00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. I don't know if you caught this in the news, but the so-called state of
00:00:04.560 Palestine, and I call it so-called because Mark Carney says he recognizes it, but Carney said
00:00:09.560 he only recognizes it if it agrees to do things like disarm and hold elections. Well, today
00:00:14.980 they announced they're canceling elections. Does that mean Carney's support for Palestine is
00:00:20.820 canceled too? I'll take you through it. But first, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel

00:00:51.060 Tonight, Mark Carney's State of Palestine just canceled the election that was supposed
00:00:56.480 to be the price of Canada recognizing him.
00:00:58.760 It's October 9th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:04.420 Shame on you, you censorious bug.
00:01:16.540 Hey, remember the deal?
00:01:18.440 July 30th of last year, Mark Carney stood up and announced that Canada would recognize
00:01:23.340 a state of Palestine.
00:01:25.680 And it was pretty clear this wasn't a freebie.
00:01:28.100 there were conditions he said here's the official statement from the prime minister's office
00:01:33.200 read it with me quote to hold general elections in 2026 in which Hamas can play no part
00:01:41.160 those are his words September 21st 2025 he went ahead and did it same words again
00:01:48.900 general elections in 2026 Hamas can play no part and here's what's interesting to me 17 days ago
00:01:56.040 at the UN. Carney was still bragging about that. He said, quote, Canada welcomes the progress on
00:02:01.760 these reforms, including the scheduling of legislative council elections this fall.
00:02:06.840 He even promised to pay for them. Quote, we will work with others, including financially,
00:02:11.240 to prepare for the election. So it's just 17 days ago. Well, today, Reuters reports that the
00:02:18.020 Palestinian vice president, a man named Hussein al-Sheikh, wrote to the French foreign minister,
00:02:23.200 letter dated yesterday. The election scheduled for November 28th is, well, it's off. Quote,
00:02:30.460 postponed for several months. I'm sure. Palestinian media say it slides into 2027. I think more like
00:02:37.760 2037 or 2057. So the condition's gone, by the way. So what now? What now for Mark Carney? Do you
00:02:46.880 unrecognize Palestine? Of course not. It wasn't really about foreign policy, was it? It was about
00:02:53.040 the growing demographics of Muslim voters and other anti-Semitic voters in Canada. 1.00
00:02:58.560 The recognition was the point. The conditions were just a fig leaf to get away with it.
00:03:03.040 The whole point is that Mark Carney can campaign as the only political choice for the
00:03:08.540 millions of people from anti-Semitic countries being led into our country.
00:03:12.520 Let me give you a little bit of history because I think the media won't.
00:03:14.700 The last Palestinian legislative election was in January of 2006. Hamas won it.
00:03:22.220 And the last presidential election was January 2005. Mahmoud Abbas was elected to a four-year
00:03:28.620 term. So he's 90 years old. He's into the 22nd year of his four-year term. He dissolved parliament
00:03:35.220 in 2018. He rules by decree. There's something called Freedom House. It's an NGO, no friend of
00:03:40.820 Israel. They rate the West Bank under Abbas as simply not free. Score of 22 out of 100 on the
00:03:47.940 Freedom Index. That's the Democratic partner Mark Carney recognized. And by the way, Carney says the
00:03:53.640 whole thing rested on commitments that Abbas made to him in a letter. Okay, well, the Canadian press
00:03:59.580 asked to see that letter, and the Privy Council office refuses to release it. It's a secret
00:04:06.560 letter? So Mark Carney recognized a terrorist state on the strength of a secret letter that
00:04:12.280 he won't let Canadians see. Now, why can't they hold an election? Well, the vice president's
00:04:19.000 letter says, quote, conditions worsened. Let me translate into plain English. Hamas is still
00:04:24.320 armed. Reuters this week says Hamas remains armed. Hamas still runs every square inch of Gaza that
00:04:31.600 the Israeli army doesn't. The so-called technocratic committee that was supposed to rebuild Gaza and 0.62
00:04:36.900 govern Gaza. It has not set foot in Gaza. The international stabilization force has not been
00:04:42.980 assembled. Not one soldier. It's just not happening. And if he did hold an election, by the way, the
00:04:49.900 leading Palestinian pollster, PCPSR, asked Palestinians last fall whether Hamas's decision
00:04:56.180 to attack and massacre Jews on October 7th was correct. 53% said yes. In the West Bank, Abbas's 0.55
00:05:03.480 own turf. It was 59%. 70% of Palestinians oppose disarming Hamas. And the front runner for the 0.87
00:05:13.380 president, his name is Marwan Barghouti. 54% support he's serving five life sentences in an
00:05:20.460 Israeli prison for murder. Here's what I really want you to see tonight, though. Nothing has
00:05:25.880 changed on the Palestinian side. Nothing. And there's a reason for that. There's a number of
00:05:30.340 reasons. But one reason is a machine called UNRWA, the UN Relief and Works Agency for
00:05:38.300 Palestine Refugees, UNRWA. Founded in 1949, set up for about 750,000 people who were displaced
00:05:45.220 in the 1948 war. Israel was born. The United Nations created a country for the Jews.
00:05:52.900 Immediately, it was attacked by all of its neighbors. Miraculously, Israel won. So 750,000 1.00
00:05:59.020 people were displaced so it was a temporary relief job 77 years ago now do the math almost nobody who
00:06:07.020 was a refugee from anything in 1948 is still alive a refugee in 1948 who was 20 years old at the time
00:06:13.220 would be 98 today so the agency you would think it would be winding down right well it's bigger
00:06:19.920 than ever nearly six million registered refugees because unruwa counts the children and the
00:06:26.640 grandchildren and the great-grandchildren forever. No other refugees on earth get that. The UN's own 0.94
00:06:32.280 main refugee agency called the UN High Commission on Refugees, they don't do it that way. You don't
00:06:39.020 inherit refugee status like a family heirloom. Either you're a refugee or you're not. 77 years 0.99
00:06:46.660 later, you're not. But UNRWA has nearly 30,000 staff. The UN agency that handles all other
00:06:55.860 refugees on the planet, 43 million of them, has just 20,000 staff. Let me say that again.
00:07:02.240 The Palestinian refugee agency has more staff than all other refugee agencies combined.
00:07:09.620 They have one employee for every 200 refugees. The rest of the world's refugees get one for 0.99
00:07:14.620 every 2,000. Think about that ratio. But what do those 30,000 staff do? One of the big things they
00:07:20.820 do is run the schools. And what do the schools teach? Well, the European Union actually paid
00:07:26.740 for a study of the Palestinian curriculum. It found a textbook that in the EU's own words,
00:07:31.260 can clearly be characterized as anti-Semitic, maps with no Israel on them, violence taught
00:07:37.200 as heroic. And that was back in 2021. This past July, a new review found Anrua had completed
00:07:43.360 only two of its 19 promised fixes, just two.
00:07:48.240 Then there's the October 7th massacre itself.
00:07:50.740 The UN's own internal investigators looked at Anrua's staff.
00:07:54.640 Nine of them, the UN concluded, actually took part in the massacre.
00:07:59.040 And hundreds celebrated it.
00:08:01.240 There was a case of an 84-year-old Israeli woman, Ditsa Haman, 0.55
00:08:05.160 who was kidnapped and held for 48 days in the attic of an Anrua teacher.
00:08:11.540 The Israeli army says it found a Hamas data center,
00:08:14.700 servers, batteries, the works in a tunnel
00:08:16.820 right underneath Unruh's Gaza headquarters.
00:08:20.060 Unruh's answers, quote,
00:08:21.700 they did not know what is under their own building.
00:08:25.080 Rockets stored in Unruh schools,
00:08:27.080 not once, three times actually in one month,
00:08:30.280 back in 2014 by Unruh's own admission.
00:08:33.740 And when they found the first batch,
00:08:35.140 who did they hand them over to?
00:08:36.280 The local authorities. 0.96
00:08:37.520 That means Hamas. 0.97
00:08:38.740 They handed them back to Hamas. 0.81
00:08:41.060 This is not a relief agency. 0.96
00:08:42.840 It is a perpetual grievance machine. 1.00
00:08:45.580 But worse than just that, it's teaching young Palestinian kids to hate and kill Jews. 0.99
00:08:51.740 Its entire business model is that the refugees never stop being refugees and the kids never stop being taught to hate. 0.99
00:08:57.540 And the Gaza never stops being a base for the war against Israel.
00:09:00.420 If the problem were ever solved, 30,000 UN bureaucrats would be out of a job.
00:09:04.180 And when 16 countries froze their money to UNRWA after October 7th, who was among the first to turn the tap back on?
00:09:12.120 Well, Canada. March of 2024, before the UN investigation was even finished.
00:09:17.940 Up to $100 million over four years.
00:09:21.040 And in the leaders' debate, Carney was asked point blank if he'd keep paying UNRWA, and he said yeah.
00:09:26.580 On the subject of Palestinians and international aid, would you continue to fund UNRWA?
00:09:32.620 Yes. 1.00
00:09:34.180 We are in a situation where we need to have an immediate ceasefire.
00:09:40.380 We need to have all the hostages returned, and we need to resume humanitarian aid to Gaza.
00:09:47.480 And at this time, we have $100 million from the government of Canada
00:09:51.700 that is ready to be provided in humanitarian aid to Gaza with organizations that are working there.
00:10:00.620 And that's key.
00:10:01.980 And I agree with Mr. Singh. 0.86
00:10:05.700 And the West Bank would be the same. 0.88
00:10:07.240 Same school, same UNRWA, same pay for slave program.
00:10:10.380 That's where the Palestinian Authority pays a salary to the families of terrorists.
00:10:15.880 Abbas signed a decree abolishing it last year, but an audit found they kept paying it anyway.
00:10:20.360 So about 105 million U.S. dollars under the old system in the 10 months after it was abolished.
00:10:26.980 The American State Department says the reform has not been implemented.
00:10:30.720 That is the state Carney recognized.
00:10:33.840 Promise an election, cancel the election, promise to disarm, stay armed, promise to stop paying terrorists, keep paying terrorists.
00:10:42.020 And Canada says, welcome to the family of nations.
00:10:44.120 We recognize your sovereignty.
00:10:46.620 Our closest ally, at least I think they're our closest ally, the United States begged Carney not to do this.
00:10:52.220 Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, said, quote, we warned them that we thought that was counterproductive.
00:10:57.940 the White House said recognizing Palestine, quote, is a reward to Hamas. By the way, who's
00:11:03.580 been pushing Palestinian statehood the hardest at the UN? China and Russia. China hosted Hamas in
00:11:10.760 Beijing and got it to sign a unity declaration with Fatah. That's the other Palestinian terrorist 1.00
00:11:15.820 group. Russia hosted Hamas in Moscow three weeks after October 7th, while the bodies were still
00:11:21.320 being identified. When the Americans say no and Beijing and Moscow say yes, and Canada picks
00:11:27.480 beijing and moscow that's something that should worry us as much as our support for terrorists
00:11:31.980 why hasn't carney been challenged on this he said it was a condition
00:11:36.020 well look the media agree with him the cbc reported carney's conditions as if they were real
00:11:42.380 has anyone at the cbc gone back and asked him about the elections that were just scrubbed i'll
00:11:47.880 let you know if they ever do carney has a slogan for his foreign policy he gave a whole speech on
00:11:53.140 it in Davos. He called it principled and pragmatic. So let's take him in his word.
00:11:59.280 Principled, yeah. The principle is the woke Marxist set of principles. The world is divided
00:12:04.020 into oppressors and the oppressed. Israel is the oppressor in his worldview. So whatever the 0.86
00:12:09.060 Palestinians do, cancel elections, rockets in schools, salaries for murderers, it's just 0.97
00:12:15.260 resistance. And whatever Israel does is called oppression. Once you believe that woke view of
00:12:22.720 race, facts don't matter anymore, do they? An election delayed is just another thing the
00:12:27.580 oppressor made them do. And the pragmatic part? That's where the votes are. In Canada, I mean,
00:12:33.880 and the energy and the money. Mississauga is now, what, 20% Muslim? Celebration Square has been 1.00
00:12:38.860 filled with Palestinian flags cheering for Hamas more than once. There are votes in liberal ridings
00:12:45.060 and Mark Carney knows their value.
00:12:47.900 He can count.
00:12:48.600 There's what, two, two and a half million Muslims
00:12:50.260 in Canada now, about 400,000 Jews.
00:12:53.100 You know which side he's on. 0.74
00:12:54.900 Oh, and then there's the money. 0.90
00:12:56.620 Qatar is the banker of Hamas.
00:12:59.020 The Hamas leadership lives in Doha, Qatar.
00:13:01.680 Qatar sent about $30 million a month into Gaza,
00:13:04.980 more than a billion dollars over the years.
00:13:06.700 And here at home, the Canada Revenue Agency
00:13:08.620 audited one of the biggest Muslim charities
00:13:10.940 in the country and raised concerns
00:13:12.180 about what it called, quote,
00:13:13.300 an apparent Hamas support network. And noted the charity has received money from the Qatar charity.
00:13:19.440 That's the CRA's phrase, not mine. Money from Qatar, votes in Mississauga, praise from Beijing,
00:13:27.420 a middle finger to Washington, and a state that just told the world that it can't be bothered to
00:13:31.260 hold an election. So here's where I'll leave it. I mean, Mark Carney told you there were conditions.
00:13:35.940 He told you Hamas could play no part in this. He told you there'd be an election in 2026 tonight.
00:13:40.480 every one of those conditions is dead and he's still recognizing Palestine. He's not going to 0.88
00:13:47.020 take it back. He's not even going to be asked to take it back. So the next time Mark Carney tells
00:13:51.600 you his word is his bond, whether it's on a pipeline or a budget, well remember what his
00:13:56.440 conditions were in Palestine. Nothing. And he knew it when he said it, didn't he? Stay with us for more.
00:14:10.480 I'm here from Rebel News. I'm at the University of Calgary, my alma mater.
00:14:18.000 I went to school here about 30 years ago in the 20th century.
00:14:21.540 I'm back today because, as you can see behind me, there's over 100 protesters and ralliers who are meeting today in the common field outside the Student Center
00:14:34.120 to talk about what happened a week ago when our reporter Drea Humphrey and Dr. Tom Flanagan,
00:14:40.360 a retired professor here, had a free speech event with Canadian students for free speech.
00:14:46.860 And it was basically inviting the students of the university to debate.
00:14:51.260 And the thesis or the question was, were the residential schools in Canada a genocide?
00:14:58.200 I think that's an excellent question. 0.55
00:14:59.720 I think we can all agree that in many cases, young indigenous children were taken contrary to the wishes of their parents and put in these boarding schools explicitly for the purpose for acculturating them in the European style civilization, as in remove them from their indigenous language and beliefs.
00:15:20.800 And really, I think part of the goal was practical to integrate young Indigenous people into the economy, into the world.
00:15:30.840 And by the way, many Indigenous people thought that was a very useful thing.
00:15:36.100 I give you the example of the Cold Lake Indian Band that positively petitioned the Canadian government to set up a residential school for their kids.
00:15:45.940 I know that, for example, a very famous Indigenous playwright said that his time at residential school was the happiest time of his life.
00:15:53.220 I personally know two alumni of residential schools, one of whom is a successful lawyer, and says had it not been for the building blocks he learned in residential school, there's just simply no way he would have been able to climb to the heights of the legal system that he has.
00:16:10.840 Again, I do not deny that there were some cruelties.
00:16:15.080 And when the metaphor of children being kidnapped and put in these schools is used,
00:16:20.220 I do believe that that's how it was in many cases.
00:16:22.640 In other cases, it was just like other boarding schools.
00:16:27.120 There's some sorrow when young kids go away to boarding schools,
00:16:29.980 but it's something that many families choose.
00:16:32.620 Of course, there are always abuses when young kids are overnight at a facility with teachers.
00:16:38.180 It's not just indigenous residential schools where some of these problems would have.
00:16:42.560 But I'm not here to dispute that there were individual atrocities.
00:16:46.140 I do note, however, that there may be some incentive to expand the actual number of atrocities because there were massive payments to people who claimed that they were abused.
00:16:59.800 I'm not saying no one was abused, but when you pay people thousands or sometimes tens of thousands of dollars, you're more likely to get them to give a false positive than a false negative.
00:17:09.600 But what I'm talking about here is what happened a week ago at this debate is our residential schools, were they a genocide?
00:17:18.980 And I think you can say they were wrong or had some bad side effects.
00:17:24.840 And I think you should acknowledge the good that they did as well.
00:17:27.520 I think you can conclude that they were wrong. You can conclude that they were an attack on indigeneity. You can conclude that they were designed deliberately to integrate indigenous people into the common culture. 1.00
00:17:41.480 You can say that's wrong and still realize that that is not a genocide.
00:17:47.180 And the accusation of a genocide is a very politically powerful weapon to destroy the moral value of Canada.
00:17:56.560 And by the way, it was Justin Trudeau and no one less than the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Beverly McLaughlin, who denounced and accused Canada of genocide for that very thing.
00:18:07.800 that's a demoralization tactic to say that canada is not a proud country with a noble past but
00:18:15.200 rather that we're no better than you know the turks genociding the armenians or the nazis
00:18:20.700 genociding the jews it's an outrageous calumny and yet it has been woven in to so much of official
00:18:27.700 life there are it's an establishment convention now to start with a land back acknowledgement
00:18:35.180 a land acknowledgement, which essentially says Canada was stolen, not built, not settled.
00:18:42.560 I don't think that's historically accurate, but it's not even about that.
00:18:45.860 I think it's about a moral attack on the idea of Canada itself.
00:18:50.280 But let me tell you about what I've seen here over the last few hours.
00:18:53.980 The first thing that jumps right out at you is that this event,
00:18:59.700 these speakers are standing in front of a stage with the trans flag.
00:19:04.280 They are painted not just in the rainbow pride flag, but in the transgender flag.
00:19:09.320 There's nothing more politically correct and just exquisitely fashionable than university politics.
00:19:16.140 I heard a number of speakers. I listened to probably four or five.
00:19:20.140 And much of what they said is, you know, was I would call indigenous studies or sympathy for those who were harmed in the past.
00:19:28.240 And I found most of it unobjectionable.
00:19:31.320 I did hear one reference to the university defining the difference between hate speech and free speech, and I would say that hate speech is a form of free speech.
00:19:40.980 That's the whole point.
00:19:42.240 And being a university student is about being able to learn how to respond to speech you don't like, not to complain to the teacher or the police to get your opponent taken away.
00:19:55.300 I managed to speak with a few people here who were with the Revolutionary Communist Party.
00:20:03.240 And what's so interesting is that they're everywhere.
00:20:07.520 I see the Revolutionary Communist Party at pretty much every left-wing protest in America and Canada, too.
00:20:14.860 They must be well-funded and well-organized.
00:20:17.280 They have beautiful materials from their logos to their merchandise to their pamphlets,
00:20:22.300 which they sell for five bucks a pop, by the way.
00:20:25.300 Um, it's, it's sort of astonishing. And one thing I'll say for them, they do not refuse to be interviewed. They love to talk, they'll talk the hind legs off a horse, because they believe, as all communists do, to join every battle against the establishment, to join everyone who's an oppressed person, no matter what the oppression is, race, gender, sexuality, you know, the working people versus capitalists.
00:20:51.340 It is a belief of these revolutionary communists to join every battle against the center.
00:20:57.180 I see you guys have a booth also.
00:20:59.580 What's the connection between the revolutionary communists and this event today?
00:21:04.200 Yeah, communists are against all forms of oppression, which of course includes indigenous people, especially here in Canada.
00:21:09.220 Our country was built off of eradicating the indigenous people culturally, socially, psychologically, all these kinds of things.
00:21:17.440 Are you a student here at UC? 0.84
00:21:18.860 Yes, I am. I'm in my fourth year.
00:21:20.680 What are you studying?
00:21:22.100 I studied literature and film studies.
00:21:24.340 So that's sort of the communist approach isn't to join all the different revolutions against the establishment.
00:21:32.340 I saw some of your colleagues up at the anti-data center protest.
00:21:37.020 Yes.
00:21:37.320 Were you up there?
00:21:38.120 I personally wasn't, but our party is at almost every labor movement in Calgary.
00:21:43.160 Because, yeah, against all forms of oppression means against and standing with all these labor movements.
00:21:48.060 That means following the consciousness of the masses and standing with them every stage that they're at.
00:21:53.620 So they'll be everywhere, and they are not the kind of people who say, go away, we're not talking to you.
00:21:58.480 There were a number of people here who refused to talk to Rebel News,
00:22:02.400 even though they brought some pamphlets and some posters.
00:22:08.700 In fact, there was a lady with a placard denouncing Rebel News.
00:22:11.900 I said, tell me why she wouldn't talk to me at all.
00:22:14.360 it's sort of a weird thing to have a protest and not talk about why you're protesting ask you
00:22:19.960 about your sign because that's a company i work with well did you make the sign or did someone
00:22:25.840 else make it for you did someone else make the sign for you okay i'm just curious who made the
00:22:31.680 sign okay no problem well i am maybe not by you but i am welcome here okay okay well i am welcome
00:22:41.820 here by other people. Who? I'm not going to give them their name. They might wind up with a bottle
00:22:47.140 of water on their head. Oh, I would say that. Well, that's not a good idea because we should debate
00:22:52.160 rather than be violent towards each other. Water is life. Well, you wouldn't want someone to pour
00:22:56.800 a bottle of water on your head. No, I wouldn't. Yeah, so don't do that to other people then. Well, no,
00:23:01.820 don't do what you do to them. What do I do? I'm not going to even... I don't think you even know
00:23:06.140 anything about me. Because I know who you are. Who am I? I'm not going to talk to you. I don't
00:23:11.580 think you know who I am at all. I do know who you are. I'm scared. I don't believe it. I know what you stand for.
00:23:16.360 Yeah, so just be quiet and have respect. Respect in everything. I really didn't come here to trick
00:23:23.540 or trap everyone, but to listen to them. It was interesting to me that the actual protesters for
00:23:29.780 the indigenous cause didn't want to talk, but the communists, I mean, they talked as long as I wanted
00:23:35.680 to um i don't know it was very interesting to watch the nervousness of the university itself
00:23:42.180 i came here and because i had seen what happened a week ago i brought two private security with me
00:23:47.040 because last week campus security didn't do a proper job they didn't protect drea humphrey
00:23:52.420 and dr tom flanagan from being jostled and having a bottle of water poured on their head and things
00:23:57.900 really escalated i think the university didn't like how that looked and so this year they really
00:24:02.940 made it so this week they really made an effort to tamp things down um they had three not one not
00:24:09.880 two but three staff with their media relations team and they came right up to me and said hello
00:24:15.820 and how can we help and there were other university administrators in a very senior way
00:24:22.060 so i think they were acutely alive to what happened last week and their desire not to have
00:24:28.480 a repetition hey suits me fine i i came in in a low energy way myself um i don't know what was
00:24:37.100 so interesting is that there there were some genuine indigenous students here and leaders
00:24:42.640 and frankly i i had great sympathy for what they had to say and and there wasn't actually a lot of
00:24:48.520 politics in terms of free speech and censorship from them they were more talking about the history
00:24:54.460 of Indigenous culture, and especially the modern history, but there were so many people
00:25:00.040 here who were not Indigenous. 0.83
00:25:02.840 They were just here because they were collecting oppressions, like the Revolutionary Communist 0.90
00:25:08.380 Party was. 0.69
00:25:09.380 So we saw a flag that blended the Palestine flag and the Indigenous colours.
00:25:15.260 We saw talk about capitalism and all sorts of extraneous battles.
00:25:19.340 There was one lady who had a backpack with probably 20 different stickers and pins on it.
00:25:26.420 I guess it's just another way of saying I'm back on university.
00:25:29.760 And even in Calgary, the most conservative city in the country, there's some left-wing woke views.
00:25:35.100 I'm glad I came.
00:25:36.400 And it was generally civil.
00:25:38.140 I mean, there were a few people who were passive aggressive to me, and that's their right.
00:25:43.260 I mean, I think the response to speech you don't like is your own speech or it's your right to not speak at all.
00:25:51.680 So the behavior on campus at this event was much better than it was last week when a handful of troublemakers jostled and shouted and in the end poured water on Dr. Tom Flanagan.
00:26:03.340 By the way, I think it was water, but what's to stop it from being something else next time?
00:26:08.200 I've seen Antifa bring bottles of human urine and throw it at people.
00:26:13.240 It could be acid or something.
00:26:14.900 It's an assault, and I don't know why the Calgary Police Service is refusing to charge the man who assaulted Dr. Flanagan.
00:26:23.440 Anyways, that's my report from here.
00:26:26.220 I think the university was, I think it respects freedom of speech so far.
00:26:33.460 And this is a very difficult issue to allow free speech on because there's so much of the establishment that is invested in not only the notion that residential schools were a genocide, but in the particular situation of the Kamloops residential school.
00:26:49.560 As you know, about five years ago, there was a discovery of 215 bodies in a mass grave outside the residential school, except for every fact I said there was wrong.
00:27:01.760 It wasn't actually a mass grave.
00:27:04.540 Nothing was discovered other than what they call anomalies by using ground penetrating radar.
00:27:10.300 Ground penetrating radar tells you that there's an anomaly under the ground.
00:27:13.440 It doesn't tell you what it is.
00:27:14.860 What you do if you think it's a body is you exhume it.
00:27:18.300 You have forensics experts carefully dig to see what is down there.
00:27:23.360 The Kamloops Bend has received millions of dollars to do just that.
00:27:27.040 But for whatever reason, they have refused to do so.
00:27:30.200 In those few circumstances where other Indian bands have excavated, they have found that indeed there were not mass graves or anonymous graves, but they were graves.
00:27:41.280 For residential schools 130 years ago, especially schools that were around for 50 years, there would be deaths.
00:27:50.160 Wab Kanu gave a speech the other day at a cemetery, and he gave examples of some of the deaths.
00:27:55.580 Here's an example. Take a look from Wab Kanu.
00:27:57.840 some bad people today say fill me the graves right here we shouldn't have to prove the truth
00:28:07.440 over and over again but we will these are kids from the brandon indian residential school
00:28:17.140 as a dad this one always
00:28:19.240 bedtime every parent knows the routine these guys going to sleep by themselves
00:28:25.900 no mom or dad. And this is a very well-documented site, maybe one of the more well-documented in the
00:28:33.560 country. So this one you see the newspaper reporting at the time when these kids died
00:28:39.620 at the Brandon Residential School, 1896. So this child would have been buried here,
00:28:45.460 this cemetery. Another child died, 1897. Another one, 1901. The church recorded them,
00:28:51.800 Vital stats for the province, newspapers of the day.
00:28:55.980 There could be no denying what happened in residential schools.
00:29:00.820 I hope kids across Canada learn about places like Brandon Residential School.
00:29:05.560 And you'll make Canada stronger.
00:29:08.520 It takes strength to be able to look in here.
00:29:10.960 It takes strength to look at pictures like this.
00:29:14.820 Some people died of tuberculosis.
00:29:17.380 Some people died of hemorrhages.
00:29:18.600 Some people died in accidents.
00:29:20.100 one person died from lightning none of that is a genocide none of that is malicious and none of it
00:29:26.340 is actually an atrocity that's what life was like 130 years ago especially um you know out on the
00:29:34.500 farm a lot of these residential schools taught the boys how to farm and the girls how to sew that's
00:29:40.100 just one of the trades they were taught so i don't know it's it's it's difficult to challenge the
00:29:48.900 slur of a genocide at all. And it's extremely difficult to challenge the central proof point
00:29:55.700 of the woke left, which is that Kamloops had a mass grave where white people murdered or disposed
00:30:04.080 of or did something nefarious towards Indigenous students. That simply hasn't been proved.
00:30:10.560 And asking for a forensic investigation of a of a extreme allegation like that is not racism, it's journalism.
00:30:23.000 And I think that a professor like Dr. Tom Flanagan and a reporter like Andrea Humphrey, who went to Kamloops and actually talked to the chief, I think they have the right to talk on a campus.
00:30:34.520 And I think students on the campus have the right to hear.
00:30:39.740 When you silence someone, you're not just limiting their rights.
00:30:43.360 You're limiting the rights of people who want to hear the other side of the story.
00:30:46.440 And frankly, are you doing anyone any good by teaching them that the response to hurty words is to be violent or to call for the shutdown or the arrest of your opponents?
00:30:56.780 I tell you one thing, I've never seen anyone in my entire life who was convinced because you slapped some duct tape over their mouth.
00:31:03.660 even haters even people who are motivated by hate hate comes from an underlying grievance
00:31:11.440 and until you deal with that grievance you're not going to turn off that emotion of hate
00:31:16.300 censorship by definition cements and freezes uh grievances they will not go away in fact if
00:31:24.460 anything they're proven because the man the establishment won't let you ask your point
00:31:28.680 I guess I would conclude by saying the Canadian Students for Free Speech, which hosted the
00:31:33.900 event last week, is off to a strong start.
00:31:37.140 And I think the University of Calgary, so far, has done the right thing.
00:31:41.760 As that Canadian Students for Free Speech grows across the country, we'll be able to
00:31:47.800 measure in real time how the other universities in this country do.
00:31:52.220 For Rebel News, I'm Ezra Levant.
00:31:58.680 hey welcome back your letters to me on signal the app that's fighting against uh carney's
00:32:09.840 proposed breach of privacy i'm a computer said carney doesn't care if they pull out
00:32:14.980 that's arguably his plan anyways because either way canadians lose their privacy well look he
00:32:20.520 didn't care when facebook shut down news because they didn't want to pay the 100 million dollar
00:32:24.940 your shakedown. I think we really are becoming a little bit more like China with its great
00:32:30.300 firewall of China. I mean, that's not my view. That's pre-Elon Musk's Twitter said that some
00:32:36.020 of Canada's proposals were really what they do in North Korea. Cheryl Turner says, how about
00:32:41.640 Liberal cabinet lead the march on letting CSIS look into their own phones and laptops? Hey, 0.86
00:32:47.660 that's a good point. You know, what's creepy about it is that so much of it would be done
00:32:51.600 without a search warrant, like just on a whim.
00:32:54.280 It reminds me of when Chrystia Freeland 0.79
00:32:55.880 seized all those bank accounts.
00:32:58.680 On the Stock Day interview,
00:32:59.760 Daryl Robinson says,
00:33:00.720 Stockwell is a federalist, enough said.
00:33:03.100 Alberta independence is Alberta destiny.
00:33:05.520 Vote yes on question 10,
00:33:06.960 option two to start a binding referendum.
00:33:10.680 You know, I think Stock is very pro-Alberta.
00:33:14.460 I'm not sure exactly where he is on the line
00:33:17.080 between a strong Alberta,
00:33:18.920 like a sovereign Alberta versus an independent Alberta,
00:33:22.440 but I know he's a good egg.
00:33:23.320 I had the pleasure of working for him about 20 years ago.
00:33:26.400 Well, that's our show for the day.
00:33:28.240 Until Monday, on behalf of all of us here
00:33:30.080 at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home,
00:33:32.060 good night and keep fighting for freedom.
