Playing to Win - 093 - Mike Van Houdt - Colombia - Car Reviews - Relationships

00:00:00.000 all right we're live we're right we're live boom baby we're live 98th installment of playing or

00:00:07.980 sorry 93rd installment of the playing to win podcast series you guys are in for a real treat

00:00:11.600 today uh mike is an absolute dope soul and a champion in life and he does play to win so i

00:00:17.620 want you guys to uh grab a pen and a piece of paper and take a few notes because uh this is

00:00:22.320 a man of many many talents that i ran into in a rally this summer um let's start with that um

00:00:29.260 kind of like the batman origin story like how we cross paths because normally with these car rallies

00:00:33.700 and i've done quite a few of them they're they're mostly like exotic cars uh always gasoline powered

00:00:38.900 i think you were the first guy to bring a tesla on a rally and probably a lot of people were

00:00:47.720 whispering under the breath like who's this dude with whispering nobody was whispering i was getting

00:00:52.720 murdered in the chat were you yeah man yeah so like i've always had gas cars i have a 911 turbo

00:00:58.800 uh i've had an r8 spider you know the cheap men's rainbow um but i was like i want to try something 0.88

00:01:04.800 different and obviously because i'm in the car space and i just like to do something unique

00:01:07.900 so i thought man you know what when when elon's like we're gonna launch this we're gonna launch

00:01:12.020 the fastest car four-door sedan and at the time i was married so i'm like you know what nobody can

00:01:15.760 really go in this r8 it's just me and my kid three of us we can't go anywhere so i'm like okay i'm

00:01:19.600 gonna buy this thing and maybe it's gonna blow up on the channel well guess what it didn't blow up

00:01:23.460 it all in the u.s all the cars blew up and i was the second one in canada to get it and went

00:01:27.120 and i can tell you a quick story the same money i spent on this car i spent 180k plus taxes if i

00:01:33.640 spent a little bit more money i could have ordered a gt3 i could have rs and i could have had one and

00:01:39.100 now it's worth 300 and my car's worth 110 yeah i know they've been they've been slashing away at

00:01:44.640 the prices of all electric cars and elon's been slashing away the price of teslas as well

00:01:49.280 interesting that you say that i was out with serge the other day um i think he was on the rally in

00:01:54.380 the summer when you were there and he brought his black gt3 and he just took delivery of a gray gt3

00:02:00.120 rs a 992 generation i took it out for drive close to super burner up north i don't know if you've

00:02:05.320 been up there but there's some nice twisty roads that thing is insane dude it handles like nothing

00:02:10.700 you've ever driven it's it's unbelievable it's not it's not super fast but on corners it's ridiculous

00:02:16.500 dude oh man it's amazing anyway yeah so rally that's how we cross paths the rally for sure

00:02:21.800 for sure yeah um i can't play right pay to play pay to pay yeah how you gotta pay exactly how was

00:02:27.800 that car for you on the rally like was it because i thought like that's not gonna work he's got to

00:02:33.900 deal with the superchargers you got to wait like a much longer period of time to top up the battery

00:02:38.260 versus four or five minutes to fill up a gas tank how did that work out for you over that road trip

00:02:42.940 man really well i mean the car rips there's there's nothing on the rally that could beat me

00:02:46.880 in terms of obviously straightaways on corners obviously the 911s that are modified can totally

00:02:51.200 kill me or even non-modified turbos would totally beat me but the car rips man it's comfortable you

00:02:55.800 got all this stuff on you're watching youtube while you're driving it's it's pretty awesome

00:02:58.520 but i will tell you when you do have a supercharge that's far further enough you have to kind of

00:03:03.960 like figure out okay how am i going to get there and because these rallies aren't pre-scripted

00:03:07.140 we don't have the information ahead of time we're only in the information the morning of

00:03:10.360 or the night before so we're like how do we get where we have to go so it was great man i to be

00:03:14.400 honest my whole life is all about either like cutting it close to air to your plane or like

00:03:19.260 trying stuff that i've never done before or just just i mean as we get into this thing you'll see

00:03:23.420 everything i do for the most part i have my stable business i make money and i have stuff that's in

00:03:26.900 the middle that i'm trying to mix mishmash so i can make my lifestyle amazing and then i have stuff

00:03:30.860 that's totally out the left field that i'm like it's probably going to fail but it's okay i'm willing

00:03:34.720 you know i'm willing to try the failure or at least test the failure to try to make the failure less

00:03:38.620 on a business that i can you know compete or or or win at i guess that's kind of my

00:03:43.160 my whole like mindset is it's all about mindset i mean at the end of the day right it's all about

00:03:46.720 mindset and moving so but yeah my car's amazing uh obviously it's right here losing money oh right

00:03:51.500 here losing money all kinds it's like you buy if you bought the g-wagon you're making money you buy

00:03:55.480 the tesla you're losing money yeah yeah so there's the deal you know but but no my car's amazing

00:04:01.260 obviously it's like it's it's crazy fast it makes my bones chill um but speaking of that i just picked

00:04:06.320 up a bike yesterday and i'm excited about it i saw that bmws a thousand double r i'm like who's

00:04:11.460 gonna win the tesla or the bmws i'm a real uh obviously i wear adrenaline junkies i think we just

00:04:17.420 like speed we like stuff that we can we can buy and experience and all the stuff we dreamed about

00:04:22.480 growing up to buy or at least have you know i'm so blessed to have that that opportunity to do so

00:04:28.300 right so now that i have it i'm like yes i'm gonna dive in no matter you know how old i get or

00:04:32.260 or what people think about that that what i'm doing you know i just do what i want essentially

00:04:36.700 have you have you always had your motorcycle license has it been a while since you've been

00:04:40.280 on a bike yeah man i moved um i used to live in dubai so i was born i was born in belgium and i

00:04:45.220 went to dubai when i was six months old and i've been in dubai till i was 17 i moved to canada because

00:04:48.480 i wanted to drive and in dubai you couldn't drive until you're 21 and i moved to canada i mean

00:04:52.080 london ontario my mom's like you can't go somewhere with too much drugs so we can't put you in 0.98

00:04:55.200 toronto we'll put you in london so i went to like boarding house and in london and uh and the only way i could

00:05:00.720 drive from a to b was not in a car because you did graduate the licensing so it'd take about a

00:05:04.180 year to get it but you can do an m1 you can write a freaking test and then after that they're like

00:05:08.400 here you go here's your motorcycle license and you can drive you know in daylight so i'm like sweet so

00:05:12.320 i went and i bought an ex 500 a ninja and i was the only kid in high school going like dual exhaust

00:05:17.820 i'd have like three two people in the back three of us going like you know yeah like pulling this to

00:05:22.860 high school and i drove it all through winter i crashed it like seven times obviously really bad days

00:05:26.600 i took the bus but most of the times i drove it all it was crazy it's crazy but that was my

00:05:30.420 my gateway to understanding well you know you just got to try to find the loophole and everybody

00:05:33.540 driving cars and i'm there freezing but it kind of made me harder and i used to have like all these

00:05:37.560 like like you know walking these walkmans at the time with your tapes and like a disc man and all

00:05:42.480 that stuff you know i mean just trying to enjoy your life with whatever you're given i think that's

00:05:46.220 that's the deal but man that's how the car kind of thing starts a little bit like the excitement

00:05:49.620 about vehicles yeah and also in dubai my dad used to my dad's a really big desert guy we used to

00:05:54.960 just go for two days in dubai at the time the weekends were thursday friday not like it is now saturday

00:05:59.180 sunday so for me moving to canada was always like i was like what a saturday sunday don't we like go

00:06:02.900 to school but in dubai it's thursday friday so we would always go in the desert we'd have like

00:06:06.920 we'd have at the time it's called nissan patrols or mitsubishi bajeros they're just like trucks or

00:06:11.440 suvs you know they call them trucks and they call them trucks in dubai here they call them suvs but

00:06:15.380 there's so many stories because i want to like layer all these stories up because my adhd but

00:06:19.900 in dubai we just kind of go out in the desert we just go wild and go crazy and that's how i got the car

00:06:24.760 thing i started my dad taught me how to drive when i was 11 and that's kind of grew my go my

00:06:28.740 through my thing and then when i came to canada i you know i worked in this car at a performance store

00:06:32.360 and i and i realized like the power of like networking and meeting people and putting people

00:06:36.380 together and kind of sales and you know you kind of have to get those things but the base of my life

00:06:41.160 has always been cars and obviously as i've become an adult then it's become real estate and as i become

00:06:45.680 real estate it becomes like you know attention and then you get attention you're like man i can seek

00:06:49.540 these things that i want to want to find and buy but but really the core of it man is is the tesla

00:06:54.860 was awesome on the rally um cars have always been kind of a thing for me but now it's really just

00:06:58.760 like multiple streams of income making guys better and so i so i did this i wrote how many streams of

00:07:04.160 income i have kind of because i never actually done that i've never really been on a podcast so

00:07:08.580 first things first this is in my brain i'm like i gotta tell rich this thank you for having me on

00:07:12.740 i'm so late to this thank you for having me on man i saw all the guys that came before came in

00:07:17.920 your podcast before me and i'm like man this is a this is a really great honor so thank you

00:07:21.680 much appreciated yeah you've you've um you've done a lot with your life and you're well diversified and

00:07:26.780 i only knew you from your youtube channel from accelerate tv so those of you that are new here and

00:07:32.680 don't know who mike is uh he's got a nice little business with um youtube running accelerate tv does car

00:07:39.380 reviews uh that's a studio in the background where he where he does all of the uh you know walk around

00:07:44.200 and the car's got this and that um you know super interesting stuff and i noticed that a lot of the

00:07:49.260 stuff when you're outside i'm like that looks like canada like that's that guy's definitely in canada

00:07:52.360 and then i saw you on the rally i'm like okay i gotta talk to mike and see what he's all about but

00:07:56.460 this is probably like your your smallest stream of income this this seems to me like it's more of a

00:08:01.760 passion versus your roofing business and your real estate business and yeah yeah yes the stuff you do

00:08:07.260 in colombia and the stuff you do with men for sure for sure so i'll kind of explain all those

00:08:11.280 sources yeah yeah i i wrote it down so my first um my first my first thing is multiple students of

00:08:17.260 income so i started off with rentals i bought my first student rental when i was 21 um and i kept

00:08:21.720 buying student rentals and then after student rentals that kind of dropped off and i went into

00:08:24.740 like low income or medium income low to medium income housing and then i kind of got rid of most of

00:08:28.460 that and now i have apartment building so um i had 144 units i got split two years ago so now i'm down

00:08:33.420 about 91 or so which is still amazing i love my life um so i'll kind of go through it and maybe

00:08:38.500 we'll just dig into just jump around but so first one is real estate uh rentals then i do real estate

00:08:43.740 flips because in 2021 after covid happened i realized man like what's going to happen is that the markets

00:08:48.500 are going to get this huge influx because everything at home um of demand so i started just pouring all

00:08:53.240 every pretty much every all the dollars i had into flips so i did 16 flips in 2021 it was a really

00:08:58.220 great year for me financially um and then i private lend on those flips like not my own flips when people

00:09:02.980 come to me like hey so you do flips i want to get into this one sure i'll apply but private lend on

00:09:06.600 that money because i know that space um and then i have a flat roofing company so i've started like

00:09:10.460 12 years ago i started off with residential shingles and it kind of converted to flat roofing

00:09:14.580 because i was in this in the space of properties right so i realized i'll do shingles but it's so

00:09:18.920 competitive i'll do flat roofing so most of my guys are from columbia and that's why columbia has

00:09:22.860 been this like gateway for me um the next step is renovations when i'm doing like flat flat roofing for

00:09:27.580 like industrial buildings and they have like leaks and stuff like that it helps have a contact with the

00:09:30.860 owner and i'm pretty good at like you know buddying up people essentially um and then from that i build

00:09:35.540 you know like renovations so i do renos i mean i obviously i sub it all out i don't have anybody

00:09:39.740 in-house that does like that type of renos but um that's an angle and then of course youtube reviews

00:09:44.240 i used to work at audi so i was like a big proponent of believing that and i still do that you have to

00:09:48.460 have a full-time job to get the t-force because the government requires t-force to get properties for

00:09:51.860 the most part with banks so i stuck it out and i just like held my my tongue for a lot of years

00:09:57.000 um selling audi so i used to sell cars so i've sold cars i was the youngest longest serving

00:10:01.380 audi salesman in canada i worked out for almost 17 years so a really long time and i just put all

00:10:06.740 my time and effort into making this really strong contact list um relationship building and then so

00:10:11.900 it would just be like referral business so i just basically sat there and just got referral business

00:10:14.620 when i was sitting at the dealer and i worked on all these other side businesses so i was a really

00:10:17.820 like believer and it was like my comfort i felt like home um people would always say like golden

00:10:21.580 handcuffs golden handcuffs the only time i really felt that to be honest was when i had people across from

00:10:25.520 me and they were like they were always looking people always look down and call car sales people

00:10:29.040 because car sales people are like oh i'm the coolest guy in the world and on the other side you're like

00:10:32.920 i just want to buy a car from you and i know you're going to rip me off and that was never mind i mean

00:10:36.120 the car business now we have seven percent markup on audis we don't make that much money it's not

00:10:40.420 like chrysler and you know you're not trying to sell rust proofing and like you know like rate

00:10:45.040 differentiate rate differential we're not doing that stuff we're just simply educating people on a car

00:10:48.620 they buy it anyways so i had people across from me they would kind of like judge me a certain way and i would tell

00:10:53.040 them about properties and stuff like that and they would just kind of blow me off and i'd see their

00:10:55.680 eyes wander and i was like man i'm like and it's not like i'm trying to prove myself on one hand i'm

00:10:59.980 like man i'm i can blow you know i can blow doors off your off your bank account but that was never 0.83

00:11:04.160 my thing i was not like hey because money doesn't make you who you are right so it was never like the

00:11:08.260 money piece but it was more like man i'm not getting the respect by sitting here but i need to sit

00:11:12.300 here because i need to you know i need to for me it was like getting these big buildings i needed

00:11:16.300 those big buildings and even though they stand on their own two feet i never wanted to because the way

00:11:20.240 commercial lending works in canada is that the building kind of stanford center itself and

00:11:24.080 residential is like it's about me right i'm the human because i'm going to live in that house

00:11:27.200 whereas like apartment buildings are you know they stand on their own two feet the banks are going to 0.89

00:11:31.020 look the apartment building what it makes they look at me but more as an operator so for me it was like

00:11:34.360 staying consistent with what i was buying and giving them a book and saying hey this is who i am this is

00:11:38.340 where i work i got consistency i'm not self-employed i never wanted to run into those issues so i kind of

00:11:42.520 just stuck it out with audi and i loved it it was great it's like five minutes from the house it was everything

00:11:46.160 was really great for me in that way um but i'll get that a little bit later on on kind of how that

00:11:51.680 broke down the next one is called idu it's called income diversity university um and that's because

00:11:56.540 well i have a studio number one and i really wanted to use a studio number two i am getting older and i

00:12:00.180 feel like i have all this information and i that's the men's community that you set up yeah yeah exactly

00:12:04.360 yeah so i was out at that studio that you guys are looking at there a couple months ago for mike's

00:12:09.460 event and he's got a world-class uh group of men that he that he teaches you know a lot of these

00:12:14.580 principles too sorry to interrupt but carry on no no no no no absolutely so uh what i realized is

00:12:20.320 at that exact time i find when covet happened i realized like i'm stuck i'm looking around and

00:12:24.440 like what are people doing everybody's watching tv everything's frozen i had four deals in the

00:12:27.400 pipeline for real estate that weren't closing i had one buy and three of my closes they were sitting

00:12:32.220 there and nothing was happening it just like it's like the world froze for like six weeks let's call

00:12:36.500 it uh that was the first thing and then i didn't i didn't really have i had friends and

00:12:40.460 buddies and car guys and then just kind of being like who i am essentially you have friends

00:12:44.640 but those friends were not deep in understanding what are we doing what's the next move we're making

00:12:50.100 i felt like i needed people around me that was like hey this is like thinking like me or at least

00:12:54.480 giving you a different perspective and i'm like man i gotta make these dudes because they i can't find

00:12:57.940 them so i just started putting stuff out of like this is what i'm doing i'll coach 10 guys

00:13:01.960 with everything i know and if i give to these people especially younger dudes i mean there's obviously

00:13:06.460 older guys are kind of stuck in their ways they want to learn but younger dudes want to learn

00:13:10.020 they're spongy and i felt like man i feel like i can i can talk to the people that are older i can

00:13:14.780 talk to people that are younger i'm kind of at this like perfect age kind of thing and i feel like

00:13:18.500 these the information that i have um nobody can steal it from me right like i know what i know and

00:13:23.900 i make decisions of my experiences so no matter how much i share with people it it makes them

00:13:28.940 better but there's enough like there's enough food on the table for all of us to eat you know and

00:13:32.540 that's what i really feel that the more i give back and the more i share with people the more

00:13:36.240 they're like yeah man i love what you're doing and i want to be part of who you are

00:13:38.780 and of course it helps that i have the cars and i mean i have a little bit of

00:13:42.020 you know wealth because i've built it over all these years so that kind of helps and put some

00:13:45.820 credibility um and there's so much behind this thing like i used to i used to i used to pony

00:13:50.420 back on different guys doing like house tours of like taking buses loads of humans or that were

00:13:54.880 looking at real estate investments and i'd show up at my r8 and i'd be like and i'd be the guy

00:13:58.160 showing my property so i was like this guy who's like in his 20s showing off these properties

00:14:02.120 for sale um and guys were like who's this guy like where'd he come from like i never thought you

00:14:07.300 could be this young have a cool car be in real estate you know and still have a job and still

00:14:11.620 have like you know all these other like solid pieces so so yeah man so that's so i what i do

00:14:16.840 now is so income diversity university what it is right now is it's growing so it's growing and i'm

00:14:21.760 very adaptable so it starts off with me coaching 10 guys then me coaching 10 me first me coaching

00:14:27.180 10 guys for two days then me coaching 10 guys for one day uh then me coaching 50 guys but instead

00:14:31.840 of me me spilling and just me talking and talking blabbering what i do is i blabber for about

00:14:35.960 half a day on what i'm doing where i'm at so i can have some sort of checkpoints onto the next time

00:14:40.320 we meet and also i have a big circle of 50 guys that we put in a circle and we talk about everything

00:14:44.680 we talk about relationships how to be better our failures you know where we're winning but i don't

00:14:48.520 really want to talk about winning and i definitely don't want to talk about how great i am that i've

00:14:51.400 brought you here and i put this thing on i don't want to talk about me it's about you and i want to

00:14:54.600 get low into what you know people's struggles like whether it be new immigrants coming to canada

00:14:58.200 and just having a tough time on how to make canada work and this dream they've been sold that's not real

00:15:02.300 or canadians that have been here for a long time and maybe don't understand the the immigrant side

00:15:06.340 of things or canadians that have been here a long time and see things changing and then you know

00:15:09.520 they're really what's going on with my world what's on my country well maybe you need to kind of set

00:15:12.300 up at the box step out of the box sometimes look back and say you know what my real estate's gone

00:15:16.380 up you know my my my quality of food has changed because man i have more options so it's just

00:15:21.200 kind of looking at the world like a bit more positively um but at the same time like trying to figure

00:15:26.600 out ways that i can improve so one of the things i've really kind of tried to work on is like my

00:15:31.400 my food how much food i put in this body because as entrepreneurs we don't think about our bodies

00:15:36.480 man and for the most part we're just like we'll go go go go how much money can we make how we put

00:15:40.300 ourselves out there how we make ourselves bigger and better but not in our body so i've been working

00:15:44.480 on trying to figure out you know portion control for my body what i'm putting in my body how much

00:15:48.300 sleep i get all those type of things that are obviously like important for guys that you know

00:15:52.200 eventually we'll kind of have to be all rounded or more rounded so that's kind of idu and there's a

00:15:57.540 little branch off to idu and i felt like when i was doing these 50 guys i feel like i needed some

00:16:01.760 guys to actually make a big change and not just come here for all night we started eight in the

00:16:05.860 morning and and the last one we ended up i got home at 4 a.m so we started in the morning and four

00:16:10.880 in the morning man it's like it's like these guys do not want to leave they just have this love and

00:16:14.240 they're like where's like well i've been looking for we went for hours when we were talking with those

00:16:18.960 guys they were dude they were plugged in man like they were they were ready like they were hungry for

00:16:23.860 that information hungry it was a really good time it was a really good time yes and and that's what

00:16:28.980 gives me passion and gives me like energy and and that's what i want man i want i want dudes to just

00:16:33.800 get better i just don't want them to just suffer internally you know so anyways it's about putting

00:16:38.100 it out there so but what i've realized is that the people that the people that come here and want

00:16:43.040 to make the change just don't have enough time so then i'm like okay so when covid happened

00:16:47.320 simultaneously with idu is i was like okay canada's not just doing this for me everything's stuck here

00:16:52.660 i'm gonna get on a plane uh at the time with my ex-wife and my kid and i'm gonna travel through

00:16:57.140 whatever let me in so we went through mexico we did the whole tulum thing i looked at property there

00:17:01.520 uh then from tulum then we went to costa rica i did the whole like samara nasara i did the whole

00:17:06.720 manuel antonio i did the whole side that all the canadians they want to get the job they went over

00:17:09.800 there um and and you know to get water permits and i was building it was very expensive at the time

00:17:14.800 like it had blown up like most canadians will always go to costa rica a few times in their life i mean

00:17:18.220 so i've been to costa rica a few times before that and i realized that costa rica was just going through

00:17:21.340 this huge like blow up and i was like rica's okay like i'm not a big fan of costa rica it's it's

00:17:26.720 it's got like the black sand beaches the dark water yes yes surfing things cool um you know it's very

00:17:33.100 like almost bohemian um yeah some big ass bugs down there man i've seen centipedes like on the wall like 0.94

00:17:38.600 fucking this they look like snakes dude yeah they fly in and you're like yeah yeah it's you know it's 0.97

00:17:45.060 like a lot of rainforest i mean if you like that stuff then that's cool but yeah yeah yeah no i i think 0.98

00:17:50.180 man i think that you have to like it's like i'm jumping around over here it's like thinking about

00:17:54.560 augering toilets i realized that for me if i need to not spend the 300 on my heart life was hard

00:17:59.520 i would auger that toilet myself i would get you know when you can you like open up like mandarins 0.96

00:18:04.540 and oranges you get all that stuff in your nails you get shit in your nails and then you'd go home 0.91

00:18:08.160 at night and you'd scrub these nails and they wouldn't come off and that's just like a reminder

00:18:11.720 for me of like what you know what you kind of have to break through to get past it so like bugs for

00:18:16.700 example i was never i hated bugs and it was like itchy i saw cockroach i had run like 500 feet away

00:18:20.640 you know i didn't like that stuff but now man i don't care i'm like good with it if a roach comes

00:18:24.700 up there's no roaches here but if there were i would i'd be okay with it because i realized man

00:18:29.220 you have to kind of like just put up with it put up with it deal with it mentally like you know

00:18:33.780 conquer whatever's in your mind and and whatever that happens to be you know obviously it would be

00:18:37.580 for me it was roaches i was like oh my god i see roaches and i'm like gone you know anyways um

00:18:42.620 so costa rica was kind of like a thing i went to costa rica and then i just felt like costa rica

00:18:46.160 wasn't something i placed my money it just didn't feel right i feel like there's not enough upside i

00:18:50.100 feel like i was gonna take the wave and when does that wave come down i just wasn't ready for that

00:18:53.020 uh from there i went to panama and panama and at the time my ex went back i was me and my kid

00:18:57.960 and then we went to panama uh and panama was completely locked down like it was really locked

00:19:02.300 down i'm saying locked down it was locked down to death man yeah worse than canada like yes dude

00:19:08.820 like like that if we had like rcmp on the roads and and opp you know coming and there's no comparison

00:19:14.560 man there's no comparison okay and it's and i think it's because the u.s wanted to make wanted

00:19:19.180 them to be the staple of like hey this is what they're doing this is what everybody's got to follow

00:19:23.220 and because obviously all the goods flow through we control them in a certain way yeah so but then

00:19:28.140 i was like okay this is cool if everything's locked down then obviously people are kind of scared

00:19:30.920 worried and you know like you have to make moves when people are scared and that's exactly what i did

00:19:34.140 so i went there and i found i went i went shopping and i found this small cute two-bedroom

00:19:38.520 condo just on the outskirts of this like unesco heritage area it's actually on the inside but

00:19:42.800 it's on the outskirts of where they're trying to develop so it's kind of it is gentrifying and it

00:19:46.460 is getting better for sure um but they are but they are offering one big thing and that made me

00:19:51.560 made me make the move and that is they were offering 30 years no taxes so i heard 30 years no taxes

00:19:58.100 and you can get three percent under the interest the average interest rate which was six at the time so

00:20:02.720 it was three it was like 3.2 percent and you can mortgage over 20 years fixed and i'm like this is a great

00:20:07.480 deal and i paid 120k us for it brand new apartment turkey no one's lived in it i like this is a good

00:20:12.640 place um so all this kind of stems from at that time realizing i can't have all my money in canada

00:20:18.080 i just can't and i don't think i'm a tax resident of panama too um so i'm i'm work i'm working into

00:20:23.880 that space right now but i think that i think panama is a tough place because i think you totally

00:20:27.600 get flagged from panama i think i mean it's kind of hard though because if you're canadian you

00:20:31.420 you have to abandon your like almost your residency here exactly exactly and not really

00:20:36.820 own anything to pass the test with cra right and the thing is man no i'm fine with that i'm i mean

00:20:43.940 what people don't realize as well is that part of what i coach or talk about really is like i don't

00:20:48.760 really coach but part of what i talk about is having different styles of different companies so

00:20:51.760 i have seven different companies and each company they all make money you can't just open a company and

00:20:55.520 lose money but they all have to make income and out of that income i have stuff that i can write

00:20:59.100 off so if i'm traveling somewhere that's has a that's a purpose so now i'm building airbnbs in

00:21:02.660 colombia when i fly from toronto to colombia for to manage the airbnbs that's a business write-off

00:21:07.640 there's one if i go if i go to a restaurant and i want to eat and i'm having a meeting with a

00:21:11.960 roofing guy well i get exactly man so there's so many silos you can write stuff off so what people

00:21:16.820 don't realize in canada unless it's passive so obviously like some of the buildings i have are in

00:21:20.700 a corporation those corps are going to pay passive so mac you know marginal tax rates you're going to pay

00:21:24.900 as high as 50 for some of that stuff so i get it you just try to you know you need to know

00:21:28.880 you need to use your brain on where you feel like you want to make money and pay the 12 you know

00:21:32.200 tax base or whatever but right but to panama in terms of having or understanding that that is a

00:21:37.480 great place to put your money because it's u.s dollars and that seems to be fine for now um put

00:21:42.560 your money in u.s dollars and it was it was some money going somewhere other than canada i had this

00:21:46.300 cash and i'm like look i'm gonna spend you know let's call it 20 of my money and i'm gonna take 20

00:21:50.820 money and i'm gonna take it out of canada just to get diversified in my funds i don't want to i don't

00:21:54.580 want to put money into the stock market because i feel like i can't control it i like to

00:21:58.260 play around i like to experiment i like to toy around with where my money goes and i feel like

00:22:01.960 man i have the energy i have the brain power and i do like the stories behind it because there is a

00:22:06.560 story element to all of this right at the end of the day we are i would say entertainers but we are

00:22:10.720 like going through our lives saying hey like this is what i'm doing maybe you can get better or learn

00:22:14.380 from this and that and the only way that people can learn from me is if i go out and i experiment and

00:22:18.160 try different things so so panama was that and the other like benefit that i learned about panama is is

00:22:23.900 flight if you want to fly from toronto to panama city or you find toronto to bogota as an example

00:22:30.080 it's way cheaper to go from toronto panama city panama city bogota it's just way cheaper because

00:22:33.860 using that as a hub it just drops where your flight uh i wouldn't say continents because

00:22:39.740 panama is the last one in central america before you hit south america which is columbia

00:22:43.800 but you fly from toronto north america into panama and it's still like the same cost it doesn't

00:22:48.240 have a different carrier you know base adjusted higher or whatever so that's that's that's the really

00:22:52.980 great thing i learned about panama also panama has a great waterfront so i just i arrived there

00:22:57.100 it takes five and a half hours to get there or five hours in 20 minutes whatever i fly there i'm in my

00:23:01.320 apartment in 20 minutes i throw in my gym stuff i go for a run a four and a half k this way four and

00:23:05.080 a half k that way it's a beautiful waterfront everybody's like lively um it's a very it's a

00:23:09.720 smaller country there's about four million people or so so it's not a big country and panama city has

00:23:13.720 about one and a half two million people so it's kind of a small the right size there's tons of

00:23:17.960 towers because the tons of money they have great restaurants um it's higher end it's it's it doesn't have

00:23:22.440 maybe a wide spectrum of of culinary you know food and stuff like that but it's it's more it's

00:23:27.360 smaller it's more conservative it's it's just a different space right so it's great for retirees 0.53

00:23:30.960 and then where i'm at is it's in a unesco site so it's it's like an old area so that all this old area

00:23:36.140 is is really good for like tourists so it's very big on tourists you have the ships that come in so

00:23:40.660 i'm like oh there's you know i i feel like putting my money there is safe and it's great for what i do

00:23:45.260 in my lifestyle right now um so that that's that's the first part of where i take people but it's also

00:23:49.940 the first part of where i put my money then the next part is colombia because most of my guys are

00:23:53.980 from colombia that work for me here and that we you know we work together on the roofing stuff

00:23:57.120 so those guys were like man you have to go to colombia you have to go to colombia and one guy

00:24:01.380 in specific he's like man you have to go to colombia and i'm like okay i'm gonna go so i went to i went

00:24:05.360 to cartina years and years ago but it was too hot anything along the coast on the pacific side there

00:24:09.000 is just boiling hot like panama's boiling hot and i'm like man i don't want to do any boiling hot i'll go to

00:24:14.100 the center of the city which is medellin let me call it medellin medellin so um this is the funny

00:24:20.340 part two l's in spanish is pronounced gene like jano grande not lano grande that's why it's called

00:24:27.660 medellin in my opinion not medellin but we can find the comments guys fight in the comments about this

00:24:31.980 you know how it goes on youtube oh i can't wait till they fight they're like this guy is skinny this

00:24:37.920 guy doesn't talk about this guy just it's amazing i love it um so then the next one was we'll talk

00:24:44.200 about funny youtube comments in a bit but yeah um but so the next one was colombia went to medellin

00:24:49.560 beautiful city world class um and i was like this is the place i gotta put my money here i'm putting

00:24:55.040 my money here no matter what um but the problem is is like trying to buy a place in downtown toronto or

00:25:00.720 new york you have to pick up an area and be like that's my area and then you'll go to another area

00:25:06.100 and you're like oh i like this area too i like this area that's from cosmopolitan city you don't

00:25:09.860 know exactly where to pick especially when you when when it's like a maybe a transient place or

00:25:13.980 one that you're not putting all your all your eggs in at the moment so i'm like okay let me go check

00:25:18.120 it out so i went on youtube and i started watching a whole bunch of stuff and um on medellin and it's

00:25:22.140 like it's like the top five things you have to do in medellin are boom boom boom boom boom um and the

00:25:27.480 top two are always this place called guatapay and so guatapay is like oh what is this so we took an hour

00:25:32.740 we took an hour drive to this place and it's basically like it's their first lake town

00:25:36.000 so they have this huge giant massive rock on this place and you can take helicopter rides from

00:25:39.380 the city from medellin into the rock and then back or you can take one there around the rock

00:25:43.260 but it's this touristic spot spot and it's still pretty underdeveloped um now you have to remember

00:25:48.040 that colombia or medellin specific or colombia in general first of all has a bad rap of being

00:25:52.300 dangerous and all that fun stuff but what's what's also what's more important

00:25:54.840 i'll get pretty deep into that stuff but okay the key here man is that pablo escobar is has been

00:26:04.240 gone for 30 years we have we have people for 30 years that are like we have a beautiful country

00:26:09.460 and i don't know if you know colombians they're very patriotic they love their country and rightfully

00:26:14.740 so it's been totally barraged in the last five years on like what it's about and how dangerous

00:26:20.700 it is because people are spotlighting it right is it dangerous dude i'm in london ontario it's

00:26:26.840 dangerous now there's b&es there's car thefts they're shootings toronto they're shootings every

00:26:32.080 day for god's sakes people are breaking the cars they're scams the whole world is dangerous man

00:26:36.840 is it dangerous when you just walk in the street somebody hits you in the back of the head takes

00:26:39.560 your money no of course if you're in certain spots but man if you're looking for trouble it will find

00:26:44.320 it there's enough tourists foreigners people that make enough banks enough of a community enough it 1.00

00:26:50.840 there's i just it's like i'm people think i'm colombian i'm not colombian my mom's from india

00:26:57.460 and my dad's from belgium and i grew up in dubai my life was very far from colombia but it's the same

00:27:03.560 time zone you have people that are very patriotic you have a beautiful country that is forget the

00:27:09.320 cheap because colombia is not certain parts of colombia are cheap but the good spots are not cheap

00:27:13.480 location people know man and they will stay with they will know those their value of their their spots it

00:27:18.240 doesn't fluctuate like other cities that have no no desire or or used up cities or like bastardized

00:27:24.840 cities this is an up-and-coming space some of the comparisons that i've seen you uh post on instagram

00:27:30.480 and i can't get it working on my desktop you know i wanted to share it with people but you can go to

00:27:35.560 mike van hoot i'm probably pronouncing your last name wrong right mike van hoot close it's all good

00:27:39.760 but if you go to his instagram you'll see a lot of the comparisons and he'll do these walkthroughs

00:27:46.280 in these gorgeous colombian uh properties and it's like you know in toronto for 800 000 you get

00:27:52.320 this glass box in the sky with two bedrooms and a fucking shoe box for you know like a kitchen and 0.93

00:27:58.040 then he walks you through this absolutely gorgeous house on like a mountain with mountain views and 0.97

00:28:02.540 lake views for like the same amount of money often less and i can see why uh you know you promote it

00:28:08.640 you like it so much right yes um i mean the people listen man the people are a big one for sure

00:28:13.580 people always say like latino women are beautiful colombian women are super beautiful like they're 1.00

00:28:18.340 like people are like oh my god colombian women they're like oh my god the prettiest thing ever 0.99

00:28:21.820 yeah if you spin a globe though if you spin a globe and you close your eyes and you close your eyes and

00:28:25.820 you just put your finger there no matter where you land there are beautiful women so i think it's 1.00

00:28:30.240 i think that that from that perspective it's like oh the women are beautiful 1.00

00:28:33.840 but dude man if you built yourself you will find beautiful women anywhere in the world and they will 1.00

00:28:38.300 be attracted to you no matter where you go obviously you're not going to get every single girl on the

00:28:41.900 planet but there will be enough dimes that want you when you build yourself up and you you spend your

00:28:46.260 time and and you know in confidence all that stuff but colombia man it's same well it's one hour before

00:28:52.000 so that's one big thing the weather is absolutely perfect so if we look if as canadians we're looking

00:28:57.000 for stuff to go somewhere to go in the winter everybody's like florida i'm like dude florida is exactly like

00:29:01.780 it is here just warmer like it's the same thing you don't break out of the same habits there's no

00:29:06.140 growth there's nothing that's the problem with what i feel with with florida um if you go to i

00:29:10.860 don't really like florida i'm not a big fan ah florida i mean it's great for like the first week yeah

00:29:15.800 boring and then you're doing the same thing it's having barbecues going out with people what you do

00:29:19.460 everywhere in the world for sure but when you have a different perspective and people care about what

00:29:23.460 they dress like people care about how they look like people focus on like walking like if i show you my

00:29:29.320 health on my phone or how many steps i did when i was in colombia it's just there's no comparison

00:29:33.160 to what i do when i'm here i mean that's obviously a personal thing it's not going out there and

00:29:36.740 saying everybody does this because obviously in alberta and canmore or you know whistler you're

00:29:40.400 obviously how does how does tulum compare to colombia because i'm because i'm very familiar with

00:29:44.940 tulum i've seen it rise up i have a friend down there that that has some great real estate um you

00:29:51.260 know he's got some good property investments i stayed in one of his airbnbs earlier this year

00:29:55.500 and i like it but it's becoming too commercialized too americanized almost to some degree how does

00:30:01.180 colombia compare to that just so i have some contrast and understanding um so different

00:30:05.360 yeah so different temperatures so basically colombia has the pacific side not the atlantic it has the

00:30:11.020 atlantic side but or it has the north the northern side essentially which is a cartagena um it's it's

00:30:17.640 a tough one because tulum is a beach town right tulum is not an interior mountainous terrain it's not a

00:30:23.740 nice beach town anymore though because i've got that on the beach all the time now right and all

00:30:28.920 clubs that's always been there i know and all clubs that charge like 12 for a bottle of water i mean

00:30:33.060 i don't want to go somewhere you like listen man at the end of the day for me it's about keeping my

00:30:36.040 lifestyle i don't have life on inflation although i have fancy cars all the time around me they have

00:30:39.320 some value to them it's not like you buy a car and it loses value but i like to i like to be in

00:30:43.920 places that are fair for pricing i get it everybody's got to make money but i don't want to go

00:30:47.240 somewhere and get ripped off everywhere i go and that's what i feel like or felt like in tulum

00:30:50.500 also i feel like i'm i'm i'm being somebody i'm not when i go to tulum it's like hey i have to be

00:30:55.200 part of this like click this group this crew and then you lose that individuality you know whereas

00:30:59.200 if you go to colombia everybody's everything whether you have you have people with no money

00:31:03.520 and they work hard they whether they're not panhandling on the street whether they're

00:31:06.620 entertaining on the street to make money whether they're trying to just sell everybody's trying

00:31:09.800 to sell there's a small in in the city in medellin there's a small it used to be it's built by

00:31:14.080 this belgian architect and there's like 400 stores and they're all selling the same fake 0.87

00:31:18.060 chinese shoes they're all of them it's like how do they make money but it doesn't matter at least

00:31:22.040 they're doing some of their life they're not they're not sitting around waiting for the government

00:31:25.020 to give their money and i feel like we all get put in these little boxes when you go to tulum you're

00:31:30.080 going okay well i want to go see this dj this time it's great for like it's like it's like a buddy i

00:31:34.320 have that i call my medicine friend i can take small doses of him but i can't take him forever and

00:31:38.960 that's how i feel like tulum is you can't live there and be like i'm gonna raise my kids here i'm

00:31:42.260 gonna move here forever unless you have real businesses you can't do that man you know

00:31:46.040 in costa rica you can do that more for sure but at the end of the day for me the only way i grow is

00:31:51.800 by being around people that are different that make my brain think differently and i can use some

00:31:56.860 of the advantages that i have that i've learned in north america and i can take them there

00:32:00.180 but on that topic i though i want to say that it's very important that you have a base in north

00:32:05.040 america you can't just be like i'm gonna move to wherever and i'm gonna stay here i'm gonna build my

00:32:08.540 life you still need a base man and for me it's like i have this base here where i where i live

00:32:13.840 and i go back and forth to colombia i'm in colombia every six weeks for about a week and a

00:32:17.280 half and then i come back or two weeks or so and i come back and i go back and forth as i shoot film

00:32:20.700 um but medellin is is kind of going back to that like question of of how is it like is it dangerous

00:32:27.100 the dangerous against you can find it you can find danger if you look for it but the growth that you

00:32:31.920 can get there is huge especially in the last 10 years and the americans are there they're not saying

00:32:37.620 oh my god we're scared of this thing the europeans go travel there to be honest i'm really

00:32:41.720 actually at this point i'm really happy that not that people think it's dangerous because honestly

00:32:46.940 keeps some people away i feel like the only the ones that want to take you know what's dangerous

00:32:51.460 people tell me that's dangerous where i have my condo in panama you know people tell me it's

00:32:55.400 dangerous don't go to venezuela don't go to caracas it's too dangerous i want to go to caracas i want

00:32:59.960 to see how it's like i mean obviously have any cool i won't have any nice gear on i'll just have my

00:33:03.780 you know bummy clothes and walk around if i have to because that's what i do everywhere i go for the most part

00:33:07.080 yeah yeah you blend in right so i mean like what is danger man what what even is danger i don't even

00:33:12.560 know like what do people classify danger if i'm taking my newborn kid and i'm walking across the

00:33:17.760 street you think someone's going to come steal my kid and fly away no you hear a lot of these

00:33:21.660 narratives about places like dubai for example where it's so safe that you can walk around it's uh

00:33:26.820 you know three o'clock in the morning you can take your rolex off that's half a million dollars

00:33:31.580 leave it on the table walk away and somebody will pick it up and bring it over to you and say here sir

00:33:35.300 you left this sorry yes yes okay so i can explain why okay i can explain so growing up in dubai i can

00:33:40.940 tell you that all the big skyscrapers and stuff there's no union there's no normal human labor

00:33:46.040 that actually builds these things and get paid fairly no they pluck poor people from garage from 0.99

00:33:50.740 from small villages in india bangladesh and pakistan and they'll put these people to build houses and

00:33:55.460 they'll say you know there's one guy like sales guy like looks like me they'll be like you know what

00:33:58.500 if you come work in dubai we'll pay your family you know 10 times your wage you're making here you save 0.99

00:34:02.680 it for the next three years your family be set for the rest of their life but it's all bullshit 0.96

00:34:05.500 because what they'll do is they'll on the back end they'll say you owe me this you owe me for food 0.55

00:34:08.800 you owe me this you only passport back you want all these things so they hold all the deductions

00:34:12.500 yes and they hold your dude the labor market in dubai they hold that labor's passport that person's

00:34:18.900 not going anywhere so you think that person's going to come steal a ferrari where the hell is he

00:34:21.800 going to sell it where's going to move the money how can you do it that's the problem it is in a vacuum

00:34:26.420 so of course it's safe it's in a vacuum and also the upper tier part upper tier part of people like

00:34:31.760 when i was when i was in when i was in elementary school oh great i don't know what you call it

00:34:36.040 but grade seven essentially um we had a friend i had people that would live in my building at the

00:34:40.340 time and this guy and girl and we went out to the desert desert it's weird saying desert it's like

00:34:45.360 going to the going to like the lake let's say here right because that's what the desert was there

00:34:48.860 it was like a thing that we do there's sand you make set castles and you can run the sand you can

00:34:52.120 play you could whatever have a good time up and on the little hills um and then there's these

00:34:55.800 group of locals that came in there like little like nissan little nissan this convertible or jeep

00:35:01.300 they were coming with their guns and their pigeons and their falcons and they were kind of

00:35:04.680 like these cool kids that had lots of money they came and they basically basically we were running

00:35:08.600 because we were like we kind of knew that these kids were up for like these like 14 to 16 year old 0.99

00:35:11.960 kids were no good and basically what they did was this is like this this shit will haunt me forever 0.99

00:35:17.580 is they took this girl the one because it was me my buddy and his sister and they took this girl 0.99

00:35:23.140 and they were trying to rape her bro you know and guess what happened we we i mean i just screamed

00:35:28.480 pushed ran we ran ran ran we yelled for the mother we all came the jeep left and then we

00:35:33.420 ended up fighting we ended up telling the police whatever they found apparently they found this 0.98

00:35:36.580 these kids and guess what happens nothing happens to these kids nothing zero nada so that's bullshit 0.93

00:35:43.220 in my opinion you know there's there's rules that are made for some people and rules that are not made 0.95

00:35:47.500 for others and and that's not fair man that's not fair and that's what dubai has so you have all

00:35:51.620 these glitz and glamour but it's not this utopian paradise that you hear a lot of people patient 0.52

00:35:56.040 they're trying to promote it right bullshit but but at the same time but at the same time it's it's 0.76

00:36:00.320 an ingredient in the food that we're eating like there's a reason why there's a g-wagon behind me 1.00

00:36:04.640 and there's a reason why there's a tesla behind me because viewers want to see that shit that's why 0.85

00:36:08.740 dubai is so popular because obviously like it's this glorious space now again listen i left in 1999 0.68

00:36:14.440 i went back once so far and i will plan to go again because i have lots of friends that are like come

00:36:18.940 come come come come and i will go dubai is a great place has great people you have all the

00:36:22.960 infrastructure you can do whatever you want the world is your oyster for sure to make money

00:36:26.120 here's the thing i told this girl the other day so she's she's in she's in winnipeg and she's she's

00:36:31.920 she went she's trying to travel trying to figure out a life whatever then she went to dubai and she's

00:36:35.560 like i love it here and she's like what do you think and i'm like well dubai will keep you broke

00:36:38.880 just like manhattan will but now for the first time ever canada will keep you broke and that is

00:36:46.320 something to think about because think about this now now you don't have to suffer in winnipeg

00:36:50.820 anymore you can suffer in dubai you can suffer in manhattan you can suffer in miami you can suffer

00:36:55.880 in la you can suffer wherever you want because guess what when you come back to canada you're

00:37:01.660 suffering and that is the problem with with with the newness and the people that were that are coming 1.00

00:37:06.820 into our country now and that is why like idu is super important and part of these things that i lose

00:37:12.620 so man in the last six weeks i've had deals so i put second mortgages on a couple because i felt like

00:37:17.680 i'll take the chance of it when covid was at kind of at a peak i had lots of different risks and my

00:37:22.100 risk goes high low um so i put out a second mortgage on a property i own so the first came in put up

00:37:28.040 600 i sold the place for 720 i put up a second mortgage that's 120 grand and sorry it was 100 i

00:37:33.860 sold she put a 580 it was 160 that i was letting out and what obviously she paid me interest for the

00:37:39.020 interest only so she paid me for the first four months she stopped paying me 0.90

00:37:42.520 now that mark now that house has gone down to 600 and now she owes me 160 of what i've sold of what

00:37:48.400 i owe on the first mortgage well she can't pay me she can't pay me anything because the house is

00:37:52.740 worth this much money so now it's being sold it's being gone so you have people like that that are

00:37:56.780 caught in this little loop but at the same time me as a as an investor i'm putting money and i've

00:38:01.040 taken losses now i'm gonna lose 100 grand on this deal i've lost so i'll tell you straight up i've lost

00:38:05.520 in the last four months i've lost 100 grand on one deal which i should if she pays me to 60 i'll lose

00:38:09.980 100 if she doesn't pay the 660 i'm lost 160 so 160 uh i lost 40 on i lost sorry i lost 60 on a deal

00:38:15.980 on this property on gray street um i'm about to lose 40 potentially in alberta um and i have two 0.71

00:38:21.640 about 100k in this restaurant that i'm probably going to lose so i which people say you're crazy

00:38:25.500 there's so much money you lost one yes i lost money but man it's the experience number one i can

00:38:29.340 talk about it and i know how the cycles work and i have to lose like for me it's like about losing

00:38:34.960 you can make money back you can never make time back that's that's what people don't understand so

00:38:39.960 if you lose 50 grand 100 grand on a private mortgage deal consider that a 50 000 education

00:38:46.180 to learn that lesson i've done a lot of private lending like i started doing this uh i don't know

00:38:50.540 like eight ten years ago i've done dozens and dozens of deals i've lost money on two deals it's not as

00:38:56.280 it's not the great greatest thing in the world but it's great when it works you know when the market

00:39:00.160 conditions are right very safe it's great when it works but when the market conditions change

00:39:04.200 that's when you're like oh it's cost me 57 000 i know i saw i saw this i saw a couple good i

00:39:10.220 still have some really good stuff but i i do think private lending is like it's like the gateway so

00:39:15.000 think about a gateway the gateway for me to bring people from north america to colombia is a very

00:39:20.580 hard sell the first thing i think it's dangerous it's too far it's potentially two flights because

00:39:24.740 obviously toronto has one our jet goes from toronto to medellin now but it's really it's toronto miami

00:39:29.780 you know toronto miami medellin or toronto panama medellin or toronto houston whatever you're basically

00:39:33.820 not taking one flight so torontonians or ontarians are not going to be like hey i'm going to jump on

00:39:38.340 a plane and go to colombia they're going to i'm going to go to panama i'm going to go to mexico i'm

00:39:41.620 going to kind of do these things so for me to sell colombia i need a stop a stop and then colombia so

00:39:47.000 it's a very hard sell which is why i like it because it's the same similar time zone you have you have

00:39:52.740 great people you learn great weather man like it's called the city of eternal spring for a reason

00:39:57.100 it has beautiful buildings great views great food i mean i can i eat i eat chicken avocado a little

00:40:03.900 bit of beans a little bit of rice and a small plant that's kind of what i eat when i'm there i'm eating

00:40:08.460 fresh juices so all the good stuff that we love about when we go to mexico except it's all it's

00:40:12.300 all just temporary this is full time and it's affordable like where's our currency going in

00:40:16.800 canada where is our money worth it's not worth that much money here anymore but it still has some

00:40:21.200 worth in colombia some worth that will change over time because the peso has like there's another thing

00:40:26.400 people throw people are like hey i want to invest you i want to put 50k with you and then i'm like

00:40:29.980 okay what's 50k gonna do it's gonna give me a boss and you're giving my boss because you're gonna say

00:40:33.520 i give you 50k what's gonna what's my money what's doing with my money what are you doing with my

00:40:36.640 money and for me i'm like dude if you have 50k put it in a put it in a bank account i will set you

00:40:40.360 up with the right people to put in a bank account because in the last eight months the forget how the

00:40:44.640 peso is doing it's i mean from what i have started where i am now i'm up like 17 just on the

00:40:49.260 peso exchange rate or the currency exchange but putting my money into a bank into a bank there

00:40:53.860 has gained me in the last nine months almost like 18 percent returns it's as high as 24 and as low as

00:41:01.240 13 and on top of that is that the is that the rate of return in interest in interest man yes now you

00:41:08.540 there's a few capitalists number number one you have to how does the peso do versus the u.s dollar

00:41:12.800 though like is it worth less over time or more like okay so over the over the last long period of

00:41:18.620 time the peso has been declining at about eight percent eight seven to twelve percent a year that's why

00:41:23.380 real estate's gone up by 10 to 12 percent but because the world is changing and now this we've

00:41:28.280 kind of led in nomads we've led they've led in you know all types of people to come in to sort of boost

00:41:33.000 the economy because they want people to come there work spend the money and so because they're putting

00:41:36.980 the right people to come into the country it's boosting up their obviously their their their peso 0.51

00:41:42.800 the peso when i i'll give an example i'm just talking about the canadian dollar not the u.s dollar

00:41:47.240 the highs of the canadian dollar were almost 4 000 pesos for one canadian dollar i changed it at

00:41:52.800 3600 now it's 3000 so i've made 20 on just the currency exchange rate and i could have made 35

00:42:00.800 of the exchange rate and this has only happened over the last like basically a year and a half

00:42:05.600 so i bought 36 it went up to four i'm like oh my god is the car is what's going on here and then it

00:42:10.640 kind of came back down and now it's at 3000 and that's kind of where it levels off the three thousand

00:42:14.160 dollar mark and the americans it's about four thousand and it went to almost as high as five thousand so

00:42:18.400 um so you have some value so you can you can just wait for the currency to change but the quality of

00:42:23.280 real estate there man i took guys there so i take 10 guys every quarter from toronto from they come

00:42:28.640 from all over i've had saskatchewan i've had um saint john's uh i've had um uh obviously vancouver

00:42:35.040 pretty straightforward stuff um i had there's one place in canada i have to tell you but anyways um we

00:42:40.720 fly they come to toronto we're in toronto then we go to panama first for a day and then we do

00:42:43.760 colombia for seven days uh two of the days i talk about my project in guatape we live we stay in

00:42:48.240 guatape i show them the land i get their people's opinions and visions because i'm a really big

00:42:52.240 believer of listening to other people right two ears one mouth so it's about kind of understanding

00:42:56.720 that and i show these guys i'm like this is my bank this is how i moved money and this is how i

00:43:00.240 convert you know it went from toronto to citibank citibank converts it to pesos sorry it keeps the us

00:43:05.120 dollars and then what happens is that the bank account here will go there the bank the bank

00:43:09.600 institution but we'll go from colombia we'll take this us dollars convert it to

00:43:12.640 pesos and now your money's sitting in a mine's in a very very low risk account and i have to put it

00:43:18.640 in the markets they will not let me just put it in cash and let's sit in cash they want it in the

00:43:22.240 markets that's that's what they're you know things to do but um but it's important sorry it was adhd

00:43:28.800 jumping around like crazy but it's a it's important to note man that when you take when i take these

00:43:34.160 10 guys the changes that happen with them through my little system here and showing them colombia and

00:43:39.360 showing what i do is is amazing there's some changes there's a there's there's guys there's

00:43:45.120 one specific guy that tattooed idu on his elbow just in his commitment to what i'm preaching and

00:43:51.200 talking about and to me i'm like man i i've made this guy's this guy and many others lives i won't

00:43:57.360 say change because i'm not some you know i'm not i'm just a guy basically showing my experiences and

00:44:01.200 say if i can do this you can do this i'm a normal dude man i wasn't born with like unbelievable

00:44:05.520 looks and it took me somewhere really far i wasn't born with rich parents that that guided me or so

00:44:10.000 we're like here they guided me but they didn't they weren't like pedestal up pedestal you up which i

00:44:14.160 saw and i see in dubai all the time and it makes me sick i'm like dude i have values i have depth

00:44:18.880 in my soul half these kids don't have depth in their soul they just don't so part of the system

00:44:24.160 of taking guys there and watching them change for sure you know we i do different fun stuff like

00:44:28.640 obviously obviously guys are always kind of tied to girls in some way so i take guys and i'm like

00:44:32.320 listen guys you know we're going to write our names on a napkin we're going to put our phone

00:44:35.200 number if you can hand this to a girl you get a point if you can hands the girl and she calls you

00:44:39.280 you get two points if you hands to a girl she calls you and you meet her you get three points

00:44:42.400 you know so i'm we try to build a little competition between us to be like okay we can do this then we

00:44:46.960 have really deep thoughts about look man like i'm depressed this is what's happening to me it's not

00:44:50.640 working for me i've tried everything like i feel like i'm stuck in this rat this this little race

00:44:55.200 when i come back home and how do we change that how we change the mind and and when you can do that

00:45:00.320 man it's just so goddamn liberating there's nothing like it for sure when we get into relation with a

00:45:06.720 woman they can make us feel like that they give us that dopamine that hit we can you know we can get 1.00

00:45:10.000 that uplift we can build a great life with them they can help us get to where we want to be we can help

00:45:13.840 them get to where we want to be this great uniform unicity peace totally but when you're a single guy

00:45:21.280 and you realize that you go on your phone and all you're looking at is you're competing with like

00:45:24.160 guys that are like photoshopped half their photos and going these dates and they're getting coaching on how

00:45:28.240 to like pick up girls and you're this guy that that doesn't really know any of that stuff you just

00:45:31.760 want a brotherhood of dudes that are like man like i just want to be better yeah i want to improve i

00:45:35.520 want to take care of my body i want where do i go that's the problem there are groups like that

00:45:39.840 but there's not very many groups that will put you up in a studio like this we can have 50 guys go in

00:45:45.040 a circle we have a setup where you have an opportunity to come and just you know dig you know dive deep

00:45:50.960 for nine days where it's just us talking about everything i haven't tailored it yet to say okay this is

00:45:56.720 just about real estate investors i haven't done that yet so that's kind of what i'm kind of working

00:46:00.880 on um so yeah that's but dude and now you're telling you're saying about the videos of the house tours

00:46:07.360 oh my god oh my god it has blown up it is blowing up so on accelerate on accelerate we get so it

00:46:16.080 accelerates me and a partner and ian's my partner great guy he makes me look so good this is the youtube

00:46:20.880 channel with the car yeah with the car reviews right so i was in the car business so i just transferred

00:46:24.400 from that skill set over to doing a walk around around cars and and ian reels really brings the

00:46:29.040 like the visuals to life and i bring the energy the editor of the film yeah yeah my partner yeah

00:46:34.160 exactly so he what he does is he makes me look really good and what i bring is the energy i study

00:46:38.160 the cars um you know all that fun stuff so together we're a really good team uh and we average

00:46:42.960 about 1.5 million views a month uh anywhere between like 1.4 to 1.8 sometimes 2 million a month

00:46:48.240 depending on like you know the flows obviously for youtube for people that are on youtube going into

00:46:52.000 christmas this is game time for us right now it's like this is for us it's money time like we put

00:46:55.920 out as much content as we can um so that's our metrics and we we our average watch time is about

00:47:00.640 almost six minutes five minutes and 53 seconds which i consider a long time for people to watch

00:47:04.800 this for five and a half minutes it's a long what do you get for a click-through rate on those videos

00:47:08.960 um percentage-wide uh it ranges depending on the car between five percent and and 11 that's kind of

00:47:14.480 like the click-through anything over 10 for those guys watching is is actually considered viral it's like

00:47:20.240 yeah it's called money yeah it it it doesn't happen very often like i can even tell you right

00:47:25.680 now if i go to my analytics on yeah my channel because i just published a video like 30 minutes

00:47:30.640 before we hopped on nice and it should it should show me like a click-through rate on it by now let

00:47:35.840 me just check on the dashboard because i think youtube is like one of those questions that we can

00:47:39.520 talk about it says yes yeah so it's so it's trending right now like four out of ten which means it

00:47:45.600 probably it hasn't published the click-through yet which okay probably means it's like nine percent if i'm

00:47:49.920 lucky yeah if we did if we see when we see like three out of ten two out of ten when we see one

00:47:54.560 if we if it comes out of the gate like one out of ten you're like we're like dude we're like we're

00:47:58.320 like oh my god we're like give me the money but i mean like the ad revenue off videos doesn't pay

00:48:06.960 that much like does it pay more in the car space yes yeah it does personal finance is number one in

00:48:12.560 the youtube space number two is cars for sure 100 yeah like we get i get from a numbers person i'm very

00:48:19.200 transparent with everything but uh 36 about 36 dollars is what youtube gets and we get about

00:48:23.680 18 to 20 bucks for every thousand views so it's really good money man so if you do if you do a

00:48:28.240 million view video we make 20k i mean it's it's amazing money right if you try to put out there and

00:48:33.280 i mean the coolest part about like what i'm trying to build with my life which i've got and i've only

00:48:37.680 got this space uh thanks to my ex-wife because if she did not leave me i would not have this life 0.86

00:48:43.200 can you tell that story yeah yeah yeah okay you know the ex-wife story and how this all happened

00:48:47.440 yeah so we we were basically we were when i moved to canada at 17 i was this lost kid

00:48:51.920 i was like when it snowed for the first time i'm like that's amazing i love it um and you know and

00:48:57.040 going up in dubai we did not have um we had a certain type of woman we didn't have like all this 0.79

00:49:02.880 variety and of course when you come to canada i'm like holy snap these girls are beautiful right you 1.00

00:49:07.280 know so um so i went in london ontario a very boring town i sat her sat around and she was this girl

00:49:11.760 sat next to me she was super nice to me she was very kind but i just honestly didn't have the

00:49:15.760 confidence and have the balls never had experience with women uh so i just i basically felt the only

00:49:20.000 way i would ever do anything was just be her friend you know and she had boyfriends about 0.57

00:49:23.680 so on and so forth so um now fast forward uh i stayed in touch with her all i was like friend

00:49:28.560 zone your way into her oh i was dude i mean i was the king of friend zones like nobody could friend

00:49:33.280 zone me if this was friend zone i'd be all water baby friend zone is like friend zone is the best

00:49:40.720 place to be friend zone game is like the default game for most guys yeah for sure for sure man and

00:49:46.800 you know that's all like nobody teaches us these things no one teaches us entrepreneurship no one

00:49:50.640 teaches us how to be like how to be with women and also no thank you um but i i say that like the way

00:49:58.560 we have to be as we grow up changes in you know depending on the demographic of woman you want and 1.00

00:50:02.560 also as a human we grow right and and different times man the times also change as you kind of go

00:50:07.120 along but anyway so she was a great friend of mine uh we kept in touch obviously did my thing growing

00:50:11.760 up um had a lot of long-term relationships i'm not a huge guy to jump in and jump out of relationships

00:50:16.080 for me i like stability that's just who i am um and then obviously at uh 28 we got together uh 27 and

00:50:22.800 half 28 we got together and i felt like okay she was at a mental space that was good for me i felt like

00:50:27.280 this is my time for me so we got together and it just was very just natural whatever um and then we

00:50:31.200 had a kid um a year and a half or almost two years after and then now he's 12 i think about that

00:50:36.560 sometimes i'm like oh my god he's 12 it's crazy um so we had a kid at 12 um and then when my kid

00:50:41.040 was 10 we split up um we have different dynamics so my dynamic is i like to be outward i like to

00:50:46.000 spend time on businesses and energy not this guy that's never home because i was always kind of

00:50:50.320 available but my outlook on life is just broad global i mean listen now growing up in dubai you

00:50:55.920 have this you have this need to be global it's just the way it is everyone around me has traveled all

00:51:00.960 over all my friends that i grew up with are all over the world they're not only in canada or in

00:51:05.680 dubai they're everywhere right so when you have these things where our friends are all doing all

00:51:08.720 these type of things um and i like building businesses and i when i feel like i'm really

00:51:12.160 helping somebody over the course of relationships they do fade for sure there's no doubt about it and

00:51:17.520 the way she is she's a homebody she likes to stay at home she likes to work on the house and 0.99

00:51:20.560 i have zero interest in working on a house i'm like i do flips i do houses to me they're they're

00:51:24.720 totally replaceable i don't i'm not into that space but she was and then over time we just kind

00:51:30.160 of separated we just started becoming really good friends again so we had relationship we had kid and then

00:51:35.120 we just became friends again and so she was like i feel like i'm just living with my roommate and i

00:51:38.640 want someone with like lots of passion and someone that loves me a lot and puts me out of you know

00:51:42.480 essentially puts her on a pedestal and puts all the time and effort into her and for me it's like yeah

00:51:46.560 i'll give you 20 i'll give my business 30 i'll give my kid 30 i'll give my family 20 so i'm very split

00:51:51.760 upon how i do different things you know because i feel like i feel like i was not i was this body the

00:51:56.560 soul this this the sacrifice that my parents made is not for a guy that was very interesting you said that

00:52:02.320 she wanted to be pedestalized and worshiped um i think i think the key is man is that

00:52:08.560 she's a very pretty girl so pretty girls growing up always will have that they'll always have it they

00:52:13.440 always have a thousand guys wanting her right and when you have that then you have a guy like me 0.99

00:52:18.560 that's like no i'm like family unit i'm focused i want to make money i want to build it but the team

00:52:23.200 around me i want to build all this stuff i cannot put my i can do lots of things but i cannot spend all

00:52:29.600 my time on one specific human i just can't it's just it's not for me you know it is for it could

00:52:35.280 be for lots of guys and there are lots of guys in that space where they're happy just working their

00:52:38.960 nine-to-five or they're happy doing their business that was interesting for a reason though mike because

00:52:42.960 women they tend to get bored of a guy that puts them up on a pedestal for sure too much too long too 1.00

00:52:49.520 often and then they sort of like get distracted by other things that like 100 you know there's an old

00:52:54.640 saying in england where i spent some time where it was you've got to be a little bit mean to keep 0.97

00:52:59.600 them keen right yeah and yeah i'm not saying you like be an asshole but at the same time like i find 0.97

00:53:05.840 it very interesting when women say like i want to be worshipped i want to be idolized i want to be 0.96

00:53:09.440 put up on a pedestal and then when they get it and that guy shows up yeah they kind of look at him

00:53:13.920 like a beta male and they're like i'm not interested in this guy anymore like i want the alpha that's

00:53:17.840 like more distracted by their stuff for sure that's that's bang on there's no there's no doubt in

00:53:23.280 my mind that's exactly what happened you know i think that we get we it's it's our focus can't be

00:53:28.720 on on on another human all the time at some point it's difficult to manage that in a long-term

00:53:33.760 relationship because like you make that commitment you know you have the kid you know you're at there

00:53:38.240 chasing excellence you're giving her time and you're giving her interest but then they want more

00:53:41.760 but if you give them too much more than what they want then they get bored they're like oh this

00:53:46.320 guy's giving me too much attention like why can't he just be doing something else why is he always on

00:53:49.600 my feet yeah for sure it's a weird balance isn't it it's a weird balance man and i mean listen man

00:53:55.840 i think that there's there's things i have to work on i'm i mean even in my businesses on some of my

00:53:59.760 partnerships i'm just way too nice i mean i know this and i'm just way too nice but i always tell my

00:54:03.840 parents i'm like it's worked for me and i feel like you know what the more i give back it's more

00:54:07.120 effort there's more time there's no partnerships 50 50 so even the same relationships there's no

00:54:11.200 relations with 50 50 i'm like i'm 100 i'm 100 percent getting the money i'm 100 putting

00:54:15.920 myself out there you're 100 doing the work the work at home you're 100 building some deep love

00:54:20.720 connect whatever the dynamic is between relationships no nothing's 50 50 everything

00:54:25.520 something does more than something it's just the basis of life it doesn't really work it's all

00:54:29.360 just it's made made believe stuff um but yeah for sure man i think that that so what happened when

00:54:33.840 i got when she told me in my mind is my my focus is like hey we're gonna build a family we're gonna

00:54:40.160 make this family unit be in a situation where we can travel do all these type of things which is what

00:54:43.680 i'm doing right now but i want to do it obviously as a unit so when i came back from columbia she

00:54:48.560 like dropped the news the day after i came and she's like i'm just not happy i feel like for me

00:54:52.560 it's i feel like we're friends and i just feel like i want more and and i'm and the problem is when you

00:54:56.400 start a base of a relationship with for me at least when it starts off as major friendship and then you

00:55:00.880 try to go from friendship to like real like lovers and passion and all this stuff it's a slow climb

00:55:05.840 it's not a it's not like passion right away you know you can't have it for sure that's not saying you can't

00:55:10.320 but to sustain that over the long period of time it's more like common goal stuff and anybody that's

00:55:14.080 been you know been together for with anybody for 10 or 12 years a majority of them fall into my

00:55:18.400 category right so when that happened to me it was like devastating man obviously like i was like i had

00:55:23.440 all these dreams and hopes and of course like this this bottle gets pushed off the you know pushed

00:55:27.840 off where you're looking right so you're like trying to figure your life out um but there's a few

00:55:30.800 things i knew man i i knew that like i knew that anybody i was around my energy was contagious number one

00:55:35.840 the number two is i had i had two buckets in front of me i had a bucket that i could pout and be like 1.00

00:55:39.840 you know what i'm gonna just feel sorry and shitty for myself and i did obviously like i needed that i

00:55:43.680 needed a few months in my mind especially when you go on google and you go on google you type in

00:55:48.240 how long does it take to get over a marriage you know how long it says four years i was like four years

00:55:54.720 i'm like are you crazy four years i'm like four months is gonna be a lot for me so it was not right

00:55:58.960 about everything no no no no so i i what i did was i just realized man there's two buckets there's a

00:56:05.200 bucket of like man there's the life that i want to live and there's times in my mind i thought when

00:56:09.520 i was married i thought you know what if i was alone or single you know the times you have issues

00:56:13.760 with your your spouse or partner you're like man if i was single i'd be doing all these things and

00:56:17.840 now i'm single i'm doing exactly all those things i'm not like nothing stopped me and and whether

00:56:22.560 you know i get blasted in my youtube comments about anything people want to talk about me

00:56:26.560 or something i touch fails i don't care money comes money goes i am the asset i know where i stand

00:56:33.120 i know what i've built i know what i bring to the table and i know who i am inside and i'm and

00:56:36.720 whoever's around me including my family i just want to always make them proud man and i always

00:56:41.120 want to feel like man i'm standing on my own two feet and i don't ever let myself get high and i

00:56:45.520 don't ever let myself get low and that's a good rule i mean if you tell yourself and especially your

00:56:50.400 kids you know i tell my daughter this i'm like don't ever disappoint me right like don't ever do

00:56:54.640 anything that's going to disappoint me right like i think that if you hold yourself to the

00:56:59.040 standards and higher standards you know in your life you'll always get better results like you are

00:57:04.480 we've been going for what 57 minutes i usually do these podcasts for like an hour hour and a half

00:57:09.600 i could tell right now we could easily go for three hours okay like my next calls at one i'll

00:57:13.920 keep going until you say rich i gotta go no i'm good baby heads up heads up so um i have a little list

00:57:21.680 i have more stuff to say i know i know like this is one of these podcasts i go for hours

00:57:27.280 hours um and i think more people guys would know there's absolutely no boredom from my end

00:57:31.520 from my perspective and i don't think people are getting it on their end um so i want to talk to

00:57:36.080 you about a whole bunch of stuff um let's talk about youtube for a bit because you're a you're a car

00:57:41.520 channel um is what i tagged in the description so you guys can go click it and find him on youtube

00:57:47.040 um i'm i'm interested in some perspective on car reviews how you built the channel how you get the cars

00:57:55.360 from either manufacturers or dealers whether it's a press car you get as a dealer car um

00:58:01.600 you know i you're actually the first person that has agreed to talk to me about their car channel

00:58:06.880 believe it or not um yeah i reached out to a few people over the years because

00:58:11.840 the only videos that i watch really are car uh videos reviews um like doug demero is a big one for

00:58:20.240 me like he's a big geek that just does like really captivating videos right um sailing videos right

00:58:26.320 like i watch 2025 yeah yeah quirks and features right yeah um um and i do a lot of uh sailing

00:58:34.160 videos right like i'm really interested in sailing and that sort of lifestyle so um i've reached out

00:58:38.720 to a few guys that put out car videos like i reached out to matt farah at the smoking tire

00:58:43.440 uh this was a couple years ago funny story so i messaged him i said hey man you know i've been 0.73

00:58:47.440 watching your shit for a while um and my angle when i would message people would be like he's a 0.87

00:58:52.400 big channel so i need to find something that is going to solve the problem for him to get his 0.99

00:58:56.800 attention so i went through his website i'm like hey you got a couple broken links over here that i

00:59:00.160 took okay you might want to fix by the way this is what i do would you like to hop on a podcast and

00:59:04.720 he's like yeah okay sure and then i get a email back after i schedule in the podcast um 20 you know

00:59:12.560 30 minutes later because from the email that i was using there's an autoresponder that goes to links

00:59:16.560 and a bunch of my my books my products my videos and stuff like that and he's like on second thought

00:59:21.040 i'll pass and i'm like really like what turned this guy off and then i watched this interview

00:59:27.040 between him and doug demero the guy's a total socialist lib eh like he's like he's not about

00:59:33.120 any of the stuff that i talk about and i didn't realize that because because i'm watching him as a

00:59:37.280 car reviewer yes yeah you're you're a different kind of guy like you and i sort of click in that way

00:59:42.960 um so i'm glad you're on here so how did you start the channel how did you get the cars like

00:59:47.680 what's the process for reviewing the cars for you yeah i i think man in all of our lives we go to a

00:59:52.880 point where we're we do something and we're like this is working this is not working so when i used

00:59:56.480 to work at audi i used to sell a ton of audi q5 so it's a little small suv everybody wants them

01:00:00.880 it's a more popular car so what i did is i did a walk around the vehicle and i used to send it to

01:00:04.560 clients because when they showed up i didn't want to have to do an hour walk around every time i used

01:00:08.000 to sell as high as 27 audi q5s a month so for me to be like walk around the q5 100 times would drive 0.65

01:00:12.800 me crazy so i did a walk around i showed everything anybody needed to know so they could watch watch at

01:00:16.560 home with their kids their wife or whatever that happens to be and that was like a quick link and

01:00:20.240 then when they showed up the dealership my time would really get saved i would not burn it i wouldn't

01:00:23.680 have to do five q5 deliveries and take up my whole day i could do five and take up like three hours so it

01:00:28.720 kind of worked really well that way management hated it they absolutely hate it they wanted that

01:00:31.920 personal bond that personal touch but of course like you know the golden handcuffs from above were like you

01:00:35.760 have to do it i'm like i'm not doing it and i'm bringing client i'm bringing money to the table

01:00:39.200 i'm not doing it so i was really adamant of sticking to my own lane um so i started putting

01:00:43.760 on i said a couple of them i didn't put on youtube um but this is going back like 10 years man and i

01:00:48.240 used to do like i used to do like audi sidus it's like blind spot indicator so you're driving a car and

01:00:52.400 there's a car can come next your light comes on i would show people how it would work on the highway

01:00:55.600 at night as well as lane keep and stuff like that and those videos get to like 100 200 000 views and

01:00:59.600 i was like this is crazy and then i forgot about it i totally just left it alone um and then up to like

01:01:05.360 three and a half years ago um in 2019 yeah 2019 middle of 2019 i put i put a couple youtube stuff

01:01:12.000 like this walk around and it would do well so i did six videos by myself five or six videos by myself

01:01:16.320 just me um i had some kid help me at the time and and the impressions i got was four million so just

01:01:22.640 if you think about numbers your impression is when you see it on the side so an impression if somebody

01:01:26.000 doesn't click it it's just a thing that you see on like your you know your desktop you see on the

01:01:29.200 side so i got four million impressions so audi launched this thing so we're going to drop the audi a6

01:01:34.000 and we're spending all this money and it's going to get six million impressions over the next two

01:01:38.960 months and i'm like okay i got four million impressions off six videos so i showed my own

01:01:43.200 the owner at the time and i'm like look this is crazy i want to do car videos only for audis like

01:01:46.880 i've been yelling this from the skies forever and nobody listens how long ago is this uh this is 2019

01:01:52.640 okay so yeah 2018 so i i he and he's like no no no we can't do that we can't do that you know

01:01:57.600 whatever if you want to do it you have to you have to push the dealership and i'm like listen

01:02:00.560 i'm like dude nobody watches stuff from a dealership they want a human they want some

01:02:05.360 face they want someone that bleeds they don't want somebody that's like a like a name for a brand 0.89

01:02:09.920 they don't give a shit about that humans want to watch humans man that's the deal those are the 0.98

01:02:13.280 shittiest car reviews when you say hey i'm i'm bob from tyler's chevrolet dealership and here's the 0.98

01:02:18.240 new it's got beautiful oh my god so so what i did so i took i took that and i started doing stuff

01:02:27.840 and i just i called it audi sport mike because i was like the oh i was every a lot of audi dealers

01:02:34.160 that they can sell an r8 you have to be an r8 dealer to sell an r8 it's an investment to

01:02:37.840 dealership needs and i was the audi r8 guy and i owned an r8 i drove one i was like the audi r8 guy

01:02:43.200 so so i did like things about i was called audi sport mike and i was like you know what i used to

01:02:47.440 have a v10 manually oh sick sick 20 2015 20 2011 it was it was white on red with a black top it was a

01:02:56.320 spider beautiful car dope dope audis are awesome they're all i love them they wouldn't give me

01:03:00.640 cars the longest time and audi head office still doesn't give me cars it's so funny really but

01:03:03.760 anyways yeah it's just politics man it's crazy um and i'll get it dive deep a little bit yeah yeah

01:03:09.440 what i did was i did i did i did a bit of the walk arounds i put online obviously got a

01:03:12.480 troll attraction um and then i needed somebody so i had a buddy that introduced me to ian

01:03:16.240 who's he we just we did the exact same thing but we just did walk around with videos and he was

01:03:20.320 also learning at the time because our growth is like we've got it we both gained a ton of experience

01:03:25.680 um so we started putting videos online and then they started getting some traction and we thought

01:03:28.720 you know what man and for me from a business perspective it just makes sense for me to get

01:03:32.160 somebody that's committed to me forever so i said look man we're gonna start this thing we're gonna

01:03:35.760 split everything 50 50. um you do all the editing you you know you you handle everything to make me look

01:03:40.800 good and i'll handle everything with the car perspective and the face and the studying so

01:03:45.440 we complement each other completely we're not we don't share any sort of self-interest it's just

01:03:50.880 just how did you find this guy um through a friend actually through a friend at the time

01:03:54.880 and yeah it was just it just worked man i sometimes just started this line to i'm and

01:03:58.960 listen when i when you meet me about anything anybody that meets me i'm always talking about

01:04:04.160 where it can work i mean i meet somebody that that i feel like there's a gap in their space in

01:04:08.480 their life i will try to fill it with either me or i feel with somebody i know or somebody that

01:04:12.320 i've met and i'm like hey i think you do really well with this so i'm a really good connector

01:04:16.000 like my connecting game is like on point i'm very good at just understand i'm very good at

01:04:20.480 remembering names for the most part and i'm very good at kind of understanding what somebody needs

01:04:24.240 and what somebody has to offer and putting them together and being that person that did so

01:04:27.920 really so it's totally important thing man so anyway so so going through that with him um

01:04:32.880 and then audi audi was giving me this whole like blurb about like they wouldn't even give me they

01:04:37.840 wouldn't give me leads new customers that walk in they'd be like yeah i don't give it to mike

01:04:40.720 because he has so much money he doesn't need the money they're playing this 0.97

01:04:43.120 bullshit game and i'm like just trying to control me they're like just pulling all these like 0.99

01:04:46.400 control tactics and i'm like i'm like guys can you not see that this thing is going to blow up 0.98

01:04:50.480 like i've got audi spending huge money we're sitting in meetings talking about this audi a6 and all the

01:04:54.480 money that audi's spending meanwhile this guy with like six videos is getting almost the same

01:04:57.840 attention like this is going to work so i told me in this we built i built the studio i got these

01:05:02.160 lights from china because this is the big play right this is the big thing that helped us i got cars

01:05:06.320 and then i then i said i said you know audi this is cool i'm good with my life i want to i want to work from

01:05:11.360 home so i told them i told them in november in november of 2020 2019 i said i want to work from

01:05:16.240 home i'm taking my clients i want to do my stuff on the side i want to build my life i have all these

01:05:19.680 dreams they were like no you have to sit in the dealership i'm like i sit in the dealership you

01:05:23.760 don't give me leads i can't do anything and i just have to sell the same clients that i can do from home

01:05:27.680 they're like yeah you have to sit because you give me a special preference i'm like but i've been

01:05:30.800 selling audi's for 17 years i need a special preference anyway they give it to me i quit so i didn't

01:05:35.840 quit right away i gave them two months they said it's not gonna work for us i said okay fine see you later so

01:05:39.840 then in 2020 i we i built we i built the studio uh me and i started filming in here um yeah so this

01:05:47.280 studio is kind of cool it's a it's a 4 000 square foot i cut it in half it's 2 000 square feet the

01:05:51.840 other half of it that you can't see has all my roofing stuff in it all my renovation materials

01:05:56.160 basically like my shop on the other side and this is this is what i built out so and i bought this space

01:06:00.880 because i had a roofing job that required me to put in drywall in a fired building so it was a

01:06:06.080 eight unit townhouse complex and i needed to cut drywall so because what happened is there was

01:06:11.200 one fire it spread in the attic and burnt the whole place down so the fire marshal came in and said the

01:06:15.200 only way that this is going to be approved for insurance is if all these other eight complexes

01:06:20.480 have fire rated drywall so you have to put drywall in the attics and the attics are all trusses so

01:06:25.520 they're all like squares triangles and stuff right so you have to put sheets of cut out triangles of

01:06:30.000 double drywall attach it screw it put fire caulking so i so they reached out to they reached out to all

01:06:35.440 these different companies to do it um and then through a contact it came to me because i like

01:06:38.880 connecting people were like hey this cup this this insurance company looking for somebody and i said

01:06:42.800 i'll do it i'll and i'll do it even before buying this place i'll do it but i'm like i can't do it out

01:06:46.880 of trailers with my roofing company i'll do it out of this place so i came i bought i bought this

01:06:51.440 place for 170 grand at the time and i built the studio so the city is costing about 70k to build

01:06:55.600 um has a little bit of backstory of how the studio came to kind of fruition but so now we're sitting

01:07:00.080 now we're sitting in 2020 at the very early beginning of 2020 so you're all in at this point

01:07:04.320 on this on this car channel yeah i mean listen and i had i had money coming in from real estate streams

01:07:08.880 from whether it be like my rentals i mean at the time i had 100 and i didn't have 100 i had 144 in 2015

01:07:15.040 in 2020 i think i had 110 108 remember i used to go on those tours i used to sell my shitty properties

01:07:21.520 to kids that just wanted to buy into real estate was like the you know generational wealth and all that

01:07:24.880 other bf so i kind of sold all that stuff to those kids that just were just desperate to buy anything

01:07:29.360 so i would do like weird kind of funky deals where i can't really talk about it on camera but just

01:07:33.360 funky deals you know what i mean so anyway so it worked for me um so i had i had money like i didn't

01:07:38.720 i basically had money i honestly had money since i was like 24 essentially because it's kind of helpful

01:07:43.840 but um so i you know so i did this we built this i built the studio i always say we because it's

01:07:48.400 i'm nothing without somebody that can film me right and he's nothing without me so it's a kind of a

01:07:52.640 two or three people don't understand like like editing is a lot of work like when i first started

01:07:57.920 the entrepreneurs in car channel my angle was to interview entrepreneurs and their success rights

01:08:03.600 and i did i think four or five episodes and the work that's involved with the drone shots and the

01:08:10.160 edits and the on location and then you got to do all the the like you up everything that you say you

01:08:14.880 know for the first 500 videos right for sure and then for sure i just didn't have like the runway and

01:08:20.720 the car access to do it so i was so i sort of pivoted to making videos in my car you know around

01:08:25.680 the same time anyway sorry sorry no no no no yeah but it's a lot of work yeah it it is it is a ton i

01:08:31.440 think it's a two-way street right i mean getting the cars building the contacts you know going back

01:08:34.640 and forth it's a lot of work on both sides which is great that it's just two of us people think there's

01:08:38.320 a whole team behind us it's just two of us which is amazing so i did this um and then to get cars

01:08:43.680 nobody's giving me cars at this point so i just reached out to a ton of buddies i knew my contacts

01:08:47.360 whatever um and we did we did one car that kind of one one slight thing before this the way the

01:08:52.640 channel kind of grew a little bit was this whole remember i joked around right in the beginning i

01:08:56.480 said like people call an suv a truck and a truck an sud remember i was joking about that initially

01:09:01.200 so i did an audi q8 which is a sort of a a smaller suv and then audi q7 is a larger suv and then i looked

01:09:08.000 at the grill and i'm like and i'm like look at this truck look at this truck i love this truck look

01:09:12.800 at the grill in this truck and i kept calling it truck truck truck truck truck truck and the internet

01:09:16.720 blew up on my truck because it's not a truck in north america it's an suv a truck is an f-150 and

01:09:23.360 an suv is a is an suv right you know what i mean sometimes people off with a video it's the only

01:09:29.520 way dude it's the only way same with like my columbia stuff people are in there blasting of like

01:09:34.640 gringos go back stop gentrifying people are like columbia is dangerous and then you're people 0.83

01:09:38.400 like columbia is beautiful and you're like what does the investment take so i have all this mishmash of

01:09:42.400 of hate and love and care all in comments and then it blows stuff up so that's what happened

01:09:46.640 with the youtube stuff and i was like oh my god i gotta make i gotta make not controversial stuff

01:09:50.320 but stuff that like kind of throws it off so first of all of energy so every video someone's like how

01:09:55.360 many lines does this guy do i'm like dude i don't do drugs if i did drugs we would be on a different

01:09:59.680 planet right now this is like normal energy mike over here and i've been like this my whole life man

01:10:03.920 people always told me people have always told me the statement they're always like

01:10:07.920 slow down slow if you want to be respected slow down i'm like okay sometimes i get it

01:10:12.400 i have to slow down but for me i'm like energy you know so look that's that's who you are you

01:10:19.120 can't change who you are man that's the way your dna is wired that's how your programming works

01:10:24.000 utilize it and and like double down on your strength and that's what you've done with the channel right

01:10:29.040 yeah man yeah i make like and i'm always full of energy and for sure it bothers some people and

01:10:33.440 trust me man when i watch people you're always going to bother somebody there's always somebody

01:10:36.400 that's going to be annoyed by your presence exactly i know i'm like dude make fun of my skinny 0.97

01:10:41.120 ass ankles go all day please just go in the comments and comment how skinny my ankles are 0.94

01:10:45.120 tell me that like i'm receding hairline tell me i need to hear it you still read the comments 0.95

01:10:50.320 no stop not really dude i i kind of stop reading them it's like every once in a while i'll go in

01:10:55.440 and i'll read something and some guy leaves some dipshit i don't know like i mean like the vast

01:10:59.520 majority of it's positive but then you always come across stuff like you're trimming your beard wrong 0.99

01:11:03.520 your mouth looks like a cat's asshole and you got to trim it this way or it's like 0.99

01:11:06.640 okay okay in the world in my comments like this i know i know well listen man everybody's tough 0.99

01:11:12.640 behind a computer and you know you got to give everybody credit to where it is because honestly

01:11:15.840 like negative comments still help our channel positive comments yeah comments like comment

01:11:19.520 away man like it always comment away exactly comment away so so then we sort of started doing this and

01:11:23.680 then so i got so the the one about like the truck truck truck truck truck that kind of blew up but

01:11:27.440 then when we got the studio i did a buddy rsq8 and that killed like that got over a million views yeah

01:11:32.640 we killed so when we did a i did a range rover sva autobiography same two friends um they're

01:11:37.440 actually married um yeah they gave me their cars and that kind of blew up so i just started getting

01:11:41.200 cars from everybody i could possibly get cars with and also i'm a huge car guy so i would buy cars

01:11:45.840 that's crazy i would buy cars just to get them on the channel and then sell them and take a little

01:11:49.840 bit of a loss because i felt like man i gotta do everything to make this thing work and i think there

01:11:53.600 was a time when doug was getting uh touro cars where he would rent them for the day review it and then

01:12:00.320 drop it off like i think there was a time when he was doing that too at the early stages of his

01:12:03.680 channel as well and dude and i've done i mean speaking of entrepreneurship i've done touro i

01:12:07.680 have a 36 unit building and i've done with my ex this is like maybe eight years or seven eight years

01:12:11.520 ago uh when true was just starting out i put i put two cars one specifically was a ford edge that i

01:12:17.680 bought as a trade-in and i paid eight thousand bucks for it i used it at touro for one full year

01:12:22.160 and i made 15k on touro totally risking it because there's only one insurance company in canada at the

01:12:26.400 time that the touro um and and the only people that use touro and mark my words dude on this

01:12:32.000 factual information the only people that use touro are drug dealers that's it because they can move 0.97

01:12:38.160 stuff from a to b with no license they can make some bullshit ass license and a debit card and touro 0.86

01:12:44.000 will give them a car and they will use your car with your license plate because when the cops run 0.92

01:12:49.120 the plate they're not pulling that person over because it's me that's why touro is 100 really i didn't

01:12:57.040 yes dude and i only know i mean obviously i know lots of things and yeah this this is kind of a

01:13:01.280 side thing here how did you know did you find some powder in the car somewhere or something i'm like

01:13:05.440 let's keep it all up so we can sell it no i just i just do i i mean listen man i'm i'm a really deep

01:13:12.000 diver in in in everything to do whether it's be whether it be above board below board on the side of

01:13:18.000 the board i'm down for anything uh and i try to explain this to some people and they're like well why

01:13:22.640 do you want to know how scams work and i'm like dude when you're going to barcelona what are they

01:13:26.640 what does everybody coach you on what does everybody coach you on do you know yeah it's

01:13:30.800 be careful when you're in city centers because there's so many scammers pickpockets baby they

01:13:35.360 teach you pickpocketing they will show you how it works and there's there's classes on how to

01:13:39.920 pickpocket so you don't get pickpocketed yourself which is one of my core bases i need to know what's

01:13:44.480 going on with the world so that number one i don't get scammed and number two i understand how

01:13:48.480 everybody's mind works and that's one of the core pieces man because everybody what like

01:13:54.640 it's just like it's such a long deep winding conversation but back to youtube because i'll

01:13:58.000 get really passionate about yeah but yeah so the channel so you film these cars you get lots of

01:14:03.760 views you start releasing man this is crazy and then and then guess what happened in in march of 2020

01:14:09.680 covet happened and everything got locked down this studio was like it was like the timing was perfect it

01:14:14.720 was like perfect my old bosses were like oh what do we do now like we can't sell cars we have to

01:14:19.760 sell something what do we do online i'm like dude if you listen to me i would have gone to the dealer

01:14:26.400 and done all my videos and gonna got all these car sales from people buying from me because i was

01:14:30.880 online but you don't have me anymore guess what you have now you have somebody that's right down

01:14:34.880 the street that's doing all this car stuff and i can film any car i wanted because this was my space

01:14:40.960 i can have a bed here and sleep here and i can film cars exactly and that's exactly what i did so i

01:14:45.680 filmed all through covet i got cars from whoever i could get cars from all through covet we obviously

01:14:49.440 got to stay with the restrictions whatever but i got all the cars and everybody's staying at home

01:14:52.800 and guess what they're doing they're watching youtube and when they want to get most of your

01:14:55.680 cars from then at that time was that like press cars or was it through dealers yeah so no i

01:15:00.800 don't so there's a there's so we have a very very weird dynamic in canada in canada it's very

01:15:05.520 writer based so what happens is that the the the speed at which cars are given to us journalists

01:15:11.600 so i'm actually i've been as of two years i've been a journalist in canada i've been an automotive

01:15:15.280 journalist and part of it is because i need the ticket to help you have to register with some kind

01:15:20.160 of journalist guild or something yeah so you have to have the writer skills yep uh you have to have

01:15:24.640 proofs of purpose of work and because i because i'm on face all the time and i have enough content and

01:15:29.200 my face has been published enough times well yeah now i'm a journalist because i am a speaking

01:15:32.480 facts essentially right so um so it's so i try to make really energetic videos and so i take

01:15:37.680 these videos of cars of people that i've done i take a few dealership cars that want to work with

01:15:41.120 me and then i take them and i push that out at the same time when i have videos that are doing well

01:15:45.040 i reach out to some of the contacts that i've had in the car business i have you know like

01:15:48.400 overlapping real estate humans that have either watched me on previous podcasts on property and

01:15:53.280 they're like man that's crazy you're doing cars and i'm like this is my studio would you loan 0.93

01:15:56.240 me the shittiest car you have so we'd get a bunch of shitty cars and i'd film them and then

01:16:00.400 from there i just reached out to more manufacturers so now so every manufacturer has a press fleet that 0.77

01:16:04.320 they'll give out to you know in in order of rating essentially like you can get most cars like most

01:16:09.040 guys can get press cars in a you know in a lineup right so you're not getting a car when it's first

01:16:12.640 launched you're getting maybe six or eight months down the road um and it's not important for writers

01:16:16.880 because it's only important for writers in canada when the car hits the dealerships but the problem is

01:16:21.920 is that for us youtubers most of our viewership is american so the americans want it right away now

01:16:28.480 now my competition is americans watching the newest product but in canada i don't get the newest

01:16:34.480 product i get almost the newest product on some brands and some brands i'm so far behind which is

01:16:39.680 like my tesla as an example my tesla was launched in march of 20 i don't know what day 20 it's a 2021

01:16:45.520 2021 actually march of 2020 i think was launched the plaid was launched in 21 so at the time world's

01:16:50.320 fastest car car is amazing i'm like i gotta buy one i put my order in um then and then i got the car i

01:16:56.080 was the second one in canada to get this the plaid but i was so late on youtube that even though i was

01:16:59.840 the newest one here nobody cared about it i got very little views in comparison to the car launch

01:17:04.000 at the same time so in canada we are competing with writers and the writers don't care when the

01:17:08.800 car is out as long as it can as long as it's the same time at the dealership but for me i'm competing

01:17:12.880 with the newest latest greatest and the only way i can get that is through americans and the pr

01:17:17.520 department in canada and the pr department in the states are they're like stay in your own lane you

01:17:22.480 know when you're doing the launch we'll do a launch maybe we'll piggyback on your launch but then we only

01:17:25.680 have a small amount of spots and those small amount of spots are only used for people that have been

01:17:31.040 a writer for a long time and it's only fair i mean listen man if you've been doing something for 20

01:17:34.320 years and you you know them in and out and you're writing for like the toronto star or wheel section

01:17:37.920 or whatever that's your right to go a new youtuber like me that's just kind of up in the up and coming

01:17:42.400 it's not fair for me to take that spot right so i i really any invite i get i go i don't i don't care

01:17:47.600 where it is i don't care what it is i don't care what car it is i'm going i'm like i'm i'm aggressive man

01:17:52.240 i mean what else do you start to get invites at a certain point or are you getting them now where

01:17:56.560 uh like lamborghini will call you and say hey we're launching a new lambo come to italy or ferrari will

01:18:01.680 say come to sardinia and drive the new you know 296 whatever yeah i mean i would say to be honest

01:18:07.280 i would say that it's it's not there yet it's not there yet i i don't think that you see at the

01:18:11.440 other day i'm still took the bosses let's call who are the bosses the bosses are the pr people that

01:18:16.880 want to or the media relations that want to give guys like me cars they have to want to like

01:18:21.680 youtubers and sometimes youtubers are like oh i don't like this i don't like that so they're

01:18:26.000 putting themselves out there spending their spending their you know their their ticket

01:18:29.680 essentially on these three four five people and if they can knock the car that kind of restricts

01:18:34.320 maybe getting the car and some brands are open to you destroying the car and some brands are like no

01:18:38.800 man if you're going to do that you're never getting a car again so you have to balance it and one of

01:18:42.480 the things i did right the beginning i said man i'm going to be truthful and if the car sucks i'm

01:18:46.160 going to say the car sucks so now at least we have a following that's big enough that i can say the

01:18:51.040 car sucks and i've kind of always done that because if i felt like a brand a brand is not going to give 0.92

01:18:55.280 me cars uh and i will the thing is man is that who likes a yes man nobody nobody likes a yes man 0.99

01:19:03.520 we want somebody with some character we want somebody that actually actually like not castrates

01:19:08.240 the car but criticizes it in a positive way like why are you putting all piano black on this center 0.85

01:19:13.600 console like piano black sucks i hate it yeah you can see it's getting beat up why why are you 0.80

01:19:18.880 you're you're listen listen porsche you are keeping v8 i have that in my turbo s piano black console i 0.94

01:19:24.880 hate it hate it hate it but but but porsche is listening so porsche what they're doing is now in

01:19:29.760 their cayenne s which is a big money maker for them they put a v8 there used to be a v6 but they're

01:19:34.320 putting a v8 guess what everybody else is doing like mercedes behind me motor engines yeah yes yes

01:19:38.960 exactly they're putting in a they're putting a four banger which is what everybody's doing so you have

01:19:43.120 some brands that are listening and some brands are like hey let's you know let's save the world so

01:19:47.200 it really depends on what brand you appeal with and what brand is is in for you right so for every

01:19:52.880 every guy like me has two to five brands that were like that are committed to us they're like we don't

01:19:58.400 care we don't care we're giving you everything we're inviting you everywhere and we love you and

01:20:02.320 there are other brands that have to fight and claw and say like well how come you have this car

01:20:05.600 and how can you get that car it's not fair you can say that but they don't give a 0.98

01:20:09.440 shit so they're like i'm not gonna give you attention i'll just build myself with these five 0.87

01:20:12.320 guys that are that have my back and i'll grow right so so to get cars to answer your question 0.98

01:20:15.680 yes they're all um so i'm in london ontario um all the cars are in toronto so i have to drive every

01:20:20.400 monday my sister so i have a pretty big family affair um everybody kind of has a piece because

01:20:26.000 for me it's about my family and i feel like every piece of my life uh my family needs to be in it

01:20:30.800 because i'd rather them do stuff for me than do something for somebody else and get paid by somebody

01:20:34.000 else i'd just rather pay them the same money or a little bit more you know and have the flexibility so

01:20:37.440 my sister works for me she she helps me with all the write-ups she researches all the cars um and at the same time

01:20:41.680 as well she helps pick up the cars from toronto so i don't have to my time's important right so i

01:20:44.720 can't go back and work all the time so she does that would you ever do or have you ever done a 0.89

01:20:49.120 video like i think one of the videos that caught my attention on match channel on the smoking tire

01:20:54.640 was when he did the uh flame spitting twin turbo 355 or 348 ferrari right and it was like yeah oh

01:21:03.920 shit this guy's got my attention i clicked on that it did like millions and millions of views so i'm 0.65

01:21:08.080 just wondering like have you ever thought about diversifying from new cars to like tuned or like

01:21:13.360 cars where you could put like a icap title to really get their attention totally i youtube has

01:21:19.600 changed a little bit though i mean you know i mean anybody starts a new channel right now it's a

01:21:23.280 disaster like try to get subscribers followers it's very very difficult you know it's very hard um so i i

01:21:29.120 have to kind of stay in my lane i mean when i do try putting some stuff that's not aligned with new

01:21:33.760 cars and reviews people don't really like it man so i mean we will try i mean i'm i'm down to try

01:21:39.120 anything um you know i mean so i'm doing i'm doing a friends uh his name steve he's got he's got a he's

01:21:45.680 got a charger i was for some because so chrysler i thought he was quick like chrysler has banned me

01:21:51.360 from giving giving me cars this is like what happened i jumped um uh so you know the mojave like the

01:21:55.680 gladi jeep gladi or mojave yeah it's basically like a it's a jeep right it's a pickup one isn't it

01:22:00.640 the pickup one right yeah so so every video i watch this this thing it was jumping okay it was

01:22:05.040 mojave desert so what does it explain it's jumping over little like you know it's the desert right

01:22:09.360 you're jumping yeah it's like a baja truck yeah it's exactly it like a rapper right so i went to

01:22:13.680 a buddy's like little spot and i was jumping this raptor and we made it like super glamorous and super

01:22:19.520 like not real we made it jump like it was doing this jump forever and like and this thing would

01:22:24.560 actually do amazing dude had great shocks on it it was amazing it's got like the twin you know so it

01:22:28.800 just moves the oil somewhere else so it can has more reach whatever um so we did this jump and

01:22:34.080 i sent it to chrysler the guy that was getting chrysler this is like the fourth or fifth chrysler

01:22:37.120 we were getting and he loved it and he's like this is amazing amazing and then he's like and then i'm

01:22:41.680 like okay all's good and then he just stopped responding to me and i was like what's going on

01:22:45.040 and then i applied for this journalist thing and when i applied for this journalist thing they're like

01:22:49.280 they what they do is the journey you see that you're applied then they put it out to all the

01:22:52.400 other journalists and say and manufacture and say hey this guy's applied do you have anything wrong any

01:22:55.760 issues with him let us know and then i almost got denied because this guy was like he's like

01:23:02.560 he jumped our car he didn't respect our vehicle i'm like what i'm like dude you love this thing

01:23:09.040 that's how they sell these things they put them in like video trailers and make them look like

01:23:12.720 off-road baja racing trucks yes so and man and for me it's like dude i put we put some time in

01:23:17.680 production of it i had this great compound uh the guy's name is mark freeman who's compound he's

01:23:22.320 an awesome guy he jumps like dirt bikes and stuff so it was kind of it was a really good setup for

01:23:25.280 all that stuff and i was like this is a great video it's going to kill it and it actually killed

01:23:28.080 it actually did really really well for us at the time like at the time getting 100 000 views was a

01:23:31.680 big number at the time because we were just starting you know so anyways he gave he gave us this stuff

01:23:35.920 and anyway so we so chrysler cut us off so anyway so back to the steep thing about having this hybrid

01:23:40.640 car he has like a don't don't quote me on this but i think it's like a 69 whatever the two doors

01:23:45.440 either i mean a car of you guys should know what the difference between charging and challenges but i

01:23:48.560 don't think about chrysler whatsoever so it's it's the uh dodge charger it's like the dukes

01:23:54.400 of hazard car yeah yeah exactly so it's a hazard car but he modified it all to make it all modern

01:23:59.600 day so that's a lot it's a full restaurant and it's this is sick dude and it makes like an

01:24:05.120 horsepower stick it looks all retro like dukes of hazard but it makes like it's the perfect car so

01:24:10.320 he's dope he's cool to let me bring the car on on here so that's kind of a unique one that i'm

01:24:13.760 gonna bring on i don't know how well it's gonna do but i hope it does well you know um but there are

01:24:17.600 but there are specific factors in having youtube channel on what cars we have to post if i post

01:24:21.840 sports cars they poop i post 911 carrera t poops so bad i put a 911 targa poops i put a turbo sort of

01:24:29.440 poops i put a lambo poops i put an suv a hyundai whatever a telluride a palisade a full runner 0.79

01:24:35.840 a land cruiser this g-wagon let me guess let me guess blows up for you blows up blowing regular 1.00

01:24:43.360 shit isn't that interesting oh my god so then i'm like i'm like the people are like you must 0.98

01:24:48.400 love your job i'm like okay dude let me think about this for a second i love lambos i love fast 0.96

01:24:52.160 stuff i'm like a car guy that loves cool fast stuff but it doesn't pay me because nobody want to watch

01:24:56.720 one wants to watch me so then i'm like okay if i do boring stuff they'll watch me which means only

01:25:02.160 one of us can be interesting if i have an interesting car and an interesting guy there's too much interesting

01:25:07.040 going on and we're competing against each other that's what i'm thinking there's no other kind of

01:25:10.640 the car is like your co-host and you're the host and you're the interesting part of the equation

01:25:15.840 talking about the boring thing exactly trying to make the boring interesting that's really what i'm

01:25:20.080 doing you know it's such a weird dynamic is it is it ever possible to have a more interesting car than

01:25:25.280 you like it would have to be a wild car it has to be wild thanks for the compliment but i don't know

01:25:32.720 you know what man i i think i think to be honest dude it's like it's it's just like man we got one life

01:25:38.080 bro and honestly like i just i love this space i love what i'm doing yeah do me man i think the

01:25:43.280 cars definitely are a passion there is there is definitely some boring cars man when i get like

01:25:47.040 we have this week we have this g-wagon and we have this kia um or sorry hyundai um oh yeah kona

01:25:54.160 we got a kona i keep forgetting i'm always like confused i'm like is it kia kona i'm like kia kona

01:25:58.320 just sounds way more off the tongue than hyundai kona you know out of out of all of the cars that you've

01:26:03.200 driven because it sounds like a lot of them are like mainstream kind of like consumer consumable

01:26:07.840 sort of vehicles for sure is there anything like any brand any lineup any any specific uh like sweet

01:26:14.880 spot in cars that you've come across you're like this is a really good car for the money it's actually

01:26:20.960 interesting it's fun to drive the infotainment works like is there a brand or a sweet spot in any

01:26:25.600 brand or lineup or car that you're like oh shit this is going to be good yeah i mean i really as a car 0.52

01:26:31.840 not like as a video that people are going to watch but as a vehicle you're like this is like right 0.96

01:26:35.760 here oh my god this is a really great way to blow up these comments by the way people are going to

01:26:41.280 be like this guy like this you know um i used to really like the hyundai veloster you know what's

01:26:47.120 crazy it's it's it's cheap it's light sort of it's it handles really well that's the three-door one

01:26:54.080 right that's right yeah hyundai is really overcomp like obviously like it's one of these things like

01:26:58.960 obviously you can throw this up in the air and say like what type of people buy certain cars and

01:27:02.560 you can be like is it male is it female and a hyundai hyundai veloster is maybe a little bit

01:27:06.960 more skewed female i think than it is male if i have to kind of pick it yeah um but i'd say like 1.00

01:27:11.920 from a car perspective they've done a lot of time they've spent a lot of time to make this thing

01:27:15.120 handle very track you know focused um and it's a great it's a great car turnkey great car i mean

01:27:20.640 obviously like listen man this g-wagon behind me is 325 000 it's a lot of money for a box that goes down

01:27:25.360 the street it's a shit ton of attention if you had that kind of money to dump on a car have fun

01:27:30.240 with it and it gets attention if that's that's the deal for sure there's some tax write-off purposes

01:27:33.360 when you get something that's over this thing weighs like seven thousand pounds it's it's it's

01:27:36.560 heavy so you can get the tax code up in the us so there's there's some basis to what things do

01:27:41.200 but i think turnkey and get exciting the best way to answer this dude is three cars if you want the

01:27:46.480 best car it's three cars you need a truck you need a four-door center that hauls ass you need a sports car

01:27:51.440 that's it that's the best the best car because there's no there's nothing like that exists

01:27:55.520 because you can't exist it it's like is there one in each category that that you would highlight

01:28:00.960 yeah i mean i personally like i mean i do an incredible product but i do like the i like the

01:28:04.720 ram i mean obviously the raptor r is pretty badass but if we're talking about daily driver that anybody

01:28:08.560 can kind of afford because nothing really affordable anymore yeah so let's do that so let's do trucks

01:28:11.920 the truck is ram yeah i do like the ram yeah if i'm talking about a car uh suv oh tough one man tough one

01:28:18.560 the porsches are really good but i probably get the g-wagon because honestly gets so much attention

01:28:21.840 doesn't handle the greatest but it gets attention and i think being unique and handling attention

01:28:25.280 is really really important yeah so either g-wagon or even like the macan gts is it rips the macan gts

01:28:32.160 is dope uh the you know what i will say the range if i had to point out something at the range rover

01:28:37.600 um so the hybrid range rover the hybrid it gives you a really good range like the the range rover is now

01:28:44.400 a bmw basically they've got the twin yeah yeah exactly exactly it's indian right tata so yeah

01:28:50.080 it gives you a really good range so when you want to buy a car that gets you from a to b and you don't

01:28:53.360 want to use the gas engine the range rover has really good range they put a plug-in hybrid now

01:28:57.200 yeah so what happens is what i what i find that all these guys that are putting all these plug-in

01:29:00.560 hybrid they put this really tiny small freaking lithium battery or basically a really small battery

01:29:05.280 that only gives you like 10 to 40 kilometers like what the hell is that going to do man you want a

01:29:08.800 battery along with a powerful engine that gives you like 100k like that makes that makes sense or in

01:29:13.760 terms of miles 60 miles 40 miles 50 miles don't give me like 20 miles like it's useless right

01:29:18.480 because then i'm plugging it again what's the range on that range rover uh like a thousand

01:29:23.360 kilometers i think oh like in total yeah um it depends on how your foot is dude like we don't drive

01:29:29.360 we don't drive light footage yeah i was doing my buddy i'm like why why do they even have a button

01:29:33.760 so i have these i have these three these jet skis they're 300 um and i have a whole bunch of atvs that

01:29:38.000 are i have a leader atv and i got an 850 or an 850 i got a 570 i'm a big i'm a big

01:29:43.840 engine power kind of guy which is why everybody laughed at me when i drive a tesla but i always

01:29:47.600 joke i'm like why do they even have the sports mode like it should come default why do these

01:29:53.200 why do all these like you know all these like power sport machines have a sport mode you should

01:29:58.480 only be able to adjust your suspension on a car you should not on your steering but you should never

01:30:02.480 be able to adjust how much power the car gives you why right so like it's crazy so now moving and

01:30:07.520 moving to the truck you got truck you got suv and car and car 911 man all day long come on

01:30:12.720 it's not even a question really 911 eh yeah which one in the lineup because there's so many cars

01:30:16.800 in the lineup there's carrera yeah or forest gts turbo turbo s gt3 gt3 rs gt2 i know i know i

01:30:24.480 know no i just get i do that just do what you do man i get all day i mean which one the turbo s

01:30:28.960 you just get it yeah you just get it and press the button you can tune it if you want it's a

01:30:32.400 daily driver you can drive in the winter you can drive in the summer it's great sound system

01:30:35.280 it looks cool it's fast it's decent on fuel you can fit people in it i mean not a lot of

01:30:38.880 people but you can fit people now if you have to um if you get an accident you're safe resale value

01:30:44.000 strong you have a great you know you have a great dealer network you can always run into another

01:30:47.680 porsche owner that's an entrepreneur i mean like there's just no better all-around car than an

01:30:51.280 911 there's just there's no better car you can get these one-off things like what i'm seeing you know

01:30:55.440 you get the tesla the one-off you can i mean there's not many not many dummies that will buy a plaid to

01:30:59.840 be honest there's just not that many guys will buy a plaid if you give people i mean you can buy a 911 turbo s

01:31:04.000 or you can buy a plaid i mean the turbo s is more money than the plaid obviously the plaid came in

01:31:07.920 at about 180 plus taxes and the turbo s is like 250 so it's more dollars but or 220 depending on where

01:31:12.880 you know what you get it from keep going when you start yeah mine was three yeah yeah do you want

01:31:17.920 crested headdress yeah like how about nozzles on your tires what color do you want them in do you want

01:31:23.040 your brakes no they get you to those they get you baby yeah they're the greatest sales people on the

01:31:27.520 planet are porsche people that you know that design how to sell you a porsche i mean they're geniuses

01:31:31.680 yeah and the owners are fanatics too man they're fastidious about the brand yes man yes they are

01:31:36.560 they are very very what's the what's the ownership like you're a petrol head so what is the ownership

01:31:41.440 experience in a tesla like for you right like i've never owned an electric car i know that we're

01:31:46.800 probably going to have to have one at some point i know they get great economy like three four times 0.89

01:31:51.360 better than a gas-powered car i know that the maintenance is lower you don't have to change uh

01:31:56.160 radiator fluid engine oil clutch services like any of these things and the brakes probably last

01:32:02.480 a lot longer because of the regenerative braking so you just said terrible was the first thing you

01:32:06.960 said is yeah okay go yeah terrible like um if you expect any sort of luxury experience or luxury care

01:32:13.760 um you'd get more care if you bought a cavalier or like a neon or a used one really yeah man it's

01:32:19.920 terrible it's terrible they don't wash the car so they don't have the service to wash the car they

01:32:22.720 can't wash your car for you so it's dirty when i pick it up when i drop it off uh when they when

01:32:26.480 i when i went to pick up the car everything is done online so i i was like i want to put 100k down so i

01:32:31.600 went in the system and i put 100k and i went to go pick up the car because you don't know when you're

01:32:35.360 picking it up because they won't tell you they'll tell you like three days before you have no idea

01:32:38.800 you're kind of in limbo where this car is this is supposed to be a 2022 but only two cars were released

01:32:44.000 as a 2021 and this was one of them even though they came out like a week before the rest of the cars

01:32:48.160 and they wouldn't tell me and i said i want this car to be a 22 because i'm picking this car up and at the end of

01:32:52.080 august september and i'm just going to switch the view so people can see the car in your background

01:32:55.600 over there for a second yeah for sure yeah um so yeah um so that was like my experience the car came

01:33:01.040 full of scratches there was door panel gaps i made a video on i made like a basically like a 40 minute

01:33:05.040 video of all the bs that i had to deal with enduring buying this car um but unfortunately it's just like

01:33:12.320 car guy in me is like you hit the gas the reaction videos i get out of this car are unreal i mean the 0.69

01:33:16.640 car rips like crazy but from a service perspective the car totally sucks man it's

01:33:21.520 it's it's a terrible the car itself is not quality the door panels are not good the build quality is 0.98

01:33:28.640 crap the the the the like when i touch the fenders there's no insulation on the other side of it

01:33:35.600 the brakes are beyond horrific this car does not break whatsoever it is a death trap the brakes in this 0.99

01:33:41.440 are terrible i can't even tell you dude they're so bad that i have to i my anticipation of braking

01:33:47.760 has to be on point every time otherwise the car will not break in order um the only way you can get

01:33:52.320 it is so this car tops out at 278 kilometers an hour in the in if you spend twenty thousand dollars

01:33:57.920 and get the upgrade brake package then they will unlimit the speed the speeder to get to 344 kilometers

01:34:04.480 an hour the suspension is not built to do 344 kilometers an hour and there's no way in hell that

01:34:09.200 the brakes can hold up in this space even at 278 i mean even with the upgraded brake package

01:34:14.880 well i don't have that it's 20k i'm just okay i'm a cheap ass in that case that's because for 20k 0.67

01:34:18.640 it's just not worth it for me there's no there's no possible reason why anybody needs to break from

01:34:22.720 278 to 200 really fast and of course you do rallies but at that point i just keep my distance a little

01:34:27.840 bit and yeah man the braking is just horrific it's a very very scary place to be in this cargo it's a

01:34:32.480 heavy car and things like to keep doing what they're already doing so to slow down a heavy car needs a

01:34:36.480 lot like a lot of brake yeah the brakes are just not good i changed the brake i did a bunch of mods

01:34:40.640 to it to try to tighten the brakes up but yeah you spend a lot of money on the car um what is great

01:34:44.640 about it though man is it's comfortable the seats are good you have obviously you have all the tech

01:34:48.960 it's unique because you have the you know you have the yoke steering wheel so it looks like a little

01:34:52.080 bit like a formula one steering wheel it's not a round steering wheel it's a wake right um you're

01:34:55.920 you're always you're always connected so everything everything kind of goes to the car it's very easy to

01:34:59.600 start i can here's the cool part about it is that when i when i want to charge up if i know i need power

01:35:04.320 when i'm going to a place i know exactly where i'm stopping and i know when i show up there how many

01:35:09.280 plugins are ready for me and i know how much i can do to my next destination so it pre-programs

01:35:14.000 certain things so i'm not guessing if i get into the g-wagon i got to drive to toronto and i'm leaving

01:35:17.840 right now it's it's this time the g-wagon doesn't tell me when to get there when to leave it doesn't

01:35:21.920 tell me what gas i have right now but this tesla will it'll say leave right now so i get in the car

01:35:25.680 it'll tell me exactly where i have to stop it's going to make sure that i have a spot for me when i arrive

01:35:29.520 i plug it in and i can oh it'll reserve a charging spot yeah this one will yeah so that's interesting

01:35:34.800 it is man it's it's when you spend the big dollars you get kind of that that little interface piece

01:35:38.800 but it's it's just the car rips like if the car didn't rip i'd be like what a waste of money and

01:35:44.080 i i mean you can ask ian who's my film partner i hate the way this car looks i mean it's not a

01:35:49.760 sexy vehicle at all it's the only good looking tesla though like if you look at the tesla lineup 0.85

01:35:53.840 the rest of their cars look like ass like they're not good looking cars so it's so ugly it's the s is 0.95

01:36:00.080 the only good looking car in the lineup in my opinion dude man it's so ugly you know sometimes 0.94

01:36:05.120 i feel like i sometimes i feel when i have this thing i'm like i'm like i'm trying to justify what

01:36:09.200 it is i'm like they'd be like oh nice tesla they're like they're like oh i went for a ride in my

01:36:13.120 friend's tesla and it's fast and then i'm like sitting here i'm like okay do i even try to waste my

01:36:17.200 time kind of like yeah and i'm like well i got the best of the world like i'm a cool guy like do i even

01:36:22.640 waste i don't even bother like why even you know so then i'm like that's it's hard man because like

01:36:27.440 i am a realist i think like a realist i'm like i don't like the i don't mind the chauvinistic stuff

01:36:32.480 because i understand how it works coming from dubai and i understand how it works here and i

01:36:35.760 understand how eyeballs want to see materialistic items they want to see this like they want to see

01:36:40.800 the cigar they want to see the g-wagon they want to see the big house but when they want to see all

01:36:44.480 that stuff i get it and i i mean that's what we kind of that's that's that's way better to look at

01:36:49.600 than being a loser like there's no doubt right so that's what you want to look at and be

01:36:53.520 but at the same time i don't want to i don't want to eliminate or how do i say isolate myself from

01:36:58.720 people that maybe can't afford it or people that that just want to be like real humans and have

01:37:02.480 proper conversations and stuff like that right so there we are being placed in silos on the internet 0.94

01:37:07.760 and social media to be like who are we are we all about the materialistic shit and looking good 0.92

01:37:12.160 and all this shell on the outside or do we have some depth inside us right so i think that when all 0.91

01:37:17.520 this stuff is standard around me all i only focus on is myself inside and putting what i have out

01:37:21.760 there uh and helping people and and just and helping myself man because i learned like when people when

01:37:26.320 i'm helping somebody they're helping me back it's not like i'm just helping them and there's nothing

01:37:29.200 for me you know it's like i grow as well internally when i want to try to share that stuff but but yeah my

01:37:34.320 metrics metric on youtube dude i mean i get we're like 40 us we're like 20 canadian we're like all i

01:37:40.640 mean there's like a list of like 140 countries or whatever that i watch our stuff like i mean i have

01:37:45.680 countries that i'm like this is crazy i can't believe i have that and and the attention that i

01:37:49.520 get is amazing man to be honest like places i go people recognize me and i'm not like a celebrity

01:37:54.880 by any means but if you're a car person you've definitely watched my videos some of them at

01:37:58.640 some point like i mean you know i think we have like 30 million views in total on youtube in two and

01:38:02.800 a half years almost three years now so that's a big number so 10 million views you know in total

01:38:07.440 over this course of the time per year is a big number so when i go places so i went to when i was

01:38:11.280 checking into immigration in panama um i come up the guy's like he's like you look familiar

01:38:16.160 youtube and i'm like yeah and he wants to take selfies with me so i've been i've been you know

01:38:19.680 like and you get and you get dude you get that for sure you get that right so i got a funny story

01:38:24.000 to tell you when you're okay so so it's like it's like okay so i'm always trying to use this as

01:38:30.160 leverage to help me and help them so i'm like hey what kind of car you're looking for if you're

01:38:34.160 looking for a car reach out to me anytime so i'm like i'm open and in exchange i'm like hey selfie

01:38:38.880 next time i'm at the border you know me i know you not like i'm bringing in but it's like hey

01:38:43.120 we know each other that's cool right i know somebody now i can name drop if i have to i'm

01:38:46.800 not a name dropper but it is important at some point in your life to name drop for certain things

01:38:50.240 i mean it's just part of business and part of growing as men and growing in society right so

01:38:54.560 sorry go ahead with your um yeah so i was um i was coming from i was coming back from a rally a

01:38:59.680 couple years ago and that's when i had the 720 and i was on the 407 right and you know there's a cop

01:39:04.800 marked on ways and i heard on the radios there's a cop here at this intersection so

01:39:07.840 i slow down to the speed limit like you know i just put on cruise control 102 kilometers an hour

01:39:12.000 so of course you know the cop's there and he you know he pulls up beside me and he's looking at the

01:39:15.920 car and he's looking at my check and he's looking at the car and he pulls up four he slows down he

01:39:20.000 looks at the car and then of course he comes behind me and he turns on the cherries right yeah so i'm

01:39:23.520 like all right what does this guy want so i have my cell phone and i just you know make a video and i

01:39:29.280 put it on my lap and you know the guy walks up to the car and um you know he goes hey you know can

01:39:34.880 you roll up your window and then he uh because it came on the passenger side because it was on

01:39:38.880 the highway so i rolled up my window so the traffic wasn't bothering him and and he looks in the car

01:39:43.280 and he looks at me he goes and he was foreign right it must have been like uh slovakian or something

01:39:48.560 maybe you know from eastern europe and he goes oh you're the youtube's guy right and i'm like yeah yeah

01:39:55.120 cool cool all right he goes uh yeah i just wanted to you know check out the car he goes you know is

01:39:58.880 your front plate on i'm like yeah the front plate's on you everything's there he goes okay okay be safe thank

01:40:03.600 you it's like you know it's just a funny video to to make right so it's like you know you get a

01:40:07.680 couple of these entertained you know like these entertaining moments yeah what i always find that's

01:40:12.960 really really interesting though is is everybody that i've met is always so friendly and kind and

01:40:17.680 it's like you know here look i got a super chat here on the screen it's like standard like you know

01:40:21.360 i read your book did the work turn turn around my entire life keep it up you're invaluable to us young

01:40:25.680 guys bubble like that's the sort of stuff that i get right i know i know i never get the haters though

01:40:30.720 i never get those those those those haters that are like you know they send you the nasty emails 0.98

01:40:35.920 or they're in the comments they say your mouth looks like a cat's asshole or some 1.00

01:40:38.880 shit like that because you trim your beard wrong those cowards never show they never say anything 1.00

01:40:43.040 to you dude no no no no they don't they don't they don't they don't uh it's hard man you know what 1.00

01:40:47.200 dude like i mean at the end of the day we're here to just be better right we're here to give love

01:40:50.880 and be better and just trying to make other people better if we're not doing better then i totally get

01:40:54.320 the hate and that's not what we do so yeah a funny story about the cops though i did the same

01:40:58.720 had the same thing i i mean i the great thing about my folks is they understand that i drive

01:41:03.200 like a maniac i just always have i always feel like if you drive faster than everybody else then you're

01:41:07.040 you're more alert if you roll back and you're sitting you're coasting well you're less alert

01:41:10.720 and you're being distracted so for me it's about like just being assertive and aggressive most of

01:41:14.160 the time as opposed to being like just defensive right so i'm driving so anyways i get i was driving

01:41:18.640 and i pulled over because there's so much traffic so i just kind of coasted a little bit and i just

01:41:21.440 flipped my phone out i was on my phone and of course because you're sitting bumper to bumper and

01:41:24.240 nowadays the technology these cars are so amazing you press two buttons press one button really and the car does its

01:41:28.160 own thing you don't you can just you can close your eyes and fall asleep so i was on my phone and i

01:41:32.640 was in this i won't tell your car but i'm a pretty fancy car and uh next to me this cruiser comes he

01:41:36.880 sees me and then he's he sees me on my phone and he sees my mom and then and we meet my mom both look

01:41:41.360 right and we're like okay this and then i look back and i drop my phone like you know because you're

01:41:45.760 holding the same position i just dropped the phone and i kind of like continue and he pulls me over

01:41:50.080 um and the important part about this man is that when you get pulled over by the cops

01:41:53.280 the important part is really they're important as much as you're important so don't always think about

01:41:57.280 you so the first thing that i tell everybody is something that i learned in the car business is

01:42:01.840 that german cars have the gas cap on the right side for a reason they're not the same size as the

01:42:06.640 driver because when you are filling gas when you pull over you don't be filling gas the same side

01:42:11.200 the trucks are coming and that's the exact same concept with this police officer he pulled me over

01:42:15.120 and on the 401 so which is one of our major highways here in canada he pulls me over and he

01:42:19.040 walks on the same side as all the trucks are coming and i the first thing i told him i said you're

01:42:22.880 not safe standing there do you want to come talk to me on the passenger side and he's like huh i said

01:42:27.280 you're not safe standing there do you want to move over to the passenger side and he's like oh and he

01:42:31.600 walked over and he put that down he said and he looked he's like that was the first time anybody's

01:42:35.200 ever cared about my safety so what do you think happens next obviously there's no point in the

01:42:40.240 story but you know the deal so i drive away whatever everything's good right so i think it's just about

01:42:44.960 always kind of giving back and kind of understanding what what people's positions are and not thinking about

01:42:49.280 yourself you know so that's what that's really what part of this like i back to the idu thing

01:42:53.520 quickly the idu thing of me coaching all these guys is i have i have some real superstars under 23

01:43:00.000 and now my brain is like okay i was in a position when i came to canada at 17 where i had no friends

01:43:05.040 and i was like i was like put in whatever groups that would just accept me just to stand around

01:43:08.800 nobody cared about my story nobody nobody cared about anybody's story in these groups you know so

01:43:12.720 i felt and it's not about like the immigrant struggle no it's not about that it's just about it's just

01:43:17.200 about affecting and maybe changing what society doesn't offer it so for me because i have winners

01:43:21.600 between 21 20 years old summer 19 but 20 years old and 24 years old i and i've spoken at high

01:43:27.600 schools before just in classes nothing big i thought you know what man i want to put something on i want

01:43:31.680 to be able to put on a situation where i can rent an auditorium and there is one now that i'm going to

01:43:36.080 get that fits 980 people and i want to fill it with kids between 14 and 17 and i want to bring up

01:43:42.000 these kids that are 20 and 20 to 24 on that's part of my little team here and i want to explain to

01:43:47.040 these kids man there is a life there is a path for you it's not like you only like because when i was

01:43:51.360 growing up it was just like science or arts they're like these are two choices and i'm like but that

01:43:55.600 doesn't fit anything about me and i know that the world is more open now in terms of what they educate

01:43:59.600 kids with but there's nothing to train young kids that see other kids that are just a little bit

01:44:05.360 older than them winning and these kids will share their path so now in terms of like what i want to bring

01:44:10.000 up that makes me fulfilled like crazy is to know that i'm making these i'm giving these 21 21 to 24

01:44:16.800 old year old men a platform that they can actually inspire younger kids to actually be better themselves

01:44:22.080 so i just want to be a curator of stuff right so that's part of my little thing so that's a real big

01:44:26.960 big win for me and i'm hoping to do it sometime in 2024 the other part of it is part of doing all

01:44:31.760 this stuff now so there's a there's there's a there's some levels to this game here so remember

01:44:35.840 we're talking about the columbia and the house tours and and me doing my land so i got the six acres

01:44:39.680 and i'm and i've kind of walked everything really far down so i've spent 40k to get the architects

01:44:44.480 to design every single piece of this land you know all the cabins that i'm doing like the you know

01:44:48.880 like the wedding event center and because there's an event center there event center all the other

01:44:52.640 cabins the walk is this kind of a compound that you're building um well it's it's what i do man is

01:44:58.480 i don't commit to building it i commit to what it's going to look like and give me all the options i need

01:45:03.280 information and then i will make a decision the other part of it is hey what if i sever all these

01:45:07.520 lots and i sell all the lots to high-end homes what happens if i take this and i just build cool

01:45:11.360 tree houses that are that that have like a lower cost of entry for these people not just luxury

01:45:15.600 cabins so do i build these luxury cabins go find half the money i got half the money you know i mean

01:45:19.920 it's a pretty big number to build all these three houses are to airbnb and sort of rent out yeah and

01:45:24.320 same with these luxury cabins they'd be airbnb and then do i build a mastermind house instead so do

01:45:28.160 all these things going in my mind so what i do with with this education thing that i have is i take

01:45:32.720 these guys from canada which is part of like my little circle that i have here and i take guys

01:45:36.480 and i'm like hey come to columbia to make them build and work and understand their themselves

01:45:42.240 but at the same time i'm using humans for my network there when they when i show up there and

01:45:47.840 i take these 10 to 10 dudes every three months and i take them and i show them to you know to

01:45:52.640 get to builders and i'm bringing them to guys that are invested i bring them to my contact there

01:45:56.720 those contacts are looking at me and saying oh my god this guy's crazy every three months he's

01:46:00.000 bringing 10 guys to us that is a pretty big number to bring from a foreigner coming in that's

01:46:05.120 dedicated to your country so now my my credibility and my strength improves from those individuals

01:46:10.720 that look at me saying hey this guy's making a difference to us because giving giving us exposure

01:46:15.120 he's making sure that we're in the right path he's bringing us different perspectives because he's got

01:46:18.160 10 different perspectives and i bring quality dudes with me to these countries also at the same time

01:46:23.600 when i'm going there i get experience i so i have a full-time girl that works for me in columbia

01:46:28.160 and she coordinates and she mastered she master plans everything so now i'm spending money with a with a limo and i

01:46:34.000 you know the guys arrive we get in the limo now i'm spending money to have the same consistent limo

01:46:37.760 i have the same i have the same houses that i that i use the same guys that we have full security i have

01:46:42.560 everything all lined up because now i have a business of a tourism game right so now i'm taking

01:46:46.560 people there in conjunction i've spent money so i know how banking works i have all the contacts on

01:46:51.760 what to buy i know how to because i'm doing my stuff on my own land i'm taking all that content and

01:46:56.320 all that experience and i'm coaching guys in that space so right now where i stand today is i'm in

01:47:01.680 a position and i've spent two and a half years of my life kind of understanding how columbia works

01:47:05.760 i'm in a position where if somebody wants to move from north america to columbia and knows nothing

01:47:10.160 about it no matter what level they're at i want to be an investor i don't want to invest into columbia

01:47:14.080 i want to be a guy to move to columbia with my family i have those people understood and i'm not

01:47:20.640 a columbian sitting in columbia i'm not an american sitting in columbia i'm a canadian sitting in canada

01:47:26.080 which means you have direct access to me on everything i have here so you know that i'm not full of 0.97

01:47:30.160 not full of shit you're not that i'm sitting there trying to sell you something i can give 0.99

01:47:34.160 two shits if you buy anything or not it doesn't matter to me i just want to educate you and the 1.00

01:47:37.680 main reason behind that is because now i build my network and i build people that are loyal to me 0.99

01:47:42.320 because i've helped them i will never work is your net worth you know we've said this many times

01:47:47.440 um you know i've got kind of like my little spiel but okay i've got a podcast that i got to hop

01:47:51.520 on i'm sorry sorry i'm being interviewed so yeah i want to take five minutes and wrap up real

01:47:56.480 quick with one last question so mike uh roofer youtuber uh car investor car guy rally guy columbia

01:48:05.680 guy just got a lot of going on um look him up on instagram via his name and follow him there and

01:48:12.960 follow his youtube channel it's got the canadian flag next to it yeah last question for you before

01:48:16.480 we go i got less than five minutes to do this there's a chapter in my book where i talk about

01:48:20.000 how every man at some point should own a motorcycle in his life you just bought a bmw r1000 rr i was

01:48:26.640 actually looking at that bike earlier this year i was thinking oh man i miss bikes i want to get

01:48:29.760 another one i'm also looking at v-rod night rods i don't know where i'm going to get what where i'm

01:48:33.680 going to store it i just miss bikes does that resonate with you do you think a man should own 0.97

01:48:38.800 a motorcycle at some point in his life yes or no and you know explain why yeah i think i think if you

01:48:44.800 can sit on the toilet and think because most men do think on the toilet so let's sit on the toilet and 1.00

01:48:48.480 they'll think imagine that same experience but doing it on a motorcycle where nobody can say

01:48:52.560 anything to you and just viscerally your body that's even the proper word to say but your body

01:48:58.400 does something that you can't control when you have that acceleration pulling you back all the time and

01:49:03.040 you are in full control yes a hundred percent and that that that dose of danger it just it's a whole

01:49:10.800 different game you feel in control there's nothing that you can also the other part of it is cost

01:49:16.240 right to get into the cost of motorcycles a lot cheaper now this bmw is fairly expensive from from

01:49:20.320 a bike perspective but you can get any cheap bike to get in the problem is that you still have to

01:49:24.640 have maturity before you get behind the wheel so even though you're you're behind the bike and every

01:49:28.560 man should have a bike for sure there still needs to be some level of maturity because you are your

01:49:33.360 life and death is right here and that's really how you should run your life right you should run your

01:49:36.480 life almost a life and death you should always be in like a mature controlled environment in your

01:49:41.440 mind like your whole space has to be mature but you have to take risks and you have to do it from

01:49:46.000 a cost effective standpoint and that's what motorcycles do they put you in a cost effective

01:49:49.680 space where you can get that you know the adrenaline the acceleration the cost of fuel maybe insurance

01:49:55.360 is a little bit of a different factor but it'll give you it and also makes you somewhat cool i mean

01:49:59.200 you have all those pieces by getting a motorcycle it'll automatically give you that coolness you don't

01:50:03.120 have to go shop for the perfect shirt you can just get on a motorcycle and you automatically feel

01:50:07.040 cooler it's the dumbest thing but it's not how how we feel how i've always personally felt you know

01:50:11.680 yeah i agree and and the other thing about motorcycles man is it puts you in a community 0.88

01:50:15.280 that's smaller with risk takers it's crazy to say people that are generally on motorcycles now i will

01:50:21.600 say obviously you get on on more of a comfort a luxury a harley it's still a community for sure

01:50:26.320 maybe a little bit less risk taking but nothing feels like open air life it's like the convertible

01:50:32.240 vibe right it's a girl it makes you feel like makes you feel committed to it so so the so i'll

01:50:36.720 quickly just end this with with this is that when i knew my son was being born i said i'm done i'm not

01:50:41.840 driving a motorcycle it's too dangerous i'm worth too much money i'm too valuable to lose off this

01:50:46.160 planet and i do not want to hurt this body now my son is 12 he's an adult i coached him the best way i

01:50:51.440 could as a man but also understanding how to be humble how to care but always be driven but for me

01:50:58.400 right now i feel like man i'm at this pace in my in my life where i still want that adrenaline i do have

01:51:03.760 fast cars i do have great other experiences around me but i feel like a motorcycle just is like one

01:51:09.200 little tick on my mind where i feel like i was always into bikes and now i'm bringing it back so

01:51:14.320 call it what you want midlife crisis call it like hey you've got the freedom to do it but when i felt

01:51:18.240 like when i was married i just felt like i just didn't need to do it but now i'm like i'm super

01:51:22.240 grateful that my ex left me i'm like yes she left me i'm free to do what i want i still had freedom

01:51:27.440 but now it's like my own controlled freedom right it's like that comforting food that i'm by

01:51:31.440 myself and i'm my own man and i feel like man there's nothing more in the world you only know

01:51:36.640 when you know when you you know when you put your leg over that machine and strap on the helmet you

01:51:40.320 twist and throttle with your right hand you know those that know no they just think it's too dangerous

01:51:45.840 and it's a wrong recommendation mike thanks so much for joining me i'm gonna end the stream guys

01:51:51.200 leave a comment below do the thing all the good stuff follow his channel blah blah blah we'll see you guys

01:51:55.040 soon peace out
