00:00:59.260 Sermon on the Mount, episode 28. We're in Matthew 6, 24-34.
00:01:29.260 and the body more than raiment?
00:01:31.360 Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not,
00:01:33.640 neither do they reap nor gather into barns.
00:01:36.020 Yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
00:01:38.460 Are you not much better than they?
00:01:40.260 Which of you, by taking thought,
00:01:41.580 can add one cubit unto his stature?
00:01:43.540 And why take you thought for raiment?
00:01:45.060 Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow.
00:01:47.160 They toil not, neither do they spin.
00:01:49.220 And yet I say unto you that even Solomon
00:01:51.040 in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
00:01:53.820 Wherefore, if God so clothed the grass of the field,
00:01:55.980 which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven,
00:01:58.440 shall he not much more clothe you oh you of little faith therefore take no thought saying
00:02:03.980 what shall we eat or what shall we drink or wherewithal shall we be clothed for after all
00:02:08.340 these things do the gentiles seek for your heavenly father knows that you have need of all these
00:02:12.700 things but seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all these things shall be
00:02:17.100 added unto you take therefore no thought for tomorrow for tomorrow shall take thought for
00:02:21.540 the things of itself sufficient under the day is the evil thereof all right now last week we
00:02:27.080 unpacked the whole, uh, behold the fowls of the air. And we really talked about how, uh, birds
00:02:32.640 stay busy. Right. And then we went to the Proverbs, uh, six passage. It says, uh, go to the ant,
00:02:38.080 right? Like observe the birds, observe the ants, like you're grinding, you're working. This is not
00:02:42.760 saying, um, take no thought. It's saying, take no anxiety. We unpacked that last week, right?
00:02:48.280 You got to understand that it's not saying like, don't do anything, just chill on your porch and
00:02:52.160 wait for God to do everything. It's just saying, don't be anxious about it because God is the
00:02:56.240 provider, right? So let's look at Matthew 6, 5 through 8, because it's just saying the same
00:03:01.640 thing. And we unpacked this a couple of weeks ago or a couple of months ago, maybe now. This is just
00:03:06.520 a couple of verses back. Matthew 6, 5 through 8 says this. It says, when you pray, you shall not
00:03:12.520 be as the hypocrites are, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of
00:03:16.480 the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But when 0.85
00:03:21.220 you pray, enter into your closet. And when you shut the door, pray to your father, which is
00:03:26.100 in secret and your father which sees in secret shall reward the openly but when you pray use
00:03:30.800 not vain repetitions as the heathen do for they think that they shall be heard for their much
00:03:34.820 speaking be not therefore like unto them for your father knows what things you have need of before
00:03:41.200 you ask him so so this is the balance right do the work but know that your father is the provider
00:03:47.440 that's the balance right like this is the whole balance do the work look at the ant look at the
00:03:53.080 birds. Birds are always grinding. Ants are always grinding. But know that your father is the
00:03:57.860 provider, right? Like that's faith. Faith is not a bird sitting there with its beak up in the air,
00:04:02.980 like waiting for a worm to fall out of the sky. That's not faith. Faith without works is dead.
00:04:07.260 Faith is that bird is going and digging for worms, knowing he's going to find worms because his father
00:04:12.920 is the provider. That's how we live, right? Let's look at Colossians 3, 22 through 24.
00:04:23.080 this says something interesting this is just in regards to work right we left off last week 0.91
00:04:30.260 talking about where it says any man who uh doesn't provide for his family is worse than an infidel
00:04:35.240 we we left off uh talking about in the thessalonians passage where it says those who
00:04:39.700 don't work don't eat so let's get some context here uh for this as well colossians 3 22 through
00:04:46.620 24. Servants obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service
00:04:53.200 as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart. Okay. This is talking about how you work at
00:04:57.280 your job. Like anywhere where it says like servants and masters, just in the American
00:05:01.260 mindset, just think about employees and employers, right? Like that's what it's saying. It's talking
00:05:07.220 about how you deal with, if you're an employee, how you behave at your job. Servants obey in
00:05:13.640 all things your masters according to the flesh not with eye service as men pleasers you know the
00:05:18.100 people who like think they're going to do better at the job if they like like there's a thing in
00:05:23.140 the american business culture where you like put down the other employees like it's called throwing
00:05:29.860 people under the bus and it's this thought that like if i throw somebody else under the bus it'll
00:05:34.080 make me look better that's not a christian mindset in any way shape or form and like if when that
00:05:40.100 happens with us with like employees tell us something bad about somebody else i'm always
00:05:43.600 saying like this isn't making you look better this is making you look worse that you're telling me
00:05:47.880 this just grind and hustle do your work and it'll all show for itself one day right so it says uh
00:05:54.540 but in singleness of heart fearing god like that's our mindset when we work and whatsoever you do do
00:06:00.320 it heartily as to the lord and not unto men you know how many problems in the workplace would be
00:06:05.480 resolved if Christians did their work heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. That's why if I 0.75
00:06:11.920 work with like Christians and they're bad at their job, at any job I've ever been at, I'm like, 1.00
00:06:17.120 I'm in shock by it. Like this should never be a thing. It should never be a thing where a Christian 1.00
00:06:21.600 doesn't like crush in the workplace. They should be doing good at everything they do
00:06:26.540 because they're doing it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. Knowing that of the Lord,
00:06:31.840 you shall receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve the Lord Christ.
00:06:37.160 All right. So that's our mindset, right? It matters how we conduct business, right?
00:06:41.380 Like, uh, people try to separate like their real job from their ministry. You know what I'm saying?
00:06:47.200 It's like, there's none of that. There's just the Christian life seven days a week. Like, 0.98
00:06:51.140 like your job is your ministry. Like living in your house is your ministry. Going to Walmart
00:06:55.860 is your ministry. Like everything in your life is your ministry. And it matters how we conduct
00:07:00.480 business because watch this in psalms 24 3 through 5 dude watch watch how uh
00:07:08.160 watch how staggering this is
00:07:13.040 psalm 24 3 through 5 goes like this who shall ascend into the hill of the lord but who shall
00:07:19.840 stand in his holy place so who's like you know like elijah talks about standing in the presence
00:07:23.920 of god even gabriel shows up and announces his presence he says i'm gabriel i stand in the
00:07:27.840 presence of god is this also like when they're asking the question like in revelation like who's
00:07:31.920 going to open the scroll no that i mean that's very specific they're talking about jesus yeah
00:07:37.200 is that a reflection of this though i mean i don't know we're gonna see we're gonna see as
00:07:41.840 this unpacks right who shall ascend into the hill of the lord or who shall stand in his holy place
00:07:46.960 like who's this person who's close to god is really what it's saying because we because we
00:07:51.280 can do all the stuff arguing about what's cool in the different denominations and stuff but like
00:07:55.360 Who's, who's close with God? Like, like who stands in the holy place with God? Like who's
00:08:00.020 the one who ascends the hill, right? Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? Who's going to get
00:08:05.540 in the presence of God? Who shall stand in his holy place? A lot of people don't, aren't ready
00:08:10.280 for this next verse, dude. He that had clean hands and a pure heart. The clean hands is how we conduct
00:08:15.260 business, man. That's how, that's how we deal with our fellow man in our job as, as an employee,
00:08:21.040 as an employer our relation to customers our relation to vendors our relation to like
00:08:26.260 everything that we do he that has clean hands it's funny most people that have dirty hands
00:08:31.500 are actually doing the the meaningful work or the work that keeps them with clean hands
00:08:36.620 what do you mean i don't know have you washed your hands today
00:08:40.100 no they're washed are they dirty though yeah they're always a little dirty not too bad but
00:08:46.920 yeah that's what i mean like the you have clean hands but when you look at them they're dirty it's
00:08:51.480 like it's it's almost i see you contradiction of a metaphor well that's it there's an interesting
00:08:56.840 thought behind that dude if you work on a farm there's no there's no bs dude you work in a
00:09:01.640 workplace you can manipulate and you can kind of frame arguments certain ways and you can kind of
00:09:06.840 get people to look at things do it on the farm there's no bs dude if you don't plant if you
00:09:11.800 don't take care of the the plant there's no fruit like it's just there's no bsing anywhere it's not
00:09:18.760 you can get a lawyer or you can frame the argument a certain way or manipulate somebody and then this
00:09:23.480 year you'll get fruit it doesn't work like that but that's like in a sense that's clean hands
00:09:27.640 isn't it i like that i like that but clean hands is just like in our dealings with people clean
00:09:32.200 hands like one of the things i think about is like you know this show that um it's like the uh pawn
00:09:37.480 the pawn shop one where they're in vegas and like the guy comes in they get a guy to come in they
00:09:42.760 say oh yeah that coin's worth a million dollars and then the guy with the bald head goes i'll give
00:09:47.320 you 50 bucks you know and the guy goes how about 1.1 million and he goes i'll give you 100 bucks
00:09:51.880 and the guy goes okay how about a million even you know and he goes oh man you know i gotta sell
00:09:56.360 this thing i gotta make and they do this thing that's like the opposite of christian business
00:10:00.920 christian business is not like i want to scam you as much as possible so that i get the best
00:10:05.960 thing possible christian business is like i want both of us to do good on this and i want to see
00:10:10.680 you thrive from this deal i don't want to hear a story that like you conducted business with me
00:10:15.560 and it went bad for you i don't want that right he that has clean hands like like that's exactly
00:10:20.520 what this is talking about well it's just funny because you love you love indians and jews so much
00:10:28.760 that's what you're describing right now no that is an interesting thing about those two cultures
00:10:33.240 man yeah the way they bargain the way they negotiate that is that is an interesting
00:10:36.760 negotiation is never like so they do better it's like almost so that you do worse it's that's very 1.00
00:10:41.880 true in my dealings yeah especially with uh indian people which i love that doesn't change anything 1.00
00:10:46.920 for me but i've had some intriguing business endeavors with indian folks but um but it
00:10:51.400 doesn't matter like that like whatever culture you come from doesn't matter man like this is
00:10:55.800 the culture of the kingdom of god and that's how we live dude like we we want to do a deal with
00:11:00.840 somebody where they don't feel like oh man i got ripped off and we walk away just going yeah man
00:11:05.880 i got the best i got the better of that like no if you do business with me i want you to walk away
00:11:11.000 feeling good about it feeling blessed by it being able to look back on your life and say i was
00:11:14.920 blessed by that encounter like that's clean hands man and it i mean there's so many applications we
00:11:20.600 could do a full we do a full series on what it means to have clean hands right but but that
00:11:25.560 matters to god dude we're talking about who's going to get in the presence of god so like in
00:11:30.040 In other words, if you're doing slimy business deals, God's like, yeah, sorry, man.
00:11:34.540 What's the thing with the Drake where he goes like this?
00:11:36.540 God's like that to people.
00:11:37.960 They're, you know, they're like, oh, yeah, God, I'm going to pray and get your presence.
00:11:41.200 He's like, you're treating your fellow man slimy.
00:11:43.540 You're not coming near me, dude.

00:13:44.940 he that has clean hands and a pure heart, that pure heart is motive, right? It's motive. It's
00:13:51.100 not sneakiness. It's not hypocrisy. It's clean hands and a pure heart. Who's right with God,
00:13:56.160 man? Who's coming to God to be serious about this? Who's really genuinely seeking God?
00:14:02.080 Who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. So this guy doesn't want,
00:14:07.500 he doesn't have vanity. He doesn't engage in meaningless things, right? I think
00:14:12.620 there's a thing called vanity fair and we think that just means like expensive and bougie
00:14:17.060 and luxurious but vanity is just all the things that are meaningless man vain meaningless things
00:14:22.840 like the guy who's going to get in the presence of god the person who's going to get in the
00:14:26.320 presence of god doesn't lift up his soul to vanity to meaningless things he's focused on
00:14:30.880 the eternal the things that are going to matter and and he doesn't swear deceitfully right we
00:14:35.840 talk about like cursing and swearing in the bible compared to like what people call cursing and
00:14:39.540 swearing today is just cuss words like swearing deceitfully like deceiving people you know and 0.66
00:14:45.420 swearing saying like i swear to god and lying about like deceitfully like your whole conduct
00:14:50.820 that's the idea of a covenant swearing right like you're making a promise yeah that's very important
00:14:56.600 very important concept in the bible yeah right yeah he shall receive the blessing from the lord
00:15:02.000 and righteousness from the god of his salvation so the so the main thing i wanted to key in on
00:15:05.900 there was the clean hands part i don't think i like it without the headphones dude all right
00:15:11.840 we'll figure it out like i'm talking too fast that's good you good yeah yeah it's just a little
00:15:17.320 yeah that's all right actually i think whatever it was is no it's this one
00:15:20.520 but anyway we're good okay so now we're into one corinthians 15 58
00:15:25.860 let's see here 1 corinthians 15 58 me and the raven have been bringing this passage up
00:15:38.560 um because we're in that corinthian letter and it's kind of you kind of that whole letter almost
00:15:45.460 kind of surrounds kind of revolves around this it says this it says therefore my beloved brethren
00:15:50.700 Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
00:15:59.100 For me personally, man, like, I don't know how much of a distinction I draw between, like, my work in the workplace and, like, my work for the Lord.
00:16:11.140 I think that maybe we make a mistake where we separate those things very much.
00:16:16.600 we say, oh yeah, this is my work for the Lord. This is my ministry. You know, I do mission stuff.
00:16:21.320 We do outreach. We do the canned food drive, you know, whatever these things are that, you know,
00:16:25.740 modern people are doing, considering it like their work for the Lord. And they're like, but then
00:16:29.960 there's my job, you know, dude, my grandpa had this really weird thing. Uh, not weird, but this
00:16:35.140 very, um, intriguing thing printed in his Bible. You know, I, he didn't even ever see me get saved,
00:16:40.660 but I got it after he passed. And it said, something to the extent of my money is a trust
00:16:48.500 from God. It must be earned and managed according to his will. And I think some of my observing of
00:16:56.980 especially Bible studies I've been in with like wealthy Christians is maybe not so much of either
00:17:04.400 one of those things that it would be earned or managed according to his will. But as far as the
00:17:08.560 managing according to his will, you'll see rich people tithing, making sure to tithe. They're
00:17:14.300 making sure they spend their money, the 10% giving to something. But then the earning of it is another
00:17:20.680 story. It's almost like, what do they say? The ends justifies the means. You see some of that
00:17:26.660 in the church today. But it's like, I like what my grandpa wrote, dude. He said it must be earned
00:17:31.580 and managed according to the will of God. Yeah, that's at a previous church that I went to that
00:17:37.540 got kicked out of one of their biggest uh tithers was a dude who was kind of doing like shady stuff
00:17:44.020 shady stuff yeah and they kept him in and they like kept him like around like elders that kind
00:17:48.980 of thing because i guess he wanted the status of the church for whatever reason but everybody knew
00:17:54.980 and they didn't care because it was like well he's gonna keep it afloat i'm like that's not a good
00:18:01.060 good look. Yeah. Yeah. But I like this idea that like, um, that our labor is not in vain in the
00:18:07.080 Lord. It's not meaningless, man. Like what we do for eternity, we don't lose it. All right. So
00:18:12.740 we've really emphasized this whole concept of work, right? All everything we've just done so far
00:18:17.920 is like all about work and looking at the birds, right? And the work that the birds do and looking
00:18:22.000 at the ants and the work that the ants do. And I want to like pivot here the same way, uh, this
00:18:27.800 passage in Matthew six pivots, it pivots from the bird to the flowers, right? Gives you this one
00:18:32.660 little verse about like, uh, in that pivot saying like, you can't even worry, can't even add one
00:18:38.440 inch to your height. Right. And it kind of pivots through that into the flower. So it's, so it's
00:18:43.300 interesting. The lily of the field can't do anything, right? The bird can, the lily of the
00:18:47.600 field can't do anything. Like it can't do, it can't go find food. It's completely dependent
00:18:52.940 upon God. So there's a bit of a transition and there are these two things. And I want to
00:18:57.420 transition it with this thought from Ephesians 6 to kind of give this perspective. Ephesians 6,
00:19:04.180 10 through 13 says this, it says, finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power
00:19:10.200 of his might. Put on the whole armor of God. I like this, dude. This is like, this is like
00:19:17.920 working and warring at the same time. It's like Nehemiah. If you ever read the book of Nehemiah,
00:19:22.760 says they're building the wall and they had their trials in the one hand and the swords in the other
00:19:26.840 and it's very intriguing because jesus talks about it when he says count the cost he those
00:19:32.280 are the two things he brings up he says like nobody goes to war without like uh considering
00:19:36.920 how many uh soldiers he has and considering you know how strong the military is that he's going
00:19:42.600 up against right he says you count the cost before you go to war and he says nobody builds a building
00:19:47.320 without considering like the cost you know the goods and everything it's going to take to to
00:19:51.720 make it happen to build something so his context is building and warring too and you kind of see
00:19:56.840 that nehemiah they're building and warring and that's what this is here too in ephesians 6 right
00:20:03.000 so it goes uh finally my brethren be strong in the lord and in the power of his might put on the
00:20:07.320 whole armor of god that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil for we wrestle not
00:20:12.840 against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness
00:20:18.680 of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places wherefore take unto you the whole
00:20:23.800 armor of god that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and have and having done all
00:20:30.440 to stand now a weird thing is that uh there's a comma right here right verse 13 says wherefore
00:20:40.680 take unto you the whole armor of god that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and have
00:20:45.640 and having done all comma to stand now it's a weird thing when i you know i talk in text all
00:20:52.200 the time my talking text always throws commas in and i hate that right but it's doing that
00:20:58.680 because i'm pausing yeah so like a comma means pause right so you're doing the work you're doing
00:21:04.680 that you put on the whole armor of god you're grinding you're doing your work heartily as
00:21:07.880 unto the lord and not unto men and you know that your work is not in vain you have clean hands you
00:21:12.200 you have a pure heart wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to
00:21:16.740 withstand in the evil day and having done all pause stand do you see what I'm saying it's a
00:21:26.180 little different now it's a little different with that comma like after having done all that's all
00:21:32.220 you got man so there's two mistakes you can make you can not have done all right you could have
00:21:37.320 been slothful you could have been lazy in your relationship with God in your relationship with
00:21:42.100 other things in life with work, you didn't do all. And now you're trying to stand and you haven't
00:21:46.580 done all, right? There's that. And then there's like, you have done all, but you just keep going.
00:21:51.640 You're just trying to do more and you're not pausing and saying like, okay, I'm good. God's
00:21:56.320 got it from here. Cause that's the whole context of what, of what we're learning right here in
00:21:59.580 this passage, right? Do the work, but know that your father is the provider after having done all
00:22:05.740 stand and i think there's a lot of people that need that i really think that i talked to the 0.98
00:22:13.420 homie damian this morning uh he called and uh we were just talking a little bit and he's even just
00:22:17.820 talking about the way life is going and it's and it made me think of this this morning too man i'm
00:22:23.540 just like bro this is a long game because especially young people are like you know i feel like this
00:22:28.300 and that i have this problem or that problem i'm working on this and i want this to happen and that
00:22:32.360 it's like bro you're in the long game like just stay the course right like do all you can and be
00:22:37.480 patient man after having done all stand right and i think we have a um i think this is a good picture
00:22:45.080 right uh the transition from the bird to the flower like after having done all stand because
00:22:50.200 your heavenly father feeds right so we transition from the bird who's grinding to the flower who's
00:22:56.600 standing do you think that that could also be uh examples of of the church versus uh
00:23:04.760 i don't know people that are kind of i i i don't want to say uh missionaries but other people that
00:23:11.400 are just kind of doing stuff like the tent people that god calls is like now you do now you're moving
00:23:16.440 here you know whereas some people are the flower like they're rooted in the ground they they have
00:23:21.560 no choice but to stay there because this maybe that's what they've been called to do the bird is
00:23:27.880 he's moving around and he's he's doing things you think that this is what like possibly what
00:23:32.680 this means as well or at least kind of types i think there's layers to it yeah you could be you
00:23:37.720 i mean it could be you in a in different seasons some seasons you're more like the bird some
00:23:41.720 seasons you're more like the flower but i think in general that that pattern applies to us man
00:23:46.600 after having done all stand, like do the prep, be diligent. Don't be somebody who's not in the
00:23:52.160 scripture, not praying, not doing your due diligence, not leading your family in Bible
00:23:57.180 study, prayer, like do, do your due diligence, but just know that like, whatever this outcome
00:24:02.260 is that you're looking for, there's only so much you can do. And your father is the one who provides
00:24:06.820 and that's faith. Like that's faith is saying like, okay, God, this is with you. I'm trusting
00:24:13.080 you i'm doing what i can but in the end you're the provider not me right i think this is a really
00:24:18.620 good picture of it this is uh to sam 23 8 i like this dude this is david and his mighty men these
00:24:28.580 be the names of the mighty men whom david had the tacmanite that sat in the seat chief among the
00:24:33.480 captains the same was a dino the ez knight he lift up his spear against 800 whom he slew at
00:24:39.220 one time. So these dudes are all savages. These guys have all put in the work, right? He lifted 0.99
00:24:44.420 up his spear against 800 whom he slew at one time. So it was one verse 800 and he won. And after him 0.97
00:24:50.340 was Eleazar, the son of Dodo, the Ahoite. I'm going to do the best I can on these words. One
00:24:56.820 of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered
00:25:01.840 together to battle and the men of Israel were gone away. So sometimes that's a thing for all 0.92
00:25:07.560 of us, dude. Everybody else is gone. The men of Israel, the church of that day, they're gone.
00:25:13.840 He arose and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary. 0.98
00:25:18.760 In his hand, clave under the sword and the Lord wrought a great victory that day. And the people 0.86
00:25:23.480 returned after him only to spoil. That's like a great leader, man. They all left him for dead.
00:25:29.740 He ends up winning. Then they all come back for the spoil to collect the loot, right? But the Lord
00:25:34.900 wrought a great victory. Like that, that's always this picture, man. It's like, it looks like, oh
00:25:38.900 man, it's 800 verse one. It's like, no, no, it's 800 verse one and God. That's why we always say
00:25:44.580 like, if it's me and God, I've got the majority. It doesn't matter if it's 800 verse one, right?
00:25:49.920 I like this guy, Shammah. I think that's his name, Shammah. And after him was Shammah, the son of
00:25:55.640 Agi, the Herorite, and the Philistines were gathered together into a troop where was a piece
00:26:01.380 of ground full of lentils and the people fled from the philistines dude gets left for dead again dude
00:26:07.100 but he stood right after having done all stand everybody deserts him everybody leaves him but
00:26:15.960 he stood in the midst of the ground and defended it and slew the philistines and the lord wrought
00:26:23.100 a great victory this guy's like i'm not i'd rather die in my bean field man like this like this is 0.59
00:26:30.580 all i got like i'd rather die like this than die running so you guys want the bean field you're
00:26:37.360 gonna have to go through me like that's what he's saying he after having done all he's staying you
00:26:42.300 know what this reminds me of is like when uh everybody's around jesus he tells them they're
00:26:46.720 gonna have to eat his flesh and drink his blood and they all leave and then he and then he looks
00:26:50.200 at the disciples and said are you guys gonna leave too and peter goes where would we go yeah like
00:26:56.160 dude, we've, we've gone too far now. Like what I'm going to, I'm going to go back to the world
00:27:00.680 and try to act like a normal person now. Like I, I can't do that. Like, like where else would I,
00:27:06.500 where else would I go? Lord? Like I've gone too far. It's like this guy. He's like, where else
00:27:09.620 would I go? This is my bean field. I don't know. I think people need to start having that heart,
00:27:14.680 man. Like, this is my family. This is my home. This is, you know, whatever it may be. Like,
00:27:19.860 this is my town. You know what I'm saying? He's like, I'm not leaving. I'm standing here and
00:27:24.660 fight? Oh, all the people left me, I'm going to stand and fight for those people. Because if they
00:27:29.320 get through me, they're going to go kill those people next. I have like, I have a soft spot in 0.99
00:27:33.480 my heart for the those kind of people to like, with the COVID thing that happened, there's a lot
00:27:38.260 of my friends, some of them are involved in like politics in New York City now. And they're like,
00:27:42.920 yeah, I'm gonna stay in this is this is my place. And I'm gonna save and I don't know, for me,
00:27:48.380 I always looked at I was like, there's nothing here. There's nothing here. Anyway, I left and
00:27:53.300 abandon it but there's still part of me that was like do you stay and fight that fight is it was
00:27:58.940 it if i think it's not it's not worth it but there's something to just you know there's a
00:28:03.720 discussion to be had around it at the very least you need to know your sphere like it doesn't say
00:28:07.340 he protected that bean field and 100 other bean fields yeah you gotta protect your bean field this
00:28:12.100 is my bean field dude i'm not leaving that wasn't my bean field yeah no i can relate to that all
00:28:17.700 right so before we go away from the whole bird thing just keep just keep this in mind eating

00:29:22.020 You know, how this opens up is talking about serving God a mammon, right?
00:29:25.320 So which will you serve, right?
00:29:26.720 To serve mammon is to feed anxiety.
00:29:29.520 You know that's true.
00:29:31.260 You say whatever you want.
00:29:32.960 Like, as soon as you get in this American lifestyle trap of, like, the better house, the fancier car, the fancier boat, the cooler motorcycle, there's no end to that.
00:29:43.300 That never, ever ends, dude.
00:29:45.040 I know. And I remember thinking like, Oh, if I just get the house, I'll be good. Or like,
00:29:49.520 if I just get the car, I'll be good. But then you're good. Yeah. For a little bit. And then
00:29:53.100 there's always the next thing. And like, the more you move up, the more you, you end up moving up
00:29:58.180 around other people who are moved up and then they have more. And then you compare to that.
00:30:02.540 And then, so you go up again, but then now you're in another group of people that has more
00:30:05.900 and it just never ends. Dude, to serve mammon is to feed anxiety. I was just talking to my wife
00:30:11.480 about that with one of your favorite topics, the worship singer, Brandon Lake. He's probably the
00:30:16.860 biggest one, like the biggest dude in this industry, so-called abortion, I mean, worship
00:30:21.520 industry. And listen, from the outside looking in, this guy's probably a multimillionaire. If
00:30:27.560 you're selling out stadiums, right, you're doing great. And I looked on Twitter the other day,
00:30:32.580 and he's like, I got a new song out, and I clicked on it to listen. It's just a country song.
00:30:38.100 love my truck love this net love god too but love the country that kind of stuff and i'm just like
00:30:44.980 when is enough enough it's not it's never enough i'm saying if as soon as you serve mammon you're
00:30:51.920 just feeding anxiety that's all you're doing it's a it's a delusion to think that like i'm
00:30:57.140 going to serve mammon and i'm going to get satisfaction and peace from this because i'm
00:31:01.700 going to have things and stuff and material gain so much so that i'll be at peace but just imagine
00:31:07.580 like your profession is to worship god at the highest level with the best musicians and then
00:31:13.920 you're compensated like a king for it and it's still not enough what else do you want yeah it
00:31:22.220 can't it can never be enough dude it can never be enough and i can only imagine once you enter into
00:31:27.460 like this the so-called success of that and the dopamine rush of like fans or uh people like
00:31:33.940 liking you and everything that comes along with that if you don't catch it early dude it's just
00:31:39.200 going to keep going and you're going to keep needing the like a dope fiend right it's going
00:31:43.200 to you need a bigger and bigger dose each time you ever read the the story of the lorax from
00:31:48.140 dr seuss i think so were they living like the little world yeah no he's chopping down the
00:31:52.620 trees he's making the things and it's just like continue there's a part in it where he goes like
00:31:57.080 i'm going to keep biggering and biggering and biggering and biggering yeah and there's really
00:32:00.820 no point to biggering. It's just out of spite. He already had what he needed after he was
00:32:04.980 successful. And then you bigger to the point where it's like, now you're in a desolate wasteland.
00:32:09.340 And when I read it to my kids, I'm like, damn, that's, that's a deep lesson there, Dr. Seuss. 0.97
00:32:14.520 Yeah. He hits hard, dude. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, that's what it is, man. So which will you serve? 0.99
00:32:18.920 To serve mammon is to feed anxiety. To serve God is to know you're being watched over and cared for.
00:32:25.440 That's ultimately what we're saying is when we're not, when we're not serving mammon and we're just
00:32:29.920 wholehearted, committed to God. We're serving God and seeking God. We're saying you're the provider.
00:32:35.640 You're watching over me and caring for me. I'm good. That, that, that is the solution to the
00:32:40.880 anxiety. Like that's what we keep talking about is like, where's all this anxiety coming from
00:32:45.000 today? It's the higher the anxiety. Imagine the day they lived where their anxiety was over food
00:32:51.040 and water and shelter. They had less anxiety than people today that everything is all their needs
00:32:56.580 are met yeah but this is like the peak of anxiety on planet earth dude you know and it does have to
00:33:02.640 do with the phones and the scrolling and the and the seeing all these things and just imagining you
00:33:06.860 need more that's a bottomless pit dude so when you that's serving mammon even when you're like
00:33:11.140 doom scrolling and looking at all the things and wanting all the things it's serving mammon like
00:33:16.360 you're like you're desiring all these physical things and it's in direct contrast to god because
00:33:21.840 like when you have god you're like i don't need any of this stuff and i'm familiar with that
00:33:25.400 scenario like i don't need anything every like my farm i can fully function on my farm right now
00:33:29.820 if i walk through home depot i'll find 15 things i need yeah you know what i'm saying the minute
00:33:35.980 you walk like that our society is set up like that i'll walk through home depot like dude i
00:33:39.760 have to have that i don't catch myself like no no you don't dude i think that that's hell man
00:33:44.760 it is i was talking to my parents about hell yesterday and what it might actually be and you
00:33:51.640 they're like oh you'll be locked up in hell with all these other people that did bad and i'm like
00:33:56.440 i don't know if it's like general pop jail but hell is it's separation from god that's
00:34:03.480 the biggest thing and i think from the separation from god i think it's you realizing your potential
00:34:10.520 and that's what like when you're scrolling on a phone or just doing anything in today's society
00:34:15.640 like we can our tentacles can reach so far and i look at the potential that that i could have
00:34:21.960 and it's like it it gives me anxiety if i'm not achieving that yeah i think that's a human
00:34:27.400 condition so imagine being then but all those wizardry things that you're scrolling on are
00:34:32.200 designed to do that to you and they're my and they're minuscule in comparison to your eternal
00:34:38.280 soul and then the the closeness to god but i think hell is going to be something like like where
00:34:43.400 your where your desires just can't be satisfied you still have those cravings but you can never
00:34:48.440 they can't be satisfied all our desires and no matter what anybody says they're always to
00:34:53.080 be closer to god or or maybe to become god if you're if you have your your you know
00:34:59.400 your priorities that they're saying that's what people are doing and all of the doing
00:35:03.560 that's what everyone is always doing you're either getting closer to god or you're getting closer to
00:35:07.000 something that you think is god or or you're trying to become god yourself whatever that's that's a
00:35:11.400 crazy uh endeavor no no no that's very common the god of self like that's that's like the most
00:35:16.120 common false god in america is the god of self right where we start to like pick and choose in
00:35:20.840 the bible what we want but that's what everyone's chasing this is what every no matter what like
00:35:25.560 what it is we're me and you are chasing the relationship with god i think we have the correct
00:35:29.960 aim and that's like you know so that's the discussion of sin but yeah i i think it's all
00:35:35.880 about the relationship to god and when when you're in hell the finality of that it's a statement of
00:35:42.440 god is over there and you cannot you cannot get to him like in the in the parable where jesus is
00:35:47.240 talking about like that divide where the man's like well can i can i go here and like can you
00:35:51.480 tell my brother he's like no no there's a divide i can't even cross over here i'm sorry there's
00:35:54.840 finality there's finality here and there's potential that could have been realized and it
00:36:00.920 never will be i think that is hell the the realization of you being stuck there but imagine
00:36:05.560 like the consequence is so much heavier than just the things you can get from home depot you know
00:36:09.480 what i mean like that stuff feels like a little finality like that like that's the thing is and
00:36:14.360 there's nobody that's going to find themselves in hell and be like yeah that's right i never was 0.80
00:36:18.200 into christianity to begin with that whole thing was so stupid anyway i'm going everybody in that 0.98
00:36:22.840 moment is going to go no what have i done yeah well because you you will be in the you'll be in 0.98
00:36:28.040 your spiritual body you know you'll understand the concept of that and what you forsook when you
00:36:34.440 didn't have that spiritual right now people don't even have a people don't have a great concept of
00:36:39.240 it but i think when you're in it and then you realize oh there's no going back that's hell
00:36:43.720 that's right and it just gets worse every second that you're there it's like yeah i don't know
00:36:48.440 like fiery like fiery and brimstone i'm not so sure but i just think it's like you sitting alone
00:36:53.720 thinking about what could have been for indeterminate amount of time yeah for me that's
00:36:58.920 hell yeah yeah i don't know i don't know the details of hell and then i know ultimately it
00:37:04.320 gets thrown in the lake of fire but like i have this sneaking suspicion that there's nobody that
00:37:10.000 like we see them in that state we see them and we know they're not going to be with god for all
00:37:14.820 eternity they're in hell and then ultimately the lake of fire i don't think there's anybody that
00:37:18.940 we're going to be like yeah you got what you deserve i think our heart's going to be devastated
00:37:22.740 And that might be why he wipes all the tears, you know, in the book of revelation, it says
00:37:26.020 he has to wipe all the tears.
00:37:27.360 I think any human you look at, no matter how much you so-called hated them on the earth,
00:37:31.560 you're not going to look at one person and be like, yeah, that's what you get.
00:37:34.480 You're gonna be like, no, what could I have done to like, not for this to not happen to
00:37:38.940 them.
00:37:39.720 And it's like, we've got this very finite amount of time to do this on the earth, dude.
00:37:44.120 And it's people who are blinded by Satan.
00:37:46.120 Right.
00:37:46.480 So it's like, so we have to deal in a very crafty way with people.
00:37:49.440 Like you can't just boom, hit them with the truth. 1.00
00:37:51.620 Cause they're gonna be like, you're an idiot. 1.00
00:37:52.740 like i don't believe that i can prove you that science is true not the bible so we have to deal 1.00
00:37:56.980 with people in such a way that we're going to win them to the lord because we are not going to want
00:38:00.500 to see any of these humans we've made eye contact with on the earth and then make eye contact with 0.55
00:38:04.740 them and they're separated we're on this side and they're on that side we make eye contact and they
00:38:09.540 go how the you just let me you couldn't why didn't you just left me for dead dude you see what i'm
00:38:16.420 saying there's nobody that we're going to be like yeah that's what you get it's a crazy thing to
00:38:19.860 think think of too like that i think all people are are after the same thing they all want that
00:38:26.260 closeness and and maybe they're not describing it right maybe they're not yes prescribing it and and
00:38:32.500 going after it the right way because of deception yeah yeah and that's the that's like the heartbreaking
00:38:37.620 part yeah i mean but that's what like matthew 24 when they when jesus starts talking about the end
00:38:42.660 you know and he's talking about like wars rumors of wars pestilence hey he says he says let no man
00:38:47.620 deceive you yeah and he says like don't let any false prophets deceive you like like deception
00:38:52.740 is a major thing dude deception is a major thing on planet earth and this has got to be the peak
00:38:58.060 of deception up to this point on planet earth i don't think that like uh the one world order
00:39:04.500 whatever you want to call it the forces of darkness have ever had this kind of uh control of
00:39:09.220 all of humanity at one time across the planet unless i mean there's a good argument of like
00:39:14.080 pre-flood or even the tower of abel but like since then i mean the amount of deception that
00:39:20.040 can go across to the entirety of planet earth at once is incredible man you got to stay grounded
00:39:25.300 in god that's why this bible is so shocking dude that like after all these decades and centuries
00:39:31.160 and thousands of years that like we still have this and we're still grounded in this word no
00:39:35.900 matter how much everything else is changing no matter how much deception goes on out there dude
00:39:40.520 like we still have this, like we can still stay grounded in this, even though it becomes
00:39:44.340 more and more bizarre and more and more strange and more and more like not like normal every day
00:39:50.680 and every year that goes by. But it's like we have this, dude. Eating well shouldn't be
00:39:55.260 complicated, but somehow it turns into recipes, prep, cleanup and half your Sunday gone.
00:40:01.460 Factor solves all that. These are fresh, ready to eat meals designed by dieticians,

00:40:51.100 Factor, Canada's number one meal delivery service.
00:40:55.020 Amen.
00:40:55.760 Okay, so birds are also a great picture of give us this day our daily bread.
00:41:00.000 That's what I think about when you look at the birds.
00:41:02.040 Because they eat the bread?
00:41:03.120 No, I'm just saying, like, you know, like, give us this day our daily bread.
00:41:06.520 Like, we're praying that.
00:41:07.760 Birds can't store up, dude.
00:41:09.700 Like, I can go to the grocery store and buy enough food for a week.
00:41:12.640 A bird can't do that.
00:41:13.780 A bird every day is looking at God and saying, give us this day our daily bread.
00:41:18.260 Like, they're a great picture of that, man.
00:41:20.640 And, like, we should keep that.
00:41:22.400 I'm not against having groceries.
00:41:23.840 I'm not even against having, like, jarred foods and canned stuff that you've canned yourself.
00:41:28.720 Because you never know when the food system could get a little wild.
00:41:31.840 like we can do those things so we should but like a bird is completely dependent on god give us this 0.81
00:41:38.380 day our daily bread the call back to jews in the desert too or hebrews in the desert yeah all right
00:41:44.100 so the birds and ants work right our examples of godly men through scripture work we unpacked that
00:41:48.800 last week we're like samuel finds david in the field working elijah finds elisha in the field
00:41:53.700 working jesus comes down gets his uh 12 apostles finds them working right so we have those for
00:41:59.640 examples, right? So we work, but after having done all we stand and we know that the fruit is coming
00:42:06.260 because God is the provider. That's like the picture of the flower is like a lily or any type
00:42:11.300 of flower is growing, right? It's got a stem. And then ultimately that flower, that's where fruit
00:42:15.880 comes from. Like that's the fruit of that plant, right? So, so we stand and know that the fruit's
00:42:20.880 coming because God is the provider, right? And that's the transition from verse 26 to 27.
00:42:27.660 Fruit isn't a product, or in this case, a flower isn't a product of worry, right?
00:42:32.120 It's a product of nature or like your character, like the fruit is going to happen, right?
00:42:38.000 People say, what did Ravenhill used to say?
00:42:40.140 That your reputation is what man thinks about you.
00:42:43.680 Your character is what God knows about you.
00:42:46.200 Like that's what this is, right?
00:42:47.560 Fruit isn't a product of worry and anxiety.
00:42:50.040 It's a product of nature or character.
00:42:53.500 It's what flows naturally.
00:42:54.920 So cultivate your character and relationship with God.
00:42:57.900 Like that, like, that's what I'm saying is like, after having done all stand, like, look
00:43:02.340 at that, look at the flower, look at the lily of the field, man, like cultivate those roots,
00:43:06.360 focus on the root, not the fruit, focus on your roots, be grounded in God, be like the
00:43:11.120 man that dug down to build his foundation deep, right?
00:43:14.960 Like do that, do the unseen things, do the stuff that people don't see cultivating that
00:43:19.440 intimacy with God.
00:43:20.420 And then he'll take it from there, right?
00:43:21.780 Because even the human process for making clothes, right?
00:43:24.620 it says like the lilies neither toil or spin it's talking about the process of making clothes
00:43:29.120 solomon with unlimited money can't produce what god provides yeah that's that's staggering man
00:43:36.920 so think about that today dude like the ai the software the phones the tvs the computer like
00:43:42.460 whatever it is dude like man in all of his uh work and all of his doing and all of his getting
00:43:49.160 cannot produce what god provides man you ever heard this song from donny mcclarklin called
00:43:54.340 stand it's exactly on that the scripture that you're talking about fantastic from the uh worship
00:43:59.540 music industry uh it's from the gospel i mean this is from like back in the day like black gospel
00:44:05.060 music great great song go check that out if you guys interested in that all right so now we're in
00:44:11.140 psalm 43 5. okay this is what it says why are thou cast down on my soul and why are thou disquieted
00:44:20.020 right like anxiety this is talking about why why are you cast down you know how just sometimes
00:44:25.300 you're like that i know you guys like to make fun of the heavy spirit but like sometimes you
00:44:28.900 just have a heavy spirit you're cast down right your soul is just disquieted within me why
00:44:34.500 right he's saying here's the solution hope in god for i shall yet praise him who is the health of
00:44:39.380 my countenance am i god i like that word hope because in hebrews it talks about like hope
00:44:43.860 being an anchor of the soul and if you think about like an anchor right like you're on a
00:44:48.820 say you're on a boat. So you're on like this moving thing that's on this moving thing called
00:44:55.160 water. And this anchor has to go through this moving, like transitory thing. It goes through
00:45:01.200 that. It goes through that and anchors into something that doesn't move. Like hope is an
00:45:07.140 anchor for our soul. It's what it says in Hebrews. Like we are anchored in God, right? And so all the
00:45:12.760 other stuff is moving, but we're anchored in God. Like the hope is an anchor to our souls. Like all
00:45:18.280 the things and all the stuff and all the changing and the moving and the stress and the anxiety,
00:45:23.020 it doesn't matter. I'm anchored, right? Because I have hope. If we go into 4610, it says it a
00:45:31.860 little bit plainer what the solution is here. Be still and know that I'm God, right? Be still and
00:45:38.620 know that I'm God. Put on the whole armor of God. And after having done all, be still and know that
00:45:44.320 i'm god i like that it's like after having done all stand like that's what it means man um if we
00:45:52.260 look at uh if we look at um well i actually i want to sit here for a minute be still and know
00:46:00.280 that i'm god like here's one thing when i find myself in a uh tricky situation i've been trying
00:46:05.080 to keep in mind this happened to me one time and it's never gone away since was that like uh a thing
00:46:11.360 happened where i was kind of uh it was a bad thing happened to me and it was shocking to me too like
00:46:17.480 the people that were involved in it i was shocked at the way they acted about it and then sometime
00:46:22.700 when you got kicked out of nds
00:46:24.200 no it wasn't that bad this is like but uh there was this thing i was shocked by the two parties
00:46:32.820 one was definitely not a christian and was one was right and i was more shocked at the christian
00:46:37.680 like the way the whole thing went down. But anyway, I don't know. I'm very careful about
00:46:43.140 praying to God about like personal things of like, I'm being done dirty here because there's very
00:46:47.260 much an element where God's like, Oh, you poor baby. Like, Oh, you have it so bad down there.
00:46:51.480 Like you've got unlimited food, water and electricity. And you're like crying to me
00:46:55.560 about this, but like, did you see what they did to me down there? Like, get used to it, dude.
00:46:59.220 That's like, that's how it goes down there. There's an element of that. Right. But this
00:47:02.660 had gone on for a while. And I was kind of crying out to God, like, God, you got to help me with
00:47:07.140 this man like this is getting rough and uh sometime in that prayer i was like this doesn't
00:47:13.340 sound like rocket science but i was like this didn't catch you off guard like like i'm i'm so
00:47:19.580 caught off guard by this i did not see this coming but you totally knew this was coming
00:47:23.620 you're not caught you're not caught off guard by this in any way i don't know that brings me like
00:47:29.300 great comfort that like whatever the thing is like whatever happens god was not caught off guard by
00:47:35.120 that. He knew it was coming. He knew it was happening. Right. And he is the provider and I
00:47:39.600 have given him my life as a living sacrifice. So that's another thing of where you just, you don't
00:47:44.140 have the anxiety. You might be caught off guard. God's not, God's not like, oh crap, what do we do
00:47:49.380 now? He's never doing that. You know, but I think a lot of times, man, he's saying like, uh, let's 0.89
00:47:56.000 see how he reacts. Right. If he's looking at you and he's seeing you're going through that, let's
00:48:00.640 see how he handles this. Maybe even to say, Michael, come here, man. Look what they're doing
00:48:04.060 to matt let's watch this let's see how he handles it oh they're definitely watching i mean in daniel
00:48:07.980 the angel said yeah we watched you and we liked what you did so i'm saying so say so say all that's
00:48:13.160 going down like that and you're just shocked and caught off guard god's like yeah no i'm watching
00:48:17.620 i see you let's see how you handle this i don't know that that makes it be still and know that
00:48:22.840 i'm god it's like you have to just have a sense where you go you know what i'm okay with this
00:48:26.780 god god's not caught off guard i'm i'm gonna be okay with it god knew this was gonna happen
00:48:32.280 I'm going to be okay with it.
00:48:33.860 Eating well shouldn't be complicated,
00:48:35.980 but somehow it turns into recipes, prep, cleanup,
00:48:39.300 and half your Sunday gone.
00:48:41.300 Factor solves all that.

00:49:30.980 Factor, Canada's number one meal delivery service.
00:49:34.640 All right, let's look at one of the great examples of be still and know that I'm God
00:49:39.660 is Exodus 14, 5 through 31.
00:49:51.220 And the Lord said unto Moses,
00:49:53.040 Wherefore cryest thou unto me?
00:49:54.860 Speak unto the children of Israel.
00:49:56.320 What? I thought we were in verse 5.
00:49:58.480 15. Sorry, what did you say?
00:50:00.320 14, 5 through 31.
00:50:02.660 I like that verse, though.
00:50:03.960 That's why you caught me right there.
00:50:05.060 I was like, wait, good thing I was listening.
00:50:06.740 All right, hold on. I'll start reading.
00:50:08.040 Starting in verse 5.
00:50:09.220 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled.
00:50:14.080 And the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants
00:50:16.260 was turned against the people, and they said,
00:50:18.080 why have we done this, that we have let Israel go
00:50:20.300 from serving us? 0.75
00:50:22.300 Which is wild, man.
00:50:23.400 you know you think about like how we're enslaved in america like with um i know a lot of people
00:50:31.780 may not think that but imagine like you live in california and you get taxed on the federal rate
00:50:35.980 at the highest rate it's like 39 and then you have a state income tax of 13 so already over
00:50:41.360 half your income goes to so-called taxes right but then they run the money machine like it's a
00:50:46.380 slot machine they pull the lever and all this money comes out so every day your money that
00:50:51.160 you've been earning is worth less and less and less every day. Then you got to pay these taxes
00:50:55.660 for, uh, uh, property tax. You've got to pay like sales tax, you know, like when you're buying
00:51:00.940 instead of the retail tax, then you've got this, uh, tax called, uh, so-called insurance. So you've
00:51:06.200 got like home insurance, car insurance, uh, so-called medical insurance or healthcare
00:51:11.700 insurance. You have all this, like a giant chunk of your money is not your money that you've worked
00:51:17.500 so there's like this in slavery that's happening to people just not really knowing it right and
00:51:23.700 then i don't know it does make you wonder like um do you fight that system you you know especially
00:51:30.640 if you live in california go no i want to pay less taxes or just figure out how to exit that system
00:51:35.060 man like you're in the world but you're not of the world like that's ultimately what god did he just
00:51:39.800 took these people this slave people out of the most powerful empire on planet earth like there's 0.80
00:51:45.380 no difference between him doing that for the, for the Jews in that day, for the Hebrews in that day, 0.92
00:51:50.340 for the Israelites. Like there's no difference for him doing that and doing that for us today,
00:51:54.740 man. Like we can pull ourselves out of that system more and more. You know, we can start
00:51:59.460 to look at the things we don't need and not get trapped in the maze. We're like rats in a maze
00:52:04.200 right now. And we can see that and we can try to step out of it as much as possible. And I think
00:52:09.200 too many times people are like, yeah, my way out is to make more money. It's like, no, you're just
00:52:12.780 going to go deeper and deeper in the maze, dude. You just keep going deeper and deeper. The more
00:52:16.500 you think the solution is just getting more money. Like if you can get to where you need less money,
00:52:21.200 where you need less things and stuff, where you're less dependent on the things of the world,
00:52:25.660 that's how you get out. Like that's how you be in the world and not of the world. That's part of it.
00:52:29.700 That's part of it. That's not all of it, but that's part of it. Why have we done this that
00:52:34.180 we have let Israel go from serving us? And he made ready his chariot and took his people with 1.00
00:52:38.100 them. And he took 600 chosen chariots and all the chariots of Egypt and captains over every one of
00:52:42.660 them. And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And he pursued after the children
00:52:47.400 of Israel and the children of Israel went out with a high hand. That means like they would like 0.94
00:52:52.860 fist raised in defiance, but the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh 0.72
00:52:58.300 and his horsemen and his army and overtook them in camping by the sea beside Piharoth before
00:53:04.240 Bal-Ziphon. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and
00:53:08.860 behold, the Egyptians marched after them, and they were so afraid, and the children of Israel cried
00:53:14.980 out unto the Lord. That's good. And they said unto Moses, because there were no graves in Egypt,
00:53:19.400 have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore have you dealt thus with us to carry
00:53:23.380 us forth out of Egypt? That part's bad. Is not this the word that we did tell you in Egypt,
00:53:28.840 saying, let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? Dude, even like, they're potentially 0.89
00:53:33.900 thinking like they're going to die and they're still saying told you so isn't this crazy isn't
00:53:39.060 human nature so crazy this desire to be like i'm right you're wrong told you so moses you see that
00:53:44.500 all the time yeah you see dude they're about to die and they're doing that they're about to die
00:53:48.360 and they're saying we told you so moses we were right all along you were wrong that's that's wild
00:53:52.820 to me dude this whole thing with like debate culture is just it's just a sign of it's just
00:53:57.080 a symptom of it but it's in humans dude this whole like i'm right you're wrong arguing about the
00:54:01.620 minutiae as the ship sinks yeah yeah yeah so they go uh for it had been better for us to serve the
00:54:07.180 egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness and moses said to the people fear not
00:54:12.720 shut out fear not to shout out fear not and uh moses said to the people fear not stand still
00:54:19.880 and see the salvation of the lord that's what we're talking about right after having done all
00:54:24.040 stand stand stand still and see the salvation of the lord which he will show you today for the 0.83
00:54:29.480 Egyptians you have seen today, you shall see them again no more. The Lord shall fight for you. This
00:54:34.540 is what we keep talking about. He is the provider. The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold
00:54:39.420 your peace or shut up is what it would be in plain English. And the Lord said unto Moses,
00:54:44.320 wherefore Christ unto me, it's wild that you read that verse. This is, this is another one
00:54:49.680 of the most staggering verses. To me, this is like, I don't, I, I don't know what to make of
00:54:55.820 this man he says the lord said to moses why are you talking to me moses is like hey man we're
00:55:02.900 we're locked in here like i like i know you said to do this but we're we're trapped like the red
00:55:07.780 sea's right there what are we doing the biggest empire on the planet's coming after us with all
00:55:12.080 of their military might hey god what do you want me to do here and god says yeah what are you
00:55:16.860 talking to me about this is staggering dude listen okay there's no way there's no way that
00:55:23.340 god is just screwing with you now like he's got to be right no dude dude big lesson here i know
00:55:29.660 but come on we okay yeah go out yeah leave leave egypt yeah go here go right into the go right walk 0.97
00:55:38.280 right to the sea where it looks like you can go no further and i'm not going to give you any
00:55:41.840 instruction and then when you ask me i'm like come on dude okay but watch what he says hilarious watch
00:55:46.900 what he says though speak unto the children of israel that they go forward but lift up but lift
00:55:54.200 thou up thy rod and stretch out thy hand he says this is staggering dude he says moses what are you
00:56:01.160 talking to me for you do it that's wild yeah you know that stick that you were afraid of you know
00:56:07.880 that stick when i first gave it to you and you threw it on the ground it turned into a snake
00:56:11.400 and you were afraid of it i told you pick it up by the tail how long you had that stick for man
00:56:16.400 How long have me and you been on this ride, Moses?
00:56:19.260 We've been on this journey for a long time.
00:56:21.860 You know me now.
00:56:22.800 I know you.
00:56:24.200 You don't even talk to me about it.
00:56:26.000 You just do it.
00:56:27.360 I don't know what to make of that, dude.
00:56:29.940 That's a very wild statement.
00:56:31.520 There's just no way that Moses could have conceptualized doing that by himself.
00:56:37.940 And this is comedy almost in a way.
00:56:41.080 But it's like God expected him to.
00:56:42.620 But to your point, Moses couldn't be like, oh, the play is that I take this stick you
00:56:46.420 gave me and I lift it in the sea part.
00:56:48.240 I don't think God ever expected him to know.
00:56:49.960 How could you possibly know?
00:56:51.200 I don't know.
00:56:51.900 But he, dude, they were close.
00:56:53.380 They were close.
00:56:54.000 It's like these stories where they say, oh, Moses had an anger problem.
00:56:56.580 It's like, no, no, no.
00:56:57.200 Read right before.
00:56:58.000 God's angry.
00:56:58.980 Moses spends so much time with God.
00:57:00.720 Like God's angry.
00:57:01.800 Now Moses is angry.
00:57:03.540 So Moses, I guess in this story.
00:57:05.900 Was he thinking it?
00:57:06.720 You think he was thinking like, dude, we're going to have to part the sea.
00:57:09.660 Maybe he panicked and stopped.
00:57:11.100 I think when you panic also, you start relying on yourself rather than listening to God.
00:57:17.540 Maybe that's a—if the relationship is that close, maybe that's what happened here.
00:57:21.740 Otherwise, God is just—maybe he's just joking with him.
00:57:25.200 And the people getting at him.
00:57:27.140 Yeah.
00:57:27.480 That gets at people too, man.
00:57:28.900 You get flustered.
00:57:29.580 I mean, imagine.
00:57:30.480 You're probably flustered.
00:57:31.460 Yeah, dude.
00:57:32.720 I don't know how many real ones he's got around him.
00:57:34.920 I mean, Joshua's his boy.
00:57:36.280 Aaron's his boy.
00:57:37.140 But even Aaron and Miriam kind of turn on him a little bit.
00:57:38.980 Yeah, but you have the largest army in the world.
00:57:41.300 Coming after you and you're responsible for whatever this is,
00:57:43.760 two million people, and you're coming to terms with, like,
00:57:45.700 they're all about to get wiped out.
00:57:47.360 But, like, but they're not because I've already seen this whole thing.
00:57:50.220 I've already seen this play out in Egypt.
00:57:52.220 And I've already, I know the whole story,
00:57:53.980 God telling me how this is going to go.
00:57:55.680 But I still, I don't, like, what's the play here?
00:57:57.980 But it doesn't matter how many times you've seen it.
00:57:59.980 People still see miracles and then still don't understand what happens next.
00:58:05.360 I'm guilty.
00:58:05.980 You're guilty of it.
00:58:06.820 Everyone's guilty of that.
00:58:07.720 how do you have that mindset under that type of pressure i don't know man but god expected it
00:58:15.200 of moses he says why are you talking to me dude lift up the stick that's so wild to me man he
00:58:21.340 says you've been with me long enough you do it it's crazy the lord said unto moses wherefore
00:58:28.100 cries thou unto me speak unto the children of israel that they go forward but lift thou up thy
00:58:34.360 rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea. God puts the emphasis on Moses three times. Lift thou
00:58:41.120 up thy rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall 0.89
00:58:46.640 go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. But God says, but don't sweat it. This isn't just
00:58:51.440 you, Moses. And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians. I'll do my part. You do your 0.98
00:58:56.300 part. I'll do my part. And they shall fall. And then even that's offensive because it's all God's
00:59:01.160 part. But God says, no, no, this part's your part, Moses. Do it. And they shall follow them,
00:59:07.680 and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his hosts, and upon his chariots, and upon
00:59:12.380 his horsemen. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I have gotten me honor upon
00:59:17.080 Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. People get offended also where it says, like,
00:59:22.240 I'll harden the hearts of the Egyptians. But the Egyptians that believed were with Israel already.
00:59:27.100 There was a mixed multitude went out with them.
00:59:29.120 That's in chapter 12.
00:59:30.560 I think it's 1238.
00:59:32.100 But we know there's this mixed multitude that went out with them.
00:59:34.580 It's just like when the children of Israel weren't saved because they were Israelites on the night of Passover.
00:59:39.680 They were saved because they applied the blood.
00:59:41.680 Eating well shouldn't be complicated.

01:00:41.740 They were saved because it was the night of Passover. 0.96
01:00:43.460 They took the hyssop, they took the lamb, they took the blood, they put it on the doorpost, 0.88
01:00:47.500 and that's what told the destroying angel to keep going.
01:00:49.820 If they didn't do that, that angel's coming in there.
01:00:52.960 do you think do you think there's something to say here about like the the splitting up of
01:00:56.960 responsibility like god's like hey you should have known you handle that like your part to handle is
01:01:04.720 this impossible task of splitting a sea yeah and walking across dry land like that's yeah crazy
01:01:12.880 my part being god i'm not god is to harden the heart like to work with the hearts of men
01:01:20.480 like you can't do that yeah amen that's that's a crazy like what you're saying yeah but preachers
01:01:26.620 should keep that in mind like do your preaching that's great but god's like i'll handle the hearts
01:01:31.620 yeah you you could preach the greatest it happens in churches across america every sunday dude guys
01:01:37.700 probably put together the most impeccable speeches dude with the most incredible english you've ever
01:01:42.120 heard right big words complicated words very sophisticated where half the people don't even
01:01:47.680 understand but it's so brilliant of a sermon but it has nothing to do with god right they didn't
01:01:52.640 the sermon didn't originate in god it wasn't prayed for by the heart of god to prepare the
01:01:57.920 hearts of the people and it has no effect right but then the opposite is like maybe it's not a
01:02:04.240 wonderful sermon maybe it's not immaculate and it's english and it's grammar and it's big words
01:02:10.000 and it's things that sound too complicated for normal people to understand he says turn to your
01:02:14.080 neighbor and say whatever but it's yeah it's it's about what's working through it yeah it's about
01:02:19.440 god doing the part of preparing men's hearts man that's all that matters dude would you rather like
01:02:25.840 have some crushing certain like you're just crushing on some sermon and none of the hearts
01:02:29.760 are prepared and it doesn't affect anybody or you do a bad sermon maybe even one you're a little
01:02:34.640 embarrassed of and you kind of fumbled through it or whatever like this one right now but the hearts
01:02:38.640 were prepared but the hearts of the people were prepared and they changed from it yeah that's what
01:02:44.980 you're talking about you brought it up that's a great point yeah it's almost like folly man it's
01:02:50.160 like something that you can probably never do you can never split the ocean but that's like
01:02:54.800 he's like you handle that you can do that man what a crazy but he's always saying i just think
01:02:59.680 it matters to understand god's part man's part right like always understand that as you read
01:03:04.320 scripture and then understand that your own life the people will say no god does everything there's
01:03:09.960 an element of truth in that too like okay that's fine i'm fine with that but like you got to know
01:03:14.480 you still got to be doing the doing he wants to he wants to walk with you he does he can do
01:03:19.320 everything but he wants you to take part in this it's like the co-laborer co-laboring with god
01:03:24.280 yeah yeah and the egyptians shall know that i am the lord when i have gotten me honor upon pharaoh
01:03:29.800 upon his chariots and upon his horsemen and the angel of god which went before the camp of israel
01:03:34.200 removed and went behind them. And the pillar of the cloud went before their face and stood behind
01:03:38.980 them. So here's God going before you and behind you. This is heavy, man. And it came. So you got
01:03:46.520 the pillar of cloud went from before their face and stood behind them. And it came between the
01:03:50.840 camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. And it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave
01:03:55.600 light by night to these. So that the one came not near the other all the night. And Moses stretched
01:04:02.580 out his hand over the sea and the Lord caused the sea to go back. There you go. There's Moses part,
01:04:07.920 God's part. Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a
01:04:12.640 strong east wind all that night and made the sea dry land. And the waters were divided. And the
01:04:17.760 children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground. And the waters were a wall
01:04:22.200 under them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went in after them
01:04:28.700 to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen. And it 0.93
01:04:34.000 came to pass that in the morning watch, the Lord looked into the host of the Egyptians through the
01:04:39.160 pillar of fire into the cloud and troubled the host of the Egyptians. Can you imagine if you're
01:04:43.100 just like the Egyptian army, you're just, you're coming after them like this. And there's this
01:04:47.820 cloud, like there's this supernatural thing. It's not natural. There's this cloud that's like come
01:04:52.200 between you and this other army. And you're looking in the cloud and it just looks like a
01:04:56.480 cloud and then all of a sudden you see this yeah he looks at him dude it says the lord looked into
01:05:02.660 the host of the egyptians through the pillar of fire into the cloud and troubled the host of the
01:05:07.080 egyptians and took off their chariot wheels that they drove them heavily so that the egyptians said
01:05:12.180 let us flee from the face of israel for the lord fights for them against the egyptians you read
01:05:18.180 that you go they're just finding this out did they not see the rest of the plagues they not remember 0.98
01:05:22.420 like the he killed all the firstborn like in that moment they go for the lord fights for them against
01:05:28.100 the egyptians yeah but they saw god face to face yeah but who knows how long this story went on man
01:05:33.540 i don't know i don't know you know we read it we're like yeah no kidding he's fighting for them
01:05:38.180 you guys you guys still haven't figured that out it's like who knows how much time's involved and
01:05:43.140 you know you get in the rat race and it's go go go and you tend to forget things you know
01:05:46.660 you tend to just kind of get caught in the moment maybe it just shows like you can see all these
01:05:51.140 miracles uh you know your firstborn child dying of frogs locusts whatever they're plagues but
01:05:57.540 they're kind of like supernatural miracles they had they had to come face to face and
01:06:02.420 look at god it's too late now though well in a way too i guess it's they're not really looking
01:06:07.620 at god but whatever they saw spooked them spooked them enough to turn turn back yeah
01:06:14.660 and the lord said unto moses stretch out your hand over the sea that the waters may come again
01:06:18.500 So after he rolls off all their wheels, they're stuck in the middle.
01:06:24.940 He said, okay, put your stick back out there. 0.98
01:06:26.560 Stretch out your hand over the sea that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, 0.98
01:06:29.820 upon their chariots and upon their horsemen.
01:06:32.460 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea,
01:06:34.480 and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared.
01:06:39.280 Man. 0.92
01:06:40.580 And the Egyptians fled against it, 0.85
01:06:42.460 and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 0.86
01:06:45.400 And the waters returned and covered the chariots, 0.94
01:06:47.940 and the horsemen and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them,
01:06:52.940 there remained not so much as one of them.
01:06:56.980 This is so crazy to me.
01:06:58.400 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea,
01:07:01.540 and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand and on their left.
01:07:04.520 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, 0.87
01:07:08.120 and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore. 0.79
01:07:11.740 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians,
01:07:14.740 and the people feared the Lord and believed the Lord and his servant Moses.
01:07:19.420 And we know that doesn't last long.
01:07:22.240 Three days later, they start murmuring.
01:07:24.340 I don't want to spoil it, but three days later, they start murmuring, which is staggering.
01:07:28.620 They just saw the Red Sea part, but faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
01:07:32.220 You can see the Red Sea part and lose faith.
01:07:34.980 But this is a staggering story.
01:07:37.740 Eating well shouldn't be complicated, but somehow it turns into recipes, prep, cleanup, and half your Sunday gone.
01:07:44.740 Factor solves all that.
01:07:46.820 These are fresh, ready-to-eat meals designed by dieticians,
01:07:50.060 delivered to your door and ready in just minutes.
01:07:52.640 No prep, no cleanup, no excuses.
01:07:55.300 And it's not just about convenience.
01:07:57.200 You're getting real food, balanced nutrition, and zero artificial stuff.
01:08:01.360 Meals that help you stay on track for all of your goals,
01:08:04.200 without the grind of doing it all yourself.
01:08:06.740 Grilled chicken, roasted veggies, steak plates, pasta bowls.
01:08:09.900 They taste like something you'd get in a restaurant,
01:08:12.300 but they come out of your microwave in two minutes flat.
01:08:14.740 If time, cost, or effort have been holding you back from eating better,
01:08:17.840 Factor just took those off the table.
01:08:19.680 Right now, get up to $90 off and free shipping.
01:08:22.820 Hurry, this offer won't last long.
01:08:24.860 Go to factormeals.ca and use code POWER.
01:08:27.960 That's up to $90 off and free shipping,
01:08:30.620 but only with the code POWER at factormeals.ca.
01:08:34.600 Factor, Canada's number one meal delivery service.
01:08:38.000 Ultimately, the whole point I was making is be still and know that I'm God, right?
01:08:42.180 After having done all, stand, right?
01:08:44.740 like count on god to do the impossible but like we're told in 1 corinthians 10 that uh you don't
01:08:51.540 have to pull it up but i'm just saying well yeah you can pull it up 1 corinthians 10 verses 1 and
01:08:56.740 2 we're told that this is a type of baptism man that all these things happen to israel as examples
01:09:03.220 to us in 1 corinthians 10 1 and 2 it says they were baptized into moses in the cloud and in the sea
01:09:08.740 and so something happens here man moreover brethren i would not that you should be ignorant
01:09:15.360 how that all our fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the sea who is it that said 0.94
01:09:19.540 anywhere it says don't be ignorant i wish that you weren't ignorant there's a good chance the 0.99
01:09:24.000 church is ignorant because he was being ignorant uh and we're all baptized into moses in the cloud 0.99
01:09:30.720 and in the sea so this is a type of baptism to us right because as you go further down that says all 0.99
01:09:36.180 these things happen to them as examples for us. So as a type of baptism, I believe this in all
01:09:41.740 my heart and I've seen it too, where people are baptized and enemies that had access to them on
01:09:47.400 that side of baptism, no longer have access to them. Now, Israel goes on this side of the land 0.92
01:09:52.520 and has a whole new batch of enemies, but those enemies that were previously destroying them no
01:09:58.380 longer have access to them. And it's interesting. They see them die and then they all wash up on
01:10:05.740 short is this where israel gets their weapons because like oh yeah because like they go they 0.65
01:10:10.900 go into the land they start fighting og king of bashan uh they go sihan is it like there's all
01:10:16.900 this they start fighting like before they even get in the promised land they're having to fight
01:10:21.220 like on this side before they go into the promised land and i don't i mean there's two million people
01:10:26.060 and you're like i don't know i'm just they left with a lot of stuff they left with gold for sure
01:10:30.560 so maybe they gave them all their gold and silver but i mean yeah did they have weapons i mean in
01:10:35.620 egypt were they allowed to have weapons i don't i don't think as a slave nation they were allowed
01:10:39.060 to have weapons but so you just it just begs the question i don't know maybe they got in the
01:10:42.640 wilderness and started making weapons but here's all the egyptians and all their stuff is washed
01:10:46.660 up they're all dead on the seashore man i don't know maybe this is when they're all like bro grab
01:10:51.200 the swords grab their stuff yeah i don't know it's a wild story man but but in the end of the
01:10:57.440 it's like stand still and see the salvation of the lord that's the same god that provides your
01:11:02.320 clothing like this whole thing we're talking about is like same god that provides your weaponry if
01:11:07.040 it's washed up on the sea right yeah yeah so just think of how silly it is in light of a story like
01:11:12.080 that to be anxious over like food water and clothes you know that's the context of the flower he says
01:11:18.960 dude look how it's clothed so the same god that did that right stand still and see the salvation
01:11:23.760 of the Lord, it's the same one that provides clothing for you. Same God. So there's no more
01:11:30.880 prep work, right? There's nothing else I can do. I've been faithful and I've gone as far as I can
01:11:34.600 go. Now I stand and know that my life is in God's hands, right? Let's look at another example that's
01:11:39.800 in Acts 12. If we look at Acts 12, 1 through 12, this is a cool story. People like these stories.
01:11:47.860 now about that time herod the king stretched forth his hand to vex a certain amount of the
01:11:55.120 church and he killed james the brother of john with the sword that sucks that was probably rough
01:12:01.800 on john and because he saw it pleased the jews he proceeded further to take peter john is probably 0.93
01:12:08.480 messed up right here dude they just killed his brother and now they're taking his boy peter
01:12:12.420 think i were yeah that's a whole nother thing for another time then were the days of unlimited
01:12:17.500 of unleavened bread and when he had apprehended him he put him in prison and delivered him to
01:12:21.320 four quaternions of soldiers to keep him intending after easter to bring him forth to the people
01:12:25.600 peter therefore was kept in prison but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto god for
01:12:31.080 him and when herod would have brought him forth the same night peter was sleeping between two
01:12:35.300 soldiers bound with two chains and the keepers before the door kept the prison there's not a
01:12:40.880 lot more helpless situation than that like uh sleeping between two soldiers bound with two
01:12:46.780 chains and there's and there's four quaternions of soldiers i'm not a mathematician but a
01:12:52.240 quaternion i would guess has to be at least four so at least 16 we're talking yeah plus he's chained
01:12:58.160 to two and behold the angel of the lord came upon him and a light shined in the prison and he smoked
01:13:04.060 peter on the side and raised him up saying arise up quickly and his chains fell off from his hands
01:13:08.300 like be still and know that i'm god like after having done all stand like peter there's nothing
01:13:14.140 left for you to do here. Like the bird can go and hustle and do the stuff, but you're the flower
01:13:18.460 now. Like you can't do anything. And the angel said unto him, gird thyself and bind on thy sandals.
01:13:23.580 And so he did. And he saith unto him, cast thy garment about thee and follow me. And he went
01:13:27.520 out and followed him and wist not that it was true, which was done by the angel, but thought
01:13:31.320 he saw a vision. That's how realistic visions are. When they were past the first and the second
01:13:38.340 word, they came under the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them of his own
01:13:42.780 accord and they went out and passed on through the one street forthwith and the angel departed
01:13:47.220 from him and when peter was come to himself he said now i know of a surety that the lord has
01:13:51.140 sent his angel and has delivered me out of the hand of herod and from all the expectation of
01:13:55.240 the people of the jews and when he had considered the thing he came to the house of mary the mother
01:13:59.580 of john whose surname was mark where many were gathered together praying this is a guy who gets
01:14:05.520 it right after having done all stand be still and see the salvation of the lord he goes to sleep
01:14:11.300 dude. They're going to kill him the next day. He goes to sleep. I don't know if I could take a 1.00
01:14:16.860 nap or sleep if I knew they were cutting my head off the next day. He goes to sleep. He says,
01:14:23.120 yeah, I'm good. And God does this. He did everything I could. Yeah, but these are these
01:14:27.640 examples of where it's like, after having done all, stand. God's got this. We're just trying
01:14:35.180 to emphasize that i'll do one more uh acts 5 12 through 20. it says and by the hands of the
01:14:42.440 apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people and they were all with one accord in
01:14:47.760 solomon's porch and of the rest there's no man joined himself to the apostles but the people
01:14:53.600 magnified them so no other men like joined the apostles at that time but they magnified them
01:15:00.420 And they were like, these dudes know what's up.
01:15:02.440 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes, both of men and women.
01:15:07.300 They weren't added to this denomination or that denomination or First Baptist or Second Baptist.
01:15:12.940 They were added to the Lord.
01:15:14.940 What scripture are we adding?
01:15:16.180 Acts 5, verses 12 through 20.
01:15:19.260 So I'm just in like verse 14 now.
01:15:21.960 Believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes, both of men and women.
01:15:25.940 That's beautiful.
01:15:26.480 Like when multitudes are added to the Lord, not to some specific background or doctrine or theology or specific denomination, they're added to the Lord.
01:15:36.120 That's what was happening.
01:15:37.580 In so much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches that at least, that at the least, the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
01:15:48.060 Like he was saturated with the spirit of God.
01:15:49.860 If you got in contact with his shadow, people were getting healed.
01:15:52.880 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem,
01:15:57.080 bringing sick folks and them which were vexed with unclean spirits,
01:16:00.500 and they were healed, every one.
01:16:03.840 Then the high priest rose up and all they that were with him,
01:16:07.800 which is the sect of the Sadducees,
01:16:09.560 which is the denomination of the Sadducees,
01:16:12.060 and were filled with indignation, right?
01:16:14.700 Because people were being healed and delivered from demons.
01:16:16.840 They're filled with indignation.
01:16:18.560 And laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison.
01:16:22.020 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors and brought them forth and said,
01:16:26.440 go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
01:16:31.020 I love that.
01:16:31.800 So I'm just saying that wasn't Peter's first time even getting broken out of prison by an angel.
01:16:36.180 He got broken out a second time.
01:16:38.220 But I love that the angel says, go.
01:16:40.960 He breaks them out.
01:16:42.480 He says, no, no, man, you guys ain't going out like that.
01:16:44.400 I'm getting you out of here.
01:16:45.780 Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this denomination.
01:16:50.340 No. 0.57
01:16:51.600 Go stand and speak in the temple
01:16:53.020 to the people all the words
01:16:54.940 of this theology or this doctrine
01:16:56.980 or this eschatology or
01:16:58.900 this religion. No, no.
01:17:00.860 This life. That's what this is
01:17:02.780 always about. Go stand and speak in the temple
01:17:04.800 to the people all the words of this
01:17:06.900 life. That's what we're
01:17:08.820 talking about. Every time that we're talking about
01:17:11.020 the Bible, we're talking about God, 0.98
01:17:12.920 we're talking about so-called Christianity, we're talking
01:17:14.840 about the church, we're talking about this life.
01:17:17.580 That's what he says. Go and preach.
01:17:19.060 Go and preach this life.
01:17:20.700 okay let's look at one sam 11 how do you preach your life how do you preach your life well your
01:17:27.440 life living is the first thing the way you preach life but no but everything we're preaching is
01:17:32.760 pertaining to life yeah it's pertaining to like i hope nobody watches this and says oh okay cool
01:17:39.120 or listens to it and says okay cool that's how i do my religion okay cool i really like straight
01:17:44.960 bible he's bringing up some bible passages that i understand now and so i'll apply that to like
01:17:50.460 when I'm at church or I'll apply that to like when I'm in a Bible study or I'll apply that to like
01:17:55.100 when I'm doing my religious thing. No, no, no. This is this is applying to your life. This is
01:18:00.560 shaping your life. This is shaping like seven days a week. Now it's shaping your future. It's
01:18:06.720 shaping your kids future. It's shaping your wife's future. Like this is about your life. This is 0.98
01:18:10.940 about your whole life. Like nobody cares anymore how cool your church service is or like whatever
01:18:16.840 your little denomination brings to the table and then you act like a jackass the rest of the week 0.95
01:18:21.780 nobody cares anymore like that like that ship has sailed that ship has been sailed yeah and for 0.92
01:18:26.820 whatever reason we still continue to do that in america but that's not going to work and it never
01:18:31.620 has worked like people have to be living this life like the bible has to pierce you it has to it has
01:18:36.680 to become the final authority in your life right and it has to affect everything all right one sam
01:18:42.900 one through 20.

01:19:47.460 This one's going to get wonky. If we don't have the NLT, this is a story of Hannah.
01:19:51.880 This is also like the, uh, first Sam, what one
01:19:57.240 first Sam chapter one, verse one. Um, and I didn't bring the NLT slot to read it off the screen.
01:20:06.120 This is like the origin story. You know, when you watch the, uh, Avengers or maybe the X-Men
01:20:10.460 or whatever in the comic books, they say like the origin story of somebody. This is like the
01:20:14.360 origin story of Samuel. It goes hard. A somewhat common theme throughout the scripture, man,
01:20:20.180 like great men of God come from barren women. Okay. There was a man named Elkanah who lived 1.00
01:20:26.780 in Ramah in the region of Zoph in the hill country of Ephraim. He was the son of Jorahim,
01:20:33.060 son of Elihu
01:20:34.660 son of Tohu
01:20:36.360 son of Zoph
01:20:37.320 of Ephraim
01:20:38.180 Elkanah had two wives
01:20:41.260 I don't know
01:20:44.060 these dudes always had 1.00
01:20:44.900 multiple wives 1.00
01:20:45.580 back in the day bro 1.00
01:20:46.480 it's a lot
01:20:47.400 I think about it man
01:20:50.180 imagine like
01:20:50.980 you got your hands full 0.84
01:20:52.920 with one wife 0.99
01:20:53.580 in America today
01:20:54.300 they have like 0.92
01:20:54.780 multiple wives
01:20:55.660 I don't know 0.71
01:20:57.200 Hannah and Penaniah
01:20:59.420 Penaniah had children
01:21:01.040 but Hannah did not
01:21:02.180 Each year, Elkanah would travel to Shiloh to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of Heaven's
01:21:07.980 armies at the tabernacle. The priests of the Lord at that time were the two sons of Eli,
01:21:12.700 Hophni and Phinehas. On the days Elkanah presented his sacrifice, he'd give portions of the meat to
01:21:20.140 Penaniah and each of her children. And though he loved Hannah, he would give her only one choice
01:21:25.920 portion because the Lord had given her no children. So Penaniah would taunt Hannah and 0.73
01:21:31.940 make fun of her because the Lord had kept her from having children. It's wild, dude. These
01:21:37.080 stories are wild. Year after year, it was the same. Penaniah would taunt Hannah as they went
01:21:43.240 to the tabernacle. Each time, Hannah would be reduced to tears and would not even eat.
01:21:48.820 Why are you crying, Hannah? Elkanah would ask. Why aren't you eating? Why be downhearted just
01:21:53.520 because you have no children you have me isn't that better than having 10 sons it's very not 1.00
01:21:58.880 really well i gotta say something like that to jess sometime like some brown like aren't i better 0.80
01:22:08.680 than 10 sons that just sounds crazy man once after a sacrificial meal at shiloh hannah got up 0.67
01:22:14.280 and went to pray eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance of the
01:22:19.680 tabernacle. Hannah was in deep anguish. They don't teach this in the cemetery schools, man. Hannah
01:22:26.520 was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. And she made this vow. Oh, Lord of
01:22:33.400 heaven's armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I'll
01:22:38.520 give him back to you. That's like all of us, man. That's what all of us should be doing. He will be
01:22:44.660 yours for his entire lifetime and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the lord his hair will
01:22:51.000 never be cut that's like a um samson nazirite thou yeah yeah there's more to it than that but
01:22:58.120 i think she just summed it up with the you know won't cut his hair as she was praying to the lord
01:23:02.800 eli watched her right this is the this is the professional this is the priest he's watching
01:23:08.020 seeing her lips move, but hearing no sound, he thought she had been drinking. Isn't that
01:23:14.380 interesting? This is a story that's recorded in scripture. It's so big of a deal. This chick is
01:23:20.480 so deep and serious of a person. Her story is recorded in scripture. It's the origin of Samuel
01:23:26.900 and the man of God in that day is like, she must be drunk. Isn't that wild? It kind of reminds you
01:23:32.940 of like the Pharisees when Jesus is on the cross, they're like, oh yeah, somebody go watch the tomb.
01:23:37.780 we remember that that liar said that he was going to raise after three days,
01:23:41.240 get people to watch the tune.
01:23:42.540 Like they still don't even believe at the cross. 0.94
01:23:44.520 But then like the non-believers, the, uh, the centurion are like, 0.72
01:23:48.520 that was God. That's definitely God. You know,
01:23:51.860 this guy is like supposed to be the super deep spiritual head of this nation
01:23:56.040 of the church of that day. And he thinks she's drunk.
01:24:00.000 Must you come here drunk? He demanded throw away your wine. But I,
01:24:03.720 but on the other hand,
01:24:05.100 it's very telling of what like like true anguish of spirit is like crying out and praying and
01:24:10.820 groaning to god in prayer and like meaning it it's like somebody looking it might be like they're
01:24:16.900 drunk or crazy or a combination of the two oh no sir she replied i haven't been drinking wine or
01:24:25.260 anything stronger but i'm very discouraged and i was pouring out my heart to the lord that had to
01:24:29.820 feel rough to him. He probably must've been like, Oh, my bad. Don't think I'm a wicked woman for
01:24:37.180 I've been praying out of great anguish and sorrow. In that case, Eli said, go in peace.
01:24:44.300 May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him. Oh, thank you, sir. She exclaimed.
01:24:50.740 Then she went back and began to eat again. And she was no longer sad. Like she had some peace
01:24:55.980 about it the entire family got up early the next morning and went to worship the lord once more
01:25:01.260 then they returned home to ramah then when alkanah slept with hannah the lord remembered her plea
01:25:07.240 and in due time she gave birth to a son she named him samuel for she said i asked the lord for him
01:25:14.980 it's another example of like be still and know that i'm god right stand still and see the
01:25:22.260 salvation of the Lord. She's completely helpless. There's nothing she can do.
01:25:27.460 Eating well shouldn't be complicated, but somehow it turns into recipes, prep, cleanup,
01:25:33.000 and half your Sunday gone. Factor solves all that. These are fresh, ready-to-eat meals designed by
01:25:39.140 dieticians, delivered to your door and ready in just minutes. No prep, no cleanup, no excuses.
01:25:45.300 And it's not just about convenience. You're getting real food, balanced nutrition, and zero
01:25:49.980 artificial stuff. Meals that help you stay on track for all of your goals without the grind
01:25:54.960 of doing it all yourself. Grilled chicken, roasted veggies, steak plates, pasta bowls.
01:26:00.200 They taste like something you'd get in a restaurant, but they come out of your microwave in two minutes
01:26:04.240 flat. If time, cost, or effort have been holding you back from eating better, Factor just took
01:26:08.560 those off the table. Right now, get up to $90 off and free shipping. Hurry, this offer won't last
01:26:14.320 long. Go to factor meals.ca and use code power. That's up to $90 off and free shipping, but only
01:26:21.280 with the code power at factor meals.ca factor Canada's number one meal delivery service.
01:26:28.200 All right, let's look, uh, let's look at two Timothy one, one through nine. You want to wrap
01:26:33.840 up now or no, let's do this one. Two, what was it? Two Timothy, two Timothy one versus one through
01:26:42.360 nine. Gotcha.
01:26:52.200 Oh, you probably want King
01:26:54.320 James, right? Yeah. Okay.
01:26:57.620 We'll pull this
01:26:58.360 up right now. This section of my Bible is like a
01:27:00.280 little rough. Okay. Paul. I need a new Bible,
01:27:02.600 dude. No, no, it's good. It's got great notes
01:27:04.340 in it. Paul, an apostle of Jesus
01:27:06.280 Christ by the will of God, according
01:27:08.260 to the promise of life, which is
01:27:10.280 in Christ Jesus. I like that phrase.
01:27:12.360 to Timothy, my dearly beloved church member.
01:27:17.680 No.
01:27:18.180 Nope.
01:27:18.520 My dearly beloved son, grace, mercy, and peace
01:27:22.580 from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
01:27:25.280 I thank God whom I serve from my forefathers
01:27:27.940 with pure conscience that without ceasing,
01:27:30.840 I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day.
01:27:33.400 I thank God that without ceasing,
01:27:36.480 I have remembrance of you in my prayers.
01:27:38.980 Like when you're praying and there's somebody
01:27:41.100 god keeps bringing to your memory when you're praying he's thanking god that timothy always
01:27:46.140 comes up when he's praying he's like he's so glad he's like man i i never forget to pray for you
01:27:51.260 thank god he's putting that in me man without ceasing i have remembrance of you in my prayers
01:27:55.660 night and day like god's always bringing timothy to paul's mind there's people that that happens
01:28:02.060 to you right there's people you think about they're like you're they come into your mind when
01:28:05.500 you're praying even when you're not praying maybe you're just working in the food forest
01:28:08.460 it's always an interesting thing it's like do i call him do i call him maybe i call him but maybe
01:28:13.980 i don't because then that gets weird people don't always like to get called all the time but
01:28:17.260 you pray for him tell me about it what are you talking about i feel like that was i feel like
01:28:22.540 you're doing something sneaky there greatly desiring to see the being mindful of thy tears
01:28:27.260 that i may be filled with joy so maybe timothy had a little anxiety you know in another place
01:28:31.820 he tells him uh have a little wine don't just drink water have a little wine for your stomach
01:28:37.660 sake i know this is super offensive but it's just interesting you know like the stomach is almost
01:28:42.780 like the seed of anxiety that like uh these so-called ulcers or like these problem irritable
01:28:47.740 bowel syndrome like these things come along with like anxiety well i mean even your gut health
01:28:53.260 in general it could affect the way your brain is thinking what if he's saying hey chill out dude
01:28:58.060 chill out have a little wine yeah for your anxiety sake for your stomach's sake relax man
01:29:03.740 i'm not i'm not saying that's for everybody like alcohol is a lot different in other cultures than
01:29:09.080 it is in america but there's could be an element where he's saying chill out man have a little wine
01:29:13.900 for your anxiety sake there is a time where you know sit back you drink some wine and you chill
01:29:19.120 you're with your family yeah what it does is it makes you a little more vulnerable so don't do
01:29:23.000 that with people you can't be vulnerable with but if you're with your family and you love them and
01:29:26.680 maybe some things you could get out of your heart that you've been thinking but you haven't been
01:29:30.220 saying time and place alcohol is a weird thing but it's good in like small amounts yeah yeah you
01:29:35.400 start to go off the rails and it's just very dangerous but i but money i think is way more
01:29:39.540 dangerous than alcohol and i don't know anybody in the church who says you can't get a paycheck
01:29:43.840 you're no more getting a paycheck you have to have no money but sometimes people say you can't
01:29:48.620 have any alcohol you know it's like i i don't know man i'd say i'd say money's more dangerous
01:29:53.140 than alcohol in american church circles it is anyway but i'm not a stranger to the dangers of
01:29:57.820 alcohol i'm just saying it's interesting that paul told him like that but anyway when i call to
01:30:02.700 remembrance the unfeigned faith okay hold on he says greatly desiring to see thee being mindful
01:30:06.860 of thy tears that i may be filled with joy when i call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is
01:30:11.780 in thee which dwelt first in thy grandmother lois and thy mother eunice and i am persuaded that in
01:30:17.460 thee also uh actually damian brought this up this morning too what does raven always talk about the
01:30:23.740 iniquity from your bloodline yeah generational and generational iniquity and i was telling
01:30:30.680 damien like bro you're with the lord it doesn't everybody's got generational iniquity like there's
01:30:34.840 nobody that doesn't have generational iniquity well i've got it worse than other people maybe
01:30:38.740 maybe but the solution is the same like you go to christ you get the spiritual blood transfusion
01:30:43.260 but see what this is saying when i call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee
01:30:48.080 which dwelt first in your grandma and your mom and i'm persuaded it's in you so it's the opposite
01:30:54.380 of that generational iniquity it's the opposite it's this faith that's been passed down this
01:30:59.680 generational blessing james williams was talking to us about this uh on like previous episode of
01:31:04.760 nephron death squad it's like the blessings that are passed down from your ancestors you could
01:31:09.740 pass down bad stuff if you you know not if you want but that that can be passed down but these
01:31:14.880 kind of strong these these faith altars can also be passed down and built upon amen yeah amen
01:31:21.680 wherefore i put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of god which is in you by the putting
01:31:26.480 on of my hands so there was some gift that got put in timothy by the putting on of paul's hands
01:31:33.060 but he doesn't say that's the end of it he says you got to stir this up dude don't let it go
01:31:38.320 dormant like yeah i put a gift inside you but you can't let it go dormant you got to use it man
01:31:43.820 Use it or lose it, Timothy.
01:31:46.160 Wherefore, I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.
01:31:53.280 That's what Paul says.
01:31:54.100 So the gift of God is already in him, and Paul just kind of like helps him realize the potential or helps him to bring it out by putting hands on him.
01:32:05.400 Is that what he's saying here?
01:32:06.740 That's not what he said.
01:32:08.360 What did he say?
01:32:09.260 He said, wherefore, I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.
01:32:15.760 By the putting on.
01:32:17.360 So he's actually giving.
01:32:19.120 But then he's also mentioning whatever was given to him by his mother and his grandmother.
01:32:25.060 Yeah, fair point.
01:32:26.380 Yeah.
01:32:27.000 If the gift is faith, like a peculiar kind of faith, if you will.
01:32:31.620 Yeah, it's like the putting hands on, like the awakening of, like the bringing forth the potential that's there.
01:32:36.320 It's not worded like that, but it could be.
01:32:37.740 Right.
01:32:38.780 yeah but either way dude there's this interesting thing that like there's a gift that's not active
01:32:44.420 the putting on of hands now it's active whether he put it in or it was in there and inactive and
01:32:49.140 he activated it i don't know but like this is bible stuff man this isn't just for like uh
01:32:55.020 like the extremes of christianity for the weird people like in the so-called spirit-filled churches
01:33:00.340 like this is the bible because like this is talking about this in the bible yeah wherefore
01:33:06.620 I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God. But I think that's the bigger thing
01:33:10.200 here is like, stir up the gift of God. Like don't let what's in you go dormant. What did G. Kim
01:33:16.220 Morgan say? He said, man, if I wasn't preparing sermons, I think I'd be backslidden by now.
01:33:20.960 I remember I was like terrified when I heard him say that, but I think he was saying that,
01:33:25.740 like if you're not stirring up this gift in you and using it, it's just going to go dormant.
01:33:29.960 why because god has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind
01:33:38.760 right remember our context today i know we take a lot of rabbit trails but it's anxiety
01:33:43.380 right talking about anxiety and so god has not given us the spirit of fear but of power love
01:33:50.780 and a sound mind what did you title this one today the solution to anxiety that's it that's it
01:33:56.740 okay, that's actually perfect. Cause I'm not going to go into the next section,
01:34:00.600 which was the original title had something else in it, but it's like worked out perfect that you've
01:34:06.360 ended it with the solution to anxiety. So we won't have the rest of that. No, no, no. I'm
01:34:10.720 going to finish what I'm doing right now, but this will be the last passage. And then we'll just,
01:34:14.660 we'll just roll out after that. Okay. For God has not given us the spirit of fear,
01:34:21.180 but of power, love, and a sound mind. See how that's just the exact opposite of anxiety.
01:34:26.060 He's given us power, love, and a sound mind.
01:34:32.220 That's the opposite of anxiety, man.
01:34:34.140 God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
01:34:40.460 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but be
01:34:46.700 a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel.
01:34:48.980 who has sorry be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of god who
01:34:57.860 has saved us and called us with a holy calling not according to our works but according to his
01:35:03.720 own purpose and grace which was given us in christ jesus before the world began can can you explain
01:35:10.560 to me what uh so uh be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our lord and also what does
01:35:19.760 he mean by uh his prisoner and also what does he mean by the afflictions yeah of the gospel okay
01:35:28.400 he's saying don't be ashamed of the testimony of jesus because i'd imagine in those circles
01:35:34.960 especially among the jews you know they were kind of having to be secret about their love of christ
01:35:41.120 because maybe they're going to get kicked out of the synagogue right they're going to get kicked
01:35:43.920 out of those groups in jail yeah like that like that he's saying hey don't be ashamed of the
01:35:48.320 testimony of jesus stand firm timothy come on man like you're you're another link in the chain dude
01:35:53.520 if it breaks with you the whole chain's screwed like stand firm dude we haven't been given the
01:35:58.240 spirit of fear but power love and a sound mind don't be ashamed of the testimony of jesus
01:36:03.200 I'll jump to but be a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel yeah don't don't shy away from this
01:36:10.740 don't shrink away from this Timothy like be a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel because
01:36:15.220 that's what's going to happen when you present the testimony of Jesus don't be ashamed of it
01:36:21.320 to shrink away from the afflictions of the gospel don't do that the afflictions of the gospel are
01:36:26.060 coming no matter what time period you live in and it may be on a greater or lesser scale depending
01:36:30.400 on what time period and what geographic location, but it's coming, man. The afflictions of the
01:36:34.940 gospel are going to happen. You're going to suffer loss for your love of Jesus and your testimony,
01:36:39.700 right? And he says, nor of me, his prisoner. He says, I'm a prisoner. I'm his prisoner. How many
01:36:45.320 times was Paul locked up where like, if Paul didn't have this testimony of Jesus, he'd just
01:36:49.780 be riding high, doing his thing, having a good old time. But Paul's constantly in jail. He's
01:36:54.340 writing all these letters from prison ultimately the book of acts ends with him in rome uh he's
01:37:01.900 on like house arrest like with the ankle bracelet he's you know they leave him there like he like
01:37:06.620 he's constantly he's constantly a prisoner because of jesus christ man so he's saying don't don't be
01:37:14.000 ashamed don't be ashamed of this testimony and yeah let's look at it again and don't be ashamed
01:37:18.840 of me either don't be embarrassed to me look be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our lord
01:37:24.200 and don't be ashamed of me either
01:37:26.060 that you're affiliation with me.
01:37:28.180 You know, maybe he's shrinking away from that
01:37:29.680 saying, oh man, if everybody knows
01:37:31.420 I'm affiliated with Paul,
01:37:32.600 I'm going to suffer many afflictions
01:37:34.500 of the gospel because of that.
01:37:36.420 You know what I'm saying?
01:37:36.920 He said, no, no, no, man, stand firm, stand firm.
01:37:40.880 And then he rolls right into verse nine.
01:37:44.560 He says, be a partaker of the afflictions
01:37:48.000 of the gospel according to the power of God.
01:37:50.560 so be a partaker according to the power of god like you can partake of these afflictions
01:37:56.420 because you have the power of god take on those afflictions you have the power of god and just
01:38:01.280 keep in mind that god who has saved us and called us with a holy calling not according to our works
01:38:07.700 so this isn't on you timothy like if you say oh i don't have that great of an education or i don't
01:38:12.100 have that great of an intellect or i just don't have anything i'm not like a great man in society
01:38:16.220 He says, yeah, no problem. Doesn't matter. Because he called us with a holy calling, not according to our works.
01:38:21.580 Doesn't have anything to do with you or like your position or how smart you are or whatever other things you have.
01:38:27.160 It's not according to that. But according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
01:38:36.360 So now we're back at this thing where it's like God didn't get caught off guard by this.
01:38:39.960 Like he created a destiny for me before the world began.
01:38:44.340 So like that verse nine is the perspective of one who has power, love, and a sound mind.
01:38:48.720 Like I have power, love, and a sound mind because God saved us and called us with a
01:38:53.580 holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace, which
01:38:57.700 has given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
01:39:00.820 So before the world began, God had a destiny for me, like a plan or a path or a destination.
01:39:07.240 That's why I have power, love, and a sound mind.
01:39:10.400 That's why I don't have anxiety.
01:39:12.200 That's why I shouldn't have anxiety.
01:39:13.540 This is what we were unpacking last week because these verses go hand in hand.
01:39:16.440 The Romans 8, 28, it goes, all things work together for good to those who love God and
01:39:21.180 are called according to his purpose.
01:39:23.320 Same thing.
01:39:24.040 That's why we don't have anxiety.
01:39:25.520 My life's in his hands.
01:39:27.480 God has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according
01:39:31.280 to his own purpose.
01:39:32.980 There it is again.
01:39:33.820 And grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
01:39:37.500 I'm just a guy on the team.
01:39:39.440 Like I report directly to the king.
01:39:41.260 He does whatever he wants with my life.
01:39:43.540 So there's no anxiety for me.
01:39:45.740 I'm with him.
01:39:47.540 He's guiding my life.
01:39:48.780 I'm just trying to hear his voice and obey.
01:39:51.280 That takes like, it's like when Jess says she likes to be a helper in the marriage.
01:39:56.380 She's like, yeah, it's not like everything's not on my plate.
01:39:58.980 Like it's not all my responsibility.
01:40:00.540 Ultimately, it falls on you.
01:40:01.760 And I go, yeah, sweetie, I get it because that's how I feel towards God.
01:40:05.520 It's exactly how I feel.
01:40:06.740 I go, God, well, if this whole thing goes up in flames, like that's on you.
01:40:09.640 I'm not the one responsible for this.
01:40:12.480 You know what I'm saying?
01:40:13.540 So, um, that's why I seek him, right? That's what I spend my life doing is, is seeking God,
01:40:19.320 right? Like my life is the story of me and God. That's what it is. It's like,
01:40:24.200 oh, you have a destiny for me before the world began. I'm going to spend my life seeking you,
01:40:29.460 understanding that destiny and trying to be on board with it and fulfilling that destiny
01:40:33.960 that you made me for. And that's why my life is the story of me and God. Like everything else
01:40:38.900 is just details. Let's wrap it up.
01:40:43.540 We'll be right back.
