00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. Oh, my gosh, have I got a story for you, perfect for Thanksgiving Day.
00:00:05.400 It's about a Christian pastor who was banned from about six different places in Canada
00:00:12.380 each time the government doing the banning. Well, he actually stopped to sue one of the banners,
00:00:19.160 but they filed their statement of defense, and it is shocking. I'll take you through it.
00:00:23.540 But first, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus. That's the

00:00:46.520 you're listening to our podcast
00:00:56.540 Tonight, the city of Moncton, New Brunswick, tells a judge that a Christian worship concert
00:01:07.440 in a public park is a danger to the public, and that canceling it was the way to prevent
00:01:12.940 quote, anticipated hate speech.
00:01:16.260 Hey, happy Thanksgiving.
00:01:17.360 It's October 12th.
00:01:18.520 This is The Ezra LeVant Show. 0.99
00:01:23.220 Shame on you, you censorious thug. 0.81
00:01:26.540 Thanksgiving is a holiday on our calendar that's actually about God, not just a long weekend or a 0.98
00:01:42.140 mattress sale. The whole idea is that you stop and you give thanks to God for what you have. Who else
00:01:47.660 would you be thanking? So I thought today was the right day to show you a court document. It's called
00:01:51.900 a statement of defense. The Corporation of the City of Moncton in New Brunswick filed it on
00:01:57.200 September 22nd, a few weeks ago, in the court in New Brunswick, six pages long, signed by one of
00:02:02.280 the biggest law firms in Atlantic Canada. It's the city's official legal explanation of why it
00:02:07.960 canceled a Christian worship concert in a public park last summer. I'll read you the important
00:02:13.620 parts, but let me back up just for a second. Sean Feucht, I think that's how his name is pronounced.
00:02:17.860 I've had the pleasure of talking to him once or twice.
00:02:20.300 He's an American worship leader, big in evangelical circles.
00:02:24.160 He really believes in music as part of his programming.
00:02:27.620 He's conservative.
00:02:28.460 He's pro-life.
00:02:29.120 He supports Donald Trump, which in Canada these days apparently makes you a public safety hazard.
00:02:35.100 A Canadian Christian ministry called Burn 24-7 booked him for a cross-country tour called Let Us Worship.
00:02:43.160 It's free.
00:02:44.100 It's open to anyone.
00:02:46.040 Halifax, Charlottetown, Moncton, Quebec City, Gatineau, Vaughan, then out west.
00:02:49.600 Like a rock concert tour, really.
00:02:52.200 In Moncton, the organizers applied for Riverfront Park on April 4th.
00:02:57.560 The city said yes on April 30th.
00:02:59.640 This is last year.
00:03:01.000 The organizers sent in a site plan, insurance.
00:03:04.320 For three months, they went back and forth with the city's event coordinator
00:03:07.080 about porta-potties and drinking water.
00:03:09.700 This was a done deal.
00:03:10.840 and here's how the organizers describe the event on their application this is in the city's own
00:03:17.080 filing paragraph 14a i'll read it to you this is a free public live christian music event
00:03:23.440 with a live band bringing together churches from different communities in the area to pray for the
00:03:29.840 city in the region there will be tanks of water for anyone who would like to be baptized it's
00:03:35.440 about bringing the community together. Frankly, that sounds pretty fun. Churches, praying for the
00:03:41.600 city, baptisms, a band. That's the event. That's what Moncton calls a threat to public safety.
00:03:48.800 That's what they said on July 22nd, just two days before the show, the city in its own word,
00:03:55.040 quote, received communications from members of the public expressing opposition to the event
00:03:59.540 and Sean Foyt, and indicating an intention to organize counter-protests. So you're protesting
00:04:05.760 against a church? Well, there was a feminist group, a pride group, a few others. They wrote
00:04:11.120 an open letter demanding the city cancel it. Is that how it works? They had about 100 signatures
00:04:17.340 in a city of 80,000 people. Hey, by the way, even if they had 50,000 signatures, do we cancel
00:04:25.860 religious gatherings because of a vote? And then the next day, July 23rd, the city canceled.
00:04:33.060 Here's the email the city's general manager of community services sent to the organizers. It's
00:04:37.240 quoted in the city's own defense. Quote, following a thorough review, the event was found to be
00:04:42.320 non-compliant with the city's code of conduct in city facilities. In addition, due to evolving
00:04:48.340 safety and security considerations, including confirmation of planned protests, the city has
00:04:52.960 determined that the event poses potential risks to the safety and security of community members
00:04:57.180 event attendees and organizers the code of conduct day so like a like a christian concert is against
00:05:05.500 the code of conduct you sure about that it's just three pages long it's about things like not
00:05:11.300 screaming at the ref at the hockey rink zero tolerance for violence threats harassment that's
00:05:16.260 that's what it is it bans throwing objects at people it bans discriminating against people
00:05:20.760 on the basis of religion. Frankly, someone at City Hall might want to reread that last one.
00:05:25.380 It doesn't say a word about events or permits or protests. And the word hate isn't in it. Nothing
00:05:31.160 in there lets the city cancel your booking because someone else threatens to show up and yell at you. 0.81
00:05:36.860 So the Christians sued $50,000 in charter damages. Section 2B, that's freedom of expression,
00:05:42.000 freedom of religion. That's 2A, plus a declaration that the city broke the law.
00:05:46.820 our friends at the justice center are running the case because here's what happened to the
00:05:52.780 concert it got moved like i say just hours before showtime to a camp uh two hours and 20 minutes
00:06:00.520 away in the middle of the woods now they expected a thousand people to come to moncton
00:06:05.800 only 200 made it to the to the campground of course it was two hours away i'm surprised that
00:06:11.260 many even made it okay fine so that's the lawsuit but now the city's answer because this is the part
00:06:17.960 that should really worry you paragraph nine the city's safety concerns and i'm quoting arose from
00:06:24.900 the potential interaction between attendees and individuals individuals opposed to the event
00:06:29.760 sean foiked or both okay so the danger wasn't the christians the danger was the people coming to
00:06:37.640 confront the christians the city says so itself under their own lawyer's argument that this is
00:06:44.000 their defense and its solution was to cancel the christians paragraph 14q the purpose of the
00:06:51.680 cancellation was quote to ensure public safety and to prevent and to participate in hate speech
00:06:56.040 anticipated hate speech so nobody had said anything nobody was charged with anything
00:07:03.280 A bureaucrat looked at an American's Twitter feed, guessed what he might say at a prayer rally in New Brunswick,
00:07:10.940 and shut down the prayer rally in advance?
00:07:13.340 That is not a safety decision.
00:07:14.960 That is like a pre-crime arrest for a hymn.
00:07:20.280 They throw in his security team, included members of the Proud Boys.
00:07:24.660 No names, no evidence, just a line in a pleading.
00:07:27.260 And they note helpfully that they just heard Parks Canada pulled his Halifax permit.
00:07:32.620 So, you know, everyone must be doing it, so it must be okay. 0.97
00:07:36.340 If everyone is picking on this Christian, well, it's okay, it's safe to pile on. 0.90
00:07:41.560 And then the line that tells you they know exactly what they did. 0.99
00:07:45.540 Paragraph 14R, the city, quote, acknowledges that the effect of the cancellation was a limitation on Section 2B of the Charter.
00:07:52.700 So, they admit it.
00:07:55.740 They admit they limited freedom of expression.
00:07:57.760 They just say it was justified.
00:07:59.960 And then comes the lawyer's trick.
00:08:01.320 They say the church group filed the wrong kind of lawsuit.
00:08:04.700 It should have been a judicial review and the deadline for that is passed. 0.98
00:08:07.720 So throw the whole thing out and make the Christians pay the city's legal bills. 0.99
00:08:11.620 That's not a public safety policy. 0.74
00:08:13.500 That is, that's a heckler's veto.
00:08:15.140 You ever heard that phrase?
00:08:16.940 Heckler's veto.
00:08:17.780 Whoever doesn't like things gets the power to shut it down.
00:08:21.160 Think about what the city is actually telling the judge.
00:08:23.560 We had a threat.
00:08:24.980 The threat came from protesters.
00:08:27.200 So we punished the people who were being threatened and we do it again.
00:08:32.320 Now, if this were one city with one Scottish bureaucrat, it would be a local story, but it isn't.
00:08:37.680 This is a huge story.
00:08:39.080 Parks Canada, Halifax, revoked.
00:08:43.220 Charlottetown, revoked.
00:08:44.800 Quebec City, canceled the lease.
00:08:46.620 The National Capital Commission in Gatineau, canceled the permit.
00:08:50.480 Vaughan, no permit in the first place.
00:08:52.080 Abbotsford, BC, the city asked the police and the fire department for, quote, safety letters, and they just didn't answer.
00:08:59.560 The only province where the show went ahead in public was in Alberta.
00:09:03.860 Daniel Smith's government said it, quote, does not engage in shutting down or censoring law-abiding events.
00:09:08.540 Imagine that, a government that enforces law instead of surrenders to the mob.
00:09:13.360 Oh, in Montreal, Montreal is the one I wanted to talk to you about because it shows you what the, quote, safety argument really means.
00:09:19.560 In Montreal, the city pulled Sean Foyt's outdoor permit to, remember you remember this,
00:09:23.660 So there was a small Spanish-speaking church, Ministerios Restauracion, Pastor Burnaby Guedero.
00:09:32.120 So he opened his doors at the last moment to Sean Foyt.
00:09:35.520 Do you remember that?
00:09:36.220 And he hosted him inside.
00:09:37.800 And it was amazing.
00:09:39.300 For that, the city of Montreal fined the church $2,500.
00:09:43.960 And during the service, though, here's what's crazy.
00:09:46.320 Here's the Rebel News part.
00:09:47.340 Someone walked into the church, lit two smoke bombs, two incendiary devices, threw them at the stage and walked out.
00:09:58.620 Now, our Alexa Lavoie saw the whole thing.
00:10:01.920 Take a look.
00:10:02.520 During Sean Fort's worship performance, someone in the crowd lit a smoke bomb and threw it at him.
00:10:17.340 And someone quickly took it, ran outside to expose it because the smell was really intense
00:10:26.800 and it was really difficult to brief for some people here
00:10:30.880 who were attending the performance.
00:10:55.800 There are other threats in Canada, and people don't talk about it, and he's not a threat.
00:11:01.140 Because I've heard his songs, I think it's a good feeling.
00:11:25.800 Smoke bombs, fire bombs at people who were praying in a crowded room.
00:11:29.660 So what did the police do?
00:11:30.600 Well, you'll remember they did nothing for months.
00:11:32.760 No arrests. Alexa called them. They didn't come.
00:11:35.700 We put out a reward. We got the surveillance footage.
00:11:38.740 We identified him. His name is Gabriel Lepage.
00:11:41.140 And it turned out he worked for the Department of National Defense
00:11:44.260 at the Long Point Base in Montreal.
00:11:47.960 With, as we reported, links to Antifa.
00:12:16.580 We found the thug who allegedly smoke bombed
00:12:19.820 a Christian worship service, and he appears to be linked
00:12:23.800 to an anti-fossil operating within Canada's Department of National Defense.
00:12:29.400 When Alexa went to ask him about this, masked men showed up and one of them assaulted her.
00:12:34.360 The police didn't come that time either.
00:12:36.320 By March of this year, a detective was recommending a charge of mischief and nothing more.
00:12:40.700 Alexa kept at it for more than a year and he was charged.
00:12:44.440 Mischief, Alexa's reporting, is the only reason he was charged at all.
00:12:47.840 And we're not just reporting this one.
00:12:49.720 Rebel News and the Democracy Fund are paying for the church's lawyer, Mark Joseph,
00:12:53.200 to fight that $2,500 fine in Quebec Superior Court.
00:12:57.180 In February, a judge threw out the city's attempt
00:12:59.500 to have the case tossed.
00:13:00.720 It's going to a full hearing.
00:13:02.540 Letusworship.ca if you want to help.
00:13:05.220 Now, here's the question I want you to sit with.
00:13:07.200 Imagine if the Montreal police
00:13:08.760 had taken Moncton's approach.
00:13:11.360 Imagine they'd walked into that church
00:13:13.000 after the smoke cleared and said,
00:13:14.300 well, pastor, you see what happens
00:13:15.980 when people gather?
00:13:17.240 You're too risky.
00:13:18.240 We're shutting you down.
00:13:19.720 And the man with the smoke bombs,
00:13:22.000 he can go home.
00:13:22.960 Now you would say, that's crazy, that's blaming the victim, that's the exact opposite of what
00:13:27.900 police are for. And you'd be right, because that is exactly what Moncton did. It's exactly what
00:13:33.900 Parks Canada did. That's exactly what Quebec City and Charlottetown and Gatineau did. And every place
00:13:38.900 I've just listed is a government body, a body that's bound by the Charter of Rights. They just
00:13:44.040 did it in a couple days early in the case of Moncton, so nobody had to see the smoke.
00:13:49.360 I know this, how this whole thing works.
00:13:51.640 You know, this sort of happened to me.
00:13:53.340 Take a look.
00:13:55.220 November, two years ago, Bathurst and Shepard in Toronto,
00:13:58.500 a pro-Hamas rally.
00:14:00.000 They had an effigy of Yahya Senwar, the terrorist leader.
00:14:02.780 I was there as a journalist, taking pictures and asking questions.
00:14:05.860 And the Toronto police handcuffed me.
00:14:08.920 Not the pro-Hamas men, me.
00:14:11.320 The officer told me my presence was causing a breach of the fees.
00:14:14.080 Look around you, he said.
00:14:15.640 They're not happy that you're here.
00:14:17.680 They were the threat.
00:14:19.140 I was doing nothing wrong.
00:14:21.020 And I was the one taken away in handcuffs.
00:14:23.240 No charges, of course.
00:14:24.520 There was nothing to charge me with.
00:14:26.340 But it was the same logic as Moncton.
00:14:28.240 The mob wins.
00:14:30.780 The mob gets to the park.
00:14:32.200 The peaceful person gets removed.
00:14:34.380 And a government lawyer calls it proportionate.
00:14:36.360 I'm talking about the Moncton case.
00:14:38.800 That's the thing about a heckler's veto.
00:14:41.240 Once the government accepts it, the hecklers learn.
00:14:43.460 Every time they threaten, they win.
00:14:45.120 And so they threaten more.
00:14:46.020 and pretty soon nobody has to show up
00:14:47.680 and nobody has to actually throw anything at all
00:14:49.660 because the city does the job for them
00:14:51.160 in advance for free.
00:14:53.060 The government actually becomes the censor.
00:14:56.380 This should bother everyone in Canada
00:14:57.840 who cares about religious freedom,
00:14:59.420 whether or not you'd ever go to a Sean Foyt concert,
00:15:02.180 whether or not you're Christian.
00:15:03.300 Today it's an evangelical with a guitar in a park,
00:15:06.360 but in Montreal it was a church fine for opening its doors.
00:15:09.820 Who's next? What's next?
00:15:12.220 And one more thing, Sean Foyt is an American citizen.
00:15:14.380 He came here lawfully.
00:15:16.020 invited by a Canadian church group to sing hymns in public parks, and half a dozen Canadian
00:15:20.560 governments, federal and municipal, shut him down. One of them is now telling a court the problem was
00:15:25.360 anticipated hate speech. Can you believe that? Anticipated hate speech. I got to remember that
00:15:30.280 one. You know, the U.S. State Department publishes a report every single year on religious freedom
00:15:36.200 in every country on earth. Canada is in it. I think the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa should be reading this 0.93
00:15:41.740 court file i'm gonna make sure they get a copy and the reason for that is i think we need america
00:15:47.440 to help us i don't think our courts and our politicians and our journalists are enough to
00:15:52.180 save us i actually think we need a stern talking to by marco rubio because i don't think there's any
00:15:57.940 political champion of free speech in canada that's standing up to this do you have you seen this
00:16:03.280 anywhere so happy thanksgiving thank god for what you have think them out loud if you like sing if
00:16:10.040 you like, just not in a park in Moncton. They might cancel you. Stay with us for more.
00:16:23.700 Well, sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. And the book we're going to talk about
00:16:28.100 today with its author, right away when you read the title of it and look at the cover of the book,
00:16:33.580 you can predict who is going to talk about this book in a grown-up way and who's going to pretend
00:16:39.260 the book doesn't happen. Who's going to put their hands over their ears and say, yeah, yeah, yeah,
00:16:43.740 I can't hear you, and close their eyes, I can't see you, because the name of the book is
00:16:47.720 Chicken Land. Okay, that's not the part that I'm referring to, but the subtitle is Murder in the
00:16:55.780 Name of Allah. Well, all of a sudden, it's a very different sounding book, isn't it? No surprise,
00:17:02.360 then, that certain media outlets have decided to not even mention this book. That's safest,
00:17:08.260 don't you think the author is john goddard he was a reporter with the associated press
00:17:14.020 in tehran iran when the iran hostages were released he later worked for the toronto
00:17:19.620 star he joins us now as the author of chicken land john great to see you thanks for coming by
00:17:25.620 thanks i love your show well it's very nice of you to say now when you hear the name chicken land
00:17:30.500 it's it's almost sounds funny like the chicken dance or a or a chicken farm what is chicken
00:17:38.000 land and why would it be a story about murder in the name of Allah chicken land's the name of a
00:17:44.500 takeout restaurant takeout chicken restaurant in Mississauga and people ask me well chicken
00:17:51.420 land does that mean canada or does that mean the rcmp anyway um and just to give you the context of
00:18:01.100 this the way the process these people went to trial well stop for a second tell me tell me
00:18:06.580 this this whole thing went down in the chicken land restaurant so give us a little bit about
00:18:12.380 the facts and then let's talk about the trial because chicken land this is just a neighborhood
00:18:18.760 chicken restaurant and then one day everything went straight to hell tell us about that day 0.85
00:18:23.320 very popular uh restaurant family run and um so what had happened was the uh a group of muslim
00:18:32.840 men of pakistani origin had uh established an online retail company in mississauga
00:18:39.560 and they were they were they were in a warehouse and they were used and they were doubling
00:18:44.200 the business as an isis cell and they were funneling money from the business to isis
00:18:53.880 terrorists in pakistan and they were planning terrorist attacks in canada
00:18:59.480 one of the workers was a convert to islam he discovered what they were doing he left the
00:19:06.600 company he left islam he went back to work with his family at their restaurant chicken land
00:19:12.860 Well, the guys at the warehouse were like, well, are they going to tell the family?
00:19:17.860 Is they going to go to the police?
00:19:19.280 What's going to happen?
00:19:21.140 So three of them, a shooter, a getaway driver, and an instigator who was not there at the scene of the crime,
00:19:27.940 they decided to wipe out the family.
00:19:30.680 Unheard of.
00:19:31.760 A family, attempted mass murder of a family at a workplace.
00:19:36.040 Nobody's ever heard of that.
00:19:37.500 And anyway, the shooter went in.
00:19:39.560 He was there for 18 seconds in the restaurant.
00:19:42.820 He fired seven bullets.
00:19:45.020 He shot, so there's a father-mother, two sons in their 20s, daughter 13 years old, and a delivery driver was there at the time.
00:19:55.620 So he shot one son through the neck.
00:19:59.340 One son shot twice in the head, killed him on the spot.
00:20:04.580 The delivery driver kind of right in the side of the head, didn't penetrate the skull.
00:20:10.420 mother in the arm father in the chest daughter at the back drove behind a fridge and missed the
00:20:16.340 bullet so um so one killed and the other survived um where was i to cover up what this one son had
00:20:29.480 learned working at this double purpose factory so this was they were trying to wipe out anyone who
00:20:36.760 could talk about it i guess right and the strange thing was that uh okay the local crime reporters
00:20:44.040 when uh you know they're listening to the police radios they go down they do a one-day story two
00:20:49.000 day story and that's it i mean and local local reports nobody's heard of this um wait what was
00:20:56.280 the year of this how long ago was this five years ago 2021 and i'll tell you something else uh eight
00:21:03.960 days later was when that kid in London, Ontario in his pickup truck sped down the street and turned
00:21:13.360 to hit a family of five Muslims on the street corner. And that was a huge national story. The
00:21:20.700 prime minister went down, Doug Ford went down, all the national leaders went down, all the mayors
00:21:27.720 and municipal uh counselors were there thousands of people showed up the the toronto raptors went
00:21:35.080 down the maple leafs went down uh to show support for the family it was huge and and the trial was
00:21:41.480 covered uh you know for for seven weeks and chicken land nothing didn't did not penetrate
00:21:50.280 the public consciousness so let's skip ahead to the ending of the trial uh who was charged who
00:22:00.540 was convicted what were the sentences for this isis cell that went to wipe out a possible informant
00:22:07.660 so they decided that the trial would be for the murders and the isis cell they would give to the
00:22:15.360 rcmp the icmp did nothing with it well i don't know if they did nothing but they won't talk
00:22:21.000 about it and they didn't lay any charges so none of the isis cell people beyond the three who were
00:22:27.900 convicted for murder uh which i mean they're still walking around they're still in canada for all
00:22:34.160 you know yeah uh they just walked and um so the but but during the trial the trial was crazy uh
00:22:43.700 just all sorts of mysterious things kept popping up even though the trial wasn't really supposed
00:22:49.860 to be about the isis cell you heard things about it like oh they were planning to uh do attacks in
00:22:56.820 canada they were planning to attack a mosque i don't know which mosque never found that out
00:23:02.020 now why why would they attack a mosque if they're an isis cell well you know it could be uh they're
00:23:08.420 sunni and and they were they had a shia target or amadeya target or maybe um they were a
00:23:16.660 conservative mosque that weren't radical there was no explanation so in the end you say there
00:23:24.140 were three murder convictions i mean that's quite something and a family almost wiped out 0.99
00:23:28.800 i mean luckily several survived that that sounds spectacular in the negative sense of the world
00:23:36.320 like where it's it's such a spectacle i mean it it's not just like a gang drive-by uh it it's just
00:23:45.700 such a crazy story that you think would be reported on just for the uniqueness of it and the what it
00:23:52.840 says about our modern age uh i don't think i've heard of this story other than our friend joe
00:23:58.820 warmington references it from time to time uh like did the cbc cover this murder did did the
00:24:07.260 toronto star cover it how did they cover it did they mention isis um like it's especially if if
00:24:14.940 some of the isis cell is still in canada uh it sounds terrifying joe warmington did a great job
00:24:23.380 So he wasn't there the night of the murder and attempted murders, but he followed up.
00:24:28.840 He was the only one who did.
00:24:29.900 He was the only one curious about it.
00:24:31.620 And he went to the warehouse, got three of the employees outside and in front of the camera and interviewed them and said, hey, is ISIS involved in this somehow?
00:24:41.160 He must have got some kind of tip off from the police.
00:24:44.720 It's a great piece of gumshoe journalism.
00:24:48.480 He just did a great job.
00:24:49.620 now um and then three years passed and finally i was tracking this uh i'd go to the um you know
00:24:59.480 the remand hearings and stuff like that and finally the trial comes up and i go and i'm the
00:25:06.620 only one there so after three days i thought what am i doing all alone when there's this isis thing
00:25:13.840 involved i mean they were bringing in witnesses one witness had two bodyguards with them
00:25:20.160 uh and i started to get nervous so i i got in touch with all the news executives in town
00:25:27.120 global ctv cbc globe and mail national post i didn't call the star um
00:25:35.920 uh i i didn't think they'd be interested so anyway the next day joe warmington was there and there
00:25:42.640 There was a couple of CBC reporters, and CTV was there.
00:25:48.180 Global joined in.
00:25:50.080 And then the next week, there was a reporter for The National.
00:25:54.460 And they covered the ISIS angle, but then they kind of lost interest.
00:25:59.600 I mean, these injuries that I just described were never described.
00:26:03.560 They never made it to print.
00:26:06.880 And the dimension of the thing.
00:26:08.960 So, and the terrible thing, you asked about the Toronto Star.
00:26:15.280 So, about the third week of the trial, there was a reporter
00:26:19.240 from the Toronto Star showed up.
00:26:21.140 He was a 15-year, you know, experienced journalist,
00:26:26.240 and did such a terrible job.
00:26:28.720 I just, just for fun, I quoted his two, the tops of two
00:26:34.620 of his stories in the book, just so people could have a look.
00:26:37.840 One of the sub-themes of the book is how the reporters handled themselves.
00:26:43.120 You know, some of these reporters who showed up very resourceful, very intelligent, did a very good job.
00:26:50.260 But the organizations themselves, they just weren't interested enough in the story to follow through.
00:26:57.720 You know, there's some cases in Canada like this that are so emblematic.
00:27:02.580 it reminds me of the case of Aksa Parvez, the young Muslim girl who didn't want to wear her
00:27:09.420 hijab outside the house. And the father and the mother and the brother, they were all sort of
00:27:14.600 involved in this family honor code and honor killing. And by the way, the Muslim cemeteries 0.97
00:27:24.100 would not allow Aksa Parvez's body to be buried there because she apparently dishonored Islam.
00:27:30.060 Like just a crazy story, which I think gave us a sneak preview of what was to come so many more times.
00:27:41.500 Who knows what the RCMP is doing with this?
00:27:45.020 It sounds like there was a proper prosecution of the criminal side of that shooting at Chicken Land.
00:27:52.500 But, you know, the idea that this cell is at liberty in Canada is terrifying to me because of what they've shown they could do to those who cross them.
00:28:04.620 Terrifying because ISIS is unrepentant and, you know, it's a death cult.
00:28:09.340 And I'm also worried that perhaps our RCMP and other police institutions like CSIS are being politically corrected, that they're being given Islamophobia training.
00:28:20.820 And basically, if they dare follow up on stories like this in the future, they'll be called racist and perhaps their careers will fail.
00:28:28.220 So I'm worried not only about the ISIS cell in question, but what maybe it shines a light on how our RCMP and CSIS agencies work or don't work.
00:28:40.600 That's exactly what's happening.
00:28:42.940 Somebody asked the RCMP, well, about the Chickland case.
00:28:49.020 They said, well, you know, we didn't find enough evidence to lay charges.
00:28:53.840 But then he went on, and he says, let's not call it terrorism.
00:28:57.740 Let's call these crimes by individuals and their criminal acts.
00:29:05.860 You know, not terrorism out of Islamic ideology, in other words. 0.93
00:29:10.400 It is very politically correct and very dangerous, yeah. 0.82
00:29:14.300 well do you know the citizenship status of that cell because even if there wasn't enough to
00:29:20.380 prosecute them and convict them in a court of law if they had no permanent tenure here surely they
00:29:25.820 could be just booted out for any reason or no reason do you do you know if they were canadian
00:29:30.140 citizens or or what their status was yes so the instigator the ringleader in the uh murder
00:29:36.620 attempted murder case uh came here as a child from pakistan and was a canadian citizen uh the getaway
00:29:44.620 driver same thing he came from kuwait his parents were pakistani but he was born in kuwait and he
00:29:51.580 grew up uh certainly he went to college here and was a canadian citizen and the shooter
00:29:59.180 he was actually a convert from hinduism and uh it was never it never came out in court where he was
00:30:07.580 born but it could be uh that he was born here in canada in oakville yeah well and that was five
00:30:14.020 years ago as you mentioned of course mass immigration in the last five years has literally
00:30:17.500 brought millions of people to canada the book is called chicken land named after the restaurant in
00:30:24.140 which the massacre happened the subtitle is murder in the name of Allah you can see why other
00:30:30.420 journalists are afraid to touch the subject I'd like to encourage you to go on amazon.ca and buy
00:30:37.400 a copy for yourself chicken lamb because you're not going to read this in on the CBC or the pages
00:30:42.620 of the Toronto Star last word to you John have you I saw and I was delighted to see it that the
00:30:49.780 national post excerpted a chapter from your book and that's excellent not only did more people see
00:30:55.660 it but i think it shows that uh other media are not willing to have a cone of silence on this
00:31:01.560 have you had any other interests or inquiries from what i would call them the mainstream media
00:31:07.180 not yet uh as you say the national post was very receptive uh you asked about the cbc the cbc did
00:31:15.380 a terrible thing at this trial they had somebody there every day writing for the website kind of
00:31:21.140 to cover themselves i think uh i never made it to the um to the broadcasts and in the end they were
00:31:29.820 there for the sentencing and they were there for the reasons for judgment they had a reporter from
00:31:34.260 the national there and they did not run a story well it's like the old joke they were there to
00:31:41.220 covered the story, cover it with a pillow till it stops breathing. Sounds like that's how they did.
00:31:46.120 We've been talking to John Goddard. He's the author of Chicken Land, Murder in the Name of Allah, 0.72
00:31:50.460 available now on Amazon.ca. John, thanks very much for stopping by.
00:31:54.400 Thanks, Ezra.
00:31:55.120 All right. There you have it. Stay with us. More ahead.
00:32:06.500 Hey, what do you think of that story from Moncton? I'm so glad the Justice Center
00:32:09.860 is running the legal defense for them.
00:32:11.880 But it's crazy.
00:32:12.680 I didn't, I mean, I knew that Sean Foyt
00:32:14.220 got harassed by the government and by Antifa
00:32:17.220 when he came here a couple of years ago.
00:32:19.080 We covered that story with Alexa,
00:32:20.280 but I didn't know he was invited back
00:32:22.100 and all those places banned him.
00:32:24.680 And it was sort of gross to me that they said,
00:32:26.520 well, everyone else is doing it.
00:32:28.580 That's sort of high school peer pressure rationale.
00:32:31.380 That's not what a government is bound by the charter.
00:32:34.860 And by that, I mean, they can't infringe on your rights.
00:32:37.060 It's a really crazy story.
00:32:38.660 I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
00:32:40.640 Well, that's our show for the day.
00:32:42.100 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters,
00:32:45.000 to you at home, good night.
00:32:47.140 And keep fighting for freedom.
