00:01:26.920 blah. Those are byproducts of the work. Okay. So when you're falling in love with the prize or with

00:01:33.480 the prizes, the rewards, whatever you want to call them of the work, the side effects, the outcomes

00:01:42.940 of yourself, you have to realize that that's something that comes with solving problems.

00:01:54.280 value. It's not success that you, that you need to be focusing on. It's the process of solving

00:02:06.840 a nice car and get excited when you see a big house. And I understand that because I do too,

00:02:11.280 but you have to understand and separate and realize that those rewards are the product of

00:02:18.780 you being good at the process. All right. So many people missed that point. So I wanted to hit that

00:02:24.000 before we get right back into where we were last time we left off. Um, we start changing the way

00:02:30.180 you think. And we talked a little bit about the law of attraction. Uh, we got into some books. You're

00:02:35.320 going to have to go back and listen cause I'm not going to hit it back. The next point that we want

00:02:39.140 to talk about is figuring out your core values. Okay. Um, this is a huge one because our values as

00:02:46.620 humans are going to always drive what we end up wanting to do in our lives. Okay. It's also huge

00:02:53.420 because knowing our core values will help us make decisions about which direction to go in life at any

00:03:00.120 given certain point. And if you know your core values really well, you may be presented with a great

00:03:05.520 opportunity, but know that it's not a great opportunity for you. For example, a lot of you

00:03:10.920 guys, you know, you chase money, you see things that are financially rewarding and you say, Oh yeah,

00:03:16.760 I'm going to do that. Even though you might hate the process. Okay. The process might be like the

00:03:22.560 worst possible thing for you, but you're like, I'm going to do it because it pays well. Eventually guys,

00:03:28.160 that's going to wear you out. It's going to beat you up. It's going to punch you in the face a million

00:03:32.300 times. And you're not going to be able to do it with that mindset. I'm sorry. I don't know. One

00:03:35.920 once I know a lot of millionaires and I know a few billionaires, not one of them does something that

00:03:40.720 they don't like. Not one of them does something that is not aligned with the core values of who

00:03:44.900 they are as a person. You know, I think a lot of us don't have a vision for our lives because we don't

00:03:50.400 have our values figured out guys. My first 10 years in business, I had no idea what the fuck core

00:03:55.860 values even were. I really didn't. Um, I, and I'm, I'll bet more than half of you right now don't

00:04:03.560 know what they are. Okay. And defining them as extremely crucial point of, of progressing because

00:04:10.800 putting in the work to decide what you are, what you're about, what you're willing to do and what

00:04:14.940 you believe in is ultimately going to define and, and, and direct your actions towards success.

00:04:21.140 Right. So this is one of those moments where straddling in that line between being a success

00:04:25.760 podcast and being a business podcast, uh, might create some confusion. So when you tell people

00:04:30.540 to, to, to determine your core values, are you saying for you as a person, what guides you,

00:04:37.620 what, you know, what's your, what are the points on your moral compass? Or are you talking more about

00:04:41.260 your business? Well, I think they're the same. I think that those two things are the same because

00:04:45.980 if your core values don't align with the core values you set up for your business or, uh, the

00:04:50.880 career path that you're going to choose, you're never going to be able to do it with the full

00:04:54.340 heart, with, with all your heart, all your momentum, all your power, all your energy,

00:04:58.260 which is what it takes to be successful. Basically, if you don't fucking believe in it with everything

00:05:02.640 you have, you're not going to get to that point where those rewards that you are, you know,

00:05:07.740 dreaming about right now are going to materialize. You understand what I'm saying?

00:05:11.700 That makes total sense. So, so with another way of saying this,

00:05:14.140 like you can't have core values of like, say, Hey, I'm an honest guy. Hey, I, I, I'm a man of

00:05:19.580 integrity. Uh, you know, I go the extra mile and then go out and sell, uh, a bullshit, get rich quick

00:05:26.560 scheme to people who are, uh, you know, hungry for that message. Right. My core values are those

00:05:34.280 things. And a lot of other things, which is why I don't go out there and do, you know, easy to be

00:05:38.780 for me to fucking take pictures of my cars, dude, I got 11 exotic cars right now. I can fucking do a

00:05:43.920 video, fucking go through my garage and be like, yeah, guys, all it takes is for you to buy my program.

00:05:49.080 And you know what? You'll be successful too. You'll be on the road, blah, blah, blah. And then

00:05:53.240 I could go pay somebody to tell a bullshit story of, you know, yeah, I follow Andy's principles and

00:05:57.980 now I'm a millionaire. Dude, I'd probably make fucking 500 grand a month selling the program

00:06:01.960 easily, easily, easily, but I don't do that because it's not aligned with my core values of doing the

00:06:07.300 right things. Right. Yeah. And you also have a lot of clarity in the decisions you make on a day to

00:06:11.940 day basis. So, so question that I have would, another way of saying this would be, you can't know what

00:06:17.060 to do if you do not know who you are and what you stand for. Is that another way of putting it?

00:06:23.300 I think that's a great place to start. You know, for, for me personally, I went through nine years

00:06:28.200 of business before I ever even understood what core values were. During that time, I made no money.

00:06:33.460 The most money I made during that first nine years was $695 a month. Once I identified my core

00:06:38.640 values that, and understood that I was there to serve people, I was there to do the right thing.

00:06:43.340 I was there for the long haul. And since I'm here for the long haul, I understand that doing the

00:07:01.140 people would have gotten to that point. Yeah. I was trying to make money. I wasn't trying to serve

00:07:06.860 people. Once I switched in my mind, the, the mentality of trying to produce money or make

00:07:13.240 money or be a fucking baller, you know, into, I'm trying to help people solve a problem. I'm

00:07:17.560 trying to solve their problem. I'm trying to make them have such a great experience that they tell

00:07:22.260 everybody, dude, that's when shit started happening. Right. Right. Okay. So in practical terms,

00:07:27.300 share with me or share with everybody a couple of the key core values that drive you and your company

00:07:31.480 and then just walk through, I mean, how did you even arrive at those? Well, they're base. It's basic

00:07:35.960 things. Okay. Um, like be disciplined, right? You know what you have to do on a day to day basis

00:07:41.260 and you have to be disciplined to do those things with a hundred percent enthusiasm, which is another

00:07:47.400 core value. Be enthusiastic. Even when you don't feel like doing it. Okay. It's real easy to come to

00:07:53.440 work when you feel good and kick ass. It's totally different thing to come to work and kick ass when you

00:07:57.540 feel like shit or you don't, you're tired of talking to people or you're, you're irritated with

00:08:01.380 people or your girlfriend's mad at you or your wife's mad at you or, you know, something bad has

00:08:06.460 happened in your family. Those are the days that make the difference, right? Cause anybody could do

00:08:10.500 good when they feel like doing good. So like be disciplined, be enthusiastic about it. Even when

00:08:14.900 you don't feel like it, take initiative, don't wait around for somebody to, uh, give you permission

00:08:20.720 to do things. If you see something that needs to be done, there's value in that. If you're an employee

00:08:25.100 of a company and nobody told you to go do, uh, go sweep the warehouse floor and make it per spot

00:08:31.940 perfect, but you do it on your own without being told, you, you have to realize that there's value

00:08:36.100 in that and that value will eventually be recognized. And that can go for any task that needs to happen.

00:08:44.820 our company. All right. Little things make the biggest difference. And I'm giving you my perspective.

00:08:48.880 When I see somebody who takes care of the little, little details that everybody else

00:08:52.760 passes on, dude, that impresses me. It's not like the guy who necessarily goes out and this is

00:08:58.960 valuable to goes out and finds a way to make the company money. It doesn't have to be these big

00:09:03.360 things. What impresses me is the person who takes the initiative to do the little things, because I

00:09:07.660 know if they do the fucking little things, perfect, guess what? They're going to do the big things.

00:09:11.400 Perfect. So taking initiative, going the extra mile will be something that goes along with that.

00:09:57.580 will. Um, but the point is, is that they all tie together and they all form a spider web, so to speak,

00:10:04.520 uh, or interlocking, you know, solid, uh, wall or platform to launch your values of, of your,

00:10:14.220 of your business and of your, uh, your personal character. Right. And, um, you know, if you want

00:10:20.860 your company to be effective and if you want, if you want to be effective, you've got to live by those.

00:10:24.740 You've got to, you've got to not only just like a lot of people have core values up on their wall,

00:10:33.160 right. That nobody ever fucking paid attention to. That's not core values. Core values are

00:10:44.300 who, uh, just did the minimum with a customer and I said, Hey bro, you know, you didn't go the

00:10:49.820 extra mile on that at all. You didn't make an effort to, you know what I mean? That's how you

00:10:53.400 correct your employees. That's how you correct yourself. You had to speak in those terms. And so it's a

00:10:57.680 whole, this is a whole different lesson. But the point is, is if you don't know what the fuck you

00:11:01.500 stand for, you stand for nothing. So be Captain obvious for a little bit here and flesh it out.

00:11:06.660 I mean, just spell it out for people who are having a difficulty. So they, some guy comes

00:11:10.640 to you and says, okay, Andy, I can say with clear conscience, I have a incredible work ethic.

00:11:15.280 All right. I literally don't know what to do with my life. So tell me how having these core values is

00:11:20.460 going to give me the next step. Because you're going to be able to identify things that will

00:11:24.680 potentially be the wrong path. Okay. Do you follow what I'm saying? Yes. So you're going to be able to,

00:11:30.520 a lot of guys go down a million paths cause they don't know which way to go. Well, what if you

00:11:34.260 have a filter that's going to help you delineate and decide and filter out which ones are going to

00:11:38.160 be the wrong ones? Gotcha. This is what that serves. Process of elimination. Exactly. So let's say you

00:11:42.400 have a hundred paths and 70 of them are wrong and you define who you are, what you are, what you stand

00:11:47.200 for. And you, you make a decision based around those values. You're going to be able to identify the

00:11:53.860 seven. So now you only got 30 to look at. You know what I mean? Absolutely. That, I mean, even that was

00:11:59.040 even a little bit unclear in my mind, but I'm, so I'm glad I asked that. So that makes a lot of

00:12:02.360 sense. So you ready to go to the next one? Yeah. What is it? All right. Do something to better

00:12:06.860 yourself every day, both practically. And I know the word morally is kind of a, got some baggage as

00:12:13.680 a word, but I'm talking about developing your skills and developing your character every day.

00:12:17.840 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, greatness is success. It doesn't, it doesn't start with what you do. It starts

00:12:22.820 with who you are, you know, simple things, man, like helping somebody every day, you know,

00:12:32.300 supposed to do. You know, holding the door open for a lady that's got her hands full, uh, putting

00:12:37.360 the shopping carts away at the grocery store, even though you're not the one that left them

00:12:41.700 out. You know what I mean? Everybody today is in this, um, it's not my fucking fault. Well,

00:12:46.820 you know what? Once you recognize the problem is there and this is good. This goes back to

00:12:51.020 living by your core values, right? Once you recognize the problem was there and you didn't

00:12:54.880 do anything about it, whose fucking fault is it? It's yours. It's yours. Yeah. So,

00:12:58.480 and that's accepting responsibility, which is another core value. But the point is, is that,

00:13:02.940 you know, doing things that, that feel good with no reward or no expectation of reward are good for

00:13:09.800 you. They're good for your character. They're good for your karma, which I'm a huge believer in.

00:13:13.340 Right. Um, and they're good for the development of, I mean, if you want to, if you want to

00:13:19.400 break it down to a pure business sense, it makes you fucking look good to other people,

00:13:23.640 other people recognize it. Right. So there's all these things that, that there's nothing bad that

00:13:28.900 could come of that. Yeah. Pretty much. So, um, you know, you could talk about the, the,

00:13:34.820 the good reasons for your heart. You can also talk about the reasons that would be considered more

00:13:39.100 selfish. Like I just said, everybody sees you do it. So they think you're good. What fucking

00:13:42.740 difference does it make? You're doing it. It's good shit. Right. Right. Yeah. Right.

00:13:47.120 Um, I wish I had the specifics of this story because I know that this has happened before

00:13:51.200 and I know that I've talked to wealthy people, very successful people who, who, for whom this

00:13:54.960 has happened. But I know I've had people tell me like I'm in the back of my mind, wish I could

00:13:59.520 remember his name, but there was a businessman who told me that he was coming out of a grocery

00:14:03.060 store one time and he saw exactly what you're talking about. He saw some kid go out of his

00:14:07.140 way to return the groceries, the grocery store cart, which clearly wasn't even his cart. And

00:14:12.380 he was like, I'm going to go talk to that kid. He was impressed that the kid, whatever. And he ended up

00:14:16.920 hiring him. Yes. And I, and I know that, I know you, you've had similar situations where

00:14:21.260 you, and that's another reason, you know, like you said, it's a law of reciprocity.

00:14:25.200 Somebody experiences. Yes. Somebody experiences you doing something positive and there's an

00:14:29.720 equal and opposite reaction. Right. And it may not become, and, and, and people argue this

00:17:54.380 there by being negative or by doing bad things, dude. You just can't do it. Right. You got to think

00:17:59.620 about it. Like you have to have a team behind you. How the fuck are you going to have a team behind you?

00:18:20.000 on in his life, you know, fell in love with some girl and he got totally screwed over by her. And so

00:18:24.560 as a result, from that point on, he had this really negative view toward women. He had this negative way

00:18:28.800 of responding to them. And so what happened was it was a self-fulfilled prophecy and he ended up having

00:18:33.520 all of these really bad experiences and his conclusion are, well, women suck. No, what happened was

00:18:38.740 you got screwed over once. It changed you. It changed the way that you related to people.

00:18:42.820 And so it literally just replicated itself again and again. A hundred percent. So for the people

00:18:46.980 that say, Oh, well, what about the people that screw you over? Well, right. There are going to be

00:18:51.360 those people that screw you over, but if that, if you allow that to change you, then that's going to

00:18:55.920 become the self-fulfilling prophecy that you're going to continue to perpetuate that again and again

00:18:59.980 and again. Does that make sense? Yes. A hundred percent. Yeah. So that's, that's kind of the way I see it.

00:21:55.520 who's playing the main roles, who's your supporting cast. Are they toxic? Do you need to get rid of

00:22:08.740 analogy. You have a hundred units of energy a day. Okay. And you can either use that energy. Like you
