00:01:16.340 I'm here in Madrid, Spain, covering the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference and bringing you the other side of the story.
00:01:31.560 I'm Sheila Gunn-Reed and you're watching The Gunn Show.
00:01:34.080 Hey, everybody.
00:01:52.340 Welcome to an abbreviated gun show from here at the annual gathering of the Climate Change True Believers.
00:01:58.640 This is the UN Climate Change Conference in Madrid, Spain.
00:02:01.740 Now, inside the building behind me, the world's elites, politicians, celebrities, activists, and faceless, however powerful, bureaucrats are making decisions and drafting policies to control your life.
00:02:13.800 I know that sounds exaggerated and probably a little overly sinister, but I'm dead serious.
00:02:18.860 These people are talking about contraception as a means to control birth rates.
00:02:22.800 They're talking about how much water you should be allowed to use in a day and how high a carbon tax really needs to be to make you drive less, eat less, use less electricity, home heating.
00:02:32.840 You know, all the things you need to do to stay alive in Canada.
00:02:36.180 These elites are making these decisions largely without any scrutiny or any skepticism whatsoever.
00:02:42.180 My colleague, Kian Bextie and I, are not allowed into the belly of the conference because our own government has asked the United Nations to keep us out.
00:02:50.720 But there are some rare journalists on the inside who aren't some of the true believers.
00:02:57.580 I met one at last year's incarnation of this conference in Katowice, Poland.
00:03:02.080 His name is Alex Newman.
00:03:03.240 He's with the New American magazine, and he is where Kian and I cannot be, in the belly of the UN beast.
00:03:10.360 And he joined me yesterday to give me this skeptic's eye view from inside.
00:03:29.280 Joining me now is Alex Newman from the New American.
00:03:32.000 I'm so sorry that it has been so long since we talked.
00:03:35.680 Met you last year in Poland, and you're a fellow denier. 0.81
00:03:40.780 However, you are allowed to be in the main conference because you're an American, and your government didn't ban you.
00:03:47.600 I wanted to ask you a little bit about what's the sentiment around the Trump administration,
00:03:56.540 your sense for that on the other side where all the true believers really are?
00:04:01.500 It was actually really intense.
00:04:03.180 Yesterday they had an event with the Fossil of the Day Award,
00:04:06.580 and it's actually put on by an organization called the Climate Action Network,
00:04:09.740 which we found out is funded by an organization called the Sea Change Foundation,
00:04:13.940 which was getting Russian money, ironically.
00:04:15.880 No one's interested in Russia collusion all of a sudden.
00:04:17.620 And, of course, the billionaires, the Rockefellers, and so on.
00:04:21.700 And they hosted this thing, and the United States won first, second, and third place for being the best at being the worst.
00:04:27.920 Canada actually shared one of the awards with us.
00:04:30.420 I think you guys shared third place because you guys were still getting oil out of the ground.
00:04:35.000 We're still getting oil out of the ground.
00:04:36.160 And, in fact, we're now net energy exporters for the first time in decades.
00:04:39.880 So the hatred against America, against President Trump, was just off the charts.
00:04:44.980 They had three fake President Trumps to receive the awards. 1.00
00:04:48.820 All of them looked ridiculous with the crazy wigs. 0.99
00:04:51.240 And they all gave kind of silly Trump impersonations, making fun of him, and the audience. 0.99
00:04:58.520 There was probably a mob of maybe 100, maybe 200 people there, official delegates.
00:05:02.400 And I believe there were some American delegates there because I spoke with them in perfect American English.
00:05:06.760 Could have been Canadian.
00:05:08.020 But they were cheering him on and absolutely loving it.
00:05:11.820 So the hatred against Trump is off the charts.
00:05:14.960 They were mocking him, hating on America for not giving them more money.
00:05:19.240 And, yeah, they made it into a big spectacle.
00:05:23.100 Now, you had mentioned that you had reached out to the American delegation.
00:05:27.180 Is that an official government delegation or just a self-appointed delegation of people who claim to represent the United States but really aren't?
00:05:34.220 Yeah, we're trying to find that out right now because, you know, in Poland last year,
00:05:37.520 President Trump himself actually sent a high-level delegation to troll the summit.
00:05:41.620 They had a side event on the wonders of fossil fuels, you know, how great oil and coal were.
00:05:45.940 We're going to keep using them because people need energy, people need to heat their homes.
00:05:50.020 This year, we didn't see anything like that.
00:05:51.840 But there is a U.S. office there.
00:05:53.300 These are lower-level State Department bureaucrats.
00:05:55.980 Many of them holdovers from the Obama administration.
00:05:58.600 And what I understand right now is that they're continuing to participate in this whole fraud as if President Trump wasn't the president.
00:06:05.000 So my guess is the White House at the upper levels probably doesn't realize this.
00:06:08.940 But we're trying to find out right now.
00:06:10.380 We sent an email.
00:06:11.140 We haven't heard back yet.
00:06:12.040 But hopefully we'll hear back soon, and we're going to go knock on the door in a little bit.
00:06:15.220 Now, I remember at prior conferences, even though President Trump was officially trolling the conference, which is beautiful.
00:06:22.800 It was.
00:06:23.080 And Poland was sort of trolling the conference by holding it right across the street from the Coal Museum.
00:06:28.800 And they opened it with the Coal Miners Band.
00:06:30.600 And talked about how great coal was everywhere.
00:06:32.240 And it is.
00:06:32.760 Are there any other, like, state-level delegations here?
00:06:39.720 I think I remember in Bonn, Germany, California, sent quite a large delegation because they were sort of in mourning that President Trump was elected.
00:06:47.780 Is any of that happening?
00:06:48.940 There is.
00:06:49.480 There's actually probably the most prominent booth that we've seen so far is the We're Still In booth.
00:06:55.040 And this is a lot of Americans, basically state-level leaders, mayors of big liberal cities, and leaders of big companies, a lot of left-wing CEOs,
00:07:06.800 who are basically saying, even though the United States is getting out of the Paris Agreement, we're still going to participate.
00:07:11.680 And they actually had a whole delegation of American Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi.
00:07:15.740 Jay Inslee.
00:07:16.840 I think he's here, if not one of his aides is here.
00:07:19.580 But so they're trying to spread the message that the United States still supports this whole fraud, which, of course, is nonsense.
00:07:25.340 We elected President Trump, who said man-made global warming hypothesis was a hoax to benefit the Chinese.
00:07:30.280 That's what people voted for.
00:07:31.660 But they're acting like we're still involved, we're still on board.
00:07:34.700 Al Gore was here saying we're unstoppable, we have all your youth, and they're out marching in the streets.
00:07:39.240 So they're trying to give the appearance that the American people still support this.
00:07:42.860 But the reality is, I think, you know, it's obvious that that's not the case.
00:07:46.080 Yeah, there's a big disconnect with reality.
00:07:47.840 There's a huge sponsorship by fossil fuel companies here.
00:07:53.460 It seems like there's a lot of greenwashing going on happening.
00:07:57.360 And sort of, like you say, a disconnect from reality when the United States is getting these, like, fossil of the day awards.
00:08:05.160 And nobody's talking about how the renaissance in fracking has lowered CO2 emissions, if you care about those sort of things.
00:08:11.920 I don't, but these people apparently do.
00:08:13.900 That's exactly right.
00:08:14.640 I think it's rather sad that CO2 emissions in the United States are going down, because, you know, CO2 is good for the planet.
00:08:19.640 I talked to Dr. Will Happer, who served for about two years as Trump's climate advisor,
00:08:24.960 and he explained the Earth is starving for more CO2.
00:08:27.200 So I would love to see our CO2 emissions rising.
00:08:29.700 Unfortunately, that's not happening.
00:08:30.920 They're going down in the United States.
00:08:32.360 But the United States is getting all the hatred.
00:08:34.400 Meanwhile, in China, they're building coal-fired power plants faster than we can count them.
00:08:39.560 Massive emissions of CO2.
00:08:41.020 Under the Paris Agreement, they said they might maybe consider by 2030 peaking their emissions.
00:08:46.100 And yet China is being presented as the green savior of humanity. 0.59
00:08:49.520 I think it really tells you everything you need to know about the agenda here,
00:08:52.080 that a mass-murdering communist dictatorship, which brutally oppresses its people
00:08:56.320 and emits more CO2 than any other country on the planet, is celebrated as the hero,
00:09:01.260 while the United States, with our relatively free political institutions and our declining CO2 emissions,
00:09:06.400 is somehow the bad guy that we're all going to hate.
00:09:08.540 I wanted to ask you, on the way into the conference, there's those big billboards sort of along the walkway.
00:09:15.000 And you're from Florida.
00:09:16.380 I am.
00:09:16.720 And I read that in one of these billboards that Miami is going to be underwater very, very soon
00:09:24.200 because of the rising sea levels.
00:09:27.440 You're from Florida.
00:09:28.460 Are you moving?
00:09:29.700 No.
00:09:30.240 Actually, I own a house very close to the coast, and I love it, and I will not be moving.
00:09:34.260 And there will be no need to move because the sea level is not going to rise and send us all away.
00:09:38.820 In fact, I've talked to some of the UN's own scientists about this.
00:09:41.460 Last year, after Poland, I went up to Sweden and interviewed Dr. Nita Zaksan-Morner,
00:09:45.940 who was one of the reviewers for the UNIPC sea level section.
00:09:49.680 The very first question I asked him was, hey, I'm from Miami.
00:09:51.840 Is my city going to be underwater?
00:09:53.060 He said, absolutely not. 0.97
00:09:54.560 That's totally ridiculous. 0.97
00:09:55.720 Don't believe the hype. 0.79
00:09:57.140 He actually told the UN that their report was flawed, that it was incorrect on sea level,
00:10:00.720 and that they needed to retract it.
00:10:02.160 They refused, so he resigned.
00:10:03.920 I encourage people to go watch that interview.
00:10:05.740 YouTube's trying to censor it, but we've got about 100,000 views on it now.
00:10:08.920 But he spends 30 minutes talking about the sea level question.
00:10:11.980 It is an absolute fraud.
00:10:14.500 In fact, he goes even further. 0.96
00:10:15.520 He says that the idea that there is a such thing as a global sea level is, in itself, ridiculous.
00:10:20.340 The sea level can rise in one part of the world and fall in another part of the world.
00:10:23.700 He's been tracking it for 50 years.
00:10:25.940 One of the world's leading experts on sea level says it's a fraud.
00:10:28.820 And, you know, in Florida, we see this.
00:10:30.380 You know, I see my parents live right on the water.
00:10:32.400 We see where the water's been.
00:10:33.460 They've owned the property since 1990.
00:10:35.000 It hasn't moved at all.
00:10:36.220 So we're not worried.
00:10:37.560 Now, another thing that I've noticed here is there's a large contingent of schoolchildren
00:10:41.660 constantly being pushed through here.
00:10:43.220 And I know that you focus a lot on education and the progressive left indoctrinating our children.
00:10:48.780 I'm seeing a ton of that here.
00:10:51.820 I think that is really the central thing that we need to understand about their strategy.
00:10:55.920 You know, they've looked at the polling data.
00:10:57.100 They know that most American adults don't even believe their hypothesis, much less want to sacrifice our freedom,
00:11:02.000 our self-government, and our wealth to be able to deal with a non-existent problem.
00:11:05.200 They know that.
00:11:05.880 They've looked at the polls.
00:11:06.700 They've done the focus groups.
00:11:08.040 So their strategy is to capture the children.
00:11:10.480 And they've been very clear about this.
00:11:11.780 Al Gore just yesterday was speaking in there, and he said, hey, we have all the youth marching.
00:11:16.240 So we're unstoppable.
00:11:17.620 This is inevitable now.
00:11:18.960 And that's their program.
00:11:20.280 I mean, in the United States now, public schools all over America are teaching children to be terrified of man-made global warming.
00:11:26.300 You know, only the U.N. can save us.
00:11:27.760 We've only got, what is it, 11 years now left.
00:11:30.100 So, you know, if we're going to win this battle over the long term, really, I think the focus needs to be on education
00:11:35.700 because they're brainwashing the kids. 0.99
00:11:37.040 I mean, Al Gore to me sounded like the Pied Piper.
00:11:39.260 You know, we've got all your children marching.
00:11:41.360 That's scary.
00:11:42.680 Yeah, and, you know, I think Greta Thunberg is a perfect example of this, 0.99
00:11:46.520 where they've taken this young, troubled girl and made her the global spokesperson for something that I don't think she fully understands.
00:11:54.340 And she's being treated like a rock star here.
00:11:56.280 It's absolutely amazing.
00:11:57.760 You know, just this morning I was reading Scripture, and by coincidence, or maybe divine employment,
00:12:01.720 I was reading Proverbs 22, and it says,
00:12:04.020 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child.
00:12:06.220 And here we are with all these world leaders bowing down at the feet of a young child saying, 0.99
00:12:11.720 We must listen to the children.
00:12:13.240 And yet when a child comes in, Naomi from Germany came in and said,
00:12:16.740 Hey, this is all a hoax.
00:12:18.080 Nobody wants to hear it.
00:12:19.160 So it's not about listening to the children.
00:12:20.520 It's about listening to the children who are parroting the message we want them to parrot.
00:12:23.700 And you're right.
00:12:24.100 Greta doesn't understand this.
00:12:25.260 The kids coming out of the public schools don't understand it.
00:12:27.780 I think it's exploitation of children.
00:12:29.700 It's very sad.
00:12:30.360 It's very troubling.
00:12:31.780 And, you know, sensible adults ought to know better than to exploit little children to advance their political agendas.
00:12:36.820 Now, you're on the inside of the conference.
00:12:39.880 We have a few days left.
00:12:41.660 What should we be watching for?
00:12:43.160 What do you think is going to be the theme coming out of the conference as it wraps up?
00:12:47.100 Well, you know, the rhetoric has clearly shifted.
00:12:49.880 And, you know, when we come off the metro, it's very clear.
00:12:52.100 All the signs were warning all the actors.
00:12:53.920 It's not climate change anymore.
00:12:55.320 Now it's a climate emergency.
00:12:56.880 And a lot of it is supported by total fake facts.
00:12:59.300 You know, 40% of Antarctica is going to melt.
00:13:01.480 That's baloney.
00:13:02.360 NASA just came out with a study a couple years ago showing that the ice in Antarctica was expanding at a massive, massive rate.
00:13:08.260 So they're lying, but they're changing the rhetoric.
00:13:10.840 And I think the real threat right now is, you know, and this actually came up in the European Parliament.
00:13:15.160 They just had a debate on declaring a climate emergency.
00:13:17.780 And some of the Germans said, wait a minute.
00:13:19.680 Hitler used a declaration of emergency to usurp all these powers to do all kinds of things that no government leader should be able to do. 0.88
00:13:25.580 So let's stop using this kind of rhetoric.
00:13:27.980 But if you listen to what they're saying, every one of the U.N. bobbleheads, climate emergency.
00:13:32.520 And so their big goals now at the summit are the creation of a carbon market where basically we'll all pay to emit literally the gas we exhale, CO2.
00:13:40.880 And I think that's the big threat is the heating up of the rhetoric.
00:13:44.580 You know, they've even talked seriously now about using U.N. military forces to impose these climate policies on nations that resist.
00:13:52.040 Now, you know, that would be funny if they showed up in America, I think.
00:13:54.540 But, you know, smaller countries, you know, that's a serious thing.
00:13:57.620 So these people are getting very, very serious.
00:13:59.800 You know, when they talk about emergency and the need to declare emergency, we're now in the risk of government usurping totalitarian powers.
00:14:07.280 And if they think they can get away with it, I think that's what's going to come.
00:14:10.320 So we need to be very clear that these people are dangerous, that they must not be allowed to usurp these powers, and that it's all based on a fraud.
00:14:16.660 You know, we're seeing some of that happen in Canada, where many of our provinces have elected governments to oppose a carbon tax, and yet our federal government is imposing it on them, in some instances what could be perceived as illegal.
00:14:30.300 And that's just a small, you know, a polite Canadian example.
00:14:34.440 But, I mean, that's really what it is, where, you know, global warming wasn't enough because it wasn't actually warming, and then climate change wasn't enough because it wasn't actually changing.
00:14:44.560 And then now it's an emergency.
00:14:47.160 So really, you know, when you hear people talking about, well, the kids, they have climate anxiety because of climate change.
00:14:53.040 No, it's not because of that.
00:14:54.220 It's because you're giving it to them, and then you're scaring them, and you're making it something that is a real and existential threat to kids when it's just literally the weather.
00:15:04.720 Speaking of kids behind us.
00:15:06.120 Hey, guys.
00:15:06.880 Hi.
00:15:07.300 I mean, it's so true.
00:15:08.520 The exploitation of kids here.
00:15:10.260 And you're right, this climate anxiety is really a result of adults propagandizing them.
00:15:14.860 These kids should be out playing soccer.
00:15:16.240 These kids should be out playing with cars and trucks and dolls.
00:15:18.480 They shouldn't be telling adults that we need to declare a climate emergency and usurp totalitarian powers.
00:15:23.860 So it's very frightening.

00:15:27.740 And, you know, thank you guys for being here because there's so few media outlets that are willing to report the truth, and it's very refreshing to see you here.
00:15:33.600 So thank you.
00:15:34.220 Yeah, we're doing our best from the outside.
00:15:35.620 Alex, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me, and thank you for the good work you're doing at The New American.

00:16:08.820 Thank you so much for tuning in for this away game version of my show.
00:16:13.080 I'll see everybody back home at the same time next week.
00:16:15.680 And remember, don't let the government tell you that you've had too much to think.
00:16:19.220 Thanks for tuning in for the turtles.
00:16:20.480 Thank you.
00:16:31.220 Thank you.
