said uh are we
00:16:15.720 going to celebrate halloween this year and i was like hmm like that's an interesting phrase that
00:16:21.300 you use celebrate i said no we're not going to celebrate it i don't know if we're even gonna
00:16:27.380 to like if you guys dress up well i don't know whatever but we're not celebrating and i explained
00:16:33.040 to them like in walmart for a long time i was like this is like a different type of holiday
00:16:38.380 it's like a pagan holiday when you celebrate a thing you are honoring the intention of it
00:16:45.760 and i was like if you guys if your mom decides that you guys want to dress up and go
00:16:49.380 trick-or-treating then fine uh and they they kind of understood what i was getting at and i i don't
00:16:55.280 i don't even think we're going anywhere this year what day is it on uh it's saturday yes it's
00:17:01.680 saturday yeah i don't know like i and i can tell you guys right now my kids are getting older you
00:17:06.280 know my they're in they're in seventh and fifth grade now they don't even want to trick-or-treat
00:17:10.420 with us they're they're going this year for the first time they're not going out trick-or-treating
00:17:14.100 with us they're going to out with some of their school friends too i could we're dropping them
00:17:17.740 off in a couple of about 10 miles away in another city and they're going to hang out with their
00:17:22.420 friends and i can tell you and they probably won't even want to do that in a couple years
00:17:26.160 once my kids are done i'm my wife and i aren't gonna dress up for halloween anymore probably
00:17:30.380 just you know be at home doing what we do because i'm not it's not a it's not a deal i'm only i'm
00:17:34.060 doing it for my kids or was doing it for my kids and the only reason we even have the whole fresh
00:17:38.240 prince thing is because our next door neighbors invited us over for a party that's all we're
00:17:43.180 hanging out with friends we're you know having some food and some drinks and we're all just
00:17:46.600 gonna laugh at each other's costumes there's no devil involved there's no satanism involved
00:17:50.800 and that's it and again probably in a couple years when my when my kids completely outgrow it then
00:17:55.900 we're not doing anything for halloween yeah i um i mean i i look forward to being older and
00:18:04.420 getting the knocks on the door and giving the candy out to the kids and you know little kids
00:18:08.780 in their costumes and everything but like your kids uh top they're so little i'm imagining like
00:18:14.260 your daughter dressed up as like a princess and your son dressed up as a knight and they're just
00:18:18.540 going and getting candy like i'm like that is very far from the mark of you know there are actual
00:18:24.340 which is actual pagans that look at this as a significant moment in the year where they do
00:18:29.740 ritual and they do sacrifice and they do ceremony then this is meaningful for them and that is
00:18:35.740 intent you know in a huge way whereas the kids going and collecting candy i'm not so sure that's
00:18:41.400 that's like the thing that i was really thinking about because they're like celebrate halloween i'm
00:18:45.520 like we celebrate christmas and i celebrate it by putting a tree up in my house and we give gifts
00:18:50.640 on this december 25th or you know we open them on the 24th and i was like so celebrating halloween
00:18:55.940 like you mean like putting up decorations on my house like i'm not doing that so if i don't put
00:19:01.840 up is there still an echo i i don't know if anybody else is perceiving it i'm watching the
00:19:05.920 chat if anybody else hears the echo um well the one that was on me is not there anymore the one
00:19:10.860 i was hearing earlier so okay um so anyway like i was saying uh i'm not gonna do the decorations
00:19:17.860 but then i also don't participate in the holiday of like don't knock on my door i'm not giving you
00:19:22.840 candy because i'm not celebrating this holiday like this is like not so then i'm not doing it
00:19:29.000 because i ain't buying candy well yeah i'm either getting free candy which my son doesn't eat
00:19:33.600 chocolate so that works out for me he likes the the fruity sour candies i'll eat the chocolate
00:19:38.420 it but as far as like you know at this stage at least i can see when i'm older but at this stage
00:19:43.000 i'm not getting up every five minutes to answer the door and then give you the it's just not i'm
00:19:46.500 not doing that's that's like a participation in the celebration i was like so i don't i don't even
00:19:50.900 know what that means but then i started thinking about like what does it mean when other people
00:19:54.000 are celebrating it and then you go to their house like i'm like what kind of person yeah
00:19:58.060 decorates the outside of their house with like the 50 foot skeleton you see at home yeah a lot
00:20:03.540 in our neighborhood that thing is like six hundred dollars i'm like you don't have anything better to

00:21:41.500 Black people aren't doing it. 1.00
00:21:42.760 They're not doing that. 0.99
00:21:43.020 This is a white people thing. 0.96
00:21:44.360 There are white people whose houses I've been in where it's almost permanently decorated for Halloween all year round. 0.97
00:21:50.980 There is a love and admiration for horror and spooky things that comes from, I grew up in a white household. 0.96
00:21:57.520 Spooky things were like a really big deal. 0.99
00:21:59.420 I think black people know better. 1.00
00:22:00.380 i think they just well i can tell we we don't have yeah yeah we don't have any yeah so maybe 0.98
00:22:06.020 i guess i'm i'm proof of concept because we don't have any the 30 foot uh skeletons but i will
00:22:10.620 what's interesting is that in our neighborhood yet almost all the houses are decorated for
00:22:13.840 halloween but when christmas comes around maybe 30 percent have a similar level of intensity of
00:22:19.880 decoration really well of course i live in northern california too so keep that in mind
00:22:24.500 well that is interesting when when people go like super hard like as a kid i would appreciate it you
00:22:29.100 show up to somebody's thing and it's like you look at it i can't even be bothered to put up like
00:22:32.600 strings you know string lights or whatever but you look at some people's houses like you did a
00:22:36.600 whole ass haunted house and some people do that too they like a setup they'll have like an actual
00:22:42.520 haunted house where you got to go through some stuff corridors they put up on their lawn very 0.97
00:22:46.480 familiar with it have always seen that it's always white people so is that like a celebration then
00:22:50.180 of like the dead right interesting i don't know what it is it is weird because it becomes like
00:22:55.960 an idol in a way yeah it's interesting that christmas is more controversial up here where
00:23:01.940 i live than halloween because you know if you if you put out christmas decorations oh that's a
00:23:06.120 christian thing that's a religious thing we don't like religion religion religion bad halloween
00:23:10.460 no problem that's interesting it's yeah so it's very much a cultural thing yeah i mean uh i mean
00:23:16.700 christmas is another question too where it's like you know the intent it comes down to the intent
00:23:21.420 and the way that i so what is the intent of halloween that's what i'm like what's the intent
00:23:25.160 of halloween like that's what i'm trying to like understand yeah as and my kids really opened up
00:23:29.980 that question to me when they when they asked that if we're going to celebrate and i was like
00:23:33.440 so the intent for for halloween is very similar to the intent of uh christmas if you remove
00:23:41.060 the spiritual connotation at least and it is you know gluttony basically it's a it's a communal
00:23:48.580 get-togethers like it's you know like well because christmas is as is marketed and has
00:23:55.460 been successfully turned into the highest consumerism season of the year you know to the
00:24:03.120 extent that um all stores are setting up their sales for in and around this time um every every
00:24:12.280 you know anything that has a product that's going to be marketable which is virtually everything
00:24:17.000 right during the christmas season is gearing up this is the final quarter right this is the final
00:24:22.880 stretch the very last though all of your ad revenue gets dumped everything has they spent a
00:24:27.720 long time in america you know with the idea of santa and coca-cola and the polar bears and all
00:24:33.440 this stuff setting this as a an idol to consumerism so yeah baseline but it's not just it's not just
00:24:41.280 consumerism like what i'm asking is deeper than uh deeper than like this superficial thing of like
00:24:47.080 we're gonna we're gonna buy stuff and make it look this way when you buy it and you make it
00:24:51.000 look this way how uh christmas is one way you buy the christmas stuff that's soft warm lights or
00:24:56.940 color lights it's like it seems cozy and home like like family it's like but uh the main course
00:25:05.020 to thanksgiving thanksgiving was like the it's kind of like that like the appetizer and then
00:25:09.000 christmas is the main course yeah if jesus is discarded during christmas when people are
00:25:13.240 decorating still then okay your intention here is something that is like uh friendly
00:25:19.120 right right in your house like a grave site and and no matter if you're not thinking i don't care
00:25:26.000 if people aren't thinking about it consciously i'm like what exactly are you doing i think when
00:25:30.620 i think it gets down to some of our base human needs slash instincts so because i i knew an
00:25:37.940 atheist who would celebrate Christmas. And I would ask, I asked him, okay, well, if you don't believe
00:25:41.400 in God, you don't believe in Jesus, what, why do you even celebrate Christmas? And they said, well,
00:25:45.140 you know, it's just a time of goodwill and cheer and thinking about others and being thoughtful
00:25:49.540 and that sort of thing. Thanksgiving, same thing is, you know, to be thankful for, you can, you
00:25:53.660 know, cause Thanksgiving has a quasi Christian connotation to it, if the origins of it, but it's
00:25:59.140 just a time to be thankful for what you've got, for what you've received, you know, for, and hang
00:26:03.080 out with family then halloween is another basis we have a base instinct about things like mystery
00:26:08.700 and the forbidden that is just a a deep-seated i want to say longing it's it's a deep-seated
00:26:14.820 aspect of our of who we are as human beings we want the mystery we want we want to be frightened
00:26:19.640 we we know we want to get into things that we don't understand it's also part and we're tantalized
00:26:25.140 by it say again partying like so especially like partying years it was like partying was like oh
00:26:30.680 Yeah, that's what it was. It was an excuse to actually it's an excuse to get into some of your baser instincts, because what are Halloween parties like when you're 20s in your 20s?
00:26:38.980 You're getting drunk. You're going to try to get laid. Yeah, it's just it's an excuse for you to say, I'm going to like, how does the how do the girls dress?
00:26:45.580 You know, it was either sexy nurse or a cat, you know, a sexy kitten or something. 1.00
00:26:51.680 That's how they dressed. Yeah, they wouldn't dress like that normally.
00:26:54.040 It's just, it's allowing them, not just women, men as well, it's allowing us to kind of have an excuse to celebrate or embrace our baser instincts.
00:27:03.820 I think that's really what it's about.
00:27:06.000 Yeah, so therefore, the baser instinct is always calling you to this weird place.
00:27:10.920 It's never anything good.
00:27:12.300 The base instinct of Christmas or Thanksgiving is something completely different.
00:27:17.300 People are aimed at family, something that's generally good.
00:27:21.380 for halloween it's like that that man it's like it really i don't want to be the guy that's like 0.95
00:27:26.020 fuck halloween but nah i guess i will be and you can be i mean there's as i said there is no 0.93
00:27:31.780 obligation to to celebrate or even to think highly of it if if it's on your heart that you and your 0.98
00:27:36.960 family don't do anything then don't absolutely not exactly what i talked about if god's convicted
00:27:41.780 you if it's a stumbling block if it's something that you don't want to be a part of then like
00:27:44.860 you got to listen to that i'm just going to make the argument for it that it's like this seems kind
00:27:48.840 of bad on its face like it is calling for it's calling to your inner proclivities of like well
00:27:54.220 covering your face and then we're also having this idea of like sexualization then we're having this
00:27:59.160 idea of like i'm i'm taking things from strangers as well that's like the big one like remember the
00:28:04.520 lady at church i don't like that yeah we smashed that she was giving my kids like creepy well i
00:28:10.460 mean she's a lovely lady uh she's yeah but i don't know you like and and i see you every week but 0.77
00:28:15.680 Like, you're not giving my kids stuff that we're going to bring into my house.
00:28:18.020 That's a no-no.
00:28:19.000 So, like, I threw that out.
00:28:20.580 And I'm just kind of like, all right, I'm taking things from people who are knowingly celebrating in this spirit.
00:28:26.700 And it's like, I don't know, man.
00:28:27.860 Well, what's interesting is the juxtaposition between the two.
00:28:30.680 So, who are we talking to?
00:28:33.120 Zach of the Berean Files, where he said, horror movies are the only type of media that has a clear good guy and bad guy, which I thought was an interesting observation.
00:28:43.680 observation and i and i tend to agree mostly with that assessment is like there's never a like you
00:28:49.240 know if you have an uh uh any other movie that the the hero often think about like um i know it's not
00:28:54.260 a movie but think about breaking bad or like your main character has incredibly questionable morals
00:28:59.760 and is in fact a horrifying person that you're right like that doesn't happen in horror films
00:29:03.960 you very much know who the good guy uh who the victim is who the bad guy is christmas and halloween
00:29:09.760 are kind of set up in a very similar way where um once again i think it's intense so i'm not even
00:29:15.040 really dunking on christmas what i'm saying is like halloween makes no qualms it's not trying to 0.77
00:29:19.620 be uh anything other than this holiday that is about spooky evil shit i mean that's kind of on 0.97
00:29:26.400 its face what halloween is if you really want to reduce it which isn't that hard to do at all 0.91
00:29:30.080 but christmas gets a little bit weird because of all the symbolism that's hidden within you have
00:29:36.040 the idea like the trees are an homage to nimrod you have right nick which is a euphemism for satan
00:29:42.880 he's you have you have the yule you have the yule lock the yule is chaldean for child and you burn
00:29:48.400 this thing yeah so there's like there it's like this trojan horse which i'm not cozy it is cozy
00:29:53.560 but i'm not saying that that really matters because i think what matters is your intent
00:29:57.700 like if you're getting together on christmas and you're celebrating your family and you're
00:30:00.420 celebrating jesus christ and you're grateful and you're showing gratitude and all this stuff like
00:30:03.760 i honestly believe that that trumps it however the way that they're set up is like think about
00:30:08.640 the idea that old nick which is a euphemism for satan can give you the material desires of your
00:30:15.120 heart right he has the ability to give you the world which is very interesting like there is this
00:30:21.740 there's layers upon layers uh in christmas that are obfuscated like a trojan horse whereas
00:30:27.540 is just on its face right it is um that's the thing it's like on its face it's like you were
00:30:32.960 trying to scare kids and here's some candy like what the hell is happening when kids get scared
00:30:36.840 that really makes me i love it they turn and run inside hit a wall on a trip yes i love it i know
00:30:42.800 i probably shouldn't but like i'll see a video where like people are in the comments and they're
00:30:47.040 like that mom played a scary prank on her kid and that's not right and the kid was really scared
00:30:51.380 because she wore a mask and i'm like ha ha you little brat i don't know for some reason i just
00:30:56.780 really enjoy that but i do think that that's fascinating that on its face halloween is this
00:31:01.540 one thing outwardly and if you start to dig into it it's like you only find more of that it's like
00:31:06.700 okay it looks like a spooky holiday about demons what what let's look into it it's like okay pagans
00:31:11.680 and witches are actually doing ceremonies and rituals on this this is like like the more you
00:31:16.420 dig the more it just is exactly what it is on the surface all the way to the center whereas christmas
00:31:21.760 is like layered upon layered of like there's the deception layer but there's also the family
00:31:27.680 there's also the christ like there are christmas songs that are um i think old holy night yeah
00:31:33.200 uh an incredibly um like biblically accurate banger you know what i mean like that's a song
00:31:40.960 that's really great but then you have like i saw mom hooking up with santa claus or whatever and
00:31:45.200 then you have the consumerism like we talked about with the coca-cola and the polar bears and
00:31:48.720 everything that's around like it is it's really a bizarre holiday that i'm a huge fan of 1.00
00:31:54.800 he does love his vagina 0.99
00:31:58.100 so yeah i mean it's fascinating 0.99
00:32:03.580 it is and i mean just to to wrap it up i just i would just say that
00:32:08.900 i'm not advocating for celebrating halloween at all but what i am saying is that if it's a
00:32:15.300 stumbling block don't do it but if you are going to go out with your kids and get and get candy
00:32:20.940 make sure it's unopened you know examined which we do we actually examine the candy before that
00:32:24.180 to get seated, then I don't think, then I don't think God sees it as a sin. And that's really
00:32:29.060 what I, what I want to emphasize before people jump on me like they did last year.

00:34:10.620 I find Ed to be a wholesome, good dude who's helped me in my walk and helped me in my closeness to God.
00:34:18.800 One of the most controversial people on the internet.
00:34:22.280 Yeah, I'm going to address like the huge controversy
00:34:25.560 that we've been talking about the last couple episodes.
00:34:27.160 I want to basically close the circle
00:34:29.860 on God's omniscience and Calvinism.
00:34:33.140 So because people crashed out hard
00:34:36.400 the last time I was on and talked about that.
00:34:38.540 And I mean, going into my comments, in my emails, 0.97
00:34:42.560 one lady actually became a Patreon member 1.00
00:34:46.120 just to chew me out. 1.00
00:34:47.180 Then she canceled her membership. 0.76
00:34:48.100 i'm like oh thanks for the 10 bucks that was dumb but it was it was that that that intense and
00:34:52.900 because of that not because i i have a problem with the criticism or anything like that per se
00:34:58.740 i don't have a problem with legitimate criticism but i think i need to explain things very well
00:35:04.260 because i want to make sure that people know what i'm saying exactly because a lot of people
00:35:08.420 misquoted me or misconstrued what i said and and if you and if you're going to do that that's fine
00:35:13.380 but make sure you're actually saying what i said not what you think i said and i don't want to put
00:35:18.660 people in a position of not knowing what i actually mean so i and i want i want to close the loop on
00:35:23.720 that and then we can never talk about it again or we can i don't care i will we'll we'll close the
00:35:27.300 loop on that um i i will say now that you mentioned it yeah uh there are people on twitter i it's
00:35:33.840 just because like you scroll twitter and you're like oh this guy this guy really hates ed maver
00:35:37.260 on twitter ed's not really even on twitter but they're like hey hey hey that guy they're finding
00:35:42.380 me out like and okay so you've touched on something people don't like you know wait
00:35:46.660 wait wait while we close the loop i just want to talk about red heifers real quick uh red
00:35:50.720 okay okay while you do that it was fake i want to we did we have to do an honorable mention
00:35:55.400 yeah thanksgiving never never in the crossfire oh yeah thanksgiving is great you get together 0.99
00:36:00.880 eat a bunch of delicious shit it's all good people go but we killed the native americans i go they 0.99
00:36:05.140 deserved it not touching that really quickly i'm controversial enough pastor botched another uh 1.00
00:36:13.260 rapture claim october 12th or 13th that was 20 days ago how am i supposed to prepare for these
00:36:17.980 things i don't even know they're happening well they're just constantly it's a constant cycle
00:36:20.660 yeah that's it if you're constantly shooting you're gonna somebody's gonna be right eventually
00:36:24.300 this guy has a whole church damn he's doing well does he still have a whole church i'm actually i'm
00:36:28.540 kind of excited to get into this ed where do you want to uh where do you pick up on this so what 0.97
00:36:33.620 On the whole, the date setting?
00:36:35.460 Yeah.
00:36:35.940 No, no, not the date setting.
00:36:36.960 Forget about that.
00:36:37.580 That's okay.
00:36:38.860 I want to know.
00:36:39.900 We just got that out of the way.
00:36:41.160 Is that what that was?
00:36:41.620 Yeah, because we wrote it in the title.
00:36:42.800 We put it in the title.
00:36:44.100 So there you go.
00:36:45.160 Well, let me just say really quickly,
00:36:46.800 everyone who sets a date has a 100% failure rate.
00:36:50.920 So just stop.
00:36:51.900 Stop doing it.
00:36:52.680 And here's the thing.
00:36:53.180 If you are truly convinced of this,
00:36:55.360 of that you have the right date and you put it out there,
00:36:58.320 okay, go ahead and do it.
00:37:00.140 But when it turns out that you're wrong,
00:37:01.880 at least have the integrity to come back and say, I was wrong. My bad. My problem is that people
00:37:08.120 who make these claims never come back and admit they were wrong. Yeah. Also, the funny thing
00:37:14.080 about this claim is this pastor got it wrong in September, then said, no, no, my bad. It's October
00:37:19.320 12th. They love that. They love that. The other thing that they do, the Jehovah's Witnesses did
00:37:25.720 this, where they predicted it, they predicted it. They kept saying, oh, sorry, we got to push it 0.99
00:37:29.240 back push it back push it back eventually they stop pushing it back which i'm a fan of and they
00:37:32.960 go it happened actually people went what did it happen and they go well it was a spiritual rapture
00:37:39.080 yeah book called millions now living will never die because even though you can't tell you're now
00:37:46.420 in your heavenly body and you're gonna live for a super long time and then i don't know what 30
00:37:51.800 years later people went like yo honestly i have ass cancer now uh supposed to be my heavenly body
00:37:58.100 what's going on with that and they just went no it's gonna be fine now because that was in 1914 0.96
00:38:03.000 i believe uh everybody there is a million all of them are dead uh so yeah oh there you go
00:38:09.120 not a not a bot if they're dead they'll never be alive or something like that they're all name of
00:38:13.180 the book um yeah so i want to get into this but before we do get into this uh we'll start off
00:38:18.840 with something like what do you think your is the most accurate criticism but before we find out
00:38:23.100 what that is you should tell people where they can find you oh right that that way they could
00:38:28.000 send you hate mail here you can see me tell you yeah send me all all the hate mail as long as you
00:38:31.760 join my patreon you can you can like yell at me all you want for the low low price of ten dollars
00:38:36.080 a month um so this is where you can find me on faithbyreason.net newly revamped um and you go
00:38:44.000 to faithbyreason.net that's where that's my legacy site that's where all my material is that i've
00:38:47.460 been doing for the last x number of years and this new page that i just had created is my welcome
00:38:52.380 page, faithbyreason.net slash welcome. This is where you can get every, all the information
00:38:57.500 about me, where, where to find me, where my social medias are, everything I have available,
00:39:02.140 the spiritual warfare course, which is going fantastically. Um, I've got some testimonials
00:39:06.560 that, um, some of the, some of my students are giving me that are going to be posted
00:39:09.740 up there. Oh yeah. Yeah. There they are. And my, my books, um, I just, oh yeah. My sleep
00:39:16.280 meditations. Oh yeah. I have a brand new sleep meditation that is out. Is it up there? Um,
00:39:23.120 No, I think it's at the top.
00:39:24.960 Because the newest one I have is about breaking covenants.
00:39:28.640 You have to go, it's on the homepage.
00:39:30.640 I actually have to get that there.
00:39:32.100 But if you go here, you can also get a free book.
00:39:35.800 Oh, yeah, here's the latest one.
00:39:37.040 Oh, it's at the top here?
00:39:37.260 What's the point?
00:39:38.520 Yeah.
00:39:39.300 So that whole book is essentially the, I want to call it the doctrine of faith by reason.
00:39:44.700 If you read this and you understand what, you know, what I stand for, what I'm all about.
00:39:48.380 I get people asking me all the time, you know, what's your statement of faith?
00:39:50.540 and that sort of thing because people want to know before they want to want to interact with
00:39:55.020 me well here you can click there and you can get a free ebook and that will let you know where i
00:40:01.420 stand on things and what my philosophy is but the latest sleep meditation is on breaking covenants
00:40:08.140 and the first one was spiritual protection when you're under attack this is how this is about
00:40:13.280 breaking um hidden covenants that you might have in your life that you may not even be aware of
00:40:18.920 And you can go to sleep with this and it will, you know, again, get you into a good restful sleep.
00:40:26.100 And you will also, and this is, you can also learn, you know, about covenants and how to break them.
00:40:30.740 This is an important part of the spiritual warfare course.
00:40:33.420 And so I wanted to make that available.
00:40:34.660 It's free on YouTube for 90 minutes.
00:40:38.480 If you want the whole eight-hour version for the last through the night, you can click there as well.
00:40:42.100 And it can show you how to get that.
00:40:44.880 Excellent.
00:40:45.460 And I love the look of the site too, man.
00:40:47.160 Everything is coming together.
00:40:48.920 yeah it's all together and of course my patreon is there as well um if you want to support me on
00:40:55.960 patreon in addition to you know supporting me and keeping things going you also get all new content
00:41:01.080 first content drops there first you can go to the q a's and i am asked answer your questions
00:41:06.460 do videos on that you can be a part of the bible study every month we go through the entire bible
00:41:11.560 in one year 12 months from the supernatural point of view and again we have great listeners who are
00:41:18.040 there who are on on with me every um every third sunday of the month and we are just we just wrapped
00:41:22.980 up the series on jesus um the two-month series on jesus and we're heading to the church and we're
00:41:27.360 going to finish with the church then we do revelation and then we're going to start all
00:41:30.060 over again so yeah that's so just faithbyreason.net slash welcome you get you can see everything that
00:41:36.480 i've done everything i'm doing and all the places to find me excellent so yeah please forward your
00:41:40.880 mail to there not to nephilim death squad or top lobster yeah um oh and i will and i will be a
00:41:46.320 truth or truth or con so if you want to hey that's right i almost forgot guys by the way if
00:41:51.280 you're listening because it turns out that uh and i'm gonna brag about this every single day
00:41:54.540 until we go to truth or con that nephilim death squad has moved the most tickets to truth or con 0.90
00:41:58.740 so it turns out there's gonna be a lot of dangerous retards i saw that ed sold at least 0.89
00:42:02.260 one let's go comment they didn't even put they didn't even put him on the thing and he's selling 0.94
00:42:05.700 tickets yeah there we go get these other people off there um so so what i think would be really
00:42:11.500 fun is if somehow people had an identifier like if you can just get a name tag that says i because
00:42:16.220 i want to see you and i'm not going to know that you're a listener of our show if you could have 0.74
00:42:20.840 something that says like i'm a dangerous retard or nds fan that would be super cool i i think that 0.78
00:42:25.640 would be dope and then um you know that way we would be able to touch your face not not at the 0.81
00:42:29.820 time no no don't do it anymore not like that not like when people touched his face last time so
00:42:36.660 well if you wash your hands it's a different thing but if you i don't know i don't know what
00:42:40.260 your hands mean you might have been scratching things i don't want to i don't know 100 been
00:42:43.120 especially in florida it's humid it's not it's not very they were they were scratching things
00:42:47.280 i'm sorry let's let's get into uh what people have been saying to you uh i want to hear the
00:42:52.400 mean stuff i want to hear the not so mean stuff but i want to hear most importantly the accurate
00:42:57.640 criticisms let's get let's do the accurate criticisms last so what what has been going on
00:43:02.180 what did you say and also how dare you exactly so this started with a q a where someone was
00:43:08.820 asking me a questioning something that i said before about what does god know in advance does
00:43:15.300 god know everything everyone's going to do before they do it and i said no and he kind of crashed
00:43:19.700 out and said well that can't be because god did some prophecy god gives prophecy so how can that
00:43:24.260 you know what's going on with that so i did a whole q a about the error of what's called um
00:43:30.180 well the three omnis you know that come from calvinism we're going to talk a bit about
00:43:33.140 calvinism because this is really where a lot of this stems from because most of our modern church
00:43:37.540 or evangelical what everyone call mainstream christianity come it has a deep deep roots in
00:43:43.060 calvinism even if you're not a overtly calvinistic church i can pretty much guarantee you most
00:43:48.900 churches have embraced certain doctrines of john calvin and it's determinism and god's sovereignty
00:43:56.420 so what how the way i responded was that god does not know the choices that beings with free will
00:44:03.780 are going to make before they make them. And that's really what I said. And I supported it
00:44:08.100 with scripture and with logic. Then people crashed out and started saying things that I didn't
00:44:14.020 actually say. You said, well, you said that God doesn't know the future. God knows prophecy.
00:44:18.480 That's, of course he does. You can't tell me I don't believe in prophecy. Half my ministry is
00:44:23.340 prophecy. I did 60 episodes in Revelation. How in the world can I can't believe, how in the world
00:44:27.020 can I not believe in prophecy? But what I specifically said, I explained how God can
00:44:31.900 prophesy. God can prophesy because he can say what he is going to do with 100% accuracy.
00:44:37.880 So every 100% accurate statement in the Bible that's prophetic either comes from God. God says,
00:44:43.780 I'm going to do this. I'm going to pour out my bowls of wrath. He's going to do it. He's in
00:44:46.680 control of it. No one's going to stop him. I'm going to have them blow the seven trumpets.
00:44:55.020 I'm going to do this. I'm going to lock up Satan for a thousand years. He can say that with 100% 0.97
00:44:59.920 accuracy because he's going to do it. The other thing that God can predict with 100% accuracy is
00:45:05.580 what entities, individuals who don't have a free will or don't act in their free will, he can
00:45:11.600 predict what they're going to do because anything without a free will cannot act outside of their
00:45:18.020 nature. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you understand them. Whoop is the

00:46:46.020 Factor, Canada's number one meal delivery service.
00:46:49.420 Example of this is Daniel chapter 7.
00:46:52.440 Individuals that don't have a free will, what do you mean by that?
00:46:55.860 That means people who refuse to think.
00:46:58.480 That means if you refuse to think, 0.66
00:47:00.180 then you're behaving like an animal.
00:47:01.560 An animal is completely predictable
00:47:02.960 because they don't have a free will.
00:47:05.020 My dog, God rest her soul,
00:47:06.840 and hopefully I'll see her again in the afterlife,
00:47:08.420 whenever the mailman came, she would bark.
00:47:10.800 She wasn't thinking.
00:47:11.680 She doesn't have that cognition.
00:47:13.580 It was stimulus response.
00:47:15.160 And a lot of people who were responding to me
00:47:17.600 the way they were,
00:47:18.340 they weren't basically behaving like animals.
00:47:19.980 There was a stimulus and they responded to it.
00:47:21.340 They didn't think.
00:47:22.000 so i could that's why i could predict what they're going to do and how they're going to say it because
00:47:26.240 they they're not used they're not utilizing their free will people who are worshiping
00:47:30.240 god is this why like uh god god could predict pharaoh in a way because pharaoh is just kind
00:47:37.120 of reacting to this base level instinct he yeah he's not thinking he knows he you can act human
00:47:43.880 beings have the ability to act outside of our nature our nature is that we are not always
00:47:49.180 completely right and just. Globally, God is always and completely right and just. God cannot be
00:47:54.060 unrighteous. God cannot be unjust. Human beings, we are by our nature not righteous and not just,
00:48:00.220 but we can choose to be. We can act outside of it. We want to be comfortable. We want to just coast.
00:48:06.060 That is our nature. And again, that's an animal thought process, as my friend John Lennard would
00:48:11.340 say. When you're in an animal thought process, you're behaving like an animal. But you can
00:48:16.220 can behave like a human. You can think. You can choose to act outside of that, and you can give
00:48:20.660 critical thought to things. You can think instead of react. But when people are voluntarily in a
00:48:26.300 stage where they refuse to think, then they are predictable. This is how people get hypnotized.
00:48:32.200 When you are hypnotized, someone is distracting you by getting into a state where you're not
00:48:36.600 critically thinking. And then they can get you into a hypnotic state, and you're predictable,
00:48:40.900 and they can basically give you those commands when you voluntarily get into that state.
00:48:44.960 but the entities that have been judged the fallen angels the fallen elohim they've been judged they
00:48:51.300 don't have a free will anymore they can't act outside of it that's why in daniel chapter 7
00:48:55.020 when they tell when they proclaim because they have to speak it that's you know we have the law
00:49:00.420 of words you have to speak something in one realm so it manifests in the other in daniel chapter 7
00:49:04.700 these entities are giving their plan for how they want to take over everything it's going to be
00:49:10.000 through four kingdoms, through first Babylon, then Medo-Persia, then Greece, and then the empire that
00:49:15.500 became, it was called an indescribable beast, but it became the empire of Rome. That was their plan.
00:49:21.680 And then they would have this entity called the little horn, who would be their authority,
00:49:25.660 their false messiah. They stated it, and it's going to happen. They cannot diverge from that.
00:49:30.140 And that's why God could judge it in Daniel chapter 7, even though it hadn't happened yet.
00:49:33.680 This was during the Babylonian empire. So four of three more empires are going to come,
00:49:38.280 were going to come to pass and God could judge them in advance because they have saved their
00:49:43.340 will and they can't diverge from that. So that's why God can do prophecy there. What God cannot do
00:49:48.560 specifically, I want to make this clear, is predict every choice that someone with a free will is
00:49:55.280 going to have. Every choice. Listen to my words there. I didn't say he cannot know some of the
00:50:01.980 things we're going to do because he knows the causes that lead to the effects, but he cannot
00:50:06.600 say every one of our choices and one of the one of the examples i give is my wife's favorite ice
00:50:11.640 cream is butter pecan her least favorite ice cream is cookies and cream doesn't like it if we go to 0.77
00:50:16.360 a restaurant and there were two options on the menu cookies and cream or butter pecan i can 1.00
00:50:22.200 predict yeah my wife's gonna pick the butter pecan and nine times out of ten she will 99 times out of 1.00
00:50:26.040 100 but what if one day my wife says you know what i'm gonna try cookies and cream she can do that 1.00
00:50:31.160 that because she has a free will, even though I know the causes. So God can speak general things 0.96
00:50:36.120 up over humanity. For example, he can say in Revelation that all the earth will follow,
00:50:41.320 he's speaking corporately, everyone will follow the Antichrist because he knows our causes.
00:50:46.100 Does that mean every single person is going to choose? No, we know that because there are
00:50:49.720 people who come out of the tribulation who become saved. So that means that he is making a corporate
00:50:56.240 prediction that that's what's going to happen to the world, but he can also say that we can also
00:51:02.980 know that not everyone's going to make that choice. So he can also say that wide is the
00:51:08.540 gate that leads to destruction, but narrow is the path to salvation. He doesn't know exactly who is
00:51:13.800 going to be saved, but he can say that most people won't be because he knows our nature.
00:51:18.460 He doesn't know those. So that's what I said. So let's talk about the crash out that people had.
00:51:24.120 People started saying things like, you're a blasphemer. 0.93
00:51:27.080 You're a heretic.
00:51:28.180 You're this, that, and the other because you're saying that God doesn't know what we're going
00:51:31.900 to do.
00:51:32.800 And what none of these people have done ever is give me a biblical verse, a passage, a
00:51:40.800 doctrine that says the opposite.
00:51:42.800 They're behaving in an animalistic manner.
00:51:45.020 They are just reacting to something that makes them uncomfortable.
00:51:48.900 And if it makes you uncomfortable, my reaction is, good.
00:51:52.620 I want you to be uncomfortable.
00:51:54.380 That's what faith by reason is.
00:51:55.760 It's about making you uncomfortable.
00:51:57.380 I'm going to challenge you.
00:51:58.880 And if you don't want to be uncomfortable,
00:52:00.580 and if you don't want to be challenged,
00:52:01.960 you shouldn't listen to me.
00:52:03.280 You shouldn't because that's my job
00:52:05.240 to make you uncomfortable
00:52:06.200 because I want you to grow.
00:52:08.220 You cannot grow when you are comfortable.
00:52:10.460 If you want to grow your muscles,
00:52:11.720 what do you do?
00:52:12.060 Do you sit on the couch and eat Cheetos and drink beer? 1.00
00:52:14.400 No, you take your lazy ass to the gym. 1.00
00:52:16.180 You start challenging yourself and lifting heavier weights. 1.00
00:52:18.660 If you don't want to do that, you don't have to.
00:52:20.220 but then faith by reason is not for you. Faith by reason is for Bereans. Acts 17, 11. Paul says
00:52:27.320 those in Berea were more noble, more sound-minded, more mature than those in Thessalonica because
00:52:33.300 the Bereans listened to everything with an open mind, but then they searched the scriptures to
00:52:39.400 see if these things were true. If you're going to be a Berean, then you listen. You don't have
00:52:45.540 to agree. Don't agree with me. Search the scriptures and show me where I'm wrong. I've
00:52:49.820 been wrong before i may be wrong i'll be wrong again but show me scripture don't just call me
00:52:54.300 names because then you're being then you are being a thessalonian yeah well that too
00:53:01.620 what do you make of uh as you're talking about this idea of people being like uh
00:53:08.880 empty empty-minded or not thinking i'm thinking about number one you have this idea of meditation
00:53:15.340 and these people are emptying themselves.
00:53:17.480 So this is empty-minded, not thinking.
00:53:21.540 They've made themselves into a vessel for something else
00:53:26.620 that can make them then predictable and controllable.
00:53:30.800 But Jesus also tells the disciples not to think of what to say in that hour
00:53:36.380 because the Holy Spirit will guide you.
00:53:38.700 And in a sense, it's the same sort of technique, right,
00:53:43.460 of like not not thinking so what is like that that principle yeah here's the difference what
00:53:51.400 he's what jesus was jesus was speaking of was grace grace is the divine influence on the heart
00:53:56.060 and it's reflection in life it's the greek word charis it doesn't mean that they're not thinking
00:54:00.440 it means they're allowing the holy spirit to come to to flow through them the holy spirit is going
00:54:05.360 to speak and then they say the words the holy spirit doesn't like puppet their mouths the holy
00:54:09.980 spirit will bring the knowledge into their mind and then they will say what the holy spirit has
00:54:15.240 revealed to them so it requires thinking what he's saying is that you don't know everything
00:54:18.700 the holy spirit can can speak into you and then you can speak what the holy spirit guides you into
00:54:23.820 because jesus said that when he departs the holy spirit will guide you into all truth
00:54:27.880 you know one of the things that got me um admitted i guess i'm at this stage i'm pretty
00:54:34.420 hard to uh piss off because i have like a i do a lot of trolling i deal with a lot of trolls
00:54:41.280 i try to let things get to me but i did get a little bit perturbed the other day because 0.51
00:54:45.520 what i was finding was someone on i think it was twitter was was calling you a liar specifically a
00:54:53.020 liar okay so the issue that i have with that was i didn't see it well so yeah the issue that i had
00:54:58.820 with it was number one um i don't obviously we've had you on the show more than any other guest
00:55:03.780 but still besides that fact I have heard you state more than anybody else I might be wrong
00:55:10.240 if I'm wrong I'm open to seeing the evidence that I'm wrong and I can change my mind it's always
00:55:15.840 been something I was actually going to say it before and then you said it before I got a chance
00:55:20.060 to you only said it moments ago you know that this is just the nature of thinking I think you know
00:55:27.220 expressing these ideas and exploring is that you might be wrong I've been wrong a bunch if I get
00:55:32.700 new information that shows me that's the case what i don't like about the lying thing is that's
00:55:37.340 attributing motive right that's exactly alice and deception instead of can somebody just be wrong
00:55:44.200 and is it inherently this unforgivable evil thing to explore these things and present evidence for
00:55:50.420 the ideas that you've come to evidence that's based in scripture now whether or not that
00:55:54.840 evidence is incorrect you know that's always a conversation that's always that door is always
00:55:58.580 open uh to be discussed but to attribute lies and deception to somebody is like all because you
00:56:06.640 disagree people do think they can't there's this uh cognitive dissidence they can't have this
00:56:11.960 minutiae or this nuance to the situation they go if i disagree with something someone's
00:56:16.900 interpretation of scripture they are therefore evil and a liar and it's like man that is uh 0.93
00:56:23.760 we ran into that uh with the dangerous retards and our interview with uh sean from kingdom in 0.92
00:56:29.640 context matt matt as well it's like uh well sean doesn't believe in the trinity so we ran into 0.97
00:56:36.740 this like idea where i'm like well explain yourself but i i noticed already people were
00:56:41.640 doing it's funny their hackles up right there's level levels to it man i try my best to not uh
00:56:47.940 like with this kind of stuff i'm like okay i understand the character of sean i understand
00:56:51.740 in the character of ed i need to hear what they're saying before i react to it because if you make me
00:56:56.420 react i lose like that's just the game yeah that's what happens when you react you are you're not
00:57:02.160 you're not thinking like a human being anymore and the person who called me a liar i don't mind
00:57:06.660 because it's not hurting me it's actually it's hurting you because jesus says blessed are you
00:57:12.020 when men shall revalue and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my
00:57:15.940 sake rejoice and be exceedingly glad because for great is your reward in heaven so the person who
00:57:19.960 called me that, who's assigning an intention to me that, first of all, he doesn't know I have,
00:57:25.480 can't prove it. And I know I'm not doing it. He's doing it falsely. He can say, you know what? I
00:57:30.600 don't agree with that. Or if he said, I think Ed is lying, he'd be off the hook. If he says Ed is
00:57:36.560 lying, now you have to prove it. If you don't prove it, then you are admitting that you are
00:57:42.220 speaking falsely against me without any evidence. And God's going to hold you accountable for that.
00:57:47.040 God's going to reward me. But the problem is he's going to reward me from you.

00:59:23.200 Right. He's going what he's the reward I get is taken from you because God justice means everything equals out.
00:59:29.560 So if harm is done to me, then God has to repay me.
00:59:33.620 But you did the harm. So God has to take from you to give to me.
00:59:36.260 So if you want to keep giving me reward, go ahead. But you're not doing you're doing yourself a disservice.
00:59:40.340 And that's why I want to want to make everything clear in this episode, because I want people to stop harming themselves.
00:59:46.840 So that's why I'm telling you, if you can't handle this, if you are not, if you are not willing to be a Berean, if you are don't have the maturity and not everyone does.
00:59:55.520 We're in different phases of our Christian growth. Faith by reason is not Christian kindergarten.
01:00:00.240 This is Christian grad school. If you're not ready for it, that's no problem. Don't listen to me.
01:00:04.500 there are others you know watch joel olstein i'm joking there but what i'm saying is watch someone
01:00:10.460 else who is at a level where you are still growing at a rate where you aren't crashing out because i
01:00:16.680 don't want you to listen to me if i'm going to be a stumbling block to you if you are in christian
01:00:22.760 10th grade and i'm talking christian phd i'm not i don't want to let's i don't want to overstate
01:00:27.920 myself if i'm in saying you know christian college you're not ready for it you're not going to do
01:00:31.960 well you won't get there eventually paul talks about that in corinthians right where he's like
01:00:36.580 uh i tried to give you meat but you couldn't take it so i'm just giving you milk because you're like
01:00:40.820 a babe um we're gonna do something real quick because we're having a little bit of issues we're
01:00:45.140 gonna hit the refresh button we're like fill out we're having these echo issues so guys just bear
01:00:49.500 with it'll be like 30 seconds we're just gonna smack refresh we'll be right back let's see what
01:00:54.680 have entered the studio we're back okay hopefully okay so here's what I want to say if this if
01:01:16.580 you're not ready for this it's fine but how will you know what is your reaction when I when you
01:01:22.640 hear something from me or anyone else that doesn't make you comfortable. And I understand the idea
01:01:27.260 that God doesn't know everything, that God's not in complete control of every aspect of everything.
01:01:32.760 I understand why that can make you feel uncomfortable. Actually, wait a second.
01:01:37.780 I saw a comment before. I think it came from G by Jonathan. And he said something that I thought
01:01:46.100 was interesting i wonder if you agree with it he said that god knows um the outcome of every choice
01:01:53.500 but he doesn't know what which one you're going to choose
01:01:56.020 i can see that that's actually actually that's that's pretty astute because the way i think we
01:02:04.720 talked about this when i was there for bro grove me and john we were talking we may have talked
01:02:08.560 touched on the whole gps thing that i know we talked about it at some point where every choice
01:02:14.080 we make, we make, God has a will for us. When we are born, God told Jeremiah, I knew you when I was
01:02:19.940 formed, when you were being formed in your, in your mother's womb. So he knew his character. He
01:02:23.880 knew his, his intangible drivers, as John would call him. He knew what he could do, what his
01:02:29.360 maximum potential was. And what God wants for all of us is to us to reach our maximum potential.
01:02:35.100 He wants us to have, you know, maximum profitability, but we're not because the only
01:02:39.680 way to have maximum profitability is to do what jesus did jesus only did what god told him to do
01:02:44.880 so jesus had maximum profitability we are not none of us do that so there's we're always going to be
01:02:50.380 less than perfect but what god does is every choice we make he can it's like the gps when
01:02:55.140 you're when you're going from point a to point b and you make a wrong turn what happened it
01:02:58.660 recalculates because it knows that okay you're supposed to turn on main street but instead you
01:03:03.260 turned on fifth street okay now i gotta take you over here here here and here to get you back
01:03:08.100 So God knows if he makes his wrong turn, here are the outcomes that are going to happen.
01:03:12.320 Here's how I can get him back.
01:03:13.880 Now, it's going to be less than if you had gone straight down Main Street or make the
01:03:18.040 turn on Main Street.
01:03:19.360 But because you have to go in a circular path, you're going to be less efficient.
01:03:24.000 But God can still get you back on the path.
01:03:26.100 So yeah, I think he made a good point that God knows the outcomes.
01:03:30.460 He knows all the possible outcomes because God has all the information that exists.
01:03:35.080 That's a bunch of crazy, crazy statement.
01:03:37.380 uh lemma bot says uh a llama bot says god knew you were a redditor in the womb imagine that god knows 0.98
01:03:43.980 that this one's going to become a redditor holy crap i don't think he knows that he doesn't know 0.71
01:03:48.140 that god god knows your causes you are in charge of your effects he wants you so desperately god 0.58
01:03:53.480 looks at you as a redditor and goes every time someone's born god goes i hope this one's not a
01:03:59.100 redditor but i don't know i know what happens if he chooses it but i don't know if he's going to
01:04:03.280 choose it yeah i think that that's god knows the cause he doesn't know the effects because we we
01:04:07.720 because we choose the effects and so so um where i was before so what i was saying is that if you
01:04:14.020 can't handle it it's it's it's fine if you can't but if you can't if you are willing to be challenged
01:04:19.600 and if you are willing to grow and and again the way you know you're not is if your reaction is
01:04:25.220 to like you said before um david if the hackles come up the hairs on the back of your neck stand
01:04:31.340 up and you can't think anymore. Before I got my new faith by reason symbol, the tree symbol from
01:04:36.520 top, my previous symbol was just the word think. That's what I'm just think. Don't accept. Don't
01:04:41.320 believe me. Matthew, excuse me, Acts 17, 11 says the same thing. Don't believe a word I say.
01:04:47.260 Listen, then go search the scriptures. I am not telling you what to believe. I am giving you
01:04:52.220 telling you what I believe and why I believe it. And then it is up to you. It is your responsibility
01:04:57.540 to do that. And if you're willing to do that, then I will give you my rationale and I'll give
01:05:03.140 it to you right now. I'll give you the scriptures that show not only does God not know every choice
01:05:10.020 we're going to make before we make it, but if he did know, he would not be the God who we think he
01:05:14.180 is. And the first and the easiest, I think, and the most profound is Genesis chapter 22 with
01:05:21.320 Abraham and Isaac. God told Abraham to go sacrifice your son, Isaac. Abraham agrees. He goes, he's
01:05:29.400 about to plunge the knife into Isaac's belly. God stops him. And then God says, Abraham, now I know
01:05:37.220 that you would not withhold your son to me. So let's don't just read the words. This is a difference
01:05:42.900 between reading the Bible and studying. Let's look at what the word was. That word now in Hebrew is
01:05:47.000 a present participle. It's time-bound. God is intentionally saying, I know something now I
01:05:53.360 didn't know before. This is not Ed Mabry saying this. This is God saying, I know now something I
01:06:00.900 didn't know before. God is saying he didn't know.
01:06:04.600 Gymnastics with that. They go, it's more like he's saying, I forget what the conventional
01:06:11.280 explanation i've heard people dismiss this as like now you know uh meaning now abraham knows
01:06:18.960 what he's capable of or or like what they're doing is they're showing you didn't study all
01:06:24.880 you have to do is look look at the actual word there that's the great thing about the bible
01:06:28.020 being written in hebrew and greek they're extremely precise languages you don't have
01:06:31.500 that wiggle room very precise god literally said i now know present participle time bound you don't
01:06:38.840 get that wiggle room. You can't make it mean something else to make you more comfortable.
01:06:41.960 That's what I'm trying to tell you. Stop trying to make the Bible more comfortable to you.
01:06:46.260 What's more important, what God says or what makes you feel good? Because if your comfort
01:06:52.220 is more important than the Bible, then you're elevating your comfort over the word of God.
01:06:56.040 And I don't think that's a smart thing to do. Yes. I mean, and it makes sense too,
01:06:59.640 within the context of like, this is this, the seed of Abraham is Jesus Christ ultimately,
01:07:05.240 right so this god's plan is to bring to to manifest in the flesh and to buy our salvation 0.94
01:07:13.080 effectively right and so you kind of gotta know like is this dude a real ass dude like is this 0.55
01:07:20.140 the guy that i'm gonna pull the the greatest plan in the history of time right this is this is the 0.80
01:07:27.700 dude whose bloodline i'm going to save the entire world through like yeah i mean you're going to
01:07:33.880 test that guy does god know what jesus is going to do yes because god and jesus are one they are
01:07:40.520 the same mind they have they have the same um they have the same nature they're always completely
01:07:45.800 right and just he knows that that jesus that jesus is only going to do what's right and just and god
01:07:50.680 there they are in perfect union and perfect communication god acted through jesus you could
01:07:57.080 almost see jesus in his physical form as god's avatar like in like a video game if you want to
01:08:01.000 to put it in those terms they they are in perfect sync with each other by the way didn't um mary
01:08:08.240 uh more or less agree to to carrying so it's like what what's even the point there of agreeing
01:08:16.180 you know what i mean like there's and and and again why would god test you if he already knows
01:08:22.360 what's going to happen right now now the counter argument could be well he wants to make sure that
01:08:27.480 you know, okay, great. But again, it doesn't make, the tests that he puts you through are not just
01:08:35.640 for your sake. He needs to know certain things and he doesn't know. And if he did know, then the
01:08:42.020 point is there's no free will. If the Calvinistic worldview is correct, that everything's already
01:08:47.680 happened, God's already seen it, then that brings up some serious problems, which brings me to my
01:08:52.840 next verse. That is in Exodus when Moses is on Mount Sinai getting the Ten Commandments and he
01:09:00.960 comes down and the Israelites are worshiping the golden calf. God does two things that shows he
01:09:06.080 didn't know what was going to happen. One, he gets angry. And number two, he tells Moses,
01:09:12.920 I am going to wipe these people out and I'm going to start a new nation with you. And Moses talks 0.97
01:09:17.900 him out of it. Moses changed his mind. How do you change the mind of someone who knows everything
01:09:24.720 is going to happen? If everything has already happened, that's what predeterminism is. That's
01:09:28.480 what the Calvinistic worldview is, that everything is predetermined. It's happened. How can God change
01:09:32.840 his mind? Because if the counter argument is, well, God would just say that to Moses, but he
01:09:40.000 never intended to wipe the Israelites out. Then God lied. God didn't say to Moses, I'm thinking
01:09:45.540 about it, it was not an if-then statement. God said, I am going to, I will wipe them out and I 1.00
01:09:51.780 will start a greater nation with you. Moses said, you know, God, you shouldn't do that because it's 0.63
01:09:57.960 going to be a bad testimony to you, to the people who are in Egypt and in the promised land.
01:10:04.380 And God said, okay, he changed his mind because Moses had enough value to change God's mind.
01:10:09.480 But God says later, interestingly, after, I believe it's in Jeremiah or Isaiah,
01:10:15.480 forgive me, I didn't have the verse pulled up.
01:10:17.520 God says when he's about to put the Israelites out and he's having them go into exile,
01:10:22.980 he says that if Noah and Moses and Job were still alive, that they couldn't change my mind.
01:10:30.600 Which means that Moses had to be in a position that he could change his mind before in Exodus,
01:10:35.580 but he couldn't change his mind then.
01:10:36.620 so you can't change your mind if everything's already happened and if you and if he did mean
01:10:41.820 that he he was just going to do it differently then he lied to moses when he said i'm going to
01:10:46.580 wipe them out both of those things can't be true and then other thing god got angry
01:10:51.180 if you know everything that's always that's going to happen already you how can you react with anger
01:10:57.500 right that's what i'm talking it's a reaction to anger not being angry about something that's
01:11:01.540 you've already seen you can be angry i can be angry about we know what hitler did with world
01:11:05.560 War II or whatever, but I don't react with anger to it. I don't say this happened. Now I'm angry.
01:11:12.060 God reacted with anger. What is anger? Anger and happiness are your response in context to
01:11:19.760 something either meeting your expectations or coming short of your expectations. Every time
01:11:24.300 you're angry is because someone didn't meet your expectations. Someone cuts you off on the road.
01:11:27.800 You get mad. Why? Because you were expecting them to behave well on the road. They didn't meet your
01:11:32.460 expectations. You got angry. My son, he is great in math. He's in seventh grade. He's testing at
01:11:41.040 the 10th grade level in math. So I expect my son to get an A in seventh grade math.
01:11:46.020 He comes home. He has a C. I'm going to be angry. Why? Because he didn't meet my expectation.
01:11:51.420 But let's say the situation was reversed. Let's say my son was terrible in math.
01:11:55.500 Let's say that he was failing in math, but he studies hard, does the best he can, and he gets
01:11:59.580 a C. I'm going to be happy. Why? Because he exceeded my expectations. The grade is the same.
01:12:05.840 In both cases, there was a C. The context was different. In one case, he didn't leave my
01:12:10.200 expectation. I was angry. In another case, he exceeded my expectation. I was happy.
01:12:15.960 How can God be angry? How can he react with anger or even happiness if everything happens at an
01:12:23.560 expected expected level right just put a bow on this really quick when my when my son was nine
01:12:30.240 months old we were teaching him to walk okay he was just like an average nine months old he was
01:12:34.600 still struggling with it so i go home i go to work one day my wife's at home with him and he starts
01:12:39.060 walking i get home my wife says come to the living room i have something to show you here in the
01:12:43.640 living room and she picks my son up and puts him on his feet he starts walking i'm overjoyed why
01:12:48.380 because i wasn't expecting him to walk and he did but now my son's in seventh grade i expect him to
01:12:53.480 walk. If he comes in the house, I'm not going to say, look at you, my boy. Because he's meeting
01:12:59.480 my expectations. So I'm not happy. I'm not angry. If God knows everything that's going to happen,
01:13:05.100 how can he react in anger or in happiness? If you believe this, if you believe that God knows
01:13:10.640 everything, all the choices we are going to make, you are relegating God to never being happy.
01:13:14.880 So then God doesn't know what Jesus is going to do. Because Jesus gets baptized and then God says,
01:13:21.120 this is my son and I'm like proud of, I'm really proud of him.
01:13:24.380 Well, he said, who am I?
01:13:25.420 Well, please.
01:13:25.800 It didn't mean he reacted.
01:13:26.720 Oh, it wasn't, he wasn't exceeding his expectations.
01:13:28.840 He was just saying, he pleases me.
01:13:30.500 You can be pleased because he, he, basically what he was doing, what God was doing when 0.95
01:13:36.240 he said this, he was anointing Jesus as a smika rabbi. 0.97
01:13:39.600 This is a whole other thing. 0.75
01:13:41.020 A smika rabbi is a, is a rabbi who has the authority to expand on scripture. 0.54
01:13:45.640 and the only way you become a smika rabbi is if two other smika rabbis anoint you so jesus was
01:13:52.460 anointed by god who's a smika rabbi because he can expand the law and scriptures and john the
01:13:58.880 baptist was also a smika rabbi because he could do the same and he was anointed by um by by his
01:14:04.220 father and by the holy spirit so that's what that was about it wasn't him reacting oh jesus i'm so
01:14:08.300 happy you did this i didn't know you were going to do it no he's just saying i'm pleased with him
01:14:12.300 you he is that word pleasing is acceptable so that was an anointing that jesus was getting
01:14:17.100 so god was giving him the authority in public to expand on the scriptures which is what jesus
01:14:24.120 started doing after that um i want to go back to something we touched on before just to clarify
01:14:28.480 not i'm not uh uh doubting the trinity or anything i'm just because there is like a weird it's just
01:14:33.720 a weird thing of like jesus god in the flesh yeah and that god the spirit and god the father
01:14:40.260 They are three, they're one, whatever.
01:14:43.560 They're three, but they are of one nature.
01:14:47.100 All three of them are always incompletely right and just.
01:14:50.400 That's why they're one.
01:14:51.460 One is holy, doesn't mean good or bad.
01:14:54.700 Holy means of one kind.
01:14:57.000 So when it says God is holy, God is of one.
01:14:59.260 And remember, God is not a name, God's a title.
01:15:01.560 So God, Jehovah is God, Yahweh is God, Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God.
01:15:06.900 Because God is a title, it's not a name.
01:15:11.080 So they are three entities, but they are of one nature.
01:15:15.160 When Jesus said, I and the Father are one,
01:15:16.720 he didn't say I and the Father are the same being.
01:15:20.840 He says, I and the Father are of one nature.

01:16:54.220 so uh before we were talking about um mary and i saw shout out to still reserve in the comments
01:17:00.720 because he said that um mary didn't really have a say uh that gabriel told her you have been chosen
01:17:08.320 and this is what you're going to do and she still does outwardly consent right luke 1 38 behold i
01:17:13.960 am the servant of the lord let it be to me according to your word um but that's an interesting
01:17:19.980 idea right like the idea of consenting or declaring that you're in the service of the lord when really
01:17:25.640 you might not have had a choice to begin with so i was just thinking in the context of like well who
01:17:30.080 else has god chosen but then who who failed and immediately king saul comes to mind yeah right
01:17:37.280 so like there are instances throughout scripture where god chooses individuals who don't execute
01:17:43.400 who don't do his will who do in fact fail and in which case god pivots and somebody else will pick
01:17:49.760 up that mantle and continue forward uh i'll give you another example i'll give another example
01:17:54.420 someone jesus chose who failed judas right well did he fail somebody had to do that
01:18:00.080 yeah we're getting into the weeds okay so so i wanted to give so those are two reasons i went
01:18:06.340 and i want to give and i want to give one more that i didn't give last time and i think can i 0.65
01:18:10.700 just say real quick i'm not even doing that to um to shit on still reserve i actually just got
01:18:14.700 me thinking and uh and i thought that was still reserved and fj are asking uh good questions i
01:18:20.360 think like yeah yeah yeah and i have no problem with good questions uh sorry i don't want to cut
01:18:25.560 anyone off but i also don't want to forget fj's question what was that it was from previous before
01:18:30.700 he was asking if god if does god exist outside of time and if he does is he does he have to adhere to
01:18:37.920 it? God is outside of what we call physical time. Does God experience things and can he experience
01:18:45.760 things in sequence? Yes. But our time domain is not the same time domain as God. And I know this
01:18:53.380 is a tough one. This is deep because this is something I struggled with a lot when I was
01:18:57.240 trying to make all this make sense. Because time, as we know, a physical time, according to
01:19:04.400 Einsteinian relativity, time affects and is affected by mass acceleration and gravity.
01:19:13.900 We are affected by time because we have mass and we have gravity. God does not. God is spirit.
01:19:20.240 So that's why God is eternal. So now you have to get into the physics of eternity.
01:19:24.160 Eternity is a constant present. And this is as best we can understand it.
01:19:29.040 So God does not experience a past in that he is bound by it.
01:19:33.560 He experienced that everything is happening.
01:19:35.720 If you're eternal, everything is in a process of happening.
01:19:39.840 So there isn't a past, present, and future in the way that we experience them.
01:19:45.780 It's a constant unfolding.
01:19:47.780 It's like a story.
01:19:48.940 I think I've given that analogy before.
01:19:50.500 And it's clumsy, I admit, because we are bound by time.
01:19:54.400 So it's tough for us to understand how that works.
01:19:56.340 but the best analogy i can give is a story a story is something that when you think about
01:19:59.900 your favorite story it is happening in your mind it is there's no necessarily that's not necessarily
01:20:06.460 a past present and future physically now the people in the movie they're bound by it they
01:20:11.200 they can't get out of it and that and that's how the calvinists see us as this movie that god's
01:20:16.480 already seen but just to clarify here so he still reserve is asking what are the physics of eternity
01:20:22.240 I think Ed is saying that the physics of eternity would be the physics of the spiritual realm, right?
01:20:27.020 Right. Yeah. Gotcha.
01:20:29.660 And do I know with 100% certainty the physics? I do not.
01:20:33.200 I will tell you right now, I don't know everything.
01:20:34.780 I am trying to give analogies to help other people understand it as I'm working to understand it.
01:20:39.740 But what I do know is that if time is only, if our physical time is only affected by things with mass and God doesn't have mass, then he doesn't experience time the way we do.
01:20:50.400 That's really the only thing I can definitively say is God does not experience time the way we do.
01:20:54.360 How does he experience time?
01:20:55.720 I'm still working through that.
01:20:56.900 I wouldn't be surprised at all that you could say that definitively because people themselves have experiences where they're seemingly engaging with time in an inconsistent way as opposed to what they typically are in a day-to-day.
01:21:10.560 You know, you might have this experience or let's just say dreams.
01:21:13.780 dreams are a huge one where it's like you might be asleep for 15 minutes and might have a dream
01:21:19.500 that feels like it lasts days uh no you z-man uh and so yeah i mean time is is um it's an odd
01:21:27.960 construct that we're trapped within i mean it's not it feels natural to us but to try to examine
01:21:32.620 or i'm sorry uh imagine something outside of those constructs is where folks are in the in
01:21:39.860 the same way like uh i don't know so christmas love christmas under the tree love the tree got
01:21:44.340 five trees uh i put my i put the gifts there my kids are trapped in this experience of
01:21:50.300 you ain't opening that nimrod worship number one first and foremost number two you ain't opening
01:21:56.400 that that's a hard place to be as an adult man that's a hard place for me my wife probably brought 0.91
01:22:03.160 my gift with my money oh you get it and then wrapped it and put under the tree and i'm well
01:22:09.220 within my right to go and open that or to look at your bank statements i look at my bank statement
01:22:13.380 i look at the receipts i'll see what i can see but i don't we open it when the time comes because
01:22:19.460 these are the rules and this is what as a matter of fact these are my rules and i've agreed to them
01:22:23.760 and everybody here plays by them if i didn't then it would make me an unjust imagine on december
01:22:30.420 20th i go i'm opening my presents and i go like this to the kids
01:22:33.780 it would be would be crazy like you did that hell yeah let's go there you go
01:22:41.940 but hey if you guys notice that when you are traveling to someplace for the first time
01:22:47.620 that time goes at a different feels different like it slows down yeah and why because again
01:22:54.920 physicists say that time is basically our perception so when you're doing something
01:22:59.080 for the first time your brain is making new connections like the first time you went out
01:23:02.100 with with your your your wife when she was just you know a girl you were dating it seemed like
01:23:06.040 it lasts forever but then when you go out with them the next time it seems faster and faster
01:23:11.480 when you're going because not because things are have changed because your perceptions of it have
01:23:16.220 changed you drive someplace for the first time it seems like it takes a long time to get there
01:23:19.420 you drive back oh happened like that very yeah yeah very quick so that's the thing time is weird
01:23:24.580 and physicists still struggle with it you know you the whole schrodinger's cat thing is the cat
01:23:29.520 in the box alive or dead well it's neither until you open the box and so i swear dude that's like
01:23:34.340 when i hear that i go yeah you can smell it um just give it a week and you'll know without ever
01:23:39.680 opening that box but like i just i that to me is one of those things where i'm not so sure matt
01:23:44.220 says this and i tend to agree with him like philosophy is i think uh showing a kingdom of
01:23:48.140 context also said this philosophy is taking a simple thing and just expanding on it until it's
01:23:53.640 this convoluted nonsense and schrodinger's cat and super positions i think are just uh jewish 0.89
01:23:58.900 nonsense. I am of the belief that when I leave here, David does not exist. You can't prove it, 1.00
01:24:05.100 can you? Every time I fall in the woods and I'm alone, literally nobody hears it. He doesn't
01:24:09.980 text me back. It doesn't matter. Dr. Tibbs, thank you for the money. He asked, couldn't we say God
01:24:15.300 doesn't know the future? He makes the future. Prophecies aren't predictions, they're promises.
01:24:21.360 I don't understand if it's a question or not. Well, I would say first off, he loves that for
01:24:24.060 his vagina. But what do you, what do you think, Ed? God doesn't know the future. I think if you 1.00
01:24:30.400 mean, God hasn't experienced everything in the future. I would agree with that. If say he doesn't
01:24:36.080 know it, but he, he knows what's going to, again, he knows what he's going to do. If so, what you
01:24:40.200 is, I guess it really depends on what you mean by knowing the future. God knows what he's going to
01:24:45.220 do. He doesn't, I don't think God knows exactly when, because this is something I was thinking
01:24:51.420 about getting into in a future show, but I'll just give a little preview of it, is that God's will
01:24:57.160 is for, again, us, everyone's going to, his will is for everyone to be in the New Jerusalem.
01:25:02.020 Everyone's not, it's not going to happen. There's some people going to, who are going to be in like 0.93
01:25:05.400 a fire. So God knows that's going to happen, but I don't think he knows when, because in order for
01:25:09.760 God to bring about his judgments, he has to have enough justice stored up to justly do it. He
01:25:16.720 doesn't know how long that's going to take but he does know that in the future he is going to have
01:25:22.020 these judgments are going to happen and everyone is going to either be in the lake of fire or
01:25:26.320 they're going to be in the new jerusalem but does he know the exact date no because he doesn't know
01:25:31.160 how long it's going to take for him to accumulate enough justice in order for him to act god only
01:25:37.360 acts through justice he does not act randomly he would know if we had no ability to deviate from our
01:25:43.660 our sinful nature, our desires of the flesh, our animalistic nature.
01:25:48.240 If we had no, it would have happened a long time ago, for sure.
01:25:51.120 But if we didn't have the ability to deviate and to actually do something that was against
01:25:55.680 our own nature, then he probably would be able to pick the exact minute where the iniquity
01:26:03.360 filled up and it was time to go in exact justice.
01:26:07.740 But keep in mind, he gets valued two ways.
01:26:10.680 He gets value from evil, and by value, I mean enough judgment value.
01:26:15.820 He could also get it from good, and he gets more from good. 0.89
01:26:18.620 If Christians had obeyed the Great Commission sooner, God would have accumulated enough 0.91
01:26:23.640 value within maybe a couple hundred years. 0.99
01:26:26.260 But because the church keeps declining, it's taking longer because there's more value in
01:26:32.100 doing good things than there's value in doing bad things.
01:26:34.740 It's something that we call dollars versus pennies.
01:26:37.080 If I want to get to $100, if everyone gives me a dollar, I only need 100 people to give me a dollar.
01:26:43.240 But on the other hand, if no one's going to give me a dollar and I have a bunch of people giving me pennies, it's going to take a lot longer.
01:26:48.260 Evil is pennies.
01:26:49.460 Good are dollars.
01:26:51.220 So if the church were doing what they were supposed to do, evangelize the entire world, make disciples of all men, God would say, I have enough value now.
01:26:59.420 I can implement my will.
01:27:01.700 The reason it's taking so long is because of us.
01:27:03.820 god wants god wants the new jerusalem we're the ones holding it up so you think you think there
01:27:11.260 has to be a like a great revival before this happens then are you saying that like the value
01:27:15.900 has to be stored up well it can be a great revival could happen or evil could keep getting worse and
01:27:21.080 worse and and he gets more pennies a great revival would make things happen faster but or it will
01:27:27.880 take longer with more pennies. A great revival would be, you know, five, ten dollars. And the
01:27:33.700 continued evil was just a bunch of more pennies. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop

01:29:10.000 Okay, we have another.
01:29:12.560 Now, Dr. Tibbs, actually a doctor, incredibly wealthy.
01:29:16.180 Thank you for the additional $10.
01:29:17.600 I like this guy, $10.
01:29:19.600 You know what?
01:29:20.420 Staying on the subject of not knowing that things are going to happen
01:29:23.120 and also iniquity and also pouring out
01:29:25.320 wrath. What are you doing? Oh my
01:29:27.320 goodness. This is a quick side
01:29:29.420 aside. A gentleman whose
01:29:31.360 face we're putting on blast.
01:29:33.440 He's got a nice shirt.
01:29:35.260 Yeah, he's got a nice shirt on.
01:29:38.040 I'll zoom in for the people who can't
01:29:39.480 see. This is actually here in the
01:29:41.800 coffee shop slash NBS
01:29:43.520 in my coffee shop. Right. Right in front of
01:29:45.520 my espresso machine. You see
01:29:47.560 the t-shirts he's standing in front of?
01:29:49.520 Yeah. T-shirt there. Somebody
01:29:51.000 took a picture of the design i did oh wow i put it on a t-shirt in the place that i live
01:29:58.940 okay came to the place that we do business wearing the shirt do you have the other version
01:30:06.860 if you can find this by the way this guy has two t-shirts on which is insane behavior i can't
01:30:13.680 figure out you would double up when it was cold but you wouldn't double up t-shirts with t-shirts
01:30:18.460 that doesn't seem smart but this dude literally came in here wearing a shirt that top designed
01:30:24.600 that someone clearly came in took a picture of i wish you could do a side by side because they
01:30:30.200 are identical ones just colorized wow honestly his might be a little bit better i guess i get 0.98
01:30:36.440 why he did it um but damn dude he's like i really like this except for that it sucks 0.95
01:30:41.100 and i would like for it to be better and i could do that sorry i wanted to get that off my chest 0.99
01:30:45.280 It's happened to me many times before, but Chinese people, like Chinese people do it all the time. 1.00
01:30:49.840 In real life? 1.00
01:30:50.880 Yeah.
01:30:51.420 In real life, Ed?
01:30:52.600 How dare you? 1.00
01:30:53.300 The boomers and the entitlement, the entitled nature of the boomers is... 0.99
01:30:58.640 That guy sort of came in and turned around and brought the same t-shirt. 0.98
01:31:02.180 The real one.
01:31:03.080 Literally right behind.
01:31:03.820 Well, I heard that he was actually looking for his size not long ago.
01:31:07.080 And like, for whatever reason, couldn't find his size.
01:31:09.120 And so he was like, well, I'll fix that.
01:31:10.500 Also, I'll put some color on here.
01:31:11.760 Well, he's a boomer.
01:31:12.460 Maybe he'll go wear it on a cruise or something.
01:31:14.380 I'm sure he will.
01:31:15.200 100% people will go, that's a really nice shirt.
01:31:16.980 And he'll go, I'd like to sell you some more.
01:31:18.840 Either way, he'll be hearing from my lawyers.
01:31:20.440 That's right.
01:31:20.800 Our Jewish lawyers.
01:31:22.640 So do me a favorite topic.
01:31:24.180 Do me a favorite topic.
01:31:25.060 You can bring up a scripture for me.
01:31:26.200 Bring up Jeremiah 19.5.
01:31:29.620 Oh, thou shalt not counterfeit t-shirts.
01:31:33.620 Yeah, that's actually, that's an Ezekiel.
01:31:37.340 How crazy is that though?
01:31:38.580 I mean, I just, I think about that.
01:31:40.000 Yeah, that's pretty wacky.
01:31:40.660 Because he purchased it from a woman at church, at his church, which means a woman from his church came here, saw this, took a picture, got it, redone by AI.
01:31:49.960 She did like it, liked it enough to make her own, and then is not going around telling people, hey, by the way, I stole this design.
01:31:56.280 She's going, look at this thing that I made.
01:31:58.680 You're going to love it.
01:32:00.180 Five for $100.
01:32:04.460 So read that for me.
01:32:06.740 Jeremiah 95. 0.53
01:32:07.640 They have built also in the high places of Baal to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it. 0.68
01:32:17.140 Neither came into my mind. 0.66
01:32:18.820 Neither came into my mind.
01:32:20.100 Wait a minute.
01:32:20.680 Think of that.
01:32:22.440 God is saying here, again, looking at the original language, that word mind, it means exactly that.
01:32:27.240 It means mind.
01:32:27.700 It means imagination.
01:32:28.400 It means thoughts.
01:32:29.540 God is saying that this did not,
01:32:34.280 them burning their children is so egregious.
01:32:37.840 I never even imagined it.
01:32:40.680 How can God say there's something he never imagined
01:32:43.620 if he already knew it?
01:32:46.420 That's gotta be pretty upsetting too,
01:32:48.140 to be God and to not imagine it and to watch us do it.
01:32:51.320 Yeah, he's like, this is beyond even thinking, 0.99
01:32:52.760 you guys are burning your kids, you degenerates. 0.97
01:32:55.000 And God is saying here, and by the way, 0.98
01:32:57.300 he says that a couple of other times in Jeremiah.
01:32:58.600 I think it's something similar in, I think it's what did Jeremiah 731, he says, never came into his heart.
01:33:05.280 Something very similar to that.
01:33:07.080 He used his heart there, and I highlighted this one because he said mind.
01:33:11.420 He is saying that he didn't, this was not something he thought about or thought of.
01:33:16.480 It never came into his mind.
01:33:18.020 How does that work?
01:33:19.840 That means they made a choice that God didn't even think of.
01:33:24.600 You're burning your kids, which again, horrible thing.
01:33:26.960 that's what God's saying that this didn't even come to my mind that you guys would do this
01:33:32.800 well if God already knew it then what is he saying here what does that mean so that's part
01:33:38.760 of my challenge explain that to me yeah that's like top creating a shirt and then never having
01:33:46.420 it even enter his mind that an elderly woman would then take a picture of that shirt honestly
01:33:52.280 create you know it's funny somebody i understand how god would feel yeah because it's like i almost
01:33:57.740 fell down when i got it yeah wow it's the prize right beyond the realm of of reasonable behavior
01:34:04.540 you know what we need to do is we need to just make that shirt that version of that shirt and
01:34:10.740 put it on a hanger out there and sell it so when she comes back in she goes wait you're selling my
01:34:15.300 sure imagine then she she sues me oh wow that would that would that would be a great yeah i'm 0.99
01:34:20.700 gonna sue you because you make making money off something i stole from you oh my goodness that
01:34:25.920 is amazing we got to do that that would surprise god that would surprise i was like well i wasn't
01:34:30.260 expecting about that he'd be mad about it yeah how insane that is for god to be you know to be god
01:34:36.820 and to know all that he knows and then to look down and go what whoa what the yeah you got you
01:34:45.240 exceeded my expectations of depravity yeah even i didn't think you guys were going to go this far
01:34:50.220 as to i knew you were going to do the butt stuff is that the only place in the bible that he says
01:34:53.880 that uh that specifically um it's it's in a couple other places in jeremiah because he's talking
01:35:01.120 about because he's rendering judgment on them and this i think this may have been the only time
01:35:05.500 where he where he said it in the bible as far as i i know i did a word search on it
01:35:09.240 where it never came into his mind that doesn't mean the other stuff didn't this is the only
01:35:14.980 time that he said it because he's, he's, he's given this lamentation against, um, against the
01:35:18.800 Israelites. I mean, yeah, that is just a, a fancy way of saying you didn't even think about that.
01:35:23.780 Yeah. So I didn't, you guys, you guys went beyond that. And unless someone says, well,
01:35:27.640 he's just exaggerating. You don't have that wiggle room. Hebrew is very precise. He said,
01:35:32.360 literally, it did not come into my mind. He wasn't speaking poetically here. This was him
01:35:37.980 saying factual things.
01:35:40.400 And there are so many other examples
01:35:42.000 of God doing this sort of thing.
01:35:45.500 He told Jonah to go to Nineveh.
01:35:47.040 He says, in 40 days,
01:35:48.460 Nineveh's going to be destroyed.
01:35:50.540 And that's what Jonah preached. 0.98
01:35:54.440 But then the Ninevites decided, 0.87
01:35:58.000 corporately, God didn't say, 0.77
01:35:59.520 I'm going to do this unless you repent.
01:36:01.160 The Ninevites said,
01:36:02.400 well, maybe if we repent, 0.62
01:36:03.980 God won't do this.
01:36:04.760 So they all repented.
01:36:05.740 And God's okay, I won't do it now.
01:36:07.980 they didn't, God didn't know they were going to do that.
01:36:10.660 God, they changed God's mind, right?
01:36:12.560 Where it's like, will you destroy this city?
01:36:14.260 If there are, what was it?
01:36:15.740 30 righteous men.
01:36:17.340 And he's like, no, I won't.
01:36:18.980 And he's like, well, there's 25.
01:36:21.040 And he keeps going.
01:36:21.880 Like, you think that's all for no reason?
01:36:24.460 Or, you know, is there real consideration there?
01:36:27.880 So here's to wrap up my challenge.

01:37:46.880 long. Go to factormeals.ca and use code POWER. That's
01:37:50.820 up to $90 off and free shipping, but only with the code POWER
01:37:54.920 at factormeals.ca. Factor, Canada's number one
01:37:58.920 meal delivery service. I've given you several verses. I've given you logic. I've given you
01:38:02.940 rationale. If you want to accept the challenge, if you don't, if you still think I'm wrong,
01:38:07.420 that's perfectly fine. But what you need to do, if you're going to really be accurate in this,
01:38:11.100 if you're going to do this in the way that if you're going to be a Berean, you need to show
01:38:14.680 me where I'm wrong with those scriptures, how I've misinterpreted them, how I've got the Hebrew or
01:38:20.060 the Greek wrong. You can do that. Then you're going to have to, after you do that, then you
01:38:24.480 have to give me examples of the opposite. You're going to have to show me in the Bible where God
01:38:30.140 knows not just one or two decisions. He knows every decision and choice we're going to make
01:38:35.320 before we make it. Because I'm not saying he doesn't know everything. I'm not saying he doesn't
01:38:38.880 know some. I'm saying he doesn't know every one of our decisions because we have free will. If you
01:38:43.980 can do that, then I will back down and say, you got it. But I've done a thorough search of the
01:38:50.400 when i can't find it and maybe maybe you know more than me and you have found it great let me know
01:38:55.200 because you'll be making me better and i will publicly come on and say this person got me i was
01:39:00.160 wrong sorry about that i will do what the what the rapture date setters don't do because this isn't
01:39:05.840 about me being right this is about god being right and and us growing and understanding him because
01:39:13.920 i think the problem that a lot of people have with this idea that got that certain things that
01:39:17.680 that God doesn't know. They think it makes God less. That's why the people who call me a heretic
01:39:22.100 and a blasphemer, they're saying that you're taking power away from God. No, I'm only saying
01:39:26.020 about God what he says about himself. And if I'm doing that, how am I diminishing God unless you
01:39:30.560 believe God's diminishing himself? That's why the omnis don't work, the omnipotent, God can do
01:39:35.740 anything. No, God himself says, I can't lie. God himself says, I can't change. And if I say, well,
01:39:41.620 No, God, you can lie.
01:39:43.140 You can change.
01:39:45.700 Who's blaspheming?
01:39:47.440 It's like when Jesus in Matthew chapter 16 was telling his disciples, I'm going to have to go to Jerusalem and die. 0.99
01:39:55.140 Easy, Satan. 0.99
01:39:56.300 I'm going to have to go to Jerusalem and die. 0.99
01:39:59.160 And then Peter says, no, God, Jesus, far be it from you.
01:40:03.140 He says, no, you're not.
01:40:04.560 And what did Jesus say?
01:40:06.140 He said, get behind me, Satan. 0.99
01:40:07.660 You're a burdensome stoner. 0.99
01:40:09.740 I'm misquoting that. 0.99
01:40:11.460 He's basically saying, get behind me, Satan, you're an obstacle in my way.
01:40:16.660 So, again, you're trying to be religious.
01:40:18.760 And that's where religion is.
01:40:19.640 Religion is when we take our beliefs and superimpose them on top of what God said in order to make us feel better.
01:40:26.520 You should not eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
01:40:28.900 Eve, oh, not only should you not eat it, you can't touch it.
01:40:31.800 Look, I just made it better.
01:40:32.820 This makes me feel better.
01:40:34.340 Who cares about how good you feel?
01:40:36.640 God said it.
01:40:37.580 God said, now I know.
01:40:38.980 I didn't know before.
01:40:40.780 God said, my mind can be changed.
01:40:43.740 God gets angry.
01:40:44.900 God has happiness.
01:40:46.520 God has joy.
01:40:47.420 God has anger.
01:40:48.400 God reacts in those ways, meaning that something exceeded his expectation or something did not meet his expectation, meaning that he couldn't have known the expectation.
01:40:58.100 You know, if you go back, by the way, historically, and you look at, let's say, any institution that wanted to monopolize the understanding of Scripture and act as an authority on Scripture, which those things still exist, right?
01:41:12.100 you can't understand it unless you go through the church fathers or the proper channels etc etc
01:41:17.420 they don't tell you hey go and read your bible read scripture and find out for yourself which
01:41:26.060 is something you routinely say on this show is like go and find out for yourself don't just
01:41:29.760 take my word i've literally heard you like you said it in this episode don't just take my word
01:41:33.680 go and look it up and then if you find anything that is to the contrary show it to me right 0.98
01:41:39.300 Because people are going, oh, he's a liar. 0.98
01:41:44.060 He's a false teacher. 0.99
01:41:45.080 OK, OK.
01:41:46.600 He's not saying you're not saying, hey, this is definitively the only interpretation.
01:41:51.340 Take my word for it.
01:41:52.320 There is no take my word for it.
01:41:54.100 You have a Bible in your house.
01:41:56.440 You have the resources.
01:41:58.000 You have the Internet.
01:41:58.880 You have Blue Letter Bible.
01:41:59.860 You have all these things.
01:42:00.640 You can look up the original translations.
01:42:02.100 You could do more than pretty much anybody in history has been able to do.
01:42:05.320 And you're encouraging people.
01:42:06.440 Go and do this.
01:42:07.780 Go and look it up.
01:42:08.540 and if you find something that's to the contrary show me it's such an interesting argument from
01:42:12.800 you ed because it's like you have drawn a quite the definitive line in the sand of free will
01:42:19.560 so this is like the most anti-calvinistic thing anybody could ever say and even the churches that
01:42:25.680 say oh you know we're not calvinist but like like you were saying at the beginning of this episode
01:42:28.980 it's like well well you actually are like if you're attributing to god that he does know
01:42:33.180 then therefore this puts a hole in the boat of whatever free will is supposed to be so what do
01:42:38.260 we even doing here and it's kind of like are you asking us you accept this wholesale or it it's
01:42:45.880 almost like we're in a position now where it's like if you don't accept this wholesale exactly
01:42:49.740 what's being said here that god doesn't know then on the other side we have to then uh this is why
01:42:56.800 it makes people uncomfortable because on the other side of that we then have to say well then god is
01:43:01.060 wants our demise or he sees our demise right lets us be born anyway here yeah because here
01:43:06.840 because you asked me asked me about what did someone who really crashed out say or or do that
01:43:12.280 really you know that's giving you the the blow by blow because one of the things i said on the show
01:43:16.660 which i needed to expound upon was that if god knows everything we're going to do before we do
01:43:21.880 it that makes god the villain of the bible and this person just lost it you say you're calling
01:43:26.100 god a villain and then they wrote a two-page prayer that there's that they were going to pray
01:43:29.800 over me i'm like no please don't but is that information like you know what i'm saying it's
01:43:34.520 like, okay, you said this thing, and then you wrote a two-page prayer. Why didn't you cite
01:43:38.320 scripture and unpack it and say, this is why I think you're incorrect? Because the problem with
01:43:43.980 Calvinism is they believe in the sovereignty of God, but they don't believe in the sovereignty
01:43:48.960 of man. They want God to get all the credit and all the responsibility. God does get the credit
01:43:53.800 for our salvation. We have the responsibility. It's mixed, but they want God to have the credit
01:43:58.880 for our salvation and the responsibility. That's why they talk about things like irresistible grace
01:44:02.680 and perseverance of the of the saints and all these things that basically saying that god
01:44:06.740 chose you before you were born to go to heaven but the alternative means that god chose you
01:44:13.740 before you were born to go to hell and that means that god decided without your consent or choice
01:44:19.320 hey baby number one before you even had a chance to cry or or do anything you're going to heaven 0.92
01:44:24.420 you other baby who was born i've decided unilaterally you're going to hell so if that's 0.59
01:44:29.000 the case, whose fault is it that anyone's in hell? Right. It's God's. So that makes you have no 0.83
01:44:36.060 agency. There's no accountability. That's not justice. Exactly. Calvinists want all of the
01:44:43.240 responsibility and all the crap to go to God. They don't want to be responsible. It's not me, 1.00
01:44:46.620 God. You chose me. There's nothing I can do about it. That's lazy. You don't want the responsibility
01:44:51.620 of making your own choices. You want God to have all that responsibility. And again, that is more
01:44:57.940 of a heresy than anything you can believe I said. Because here's the thing, if you were right,
01:45:04.760 those of you who believe that God, everything's already happened, it's a movie God's already
01:45:09.180 seen, he knows every choice, then you are saying, among other things, God can never be happy.
01:45:14.740 You are saying God cannot interact with you. How can you interact with a movie that you've
01:45:17.900 already watched? You can't. You're saying we don't have any choice. And you're saying that
01:45:21.720 everyone who is in hell is there because God sovereignly said, sorry, bud, you're going to
01:45:26.020 hell and you have no choice about it. Yeah. I don't know. It doesn't seem, uh, it seems
01:45:32.560 too, I don't, I don't want to say simplistic or reductive. It just like, it feels empty.
01:45:40.140 It does. But look at the alternative. So what's so great about this position I have, if I'm correct,
01:45:45.380 well, what it means is that we can please God. I can make a choice tomorrow that God wasn't
01:45:51.160 expecting me to make. I can exceed his expectations. He's like, I think Ed was just going to go through
01:45:55.200 his day tomorrow. And I can say, you know what? I think I'm going to be kind to someone who God
01:45:59.860 wasn't expecting me to be kind to. I'm going to go out of my... For example, we talk about my road
01:46:03.460 rage. So God probably expects Ed's going to get on the road. He's going to be a complete nutcase.
01:46:09.300 Or I can say, you know what? I'm just going to sit back. I'm going to be calm. I'm going to let 0.99
01:46:13.240 this person in front of me who's trying to cut me off. God can say, well, okay, I didn't think
01:46:17.720 you were going to do that. I can make God happy, which I can't do if everything's already happened.
01:46:24.240 God can interact with me.
01:46:25.740 God can take his GPS system and steer me in a brand new direction that he wasn't expecting
01:46:32.600 to do based on my other actions.
01:46:34.720 He can interact with me.
01:46:35.880 I can make him happy.
01:46:37.380 I can give God joy.
01:46:39.280 You can't do that if he already knows everything.
01:46:42.480 Just like when my son walks into the door, I'm not going to have any joy at his ability
01:46:46.860 to walk because I was expecting that.
01:46:48.660 He can't exceed my expectations with his walking.
01:46:50.620 i can i can exceed his expectations you and i can now make god happy we can exceed his
01:46:58.260 expectations we that can't happen if he already knows you're relegating you're messing up the
01:47:03.900 relationship so that's what's good about what i'm saying if it's correct and again what i'm saying
01:47:09.120 is based on the scriptures that i just gave among others if you want more hit me up in the comments
01:47:13.480 i have tons of my just don't want to waste all of our time with the scripture but there are so many
01:47:17.320 ways that God makes it clear that he doesn't know. Whosoever believes shall not perish to have
01:47:24.060 eternal life. Whosoever. That, again, look at the original Greek. It means he doesn't know who's
01:47:29.860 going to choose Jesus. And he is happy. The angels rejoice when someone becomes a Christian. How can
01:47:36.940 they rejoice if God's, I knew that already. Yeah. So in scripture, it talks about that. I forget
01:47:45.220 exactly how it's worded but it's it's like god's will that none shall perish but all uh how does
01:47:50.980 that's that's that's enough first timothy that's god's universal will it's his desire is that
01:47:55.700 everyone be saved but not everyone's going to not everyone will that's his universe because there's
01:48:00.020 and this is um if you guys really want to take a deep dive in this if you really want to study it
01:48:03.700 i would recommend getting john lindhart's book uh modeling god's wills yeah if you're part of the
01:48:08.260 of the spiritual warfare course you get it as part of the course but there are three wills there's
01:48:11.940 There's his universal will, his group will, and his individual will.
01:48:15.300 His universal will, which is not going to succeed, which again shows how can God have
01:48:20.120 a will that will not succeed if he knows everything that's going to happen before it happens.
01:48:24.740 His will is that all be safe.
01:48:25.800 It's not going to happen.
01:48:26.980 His individual will is that we reach our maximum profitability that he foreknew us on.
01:48:33.720 That's when you get to Romans chapter eight, which is the Calvinist favorite passages.
01:48:37.240 It's Romans age 29 and 30 about the whole predestined, who I foreknew, I predestined, I called, justified, so forth and so on.
01:48:45.300 We can go over that if we have time.
01:48:46.940 But that's his individual will.
01:48:48.500 And his group will is church.
01:48:51.300 It's for us to be that community that spends eternity.
01:48:55.180 So the eternity is church and marriage.
01:48:58.400 Marriage, you know, church is a group.
01:49:00.020 Marriage is, you know, is a microcosm of that group.
01:49:02.680 And then it's our individual will.
01:49:04.800 And so what he's, he's never going to get his global will, his big picture will, but
01:49:09.960 he can get his will for us individually, for us to maximize our profitability.
01:49:14.480 You know, the only person who did that was Jesus.
01:49:16.500 Go ahead.
01:49:16.800 What's interesting about that is like the same way that people screech and then go,
01:49:19.840 oh, you're limiting the power of God.
01:49:21.280 It's like, okay, so you can apply, you recognize you could apply the exact same argument to
01:49:25.940 that.
01:49:26.060 If it's God's will that none shall perish and that some are going to, because we have
01:49:32.280 free will and we have choice here then you could make the exact same argument if you were to try
01:49:39.180 to claim everyone will be saved because it clearly says it is his will and god gets what he wants
01:49:46.840 right so if it's god's will that none shall perish but you're claiming that people will people will
01:49:52.800 choose uh you know to follow sin and to abstain from salvation you could easily if you were
01:49:59.400 somebody who believes like, no, no, no, that's not true. Nobody's going to suffer. Nobody's going
01:50:03.820 to, you know, to perish or anything like that. Then you use the exact same argument. It's the
01:50:09.420 exact same argument. Oh, you're putting a limitation on the power of God. And I just
01:50:14.240 don't think that that is accurate. I think it's just using the framing that scripture gives us
01:50:19.200 to understand God. Right. What you're doing is denying the sovereignty of man. You're saying
01:50:23.880 we do not have sovereignty, which God gave us. God gave us a choice for a reason, because he
01:50:29.180 wants to interact with us, because he wants to have a relationship with us. And you cannot have
01:50:33.400 a relationship with someone who cannot choose, who doesn't have a free will. You can't do it.
01:50:38.800 When I proposed to my wife, I didn't say, you're going to marry me. I think this would be illegal.
01:50:44.480 I had to ask her. And that's a vulnerability. And God makes himself vulnerable. Why? Because
01:50:50.980 when my wife said yes, I was happy. But I could not be happy if there was no vulnerability.
01:50:55.840 right if i didn't give so and so god makes himself vulnerable not because he's weak or soft he made
01:51:02.060 himself vulnerable to us so that he could have greater joy when we choose him and you and those
01:51:07.700 of you who disbelieve in this you are denying him that joy um that joy comes with a risk and
01:51:14.420 unfortunately the risk is that you know you don't choose my wife could have said no and we were in
01:51:17.660 cancuna but i've thrown her off the balcony and flown home i kid i kid i had a choice she could
01:51:21.740 have swam or she could have said yes um so reb is asking a question she said can we ask him about
01:51:28.360 jeremiah 1 5 jeremiah 1 5 thank you before i formed thee in the belly i knew thee and before
01:51:35.300 that came his fourth out of the womb i sanctified thee and i ordained thee a prophet unto the nations
01:51:39.620 yep we absolutely did so formed him in that word for i'm glad you brought this up because this was
01:51:44.120 something i was studying before uh about a week ago and i was thinking about this formed is is the
01:51:48.940 um the word form is the same word we use when someone is shaping clay when it's on the potter's
01:51:53.180 will so when he was forming him and god and this is actually scientific that when when when an egg
01:51:59.020 is fertilized there is outside information that comes into the womb so god is involved in every
01:52:06.300 person who is born he is he's involved in informing them and what he so when he formed jeremiah he
01:52:11.660 knew him he knew his causes and he said he called him to be a prophet that doesn't mean that that
01:52:18.380 That doesn't mean he didn't have a choice.
01:52:19.660 It just says he knew him.
01:52:21.120 It didn't say that he made him do it.
01:52:24.000 Just like I gave the example before with my wife and her favorite ice cream.
01:52:27.980 I knew her. 1.00
01:52:28.680 I know that she loves butter pecan. 1.00
01:52:30.480 I know she hates cookies and cream. 0.98
01:52:32.500 I know that.
01:52:33.240 That doesn't mean I know her choices.
01:52:34.900 That doesn't mean she can't make a different choice.
01:52:38.600 Because when you have certain verses like that that seem to contradict the idea about God's foreknowledge,
01:52:46.240 What you have to do is look at whether or not that's going to whether or not it's going to contradict it in every context.
01:52:53.720 Well, can I let me ask you something? This is a crazy thought that I was kind of going through with Matt.

01:54:29.800 with prophets, with the prophets in the Bible and even the prophets that are still born today,
01:54:35.460 do you think that these guys are born or exist with a diminished level of free will or an
01:54:40.860 augmented level of free will? Because to be a prophet, you're supposed to speak for God,
01:54:48.660 but realistically what it is is that you're hearing directly from God, probably in a very
01:54:54.320 strong way these guys probably can't avoid this when you're talking about uh balaam or jeremiah
01:55:00.180 or samuel whoever it is god is talking at them right yes and then they have the choice you have
01:55:07.280 who heard from god and did something different yeah he found his little loophole around it and
01:55:12.840 then the other prophets they spoke for god and but but it seems like when you're at that level
01:55:18.280 where you're hearing from god you have a it's kind of like the angels in a way
01:55:22.780 you're hearing directly from god you have a choice but it's like is it really is it really
01:55:35.920 a choice like if god's talking to you there's another level of responsibility that's put on
01:55:42.380 you there that it's almost like it seems like this the the punishment for that sin of not
01:55:48.280 listening is more dire. Only if you agree to it. If God's talking to you, you can say no.
01:55:54.940 I gave this example thing that the last time I was on, when I was in my 20s, and my dad told me,
01:55:59.900 I think you're being called into the ministry. I said no. For 20 years, I'm doing it now. But
01:56:07.700 I could have continued to say no. But was I called? Yes. Was Jeremiah called to be a prophet?
01:56:14.700 Yes, God says, I'm calling you to be a prophet.
01:56:17.320 Jeremiah could have said, no, thanks.
01:56:19.520 It doesn't mean he wasn't called.
01:56:20.820 It doesn't mean God didn't know the causes.
01:56:22.620 He saw the causes.
01:56:23.320 He said, you are someone, because most prophets are people who are willing to speak out.
01:56:30.060 God, when he was forming him, he says, oh, I see.
01:56:32.800 He wasn't just forming him physically.
01:56:34.440 He was knowing his spirit.
01:56:38.040 He knew his persona.
01:56:41.120 God said, I knew you.
01:56:42.760 Which means that he knew his consciousness
01:56:46.260 He said you have what it takes to be a prophet
01:56:48.740 You have the perseverance
01:56:50.060 You will have the desire
01:56:51.800 You will have these things
01:56:52.820 So because you meet these categories
01:56:54.960 Because you meet these qualifications
01:56:56.660 And I know who you are
01:56:58.760 And I know what kind of person you are
01:57:00.360 I know your causes
01:57:01.020 I want you to be a prophet
01:57:02.580 You can still say no
01:57:04.600 You can be called
01:57:06.120 The many are called but the few are chosen
01:57:11.120 the many are called but the chosen are few i may i may be misquoting that a little bit
01:57:16.220 but um this is relevant to the conversation because uh we're just talking about this but
01:57:21.500 sparrow says uh they're talking about how it says before you were formed specifically i i think we
01:57:29.020 use the language when you were formed okay before chas making the specification before you were
01:57:34.420 formed um or yeah yeah yeah before i want you i knew you he's correct he did say before i formed
01:57:40.520 you in the womb i knew you yeah because he knew his it was consciousness he knew his consciousness
01:57:47.000 before he started you know forming his physical body so forming means shaping it doesn't mean
01:57:51.920 that he's he planted jeremiah in his mother's womb knows mother and father jeremiah's mother
01:57:55.820 and father had sex then the zygote happened and then god started forming him but before he started
01:58:02.080 doing that. So apparently what this proves is that as soon as an egg is fertilized, there's a
01:58:06.840 consciousness there. Ready to go. Yeah. And then God starts shaping him, arms, legs, feet, blah,
01:58:13.180 blah. So as he's forming him, as he's doing that in the womb, he says, before I even started
01:58:16.720 the process of turning you from a fertilized egg into a fetus, into a baby, I already knew
01:58:23.500 your consciousness, which by the way, is something really deep to think about from the abortion
01:58:27.860 standpoint when you're saying, oh, this isn't alive. Well, apparently if you believe in the 0.85
01:58:31.460 bible as soon as that egg's fertilized you know this is something that my wife and i comfort each
01:58:36.580 other with because because we actually uh lost our first child you know it was you know it was
01:58:42.660 only a few weeks so it didn't even have any limbs but there was a consciousness there and so i'm i
01:58:47.840 told my wife we're gonna see that little boy or girl when we get to heaven so i mean there's a
01:58:54.220 comfort there because we were both devastated that was gonna be our first child but right that
01:58:58.500 that consciousness is still is there we'll be there and it'll be i can't wait to get to know
01:59:03.500 him or her yeah this is i mean these are questions to ask when you get to heaven like how does that
01:59:07.660 conga line work out like spirits lined up and then the next person that you know with it's like
01:59:14.160 but god knew this guy he was like no no you're set apart so like man how then it gets to like
01:59:20.640 the foreknowledge of god like is this just really good math you knew when this guy would be up
01:59:26.220 Because he's got to be in the line of, you know, he's got to be an Israelite.
01:59:30.500 It's just a crazy line of thinking. 0.98
01:59:32.700 But what I want to say about this whole thing is that this conversation is for black belts. 0.92
01:59:39.660 It's for people that are looking deeper. 1.00

02:01:13.540 If you don't care to look deep, it's like grandma maxing. If you want to grandma max,
02:01:17.520 that's great too and i think even the people that are on the other side of this arguing this
02:01:22.120 like i i think it's great too we're arguing about the nature of god so deep stuff yeah i'm not
02:01:29.800 arguing about what the giants are doing on sunday i couldn't care less but that how many people
02:01:34.500 right now are doing that they're having these conversations i would rather be having these
02:01:38.340 conversations yeah these vain vapid conversations we're arguing and at each other's throats at
02:01:43.500 about what does, what does God know? And realistically, Ed, I mean, you make good
02:01:48.040 arguments, but I'll tell you, I don't, who knows, who knows how this really works. But like, I hear
02:01:54.020 your arguments. They're good arguments. But in the end, I will default and say, I don't really
02:01:58.400 know how God works at all. We understand his character to the best of our ability, but...
02:02:03.400 And top, that's perfectly valid if you don't want to go there. There's places I don't go. Like,
02:02:06.960 you know, I don't get into stuff like cryptids. You know, that's, you know, that's, that's like
02:02:10.160 the the tony merkel part of the world i find it fascinating but it's not i'm honestly not
02:02:15.020 interested it's again it's fascinating but i i'm not going to take a strong position on it because
02:02:19.240 it's not a big deal and let me rephrase i don't want to say it's not a big deal it's just not
02:02:23.260 something that i am really that interested in and if this isn't something if someone says you know
02:02:28.120 whatever god's sovereignty is i'm saved by by the blood of jesus i will spend eternity in in in the
02:02:34.300 new jerusalem i'd rather i want to i want to talk about the spiritual gifts i want to talk about
02:02:38.720 speaking in tongues. I want to talk about deliverance ministry. Awesome. Cool. If this
02:02:43.340 isn't for you, then it's not for you. Because there's things, I don't get into deliverance
02:02:46.960 ministry. I don't cast out demons in my spiritual warfare course. We talk about a different type of
02:02:51.960 spiritual warfare. And that's what is totally fine. This is completely for me. I'm just saying 0.94
02:02:56.980 like in the end, I'm okay saying like, I don't really, I'm not sure. But like, yeah, the goal
02:03:02.800 here is, okay, every single day, we still should be focused on God. You should be worried about
02:03:07.980 your own salvation you should be worried about your actions because for sure there's free will
02:03:12.460 and for sure you could do some wild stuff and whether it surprises god or not you're the guy
02:03:18.580 that's in charge here for yourself yeah so but as far as conversations go it's fascinating there
02:03:24.320 are definitely um worse things to be talking about right i mean this is like like the idea
02:03:30.440 that we get to spend our time pondering the things of god are that's tremendous any amount
02:03:35.580 of time speaking with anybody like you in front of any sort of audience who's receptive to this
02:03:41.060 sort of thing is huge. Here's how we can bring this in for a landing. So the question may be,
02:03:46.080 why is this a big deal to me? Because it gets right back to the fundamentals of faith by reason,
02:03:50.900 and that is helping enhance your walk with God by knowing God better. So I think that understanding
02:03:56.800 this, if you're interested in understanding it, I think he can help you better understand God,
02:04:01.200 what he can do and what he says he can't do. And then the more you know about God's nature,
02:04:06.860 about what he does, what he doesn't do and why he doesn't do it, it's going to help you know
02:04:10.680 him better. And the better you know him, the more he's going to be able to speak to you,
02:04:14.900 the better your relationship is going to be. And that's what I want. And if I'm completely
02:04:18.580 wrong about this, then I want to know that so that my relationship with God gets better
02:04:24.160 because I can say, God, I thought this about you. I was wrong. Now someone's corrected me.
02:04:28.700 I'm right. That's enhanced my knowledge of you, and I can continue to grow with you.
02:04:33.900 So that's why I'm doing this. Not to say, oh, I'm right and you're wrong. Who cares? It's about,
02:04:38.960 do we know God better because of this information? And if we do, great, because that's going to
02:04:44.640 continue to enhance your walk with him and your growth with him. Yeah, I'm going to continue to
02:04:50.080 try to know God better. But yeah, when I do meet God and he goes, no, I'll be like, oh, damn. All 0.99
02:04:56.940 right but yeah it's like it's just one of those things for me where i'm like yeah yeah i want to
02:05:02.220 keep investigating this but i mean if i'm like like you said if i'm wrong well see but that's
02:05:08.100 a reasonable take not like screeching yeah yeah that's a very nice guy it's like i like to think
02:05:14.760 so as long as you're uh like i said presenting scripture which you are and then also saying
02:05:21.120 like and i could be wrong so let me know what's your argument show me your argument that's rooted
02:05:25.880 it in scripture you do give a very good argument for it yeah yeah yeah it doesn't mean i'm right
02:05:30.780 i've heard i've heard people give really good arguments on the other side you know um i've
02:05:35.080 heard calvinists give their arguments but now that i know it a little better i say okay i see the
02:05:38.840 flaws in your argument but when i first heard it i was like yeah this i think you're making a good 0.98
02:05:42.620 argument doesn't mean i were right that's that's why debates are so stupid because someone can be 0.78
02:05:47.520 a skilled debater and still be wrong and someone can be an unskilled debater and they're right but 0.59
02:05:51.620 they lose the debate because they don't they're not as eloquent right i i love this right here uh
02:05:58.300 shout out to tin foil tiara uh she says i think he's just happy we're trying to figure it out
02:06:03.260 right like if you take the position of a parent and you imagine your child wanting to know you
02:06:10.940 better and spending a lot of time talking about you and and what you want and the things that you
02:06:17.860 do i mean that's awesome so i'm sure tinfoil tiara is correct that's something i think i am
02:06:24.300 sure about is that he's probably pumped when i when i see my kids uh and my son is like really
02:06:31.140 prolific at this with with puzzles he's a great puzzle kid with whether it be like you know the
02:06:36.880 jigsaw or any kind of puzzle i see him trying to figure it out and i'm like yeah that that brings
02:06:43.640 me joy when they quit on it and they just go ah whatever i'll go watch a video i'm kind of like
02:06:49.720 ah you know i'm not like mad at them but i'm just like all right but but when they're lying and
02:06:55.960 you're really thinking about a thing i go oh they're look at look at you look at you i had a
02:07:01.320 buddy tell me once that that when when god sees us trying to think about him it's probably the way
02:07:05.720 the same thought we have when we see a dog trying to play the piano like isn't that adorable check
02:07:10.360 that out. Look at him try. You're a complete moron, but you're trying so hard. You're a good
02:07:16.780 boy. You're a good boy. Yeah, man. That's really solid, what we're all about. Faith by Reason is
02:07:23.280 Christian philosophy. That's in my tagline. That's what this is. This is philosophy. Philosophy is
02:07:29.000 thinking about thinking. That's what we're doing. This is Christian philosophy. It doesn't mean it's
02:07:34.400 right. We're putting philosophical thoughts, ideas, and arguments out there, but we're trying
02:07:39.840 to base them on truth and the Bible is the truth. And so that's why I try to ground everything in
02:07:45.120 the truth of the Bible to the degree that I've studied it. And, you know, someone who studied
02:07:50.540 it more and has a better interpretation that is, that's more non-contradictory and it's a tighter
02:07:55.860 explanation. Cool. Let me know. I want to know it. Also, it doesn't even have to be somebody who
02:07:59.980 studied it more. Sometimes people have like a keen insight on one thing. Yeah. Maybe God spoke to
02:08:05.620 them yeah yeah like sometimes you just you know somebody has the little piece of the puzzle that
02:08:10.120 you're missing um but this is all meant to just understand god more and i do want to say you know
02:08:15.640 on your comment about the dog and the good boy thing uh still reserve is right unless it's a
02:08:20.180 labradoodle with those word buttons in which case i think i think god's probably horrified
02:08:25.180 yeah probably horrified when it's like i i am human and the owner's like you're not a human 0.90
02:08:30.360 and it's like i am sad oh you're like whoa what the hell yeah or those monkeys you know sign
02:08:35.920 language that's oh yeah that's not a planet of the ape starts yeah exactly exactly um so ed let's 0.66

02:10:44.820 and then they look this way and they look back and their eye goes and for a second you'll see a
02:10:50.560 reptilian snake eye the dude who owns building seven took out a giant insurance policy on
02:10:57.260 building seven just before it collapsed is the fact that any of them flee when an abductee
02:11:02.820 calls on the name of you royal elite bloodlines chosen by lesser gods to rule over mankind
02:11:13.580 They're not really a secret. They're on the dollar.

02:11:28.280 It looks good. The actual episode has nothing to do with what you just saw.
