Summary

What many saw as nothing more than a stall tactic by Ottawa and their allies has actually blown up in their faces. Instead of slowing down momentum, the delays have only fired people up. Pro-independence organizations like the Alberta Prosperity Project continue to seek consistent support across the province, and other independence groups are getting louder, sharper, and more creative about how they push for freedom. Quebec politicians are now meeting with Alberta s independence leaders, and the United States of America could be a wild card.

00:00:00.000 And then we're going to have a complicating factor and an additional layer of uncertainty
00:00:03.960 because we don't know what the Americans are going to do, and particularly Donald Trump.
00:00:08.380 You know, Alberta is not only culturally aligned with the United States because a lot of people
00:00:15.720 don't understand this. The first wave of immigration of settlers was actually from
00:00:20.400 the United States, not from Europe. It was the cattle drives coming up after the Civil War in
00:00:26.420 the U.S. So our initial origins as a province and our settlers, many of them are from the United
00:00:33.700 States. So we have much more ties to the U.S. than perhaps any other province in Canada.
00:00:39.620 I think in time we could see greater pressure and support from the Trump administration
00:00:44.460 to address and help Albertans address their grievances. So I think those are wild cards
00:00:50.660 that are difficult to predict. But I think they are more likely to influence independence
00:00:58.260 than they are to influence people saying, yeah, OK, I'm going to stay in this, what many Albertans
00:01:05.960 believe is an abusive relationship with Ottawa. As the month of November gets closer, Alberta finds
00:01:13.180 itself at a crossroads. That's when the Superior Court of Alberta is expected to finally weigh in
00:01:19.560 on the independence referendum question. What many saw as nothing more than a stall tactic by Ottawa
00:01:25.980 and their allies has actually blown up in their faces. Instead of slowing down momentum, the delays
00:01:33.480 have only fired people up. The polls show that support for independence hasn't slipped. If anything,
00:01:40.120 it's stronger. Pro-independence organizations like the Alberta Prosperity Project continue to seek
00:01:45.960 consistent support across the province. And other independence groups are getting louder, sharper,
00:01:52.380 and more creative about how they push for freedom. And it's not just local anymore. Quebec politicians
00:01:59.880 are now meeting with Alberta's independence leaders. Then, of course, there's the wild card,
00:02:05.380 the United States of America. Under President Trump, where it is, Alberta could expect recognition
00:02:13.160 after a successful referendum. That's a huge deal. Let's get into it.

00:02:29.060 Would you recognize a free and independent Alberta in the event of a successful...
00:02:35.060 An independent Quebec might recognize a free and independent Alberta, but the province of Quebec
00:02:40.340 Canada does not have that jurisdiction itself.
00:02:43.880 Est-ce que je peux vous ramener à la question, ma question ?
00:02:45.880 Saint-Pierre Plamondon just had a successful visit to Alberta. We built a number of bridges
00:02:52.760 with independence leaders in Alberta. Are you planning in the near future to travel to Alberta
00:02:58.660 yourself or meet with leaders of Alberta's independence movement?
00:03:03.000 I had thought about it, but I understand that since Paul did it, it is not necessary for me to do that trip.
00:03:09.940 But I'm very open to this idea. We have to start all independentist voices and leaders to explain who we are,
00:03:22.220 what we want, the way we would do it, and what it would be the morning after. We have to do that.
00:03:29.000 This is what I do when I go in Washington also, when I go in Paris or everywhere. And we have to do that in Canada also,
00:03:35.760 because if it comes, we've got to make it smooth and best for everybody.
00:03:42.760 When you see Quebec politicians crossing into Alberta to talk about independence,
00:03:48.040 you know the movement is real. Paul Saint-Pierre, who looks to be the next Premier of Quebec,
00:03:54.480 came to Alberta and sat down with Western leaders. He didn't just nod politely either.
00:04:00.680 He flat out said that Quebec would work with Alberta on independence.
00:04:05.680 He pointed out that an independent Quebec could actually help a future independent Alberta on the world stage.
00:04:12.960 Imagine that. Two adversarial provinces working together to get out from under Ottawa's globalist government.
00:04:20.960 Even federal leaders like Yves-Francois Blanchet of the Bloc are hinting that an independent Quebec would
00:04:28.960 recognize Alberta the second it stood on its own two feet.
00:04:32.960 And folks, if you think that doesn't change the math in North America, you're not paying attention.
00:04:38.960 Things are about to get very interesting come 2026.
00:04:43.960 But any rational person with a cursory view of history knows that Ottawa is not going to give us anything meaningful or lasting.
00:04:51.960 They might give us an inch in regards to the nine non-negotiables that you stated to Kearney, but we are demanding a mile.
00:04:59.960 You need to draw a very definitive line in the sand immediately as far as when is his last day to comply.
00:05:06.960 Otherwise, you'll be seen as having bark and no bite, and you'll be done politically.
00:05:13.960 And I really want you to stick around.
00:05:22.960 There are many more systematic problems in this country than just those nine items,
00:05:27.960 and the only way to deal with most of them is to become an independent country
00:05:32.960 and take as many other Western provinces as possible.
00:05:37.960 Premier, would you close this one for us?
00:05:40.960 Well, I'll tell you where I started.
00:05:42.960 So my starting point was that I wanted to see some changes in legislation by the time they came back into session.
00:05:49.960 So they've come back into session just as of earlier this week, September 15th.
00:05:55.960 The Prime Minister and I have had a really good meeting of the minds on a lot of the things that I've put on the table.
00:06:02.960 Not all of them, not yet, but we're kind of 80% in agreement, which is better than it was with the previous guy.
00:06:07.960 But you've probably heard him say that he wants to have a second announcement on major projects by Grey Cup.
00:06:14.960 So that's kind of my line in the sand because I have told him that I believe that Justin Trudeau created the separatist uprising in Alberta.
00:06:23.960 And the only way it's going to be addressed is if he undoes a lot of the terrible policies that happened under the Trudeau Liberals.
00:06:29.960 November 16th is the date of the Grey Cup.
00:06:31.960 So that's the new line.
00:06:33.960 Now, while the movement is picking up steam, there's another problem brewing.
00:06:39.960 Patience with Danielle Smith is running thin.
00:06:43.960 At every so-called sovereignty town hall or Alberta Next panel, Albertans are lining up to tell her the same thing.
00:06:52.960 Ottawa is never going to fix itself.
00:06:55.960 And the only real way forward is outright separation.
00:06:59.960 But Smith keeps talking about giving the Liberals a chance to change.
00:07:04.960 Albertans know better.
00:07:06.960 Liberals stall.
00:07:07.960 They lie.
00:07:08.960 And Carney's whole strategy is to run on the clock.
00:07:12.960 And it sure looks like Smith is letting him.
00:07:15.960 Independent supporters know that time matters.
00:07:18.960 President Trump is in office now.
00:07:21.960 And he's the biggest ally Alberta could ever ask for.
00:07:24.960 But he won't be there forever.
00:07:26.960 The windows open.
00:07:27.960 And if Alberta doesn't move, it could slam shut before anyone realizes what's been lost.
00:07:33.960 Look at what's happening.
00:07:39.960 In the days since Charlie's death, we have seen how his legacy has touched so many millions around the world.
00:07:47.960 In Calgary, Canada, thousands gathered at City Hall to sing the American national anthem and raise up posters with the name Charlie Kirk.
00:07:59.960 spending at City Hall to sing the American national anthem for David Stirling over and over.
00:08:05.960 All right guys, we're going to officially thank the U.S. family again.
