00:01:11.700 Welcome back to another episode of Straight Bible.
00:01:14.120 This is Sermon on the Mount, episode 27.
00:01:16.340 We're in Matthew 6, 24.
00:01:18.120 No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other,
00:01:21.940 or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. 0.88
00:01:24.940 You cannot serve God and mammon. 0.99
00:01:26.640 So you're listening to that.
00:01:27.700 You're saying, we already did that last week.
00:01:29.480 We did that the last three weeks.
00:01:31.000 But this is the hinge between this section that we just did,
00:01:34.420 19 through 24, where it's talking about like abundance, right?
00:01:37.540 Don't be covetous for abundance
00:01:39.220 because no man can serve two masters.
00:01:41.820 Now we're going to finish the rest of this chapter six
00:01:44.040 all the way through 34.
00:01:45.680 And it's the same topic.
00:01:46.800 It's like a hinge, right?
00:01:47.940 This 24 is a hinge where on one side of the door
00:01:50.540 is uh don't be covetous for abundance and the other side of the door is don't be anxious for
00:01:56.620 your necessities right because there's a difference between abundance and necessities
00:01:59.900 and this section kind of unpacks the necessities all right so if you're not familiar with straight
00:02:04.200 bible you can find us on um all the things it's matt and top lobster youtube uh spotify
00:02:11.760 um apple music spreaker sub stack sub stack all your articles are going on sub stack right now
00:02:19.380 So go over there, show some love.
00:02:21.760 What about toplobster.com for new merch?
00:02:24.680 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:02:25.780 There's all those things.
00:02:26.660 I'm just saying those are all the places to find it.
00:02:28.480 I'm trying to like remember to say that.
00:02:30.760 Yeah.
00:02:31.060 But if you're wondering what straight Bible is,
00:02:32.980 it's Matt Heppner and Top Lobster, 0.81
00:02:34.980 and we preach the gospel the most offensive way possible.
00:02:37.520 We don't do it on purpose.
00:02:38.560 It's just like we use great plainness of speech.
00:02:40.900 And typically when you use great plainness of speech,
00:02:43.640 for whatever reason, that's like the most offensive for people.
00:02:46.840 When you say what you mean?
00:02:47.900 yeah well just plainness like like even imagine if you say that human was born with a wiener
00:02:53.220 that's a boy right and then people are like no there's no absolutes right like there's no
00:02:58.020 yeah how dare you you know it's whatever i think it is so when you use like plainness of speech
00:03:02.320 you're automatically gonna cause a bit of a divide i think because there's gonna be people
00:03:07.180 who they they understand clearly what you're saying and now they're gonna be on this side
00:03:11.380 of that or they're gonna be on that side of that so we don't really try to be offensive we just i
00:03:14.780 think we just use like great plainness of speech. We came here to divide. Okay, let's roll with it
00:03:21.180 before Top gets off the rails, even though that's always fun. No man can serve two masters, for
00:03:26.640 either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the
00:03:31.200 other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore, I say unto you, take no thought for your life.
00:03:36.800 Okay, before this goes off the rails, we have to make sure. Some would say that's not a wonderful
00:03:43.000 translation. But if you look up that word, take no thought, what it, what it means is take no
00:03:49.000 anxiety. Don't, don't be anxious is what it's not. It's definitely not saying take no thought.
00:03:54.020 Cause as we unpack this, it's not saying throw it away. Yeah. It's well, it's not saying like,
00:03:58.840 just sit on your porch and wait for life to happen. It's not saying that. And then he's
00:04:02.260 going to give us examples. So you kind of got to know that I want to get that clear up front first
00:04:07.680 before this goes off the rails with people where they're like, Oh, Christianity means just chill
00:04:11.220 your porch and like wait for things to happen it's definitely not saying that it's not pre-trib rapture
00:04:16.820 um i don't know therefore i say unto you don't be anxious for your life what you shall eat or
00:04:23.300 what you shall drink nor yet for your body what you shall put on is not the life more than meat
00:04:28.340 and the body more than raiment behold the fowls of the air for they sow not neither do they reap
00:04:33.700 nor gather into barns yet your heavenly father feeds them are you not much better than they
00:04:38.980 Which of you, by taking thought, can add one cubit unto his stature?
00:04:42.540 And why take you thought for raiment?
00:04:44.260 Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow.
00:04:46.260 They toil not, neither do they spin.
00:04:48.400 And yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
00:04:52.640 Wherefore, if God so clothed the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven,
00:04:57.440 shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
00:05:00.520 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or wherewithal shall we be clothed? 0.96
00:05:05.680 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek, those who don't know God.
00:05:09.900 For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
00:05:13.340 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
00:05:18.360 Take therefore no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
00:05:23.880 Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
00:05:26.520 All right, so we talk about that transition.
00:05:30.120 It's going from not being covetous over like luxuries and abundance,
00:05:34.560 And now it's transitioning into, uh, don't be anxious about your basic needs.
00:05:39.020 Right.
00:05:39.540 And it's, it's saying, don't be anxious.
00:05:41.360 It's not saying don't take any thought because he definitely pulls in this concept of thinking
00:05:45.380 about it.
00:05:45.940 He he's definitely saying, but seek, but seek the kingdom of God.
00:05:49.780 So he's not saying like, don't think he's saying, think about deeper things, right?
00:05:54.920 Think on a deeper level, seek the eternal.
00:05:57.880 So, uh, so yeah, if we look at that, take no thought, it's the Greek word, uh, merim
00:06:02.800 Merimneo, Merimneo, and it means to be anxious about.
00:06:06.320 If we can pull up Philippians 4, 6, I think this gives it a clearer understanding of this
00:06:13.060 word.
00:06:14.020 In Philippians 4, 6, it says, be careful for nothing.
00:06:17.140 And that same word, careful, is that same word here where it says thought, where it
00:06:21.060 says take no thought, right?
00:06:22.260 Be careful for nothing.
00:06:23.900 So it's saying be anxious for nothing.
00:06:26.180 I love this passage because it kind of tells you these are your two options.
00:06:29.980 These are your two options.
00:06:30.680 be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
00:06:35.480 your requests be made known unto god so those are your two options you know like when you used to
00:06:39.460 hear people talk about smoking weed and becoming paranoid some people would say well there you
00:06:43.720 whatever that thing is you're paranoid about you got to deal with it you know or like if you have
00:06:47.500 stress in your life like some people go oh you're stressed it's like okay but stress is a good thing
00:06:51.520 but you got to correct it right there that stress is there for a reason so that you'll correct it
00:06:56.220 that anxiety happens to us for a reason. And if you just ignore it or you just take like the pills
00:07:01.240 or whatever, you just try to pretend like it's not there. Your life just goes off the rails,
00:07:05.760 but it's telling you the answer to that. Don't be anxious. But the opposite is pray, right?
00:07:10.780 It's just like in Luke 18 one. Do we have that? I don't know if I had that. You've got you've got
00:07:16.700 two options, right? You've got anxious or pray. So like when you have that anxiety, you got to go
00:07:21.940 to God and make your requests known with thanksgiving. Look, he spake a parable unto them
00:07:27.340 to this end that men ought always to pray and not faint. Like those are the two options,
00:07:31.440 pray or faint. Pray or be anxious. That anxiety should be getting you to do a thing and it should
00:07:37.840 be seeking God, right? So don't be anxious. If we look at Matthew 16, 24 through 27, Jesus says the
00:07:46.900 same thing but he says it another way right uh which is which is a lot of the bible um
00:07:54.580 things get said and then they get it's kind of the same concept but it's explained in a
00:07:58.580 different way and jesus said unto his disciples if any man will come after me let him deny himself
00:08:05.140 and take up his cross and follow me for whosoever will save his life shall lose it and whosoever
00:08:10.500 will lose his life for my sake shall find it for what is a man profited if he gained the whole
00:08:15.620 world and lose his own soul so that statement right there is like seek first the kingdom of
00:08:19.700 god and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you this whole concept
00:08:23.800 of uh you're not what are you profited to gain all these things anyway what so what do you mean
00:08:30.060 you're anxious to get all these things you could gain the whole world and lose your soul so what's
00:08:34.580 what's the point in that um uh for what does a man profit if he shall gain the whole world and
00:08:40.400 lose his own soul or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul we're going to key in on
00:08:44.740 that, he's going to give his whole life. For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of his Father
00:08:48.860 with his angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works. So in a moment, all
00:08:54.080 those things in the temporary realm that you've spent all your time worrying about will mean
00:08:57.880 nothing. He's just saying, keep that in mind, man. In a moment, he's coming back. It's going to
00:09:03.220 happen suddenly. And in a moment, all those things that you've been thinking about in the temporary
00:09:07.840 realm will be meaningless in a moment. It's not even just that he's coming back, but you might
00:09:13.800 be going to him. True. Which is more likely for most people in the world, you know, like that
00:09:19.340 have experienced life. Yeah, you're right. You're right. Like eternity is at the doorstep for all
00:09:25.000 of us, man. So just keep that in mind. It's not saying don't do anything and sit on your porch
00:09:30.040 and, you know, wait around. Like we see, he gives us the example of the birds. Birds don't just sit
00:09:34.300 around and wait for worms to fall out of the sky. Right. So they're getting it. Yeah. So he's not
00:09:38.580 saying, you know, do nothing, but it's like, keep this context, man. Keep eternity in mind. But he
00:09:43.560 also says in the same breath that they want for nothing but they're after it like they're always
00:09:48.560 after you see a bird they're always hunting but they want for nothing that's faith they know
00:09:52.600 they're gonna get it they're not they're not out there scrap dude watch birds bro but be a bird
00:09:58.480 watcher like like they're never like birds are never just chilling dude you know what i'm saying
00:10:03.560 yeah so we got wild turkeys on the other side of the fence at the house we got the chickens
00:10:07.280 obviously i got these giant woodpeckers we got like finches cardinal like they're none of them
00:10:12.200 are ever just chilling yeah they're always looking moving but they know they're gonna get something
00:10:17.000 they that's faith faith isn't like oh i'm gonna sit around and wait for a worm to fall out of the
00:10:21.380 sky faith is like i'm gonna dig and i know there's gonna be something if i keep digging
00:10:25.320 all right so one corinthians uh 15 50 through 54 says uh brings i think this really puts it in
00:10:33.540 context to the suddenness of like the end right now this i say brethren that flesh and blood
00:10:41.080 cannot inherit the kingdom of God. So just keep that in mind, man. All the stuff in the temporary
00:10:45.040 realm, that doesn't inherit the kingdom of God. Neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
00:10:50.500 Behold, I show you a mystery, because that's what real preachers do. We shall not all sleep,
00:10:55.420 but we shall all be changed. In a moment, I like that word, in a moment, in the twinkling of an
00:11:01.620 eye, that's a cool word too, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall
00:11:06.900 be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop

00:14:10.580 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
00:14:15.280 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality,
00:14:20.060 then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.
00:14:24.400 So the whole death thing is going to come to an end, dude.
00:14:26.900 And so everything on this side, all the stuff in the temporary realm that a lot of us become anxious about will mean nothing.
00:14:34.600 So just keep that in mind. It doesn't mean don't hustle. It doesn't mean don't work. It means don't be anxious. All that's going to come to nothing. Seek God and he'll take care of that. That's a real word. That's a real word. It's like, seek God. He'll take care of the details. A lot of people don't necessarily live by that, right? They're very, you know, stressing and anxiety over, like, I just remember being in Bible studies about, like, where their kid was going to go to college, what job their kid was going to get, like, how much money they were going to have, like, like all these things.
00:15:03.340 and I think a lot of people thought I was stupid
00:15:05.360 in Bible study because I was like, yeah, no, I just read 0.99
00:15:07.300 the Bible to my kids and make sure they know God.
00:15:10.420 He'll work out the
00:15:11.300 details of everything else.
00:15:13.180 But that's what the scripture teaches.
00:15:17.840 Man,
00:15:18.560 as I was visiting my aunt
00:15:21.400 when she was
00:15:23.260 still conscious,
00:15:25.220 we did the fundraiser for her and thank you
00:15:27.260 for everyone who donated.
00:15:29.000 I guess she was aware of it, but I hadn't spoken to her about it
00:15:31.280 because it's not something that I'm going to worry someone
00:15:33.180 who's sick with right um but so she has the oxygen mask on and i'm i'm talking to her and she's she's
00:15:40.220 saying whatever she came back to me and she goes we have to make sure that we get the money to uncle
00:15:45.820 nelson and i'm just like don't worry about it what are you talking yeah i'm like what are you talking
00:15:49.900 about yeah like that's where your mind don't like that's not where your mind should be at especially
00:15:55.020 now and i'm just like man it's it's painful to uh see somebody dealing with something you're
00:16:04.380 dealing with your mortal life on the cusp of immortality and you're worried about this thing
00:16:11.500 i'm like who cares i told the straightest who cares about this this is nothing yeah just like
00:16:16.540 worry about you worry about the family worry about what's happening right now worry about your soul
00:16:22.380 don't worry about this thing and uh i don't know it's a hard word man it was yeah it was hard it
00:16:29.340 was hard uh but how much is god looking at every one of us and saying the same thing man i listen
00:16:34.460 i do it all the time we do we all do it all the time but like we get caught up in these weird
00:16:38.540 finite moments and i get it i get you know i understand her mindset is her her family she
00:16:43.660 wants to help her family but i'm just like yeah and you live in america and it's a grind and it
00:16:48.700 it takes so much money to be alive and so it's probably very natural to say i just want to make
00:16:52.400 sure my loved ones are taken care of when i go yeah i get it i get it man but i think that's why
00:16:58.200 this is saying like ahead of time during your whole life just seek god seek his kingdom he'll
00:17:04.400 take care of that he'll take care of it during your life he'll take care of it on your deathbed
00:17:07.880 you got to seek him yeah that's rough man she's okay now she's just kind of chilling and is she
00:17:15.920 at home or is she in the no she's in the hospital still uh i don't know i'll talk so we'll talk
00:17:21.040 about it after okay all right we're in romans 8 31 all right all right this is what we can expect
00:17:28.420 when we serve god and seek his kingdom romans 8 starting in verse 31 what shall we then say to
00:17:35.060 these things if god be for us who can be against us this is a this is this whole thing is like the
00:17:40.120 fight's fixed man god's in charge of everything and furthermore in this passage it's saying he's
00:17:45.040 our father. That's the context. He's our father. He cares for us. What shall we say then to these
00:17:51.540 things? If God be for us, who can be against us? The fight's fixed. He that spared not his own son,
00:17:57.700 but delivered him up for us, for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
00:18:05.960 For us, for us, give us, like that's his heart. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's
00:18:11.560 elect. And it's God that justifies. Who is he that condemns? It's Christ that died. Yeah,
00:18:16.020 rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession
00:18:20.620 for us. So God, the father loves to care for us. Jesus is at the right hand of the father
00:18:26.780 interceding for us. I don't think it says it here, but the Holy Spirit's on earth interceding
00:18:31.440 for us, living inside of us. It's like, just get on this team, get on this team. And all
00:18:36.560 this stuff in the natural realm will take care of itself. Who shall separate us from
00:18:40.240 the love of christ shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril
00:18:45.600 or sword as it is written for thy sake we are killed all the day long we are accounted as sheep
00:18:50.140 for the slaughter nay and all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us
00:18:54.820 it's like we read about abraham last week like he goes in to capture a lot but he's more than
00:19:00.580 a conqueror he goes in he captures a lot he comes out with all the spoil too more than a conqueror
00:19:05.620 oh this is this hard thing i gotta face well i'll go face it and i'm gonna come out with more than
00:19:09.380 I went in with more than a conqueror for I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels
00:19:15.420 nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any
00:19:19.980 other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
00:19:25.080 so that's what we can expect we can expect that from God let's look at Luke 20 this is going to
00:19:33.880 be 19 through 26 and this is um i just think that like we kind of want to get into like the right
00:19:41.720 response knowing these things luke 20 19 through 26 and the chief priests and the scribes the same
00:19:52.680 hour sought to lay hands on him and they feared the people for they perceived that he had spoken
00:19:57.080 this parable against them okay yeah so the chief priests and scribes the same hour sought to lay
00:20:01.160 hands on jesus they feared the people they never fear god they've got a monopoly on on god they've
00:20:06.420 got a monopoly on the on the religious system of their day so they don't fear god they just fear
00:20:10.780 the people because that's who they're controlling right they control the people through this man-made
00:20:14.460 religion but they had perceived that he spoke this parable against them which is terrifying we don't
00:20:20.320 we don't have to get into it but it's a parable of the vineyard right before yeah where uh there's a
00:20:24.740 there's a master an owner of a vineyard he sends servants they kill the first servant he says okay
00:20:29.720 i'll send another servant they kill them send the son sends his son they know it's his son
00:20:34.800 that's what's wild about this passage dude that's what's very wild about this parable so 0.92
00:20:40.480 is jesus saying then that like they they actually know the scribes the pharisee they know
00:20:46.080 that this is that he's the son of god is that what he's actually that's the accusation that's
00:20:51.200 that's my thought dude yeah i really think that now i don't i don't know when i started to think
00:20:55.140 that. But at some point I started to think like, dude, they knew it was him, but we're right back
00:20:59.980 to this temporary realm, eternal realm mindset. They're like, dude, we have all we want right
00:21:04.780 here. We own religion. Like we own everybody. Like we own the whole nation. And we're even 0.53
00:21:10.840 making deals with the Roman government. Like we, like we have complete control of everything here.
00:21:16.080 Even if that is God yet, he's not taking our system from us. But we think that's crazy,
00:21:21.460 But like, didn't fallen angels do that?
00:21:23.800 Hasn't there been rebellions before?
00:21:25.240 Maybe Tower of Babel type of stuff like where people know, but they just I mean, don't humans
00:21:30.460 just do that?
00:21:31.260 They know that they're supposed to belong to God and they love their sin life.
00:21:34.880 They love their own life and they don't submit to God.
00:21:37.680 So I don't know.
00:21:38.340 Is is that any different from anybody else?
00:21:40.400 They had such this lock on society and on life and they had wealth and they had this
00:21:45.920 great life, if you will, because of it, because they had a monopoly on the religious system.
00:21:50.200 So even if it was God, they don't care.
00:21:52.640 They're not giving up their system.
00:21:54.040 That's mammon, right?
00:21:55.000 It's crazy, man.
00:21:56.880 Okay, so that's the context.
00:21:57.980 And they watched him, and they sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words.
00:22:04.280 So they were fakers. 0.99
00:22:05.020 They were hypocrites. 0.99
00:22:05.820 They were pretending that they were just men, but it was just so that they might take hold of his words. 0.97
00:22:12.020 That's why I don't like that.
00:22:13.000 I don't like debate culture.
00:22:14.060 They try to take a hold of your words and, like, twist it and, you know, make their point, like, take a hold of yours.
00:22:18.560 It's like, no, no, let's just hear each other.
00:22:19.920 That's why people get offended when you speak plainly.
00:22:22.160 Yeah, let's just hear each other.
00:22:23.780 Let's just talk and let's hear each other.
00:22:26.640 That they might take hold of his words
00:22:28.300 so they might deliver him under the power
00:22:30.660 and authority of the governor.
00:22:32.640 And they asked him, say,
00:22:33.760 Master, we know that you say and teach rightly,
00:22:36.500 neither accept the person of any,
00:22:38.940 but teach the way of God truly.
00:22:40.900 So they opened by butt kissing.
00:22:43.460 Isn't that wild?
00:22:44.500 Like that's their opening 0.99
00:22:45.300 is they just ass kiss him
00:22:46.560 to try to like get this conversation going is it lawful for us to give tribute unto caesar
00:22:52.120 you know what's wild about this story is they accuse is it um i think i have a note here
00:22:56.940 actually i think it's 23 2 when they bring them before uh pilot maybe they say
00:23:03.920 they say uh the whole multitude of them arose yeah led them unto pilot and they began to accuse
00:23:10.900 jesus saying we found this fellow perverting the nation and forbidding to give tribute to caesar
00:23:15.000 so they so even though we know this story he says yeah give the caesar what caesar's
00:23:19.600 he's still accusing him he's still just straight up lie and say yeah he's told everybody not to
00:23:23.900 give uh tribute to caesar is it lawful for us to give tribute on the caesar no but he perceived
00:23:30.400 their craftiness and said unto them why tempt you me show me a penny show me the money wasn't that
00:23:36.480 uh that movie they said show me the money whose image and superscription hath it this is big dude
00:23:43.140 whose image and superscription hath it?
00:23:45.700 They answered and said, Caesar's.
00:23:48.480 And he said unto them,
00:23:50.040 render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's
00:23:53.140 and unto God the things which be God's.
00:23:56.000 So whose image and superscription is on the money?
00:24:00.960 Caesar.
00:24:01.580 He says, okay, the money belongs to Caesar.
00:24:04.600 Whose image and superscription is on man?
00:24:09.000 God.
00:24:10.040 Man is made in the image and likeness of God.
00:24:12.840 Give to God what's God's.
00:24:14.280 So this is a wild statement he's making.
00:24:16.660 He's saying, okay, the money belongs to Caesar,
00:24:18.500 give it to Caesar.
00:24:19.680 The souls belong to me.
00:24:21.360 What belongs to God, give to God.

00:26:21.340 A message from QP2484.
00:26:23.940 Watch this, Ezekiel 18.4.
00:26:26.040 This is exactly what it says.
00:26:29.360 I just think this really kind of puts things in context, man.
00:26:33.200 When you come to terms with like, what belongs to God, behold, all souls are mine.
00:26:39.920 i don't think a lot of people know god says that as the soul of the father so also the soul the
00:26:45.440 son is mine the soul that sins it shall die so that so the context of that is they're arguing
00:26:50.640 in ezekiel about um the sins of the father uh the the son having to pay for the sins of the father
00:26:56.720 right and he's making this point all souls are mine each individual has to give an account for
00:27:02.260 itself like when we argue a lot about who's which denominations right which one's this which one's
00:27:07.120 that? Who makes the final say so? Like every soul will answer to God. Every soul will answer to God
00:27:13.120 because all souls belong to God. Uh, I like this passage in Exodus 32, 30 with the dude, Moses,
00:27:20.080 cause the same topic comes up, man. This is a wild, this is like one of the most wild passages
00:27:29.800 in all of the scripture. And it came to pass on the morrow that Moses said to the people,
00:27:33.320 you have sinned a great sin and now i will go up to the lord for adventure i shall make an
00:27:38.600 atonement for your sin this is wild this is wild why he's like a type of christ dude like what like
00:27:43.000 what do you mean you're going to make an atonement so he's going to intercede yeah and moses returned
00:27:47.800 under the lord yeah but it's way more than just interceding or way more than what we would think
00:27:51.960 of as like atonement moses returned under the lord and said oh this people have sent a great
00:27:56.680 sin and have made them gods of gold gods of money right it's it's interesting that the gold is tied
00:28:03.080 into it. Gold is money. Like we have like fiat currency now, right? They have a money machine.
00:28:08.460 Like in that day, they had like actual money. It was gold. And they took that and they made a false
00:28:13.700 God out of it. Like in the same way, Americans use their money and make false gods, whether it's 0.69
00:28:19.660 their home or their net worth or their stock, whatever it may be. And Moses returned to the 0.65
00:28:24.880 Lord and said, oh, this people have sinned a great sin and made them gods of gold.
00:28:28.040 yet now if you will forgive their sin and if not blot me i pray thee out of thy book
00:28:36.400 which thou has written this is too crazy this is way too crazy
00:28:43.020 and the lord said unto moses whosoever whosoever has sinned against me him will i blot out of my
00:28:49.700 book so so he's saying the same thing to moses like all souls are mine no moses you can't do
00:28:56.360 that but like what like what is that if we look at revelation 20 like this is just a staggering
00:29:02.280 thing to me i don't think we know anything like remotely close to that experience but um it's
00:29:07.960 just like did moses spend so much time with god that he became like god like he just cultivated
00:29:14.120 the heart of jesus like like not like not even knowing it just he just spent so much time with
00:29:19.240 god and then all of a sudden he's saying like blot me out of the book of life that's what uh
00:29:24.840 james williams was talking about with ed that again that referencing that episode haven't finished
00:29:29.400 all of it yet i'm like over an hour through but like when he's talking about making this covenant
00:29:33.800 with god he's talking about the consequences of breaking it but he's like the covenant part of it
00:29:38.120 the promise that he's made is like all right i have to spend an hour in prayer i have to spend
00:29:42.360 three hours in prayer i have to spend four hours in prayer every day whatever i think he said he
00:29:47.560 tithes so 10 of his day two hours and 40 minutes is that what that is yeah something like three
00:29:52.920 hours 10 of his day is given to to god praying and he's like and the more you do that the harder it
00:29:59.580 is to break this not the harder is to break the covenant but the easier it is to recognize when
00:30:04.300 a temptation comes to break it because you're becoming more like god amen you're like walking
00:30:09.100 with him talking with him more it's harder to step away from it so when talking about moses here
00:30:14.640 he's talking directly to god and he becomes like him yeah because even right after that when he
00:30:20.120 comes or maybe right before that he comes off the mountain you know because the commentaries
00:30:24.600 you know the scribes of our day will say moses had an anger problem right like he came down the
00:30:29.120 he killed a man but in that one stephen says he thought that the children of israel knew his
00:30:33.420 destiny knew that he was their savior to bring him out that wasn't an anger thing he just jumped
00:30:37.640 the gun on god by 40 years and then when he comes down and breaks the two tables of stone the ten
00:30:42.180 commandments yeah right before that says god's angry it's like he's with god god's angry now
00:30:48.160 he's angry like like this is what happens you spend time with god you start to become like god
00:30:52.640 you start to think like god you start to cultivate like his character in his heart you start to look
00:30:57.080 at things the way he looks at things the things that make god angry makes you angry the things
00:31:01.980 that makes god happy makes you happy like that's you as you spend time with him that's what happens
00:31:06.340 man but he but that's what i'm saying it's like it's staggering that he like i don't even know
00:31:12.300 like you just look at that you go what do you mean he said just blot me out of the book of life to
00:31:16.000 save them that's that's crazy especially who they were to him but yeah that's that's like that's
00:31:24.020 like a great type of christ man even when we were his enemies he died for us man okay revelation 20
00:31:28.960 verse 11 says this because i just want to make this point about the book of life i saw the whole
00:31:33.780 episode is a rabbit trail so oh yeah i noticed when i'm doing the notes okay i saw a great white
00:31:38.900 throne and him that sat on it from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away and there was found
00:31:42.720 no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books, plural,
00:31:47.660 were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life, singular. And the dead were
00:31:52.420 judged out of those things, which were written in the books, plural, according to their works.
00:31:57.020 And the sea gave up the dead, which were in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead,
00:32:00.960 which were in them. And they were judged, every man according to their works. And death and hell
00:32:05.100 were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written
00:32:09.740 in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire i don't know how many books there are but
00:32:14.680 like it looks like when the book is spoken of singular it's the book of life there's books
00:32:20.960 plural and like the dead are all judged out of those books plural but there's one book singular
00:32:25.300 the book of life and your name has to be in the book of life and moses says you can just blot me
00:32:30.120 out of that book for for their sins i'm willing to do that that's correct like i don't think that
00:32:35.560 happens unless like god's inside you i don't that's that's a wild thing man all right so we're
00:32:41.880 just going to keep rolling with these ezekiel well i got a question that gives uh these scriptures
00:32:46.580 kind of give another uh not another meaning but like make you take a second look at the idea of
00:32:51.680 selling your soul right yeah like how could you do that you don't even own it i can't sell if if
00:32:58.240 i don't own my house i can't sell your house so how how does that work well i don't my life is
00:33:03.060 not my own, but people's lives are not their own. All souls belong to God, but people take their
00:33:08.780 life. You know what I mean? So it's like illegal, if you will, but you could sell your soul, but 0.79
00:33:15.220 it's illegal. Okay. So it's just a trespass. Like it's illegal to do. You're not supposed to do
00:33:21.140 this. Sell your soul. Yeah, definitely. No, but that's the context. Is it like it's illegal? Like
00:33:27.720 yeah, you could take your life and so-called suicide, but it's not your life to take.
00:33:31.260 You have the free will to do so, though.
00:33:33.820 Interesting.
00:33:34.500 What a wild game, man.
00:33:36.120 Okay, Ezekiel 16, 20, and 21 says another crazy thing, man.
00:33:41.920 All right.
00:33:44.360 Another very crazy thing.
00:33:45.820 Moreover, oh, this is so crazy, man. 0.98
00:33:49.200 This is God speaking to Israel. 0.87
00:33:52.540 Moreover, you have taken your sons and your daughters whom you have borne unto me. 0.94
00:33:58.180 That's the main point we're getting at.
00:33:59.520 All souls are mine.
00:34:00.380 Yeah, you guys have had sons and daughters, but you've born them unto me.
00:34:04.060 I just think all parents should know that passage and should be very aware of that.
00:34:09.000 I'm a steward over these lives, but these children are born unto God, right?
00:34:14.340 They belong to him.
00:34:16.160 Somehow, the way the agreement goes is he set up this thing where like a daddy loves
00:34:19.880 a mommy and they have like a fun romance night, and the next thing you know, here's
00:34:23.440 a little human.
00:34:24.480 He says, yeah, yeah, that's awesome.
00:34:25.880 You're a steward over that little human, but just keep in mind, they belong to me.
00:34:30.380 And that shines a crazy light on the so-called abortion industry.
00:34:35.700 Can we go back?
00:34:36.780 Yes, please.
00:34:37.720 Yeah.
00:34:38.260 Moreover, you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne unto me, and these have you sacrificed unto them, he's talking about false gods, to be devoured. 1.00
00:34:47.680 Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, you little whore? 1.00
00:34:50.780 That's what he's saying. 1.00
00:34:51.980 Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter? 1.00
00:34:54.160 You sacrificed my kids? 1.00
00:34:57.540 Those kids don't even belong to you. 1.00
00:34:59.300 And you're killing them. 1.00
00:34:59.940 they belong to me all souls are mine you think that's a small thing you little whore you take 1.00
00:35:04.460 my children and kill them that thou has slain that thou has slain my children you think it's 1.00
00:35:12.340 a small thing that you've slain my children and deliver them to cause them to pass through the 1.00
00:35:15.980 fire for them i'm just saying dude all souls belong to god like keep that in mind next time
00:35:21.720 you get in an argument with somebody or next time somebody says some mean thing to you like that soul
00:35:25.800 belongs to God. Like you can get in a fight and argue and be nasty to people and hate people,
00:35:30.520 but that soul belongs to God. That's a soul that Jesus died for. That's why it's comical when
00:35:35.660 people are like, Oh, I can't believe you had a conversation or had somebody on your show that
00:35:39.060 believes, you know, blah, blah, blah. Like, well, if you have somebody on your show, that means you
00:35:42.700 agree with everything. Like, no, no, no. If I have somebody on my show, that's just like if I see
00:35:46.960 somebody in Walmart or Publix or whatever, like that's a soul that Jesus died for. Yeah. I'm happy
00:35:51.840 to talk to anybody about anything. These are all humans that God died for. Like, I just think that's
00:35:57.360 the right perspective. Anytime you get heated with people, you know, we talk a lot about not
00:36:01.300 holding a grudge. Like that's, that's a helpful way to not hold a grudge is be like, wow, I look
00:36:07.060 at this person, like they're straight trash. You know, I really hate them. And then you go, 1.00
00:36:11.360 oh, that's somebody Jesus died for though. What, like, what am I supposed to do with that?
00:36:16.360 Like, like even like the nastiest people that we can think of, like in government, if you will.
00:36:21.840 know it's like oh man if those if those are still human entities i don't know but if they are they're
00:36:26.800 humans that jesus died for salah and he just died for them to in essence just to hang out with them
00:36:35.040 that's really all that that he wants to have them as a family yeah yeah it's strange i've been
00:36:40.960 thinking about that concept a lot lately too it's like everything else wants something from you
00:36:45.840 everybody wants something from you all whether it be an entity or person your family they all
00:36:50.000 they all kind of have a thing that they need you to give them but he doesn't really need anything
00:36:54.960 from you he just he kind of wants to talk to you not just that he's jealous over it yeah like it's
00:37:01.600 not just like he's like hey i want to hang out with you it's not just that he's like hey i want
00:37:06.440 to hang out with you oh you're too busy with the ball game and facebook and tv shows and he's jealous
00:37:12.160 over that time with you that's yeah the whole thing i'm like this is wild man the whole thing
00:37:17.400 is so wild yeah i don't even know what to say to that okay so just keep that in mind parents like
00:37:26.600 your children belong to god you're you're a steward over that little life and and we understand that
00:37:32.260 like you only have them for 18 years in the house anyway or however long they stay in the house or
00:37:35.860 whatever so before you're like super bossy and controlling them and dominating them and you know
00:37:40.860 you had a hard day at work and now you're going to take it out on them just before you do that
00:37:44.180 just keep in mind, they belong to God. And so does your wife. That's a hard one. Sometimes you
00:37:49.680 get into fighting in the house and stuff. You have to always keep in mind, this is God's daughter.
00:37:54.960 My wife is God's daughter. Say I'm in an argument with my spouse. This is somebody who belongs to
00:37:59.740 God first. Not even me as a husband. Her first relationship is to God. So let me just keep
00:38:05.460 everything in that context. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you understand

00:39:45.700 Did you see the episode with Zach yesterday?
00:39:48.320 No, I'm actually working on processing it now.
00:39:51.380 I thought it was really fun.
00:39:53.440 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands.
00:39:56.080 Yeah, if you guys want to watch that, I'm going to be putting that up on Patreon for the patrons only.
00:40:00.580 Speaking of make a joyful noise, I know you were going to sandbag me on this.
00:40:03.680 but uh yeah the people from your church said you crushed on lead guitar and worship the other day
00:40:08.160 man what people from my church when you do that you have did you play lead guitar worship depends
00:40:14.400 on what day that was sunday yeah yeah i know you did i know i crushed i always crush what are you
00:40:18.480 talking about all right you're very read the scripture okay make a joyful noise unto god
00:40:23.200 all you and sing forth the honor of his name make his praise glorious saying to god how terrible art
00:40:28.720 thou in thy works people don't know that about god through the greatness of thy power shall thy
00:40:33.200 enemies submit themselves unto thee all the earth shall worship thee and shall sing unto thee
00:40:37.260 they shall sing to thy name salah what do you mean what does he mean by how terrible thou are
00:40:43.100 thou art and that works there's a there's a spirit of terror on god like it's the fear of the lord
00:40:48.520 yeah that's because he has like there's something like you look at him as like terror like it's just
00:40:53.760 you come to terms with like the entire universe is in his hands yeah everything belongs to him
00:40:59.660 I think as far as the human experience goes, you look at that and there should be a sense of terror.
00:41:04.680 Guys, I'm telling you guys, this is terrifying.
00:41:07.220 When this episode with Ed Mabry and James William comes out, watch that because it's just like they touch on everything.
00:41:14.240 And this is kind of one of the things about like when you're talking to God, tell him about what you're doing, what you've done, but tell him his story.
00:41:25.080 Ed loves hitting on these.
00:41:26.680 He loves when you tell him about his story.
00:41:29.660 amen and that's like a that's an obscure not an obscure part of his story but it is one of those
00:41:35.020 things where it's like everyone praises guy like we'll do well i'll shred a guitar solo i know it
00:41:39.340 was great but it's like it's all praise and worship and it's like how great thou art but
00:41:44.220 it's like yo dude this how terrible thou art too sometimes like we see like an alligator you made
00:41:50.220 an alligator that's crazy dude not just that like the whole universe i know yeah maybe that's a
00:41:55.820 little complicated well i mean let's talk about we don't know if it's flat or the yeah but like
00:42:00.140 whatever he's like he made everything yeah everything's in his hand dude like if if
00:42:04.700 like he can take your life like we're going to take these passages we're not even done with
00:42:08.060 these passages talking about like all souls belong to him like all life is in his hands
00:42:13.420 like yeah that's there's a sense of terror in that man but i mean his prophets had it carried
00:42:18.300 a spirit of terror too dude like when elijah shows up i mean even samuel uh the people in
00:42:23.660 in town said well do you come in peace like like they're they have a sense of terror on them dude
00:42:27.860 like just that they have that there's this power there that's i don't know it's hard to unpack it
00:42:32.860 gets a little offensive if you take it the wrong way but like yeah man there's this there's a sense
00:42:37.160 of terror if you go to the grand canyon and look over the edge or if you're on the uss enterprise
00:42:40.600 when i was a little kid because my cousin was on it i looked over the edge like there was like a
00:42:43.940 sense of terror you know what i mean it's like yeah you're coming in contact with the creator
00:42:47.920 of the universe you're not gonna have that same like butterflies in your stomach that you would
00:42:51.180 looking off a cliff or i mean there's something wild i think that's like that might be interchangeable
00:42:56.580 with respect yeah right like go hand in hand yeah recognizing something the danger in it
00:43:02.620 and just respecting it over there you know yeah yeah but there's this sense of like if you don't
00:43:07.560 look over the edge like you could never have that sense of terror you could respect the edge you
00:43:12.680 know like somebody could say hey man be careful you go to the edge you might die but there's this
00:43:15.780 other sense of terror when you see it for yourself you look over you go whoa what does it mean when
00:43:20.860 people like jump off the cliff you know what i mean when they do like the free diving or uh i
00:43:26.980 mean they're kind of conquering fear you got to respect that dude the base jumpers yeah should
00:43:31.400 we be doing that or should we be respecting the fear it's i mean that's totally between them and
00:43:35.960 god man no no that's it that's it that's a cliff that's not god you want to jump off a cliff and
00:43:40.200 you got a parachute like that's awesome i mean and maybe some of those people have they're afraid
00:43:45.120 of heights and that's why they do it i love those kind of people i love people who like
00:43:48.680 they meet the problem head on no holds barred man they go this thing's either gonna conquer me or
00:43:53.340 i'm gonna conquer it so it's not gonna conquer me so let's jump off the cliff let's go you know
00:43:58.400 what i mean who knows what's going on in those people's heads and the things that they're dealing
00:44:01.540 with that they have to like get through and how much that affects the rest of their life if they
00:44:05.980 can jump off a cliff like imagine that imagine any other problem that comes up in their life
00:44:09.940 they're like yo i could jump off a cliff and survive yeah you know surely i can deal with
00:44:14.580 this situation with my money or with my job or with you know whatever it may be i wonder if that
00:44:22.520 uh replaces god for some of these people though but that's it that's another conversation yeah
00:44:27.200 i don't know it's a it's an interesting thought though come and see the works of god he is
00:44:31.900 terrible in his doing toward the children of men he turned the sea into dry land you don't think
00:44:37.820 that was like a sense of terror when that happened when the the water was on both sides and they're
00:44:43.620 like walking through there's not a sense of terror in that he turned the sea in a dry land they went
00:44:49.240 through the flood on foot there did we rejoice in him he rules by his power forever his eyes
00:44:54.200 behold the nations let not the rebellious exalt themselves salah oh bless our god you people and
00:45:00.980 make the voice of his praise to be heard which holds which holds our soul in life and suffers
00:45:06.380 not our feet to be moved so we're just keying in on these passages we're talking about like
00:45:10.000 which holds our soul in life yeah i think there's a sense of terror if you come in contact with him
00:45:15.700 he's he's holding your soul in life i promise i scrub dude it's just i mean i wasn't gonna say
00:45:23.800 anything but you were thinking it though i could see you judging me but it's like it is what it is
00:45:27.260 when you got certain type of dark soil it just you can't get it off dude okay act 17 22
00:45:34.320 humble brag about the quality of his soil
00:45:39.120 then paul stood in the midst of mars hill and said this real preaching this isn't they didn't
00:45:43.040 come there and complain that the chairs weren't comfortable enough or that the air conditioner
00:45:47.840 wasn't set to the right tent there's people who don't want to hear it this is like real preaching
00:45:53.120 and he said he men of athens i perceive that in all things he are too too superstitious
00:45:57.920 for as i pass by and bear oceans sparrow the other day she said superstitious lmao what's up sparrow
00:46:06.740 nose bear i found an altar with this inscription to the unknown god whom therefore ye ignorantly
00:46:12.780 worship him declare i unto you so we just want to be careful that uh the churches in this nation
00:46:17.620 aren't doing that today right we want to make sure we're not worshiping an unknown god you know
00:46:22.740 who's just being ignorantly worshiped you want to make sure people read the bible from genesis to
00:46:27.380 revelation right and want to make sure they're being guided by the holy spirit as they're doing
00:46:31.560 that because the holy spirit's the author we want to make sure people know god because you could go
00:46:36.180 to worship at church and you're just worshiping worship right you want to make sure like your
00:46:40.640 worship is directed at god it's like you always say like what is worship directed at i love that
00:46:45.000 term in jude like that's the first study we did in jude where uh i think everybody's talking about
00:46:49.220 men but crept in unaware right is like a powerful statement because that's like that can go for
00:46:55.280 just about anything yeah god that made the world and all things therein this is the whole let's
00:47:03.480 not lose sight of like what we're doing here we're in matthew 6 and we're talking about like
00:47:06.760 don't be anxious god provides yeah god that made the world and all things therein seeing that he
00:47:12.400 is lord of heaven and earth dwells not in temples made with hands we should keep that in mind i'm
00:47:20.600 not saying it's a bad thing to build a building i'm just saying just keep that in mind that like
00:47:24.220 he doesn't dwell in temples or buildings made with hands.
00:47:27.560 He doesn't.
00:47:28.720 He doesn't dwell inside buildings. 0.90
00:47:31.440 That's why Abraham used a tent.
00:47:33.620 I like that.
00:47:34.580 God that made the world and all things therein,
00:47:36.540 seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, everything,
00:47:40.240 dwells not in temples made with hands.
00:47:42.740 Neither is worshiped with men's hands as though he needed anything.
00:47:46.800 Seeing he gives to all life and breath and all things
00:47:50.360 and hath made of one blood all nations of men
00:47:53.780 for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and as determined the times before appointed
00:47:58.460 and the bounds of their habitation, that they should seek the Lord, seek first his kingdom
00:48:04.800 and his righteousness, right? That they should seek the Lord, if happily they might feel after
00:48:09.520 him and find him, though he be not far from every one of us. For in him we live and move and have
00:48:16.900 our being, as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring. We are the
00:48:23.720 creation of God, right? Matthew 545 says he makes his son to rise on the evil and on the good and
00:48:29.580 sends rain on the just and on the unjust, right? So Paul's at Mars Hill. It's like these guys who
00:48:36.100 are definitely not Christians, right? And he's just preaching the gospel and saying the God that 0.93
00:48:40.080 made everything in whom we live and move and have our being, that's the God that I'm preaching to
00:48:45.900 you about. That's what I'm telling you about. He's in control of everything. Nothing's out of his
00:48:51.320 grasp. Like that's the one that you seek and he'll take care of you. You seek him, he'll take care of
00:48:56.780 you. Everything belongs to him. So I think like the rational response then is Romans 12.1.
00:49:03.360 This is the rational response. Like, like after everything we just said, I know it's kind of a
00:49:08.640 big rabbit trail or whatever, but it's like to bring all this thing into context. I beseech you
00:49:14.640 therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
00:49:18.960 Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
00:49:22.660 If everything belongs to him, he says, all souls are mine.
00:49:26.260 In him, we live and move and have our being.
00:49:28.560 It's a very rational response, right?
00:49:31.580 To give my life a living sacrifice.
00:49:34.220 That's a very reasonable thing, right?
00:49:36.720 And ultimately, the reality of why we're not anxious, if we can pull up Romans 8.28.
00:49:42.440 and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the
00:49:51.620 called according to his purpose. If I'm called according to his purpose, then all things work
00:49:57.040 together for good. So there's no such thing as like a bad situation. There's no such thing as
00:50:01.560 a bad decision. There's no such thing as a bad choice. Even when I make a bad choice, even when
00:50:06.160 I make a bad decision, even when I screw things up, God's like, yeah, cool. That's just going to
00:50:10.220 be a little jog on the road, but I'll bring it on back because you're called according to my
00:50:13.740 purpose. Your body is always giving you signals. Whoop helps you understand them. Whoop is the

So that's why we're not anxious. Like, like that's the other thing is we're like, Lord, my life belongs to you. I've given you my life. My body as a living sacrifice, you do whatever you want with it. And if that's the context and all things are going to work together for good for me, because I've given you my life according to your purpose.
00:52:01.040 So that so that's like makes this whole thing make sense of like why I'm not anxious.
00:52:08.140 All right, let's drop back and cover.
00:52:11.060 That was just kind of like a overview of that section.
00:52:14.460 But if we drop back and cover verse 26 specifically about the birds, because it's intriguing to me.
00:52:21.160 There's like two different groups.
00:52:22.220 There's birds and then there's flowers.
00:52:24.460 And there's a little thing in the middle where he says, like, you can't even add an inch to your height.
00:52:28.800 uh so don't worry about that sorry david but the two main uh things are birds and flowers
00:52:35.980 behold the foul the fowls of the air okay so not that that word behold is uh
00:52:42.640 emblepo not not mbappe the good french soccer player not not him but emblepo
00:52:49.200 and that and that's a greek word that means to observe fixedly or absolutely or to discern
00:52:55.420 clearly discern clearly the birds we touched on this earlier watch the birds dude they're never
00:53:03.740 just chilling they are very active they're very active but they're not anxious right so that's
00:53:10.560 we want to make sure we keep that context where it says like uh take no thought it definitely
00:53:14.560 doesn't mean just sit around and wait for stuff to happen i've been thinking about that as well
00:53:18.460 like not just the idea of the birds but about discerning discerning what something is doing
00:53:23.760 there's a one of my favorite song lyrics from john mary he talks about a magpie magpie is a type of
00:53:29.200 bird that'll take like a shiny object and put it in their nest and uh i'm like it's just crazy that
00:53:34.720 people know that like that they've been watching them and watching what they do and then like like
00:53:39.920 they'll draw a comparison to your daily life from what a bird does but like they're what they're
00:53:44.560 beholding the bird and they're taking a life lesson from it so it's not it's nothing new
00:53:50.400 but we do it all it's but we're in a war over the eyes today more than probably any time period i'm
00:53:55.600 not saying like hundreds of years ago dudes didn't struggle with like you know checking out chicks
00:53:59.600 they're not married to like i'm sure that's been a thing from the beginning of time like did we know
00:54:02.960 david had that issue but like what we're capable of looking at is just on another level man and
00:54:09.520 it's too like intoxicating compared to like being in the woods being on your farm like looking at
00:54:16.080 nature looking at the stars at night like these things that god made for us for us to enjoy and
00:54:21.180 where all of his parables come from he doesn't have parables about facebook and like sub stack
00:54:26.420 right he's got a sub stack he's got he's got parables about like the natural world that he
00:54:33.500 made for us and he says yeah yeah observe that take that in clearly because you'll learn about
00:54:37.680 me in the in my creation like i really feel like god's like he's like you'll learn a lot about me
00:54:42.560 If you watch the creation, like if you sit in a tree stand for a while and just observe
00:54:47.340 the woods, especially like when the sun comes up and watch the woods come to life, like
00:54:50.820 you'll learn a lot about me and who I am.
00:54:52.680 Same thing as it goes tonight.
00:54:54.040 Same thing.
00:54:54.360 If you're hiking, if you're spot and stalking, hunting, like you're just in the woods and
00:54:57.860 you're in the creation and you're observing what's going on around you, you learn a lot
00:55:02.020 about God in that way.
00:55:03.500 But he's saying specifically in this case, look at the birds, man.
00:55:06.860 but this is wild because he says, uh, behold the fowls of the air for they so not, neither do they
00:55:14.740 reap nor gather into barns. So, well, we can, so we can reap, we can gather, right? So if birds
00:55:22.840 can't do that and are still fully taken care of, surely we who can do those things will be taken
00:55:28.060 care of as well. Like watch birds. They're not lazy. Look, behold the fowls of the air for they
00:55:34.580 sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns. Again, that's why it matters. If you
00:55:39.060 understand this, take no thought. It doesn't mean just be mindless. It means don't be anxious.
00:55:44.080 Like, because you can sow, you can reap, you can gather into barns. Your heavenly father feeds them
00:55:51.120 and they can't do all that. Are you not much better than they? Like, yeah, you are much better
00:55:55.800 than they. You're much more valuable, but you also can do those things he just named, the sowing,
00:56:00.260 the reaping, the gathering. Like if they, if they can't even do those things and they're
00:56:04.260 taken care of, like you can sow and reap and harvest and store up. So
00:56:08.260 surely he's going to care for you, right? Let's look at Psalm 36, nine for some,
00:56:16.940 for some godly perspective is just really all this is. For with thee is the fountain of life
00:56:26.800 in thy light shall we see light. So he's talking about godly perspective, right? Be mindful of what
00:56:32.400 you observe and be mindful of how you observe. Like I want in his light, I'll see light, right?
00:56:38.420 So I want to have this godly perspective as I'm looking at all things, man. As I'm observing the
00:56:42.600 birds, I want to say, yeah, what does God want me to see here? What does God want me to know here?
00:56:46.480 I'm planting banana trees. Like what does God want me to know about this, man? The corm on a banana,
00:56:51.360 you know, the root system, if you will, is completely different than like a fig
00:56:55.540 or a mulberry root system that goes way out and it's very invasive you know a banana trunk
00:57:00.440 uh banana corm just kind of stays in one spot it shoots out some shoots and stuff but for the most
00:57:05.380 part just one giant chunk like okay what can i learn about that and like defeating very close
00:57:10.540 to the to the base of the tree right whereas like mulberries and figs they're grabbing nutrition
00:57:15.100 from like way out here you know like what can i what can i observe in that and learn from that
00:57:19.920 how do they react when i put chicken poop on them you know like just just all these things man you
00:57:24.120 You just you learn like if you have the light of God and you see things in his light, then you take everything in in that light.
00:57:32.980 OK, so let's look at Proverbs 6, 6 through 11, because because sometimes people they do think that like, yeah, you know, watch the birds like they don't do anything.
00:57:46.260 That's telling us don't do anything. Go to the aunt, you sluggard. Consider her ways and be wise. 1.00
00:57:52.860 go ahead you got it which having no guide overseer or ruler provided her meat in the
00:57:57.980 summer and gather gathereth her food in the harvest how long will thou sleep o sluggard
00:58:04.060 when will thou arise out of thy sleep okay yet a little sleep a little slumber
00:58:10.780 a little folding of the hands to sleep so shall thy poverty come as one that that that traveleth
00:58:17.340 and i want it as an armed man okay that's staggering because it's saying that like
00:58:21.340 poverty comes from laziness right that's what that's saying it's saying consider the ant stay
00:58:27.500 busy the same way an ant stays busy right consider the fowls like they're all the birds are always
00:58:32.300 moving they're always doing stuff the ants are always doing stuff consider them and be wise
00:58:36.620 right observe the ant right gain wisdom by observation that's really what we're talking
00:58:41.820 about it's what i tell the kids at in the coffee shop all the time it's like yeah i can tell you
00:58:46.300 you what to do every minute of the day, or you can observe what's going on here and take that
00:58:52.500 information that you're getting by observation and, and then start to work accordingly. Like
00:58:58.340 that's what we're taught in the kingdom of God. It's like learn by observation. Um, so work is
00:59:04.380 natural, right? Verse seven and eight, which having no guide or, or, uh, overseer or ruler
00:59:10.600 provides her meat in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest, right? Birds can't even do
00:59:15.480 that. They can't even gather, but the ants can. They can store up. Laziness is fighting against
00:59:21.780 nature, right? Like you won't win. Like work is a natural thing. You're fighting against nature
00:59:29.080 when you're lazy, sleeping, not getting up and getting going. God's way of saying this is not
00:59:34.660 rocket science, right? He's saying like, have a plan, have a vision and be diligent. So let's look
00:59:44.100 at genesis 2 look at genesis 2 starting in verse 7 but i think i think it does matter too in this
00:59:54.960 day and age of like um being mindful of like how much money you need too like like we've got to be
01:00:01.060 diligent in that as well we we had a kid here before that um the husband had a had a vehicle
01:00:08.920 they were young like low 20s no kids but she was constantly complaining that she didn't make
01:00:14.780 enough money and i was like i i got the guy rob i don't know if you know the guy rob he came in
01:00:21.020 and did like a free budget class for i haven't met him you told me about him yeah for everybody
01:00:25.500 here to get everybody on a budget because i'm like you kids dude you guys are off the rails
01:00:30.120 with the amount of money you're spending on like food and tvs and clothes and con she had this
01:00:34.800 constant credit card debt i was like there's no amount of money that's going to get you out of
01:00:38.000 like you have to get your budget right yeah the husband had a jeep that was like i think she said
01:00:44.800 70k and he didn't have a big paying job either and so that's like that's dude that's more than
01:00:53.200 that's literally more than me jess aiden and bella's vehicles combined dude like literally
01:00:59.120 my car was probably like 15k jess's car was like 15k bellows was like 13 if i remember right aiden's
01:01:05.680 was like 10. Like, dude, they had one vehicle that costs more than all four of our vehicles
01:01:09.820 combined. I was like, dude, like consider the ant and be wise, man. Like be diligent work,
01:01:15.480 but be diligent in how you're handling it too. Like, don't just gather and it's all out the
01:01:20.580 door before you even can enjoy it. I don't know. I just think that's all. I just think that's a
01:01:25.040 big thing for people today, man, because like the, the, the visuals and the doom scrolling and the
01:01:30.060 eyes is like, there's so much to tempt us. And then in the buying of things, there's so much
01:01:35.440 to tempt us, man. All right, so Genesis 2, 7 through 9 says this.
01:01:43.420 And the Lord God formed man in the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath
01:01:47.620 of life. And man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden,
01:01:53.940 and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every
01:01:59.100 tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the
01:02:04.260 garden in the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
01:02:09.060 All right, let's jump to verse 15.
01:02:13.360 And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to
01:02:17.500 keep it.
01:02:18.260 So to dress it is to work it.
01:02:21.280 So this is before the curse.
01:02:23.260 This is before the fall of man.
01:02:24.880 This is man in this like perfect environment, if you will.
01:02:28.880 Still working.
01:02:29.820 Yeah.
01:02:30.260 He's made to work, man.
01:02:32.140 so i you know well hold on we'll unpack the rest of it so he puts it there to to work it and to
01:02:37.660 guard it like he says dude this is your job so i don't know what all is going on outside the garden
01:02:42.300 but he told him to guard it so i don't i mean the garden is the garden there's still all of planet
01:02:46.620 earth i don't know what was happening outside the garden on planet earth but he's but he's
01:02:50.940 told to guard it but he's told to work it in the very beginning well the garden is uh the garden
01:02:57.740 is on a mountain and the mountain is where god holds his uh his heavenly council this is uh i
01:03:05.260 mean there's this scriptural evidence i think in ezekiel where they talk about uh where the heavenly
01:03:09.740 council is they talk about so they talk about adam being in the garden there so what's beyond that
01:03:16.380 mountain god's mountain is is the question other things i don't know but the point of what we're
01:03:21.820 saying is like even in that pre-fallen state like man hasn't fallen work man work is like this great
01:03:29.580 thing i know we've talked about it before like uh elijah gets told to go find elisha and put him
01:03:35.980 prophet in your place he finds him working samuel's told to go anoint the son of jesse he finds david
01:03:41.180 in the field working you know jesus comes down to the earth he gets to pick whoever he wants he
01:03:45.180 finds working men like like there's this concept of work right like work is what man is supposed
01:03:51.020 to be doing. But let's finish up in Genesis 3, like verses 17 through 19.

01:05:30.720 This says, and unto Adam, he said, because you have hearkened unto the voice of your wife.
01:05:39.140 I mean, this is one of those passages where you think of like where Jesus says,
01:05:42.540 if any man hates not mother father or sister brother his own life he can't be my disciple
01:05:47.680 you would just it was like oh man did adam did he did he know that what was going to happen did he
01:05:54.080 know god had a trick up his sleeve and he didn't want eve to be uh lost forever and so he kind of
01:05:59.560 went into hell to get her if you will figuratively speaking i i don't know or was he like did he love
01:06:05.440 his wife more than he loved god i don't know i don't know it's a lot you could unpack that
01:06:09.360 probably for the rest of time, but it has eaten of the tree of which I commanded you saying you
01:06:14.060 shall not eat of it. Cursed is the ground for your sake, right? He doesn't curse Adam. He curses the
01:06:19.480 ground. It's intriguing, right? Cause he curses the serpent, but Adam, Adam isn't cursed. The
01:06:27.220 ground is cursed for Adam's sake, right? That's like almost, you know, it kind of his identity,
01:06:33.460 if you will, like in the natural realm, he's like working and now the, and now the ground is cursed.
01:06:37.460 like i like i live on the farm and i'm like this isn't cursed man this is so rad dude like i add
01:06:43.040 nutrients and you know chicken manure and chop and drop to the soil and fruit grows and i get
01:06:48.680 food from the land and like imagine what was like before the curse dude it was like you never had a
01:06:53.540 tree die like all the fruits were at like your fullest potential like you know we talk about
01:06:57.700 like humans at their fullest potential and jesus sees them at their fullest potential imagine the
01:07:01.600 earth like you're working before the curse and everything's growing at its fullest potential
01:07:06.060 but now now it's not like now it's cursed uh cursed is the ground for thy sake and sorrow
01:07:12.620 shall thou eat of it all the days of thy life let's keep reading through 19 thorns also and
01:07:18.400 thistles shall it bring forth to thee and thou shalt eat the herb of the field that's why they
01:07:23.040 say it's significant that jesus had the crown of thorns like he took the curse to the cross
01:07:26.740 in the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground for out of it
01:07:32.200 was thou taken for dust thou art and under dust shalt thou return so we're commanded to work man
01:07:38.340 it's really what i'm getting at commanded people get busy all right let's look at uh let's make
01:07:44.980 sure we're keeping this in context can we pull up um one timothy five eight how long are we going
01:07:52.220 today we got another one after this okay let's do maybe we'll do um this is the bird section maybe
01:07:58.040 we'll hold off on the flower section yeah no but it's a great contrast i'll just i'll just um
01:08:03.700 do the spoiler alert anyway it's like uh the birds can do the flowers can't right so he does both so
01:08:11.180 we're gonna find the balance in that we're gonna find the balance that but we'll just do the birds
01:08:13.880 this week all right one timothy 5 8 says but if any provide not for his own and especially for
01:08:20.040 those of his own house he had denied the faith and is worse than an infidel so we we just always
01:08:24.800 want to keep this balance right like oh matt's talking about like don't worry about money just 0.97
01:08:29.560 hang out and don't worry about it all you're like okay okay amen but let's balance that with like 0.80
01:08:35.580 if you don't provide for your family you're worse than an infidel you're worse than one who doesn't 0.78
01:08:40.460 know god i think this is why like the nephilim death squad show works well it's uh the difference 0.78
01:08:46.700 in dynamic between me and david and the balance that we have is very much like david is like
01:08:51.080 he's like yeah i'm not worried about where the next thing's coming from no he's not he's very
01:08:55.000 taking a nap but i'm like very organized but you need both of those things you need to you need to
01:09:00.720 relax you guys really fit the thing perfect you guys yeah your strengths and weaknesses in his
01:09:05.620 strengths and weaknesses like fit perfect yeah yeah i think i think i need a little bit of his
01:09:09.820 strengths he needs a little bit of my strength yeah and then but you guys are doing that we're
01:09:13.880 trying we're trying no i mean if you think about it dude i don't know is there other like two person
01:09:18.340 teams that just crush like that like it wouldn't work if you guys were exactly the same just like
01:09:22.020 me and jess wouldn't work in a marriage if we were exactly the same yeah it would totally like
01:09:26.260 me and jess are kind of a lot opposite of a lot of things but then you know we work with those
01:09:31.780 opposites and then find the common ground and you know end up you know as time goes on we have like
01:09:36.980 the same things we love you know we have like the we were really really disjointed before the kids
01:09:42.180 was like when the kids were born that's what really brought us together and made us find more common
01:09:46.660 ground but it used to be real rough like before that yeah but i mean i feel like yeah those are
01:09:51.540 the best relationships when there's like opposites and people before kids you could you can kind of
01:09:56.260 get by on the the wedding vow of being like yeah yeah we're one we're one in the same you know how
01:10:02.020 like they say like oh you guys are now one flesh or whatever it is it's like yeah yeah sure but then
01:10:06.900 once you have kids you're like well we better be now yeah we weren't even married though it was
01:10:10.660 like oh yeah kids yeah yeah yeah we were just at each other's throat it was like well if you got
01:10:14.820 a baby mom i was one kid that's one but then we were pregnant with aiden i was like i'm not gonna
01:10:18.420 have two kids and not be married yeah yeah i get dude i wasn't saved so back then i was like i don't
01:10:23.060 know if this is still is this gonna work out or not i was like well yeah it's just so what but
01:10:29.060 dude like that i don't know to me like my marriage is the ultimate picture of god dude the fact that
01:10:33.380 it still exists is like it's so crazy man but we fill in each other's gaps was the point i was
01:10:39.140 making it's like you and raven because you guys are basically a marriage okay let's look at two
01:10:42.420 Thessalonians 3 verses 1 through 10. Finally brethren pray for us that the word of the Lord
01:10:52.260 may have free course and be glorified even as it is with you and that we may be delivered from
01:10:58.180 unreasonable and wicked men for all men have not faith but the Lord is faithful who shall
01:11:04.580 who shall establish you and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you
01:11:10.200 that you both do and will, that you both do and will do the things which we command you.
01:11:18.220 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ.
01:11:24.280 So we need God to direct our hearts into that. Like, I don't, I don't think that's like natural
01:11:28.240 for man to just, um, have the love of God and patient waiting for Christ. What does that mean?
01:11:34.500 Patient waiting for Christ? Just knowing he's coming, man. And not like, uh, I don't know if
01:11:39.120 There's probably an element of where I think I went through this where I was like, dude, I stopped mowing the lawn.
01:11:46.160 I stopped, like, taking care of my house, dude.
01:11:48.220 No, I did.
01:11:48.780 I stopped going to, like, when Jess would take the kids to other kids' birthday parties.
01:11:51.880 I wasn't going.
01:11:53.220 I just stopped.
01:11:54.180 I didn't care about anything, dude.
01:11:55.880 I just was in my room, like, reading a Bible.
01:11:57.780 One time, me and Jess got in a fight.
01:11:59.500 And I didn't know it was going to go like this today with the whole Jimmy and Jess thing.
01:12:04.100 We got in a fight.
01:12:05.240 And I was like, you don't do anything around here.
01:12:07.600 And Bella was there. And she goes, she was like in the other room. She came over because she was a grown up when she was a little kid. She goes, no, daddy, mommy does everything around here. You just sit in your room and read your Bible all day. That's what Bella said when she was like five, dude. And I remember it pricked me in my heart. I was like, oh, wait, that's that's like my daughter's observation of her dad. Like that's I don't I don't know if I I mean, I kind of like that, but I kind of don't I kind of don't like that.
01:12:33.660 and it just brought a lot of perspective because like jess cooked every meal for them just dressed
01:12:38.540 them dress just brushed their teeth that bell always had pigtails or braids or something like
01:12:42.740 like jess did everything in the world of the kids yeah but you're doing a hard crash course on
01:12:48.180 eternal life and you're like i i get it you you're like this is important i haven't been
01:12:54.020 paying attention to this my whole life i better catch up yeah i stopped everything dude i understand
01:12:59.020 i understand that proclivity too man but it's but i think this that's what this is man and the lord
01:13:04.120 direct your hearts into the love of god and into the patient waiting for christ so it's like dang
01:13:09.600 yeah i need to get right with god i need to go from genesis to revelation a couple more times i
01:13:14.600 need to make sure i understand like what's happening especially i have these little humans
01:13:17.640 i'm responsible for like yeah i better start understanding like what's going on here like i
01:13:22.360 don't want to be caught off guard i don't want to be listening to the voices who are going to tell
01:13:25.920 me what to think about god like i want to know god and i just went wholehearted into it and spend
01:13:30.580 whole weekends just going after god just in my room like not leaving my room just reading a bible
01:13:34.880 and like going hard after god get home from work and then just be reading a bible or watching
01:13:39.520 sermons like the rest of the day uh but like i don't know like your life will kind of get wonky
01:13:47.240 if there's a balance to all of it yeah which i had to learn the hard way because i would because
01:13:50.940 i mean i stopped going to the gym there was another time period where i quit going to the gym
01:13:53.900 and uh then my spiritual life was not as good i wasn't as sharp with god in the morning and i was
01:14:00.140 like what's happening i'm forsaking everything i'm just going spirit realm stuff and it was like yeah
01:14:04.700 you're made of spirit soul and body and if you start to screw up any of those in your in your
01:14:09.280 triune nature if you will the whole thing gets messed up the whole thing gets messed up so i
01:14:13.200 had to learn that the hard way like nobody taught me that i learned it where it was like you can't
01:14:17.580 just be spiritual like you got to be spiritual you got to feed your mind as well you got to feed
01:14:22.780 your uh physical right and because in the end they're all connected the same way we're like if
01:14:27.660 you want to be in good shape you got to sleep right you got to exercise right you got to eat
01:14:31.360 right you start to mess up any of those things the whole thing goes out of whack or same thing
01:14:35.980 in the human experience and so like you have to have this patience you have to be like okay
01:14:40.520 i need to be like living my life in expectation that god could come right now but i need to be
01:14:47.760 planning for the future as if he's not coming for a thousand years i need to live in the balance of
01:14:51.660 both of those things right so i so i don't know it's kind of a long-winded answer but that's that's
01:14:57.420 how i would read that man the lord direct your hearts right and i'm not going to be able to do
01:15:01.120 that unless god directs my heart to do that the lord direct your hearts into the love of god and 0.78
01:15:05.700 into the patient waiting for christ we call this a retarded obedience to god i like that just like 0.95
01:15:13.000 because it is kind of retarded you're you're sitting for waiting for a day that most likely 0.98
01:15:19.620 like percentage wise in the grand scheme of humanity uh you're not going to see you're not 0.96
01:15:29.080 going to be alive okay but in the days of noah percentage wise it was ridiculous to think that
01:15:33.900 like the flood was coming today i'm saying it could happen but then one day the flood came 0.89
01:15:37.460 it's it's also it required what i mean by retarded uh is your body is always giving you signals 0.78

01:17:13.520 Ignoring the probability of it.
01:17:17.800 You know what I mean?
01:17:18.220 Because if you look at it and you go, all right, throughout human history,
01:17:21.400 being part of the generation, being alive of part of the generation
01:17:25.220 that Jesus Christ is going to come back is minuscule
01:17:28.620 when you think about how many people are just coming and going in this world. 1.00
01:17:32.080 And it's like, it is kind of retarded to always be like waiting and watching. 0.99
01:17:36.400 But it's like, but that's what we're supposed to do. 0.93
01:17:38.660 it's not there's a balance in it you know how we talk about it is written but it is also written
01:17:43.140 right you don't agree with that though like no if we're talking about all right we're talking about
01:17:47.060 percentages of people that ever existed 99.9 of people that ever were born are not going to be
01:17:53.700 here when that final time okay but that's like saying you know the difference between a recession
01:17:58.020 and a depression and a recession is when no you don't know this one the recession is when all
01:18:03.860 your neighbors uh don't have a job a depression is when you don't have a job you see what i'm
01:18:09.940 saying it's like yeah okay percentage wise blah blah blah but one day it's gonna happen and if
01:18:14.500 you're the guy that's there the day it happens that's all that matters i'm not saying that we
01:18:19.300 shouldn't i'm saying you definitely should what i'm saying is that there has to be a there has 0.95
01:18:23.700 to be a element of retarded in you to say yeah yeah i see that big number that's saying most 0.88
01:18:30.980 likely. This is not going to happen to me, but I don't care. I don't think that at all, dude. 1.00
01:18:36.100 You don't think that at all? No. So I'm planting a farm in hopes that a hundred years from now,
01:18:41.360 my loved ones will be eating, not just eating from trees that I'm planting now, but also the
01:18:47.880 soil will be so good that whatever they want to plant, they can plant anything and it's going to
01:18:52.140 grow good because I'm going to build this soil for the next 70 years, right? So I'm 120. I'm
01:18:57.800 to be building that soil. I'm going to be planting trees that they're going to, that my loved ones
01:19:02.640 are going to eat from. And hopefully that's going to expand. Hopefully that sphere is going to
01:19:05.660 expand. Like my loved ones are going to have more loved ones and they're going to have more loved
01:19:08.780 ones. I'm going to feed all these people. And when I drive here in the morning, I'm still looking up
01:19:14.220 the window, looking up, looking up top going, I'm down. If you're coming today, like, like I'm down.
01:19:19.460 Like if today's the day you're going to do this, I'm totally down. 1.00
01:19:21.920 You understand that that's your mentality is, is retarded because yeah, well, when the rest, 1.00
01:19:27.260 when the rest of the world, like the vast majority of the world is not living like that or thinking 0.97
01:19:33.260 like that. I'm not going to compare it to the rest of the world. But I'm just telling you,
01:19:36.400 that's the reality. Most people don't think like that because they're thinking analytically. Well,
01:19:40.740 like, listen, if I had to run a number, if I asked the computer to crunch these numbers,
01:19:44.740 the computer is going to tell me, hey, spend your time elsewhere. Do stuff right here, right now.
01:19:49.160 You need to get away from AI. I'm just saying, but that's how most people are thinking. This
01:19:52.840 is why most people aren't planting a garden. This is why most people aren't thinking about
01:19:56.760 the things of the future they're thinking about they're thinking about right now the things that
01:19:59.840 can happen right now you know what i'm saying not not jesus's return which may or may not happen i
01:20:05.420 guess i'm on the extreme of both then because because i'm i'm not like doing the thing that
01:20:09.700 matters right now like i'm planting trees and i'm like dude this is for the future my happiness for
01:20:15.380 this is that like i'm doing something somebody else is going to get great joy from like dude
01:20:19.480 imagine how rad it would be if like i just like my family just had some farm and i could go there
01:20:24.700 pick plums and peaches and nectarines and pomegranates and figs and bananas like whenever
01:20:29.740 i want and like somebody else did it that's what god did for israel like he gave them the land he's
01:20:34.620 like dude you guys didn't plant all this stuff but i'm gonna give it to you you know what i'm saying
01:20:38.140 like like i get so excited to think that i could do that for somebody so that's like this extreme
01:20:43.420 of not right now that like my thought is the future but then on the other extreme i'm looking
01:20:48.940 out the windshield on the way here and saying lord if you want to do this right now i'm ready to go
01:20:53.740 right now there's another thing too of people that do think that that people that are preparing for
01:20:58.700 jesus to come they think like all right he'll come and then that's it but that's not what the bible
01:21:03.340 says yeah and it's game on dude yeah he comes and then yeah and then the new the new world begins
01:21:08.620 for like new heavens and a new earth think about like when you were born again like i think some
01:21:12.860 people think that too before they're born again they're like oh okay i get born again and then
01:21:17.260 how did you say it then like that's just the end yeah yeah they think that they're just like okay
01:21:22.060 then i'm just a christian and then i just i don't know i just do the thing on sunday and
01:21:26.380 it's like no no no then your life just begins man yeah yeah same thing dude like as soon as
01:21:31.500 the eternal realm takes place it's like bro let's go let's do this okay sorry what so wait i got to
01:21:39.220 finish this uh thessalonians passage and the lord direct your hearts into the love of god and into
01:21:43.480 the patient waiting for christ now we command you brethren in the name of our lord jesus christ that
01:21:47.360 you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly. People don't like this. Withdraw
01:21:53.380 yourself from every brother that walks disorderly, not the world that walks disorderly, because of
01:21:58.660 course the world walks disorderly, but every brother that walks disorderly after the tradition
01:22:03.160 which he received of us. For yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we behave not ourselves
01:22:08.440 disorderly among you. Neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing, but wrought with labor and
01:22:16.140 travail night and day that we might not be chargeable to any of you. So in another place,
01:22:20.680 Paul says, yeah, take care of those guys preaching the gospel. But in this place, he says, but I
01:22:24.780 didn't take any money from you. He says, I didn't take any money from you day and night that we
01:22:31.160 might not be chargeable to any of you, not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an
01:22:35.880 example unto you to follow us. He said, this is on a higher level. I'm giving you an example to
01:22:40.180 follow for even when we were with you this week commanded you that if any would not work, neither
01:22:45.100 should he eat he says bro you don't work you don't eat so i'm just trying to bring balance to this
01:22:50.220 whole conversation right it's like yeah you gotta grind you gotta hustle if you don't work you don't
01:22:55.420 eat but just don't be anxious for these things don't be anxious don't be covetous for the super
01:23:00.540 abundance but don't be anxious for like the necessities can we wrap it up right there that's
01:23:05.340 it that's a good spot yeah we'll pick up where we left off like in matthew 6 5 through 8 actually
01:23:10.460 next week. See you guys next week.
