Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ An update on what Rebel News is doing to fight back

00:00:00.160 Hello, my Rebels. Today, I give you an update on what Rebel News is doing.

00:00:04.600 I'll talk to you about the news, and I'll show you some video clips.

00:00:07.440 But really, I want to go through about a half a dozen things that we're doing here at the Rebel.

00:00:13.100 And, you know, we don't just talk about the news, we try and fix it.

00:00:16.340 We try and get involved in these terrible stories, often with lawyers,

00:00:21.900 but also with advertising, billboards.

00:00:24.400 Today we'll talk about lawn signs and stickers.

00:00:26.740 Anyhow, I wish you could see those stickers, and a way to do that

00:00:30.640 is to move from just getting the podcast to watch the video of it.

00:00:34.960 We call that Rebel News Plus. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe.

00:00:39.100 It's eight bucks a month.

00:00:40.700 But actually, during this election period, for a few more days, you can get a month for free.

00:00:44.540 Just use the promo code election.

00:00:46.860 All right, here's today's show.

00:00:48.300 Tonight, an update on what we're doing to fight back.

00:00:51.360 It's September 17th, and this is The Ezra LeVant Show.

00:00:54.180 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:00:59.900 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:03.960 The only thing I have to say to the government, the wire publisher,

00:01:07.760 is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:01:09.820 I can't believe it, the timing of it.

00:01:17.140 We just had our big presentation in Regina that we called Uncancelled,

00:01:22.360 because when the little censors in Regina City Hall cancelled their invitation to Dr. Patrick Moore,

00:01:29.360 co-founder of Greenpeace, when they deplatformed him, we replatformed him.

00:01:33.420 And then the pandemic hit, though, but we finally managed to have the event on Tuesday.

00:01:39.240 And while it was great, we had sold close to 2,000 tickets originally,

00:01:43.820 and we lost a few hundred over the course of the past two years.

00:01:47.200 People asked for refunds, reasonably enough.

00:01:49.440 Of course, we gave it to them.

00:01:50.520 But 1,500 people stayed with us all the way to the end.

00:01:53.260 Now, not all of those 1,500 attended, but it was well over 1,000 in a huge and gorgeous venue.

00:01:59.400 And, of course, Dr. Moore's talk was great.

00:02:01.400 My favorite part is always meeting rebels from around the country.

00:02:04.660 And Saskatchewan is always such a friendly place.

00:02:07.780 I've been there many times, of course.

00:02:09.020 I grew up in Alberta, so Saskatchewan is quite familiar to me.

00:02:11.720 But it was fun to bring other rebels to the event,

00:02:14.420 including a few who had never been to the province before,

00:02:18.260 including Alexa and the chair of our advisory board, Raheel Raza.

00:02:23.260 I mention this because it was fun, but because right after the event,

00:02:28.580 Saskatchewan went nuts and locked down again, too, calling for a vaccine passport, too.

00:02:32.540 They followed Alberta into another unscientific, illogical, punitive, authoritarian,

00:02:37.880 endless lockdown, surely unconstitutional.

00:02:41.340 I'm really glad we got in there during the brief interregnum.

00:02:44.260 But, of course, it's a disaster for freedom and normalcy

00:02:47.400 that the province has slouched back into rule by unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats.

00:02:52.840 It's no vote, not even a debate, just do it.

00:02:57.520 Here's the Saskatchewan Health Authority's annual report.

00:03:00.200 Look at page 15.

00:03:02.520 If you can see what that is, it shows month by month

00:03:04.780 the number of hospitalizations and the number of people in intensive care.

00:03:10.220 And you can see that every single month in 2019, before the pandemic,

00:03:17.020 there were fewer people, there were more people in hospital than the next year, 2020, during the pandemic.

00:03:22.320 So compared right to the hospital right before the virus,

00:03:27.800 you compare that to the worst of the virus.

00:03:30.780 And what do you know?

00:03:31.420 Literally every month during the virus, there were fewer people in the hospital than there were before the virus.

00:03:35.600 Hang on.

00:03:35.880 I thought that we were in an emergency.

00:03:37.140 I thought we were in a crisis.

00:03:38.380 The worst thing since the Black Plague.

00:03:40.400 No, the hospitals were emptier than the year before.

00:03:42.620 That's from the Saskatchewan Health Authority's own report.

00:03:46.080 Now, I'm sure some of that is so-called elective surgeries being postponed.

00:03:51.160 Now, if you have cataracts, let's say, or a hip replacement,

00:03:54.400 is that really elective surgery?

00:03:56.520 Non-essential?

00:03:57.620 That's a word that's being thrown around a lot, isn't it?

00:03:59.800 Your job isn't essential.

00:04:00.880 Essential.

00:04:01.580 Your rights aren't essential.

00:04:03.440 Your non-essential surgery is being postponed.

00:04:07.380 That's why I don't clap along at these emetic TikTok videos of nurses dancing in empty hospital wards,

00:04:14.380 because they told us we're in a crisis.

00:04:16.620 They told us we have to walk down so we don't overwhelm the hospital system.

00:04:20.380 But they have time to choreograph and practice,

00:04:22.520 and they'll record elaborate videos on some children's video app.

00:04:26.240 That's one of those double standard things,

00:04:29.040 one of those things that show how the ruling class lives,

00:04:32.200 versus those who are locked down.

00:04:34.040 Did you see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wearing a designer dress that said, 0.88

00:04:37.640 Tax the Rich at the Met Gala?

00:04:40.200 That's the richest, franciest, most decadent party of the year in New York City.

00:04:45.120 Tickets are $30,000 U.S. each for dinner.

00:04:48.960 By the way, AOC said she was just showing how subversive she is. 0.98

00:04:54.220 Yeah, I'm not so sure about that.

00:04:55.520 But here's the Babylon Bee with their take on it.

00:04:58.920 Powerful.

00:04:59.800 AOC writes, Tax the Rich in the Sky with her private jet. 1.00

00:05:04.980 That's funny.

00:05:06.260 They're the best satire site on the net.

00:05:08.020 You know, Marshall McLuhan said the medium is the message.

00:05:11.200 You ever heard that before?

00:05:12.800 Sometimes I honestly don't know what that means,

00:05:14.800 but I know what it means here.

00:05:16.300 It means tax the rich is not actually the message.

00:05:20.480 The medium is.

00:05:21.320 The medium is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez living like a rock star, living like a celebrity.

00:05:26.580 That's the message.

00:05:28.080 Let me show you the real message.

00:05:31.900 New York representative Carolyn Maloney claims to support equal rights for women. 0.61

00:05:36.360 Notice how all the male and female staffers and members of the press are forced to wear masks while she does not. 0.73

00:05:41.440 Some people are more equal than others.

00:05:42.740 Yeah, exactly.

00:05:44.240 Here's AOC herself with masked servants. 1.00

00:05:47.800 Yeah, you sure showed them, didn't you, with your dress?

00:05:51.980 Justin Trudeau went to a hospital to campaign last week.

00:05:54.460 A hospital where you or I could not go, even if our family was in there, because of COVID rules.

00:06:00.860 But he went in for the photo op.

00:06:02.800 But my point isn't just that the hospital let him, showing what they really think of the danger of the virus.

00:06:09.080 It's not just that Trudeau, again, proves rules don't apply to him.

00:06:11.820 We've always known that.

00:06:13.600 But the entire media party that tags along with him on this campaign, they went in with him, too.

00:06:18.320 And not one of them objected, and obviously not one of them declined to go in because of pandemic rules.

00:06:23.700 They know the rules are BS.

00:06:24.800 Do you need a thousand more examples?

00:06:28.600 Like Barack Obama's intimate birthday party the other week with hundreds of maskless partiers. 0.63

00:06:33.280 Or Alberta's Sky Palace, where the Premier and Health Minister had boozy parties while banning the businesses down below.

00:06:40.700 Here's Trudeau trying to fit in at the G7 leaders meeting in the UK a few weeks ago.

00:06:44.840 No mask.

00:06:45.740 Super spreader event.

00:06:46.900 Because he's important, and you're not.

00:06:48.420 So they're important, but children who are largely untouched by the virus have to live like this in school.

00:06:57.020 But all the above fades compared to the new threat, forced vaccinations.

00:06:59.840 You know, the Hippocratic Oath.

00:07:01.460 You ever heard that phrase?

00:07:02.140 That's the ancient doctor's motto, do no harm.

00:07:05.440 It's a holistic statement.

00:07:06.640 Physical harm, mental harm, side effects, unintended consequences.

00:07:11.160 Every patient's a little bit different.

00:07:12.420 That's why we each go to the doctor ourselves, and he or she asks us specific questions about us.

00:07:18.420 And we can even get a second opinion.

00:07:21.200 But there are no doctors involved in the forced vaccination.

00:07:23.700 You don't get the vaccine prescribed.

00:07:26.620 You just go down to a mall or a pharmacy or a political event, and a non-doctor will just jab you.

00:07:32.840 You're not assessed as an individual patient.

00:07:34.740 You're not, in many cases, given all the information about side effects.

00:07:39.540 Here's the Government of Canada's official list of side effects from the Pfizer shot.

00:07:43.080 Do you think one in a hundred Canadians have read this?

00:07:46.100 Even that many?

00:07:46.860 It's not informed consent if you don't have the facts, if you don't have a medical professional assessing, if you need it at all.

00:07:52.960 We don't prescribe medicine to people who don't need it.

00:07:56.120 Then again, there are no prescriptions for this medicine at all, are there?

00:08:00.440 So it's unlikely informed consent, but is it consent at all?

00:08:04.580 If you're doing it under duress, if you're forced to do it, if you're forced to do it,

00:08:08.840 if you're threatened with the loss of your job, with the loss of your ability to leave your house and go to public places,

00:08:13.560 it's not consent if a tyrant says, without undergoing this medical procedure,

00:08:18.420 you will not even be able to meet in private in your own home.

00:08:22.140 For unvaccinated people who are 12 and older, they will not be permitted to attend any private indoor social gatherings.

00:08:29.120 It's not consent if you're being threatened with having your children taken away with you.

00:08:33.320 There's a divorced dad who's been writing to me saying that if he, the dad, doesn't get the jab,

00:08:39.080 he's been threatened with losing access to his own children.

00:08:43.260 That's not a real choice, is it?

00:08:44.580 That's not free and informed consent.

00:08:46.560 That's a shakedown.

00:08:47.460 That's a threat.

00:08:49.040 You could even call that a form of extortion.

00:08:51.540 That's what thugs do. 0.78

00:08:52.520 Remember this scene from The Godfather?

00:08:53.840 Well, when Johnny was first starting out, he was assigned to this personal service contract with a big band leader.

00:09:02.580 And as his career got better and better, he wanted to get out of it.

00:09:07.860 Now, Johnny is my father's godson.

00:09:10.980 And my father went to see this band leader.

00:09:14.300 And they offered him $10,000 to let Johnny go.

00:09:18.020 But the band leader said no.

00:09:19.380 So the next day, my father went to see him, only this time with Luca Brazzi.

00:09:28.240 And within an hour, he signed a release for a certified check of $1,000.

00:09:37.920 How did he do that?

00:09:39.660 My father made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

00:09:43.440 What was that?

00:09:45.700 Luca Brazzi held a gun to his head.

00:09:47.620 And my father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the contract.

00:09:57.000 So that band leader had a choice.

00:09:59.740 He was given an offer he couldn't refuse, as they say in the movie.

00:10:03.580 Here's how Trudeau would phrase that offer you can't refuse.

00:10:06.580 Would you support policies that prioritized vaccinated patients over those who are unvaccinated who are in there because they made that choice?

00:10:15.520 I have heard from healthcare professionals across the country who are, as we know, exhausted from the past year and a half,

00:10:27.360 who are worried about their own loved ones, who are working incredibly hard to keep all Canadians safe, whether they're vaccinated or unvaccinated,

00:10:38.580 but who are expressing increasing frustration and little bits of anger that they are spending so much of their time trying to save people who could have saved themselves.

00:10:54.520 And now is the time for people who are still resistant to getting vaccinated to realize that that choice, which has consequences on putting our kids at risk,

00:11:08.740 which has consequences at having us risk more lockdowns because they haven't chosen to get vaccinated yet,

00:11:17.880 that there will be consequences for those people in not being able to go to a gym or a restaurant, not being able to go to a movie theater, not being able to get on a train or a plane.

00:11:30.800 You don't want to comment on the triage because it's a provincial jurisdiction, but so are movies, so are gyms, all of those types of things.

00:11:39.100 And you also say, you look pretty angry about it, that they're putting kids and people who are vulnerable at risk.

00:11:46.740 Are they not putting some people who may not get the treatment they need in hospitals at risk?

00:11:54.440 And yes, we can all say to a certain extent that it is unfortunate that people who chose not to get vaccinated are now the ones clogging up our ICU systems

00:12:11.140 and our hospital beds that should be available for people who did their work and did get vaccinated.

00:12:19.160 That is really unfortunate. And that is why we are unequivocal.

00:12:22.760 They don't get to put others at risk by not getting vaccinated.

00:12:26.840 When the top lawmaker in the country threatens you with dire consequences if you don't undergo a medical procedure that no doctor prescribed for you,

00:12:34.740 that's not free and informed consent.

00:12:37.460 But who can fight against this? If you're a nurse, can you fight?

00:12:40.160 I mean, you just saw Trudeau say that nurses were near to angels or saints or whatever.

00:12:45.720 Oh, unless they disagree with them. And how dare they have their own opinion that's not his?

00:12:50.240 Well, 20,000 nurses in Quebec don't want to take the vaccine.

00:12:53.900 They've done just fine without the vaccine these past 18 months.

00:12:56.960 But Quebec says it's going to fire them.

00:13:00.480 Health Minister Dubé, very firm that 20,000 Quebec health care workers need to get vaccinated by October 15th.

00:13:06.580 How can they fight?

00:13:08.320 Well, they have unions, right?

00:13:10.160 Solidarity together, strength.

00:13:13.820 Where are the unions?

00:13:15.620 A few are fighting back.

00:13:16.520 The Toronto Police Association, how ironic, considering how brutally they enforced the lockdown themselves.

00:13:22.140 They literally sent 100 riot cops with horses to destroy a smoked meat restaurant that didn't close during the pandemic.

00:13:28.500 That was fun for them, an exciting day of terrifying women and children, a chance to bring out the horses. 0.99

00:13:34.540 They loved it.

00:13:36.360 They loved beating up reporters, too.

00:13:38.620 In the name of the lockdown, here's a picture of them having a go at our reporters.

00:13:42.060 But look at this.

00:13:44.380 There's no bloody way they're going to be jabbed themselves.

00:13:49.340 They're telling the city to stuff it.

00:13:52.060 They're not going to be vaxxed.

00:13:53.080 Their union is fighting back on behalf of the cops.

00:13:55.660 And, of course, they're going to win.

00:13:56.500 Now, I despise the hypocrisy, the ease with which these cops are ready to enforce the jab on others.

00:14:03.660 But I have grudging respect for their ability to compartmentalize that from their own self-interest, looking out for number one.

00:14:10.100 That's a good union.

00:14:11.460 That actually fights for its members, no matter what the bosses say.

00:14:14.340 I'd love to be in a union like that.

00:14:16.840 And I bet a lot of unionized people would, because unions across Canada are selling out their members more than they're defending them.

00:14:23.880 Jerry Diaz, the boss of Unifor and a close Trudeau ally, has basically said he's not going to fight for any Unifor members.

00:14:30.980 So they don't have any rights, because being in a union means you delegate your rights.

00:14:35.520 You give them to the union to bargain collectively, is the phrase.

00:14:38.720 And Jerry Diaz is happy to take your union dues and happy to take all that power, but he's not going to upset his buddy Trudeau.

00:14:46.860 So who can fight back?

00:14:48.740 Well, we'll do our best.

00:14:50.380 Let me close with a list of things you can expect to see in the days ahead, many things we've already started.

00:14:55.920 First, we're delivering our huge petition, over 125,000 names.

00:14:59.760 I think we're up to 133,000 of Canadians Against Force Vaccines.

00:15:03.740 You can sign up at novaccinepassports.ca if you haven't signed yet.

00:15:08.440 We've delivered the first 125,000 names, and we'll keep going until we hit our goal of 200,000.

00:15:14.140 It's clear that politicians don't care what mere voters think.

00:15:17.120 So we're going to court, too.

00:15:18.900 We have filed our first lawsuits against the vaccine mandates.

00:15:22.420 We filed our first lawsuit against the B.C. vaccine passport.

00:15:26.220 We've served notice on a major union that is not representing its members.

00:15:30.420 That's another lawsuit we've started.

00:15:32.660 We're currently drafting the lawsuit against the Alberta vaccine passport.

00:15:36.680 We've hired lawyers in other provinces, too.

00:15:40.260 And we'll have news very soon about strategic clients we're helping in Ontario and Quebec as well.

00:15:46.180 This is such a large project we're working on.

00:15:49.700 We have decided to hire 10 in-house lawyers.

00:15:54.240 We just hired one a couple days ago.

00:15:56.380 We have more in the pipeline.

00:15:57.460 Things never move as quickly as I want them to, but they're moving.

00:16:00.620 I expect we'll have a flurry of announcements next week, including some cases that have already made the news.

00:16:05.640 We're doing something else, too.

00:16:08.460 You see this friendly-looking sticker?

00:16:11.600 We have two versions of the sticker.

00:16:13.720 It says, We Won't Ask.

00:16:15.720 And it's with the website, wewon'task.com.

00:16:20.340 I know we have a lot of websites.

00:16:21.740 This one, we're giving away for free to anyone in the country.

00:16:25.680 We'll mail it to you.

00:16:26.940 We encourage you to make a small donation to help us cover the cost of the mailing and the sticker.

00:16:30.920 But you can also go to our website, wewon'task.com, and print it off yourself on your home or office computer.

00:16:37.720 And it's simple.

00:16:38.400 It just says, you will not be forcibly conscripted by the government into being some secret policeman for the biomedical security state.

00:16:45.920 You just won't do it.

00:16:46.980 You're not going to ask people about their personal medical history.

00:16:49.400 That's what voyeurs do. 1.00

00:16:51.120 That's what secret police do, or peeping toms.

00:16:53.900 Put this sign on your business, at your cash register, on your door, on your home.

00:17:00.160 For when peeping toms come by. 0.98

00:17:03.900 Yeah, no, come back with a search warrant, you bizarre thug. 0.92

00:17:08.520 And you know we love lawn signs, right?

00:17:11.040 We've done them to fight the carbon tax and to promote books like Sheila Gunn-Reed's Stop Notley book and my own The Libranos book.

00:17:16.940 Or we're making lawn signs that say we won't ask.

00:17:21.520 Put it up at your home, on your front lawn.

00:17:23.500 Put it up at work.

00:17:24.900 Show the world that you are not going to be a snitch, an informant, a discriminator.

00:17:29.280 You're not fine with how this is going.

00:17:31.900 Obviously, we're going to put up billboards, too.

00:17:33.540 We've got our first video jumbotron truck billboard going out tomorrow.

00:17:38.120 We're going to do public events, where appropriate.

00:17:40.220 We'll do them with the nonpartisan charity, the Democracy Fund, whose official CRA mandate includes civil liberties litigation and civil liberties education.

00:17:48.620 So they're sponsoring a question and answer session with Tucker Carlson.

00:17:52.340 On Tuesday night in Toronto, he's appearing by Zoom to talk about civil liberties in the age of COVID.

00:17:58.820 You'd think that Canadian civil liberties leaders would be talking about it, but they're not.

00:18:02.460 So maybe an American cares more about our freedom than our Canadian establishment does.

00:18:06.940 You can join in person if you're in the Toronto area, but we've actually got a way where you can watch via Zoom, no matter where you are.

00:18:15.240 Details can be found at rebelnews.com slash events.

00:18:19.020 The Tucker meeting on Tuesday is in Ontario.

00:18:21.920 We're having an in-person event.

00:18:23.480 I'm hoping to do a similar event focused on Alberta.

00:18:26.620 Now, that's just things I can think about off the top of my head.

00:18:29.720 They're not all of equal importance.

00:18:31.560 I love the stickers on the signs because they're a symbol of solidarity for grassroots citizens.

00:18:36.960 It's just like when I used to see people wearing the I'm exempt mask buttons.

00:18:43.240 You can see, if you see this, we won't ask symbol on a lawn sign on someone's yard as you're walking through the neighborhood.

00:18:51.420 You would know you're not alone.

00:18:53.760 You would know that not everyone's happy about living in a surveillance state, an authoritarian state, a segregated state, a biomedical security state.

00:19:00.280 I know if that's the, I don't know if that's the least important or the most important project, but it's a good one.

00:19:06.040 Our FightVaccinePassports.com project is the biggest, that's for sure.

00:19:11.220 That's the 20 strategic lawsuits.

00:19:13.180 It's so important.

00:19:14.360 We've got some great lawyers, but I hope we can get a great judge.

00:19:17.820 You know, two weeks ago, we gave Trudeau an utter shellacking in the federal court for our right to attend a leader's debate and ask questions.

00:19:25.320 I'm glad we won.

00:19:25.940 It was great.

00:19:26.400 But boy, in the grand scheme of things, fighting these fast forced vaccines is much more important.

00:19:33.400 I hope that we win there.

00:19:36.400 We'll do our best.

00:19:37.420 You can help us in so many ways at the websites I've mentioned or even just by sharing this video and spreading the word.

00:19:43.280 This is the time.

00:19:44.460 This is the last ditch.

00:19:45.700 This is when we fight.

00:19:47.540 Speak up now or forever hold your peace, my friends.

00:19:51.580 Stay with us for more.

00:19:52.420 Well, for a while there, I was thinking that Alberta would be Canada's version of Florida, that Jason Kenney would be the answer to Ron DeSantis.

00:20:10.760 Kenney was a freedom fighter pretty late into things.

00:20:16.260 It wasn't until around the fall and Christmas of last year that he went full lockdown, but he switched from being a Ron DeSantis-like touch to being the most brutal premier in the country, really from going to DeSantis to Andrew Cuomo.

00:20:32.100 And what's frustrating is that when he finally took his foot off the neck of the province and stopped the lockdowns, he said he would never go back.

00:20:42.100 Here's a clip of that saying Alberta was free forever.

00:20:45.600 Take a look.

00:20:46.260 Sorry, sir.

00:20:47.480 But I would just want to ask you if, like, because of the message that we have right now, it's open for some or something.

00:20:54.340 Well, it's open for good.

00:20:55.580 Open for good.

00:20:56.160 Are you sure that?

00:20:56.840 It's open for good.

00:20:57.560 I don't want to go back to you.

00:20:58.940 I swear, I swear to God.

00:21:00.900 What's your position with vaccine passports for those individuals unwilling to be vaccinated?

00:21:05.120 Opposed.

00:21:05.620 And we've been very clear from the beginning that we will not facilitate or accept vaccine passports and that, in fact, we regard, I believe that they would, in principle, contravene the, uh,

00:21:15.820 health information act.

00:21:17.440 Yeah, that lasted about two or three months.

00:21:20.440 And I have this terrible feeling that the only reason he wanted to lift all the lockdowns completely is that so he and his MLAs and his staff and his buddies could go on vacation.

00:21:30.700 Because when they tried to go on vacation themselves over Christmas, they broke their own rules.

00:21:35.600 They were all caught as cheaters.

00:21:36.820 And he had to sack a whole bunch of them, including his own chief of staff.

00:21:40.320 But now that he had his own vacation out of the way, he's going to lock down the problem.

00:21:43.840 That's my own speculative theory.

00:21:45.740 But it's deeply disappointing to see someone who swore he would never lock down again, lock down extremely hard, and someone who claimed he didn't even know what's a vaccine passport.

00:21:55.820 I don't even know what that is.

00:21:57.280 Remember this clip?

00:21:58.700 We have no capacity to, I don't even know what a vaccine passport is.

00:22:03.500 All I know is this, that it's illegal, based on the Privacy Act, to ask somebody whether they've received a certain medical procedure or not, including a vaccine.

00:22:12.560 So the government of Alberta at least will not be participating in anything like that.

00:22:16.780 Yeah, do you really think that he didn't know what a vaccine passport was? 0.70

00:22:20.280 Here's Doug Ford, who's too dumb not to tattle, saying that every single Canadian premier was in agreement. 0.78

00:22:29.040 They wanted a vaccine passport. 0.98

00:22:30.880 Here's Doug Ford.

00:22:32.580 All the premiers, every premier, wanted a vaccine passport.

00:22:38.320 And unfortunately, the federal government decided to go to an unnecessary election, which I'm still shaking my head over, in the middle of a fourth wave.

00:22:46.920 So now Alberta has literally the harshest lockdown in the country, because I don't think there's ever been a lockdown anywhere in the free world that I know of, where you cannot meet in person if you're not vaccinated.

00:23:01.920 You can be completely healthy.

00:23:03.820 Maybe you've already recovered from the virus and you have natural immunity, but now you're banned from meeting at home if you're not vaccinated.

00:23:10.960 For unvaccinated people who are 12 and older, they will not be permitted to attend any private indoor social gatherings.

00:23:19.520 Are they going to go house to house?

00:23:22.040 Are they going to come into your house and demand to see your papers for being in your house?

00:23:26.620 I find it astonishing that that's happening in Alberta, a province whose motto is strong and free.

00:23:35.160 And joining us now via Skype from the heart of Alberta is our friend Sheila Gunn-Reed, our chief reporter and our Alberta Bureau chief.

00:23:41.540 Sheila, how are you doing?

00:23:43.360 Well, I'm disappointed, boss.

00:23:45.520 I mean, Jason Kenney has been nothing but a disappointment.

00:23:48.420 I mean, you said in your intro there that he has sort of gone full Cuomo, but I would say that he's more of a Newsom in that Governor Newsom was frequently caught breaking the regulations that he imposes on everyone else.

00:24:03.160 And that's been the same case with Jason Kenney, who held his private meetings up on the Sky Palace with the health minister while arresting business owners for just trying to stay open and imprisoning pastors for 35 days.

00:24:17.920 Yeah, you're right.

00:24:19.540 I just I don't get it.

00:24:20.640 I mean, I when I was a young man, when I was in college, in law school, I met Jason Kenney.

00:24:26.660 We became good friends.

00:24:28.020 Then we went to Ottawa together in something that we dubbed the snack pack.

00:24:33.120 It was a riff on the liberal rat pack and making fun of the fact that we were all a little bit chubby.

00:24:38.300 And I got to know Jason pretty well.

00:24:40.320 He used to be the head of the Taxpayers Federation, which constantly called for smaller government.

00:24:44.460 And when he was in Ottawa, he sort of styled himself as the true conservative one.

00:24:50.940 And I just don't know how he's managed to be co-opted.

00:24:54.560 I don't know if he believes it.

00:24:56.380 I don't know if he's just totally removed from reality is surrounded by people all day who say the same thing.

00:25:02.580 So he believes that's the way the world is.

00:25:04.760 You can that can happen to you if you're surrounded by one click of people.

00:25:09.080 You say, well, everyone says this.

00:25:10.880 No, it's just everyone in your little pod.

00:25:12.760 I don't know.

00:25:14.760 Or maybe he just can't fight the public health deep state.

00:25:18.560 Maybe he's being threatened by the prime minister.

00:25:20.880 I don't know.

00:25:22.400 Maybe he truly believes in this.

00:25:24.400 I bet I just can't make heads or tails of it.

00:25:26.960 It is so contrary to the Jason Kenney that I felt like I knew for 20 years.

00:25:31.300 Alberta is, and maybe we're not all unique in this, but really the public sector unions determine who gets elected.

00:25:39.980 We saw that's how we got Rachel Notley, but it's also how we got Alison Redford.

00:25:44.720 She campaigned as a conservative directly to the nurses and teachers unions, sold memberships to them, and they voted for her. 0.71

00:25:52.120 And she came right up the middle to become the leader of the party.

00:25:55.260 And so they do hold a lot of power in the province.

00:25:59.820 So is he being leaned on quite heavily by the public sector unions, the health care unions, the enormous, powerful health care union?

00:26:07.260 Maybe.

00:26:08.160 I was just looking at the numbers before I jumped on the call here with you.

00:26:12.480 Alberta spends more than any other province in the entire country on health care delivery.

00:26:17.840 Thousands of dollars more per capita than they do in Saskatchewan and in socialist British Columbia.

00:26:25.640 And yet we have far worse outcomes, and we have a health care system, if you believe the premier and you believe the health care unions,

00:26:33.680 that is on the verge of collapse for an extra dozen or two ICU patients.

00:26:40.140 Yeah.

00:26:40.460 I mean, that's crazy.

00:26:41.880 But, you know, I knew the writing was on the wall here, that Jason Kenney would not hold the line when I was looking at, like you say, the people who are around him.

00:26:50.300 We see this sort of vortex of pro-locker downers all around Doug Ford, and that's who he's listening to.

00:26:57.280 Well, I saw the Jason Kenney's lawyer, the UCP lawyer, the guy who sends the cease and desist letters, Stephen Dolansky, very entrenched federal conservative and conservative here in Alberta.

00:27:09.580 And he was tweeting on his Twitter account pro-vaccine passport things, while at the same time Jason Kenney was saying and telling our journalists that he was against vaccine passports.

00:27:23.620 And that's when I knew he's already getting the legal advice to do these things, and it's only a matter of time.

00:27:28.600 You know, I remember when Kenny had a press conference a few months ago talking about the lockdown, he sort of complained that American hospitals, American states, because they're not government-run health care, they have so many more hospital beds than Canadian provinces do.

00:27:44.720 And he, because that's the nature of having competitive hospitals versus a single supplier.

00:27:50.320 And there's a technical truth there, but we're almost two years into this thing.

00:27:56.300 Like we're a year and a half into this thing, and that may have been the case a year and a half ago.

00:28:02.140 Why aren't there more ICU beds?

00:28:04.300 And I say that because you're so right.

00:28:06.260 So there's a few dozen extra cases in ICU, and you're locking down the entire province.

00:28:12.400 That can't be right.

00:28:13.360 And I showed this graph earlier that all summer, Tyler Shandro, the disgraced health minister, was closing ICU beds.

00:28:23.600 It went from about 260 beds to 200.

00:28:28.220 First of all, it's shocking that there's that few ICU beds in a province of four and a half million.

00:28:33.240 Like that's just so bizarre to me.

00:28:34.920 That should be the number in Calgary and Edmonton each.

00:28:37.560 And second of all, why are you, like this is the one thing that you don't need any scientific studies for.

00:28:44.060 Do you need more hospital beds or not?

00:28:45.760 How about if you don't think you need more, how about just don't close them in the middle? 0.99

00:28:51.120 Like, I almost think, because that's so staggeringly stupid, that he literally started closing hospital beds to gin up a crisis. 0.99

00:29:03.140 Because nothing else makes any sense. 0.99

00:29:07.440 Now, in the last few days, they've panicked and opened a bunch more.

00:29:10.640 Okay, so then they showed they can do it.

00:29:12.660 I don't know.

00:29:13.360 The whole thing is just so bizarre to me.

00:29:16.480 Here's what scares me, Sheila.

00:29:17.900 Jason Kenney and his cabinet, they don't deserve to be reelected.

00:29:22.820 And that's hard for me to say as someone who's been a friend of Jason until, you know, I haven't talked to him in the last six months.

00:29:28.760 But I've been friends with him for 20 years.

00:29:31.580 And I actually really believe in him as a conservative and one of the good guys.

00:29:35.800 I think he's been astonishing here.

00:29:39.540 Tyler Shandro may be the worst health minister in the country.

00:29:43.840 Yeah.

00:29:44.860 But if they're down in the polls, God forbid, Rachel Notley comes back in and she's worse in every way. 1.00

00:29:50.980 Yeah.

00:29:51.280 I mean, they've left Albertans with a catastrophe unfolding right in front of them.

00:29:55.620 Do we hold the line with conservatives who are no better than the NDP or do we opt towards the NDP who we know just, you know, a few short years ago, they were destroying the province?

00:30:09.540 So what do we do here?

00:30:11.420 And I think it is incumbent on conservatives, both within the party and outside of the party, conservative voters, conservatives who are within the UCP and some of those dissident MLAs who want to save their own skin.

00:30:25.440 And their own seat coming up.

00:30:27.620 It's time to do a little bit of political hygiene here and get rid of some of these locker downers. 1.00

00:30:34.220 Jason Kenney has been completely shut out of the federal election campaign.

00:30:40.640 And you and I both know we've seen this for years.

00:30:43.460 Jason Kenney, in prior years, he was one of the most popular campaigners for the Conservative Party of Canada.

00:30:50.860 They would deploy him everywhere, all across the country, particularly good at wrangling up the new Canadian vote.

00:30:58.940 I've seen a Chinese grandma jump over a table to hug him.

00:31:03.340 I've seen it with my own eyes.

00:31:04.920 And so, but there's none of that happening right now because he's so wildly unpopular.

00:31:09.960 The problem is Jason Kenney hasn't figured out why he's wildly unpopular.

00:31:14.320 And the Conservatives in the federal party haven't figured it out either.

00:31:18.020 And it's because he's not conservative.

00:31:20.400 He's appealing to the wrong people.

00:31:22.540 Yeah.

00:31:22.660 I think it's probably easier for a critical mass of UCP MLAs, in fact, more than a dozen have already signed a letter opposing lockdowns.

00:31:33.420 It's probably easier for them to break off and form their own new party than to try and defenestrate Kenny from, to try and dislodge him as leader.

00:31:42.420 Why would you even do that?

00:31:43.900 Why not just take your marbles and go set up your own party?

00:31:47.420 You would instantly have enough for official party status.

00:31:52.840 And I think the success of Maxime Bernier's PPC party, which has a very small budget, whose leader is from Quebec and frankly has a fairly thick French accent, whose candidates are not well known.

00:32:05.700 And frankly, I don't even know how vetted they are.

00:32:08.160 But the fact that that party is in double digits in the polls and respectable double digits in Alberta shows how thirsty and desperate people are for anyone to use the language of freedom and to be skeptical.

00:32:23.100 And so I would say to any MLAs and even cabinet minister in the Alberta government, get out now.

00:32:29.600 If you're not going to get out over this vaccine passport thing, you'll never get out.

00:32:34.680 Get out now.

00:32:35.860 And that momentum that Maxime Bernier is getting, get it for yourself.

00:32:39.660 Recruit candidates.

00:32:41.440 And you can truly say that Jason Kenney and Rachel Notley, there's no daylight between them on this whole lockdown issue.

00:32:50.120 I find it stunning to say that.

00:32:52.980 But Sheila, it's true.

00:32:54.060 Last word to you.

00:32:55.580 Well, it is true.

00:32:56.260 And, you know, it's as an Albertan who watches politics and watches politics very closely, we watched the old progressive conservative party come apart after 40 years.

00:33:09.800 This new UCP is coming apart in just four.

00:33:13.900 We are going to see the unraveling back to the whatever they'll call it.

00:33:19.160 But the Wild Rose Rural Party and the urban pro-union, sort of pro-lockdown, middle-of-the-road Tories.

00:33:26.580 We're seeing that happening right now.

00:33:28.320 We're going to see it even more as we approach the next election.

00:33:32.120 Because if there's anything I know about politicians, they want to save their own shirts.

00:33:36.500 And that will prompt a lot to break away.

00:33:38.580 Yeah.

00:33:39.220 Well, very frustrating times.

00:33:41.340 And there's such a void out there.

00:33:44.260 And Maxine Bernier is filling it because no one else is at the federal level.

00:33:50.440 No one is filling that void at the provincial level.

00:33:53.780 And it's aching to watch.

00:33:55.980 But we'll keep people posted.

00:33:57.220 Sheila, great to see you again.

00:33:58.100 Thanks for your time.

00:33:59.500 Thanks for having me on, boss.

00:34:00.600 All right.

00:34:01.000 There you have it.

00:34:01.480 Stay with us.

00:34:02.040 More ahead.

00:34:11.680 Hey, welcome back.

00:34:12.520 Dean Poet says it's gone from two weeks to flatten the curve to two years and there is no end in sight.

00:34:18.620 The so-called medical professionals should not be trusted.

00:34:20.940 From day one, they didn't want to treat COVID.

00:34:23.300 The corrupt medical system instantly went to vaccines as the solution.

00:34:27.820 They send people home to die instead of treating patients.

00:34:30.420 These medical advisors should have their pensions rescinded. 0.90

00:34:33.060 After all, we're in this together, aren't we?

00:34:36.760 You know, so many different institutions have failed.

00:34:39.080 I think the colleges of physicians and surgeons haven't just failed to stand up.

00:34:45.960 They've actually been enforcers trying to terrify rogue doctors from giving second opinions.

00:34:52.140 I think a lot of the doctors have failed terribly.

00:34:54.340 I think it's also a bit of a trick for public health doctors who haven't seen a patient in decades to have the floor instead of doctors who actually see patients.

00:35:05.420 I remember about a year ago, we took you through a large survey of hundreds of frontline doctors treating COVID around the world, including in China, actually.

00:35:15.540 And it was a survey of those doctors of what medicines did you use.

00:35:19.440 And hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin were recommended by doctors all over the world, the actual frontline doctors.

00:35:26.680 Look, I'm not a doctor.

00:35:28.080 I don't know if that works or not.

00:35:30.460 I don't know if ivermectin works or not.

00:35:33.100 A lot of people seem to swear by them.

00:35:34.660 Ivermectin won the Nobel Prize not too many years ago.

00:35:40.180 It's bizarre to me how censored those alternative remedies are.

00:35:45.120 In fact, specifically on YouTube, if you mention ivermectin as a possible remedy for COVID-19, your video will be struck down.

00:35:54.360 If you say the word, if you write the word, they will detect the word ivermectin and take down your video.

00:36:00.660 I've never seen that for anything else in the world.

00:36:04.120 Deb Wilson says, what in God's name has happened to the police force in Australia?

00:36:09.060 How fearful it will be for them when they stand before God to answer for their abuse of authority.

00:36:14.960 All right, fair enough.

00:36:16.880 But I hope that there is some reckoning before they get before God.

00:36:21.620 I mean, surely there are other checks and balances in our civilian society that can hold these police and politicians to account before that.

00:36:30.120 So far, I haven't seen them in Canada.

00:36:33.220 Sandberg Beaton Krauss says, has Kenny lost his brains?

00:36:36.080 Paid off?

00:36:36.640 What's with him?

00:36:37.480 Just voted himself out.

00:36:38.720 But God help us if Notley takes his helm.

00:36:41.060 It seems since people have become more aware, speaking out and protest marches, ironically, a big one had been planned for tomorrow.

00:36:48.160 How convenient we are being so conned and true dope is an evil example of democracy.

00:36:53.340 Tired of the lies.

00:36:54.100 Kenny, a major disappointment.

00:36:55.420 So much evil swirling around in government.

00:36:57.540 God help us.

00:36:59.740 That's what scares me about Albert.

00:37:01.200 I think Jason Kenney is detonating himself.

00:37:03.580 But he's detonating himself on the right and the left.

00:37:07.220 No one on the left will support him.

00:37:08.580 They all want to get back to Rachel Notley, who will be even stricter than any of that.

00:37:12.080 I think he's just a disaster with liberty-oriented, freedom-oriented Albertans, with Albertans from small towns and rural parts.

00:37:19.640 I just really don't know who he thinks his base are anymore.

00:37:23.960 I mean, the media hates him more than anything.

00:37:25.900 I just don't get it.

00:37:27.620 And I used to know him pretty well.

00:37:28.780 I think there is an extreme risk that Jason Kenney will actually lose and hand the government back to the NDP.

00:37:38.580 And I think the most likely remedy, but one that I don't know if the party has any courage for, is to have him defrocked as the leader of the UCP or for the UCP to split.

00:37:50.920 Remember, it was a union between the Wild Rose Party and the PCs.

00:37:54.360 Well, maybe let Kenney stay with the lockdownists and maybe an anti-lockdown party will spring from it. 0.97

00:38:02.760 I don't know, but it's bad news.

00:38:06.380 That's our show for today and for the week.

00:38:08.900 Until Monday, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home, good night.

00:38:13.880 Keep fighting for freedom.

00:38:24.360 We'll see you next time.

00:38:30.760 We'll see you next time.
