Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ Best of Rebel's Australia Coverage

00:00:00.000 Hello, my Rebels. Today, a Thanksgiving special, the best of our recent Australian coverage.

00:00:06.400 It's not just Avi Amini. We've got a growing team down under.

00:00:10.120 Before I get to that, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus.

00:00:14.000 You get the video version, and that is so essential for our Australian coverage

00:00:18.680 because the visual spectacle of the police state that's emerging there is something you don't want to miss.

00:00:24.960 You'll be able to understand some of it with your ears, but this really is one for your eyes.

00:00:29.520 Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe. It's $8 a month, which is a bargain, frankly.

00:00:34.520 We haven't raised that rate since we began. It's half the price of Netflix.

00:00:39.640 Anyways, check it out.

00:00:46.800 You're listening to a Rebel News Podcast.

00:00:49.220 Tonight, the best of our Australian coverage. It's August 11th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.

00:01:03.660 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:01:09.540 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:13.620 The only thing I have to say to the government, the wire publisher, is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:01:19.460 It's Thanksgiving, and traditionally, on these holidays, we run a best-of special show of compilations, some of our interesting work,

00:01:33.960 and I will show you the best of our recent Australian coverage.

00:01:37.460 But I saw a Jordan Peterson comment about the importance of Thanksgiving.

00:01:43.020 There's a lot of reasons to support Thanksgiving.

00:01:47.300 It's a holiday. It reminds us to be grateful for what we have.

00:01:51.840 We don't believe in smashing old statues or tearing down old customs, including holidays.

00:01:58.520 But he said that giving thanks is sort of a...

00:02:03.040 It inoculates you against a victim mentality because it reminds you of how good you have it.

00:02:10.020 I thought that was a good thing to keep in mind.

00:02:12.220 Anyways, that's all I have to say about Thanksgiving.

00:02:14.880 Instead, let me show you four of our best recent videos from Australia,

00:02:21.420 starting with the most hopeful thing I've seen around the world,

00:02:26.240 a blue-collar construction workers' union in the city of Melbourne

00:02:30.840 rebelling against its own union leadership for refusing to back them on vaccine exemptions.

00:02:38.320 Take a look at this.

00:02:40.720 I'm Yamini here for Rebel News in Melbourne, Australia.

00:02:44.040 We're outside the CFMEU headquarters where thousands of members are gathering

00:02:50.160 to protest the health tyranny here in Victoria.

00:02:55.080 No police, barely a couple of police is blocking the road.

00:02:58.080 No police.

00:02:59.340 I suspect they are a little bit concerned about taking on this lot.

00:03:04.440 We're here all day to bring you the exclusive story to rebelnews.com.au.

00:03:09.340 We'll tell you the other side of this story.

00:03:12.060 Watch this space.

00:03:14.040 You know where I stand.

00:03:21.160 You don't have to bring this history going.

00:03:23.840 So where are you going?

00:03:24.920 We've been there as people.

00:03:26.500 You want us to shut down?

00:03:32.080 So you want us to shut the whole news?

00:03:35.960 We can get problem.

00:03:37.700 Awesome.

00:03:51.280 What are you doing?

00:03:52.400 Stop it.

00:03:53.080 Don't get ready.

00:03:53.480 Take care.

00:03:54.120 The sec ні will. 0.96

00:03:54.660 Stay down.

00:03:55.200 Take care.

00:03:55.360 The secattendwie.

00:03:57.080 Every day, every day, every day, every day.

00:04:11.960 Ravie! Ravie! Ravie! Ravie! Ravie!

00:04:18.900 If you think this story is important, make sure to like, comment and share.

00:04:22.940 And if you are anything likes this lot that love the truth,

00:04:24.960 head over to your mini-report.com,

00:04:26.620 Give us your name and email, and we'll send you the other side of the story from the front line.

00:04:34.240 I tell you, the police began a week-long attack on anyone who looked like a construction worker.

00:04:42.020 I don't know if you've seen obvious other videos.

00:04:43.700 Literally, if you were walking down the street and had, like, a high-visibility vest on or a hard hat, police would tackle you.

00:04:51.240 Pure police state stuff, just out of control.

00:04:53.360 So, Mario Malik did this video for us from Sydney, but not just any part of Sydney, from a heavily ethnic, actually heavily Muslim part of Sydney.

00:05:05.020 I found it heartbreaking, very touching, and so have Rebel viewers.

00:05:09.800 This is the most viewed video that we have had, I think, in 2021.

00:05:16.700 I'd have to check that, but this is over a million views on all our different platforms.

00:05:20.820 Take a look.

00:05:21.980 It's intimidating.

00:05:23.360 It's scary.

00:05:25.320 They're everywhere.

00:05:26.740 They're everywhere.

00:05:28.380 Scary as there were drones, helicopters.

00:05:35.640 And when you ask them, they just say, oh, we're just maintaining public health order.

00:05:39.320 Police are setting up a road checkpoint just over here, right to the entry of the Bass Hill Shopping Centre.

00:05:49.660 So, this is the Bass Hill Plaza in Western Sydney, where police have launched an enormous operation.

00:05:55.280 Warning.

00:05:56.640 Censorship.

00:05:57.120 So, the inspector knows we're here.

00:05:58.120 So, the inspector knows we're here.

00:06:00.060 He's looking at us, and he's just calling for backup.

00:06:02.120 So, let's see how this one goes.

00:06:04.460 How are you guys?

00:06:05.460 Good morning, sir.

00:06:06.460 Good morning.

00:06:07.460 Good morning.

00:06:08.460 Where are you from, mate?

00:06:09.460 Rebel News, sir.

00:06:10.460 Okay.

00:06:11.460 Yep.

00:06:12.460 We're a Canadian media outlet.

00:06:13.460 Okay.

00:06:14.460 Yep.

00:06:15.460 You know you need to wear a mask?

00:06:16.460 Not while we're on camera.

00:06:17.460 Practically everyone who's walking into the shopping centre or driving into the shopping centre is being stopped, and it's a bizarre scene, but locals are saying that this is becoming the norm here.

00:06:32.460 Around here, lately, yeah, I think the sad reality is it's becoming the new norm, alright, and people are getting used to this, and they don't understand that this is becoming the police state.

00:06:44.460 What I've seen is f***ing chaos is what I've seen.

00:06:47.460 What is going on?

00:06:49.460 It's been very traumatic to come here, I have to say.

00:06:53.460 Turned up to about 50 police standing at the front door.

00:06:56.460 Did you know about any rallies today?

00:06:58.460 No.

00:06:59.460 Had no idea about any rally.

00:07:00.460 So, you've just come to your local shopping centre, and you're greeted with this?

00:07:04.460 Yep.

00:07:05.460 And still greeted with this.

00:07:06.460 They're inside, they're outside, they're everywhere.

00:07:08.460 Massive show of force.

00:07:10.460 And wondering why Bass Hill Plaza this morning is having this problem.

00:07:14.460 There's no indication of any violence or anything else there, but we're all wondering why as we're coming out with so many police.

00:07:21.460 So, keep fingers crossed.

00:07:23.460 Are you here to protest today?

00:07:24.460 Absolutely not.

00:07:25.460 So, as you can see behind me, every single person is being stopped.

00:07:30.460 The young, the elderly, every person is being checked by police.

00:07:38.460 You can see that the plaza is the only people here for shopping.

00:07:40.460 There's no more social life anymore.

00:07:42.460 You know what I mean?

00:07:43.460 Everything's online.

00:07:44.460 So, that's what we want, man.

00:07:46.460 The West just wants their life back.

00:07:48.460 That's all it is.

00:07:49.460 Man, I really don't understand.

00:07:50.460 Our kids are going through hard times at home.

00:07:53.460 Schooling and looking after the kids at home.

00:07:56.460 And people partying out in the eastern suburbs and carrying on like normal.

00:08:00.460 Man, they just sit at home and look at four walls all day.

00:08:03.460 So, we do go out for walks.

00:08:05.460 But what's a walk every day?

00:08:06.460 You know, kids want to go on a playground.

00:08:08.460 Kids want to do things.

00:08:09.460 We actually get it.

00:08:10.460 If you go down to Georges River, if you look at Bondi, the swings are all out.

00:08:13.460 If you go down to Georges River, they've locked up the swings.

00:08:15.460 What do you think that is?

00:08:16.460 What are they saying for what?

00:08:18.460 I mean, because of COVID, not catching COVID or anything.

00:08:20.460 But, you know, we've got masks.

00:08:22.460 We've got sanitizers.

00:08:23.460 I think it's wrong how they've got all these police here.

00:08:26.460 Like, such as my daughter.

00:08:28.460 It does scare them off.

00:08:29.460 Like, it gives them mixed messages.

00:08:31.460 So, you don't know whether to like them or hate them. 0.90

00:08:35.460 And these, you know, I'm going to call them dogs.

00:08:37.460 I used to respect the cops.

00:08:39.460 But after a couple of incidents that I've seen in front of me here,

00:08:42.460 people get treated differently on their skin colour or religion

00:08:46.460 and what areas they're, their postcodes.

00:08:48.460 They're not going to leave us alone.

00:08:50.460 We tell our kids to respect the cops and they don't even respect us, the dogs.

00:08:54.460 What do you do?

00:08:55.460 And, I mean, like, I feel that we are being targeted.

00:08:58.460 This is causing massive mental health issues to everyone.

00:09:02.460 And everyone's just exploding because they've got nowhere else to go.

00:09:07.460 Let us free.

00:09:09.460 So, there is a drone flying overhead searching the local streets and the parks around this shopping centre.

00:09:16.460 Police command is right behind us.

00:09:18.460 There is an enormous police presence here.

00:09:20.460 We've spoken to so many people who feel distressed by what's happening.

00:09:23.460 And it's going to be interesting to see how the mainstream media covers this story.

00:09:27.460 They were arresting a girl when I arrived.

00:09:30.460 Didn't even know if I can just do my plane shopping.

00:09:32.460 So, we've been looking for you.

00:09:34.460 Did they take you away?

00:09:36.460 They took my phone off me.

00:09:38.460 They took my belongings off me.

00:09:40.460 They searched me.

00:09:42.460 They arrested me.

00:09:44.460 Did some checks, whatever they did.

00:09:46.460 Only because I came to my local shopping centre.

00:09:48.460 I live down the road.

00:09:50.460 Have they fined you for anything?

00:09:51.460 Yes.

00:09:52.460 What for?

00:09:53.460 Yes, I do.

00:09:54.460 Which they've checked upon entering.

00:09:55.460 This isn't governing anymore.

00:09:56.460 It's a dystopia.

00:09:57.460 I'm a second-class citizen.

00:09:58.460 No matter how educated I am.

00:09:59.460 No matter how much taxes I pay.

00:10:00.460 No matter what I do.

00:10:01.460 I have a clean record.

00:10:02.460 I have a...

00:10:03.460 It's intimidating.

00:10:04.460 It's constant anxiety.

00:10:05.460 It's...

00:10:06.460 I mean, you know, you can't govern with fear-mongering.

00:10:09.460 It's...

00:10:10.460 I mean, you know, you can't govern with fear-mongering.

00:10:22.460 History has shown that you can't do so.

00:10:25.460 I've just started a plumbing company and I'm fresh to the company.

00:10:28.460 I've just got my contractor's licence, which makes me legible to start a company and start working.

00:10:33.460 As soon as I've started to advertise and distribute, lockdowns came in.

00:10:37.460 We can't go nowhere.

00:10:38.460 Can't come nowhere.

00:10:39.460 I've got to pay rent.

00:10:40.460 I've got free kids.

00:10:41.460 Like, I'm really impacted.

00:10:44.460 I've got, you know, repayments on vehicles, regos.

00:10:47.460 I've lost a big income.

00:10:49.460 I'm now on a business grant from the government.

00:10:51.460 But what's that do?

00:10:52.460 Pay my rent?

00:10:53.460 And feed my kids? 0.55

00:10:54.460 That's all it does?

00:10:55.460 We can't even, like, buy clothes, put shoes on us.

00:10:58.460 We can't even enjoy our life anymore.

00:11:00.460 So you said that you're a nurse.

00:11:02.460 How long have you been a nurse for?

00:11:03.460 And if you can tell us.

00:11:04.460 Some years.

00:11:05.460 Some years.

00:11:06.460 Many years.

00:11:07.460 Yeah.

00:11:08.460 So I was stood down the other day and it's just outrageous.

00:11:13.460 And why were you stood down?

00:11:15.460 Because I wouldn't take the vaccine.

00:11:18.460 That's exactly why.

00:11:19.460 It's just not on.

00:11:21.460 It just can't happen.

00:11:22.460 It just can't happen.

00:11:24.460 I'm very upset about it.

00:11:25.460 As I said to patients, we don't walk up to them and just give them an injection.

00:11:30.460 We say, hey, Mrs Jones, we'll give this injection to you. 1.00

00:11:33.460 Yeah, we do that.

00:11:34.460 We do your blood pressure.

00:11:36.460 If they don't want a blood pressure done, if they don't want an injection done or a tablet,

00:11:41.460 we write refused.

00:11:42.460 And that's it.

00:11:43.460 It's divided us.

00:11:46.460 I don't feel like I'm Australian.

00:11:49.460 I honestly don't feel like I'm Australian, you know, regardless of who you are.

00:11:55.460 I'm a second class citizen only because I come from a certain demographic, a certain area.

00:12:03.460 And yeah, if I lived east or north, I think things would be different.

00:12:09.460 But this is what it is.

00:12:11.460 How do you think it's affected the community here?

00:12:14.460 Because we've been greeted with an incredible reception, people giving us free food, free coffee.

00:12:19.460 It's actually a really loving community.

00:12:23.460 How do you feel it's affecting you guys?

00:12:25.460 This community can't go wrong.

00:12:27.460 If someone's broken down, there's always a car stopping to help.

00:12:30.460 If there's a flat tyre, there's always someone stopping to help.

00:12:33.460 So that's the best thing about the West.

00:12:36.460 It never stops working.

00:12:37.460 It keeps going.

00:12:38.460 I don't see why the police have to come out in such numbers just to stop people from voicing their concerns over what is clearly a regime of tyranny.

00:12:49.460 You can't even go to the supermarket and get a bottle of water and this is what happens.

00:12:54.460 So as far as I'm concerned, Australia is dead and buried if this regime continues.

00:12:59.460 And people need to really stand up and say no.

00:13:02.460 Because this is not on.

00:13:03.460 And I won't tolerate it and no one else should either.

00:13:06.460 Okay, so right now this elderly couple are being stopped and they're being told that they can't actually have two people in the vehicle.

00:13:26.460 But they seem like an elderly couple who is visibly distressed by what's going on.

00:13:31.460 So these are the stories that need to be heard out of Sydney and out of southwestern Sydney.

00:13:34.460 If you want to continue helping us doing the work that we do, please head over to sydneyreporters.com and give what you can.

00:13:39.460 So we can keep telling you the other side of the story.

00:13:43.460 How are you sir?

00:13:44.460 You got some mask?

00:13:45.460 Sorry?

00:13:46.460 You got some mask?

00:13:47.460 Mr. Steve Padden told us, sir, obviously we don't have to because we're journalists.

00:13:49.460 We're on camera.

00:13:50.460 So as long as we're on camera, we don't have to wear a mask.

00:13:52.460 And you can speak to Mr. Steve Padden on the outside.

00:13:54.460 Yeah, you are here.

00:13:55.460 I do, sir.

00:13:56.460 Mr. Steve Padden has already checked it.

00:13:57.460 Yeah.

00:13:58.460 I think it's like Steve Padden.

00:13:59.460 We'd be fine.

00:14:00.460 They're on media.

00:14:01.460 They know what to get out.

00:14:03.460 We've already spoken with Steve Padden and he knows that we're here.

00:14:06.460 So you guys can check in with him.

00:14:08.460 Are you getting attention?

00:14:09.460 Me?

00:14:10.460 I'm on camera.

00:14:11.460 I'm working, sir.

00:14:12.460 Oh, okay.

00:14:13.460 Yeah, we're done.

00:14:14.460 Yeah, alright.

00:14:15.460 Thanks, guys.

00:14:16.460 Have you bought anything that's demanded this type of police attention?

00:14:20.460 No, I haven't.

00:14:21.460 You sure?

00:14:22.460 Is there anything inside the bag?

00:14:23.460 No.

00:14:24.460 No.

00:14:25.460 No.

00:14:26.460 Come down to Mathemat Law.

00:14:28.460 Has this affected your business today?

00:14:30.460 Yeah, yeah.

00:14:31.460 Yeah, it has.

00:14:32.460 Oh, no worries, buddy.

00:14:34.460 Anyway, what else do you want to know, man?

00:14:36.460 I reckon this is on the show.

00:14:37.460 You went shopping today?

00:14:38.460 Yeah.

00:14:39.460 And you've been stopped about...

00:14:40.460 Ten times.

00:14:41.460 Ten times.

00:14:42.460 Why?

00:14:43.460 I don't know, mate.

00:14:44.460 Maybe because I'm good looking.

00:14:45.460 So, how's it affected your business today?

00:14:47.460 Oh, yeah.

00:14:48.460 All of this police in front of my shop.

00:14:49.460 No more customers.

00:14:50.460 I need more customers.

00:14:51.460 If he's want to come in, buy one meat and cheese, get a free can of coke.

00:14:54.460 If you want to come down, ask for Joe.

00:14:58.460 We're doing the investigation.

00:14:59.460 Sorry, guys.

00:15:00.460 If you just wait for a moment.

00:15:01.460 Can you tell us what's in the cup?

00:15:02.460 It's a bit of water.

00:15:03.460 It's a bit of water.

00:15:04.460 With what?

00:15:05.460 MDMA.

00:15:06.460 Cut.

00:15:07.460 Cut.

00:15:08.460 Not really a cup, but I think we should search this plan.

00:15:10.460 Alright.

00:15:11.460 We're going to get back to work.

00:15:13.460 Well, we're not just in Sydney and Melbourne.

00:15:16.460 We've got a great young team in Brisbane.

00:15:19.460 Can you believe it?

00:15:20.460 I mean, we've got a super big team in Canada now, as you know.

00:15:23.460 We just hired Kelly Lamb in Saskatchewan.

00:15:25.460 I think that brings us to 18 reporters in Canada.

00:15:29.460 But we're growing in Australia, too.

00:15:31.460 There's so much demand for the other side of the story.

00:15:34.460 Here's our Brisbane team in the state of Queensland.

00:15:37.460 Anything that's happening at the moment?

00:15:41.460 A lot more police presence than last time.

00:15:44.460 Freedom and hope.

00:15:47.460 Well, it's for them.

00:15:50.460 The children.

00:15:52.460 Rebel, we love you.

00:15:55.460 Right, so we should find another way home.

00:15:58.460 Hey guys, this is Yasmin from Rebel News, Brisbane, Australia.

00:16:08.460 As you can see, this march is absolutely incredible today.

00:16:11.460 To keep on showing the other side of the story, we need your support.

00:16:15.460 So please go to BrisbaneReporters.com and donate now.

00:16:19.460 Because you wouldn't want to miss this.

00:16:23.460 I'm at the end now.

00:16:24.460 They're at the beginning, you know.

00:16:26.460 That's what it's all about, isn't it?

00:16:28.460 Yeah, that's exactly what it's about.

00:16:30.460 These little ones.

00:16:34.460 The future of these ones we need to look out for.

00:16:36.460 So I had to come to this one.

00:16:38.460 I've been to all the others.

00:16:40.460 That's awesome.

00:16:41.460 How many have you been to?

00:16:43.460 Oh, since 2020.

00:16:45.460 And now just comes a time that they're creating a divide.

00:16:48.460 Divide and conquer. 0.98

00:16:49.460 Do you know whether they're vax or no vax?

00:16:51.460 And it's very simple.

00:16:52.460 There's a choice whether they take the antivirus or not.

00:16:56.460 Right?

00:16:57.460 The people that take it, right, they can do what they like.

00:17:01.460 But the people that don't take it, it's their choice.

00:17:03.460 They have to suffer the consequences if they do get it.

00:17:09.460 There is no. 0.99

00:17:10.460 People aren't stupid anymore. 0.98

00:17:11.460 You've educated people. 0.99

00:17:12.460 So this is the future.

00:17:14.460 And we should all be proud of it and we should stand under it,

00:17:17.460 stand together and fight for it.

00:17:19.460 And let the very spirit flow through you all.

00:17:22.460 The rebel news, I'm a bit of a supporter of the army,

00:17:28.460 so it's good to see you.

00:17:29.460 Get real news.

00:17:30.460 Yes.

00:17:31.460 You're the only news I listen to.

00:17:34.460 There are some people and our leaders are showing them

00:17:37.460 that it's okay to do that.

00:17:39.460 If the seven news came after me,

00:17:41.460 the only thing I would say is...

00:17:42.460 Rebel news are the best. 1.00

00:17:43.460 So then they can't do shit. 0.97

00:17:44.460 Yeah, so what does your umbrella say? 0.91

00:17:47.460 A bit of everything, actually.

00:17:49.460 We've got some Trump ones.

00:17:51.460 Mainstream media equals fake news.

00:17:54.460 What's that one?

00:17:55.460 World in crisis.

00:17:56.460 Peace, love and unity.

00:17:58.460 Leave our children alone.

00:18:00.460 Our body, our choice.

00:18:02.460 If not now, when?

00:18:04.460 And free Monica Smith. 0.99

00:18:05.460 You know, there's quite a few people here

00:18:07.460 that are just here because of the mandate and the choice thing

00:18:10.460 and that's the only reason we're here.

00:18:12.460 We need a movement.

00:18:14.460 Lockdown.

00:18:18.460 I'm glad for so many people standing up today.

00:18:20.460 It's a real, real good one.

00:18:23.460 Saying what we're doing is starting to cause

00:18:25.460 a little bit of anxiety for these guys behind the desk

00:18:28.460 and they just have to keep doing what they're doing.

00:18:34.460 Her partner did this shirt for me last night.

00:18:36.460 But yeah, it's for my deaf rights generally.

00:18:40.460 Thank you so much.

00:18:41.460 How did I do it for my first one?

00:18:43.460 Amazing.

00:18:44.460 You did like show everything that needed to be showed

00:18:46.460 in the best flexible way and showed the real message.

00:18:49.460 Thank you.

00:18:50.460 You've got to rise above it.

00:18:52.460 Keep your mind healthy.

00:18:53.460 It's a mental war.

00:19:04.460 I'm disgusted in our government. 0.99

00:19:05.460 I've taken orders all my friggin' life 0.98

00:19:07.460 and to see people put in jail for incitement,

00:19:10.460 for protesting or speaking out against what's happening,

00:19:14.460 it disgusts me.

00:19:15.460 Australia stand proud, stand as one.

00:19:18.460 We are one, we are many.

00:19:19.460 Stand up for freedom, otherwise we'll lose it all.

00:19:22.460 I believe everybody has the right choice.

00:19:27.460 I stand for our kids, man.

00:19:28.460 I stand for the future generations and their freedoms.

00:19:31.460 They don't let us work, but they still expect the rent.

00:19:34.460 They can buy our hands off our children, I say.

00:19:36.460 No newspapers, no TV, no radio.

00:19:39.460 This energy is incredible.

00:19:41.460 Go Arbony, go Jodie.

00:19:43.460 And the People's Revolution March has shut it down.

00:19:46.460 There must be 25,000 people here from the top

00:19:50.460 all the way up to the bottom of Queen Street Mall.

00:20:02.460 I haven't spoken to such a large audience ever.

00:20:04.460 Lockdown, anti our government.

00:20:07.460 People need to be informed of what they're doing,

00:20:10.460 how they're doing it, you know.

00:20:11.460 There's not enough information out there.

00:20:13.460 People have a right to protest what they believe.

00:20:15.460 They have a free choice.

00:20:17.460 They're going straight down the gurgle.

00:20:19.460 Brisbane has done Australia proud.

00:20:24.460 As you can see today, an incredible march of 25,000 people.

00:20:30.460 We had children, grandmothers, tradies, nurses.

00:20:35.460 Everyone's fighting for their freedom here today.

00:20:38.460 But in order to keep giving you the other side of the story,

00:20:41.460 we need your support.

00:20:42.460 So please go to BrisbaneReporters.com and donate now.

00:20:45.460 Because you don't want to miss these stories.

00:20:48.460 This is a mark in history.

00:20:50.460 A lot of power in the march today. A lot of power.

00:20:53.460 Well, of course, the star of our Australia contingent

00:20:57.460 is our chief Australia correspondent, Avi Yamini,

00:21:01.460 who's got a great sense of humor, very smart, high energy.

00:21:05.460 He's very quick on his feet.

00:21:07.460 And he needs all that because the police,

00:21:10.460 well, they do everything they can to shut him up.

00:21:13.460 He knows the law better than they do.

00:21:16.460 And we provide, Avi, as you know, with insurance, with bodyguards, and with lawyers.

00:21:24.460 And in this video, you'll see two out of those three supports manifest themselves.

00:21:30.460 Avi is an outstanding journalist, and it is my honor to be able to provide him

00:21:35.460 with the protection he needs in the form of lawyers, insurance, and bodyguards

00:21:39.460 to do world-class journalism.

00:21:41.460 This is an incredible video. Take a look.

00:21:44.460 Well, I'm here to discuss your right to be here.

00:21:47.460 I appreciate that you're reporting on behalf of the media,

00:21:50.460 but there is criteria that has to be met for people to be in the city today.

00:21:53.460 Yep.

00:21:54.460 Do you have a worker's permit?

00:21:55.460 Absolutely, mate. Third time's a charm.

00:21:57.460 How many times are you guys going to...

00:21:59.460 Can you send a message out once I show you it, that I've showed it three times, and we're good?

00:22:02.460 Thank you.

00:22:03.460 Do your off-siders like those as well?

00:22:05.460 You know what? We do well at Rebel News.

00:22:07.460 Cover yourself.

00:22:08.460 We're just going to record them.

00:22:12.460 You're going to record my details? Mate, you and I both know my details.

00:22:15.460 You probably know my details better than I know my details.

00:22:17.460 These people don't.

00:22:18.460 Yeah, we've done that. We did that.

00:22:21.460 Oh, you got it all? There you go.

00:22:23.460 Yeah, these guys are all right. You should keep them.

00:22:25.460 Is that this gentleman's?

00:22:26.460 Uh, is that your one? Did you give me that one?

00:22:28.460 Yeah.

00:22:29.460 Yeah, yeah.

00:22:30.460 You see, this is all right. We don't mind.

00:22:33.460 When they come up respectfully and check your papers like they did in Nazi Germany, we're cool with that. 0.87

00:22:40.460 It's just when they unlawfully arrest and assault us and our staff, that's when there's a problem.

00:22:50.460 Can I just take a look at yours again, Harvey? Sorry.

00:22:52.460 We just need to have a look. This one seems to be expired.

00:22:54.460 Thank you.

00:22:55.460 Your new security.

00:22:57.460 What has it passed your date?

00:22:59.460 Oh, I thought it was 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, is my understanding.

00:23:04.460 So just ask, call the security company, tell them to send you a new one now.

00:23:07.460 Yeah, I need to just get a new one sent out, but I thought it was...

00:23:13.460 Yours doesn't have a roster or schedule of workers.

00:23:15.460 No, it says all weeks. That's ongoing, all weeks.

00:23:19.460 Do you want me to tick it? It's me that signs it.

00:23:24.460 Well, it is me that signs it.

00:23:26.460 That's just masks rules, just in case, because I've noticed some of your officers need the education.

00:23:31.460 I reckon I should be giving classes at Vic Pol Academy.

00:23:35.460 I'm willing to donate my time.

00:23:38.460 Too kind. Give us a moment.

00:23:42.460 All weeks, he said I've got to just tick that box, but it's all weeks those times.

00:23:46.460 Yeah.

00:23:47.460 So I've just got to... Have you got a pen? I'm the one that filled that for him.

00:23:49.460 I'm happy to tick that for him.

00:23:51.460 Okay. You do that for me.

00:23:53.460 Listen, these paperwork, it gets very confusing.

00:23:56.460 Paperwork's all our job.

00:23:58.460 No, it isn't. These days it's also arresting, unarmed.

00:24:02.460 Come on.

00:24:04.460 I'm good to see... I'm happy to see you guys without any rubber bullet guns here.

00:24:08.460 I'll take your pen signing and charge with theft.

00:24:11.460 I don't have it to answer.

00:24:13.460 You're alright, I like you.

00:24:15.460 This is the ludicracy of it all.

00:24:17.460 They know exactly why I'm here.

00:24:19.460 They know it's legitimate purpose.

00:24:21.460 What they're checking out is if there's a technicality on the paperwork, can it be fixed?

00:24:30.460 Anyways, I'll call the lawyer because we might as well get that sorted now.

00:24:33.460 You've got a lawyer working on a server, eh?

00:24:35.460 Well, you know, you guys are funny, so I need a lawyer 24-7 with you guys.

00:24:40.460 They like to play those old tricks, finding those technicalities.

00:24:44.460 They're sipping lattes right now, isn't they?

00:24:46.460 How you doing, Madeline?

00:24:47.460 The police here are so surprised that they have a lawyer on standby on a Saturday.

00:24:52.460 They're impressed.

00:24:53.460 My lawyer's on the phone, she just wants to know what's the issue with that one.

00:24:56.460 We just need to confirm that they're all valid.

00:24:58.460 They seem to be incomplete to me.

00:25:00.460 So we're just getting someone down here who's aware of these

00:25:02.460 and how they need to be filled in to check them out.

00:25:04.460 And then once that's done, we'll be able to confirm.

00:25:06.460 So you're saying to me, you're so confused by these permits

00:25:09.460 that you don't know how it works.

00:25:10.460 Just getting someone down to confirm it all.

00:25:12.460 And we're expected to fill them out.

00:25:14.460 He's got to get an expert.

00:25:16.460 Did you hear that, Madeline?

00:25:17.460 She advises that basically, if you believe it's legit

00:25:20.460 and there's a problem with the way we filled it out,

00:25:22.460 we're happy to fill it, fix it.

00:25:25.460 You guys good?

00:25:26.460 Yeah, mine's good.

00:25:27.460 Oh, that was good the whole time.

00:25:28.460 So they just mucked with you.

00:25:30.460 All right.

00:25:31.460 No worries.

00:25:32.460 Daniel's was actually kosher.

00:25:33.460 It was...

00:25:34.460 I think the academy needs some training on these papers.

00:25:39.460 I think we might need to educate them.

00:25:41.460 I offered my services.

00:25:42.460 Anyways, I'll speak to you.

00:25:43.460 Bye.

00:25:47.460 So yours was cool.

00:25:48.460 Yeah, mine's good.

00:25:49.460 I think mine's fine as well.

00:25:50.460 I just got to tick that box.

00:25:51.460 Do you want me to tick that box?

00:25:52.460 I counted mine correctly.

00:25:55.460 Big man.

00:25:56.460 I'm happy to tick that box and then it's complete.

00:26:00.460 It's just fine.

00:26:01.460 Look, they've called in a specialist in their specialist vehicle,

00:26:05.460 unmarked police vehicle, to make sure that our paperwork is kosher.

00:26:09.460 This is because science.

00:26:13.460 The science says that if your permit isn't ticked in the right box,

00:26:19.460 things can get deadly.

00:26:20.460 They're really trying hard to invalidate those permits.

00:26:24.460 How are you going, officer?

00:26:25.460 Good.

00:26:26.460 Boss?

00:26:27.460 So they're satisfied with that, so that's fine.

00:26:28.460 They're satisfied?

00:26:29.460 Oh.

00:26:30.460 Okay.

00:26:31.460 So there's your workers' permits.

00:26:32.460 You know, for my own reference, which specialist division made sure that this is kosher?

00:26:37.460 So I can speak to the next person who stops me.

00:26:39.460 Yeah, it's from our prosecutions, our legal people.

00:26:41.460 Oh, the legal?

00:26:42.460 Oh, they know me well.

00:26:43.460 We're on first name basis.

00:26:44.460 So you got your workers' permit.

00:26:45.460 You're free to go.

00:26:46.460 That's fine.

00:26:47.460 Obviously, you know not to get in our way if things do get out.

00:26:50.460 We know that better than anyone.

00:26:51.460 Thanks, Harvey.

00:26:52.460 Have a good day.

00:26:53.460 No worries.

00:26:54.460 So that took 20 minutes for the police to verify and validate that our workers' permit

00:26:57.460 are legit, even though they know exactly what we're doing here.

00:27:00.460 They have to call the specialist legal department of Victoria Police to confirm it.

00:27:04.460 I have a feeling it was really just to hold us up so we can't get to doing our job.

00:27:09.460 Maybe we should charge them with hindering a journalist.

00:27:12.460 But here we go.

00:27:13.460 We're going to continue our work.

00:27:15.460 Let's go to the protest.

00:27:20.460 You know, the saddest thing from this whole story is that I've become most immune to this

00:27:27.460 COVID crazy enforcement.

00:27:30.460 To me, that whole interaction is an everyday occurrence.

00:27:34.460 But the fact that a journalist in 2021 in a so-called free and democratic country has

00:27:41.460 to walk around and show his papers, papers that, by the way, police don't even know how

00:27:46.460 they fill out properly themselves and that police can then detain him for, I think it

00:27:51.460 was about 20 minutes, stopping me from doing my job.

00:27:55.460 That is unacceptable and the world needs to see it.

00:27:58.460 So please, share this story far and wide.

00:28:01.460 Let the world know what's happening in Melbourne, Australia.

00:28:04.460 If you want to get behind one of our fights, well, Daniel, our security guard, not long ago,

00:28:08.460 was arrested doing his job.

00:28:10.460 Not that day.

00:28:11.460 After we filed in the Supreme Court.

00:28:13.460 But if you want to help us fight back, go to StandWithDaniel.com.

00:28:17.460 You can see the full story there.

00:28:19.460 And you can chip in a few bucks to help us with that Supreme Court case.

00:28:23.460 Well, that's our show for today.

00:28:25.460 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home,

00:28:29.460 good night.

00:28:30.460 And keep fighting for freedom.

00:28:32.460 Very nice to have loved you.

00:28:42.460 You can find out who you are.

00:28:43.460 We you can find out who you are.

00:28:46.460 In the South Africa remain, come to our banks. 1.00

00:28:48.460 We save hundreds of89 updates.

00:28:50.460 We're out of 241 at that Cape Town.

00:28:52.460 We have.

00:28:54.460 We have enough money to save money.
