00:00:00.000 I have people that care about me. I have people that love me. I have people that check in on me
00:00:03.640 every single day. It's foreign. It's unfathomable to me that there might be guys out there who don't 1.00
00:00:10.720 have a single person to check in on or to have them check in on them. I was appalled by the
00:00:18.140 amount of men that I received in the comments. And I received hundreds and hundreds of comments
00:00:21.800 on that post are like, Oh no, this is true. Oh no, this is accurate. Oh no, I don't have any
00:00:27.240 friends. I'm like, what is happening? Hey, what's up guys. It feels really good to be back in studio.
00:00:34.720 I've been out of the office and the podcast studio for about a week and a half with a couple of
00:00:40.840 different hunts, one in Minnesota, actually just one hunt, one in Minnesota. And then I went and
00:00:45.660 spent some time in Wisconsin with Vortex Optics. And I mean, what an incredible company. The fact
00:00:53.780 that they've been able to become the world's largest optic manufacturer in 25 years, beating
00:01:01.440 their competitors out by leaps and bounds is fascinating. And we've got some really, really
00:01:06.780 cool stories and podcasts and conversations and content coming out around Vortex and their story
00:01:14.440 and what they've done. So if you haven't checked them out, make sure to check them out. But
00:01:17.640 yeah, it is good to be back in studio. I'm actually leaving again in a couple of days.
00:01:22.540 You've heard from my good friend and co-host Kip Sorensen on the podcast and Sean Villalobos as well on the AMA.
00:01:30.900 You're going to hear from me next week and we'll talk about a little of what they said.
00:01:36.260 Some I agree with.
00:01:37.200 Some will rebuke a little bit.
00:01:39.180 So it should be a good conversation.
00:01:40.640 But I am glad to be back and wanted to have a really important discussion about some alarming statistics
00:01:47.660 that i have seen with regards to the state the condition of of men and it's not good it's really
00:01:59.640 really not good and we're on the heels of a horrible horrible election cycle and look i i
00:02:09.000 i don't really want to get into the left versus right uh but there's some dangerous things that
00:02:15.800 are going to be happening over the next probably at this point two to eight years maybe even a
00:02:20.640 decade that we need to be very aware of so there's been a lot going on while I've been gone while I've
00:02:25.840 been sitting in a tree stand and I wish I could just do that sometimes people say well you know
00:02:31.200 just go out and focus on the things that are closest to you yes absolutely and also focus
00:02:37.100 on the things that impact you politics being one of those things but we'll save that for another
00:02:43.440 discussion. Today I want to talk with you about five statistics, alarming, disturbing, frustrating
00:02:49.480 statistics that I have seen come up as I research this podcast. I research the things I want to talk
00:02:56.300 with you about. Some of them I have talked about before and others I have not yet addressed, but
00:03:01.780 let's break this down. So first and foremost, men account for close to 80% of U.S. suicides, 80%.
00:03:12.600 now look we represent about half the population a little less than and yet we represent 80 percent
00:03:21.220 of all u.s suicides now i will say there's a caveat here that does not mean that we
00:03:27.000 attempt 80 percent of suicides it means that we complete for lack of a better term or we
00:03:33.940 we we accomplish i don't even know what the word is there's no word for that but we actually 1.00
00:03:41.240 account for 80 percent of u.s suicides now what's also interesting about this is our female
00:03:48.960 counterparts actually account for more attempts than we do most of the time that is a byproduct
00:03:58.100 of reaching out for help as opposed to i want to kill myself men are more for lack of a better term
00:04:07.200 effective at killing themselves. It's just the means. We kill ourselves with guns. That's it.
00:04:12.720 Women might kill themselves with pills and other means, but men kill themselves with guns.
00:04:18.780 So for every attempt, we are much more likely to actually complete the act of suicide than 0.73
00:04:26.340 our female counterparts. So what does that say? Well, it says that we're depressed.
00:04:34.140 it says that we're desperate it says that we as men can't see a way out of the situation that we
00:04:43.600 may find ourselves in and there's some other statistics that i'm going to talk with you about
00:04:48.120 today that might underscore this first statistic that we account for 80 of u.s suicides but at the
00:04:55.000 end of the day we are killing ourselves off at insane absolutely insane tragic numbers
00:05:04.100 and i can't help but think that some of what i'm going to go through the other four steps or the
00:05:10.360 other four statistics that i've heard might help alleviate some of this pressure and some of this
00:05:15.020 strain but it's not good it's not good when we're killing ourselves 80 of the time relative to our 0.54
00:05:24.280 female counterparts. All right. Number two, 15% of men have no close friends and that's up from 0.70
00:05:35.260 3%. So 15% might not sound like a big deal. 15%, 85% do have close friends. It might not sound
00:05:44.460 like a big deal, but that's up from 3% in 1990. Guys, if you think that social media and technology
00:05:52.640 and the interwebs and everything else is good for you. I'm telling you right now, it's not.
00:05:58.380 And this is coming from a man who uses the internet, who uses digital technology,
00:06:03.740 who uses social media every single day. And I hope that what I bring to you fosters and encourages
00:06:10.340 and bolsters the antithesis of this statistic, that we are actually connecting with men face
00:06:18.600 to face shoulder to shoulder we're going out we're going to events we're connecting with guys
00:06:22.660 we're going on hunts we're taking adventures but the reality is is that 15 of men have no close
00:06:30.220 friend maybe that's you i actually think it's higher i think this statistic is skewed a little
00:06:38.860 i think it's actually higher because you have to define what close friend is i made a post just the
00:06:45.300 other day about somebody had made a comment and it went a little viral and it said something to
00:06:52.320 the effect of, you know, men have no close friends, yada, yada, yada, yada, yada. And nobody cares
00:06:58.620 about men. And I said, I don't agree with this. I don't agree with this. I think we do have people
00:07:04.220 that care about us. I think we do have people that want us in their lives. I think there are
00:07:09.240 plenty of people who are relying on us. And I really, I firmly believe that that's my universe
00:07:16.340 that I operate in. I have people that care about me. I have people that love me. I have people
00:07:20.000 that check in on me every single day. It's foreign. It's unfathomable to me that there 1.00
00:07:26.940 might be guys out there who don't have a single person to check in on or to have them check in
00:07:32.240 on them. But I was shocked. I was appalled by the comments that I received. I mean,
00:07:42.400 the comments that I received, none of them were, were harsh necessarily, but they were,
00:07:48.400 I don't even, I don't even know. Like they, they were just, they were horrible.
00:07:55.220 The amount of men that I received in the comments and I received hundreds and hundreds of comments
00:07:59.320 on that post are like, oh no, this is true. Oh no, this is accurate. Oh no, I don't have any
00:08:04.740 friends. I'm like, what is happening? What is happening? You can't go golf with somebody. You
00:08:10.840 can't call up a buddy and go to lunch. You can't carpool or commute with somebody. You can't go on
00:08:16.460 a hunt with somebody. Again, it's, it's foreign to me because I, I operate in a tribe and I built
00:08:23.860 a community of men, but it says that 15% of men have no close friends and probably even a greater
00:08:30.460 number of that or a percentage than that have no friends at all. Guys, that's brutal.
00:08:40.480 If you're one of those men, you got to get yourself out of that cycle.
00:08:44.460 it's desperate it's lonely it leads to point number one 80 of suicides completed by men
00:08:54.060 isolation and solitude lead to that and yet there's 15 and i would argue more of men that
00:09:03.080 don't have a single close friend what a horrible horrible environment to operate in you got to have
00:09:10.240 close friends i'll give you some examples and some things that you can do here shortly
00:09:13.580 but at the end of the day you can do one of four things really where are the good men
00:09:19.440 it's easy it's really easy guys the good men the guys you want to be connected with
00:09:26.040 are in in faith so start going to church and i don't even care what church you go to
00:09:34.020 but start going to church number one go to church and meet men who fear god
00:09:38.700 number two your fitness so if that's the gym if that's the jujitsu dojo or studio or academy
00:09:49.540 if that's going on a hike if that's cycling i don't i don't i don't actually care what it is
00:09:55.840 but but the gym fitness number three is around building and growing a career
00:10:07.000 and where are those guys? They're at Chamber, they're at Rotary, they're at
00:10:12.180 Elks Lodge, they're at Business Network International, they're going to conferences,
00:10:17.960 they're investing in those things. That's where those guys are. And number four is hobbies.
00:10:24.980 What are your hobbies? What are your interests? Do you like painting? Do you like shooting? Do you
00:10:28.820 like underwater basket weaving? Do you like scuba diving? Do you like snorkeling? Do you
00:10:33.520 like traveling the world do you like finances do you like paint i think i already said painting
00:10:38.440 photography website development interior design i don't really care what it is and i know we have
00:10:45.620 this misconception that oh there's some hobbies that are masculine and some that are feminine 0.97
00:10:49.240 i don't know i've never lifted up the skirt of my hobbies to see if it had little balls 0.99
00:10:53.760 or a vagina i don't care i don't care some guys will say well cooking is not masculine other guys 0.99
00:11:00.380 will say it is. It's not masculine or feminine. It's just cooking. Some guys will say, well, 0.99
00:11:05.680 shooting is feminine or masculine and not feminine. I don't, we don't need to get into that.
00:11:11.280 If you're into arts, if you're into drama, if you're into shooting, if you're into jujitsu,
00:11:15.600 if you're into personal defense, if you're into fortifying your home, if you're into photography,
00:11:21.520 if you're into website design, if you're into interior design, if you're into style and fashion,
00:11:26.680 I don't care. Whatever it is, go do your thing. Our model of protect, provide, preside is not
00:11:35.360 discriminatory towards the hobbies and activities that you're interested in. So go find a hobby and
00:11:40.400 an activity that you're interested in. And I promise you will find other men who are interested
00:11:45.540 in the same. Stop isolating. Now, another one, this one's crazy. 63% of men under the age of 30
00:11:56.680 63% of men under the age of 30 are single compared to 34% of women.
00:12:07.640 Now, this kind of makes sense a little bit. 0.83
00:12:11.580 Why would women under the age of 30 be married or single at the rate of 34%
00:12:17.960 while men under the age of 30 be single at the age of 64%? 0.99
00:12:21.900 Because women are marrying older men. 0.99
00:12:23.700 I mean, that's the reality of it, right? 1.00
00:12:24.960 And that makes sense.
00:12:26.040 That tracks. 0.95
00:12:26.680 There's a bit of hypergamy at play here, like women will naturally gravitate towards men who
00:12:35.040 are older, more mature, more successful, whereas men will naturally gravitate towards women who
00:12:41.540 are younger, youthful, vibrant, vitality. People get mad when I say this, but the statistics bear
00:12:48.420 this out. Women are interested in stability and men are interested in vitality. So it's no wonder
00:12:54.960 to me that women will be looking for men who are older more mature more established whereas men
00:13:00.640 will be looking for women who are more youthful more vibrant more uh have more vitality the the
00:13:07.880 essentially the ability to uh have children essentially now we'll come up with all the
00:13:16.660 cultural norms and all the conversations and we'll massage and tweak and adjust and make each other
00:13:21.580 feel good about it, but that's the reality. Okay. Women want safety and security. Men want
00:13:26.820 vitality, youthfulness, vibrance, beauty, et cetera. It's the, just the natural order of things.
00:13:34.620 But what's disturbing to me is that 63% of men under 30 are single, not, not married, single,
00:13:44.780 meaning there is no woman in their life and we see alarming statistics that the fact that men
00:13:52.120 are just not interested in being relation in relationships anymore and look i get it
00:13:56.320 when when you hear this statistic you might be one of those guys who says well why would i
00:14:01.780 why would i be in a relationship there's this big red pill movement meg tau involuntary celibates
00:14:09.620 i've been bucking against this against this for 11 years and everybody's like no no no no no and
00:14:14.060 and you see the guys like Andrew Tate who get arrested
00:14:16.260 and Tristan Tate for trafficking children.
00:14:21.140 I just saw another article today that, what's his name, Russell Brand,
00:14:26.540 the guy that everybody like clamored around,
00:14:28.460 oh, got to get him on my podcast, got to talk to this guy,
00:14:31.160 was just convicted of rape and sexual assault
00:14:35.160 and will be facing some severe penalties.
00:14:39.720 everybody's pursuing these people who don't build their movements or their message or their lives
00:14:48.900 around just being a good and decent man but on the flip side you have guys like scott galloway 0.60
00:14:57.620 the fool the clown who wrote a book about men and notes or notes on men or something i can't 0.99
00:15:05.060 remember what it was called and this guy's the biggest fool of them all you've got another guy 0.99
00:15:08.600 like Ryan Holiday, who talks about ego being the enemy and the obstacle is the way. And you see him 0.98
00:15:13.940 completely lose his mind because he's kind of a mental midget. I don't understand how it has to 1.00
00:15:22.460 be one or the other, because most of us, the guys listening to this podcast, we operate in the
00:15:28.200 medium. All right. We're not those weak, soft soy boys like Scott Galloway or Ryan Holiday.
00:15:36.240 and also we're not the alpha guru fucking dorks like andrew tate and tristan tate 0.98
00:15:44.960 and dan bilzerian and these types of guys who just are clowns most of us operate in the middle 0.97
00:15:54.520 i feel like i'm a decent dude i'm trying to raise my kids i've gone through a divorce i've suffered 0.87
00:16:01.560 through and worked through substance abuse. I've made good decisions. I've made bad decisions.
00:16:09.080 Ultimately, I just care about people. I care about my kids. I care about my business in this
00:16:13.140 movement. I care about putting food on the table for my children. And I care about being a decent
00:16:18.320 human being. But I'm not some fucking soy boy. And I'm not some fucking alpha. I'm somewhere in 0.99
00:16:25.460 the middle and what i see in society today is that everybody is like i gotta pick sides i either
00:16:34.440 gotta be this soy boy nerd or this billy badass alpha and there's no room for middle ground i'm
00:16:41.500 a middle ground guy now look i think we should be protectors providers and presiders sure and so i
00:16:48.720 gravitate more towards that side of things but i also have an appreciation for compassion and
00:16:53.820 empathy and kindness. And to go back to point number three, with 63% of men under 30 not being
00:17:01.720 in a relationship, I can't help but think that we have moved so far to the right side of things
00:17:07.840 where everybody's telling them that women are bad and women are evil and they're only out to get you
00:17:12.700 and they're going to steal half your wealth. Choose better women. Choose better women. 1.00
00:17:18.920 That's the reality of the situation. Choose better women and that's on you. 1.00
00:17:23.820 All right. Number four, men earn just 42% of bachelor degrees, which is the lowest share
00:17:34.320 that's ever existed. Now, you know me, I've talked about this for a decade. I'm not a huge
00:17:42.060 advocate for the common, I'm not going to say traditional, but the common post-secondary
00:17:48.900 education i don't think it's necessary unless you're going to be in stem i just don't think
00:17:54.420 it's necessary so what is stem science technology engineering and math outside of that you don't
00:18:01.580 need a college degree okay and maybe the statistic says that we're wising up but i don't think that's
00:18:07.520 what it says i think what the statistic says is that we're tapping out i think what the statistic
00:18:14.800 says about only 42% of men, or excuse me, of bachelor's degrees are men, I think is
00:18:22.300 underscoring the point that men are not interested in educating themselves. And I can't help but
00:18:32.620 think part of the reason is men are tapping out. We're throwing up our hands. We're like,
00:18:39.460 not interested i don't want anything to do with this environment the rig the the the system is
00:18:46.240 rigged against us the odds are stacked against us and so i'm out and that goes back to the second
00:18:53.920 point that i made where men have no close friends we're isolating it like you can only play a game
00:19:00.380 so long after losing over and over again before you just wash your hands and you say i'm out and
00:19:08.300 this is a game the united states government has created a system and a game as as illustrated by
00:19:15.500 the majority of people believing that the the system is stacked against you and i can't argue
00:19:21.820 that i really can't i used to i want to argue it i do i want to argue that point i want to be able
00:19:31.660 to say that the system is not stacked against you but i can't in good faith i cannot tell you
00:19:37.860 that the system is not stacked against you and when people lose hope they don't act which is
00:19:47.940 part of the design isn't it part of the design is to get you to lose hope so you just acquiesce
00:19:54.480 and surrender whatever you say big brother whatever you say i'm not going to do that
00:19:59.880 i don't think you're going to do that but when i see 42 percent of bachelor's degrees going to men
00:20:07.600 And I can't help but think that it's not that we're just disinterested in getting post-secondary education.
00:20:12.880 It's that we're disinterested in society.
00:20:16.620 Now, look, there's all sorts of other opportunities, trade schools, just going into business.
00:20:21.640 Somebody asked me just the other day, they said, do you have a bachelor's degree?
00:20:24.560 I said, no, but I went to half a semester of college and said, I'm out.
00:20:28.540 But I wasn't disengaging from the system when I said that.
00:20:32.120 what i was doing when i said that is i'm going to go engage with the real world i'm going to go put
00:20:40.860 myself to work and i outproduce i don't know what the number is but a large percentage of
00:20:47.400 bachelor's degree recipients financially so the bachelor's degree is not as important as
00:20:55.660 the the statistic around the level of engagement with men that's it's abysmal
00:21:02.560 and number four number five is and this one's kind of a little interesting but it's a statistic
00:21:11.300 i found is that semen counts have dropped 62 percent since 1973 so a little over a quarter
00:21:20.080 of a century, semen counts have dropped 63%, excuse me, 62%. Why would I add that? Well,
00:21:33.220 it's a measurement of vitality of men. That's what it is. And we can take the corollary
00:21:41.100 statistics with that. When you talk about a man losing semen count, you can also correlate that
00:21:48.520 with strength with ambition with drive with motivation because what drives the number
00:21:54.600 testosterone so frankly at the end of the day it's not just the semen count is lower
00:21:59.580 it's the fact that men are declining drastically as it relates to testosterone well what could that
00:22:08.540 be well let's think about what boosts testosterone and therefore as a byproduct boosts semen counts
00:22:16.680 what is it it's easy it's really easy there's a bunch of gurus who tell you like they trick you
00:22:23.780 and they'll do the glps and the fads and the crazes and all everything else it's it's really
00:22:28.980 easy guys okay so number one is you need to eat meat not the impossible burger but you actually
00:22:37.040 need to eat meat not beans not eggs even you need to eat meat okay so eat meat that's number one
00:22:46.120 number two you need to develop muscle which means that you need to lift heavy things a lot of you
00:22:51.580 guys are running on the treadmill with those ladies cool you look awesome in your spandex
00:22:56.140 but are you lifting heavy objects and if you're not you're missing out on testosterone production
00:23:02.700 eat meat lift heavy things number three have sex okay having sex actually boosts testosterone
00:23:11.580 own. This goes back to point number three. What did I say? 63% of men under 30 are single. Yeah,
00:23:19.680 they're not having sex. They're having sex with their hand. That's not actual sex. You need to 0.99
00:23:25.860 have sex with women in the right environment. I'm not telling you to go plant your seed wherever 1.00
00:23:31.260 you want. I'm not telling you just to be reckless or flippant with a woman who might care about you
00:23:39.640 and you're just using her.
00:23:40.600 That's not what I'm saying at all.
00:23:42.500 I'm saying go build and develop a committed,
00:23:46.300 long-term, faithful, beautiful relationship 1.00
00:23:50.740 and have sex with that woman 0.98
00:23:53.540 and have kids with that woman 1.00
00:23:56.280 and let her know how you feel about her.
00:24:00.300 Men are to penetrate the world.
00:24:03.480 And when I say penetrate,
00:24:04.840 I'm talking about deliberate and forward action.
00:24:08.100 I'm talking about moving forward in business and physical fitness, and I'm also talking about the
00:24:14.420 act of procreation. We are to penetrate a woman. That, again, in righteousness, I want to add that 1.00
00:24:24.360 caveat, in righteousness, but that's what we do as men, and we're not doing it. I just told you 63%
00:24:31.700 of men under 30 are single. That means they're not having sex. That means they're not procreating.
00:24:37.520 that means they're not having children so is it any wonder that our testosterone rates are lower
00:24:43.020 the next one compete you have to go out and compete there are studies that suggest that men
00:24:49.980 who go out and they compete and and more specifically they win if you compete and lose
00:24:57.460 that does not boost your testosterone if you compete and win that boosts your testosterone
00:25:02.740 so go out there and compete with other men put yourself in competitive environments and boost
00:25:09.040 that testosterone rate and the last one number five do manly things go out and lift go out and
00:25:17.840 shoot guns go out and fight go out and adventure go on hikes go on challenges like this is what
00:25:25.820 it means to be a man. I made a joke years and years ago about how men love loud noises, things
00:25:33.920 that smell. And I can't even remember the third at this point, but go do manly things. And everybody
00:25:39.960 knows what a manly thing is. We all know. I talked about hobbies and I said, hey, if you want to go
00:25:45.860 out and pick flowers that might not be masculine nor feminine, but it's not going to boost your
00:25:52.120 testosterone. But if I said, go out there and go fight somebody, that would boost your
00:25:59.140 testosterone. If I said, go out there with some buddies and shoot some lead, that would boost 0.65
00:26:03.640 your testosterone. If I said, go out there and take your boys to a football game or a baseball
00:26:09.200 game or a lacrosse game, or go to the monster truck rally in your local area, that will actually
00:26:18.360 boost your testosterone and we need it because here's the reality of what's happened because 0.87
00:26:26.400 we've declined so much in testosterone uh we've allowed that or asked that our women
00:26:32.640 pick that up and women don't want to do that they will women are very capable of some of those
00:26:39.600 things they they will they'll do those things out of necessity but not out of desire have you ever
00:26:45.960 ever met a woman who says you know i really want to be the man in the relationship i don't think so
00:26:51.720 i'm not saying she hasn't said she wants to be bold and strong and courageous and contribute
00:26:58.040 to the relationship of course she does but she doesn't want to be the man of the relationship
00:27:02.260 that's you you're the man but if you can't be the man by protecting by being capable by creating an
00:27:10.320 environment where she thrives and feels safe and comfortable to express herself and be beautiful
00:27:16.640 and lovely then she's gonna have to do it and then what happens is she's gonna have resentment
00:27:22.440 towards you because you're not being the man so she's gonna start asking acting more manly and
00:27:27.800 then you're gonna have resentment towards her because she's acting like either your mom or
00:27:31.920 your dad even potentially and you're gonna be turned off by that but that's your fault
00:27:36.240 you created that environment you did that or you did not do something
00:27:44.120 boost that testosterone fellas very easy again eat meat compete lift heavy things 0.63
00:27:52.640 have sex do manly things that's it welcome to testosterone production 101 you don't need all 0.93
00:28:00.060 this other stuff you do that stuff your testosterone stuff will go through the roof
00:28:03.900 these are alarming statistics guys and it's something that we need to be very aware of
00:28:09.040 and actively fight against and fight towards creating solutions to these problems
00:28:14.460 again number one men account for nearly 80 percent of all u.s suicides number two 15 percent of men
00:28:22.420 have no close friends which is up from three percent number three 63 percent of men under 30
00:28:29.120 are single compared to 34% of our female counterparts. So we're almost double of what
00:28:37.500 our female counterparts are. They're just marrying older men who have more testosterone and more 1.00
00:28:41.960 capability. That'll go to point number five. Number four is that men earn 42% of the bachelor's 1.00
00:28:48.640 degrees, which is the lowest on record. And number five, sperm counts, which I directly
00:28:53.300 tied towards testosterone production are dwindling. They've dropped 62% since 1973.
00:29:00.380 It's abysmal. We have work to do, which is good. It's part of the reason that we have this movement.
00:29:05.380 We're all here to grow, develop, to get stronger, to get bolder, to build testosterone,
00:29:09.800 and to become the men that we're capable of becoming. So guys, I've got a really,
00:29:15.880 really great conversation with Jim Caviezel. Many of you know who Jim is, whether it's Count of
