Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ I’m sorry to tell you, but the Toronto Star is at it again.

00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. Today I take you through an editorial in the Toronto Star. That's not normally something I'd spend my time on, but just line after line, it's just incredible.

00:00:09.280 The demonization of the unvaccinated, the command that they be forcibly vaccinated, even though that's de facto happened.

00:00:16.520 I mean, you're talking about nearly 90% vaccination in Toronto.

00:00:21.120 They have to become more and more hysterical because their plan, which is, you must say, is a great success. It hasn't worked yet.

00:00:28.600 I mean, when 90% of the people are being vaxxed and you're still getting outbreaks of the disease, it's not working, is it? I'll take you through that today.

00:00:38.420 But first, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe, eight bucks a month.

00:00:44.140 You get the video version of this podcast, plus podcast videos from Sheila Gunn-Reed, David Menzies, Andrew Chapados,

00:00:50.580 and of course, the satisfaction in knowing you're helping Rebel News stay completely independent of government money.

00:00:56.200 All right, here's today's show.

00:00:58.600 Tonight, I'm sorry to tell you, but the Toronto Star is at it again.

00:01:18.060 It's December 21st, and this is the Ezra Levant Show.

00:01:20.680 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:01:26.820 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:30.900 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:01:36.760 It's the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice.

00:01:45.380 From now on, the days get longer, and the nights get shorter, and hopefully a little warmer.

00:01:51.880 Hopefully the long night of the civil liberties winter will start to thaw.

00:01:57.000 Oh, that's a wish, not a prediction.

00:01:59.320 Even though the Omicron variant of the virus is spreading like wildfire, at least according to headlines.

00:02:06.560 And I'm sorry, but you can't trust the public health deep state anymore without proof.

00:02:12.680 So really, how do we know it's the Omicron variant?

00:02:16.100 The tests that people are taking themselves, I've seen those tests.

00:02:20.860 They don't distinguish.

00:02:22.760 The tests themselves are often unreliable.

00:02:25.620 Frankly, most of them are made in China.

00:02:28.860 I'd like to joke that maybe they're just pregnancy tests.

00:02:32.880 They certainly look like pregnancy tests.

00:02:35.080 That's a joke, by the way.

00:02:36.580 I'm kidding about that part, but seriously, how do they know it's Omicron?

00:02:40.700 Remember what Ontario's public health bureaucrats said before, you know, she was forbidden from doing any more press conferences for being too honest.

00:02:50.400 And in fact, if you're testing in a population that doesn't have very much COVID, you'll get false positives almost half the time.

00:02:59.260 That is, the person actually doesn't have COVID.

00:03:01.760 They have something else.

00:03:02.720 They may have nothing.

00:03:03.860 So, yeah, it's like a cold, I think.

00:03:06.300 I don't think a single person in Canada has died from the Omicron variant.

00:03:10.280 But what an excuse to lock down hard.

00:03:13.720 And Quebec is the worst. 0.89

00:03:15.340 They had curfews for months before, actually treating adults like children, innocent people like criminals, healthy people like sick people. 0.95

00:03:23.020 What a wonderful excuse to bring that back.

00:03:25.940 Looks like that's happening.

00:03:27.020 Doug Ford now says he's thinking of closing schools again.

00:03:30.580 Schools are open around the world.

00:03:33.220 Pretty much every U.S. state, including the Democrat ones, such as Florida now.

00:03:38.960 But Ontario, for some reason, just loves to shut down schools. 1.00

00:03:42.760 And Doug Ford is as dumb as he looks. 1.00

00:03:45.500 Bad times again. 1.00

00:03:48.000 What does Canada's largest newspaper, the Toronto Star, have to say?

00:03:51.980 They love it.

00:03:53.480 The media loves wars.

00:03:55.960 You can tell.

00:03:57.300 They love crime.

00:03:58.980 They love conflict.

00:04:00.200 They love this pandemic, too, too much.

00:04:04.640 They get to use fancy words like Omicron and Delta.

00:04:08.540 And they get to talk to people in white lab coats, sounding very science-y.

00:04:13.540 And all that, you know, all their dreams of climate lockdowns and government power come true.

00:04:20.240 Just over about a pandemic.

00:04:21.740 They'll take it.

00:04:22.420 You know, the saying, if it bleeds, it leads.

00:04:26.860 And even if it doesn't actually bleed, then just fake it.

00:04:29.720 I mean, the CBC is the worst of that.

00:04:31.080 Remember, they actually did a story a few months ago where they implied that an intensive care unit was full.

00:04:37.220 But, in fact, it was actually mannequins.

00:04:39.700 It was a training facility.

00:04:41.600 Remember the Star, though.

00:04:42.780 They're the worst.

00:04:43.440 Here's their front page from a few weeks ago where they just had a bunch of personal insults demonizing citizens who aren't vaccinated.

00:04:52.440 There are a lot of reasons not to be vaccinated.

00:04:54.960 The most obvious is if you have a medical reason not to get vaccinated, if the medicine itself might kill you, such as an extreme allergic reaction or myocarditis.

00:05:05.280 Another reason is if you are naturally immune, having contracted the disease and then recovered from it.

00:05:11.440 That's the main reason.

00:05:13.240 It's why kids in the 70s and 80s had chickenpox parties where their parents would knowingly infect them with other kids because it was better to have that disease early than later in life.

00:05:23.980 But there was a whiff of fascism to that front page.

00:05:27.760 And the Star hates the unvaxxed because they call them the alt-right.

00:05:33.660 They're not.

00:05:35.020 They're on the right and on the left and people who don't think in terms of right and left.

00:05:38.540 People and non-political people, many are formerly Green Party or NDP voters concerned about what they put in their bodies, especially when a government is extorting them to do so.

00:05:50.100 They're skeptical of big pharma.

00:05:51.520 In other words, they're individuals who care about freedom.

00:05:55.100 So, of course, the Toronto Star hates them.

00:05:56.940 But look at this.

00:05:58.020 This is from yesterday.

00:05:59.760 It just takes the cake.

00:06:01.520 It's a headline.

00:06:02.160 Is it time for governments to make COVID vaccines the law? 1.00

00:06:07.360 It's a stupid question. 0.99

00:06:08.520 I mean, it is already tantamount to the law. 1.00

00:06:10.840 You will be fired.

00:06:12.200 You'll be banned from restaurants.

00:06:13.580 You'll be banned from flying or from taking the train.

00:06:16.500 You'll be shunned and demonized.

00:06:18.040 And you actually will be jailed, at least for a while, if you happen to be caught in the government's pop-up quarantine jails at airports, which come and go.

00:06:26.200 I mean, seriously, 85% of eligible Torontonians, the city of the star, 85% are vaccinated, if you believe the government.

00:06:35.440 That's almost 90%.

00:06:37.560 I bet half of the rest have had the virus naturally already.

00:06:44.340 So real immunity is close to 100%.

00:06:47.200 If the vaxxers give immunity, 90%, there's pretty much nothing in society that 90% of people agree on.

00:06:57.640 It's, I mean, the whole thing is done.

00:07:00.420 If these vaxes worked, they'd have reached herd immunity a long time ago.

00:07:06.660 But they're not quite working, are they?

00:07:09.460 I'm not allowed to say it, but maybe Bill Gates can get away with saying it.

00:07:13.120 The deaths, it's been completely horrific.

00:07:15.700 And I would expect that will lead the R&D budgets to be focused on things we didn't have today.

00:07:25.720 You know, we didn't have vaccines that block transmission.

00:07:28.840 We got vaccines that help you with your health, but they only slightly reduce the transmissions.

00:07:33.720 We need a new way of doing the vaccine.

00:07:36.980 But the Toronto Star doesn't want to let the crisis go to waste.

00:07:40.540 They need this crisis to sell papers and to promote their ideology.

00:07:43.460 It is time for the spreading of hearsay and fear on both sides of the COVID-19 vaccination debate to end.

00:07:52.740 The facts are irrefutable.

00:07:55.400 Okay, this is going to be good.

00:07:56.280 The Toronto Star will tell us what the truth and only the truth is.

00:07:59.680 I got to get some popcorn for this.

00:08:01.820 The government of Canada has declared COVID vaccines safe.

00:08:05.000 Right. I don't know what that means because the FDA, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has ordered Pfizer to continue clinical tests for five more years.

00:08:16.340 We know that thousands of people in Canada have had serious reactions to the vaccine, including serious heart conditions and even death.

00:08:26.080 That's facts from the government, too.

00:08:28.600 Deaths, heart attacks.

00:08:29.660 So safe or sometimes safe or safe for now, the very first sentence in their editorial isn't quite true, is it?

00:08:37.860 I'll keep reading.

00:08:39.740 Vaccines reduce the risk of death from COVID and lower the burden on doctors and nurses holding our health care system together.

00:08:46.280 Maybe.

00:08:47.740 I don't know how you would even know, given they really are eliminating the control group, aren't they?

00:08:53.200 As in, if everyone is vaxxed, you really don't know how people would be doing if they weren't vaxxed.

00:08:58.280 I know this for a fact.

00:09:00.080 More people who are catching the disease, most people who are catching the disease these days, are actually vaxxed.

00:09:07.140 I'll read more.

00:09:07.980 If you are not vaccinated, you put yourself at risk and intentionally burden the health care system supporting your family, friends, and colleagues.

00:09:16.560 Hmm.

00:09:17.460 Intentionally burden the health care system?

00:09:19.040 Really?

00:09:19.720 So it's a moral crime, is it?

00:09:22.160 You're hurting the world on purpose, are you? 0.99

00:09:24.240 You wicked liars at the star. 0.99

00:09:26.740 Imagine using a personal health choice to attack someone's morality. 1.00

00:09:32.480 They don't do that for drug users or fat people, do they?

00:09:36.680 Just people who are healthy enough and young enough and maybe recovered enough.

00:09:40.180 They don't want the vaxxed. 0.54

00:09:41.260 They would never talk that way about fat people or drug users.

00:09:45.240 I'll read more.

00:09:45.880 When our hospital critical care units become overwhelmed with COVID care, they can no longer function to treat other diseases, injuries, and accidents.

00:09:53.780 Yeah, but that actually hasn't happened yet.

00:09:56.940 In two years, they have never been overflowing.

00:10:00.400 And frankly, after two years, if a government can't build or buy new hospital beds, that's sort of on the government, isn't it?

00:10:07.320 I'll read more.

00:10:07.920 With hospitals overwhelmed, our government will mandate forced lockdowns, resulting in social isolation that has been shown to contribute to increased drug overdoses, suicides, and spousal abuse.

00:10:20.800 Again, hospitals haven't been overwhelmed.

00:10:22.700 I can tell by all the hospital TikTok videos that the nurses and doctors make.

00:10:26.260 But it's a non-sequitur.

00:10:28.320 If you don't get vaxxed, there will be a terrible lockdown.

00:10:33.540 Well, first of all, nearly 90% of people are vaxxed, and they're doing that lockdown anyways.

00:10:39.200 But look at the admission there.

00:10:41.120 Lockdowns are devastating, but it's going to happen.

00:10:45.160 So now it's not a prescription for saving us.

00:10:47.620 It's a punishment for us being bad.

00:10:50.760 Get vaxxed or we'll lock you down. 1.00

00:10:52.680 I'll read more.

00:10:53.560 Ontario has enforced mandatory immunization for diphtheria, tetanus, polio, mumps, rubella, and other diseases in schools.

00:11:01.540 Why is COVID any different?

00:11:03.540 Well, again, it's not quite true.

00:11:05.140 You've got to take the star with a grain of salt.

00:11:07.160 In fact, it's not true at all.

00:11:09.280 You can find that in about 30 seconds in Googling.

00:11:11.840 Here's a page that refers to Ontario law.

00:11:15.160 In fact, all Ontario schools must allow exemptions, even for reasons of conscience and creed.

00:11:21.120 You have to sit through a presentation on why vaccines are good for you.

00:11:25.500 You have to say it genuinely offends your conscience.

00:11:28.740 But you are not forced to take vaccines.

00:11:30.960 Never have been.

00:11:32.100 The Toronto Star is lying again.

00:11:35.720 I'll read more.

00:11:36.860 We have heard too much talk about being on a wartime footing to fight COVID without taking the obvious real wartime measure to fight this disease.

00:11:44.440 It's mandatory vaccination.

00:11:47.060 There's that war thing.

00:11:48.340 Again, they love war in the newspaper business, except for now they're declaring war against Canadians.

00:11:53.800 That's a bit of a difference, isn't it?

00:11:55.820 When Canada really took a wartime stance in the past, we required mandatory conscription.

00:12:01.520 That wartime measures put a generation of our beloved young people into battle to face certain injury and death.

00:12:07.880 Really?

00:12:08.140 You know, most governments have changed how they report COVID stats now to make it really hard to find answers to key questions they don't want to talk about.

00:12:16.980 Like, did anyone die today?

00:12:19.320 And in Ontario, the answer is usually no.

00:12:23.180 And I'm talking about Ontario.

00:12:24.140 It's the biggest province.

00:12:24.800 It's the province of the Toronto Star.

00:12:25.920 I found this tweet on the Toronto Public Health Twitter feed.

00:12:30.560 And I'll just read it to you.

00:12:32.240 But as of December 20th, 8.30 a.m., there have been 191,000 cases, yada, yada, yada.

00:12:40.220 21 people are in hospital, four new.

00:12:45.560 And 3,722 deaths in total.

00:12:50.320 One new death.

00:12:52.480 There's a lot of stats there.

00:12:53.740 But here's the thing.

00:12:54.800 One person passed away in the last three days, most likely in their 80s, with severe underlying conditions.

00:13:04.440 So it's not even as bad as the flu.

00:13:06.840 It's a cold.

00:13:07.980 One person in three days.

00:13:09.060 I'm not happy anyone's dying.

00:13:10.500 But you're locking down the province for one person in three days?

00:13:13.620 I'll read more.

00:13:14.420 Here and now, in the battle against COVID, we are not asking for the sacrifice of life for a greater societal cause.

00:13:21.940 Quite the opposite.

00:13:23.040 We are asking all participating members of our society to take a simple, safe vaccine.

00:13:28.520 Safe.

00:13:28.960 You keep using that word.

00:13:30.920 I do not think it means what you think it means.

00:13:33.660 Maybe it is safe.

00:13:35.980 Or maybe you'll get injured by the vaccine, as thousands are.

00:13:40.200 But isn't that a balance that everyone can choose for themselves?

00:13:42.640 If you're 75 years old and fat and maybe have kidney disease and diabetes or whatever,

00:13:47.880 maybe the vaccine really doesn't make sense for you.

00:13:50.160 Balance the risk of the vaccine with the risk of the virus.

00:13:53.720 And if you're fat and 75 and sick, maybe it's a good idea to take it.

00:13:58.440 But why would, say, a healthy athlete, age 20,

00:14:03.880 at nearly zero risk from the virus itself,

00:14:06.300 take a vaccine that is especially punishing the young men and their hearts?

00:14:09.820 Seriously, type the words, dies suddenly, into Google and then click the button that says news

00:14:15.000 and you will see the inexplicable trend of young athletes having heart attacks on the field of playing.

00:14:22.000 We all want the same thing for COVID to end and for life to return to normal.

00:14:26.520 The only clear path to normalcy is vaccination.

00:14:28.560 Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Toronto Star does not want the return to normal

00:14:33.620 because we are actually at normal.

00:14:37.160 Normal for flu season.

00:14:38.840 In a regular flu season, one person dies every three days from the flu for sure.

00:14:42.660 This is normal.

00:14:44.260 They love the authoritarian rule.

00:14:45.780 They love the hatred.

00:14:46.820 They love the enemies list.

00:14:47.860 They showed it with their absurd front page the other day.

00:14:51.080 Refusing to get vaccinated other than religious or health reasons

00:14:56.400 is a willful, selfish, antisocial act that can no longer be condoned.

00:15:01.120 It's time for our political leaders to make vaccination against COVID-19 the law.

00:15:07.300 Of course, good luck getting those exemptions, by the way.

00:15:10.400 The government is suspending doctors who dare to give medical exemptions

00:15:13.860 and government-friendly clergy have all said they don't approve of religious exemptions.

00:15:19.560 There are no exemptions.

00:15:22.240 The Toronto Star would fit in with any authoritarian regime.

00:15:27.200 It would fit in in Turkey, in Venezuela, in Russia.

00:15:30.240 Never believe the Toronto Star when they say they care about civil liberties

00:15:34.140 or the Charter of Rights.

00:15:35.800 They don't.

00:15:37.420 And they told you that.

00:15:39.860 As if we ever had any doubt.

00:15:42.300 Stay with us for more.

00:15:45.680 Well, there's not a lot of people I can ask for help to figure things out

00:15:49.300 because most journalists in Canada are either ideologically in lockstep with a lockdown

00:15:54.740 or, frankly, they're right on the dole, the government dole.

00:15:58.380 I'm talking about the $600 million a year Trudeau media bailout.

00:16:01.300 One of the few exceptions to that rule is our friend Spencer Fernando

00:16:05.260 from the eponymous SpencerFernando.com.

00:16:07.720 Great to see you, my friend.

00:16:09.060 Thanks for taking the time.

00:16:10.640 It's like we're heading into the worst of all worlds,

00:16:13.620 but there's no reason for it.

00:16:15.380 Omicron is the mildest form of this virus yet.

00:16:19.260 Like, it's like a cold.

00:16:22.700 Yeah, it's interesting how when a new variant emerges,

00:16:26.920 they go with the scariest possible story, right?

00:16:29.600 And they actually use those words.

00:16:31.060 They'll say how scary it is.

00:16:32.240 And then when more information comes out, in many cases,

00:16:35.540 you have doctors in South Africa, you know,

00:16:37.380 where it was first noticed saying that it's relatively mild.

00:16:41.020 That just doesn't get talked about anymore, right?

00:16:42.700 They just stick with the initial scary story at the beginning,

00:16:45.120 and they use that to, you know, quote, unquote,

00:16:47.120 justify more lockdowns and restrictions.

00:16:49.840 So it's interesting.

00:16:51.080 It only moves in one direction, which is more fear, you know,

00:16:53.880 scaring people more and more.

00:16:55.320 Things are terrible.

00:16:55.980 Things are going to be awful.

00:16:57.100 And it never goes the other way.

00:16:58.400 There's never any reassurance or any balance or, you know,

00:17:01.060 any kind of responsible rhetoric from politicians and officials.

00:17:04.680 It's just, it's all always as bad as possible.

00:17:07.580 I saw a tweet from one of our Fight the Fines lawyers, David Anber.

00:17:10.960 He said, anytime a politician or a public health politician says,

00:17:15.040 Omicron is spreading like wildfire, which may be true.

00:17:19.940 He said they ought to have a duty to immediately say,

00:17:23.640 and there's almost no hospitalizations or deaths from it.

00:17:27.340 I mean, if you're hyping up the fact that it moves quickly,

00:17:30.220 and I'm willing to concede that, what do I know?

00:17:33.000 But I just checked the Toronto stats.

00:17:35.940 For the last three days, a grand total of one person has passed away

00:17:39.820 in the city of six and a half million.

00:17:41.480 And I'm not glad anyone has died, but we are all going to die of something.

00:17:45.360 One death in three days with over 100,000 cases.

00:17:50.000 I'm sorry, I just don't, I just don't think it's responsible.

00:17:53.040 I think it's almost disinformation to talk about how virulent this thing is

00:17:58.560 without saying, yeah, and it's like the sniffles.

00:18:01.480 And that South African doctor, frankly, our own Drea Humphrey reporter,

00:18:05.840 who she'll talk to anyone, she'll say, guys, it's nothing here in South Africa.

00:18:10.780 It really feels like an end to the pandemic, not the beginning to it.

00:18:15.120 Well, yeah, it's interesting.

00:18:17.100 At one point, Christine Elliott in Ontario had said, you know,

00:18:20.860 over time, cases are not going to mean what they used to mean, right?

00:18:24.720 Kind of saying, okay, well, at some point, there's going to be a lot of cases,

00:18:27.420 but not a lot of death and, you know, problems with that.

00:18:30.760 And so, but that's funny how now they justify the possibility of increased cases

00:18:34.740 as the reason for restrictions, right?

00:18:36.520 They focus on whatever number they feel will be the scariest.

00:18:39.480 So when there's deaths, they say, oh, this is causing a lot of death.

00:18:42.160 When there's not many deaths, they say, oh, well, it's going to cause a lot of people

00:18:45.600 to go to the hospital.

00:18:46.840 It's going to cause a lot of cases.

00:18:47.980 So they just focus on whatever number seems to keep people in a state of fear.

00:18:51.860 And I think people will, they need to wake up to them.

00:18:54.140 Yeah.

00:18:54.800 Yeah.

00:18:55.240 It's, I don't know how many people are still trusting of everything

00:19:01.860 that the public health bureaucrats say.

00:19:03.440 I think the number is actually pretty high.

00:19:05.980 And I think the reason for that is people have gone along with it.

00:19:08.560 They wore the mask.

00:19:09.760 They got the first shot.

00:19:10.960 They got the second shot.

00:19:12.940 They got the booster.

00:19:14.540 So it's, you've bought in psychologically to it.

00:19:18.160 And you say, well, I'm in this far.

00:19:19.820 I guess I'll get a fourth shot.

00:19:21.840 Oh, okay.

00:19:22.160 I guess, I mean, the thing is, if once you commit to a certain remedy,

00:19:27.180 I don't want to compare everyone this way, but there's sort of a psychological,

00:19:31.920 you don't want to repudiate everything you've thought and done for a year and a half.

00:19:36.160 You know, I saw some documentaries about these Nigerian email scams and how they get people 1.00

00:19:44.380 donating a little and then a little more and a little more.

00:19:47.220 And they were talking to a woman who had sent tens of thousands of dollars.

00:19:51.380 And she knew it was funny, but she just kept saying, well, I think there's an explanation.

00:19:57.340 And the documentary was basically saying, woman, you're being ripped off.

00:20:02.460 And she couldn't bring herself to admit it because that would repudiate everything she

00:20:08.920 had done so far. 1.00

00:20:09.940 And she didn't want to be, she didn't want to look like an idiot. 0.99

00:20:12.380 So she would rather say, no, no, no, no, no. 1.00

00:20:14.160 It's all going to make sense soon.

00:20:15.740 I'm not comparing every detail of that analogy, but there's something to it when you're in

00:20:23.300 this deep to later say, you know, this whole didn't stop me from getting sick.

00:20:27.800 Omicron breaks through the vaccines.

00:20:30.740 I thought I would be free, but I'm not.

00:20:32.820 And they want me to take a fourth jab.

00:20:34.820 I think it's a similar psychology play.

00:20:36.860 Am I going too far there, Spencer?

00:20:39.740 Well, I think, yeah, I think there's a lot of truth to that. 0.92

00:20:42.740 And also, I think there's a status issue as well, right, which is a lot of people, you

00:20:46.560 know, they got vaccinated and they said, well, I mean, I'm not one of those anti-vaxxers

00:20:50.840 now.

00:20:51.340 I'm in the category.

00:20:52.540 I'm the good guy, right?

00:20:53.520 I did what the government said.

00:20:54.540 I'm not one of those people.

00:20:56.300 And then they're going to be told, well, actually, sorry, you need a third or maybe fourth to

00:21:01.200 be considered actually fully vaccinated.

00:21:03.600 And so then they get thrown back into the category with all the unvaccinated people and 1.00

00:21:06.920 say, oh, no, no, I'm not one of those people, right?

00:21:09.120 So they go and run and do it.

00:21:10.380 I also saw a good comparison where someone said it's kind of, it's like marketing, right?

00:21:15.000 It's far easier to sell to someone you've already sold to than to sell to a new customer,

00:21:20.340 right?

00:21:20.440 It's easier to get a, keep a repeat customer than find a new one.

00:21:24.020 So once you've already gotten someone who, yeah, they've done what the government's told

00:21:27.400 them, well, they're probably going to do that again. 0.98

00:21:29.220 Whereas if you keep focusing on people who have been resisting what the government says,

00:21:32.940 well, they're probably going to keep resisting, right?

00:21:34.580 So I think that's, that's part of what's happening too, is they say, well, look, we can just got

00:21:39.560 a bunch of people who've already done what we told them to do and, you know, they'll probably

00:21:43.160 keep doing it.

00:21:44.320 Yeah.

00:21:44.700 You know, it's interesting, Dr. Jordan Peterson, who I, I look up to generally, I think he's

00:21:49.420 very thoughtful.

00:21:50.240 He went along with the, the, the vaccination and he was actually pretty positive about it

00:21:57.260 until he flew back to Canada and he had to go through all this testing and quarantining.

00:22:01.240 And he did a tweet where he said, I did what you wanted.

00:22:05.820 I gave you what you wanted and you won't let me go.

00:22:08.920 You said I would be free.

00:22:10.360 I regret it.

00:22:11.320 So it's like he made a bargain with the devil.

00:22:14.400 He didn't really want to get vaxxed, but he did it to be a compliant, good citizen.

00:22:20.060 And he felt like he was hoodwinked.

00:22:22.260 He felt like, well, you said I would be free now.

00:22:24.560 I thought that was very interesting.

00:22:26.080 I was a little surprised with how compliant he was to begin with.

00:22:29.740 But I think that his good faith was thrown back in his face.

00:22:34.000 It's, it's an interesting question.

00:22:36.100 I want to ask you about the enforcement though, because I'm looking at Quebec in particular.

00:22:42.480 Looks like they're going back to the darkest days.

00:22:45.180 Like they're talking about curfews again and crazy laws.

00:22:49.700 And I don't know if they're going to cancel Christmas.

00:22:52.160 I read your latest article on spencerfernando.com and you were talking about this.

00:22:55.980 Can you give us, can you give us a bit of news of what they're doing there?

00:23:00.240 Of course, we've got our great reporters on the ground, Alexa LeVoy and team. 0.65

00:23:03.240 But what are the statements so far that Quebec's going to do?

00:23:07.040 Well, basically they're going back, you know, almost to the start, right?

00:23:10.980 As if nothing had happened in the preceding, I guess, what, year and nine months, 10 months at this point.

00:23:16.180 And so I think it's bars closing, restaurant capacity limits, theaters closing, gyms closing, schools closing.

00:23:24.060 So basically most of the closures that happened at the very beginning of the pandemic are happening again.

00:23:29.220 And then, you know, I read a report and they're musing about, well, we're not going to restrict, you know, private home gatherings any more than we already have.

00:23:36.680 But everything remains on the table.

00:23:38.300 So, I mean, again, you know, this changes day to day.

00:23:41.240 And it seems what one problem, every province tries to follow the harshest problems, right?

00:23:45.080 So Quebec will do something, then Ontario will do the same thing, and then other provinces will follow, right?

00:23:50.880 So it's are they following the science or are they just following whichever politician seems the harshest on cracking down on people?

00:23:57.820 And so I think, you know, it's this whole issue is with making things mandatory and taking away people's choices is it's really made the debate a lot more aggressive than it should be.

00:24:08.000 Look, I've gotten two vaccinations, but I haven't gotten the vaccine card because just philosophically I feel I shouldn't have more freedom than someone else who choose not to get vaccinated, right?

00:24:17.340 And so I think there's going to be a lot of people who are going to start saying, you know, maybe as Jordan Peterson did.

00:24:21.420 Look, I did what I was told, and now they, you know, they move the goalposts again, right?

00:24:25.380 And, you know, if that happens enough, I think you've got to see people start saying, you know, this only ends when people stop listening to what the politicians tell them.

00:24:33.340 There's no other way it really ends.

00:24:35.880 You know, that's very principled of you to take the jab yourself, personal health decision, for whatever your reasons are, they're your reasons.

00:24:44.460 And it's not for anyone else to question.

00:24:46.560 But for you to stand in solidarity with those who don't, I'm deeply impressed by that.

00:24:51.740 You know, it's funny because you, I was listening as you listed the things in Quebec that are being shut down again, gyms, restaurants, things like that.

00:24:58.340 Those are things that unvaxed people were generally barred from because they didn't have that vaccine passport.

00:25:04.580 And so ironically, the people that these new lockdowns are targeting are not the unvaxed who are already marginalized in society, already segregated.

00:25:12.760 They're actually targeting the good boys and girls who signed up for the vax passport and said, I'm going to be on team public health.

00:25:22.060 And those are the folks being punished again.

00:25:24.380 I just wonder how many will have that buyer's remorse that Jordan Peterson did or how many will say like the Nigerian scam victim. 0.86

00:25:31.480 Well, no, no, you see, it's just two more weeks.

00:25:34.280 It's just just till we get through this new variant.

00:25:37.300 What do you think?

00:25:38.280 Do you think the public patience is wearing out?

00:25:40.460 I mean, I was alarmed to this very early, but, you know, I'm more politically skeptical.

00:25:46.660 I'm more of a dissonant, more of a contrarian.

00:25:48.340 Most people are normal.

00:25:49.720 They don't follow the news obsessively like you and I do.

00:25:52.620 They're not, they don't have a hair trigger on freedom stuff.

00:25:55.280 They just want to live their lives.

00:25:56.920 Is this breaking out of the political box into normal people's lives?

00:26:01.280 And what are they thinking?

00:26:02.560 What's your guess?

00:26:04.220 You know, I think it is starting to change with people.

00:26:06.340 You know, I think the one thing to look at is what people say in polls and then how they actually act.

00:26:11.360 Right.

00:26:11.460 I think a lot of Canadians feel like, oh, if I get if I get called with a poll and they say, are you going to follow all the health rules?

00:26:17.380 Oh, certainly.

00:26:18.040 Yes, absolutely.

00:26:19.020 But in their own lives, will they actually do that now?

00:26:21.220 You know, I'm I'm not so sure.

00:26:23.020 I think there's a lot of people who are saying they're tired of it.

00:26:26.280 They're done with it.

00:26:26.940 And, you know, you have people like Justin Trudeau literally recycling the same rhetoric from a year ago.

00:26:31.520 Right.

00:26:31.640 Just hold on a few more weeks, a few more months.

00:26:34.240 You know, you know, Teresa Tam saying we can't gather like we want to at Christmas.

00:26:38.600 You know, at a certain point, people are just going to say, look, you know, we're going to live our lives.

00:26:42.360 Obviously, you know, people have the right to be worried about their health and everything.

00:26:46.080 But life isn't just about trying to avoid getting sick.

00:26:49.280 Right.

00:26:49.420 I mean, if we did that, then none of us would ever interact with each other.

00:26:52.260 We would take no risks.

00:26:53.380 We wouldn't go anywhere.

00:26:54.720 No, we wouldn't drive.

00:26:55.480 Driving is the most dangerous thing most people do on a day to day basis.

00:26:59.020 So life does involve a certain amount of risk.

00:27:01.000 And I think you're seeing with all the addiction problems and mental health problems, you're seeing that you can't just try to save and protect everybody and assume there's not going to be other consequences to that.

00:27:10.860 That's not what life is fully about.

00:27:12.780 Yeah.

00:27:13.740 Yeah.

00:27:14.260 I mean, life is for living.

00:27:16.740 I mean, if you're living in jail, if you're living in a psychological jail, a physical jail, even if you could open the door, I know that's not much of living.

00:27:29.000 Spencer, it's great to catch up with you.

00:27:30.220 Thanks very much.

00:27:30.760 You're one of the few independent voices out there.

00:27:32.220 Folks, if you haven't signed up yet, please go to SpencerFernando.com.

00:27:36.640 And, you know, I really appreciate Spencer's point of view.

00:27:38.800 And it's great to see you joining us from time to time on TV.

00:27:41.480 All the best, my friend.

00:27:42.960 Yeah.

00:27:43.200 Take care.

00:27:43.780 All right.

00:27:44.220 There you have it.

00:27:44.800 Stay with us.

00:27:45.400 More ahead.

00:27:45.880 We'll see you next time.

00:28:15.880 These days are vaxxed people.

00:28:17.340 Makes sense.

00:28:17.820 Almost everyone's vaxxed.

00:28:19.460 So at what point do we say, well, we did what you told us, government, vaxxed, and you're still using policies that failed, lockdowns, and you're still commanding us to take more doses?

00:28:32.100 They're on the fourth jab now.

00:28:35.180 At what point do people wake up and say, your plans did not work and yet we're doing them again?

00:28:41.020 I don't know.

00:28:41.640 I've just never seen such collusion between big government, big pharma, big media, big tech before.

00:28:48.680 There's so few institutions against it.

00:28:50.820 Listen, I have all my vaccinations until this one.

00:28:54.680 I even remember traveling to the Caribbean once and I saw an ad, hey, you should get twin ricks if you're going to the Caribbean.

00:29:02.900 Who knows what's in the water?

00:29:04.560 And for some reason that ad clicked with me and I signed up for this.

00:29:07.900 This was 20 years ago.

00:29:08.700 And, you know, I'm not anti-vax per se, but it's pretty clear to me now that this is not about treating a virus.

00:29:20.220 It's about a virus being an opportunistic moment for all these institutions I've referred to to make a grab at our rights, including the most essential right to our own body.

00:29:33.360 I'm just shocked that all the people who claimed over the years they were pro-choice, my body, my choice, have gone along with it.

00:29:40.280 I wonder if they ever meant it.

00:29:43.460 Anyways, we'll see.

00:29:44.400 I wonder if this holds up.

00:29:45.540 If they ban Christmas, which they're trying to do again, I wonder how many people will actually comply.

00:29:51.220 I think more than a few will.

00:29:54.140 Well, that's our show for today.

00:29:55.920 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home, good night.

00:30:00.960 Keep playing for freedom.

00:30:03.360 Take care.

00:30:29.200 Take care.

00:30:30.200 Bye.

00:30:30.620 Bye.

00:30:31.780 Bye.

00:30:32.340 Bye.
