00:00:42.560 She was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and other related offenses and pled not

00:00:47.420 guilty. She's currently on trial to figure out what her mental state was at the time she committed

00:00:53.000 this. Here's everything you need to know about this case. In 2022, Patrick and Lindsay Clancy

00:02:25.600 evidence that was provided in court. At around 5.15 that night, Lindsay sends Patrick to pick

00:02:31.400 up the takeout food. Just moments later, she texts him and asks him to also stop and pick up

00:02:37.360 Pedialax. Patrick testified in court that it took him about three minutes to get to the CVS,

00:02:42.260 and you can see him on surveillance camera at that time. At 5 33 p.m he calls Lindsay to tell

00:02:48.580 her that the CVS didn't have the medication that she wanted and she doesn't answer. However she

00:02:53.700 shortly calls him back and told him that the generic brand of this medicine was fine. In court

00:02:58.700 he was asked about Lindsay's demeanor during that phone call and he said that she was quiet, that he

00:03:03.780 thought that she seemed busy and he remembered thinking that maybe she was giving the kids a bath

00:03:08.100 because she seemed preoccupied. At about six minutes before 6 p.m. Patrick leaves the CVS and

00:03:14.800 then begins his drive to the restaurant. He testified that it takes about 10 minutes to get

00:03:19.200 there. After he picks up the takeout food it took him about 10 minutes to return home and he said

00:03:24.020 once he arrived home he started calling out for Lindsay and the kids but no one was answering.

00:04:24.980 out the window. Then he says a short while after that where are the kids Lindsay. The dispatcher

00:04:30.320 at this point tells him not to move her and he says to her look at me look at me open your eyes

00:04:52.360 household they found a severely injured lindsey outside on the ground and the couple's three

00:05:52.580 was needed to prevent the situation from happening. This case is in front of the courts right now and

00:05:57.820 the defense is not arguing whether the children died or whether Lindsay was responsible for this.

00:06:02.760 What they are arguing is that her severe postpartum issues are what caused her to do this

00:06:09.980 and prosecution is fighting that. The defense is presenting several reasons why Lindsay's

00:06:16.080 postpartum psychiatric illness is responsible for what happened. One of those is the fact that she

00:06:22.100 had repeatedly sought medical treatment from the moment that Callan was born. According to the

00:06:27.240 filings by the defense and the lawsuits that the Clancy's have filed, it states that she was

00:06:32.460 experiencing symptoms which again included severe insomnia, intrusive thoughts, dissociation,

00:06:38.340 paranoia, suicidal ideation, racing thoughts, emotional blunting, and according to some

00:06:43.700 allegations, also hallucinations. The defense is arguing that these symptoms are consistent with a

00:08:10.840 defense is not to prove that she was depressed or had postpartum. They have to prove that it was so
