00:00:00.000 Hey everybody, PJ the Belt. As most of you all know at this point, there's a boycott going on
00:00:07.120 in Canada against the United States. Everything from travel to grocery to people booing the
00:00:17.320 American national anthem. A whole lot of disrespect. You got grandmas at the grocery
00:00:24.540 store paying 20 to 30% more for produce because they won't pick up the American strawberries that
00:00:31.520 are 20 to 30% cheaper than the Canadian ones. And they're doing that to somehow show Donald Trump
00:00:38.300 that not to mess with Canada, not to tariff us, so we'll just pay more for it. So there's a whole lot
00:00:45.540 of that going on out here. People are being misled to say the least. They're being gaslit. They're
00:00:52.760 being manipulated by the media. I don't understand what that is, but Canadians seem to be some of the
00:00:58.560 most easily manipulated people and the media's got their number. They know what to do. They know what
00:01:04.380 buttons to touch and press to get them to do what they want and follow the agenda. Something that
00:01:11.000 recently came out though in an article that honestly isn't really surprising but did make me feel more
00:01:18.140 proud to be an Albertan is the fact that Alberta is the province that is buying that stuff the least.
00:01:26.680 Alberta is not buying the BS. Alberta is not buying into the whole elbows up stuff and boycotting the
00:01:33.660 United States. It's not surprising to me. I know that most Albertans have common sense.
00:01:39.780 We understand that the United States is our closest all-life friend and pretty much family.
00:01:44.240 We also understand that literally they're our closest trading partner. We trade more with
00:01:50.740 Montana, Idaho, Texas than we trade with Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba. All right, let's dive in.
00:01:59.880 Very quickly though, if you enjoy these videos, please do me a solid and subscribe. It's free and
00:02:05.220 you can always unsubscribe later if you change your mind. Thank you and back to the video.
00:02:09.720 We're not going to America. I'm not spending our money there. It's Canada first, baby.
00:02:14.100 On social media, Canadians are loud and proud about boycotting trips to the U.S.
00:02:20.820 And then you have the one province. Americans rejoice as numbers prove one Canadian province
00:02:26.880 is refusing to boycott the United States. Guess the province.
00:02:32.060 I just canceled it.
00:02:33.100 Cancelled a two-week vacation, including flights, accommodations, and Disney World tickets.
00:02:39.720 Thanks to insurance, she got most of her money back. But she lost about $1,300 U.S.
00:02:44.960 and says she has no regrets.
00:02:47.180 As Canadians that we, you know, we need to stick together and it's unity. And I raise my children
00:02:52.460 to feel the same, be proud Canadian.
00:02:53.960 That's incredible. She loses $1,300 in this economy with how difficult things are and how expensive
00:03:04.540 everything is nowadays. She cancels a two-week vacation that she had pre-booked. Her kids were
00:03:11.880 probably all excited. We're going to see Mickey Mouse and we're going to see Donald Duck and all that.
00:03:18.680 And she just canceled it. And she lost $1,300. I want to see the husband. Why didn't they interview
00:03:27.360 the husband? I want to see that dude. I got to see his face. He's got some explaining to do. His
00:03:31.800 wife is canceling a trip here over her feelings being hurt. She loses $1,300. Kid's vacation is ruined.
00:03:43.100 And she thinks she's making a difference. She thinks Donald Trump is somehow going to feel that,
00:03:49.540 you know, she's going to show Donald Trump. Man, I'll tell you.
00:03:53.840 Long been a popular destination. According to the U.S. Travel Association, visitors from Canada
00:04:00.340 topped the list last year with more than 20 million visits. It warns that just a 10% dip in these trips
00:04:07.460 could mean a loss of $2.1 billion. WestJet has already seen a 25% drop for U.S. travel
00:04:15.700 since Donald Trump's tariff threat. We're about 40% less over last year. 40% less bookings
00:04:22.440 to the U.S. for leisure travel. He says customers are also questioning flying with U.S. airlines at all.
00:04:30.480 That's true of this Canadian couple now selling their property in California.
00:04:34.620 Yeah. When we go down there to finalize the sale, we'll be flying out of Toronto on a Canadian
00:04:39.520 airline. It's not necessarily cheaper for us, but I'm intentionally avoiding anything I can
00:04:45.020 that's going to put money in the pockets of that system, I guess.
00:04:49.260 So this guy is choosing to fly with Canadian airlines, which are notorious for being a lot
00:04:56.140 more expensive, oftentimes more expensive than the American ones. He's selling his house in California
00:05:04.380 California all because of his Trump derangement syndrome. These people are insane. These people
00:05:11.340 are insane. Like imagine selling a house over the fact that you don't like the president of the
00:05:17.780 country where the house is. It's not like he's targeting you specifically or doing something to
00:05:24.040 you personally, but just that you don't like him. You know, you have your, the Trump derangement
00:05:29.600 syndrome is so strong that you, you know what, I'm going to sell the house and I'm, we're just
00:05:35.620 going to, and we're going to pay more for tickets. Like Canadians are the most easily manipulated
00:05:42.300 people on earth. And there's the list. There's the infamous list of most manipulated, most gaslit
00:05:52.980 Canadian provinces. Why am I not surprised that Quebec is at the top? Why am I not surprised that
00:06:00.520 Quebec is number one, a boycott in the United States because they don't like Trump? 27%, 26.9,
00:06:10.380 pretty much 27% of people from Quebec are boycotting the United States. That is three people out of
00:06:20.920 every 10. And you have Ontario at 22 and not surprised either. I figured it was going to be
00:06:27.500 Ontario or Quebec. And, and I, and I knew I w I was willing to put money that he was going to be
00:06:32.500 Quebec. Those bleeding hearts. It's just, they can't help themselves, those Frenchies. And then Ontario,
00:06:38.800 of course you got Ottawa, Toronto, leftists, it's all bunch of socialist commies. And then you got
00:06:46.700 British Columbia in the West, of course, Vancouver, lower mainland, bunch of communists down there too.
00:06:54.180 So then it says here on the other hand, certain Western Canadian provinces, obviously excluding
00:06:59.400 British Columbia, which doesn't really count. Well, I take that back. Northern British Columbia is okay.
00:07:04.800 They have common sense up there, but the lower mainland, Vancouver and all that area, Victoria, all that stuff.
00:07:10.800 It's just terrible. Just literally terrible. Western Canadian provinces are exhibiting different signs.
00:07:19.180 Saskatchewan decreased travel by only 6%. It's pretty high for Saskatchewan. You know, Saskatchewan is pretty close to Alberta.
00:07:27.180 Well, Manitoba saw a dip of 3.8. Hmm. Surprise. That's surprising. That bit is surprising. The fact that Manitoba was less manipulated into boycotting the United States than Saskatchewan was. That bit right there is surprising.
00:07:43.680 Perhaps the most interesting of all is Alberta's reaction. The boycott hasn't had a significant impact on Albertans compared to Ontario and Quebec with a dip of only 2.6%.
00:07:55.680 A remarkable stat compared to other provinces. Literally a tenth out of 102 people, two and a half people in Alberta are willing to boycott the United States.
00:08:09.400 You take a hundred people and barely three people. The other 97 are like, no, why would we do that? Why would we boycott the United States? They're our closest ally.
00:08:19.400 We got no issue with them. We got issue. We got an issue with our federal government that's corrupt and has been making our lives worse for the past decade. Common sense.
00:08:28.400 More Canadians come to America than tourists from any other country. Last year, Canadians made over 20 million visits to the U.S. and spent more than $20 billion here.
00:08:40.400 But this year, many are not coming to America, as I saw firsthand on a recent trip to Vermont right near the Canadian border.
00:08:47.400 In a normal summer, the Kingdom Trails in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom near the Quebec border would be teeming with Canadian bikers.
00:08:56.400 But executive director Abby Long says this season has been a rough ride.
00:09:01.400 We have seen a 50% decline in our Canadian members.
00:09:05.400 25 miles away at Hill Farmstead Brewery, business is off by a third.
00:09:10.400 We just had a large festival last weekend and 50 or 60 of the ticket holders just did not come.
00:09:18.400 Last year, 20 million Canadians visited the U.S. That's over a quarter of all the tourists who come here.
00:09:25.400 But in June, car crossings to America dropped by 33%.
00:09:30.400 That's the sixth consecutive month of decline.
00:09:33.400 Air travel has also plummeted.
00:09:35.400 And I have many U.S. friends, American friends, that I will not be seeing in person for a while because of this.
00:09:43.400 But that's c'est la vie, as we say here in Quebec.
00:09:48.400 Jay Peak is a mountain resort just a few miles south of the border.
00:09:52.400 In wintertime, typically half their season pass holders are Canadian.
00:09:57.400 Most of them French-speaking Quebecois.
00:10:00.400 That's clear even in summertime.
00:10:02.400 The signage that we have here is mostly all bilingual.
00:10:06.400 General manager Steve Wright has proof.
00:10:08.400 I have the maple leaf here.
00:10:10.400 That the bonds here run deep.
00:10:12.400 My dad is Canadian.
00:10:14.400 Literally in your blood.
00:10:15.400 Big connection, not just the dollars and the cents, but the DNA.
00:10:20.400 Even so, as the ski season wound down here and it came time to renew, many long-time Canadian season pass holders said no.
00:10:29.400 We are 30% to 35% off.
00:10:32.400 And you're sure that this is overall their antipathy to what's coming out of the White House?
00:10:38.400 Well, yeah, as much as I guess you can be sure of anything.
00:10:41.400 I called a hundred households myself, Canadian households who had purchased season passes last year by this point, who have not yet purchased.
00:10:48.400 You called them directly.
00:10:49.400 I called them directly.
00:10:50.400 Personally, I got through to probably 70% of them.
00:10:53.400 And to a household, they referred back to the 51st state narrative as being emblematic of the reason that they're not coming.
00:11:00.400 Bet you they're not Albertans.
00:11:02.400 Probably from Quebec.
00:11:04.400 We've seen 30% of our Canadian golf groups cancel.
00:11:07.400 We do 42 weeks worth of hockey tournaments.
00:11:10.400 We're expecting that business to be upwards of 40% by the end of the year.
00:11:13.400 In Quebec, Philippe Bachon's duty-free shop should be bustling this time of year.
00:11:18.400 But right now, it's very disappointing.
00:11:21.400 Bachon says Canadian business is down close to 50%.
00:11:25.400 Well, what do you think is going to happen if you're booing their national anthem?
00:11:30.400 Like, Americans never retaliated that way.
00:11:35.400 You never heard them booing O Canada.
00:11:39.400 Doesn't happen.
00:11:40.400 But we booed their national anthem, which was a shame.
00:11:45.400 What do you think is going to happen?
00:11:47.400 They're realizing, oh, so our neighbors to the north, our cousins to the north, who we have nothing but love for,
00:11:54.400 are literally attacking us.
00:11:56.400 They're booing our anthem.
00:11:58.400 Something that means so much to Americans.
00:12:01.400 What do you think is going to happen?
00:12:02.400 Of course they're going to boycott us back.
00:12:04.400 At least some of them.
00:12:06.400 We did not lay off anybody.
00:12:08.400 But we need to be careful in ordering and all that.
00:12:12.400 But smaller duty-free shops along the border are on the brink.
00:12:16.400 Four to six stores are planning to.
00:12:19.400 If it's going on, they will close by fall.
00:12:22.400 To close for good.
00:12:23.400 Yeah.
00:12:24.400 Yeah.
00:12:25.400 After 30, 40 years of existing.
00:12:28.400 We're here on the border with our little white flag.
00:12:31.400 And it's not because of bad management that we're in that situation.
00:12:35.400 It's because of politics.
00:12:37.400 Look, and I feel for business owners, especially you see people like that business owners.
00:12:42.400 I have great sympathy for.
00:12:45.400 But this guy, he's from Quebec, and that is the province.
00:12:51.400 Actually, it's the province that is the most hostile towards the United States.
00:12:56.400 If your people are boycotting America, expect America to eventually catch on to it and boycott you back.
00:13:05.400 And the thing is that the American dollars is stronger than the Canadian dollar.
00:13:10.400 They can eat.
00:13:11.400 The American economy is 10 times bigger than the Canadian one.
00:13:15.400 And there's 10 times the population, nine to 10 times the population.
00:13:20.400 So Canadians need to realize that just because you're feeling offended or because you believe that I'm going to show them and elbows up or whatever else.
00:13:32.400 Facts don't care.
00:13:35.400 And America is the number one economy in the world by far.
00:13:41.400 They're our closest ally, our biggest trading partner.
00:13:45.400 If we go on an all out trade trade war with them in an economic and financial war, we're going to lose really quickly.
00:13:53.400 It's the proverbial egg versus the rock.
00:13:57.400 So, again, I feel for that business owner.
00:14:00.400 But I get why it's happening.
00:14:03.400 My family has owned property in Vermont all my life.
00:14:07.400 Good for you.
00:14:08.400 I went to ski in Vermont when I was like three years old.
00:14:11.400 We hiked the long trail.
00:14:12.400 I mean, it's so beautiful.
00:14:14.400 And yet her family has now resolved to sell their home there.
00:14:17.400 The process of selling this property for my entire family has been extremely difficult emotionally.
00:14:25.400 It's almost like we have to mourn this moment.
00:14:29.400 But you don't have to sell the house.
00:14:31.400 You don't have to.
00:14:32.400 You can just be normal.
00:14:34.400 You can just live your life.
00:14:36.400 You don't have to be so offended that you have to sell a house and literally break family history.
00:14:44.400 This one right here is an ad put up by the tourism authority in Quebec trying to get Americans to stop boycotting Quebec so that they get them back because they're feeling the pinch and all that.
00:15:02.400 So, yeah, so they're basically trying to entice Americans to return to visit Canada and the Quebec area again.
00:15:09.400 Sorry, I don't speak French.
00:15:11.400 I'm just visiting.
00:15:12.400 Well, then welcome to Canada's Eastern Townships.
00:15:15.400 Where are you visiting from?
00:15:16.400 I'm American.
00:15:17.400 Ah, okay.
00:15:19.400 Come and hug it out in the Eastern Townships.
00:15:35.400 Peace.
00:15:36.400 Alright, thanks for watching.
00:15:38.400 Thank you for subscribing.
00:15:40.400 Special thanks to those of you who have donated to this project.
00:15:43.400 It is much appreciated and it helps me continue making videos.
00:15:47.400 See you on the next one.
00:15:48.400 Peace.
00:15:49.400 Bye.
00:15:50.400 Bye.
