Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ Trudeau's bodyguards assaulted a Rebel reporter — here's how we're fighting back

00:00:00.220 Hello, my Rebels. Today's show is terrible.

00:00:03.100 Our friend David Menzies was attacked, not by some mugger,

00:00:07.960 and not by some Antifa thug or some street urchin,

00:00:11.180 but by Justin Trudeau's personal bodyguards.

00:00:14.120 He wasn't charged with anything. He wasn't arrested.

00:00:17.360 He was just beat up, and then they let him go.

00:00:19.560 They never even said what he did.

00:00:21.380 He was standing on a sidewalk the whole time,

00:00:23.280 just waiting to ask a question. It's crazy.

00:00:27.520 We have a petition. We have a website.

00:00:29.740 We're launching a lawsuit.

00:00:31.600 I'll get into all that in today's show.

00:00:33.240 You can see the lawsuit for yourself at standwithdavid.com.

00:00:37.780 Obviously, this is one of those times where a podcast doesn't do the story justice.

00:00:41.840 You'll want to see the actual videotape because that's the thing.

00:00:45.220 We had two cameras there. David had a camera,

00:00:47.820 and we had a cameraman accompanying him who recorded the whole shocking thing.

00:00:52.340 I'd like you to see that.

00:00:53.960 You can see that at standwithdavid.com,

00:00:56.060 or, of course, you can watch this whole episode,

00:00:58.680 as a video by signing up for rebelnewsplus.com.

00:01:03.800 Just go there and click subscribe.

00:01:06.080 All right, here's today's show.

00:01:07.120 They smashed my face into a wooden wall.

00:01:28.460 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:01:40.640 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:44.720 The only thing I have to say to the government,

00:01:47.140 the wire publishing,

00:01:48.480 is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:01:50.560 I'm angry and sad at the same time Justin Trudeau's bodyguards beat up our reporter David Menzies.

00:02:01.420 It was completely unprovoked.

00:02:03.880 David was standing on a public sidewalk outside a public event where Trudeau was going to a liberal Christmas party.

00:02:10.720 David was doing what all media do,

00:02:12.720 waiting patiently to call out a question to Trudeau as he walked in.

00:02:16.640 But Trudeau's bodyguards know rebel news, and they hate rebel news,

00:02:20.880 because Trudeau hates rebel news.

00:02:23.920 Trudeau says it again and again.

00:02:25.900 He says we're not real reporters.

00:02:27.700 He says we don't deserve any respect.

00:02:29.580 He publicly blames us for the sorry state of Canada.

00:02:33.280 He personally bans us from attending public press conferences.

00:02:37.600 And if we manage to get into one,

00:02:39.580 he insults us instead of answering our public questions.

00:02:43.280 He controls most Canadian media, but he can't control us.

00:02:47.500 He hates us for that, and it shows.

00:02:49.980 It's a real shame to see the Conservatives using lines straight out of rebel magazine and rebel webcast.

00:02:56.900 The rebel should not be writing commentary and questions for the members opposite.

00:03:02.080 They should know to disassociate themselves from that kind of politics and those kinds of personal attacks.

00:03:07.600 It's disappointing to see the Conservatives engage in peddling

00:03:10.840 Engage in peddling

00:03:12.380 Rebel media

00:03:13.140 Rebel media

00:03:13.760 Conspiracy theories

00:03:14.940 Conspiracy theories

00:03:16.940 Okay, let's go.

00:03:18.160 Don't touch me.

00:03:19.020 Hey, Wallace.

00:03:19.820 Go.

00:03:22.440 Let's go.

00:03:22.660 Let's go on this side.

00:03:24.700 Thank you.

00:03:25.000 This is Ottawa, Canada, 2020, when Justin Trudeau is having his RCMP throw out a journalist

00:03:33.060 for no reason, because I wouldn't show him my phone.

00:03:37.260 I wouldn't show him what is, what pictures I've taken.

00:03:40.300 So after demonizing us and denormalizing us and defaming us for five years, his staff got the message.

00:03:48.220 And so they attacked us.

00:03:50.620 Let me play a few minutes of it for you.

00:03:52.280 Get out of the road.

00:03:57.040 Get out of the road.

00:03:58.020 Huh?

00:03:58.200 Come on.

00:03:59.020 What's wrong?

00:03:59.740 You got hit by Carl.

00:04:00.620 Huh?

00:04:00.880 Yeah.

00:04:01.580 You'd like to see that.

00:04:02.840 I wouldn't like to see that at all.

00:04:05.820 It needs a lot of paperwork for me.

00:04:07.260 Yeah.

00:04:14.320 Stay back.

00:04:14.860 What are you doing?

00:04:15.860 Get off me. 0.85

00:04:17.680 Hey, I can.

00:04:20.220 Hey, this is assault.

00:04:21.580 Move.

00:04:21.780 I'm on a side.

00:04:23.220 What is this?

00:04:24.420 I'm on a sidewalk.

00:04:29.140 I am on a side.

00:04:30.660 What is this?

00:04:31.880 You cannot touch me.

00:04:33.420 No Russian order. 0.85

00:04:35.260 Me?

00:04:37.340 Are you kidding?

00:04:40.920 Are you kidding?

00:04:41.820 I told you.

00:04:43.920 What is this?

00:04:46.360 You can't.

00:04:47.160 Am I under arrest?

00:04:49.100 Am I under arrest?

00:04:51.280 Am I under arrest?

00:04:52.820 Because otherwise you have no right.

00:04:54.480 abuse.

00:04:58.060 God. 1.00

00:05:01.220 What the fuck? 1.00

00:05:01.700 Huh? 1.00

00:05:02.520 What the fuck? 1.00

00:05:11.520 Huh? 1.00

00:05:11.840 Huh?

00:05:11.960 What's this?

00:05:15.540 Uh huh?

00:05:16.060 Get off of me! 1.00

00:05:17.060 Guys, relax!

00:05:28.060 That's all recorded. 1.00

00:05:31.060 You are a thug. 1.00

00:05:33.060 You are thug. What are your names? 1.00

00:05:35.060 Give me your name and your badge number.

00:05:38.060 Give me your name and your badge number.

00:05:40.060 Okay, hold on.

00:05:41.060 Give me your name and your badge number.

00:05:43.060 Hold on. Come over here.

00:05:44.060 Get your hands off! 0.99

00:05:46.060 You have no right to put your hands on me on a public sidewalk.

00:05:50.060 Am I under arrest?

00:05:52.060 Am I under arrest?

00:05:54.060 Because you're not answering.

00:05:56.060 You physically assaulted me and so did you. 0.90

00:06:00.060 And so did this guy. 0.62

00:06:02.060 Move your hand out of my face. 0.97

00:06:04.060 What?

00:06:06.060 You had your hand on my throat.

00:06:09.060 What's your problem?

00:06:10.060 All of them.

00:06:11.060 How'd you guys rub a rub that though?

00:06:13.060 Is that the good Canadian way?

00:06:15.060 You witnessed...

00:06:16.060 You witnessed that.

00:06:17.060 Oh, I'm overseeing.

00:06:19.060 That was aggressive.

00:06:21.060 What about his watch?

00:06:22.060 Thanks.

00:06:23.060 What about his watch?

00:06:24.060 And his phone?

00:06:25.060 How about that?

00:06:26.060 Are you going to pay for that?

00:06:27.060 Guys.

00:06:28.060 Are you going to pay for that?

00:06:29.060 Excuse me.

00:06:30.060 I just have a question.

00:06:31.060 Are you guys going to...

00:06:32.060 Are you guys going to do anything about the watch?

00:06:33.060 What does he do about it?

00:06:35.060 Does he just get a new...

00:06:36.060 Like who pays for that? 0.69

00:06:38.060 Are you guys proud of yourself?

00:06:40.060 You can't touch me if I'm not under arrest.

00:06:44.060 I haven't touched you.

00:06:45.060 I'm standing at the door.

00:06:46.060 Okay.

00:06:47.060 Stand at the door.

00:06:48.060 Like the trained seal you are. 0.99

00:06:51.060 You censorious thugs. 0.97

00:06:53.060 Your boys would not approve of this, would they? 0.99

00:06:55.060 No, they would not.

00:06:56.060 Would your friends approve of this?

00:06:57.060 What the hell were you thinking?

00:06:58.060 Would your mother and father approve of that? 0.95

00:07:00.060 No.

00:07:01.060 What were you thinking?

00:07:03.060 Oh, you're not a tough guy now, eh?

00:07:06.060 What's he going to do?

00:07:07.060 He's just asking questions.

00:07:08.060 And that's how he gets treated?

00:07:09.060 And you.

00:07:11.060 You've got a tough guy now, right?

00:07:13.060 The big galoot.

00:07:14.060 David, that's enough though.

00:07:15.060 Let's just go.

00:07:17.060 Unbelievable.

00:07:18.060 Where go where?

00:07:20.060 You seem to be distracted.

00:07:21.060 I just want to talk to you.

00:07:23.060 Talk right now.

00:07:25.060 Okay.

00:07:26.060 You know the PM's here.

00:07:27.060 You're obviously obstructing the motorcade.

00:07:29.060 That's why you're...

00:07:30.060 No, I'm not obstructing the motorcade.

00:07:31.060 No, no.

00:07:32.060 That's not your... 1.00

00:07:33.060 You are a lying liar and we have it on video. 1.00

00:07:34.060 I was on the sidewalk all the time. 1.00

00:07:36.060 That's your opinion.

00:07:37.060 No, no.

00:07:38.060 That's my fact.

00:07:39.060 We have it on two cameras.

00:07:40.060 They have a job to do.

00:07:42.060 And you were obviously obstructing the motorcade.

00:07:44.060 And that's why they told you to leave.

00:07:45.060 And you weren't responding to them, so...

00:07:47.060 We are going to get to know each other intimately in court, my friend.

00:07:51.060 You're going to be charged with assault.

00:07:53.060 You had no right to put your hands on me without me being under arrest.

00:07:57.060 You should know that.

00:07:58.060 And I want your name and I want your badge number right now.

00:08:03.060 Okay.

00:08:04.060 Hold on.

00:08:05.060 You keep saying hold on.

00:08:06.060 Give me that information.

00:08:08.060 This is what I was telling you, okay?

00:08:10.060 Get this out of my face first.

00:08:11.060 No, I'm not getting it out of your face.

00:08:12.060 The conversation is going to stop until this is out of my face.

00:08:14.060 Is that right?

00:08:15.060 Yeah.

00:08:16.060 Okay.

00:08:17.060 Yeah.

00:08:18.060 Yeah.

00:08:19.060 When this is off, I said...

00:08:20.060 No, no, no.

00:08:21.060 You want to cover your...

00:08:23.060 How do you put your hands on somebody that's not under arrest, sir?

00:08:27.060 What is your name and your badge number?

00:08:32.060 They smashed David's face against the wall.

00:08:35.060 You can clearly see that.

00:08:36.060 David was so stunned, he couldn't speak right.

00:08:39.060 They beat him up.

00:08:40.060 They bloodied him.

00:08:41.060 They destroyed his property.

00:08:43.060 David had to go to the doctor later that night.

00:08:45.060 His ears were still ringing.

00:08:47.060 He was bloodied and cut.

00:08:49.060 There was no excuse for this.

00:08:50.060 David did nothing wrong.

00:08:51.060 He was never arrested.

00:08:53.060 He was never charged with anything.

00:08:54.060 He committed no crime.

00:08:56.060 He literally was just standing on the public sidewalk waiting to ask a question.

00:09:02.060 The crime was committed by Trudeau's thuggish bodyguards who knew they were doing something

00:09:07.060 evil and refused to tell David their names despite the legal requirement to do so.

00:09:12.060 They beat him up just because he was with Rebel News.

00:09:15.060 And Trudeau has let the world know Rebel News does not deserve respect.

00:09:20.060 Enough is enough. 0.86

00:09:21.060 Every day Trudeau becomes more of an authoritarian bully. 0.51

00:09:24.060 He rules by decree, not bothering to consult Parliament on most matters.

00:09:29.060 He's ordered the government to crack down on opponents on the internet, specifically against

00:09:34.060 YouTube channels like us.

00:09:36.060 And of course, he has banned Rebel News reporters from attending any press conferences or even

00:09:40.060 covering the leaders debates during the election campaign.

00:09:43.060 First of all, questions around accreditation were handled by the press gallery and the consortium

00:09:50.060 of networks who have strong perspectives on quality journalism and the important information

00:09:57.060 that is shared with Canadians.

00:10:00.060 The reality is, organizations like yours that continue to spread misinformation and disinformation

00:10:12.060 on the science around vaccines, around how we're going to actually get through this pandemic

00:10:19.060 and be there for each other and keep our kids safe is part of why we're seeing such unfortunate anger

00:10:27.060 and lack of understanding of basic science.

00:10:31.060 And quite frankly, your, I won't call it a media organization, your group of individuals need to take accountability

00:10:41.060 for some of the polarization that we're seeing in this country.

00:10:46.060 And I think Canadians are cluing into the fact that there is a really important decision we take

00:10:53.060 about the kind of country we want to see.

00:10:55.060 And I salute all extraordinary hard-working journalists that put science and facts at the heart of what they do

00:11:03.060 and ask me tough questions every day, but make sure that they are educating and informing Canadians

00:11:10.060 from a broad range of perspectives, which is the last thing that you guys do.

00:11:16.060 And would you have the obligation to answer my question as Prime Minister, or would you still

00:11:22.060 diabolize my media?

00:11:24.060 I shared my perspective on your organization yesterday. I have nothing to say.

00:11:30.060 That was quite a telling moment. Mere hours after the Federal Court of Canada ruled that

00:11:34.060 Rebel News must be accredited at the leaders' debates, Trudeau refused to answer our reporters' questions.

00:11:39.060 saying we were not, in fact, journalists, even though the Federal Court just said that we were.

00:11:45.060 He defied and disrespected the court order upholding our charter rights.

00:11:50.060 Is it any wonder that his personal bodyguards feel they don't have to obey the law either?

00:11:55.060 This is the worst thing that has ever happened to a Rebel News reporter in our seven years.

00:12:00.060 We've had street thugs and Antifa members attack our reporters, but never a government thug.

00:12:08.060 The Toronto Police Service came quickly because of the assault, but they refused to lay charges against Trudeau's bodyguards.

00:12:15.060 Despite the assault being caught on video, they know it would be career suicide to cross Trudeau that way.

00:12:21.060 So we have to go to court ourselves. Today we filed a lawsuit on behalf of David.

00:12:27.060 It's very simple. Just ten pages long. You can read it for yourself at StandWithDavid.com.

00:12:34.060 It details the vicious assault by Trudeau's henchmen, and it also describes how this was entirely foreseeable.

00:12:41.060 For five years, Trudeau has demonized us as an enemy.

00:12:46.060 It was only a matter of time before his personal staff took the hint and beat up a Rebel News reporter to please their master.

00:12:53.060 This isn't how we live in Canada. This is the kind of thing you might expect from an authoritarian regime like Turkey or Russia or Venezuela.

00:13:03.060 Imagine if Stephen Harper's bodyguards had beat up a CBC reporter, but I fear that because most of the media is on Justin Trudeau's payroll now,

00:13:12.060 through the bailout, they're going to be silent or even say that David deserved it.

00:13:18.060 Please help us fight back for David. It's not just David who got beat up by Trudeau.

00:13:23.060 It's the very idea of a free and independent press and the right of non-government journalists to ask questions of our political class.

00:13:30.060 If Trudeau and his thugs can get away with this, what's next?

00:13:34.060 Raiding our Rebel News offices? Jailing our reporters? This cannot stand.

00:13:40.060 If you agree with me, please go to StandWithDavid.com.

00:13:44.060 Help chip in to cover our lawsuit against Trudeau.

00:13:46.060 We're suing the RCMP, the three officers involved, and the government itself.

00:13:50.060 You can see the lawsuit at that page.

00:13:53.060 And please sign our petition to Brenda Luckey, Trudeau's handpicked RCMP commissioner who has done nothing but protect Trudeau and investigate his enemies.

00:14:03.060 Tell her that she must suspend her three thugs who beat up David and call in an outside investigator to review their misconduct.

00:14:11.060 I have watched that video of David being assaulted three times now, and each time it makes me feel worse.

00:14:17.060 Not just for how brutish the RCMP has become towards David himself, but also how brutish they have become towards our freedoms as Canadians.

00:14:26.060 Please help me stand with David.

00:14:29.060 Go to StandWithDavid.com, sign our petition to the RCMP commissioner, and if you can, please help us cover the cost of suing Trudeau's thugs for David.

00:14:41.060 We're going up against the entire resources of the federal government.

00:14:44.060 This really is a David and Goliath moment.

00:14:47.060 Let me know if you stand with David.

00:14:49.060 I'm sitting here with Lincoln Jay.

00:14:54.060 He's one of our videographers and an occasional reporter himself.

00:14:57.060 Lincoln has been roughed up by police before, too, both in the city of Toronto and the city of Montreal.

00:15:04.060 I regret that the pandemic has given all authorities this new tyrannical edge, this new authoritarian edge that they didn't have before.

00:15:14.060 Because when you're going about the substance of rolling back someone's rights, it's not a surprise that your style matches.

00:15:24.060 When your job is to break through historic civil liberties and to roll them back, to say you can't leave your house, you can't go on public transit, you can't go in the public square, you can't have your job.

00:15:38.060 When that's the substance of what you're doing, is it any surprise that violence emerges from the state?

00:15:44.060 And Justin Trudeau not only supports lockdowns and things like that, but he has been on a five year jihad against critical journalists, Rebel News being amongst the top of them.

00:15:55.060 Lincoln, I'm sorry with what happened very much, but I'm so glad that you were there to record it.

00:16:01.060 Some of what happened was recorded on David's own cell phone, but most of it was on yours.

00:16:07.060 We played the video.

00:16:09.060 Tell me what it was like to be there in person.

00:16:12.060 It was just shocking, to be honest. The whole thing was shocking.

00:16:16.060 We were standing on that exact sidewalk where the incident took place.

00:16:21.060 We were standing there for a good hour.

00:16:23.060 You know, Trudeau's officials were walking by us, the same people that attacked David.

00:16:29.060 We saw them multiple times before this, you know, never once told us to move, never once said anything.

00:16:35.060 And let me tell you, you were on the sidewalk.

00:16:37.060 100% on the sidewalk, as the video shows.

00:16:40.060 Yeah. You know, I was just reviewing the law.

00:16:44.060 There is a special law that our courts have developed that if you are very close to a VIP,

00:16:51.060 could be a foreign ambassador, foreign leader, prime minister, the police have the right to search your bag.

00:16:57.060 And if you don't like it, you can leave the really close to the big shot area.

00:17:02.060 Normally, if police say what's in your bag, you say, come back with a search warrant.

00:17:06.060 But if you are very close to a prime minister, the police can search your bag, but they have to ask you.

00:17:12.060 If you decline, you can just move away.

00:17:15.060 That's the only wrinkle about being near a VIP.

00:17:19.060 It doesn't say you can attack someone.

00:17:21.060 You can punch someone.

00:17:23.060 And they never asked to inspect anything that David had. 0.91

00:17:26.060 They didn't say, let me look in your bag.

00:17:28.060 They knew he was David Menzies.

00:17:29.060 All he had in his bag was a microphone.

00:17:31.060 Exactly.

00:17:32.060 I don't know.

00:17:33.060 The whole thing just seemed targeted.

00:17:35.060 I was standing right beside David.

00:17:37.060 They did not touch me.

00:17:38.060 Well, that's the thing.

00:17:39.060 That's what's weird.

00:17:40.060 I mean, David, I don't know his exact age.

00:17:42.060 I think he's about 60.

00:17:43.060 He's pretty fit.

00:17:44.060 But he's got, you know, I don't think it's a secret to say he's got two artificial hips.

00:17:49.060 He's 60.

00:17:50.060 You're a young lad in your 20s, a pretty strong fella.

00:17:53.060 They didn't touch you.

00:17:54.060 They went after the 60-year-old guy with two fake hips. 0.71

00:17:57.060 Why wouldn't they go after you?

00:17:59.060 You were both a team so obviously.

00:18:02.060 I think it was a vendetta.

00:18:04.060 To be honest, I couldn't agree more.

00:18:07.060 You see how close.

00:18:09.060 I'm literally right beside David.

00:18:10.060 Well, the camera was there.

00:18:12.060 You were standing like this.

00:18:13.060 They're not putting a paw on me.

00:18:15.060 Right at the beginning, they kind of just kind of guided me, tried to get me out of the

00:18:19.060 way.

00:18:20.060 But it was just like immediately went from zero to 100.

00:18:22.060 They went after David.

00:18:23.060 They pinned him against the wall.

00:18:24.060 And as you see in the video, it was brutal.

00:18:26.060 You know what?

00:18:27.060 I mean, I was so focused on what they did to David, I wasn't thinking that you were one

00:18:31.060 foot away from him.

00:18:32.060 Like as close as you and I are right here.

00:18:35.060 One foot.

00:18:36.060 And they didn't touch you other than that one time where they just sort of gently push you.

00:18:39.060 That makes no sense.

00:18:40.060 There's no sense.

00:18:41.060 There's no sense to that.

00:18:42.060 Because if David was in the way, you were in the way.

00:18:44.060 If David was a threat, surely you.

00:18:46.060 I mean, you're a pretty fit guy.

00:18:48.060 Not that you have a hostile bone in your body.

00:18:52.060 But if there was a threat, it ain't the 60 year old guy.

00:18:55.060 Yeah.

00:18:56.060 You can see in the video too, they tell me, all they told me, they told me to get out

00:19:01.060 of the way and I simply walked past them and continued to film.

00:19:04.060 And they never told me once again to get out of the way.

00:19:07.060 That is so, you know, I didn't think about this until you just mentioned, I was so focused

00:19:11.060 about what they did to David.

00:19:12.060 Now they smacked his head against the wall.

00:19:14.060 And that's stunning in both definitions of the word.

00:19:20.060 It's stunning.

00:19:21.060 Like you're stunned.

00:19:22.060 You're physically stunned.

00:19:23.060 Your brain is jostled.

00:19:25.060 You know, David told me he was hearing, he may have had a concussion from that, but

00:19:30.060 you're also morally stunned.

00:19:31.060 You're shocked that your government is doing this to you.

00:19:35.060 So called police.

00:19:36.060 You're shocked.

00:19:37.060 So it was when he, when he first tried to speak, what's your name?

00:19:41.060 What's your badge?

00:19:42.060 Why do you do this?

00:19:43.060 It was almost like his voice was slurred.

00:19:45.060 And I think that was both because he was psychologically, what is happening?

00:19:49.060 But also he just had his head smashed.

00:19:51.060 I'm telling you, Ezra, being there on the scene, like in the moment when everything was

00:19:56.060 happening, I couldn't believe my eyes.

00:19:57.060 First of all, how they were treating David, like we're there to ask questions.

00:20:00.060 Okay.

00:20:01.060 That's the bottom line.

00:20:02.060 And you know, during the moment, it was just so much was going on.

00:20:04.060 They smashed his head against the wall.

00:20:06.060 His watch comes off, his phone's on the ground, mic flashes down.

00:20:10.060 It was just like, to be honest, the way they were treating him, I thought David was arrested

00:20:14.060 and he was being taken away, but they simply let him walk away.

00:20:18.060 It was just a, it was a mugging without, like just, just a random act of violence.

00:20:25.060 It was a random act of violence.

00:20:27.060 Totally.

00:20:28.060 There's no, like, I don't know, there's no justification for that.

00:20:31.060 Like, you know, no warning, nothing, just gone.

00:20:33.060 Just gone.

00:20:34.060 I'm so mad.

00:20:35.060 I'm so glad you caught it on film.

00:20:39.060 David has been, you know, he's spent a few days now.

00:20:42.060 I mean, he's gone to the doctor.

00:20:44.060 He's taken notes.

00:20:45.060 His, I mean, we, his fingers were all bloody.

00:20:48.060 His head was smashed.

00:20:50.060 This, this is crazy stuff.

00:20:52.060 And, and yet he's still, it didn't, the full gravity of things didn't really sink in.

00:20:56.060 He's still tried to do journalism after that.

00:20:59.060 That's, that's David.

00:21:00.060 He's a trooper.

00:21:01.060 But, you know, when we were giving the, when the police came by and everything, I, he was

00:21:05.060 like, he had no cough the whole day, nothing.

00:21:08.060 He was like, like kept on coughing, felt winded.

00:21:11.060 Like David was really knocked up from this.

00:21:13.060 Yeah.

00:21:14.060 It was.

00:21:15.060 Well, you know, I am very mad about what happened.

00:21:17.060 And I, you've heard me say this in staff meetings before, when our people are attacked, I feel

00:21:22.060 like it's I myself who've been attacked.

00:21:24.060 Yeah.

00:21:25.060 And I think our viewers should feel like they have been attacked because David is not out

00:21:30.060 there on a cold night in Toronto staking out Trudeau's Christmas party for his own edification.

00:21:36.060 He's there to tell the other side of the story for our viewers.

00:21:40.060 So he's in the service of the company, in the service of me theoretically as the boss,

00:21:46.060 but he's doing so for the benefit and the public interest of our viewers.

00:21:53.060 And so when Trudeau's henchmen attack David, they're attacking me, they're attacking you,

00:22:00.060 even though, thank God, they didn't touch you.

00:22:02.060 But they're attacking our viewers and their right to know.

00:22:04.060 And I believe we must join and stand with David.

00:22:08.060 That's our website we have.

00:22:09.060 It's called stand with David.

00:22:11.060 You can see the lawsuit.

00:22:12.060 It's a very simple lawsuit.

00:22:13.060 There's not a lot to say.

00:22:15.060 For five years, Trudeau denigrated rebel news.

00:22:18.060 His, his henchmen got the message.

00:22:21.060 One day they mugged him.

00:22:22.060 That's what this was.

00:22:23.060 It was a mugging.

00:22:24.060 It was a mugging.

00:22:25.060 There was no arrest.

00:22:26.060 There's no investigation.

00:22:27.060 There was no charges.

00:22:28.060 It's a mugging.

00:22:29.060 Yep.

00:22:30.060 It's a mugging.

00:22:31.060 You know, no warning.

00:22:32.060 Absolutely nothing.

00:22:33.060 Let us walk completely free around after.

00:22:35.060 Unbelievable.

00:22:36.060 Well, go to standwithdavid.com.

00:22:39.060 Read the lawsuit.

00:22:40.060 It's a simple lawsuit.

00:22:41.060 Plain English.

00:22:42.060 Sign the petition to Brenda Luckey, Trudeau's handpicked commissioner of the RCMP.

00:22:47.060 Fat lot of good.

00:22:48.060 That'll do.

00:22:49.060 But we have to try.

00:22:50.060 And if you can, help us pay for the thing.

00:22:52.060 I got a quote from our lawyers today that this thing could cost up to 75 grand.

00:22:56.060 I've dealt with lawyers long enough to know that that's a minimum.

00:22:59.060 This is going to be a $100,000 exercise.

00:23:02.060 And if we lose, we'll have to appeal.

00:23:05.060 I don't know how we could possibly lose.

00:23:07.060 You've seen it all on tape.

00:23:08.060 Well, Lincoln, I'm glad you were there.

00:23:10.060 I'm glad you were not attacked.

00:23:12.060 I feel terrible that our friend David was.

00:23:15.060 And I promise that we'll keep on this story.

00:23:17.060 And the fact that we've had to sue the Toronto Police, the Montreal Police, the RCMP, York Region Police.

00:23:25.060 In Australia, we have to sue the Victoria Police that's in a state in Australia for attacking Avi Amini.

00:23:32.060 I'm getting a little sick of having to sue police.

00:23:34.060 And in no case is it because our people committed some crime.

00:23:38.060 In every case, it's because our people were doing journalism.

00:23:41.060 And police forces across the West are becoming more like police forces in authoritarian regimes.

00:23:46.060 And I believe that Rebel News is the pointy edge of the spear in this stuff.

00:23:49.060 Because we're one of the few media in the world, in Canada, that doesn't take government money.

00:23:54.060 And if they come for David today, they'll come for Lincoln tomorrow. 0.57

00:23:58.060 They'll come for me the next day.

00:23:59.060 And then they'll come for you, my friends.

00:24:01.060 Exactly.

00:24:02.060 We are the canary in the coal mine.

00:24:04.060 Go to standwithdavid.com.

00:24:05.060 Thanks again.

00:24:06.060 Stay with us for more.

00:24:08.060 You know, sometimes I just give you my final thoughts as opposed to reading letters.

00:24:20.060 Of course, the letters wouldn't be about today's news because you're just hearing it for the first time.

00:24:24.060 You know, our people are pushed around from time to time.

00:24:28.060 And I suppose that happens in life.

00:24:30.060 Occasionally, you get jostled or pushed.

00:24:32.060 And you usually shrug it off if it was nothing serious.

00:24:35.060 And really, what are you going to do?

00:24:38.060 We've had some more serious attacks on our people from Antifa.

00:24:42.060 Or if you recall, from Dion Buse, that thuggish guy in Alberta.

00:24:46.060 This NDP activist who punched Sheila Gunn-Reed in the face.

00:24:48.060 And with him, we had a criminal conviction against him and we sued him in civil court, too.

00:24:54.060 We took it very seriously.

00:24:56.060 And although I despised the fact that they had Sheila Gunn-Reed, at the end of the day, she was not seriously injured.

00:25:02.060 The gravity of this assault on David Menzies, even though he could talk afterwards, he was clearly disoriented.

00:25:08.060 He was bloodied.

00:25:09.060 I think he was just adrenalized and shocked in the moment.

00:25:12.060 He's since seen a doctor.

00:25:14.060 This is a whole other level.

00:25:18.060 Not only is it the worst physical attack that's ever been done against our revolutionist people, but most obviously, it was done by the government.

00:25:26.060 And not just any branch of the government, not just any police force.

00:25:30.060 This was Trudeau's own bodyguards.

00:25:32.060 That's what makes this the worst.

00:25:34.060 Trudeau's inner circle, his bodyguards, his henchmen, targeted David.

00:25:40.060 David, I didn't really realize it until I was talking to Lincoln.

00:25:44.060 Lincoln, this big strapping 20-something-year-old hockey player, was standing right there.

00:25:48.060 They didn't even tell him.

00:25:50.060 They told him to move once and he moved.

00:25:52.060 They didn't touch him.

00:25:53.060 They were targeting David Menzies.

00:25:56.060 They were laying a beating on him.

00:25:59.060 That was a mugging.

00:26:00.060 I'm very upset by this.

00:26:02.060 And the lengths we've gone for our other journalists who have been attacked in the past, we've gone to the great lengths that we can.

00:26:09.060 And I assure you that we'll do the same for David.

00:26:11.060 I think we're going to need 75 grand for the lawsuit.

00:26:14.060 If you want to help, please do.

00:26:15.060 Go to StandWithDavid.com.

00:26:17.060 And we've got that petition to the RCMP commissioner.

00:26:20.060 I'm not quite sure what good that'll do.

00:26:23.060 But it'll be very interesting to see what other media and civil liberties groups in the country have to say.

00:26:29.060 I think we're going to be met with silence.

00:26:32.060 I'll let you know how it goes.

00:26:34.060 That's our show for today.

00:26:36.060 Until next time, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home, good night.

00:26:41.060 And keep fighting for freedom.
