Summary

The Canadian federal government continues taking a page from the Chinese Communist Handbook and banning guns left and right, while basically making criminals out of law-abiding citizens. A country where lawful gun owners are harassed and disarmed by their own government, while the criminals are the only ones with the weapons.

Transcript

00:00:00.000 The idea that Canadians are going to give back their guns and they're supposed to do it through Canada Post and they would be housed at Canada Post offices across the country.
00:00:08.260 The Mounties recently prohibited the gun, which makes it illegal to own.
00:00:13.340 This caught us completely off guard because we were quite confident because, I mean, we built this thing specifically to be non-restricted.
00:00:20.980 Today, our government is finishing the job, adding a further 179 unique makes and models of assault-style weapons to the list of prohibited firearms here in Canada.
00:00:32.300 This prohibition takes effect immediately.
00:00:35.420 Hey, everybody. PJ. Happy Friday.
00:00:39.040 Look, I don't know if it's because I'm kind of a paranoid guy, but something I've noticed over the years is that there isn't or hasn't been a single government
00:00:49.460 that genuinely cares for its people and has the best interest of its people at heart, its citizens,
00:00:56.560 that wants to damage, take away, diminish their ability to defend themselves.
00:01:03.980 You guys south of the border will understand that.
00:01:06.520 You have the God-given right enshrined in the Constitution known as the Second Amendment,
00:01:12.140 the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
00:01:14.440 You see here, just north of the border, we don't have that right.
00:01:20.620 We have the ability to get a weapon if we, you know, satisfy the government's desire to know whether we're entitled or not to get it.
00:01:31.640 Here is a privilege.
00:01:34.260 And that privilege gets affected, restricted, and diminished at the government's whim.
00:01:42.940 Whenever they want to take it away from us, whether we've broken the law or not, it gets affected.
00:01:51.000 And that's what today's video is going to be about.
00:01:53.640 We're going to be looking into certain things that have happened, recent developments when it comes to gun ownership here in Canada,
00:02:02.040 and specifically regarding Alberta.
00:02:04.620 Let's dive in.
00:02:05.500 Very quickly, though, if you enjoy these videos, please do me a solid and subscribe.

00:02:14.000 Thank you, and back to the video.
00:02:16.320 A Calgary-based firearms company says the RCMP has thrown it into crisis mode.
00:02:21.920 That's the head of Sterling Arms International, J.R. Cox, is holding a rifle his company makes.
00:02:28.340 And Cox says the Mounties recently prohibited the gun, which makes it illegal to own.
00:02:33.740 This caught us completely off guard, because we were quite confident, because, I mean, we built this thing specifically to be non-restricted.
00:02:41.980 The RCMP told CBC News it received the firearm in June and completed a technical inspection.
00:02:48.200 And that inspection determined that it was a variant of a prohibited firearm.
00:02:53.040 The Canadian Shooting Sports Association said in a post on X that the classification means owners of that rifle can no longer use it at the range or in the field.
00:03:04.300 And Canada's National Firearms Association said it was, quote,
00:03:08.100 the last remaining pistol caliber carbine still eligible for competitive use in Canada.
00:03:14.280 Browse online Canadian gun forums like the Canada Guns subreddit, and you'll see plenty of strong reactions over this move.
00:03:22.240 With concern from gun owners about what would happen should they be using newly prohibited rifles without knowing it.
00:03:29.740 Gun control advocates, meanwhile, say industry misclassifications pose a huge public safety concern, as well as inconvenience.
00:03:38.360 And they're continuing to push for the process to be changed so that the RCMP vets and classifies new models before they hit the market.
00:03:47.700 So the Canadian federal government continues taking a page from the Chinese Communist Handbook.
00:03:53.880 Banning guns left and right while basically making criminals out of law-abiding citizens.
00:03:58.620 Because they suddenly find themselves in possession of what the government just designated as an illegal firearm.
00:04:05.740 You know what actually poses a huge safety concern?
00:04:08.300 A country where lawful gun owners are harassed and disarmed by their own government, while the criminals are the only ones with the weapons.
00:04:16.820 Especially in a country where crime has increased to the point of overwhelming police resources.
00:04:22.480 Those pushing for gun control should face the reality that regardless of their sensationalism and manipulation,
00:04:29.700 gun permit holders are the population who is least likely to commit an offense with a firearm.
00:04:35.200 Their idea of a so-called safe society is for law-abiding citizens to be completely unarmed and at the mercy of those who don't obey the law and have all the guns, whether prohibited or not.
00:04:49.080 What are they going to ban next?
00:04:51.160 Blow torches?
00:04:52.560 Lighters?
00:04:53.460 Wait a minute.
00:04:54.560 What?
00:04:55.240 They look like the real thing.
00:04:57.240 And police are growing tired of them.
00:04:59.580 You can imagine something like this, pointed at an officer or seen by a member of the public in a dark alley in the middle of the night.
00:05:07.740 We're going to think this is a gun and we're going to treat it as if it's real.
00:05:11.180 Late last month in this East Van neighborhood, police responded to reports of a man with a gun in his home.
00:05:16.980 It prompted a large response and took several hours, but turns out it was one of those gun look-alike lighters.
00:05:23.340 Anecdotally, I can tell you we're receiving multiple calls each week.
00:05:27.100 Sergeant Steve Addison says each call can deploy a dozen officers or more, tying up valuable resources.
00:05:34.220 Gun sheep layers are frankly, they're a bit of a menace.
00:05:36.920 City Councilor Mike Classen is pushing a new bylaw to ban the sale of these novelty lighters in Vancouver stores.
00:05:43.360 They don't serve any real purpose and they create a huge amount of risk where police come out in big numbers because they think they're real weapons and potentially somebody could get hurt.
00:05:53.960 Well, the whole thing is just so silly and so immature.
00:05:56.460 This firearms advocate calls the bylaw impractical and a waste of time.
00:06:01.640 What does that look like?
00:06:03.180 Are you, you know, somebody that has a gun-shaped lighter, maybe that walked in from Burnaby that gets caught with it, you know, is lighting a cigarette or something?
00:06:12.040 Are they going to face a firearm charge?
00:06:14.160 Are they going to just face confiscation?
00:06:15.880 Yep.
00:06:16.880 Believe it or not, in Vancouver, they're actually trying to ban lighters because some of them look like toy guns.
00:06:22.900 You could literally get arrested for having one, confiscated, fined, handcuffed, all because your lighter wasn't government approved.
00:06:32.320 This is what happens when soft-handed, bleeding-heart politicians start confusing toys with threats.
00:06:38.900 And of course, it never ends there.
00:06:40.600 That tells you everything you need to know about the culture this federal government is creating.
00:06:55.580 One of fear, paranoia, and absolute submission.
00:06:59.120 Thankfully, Alberta is not playing along with the craziness.
00:07:03.860 81% of Albertans rejected the liberal government's gun grab.
00:07:08.020 And the Alberta government flat-out said that they're not enforcing it.
00:07:11.700 They're not going to be confiscating legally obtained firearms.
00:07:15.120 Because here, we still believe in common sense and the right to defend yourself without having to apologize for it.
00:07:21.360 And the gun buyback program, which has been highly controversial, this is one of those things that you say Mark Carney could pivot on.
00:07:28.980 You say it's costly, it's ineffective, and really, he should scrap it.
00:07:33.060 Give us your sense of why that's necessary.
00:07:35.440 The gun buyback program was put in place by the liberal government under Justin Trudeau.
00:07:39.620 Mark Carney wasn't part of that policy.
00:07:41.200 He inherited this policy.
00:07:42.780 And the policy, frankly, doesn't work.
00:07:44.320 The government of Justin Trudeau budgeted $200 million for a gun buyback program.
00:07:50.080 It's now spiraling up to $500 million.
00:07:54.140 We'll probably close down on a billion dollars.
00:07:55.920 And they've so far bought back less than 10% of the guns that they had targeted.
00:07:59.920 The RCMP says it's ineffectual.
00:08:02.040 The government of Ontario is not participating in it because they think it's appropriately a waste of resources.
00:08:06.980 The idea that Canadians are going to give back their guns, and they're supposed to do it through Canada Post,
00:08:11.420 and they would be housed at Canada Post offices across the country.
00:08:15.120 It doesn't work in practice.
00:08:16.860 It doesn't make the country safer.
00:08:18.360 It's costing an extraordinary amount of money that could be spent more efficiently.
00:08:22.280 And I think an objective analysis of the program.
00:08:25.200 Liberals can still be in favor of gun control.
00:08:27.080 They can still have their bona fides as the pro-gun control party.
00:08:30.920 But this particular program, scrapping it, would save hundreds of millions of dollars,
00:08:34.940 and it would probably make the country safer.
00:08:36.540 All right.
00:08:37.100 Thanks for watching.
00:08:38.220 Thank you for subscribing.
00:08:39.280 Special thanks to those of you who have donated to this project.
00:08:42.600 It is much appreciated, and it helps me continue making videos.
00:08:46.340 See you on the next one.
00:08:47.740 Peace.
