Transcript

00:00:00.000 Okay, things are getting very tense between the United States and Canada right now.
00:00:05.180 And when I say Canada is on the verge of an all-out American intervention,
00:00:09.520 I'm not only talking about trade here.
00:00:11.660 I'm referring to a full-blown economic and national security escalation
00:00:17.000 that is happening in real time.
00:00:19.680 Because the Canadian government has now opened the door to China
00:00:23.640 in what they're calling a strategic security partnership.
00:00:27.800 And let's be clear, China is not a neutral country.
00:00:32.560 It's a communist dictatorship.
00:00:35.240 It's the primary adversary of the United States,
00:00:38.540 and its entire global strategy is to undermine American power
00:00:42.740 using economic dependencies and technological infiltration.
00:00:47.860 And now Canada is letting Chinese electric vehicles in,
00:00:52.120 which U.S. security agencies have already warned
00:00:54.900 can function as data collection and espionage platforms.
00:00:58.720 They're flooding into the Canadian market,
00:01:01.620 basically turning Canada into a backdoor entry point into North America.
00:01:07.240 And that's why Trump is threatening 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods.
00:01:12.580 Because from Washington's point of view, this is no longer about trade.
00:01:16.660 This is about China using Canada as a vassal state
00:01:20.720 to bypass U.S. security and economic defense systems.
00:01:26.060 And once you hit that level, you're now officially in intervention territory.
00:01:31.880 Economic first, for sure, but security is likely to follow.
00:01:36.980 And that's why this is escalating very quickly.
00:01:40.880 Well, this is a Fox News alert.
00:01:42.220 This morning, President Trump is threatening Canada with tariffs.
00:01:45.200 If the country makes a deal with China.
00:01:47.940 Now, as Canada appears to oppose the U.S. acquisition of Greenland,
00:01:51.880 Trump wrote this on Truth Social.
00:01:53.820 If Governor Carney, notice he said Governor there,
00:01:56.020 thinks he is going to make Canada a drop-off port for China
00:01:59.240 to send goods and products into the United States,
00:02:01.820 he's sorely mistaken.
00:02:03.500 China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it,
00:02:06.420 including the destruction of their businesses,
00:02:08.680 social fabric and general way of life.
00:02:11.120 If Canada makes a deal with China,
00:02:12.460 it will immediately be hit with a 100% tariff
00:02:16.240 against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.
00:02:20.180 What do you make of this latest threat against Canada?
00:02:22.500 100% for, quote, Governor Carney.
00:02:25.060 President Trump dominated Davos.
00:02:28.520 And his speech in Davos was great.
00:02:30.940 And he talked about Greenland.
00:02:32.600 The fact of the matter,
00:02:33.360 and I just wish people would stop clutching their pearls,
00:02:36.720 Greenland has been on the table for a long time,
00:02:38.760 since 1867,
00:02:40.460 when the then-secretary of state Steward,
00:02:42.900 when he bought Alaska,
00:02:44.000 so it's called Steward's Folly,
00:02:45.840 he also wanted to buy Greenland at the time.
00:02:48.180 Fast forward to President Truman.
00:02:50.600 Truman was willing to buy Greenland as well.
00:02:52.760 We're doing it for national security reasons.
00:02:55.520 And for Canada, as an example,
00:02:57.700 to take Chinese goods,
00:03:00.120 President Trump is exactly right on providing tariffs.
00:03:03.020 He is doing this for the security of the United States.
00:03:06.480 And I applaud him for it.
00:03:07.860 And he's very smart about what he's doing.
00:03:09.880 I just wish people would back off a little bit,
00:03:12.280 understand the national security elements,
00:03:14.360 understand the history,
00:03:15.720 and they'll do just fine.
00:03:16.840 But stop going to this Trump derangement syndrome.
00:03:20.140 Just stop it and understand what we're trying to do
00:03:22.260 with national security.
00:03:23.880 Now let's talk about who's driving this Canada-China pivot.
00:03:28.400 Mark Carney.
00:03:29.500 The same man who led Brookfield Global Assets,
00:03:33.480 who may still be financially tied to that company,
00:03:37.200 and who has longstanding business ties
00:03:40.020 that benefit from deals with China.
00:03:42.860 Whether it's lowering canola tariffs,
00:03:45.720 big electric vehicle imports,
00:03:47.880 or broad investment partnerships,
00:03:50.760 Carney is profiting.
00:03:52.960 But that's not even his biggest gain.
00:03:55.380 Politically, Carney is using this fight
00:03:58.400 with the United States as a distraction.
00:04:01.300 He doesn't want to run on a decade of liberal failure,
00:04:05.120 taxes, debt, energy crisis, economic decay,
00:04:09.440 none of that.
00:04:10.560 He wants the campaign to be about hate for Donald Trump.
00:04:14.840 He's turning every criticism of Trump into his platform,
00:04:19.200 trying to convince Canadians
00:04:20.720 that this is a struggle against American coercion,
00:04:25.000 even as the evidence points towards him
00:04:27.660 using this Trump fight
00:04:29.140 to cover for his own political weaknesses
00:04:31.740 and Brookfield-related economic deals.
00:04:35.660 When we're Canadian, inclusive, fair, ambitious,
00:04:39.780 Canada grows.
00:04:40.480 Canada and the United States
00:04:45.340 have built a remarkable partnership
00:04:47.260 in the economy, in security,
00:04:50.360 and in rich cultural exchange.
00:04:53.680 But Canada doesn't live because of the United States.
00:04:58.620 Canada thrives because we are Canadian.
00:05:03.060 I said we had to do two things.
00:05:04.760 The second is...
00:05:06.320 First is to be a bastion.
00:05:07.820 The second is to be a beacon.
00:05:09.280 An example to a world that's at sea.
00:05:13.500 In a time of rising populism
00:05:15.800 and ethnic nationalism,
00:05:17.960 Canada can show how diversity
00:05:19.680 is a strength, not a weakness.
00:05:22.880 In a time of rising walls
00:05:24.740 and thickening borders,
00:05:26.300 we can demonstrate how a country
00:05:27.920 can be both open and secure,
00:05:30.300 welcoming and strong,
00:05:32.220 principled and powerful.
00:05:34.460 There are literally billions of people
00:05:36.380 who aspire to what we have built.
00:05:38.280 A pluralistic society that works.
00:05:41.680 A public square that's loud,
00:05:43.080 diverse and free.
00:05:44.240 U.S. President Donald Trump
00:05:45.440 is threatening 100% tariffs on Canadian goods
00:05:48.300 if the federal government goes through
00:05:49.880 with a new trade deal with China.
00:05:51.900 The president took to truth social writing,
00:05:54.160 quote,
00:05:54.300 If Governor Carney thinks he's going to make Canada
00:05:56.840 a drop-off port for China
00:05:58.420 to send goods and products to the United States,
00:06:00.980 he is sorely mistaken.
00:06:03.120 He continues to say that China will, quote,
00:06:05.100 eat Canada alive if the Prime Minister
00:06:07.080 chooses to shake hands with the country's president.
00:06:09.760 The comments follow Carney's trip to Beijing last week,
00:06:12.500 where a deal was struck that would allow China
00:06:14.460 to send 49,000 electric vehicles to Canada
00:06:17.100 at a 6.1% tariff rate.
00:06:19.660 Let's be clear.
00:06:21.520 American policy in this hemisphere
00:06:23.360 has one clear objective.
00:06:25.600 Keep Chinese influence out of the continent.
00:06:28.460 What happened in Venezuela is a case study.
00:06:31.500 Chinese economic leverage
00:06:33.260 led to political and security challenges.
00:06:36.480 The United States cannot afford that same pattern
00:06:39.300 north of its border.
00:06:41.060 And President Trump is pushing a national security agenda
00:06:44.140 like nothing we've seen before.
00:06:46.160 From the Greenland deal,
00:06:48.120 which Canada publicly opposed,
00:06:50.160 to this latest 100% tariff threats
00:06:52.860 if Canada continues down this path.
00:06:55.740 Trump isn't just talking economics.
00:06:58.680 He's talking security
00:06:59.980 and potentially military posture.
00:07:03.780 And Carney's strategic cousin up with China,
00:07:06.460 both for political leverage
00:07:08.440 and possible personal gains,
00:07:10.720 is turning Canada into a potential
00:07:12.780 national security threat
00:07:14.700 in the eyes of Washington.
00:07:17.040 This escalation is far from over
00:07:19.420 and the stakes have never been higher.
00:07:35.160 I'll see you in the next episode.
00:07:37.340 Cheers.
00:07:44.700 Cheers.
00:07:49.700 Cheers.
00:07:58.140 Cheers.
00:08:00.380 Cheers.
00:08:01.240 Cheers.
00:08:01.300 ают
00:08:02.560 .
00:08:03.240 We'll be right back.
