00:00:00.000 Hey guys, what's up? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm your host, Andy Frisella,
00:00:21.100 and I am the motherfucking CEO. And I'm Vaughn the Impaler. You just fucked up my intro. Oh, 0.98
00:00:26.480 sorry. Since Vaughn fucked up my intro, I was going to do something really cool,
00:00:31.480 but since he fucked it up, I'll just let him take over. You're Vaughn the Impaler?
00:00:34.880 Well, evidently I am now. Tell everybody how much you impale.
00:00:38.060 Yeah, that could go the wrong direction. I'm here with my co-host Vaughn, the Impaler,
00:00:44.720 the pastor of disaster. Yes. What's up, dude? Don't edit any of that out either. I'm not going
00:00:52.460 to edit any out. No. I mean, I'm just floundering right now because you've just destroyed my
00:00:57.100 self-esteem because I had this great thing planned that we were going to talk about today and you
00:01:01.720 just completely shot it down five minutes before we did it. I'm trying to turn you into a little
00:01:07.760 bit more like Bob Ross. You remember that dude? Yeah. Yeah, with the afro. I bet you could have
00:01:13.440 an afro like that though. Dude, my hair is super curly when it comes out. I believe it. I believe
00:01:18.060 it. Okay. So since you got into the habit of shooting things down, I thought we would spend
00:01:22.080 a little time with you shooting things down tonight. Okay. Okay. Or I get, I don't know
00:01:25.880 why I said tonight. Because you're vibing up the fucking feel. It's Larry King live over 0.99
00:01:30.280 there, buddy. Yeah, exactly. Vaughn King. All right. What names we got for Vaughn? Vaughn
00:01:35.800 the Impaler. Vaughn King. The pastor of disaster. Vaughn Diesel. Vaughn Diesel. Jean-Claude
00:01:40.420 Vaughn Dom. That's bad. All right. All right. So do you believe in people making excuses
00:01:48.640 for themselves? Oh yeah, totally. Yeah, I figured you do. That's the vibe of this entire podcast.
00:01:54.080 So what I thought we'd do, and I really hope you go for this because I don't have any other
00:01:57.920 ideas right now, is I'm going to fire out five common excuses and I want you to tell me what
00:02:04.300 you think of each one of these excuses. Perfect. Okay. Number one. Sounds exactly like what I want
00:02:11.340 to do right now. Okay. Great. All right. So I'm, I'm, I'm meeting one-on-one with Andy. I'm going to
00:02:16.580 give you, do we have any more fucking excuses in society? I don't think we do. Let's, let's, 0.99
00:02:21.320 let's have some more or could. Yeah. I don't think we could. That's what I meant to say. Okay. So
00:02:25.980 these are going to be tough. I know you're going to have a hard time tearing these down. Okay. Okay. So
00:02:31.980 excuse number one for why someone is not successful. I'm not very smart. I don't get
00:02:41.560 straight A's at school. Are you being, are you being serious? Yeah, that's excuse number one.
00:02:46.860 That's an excuse. I'm just not very smart. Well, first of all, you must not be very smart because
00:02:51.720 that's the worst fucking excuse I've ever fucking heard. Let's be real here. You know, I went through 0.99
00:02:56.960 school being a C student maximum. If I got a fucking C dude, I was just happy as hell to get a 0.98
00:03:01.900 C. Yeah. You know, yeah. Um, you know, David Letterman gives out scholarships for C students. 0.99
00:03:10.320 Look, man, C is average. Yeah. It doesn't mean you're dumb. Yeah. That's how I look at it.
00:03:15.000 That's true. So you don't think book smarts translate into hell? No. People think this is one of those
00:03:21.780 excuses that people will cultivate and make themselves believe because society's standard
00:03:30.780 of what is smart is based upon some numerical grading system. You know, there is a lot of
00:03:37.800 things, dude, like I said, I got D's and C's and I'm far more successful than most of the people that
00:03:44.820 I know that I went to school with. You know, are there people better than me? Yeah, there are.
00:03:48.900 I'm not saying that to brag. I'm just saying that it's not, it's not a true reference point of,
00:03:55.580 you know, success, you know, people. And it's sad because, you know, you'll grow up and your
00:04:00.680 teachers will tell you that. And I've had people tell me this. I've even posted this on Instagram
00:04:04.080 before. I've had people tell me like, Hey, Andy, you're, you're a fucking C student. You know, 1.00
00:04:08.720 people like you don't go very far in life. And I had, I had a guidance counselor tell me that
00:04:12.560 right to my face. You know what I mean? And dude, I had enough, I had enough confidence at the
00:04:17.640 time, you know, to not like go bury my head in the sand and think that I was meant to like, 0.94
00:04:21.700 you know, work on a fucking factory line somewhere or do some mindless job. But the reality is, is 0.97
00:04:27.520 that, you know, society is geared towards creating worker bees. They make people think that if they
00:04:34.260 don't get fucking A's, they're not going to be successful. And the reality is what is an A an A 0.98
00:04:38.900 is, is an indication of somebody's ability to follow directions. What is school? School is,
00:04:44.480 is, is, is a, is a cultivation for somebody to follow directions inside of a system that's
00:04:49.600 predetermined for them. An entrepreneur designs their own fucking system. Okay. So when we talk 0.99
00:04:56.380 about, you know, A's and B's and C's and D's and F's and all this shit, you know, all it is, 0.93
00:05:04.120 is an indication of how, how will you follow directions? You know? So I would argue my personal 0.77
00:05:09.080 belief is that I would argue that if you get A's, you know, you're likely to go follow life's
00:05:13.540 quote unquote path that you're supposed to be on and do everything you're supposed to. And then
00:05:18.780 when you're, you know, in your mid forties, you're going to say, what the fuck? I did everything I 0.99
00:05:21.660 was supposed to. And here I am. And this is all I got. So, you know, there's going to be people who
00:05:25.600 listen to the say, okay, so Andy, if I hear you correctly, you're telling me just to blow off my
00:05:29.340 studies. Look, man, it depends on, it depends on what you're going to school for. I mean, if you're
00:05:35.620 going to school to be a fucking neurosurgeon, it's probably pretty important that you get A's. 0.98
00:05:39.120 You know, if you're going to school to be an architect, it's probably pretty important that you learn what you 0.99
00:05:42.160 need to do. If you're going to school to be a nurse, it's probably pretty important that you do,
00:05:45.380 that you do well. You know, don't take my words out of context. You know, anybody listening to this
00:05:50.740 that has average intelligence or more knows what I'm fucking saying. Right. All right. So I'm not 0.99
00:05:54.800 saying, oh, blow off your studies. It depends on what you're going to school for. But if you're going
00:05:57.780 to school to be an entrepreneur, to listen to somebody about entrepreneurship, that's never owned a 0.99
00:06:01.540 fucking business, who's the dummy? You're going to learn far more by going out and opening a 0.97
00:06:06.540 business. You know, no matter if it's a popsicle stand, lemonade stand, door to door sales,
00:06:11.180 multi-level marketing. It doesn't fucking matter. You're going to learn more, you know? So, okay. 0.99
00:06:17.100 I mean, the bottom line is, is that, you know, thinking that you can't do something because you
00:06:24.720 think you're not very smart because society tells you you're not very smart. You know, that's, that's,
00:06:30.960 that's something you're going to have to overcome. Period.
00:06:35.320 Number two, I was born into poverty and don't have the resources that you rich people do.
00:06:43.700 Who rich people?
00:06:45.620 You rich people. You were obviously born with a silver spoon in your mouth, right?
00:06:50.020 Yeah. Just like every other fucking person that started a business from nothing and grew it into 1.00
00:06:53.780 something. You know, this is a funny excuse that I get at the gas station when I pull up in my 0.99
00:06:57.960 Lamborghini or my Rolls Royce and they say, must be nice. Must be nice. I'm like, yeah, it was fucking
00:07:03.760 nice. Sleeping in the back of my store for two fucking years. Not getting paid for 10 fucking 0.99
00:07:07.420 years. Really nice. When was the last time you did something like that for 10 fucking years? 0.99
00:07:12.580 When was the last time you dedicated 16 years of your life to something besides eating, 0.99
00:07:18.820 breathing, or sleeping at all? Most people can never answer that. And that's exactly what I
00:07:25.120 fucking say to those people. So I would say you have two choices. You can either choose to look at 0.99
00:07:30.480 your situation as an obstacle and you could say, man, I don't have these advantages. I don't have
00:07:35.840 this. I don't have that. So I can't fucking do it. And then you go live your life, be a fucking 1.00
00:07:41.660 average dude, you know, sit on the bar stool at four 30 on a Tuesday and talk about how you didn't 0.99
00:07:46.840 have the advantages. So you couldn't do anything. Or you could look at yourself and say, wow, I've got
00:07:52.320 the potential to create a fucking awesome story that inspires millions of people about my success. 0.85
00:07:56.740 And maybe I could, maybe I could create a, even if it's moderate success for myself, 0.94
00:08:01.920 create something that my children and my friends and my family is proud of. And that I'm proud of
00:08:06.980 that leaves a legacy of what my time here on earth meant. You have two options and those are your two
00:08:12.620 options. So you can fucking be nothing, do nothing, stand for nothing, or you can go out and do fucking 0.99
00:08:18.640 something. And the reality is, is there's never been more opportunity than there is today to be 0.99
00:08:24.920 successful. There's never been more opportunity than there is today to start a business from
00:08:29.060 nothing. There's never been more opportunity than there is today to be successful. And if you can't
00:08:34.520 see that, I don't know what the fuck could tell you. Well, Andy, you're right. So I do have a little 0.99
00:08:40.400 bit of money, but I have a disability. So I can't succeed in life. What does, what's your disability?
00:08:51.380 Uh, I have one leg. You have one leg, so you can't succeed in business. You can't Google,
00:08:58.620 you can't fucking use a keyboard. You can't use an email. You can't use it. Social media. 0.99
00:09:03.380 I'm just different. I don't experience life the same way. Here's the bottom line is people are going
00:09:08.640 to find fucking excuses in every little thing that they have. Okay. Whether dude, I've heard 0.99
00:09:13.040 people tell me that, you know, I don't, I didn't grow up with rich parents. I didn't grow up with
00:09:17.680 people. People don't invest in me. Look, dude, we grew up with fucking regular middle-class family
00:09:23.100 type shit. Me and my business partner, every fucking successful person I know who has grown up 1.00
00:09:28.960 and started a business from scratch, grew up in a fucking working class family. You know why they were 1.00
00:09:34.100 able to succeed because they fucking grew up in a situation where people had to work. 0.98
00:09:39.180 You know, the problem nowadays is that everybody wants to be special. Everybody wants to have 0.98
00:09:43.200 their fucking, you know, their, their, their special little thing that makes them not able 0.99
00:09:47.760 to do it. And they'd rather have the attention to, they'd rather have the attention of not being 0.99
00:09:52.540 able to do it because they fucking missing a leg or they're missing this, or they, they didn't 0.98
00:09:57.460 have this opportunity. They didn't have that opportunity. And they'd rather have that fucking 0.99
00:10:01.280 attention than they would have the attention of being successful because they're too pussy 1.00
00:10:05.200 to do the fucking work. And that's the bottom line. Okay. So you could tell me, and you know, 1.00
00:10:11.340 you're missing an arm, you're missing a leg, you're doing this, you're doing that. You didn't
00:10:14.680 have the financial resources. You didn't have people that believe in you. You didn't have backing.
00:10:18.960 You didn't have, uh, whatever. I don't fucking care what it was, but your story is going to be 0.76
00:10:24.780 developed by overcoming whatever that obstacle is. And while other people, you know, may not have the 0.93
00:10:30.460 same obstacle that you have, there's plenty of people that have more difficult obstacles
00:10:35.380 that have accomplished far more than you probably ever fucking will by just accepting the fact that 0.80
00:10:41.760 they have that using it to their advantage in some way or somehow and moving forward. And like the
00:10:47.660 reality is, is the things that you're trying, I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to get
00:10:50.980 me prodded up to talk about this shit. But the reality is, is that everybody in society nowadays, 0.99
00:10:56.300 you know, look at the statuses on fucking Facebook. Okay. Nine out of 10 fucking Facebook 0.99
00:11:01.880 statuses is somebody bitching about something or crying about something or spreading some negativity. 1.00
00:11:07.600 It makes me fucking sick. You know, kids nowadays grow up with their parents telling them they did a 0.98
00:11:13.520 good job when they fucking lost. No, you didn't do a good job when you fucking lost. Here's what you 1.00
00:11:19.440 need to do to win. And that's that. But we don't have that anymore in our society. We have a bunch of
00:11:24.820 fucking pussies running things, telling everybody that they're special, telling everybody that they're 1.00
00:11:29.620 delicate flowers, telling everybody that, you know, oh, well, success is for the other guy. It's 1.00
00:11:34.720 for the Kardashians that you see on fucking TV. Okay. Or it's for the people you see on cribs. It's not 1.00
00:11:39.960 for you, dude. We're filled with the society of bullshit in every fucking way. And that's the whole 1.00
00:11:46.920 purpose of the MFCEO project. It's not to fucking, you know, get on here and talk about, you know, 0.95
00:11:53.640 holding hands and singing kumbaya. It's about get on here and understand that no matter what 0.98
00:11:58.100 your fucking excuse, no matter what your situation, no matter where you came from, no matter what you 0.99
00:12:02.820 do. And there's a motherfucker right now listening and saying, but you don't understand. You're right. 1.00
00:12:07.000 I don't understand. What I do understand though, is that you're too big of a pussy to fucking do 1.00
00:12:10.240 anything about it. Period. You know, people are fucking pussies, man. You know, most people 1.00
00:12:17.720 couldn't survive. Most people can't even fucking fathom that other people have bigger challenges 0.93
00:12:23.960 than them. You know, what about the dude? I was driving through North St. Louis, man, 0.94
00:12:28.040 which is a predominantly black community where I'm driving through St. Louis and I see these 1.00
00:12:32.860 fucking 10 year old kids on the fucking corner. And it got me thinking, man, you know, you're on 1.00
00:12:38.080 the MFCEO project and you're talking about all these people and all this opportunity that's out
00:12:42.600 there. And you're talking about, you know, not making excuses and this and that. And I thought
00:12:47.820 about, when I looked at those kids, I thought, man, you know, is the information I'm giving out
00:12:51.800 really true? Do these people really have an opportunity or am I just talking about certain
00:12:57.660 people? Okay. And I thought about it and I thought about it for a couple hours because I was at, I was
00:13:03.940 visiting my friend who was downtown St. Louis. And you know, the truth is, is that it would be harder
00:13:10.680 for somebody like that because they have less positive around to look at and less positive
00:13:15.220 measuring sticks to measure themselves up against. Okay. But the reality of it is, is that
00:13:21.560 it's still possible. They could still invest their time in improving. They could still find the role
00:13:31.140 models in their community and stick to them. They could still learn from people who are doing things
00:13:35.340 right. They could still, you know, do the best that they can in school. They could still work
00:13:40.540 to be something more than what they are. And while they may have started at a different place,
00:13:45.520 the amount of progress that they can make in their life, it's still the same, you know? So we have
00:13:50.880 people all the time who make these fucking excuses, dude, are you going to be Bill Gates? Are you going 0.99
00:13:55.940 to be fucking, uh, Donald Trump? Are you going to be, uh, what's the Oracle Omaha? What's his name? 0.99
00:14:03.160 Uh, Warren Buffett, Warren Buffett. No, you might not be, but dude, there's no question that in this
00:14:09.460 country at this point in time, every single fucking person can greatly improve where they are from 0.96
00:14:16.460 where they, where they want to be. You can make that fucking journey and just sit there and cry 1.00
00:14:22.700 and make excuses about your childhood or your fucking, you know, your accident you got into 1.00
00:14:28.080 or this or that, unless you're like severely handicapped where you require care 24 seven, 1.00
00:14:34.120 you mentally can't think you don't have a fucking excuse. It's invalid period. And most people are 0.99
00:14:43.440 so blessed with so much good and opportunity to, to do good that they take it for granted. 0.99
00:14:50.140 They're fucking healthy. They're average fucking intelligence. They're, you know, 1.00
00:14:55.620 they were raised in a decent home. You know what I'm saying? They, they have all these things
00:15:01.260 and they take them for granted and they say, Oh, well I can't do it because fucking, I'm not, 0.99
00:15:06.460 you know, Dale Earnhardt jr. Or I can't do it because I'm not fucking Kim Kardashian. 1.00
00:15:11.580 Dude, you can't do it cause you're a pussy and you won't do the fucking work. And that's the end 1.00
00:15:15.980 of the day because it, because even if you work at fucking McDonald's right now, you can make your 1.00
00:15:22.220 fucking French fries better. You can make the burgers better. You could take pride in what you do at 1.00
00:15:27.440 that fucking job and increase your position in that job and eventually end up owning a McDonald's 0.99
00:15:32.540 fucking franchise, which could earn you upwards of a million dollars per year period. And that's a 1.00
00:15:40.360 fact, you know, and we have people all day long. All they say is, you know, Oh, I can't do it because
00:15:47.400 of this. Oh, I can't. No, you choose not to do it. You choose to fucking play call of duty as opposed
00:15:53.140 to fucking reading a book. You choose to fucking not do the little things that are required. You 1.00
00:15:58.680 choose to say things like, Oh, they don't pay me enough to do that. Fuck these guys. You choose 1.00
00:16:04.960 that shit. And guess what? The people who fucking don't choose that shit are the ones that end up 1.00
00:16:09.600 succeeding. That's it. There's nothing to it. You know? So any excuse that you want to give 1.00
00:16:15.040 or say or do or whatever it's bullshit. I don't care what it is. I just don't. I've seen it far 0.99
00:16:23.540 too many. And I'm not talking about just myself. Go fucking read about people, people who have been
00:16:28.920 successful. Everybody has a story and your story is either, you know, I have all this hardship so I 0.99
00:16:35.500 couldn't make it or it's going to be, dude, I had all this hardship and guess what? I still fucking 0.97
00:16:39.620 made it. And so can you. And that's what we get into talking about legacy. And we talk about what 0.99
00:16:43.980 your life is going to mean. We talk about the impact you're going to have for the rest of your
00:16:47.640 fucking life. You know, when you're dead, is your life going to actually a fucking matter? 1.00
00:16:52.680 Well, I could tell you this. If you use your excuses that you fucking had a bad childhood 1.00
00:16:56.920 as a reason why you couldn't do anything, you sure as fuck aren't going to matter. You're not 1.00
00:17:01.940 going to make a dent in this world. And that's, that's the end of the story. You know, we could talk
