00:01:30.280 It came from demons, by the way.
00:01:31.720 That's what literally Socrates, one of the greatest philosophers in ancient Greece,
00:01:35.180 claims he got most of his ideas from his personal demon.
00:01:39.040 Top loves the productions.
00:01:43.940 Oh, you're about to offend a lot of people.
00:01:45.860 Our book in modernity is 66, but it used to be 80, by the way.
00:01:50.180 So for four years, the emperor of Rome was a high priest to a god.
00:01:54.500 and ministered in a temple.
00:01:56.040 Say like alchemy?
00:01:57.020 Yeah, it seems like alchemy.
00:01:58.240 It seems like a little bit like witchcraft,
00:01:59.660 so we're turning this into blood now.
00:02:01.100 How many Hail Marys would you have been required to say
00:02:03.100 had you confessed to sleeping with his wife?
00:02:05.440 Does it look like Elon shot the firmament
00:02:08.200 with the SpaceX rocket yesterday?
00:02:10.220 Jesus didn't go to the lake of fire on your behalf.
00:02:12.300 So if this part doesn't get cut out,
00:02:14.860 expect to get a phone call
00:02:16.080 from some of your Trinitarian friends. 1.00

00:05:22.140 also just kic and uh that's the easiest place you can find us because facebook suppresses us
00:05:27.220 and is now asking to charge us 15 a month in order for us to have a presence on there
00:05:31.120 really on which platform facebook facebook and meta are very much like they're paid to play
00:05:36.380 They're pay-to-play, yeah.
00:05:37.380 Give us more money and we'll make sure that people see the content
00:05:39.940 that you make on our platform, isn't that?
00:05:42.300 I thought Facebook and you're just like posting stuff.
00:05:44.840 They're going to charge you.
00:05:45.840 They basically send me a notification saying,
00:05:47.700 if I want to post more than one of our video links per month,
00:05:50.440 then I got to pay 15 bucks a month.
00:05:52.000 What?
00:05:52.520 Oh, yeah, that is, yeah.
00:05:53.920 Yeah, they did that to us too.
00:05:55.140 I didn't even know they did that to us.
00:05:57.200 My assistant didn't tell me that.
00:05:58.080 Do we post on Facebook?
00:05:58.860 Oh, I post it on Facebook and people got really upset. 1.00
00:06:01.140 Is it just boomers? 1.00
00:06:01.780 So I'm going back to MySpace. 1.00
00:06:04.280 Let's go.
00:06:05.020 oh yeah why don't we have a like a major presence on myspace that's a good idea um because it died
00:06:10.480 15 years ago no it's coming back so uh sean i want to kind of start this conversation off uh
00:06:15.740 it's going to be a little bit of a deviation from what the main topic is but we were just talking
00:06:19.700 shit about that half cyborg cape hodge and i don't really know i'm not i don't mean to talk 0.60
00:06:23.760 she's probably really nice probably really nice but she is going viral right now for something 0.99
00:06:27.940 that we kind of allude to on this show from time to time which is um paul hatred you can call it
00:06:35.000 Paul hatred people that don't believe that Paul was really an apostle and you know where I've seen
00:06:39.180 this a lot um in the Muslim community we actually had oh I met a Muslim guy that I bought a phone
00:06:43.900 from a while ago he actually came to the shop it might be um and and he was I was talking to him
00:06:51.900 about about you know the faith about what I believe and I was he's obviously Muslim yeah and 0.52
00:06:56.080 he started to like try to plant the seed of like Paul being a fake apostle and I was like you need 0.99
00:06:59.920 to stop that yeah and then he's like okay yeah like he backed up because I was like you don't 0.99
00:07:03.740 want to get into that conversation because then if i'll start throwing stones at muhammad 0.78
00:07:06.920 it's going to be more accurate and you're not going to like this right and end up blowing up 0.73
00:07:10.780 the coffee shop or something like that i've seen it in gnostic spaces a lot so people that believe
00:07:15.000 you know they believe that they're christian so it's like pseudo kind of gnostic christians they
00:07:18.980 believe that they're christians but they believe that there's some big deception and they're on
00:07:23.920 the trail paul's part of that trail and uh and it leads to a bunch of crazy places maybe we can get
00:07:29.520 into that but what are your what are your thoughts i'm sure you've seen this phenomenon sean yeah
00:07:33.080 we've been dealing with it for years. Second Peter three, 15 through 17. Peter warns us about
00:07:37.780 Paul's writings are hard to understand. And the same people that twist the rest of the scriptures 0.97
00:07:42.300 easily twist Paul's scriptures. It's that simple, but he's the only apostle in the new Testament
00:07:46.740 writers that you comes with a warning in the new Testament, which is, Hey, he's hard to understand.
00:07:52.040 We've always told people for a long time. Um, if you don't know first century context about
00:07:56.780 the, the friction between the Pharisees, the party of circumcision and the apostles. And if
00:08:01.440 you don't know the old testament very well then you're going to not understand paul and just
00:08:05.260 make up all kinds of heresies which the catholic church and the orthodox church did we'll get into
00:08:09.540 some of that stuff later but um that's where your body is always giving you signals whoop helps you
00:08:15.980 understand them whoop is the wearable health and fitness coach that provides personalized insights

00:11:13.300 You know, it's just that it came with a warning.
00:11:15.340 The Bible warns you about Paul's writings. 1.00
00:11:16.940 I always jokingly tell people, if you're a newbie, for one, like this K-girl, 1.00
00:11:21.460 if you're a brand-new convert, and I mean, you're less than 10 years in Christ, 1.00
00:11:24.740 you shouldn't be teaching anyway.
00:11:26.120 But if you're a brand-new convert, you should put Paul down
00:11:29.420 and learn the front of your Bible first, and that'll solve the problem. 0.77
00:11:32.680 I think that's a really great take.
00:11:34.880 That's what Matt said.
00:11:35.520 He said anybody that reads Genesis through Revelation
00:11:37.820 doesn't ever come away with it going,
00:11:40.020 I think Paul's a false apostle.
00:11:42.700 It's so wild, man.
00:11:43.900 It's interesting because we're going through Corinthians,
00:11:45.720 and I don't feel like it's hard to understand.
00:11:47.600 I mean, there's a lot of reiteration of, like,
00:11:49.420 really core fundamental aspects of what it is to follow Christ
00:11:52.980 that are, you know, really hammered in.
00:11:55.240 But this is only Corinthians.
00:11:56.180 Some of the arguments are Paul saying faith alone and Jesus.
00:11:59.640 No, Paul saying faith plus works.
00:12:01.900 No, no, Paul.
00:12:02.560 Jesus saying faith plus works.
00:12:04.140 Paul saying faith alone.
00:12:04.820 Paul says you're saved by grace through faith.
00:12:06.900 Right.
00:12:07.240 Not works, lest any man should boast in the Ephesian letter.
00:12:09.760 But there's no contradiction with that.
00:12:11.200 well people say there is faith without works is dead or jesus talking about the works that we do
00:12:15.840 like there's so where are people getting hung up then i don't it must be some origin you have to
00:12:21.100 see their sorry yeah i'm just saying there's got to be a camp right there's got to be like you know
00:12:26.540 there's tribalism in the in the body of christ or whatever the denomination and even outside the
00:12:31.460 body of christ is i would guess where that has to be coming from but like you get in these camps
00:12:35.760 somebody in that camp has this wonderful argument for it and then everybody latches on with that
00:12:40.480 because that argument sounds so great and it probably gets
00:12:42.560 views and the likes. I'm sure she's getting the likes
00:12:44.540 or the views or whatever the
00:12:46.660 things are. So you do that because
00:12:48.540 it pays the bills. It's very good
00:12:50.240 to have stuff like that and then people just
00:12:52.560 latch on to it. But like I said, if you read Genesis
00:12:54.520 to Revelation, you wouldn't like close
00:12:56.680 it up and go, you know what?
00:12:58.340 I think Paul's like actually not really
00:13:00.760 an apostle. He's a fake. 0.68
00:13:03.240 I just don't see anybody
00:13:04.700 doing that. Right, right.
00:13:06.480 Most of the claims are accusations
00:13:08.880 against Paul.
00:13:10.480 as if you're like a first century Pharisee, who's mad that he left your ilk and went to,
00:13:14.980 and went to be with Christ and the apostles. Like it's, it's these weird accusations they make up
00:13:19.420 and you just have to look at them one by one. Cause they're all different. And most of them
00:13:22.540 come from a spirit of accusation. And I'm not saying that because I'm complaining like that.
00:13:26.500 You just have to, you know, like, it's not like an, an exegetical argument. It's just a,
00:13:31.500 Oh, he did this. And, and they kicked him out of this region because he was a false apostle.
00:13:36.080 No, no, they kicked him out of that region because they didn't, they weren't believers
00:13:39.900 in christ and they didn't accept the message of christ like that's and he's preaching christ
00:13:44.140 crucified in the kingdom to come like that that was a you know but they twist a lot of things to
00:13:49.040 make these accusations yeah what i find is that it seems to be this this doorway to i think we
00:13:55.100 talked about a little bit on the pre-show conversation uh to gnosticism right because
00:14:00.340 if you can throw paul into kind of uh uh you know being questioned then you can move on to peter and
00:14:08.080 then you can move on to to christ from there and then it becomes like christ is obviously
00:14:12.400 um important and good but is he god and then once you get there you can separate god the god of the
00:14:20.760 old testament from jesus christ and then you can label the god of the old testament the demiurge
00:14:26.060 and then you can change what jesus christ is you can change him to an ascended master you can change
00:14:30.960 him to, uh, uh, you know, a, a man that was filled with a type of consciousness that shows
00:14:37.280 up every so many thousands of years in, in an avatar and tries to change the world for
00:14:42.220 the better, or you can even change him to a Pleiadian, his entire identity gets thrown
00:14:46.760 into, into flux at that point.
00:14:49.000 Um, and it's this perfect gateway for this, you know, this Gnosticism, this, um, conspiracy
00:14:55.820 melted into christianity and a way to kind of like bolster your own intellect
00:15:01.280 yep yeah it's it's uh it's a symptom of internet media yeah well um all right so i mean paul they
00:15:11.540 already addressed the accusations against paul next 21 and he proved himself uh to be faithful
00:15:15.620 walking orderly according to the law to the apostles so well it's going to be interesting
00:15:21.260 to see because i think a lot of people right now if you look uh just at the the sentiment on um
00:15:25.720 on X, people are killing her. They're dragging her left and right. It's, it's not a popular 0.84
00:15:30.820 opinion whatsoever, but even in that, you know, because you're taking a stance and you're saying
00:15:36.160 something that's not popular, just that alone will galvanize people to the idea, right? If,
00:15:40.680 especially if she's got, um, a passion. Like I said, this is the problem with, um, having a
00:15:45.860 large following and then coming to Christ. Like I, we experienced this with, uh, um, me personally,
00:15:51.060 I experienced this with young Don a few years ago. He found my channel, reached out to me on
00:15:55.160 Instagram was like, Hey man, I've been, you know, binge watching your stuff. It's great. You want
00:16:00.340 to do some shows together? I'm a new believer. And then he was like going through different phases
00:16:05.220 of different denominational beliefs as he was like coming to the faith and he had no grounding or
00:16:10.060 rooting. And then now he's left the faith, you know? And then so that my private conversations
00:16:14.540 I would try to have with them, he wasn't trying to hear it. He wasn't trying to listen or go
00:16:17.960 through a Bible study with me. Cause he was, um, he was, he had already said something on his show
00:16:22.400 And he had like, you know, 500,000 subscribers or whatever on, on his Christian channel and on his, uh, animation channel, he had like 2 million subscribers. So he was already a large influencer. I don't know if you guys ever seen young Don and animations or whatever you guys, but yeah, basically like he ended up leaving the faith altogether. Like some Calvinists got ahold of him later and started going, some deliverance guys got ahold of him after that started going wild with his theology.
00:16:46.260 and he just started shifting like the wind and then he had no grounding in the actual foundations
00:16:51.860 of the faith and unfortunately he left the faith or and publicly announced it and you know one part
00:16:58.220 of me i was like man i hope this wasn't just like a long logan paul type of troll on christianity
00:17:03.140 just for views and content right i did speak with him personally and and went over the bible with
00:17:08.260 him personally and he just really struggled with some aspects he didn't understand and then instead
00:17:13.260 of just submitting himself to you know believing in god is going to reward him for truly seeking
00:17:18.460 he ended up just making a bunch of wild statements online and then he's he feels beholden
00:17:23.420 to those statements online because he's made them publicly yeah and so it that that whole thing
00:17:28.760 about being online and having a type of fame it's uh it can become a snare you know it's tricky it's
00:17:34.560 like the rich man uh you know it's hard hard for him to to get into heaven obviously and this guy
00:17:39.540 he's probably rich too because he's got millions of followers but i'm glad that
00:17:42.860 i was i don't know what like 15 to 20 something when i had this uh falling out with the faith
00:17:50.880 you know like i i did that earlier and not in the public eye so i was able to kind of like go
00:17:55.020 through it myself privately and who knows what i said but thank god i didn't say into a microphone
00:17:59.940 to two million people or whatever it was like what a trap that is and and but also where what's
00:18:06.360 his name young don yeah well this k podge girl i think she was an atheist and then became a believer
00:18:11.240 and like a year and a half ago two years ago yeah and now she's already trying to teach advanced
00:18:16.080 doctrine top and i have talked about right it's like if you're an atheist you have to get to the
00:18:20.080 back of the line yeah thank you for being here but back of the line yeah you're not also like like
00:18:25.000 listen people say things online and they say things on a show and they type things on twitter
00:18:30.500 okay those are words even though they're recorded they're still wind you have room to change your 0.71
00:18:36.560 mind and if somebody comes back to you and they go you're a hypocrite just like i i changed my mind 0.56
00:18:40.620 that's it stand by your word if that's what you're really believing don't let that hold you 0.88
00:18:45.660 back from actual truth and and from from the salvation of your eternal soul some words that
00:18:51.600 you said online yeah i like to think that on this show uh especially for my position because i wasn't
00:18:57.360 raised Christian. And I think I do public learning. I do learning in the public eye,
00:19:02.660 not teaching in the public eye. We make a lot of, we make mistakes. We're kind of like,
00:19:06.980 we're going along the line. We were talking about it yesterday about traveling along this path.
00:19:11.480 And you're kind of like, I don't know, we're trying to stay on it, but like we're weaving
00:19:15.160 back and forth, but we're on, we're on the path. We're trying to be on the narrow path. Everybody
00:19:19.780 is, and everybody's falling short of the grace of God. And we're just, you know, I was saying
00:19:24.620 staying on the path but it looks different on the path some people ride a skateboard or a bike some
00:19:28.720 walk some run whatever but we're all on the straight gate and narrow path you were talking
00:19:32.720 about going off the path i was talking about yeah listen you're on the path but realistically kind
00:19:36.900 of like people people move around on it it's like a ship yeah right you gotta yeah and of course
00:19:41.760 correct but you're really keying in on the thing it's part of it's part of the journey and i wish
00:19:46.580 i wish that i was i was like some people there's a guy like jeremy chotala that i grew up with this
00:19:50.740 dudes on, as far as I could tell, I don't, I don't know every working of his, you know, his,
00:19:55.420 his personal life, but he's been on the path his whole life. And you can see the fruits of that.
00:20:00.360 The dude is like glowing when you see him. That's not me, you know, but I'm still, I'm still trying
00:20:06.560 to be on that path. And, and as I, as I deviate and mess up there, there are other, like, you
00:20:11.720 know, there's great things that happen because I'm able to pick up people and talk to different
00:20:14.780 people and learn, learn from my mistakes. Maybe Jeremy doesn't know that maybe he, maybe he hasn't
00:20:19.980 learn those things but that's your that's your walk with god just don't let it distract you
00:20:24.320 don't let it stop you from going back because you did once say a thing and yeah before we depart
00:20:30.160 from the k podge thing who knows this could just be a misstep or a stumbling block you know just
00:20:36.520 on that path maybe she figures it out and she comes back we'll talk to her about it and if she 0.97
00:20:40.580 says no we'll beat her up i could i'll yeah fine truth or con i'll beat her up i'll beat her up at
00:20:44.940 truth or con use promo code nd squad for 10 percent uh all right we have to have to change
00:20:49.600 that to sean connery con that's right that's right woman doesn't paul have something uh to say about
00:20:56.140 women uh taking uh speaking positions in the church or talking about um uh scripture isn't
00:21:03.500 it specifically a don't do that i don't i don't know maybe that's where the problem comes from
00:21:07.400 doesn't really dive well i've read and i've been told that the cultural context of the corinthian
00:21:12.120 church was that the women were being trained in Corinth to be witches, basically, to be mouthpieces
00:21:17.820 of the false gods they served, like Athena and Diana, things like that. And therefore, when they
00:21:22.720 became believers, it was kind of like an overly exerted rule that Paul wanted to give to the
00:21:31.520 Corinth women because they had already been promoted in culture to be so free to speak
00:21:37.700 and authority over men and that's just like not what the bible teaches right so that's where he
00:21:43.340 was uh trying to like give extra rules within that congregation that's what i've read anyway as far
00:21:47.900 as you know obviously i'm not there back in first century corinth so it's hard to say but i do know
00:21:52.240 obviously that the prophetess's aspect of false god and idol worship was a big deal i mean like
00:21:57.960 you had the the oracle of delphi was a woman and she was giving prophecies to kings and dignitaries
00:22:03.280 And, you know, I mean, they look to her as someone important. And so that could be an aspect of that. But at the same time, I think as a blanket, male or female, you just need to know the actual Bible first before you start trying to talk to a million people and say that you've got doctrine figured out.
00:22:18.240 Yeah. I mean, that's probably a safe bet. 0.95
00:22:20.720 There's a thought.
00:22:22.380 So let's get into this, Sean. We're here to talk about the Orthodox Church.
00:22:26.600 We're here to dismantle the UNAR. 1.00
00:22:28.260 Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've already dismantled one person. Let's now move on.
00:22:31.220 We've had on a couple of Orthodox people, and we've had our arguments with the Orthodox, and they're very forceful and strong about the traditions of their church and how they date back, and there is not an unbroken line, and they are the one true church, and we just go, okay, I don't think so.
00:22:49.260 Even as far as saying if you're not baptized in the one true church, then you're technically not.
00:22:53.600 Yeah, I'm also not going to read thousands of pages of their doctrine to figure out what they're doing.
00:22:59.240 I've done it for you.
00:23:01.220 yeah i know there he is and that's why i asked you to explain it to me
00:23:06.800 yeah and i mean we i have been speaking with alex soren about doing a debate
00:23:14.160 at uh at the debate con thing for modern day debate in the future so we'll see if that gets
00:23:19.120 put together or not but but yeah maybe i'll give away my debate points here today who knows
00:23:23.080 sweetheart but yeah but the truth is the truth man so if you give away your points it doesn't
00:23:28.240 matter yeah oh it's not going to matter anyway to them because they're involved in um a cult-like
00:23:34.680 enforcement of their belief and if they go against that they're going to get kicked out of church so
00:23:38.680 let's not walk in let's dive right in yeah please let's go head first shallow pool so i put a pdf
00:23:44.380 in the in the in the studio but if it's not large enough and i can't enlarge it then we can use
00:23:50.000 another i can show there's a god definition or core trinitarian it just it should be uh the other

00:26:12.820 it means to be greater together join today at ymca gta.org there we go oh sorry that's not right
00:26:21.080 wrong one there it is there we go okay yeah i can't enlarge it so let me uh let me add something
00:26:26.920 else um that we can have a larger view of it okay so people can see it okay and uh sean has
00:26:36.880 warned us before there's going to be a lot of presentation don't worry he's going to read it
00:26:41.040 for us it's gonna unpack it for us yeah yeah oh i see you bought something else up sean is that it
00:26:45.660 yeah okay there we go okay okay much bigger yes okay so basically um seven points that we want
00:26:56.040 to go over real quick first one and which is the biggest one when it comes to talking with
00:26:59.360 orthodox church and all their um catechumen all their churchgoers is the apostolic succession
00:27:05.300 argument okay because that is their crux that's what they claim gives them all authority to say
00:27:10.160 and do the things they've done for the last 1,800 years.
00:27:14.340 Okay, so apostolic succession,
00:27:15.840 they usually go to Matthew 16, 18 to 19,
00:27:17.940 where they believe that it's talking about
00:27:20.900 Peter is the rock and on this, you know,
00:27:23.280 they bid the church on this
00:27:24.340 and the gates of hell not prevail.
00:27:25.820 And the concept of binding and loosing
00:27:28.400 is they interpret that as church authority,
00:27:30.920 which I don't actually disagree with that actual part
00:27:34.000 because there is authority amongst the,
00:27:35.960 you know, the bishops, elders, and overseers in the church
00:27:38.040 who should be able to make decisions
00:27:40.060 as far as judgment with it when it comes to church discipline and that kind of thing and
00:27:44.040 making sure sound doctrine maintains to be taught um so that's the idea they they build it off of
00:27:49.360 this verse which the roman catholics do the same you may you guys may already know this but roman
00:27:53.840 catholicism pretty much just split after the filioque well the filioque is just one aspect
00:27:59.240 of the many reasons they split and became the holy roman empire um after 1000 was it 1052 or
00:28:05.220 something like that but ultimately many of these traditions that carried into the roman catholic
00:28:11.120 church began with the quote-unquote orthodox group whom we now today refer to as the eastern
00:28:17.660 orthodox um i would say the oriental but the orientals sometimes are labeled as an historian
00:28:23.460 so that's a whole nother conversation we get into in point four so apostolic succession they build
00:28:29.180 themselves off of second thessalonians 2 15 to say therefore brothers stand firm and cling to the
00:28:34.200 traditions we taught you whether by speech or letter so therefore everything that they teach
00:28:38.820 that you don't find in the bible they say oh but no these are the ones handed down by speech
00:28:42.460 you see you see how that works yeah get a little slippery there isn't that fun
00:28:49.920 how they could just do that oh yeah we handed these down by speech you just this is the speech
00:28:54.940 that we've always had so it's called oral tradition uh in fact i even watched a debate
00:28:59.880 with that Alex Sorin guy
00:29:00.860 versus a Protestant
00:29:01.640 arguing a postdoc secession
00:29:03.920 and Alex Sorin
00:29:05.220 openly said in his debate
00:29:06.660 they view themselves
00:29:07.540 as the successors 0.97
00:29:08.900 to the Pharisees
00:29:10.280 in the sense
00:29:13.000 that they have oral tradition. 1.00
00:29:15.060 That's like black people
00:29:15.740 saying that they were the Jews. 0.91
00:29:17.340 No, that's not. 0.62
00:29:18.040 What would you want that?
00:29:18.860 What would you want that?
00:29:18.940 What would you want that?
00:29:21.460 Matthew 16,
00:29:22.500 there's a couple of
00:29:23.500 interpretations of this
00:29:24.720 and Matt,
00:29:25.280 you broke this down with us
00:29:26.520 a while ago
00:29:27.080 where Jesus is talking to Peter
00:29:29.520 and he says, on this rock, I'll build my church.
00:29:31.420 And there are a couple of variables.
00:29:33.220 Either he's talking about the actual mountain,
00:29:35.580 he's going to build a physical church there,
00:29:37.860 he's talking to Peter,
00:29:40.180 or he's talking to the statement that Peter just declared,
00:29:44.520 the question that he asked.
00:29:47.320 That's my interpretation is the latter, the third.
00:29:50.380 He's talking to the statement of the rock of Christ being the Messiah
00:29:54.080 that was sent by God,
00:29:55.660 who is going to be the foundation for the church.
00:29:57.440 Because clearly, Peter is not over Christ and authority over the church.
00:30:00.860 1 Corinthians, or Colossians 1, verse 15 through 18, Christ has supremacy over the church.
00:30:06.340 He is the ultimate over the ecclesia.
00:30:08.740 He's the high priest of the covenant of Israel.
00:30:11.020 And even as far as other, like, apostles go, it's like, okay, I get it how you could read that passage and say, oh, he's saying he's building the church on Peter.
00:30:20.780 Like, okay, I get it.
00:30:21.880 I'll pull it back up and down.
00:30:23.000 so let's keep reading the rest of the book and then like you get into the book of acts and it
00:30:27.260 and it looks like early on like james has the final say so exactly i was going to say x15 james
00:30:32.700 is james is making the executive statement of how we're going to deal with new converts throughout
00:30:38.060 the mediterranean not peter yeah so it's like it doesn't it just doesn't hold up it's like any
00:30:43.120 any one verse okay i you think it reads like that i think it reads like this let's just make sure
00:30:49.020 the rest of the story lines up then with so you're saying even within context you gain a deeper
00:30:53.540 understanding yeah even i might be wrong because i when i did read that and i thought about it i'm
00:30:58.040 like okay uh the church will be built on the people who make the declaration like like peter
00:31:03.800 did but no it makes it would obviously make more sense that no the church is built on the son of
00:31:09.100 god on jesus christ okay so there's a lot in that i think he says like flesh and blood didn't uh
00:31:14.660 revealed this to you when my father did yeah there's an argument that it's built on direct
00:31:18.980 revelation from god not that not that that would ever supersede the word of god nobody's nobody's
00:31:23.040 saying that there's an argument that like uh you know there's this play on words with rock which
00:31:27.740 we talked about before which is like process that like it'll be built on this process that like
00:31:31.960 peter you know you look at him at that time he's anything but a rock like he's anything but solid
00:31:36.760 but through this process he will become that there's a lot of different ways you could you
00:31:41.120 could unpack that what's being said. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you
00:31:46.820 understand them. Whoop is the wearable health and fitness coach that provides personalized

00:33:01.820 but like it can't be that he's the guy in charge of the church.
00:33:05.340 When you read the rest of the story,
00:33:06.860 seven days later,
00:33:08.720 he denies Jesus three times.
00:33:10.600 Yeah,
00:33:11.340 exactly.
00:33:12.880 It's not the rock I want to lean on.
00:33:14.260 So this is part of the apostolic succession. 0.69
00:33:18.720 Is this,
00:33:19.060 no,
00:33:19.200 that is,
00:33:19.540 these are the foundational verses.
00:33:21.080 That's why I'm putting them up here.
00:33:22.020 So this is the ones that they'll,
00:33:23.360 they'll cite really quickly.
00:33:24.600 They'll say,
00:33:24.980 Oh,
00:33:25.060 Matthew 16,
00:33:25.800 second Thessalonians 2,
00:33:26.660 15.
00:33:27.040 These,
00:33:27.320 these give us apostolic succession.
00:33:30.240 This is what they claim.
00:33:31.360 Okay.
00:33:31.820 so what is the what's the argument against second thessalonians here well like i said
00:33:36.860 can i ask a thing though can i ask a thing real quick because this is one thing i've really been
00:33:40.720 wondering it says nephilim desquad at the top right you see that part of that i'm 10 we had
00:33:45.160 that discussion you guys at least admitted to seven uh but uh so apostolic succession
00:33:50.100 and i i know nothing about the any of the traditions of orthodox or whatever other than
00:33:55.200 when i see you guys arguing with people so like which apostles are they saying that they are like
00:34:01.100 i guess that's saying like an unbroken chain yeah yeah so that's what i'm gonna get to with
00:34:05.000 this you see this quote here and just right here next but that but the second thessalonians 2
00:34:08.900 passage is well they'll say oh the tradition's handed down through the apostles down through
00:34:13.740 the laying on of hands to new bishops and elders and overseers and pastors you know like paul laid
00:34:18.560 hands on timothy type thing so therefore then timothy would succeed paul but they would say
00:34:23.460 then that oh well the um they have an unbroken line since him you know then you go into the
00:34:29.060 people that seceded john that kind of stuff but there's a ton of uh bishops that we're going to
00:34:34.320 get to in jerusalem that are are documented by eusebius the church historian in the fourth
00:34:39.160 century that they lost their secession they lost the the history of where because those people
00:34:44.420 were dispersed when the romans invaded jerusalem and they don't know where they went or who they
00:34:48.540 are but they have they have their names but they don't know who seceded them because there is no
00:34:52.500 one that seceded them that just seems like the craziest argument i don't know so how do you
00:34:58.480 what are you talking about and why does it matter like what are we you have a bible like you have
00:35:04.240 the same bible that the original guy had so what does it matter if you had the the succession this
00:35:10.820 guy to this guy to this guy to this guy like you have the same bible if i can argue against that 1.00
00:35:15.040 what matters is sometimes you'll have a half robot female that's take that same bible and 1.00
00:35:19.680 could make crazy arguments there should be people that are i don't know if like in authority is 1.00
00:35:25.400 correct but like this should be there we have that like teachers ones with penises well that's 0.90
00:35:30.460 what uh first timothy 1 1 through 10 paul is exhorting timothy to be like hey and also in
00:35:36.500 second timothy 3 14 but he's exhorting timothy to be like hey these things when you're teaching and
00:35:43.020 as a you know as a pastor of these people these things are against sound doctrine and not in
00:35:47.820 accordance with sound doctrine right verses 7 through 10 of that first chapter first timothy
00:35:51.140 but he's teaching he's in reaffirming to what he's already taught first or timothy about sound
00:35:57.720 doctrine that should be your litmus test for secession you can't so this is the question
00:36:03.420 i've asked many orthodox and they don't answer me when i say okay so wait a minute you claim you
00:36:07.360 have apostolic secession so what happens how many how many times does your bishop need to teach
00:36:12.840 something the bible clearly contradicts before he no longer has secession before he's no longer
00:36:18.320 the authoritative, right? How many ways can he look at this scripture that says A, and then he
00:36:23.760 says B, and then he continues to be your bishop and your episcopate? Shouldn't he be- Is it like
00:36:27.780 a strike system? I'm just saying, it's rhetorical because clearly if you're not holding the sound
00:36:34.160 doctrine, then what are you doing? That's why Matt was saying we have the word of God to cross
00:36:38.840 reference and check, but then they say, well, you can't rely on sola scriptura because it doesn't
00:36:43.860 address everything so you do there are some aspects of church liturgy and guidance and
00:36:48.760 governance that you have to fill in the gaps i've run into that where they'll say um okay but who
00:36:53.560 comprised the bible who put it together like who wrote it and you go that's their that's their
00:36:57.980 trick that's that's them getting you off the topic so yeah don't fall for that that's just a trick
00:37:02.240 you know what it reminds me of i don't talk to these guys yeah it's like i'm glad that for sean
00:37:07.560 to explain it all but to have this conversation back and forth with somebody would just be like
00:37:10.920 I tried to have a conversation with Alex Soren for like an hour and a half about it.
00:37:15.920 And I was cool.
00:37:16.440 And I'm like, and then I watched his, and I like Alex, but I watched his review with that other guy with the huge forehead.
00:37:22.380 And Alex goes, watch this right here.
00:37:25.520 He asked me a question and then he lets me extrapolate on it.
00:37:29.160 And I said, yeah, it's a conversation.
00:37:31.260 I asked you, and he's like, what a mistake.
00:37:33.640 I'm like, it was, I'm asking you what you think is like, you're obviously operating in trickery.
00:37:38.980 If you're, if you think that me letting you explain what you said and what you mean is
00:37:43.780 some sort of a tactic, yeah, I'm like, what?
00:37:46.880 This was a conversation. 1.00
00:37:48.140 Like I literally, I'm hearing what you're saying and I'm going, this sounds stupid. 0.99
00:37:51.980 Please tell me what you're saying. 0.99
00:37:53.380 Yeah, that's obscuring your intent.
00:37:55.120 Like you're coming in there with a genuine intent to have a conversation and learn about
00:37:58.500 the other person.
00:37:59.380 But like he said, they've got an ulterior motive.
00:38:01.040 He said like, yeah, these, these verbal, uh, the verbal tricks that they're using are to
00:38:05.020 throw you off when you're just literally asking like, wait, what? 1.00
00:38:07.840 why can't we have a conversation without you deploying jewish tricks yeah with the with the 0.93
00:38:12.240 it depends on like if you're talking to a staunch roman catholic he'll use the same tactic and say 0.85
00:38:17.360 who gave you the bible right and they and so a lot of eastern orthodox are taught to do this
00:38:22.140 um in a discussion where you start disagreeing with their claims because they if they cannot
00:38:28.240 truly validate their claims well it's the easiest way to get you off topic by saying
00:38:31.920 what they're doing is appealing to the ultimate authority like oh you're trying to be sola script
00:38:36.440 Torah. Well, you wouldn't have that script tour if we didn't give it to you. So therefore you need
00:38:40.100 to, you need to let us tell you how to read and interpret it. And this is again,
00:38:45.100 doesn't that undermine God? Like, isn't this inspired by God? That's a whole nother contradiction
00:38:54.820 to where they say, Oh, you can only have salvation through the church, through our church. But then
00:38:59.800 you say, wait a minute, your son, the Holy Spirit only works through your church. And then they'll
00:39:03.520 also at the same time say, well, we don't know where the Holy spirit is. We can't really pinpoint
00:39:08.540 the whole, you know, I wanted to actually to bring a clip today of like, uh, one of the,
00:39:12.940 the tachyon meters from ghostbusters, you know, and act like I was searching for the Holy spirit,
00:39:16.700 but basically like that's, they even admit, well, we don't know where the Holy spirit is. So we
00:39:22.020 can't, we can't really say that you're not saved or that you don't have God if you're outside of
00:39:26.580 our church. Um, but when you start really drilling them on how long it took for their church to be
00:39:31.500 formulated and codified in a sense that they agree with today and how i'm going to show you today
00:39:36.900 it contradicts itself over several hundred years right and so like that's that's another big
00:39:43.280 contradiction they deal with does that mean that nobody was saved for several hundred years until
00:39:47.320 they codified the church or like we'll go into it but like do you get the arians you've got the
00:39:52.800 whole arian empires you've got the semi-arians you've got the uh the uh nestorians the oriental
00:39:59.360 Orthodox, the Armenians, the Syrians. There's so many groups that are not lumped in historically
00:40:05.100 to the Orthodox that God is working through to evangelize the world throughout the centuries.
00:40:11.260 Even within them, there was a point where it went viral online. The Baptist pastor,
00:40:17.800 Shelly, he posted that someone was charging $400 or something for baptisms and it caused a huge
00:40:25.320 dizzy online. They were like, no, no, not all of us. And I was like, oh, so there's differentiation
00:40:29.160 between what you guys charge so there is no like cohesive no but they were like you're like but
00:40:34.920 you get a cross and a statue you're paying for the robes yeah and i'm like all right but there's
00:40:41.480 no so there's no consistency here and some some of the churches outright you know denounce it
00:40:45.700 they're like no we don't do that that church actually went and made their prices private
00:40:49.020 online it was it was crazy and i'm like okay okay okay i i see what's happening here and i understand
00:40:53.920 what you guys are running the business but like if there's no consistency then your claim right
00:40:58.640 there about being the one true church is like it's already been fraction like fractionated so
00:41:03.760 what happened here okay but also before we go because i want to forget we're never going to
00:41:08.600 get past the points no no no so this concept of like apostolic succession is when paul's talking
00:41:14.120 to timothy and saying hey man you learn this this way you pass it on to the next guy so that he'll
00:41:19.640 pass it on right that that's like the concept of where they pull it from so but you but you read
00:41:25.060 that passage in light of the entirety of the Bible and you go, huh, this really reminds me of when
00:41:29.340 like, uh, they come out in the book of Exodus and Moses says, Hey man, you tell this to your
00:41:34.760 children and your children's children. And you guys don't let the chain break. Like you make
00:41:38.960 sure everybody knows that this is being taught to the next generation and the next generation
00:41:43.800 and the next generation. And you're saying like, wow, that's very similar, but I would never think
00:41:49.260 that like, now that gives these people this authority. They would claim some authority
00:41:52.860 because I got taught by my great, great, great, great grandpa that passed it. And now somehow I
00:41:56.820 have this authority of this. He's just making the point that like, this has to be passed down the
00:42:00.640 same way, man. Don't let people forget. But you would in no way take that as like, now I have
00:42:05.040 authority over you because I'm linked to that chain. Right, right, right. Yeah. Like the whole
00:42:08.880 history of the old Testament defies this claim. Like how many good King, bad King, good King,
00:42:14.800 bad King, good priests, bad priests, good priests, bad priests, like just go through first and second
00:42:19.360 kings for second chronicles like you had generation after generation you would be like oh and these
00:42:24.900 are people that had angelic visitation on an often often basis and the the word of god like they were
00:42:31.800 supposed to be teaching people from malachi 2 6 and 7 they were supposed to be teaching the the
00:42:36.060 whole of israel through the word of god through the priesthood but then here we go a new king
00:42:39.580 comes out and says we should start worshiping bale and then the priests start worshiping bale
00:42:43.520 and you're like okay okay what happened to that apostolic secession what happened to that priestly
00:42:48.440 secession there. It can be broken that easily when there's literally an angel constantly showing up
00:42:55.020 to do judgment on your nation because you guys are reprobate. And you don't have the fear of an
00:42:59.520 angel to show up with divine justice on you, like the one in 1 Chronicles 21 that kills 70,000
00:43:04.780 people in three days when David decides to number his army. So if that looming threat is always
00:43:11.000 about, and you still don't have enough respect for God to not change his doctrine, or like in
00:43:16.420 Jeremiah 8, not for the scribes who were a part of the priesthood to start changing doctrine,
00:43:21.580 the lion pen of the scribes.
00:43:23.340 You guys, are you familiar with those aspects of Old Testament apostasy?
00:43:27.820 So that was like a massive thing within ancient Israel.
00:43:31.480 It was like they had sound doctrine.
00:43:32.840 They had an angel there in a Urim and a Thummim in the breastplate of the high priest to go
00:43:38.980 and consult God for the specifics on sound doctrine.
00:43:42.740 And they still rebelled and started teaching false doctrine.

00:44:59.240 Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself
00:45:01.840 for an hour, you might as well publish it.
00:45:04.840 And so you're trying to, oh, well, you know,
00:45:07.420 because the claim is,
00:45:09.800 well they didn't have the holy spirit back then and i'm like i'm sorry that's where i strongly
00:45:14.760 disagree exes uh numbers chapter 11 the holy spirit fills 70 of the elders who are elders
00:45:21.420 from each tribe and they're tasked like like uh um matt was saying from exes 18 they're tasked
00:45:27.260 for moses to teach hundreds and fifties and tens to teach within their tribe to all statutes and
00:45:32.700 ordinances of god david sins with basheba and says lord don't take your holy spirit from me
00:45:38.240 Yeah, the Holy Spirit, like Exodus chapter 38, God directly says, go take, no, it's actually in Numbers 35, I believe.
00:45:47.960 He's talking about Joshua, and he's saying, Joshua has the Spirit of God in him.
00:45:51.980 It's like directly says, I like Joshua, he has the Spirit of God in him.
00:45:55.960 What do you make up, we were reading through Tozer, A.W. Tozer, and he's talking about the function of the Holy Spirit in the church
00:46:04.300 and how when the Holy Spirit first fell on Pentecost,
00:46:08.140 that it could never really be the same exact way
00:46:10.540 because it fell on the entirety of the church.
00:46:13.520 All the believers that ever existed
00:46:15.400 were there in that room.
00:46:17.400 And once they dispersed,
00:46:18.840 that day it turned into like 3,000, right? 0.95
00:46:22.180 When they start talking in tongues
00:46:23.620 and people are like, oh, what's happening here?
00:46:25.600 So immediately you can never have one room
00:46:29.220 of all of the believers in Christ,
00:46:32.140 which is the church inside of a room.
00:46:33.900 like that's like you can't even do that anymore so if we're like i don't know i was kind of but
00:46:37.860 that's thinking yeah i'm sorry go ahead go ahead finish i was i was thinking through that argument
00:46:41.700 of like okay like if that is the church if that is the one true church that like we're we're basing
00:46:46.060 things upon at least like this new the new testament idea of it once that once they disperse
00:46:52.000 you can never really do that again there's like just too many believers to get them all in one
00:46:55.920 spot for it to be the church does that make any sense what i'm saying here yeah yeah even with
00:47:01.760 that like no no disrespect tozer i think he's a great man i read multiple many of his books
00:47:06.040 knowledge of the holy was one of my favorite books but i think that uh that premise in itself
00:47:10.760 is not even technically accurate because there was like a whole bunch of other people that
00:47:13.740 believe in jesus that were not in that room i mean you see him interacting with these people
00:47:18.060 throughout and healing them sometimes throughout the gospels that's true like there's a whole
00:47:22.340 bunch of people that weren't with the immediate group of the apostles and their extended families
00:47:25.840 and friends and stuff like that so they're um and yes peter preached that day and added 3 000 that
00:47:31.220 that a lot of people were in for Pentecost from different nations, and so it was a wonderful
00:47:34.800 evangelistic moment. But ultimately, there's even historical accounts of an Armenian king
00:47:42.340 who had some sort of—they assume it was like gout. And he's writing a letter to Jesus during
00:47:48.940 Jesus's earthly ministry before he went to the cross. And this is documented in history, by the
00:47:53.340 way. And he's writing a letter to Jesus asking him if he'll travel to him to heal him of his gout.
00:47:58.140 and jesus says no the response comes back apparently they claim this is a letter that is
00:48:05.200 supposedly venerated in its authenticity by the orthodox and catholic church
00:48:09.520 that jesus wrote back and said i can't travel to you i must finish the work that i'm assigned to
00:48:15.860 here in in samaria and jerusalem but after i ascend back to heaven i'll send thaddeus to you
00:48:22.520 and he'll heal you and then that's the rest of the story after the resurrection ascension
00:48:27.480 thaddeus travels to armenia and and heals this guy and his servant of whatever physical ailment
00:48:32.300 they have that king then writes a letter to emperor titus or whoever the emperor was at the
00:48:37.640 time in rome and says hey this disciple of jesus um healed us healed of our of our debilitating
00:48:45.040 disease you should make him a god in the roman pantheon and and uh the roman emperor's like
00:48:50.640 oh well think about it and he actually proposed it to the senate and they turned it down so
00:48:56.060 crazy the armenian king became a believer through thaddeus right but the armenian king already had
00:49:02.900 the same type of faith and belief in jesus as a prophet of god as the son of god as the messiah
00:49:08.240 who is he just has all the other people that came to him for healing he just couldn't travel to come
00:49:12.380 right kind of like the centurion who sent his servant to ask for healing on his behalf right
00:49:17.360 or on his daughter's behalf or whatever so that's um there were lots of people who heard about him
00:49:22.420 and believed in him and had genuine faith
00:49:24.400 but just weren't a part, like the Syrophoenician
00:49:26.460 lady, right, which he says that no one in Israel
00:49:28.340 I've seen someone with such great faith
00:49:29.660 but she was from Syrophoenicia, she wasn't one of the
00:49:32.320 70 or the 12
00:49:33.400 and there's
00:49:36.440 even the guy who's casting out demons
00:49:38.140 and John says, hey man, he's not part of our group
00:49:40.360 so we told him to stop and Jesus said, no, no, no
00:49:42.420 don't tell him to stop just because he's not
00:49:44.380 part of our group. It's a fair point
00:49:45.800 There's a reason the Pharisees
00:49:48.280 fear Jesus, I think it's in John chapter 8
00:49:50.360 where Nicodemus is talking with the rest of the Pharisees
00:49:52.680 and they're like, if we don't do something and stop
00:49:54.640 him, everyone's going to believe in him.
00:49:56.740 I don't know. There's a weird thing, though. He does hang out
00:49:58.520 for 40 days and communicating
00:50:00.460 with everybody, right?
00:50:02.220 And then they have 10 days
00:50:04.180 where they're just there until Pentecost.
00:50:07.100 So it would be weird if people
00:50:08.560 weren't there while he was walking
00:50:10.700 around those 40 days.
00:50:11.920 All those people were gathering everybody.
00:50:14.560 Yeah, you're right. It spread like wildfire
00:50:16.860 during his ministry.
00:50:17.800 end yeah first corinthians 15 says he appeared to 500 people after he's resurrected so so i'm sure
00:50:24.840 they believed in him i mean i'm just a guess you know i don't know if he's just appearing to randos
00:50:29.460 that they didn't realize who he was and what what the story yeah that's a wild thing 500 people like
00:50:34.400 what was that scenario you know we don't get the d we don't get the details of when he appears to
00:50:38.540 peter either we just know that yeah but see here's here's where um early christians didn't even share
00:50:45.400 that sentiment like so so top that the the thing you quoted from tozer is i understand why you're
00:50:52.360 saying that and it's almost assuming the uh the efficacy of the holy spirit you know reaching all
00:50:58.420 the leadership of the church at one time and then there was never a situation like that because then
00:51:02.080 they were scattered dispersed on missionary trips and it was not the same deal um and so therefore
00:51:06.260 that was the the prime and opportune time for the holy spirit to do that but that's just like
00:51:11.500 assuming the holy spirit would just not operate like it always operates true which is to just go
00:51:17.540 to the faithful people and either give them a vision of or divine inspiration with the word
00:51:22.820 of god which is literally called one of the gifts of the spirit well sean we don't know where the
00:51:26.920 spirit is so we can't definitely right it's in the one true church in the one true yeah i think
00:51:31.620 tojo was just saying like this is one of the things of why you know this is uh different why
00:51:35.700 it wouldn't happen today was all was the only point he was making why like that that exact
00:51:39.900 scenario that happened on pentecost like it's not going to happen again it happened and it stayed
00:51:44.440 but like this you know these are the things that were external to that experience that didn't
00:51:48.960 really matter these are the things are internal that did last like that was the context for what
00:51:53.160 he was saying okay so matt what happens if at acts chapter two peter comes out after they stop
00:51:58.440 speaking in tongues what happens if peter's first thing he says is okay i declare to all to you now
00:52:04.000 that the mother of jesus is still a virgin she's sinless she's in heaven she's now deified she's
00:52:10.800 now considered immaculate she's now uh in a position of actual ontological status in the
00:52:17.280 same way of god and the father and now we're going to call her queen of heaven our lady our mother
00:52:21.320 who is also creator of all crazy how do you how do you think that would have went in acts 2
00:52:27.800 they probably would kill people there right right i mean it's funny because she's in the upper room
00:52:32.760 she's part of the 120 she probably would have been like no she needed though of course she'd
00:52:36.800 be like no she'd be she's like she's gotta be looking at this and just going no what is the
00:52:41.140 heartbreaking part about when i see mary venerated i'm like oh she's gotta hate it man i hope she's
00:52:46.060 not looking she was part of the 120 she needed the holy spirit just like everybody else it's crazy
00:52:51.020 too because we've talked about that in the past that uh passage from jeremiah where it's like not
00:52:55.500 only are they venerating her which is probably bumming her out but they're also calling her
00:52:58.400 the queen of heaven which is like the only time that's used in scripture is to talk about isis
00:53:02.440 or ishtar like that's the eye of raw go on that was the eye of raw oh you guys did a whole episode
00:53:11.040 yeah that's right yes isis is the in hathor is the egyptian personification of the eye of raw
00:53:18.800 and now we're calling mary that it's just sad man it's just so look what we're going to look at in
00:53:25.320 some of these furthering points though is is you're going to see these are look these are just
00:53:28.600 men that are fallible men. That's why none of these church writings are inspired, even though
00:53:32.920 their dogma that is pulled from their statements becomes enforced. No, the church still hypocritically 0.79
00:53:39.240 doesn't say that those men's thoughts and writings are inspired by God. And that's why they not only
00:53:44.740 like Augustine contradicts himself at times over his career, but then, but, but between the 200s
00:53:49.760 and the 500s, you see contradictions, blatant contradictions, which we'll go over some of them
00:53:53.740 here in just a minute but um so look this is why i put the eusebius church history um this is the
00:53:59.100 third century and book five he talks about the bishops of jerusalem um and he and this says
00:54:04.580 right here that the chronology of the bishops of jerusalem i found nowhere found preserved in
00:54:08.420 writing for tradition says that they were all short-lived for i've learned this much from
00:54:15.220 writings until the siege of the jews which took place under adrian there were 15 bishops in
00:54:20.080 secession there, all of whom are said to have been Hebrew descent. Oh, that makes sense. All
00:54:24.680 the apostles were Hebrew, right? And they all lived in Jerusalem. And I have to receive the
00:54:31.820 knowledge of Christ in purity that they were approved by those who were able to judge such
00:54:34.720 matters and were deemed worthy of the episcopate. That's the word for bishop. But their whole church
00:54:39.800 consisted then in believing Hebrews who continued from the days of the apostles until the siege
00:54:43.320 which took place at that time, in which the siege of the Jews, having been rebelled against the
00:54:46.760 Romans were conquered after severe battles. For since the bishops of the circumcision ceased at
00:54:51.080 this time, it's proper to give here a list of their names from the beginning. They even have
00:54:55.080 the names. The first was James, the brother of the Lord, the second Simeon or Simon, the third
00:55:00.600 Justice, the four, Zacchaeus, Tobias, Benjamin, John, Matthias, Matthias, Philip, Seneca, Justice,
00:55:06.520 Levi, Ephraim, Joseph, and Judas. These are the guys that, here's the rest of the story, okay?
00:55:13.140 here's the rest of the book of Acts. You don't see all the men that had hands laid upon in the
00:55:17.620 years following, like the 20, the between Christ resurrecting and ascending to AD 70. All right,
00:55:23.840 well, here's, here's the rest of the bishops. Here's the, the bishops, the last list of names
00:55:28.000 of bishops they had. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you understand them.

00:56:42.700 Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour,
00:56:46.340 you might as well publish it. 0.95
00:56:48.340 Until Jerusalem was invaded and all the believers were scattered from it, 0.95
00:56:52.920 or the majority were, okay?
00:56:54.880 These are bishops of Jerusalem that live between the age of the apostles
00:56:57.320 and the time referred to, to all them belonging to the circumcision.
00:57:00.020 In the 12th year of the year reign of Adrian Zistus, they completed the 10th year of this
00:57:03.860 Episcopate, was seceded by Telus Forrest, the 7th in secession from the apostles.
00:57:08.880 So in the 12th reign of the year of Adrian Zistus, they completed the 10th year of his
00:57:13.300 Episcopate, was seceded by Telus Forrest.
00:57:16.980 So as you guys aren't aware, Telus Forrest is like early 2nd century, after John died,
00:57:24.300 after John the apostle died, right?
00:57:26.540 And Telus Forrest is actually, I included him in my Christmas video where I was defending Christmas against some claims from the Hebrew Roots crowd.
00:57:36.000 But Telus Forrest was one of the guys that is in his writings mentioning how believers were getting together in the early second century on their own volition, not by decree of a church leader.
00:57:45.900 They were just getting together on their own volition to celebrate what they thought was
00:57:50.060 the birth of Christ and the incarnation of Christ through the woman Mary, because it
00:57:54.140 was being attacked by docetists from the Gnostic community. 0.52
00:57:57.480 And so they just started their own tradition of getting together and saying, no, no, we
00:58:00.260 do believe he was incarnate and that he was not just a spiritual being without flesh.
00:58:07.980 So that's Telesphorus's time period, which is like after John the Baptist and 40, 50
00:58:15.100 years after the siege of jerusalem by the romans so there's a gap right there in their writings
00:58:21.820 there's a gap right there in their writings about wait a minute we don't have
00:58:24.780 like these hebrews these these direct descendants of hebrew secession bishops from jerusalem that
00:58:30.380 are hebrew that stopped and then we're picking back up here in the second century tell us for us
00:58:36.300 and how long is that gap 50 60 years depends on the on the you know i would say maybe 40 at the
00:58:42.380 the minimum. But the point is, but yeah, it's half a generation. So the idea though is people
00:58:48.120 say, well, John the Baptist or John the apostle was still alive. And then he went, he gave his
00:58:52.040 secession to Polycarp and then Polycratus and some other guys from Smyrna and things like that.
00:58:56.260 And Timothy, that's fine. That's okay. You can have that. But even if you have an unbroken line
00:59:03.280 of secession, what would break secession? That's the bigger issue of doctrine. What would break
00:59:08.600 succession. Just like in the same way, uh, the, the next 21, the group of apostles in Jerusalem,
00:59:14.720 when Paul came back from his third missionary journey, they said to him, we've heard some
00:59:18.320 things about you. Let's have a little chat, right? He got pulled into the principal's office.
00:59:22.160 You know what I'm saying? And they were like, Oh, we've heard these things about you that you're
00:59:25.140 taking people that don't have to walk according to our traditions and law of Moses. And, and then
00:59:29.240 there's like, so prove that this is wrong. Go, we have four men already ready to take a vow.
00:59:33.540 These are converts by the way, and pay for their expenses. And you go take a vow offering too.
00:59:38.600 So a vow offering was, in the law, it was to show that you were dedicated to Yahweh 0.67
00:59:42.680 and that you were circumcised in your heart and to Yahweh,
00:59:46.520 like that you were vowing your allegiance to Yahweh, okay? 0.65
00:59:49.520 And it required you to go take an animal and do a process.
00:59:53.600 You can read about Numbers chapter 6.
00:59:54.900 So that's where the lead apostles, right, that Peter, Paul himself, excuse me,
01:00:02.600 in Galatians chapter 2, said were considered pillars of the faith,
01:00:05.680 Peter, James, and John.
01:00:06.460 there with the other apostles and they say yeah look how many we've you know like how many we
01:00:11.760 brought in who were zealous for the law of god too they brought into the faith like they're
01:00:15.640 comparing fruit baskets when he gets back from his ministry journey but then they're also having
01:00:19.520 to address the gossip they heard about paul which was that he was and it was gossip from the party
01:00:23.520 of circumcision and the pharisees they were always following paul around trying to steal his converts
01:00:27.620 and saying that paul was teaching false things the false things he was teaching was against the
01:00:31.860 oral traditions of the Pharisees, the same things that Christ taught against in Matthew 7 and Matthew
01:00:36.720 23, right? That they neatly set aside the commandments to God in favor of their traditions. 0.87
01:00:40.980 So Paul's keeping that same energy and teaching against, that's why in Galatians 1 he says,
01:00:45.620 you know, you've heard of, I was zealous for the traditions of my fathers, but now he's not,
01:00:50.360 now he's following Christ, right? So that's where there was, if people aren't aware in early first
01:00:56.180 century Judaism, the circumcision party, which was a part of a Pharisee sect, they believed in oral
01:01:03.620 Torah. They believed in oral tradition. They believed that on Mount Sinai, and this is not
01:01:07.020 in scripture, this is just their belief. They believed on Mount Sinai, when God spoke, he gave
01:01:11.440 the written law, but then he gave the interpretation to Moses, and that wasn't written down.
01:01:18.340 So therefore, you got to go to them to get the interpretation, and that oral Torah has been
01:01:23.860 passed down from student Pharisees or a rabbi to rabbi to rabbi all all from Moses all the way to
01:01:30.780 the days of the Pharisees and the Sadducees and now they have maintained the oral tradition
01:01:36.060 and even that is just a ridiculously easy debunked claim that we have from if you read the Talmud
01:01:43.300 and the Mishnah like they're constantly arguing with each other they don't agree on anything
01:01:46.560 like what are you talking about do you guys don't agree on anything like you pride yourselves in
01:01:52.360 bickering over things. And you're trying to tell me y'all have had the same oral teachings to
01:01:56.420 explain the law. And that's why Christ came to magnify the law because there was so, that's why
01:02:01.720 he called them the people sheep without shepherds. And he called the, the, the false shepherds, 0.96
01:02:06.320 the Pharisees, Sadducees, and religious leaders to call them blind guides because they weren't
01:02:09.920 teaching proper stuff. So that's where the, that claim has been, has been accused of Paul. It's
01:02:16.580 kind of weird that you brought up the, uh, the claims about Paul being a false apostle because
01:02:20.260 it lends into this stuff, right?
01:02:22.240 Because you can't just claim that you have apostolic
01:02:24.200 succession and teach something Paul didn't teach.
01:02:28.160 What are you apostle of? Apostle means
01:02:30.300 the sent one who has the same message as the person
01:02:32.200 that sent you. How do you
01:02:34.220 be apostle of people that you
01:02:36.080 teach contrary things? So, let's
01:02:38.300 go into some contrary things that we see being
01:02:40.300 taught throughout history.
01:02:41.000 Alright, so
01:02:42.720 here's the
01:02:45.100 seven required sacraments
01:02:46.860 of the Orthodox Church.
01:02:48.260 baptism usually by triple immersion
01:02:50.640 which also includes infants
01:02:52.020 okay so do you guys see any
01:02:54.060 videos are crazy yeah they'd be like
01:02:56.000 dipping the baby oh yeah yeah
01:02:57.480 sides of the baby you gotta make sure
01:03:00.300 that it's fully covered they got some good
01:03:02.280 technique yeah
01:03:03.340 anybody read about triple immersion
01:03:06.060 and for baptism as a
01:03:08.340 required aspect of salvation
01:03:10.220 what's the idea of triple immersion
01:03:12.500 in the name of the father son and holy spirit
01:03:14.300 right I might even be wrong here
01:03:16.240 yeah that's what they were saying
01:03:18.240 but i might be wrong here i don't even agree with baptism like in the church that i go to they were
01:03:23.480 talking to my kids about baptism like yeah seeing if they wanted to get him interested and my kids
01:03:27.420 started talking to me about i'm like what the hell do you know about like it's it's it's a weird one
01:03:31.760 i'm not sure but i'm like i feel like you should understand what you're getting into before you do
01:03:36.080 back if it's a posture of your heart how could that be how could you have posture of your heart
01:03:39.660 you're eight years old you don't know anything i'm not saying there's not some eight-year-olds
01:03:43.180 out there that something happened you know be knowing something i'm not you know but it's like
01:03:47.100 Yeah, the idea, like you tell us, Matt, is like you're leaving the enemies of your life on the other side of this water, kind of like the parting of the Red Sea.
01:03:56.780 That's symbolic of baptism.
01:03:58.680 That's part of it.
01:03:59.160 And I'm looking at my kids and I'm like, what enemies?
01:04:01.360 You're homeschooled.
01:04:02.600 Your sisters.
01:04:04.940 So I'm just like, hey, you know what?
01:04:07.040 Let's hold off on that.
01:04:08.300 And we'll talk about this.
01:04:09.460 And when you get a little older and you really understand what this means.
01:04:13.060 I agree.
01:04:13.300 It shouldn't be something flippantly done either because then it's meaningless.
01:04:16.120 this is be something you where you're at with this sean is this because infant baptism is
01:04:19.640 yeah yeah i don't point in either yeah if the baptism represents your repentance to god
01:04:26.080 it should be done through someone that's cognizant of what's happening right because you can't force
01:04:31.260 repentance on people i mean that's that's what islam does islam says if you're born into a 0.59
01:04:35.260 muslim family you're muslim for life you're already in there's there you know like that's
01:04:40.160 this isn't what is this is there anything biblical about like maybe like dedicating your family like
01:04:45.020 you're still the spiritual head of the household and so you can have your dedication yeah i'm
01:04:50.040 sorry go ahead no no i mean that's it's pretty much the question if you would have let me i
01:04:53.400 would have rambled for too long go on sorry the dedication in the bible that's prescribed
01:04:57.640 is circumcision on the eighth day that was that was you establishing the covenant but even paul
01:05:02.660 says in romans chapter two your circumcision doesn't mean anything if you're not doing the
01:05:05.440 law of god if your heart's not circumcised to him either like your circumcision means nothing
01:05:09.200 circumcision only has value if you do the law of god right and and if you're doing the law of god
01:05:14.100 how God explains that like in jeremy 10 16 in jeremiah 4 4 that only counts you doing the law
01:05:19.400 of God only counts if your heart's circumcised to him right so all of it goes back to an inward
01:05:24.180 heart disposition do you truly want to follow yahweh or are you trying to somehow siphon
01:05:28.860 benefits from him and claim to be a part of his group without actually being sincere right because
01:05:34.340 God knows the thoughts and intents of the heart right so he's he wants you he wants your heart
01:05:38.300 not just your sacrifice, right? He wants your actual heart, right? So that's where that's the
01:05:44.140 dedication familially, like eighth day boy, right? There is no dedication for girls, but you would
01:05:50.100 assume, but this is why you would have in Deuteronomy chapter six, the command to teach
01:05:55.260 your sons and daughters while you wake, while you rise up, while you walk in the street, while you
01:05:59.040 lie down, put it on your doorpost, put it on your gatepost, like make sure you teach them the words
01:06:03.100 of Yahweh so that they know that's going to give them the mind of understanding Yahweh's ways so
01:06:09.400 they can make a good decision on whether, you know, to train them up the ways child should go
01:06:13.140 and he's older and not depart from it. So that's the idea. It was that that was the ideas of
01:06:17.040 dedicating your family, but it was never forcing your family to say, oh, you're raised, uh, like
01:06:22.360 I circumcised you on the eighth day. You were raised in the tribe of Ash, uh, Asher. So therefore
01:06:27.000 you're forever a part of Israel. No, they could go apostate if they want. And they did a whole
01:06:31.540 bunch in the old testament they did a whole bunch they just straight up thumb the nose to yahweh and
01:06:36.780 serve bales and other gods you know so that's the idea of like um in the same way the person can be
01:06:43.700 baptized as an infant but then grow up and be an atheist and we see it all the time yeah i i jokingly
01:06:49.300 say the catholic the roman catholic church is one of the number one producers of atheists
01:06:54.120 you might be right actually but so i i i don't want to continue to uh derail you because i
01:07:00.240 There's seven points here, I think, and we're already an hour in.
01:07:05.060 So let's try to, we'll probably have to just do it.

01:08:19.820 at spreaker.com spreaker because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour you might as well
01:08:26.080 publish it second part two but yeah let's get into this yeah so obviously chrismation the
01:08:31.820 confirmation concept usually it's like a catechumen process you know it takes anywhere from a year to
01:08:35.820 year and a half to to teach you about what they believe and then confirm you uh you see the same
01:08:40.540 thing with the roman catholic church as well the eucharist you know i don't know if you guys know
01:08:44.700 much about the, the lore, uh, surrounding their beliefs about the Eucharist and how they did not
01:08:50.420 think it was just symbolic, but they thought it was literally the blood and the body of Christ
01:08:55.060 after they have the prayer. And they believe that the prayer, they pull the prayer from like Luke
01:09:00.060 22 and where Jesus is, you know, praying before he does the bread and wine, by the way, during
01:09:06.180 which he's keeping Passover, he's keeping the festival of Passover. And so that when he's like,
01:09:12.680 oh, and when you do this, this represents my body. It's broken for you. This represents my
01:09:16.300 blood that spilled for you. So just like the Passover was given meaning when they came out
01:09:20.960 of Exodus, when you do the Passover and your child acts, like Exodus chapter 12, Yahweh tells
01:09:26.220 them, when your child asks, why are we doing the Passover? Tell them it's because God brought us
01:09:29.660 out of Egypt, out of bondage. In Jeremiah 23, it says there's going to be a new reason given to
01:09:35.660 the Passover, and it will be because all the nations are brought out and we're given salvation
01:09:40.320 by God at the kingdom come. And that'll be the new reason for Passover. But here comes Christ,
01:09:45.580 the Son of God, saying, oh, by the way, when you do this, do this in remembrance of me.
01:09:48.600 What are they doing at the time? They're doing Passover. And I would suggest that's why Paul
01:09:54.560 tells us in 1 Corinthians 5, 7, therefore, let us keep the feast, not with insincerity and
01:10:00.040 wickedness, but with the bread of truth and righteousness. So this idea of like,
01:10:05.620 they, you know, Paul kept the Passover multiple times in the book of Acts. I'm going to show you
01:10:09.260 that they were keeping the Passover until the 4th century. 1.00
01:10:12.360 Christians were keeping the Passover,
01:10:14.480 and they argued about it for 200 years before they finally changed it.
01:10:17.780 It's documented.
01:10:18.780 Their argumentation is documented about it.
01:10:21.060 So the Eucharist arose out of a tradition around the 2nd century
01:10:26.040 of taking something that is applied in metaphor,
01:10:30.420 that Christ applies in metaphor,
01:10:31.680 and making it kind of a literal aspect of an actual liturgy,
01:10:34.760 of their actual service,
01:10:36.320 to say we're going to pray over this bread and wine,
01:10:37.980 And when you eat it, it's going to turn into the blood and body of Christ when you eat it.
01:10:41.840 And therefore, it's going to become efficacious to your salvation and keep you saved.
01:10:47.940 Do you guys understand that?
01:10:49.420 Yeah, I thought it was a beef with somebody.
01:10:51.340 I think it was a Puritan.
01:10:52.620 It had to have been a Puritan that had beef, I'm guessing, with Catholic or maybe Orthodox over this and said,
01:10:59.840 yeah, because when we pray for it, it turns into the body of Christ.
01:11:02.620 He said, yeah, no problem.
01:11:03.380 We'll just leave it out and we'll see if it molds.
01:11:06.100 Right, right.
01:11:06.680 I forget the story, but I remember that years ago.
01:11:11.360 Isn't that weird, though?
01:11:12.260 What do you mean that's actually the body of Christ?
01:11:15.200 It has mold on it.
01:11:15.960 Aren't we starting to get into some, like, listen, it could be a miracle,
01:11:19.980 but, like, the transmutation of different objects.
01:11:24.160 You're saying, like, alchemy?
01:11:25.020 Yeah, it seems like alchemy.
01:11:26.220 It seems like a little bit like witchcraft, so we're turning this into blood now.
01:11:29.980 In modernity, we just call it superstition.
01:11:32.620 Like you're, you're applying metaphysical aspects to this concept that's never taught in scripture and to say that it must, you must keep eating this bread in order to maintain your salvation.
01:11:42.240 That's the reason why I've listed it here under seven required sacraments, because they claim that you're not saved if you stopped eating the Eucharist.
01:11:48.900 And I'm guessing you got to get it from them on top of it.
01:11:51.640 Yeah. 0.94
01:11:51.940 They're a priestess to prayer of it.
01:11:53.300 Otherwise there's no, it's not bread.
01:11:54.720 You know when we talk about like Palantir and like even the Federal Reserve or like who could have the most power over humans?
01:12:01.720 it's not yeah it's like dude imagine they're like yeah yeah you got to come through us for the for
01:12:06.860 the salvation why like you got to do baptism through us you got to do the eucharist through
01:12:10.480 us why roman uh the roman empire integrated christianity it's like it was a genius move
01:12:15.620 turns out into into the vatican genius genius so four five six and seven um we can we could
01:12:23.160 easily skip over those but you guys get the idea you must confess to them you must if you're a um
01:12:27.440 a bishop or a pastor or a priest you must be ordinated through them there is no authority
01:12:33.240 outside of them from which you could you could serve in ministry unless it's through them
01:12:36.700 marriage you must be married through them and then the holy unction to actually profess and
01:12:40.860 believe the eucharist is the real body and blood of christ as the center of their liturgy the center
01:12:45.060 of their worship services so this is the idea that if they don't have the eucharist involved
01:12:49.540 then it's not a true worship to god and they're not actually um there's no power there there's
01:12:54.080 no presence of God there. So all these things is what they call required sacraments. Now Protestants
01:12:59.020 basically kept two, even though some Presbyterians still do the Eucharist, but in the Protestant
01:13:05.180 Reformation, they just abandoned five of them and kept mostly two of them. So either way,
01:13:10.740 the next one here— So where in the Bible does it say that, though?
01:13:13.980 Well, that's the problem. These are all just claims.
01:13:17.360 Well, you can pull from the Bible where it talks about confessing our sins to one another,
01:13:21.260 But when they're talking about a confession, I got a little bit of history with this.
01:13:24.480 Because when I was a little kid, we went to the Catholic church.
01:13:27.220 And then I went in and was like, yeah, man, I've been saying cuss words and stole some stuff from my sister's room.
01:13:32.600 And there's like this wall in between us, right?
01:13:34.860 There's a wall between us and the so-called father, they call him, is on the other side, right?
01:13:40.480 He's like, oh, he's like this super holy voice.
01:13:42.800 And he's like, go say this many Hail Marys and this many Our Fathers.
01:13:46.300 Like I was there.
01:13:47.080 I heard him tell me that.
01:13:48.500 He said that to me.
01:13:49.600 He said, go say this many, our father's thing that we know to say this many Hail Marys.
01:13:54.080 He never said like, he never was like, Hey bro, meet me outside the door real quick.
01:13:58.400 And then like, look me in the eye and say, bro, Jesus died for your sin, man.
01:14:01.460 Like you can go to Jesus for this.
01:14:02.980 Like he paid the penalty.
01:14:04.040 Like he is the penalty.
01:14:05.220 We're going to get to, we're going to get to that.
01:14:07.180 They don't say that.
01:14:08.780 They say, do these things, you know?
01:14:11.460 And that's what I'm saying.
01:14:12.140 When I'm like, when I got a Bible, I could have went back and choked the guy, dude.
01:14:15.080 Like imagine if I would have understood that when I was a kid, the Bible says, don't do
01:14:18.620 that.
01:14:18.860 when i was a kid i was like i can't believe they didn't say that dude but it's just this whole
01:14:24.060 system that like yeah you got to go through me how many hell marys would you have been required
01:14:28.540 to say had you confessed to sleeping with his wife question man double probably i don't know
01:14:35.420 very good question man it's just so wild so if we that's why i went through the the concept number
01:14:43.340 two is the concept of the seven sacraments okay so that's the idea of making these concepts a
01:14:49.660 requirement through them in order for you to have salvation that is not spoken in the scriptures
01:14:55.500 that is just not spoken in the scriptures that you have to you can only be baptized baptized
01:14:59.900 through them uh in order to be um saved that you have to be confirmed by them in order to walk with
01:15:07.780 god and to and to have the the deposit of the spirit and that you have to take the eucharist
01:15:12.420 to maintain your salvation like all this stuff is just appealing to their apostolic secession
01:15:18.540 that's why i put apostolic session as number one okay it's a kind of a the app the the appealing
01:15:23.740 to it it's a it's called a debate fallacy right it's appealing to authority and they just
01:15:27.740 conveniently made themselves the authority so brilliant yeah it makes it that you can't have
01:15:33.100 any intelligible argument against him because they just appeal to authority and they are so they
01:15:37.880 which is why yeah they they kept appealing to authority and then at a certain point excuse my 0.98
01:15:42.160 language i'm like fuck all of your saints and like as a matter of fact one of your most famous ones 0.99
01:15:46.920 was gay and they don't really they don't really like that so that's where this is the apostolic 0.99
01:15:52.580 secession even if you try to say well the hebrew bishops in jerusalem that they're all dispersed
01:15:58.000 but john was alive and he passed on secession through smyrna but then they appeal to fathers
01:16:03.580 who are in uh salamis which is like on crete i believe and cyprus and carthage which is north
01:16:10.820 africa they appeal to guys that they believe that were anyway the whole point is then you get later 0.53
01:16:16.740 once you get to the the nicene controversy do you get the semi-arians took over for like 40 50 years 0.89
01:16:23.240 and and anathematized the nicene guys i call them the nicene bros and then it wasn't until like 0.94
01:16:30.180 360 something when theodiosius took over he was raised in a family that was nicene bro
01:16:34.960 sympathetic and so therefore he then anathematized the semi-arians so that means all the bishops by
01:16:40.740 the way, some of whom we're going to read from, all the bishops that were called church fathers
01:16:46.020 during the time when they were anathematized, they were just kicked out of the church and had
01:16:50.820 no authority. They weren't considered part of the church because the Semiarians took over and
01:16:56.340 appointed different bishops. The whole thing is, this is like, I mean, it's literally like
01:17:04.120 the oldest con in the world. It's like, we're going to put on the robes. We're the authority
01:17:08.700 now yeah and if you say anything we're gonna have we have the the empire behind us now we have the
01:17:13.640 entire roman legion behind us to enforce our theological doctrine now now i'm sorry go ahead
01:17:19.060 yeah i was i was asking alex soren about this as well the concept of uh not not having uh not
01:17:24.680 having children if you're i guess you're a priest or whatever higher up in the orthodox church
01:17:29.140 and he goes yeah the reason they did that is because people were having kids and then there
01:17:34.160 was some nepotism happening and i go okay so right there you want to know the crazy thing my so i
01:17:39.360 went to my cousin's wedding this weekend right catholic the priest does the whole thing dude
01:17:44.700 he does the whole thing you know the catholic wedding takes like forever it's like an hour
01:17:49.260 whatever and he's going on saying all this stuff about like marriage and stuff and then uh i don't
01:17:55.840 like and then how would you know jess is like they they don't get married right i was like no no and
01:18:00.880 then you know what i thought it was so wild when god tells adam like he says it's not good for man
01:18:05.300 to be alone and adam was interacting face to face with god even in that state adam says man god says
01:18:10.400 man it's not good for man to be alone he needs a wife i was thinking about that then so i seen the
01:18:15.620 the priest at the uh after party or whatever the um you know after the wedding and uh he's knocking
01:18:23.180 back a couple and i'm like hey hey um so what's up man you guys you guys don't get married he goes
01:18:30.660 no no i was like no way that's wild man and then i was like dude i was like bro where are you going
01:18:36.060 with this just like don't go too far where are you from yeah no because he's like tight with my
01:18:40.880 family like he was the priest from their school where they went to and stuff and uh he's like
01:18:45.740 yeah man it's just a sacrifice that we make you know and i just thought like i don't know if i'm
01:18:50.760 if i'm being honest it's probably wrong and terrible or whatever but i was like i just
01:18:54.040 feels like this dude's banging chicks though it doesn't feel but the idea is the idea is way he's
01:18:59.240 way too laid back huh yeah but it was crazy for him to give this whole speech about marriage and
01:19:06.340 you're not married it's like so yeah that's why first timothy three we're going to go over this
01:19:10.220 towards the end first timothy three says an elder an elder overseer or bishop that's the word from

01:19:49.360 the platform responsible for a rapidly spreading condition known as podcast brain.
01:19:54.020 Symptoms include buying microphones you don't need, explaining RSS feeds to confused relatives,
01:19:59.300 and saying things like, sorry, I can't talk right now, I'm editing audio.
01:20:03.440 If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster.
01:20:07.180 The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple.
01:20:10.020 You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker distributes it everywhere people listen.
01:20:14.220 Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin swears are the next big thing.
01:20:19.460 even better spreaker helps you monetize your show with ads meaning your podcast might someday pay
01:20:24.800 for well more microphones start your show today at spreaker.com spreaker because if you're going
01:20:32.380 to talk to yourself for an hour you might as well publish it they changed the presbyter word in the
01:20:38.260 third century to the priest and this is where they get the idea and and we're going to go over that
01:20:43.480 yeah that's why you should be abandoned but one wife you should be married that's how you have
01:20:48.300 like you're saying matt that's how you have the knowledge to understand life man i didn't become
01:20:52.880 a man until i got married and children like i thought i thought i was like uh you know hot
01:20:57.760 stuff before all that and then when i i got humbled when i had got married and a child
01:21:02.040 same yeah that's what those passages are like uh to lead the house of god you got to be able to
01:21:06.480 lead your own household first man like what do you mean you're gonna that's a great point yeah
01:21:10.020 it just yeah it just makes sense it's like you you do have to prove yourself in the natural before
01:21:15.380 going to be some kind of spiritual guy. Well, I guess then what happens is, you know, the folly
01:21:19.920 of man, nepotism to that discussion. And then all of a sudden there goes your whole claim to
01:21:24.720 authority. The point I was making though is that, okay, so there was nepotism. What did you do with
01:21:28.240 those people? Right. And if, if you had to then anathemize them, anathematize them, yes. Then
01:21:35.300 therefore your chain is broken, right? Because now, unless you went back and went through some
01:21:39.300 painstaking processes, I have no idea, but it just seems like there's a, there's a critical
01:21:43.300 fail point right here and that's much further on sons of eli so right right first samuel yeah
01:21:50.260 yeah that's a rough story god took him out i mean this is why you have jacob receiving the blessing
01:21:55.780 and not esau god looks at the heart he's not he's always a violent man a man of war man of no faith
01:22:01.260 you can't you can't give the blessing to him by the way the blessing represent the priesthood
01:22:05.780 so therefore jacob gets it that's how he was chosen even though he was not the firstborn
01:22:10.040 you know um that's that's the idea like there's god can give the intended trajectory but obviously
01:22:18.160 if if he'll he'll go around the intended trajectory to find a heart who's dedicated to him
01:22:24.420 if it doesn't fit within that intended trajectory right we see that all the time in scripture you
01:22:28.960 know and that's just something that i guess we should keep in mind but that same thing with um
01:22:33.580 Like, again, if you have, like, what happens if, if, um, you know, Judas, they were, in
01:22:41.340 my opinion, they weren't being made bishops and elders and overseers.
01:22:44.200 They were being made prophets.
01:22:45.180 That's what a prophet does.
01:22:46.300 They trains up other prophets.
01:22:48.100 So this is why it's the same.
01:22:49.920 Like it's a deeper study, but this is why Jesus called disciples just like John the
01:22:54.000 Baptist had his own disciples.
01:22:55.780 Prophets trained other prophets.
01:22:57.420 That was the point.
01:22:58.120 This is why they had authority as considered apostles that that word apostles is a certain
01:23:02.580 one.
01:23:02.780 that's what a prophet is. So this is why Jesus in Hebrews 3 is called the apostle of God, right?
01:23:07.980 So this is where he's a sent one from the Father. But then below the prophet was your bishops,
01:23:14.820 elders, overseers, pastors, deacons, that kind of thing, okay? So this is why the apostles had
01:23:20.020 authority as they did given to him from Jesus. And the whole idea there is though they were
01:23:26.580 constantly addressing bad doctrine in their letters and even other people teaching bad
01:23:31.840 doctrine. Like in first Thessalonians, they're teaching that the resurrection already happened.
01:23:35.100 He's like, no, no, no, no, it hasn't. You know? So then in chapter four, he has to then go on to
01:23:39.960 explain the details of the resurrection and how it hasn't already happened and everything. So
01:23:43.560 yeah, this is, this is why doctrine equals authority. It's never just a session of lineage
01:23:51.400 or nepotism. Otherwise the, otherwise the rebellious Levites who went, who rebelled against 0.85
01:23:58.560 their righteous fathers and became unrighteous priests in ancient israel there would there 0.75
01:24:04.540 would no be chastisement for them they would there would be nothing wrong with them but instead they
01:24:08.160 were called wicked they were ousted they were expelled the whole book of malachi is yahweh
01:24:12.740 chastising unfaithful priests because they were not doing what's right you know so like that's
01:24:18.620 where um you just because suddenly you're not a priest but now you're in a different like an
01:24:24.140 overseer slash pastor elder deacon setting suddenly you can't just start adopting unsound
01:24:29.980 doctrine and then continue to be an authority like you're you're going against the entirety
01:24:34.360 of the bible's example right so that's where the next points start to come up who wrote the bible
01:24:39.620 though stop yeah who that's the crazy part if they said that that might be something but they
01:24:46.900 don't even say that their argument's weaker than that they say who gave you the bible yeah who gave
01:24:51.760 you the bible yeah you mean like oh you mean you just compiled manuscripts at your availability
01:24:56.020 back in the day before there was the internet and you put them together and said this is our
01:24:59.420 collection we like and your collection didn't even agree with people across the mediterranean
01:25:03.660 sea the ethiopians and the oriental orthodox group who has a different collection oh and that
01:25:08.440 collection is different from the armenian collection like these guys their their claims
01:25:14.040 are just claims guys you just have to remember that they these are the same people that claimed
01:25:19.040 i'm the captain no i'm yeah exactly i was gonna say that it's so funny it is it is um you find
01:25:26.340 that there's an abundant of contentious intellectuals that cleave to it and and
01:25:32.100 meaning specifically that there's like a personality type that cleaves to it and i think
01:25:37.520 even top has pointed out on this show that there's like oh they don't like this yeah it's a very
01:25:41.880 specific personality type and they like again you you've just come across the wrong person
01:25:45.840 to try to pull this scam on because like someone who like me who's been in the faith since i was a

01:25:59.400 i've seen what you were like before little authoritarians come into uh libertarianism
01:26:04.400 adopt those philosophies reject them because you realize you need god but puffed up because of
01:26:09.400 their political ideology so that's another intellectual star on their chest directly
01:26:13.620 into the orthodox church and i was like there's a through line here guys yeah and like i'm like
01:26:18.160 i'm one of you i've seen this i've seen this ladder there's also seems to be a through line

01:27:53.140 at Spreaker.com. Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour,
01:27:58.200 you might as well publish it so we went to to eusebius's church history documenting this stuff
01:28:04.540 but then we uh we can go now to um let me see here uh number three they forced believers away
01:28:12.800 from biblical sabbaths so this is something that you get and we can address colossians 2 16 and we
01:28:18.820 can address hebrews 4 if you like but the the documented history of christians for three to
01:28:25.460 400 years was that they were still keeping the weekly Sabbath and the festivals, the yearly
01:28:30.980 festivals of God. If they weren't, there'd be no reason for them to have special meetings to
01:28:36.400 anathematize people who try to keep them still, okay? So this is why they did. They had a sonata
01:28:42.240 letter to the Church of Alexandria and Constantine's letter to the churches, preserved by Eusebius.
01:28:47.780 The letter of the Council of Nicaea to the Church of Alexandria says,
01:28:50.680 We also send you the good news, the settlement concerning the Holy Pascha, which is the Passover, the Sabbath, the Sabbath of the Passover, which is the meal you eat at the start of the seven day festival unleavened bread.
01:29:02.300 Right.
01:29:02.820 That's in Leviticus 23, Exodus 23, Numbers 28.
01:29:06.280 And it is Jubilees chapter 48 in great detail explains the Passover and how it starts, why it's a seven day festival.
01:29:14.460 And it is originally birthed.
01:29:16.580 birthed you know because you ever wondered why um they're keeping it before they left the exodus
01:29:22.180 like you know they kept it the night that they ended up leaving and then they're they're told
01:29:27.920 later when your children ask you why do you still keep this festival say it's because god brought
01:29:31.840 us out in the exodus but in jubilees tells you that they were already abraham kept a seven-day
01:29:37.580 festival to lord specifically in connection with genesis 22 and taking eyes up on the mountain and
01:29:43.540 you know not having to slay isaac but having the ram that god provided so that was the same
01:29:48.420 festival but it just changes so this so this that's the history of the passover and why they
01:29:53.280 were it was a staple that's why christ and the apostles are doing it and luke 24 matthew 26
01:29:57.500 shouldn't be luke 22 and jesus even says in luke 22 i long to eat this with you again when it's
01:30:03.560 fulfilled in the kingdom right so jeremiah chapter 31 in the septuagint verses 7 through 9 tells you
01:30:09.380 that at the regathering of all nations, they'll be regathered for the Passover. That's just the
01:30:14.340 second coming. So there's a thing here, right? So Christians after Acts 19 or 20, Paul doesn't
01:30:25.420 leave on his journey away from wherever he was in Asia Minor until the seven days of unleavened 0.89
01:30:30.640 bread are completed, because they're still keeping this stuff. Acts chapter two is literally them
01:30:36.200 still keeping festival of first fruits, which is called Pentecost, Shavuot. Like they're still
01:30:40.740 keeping this stuff that they didn't change. And neither did Christians for three to 400 years. 0.91
01:30:45.640 And this is why once, once Constantine took over, look, I'm not doubting Constantine's conversion. 0.92
01:30:51.680 That's between him and God. But just because someone gets converted doesn't mean that they
01:30:56.460 have sound doctrine yet. And, and they, here's your, here's your fourth century,
01:31:00.820 Constantine's your fourth century, uh, page girl, Paji, whatever her name is, right?
01:31:05.040 this is a brand new believer who starts making doctrinal decisions and that's just a bad recipe
01:31:11.920 okay so this guy there was an argument for from the middle of the second century so for 180 years
01:31:20.340 and this is documented in eusebius's book five right here church history book five
01:31:26.060 by the way eusebius the church history book from eusebius is the record of the 300 years
01:31:32.320 of Christianity from the apostles until the early fourth century. Okay. And so in book five,
01:31:38.560 he's explained that the bishops of Asia led by Polycratus, um, they decided to, to decided to
01:31:44.080 hold to the old custom handed down to them. So you want to talk about traditions handed down
01:31:48.100 he himself in a letter, which he addressed to Victor and the church of Rome. So this was the
01:31:52.740 antagonist Victor and the church of Rome at the time in the mid second century. Okay. He is going
01:31:58.500 against polycratus and all the bishops of asia you guys know asia minor is what we call turkey
01:32:03.600 today okay so they set forth in the following words the tradition which had come down to him
01:32:08.260 we observed the exact day neither adding nor taking away for in asia also great lights have
01:32:13.840 fallen asleep let's talk about uh believers who've died which shall rise again on the day of the
01:32:18.600 lord's coming when he shall come with glory in heaven and seek out all the saints we're going
01:32:22.820 to talk about heaven-bound doctrine in just a minute and one of the furthering points among
01:32:26.800 these are Philip, one of the twelve apostles, who fell asleep in Heriopolis, and two aged virgin
01:32:31.240 daughters, another daughter who lived in the Holy Spirit, and now rest at Ephesus. Moreover, John,
01:32:35.260 so he goes and mentions all these bishops, okay, and how they've already died and passed on, and
01:32:39.540 how they've all kept this tradition that they're still doing, which is, all these observe the 14th
01:32:45.100 day of the Passover according to the gospel, deviating in no respect, but following the rule
01:32:51.360 of faith. And also I, Polycratus, the least of you all, do according to the traditions of my
01:32:56.020 relatives, some of whom I closely followed. For seven of my relatives are bishops, and I'm the
01:33:00.000 eighth. And my relatives also observe the day when the people put away the leaven. That's Exodus 23.
01:33:05.080 That's how you observe the first day of the seven-day festival. You get leaven out of your
01:33:08.940 house. My relatives always observe the day when the people put away the leaven. I, therefore,
01:33:12.700 brethren who have lived 65 years in the Lord have met with the brethren throughout the world
01:33:16.440 and have gone through every holy scripture, and am not scared by terrifying words. For those
01:33:21.200 greater than I have said, we ought to obey God rather than man. The terrifying words were from
01:33:25.440 victor of Rome at the time. And he was saying we should not observe the Passover in the same way
01:33:32.180 that we have been for the last 150 years. Is this like the origination of blue laws in a way?
01:33:39.700 No, this is just them slowly, incrementally chipping away at the actual traditions of
01:33:44.600 the apostles in Christ. And so this is where it first started. This is around 160, 170 AD.
01:33:49.980 and but eusebius is writing this in 325 ad guess what happens at the council of nicaea in 325
01:33:55.820 this is their first declaration where they should change the date of them observing the passover
01:34:01.140 so here's here's what i'm trying to point out guys the first this is what this this letter is
01:34:06.940 about right up here is that they're like oh yeah all the brethren in the east who have hitherto
01:34:11.060 followed the jewish practice will now observe the custom of the romans and yourselves and all of us
01:34:15.860 from the ancient times who've kept Easter together with you. Meaning the ancient times he's referring
01:34:20.280 to is this quote here, right? 200 years or 180 years earlier, the believers in Rome started
01:34:26.300 observing Passover on a different date and with different practices than the quote unquote Jews. 0.95
01:34:31.520 Whereas Polycratus and all the other bishops were like, no, no, we've been doing this the same way 0.91
01:34:35.120 since the gospel. And there was already conflict there about we should change the practice,
01:34:41.220 not just of how we do it but also what day we do it on because there was all these arguments about
01:34:46.920 calendars and when the first of the year started and all that kind of stuff so this was a 180 year
01:34:51.660 argument that got quote-unquote solved at the council of nicaea so there's many people don't 0.84
01:34:56.840 realize they didn't just talk about whether the father and the son or homo would see us at the
01:35:00.540 council of nicaea there was like 20 different additional canons of decisions of doctrine they 0.64
01:35:05.120 made. One of them was the Melita scandal. The other one was Passover date. And this was one
01:35:11.580 of the first moments where they officially said, we're going to do different behavior than Jesus
01:35:17.280 and the apostles. This might be a strong condemnation, but would you say that this
01:35:22.060 is a fulfillment of Daniel 12, Daniel 7, I remember, where he's saying he'll think to change
01:35:29.560 the the the times yeah i was right i know a lot of people ascribe that to to constantine uh because
01:35:36.740 of the new calendar they they started abiding in and the arguments there um it could be but it's
01:35:43.020 just hard for me to say because i do believe that the future antichrist will also do some wild stuff
01:35:47.460 as well so but it could be i mean there there's double fulfillment in some types of prophecies so
01:35:53.360 um but that's the point this is documented stuff guys so this when i say people today are not doing
01:35:59.280 Passover according to how Christ and the apostles kept it. So, and there's the documentation. Like
01:36:05.360 they talked about it. Here's the, here's the bigger issue. Do you mind removing this back
01:36:09.980 and putting this up full screen? Here's the bigger issue that I think a lot of Christians today don't 0.57
01:36:14.240 really grasp the gravity of people in those days because they believe they had apostolic
01:36:21.020 succession. They, to them, that meant the Holy Spirit allowed them to make new doctrine.
01:36:27.520 this is this is the man what's it called now um the new apostolic reformation they're doing the
01:36:33.560 same thing right now what are they doing it's i don't know unverified uh unverified revelation
01:36:41.520 from god or the holy spirit or whatever creating new apostles and then they go ahead and do their
01:36:46.400 own doctrine you've got very similar to the conversation we were having it was with ed
01:36:50.080 just the other day right uh no with uh steve steven uh walberg oh that's right steven walberg
01:36:57.020 great. That was a great conversation. And he was
01:36:58.760 talking about the,
01:37:01.000 you know, he will seek to change times and laws 0.73
01:37:02.980 and then also this new apostolic
01:37:05.040 reparation. It's just nothing, but it's like, it's
01:37:06.620 kind of depressing because it's the same thing over and over
01:37:08.940 again, huh? Oh yeah, yeah.
01:37:10.340 I mean, it's the same way that Jeroboam
01:37:12.540 was like, oh, we're not going to do the Feast of God anymore. 0.97
01:37:14.500 I'm going to make up some new feasts and we'll do them to Baal. 0.96
01:37:16.700 Now look, here's the rub. 0.96
01:37:18.540 Here's the difference. These men
01:37:20.380 are not worshipping Baal. And I want to be
01:37:22.420 very clear about that. I'm not condemning
01:37:24.440 these men in the sense that
01:37:26.300 jeroboam left the faith and worship bail these men are just saying they're still worshiping christ
01:37:31.820 they're still proclaiming the father son and the holy spirit they're still worshiping
01:37:35.900 you know what we would consider the god of the bible but they're not
01:37:42.220 they're slowly chipping away at the actual practices that were associated with the faith
01:37:46.700 that were the traditions handed down to them from the apostles well i'd listen that's that's uh
01:37:52.380 kind of you, Sean, but I'd argue that they're also sneaking in every other saint under the sun.
01:37:58.100 So when we're talking about worship and then the idea of veneration and, well, we're going to pray
01:38:01.820 to this intercessory saint for whatever, I don't know. I don't know your heart, not you, but I
01:38:08.020 don't know these people's heart that are doing this thing. We're going to get to Mary's Theotokas
01:38:14.520 here in a few points. Yeah. Okay. That is an interesting point though. It's like, when does
01:38:18.780 when does the heart posture in veneration change to worship and how can you even perceive that
01:38:24.640 because it looks imperceivable from where i'm sitting also um with the idea of the sabbath
01:38:28.960 what do you make with the passage where it says judge no man uh according to like how they observe
01:38:33.760 the sabbath here yeah the colossians are being persecuted by people in colossi who did not
01:38:38.720 observe the sabbath the pagans the bill the zeus worshipers so paul had taught the colossians
01:38:46.240 not from romans not from corinthians not from galatians he taught them from the law and the
01:38:51.020 prophets he that's how he evangelized these people through the scriptures that's why the
01:38:55.680 breans went to the old testament to search the scriptures and not to galatians or to colossians
01:39:00.980 or to ephesians right so that's where um that's you know some i've got the verses we'll go over
01:39:07.300 here in a minute but uh the sabbath is considered a sign that you're encountering with yahweh
01:39:11.580 and it says it's eternal and is as a ct6 and many other passages say not just the sabbaths that are
01:39:19.580 called the memorial feast days throughout the year but also the weekly will be capped and
01:39:23.740 taught to all nations at the second coming there's a ton of verses in the old testament that could be
01:39:29.140 a whole nother show but there's a ton of verses in the old testament and i have pastors professors
01:39:33.180 and phds come on my channel and i i pull up zechari 14 i'm like hey this says all nations are
01:39:38.020 drawn to zion the new jerusalem and that they have to keep tabernacles and if they don't there's
01:39:42.780 judgment for them and what do you say about this professor mr phd who teaches at a christian bible
01:39:47.180 college and they just look at me and say you know i don't know what did uh the feast won't be in the
01:39:54.840 millennial reign specifically that or even actually sacrifice well the claim is that those feasts are
01:39:59.760 done away with and all the sabbaths of god are done away with and now in the millennial reign
01:40:03.740 it doesn't seem that way every day in christ now so that's the that's the modern christian claim
01:40:09.760 um but that's just incongruent with the practices of the apostles in christ and the future prophecies
01:40:17.320 of how christ will rule the earth he's going to force everybody to take a day off work
01:40:21.280 sorry guys sorry that you don't you don't get to work seven days a week i mean there's a little
01:40:26.620 bit of discussion to be had over the passover right like i don't if i'm guessing you're saying
01:40:32.320 you celebrate passover but you do you do you sacrifice a lamb and put the blood on the door
01:40:37.400 post no brother i'm not a priest like that's you you would just do the the things that apply to
01:40:42.700 you right so it's called a sabbath a day of rest where you don't do any normal work for your
01:40:46.160 vocation and so that's how we observe it okay no i'm not a priest i don't i don't have a temple
01:40:51.540 in my backyard and i'm not sacrificing lambs on an altar you gotta work on but you see how there
01:40:55.680 would be you know people would say well what do you mean like we got to talk through this i gotta
01:40:59.060 No, I mean, listen, Matt talks about it all the time.
01:41:01.080 And he says, whether it's Saturday or Sunday or whenever, he's like, you got to take a day.
01:41:04.320 I don't take any days off.
01:41:05.500 I'm always working.
01:41:06.200 That's not good.
01:41:08.120 We need a day off, period.
01:41:10.120 Like, that's just like a human being rule.
01:41:12.720 That's why God implemented it.
01:41:13.600 Do you do Friday, like a Friday evening to Saturday evening? 0.86
01:41:17.480 I'm actually observing the Sabbath today.
01:41:20.240 So you do it?
01:41:20.840 Yeah, it's the last day of Tabernacles today, the eighth day.
01:41:24.540 Should you be doing this right now, Sean?

01:42:46.400 No, no, I'm not doing this for money.
01:42:48.360 Are you sleeping outside?
01:42:49.840 Remember, well, no, again,
01:42:51.640 And that's a modern tradition people have been doing.
01:42:55.260 I thought that was the whole thing.
01:42:56.440 It's a feast of booths that you had to be in a booth
01:42:58.300 and you had to be able to see the stars
01:42:59.720 and have the wind come through.
01:43:01.980 I don't know what verse you're talking about.
01:43:04.320 But the idea was that you had to go to Jerusalem
01:43:06.520 if there's a standing temple so you could offer your tithe.
01:43:10.800 But now people just memorialize it in different ways.
01:43:14.260 New traditions have popped up to memorialize it
01:43:16.260 amongst Torah observant people
01:43:17.400 because there is no temple. 0.95
01:43:18.680 They're not going to Jerusalem.
01:43:19.500 um and many people will go camping but that's just a tradition that they've done but is the
01:43:25.320 origin of tabernacles like coming out of the wilderness and the fact that you had to make
01:43:29.860 like a makeshift thing to sleep in yeah the origin is that you build a small temporary shelter
01:43:35.380 once you travel to jerusalem because you're going there to turn in your tithe and and observe the
01:43:40.760 festival because there was not enough there wasn't like a whole bunch of hotels back then so god was
01:43:44.980 like all right everyone built temporary festivals or temporary sukkots temporary tabernacles
01:43:49.120 temporary little houses and then um and then they just filled the suburbs of jerusalem in the
01:43:54.300 ancient days but if you actually read uh well that's a whole nother story but but in the old
01:43:59.420 testament let's just put like this they struggled to actually observe the festivals faithfully at
01:44:04.780 all yeah it's hard yeah man you get in josiah's day and they had not done it in how long man it's
01:44:10.400 like but it's not just that it's just like as you're explaining it i'm like i don't know even
01:44:15.340 even the passover at least i don't even know when it is but it would be it would be a great time for
01:44:20.120 your family to like observe rather than we're doing christmas which is i don't even i'm not
01:44:24.460 sure is like uh easter right don't yeah isn't celebrated yeah well they call it easter that
01:44:30.640 was one of the names that gets associated with it um but it's technically the pasca is what they
01:44:35.200 call it in the orthodox church they still hold it to today it's still they still do it it's just not
01:44:39.800 according to the biblical calendar and it's not you know they don't get the leaven out of their
01:44:43.000 house and observe a seven-day festival um they just add other practices to it but they still
01:44:48.420 kept the name for some reason the pasca which it means the passover so it's it that's that's the
01:44:53.600 history of it how it slowly morphs you know what it is sean it's like because i it's it's an uphill
01:44:57.740 battle that you're that you're arguing for like you're arguing for these old traditions which are
01:45:01.760 new traditions to us but i'm just thinking like in in my house like you've been you've been to 0.85
01:45:07.360 my house on christmas morning oh yeah it's retarded my mom's like everyone's wearing a hat 0.77
01:45:13.040 and we're doing this and it's like there's christmas there's breakfast gifts and i was 0.92
01:45:16.860 like so insane this breakfast gifts is the craziest i don't know if that's like puerto 0.89
01:45:20.540 rican it's retarded it's not it's just it's a tradition created by my mom yes for a tradition 0.92
01:45:26.460 created by consumers i mean it got me a new chainsaw so i'm happy with it yeah and we want 0.83
01:45:30.980 that back see like even even with the modern christmas tradition like the origin of it from
01:45:36.000 the second century, like I already mentioned, was just believers getting together to sing praises
01:45:41.580 to God and read scriptures. And that was literally all they did originally. Obviously, over many
01:45:47.180 centuries, all these other traditions from different cultures had blended together and
01:45:50.120 became the commercialized version we see today. But like the origins of it, they were just being
01:45:54.460 assaulted by Gnostics who claimed that Jesus didn't show up in the flesh, that he was just a
01:45:58.580 spirit that gave a phantom apparition of walking around and talking to them, but that he wasn't
01:46:04.380 really a physical fleshly person wait so the christians were pushing back and saying no he
01:46:09.160 no i i got it i'm sorry i gotta know we're never gonna get through this okay okay but this has to
01:46:15.800 be asked speaking of phantom apparition sean does it look like elon shot the firmament with the
01:46:23.660 spacex rocket yesterday because we all saw this in the morning yesterday and i was like yo i gotta
01:46:28.620 know what sean thinks about this did he actually haven't seen it yet oh okay sorry sorry i don't
01:46:33.800 want to go off the rails but please if you can uh look into it and i would love to know your take
01:46:38.620 dude please help us make sense of this sean it does i mean whatever that was in the sky i did
01:46:44.700 think of sean i was like he showed it to me i was like oh yeah he hit the firmament and i was like
01:46:48.140 oh damn he hit it way harder than he's ever hit the firm it looks crazy that looked absolutely
01:46:53.840 crazy well have you guys seen the have y'all seen the old military documentation of operation dominic 0.99
01:46:58.720 no well they were just shooting missiles at the sky and it keeps bouncing onto something
01:47:04.380 really okay i don't want to take it off the rails i'm really sorry for that but i'm gonna bring up
01:47:08.960 a map on phantom apparition and i was like no that just reminded me really quickly sorry sean
01:47:13.640 this is what it looked like whatever you have dude this was crazy and it looked like the moon
01:47:20.120 was projecting to it dude like it looked like the batman thing when the batman has the thing
01:47:26.140 that shows the bat in the air.
01:47:27.800 It looks so cool when they dig up our firmament. 0.53
01:47:29.860 It looked like a holographic projection
01:47:32.380 from the moon.
01:47:34.640 It was so wild
01:47:35.640 the way the light was showing on it.
01:47:37.380 And Batman was in it?
01:47:38.500 Very weird, man.
01:47:39.500 I don't know what that is.
01:47:40.680 But yeah, this is crazy.
01:47:41.800 Look into that, please, Sean.
01:47:44.280 Oh, Operation Dominic,
01:47:45.820 a major series of 36 atmospheric
01:47:47.780 high-altitude nuclear tests,
01:47:50.160 explosions conducted by the United States
01:47:52.420 in the Pacific Ocean in 1962.
01:47:54.780 36!
01:47:56.140 36 big bombs?
01:47:58.040 We bombed this guy 36 times?
01:48:00.120 Yeah, just shooting nuclear weapons at the sky.
01:48:03.080 Hell yeah.
01:48:03.760 Who cares about wind and weather patterns, you know?
01:48:06.580 I like all that stuff.
01:48:08.300 Fireworks.
01:48:08.920 I don't like that they're banging up my firmament.
01:48:10.740 Okay, I just want to know.
01:48:12.260 After he looks into it, we've got to circle back around.
01:48:14.400 Yeah, stop derailing us, man.
01:48:15.840 Unbelievable.
01:48:16.700 I'm sorry.
01:48:17.300 Yeah.
01:48:17.780 All right.
01:48:18.140 Well, number three, I think that was the idea.
01:48:22.380 So, obviously, how are you keeping the traditions that were passed down?
01:48:25.860 in 2 Thessalonians 2, if you're now literally in your argumentation, you have all the majority of
01:48:33.000 the bishops, except for two, the Bishop of Rome, Victor, and the Bishop of Alexandria. Those were
01:48:37.300 the two arguing against Polycratus and Irenaeus and Polycarp and all the other bishops of Asia
01:48:42.840 at the time saying, no, we're not going to change the Passover. This is the one that we've been
01:48:47.840 doing since the gospel, right? But then they're like, oh, 180 years later, we finally got it
01:48:54.020 changed and we don't have to look like the jews anymore now here's what i want to say is that 0.96
01:48:58.820 you're standing on the traditions yeah and but you're not following it doesn't make any sense
01:49:02.840 but they're not they're lying they're not standing on the traditions right i'm more orthodox than the
01:49:07.040 orthodox because i'm actually trying to practice what christ did you know i mean so look but here's
01:49:11.800 the bigger issue is that they're saying um that they're saying like oh we don't want to be anything
01:49:18.180 like the jews and this is what constantine says in some of his writings too that they but the jews
01:49:23.280 were a part of the persecution of christians in the first 300 years they were like you know they
01:49:27.480 had to deal with the romans okay and i'm not getting on here uh juice box bashing but at the
01:49:33.160 same time there is a there was persecution against christians by both romans and jewish communities
01:49:39.440 and this was a bad situation and therefore you know i don't i don't agree with any type of
01:49:46.120 hatred towards jews we should be trying to evangelize them right as the apostles did 0.93
01:49:49.840 amen brother but over 300 years they got they got kind of calloused i understand yeah they got kind 0.98
01:49:56.240 of fed up you know i'm saying and they were like look we don't want anything to do with the jews 0.97
01:50:00.420 even if that means we're no going to keep sabbaths we're no longer going to keep these festivals
01:50:04.400 throughout the year because we look too much like no i get it a lot of the sentiment now is very
01:50:10.160 much the same but it's moving in a in a crazier direction it's not just like changing the days 0.93
01:50:15.220 but a lot of people will be like i don't like the jews and their behavior so much right now that 0.86
01:50:19.080 well, Jesus was Jewish. So I'm not even going to look at him. So, but I get it. It's like, 0.94
01:50:24.100 it's a fatigue and it's, it's done on purpose. Right. So that's why Easter changed. And then
01:50:28.940 the Sabbath, the weekly Sabbath changed guys. This is three 63 at the council of Laodicea.
01:50:34.240 Okay. The Synod of Laodicea in Phrygia, three 63 to three 64. This was their, their 29th decision
01:50:40.820 of that council that Christians must not Judaize. This is where the term Judaize comes from
01:50:45.620 because they associate it with you trying to do one of the Sabbaths
01:50:48.860 or one of the practices of the Jewish communities. 0.89
01:50:51.800 So meanwhile, they're still teaching all the other commandments
01:50:54.800 from the Old Testament, by the way, guys.
01:50:56.600 What, they made them work?
01:50:58.200 Yeah, but must work.
01:50:59.040 Yes, they're saying you cannot Judaize by resting on the Sabbath, 0.53
01:51:02.940 must work on that day. 0.93
01:51:04.380 Rather, you cannot work on the Lord's Day,
01:51:06.460 the first day of the week, Sunday, you must honor the Lord's Day. 0.69
01:51:09.540 And if they can, resting then as Christians. 0.94
01:51:11.740 But if you need to be, shall found Judaizing, 0.99
01:51:13.300 let them be anathema from Christ. 0.83
01:51:14.580 canon 37 adds to this and says it's not lawful to receive portions sent from the feasts of jews
01:51:20.940 or heretics nor to feast together with them so therefore now christians are banned from
01:51:25.860 passover first fruits shavuot tabernacles day of atonement all that kind of stuff
01:51:30.740 who's right the the roman government this is the councils of laodicea right um authorized by the
01:51:38.500 roman government this would be under i can't remember the emperor at this time so i think
01:51:42.820 Oh, but the Jews really, I mean, I've heard it explained where the whole Bible is just Jerusalem versus Rome, you know, that like you could, you could look at it that way, you know, which Rome, Babylon, that they go hand in hand and that these are the two opposing forces.
01:51:57.760 here's where the uh here's where the the how do i say this um
01:52:03.600 jewish communities even still to this day i'm sorry that's my second i don't know why my phone
01:52:10.880 vibration is on even to this day jewish communities like messianic congregations 0.51
01:52:16.560 who are filled with mostly jews who've come to christ they believe that things like the dietary
01:52:22.200 laws the um the sabbaths both the weekly and the festivals throughout the year that they're
01:52:27.060 considered Jewish identity markers. Okay. And that that's their cultural identity marker and that
01:52:33.380 Christians can still serve the God of Israel, but they don't have to do those identity markers
01:52:36.280 because they're not bloodborne in the sentence of Abraham. This is just a carryover from the
01:52:40.120 Pharisees. You guys, in Matthew chapter three, remember when the Pharisees came out to see John
01:52:46.040 the Baptist? What does John the Baptist say? Who told you to avoid the coming wrath? And then he
01:52:50.020 says, do not suggest to say that you're just because of the seed of Abraham, but you should
01:52:54.660 show fruit, your work should be fruit unto repentance, right? Because that was their
01:52:59.140 claim. The same thing in John chapter eight with Jesus, the Pharisees would claim,
01:53:02.500 we are descendants of Abraham. Your body is always giving you signals.

01:54:23.420 And because of that, we're in like Flynn.
01:54:26.980 And it was just like this weird,
01:54:28.920 we're born into the race of salvation
01:54:31.040 because we're chosen.
01:54:32.280 Well, I'll be honest, dude.
01:54:33.600 The reason it is so distasteful to me
01:54:37.040 when I see the group doing it in the back 1.00
01:54:38.720 is because it's specifically Jewish,
01:54:40.480 is because it's culturally and ethnically Jewish. 0.59
01:54:45.100 They have taken that on and they embody that. 0.98
01:54:47.840 almost like yeah this is not for you and i go perfect i really don't want to go okay i'm okay
01:54:53.280 with it no they don't say it's not for you dude there is a you you don't read between the lines
01:54:57.740 it's very much the same thing that sean does dude it's it's like uh hebraic um i'm saying the reason
01:55:04.540 i don't observant they're very lovely all those people are very lovely people and you got a bad
01:55:09.620 rub with them and you're like oh lisa won't make eye contact with me and she's an incredibly sweet
01:55:13.240 lady dude it's not a bad rub with them i don't know she read a book that somebody left here
01:55:16.880 whatever there is a there is a weird thing where it is very much like this is for us you guys are
01:55:22.580 cool but they're not claiming to be jewish their their thing which i'm sure sean says the same
01:55:28.820 thing is that these are the feasts of god they're not the feast of the jews they're not the feast
01:55:31.940 of israel they are jewish first very much so look at the bumper stickers outside these people are
01:55:38.900 jewish first and then they are christian that's why i brought up that's why i brought up the
01:55:43.800 messiah specifically the messianic uh congregations what's the point of saying i'm a messianic jew
01:55:49.320 like oh no no you're a believer there's a history the history in the 20th century is that protestant
01:55:54.240 denominations created the messianic congregations because they wanted to appeal to jews and
01:55:59.560 evangelize jews so that's why over the last 80 years the messianic congregations does become a
01:56:06.180 place where jews who think about converting to faith in christ they gravitate to those those
01:56:10.400 church services first, as opposed to the Methodist or Baptist church down the street, because they
01:56:14.760 think, oh, well, over here, our cultural identity markers will be accepted, right? And that's where
01:56:20.660 you go into there, and it looks very Jewish, and in their cultural ways of modernity. Some of those
01:56:26.420 weren't from 2,000 years ago either. So that's why I was saying, like, Matthew chapter 10,
01:56:31.320 what does Jesus warn the disciples? He says, look, there'll come a time when they'll put you
01:56:35.140 out of the synagogues, and you'll have to stand before kings and governors, princes, but don't 0.66
01:56:38.400 worry. Spirit of my Father will give you what to say, right? So you're talking about the persecution
01:56:42.740 they would receive. One of them was you would be put out of the synagogues. And you see that later
01:56:46.600 in Exodus where in the book of Acts, excuse me, where they're still going to synagogues to
01:56:51.020 evangelize in Acts 14 through 18. But then later they are put out of the synagogues. And it was
01:56:56.440 like the end of the first century historically when they finally decided no more Christians can 1.00
01:57:01.380 come to our Sabbath fellowships because they keep stealing people to Christ. They keep stealing 1.00
01:57:06.940 people away from our teachings and you know putting them in because christ made sense by the
01:57:11.380 way theologically he made sense oh the the psalm 110 high priest that was promised by yahweh he
01:57:17.620 showed up he fulfilled all the prophecies about him and now he's serving at the right hand of the
01:57:21.640 father he went back to heaven to do the same job that psalm 110 said he was going to do he's doing
01:57:25.580 it we witnessed it he saw it he healed people like crazy you all heard about it and he's going to
01:57:30.460 fulfill what was prophesied of him in heaven after he fulfilled everything prophesied him on the earth 0.95
01:57:33.920 so it made perfect sense to a first century jew why they should abandon the teachings of the
01:57:38.620 pharisees and should believe in christ and the teachings of christ and the apostles because
01:57:43.140 they were actually teaching the truth of the scriptures fulfilled and not all this oral
01:57:48.000 interpretation and with that oral interpretation came this stark cultural divide they're of the
01:57:54.660 nations we're descendants of abraham they're second class they get the noahide laws we get
01:57:59.840 the fullness of the Torah. That was the Jews' argument. So then here comes Constantine, 0.99
01:58:05.040 brand new convert, has no clue what's going on theologically. And he's like, oh, so they think
01:58:11.300 those actions make them Jews? All right, then we won't do those actions because we won't be like
01:58:15.320 them. Not realizing those are the very actions of Christ and the apostles. Okay? So that's where I
01:58:21.720 think my analysis of history is why we still see all these Christians still doing all these 1.00
01:58:27.600 quote-unquote jewish sabbaths and holidays for 300 400 years until they legally had to ban it 0.93
01:58:33.280 okay and even and and so here's another and like you put back on screen i have another historical
01:58:37.480 quote here from um now this is this is what the laws said okay but here's what first century
01:58:43.980 christians were doing they're keeping pentecost that's exodus 23 leviticus 23 that's a it's called
01:58:49.300 an eternal ordinance the day of first fruits uh they are in the synagogue every sabbath trying
01:58:54.240 to evangelize because this is what acts 15 uh 21 said oh moses is read every sabbath this so
01:59:01.280 they'll get they're going to hear moses being read every sabbath so all these converts all
01:59:05.480 these synagogues throughout the mediterranean they were going to them every sabbath that was
01:59:08.580 where they went to hear about god's words um here is um after the days of unleavened like already
01:59:15.080 said they're they were observing unleavened bread um he's after ethicists he's trying to get back
01:59:19.600 of Jerusalem in Acts chapter 20, specifically for Pentecost, 1 Corinthians 5, 7, and 8, he tells us
01:59:26.080 this is a proactive command. Therefore, let us keep the feast. And he's speaking specifically
01:59:30.540 about Passover. Now, yes, he's analogizing Christ as our Passover lamb, but nowhere in there does
01:59:36.800 that mean that the actual practice is over. He's just saying that here's the significance of this
01:59:40.740 practice. We're told to do it in honor of Christ. So, and here's Clement of Rome, okay? So this is
01:59:47.120 after this is a um many people sorry to interrupt it's just interesting to see how like uh as we're
01:59:53.540 tracking here so you're saying that the passover went from abraham and his celebration of not
01:59:58.060 having to sacrifice his son to uh the exodus in remembrance and then passed on because of jesus
02:00:04.940 sacrifice this is like the evolution of okay the the meaning of the passover keeps changing
02:00:10.500 throughout the scriptures because god's like oh here's a really significant event attribute passover
02:00:14.800 to that right you even mentioned looking forward to sharing that feast in basically what is the
02:00:20.300 millennial reign right yeah yeah and it'll be associated with god drawing all the the nations
02:00:25.220 to christ um for self for their salvation for one and for to start the millennial reign um it'll be
02:00:32.440 attributed to that in the future later that'll be the final iteration yeah so we we're just still
02:00:36.860 going to be talking about in my opinion the millennial reign we're still going to be talking
02:00:39.720 about christ's sacrifice and what he did on the cross and how he is our passover lamb we're still
02:00:44.660 going to be teaching that story and that message, but it'll also be a reminder of, oh, here's how
02:00:49.360 God brought people that want to serve him out of bondage, which is the story of a Christian too,
02:00:54.900 right? Romans 6, we were slaves to sin. We were in bondage to sin, but now as we abide in the
02:01:00.360 teachings of Christ, we're slaves to righteousness. Romans 6, 20, we have an obligation to righteousness.
02:01:05.080 So like this, the story is still the same. It's just that the meanings were given and attributed
02:01:09.360 to different concepts. Did you guys know that the, you guys know where the day of atonement even
02:01:14.000 came from no because it doesn't tell you in the bible so it it only like not at least not in the
02:01:21.840 bible that um the orthodox decided upon but the ethiopians in their bible in the book of jubilees
02:01:27.660 it tells you exactly where the day of atonement came from it was from when joseph was sold into
02:01:32.780 slavery and jacob thought he was killed and so he spent an entire year mourning jacob and he decided
02:01:38.000 on the 10th of the seventh month we're gonna we're gonna be remorseful of our sins and this will be
02:01:42.920 a day to be reminded that God forgives our sins, and he enforced all of his sons, the very ones 0.67
02:01:48.800 that sold Joseph into slavery, and forced him to start keeping this, right? So that was his reaction 0.77
02:01:54.800 to that, and that's what Jubilees teaches, is where the Day of Atonement came from. But Exodus,
02:01:59.660 Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, they don't mention any of that stuff. There's stuff in
02:02:03.220 the eighth day, this day that I'm observing today, which is the last Sabbath of Tabernacles,
02:02:09.060 that's not explained in Exodus through Deuteronomy either. That's only explained in the
02:02:12.620 book of Jubilees. It was the day of addition. It was after Levi was given the priesthood and
02:02:16.700 Jacob had a vision from heaven about all the future of the events of the sons of Israel and
02:02:23.420 the kingdom come. And he was super excited about it. So he had added an extra day onto the festival
02:02:28.560 and that became codified. And that's where the eighth day of tabernacles even came from. That's
02:02:34.160 not explained either in Genesis through Deuteronomy. So there's all this stuff that when
02:02:41.200 when you do a deep dive into history, you start to realize, oh, wait a minute, there was no angel
02:02:46.400 from heaven that came down and said to all these men in robes, these are the scrolls that you
02:02:51.180 should put in a binding and call the scriptures. Like it was men who had which scrolls at their
02:02:57.600 availability and which ones that they understood and agreed with. That's the hard reality a lot
02:03:03.960 of Christians don't like to talk about. They like to think that, oh, we've got this book here that
02:03:08.660 right our book in modernity is 66 but it used to be 80 by the way a lot of christians don't realize
02:03:14.980 that in america the bible used to have 80 they used to have the deuterocanon in there well that
02:03:18.740 deuterocanon is from the catholics by the way which they carried over from the council of
02:03:22.800 trent all the way back to the council of carthage from 338 so like that which is an orthodox decision
02:03:28.640 in 338 right that's where they put this collection together but meanwhile the armenians had different
02:03:33.860 books in their collection and the and the ethiopians had different books in their collection
02:03:36.920 And they're considered just as much Christian as the Orthodox. 0.90

02:04:25.640 I'm editing audio. If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good
02:04:31.280 news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker

02:04:52.500 at Spreaker.com. Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour,
02:04:57.560 you might as well publish it so whenever they tell you oh we gave you the bible no you didn't
02:05:05.040 you gave us your version and there's other people that call themselves orthodox that have a different
02:05:09.940 version and ultimately like if you do a deep dive on what were the criteria when they thought about
02:05:16.080 which books to include you realize like the the basic premise of the criteria was like
02:05:21.120 are do we consider these words the word of god because it was given through a prophet
02:05:24.800 or through jesus or through the apostles or is it a work of the holy spirit that is obviously
02:05:30.180 reflecting a high moral character and value you know that's why some would include like uh the
02:05:35.180 shepherd of hermas and some didn't so does sorry so the 66 that we have is that do the orthos have
02:05:42.020 that or uh okay yeah yeah so they have like the catholic bible no no no to this day they have 72
02:05:49.340 to 73 depends on which orthodox whether it's the russians or the or the greeks or the uh the
02:05:54.100 the Catholics have,
02:05:54.940 um,
02:05:55.960 80.
02:05:57.120 Okay.
02:05:58.860 Yeah.
02:05:59.380 And the,
02:05:59.740 the Ethiopians have 91.
02:06:02.860 Including,
02:06:03.420 you know,
02:06:03.940 in the 15th century Armenians,
02:06:05.860 they had like 70,
02:06:07.760 70 plus.
02:06:08.900 And,
02:06:09.500 uh,
02:06:09.620 and they had some books in there,
02:06:11.320 like the Testament to a patriarchs that,
02:06:12.900 um,
02:06:13.640 you see in the Dead Sea Scrolls that no other Christian church ever even put
02:06:17.820 in, 0.80
02:06:18.100 but they put them in,
02:06:18.820 in the 15th century or the 14th century.
02:06:21.500 Are any of those books contradictory to,
02:06:23.500 to what we have yeah i've been studying them for years now i i haven't found anything
02:06:28.680 contradictory in them they just continue to reinforce the same things you know the same
02:06:32.080 prophecies about the second coming the same concepts of atonement forgiveness and discipleship
02:06:36.500 and they have the same history of the patriarchs like you find in genesis you know jubilees is
02:06:41.980 called the lesser genesis not because it's it's also called the little genesis not because there's
02:06:46.740 less information in it but because it has more little details that's why it was called the
02:06:51.200 little genesis sort of the minutiae yeah and it gives you a lot of details that genesis doesn't
02:06:55.860 give you which i think are very helpful but um but yeah it's just here's the difference though
02:07:00.760 first for at the end of the first century there was a group of rabbis trying to respond to the
02:07:05.840 christians having incredible results evangelizing for christ okay so the jews were mad they were big 0.95
02:07:11.840 mad and they were like okay they're that's why we got to get them out of the synagogues we're 0.98
02:07:16.120 going to start tending them over to the romans and making false accusations about them and we're 0.97
02:07:20.560 going to close our canon we're going to close our books that we call holy divine inspired words
02:07:25.380 back then they didn't call it uh scripture they just call it sacred writings so they said we're
02:07:30.680 going to close our sacred writings and then leave out some books that we don't want people reading
02:07:34.960 well some of the books they left out when they did that under the guidance of a guy named rabbi
02:07:39.940 he's considered the great reformer of the early second century in judaism he left out enoch and
02:07:46.320 jubilees and the testament to patriarchs and they argued about leaving out job they argued about
02:07:52.540 leaving out song uh song of solomon and they argued about a few other books uh daniel um but
02:07:58.780 ultimately they live out they called them that they didn't even call them pseudepigraphal or
02:08:02.580 false or anathema they just said they're we'll just call these the left out books
02:08:06.240 they still called them sacred writings so like christians are using the book of jubilees in the
02:08:13.680 fourth century for apologetics epiphanius epiphanius of uh selamas is using it to argue
02:08:20.480 against uh gnostics about the early history of genesis um or what we would call the early history
02:08:26.060 found in genesis and jubilees he's using jubilees you know what the the arguments would have been
02:08:30.440 there against the gnostics like what were the gnostics is it the gnostics that we understand
02:08:33.760 today where it's like ultimately this demiurge narrative if so then what is being argued from
02:08:41.920 the point you said it was uh jubilees well if you had if you have jubilees going to extrapolate on
02:08:46.280 genesis that like that can probably argue that's what i'm wondering like that seems fascinating
02:08:50.600 also applicable to today yeah some of the arguments they're deeper arguments and you have to read in
02:08:56.620 their refutations because we don't have a lot of the gnostic writings that were burned by the church
02:09:00.440 but you can see the refutations against their arguments in against terraces by irenaeus or
02:09:05.840 Panarion by Epiphanius. And those writings are them addressing a lot of those bad arguments.
02:09:11.700 And that's how we've cobbled together Gnostic arguments to today. And the Demiurge is a part
02:09:17.580 of it. So the Demiurge was the idea that there is no materiality in the heaven above, and that
02:09:22.820 the Demiurge was an agent that the ultimate source used to create the material world we see today,
02:09:28.420 and that he did it with flawed, broken wisdom. That's why we have sin and corruption in this
02:09:32.960 world today and that this whole world is full of corruption but yet genesis says that god made the
02:09:38.020 heavens and the earth and it was good so right there right off the bat you're a strong refutation
02:09:45.360 to their what they call cosmogony which is the how things came to be not the description of things
02:09:51.440 came to be that's called cosmology but cosmogony is how they came to be and the gnostics claim that
02:09:57.080 and this is also just ancient greek platonism by the way they claim that there is no materiality
02:10:02.560 in heavens, but that it's just the source and the source, which is all pure light, wisdom and
02:10:07.940 knowledge, uh, created the physical world that we see today. Ancient Greek Platonism says that
02:10:13.880 things were created lesser than above, but they weren't inherently flawed. But Gnosticism, which
02:10:19.240 took root in a lot of Christian communities, claimed that everything on the earth was made
02:10:23.140 flawed. And so that's why they said Jesus couldn't be born as an actual human because then he would
02:10:28.300 be flawed. And so they wouldn't believe he was sinless. They would believe he was born inherently
02:10:34.360 sinful. And so this is also Augustine, fourth century, a huge church philosopher in the fourth
02:10:41.120 century that many people today still lean upon. It's called Augustinian anthropology. This is
02:10:46.040 where you get original sin idea is they believe you're born broken. But meanwhile, Ecclesiastes
02:10:53.080 chapter 7 i think it's verse 29 says that god made man upright but it's our deceptions that
02:10:59.860 make us evil okay so it's like you're raised in wickedness or you're raised in righteousness
02:11:04.880 that's how we're told to train our children up in god's words and righteousness this gets into
02:11:09.340 the idea of infant baptism as well right um right so sean we're we're running up on time here do we
02:11:14.900 have time to cover one more and like that like that'd be like a good halfway point and we could
02:11:19.480 you pick it up okay this one's controversial okay well more controversial than the last yeah
02:11:26.560 all right all right let's let's go okay so uh we'll skip down here this is just more
02:11:34.020 early second third century uh christians talking about how they all keep the commandments
02:11:39.420 this guy is a 18th century german professor who translated the apostolic constitutions dated back
02:11:46.540 to 250 and how that Christians were keeping both the Sabbath and the Lord's day together at the
02:11:51.280 same time. So they're working five days and taking two days off. Um, but if we want to go to number
02:11:55.940 four, is that how we got our modern five day week? Could be interesting. Oh, okay. Yeah. This, I see
02:12:05.280 what you're saying. Here we go. Trinity doctrine. It's going to get wild. Well, this is interesting.
02:12:09.940 I know the argument, it's not the episode. This is, uh, this is going to come down to, um,
02:12:14.740 how they do their, what do they call that?
02:12:17.020 Their effigies or their
02:12:18.940 paintings? Oh, their icons?
02:12:21.080 Their icons, right. No, this doesn't
02:12:23.120 come down to icons. I've heard this as a
02:12:24.940 justification. They're like, well, we can draw
02:12:27.120 Jesus. Yeah, you can't
02:12:29.040 make graven images of God, but you can
02:12:31.200 because this is Jesus when he's in his human
02:12:32.940 form and he was not divine
02:12:35.180 in that instance. Or something like that, yeah.
02:12:37.720 Oh, that's the one where Owen goes,
02:12:39.220 this wouldn't happen to be about your paintings.
02:12:41.020 all right so just remember what i said earlier these guys back in this day
02:12:48.360 they had no qualms about making their dogmatic interpretations into a belief that you that they
02:12:57.540 would add to the scriptures okay they had no we've already i've already been giving you the history
02:13:03.320 that they're changing other things that were considered the exact behavior of god that's
02:13:07.380 called everlasting in the scriptures that we, that are part of our discipleship that Christians
02:13:11.400 before them kept. But then here we go with this argument that starts arising from the second
02:13:16.800 century of it's a, in my opinion, it's a response to the Gnostics. Okay. What did I just say about
02:13:23.300 the Gnostics? They claim that anything that comes down from heaven into our realm must be broken
02:13:27.680 and corrupted. So therefore God could not have sent his son down here in the actual flesh,
02:13:32.640 lest he be broken and corrupted they argued about this philosophically not scripturally they argued
02:13:38.460 about this philosophically up until 451 the council of chalcedon when they derived the idea of the
02:13:43.860 hypostatic union doesn't it seem like an easy way to dispel and i'm i'm an idiot so i don't know but
02:13:49.820 it's like you go god can do whatever he wants well yeah that's why philosophy is man-made stuff 0.81
02:13:56.820 it's first corinthians chapter three it's the wisdom of this world is colossians 2 8 it's vain
02:14:00.580 philosophy that entraps you right yeah i mean the idea that came from demons by the way that's what
02:14:05.500 literally socrates one of the greatest philosophers in ancient greece claims he got most of his ideas
02:14:09.920 from his personal demon i believe that yeah he called his daemon right which is yeah whatever
02:14:14.200 shadow work shadow integration but like this idea that it couldn't possibly be god in the flesh
02:14:21.840 because to be in the flesh would be corrupt it's like okay god created the universe so here's do
02:14:27.540 whatever he wants we should probably go big screen for for the next few minutes just just so we can
02:14:32.360 big screen out the iron out and i'm going to take this down and i want you to put up the god
02:14:37.180 definition because this immediately matters to this conversation okay so if you if you will okay
02:14:43.340 so here's how the word god is used in scripture so this is the hebrew uh definition of god which
02:14:50.000 is the same in the greek the word in the greek is theon or theos but to the to the hebrews it was
02:14:55.420 Elohim or Elohe depends on how it's used. And it just means it means God.

02:16:16.860 going to talk to yourself for an hour you might as well publish it okay which by definition and
02:16:23.040 here's the lexicon definitions at the bottom here it could be a divine one a divine being
02:16:27.480 someone who's really great meaning exceedingly god little g god gods goddesses godly god great
02:16:33.240 judges mighty rulers are a shrine okay so that's why in scripture we see this word used for five
02:16:39.760 different categories which is for the father the son angels both good and bad demons are also called
02:16:46.240 idols of the nations and then judges of men okay you guys remember uh in john chapter 10 jesus said
02:16:54.260 are they not gods to whom the word of the lord came referencing the leaders of israel
02:16:58.760 all right so an elohim in scripture does not automatically mean a greek metaphysic
02:17:05.880 definition of homoousius okay what does that mean got that top no all right so homoousius 0.61
02:17:14.780 this is the this is the core of the nicene breed and what they argued about for 40 days
02:17:21.180 until constantine said all right we're done you're going to use the word homoousius to describe the 0.75
02:17:27.980 relationship between the father and son and we're all going home i'm paraphrasing but constantine
02:17:33.400 overset many days of this council for 40 days and concluded the council by saying we should use the
02:17:39.280 word homoousius to describe this and all the councils both the nicene bros and the arian bros
02:17:46.200 were like don't like that word we shouldn't use this we shouldn't use it because the history of
02:17:53.260 that word was from alexandria was from the gnostic communities in alexandria and they actually
02:17:58.440 already condemned this word at the council of antioch in 261 which is like 60 years previous
02:18:03.800 they already condemned the word homoousius because the sabelianists the oneness were using that word
02:18:09.260 to describe the same essence between the father and the son in their oneness theology. And
02:18:15.340 the bishops were like, no, no, no, no, we're going to condemn, we're going to condemn the
02:18:20.340 use of the word homosius and the Sabellinists, the Antioch. And that was already decreed. And
02:18:26.380 here we go, 60 years later, now they're under Roman control because the Roman empire adopted
02:18:31.220 Christianity, which means now the emperor has a contribution he can make to the theological
02:18:38.200 discussions because in, in ancient Rome, the emperor was considered. Now I'm not saying
02:18:43.120 Constantine was, but other ancient Roman emperors were high priests. They were called
02:18:48.620 sacerdotal priests of the Roman empire, which means they could talk about doctrine and many
02:18:54.760 of them were worshiped as gods. Okay. So this is where, um, just, just 40 years earlier and just
02:19:01.700 275. You had an emperor, a Roman emperor named Agabalus, or what was his name? Something Agabalus.
02:19:10.860 And he was the high priest of the Syrian sun god, and he became Roman emperor for four years at 14
02:19:17.780 years of age. And he tried to make Agabalus, the Syrian sun god, which was the name he took himself
02:19:24.080 after, he tried to make that Syrian sun god replace Jupiter, which is Zeus, to the Romans,
02:19:28.900 and they, and that's what got him killed. Okay. Because he was just young and dumb. All right.
02:19:35.400 You don't do that. But, but the point is they thought, Oh, we got Zeus sun God, Jupiter sun
02:19:40.780 God. We'll just, we'll just change him to the Syrian name sun God, Elagabalus. And that'll be
02:19:45.520 fine. And the Roman Senate went crazy and killed him. And then, but he was a high priest. So for 1.00
02:19:51.620 four years, the emperor of Rome was a high priest to a God and ministered in a temple. You don't
02:19:57.400 hear that often in history, do you? So for here comes Constantine, right? Supposedly has a
02:20:03.340 conversion moment of some sort, highly controversial. And then he's now overseeing
02:20:08.480 the Council of Nicaea with all these Christian bishops, the people he was just persecuting a few
02:20:12.580 years earlier. And he's now overseeing this council. And he's like, hmm, I'm tired of this.
02:20:17.860 How about we use the word homoousius? And they're like, no, no, no, please no. Right? But they 1.00
02:20:23.880 didn't say anything because what are they going to say he's the emperor they just they just finally 0.99
02:20:28.380 are not being killed by him you know so they're like okay so we'll just go with homo osius and 0.93
02:20:32.760 then they have to start trying to defend homo osius for decades afterwards and this leads to 0.88
02:20:38.560 a whole bunch of wild theology that i would lovingly suggest is highly contradictory to
02:20:44.160 scripture okay so let's put this uh core trinitarian claim slide up there real quick
02:20:49.800 oh you're about to offend a lot of people there we go so the father son the holy spirit are
02:20:57.380 this is the core tram of the trinity right they're co-equal they're co-eternal and they're
02:21:01.760 co-substantial sometimes it'll say con-substantial depends on if you you get someone that nitpicks
02:21:07.420 co-equal co-eternal co-substantial right co-equal they the and and all of that is under the monic
02:21:13.840 or under the description that there are three persons and one being one being of god okay
02:21:18.900 as and that's how they get around the claim of polytheism because there's not three gods it's
02:21:24.700 one god who shares three being equally in these three ways that they're co-equal in power and in
02:21:31.700 ontology and they're co-equal in eternality they've never been created and that they're co-equal in
02:21:37.320 their substance and that's where the word homoousius comes in the co-consubstantial co-substantial the
02:21:42.300 the word substance, substantial, and that's what the word usia means in Greek. It means substance.
02:21:49.360 Okay? So this is the core idea of the Trinity Doctrine. Now, if you would, I'm going to put
02:21:55.820 that PDF back up real quick, and we can take this one down. So I put up here the creeds that 0.99
02:22:08.960 developed over time after this with Athanasius Creed, um, or excuse me, this is the Athanasius
02:22:14.380 Creed. The first we'll, we'll talk about the 381, the Constantinople Nicene Creed. So this is like
02:22:19.080 the augmented Nicene Creed about 60 years after Constantinople to where they finally thought we
02:22:24.780 should include the Holy Spirit with this one. By the way, it's kind of a funny, funny little
02:22:29.700 faux pas in history. They're like arguing for decades about the father and the son, and then
02:22:33.840 they completely forget the holy spirit and then by by the council of uh constantinople they were
02:22:39.440 like oh yeah let's add the holy spirit in there so then the idea though is that they called the son
02:22:46.560 who is true god of true god begotten not created of one essence with the father that's where they
02:22:53.320 get this idea of homoousius you cannot have the the doctrine of the trinity without the homoousius
02:22:59.560 i've been in lots of debates against extremely competent trinitarian theologians and they all
02:23:07.180 agree you cannot have the trinity doctrine with the homoosius it is the it is the crux of claiming
02:23:13.060 that there are three individual distinct persons who share one god being you guys remember that
02:23:18.320 movie um the zach snyder justice league you guys remember that from like 2017 yeah yeah do you
02:23:25.280 remember the mother boxes the little square cubes that were held to get the three square cubes held
02:23:30.940 together with the electricity and the lightning yeah the mother boxes that's probably the best
02:23:35.220 description of the trinity i could ever think of okay is that three individual things the three
02:23:42.280 individual squares that all look the same and they're connected they're individual and distinct
02:23:48.060 they're not like morphed into one right but they're they're connected with a an energy and
02:23:54.860 this is what the orthodox call it they call it the energy essence distinction all right so they say
02:24:00.180 the essence is unseen and immaterial you'll never see it you can't quantify it measure it or look at
02:24:06.160 it it's immaterial and it is the glue that holds the three persons together and what you see in
02:24:12.160 the world and in creation and the attributes of the father son and holy spirit are the energies
02:24:16.340 that the essence produces so the essence is god too so then there's four no well that's wait so
02:24:23.860 That's quite astute of you to say
02:24:25.740 that's a really, really good 1.00
02:24:27.540 anti-Trinitarian argument there, Matt.
02:24:29.360 But I'm not anti-Trinitarian. 0.64
02:24:32.660 Got you! 1.00
02:24:33.380 I don't know about all the extra stuff,
02:24:36.060 but I guess I'm curious what your take
02:24:37.880 is then, because if I'm reading the Bible, I'm like,
02:24:39.860 hey, there's Jesus, there's the Holy Spirit,
02:24:41.840 there's the Father.
02:24:43.320 So, yeah, we can go big screen.
02:24:45.760 My take is very simple, guys.
02:24:48.620 So here's where
02:24:49.580 I don't agree with Unitarians.
02:24:51.580 I don't agree that
02:24:53.380 um, many Unitarian, not all, but many Unitarians will say Jesus did not exist before he became a
02:24:58.200 man. I think the Bible is pretty clear about saying he did and that the father sent him down
02:25:03.060 from heaven. I hear that, that action of the son coming down from heaven to become a man
02:25:08.520 and do his earthly ministry. That action is where all this philosophy comes in.
02:25:13.160 That's where then men who are philosophers first and then became Christians started going,
02:25:18.580 oh you're saying jesus our high priest was formerly in heaven with the father as a spiritual
02:25:27.960 being oh well then well then we got a whole bunch of issues here we got all these entailments that
02:25:33.580 suddenly start coming up of if he comes to the earth well the earth is full of corruption
02:25:38.120 the earth is you know how could he be how could he maintain his divinity and come down here right
02:25:45.080 So that's why they argued about it for 200 years until they derived the
02:25:49.000 Chalcedon hypostatic union doctrine, by the way,
02:25:52.300 I'm not trying to say this to mock Trinitarians,
02:25:54.560 but philosophers in the fourth century or the fifth century,
02:25:58.700 they, they mocked Christians for the hypostatic union because they're like,
02:26:03.040 this is not philosophy. You guys are just making up stuff.
02:26:05.580 Like that's not even possible.
02:26:06.880 You can't have a hundred percent divine being and a hundred percent flesh at
02:26:10.680 the same time. That's, that's not a thing. We've never thought about that.
02:26:13.680 No one's ever thought about that. That's not a,

02:27:37.720 So now the homoosius was way before.
02:27:39.700 It was a word already used by the Gnostics.
02:27:41.440 That's all scholars can only trace that word back to the second century Gnostic communities
02:27:46.020 and their writings, all right?
02:27:47.500 Which just means in the Greek, it just means same essence, okay?
02:27:51.200 That's all it means.
02:27:52.800 But the argument was, if Jesus was the son of God, then he must be of the same essence
02:27:58.960 because anything that is produced from the father has to be of the same essence, or otherwise
02:28:05.040 it's a created being.
02:28:06.360 So this is the theological classifications.
02:28:10.240 They're thinking if it's God, it's uncreated.
02:28:13.580 If it's not God, then it's created.
02:28:15.820 But the Bible doesn't make those classifications.
02:28:19.780 The Bible in Psalm 33, 6 says that all things were made from the breath of the Almighty.
02:28:25.740 What's breath?
02:28:28.380 Spirit, are you going to say?
02:28:29.540 Pneuma.
02:28:30.760 What is it?
02:28:31.620 When it comes out of you, is it part of you?
02:28:35.360 I don't know.
02:28:36.360 i mean once it departs from you well see that's but that's that was the argument that they argued
02:28:42.860 about for so long which was like wait a minute if it comes from god this is what the area this
02:28:47.980 is what arius the arian that movement came about they were saying oh well if god created everything
02:28:53.960 as a separate substance a separate category then the sun must be of a separate category too
02:29:03.020 And I jokingly say that Council of Nicaea, which was Nicene bros versus Arian bros,
02:29:08.660 it's just two different variants of Trinitarianism that are arguing with each other. 0.87
02:29:12.360 And then the Nicene bros won out and then demonized the Arians 0.82
02:29:15.600 because they believe Jesus was of a different substance than the Father. 0.95
02:29:19.580 They still believe Jesus existed in heaven before the world began.
02:29:22.760 They just thought he was of a different theological substance than the Father.
02:29:25.820 Do you think this is a salvific issue?
02:29:27.500 Of course not. Of course not.
02:29:29.340 None of this is, but they made it so.
02:29:31.120 and they decreed it so with the following hundreds of years. They decreed that you must
02:29:35.480 agree with this philosophic explanation so that you can be considered an actual Catholic Christian.
02:29:42.540 And that's at the bottom of these creeds that I had on screen, is that they're saying that
02:29:46.280 that's why they say that Jesus was light from light and God of God, because they're appealing
02:29:51.720 to the same essence. And that the Arians were saying, well, he was not the same essence. He
02:29:58.400 was something different because he's created, he was begotten of the father. Okay. So that word
02:30:03.540 begotten, they argued about that. And I have a quote, we can, maybe we can pick this up at a
02:30:08.820 different time, but I have a quote that even Arius in against heresies. Okay. So this is
02:30:13.300 Irenaeus, excuse me. This is Irenaeus. This is the co-eternal, co-equal three persons, right?
02:30:21.180 This is the Athanasius Creed. Athanasius was a pit dog. Like he was a, he was a rabid pit bull 0.99
02:30:27.580 for the trinity okay so he was he was ready to anathletize anybody that disagreed with their
02:30:33.980 explanation of the trinity um and he was basically saying this is the catholic faith you must believe
02:30:38.900 it otherwise you get eternal horror fire so this was his athanasius creed some people today like
02:30:43.840 did you guys know that like william lane craig doesn't even agree with the athanasius creed
02:30:47.680 today i don't even know who that guy is okay all right well he's like he is like top dog
02:30:53.780 trinitarian debater for the last 25 years yeah he's like a most people know who wlc is but
02:31:01.340 the point is i'm not saying you guys are i'm just saying in the world of online christian
02:31:06.560 debates when it comes to like you know there's always a trinitarian debate happening every day
02:31:11.820 of the year and william lane craig is like the dude he's like one of the top guys that
02:31:16.020 that debates for the trinity and he doesn't even believe in the athnation creed because he doesn't
02:31:20.200 believe that the son could be eternally begotten so when you actually look at the what the words
02:31:24.280 mean right which is what i've been trying to break down for you guys the word begotten means made
02:31:28.560 uniquely made but according to the trinitary doctrine you cannot admit that christ was made
02:31:35.160 because their philosophic presuppositions would make you also say that if jesus was made then
02:31:40.920 he's not god he's not of the same essence but i think the scripture points to what when and when
02:31:46.820 that saying that he's saying this day have i begotten me when he when he was raised when he
02:31:51.940 was raised from the dead there's there's two times you could look at that you could potentially look
02:31:56.500 at it in the womb of mary but i think in acts when it quotes psalms and it's saying this day
02:32:01.420 have i begotten me it's uh i believe in acts they apply that to the the resurrection right
02:32:07.600 so if this part doesn't get cut out uh expect to get a phone call from some of your trinitarian
02:32:13.080 friends that's an incredible anti-trinitarian argument right there matt no we're not gonna
02:32:19.060 cut anything out that you're saying it wouldn't apply to that no i'm saying what you're saying
02:32:24.460 is accurate according to the scriptures but that's not what trinitarians teach and believe
02:32:27.920 they teach that the son was eternally begotten before creation and what that means is that
02:32:33.540 they call it eternal generation of the son in some documents okay and nobody can explain it
02:32:39.000 it's just language they added to try to make sure jesus was not of a different substance than the
02:32:44.480 father and that was not in the category of created and what do you what do you think exactly let's
02:32:50.960 get to that because i'm like so confused now it leads back to like the foundation of the church
02:32:55.940 where jesus says well who do you say i am and then peter makes that declaration it's like well
02:33:00.080 peter didn't have these arguments john's holding out dude he's like building up the system what
02:33:03.700 what did peter say what did peter say mark 8 28 and 29 let's read it he said you are the christ
02:33:10.560 the son of the living god right right he didn't say you're of the same essence with the father
02:33:15.780 and homoousias and hypostatically linked and yeah and all that extra language just gets so
02:33:20.420 complicated yeah i don't think he said you are the one sent by god the christ the messiah the
02:33:25.460 anointed one like that was the big deal like jesus in john chapter 8 the pharisees are like
02:33:29.960 how dare you claim to be a son of the father that means you claim to be equal with god no he
02:33:34.300 didn't he said over and over and over like john chapter was it 14 28 he says my father's greater
02:33:40.420 than i or he says and and um um he says in john i've got the verses here on the on the pdf he
02:33:48.060 says in john uh 12 49 my father teaches me what to say and how to say it john 7 16 my doctrine is
02:33:54.420 not my own it's my father's he says only come to do the will of my father like that's his whole
02:33:59.300 like summed up in this in one sentence he was the perfectly obedient son of father so what we were
02:34:04.100 just describing with all that language from those councils and creeds in the fourth century is
02:34:08.340 philosophy and the philosophy was really concerned about how can something come down from heaven
02:34:14.920 and interact in our realm and not have a problem ontologically these are all philosophical
02:34:21.560 presuppositions guys this is why it doesn't make sense this is why matt's firm his brow he's like
02:34:25.980 what does that even, that sounds crazy. No, he just doesn't. No, I'm very like, yeah,
02:34:30.600 the philosophy is what messed me up. I'm like, let's just stick with what the scripture says.
02:34:34.180 Exactly, brother, because that's not what the scripture says. The scripture says that God made
02:34:37.820 everything from his breath and his spoken word. Like, breath is a real thing. But philosophy,
02:34:44.100 guess what? Philosophy, and this is what most Trinitarians teach, but the average person who
02:34:49.100 holds to the Trinitarian idea, they don't know the deeper nuances and details of the Trinitarian
02:34:55.120 doctrine but i've had entire debates with this did you guys know that trinitarians
02:34:58.900 as an official doctrine teach that the father is immaterial i don't even know what that would mean
02:35:05.000 that immaterial like that's a good you can't you can't see him you can't touch him there is no
02:35:11.140 actual there's no actual physical material of which he's made of oh no yeah but that's not
02:35:17.120 biblical either watch the debates i've had on it and you'll see the wild gymnastics that they go
02:35:22.880 through to try to claim it is. When I pull up all these verses, it says he has hands, a feet, hair,
02:35:27.840 a heart. He has a soul. He loves us with his soul. He has a robe. He has a face. He has eyes.
02:35:35.580 Jesus says in Matthew 5, 8, the pure in heart will see God. Well, they're already staring at
02:35:40.640 Jesus, so they're not talking about him. Jesus is talking about his father, right? The pure in
02:35:44.960 heart will see. When do you get to pure in heart? Oh, it's through the resurrection, right? That's
02:35:48.100 the promise of the covenant, right? The hope of our redemption, Romans chapter 8, it's the
02:35:51.480 resurrection that's when we can be with god and we can see him as he is wait is your take then
02:35:57.280 that uh like the millennial reign takes place jesus comes and rules and reigns on earth for
02:36:01.480 a thousand years and then ultimately that's when he's able to present it to the father and like
02:36:06.200 that's when that's when we would see him no the father is coming with at the start of millennial
02:36:11.760 reign the father is coming to the earth that's actually going to be in point six or seven i think
02:36:16.060 But, but, but when we're talking about the, the, before we get away from the idea of what was the foundation for the Trinity doctrine, it was guys arguing about philosophy and yeah, they added script, just like anybody can add a scripture to disappoint their point, but you just assume the definitions of the words from that scripture to, to affirm your point.
02:36:33.320 okay but so that the assumes the things that they assume is when they say that jesus was the son of
02:36:39.060 god immediately they're assuming philosophy that he must be of the same essence and if he's not
02:36:43.380 then he can't actually be from god and all we're saying is who cares right well this essence thing
02:36:50.500 it does matter since this this kind of does matter because like when you're just like when
02:36:55.520 you're addressing a prayer like for me i'm addressing and maybe this is wrong too but like
02:37:00.200 i never i never will address the holy spirit it's always like i am praying to god and then
02:37:05.560 in the name of your son right jesus told us right yeah to the father right so yeah but yeah i don't
02:37:13.360 but these creeds these creeds i had on screen here we didn't get to get to go through them but
02:37:17.520 they say that the thought that the son is almighty not the father we want sean's take
02:37:23.120 yeah what is your godhead so it's very simple wrap it here and and very simple let him say it
02:37:28.060 very simple okay that the father does have a is called spirit and john 4 24 right and some
02:37:35.500 translations will even say the spirit he's called the lord of spirits in the book of enoch he's he's
02:37:40.760 seen in multiple visions enoch daniel um you know some would even say moses on mount sinai um he's
02:37:47.480 seen in multiple places multiple visions to actually have a form it says in genesis chapter
02:37:52.100 1 verse 26 we remain his likeness and image two concepts image and likeness right not some people
02:37:57.700 say the word image just applies to authority, that Adam was given authority on the earth,
02:38:01.140 but it also says remain his likeness. Same thing in James 3, 9. Remain his likeness,
02:38:06.060 the likeness of man we were created after God's likeness. So he has a form, he has a physical
02:38:11.980 form. Now the presupposition of Trinitarians who appeal to Neoplatonic philosophy is that God can't
02:38:18.680 have an actual body because he's too powerful. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop

02:39:41.600 form so that's just a presupposition the bible doesn't say right but that's where they start
02:39:47.220 Okay. They say the body, there's no body of the father. He's immaterial. You can't see him. You'll
02:39:51.800 never see him. You'll only see Jesus. You'll never see the Holy spirit either. So effectively you
02:39:57.760 only will see Jesus representing all three persons, but you just have to believe there's
02:40:01.060 three persons there. See, this is the stuff they don't tell you when they say we believe in the
02:40:05.880 father, son, Holy spirit, we're Trinitarians. They don't tell you the hundreds of years of
02:40:09.120 philosophy that was argued and all the details. And then you start raising your hand and asking
02:40:12.700 questions going wait a minute uh how does uh how does why jesus said we'll see god i don't
02:40:19.200 understand first timothy uh chapter 1 verse 17 says there's only one god first first corinthians
02:40:26.880 8 6 says that only god's the father to us is only but one god the father and jesus christ is the only
02:40:33.160 lord you know why did jesus say i return to my god and your god to thomas right what's going on here
02:40:39.820 how does God have a God? Okay. And that's where there's a lot of issues and arguments that go
02:40:45.620 into this. But the point is, that's why I put the definition of our God on screen.
02:40:50.160 The Trinitarian doctrine doesn't appeal to the definition of our God. It makes up a new
02:40:53.640 definition based on philosophy. So the biblical definition of God is a ruler, someone in a place
02:41:01.100 of authority. And then you just have to look at the context to see what are we talking about?
02:41:04.440 Are we talking about the almighty God? The one Deuteronomy 10, 14 says is in the heavens of the
02:41:07.920 heavens, the most high. Or we're talking about his son who has given his authority by God, right?
02:41:16.060 It's like Acts chapter 5, 29, 30. He was made God and Lord. He was made prince and savior.
02:41:22.660 So he wasn't always had the same authority as the father. He's not the almighty. The father's
02:41:27.080 the almighty, right? I'm just asking if you guys, are we tracking? No, I'm tracking where my head
02:41:34.160 is going it's it goes back to that verse where it talks about um jesus christ being the the the
02:41:38.900 word made flesh and then you're talking about like the breath and the word that was used to
02:41:42.260 create the universe like like it's i don't know it's it's and then it's not even what's with god
02:41:47.460 and was god in the beginning right so like so what's god mean uh well it's got a bunch of 0.93
02:41:53.700 definitions you had on the screen earlier right none of them were homo seous
02:41:58.760 so anything above the heavens generically is considered a divine being or a god but it doesn't
02:42:08.740 mean they're the most high that's why he has the actual descriptor the most high he's a he's he's
02:42:13.800 above all the others right he's the lord of spirits an angel is called a ministry and spirit that
02:42:18.480 comes out from heaven so you what you're establishing here is a hierarchy yeah yeah
02:42:23.860 Yeah, that's what the Bible establishes. 0.93
02:42:26.160 I guess it makes me anti-Trinitarian too
02:42:27.960 because that's always been nice to me.
02:42:29.500 A hierarchy within God, within the Father,
02:42:32.120 within Jesus, and within the Holy Spirit,
02:42:33.820 but they're all God, but there's a hierarchy within that?
02:42:36.900 Well, I mean, there seems to be a delineation, right?
02:42:38.900 Like I pray the same way that Top prays.
02:42:41.200 Like I pray to the Father in the name of,
02:42:43.960 incorrectly, sorry, in the name of Jesus Christ.
02:42:47.360 And then if there's a mention of Holy Spirit,
02:42:50.640 I pray that Holy Spirit is sent for aid.
02:42:53.120 on me yeah yeah yeah um but yeah i mean there's there's but i never prayed to the holy spirit
02:42:58.680 which i'm like am i slighting this guy okay but we still gotta figure out what sean is saying
02:43:02.600 like we're still like yeah i think i'm picking up what he's saying what i'm saying is look when
02:43:08.240 jesus was sent to the earth to become incarnate through born through the woman mary he didn't
02:43:12.720 maintain some philosophic essence and and connection to the father in a greek metaphysical
02:43:19.440 away like he became a human he became a man right so like in the philippian letter i think it is
02:43:26.260 where it's more or less says that like he stripped himself like he's no longer emptied himself he's
02:43:31.720 no longer what did he empty himself of i mean there's a lot of things you could look at right
02:43:36.120 like his ability to be everywhere at once i forget what that yeah omnipresence like uh i don't know
02:43:41.200 all of all of the things where does it say that the sun was omnipresent okay so tell me what you're
02:43:47.520 saying then because you're just you're just throwing out god right that was just well from
02:43:52.960 a great philosophic standpoint that believes in omnipresence and omniscience and like all those
02:43:58.480 things and all those qualities all those attributes that they force into the definition of the word
02:44:02.360 god so that's i was just saying he was a with the father in a different form a different spiritual
02:44:09.940 form right angels are called they're but like first corinthians 15 describes two types of
02:44:14.320 bodies right there's a spiritual body and then there's an earthy body
02:44:18.900 okay so at the resurrection we're promised to get a spiritual body
02:44:23.320 a resurrected body right yeah but it's called spiritual right that's why it says in first 45
02:44:29.900 the last atom became a life-giving spirit so okay because i'm looking at philippians
02:44:37.620 And it says, so if you go from like two, five, let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who from who being in the form of God.
02:44:50.240 So that's interesting, like in the in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation and took on the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men.
02:45:04.100 No, do you want to read that in a good Greek translation?
02:45:09.080 You're reading out of the KJV, aren't you?
02:45:11.260 KJV, what should I go to?
02:45:12.460 Wait, but this is very mysterious.
02:45:14.020 Can we just get the Sean?
02:45:15.580 I'm trying to, but he's bringing up this point that it's very important, okay?
02:45:21.220 Philippians 2, 7, where they say,
02:45:23.180 he thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
02:45:25.060 That's not the Greek translation.
02:45:26.580 That is another hard reality of this conversation
02:45:29.980 is realizing that there are trinitarian bias in many translations that you have today okay i've
02:45:35.180 i've had a trinitarian who speaks greek translate that very passage and say that's not how it should
02:45:39.880 be worded go to something like the berean standard version uh go to the one where it says who thought
02:45:45.280 it who thought it what does it say um who thought uh equality with god was not something to be
02:45:51.680 grasped uh i got a bunch of different abbreviated maybe the nasb nasb 95 we'll try that one
02:46:02.320 uh right so then in this one it reads um have his attitude in yourselves which is also in christ
02:46:10.780 jesus who although he existed in the form of god did not regard equality with god a thing to be
02:46:20.100 grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bond servant and being made in the likeness of
02:46:26.940 men. So that's 2.5 to 2.7. So the Trinitarian creeds and the doctrine as a whole claims that
02:46:32.520 Jesus is equal with God and was equal with God. Philippians 2.7 says he did not consider equality
02:46:39.800 with God a thing to be grasped. Right. He didn't need to grasp it because he already had it, I 1.00
02:46:45.140 think would be that take. But even if it's not, so then your take is just that it's not equal with
02:46:49.740 god as with god the thought so why would he consider like oh so so the whole the overarching
02:46:54.440 context philippians 2 5 through 8 anyway is that you should be humble like christ and be a servant
02:46:58.320 to god that's the bigger issue there anyway sure but as it's describing the process of coming down
02:47:02.780 from heaven it says that he was in the form of god what does the word god mean once again
02:47:06.700 this is a number of things yeah this is well that none of it means he was equal in essence to the
02:47:13.640 father none of the definitions god but he's not equal with god so are you saying he existed in
02:47:20.400 the form of elohim of a divine ruler who was brought forth from the father just like the
02:47:26.220 angels in all creation was but he's not the same essence of the father because with the same
02:47:31.120 essence includes all the other entailments that he's also the almighty that he is he's also the
02:47:36.920 creator. So therefore he's not God. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you

02:49:00.420 What about the Holy Spirit?
02:49:02.020 How are you using the word God?
02:49:03.940 You keep using the word God.
02:49:05.800 I'm trying to be gentle with this, guys, but what we're having, what the cognizance we're
02:49:10.480 feeling is that you've been taught your whole life that the word God means one thing, that
02:49:14.200 it means Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
02:49:16.500 You may not have known about the essence and the deeper philosophical description, but
02:49:20.240 that's what you've been taught, is that God equals three beings wrapped up in that one
02:49:23.540 descriptor.
02:49:24.000 so in this particular instance the greek is theos um and this is uh specifically they only
02:49:32.020 give you a translation for i believe of god and it says root word etymology the uncertain affinity
02:49:39.120 a deity especially the supreme divinity it's a masculine now okay so let me see real quick
02:49:45.200 outline biblical usage strong's definition uh theos of uncertain affinity a deity a deity
02:49:52.040 right so not not specific the deity not um the supreme deity but then it goes on to say especially
02:49:59.380 the supreme divinity figuratively a magistrate by hebraism uh very exceeding god godly yeah i mean
02:50:11.300 that didn't make any clarity we might don't get frustrated with this we might not be smart enough
02:50:18.840 no no you are that's the problem guys you are just just like jesus said you know let the children
02:50:25.520 come unto me we're supposed to come to the father like a child philosophy complicates things that's
02:50:32.320 why i mean there's the well-known joke about the philosophers at the no yeah they take a simple
02:50:37.040 thing they make it convoluted they argue 15 different ways to sunday about a simple concept
02:50:41.000 what is a tree really you know right what is the essence of a tree how does its leaves blow i
02:50:46.360 disagree that the wind blows the trees. I think the tree moves on its own. Like they argued about
02:50:51.160 just read any book of Aristotle. It's just the dude was clearly not dating. Intellectual
02:50:59.460 was clearly had way too much time on his hands. I don't know who was paying what inheritance he
02:51:05.180 was living off of, but he should have taken up skateboarding or something like he, like he had
02:51:09.720 way to just thinking deep thoughts about deep thoughts. Okay. But the father says very clearly
02:51:15.080 that he created all things
02:51:16.820 by the breath of his mouth,
02:51:18.860 that he's the creator,
02:51:20.400 that he's the almighty,
02:51:21.540 and that he has a son
02:51:22.700 and he sent his son to the earth
02:51:24.060 to become a man.
02:51:27.520 Got it.
02:51:28.320 Is that simple?
02:51:29.200 So Jesus and the Holy Spirit
02:51:31.000 are a God,
02:51:32.260 but not equal to the Father.
02:51:34.220 Where does the Bible describe
02:51:36.340 the Holy Spirit as a person
02:51:38.140 with a body
02:51:38.920 who does anything
02:51:40.720 as a person with a body?
02:51:43.080 So because of that,
02:51:44.420 then he is God, just like Jesus is God, but not on the level as God the Father.
02:51:51.060 So the Bible describes the Spirit of God to be the Spirit of Yahweh, the Almighty.
02:51:56.760 Okay, got it. So not even like a third, like a separation at all. It's just the breath of God
02:52:03.260 the Father. Well, the word Spirit is defined by definitional strictness to be breath or wind
02:52:10.740 or spirit. Ruach, is it ruach? The Hebrew word is ruach, right? The pneuma is the Greek word,
02:52:17.380 okay? But then we see different applications of the word spirit. You can see the word spirit
02:52:21.140 applied to the Almighty, the Father. You can see the word spirit in 1 Corinthians 15, 45 applied
02:52:25.800 to the resurrected Christ. You see the word spirit applied to ghosts and unclean spirits
02:52:30.260 in the Gospels, okay? You remember when Jesus was walking on water and the disciples saw him
02:52:34.700 from the distance and they were afraid, thinking he was a spirit, right? So they didn't think he
02:52:39.220 was an angel they were afraid he was a ghost in the same way whenever he appeared in the locked
02:52:43.300 room in john 20 and they were startled thinking it was a spirit he's like no look spirits don't
02:52:47.260 have flesh and bone like i have touched me right so again the philosophy claims that the spiritual
02:52:52.460 world doesn't have any type of flesh but yet first corinthians 15 argues implicitly that the glorified
02:52:58.600 resurrection we're going to receive will have spiritual flesh like you'll have a spiritual
02:53:03.340 body even says in verse 38 of first corinthians 15 someone will ask what type of body will we be
02:53:08.740 raised in. And then he spends the next 15 verses explaining to you, we'll be given a spiritual
02:53:12.740 body. Angels have bodies, but they have, but it's physical material bodies. Angels can touch,
02:53:20.160 they can eat, they can kill, they can, they can kill people. They can break Peter out of prison. 0.99
02:53:25.460 Like they can do stuff in the, in the material world. They just have a higher capability.
02:53:29.700 And Jesus exemplified that same type of new body after his resurrection.
02:53:35.000 I think what people get all messed up about is like when you're saying this, like I'm tracking with what you're saying, but it feels like the issue would be if people got to the point where they go like, you're diminishing Jesus's role or something like this isn't saying.
02:53:51.180 What is his role?
02:53:52.640 Salvation is through him.
02:53:54.260 How so? How does Hebrews tell us that happens? 0.99
02:53:57.600 It's the acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, so that you shall not perish, but have everlasting life with the Father.
02:54:07.280 Well, that's a good John 3.16 recap.
02:54:11.400 So Hebrews 2.17 says that he was made like his brethren in every way, so that he might become a faithful high priest in service to God in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.
02:54:21.020 Right, he's advocating on behalf of us, essentially.
02:54:23.820 So he's our high priest.
02:54:24.980 That was what was prophesied of him in Psalm 110.
02:54:27.240 Psalm 110 is actually repeated multiple times in the book of Hebrews to draw out that fact.
02:54:31.820 He was prophesied to become a high priest in the order of Melchizedek, and that's how he attained salvation for us.
02:54:37.820 That's how he makes atonement for our sins, and then he's going to be given authority by the Father to raise us to eternal life on the day of judgment.
02:54:44.260 Right, so you're not taking a different stance on the role that he plays in our salvation.
02:54:48.680 It completely is integral to our not perishing.
02:54:51.920 what you've been what you're what you don't respectfully i'm not saying that you're
02:54:56.220 you're doing this um maliciously but what you may not realize you're appealing to is what's
02:55:01.360 called penal substitutionary atonement doctrine you guys ever heard that term before no i have
02:55:06.060 i don't know what it means yeah it was made popular uh by calvin and martin luther out of
02:55:12.940 reform reformation all right and it was uh it was a tweaking it was an augmentation of what was
02:55:18.980 considered the, uh, you know, stolen valid or doctrine or the, uh, honor, honor atonement
02:55:24.660 theory or satisfaction, sometimes called satisfaction theory, right.
02:55:28.140 Which was, um, this idea that you basically, uh, because of your sins, you deserve death.
02:55:36.140 And then Jesus, who was sinless step in your place and now has received the punishment
02:55:41.360 that you should have received for your sins there, thereby making atonement for you with
02:55:46.740 his death.
02:55:47.240 that's called penal penal substitute penal punishment it's a legal term right so you're
02:55:54.020 penalized okay so the idea and this is what they argued was like a courtroom scenario it was like
02:55:59.180 oh you're you're standing before god the judge and then jesus is saying oh i'm going to step in
02:56:02.960 his place and i'll take his punishment but that is not what scripture teaches scripture teaches
02:56:08.740 that jesus was destined to become a high priest to intercede and mediate to god on your behalf
02:56:13.820 your atonement first and then your resurrection second and that's how you have eternal life and
02:56:19.380 shall not perish because the judgment that you should get is the lake of fire
02:56:23.220 jesus didn't go the lake of fire on your behalf
02:56:26.900 like i'm not i'm not saying anything wild here i'm just revealing what's kind of been overlooked
02:56:34.120 because of these doctrines that have been so popular so this look it's really good preaching
02:56:38.100 for Jonathan Edwards and all these 18th, 19th century guys to stand up and shout defiantly
02:56:44.420 that, oh, Jesus died in your place. You were saved from the hellfire because of Jesus. Yes,
02:56:50.180 you were. Yes, you were. But how does that happen? The Bible tells you the exact how that happens
02:56:55.320 is through his priesthood as he mediates atonement for you and resurrection to you on behalf to the
02:57:00.180 father, not because he literally got the punishment that you deserve. There's no punishment in God's
02:57:05.260 law for breaking his law to go to the cross so what is the cross then what is the um the cross 0.93
02:57:12.260 is him being martyred as a righteous man this act 7 53 you you righteous you kill the mart you
02:57:17.060 martyr the righteous one but it's his intercession in heaven now is what you're saying is what makes
02:57:21.920 us right it's not it's not the action of him dying on the cross that's a continual him dying for us
02:57:27.220 he like you're saying these are two these are separate events if jesus if if the death on the
02:57:32.500 cross was all that was required he wouldn't need to be resurrected or go to be our high priest
02:57:36.160 forever well you're saying what makes up let me just ask this question so you're saying what
02:57:41.220 makes us right is jesus interceding in heaven on our behalf now yeah that's that's why it says he
02:57:47.660 makes atonement for your sins now and then on the day of the lord he'll he'll call your name out
02:57:52.100 revelation 3 5 calls your name out before the father and the angels and gives you a robe of
02:57:55.660 white you raise you from the grave this is why we say in the name of jesus this is our intercessory
02:58:00.440 yeah yeah you're in his authority that's why you're in his name he's your high priest that 0.68
02:58:04.620 makes sense like i said it's it's like as soon as you start to push against the trinity it feels
02:58:09.180 like a minimization of christ and i think that's probably why people have like an emotional response
02:58:13.120 but um but that's not what i'm getting from you i'm i'm getting uh you're getting kingdom in
02:58:19.280 context as you're saying and i'm like this is why he named it what you've heard your whole life is
02:58:25.960 um god had to die for your sins that's what you've heard your whole life and they assume
02:58:31.340 a definition of the word god and and they they make him they say there's no sacrifice worthy
02:58:37.460 other than god dying for your sins you probably heard that before right i mean i've heard that
02:58:41.040 all my life and they'll say it's a part of penal substitutionary atonement is the idea that when
02:58:47.200 god that there is no atonement except for god actually dying for you but yet the trinity doctrine
02:58:51.480 teaches that god didn't die it was just the fleshly part of christ that died his god essence
02:58:56.940 didn't die it's contradictory in so many levels guys you just no one ever asked these questions
02:59:02.480 because you get shut down and excommunicated from your church from the moment you start trying to
02:59:05.880 ask these questions i can see why i mean a lot of a lot of it does rely on um that those kind
02:59:11.460 of preaching points what you're saying is that this is a continual process that so doing yes oh
02:59:18.480 yeah he's he's high priest forever as hebrews 6 and 7 goes on to explain hebrews chapter 5 verse 9
02:59:23.800 and 10 after he was made perfect he became the source of eternal salvation to all who believe
02:59:29.280 in him being made high priest in the order of melchizedek that's what hebrews 5 9 and 10 says
02:59:34.980 so that's where um the priesthood of christ around guess what guess what age the priesthood of christ
02:59:42.840 stopped being preached in the early church the third fourth century right around the time they
02:59:48.620 said you know what to be to be high priest means he's not equal to the father he has to be the
02:59:54.340 almighty too that's in the athanasian creed this is what we've already stated one must believe to
02:59:58.780 be a christian so then guess what the presbyters which is the word for first timothy 3 1 the
03:00:04.980 overseers the elders the deac not the deacons but the overseas elders or bishops that word becomes
03:00:10.480 the presbyter and the episcopate and the early church and that's the word they say all right
03:00:15.480 we're going to make ourselves priests and that's antithetical to scripture too you cannot be a
03:00:21.900 jesus couldn't even be a priest while he's on the earth that's what hebrews 8 4 says because that
03:00:26.140 office is already given to another it's the levites that's why he had to he's a priest
03:00:32.400 in heaven's temple hebrews 8 1 in the order melchizedek it's a different order this is
03:00:39.440 very complicated man yeah i mean it's a it's a it's a lot that you want it last question
03:00:44.380 well it's really actually just understanding the priesthood concept right like the levites
03:00:49.680 were just the priesthood for for the descendants of israel through the tribe of levi but in xs 18
03:00:55.200 the priest of midian jose moses's father-in-law he shows up what priesthood is he a part of 0.65
03:00:59.380 great question there's clearly something going on pre-law he's well it's the the malchizedek
03:01:05.000 is a word that just means righteous ruler. So a Melchizedek priesthood is someone that was usually
03:01:10.340 the head patriarch of the family or the king of that people, and he was also the priest to their
03:01:14.260 God. That's what Melchizedek means. He's a righteous ruler. He's supposed to be righteous.
03:01:19.320 He's supposed to be circumcised to God in his heart. But that's what Jesus is appointed because
03:01:24.580 he's not from the tribe of Levi. He's from the tribe of Judah. That's what Hebrews 7 is trying
03:01:28.360 to explain to you. So that's why he's appointed to this different priesthood. A priesthood just
03:01:32.960 means it's a group with specifications, right? The specifications for the Levitical priesthood
03:01:37.820 was your parents had to be Levites. But the Melchizedek priesthood, you just needed to be 0.99
03:01:43.000 righteous. You just needed to be someone that served God faithfully. And then Jesus obviously
03:01:46.740 fills that perfectly. So he's prophesied to be in this different priesthood back in the Old Testament.
03:01:53.520 He's prophesied to bear our sins back in Isaiah 53, verse 10 and 12, and make intercession for
03:01:59.780 the transgressions of the many. He's prophesied to be in this role, and he fulfills this role
03:02:03.920 once he's resurrected and taken back to heaven. And that's where he lives forever, and that's why
03:02:08.960 he goes to do his job as high priest. And in the future, he's going to come back and be the warrior
03:02:14.400 king and take out the race of the nations and Satan and the unclean spirits and establish peace
03:02:19.300 on the earth. But he'll still be high priest forever, because the high priest was the right
03:02:23.320 hand man to the Father. That's why he's at the right hand of the Father. Acts chapter 2, 31-33,
03:02:28.400 he's exalted to the right hand of the father
03:02:30.460 in this priestly role
03:02:32.420 and it's a super big honor
03:02:33.880 but when man came along in the 4th century
03:02:36.520 and said you know what
03:02:37.800 he is a high priest sure but we're not going to
03:02:40.540 talk about that anymore
03:02:41.200 we're just going to call him God and God Almighty
03:02:44.340 specifically
03:02:44.960 we're going to start
03:02:48.380 praying to him instead of what he taught us which is to pray
03:02:50.560 to the father. Last question we can pick this up
03:02:52.620 on another episode

03:04:15.280 but uh where does like like as we're as this episode has gone on there's been sprinklings of
03:04:20.620 things that are not in the bible and where does that lead an entire generation or
03:04:30.280 an entire generation of believers if if uh these things are not really salvific issues but they're
03:04:37.800 all kind of detours what what's the point of it it it leads to them arguing about does the holy
03:04:46.360 spirit flow from the father or from both the father and the son and splitting the entire body
03:04:51.160 of faith in half in the 10th century called the filioquatus the disagreement that's what what's
03:04:56.340 what created one of the underpinning theological disagreements that created the holy roman catholic
03:05:00.560 empire versus the orthodox empire and then it creates the partisan reformation as they continue
03:05:06.320 to enforce things are not biblical and the people start to rebel and that's what they
03:05:11.980 It creates divisions and factions.
03:05:15.580 It's a work of factions.
03:05:17.220 It's Galatians 5.19.
03:05:18.600 It's a work of the flesh.
03:05:20.060 It's a faction.
03:05:21.920 When people come in and they say, look, if you don't describe the son this way, even though we both believe he came down from heaven and is the son of God.
03:05:29.980 But if you don't describe him with the exact language we want you to use, you're out of the faith.
03:05:34.180 The Bible never says that.
03:05:36.140 You're now becoming a contentious man.
03:05:37.900 You're now falling into Titus 3.10.
03:05:39.500 You should be avoided.
03:05:40.160 but they had power so they couldn't be avoided the bishop so what happened when rome took over
03:05:45.280 is they actually stopped giving state money from rome to the priests of zeus and they gave them to
03:05:50.180 the christian bishops which which then allowed them to buy land and have power over regions
03:05:55.780 and they became very powerful people man i see i see exactly what you're saying i think and i'm
03:06:05.420 just going to air on the side of a lot of this stuff is some of it's sort of new some of these
03:06:10.560 are arguments that i've heard already but like i think it's fair to just be like yo dude i don't
03:06:14.740 know like when we come up against orthos they're like what do you say about the nicene creed and
03:06:19.460 they like hold it up and then like do you adhere to this and i'm like i don't even know what that 0.92
03:06:22.640 is i don't care what that is well it is an invention of men so that's why i you'll see me
03:06:29.680 if you go to my debates you'll see me look at my debates i always bring up the definition of god
03:06:33.920 and they have no clue what I'm talking about.
03:06:37.080 They're like, but the definition of God is God.
03:06:39.860 You're like, okay, let's actually define it, please.
03:06:41.800 Let's actually just take a minute and think about it.
03:06:43.560 Because they never thought about it.
03:06:44.800 They've given an assumed definition their whole life.
03:06:47.920 And so that's where if you look at Hebrews 1, verse 8 and 9,
03:06:52.700 God, your God, has anointed you with oil above your companions
03:06:56.860 with the joy of gladness.
03:06:58.920 Speaking about Christ, not only in his kingship,
03:07:00.920 but also his priesthood.
03:07:01.760 that both both king and priests are anointed in ancient israel okay so they're anointed with oil
03:07:07.380 so how does god have a god that's anointing him what's going on there well if you understand if
03:07:13.480 you choose the actual definition of god yes jesus christ is god he was made god by his father he's
03:07:20.000 made ruler over heaven and earth by his father he said all authority in heaven earth is given to him
03:07:23.920 by his father yes but he's not the essence god of greek philosophy that's the difference
03:07:30.800 like he is still ruler of heaven and earth and that authority was given to him by his father
03:07:35.780 that's why first corinthians 15 verse 27 has to explicitly say now when we say all things are put
03:07:41.420 under his feet it is excluded that the father is not under his feet right like it has to go out of
03:07:48.560 its way to let you know that the father is still the almighty even though all things are put under
03:07:52.180 the feet of christ the father is still the almighty so augustine in the fourth century he argued
03:07:57.000 against that very verse in his book on the Trinity book one, when he tried to say, Oh, well,
03:08:03.020 yeah, sure. That verse says that, but the son still secretly had all authority and all power
03:08:07.660 and all might like the father. It's just had it. He just had it secretly now. So like they don't,
03:08:12.540 so the point is, remember what I say earlier, these guys in the earth, in the third, fourth,
03:08:16.860 fifth century, they started the reason why you see these, this massive amount of new doctrines pop
03:08:21.580 up and being enforced as dogmas and things, they genuinely believed we have the Holy
03:08:27.460 Spirit, we're the church, and we can just make up new doctrine if we want.
03:08:33.100 It's the same problems that we're having today with what they're, yeah.
03:08:37.900 All right, Sean, we got to bring it in.
03:08:39.480 I got to run, but this is, man, what'd you guys think of this, Matt?
03:08:43.040 It's a lot to think about.
03:08:43.920 It's a lot to think about.
03:08:44.800 It rubs against a lot of the things that we're taught to believe.
03:08:51.580 Matt, what are your thoughts on it?
03:08:53.500 Just complete confusion.
03:08:57.180 You know, just trying to get down if Jesus is God or not.
03:08:59.940 We got to define God.
03:09:01.080 I got, so it's a lot.
03:09:02.680 I mean, it's a fair thing to have to define if you're going to decide whether or not, you know, then to define.
03:09:07.140 Listen, Sean, we'll just clip out the last 45 nods.
03:09:10.240 No, no, no.
03:09:11.820 I think Sean, that's a lot of research and a lot of stuff to bring forth like that.
03:09:16.580 So respect.
03:09:17.180 Yeah, we didn't even really get to the other interesting parts.
03:09:19.780 But I think that if we're going to say that God died for our sins, we definitely got to find God.
03:09:24.960 Yeah, that's a fair statement.
03:09:26.240 Because there's a ton of Bible verses that say Jesus was made high priest to God.
03:09:32.900 So a priest can never be equal to the God he serves.
03:09:36.980 That's antithetical to the word priest.
03:09:38.780 I mean, that would be nonsense to anyone in the ancient world.
03:09:41.600 The priest is never equal to the God he serves.
03:09:43.920 A priest means you're a servant to that God.
03:09:46.780 I would like you to have a—
03:09:47.860 I think there's a bit of an argument that within the Godhead,
03:09:50.340 which I know this is—we're shutting this off in the next minute.
03:09:53.760 Yeah, because my wife is calling me.
03:09:55.000 But I'm just saying that I think there's a discussion to be had
03:09:57.340 that in the Godhead there is, you know,
03:09:59.620 Jesus can be a servant of the Father,
03:10:01.740 and that doesn't make him less than the Father,
03:10:03.500 and the Holy Spirit can be a servant to Jesus.
03:10:05.280 The Holy Spirit's going to come.
03:10:06.180 He's only going to speak of Jesus.
03:10:08.060 But that doesn't make them less than.
03:10:09.680 There's an argument for that, which is clearly not Sean's take,
03:10:12.960 which is fine.
03:10:13.840 I'm just saying that's another take on it.
03:10:15.320 Hey, Matt, do you believe that Jesus eternally existed with the Father as an indistinct person
03:10:20.940 in eternity? Yeah, it seems as though the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit have always existed,
03:10:26.740 right? Especially if God is love, like I don't know where this love could be going if there's
03:10:31.480 not, if there's just one, right? But those three, so I think I'm not Trinitarian in the sense of
03:10:37.660 all the big words and stuff, but just in the sense that like the Holy Spirit's God, Jesus is God,
03:10:42.460 and God the Father is God.
03:10:44.540 What do you make of Jesus saying that
03:10:45.960 the Father had to give him the ability
03:10:48.740 to have life within himself in John chapter 5?
03:10:53.940 I don't know.
03:10:55.120 I don't know about that.
03:10:56.280 We're saying that in the eternal realm,
03:10:58.340 so you're saying the Father created Jesus
03:11:00.400 in the eternal realm.
03:11:02.740 Well, that's the part of the conversation
03:11:06.140 that the Bible doesn't speak on.
03:11:07.440 The Bible doesn't speak about,
03:11:09.820 we have Jesus' words in John 17
03:11:11.980 saying he existed with the father before the world began but it doesn't say if he was came like how he
03:11:17.400 was brought forth from the father or whatever that's what they've argued about forever about
03:11:20.880 the eternal generation but why would the son say he doesn't have life in himself but he depends on
03:11:26.260 the father to give him the ability to have life within himself and that i don't know which he's
03:11:31.680 going to give us speaking about giving us a resurrection to eternal life in john chapter
03:11:36.160 five and then he's then going to be able to give us resurrection to eternal life because the father
03:11:40.520 has given them that ability.
03:11:42.120 So essentially what that's called is a saiety
03:11:44.220 and he doesn't have a saiety.
03:11:45.780 He's admitting he doesn't have a saiety.
03:11:48.120 What verse is it in John 5?
03:11:50.020 It's John 5.
03:11:52.980 And let me go to it real quick. 1.00
03:11:55.980 This is a piece of Jews. 1.00
03:11:57.140 A multitude for an angel went down, 1.00
03:11:59.540 troubled the water.
03:12:01.240 He'll deliver this.
03:12:02.360 All right, after this though,
03:12:04.060 we got to end it because 0.99
03:12:04.860 my wife's not going to let me podcast anymore. 0.74
03:12:07.700 my father sent me to work and i do the work therefore the jews sought to kill him because 0.75
03:12:13.480 not only had he broken the sabbath but said that he was uh that god was his father making himself
03:12:19.120 equal with god and answered jesus one second it looks like i've this is good podcasting and he
03:12:26.980 will show him greater works than these that you may marvel for as a father raise up the dead and
03:12:30.600 quicken them even so the son quickens okay for as the father is it 21 for as the father raises up
03:12:36.420 the dead and quickens them even so the son quickens whom he will this is going to be a
03:12:42.260 translation thing no i anticipate barely is saying to you he that hears my word believes on him that
03:12:50.300 sent me that's a big thing because he's sent by the father has everlasting life i just i'm not
03:12:57.380 familiar with the passage where he gives him five john 5 26 for as the father has life in himself
03:13:02.780 so also he granted the son to have life in himself so the father granted you can't be equal
03:13:11.520 so the point about the essence is that with it entails all this equality of power and attributes
03:13:17.960 and one of them which is you're eternal and you you exist eternally on your own merits and power
03:13:24.700 which is called a saity right and this is where jesus is saying he doesn't have that he was
03:13:30.140 granted the ability to live forever by his father and then he's going to be able to give us that
03:13:34.020 ability he's been granted the authority to give us that eternal life too so this is verily i say
03:13:38.820 in you the hour is coming and now is when the dead shall hear the voice of the son of god
03:13:42.900 and they that hear shall live for as the father has life in himself so has he given to the son
03:13:48.180 to have life in himself right you're just it's you wouldn't apply that to his role on the earth
03:13:53.160 in that day that that's what he was there to do he died point was that he was to be the high priest
03:13:58.200 to give life to them the father granted him that role that is that is what is said of him as high
03:14:05.200 priest that's how he raises us to eternal life and covers our sins and gives us resurrection
03:14:09.140 okay as if it's a position as high priest yeah okay makes sense we're wrapping it up all right
03:14:15.480 thank you sean we have to go we'll run it back again at some point but uh tell the people again
03:14:23.440 where they can find you and then let's wrap this up before i get in trouble yeah all of your hate
03:14:27.520 comments be directed at kingdom and concept yeah it's all good um they're actually we have actually
03:14:35.460 had a lot of people hear what we're saying over the years and realize okay wait a minute maybe i
03:14:39.600 should slow down and define some terms and um that's why this concept is growing on the on the
03:14:45.560 the internet the idea of people studying the scriptures and challenging the traditions of old
03:14:51.780 not that we abandon our faith but that we magnify christ and we magnify the father as a result of
03:14:57.900 knowing his word better and that's why we try to find things in context and keep context in
03:15:02.480 in what we're claiming so yeah give me context appreciate you guys have me on
03:15:06.340 anytime man thank you sean and guys uh until next time don't forget to obey submit and comply we'll
03:15:13.080 see 0.93
