00:03:48.240 quote-unquote mental toughness book that exists, all of them, because I'm interested in it. I've
00:03:56.180 always just been super interested in that idea. Like, how do you develop mental toughness? And
00:04:03.960 there's some great books out there, dude. The book Relentless by Tim Grover, really good friend of
00:04:10.260 mine, which is crazy, because that book, I credit that book with actually saving my life,
00:04:16.260 and I've said that a million times, because it made me understand that I wasn't crazy in the way
00:04:21.440 that I thought, and I read that book before I ever met Tim, and now, I mean, he's one of my good
00:04:27.420 friends. I talk to him nearly every day, at least at a minimum, three times a week on a friend
00:04:34.740 relationship, and he's a real friend, dude, not one of these bullshit friends. Like, he's a friend
00:04:40.100 that holds you accountable, and like, he could tell when I'm off my game, and he'll fucking tell me,

00:06:10.660 but I've, I've been thinking like, I've been thinking for so long about what could we give people?
00:06:20.560 How could we help people develop this skill? Okay. Because it is a skill, mental toughness,
00:06:28.280 grittiness, fortitude, perseverance, all these things that people observe and high performing
00:06:36.040 people are skills and people have been taught that they are character traits that people either have
00:06:43.800 or don't have. And we are taught that by people who are lesser achieving people. So it's not a shock
00:06:51.700 that we're, we're taught that by our parents, our teachers, society, everybody kind of looks at these
00:06:56.760 people as an anomaly. And I know just from my experience on this earth, that that's not true
00:07:03.100 because I was not always the way that I am. I used to be someone who punked out. I used to be
00:07:09.720 someone who quit. I used to be someone who couldn't finish things. I used to be someone
00:07:15.600 who made excuses and I've had to work really, really hard in my life to squash that inner voice.
00:07:23.000 And when James was talking, the video I posted yesterday, um, about James talking about owning
00:07:30.560 the mental conversation with yourself. I've always known that that was the key, but to hear someone
00:07:37.240 else say it like that, who has done something to the extreme that he has done one of the greatest
00:07:44.980 human performance feats ever that will probably never be matched. Okay. Ever. And certainly if it
00:07:53.340 ever is, it's going to be very rare. Um, to hear him say that it kind of made something click in my
00:08:02.440 brain and it clicked instantly. Like the whole puzzle that I've been thinking about for this
00:08:07.680 entire, you know, last 20 years about how to create this and dude, it came to me like literally
00:08:17.200 in an instant. And you know, it's just another example. It's not that it came to me an instant.
00:08:21.660 It's just that I've been thinking about it for 20 years and the final piece clicked for me on what
00:08:26.560 needs to happen. And so I start, you know, when he, when we talk in the video, I stop him and I say,
00:08:33.020 well, you said something powerful and you said intentionally put yourself in places that are
00:08:41.080 uncomfortable. And that's something that I've always done without really understanding why I did it.

00:09:11.860 that I have to be at 10% body fat or less by May 18th, um, or 19th, one of those days.
00:09:20.160 I've already been working on that goal and making great progress. That would happen to be 75
00:09:24.740 fucking days. All right. So I thought, all right, well, I'm locking in for these next 75 days.
00:09:32.920 How can I help people understand what we always say about high performing people? They have confidence.
00:09:42.920 They have self-esteem. They have self-worth. They have self-belief. They have grit. They have fortitude.
00:09:50.220 They have perseverance. They have the ability to endure. They have resilience, but all of those
00:09:57.440 things are things that are cultivated through pushing yourself past the point of what's comfortable.
00:10:05.240 And we as humans are so conditioned to do what's comfortable that it violates every internal
00:10:12.920 conversation that we could possibly have in our mind to actually do that. So I started thinking,
00:10:18.900 how can I help people believe that they can achieve these states of mental toughness and that
00:10:28.180 mental toughness can encompasses all those qualities I just said. Right? So when I refer to mental
00:10:35.700 toughness, that's what I'm talking about is all those qualities I just mentioned. How can I help
00:10:41.260 people cultivate mental toughness? Okay. Well, I can create a fucking program that will put people
00:10:50.060 through and help develop the skill. And if they complete it, if they do what they are told,
00:10:57.040 if they follow it without any compromise, not one excuse, not one, I was sick, not one,
00:11:06.420 the conditions weren't perfect, not one, I'll start tomorrow. And if you can squash all that in 75
00:11:14.740 fucking days, you will be a different fucking person guaranteed. Okay. And there, you know,
00:11:22.160 normally we put prizes on things like that. If you complete it, you get a, no, the fucking prize here
00:11:27.620 is all the qualities that you're going to develop. It's the unstoppable nature that you're going to
00:11:34.120 develop over the course of 75 days, which you will. And to me, 75 days is a very short amount of time

00:11:47.860 through life. I got an email this morning because I summarized and the guy said, you know, you really
00:11:54.580 focus on all these physical transformations and stuff, but you don't, you need a mental challenge.

00:12:05.500 laying out exactly what I laid out, no substitutions, no, I'll do this instead of that.

00:12:21.640 People are going to try to substitute it and they're going to try to say, well, I didn't get to work out
00:12:27.700 outdoors because it was raining. No motherfucker. You're supposed to work out outdoors in the rain

00:12:41.020 the conditions, the job has to get done. Okay. And so all these people out there that are hashtagging
00:12:47.420 this shit, I know what's going to happen. There's going to be about two motherfuckers that finish it.
00:12:53.080 I'm going to be one of them. Tyler said he's going to be one of them. I actually believe Tyler.

00:13:08.980 to think that they won, but they didn't fucking win because winning is the mental gain that you're
00:13:15.400 going to get out of this. Not the physical gain. It's the mental gain. It's who you're becoming.

00:13:26.980 cultivate these qualities that can then parlay into their success in all areas of life. It's how

00:13:37.700 Absolutely. So two things that come to my mind as you were talking. One is that not only will they
00:13:42.160 quit, uh, there will be those who do their own version of the 75 days. And when they're done,
00:13:48.440 they'll go, well, wait, why, why did I not get the results that Andy promised? He lied because you
00:13:56.200 didn't do what you were told to do. Zero compromise, right? This means zero compromise. This,
00:14:01.300 if you can't follow fucking simple fucking directions, then you need someone who's done
00:14:05.920 it, dude, you need to go back to fucking kindergarten. Right. Okay. This is very simple.
00:14:13.320 None of this is hard to understand. This is not about a physical transformation. Will you physically
00:14:19.300 transform? Yes, you will. Absolutely. You will. But this is not about that. This is about cultivating

00:14:43.380 mirror and you say, man, I wish I could do that. I wish I could have this. What does that guy have
00:14:48.420 that I don't have? This is the shit that I'm talking about. Okay. And so what I'm sharing with people
00:14:53.900 is I'm, I'm willing to put my fucking name and reputation on the line to do it with people,
00:15:00.560 to prove to them that all these other people out there that are saying, Oh, you should just feel
00:15:06.280 good. Oh, you should have self-esteem. If you tell yourself you're great, you feel great. I'm willing
00:15:12.220 to bet my entire fucking credibility to show them that all those people are full of shit. And this is
00:15:19.160 how it's done. Okay. So I went home and I said, all right, how can I develop all these skills?
00:15:23.900 And I created a little list of five simple tasks. And by the way, this is not your power list.
00:15:30.460 A lot of people are saying on the, Oh, complete the power list for 75 days. No motherfucker.
00:15:36.180 You're not reading the fucking directions and you're not listening. What I'm saying
00:15:39.640 has nothing to do with that. The power list is, uh, is something you should be doing on top of this.
00:15:45.740 Now, will you use the power list to accomplish these goals? Probably, but it's a completely different
00:15:52.360 concept. Okay. So it's all designed so that we can get people to cultivate these skills that are
00:16:03.420 under the umbrella of what I call mental toughness. So before you move on, I just wanted to, uh, kind
00:16:08.280 of highlight something you said earlier. You were saying that, um, the guy's like, well, why can't
00:16:12.060 this be a mental challenge? I would say, and you would agree that, well, then he goes, then he tells me,
00:16:16.360 then he, he, he, then he tells me after this. And if, and I know he's listening to this and I'm not
00:16:21.260 picking on him, but I'm pointing out how, how he's not understanding what the fuck this is about.
00:16:26.740 He says, well, you tell people to only read 10 pages. That's nothing for me. Yeah. But you know
00:16:32.080 what is something for you going out when it's fucking 20 fucking degrees outside and doing your
00:16:36.780 fucking workout. You know what is something for you following your meal without fucking cheating on
00:16:41.620 it? You know, it is something for you doing that for 75 fucking days in a row. Okay. So while certain
00:16:48.420 parts of this program might be easy for you and you might feel like you need to understand, you need
00:16:53.320 to substitute them for things that are harder. There are going to be other parts of this program
00:16:57.540 that are extremely difficult. And the point of that is that regardless of how hard certain parts of
00:17:05.140 the program is, the easy shit still got to get done too. This is not something I threw together on the
00:17:11.240 spot. I thought about this for the last 20 fucking years. Right. And I, and I, and what I love about
00:17:17.260 it is that, you know, what I was going to say is, is that if there, if there is a weakness in a lot of
00:17:22.580 the literature out there on mental toughness, it's that it doesn't give anybody a fucking program to
00:17:28.200 follow to show them how to do it. It's, it's, it's going to change your fucking world. A hundred
00:17:33.780 percent. It's such an emphasis on the mental that it becomes kind of abstract. People get caught up in
00:17:38.780 concepts and they sit there and go, well, these are great concepts, but what do I do? And you're
00:17:44.520 giving, this program is giving people something to do. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So let's talk about
00:17:49.480 that, about how simple it is. Okay. Cause I do want to hear how you came up with what are there?
00:17:53.380 Five or seven fucking things. Okay. Real, real simple. Okay. And this is where people get fucked up
00:18:00.020 is they, they can't execute simple things. All right. And then they have a conversation in their head
00:18:06.280 and then they substitute things and then they justify things. And then all of a sudden they're

00:19:11.120 a diet. All right. And I'm not going to dictate to you what diet that diet is going to be in line
00:19:17.700 with whatever goals you have. All right. My goal is to lose body fat. So my diet is going to be geared
00:19:23.280 around losing body fat. That means zero deviation, zero cheap meals, zero excuses, and no alcohol.
00:19:32.500 Okay. Not one cheap meal, not one fucking quote unquote refeed meal that you guys try to fucking
00:19:38.180 talk about. No deviation. All right. This is designed to cultivate extreme discipline. You know how hard it
00:19:49.680 is to even just do this one thing over 75 days. I bet not one motherfucker listening, not one has gone
00:19:57.560 75 fucking days without, without cheating on their diet, at least with a snack or a spoon of peanut
00:20:04.420 butter or a fucking handful of M&Ms or a handful of popcorn. I'm talking about nothing. I'm talking
00:20:11.620 about zero deviation. Okay. So that's the first thing. Yeah. Follow a fucking diet. Can I throw
00:20:18.200 something in there? Yeah. A little, little, little pastor disaster, spiritual reflection is that
00:20:22.400 what I think is brilliant about that is that people don't understand
00:20:26.480 your relationship with food is so fundamental to life. It's so, I mean, obviously you have to eat
00:20:33.860 to survive, but how you relate to food is so fundamental to life that it's even become like
00:20:38.020 the center of center of the Catholic churches. You get together, you have communion every, every week.
00:20:42.840 That's eating. You're literally, that's the focus of the worship is you're eating. You're, you're,
00:20:47.820 you're, you're having a family meal together. And I think it's brilliant that that's the first
00:20:51.940 thing you talk about because it's so foundational. You know what else it teaches you? What's that?
00:20:56.560 How to say no. Yeah. Yeah. And not apologize for it. Yeah. No, I can't. I'm focused on this goal.

00:21:43.320 this challenge is to cultivate the discipline so that you can go to the fucking party and not stuff

00:21:56.680 here, but that's exactly why I didn't go to a Super Bowl party this year. Hey. Is that I was like,
00:22:00.880 there's no way. I knew myself. I knew that if I went, I was going to cheat. Hey, I just flew my dad
00:22:07.380 to fucking Colorado. I paid for the entire fucking thing. It cost me a hundred grand to send them on
00:22:13.000 the trip because I flew them up there on a fucking legacy 650 jet and I put them in a fucking badass
00:22:18.560 house. They all went skiing and drank beer for four days. Guess who didn't fucking go? Me. You know
00:22:23.840 why I didn't go? Because I'm focused on a fucking goal. Dude, I love it. And I love how, I love how
00:22:28.700 foundational it is, how elemental and, and the reality is it goes back to everybody's looking for a
00:22:35.280 special complicated formula. So here's the thing. And you're bringing people back to the basics.
00:22:39.400 It's basic shit. Yeah. Discipline. And guess what? If you cheat on your diet,
00:22:44.480 you got to start over at day one. We're talking about finishing 75 days in a row. That goes for
00:22:51.300 all five of these points, by the way. If you fuck it up, you are to start over at day one. So realize
00:22:58.840 that if you get to day 22 and you have a handful of M&Ms, now you're starting over at day one.
00:23:03.580 Right. All right. Does that make sense? Yeah, absolutely. And it's an honor system,
00:23:07.680 but what people need to realize is that if they don't honor the system, they're cheating themselves.
00:23:11.840 You either want to, you either want to get great or you don't. Right. That's it. And is it about
00:23:15.780 looking better to other people or is it about actually doing the system and getting the
00:23:21.160 transformation? Half the motherfuckers, half the motherfuckers that say they're going to finish
00:23:23.460 on this are going to lie. Yeah. I already know that. This is, I don't care if people lie or not lie.
00:23:28.440 I am not going to be the police of who does what or doesn't do what, but I know what I'm doing and
00:23:34.260 I'm doing it for a purpose and I'm sharing what I'm doing for a purpose so that they can choose
00:23:39.800 to develop those skills or not. I've already developed all these skills in my life.

00:23:50.680 It's now I'm in control of decisions I make. All right. And I'm trying to get people to understand
00:23:55.040 that they aren't in control too. And that's what these points are. So follow a diet, zero cheap

00:24:07.040 the diet or the supplementation. This isn't about getting you to buy first form products. This is,
00:24:12.640 and they will help, but that's about as much as I'm going to plug it there. Okay. Um, two,
00:24:19.440 you're going to work out twice a day. And this is one point, not two. You're going to work out twice
00:24:26.160 a day for at least 45 minutes. Now, again, I don't care what kind of workout you do. I don't care if
00:24:33.060 you run. I don't care if you walk. I don't care if you lift weights. I don't care if you do CrossFit.
00:24:38.500 It doesn't matter because this is a mental toughness cultivator. Okay. This is not necessarily
00:24:48.340 about the physical activity. So it's twice a day for 45 minutes. One of those workouts will be
00:24:56.580 outdoors. Now you can run outdoors. You can do pushups outdoors. You could do sit-ups outdoors.
00:25:02.200 You could drag the motherfucking elliptical outside and do it outside. I don't care.
00:25:06.280 The point of doing it outdoors is very easy to understand. Conditions are not always going to be
00:25:13.620 perfect. Can't control them. You can't control the circumstances and it could be
00:25:18.120 fucking tornadoing outside or it could be 15 degrees outside like it was for me yesterday.
00:25:24.360 And guess what? You still got to fucking do it. Okay. What's that going to teach you? It's going
00:25:30.800 to teach you what, Vaughn? To control what you can control and not to make excuses about the
00:25:36.360 conditions that you can't control. That's right. And guess what has to happen? Jobs got to get done.
