00:01:36.880Today, I am asking our security chiefs in the UK to begin work on a new national centre
00:01:44.700for information defence, to detect, attribute and disrupt these kinds of hostile state information
00:01:53.820attacks to support and defend our democracy. Detect, attribute, disrupt. Now, I want to be
00:02:01.780fair to him. Russia does run bot farms. Russia does build fake news websites. In 2019, someone0.94
00:02:08.700really did dump a stack of leaked British trade documents onto Reddit before the election,
00:02:13.460and the British government said it was almost certainly Russians. Nobody serious denies that
00:02:17.580hostile states play these games. And I'm guessing our side does too. If this were a counter
00:02:24.440intelligence unit chasing foreign spies, I really wouldn't have anything to say against it. But
00:02:30.140listen to what he said in the minute before his big announcement. This is from the official
00:02:35.180transcript on the British government's own website. There is no national security without a strong
00:02:41.440cohesive society. Really? Cohesive? Keep that word in mind. They've amplified far-right
00:02:50.000narratives. Far-right. So that's the problem. Not the forged documents, not fake websites,
00:02:57.860narratives, opinions. That's the problem. And then this. Over the last decade, we have given
00:03:04.440too much ground to those who want to run a negative, corrosive narrative about life in
00:03:09.100Britain. Well, no more. Well, no more. That's the prime minister of a country where you can be
00:03:14.440arrested for a Facebook post telling the whole world he's done tolerating people who were
00:03:18.880negative or critical about Britain, or at least his version of Britain. He even told you who the
00:03:24.420problem people are. If you're struggling with the cost of living, he said, if you're young and out
00:03:28.780of work, he said, then you are, quote, much more vulnerable to this kind of influence. You see what
00:03:33.780he's doing here? If you think the country is going downhill, you're not just a citizen with an
00:03:38.500opinion. You are a victim of Putin. You're a puppet of Putin. You need protecting from your
00:03:45.040own thoughts. I mean, why not just do away with the official opposition? They're so very negative,
00:03:49.640aren't they? Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, he saw this in about an hour.
00:03:54.280So Andy Burnham's latest ruse is to launch a National Center for Information Defense to stop
00:04:00.340disinformation. Now, of course, they're using the excuse that Russia wants to interfere with
00:04:05.660elections be in no doubt there are bots online they come from Russia they come from India and
00:04:11.440elsewhere that do try to influence our thinking and that's not a good piece of news but you know
00:04:18.640what will happen with this government already he said it's to stop far-right tropes etc this will
00:04:25.080be like George Orwell's Ministry of Information this will be used to clamp down on free speech
00:04:33.100And the one lesson I'm learning as time goes on, whether it's funding of parties, whether it's cancelling elections, is never, ever trust this authoritarian government.
00:04:44.400And the government's answer? Well, here's the Defence Secretary, Wes Streeting, the next morning on GB News.
00:04:49.340By the way, the Secretary of Defence doesn't really have a lot of defensive assets anymore.
00:04:53.580Most of the Royal Navy is in port for repairs, but he's ready to battle on the ground.
00:04:59.620in the UK. He said, quote, we're not interested in policing domestic political dissent. We're not
00:05:04.700interested. Okay, let me show you how interested they've been so far, because this isn't Britain's0.89
00:05:09.140first Ministry of Truth. It's about the fifth. Here's a report from a British civil liberties
00:05:14.100group called Big Brother Watch, January 23. The title is Ministry of Truth. They use freedom of
00:05:22.200information requests to find out what Britain's existing anti-disinformation units were actually
00:05:28.200doing during COVID. The units had names like the rapid response unit and the counter disinformation
00:05:34.600unit set up, they said, to fight disinformation. And who did they catch? Peter Hitchens, the great
00:05:41.320historian and columnist, David Davis, a conservative MP who was flagged for saying vaccine passports
00:05:47.480were discriminatory. Professor Carl Henehan of Oxford flagged for an article asking whether the
00:05:53.820rule of six was arbitrary. That's the rule that banned gatherings of more than six people during
00:05:59.200COVID. Julia Hartley Brewer, a famous broadcaster, was flagged for tweeting about a woman harmed by
00:06:05.040the care home policy. And one more, there was this labor politician who was written up in a rapid
00:06:11.500response unit report for opposing local lockdowns in his city. He just happened to be the mayor of
00:06:17.440Manchester. His name is Andy Burnham. That's right. The man who's building the biggest
00:06:21.900disinformation unit in British history was himself on a disinformation unit's list for
00:06:28.120disagreeing with the government. And now he is the government. He was disinformation once. Now
00:06:33.600he decides who is. That's the thing about disinformation, isn't it? It's basically an
00:06:37.520insult you throw at your opponents. Now it gets worse. The British army has an information warfare
00:06:43.960unit, the 77th brigade, built to fight the Taliban online. A whistleblower told Big Brother Watch
00:06:50.020though, that during COVID soldiers were collecting the posts of what he called, quote, ordinary
00:06:55.000scared people who questioned the lockdown. Not Taliban bad guys, bad guys in the UK. The Ministry
00:07:02.060of Defense denied it. Then the Defense Secretary just stood up in the House of Commons and admitted
00:07:07.060the brigade used British social media to, quote, assess UK disinformation trends. And then came
00:07:14.080Southport. I don't know if you remember that story. August 2024, three little girls were murdered
00:07:18.880at a dance class, a Taylor Swift-themed party.
00:09:59.900These are our stories, our Rebel News access to information requests, our reporters, including Sheila.
00:10:06.040The Privy Council Office, that's the Prime Minister's own department, wrote a briefing note about hiring a, quote, social media monitoring service as a pilot project during COVID.
00:10:17.520Sheila Gunn-Reed got it through access to information.
00:10:20.080government staff wrote, and I quote, without social media monitoring, we are missing an
00:10:25.020important tool. I thought you were tracking down Putin. And then they bought the tool called
00:10:31.860Meltwater. That's a corporate surveillance company that scrapes social media and then tells its
00:10:36.600clients who's saying what. We found the contracts in the public accounts. The Privy Council has
00:10:41.420been paying Meltwater since 2014. One contract alone, nearly $50,000 for media monitoring.
00:10:48.720Is that how you fight Putin? Then came the war between Israel and Gaza, and this one
00:10:54.260should make you angry. Canadian Heritage Department gave $128,000 to a British outfit called
00:11:00.820the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, really, for something they called, and this is the
00:11:06.420government's own title, a digital analysis situation room on Israel-Gaza extremism,
00:11:13.700hate and misinformation. Now you might think, okay, so they're tracking Hamas terrorists,
00:11:19.440right? No, no. Blacklock's got the records. What did the Situation Room watch? Quote,
00:11:26.260right-wing responses to the conflict. Accounts that had taken, quote, a staunch pro-Israel
00:11:32.160position. Whose accounts exactly? Was it mine, maybe? Someone a rebel? Heritage won't say.
00:11:38.280Remember Andy Burnham, though, he said far right narrative.
00:11:42.360So it's really the same playbook, just a different country.
00:11:47.260In 2020, again, when the COVID was starting to be a rationale for burning our civil liberties,
00:11:53.200the Canadian Armed Forces, our military, drew up a plan during the pandemic to run influence operations on Canadians.
00:12:00.700A later internal investigation found commanders saw COVID as, quote,
00:12:04.200a unique opportunity to test propaganda techniques on the public.
00:12:31.520Then it came out that the public health agency had bought cell tower location data on 33 million mobile devices to watch where Canadians went during the lockdown.
00:12:42.640And just this summer, the one that should make everyone sit up, Black Locks, got a 35-page memo out of Industry Canada, Melanie Jolie's department.
00:12:51.640The title was, Misinformation and Disinformation Strategy.
00:12:55.520strategy. They're targeting Facebook and X. Those are the places where misinformation about
00:13:04.000the department is, quote, most likely to appear or spread. Talks about deciding whether your posts
00:13:09.920are factually incorrect, misleading, or out of context, as if a politician can tell you you're
00:13:15.860thinking wrong. Talks about moving from a reactive stance to prevention and early detection. What
00:13:22.500does prevention of bad ideas look like? And then there's a whole section on legal action, mostly
00:13:28.400blacked out. The government suing citizens over posts. Is that what happened to us? Because we're
00:13:33.360always being sued by people who look like they're individuals. Are they being funded by the
00:13:38.380government? I don't know. It's blacked out. We can't find out. The Justice Center for Constitutional
00:13:43.420Freedoms is now asking anyone who has a takedown letter from Ottawa to come forward. That's a
00:13:47.840Ministry of Truth move, isn't it? And the architecture is going, it's going up right now.
00:13:52.280I don't know if you remember Judge Hogue in the Foreign Interference Report told the government
00:13:56.720to, quote, consider creating a government entity to monitor what she called the domestic
00:14:01.820online information environment. The domestic environment? In March, the Carney government0.98
00:14:08.820put in $31.5 million into global affairs, quote, rapid response mechanism to watch for information
00:14:15.600threats. And I'm quoting the press release at all times, not just at election time, all the time.
00:14:22.440And then there's Bill C-34, Mark Miller's Safe Social Media Act. It creates a digital safety
00:14:28.140commission that can order platforms to take content down and fine them over harmful content,
00:14:33.900a category that includes everything that foments hatred. Mark Carney on September 21st said,
00:14:40.620this fall we will press ahead. And Mark Miller, a week later on what his commission will be
00:14:46.680deciding, said, quote, what constitutes legitimate and illegitimate discussion is a very fine line.
00:14:53.140Yeah, a line drawn by him. So here's what I would ask Andy Burnham and Mark Carney,
00:14:59.380if they ever allowed us into a press conference. I'd say, name one thing that Canadians or Brits
00:15:05.180believe about their country that is false and that Vladimir Putin put in their heads.
00:15:13.380Over in Britain, Reform's Zia Yusuf asked a former Labour advisor exactly that on live TV.
00:15:19.600So you are making the claim, and Andy Burnham made the claim, that there is Russian disinformation
00:15:24.460that is driving public opinion in Britain. What piece of information that is driving discontent
00:15:29.260amongst British people, amongst GB News viewers, was seeded in their minds by Vladimir Putin?
00:15:35.180I have been at a speech today by the Australian head of security
00:16:32.200I asked your question three times and you didn't give me an answer.
00:16:33.700I don't have specific examples, but what I do know is that if you're going to make an argument that we need a whole quango to focus on Russian disinformation, you should have a fragment of everything for it.
00:16:44.960Nothing, because the negative corrosive narrative isn't coming from Moscow.0.96
00:16:49.880It's coming from your grocery bill, your rent payments, your mortgage, from the hotel full of military-aged migrant men down the road.0.99
00:16:59.620People don't need a Russian bot to notice their own lives.0.86
00:17:03.700They can't disrupt Putin. Putin's not going to be disrupted by a committee in Downing Street or 24 Sussex Drive. The only people that those disinformation units can reach are you.
00:17:16.920And the machine has already been built in London and in Ottawa, and every time it's been switched on, it has pointed at the same people.
00:17:24.400Lockdown skeptics, immigration critics, pro-Israel Canadians, the negative, the corrosive, the far right, which is to say about half of you watching tonight.
00:17:34.460Andy Burnham found out the hard way that he was on the list.
00:17:39.660The only difference between him and you is that he got to become prime minister and take over the list.
00:18:09.120They're just trying to be the interesting person at the cocktail party.
00:18:12.440No one genuinely believes we're going to be invaded by America.
00:18:16.640Everyone knows that is just Donald Trump's signature braggadocio, if you want a $12 word, or him just yanking our chain.
00:18:27.720The whole thing started when Justin Trudeau said to Donald Trump that if he put tariffs on Canada the way he was planning, that would end Canada's viability as a country.
00:18:37.180It was Trudeau who planted that seed of inception in Trump's mind forever after Trump yanked at that and poked at that and scratched at that.
00:18:47.840And I think he I mean, I don't understand why Trump is keeping the gag going on, because I don't know how it promotes American interest.
00:18:56.940But what it does is it allows Canadian pundits to fantasize about an actual war with the United States.
00:19:05.900And no one, of course, is egging on that fantasy more than Mark Carney himself, who is the only one to use the language war.
00:19:12.640We're in a trade war and to suggest that we need new allies.
00:19:17.060And those allies would include the Socialist European Union and Communist China, to whom he pledged our support for the new world order.
00:19:26.640But this new article in the Globe and Mail just takes it to a new height.
00:19:32.320It's called, With Talk of a Hypothetical American Invasion, Canadians Should Think About Nonviolent Resistance.
00:19:40.800And this is by a professor named Richard Sandbrook, who is an emeritus professor of political science at the University of Toronto and vice president of science for peace.
00:20:19.020How come Canadians are suddenly so butch, so warlike, so tough1.00
00:20:24.960when it comes to the United States after generations of being so meek0.61
00:20:29.620banning firearms defunding our military and the like it's an interesting conversation and one i'd
00:20:34.840like to have with tracy wilson she's the deputy boss over there at the canadian coalition for
00:20:40.680firearms rights and she joins us now via zoom tracy great to see you again thanks for coming
00:20:45.200back on the program it's it's just sort of weird for me to see the globe and mail bring in a
00:20:52.140toronto professor to talk about how we can resist an american invasion like this is fantasy on top
00:20:58.940of fantasy on top of fantasy i really feel like this is some sort of erotic fiction that the left
00:21:05.140is writing about how suddenly they're going to rise up and and defend canada against the u.s
00:21:10.660military which is not going to attack but boy they love pretending it's like a fantasy on their part
00:21:16.480what do you make of it oh it's pure liberal uh boomer fear porn that's what it is and it's um
00:21:25.240It's actually embarrassing. I was reading this morning in the National Post, we've got retired Vice Admiral Mark Norman talking about how the armed forces of Canada has basically been left to rot, and he's not overstating that.
00:21:38.300You know, we barely scraped together 70,000 Red Force troops, and to suggest that we would be able to defend ourselves in any way from any invasion by the Americans is ridiculous.
00:21:51.900Thankfully, that is not going to happen.
00:21:54.560So I, you know, I think that Carney started off his campaign with a lot of fear porn about the Americans and an invasion and getting people to get their elbows up and hate our neighbors to the south, despite our long, lengthy friendship and partnership with them.
00:22:12.440But I think we're sort of veering into the ridiculousness at this point.0.51
00:22:46.020and if you ever press a politician to define what is can you tell me what is an assault weapon what's
00:22:51.820the difference between that and a regular hunting rifle they they actually do have an answer and
00:22:58.260it's about how scary it looks like does it have this plastic piece and does it look like i mean
00:23:03.900there's no functional explanation it's just it looks like something they've seen in the movies
00:23:09.320So they want to ban every possible scary thing in real life.
00:23:15.000But then when it comes just to them to outline their fantasies, they're suddenly going to rise up as one and stop the mighty U.S. from invading.
00:23:26.920I read this article in the Globe and Mail because the headline says it was about nonviolent resistance.
00:23:33.560And I wanted to know what that means, but they never actually say, let me quote a little bit from the Globe. What is nonviolent defense and how would it work? It is a strategy of deterrence and resistance in which unarmed civilians play a major role, either alone or in coordination with the armed forces.
00:23:53.300The civilian volunteers employ their training in nonviolent methods to make their country ungovernable by the occupier and to undermine the pillars of support on which the invader depends.
00:24:05.800That's it. They actually don't explain what any of that means.
00:24:14.600In fact, like, look, we've got a couple of tools in our toolbox for the Americans, you know, and these should have been happening all along.
00:24:22.500I've been doing it all along. I've been buying Canadian. I've been waving my flag. You know, this new era of suddenly everybody's got a flag and they've got their elbows up and, you know, they're going to buy Canadian. It should have been that way all along. In my house, it always has been.
00:24:37.660But to suggest that in any way that we are going to put up some kind of combative resistance to American troops is ridiculous.
00:24:47.980This is the same government that is spending billions of your tax dollars confiscating legally acquired firearms from licensed, vetted, RCMP tested and trained gun owners and not investing that money in our military.
00:25:03.120So, you know, you can't you can't really have it both ways.
00:25:05.940You can't disarm your population. And at the same time, you use fear porn about an American invasion that is literally a fantasy in the minds of the liberal talking heads in Ottawa.
00:25:19.260It's so weird. I think the largest, I mean, Canada does have a military. I mean, it's just underfunded, under-equipped, demoralized, underpaid.
00:25:28.180And it actually used to be quite active in peacekeeping. There was a point in time when Canada punched above its weight.
00:25:35.080I actually don't think there are any peacekeepers in the world right now from Canada.
00:28:07.220He completely evaded any detection because he just simply didn't go get a firearms license.
00:28:12.800He acquired his guns illegally, like many other madmen in our country, and was ready
00:28:18.400to perpetrate a really horrific crime.
00:28:20.160You know, it sort of brings me back to the 2020 tragedy in Nova Scotia in Portapique, where we had a madman there who committed two days of just, you know, murdering innocent people, 22 souls lost in that province over that horrible time.
00:28:38.660And of course, that tragedy was the catalyst for the beginning of the Trudeau era gun bans.
00:28:43.760And of course, that guy also worked completely outside the entire system.
00:28:48.680He had no firearms license, acquired all his guns illegally.
00:28:52.380You know, none of these measures that have been put in place since 2015, when the liberals have taken power, would have done a single thing to stop that crime or this horrific, you know, what could have been a very horrific crime in Belleville.
00:29:06.880So shout out to law enforcement for, you know, saving lives that day.
00:29:10.620And, yeah, it just goes to show that we are 100 percent focusing on the wrong on the wrong people.
00:29:18.460And, you know, we've got 11 years of the liberals record on public safety.
00:29:23.340And unfortunately, it's been a tragic and bloody failure.
00:29:26.160And it's going to continue that way until Carney changes course on it.
00:29:30.640You know, Dr. John Lott is a U.S. scholar who is it's interesting to talk to him because he doesn't make the argument from a moral point of view or from a constitutional point of view.
00:29:43.120He never argues that we have these God-given rights.
00:29:51.220I mean, I'm sure he does believe in the morality of owning firearms and the right to self-defense.
00:29:55.900But all of his papers, all of his books, I mean, one of his books is called More Guns, Less Crime.
00:30:02.060And one of his basic theses, especially when it comes to mass shootings, is a bad guy with a gun is only stopped when a good guy with a gun shows up.
00:30:13.120because being disarmed and i mean really you have to wait for the shooter to run out of bullets
00:30:18.860or someone's got to stop him and you're probably not going to stop him unless you yourself have a
00:30:22.920firearm and that's a terrifying thing to to think about and to talk about but it also happens to be
00:30:28.280true um like this god forbid this shooter would have gotten in the synagogue he would not have
00:30:33.260been stopped until later he left and police accosted him and that's an argument for private
00:30:39.980firearms ownership um in israel quite often if a terrorist incident happens people nearby who
00:30:48.520happen to be packing heat stop it before an official policeman does um in the states it's
00:30:54.640quite frequent that a churchgoer like it's when i say quite frequent it's not rare to see someone
00:31:00.980going into a church to do horrific things and a someone in the sanctuary pull out a firearm and
00:31:07.400stop it yeah well and you know when we're talking about this i was just thinking about that
00:31:13.020information that came out last week about the um the incident in tumblr ridge you know we've got
00:31:18.600these uh these these documents the communications between the perpetrator and a 30 year old
00:31:24.000american um person that that he was speaking to and you know within that those chats uh the killer
00:31:33.240the shooter, the young man from Tumblr Ridge said that the only thing that he was worried about
00:31:39.780stopping him from being able to kill tons of children would be, you know, law enforcement
00:31:46.240or somebody else with a firearm. And, you know, you read that and it's almost revolting to even
00:31:52.740think of it, but that is 100% true. So, you know, you can live in a unicorn and rainbow world where
00:32:00.900you say, you know, no, no guns, never. It's not going to happen. That's impossible. You can't
00:32:07.440put that genie back in the bottle. So, you know, it's, it's my opinion that the best thing we can
00:32:13.020do is give people the means, the opportunity and the training to protect themselves and those that
00:32:18.500they care about. Yeah. Well, listen, keep up the fight, Tracy Wilson. Great to see you again. A
00:32:22.780couple of unusual and curious stories. I think they're linked by the way. But I am glad at least
