00:00:00.040 Oh, hi, everybody. I'm back from my quick trip to the UK. And I was thinking about it. I mean,
00:00:04.100 I went there to cover Tommy Robinson and his possible jailing for a fight he got into. He was,
00:00:11.160 I think the police realized it was self-defense. But he actually told me about three tweets he's
00:00:16.660 being prosecuted for, which is crazy. I'll talk about that. I'll show you the three tweets
00:00:21.240 in question. You can tell me if you think they're crimes. By the way, before I get to that,
00:00:28.060 can I invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus? That's the video version of this
00:00:32.160 podcast. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe, eight bucks a month, and you help
00:00:38.080 us stay strong. Thanks. Tonight, another whirlwind trip to the UK. And I didn't even realize what
00:00:47.520 the most important thing I saw was until I got back to Canada. It's August 6th, and this is the
00:00:52.560 Astro LeVant Show. As you may have seen, I was in London yesterday. I try to do my trips on the
00:01:12.920 weekends so they don't take away from the important work we do here in Canada. But there's just so much
00:01:18.780 going on over there. I mean, think about the things we believe in at Rebel News, freedom of speech.
00:01:22.440 We're concerned about mass immigration. We're troubled by radical Islam, especially recent
00:01:27.060 expressions of it, on our own streets in Canada. And by the way, it's a subject that people are
00:01:32.260 sort of waking up to, the connection between mass immigration from countries that don't respect
00:01:37.680 women's rights and the increase in sexual crimes in Canada, from sexual assault to human trafficking.
00:01:43.840 Those are spicy issues that will change our country on a civilizational level. Of course,
00:01:51.480 we care about the carbon tax and the things like that. But what I just described go to the very
00:01:57.160 roots of our society. That's why I go to the UK and Ireland and other countries too, because I
00:02:03.500 believe that they are a few years further down the road than we are. Right now in the United Kingdom,
00:02:08.540 I don't know if you know this, but they're debating bringing back blasphemy laws. Well,
00:02:13.020 there were blasphemy laws in the UK centuries ago. They applied to Christianity. Obviously,
00:02:17.920 the new blasphemy laws would apply to criticism of Islam. And of course, that would mean even people
00:02:25.200 who were apostates, even people who disagreed with Islam could get rolled up. And then we saw a little
00:02:30.300 bit of that in Canada, when police said criticizing someone for attending one of these Palestinian
00:02:36.360 rallies could be treated as Islamophobia. They're trying to change the laws here.
00:02:41.480 In the United Kingdom, they're permitting cousin marriage. That's another debate.
00:02:47.820 Cousin marriage has for centuries been frowned upon in Anglo societies, but it is the norm in places
00:02:55.600 like Pakistan. And it's coming back to the United Kingdom as well. Women are being erased, of course,
00:03:01.820 not just by the hard left trans movement, but by Islamification.
00:03:04.900 Um, I saw this in Paris after the Bataclan massacre. I saw there were outdoor cafes with
00:03:13.240 no women, chic cafes. If you didn't look who was sitting there, you'd say, oh, this is a lovely
00:03:17.740 Parisian cafe. No, it's just man. I saw the same thing in Marseille. Those countries are further down
00:03:23.320 the road than we are, but not by much. You can see the effect of mass immigration on foreign policy.
00:03:29.000 Macron of France, Keir Starmer of the UK, Mark Carney, all at the same time siding with Hamas.
00:03:37.280 As Melanie Jolie said, it's the demographics dummy. I checked and let me tell you what the
00:03:43.380 demographics were in a key voting block over the course of a few decades. In 1991, and all these
00:03:52.180 years will end in one because that's when the census is. So in 1991, there were 253,000 Muslims in Canada
00:03:58.540 and 318,000 Jews. And the Jews were more established. Uh, 10 years later by 9-11, the Muslim population
00:04:07.140 had doubled to 579,000. Whereas the Jewish population just edged up, uh, not even, uh, a couple of
00:04:16.680 percent to 329,000. By 2011, the Muslim population had almost doubled again, over 1 million. The Jewish
00:04:26.800 population stagnant at 329,000. And the last census in 2021, the Muslim population had almost doubled
00:04:34.560 again to 1.8 million people. The Jewish population stagnant at 335,000. Now, obviously not all Muslims
00:04:43.760 support terrorism. Um, and regrettably some white woke leftists do too. So it's not all based on
00:04:50.220 immigration or religion, but tell me a reason more persuasive for Mark Carney to endorse Hamas
00:04:56.920 and the Palestinian state than the fact that there are now six times more Muslim voters as there are
00:05:03.180 Jewish voters. If you're just doing it by the raw math, which politicians do, of course, more than just
00:05:08.720 Jews care about terrorism and care about Israel, but it's a big and important reason for what's
00:05:13.760 going on now in the United Kingdom. Again, they're further down the road. They have a new Muslim
00:05:18.680 political party being formed. A half dozen independent MPs ran in the last election on a
00:05:24.620 lend Gaza your vote ticket. Isn't that unusual? They, they had such large Muslim populations in their
00:05:32.680 districts that they said, vote for me and I will take Gaza to parliament. And half a dozen of them won.
00:05:38.360 And now they're coming together and forming a new party and they will absolutely get a dozen more
00:05:45.120 seats in the next election for sure. And much more importantly, they will panic. They are panicking
00:05:51.160 the labor party, which used to have these areas. So the labor party is moving so much harder to the
00:05:57.000 left and to the pro-Islamic and pro-migration position to stop the bleeding of these votes.
00:06:02.940 That's why Keir Starmer endorsed Hamas, because of this new Islamic party. I think this is the
00:06:09.720 biggest issue in Canada. And I should tell you, the Conservative Party of Canada did not have the
00:06:14.040 courage to talk about these things in a candid way in the last election. They were too worried,
00:06:19.460 as conservatives have been for 30 years, to come out against mass immigration for fear of looking
00:06:24.280 racist. In fact, there are plenty of video clips of Pierre Paliab doing the opposite, doing lots of
00:06:30.420 pandering on all sorts of immigration, from temporary workers, to students, to family
00:06:35.320 reunifications. Here's just a few examples.
00:06:39.140 And we will bring a direct flight to Amritsar.
00:06:44.980 We will rebuild the Canada that we know and love. A Canada where it doesn't matter if your name is
00:06:50.800 Martin or Mohammed, Singh or Smith, Paliab or Patel.
00:06:56.960 Many people thinking the Conservative Party of Canada is anti-immigration.
00:07:07.120 No. Wrong.
00:07:08.580 Yeah, people say that.
00:07:09.780 No, no, no, no. Babaji. Babaji, that's wrong.
00:07:12.380 The Conservative Party is fighting for every Canadian, including our newcomers. My wife is
00:07:16.800 a refugee from Venezuela.
00:07:18.080 We stand for immigrants. In fact, we want to fix the immigration system that Justin Trudeau
00:07:22.640 has broke. We're going to use common sense. We'll support lawful immigration. We'll make
00:07:27.500 it faster to unite families, bring people to build job openings and rescue people from
00:07:32.000 danger. And we'll make it lawful and get rid of all the chaos the Liberals have caused.
00:07:37.060 So when he's Prime Minister, he's going to bring families together. The Conservative Party
00:07:40.240 is not anti-immigration party.
00:07:42.420 Pro-immigration.
00:07:42.800 Pro-Canadian. Pro-immigration. Let's bring it home for Canada. Let's bring it home for
00:07:47.820 everybody. The common sense of the common people united. We're our common home. Your
00:07:51.480 home. My home. Our home. Let's bring it home.
00:07:54.020 Thank you so much.
00:07:54.620 Thank you.
00:07:54.960 Thank you.
00:07:57.540 Thank you.
00:08:01.600 I mean, there was actually no difference between the Conservatives and the Liberals on immigration
00:08:07.100 going back probably half a dozen elections. And that's because whatever the Liberals would
00:08:11.160 say, Conservatives would automatically say, yeah, we're for the same thing. They would
00:08:15.420 do anything rather than be called racist. Now, these issues travel together in packs.
00:08:21.240 Freedom of speech, mass immigration, radical Islam, crime, including sexual assault. We've
00:08:26.660 had mass immigration before to North America. Never on this scale, of course. But when it's
00:08:32.080 the 1900s and you're bringing to Canada tens of thousands of farmers from Ukraine to help settle
00:08:40.060 the prairies, or even New York City's story of bringing in the Irish and the Italians and the Jews
00:08:45.960 by the hundreds of thousands, of course you're going to have challenges with mass immigration.
00:08:49.960 Of course, that's for sure. But it's not going to be like this. I mean, the West and Christianity
00:08:54.700 is being replaced by Islam. I'm not talking about New York and London now. I'm talking about
00:09:00.420 Alexandria in Egypt or Constantinople. Those were once mighty Christian cities, but not now. I mean,
00:09:09.260 Constantinople is called Istanbul. The Great Hagia Sophia Church is now a mosque. That was through
00:09:16.340 invasion, not invitation, which we have in Canada and across the West. So anyways, I'm in the UK,
00:09:22.580 and these days, there are protests every single weekend, and in fact, almost every day against
00:09:29.220 these things. Mass immigration, Islam in the public square, sexual assaults coming from migrant hotels.
00:09:35.120 And instead of dealing with the underlying issue, the core issue, the root cause, as leftists like to
00:09:41.320 say, the government is dealing with the secondary effects, the reactions and responses. Stop the
00:09:47.140 protests. Stop criticism on social media. They're not focused on fixing the problem.
00:09:52.580 Foreign migrants crossing over in little dinghies from France illegally, throwing their ID into the
00:09:58.700 sea, living in these posh hotels, some of the four-star hotels, everything paid for, and then
00:10:04.480 taking advantage of the high-trust society to rape their way through the UK. I mean, the statistics in
00:10:10.760 the UK are shocking. But instead of dealing with the underlying issue, the government there is dealing
00:10:16.200 with the reactions to the issue. You can see this a few months ago when a woman named Lucy Connolly,
00:10:23.200 who was the wife of a politician, made a tweet about migrant hotels. It was over the top, but she took
00:10:30.260 it down quite quickly. 31 months in prison for that tweet. Or the other day at Canary Wharf, a fancy
00:10:36.440 area of London, there were people protesting against a four-star migrant hotel. Police simply issued a notice
00:10:44.280 banning protests for a month. Just a police order. No court involved. Just, hey, no more protests in here. It's quite something.
00:10:51.280 Okay. There's a section 42. Section 42 in place of the 2001. You're causing distress alarm to the resident of this hotel. Yeah? You have to leave now and not return within 28 days to this area. If you don't
00:10:58.280 you will be arrested. Okay? So you're telling me that we're not allowed to come back and protest for...
00:11:05.280 you have to leave now and not return within 28 days to this area. If you don't, you will
00:11:23.240 be arrested. Okay? So you're telling me that we're not allowed to come back and protest
00:11:27.240 for 28 days because you're causing distress to the resident of this hotel. If you don't
00:11:32.960 comply with that, you will be arrested. Which all brings me to Tommy Robinson's new charges. Now
00:11:43.120 you'll remember I went to London because my friend Tommy Robinson, who's a key activist in all the
00:11:47.920 issues I was just describing, he was in a train station. Someone identified him and came to beat
00:11:53.480 him up. Tommy shouted at him to back off. He didn't. At the last moment, Tommy punched the bad guy who
00:11:59.120 went down like a sack of potatoes. Tommy immediately called the police to let them know what
00:12:03.100 happened. Tommy's lawyer called the police the next day. Tommy went back. He was abroad. He had a
00:12:09.220 business trip abroad, but he came back early to be interviewed by police. And luckily, the surveillance
00:12:14.640 footage in that train station showed exactly what Tommy had said, that this man made a beeline for
00:12:20.520 Tommy, threatened him. Tommy retreated. The man proceeded. So knock on wood, there have been no
00:12:27.340 charges laid and Tommy was not jailed. He was bailed that night. So that's what I went there for because
00:12:33.940 I didn't think he would be bailed. And I wanted to cover the court case as I often do. At 1 a.m.
00:12:40.120 after interviewing him for hours, the police said, okay, we're not going to charge you, at least not
00:12:44.880 for now, on that subway incident. But here's what's incredible. And I didn't know this until I met Tommy
00:12:52.540 for my interview with him. At 1 a.m., the cops said he was free to go on the subway fight. But for the
00:13:00.420 next two hours, seriously, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. at the police station with the lawyer there, the police
00:13:06.860 talked to him about three tweets that he made, one of them more than a year old. Now, this is the first
00:13:14.700 one, and it's still on the internet. I'm going to read it to you. Kobe Nazrul Primary School, that's the
00:13:21.400 name of the school, in London's East End, has been named as the first in the UK where none of the
00:13:27.660 children's first language is English. The school sits in a quiet side street off the busy commercial
00:13:32.940 road in Whitechapel, a district once synonymous with Jack the Ripper and the Cray twins, and home
00:13:38.840 to the nation's true cockneys. Now this. That's an interesting story. Imagine a school where not a
00:13:46.580 single child is British. They're, and they're not even, you know, children of immigrants. These kids
00:13:53.620 are all foreigners themselves. English is their second language, an entire school.
00:14:01.340 But the police argued with him for two hours. Have you heard my interview with Tommy yesterday?
00:14:06.840 One of the things that they said to Tommy that was racist about this was Tommy was denying that these
00:14:13.180 kids from Bangladesh or wherever could be cockney. You know what cockney is? It's a working class.
00:14:20.120 It's, it's a, it's a culture. It's also a way of speaking. Like Michael Caine would do a cockney way.
00:14:26.520 It was, it was in the UK. They have so many different accents. It is a, it is rooted in a certain
00:14:32.300 geography and class. And you can't just say I'm converting to cockney or I'm moving to East London.
00:14:38.800 I'm cockney now. It's, it would be like saying you're pure lane Quebecois. You can move to Quebec,
00:14:45.440 but you either are or aren't a Quebecois. The police were arguing with Tommy saying it was racist for him
00:14:51.940 to insinuate that these children from Pakistan or wherever were not cockney. Just unbelievable.
00:14:59.780 And then this one, um, he took the same tweet and he just added the word, shh, we are supposed to
00:15:06.580 celebrate this diversity. So he just took his first tweet and added, we're supposed to celebrate
00:15:11.060 this diversity. Police said that that was a crime to say that. And then this one, now this is offensive
00:15:17.200 to be sure, but is it a crime, an actual crime? You'll see Tommy just retweeted an image from
00:15:24.600 some guy who made it. If it is a crime to say F Palestine, is it also a crime to say F Israel
00:15:32.320 or F Zionism or F the Jews? Cause that's happening an awful lot these days online and in real life.
00:15:41.720 I haven't seen any arrests of anyone calling for death to the Jews in Canada or the UK. Have you,
00:15:47.840 let alone just F them? That last one was tweeted by Tommy in May of 2024 and police have been holding
00:15:56.120 onto it and they're now proceeding against him. And they're calling these crimes, those documents I took
00:16:01.900 pictures of, those were, those were the sort of the charge sheet that Tommy received at the police
00:16:07.040 station. They grilled him about these with his lawyers for two hours on Monday night from 1am to
00:16:12.440 3am. Now we're not there yet. Canada is not quite there yet, but I have to say it feels like we're
00:16:19.540 just a few minutes behind. As you know, we had something called the Online Harms Act. And the only
00:16:25.400 reason it's not law right now is because Justin Trudeau prorogued parliament in January or December so he
00:16:31.100 could get out of a possible non-confidence vote. In the UK, the new censorship law is called the Online Safety
00:16:37.840 Act, very similar to what I just described here in Canada. Online Safety Act, Online Harms Act, really it's
00:16:46.920 global censorship. And they are effectively criminalizing criticism of those issues we talked about before,
00:16:54.440 Islamism, radical Islam, even criticizing any form of Islam, talking about mass immigration.
00:17:01.440 Police are acting as if those blasphemy laws are already in place.
00:17:05.820 But it's one layer worse. And again, I'm not sure if you watched my interview last night with Tommy,
00:17:09.520 but he said that the school story he quoted was basically word for word from a story published in
00:17:16.020 the Daily Mail, which is a huge newspaper over there. I think it actually has the largest readership
00:17:21.360 just by sheer numbers in the UK. Tommy asked the police, how could it be a crime for him to tweet
00:17:28.760 those words, but not for the Daily Mail itself? And they actually said to him, because they were
00:17:35.440 licensed journalists and he's not. That is what they said to him. So yeah, Tommy beating the rat for his
00:17:43.220 subway incident. That's why I went to the UK to see if he could stay out of jail. But him being pursued by
00:17:50.260 real police with real guns. Actually, I don't have, I think they have guns in the UK for publishing
00:17:55.500 tweets. That is not what I expected, but that's absolutely what I was there to talk about. Hey,
00:18:03.520 by the way, I don't know if you heard my announcement. We are taking a whole team of Canadians and others
00:18:09.200 to London for Tommy's big free speech rally on September 13th. That's a Saturday. I'm going to be a
00:18:15.320 speaker there. But I thought, well, why don't we invite Canadians to come with us? And why don't
00:18:20.180 we have a nice dinner with Tommy a couple of nights in advance of that? Just our team, you know, have a
00:18:26.220 nice meal and Tommy can talk to us and take selfies or whatever. And then I thought, well, why don't I
00:18:30.680 build a little conference around that? And I've recruited politicians and journalists and activists.
00:18:35.780 So if you are interested by the United Kingdom, by Tommy Robinson, by censorship, by what's going on over
00:18:42.440 there, consider coming. Now it's not cheap. You got to fly to London. Hotels in London are very
00:18:48.140 expensive. We're renting a tour bus because we're going to take one day and we're going to go into
00:18:53.160 the country and see that it's not just London there. There's other parts to it, but it's going
00:18:57.740 to be, and on Saturday, of course, we're going to go to the big rally. If that's your kind of thing.
00:19:01.780 And if you have a budget that can handle it, because it's not cheap, I got to say, it's actually the
00:19:06.000 most expensive trip Rebel News has ever done. You should come because it's going to be the trip of a
00:19:10.660 lifetime. It's going to be amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if Tommy's rally on September 13th
00:19:15.760 has a hundred thousand people. Tommy is, that was actually what I was worried about is this whole
00:19:21.520 subway thing would have got him thrown in jail for his rally. So if you find these stories
00:19:26.740 interesting, if you think the lessons learned in the UK are important for us here in Canada,
00:19:30.840 why not come with me? And by the way, Alexa Lavoie and Avi Yamini are coming too. So you'll have a
00:19:36.180 chance to hang out with me, Alexa and Avi. Go to freespeechmission.com to learn more. It's not
00:19:43.580 for everyone. It's, you know, it's a five-day thing. I don't, not everyone can take that time off
00:19:47.580 and it's expensive because you got to get to London and then there's a hotels and meals,
00:19:51.300 but I think it's going to be amazing. All right. Well, I'm back in Canada.
00:19:55.440 My friend David Menzies prepared these comments.
00:20:06.180 Hey folks, great news report regarding the war on wokeism, which is to say team normal just notched
00:20:15.800 another big win against the barbarians who comprise the cancel culture mobs. And to think
00:20:21.560 it all centered on an ad campaign launched by American Eagle Outfitters Inc featuring actress
00:20:28.740 producer Sydney Sweeney promoting denim jeans. Did you know that Sydney Sweeney will be
00:20:36.060 producing and starring in the upcoming Barbarella reboot? Oh, please, please, Sydney. I beg of
00:20:43.060 you. Don't delete the excessive machine scene from the 1968 original. Anyway, there's nothing new
00:20:52.080 about blonde bombshells being recruited to move the merchandise from Marilyn Monroe endorsing luster
00:20:58.940 cream shampoo back in the fifties to Anna Nicole Smith serving as the guest jeans girl in 1992.
00:21:05.940 Sex sells as the old adage goes. But that was then. And this is now. Alas, in these awful
00:21:13.820 woke times in which we reside, the American Eagle campaign featuring Sydney Sweeney triggered
00:21:21.200 the lunatic fringe big time for preposterous reasons. And the microaggressions they suffered
00:21:28.940 had almost everything to do with a line of ad copy which read, Sydney Sweeney has great genes. That's
00:21:38.940 meant to be a clever play on words. Of course, you know, genes with a J replacing genes with a G.
00:21:45.820 And that's the thing when it comes to the real world. Some people have good genes with a G.
00:21:53.700 And some do not. Yeah, it's unfair, I suppose, but that's the nature of things. And as much as I'd love
00:22:02.680 to be the starting center for the Toronto Raptors, I just don't have what it takes gene-wise. And besides,
00:22:10.760 white men can't jump. Speaking of whiteness, this was another reason that the woke left lost their
00:22:19.700 collective minds regarding the American Eagle campaign. And yes, I speak of those due rigueur,
00:22:26.680 obese, blue-haired cat ladies whose only workout comes via pounding out tweets of outrage via their
00:22:34.580 laptops. Sydney Sweeney is many things. But the fact that she's Caucasian makes the American Eagle ad
00:22:43.280 racist, you see. To the woke mob, the posters depicting Sydney in denim was clearly channeling
00:22:52.680 white supremacy and even Nazi-inspired eugenics. And the fact that Sydney is also cursed with big,
00:23:01.840 beautiful blue eyes. Well, that pretty much makes her the poster child for the Aryan race,
00:23:08.720 doesn't it now? But that's the thing about this manufactured controversy. If American Eagle had
00:23:15.520 used a beautiful black or Hispanic or Asian model for its poster campaign and used the exact same copy,
00:23:25.600 nobody would have said anything. In fact, it would have likely been praised for its diversity.
00:23:31.840 But white is not right when it comes to the loony left, even the Caucasian members of the loony
00:23:39.140 left. And so the ad was slammed as being racist, even though when you think this through, it is Sweeney's
00:23:47.380 critics who are the racists for attacking her based on skin color. Now, it's important to note that it was
00:23:55.740 really only the lunatic fringe that was losing their collective marbles over this, you know, those sad
00:24:01.960 soy-fueled psychos who seemingly exist to be offended by imaginary microaggressions. And naturally,
00:24:10.040 mainstream, lamestream media was only too happy to provide a sounding board. Now, at this point,
00:24:17.280 I want to quote some excerpts from the UK's Guardian newspaper. The Guardian story was typical of how
00:24:25.740 the left-wing media covered this story. The headline reads, quote, born in the USA, is American Eagle
00:24:33.560 really using whiteness to sell chains? End quote. You know, the truly remarkable thing about that headline,
00:24:41.240 folks, given the Guardian's reputation, is that it is presented in the form of a question rather than
00:24:49.140 a statement of fact. Oh, by the way, the accompanying sidebar story is headlined, quote, the invention of
00:24:56.320 whiteness, the long history of a dangerous idea. End quote. Hey, my fellow honkies and crackers, did you
00:25:06.100 know you were invented and that you're dangerous? The Guardian story quotes Sophie Gilbert, a staff
00:25:14.740 writer at The Atlantic and author of Girl on Girl, a book which explores how pop culture is shaped by
00:25:23.260 misogyny, which is really odd. Given that, and please, folks, don't ask me how I know this, but the term
00:25:31.560 girl on girl actually refers to a genre of pornography, but never mind. Gilbert states the
00:25:39.280 following, quote, the slogan Sidney Sweeney has good genes obviously winks at the obsession with
00:25:47.280 eugenics that is so prevalent among the modern right. End quote. Got that? Oh, I know you thought being a
00:25:56.240 conservative was all about embracing an ideology that seeks to promote and preserve
00:26:01.300 traditional institutions and customs and values, you know, like the benefits of a nuclear family.
00:26:08.340 Who knew that part of the hidden agenda of conservatives was pining for the good old days
00:26:15.240 when the KKK carried out lynching and the idea of eugenics was actually a thing. At this point,
00:26:24.380 it's fact check time, folks. The left seems to be obsessed with eugenics. But did you know that
00:26:31.140 former NDP leader and the man credited for socialized medicine in Canada, Tommy Douglas,
00:26:37.620 was a huge proponent of eugenics? According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, Douglas in 1933 received a
00:26:46.220 master of arts and sociology from McMaster University for his thesis, the problems of the subnormal
00:26:54.840 family. In the thesis, Douglas recommended several eugenic policies, including the sterilization of mental
00:27:05.400 defectives and those incurably diseased. Gee, now that I think of it, maybe Douglas was simply ahead of the
00:27:14.040 curve, given that our own current liberal government loves the idea of medical assistance in dying.
00:27:21.280 Oh, and Douglas was also a supporter of segregation. And yet, in our great dominion, we have statues of
00:27:28.540 Tommy Douglas. We have schools named after Tommy Douglas. And in 2004, Tommy Douglas was voted as the
00:27:35.800 greatest Canadian of all time as part of a CBC TV series. Go figure. Moving on, The Guardian quotes Dr. Sarah
00:27:47.200 Sefi, a senior lecturer in gender and cultural studies at Goldsmiths University of London. Dr. Sefi
00:27:56.500 naturally agrees with Gilbert, quote, honestly, what were they thinking that a white supremacist fantasy
00:28:04.460 has permission to be aired so conspicuously, end quote. But as they used to say on those Ronco ads,
00:28:14.320 but wait, there's more. The Guardian trots out Aria Halliday. She's an associate professor in gender
00:28:21.720 and women's studies, African-American and Africana studies, and author of By Black, How Black Women
00:28:30.220 transformed US pop culture. Here's what Halliday says, quote, in recent years, we have seen an influx of media
00:28:39.000 reasserting the beauty of thin, white, blonde and blue eyed people, with many brands invested in representing
00:28:47.820 the wholesomeness and sanctity of conservative white values, end quote. Oh, no, you mean not only whiteness, but
00:28:57.760 thinness, too?
00:29:03.860 You know, folks, I'm experiencing deja vu here. Aria Halliday very much reminds me of Jill Andrew,
00:29:11.100 who until last year was actually an Ontario MPP. But back in 2017, she slammed the Toronto Transit
00:29:20.040 Commission for running a beautiful ad campaign featuring ballet performers who were, well, you
00:29:26.940 guessed it, physically fit and for the most part, white. Check out an excerpt of a monologue I recorded
00:29:34.840 back then.
00:29:36.140 Oh, goody. Jill Andrew, the anti-body shaming crusader, is at it again. This time, Jill's upset with an ad
00:29:43.340 campaign running in Toronto's public transit system. The offending ads are for the National Ballet of Canada, and it
00:29:50.320 showcases dancers doing their shtick in and around transit vehicles. So what's not to love? Well, according to our
00:29:57.900 plus-size social justice warrior, this ad campaign promotes unhealthy body image stereotypes. Yeah, imagine that.
00:30:05.840 Photographs depicting physically fit dancers is somehow triggering Jill Andrew. Now, before I get into the
00:30:13.420 nitty-gritty details, astute viewers of The Rebel might recall that we featured Jill in this space several
00:30:19.160 months ago. Jill's the co-founder of something called the Body Confidence Canada Awards. When we last checked
00:30:25.580 in on Jill the Thrill, she was meeting with the Ontario Human Rights Commissioner to discuss possible changes
00:30:31.180 to the Ontario Human Rights Code. Jill wants to make it illegal to discriminate against a person due to
00:30:36.760 their weight, size, or body shape. In any event, here's a clip of Jill in action when she delivered
00:30:42.660 a speech on fat shaming and what she calls the thin epidemic.
00:30:47.760 I have come to see now just how fat and black embodiment, how excesses of fatness and blackness
00:30:57.880 make some people uncomfortable, especially those who were born and raised on the milk and honey,
00:31:07.500 the Western comforts of Eurocentric and thin-centric body and beauty ideals.
00:31:14.960 Yikes. But fear not, folks, because Jill does have some tips on how to combat Eurocentric fat shaming.
00:31:23.420 One of the tips is, when I get out of the shower, buck naked, I just stand there and say, in my best
00:31:32.120 Broadway voice, I'm a big, bright, shining star, and I'm gonna shine forever.
00:31:40.160 Uh, I think I feel my white privilege shrinking right now.
00:31:44.720 You know, how in blue hell does a kook like that get elected and then re-elected?
00:31:51.180 Moving on, the Guardian then embraces a type of reverse body shaming against Sweeney,
00:31:58.820 noting, quote,
00:32:00.080 Critics have also zeroed in on the campaign's focus on Sweeney's body.
00:32:06.660 In one clip, the camera zooms in on the actor's breasts,
00:32:12.180 lingering in a way that Gilbert sees as leering and unapologetic, end quote.
00:32:18.980 Oh my god in heaven!
00:32:21.420 The camera focused in on the body of a model?
00:32:26.540 A model who has magnificent mammary glands?
00:32:30.320 But wait a minute, isn't that the very point of being a model?
00:32:34.120 You know, being the subject of the camera's lens?
00:32:37.440 Another thing, as a heterosexual male with passable eyesight,
00:32:43.200 I find Sidney Sweeney to be drop-dead gorgeous.
00:32:47.080 I would imagine millions of others do also, both male and female.
00:32:51.320 But why are her critics slamming her due to her impressive bust line?
00:32:58.540 Again, I thought body shaming was offside these days.
00:33:02.920 And secondly, the loony left had nothing but adoration for Cary Lemieux.
00:33:10.740 He's the male nut bar shop teacher who donned fake Z-cup breasts
00:33:16.160 in order to present himself as a grotesque caricature of a female.
00:33:22.040 Can someone kindly explain what the rules are when it comes to beauty and femininity?
00:33:28.160 At this stage, I must point out a very important theme
00:33:32.220 when it comes to the manufactured Sidney Sweeney controversy,
00:33:37.220 which is to say the vast majority of attacks Sweeney is receiving
00:33:42.060 are not coming from men.
00:33:45.000 No, it is her fellow women who are responsible for this freakout.
00:33:50.640 Don't you find that odd?
00:33:52.440 That the left is obsessed with so-called toxic masculinity?
00:33:57.320 That the left believes toxic masculinity is the biggest clear and present danger
00:34:03.140 when it comes to women?
00:34:05.160 But I say it ain't so.
00:34:07.200 I think the biggest threat to womanhood these days is toxic femininity.
00:34:12.240 Indeed, who do you think the biggest cheerleaders are for so-called trans women?
00:34:18.440 You know, those biological men pretending to be women?
00:34:21.340 Oh, it's not men.
00:34:23.300 No, it's women.
00:34:25.560 Be it female sports, female change rooms, female bathrooms, female shelters,
00:34:30.340 and even female prisons.
00:34:32.420 It is almost always the woke and indoctrinated woman
00:34:35.940 who are leading the charge for the ongoing invasion of female safe spaces.
00:34:42.360 And yes, I do have examples.
00:34:44.220 You might remember a few years ago, a reprobate called Cody Detremont
00:34:48.880 decided to identify as a female, Desiree Anderson.
00:34:53.480 This was his way to get into a female shelter in Windsor, Ontario.
00:34:57.400 And guess what?
00:34:58.080 It worked.
00:34:59.840 Alas, within a few days, Cody slash Desiree was charged with sexual assault.
00:35:06.600 Gee, nobody saw that coming.
00:35:07.860 Now, we visited the shelter in 2023 to try to get answers.
00:35:12.940 Shockingly, the young, woke female shelter employees
00:35:16.340 were more concerned about me misgendering Desiree
00:35:20.860 than the alleged crime that he committed here.
00:35:24.240 Check it out.
00:35:25.020 My question is, how does a biological male get into a female shelter, ma'am?
00:35:31.260 It was a transgender woman.
00:35:32.860 So that's my only comment that I'm going to say about that.
00:35:35.560 OK, but at the end of the day, that's a man, right?
00:35:38.500 Transgender woman.
00:35:40.640 But don't you see that there is an inherent danger?
00:35:44.100 That's my only comment.
00:35:44.440 That's my only comment.
00:35:45.300 She's a transgender woman.
00:35:46.520 So we take trans women here because they are women.
00:35:49.380 So that's our only comment.
00:35:51.540 So you support that policy of...
00:35:54.060 Do I support transgender women?
00:35:55.360 Of course I do.
00:35:56.400 Getting into a safe space with real biological women.
00:36:00.040 If it's a transgender woman, we support them with what they need.
00:36:03.220 And yet he carried out an assault.
00:36:06.180 So I can't comment on that because I wasn't here when that happened.
00:36:09.120 But I have to ask you guys not to be filming near property
00:36:12.560 because someone could be passing by in the background.
00:36:15.000 And I can't give you any information regarding this client anymore because...
00:36:18.600 Well, we're not interested in anyone here.
00:36:20.700 We're standing on a public sidewalk, ma'am.
00:36:22.620 We're not coming on your property.
00:36:23.760 It's just that the risk of a phone screen, if someone does walk in the background,
00:36:27.600 it is just a safety thing for our clients.
00:36:29.240 So I have to ask you guys to continue your business elsewhere respectfully.
00:36:33.260 Well, what I can do is that if we capture anyone on camera, we can blur their faces
00:36:37.820 so you don't have to worry about them being identified.
00:36:40.780 We just find it is egregious and outrageous that you're essentially letting the fox into the henhouse,
00:36:47.900 a biological male with women who...
00:36:52.180 Well, let's face it.
00:36:52.920 This is a safe space for real women.
00:36:55.100 And you don't have a problem with that.
00:36:56.800 It's not that.
00:36:57.820 We also do have male clients here as well if they're a part of a family unit.
00:37:01.980 But when it comes to transgender women, they are still women.
00:37:04.800 And we take things very seriously when things happen to our clients and we go from there.
00:37:08.320 But we do support trans women still regardless in general.
00:37:12.100 So I'm not going to comment on this anymore.
00:37:14.640 Okay.
00:37:15.060 Because there is...
00:37:16.000 I am uncomfortable that you guys are filming here.
00:37:18.220 Okay.
00:37:18.480 Regardless of you guys being on public property, respectfully, I think you guys just need to carry on.
00:37:23.240 Lady Lock, rep's number, if you have any more questions, please don't film me.
00:37:26.260 Thank you.
00:37:26.900 Well, you're in a public place.
00:37:28.740 No, I'm actually at my workplace.
00:37:30.720 But please don't film me.
00:37:32.040 Well, there's no expectation of privacy in an open place like this, ma'am.
00:37:35.960 So we are going to have to call the police.
00:37:37.540 Okay, for standing on a sidewalk?
00:37:39.260 Don't film me.
00:37:39.880 Thank you.
00:37:40.280 Okay, but you approached us.
00:37:42.520 You interrupted us.
00:37:43.540 I'm approaching you because you're filming my clients and our property.
00:37:46.540 No, we're not filming your clients.
00:37:48.080 You're quite wrong about that.
00:37:49.700 And what's your opinion of a biological man staying with biological...
00:37:54.120 I'm just going to call the police.
00:37:56.060 Oh, by the way, Cody slash Desiree has since transitioned yet again.
00:38:02.160 He's now a cat.
00:38:03.760 I'm not making this up as to whether he is a male or female cat.
00:38:08.460 Sorry, folks, that's way above my pay grade.
00:38:12.120 And in the wacky world of sports these days, male invaders are also championed by woman.
00:38:18.860 Check out this example.
00:38:20.600 A female is going to bat for a male rugby player, Tommy Ash Davis.
00:38:25.680 Davis was playing rugby in Fergus, Ontario a while back and injuring female players in the process.
00:38:32.040 This is, of course, contrary to the sports international governing body, World Rugby.
00:38:37.020 But in Canada, we apparently subscribe to the saying, if it's trans, it's good.
00:38:41.660 And if it's good, it's trans.
00:38:43.360 Check it out.
00:38:44.620 Yeah, 34, 21.
00:38:46.100 Mr. Davis, Ash, why are you doing this?
00:38:51.720 I'm David Menzies, Rebel News.
00:38:53.040 Hi.
00:38:53.420 No, you're not really a part of this.
00:38:55.700 Human rights.
00:38:56.280 What about the human rights of biological women being injured by this man?
00:39:00.060 As a mother, why would you expose your kids to a misogynist?
00:39:03.060 Because that is my partner.
00:39:04.760 That is my wife that you are being an asshole.
00:39:08.460 Sorry, he's a lesbian?
00:39:10.040 It's not a sport.
00:39:11.580 It's not an issue.
00:39:13.000 I'm a registered social worker, sir, and I demand human rights for everybody.
00:39:17.320 Oh, okay.
00:39:17.700 They just...
00:39:18.480 Yeah, what's a biological female?
00:39:22.720 How do you feel about a biological male playing in rugby?
00:39:25.560 Thank you.
00:39:26.380 I don't really give a f***.
00:39:28.280 Meanwhile, on the volleyball court, a while back, we discovered that five out of 12 starting players
00:39:35.820 at a female varsity volleyball game were actually biological men.
00:39:41.920 That's outrageous.
00:39:43.000 But check out how the den mother for the Centennial Colts tried to shut us down in terms of recording.
00:39:50.980 Can you shut up?
00:39:52.120 What?
00:39:52.600 Oh, wow.
00:39:53.200 Answer my question.
00:39:54.020 Did we trigger you?
00:39:55.120 Sir, sir, why are you playing with the woman?
00:39:57.280 Why are you taking away a real woman's spot?
00:39:59.540 I'm just asking questions.
00:40:01.160 You're all out over here.
00:40:01.900 Who are you, ma'am?
00:40:03.160 You're all out over here.
00:40:04.500 Why?
00:40:05.360 Hey, don't touch me.
00:40:06.960 Why are you allowing men to play with biological females?
00:40:09.880 Sir, why are you taking away a spot from a real woman?
00:40:13.340 Hey, excuse me.
00:40:14.420 Don't touch me, sir.
00:40:15.300 You're not allowed to.
00:40:15.680 Don't touch me.
00:40:16.460 Don't touch me.
00:40:17.240 What's wrong with you?
00:40:17.620 Why are men playing with women?
00:40:19.300 We saw it with our own eyes.
00:40:20.720 Again, I repeat, the attack on women is a result of toxic femininity, not masculinity.
00:40:28.880 And by the way, whatever happened to Mama Bear?
00:40:31.640 Also, I know some might find the following to be offside, but since the so-called experts quoted in the Guardian article have no problem whatsoever body shaming Sidney Sweeney for being beautiful and have no issue with slandering her for suggesting that she's a white supremacist.
00:40:54.640 Well, then, in the department of what's good for the gander is good for the goose, let's take inventory of Sweeney's critic, shall we?
00:41:03.820 Here's a photo of Sophie Gilbert.
00:41:06.760 And here's Sarah Safai.
00:41:10.020 And finally, here's Aria Holiday.
00:41:13.940 Sorry, but that classic line uttered by Andrew Robinson in Dirty Harry springs to mind.
00:41:21.100 Please, I scare easy.
00:41:23.160 Oh, don't you dare call me the hater here, folks, because it is these mean girls and so many more that are beating up on Sidney Sweeney, all because she's gorgeous and white and has a really great rack.
00:41:38.040 I mean, really?
00:41:39.140 And apparently, we can't portray that sort of role model.
00:41:43.180 No, not in the post-George Floyd era, can we?
00:41:47.200 Indeed, I'm sure these gender studies geniuses would have much preferred that American Eagle used Tess Holiday for its ad campaign.
00:41:56.540 Granted, we're talking a lot of denim here, and I'm not sure if American Eagle stalks jeans in quintuple XL.
00:42:03.940 But Tess is the sort of white model who is acceptable by the left these days because she's fat.
00:42:12.640 You know, it's hard to believe Tess actually made the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine a few years ago.
00:42:19.120 And check out that appetizing cover line for the story on Tess.
00:42:25.120 Quote, Tess Holiday wants the haters to kiss her ass.
00:42:30.980 Um, all of it?
00:42:32.820 Cling tenaciously to my buttocks!
00:42:35.280 Both of them?
00:42:35.980 Look, full disclosure, I'm not into the stereotypical skinny mini supermodel.
00:42:45.460 I adore curvy woman.
00:42:47.700 I think most men do.
00:42:49.840 But there is a line between voluptuous and morbid obesity.
00:42:53.860 Which is to say, if Tess Holiday does not do something about her weight, she will experience a shorter lifespan, and her existence will be punctuated with ailments ranging from diabetes to cardiac arrest.
00:43:10.820 I would strongly argue a little bit of body shaming directed at Tess Holiday.
00:43:17.880 That would make for a life-saving intervention, don't you think?
00:43:22.500 But, no.
00:43:24.320 Nevertheless, in the aftermath of the loony left freaking out about the American Eagle jeans campaign, I braced myself for what I thought would be the inevitable.
00:43:36.080 You know, American Eagle announcing it would discontinue the ad campaign, and the company issuing a groveling apology.
00:43:44.040 And American Eagle announcing that, moving forward, its models would no longer resemble Sexy Alexei, but rather Large Marge.
00:43:54.040 And, of course, that American Eagle would immediately hire a consultant to implement a diversity, equity, and inclusion program in the company.
00:44:02.860 But you know something?
00:44:05.100 None of that happened.
00:44:06.800 Rather, American Eagle stood its ground.
00:44:10.860 Last Friday, the company posted the following statement on its Instagram account, quote,
00:44:17.520 The ad campaign is and always was about the jeans.
00:44:21.220 Her jeans, her story, will continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence their way.
00:44:30.800 Great jeans look good on everyone, end quote.
00:44:34.520 Oh, by the way, for what it's worth, the CEO and the executive chairman of American Eagle is Jay Schottenstein.
00:44:42.100 Jay is Jewish.
00:44:44.760 Do you really think a Jewish executive would greenlight an ad campaign that would channel the Nazi-inspired eugenics movement?
00:44:52.440 I mean, really?
00:44:53.000 Even more delicious is that on social media, it's not American Eagle getting scorched, but rather, it's insufferable critics.
00:45:05.020 Check out an excerpt from this wonderful parody song that emerged just the other day.
00:45:10.860 Sydney hit the screen in dim, blonde and smiling, clean and bright.
00:45:22.420 American Eagle lit the fire, and the woke crowd cried all night.
00:45:29.860 Said this looks too perfect, dangerous, too symmetrical, too white.
00:45:36.740 And to fight back, according to one ex-poster, liberal women are allegedly buying American Eagle jeans to burn this apparel?
00:45:47.140 Um, isn't this more proof that liberalism is now a mental disorder?
00:45:52.640 You see, if I own stock in American Eagle, I could care less if you are wearing the jeans or incinerating this apparel.
00:46:01.100 Hey, as long as you're buying those pants, I'm good.
00:46:04.420 Oh, and not to be a nitpicker here, but isn't the unnecessary incineration of stuff, you know, bad for the environment?
00:46:14.760 What would Greta Thunberg say?
00:46:17.080 How dare you?
00:46:18.120 Oh, and speaking of stock, did you know that American Eagle is laughing all the way to the bank these days?
00:46:25.960 That's because American Eagle's stock value is now...
00:46:30.100 How did the friendly giant used to put it?
00:46:33.320 Way up, and I'll call Rusty.
00:46:38.060 Yep, it's way up at the time of broadcast American Eagle's stock had soared by 20%.
00:46:46.340 20%!
00:46:47.860 You know, the other day, I specifically went out of my way to visit the American Eagle store at the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ontario.
00:46:57.120 And you know what, folks?
00:47:01.200 I purchased a pair of American Eagle pants.
00:47:06.340 And here's the thing.
00:47:07.720 This was the first time I had shopped at American Eagle.
00:47:10.760 It won't be the last time, because I want to support those corporations that are taking a stance against madness.
00:47:20.320 I suspect there are millions who think likewise, hence the surging stock value.
00:47:27.060 And if you were to believe the garbage being spewed by the mainstream media, you would think that an American Eagle store would resemble a Ku Klux Klan clubhouse.
00:47:39.560 Nothing could be further from the truth.
00:47:42.240 Now, if anything, the aftermath of the American Eagle non-controversy is really the polar opposite of the Bud Light fiasco from two years ago.
00:48:02.920 That's when Dylan Mulvaney, who identifies as some sort of a trans woman, was recruited as the brand ambassador for Bud Light.
00:48:14.720 Remember this?
00:48:16.380 Hi. Impressive carrying skills, right?
00:48:19.200 I got some Bud Lights for us.
00:48:21.200 So, I kept hearing about this thing called March Madness, and I thought we were all just having a hectic month.
00:48:27.400 But it turns out it has something to do with sports.
00:48:30.300 And I'm not sure exactly which sport, but either way, it's a cause to celebrate.
00:48:37.340 This month, I celebrated my Day 365 of Womanhood, and Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever, a can with my face on it.
00:48:46.380 Check out my Instagram story to see how you can enjoy March Madness with Bud Light and maybe win some money, too.
00:48:52.640 Love ya!
00:48:54.060 Cheers!
00:48:55.280 Go team!
00:48:56.220 Whatever team you love, I love, too.
00:48:58.680 Okay.
00:49:01.400 Love ya.
00:49:02.120 Okay.
00:49:02.620 Break a leg.
00:49:03.760 Woo!
00:49:04.200 Woo!
00:49:04.720 Well, the backlash hit Bud Light like a tsunami, thanks to this gross, fake female preaching to Bud Light's core audience.
00:49:15.540 Virtually overnight, the stock value for Anheuser-Busch plunged by U.S. $27 billion.
00:49:26.540 As well as a brand, Bud Light instantly forfeited its position as America's number one beer.
00:49:34.020 Some two years later, the brewer has yet to fully recover.
00:49:37.740 But get this, in the Department of Toxic Femininity, can you guess who was the genius responsible for this fiasco?
00:49:47.500 Well, it was Elisa Heinrinscheid, Bud Light's head of marketing.
00:49:53.680 Here is the amazing Elisa in her own words.
00:49:57.520 I'm a businesswoman.
00:49:59.020 I had a really clear job to do when I took over Bud Light.
00:50:02.240 And it was, this brand is in decline.
00:50:05.540 It's been in decline for a really long time.
00:50:07.680 And if we do not attract young drinkers to come and drink this brand, there will be no future for Bud Light.
00:50:14.160 So I had this super clear mandate.
00:50:16.000 It's like, we need to evolve and elevate this incredibly iconic brand.
00:50:20.880 And my, what I brought to that was a belief in, okay, what does evolve and elevate mean?
00:50:28.460 It means inclusivity.
00:50:29.880 It means shifting the tone.
00:50:31.800 It means having a campaign that's truly inclusive and feels lighter and brighter and different and appeals to women and to men.
00:50:40.520 And representation is at sort of the heart of evolution.
00:50:43.820 You've got to see people who reflect you in the work.
00:50:47.360 And we had this hangover.
00:50:49.040 I mean, Bud Light had been kind of a brand of fratty, kind of out-of-touch humor.
00:50:57.720 And it was really important that we had another approach.
00:51:02.220 Yeah, this marketing genius wanted Bud Light to be more inclusive.
00:51:07.360 And in order to accomplish inclusivity, she wanted to exclude one of the biggest demographics of Bud Light, that being frat boys.
00:51:19.840 You know, those guys carrying out cases of Bud Light from the liquor store for their weekend parties.
00:51:26.420 And she also wanted to include more trans women to buy Bud Light.
00:51:33.740 Really?
00:51:34.260 Trans women?
00:51:35.200 A demographic that is maybe a percent of a percent of a percent?
00:51:40.880 Unbelievable.
00:51:41.540 In the final analysis, the Bud Light fiasco and the American Eagle triumph are about far more than simply beer and blue jeans.
00:51:53.720 Rather, these two case studies prove that the vast majority of normal, decent, well-meaning people are saying enough is enough.
00:52:05.380 Enough with the wokeism.
00:52:07.220 Enough with the trans sanity.
00:52:09.200 Enough with the unholy trinity of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
00:52:13.540 Enough with racism directed at white people.
00:52:17.620 And another thing, American Eagle spent some U.S. $40 million on its Sidney Sweeney ad campaign.
00:52:27.800 I would argue that by now, the company has received easily more than $1 billion in ancillary publicity.
00:52:38.380 And you can't buy that kind of coverage.
00:52:41.080 Meanwhile, to this day, there is still a legion of beer drinkers who would rather go thirsty than drink Bud Light.
00:52:50.240 Last word goes to President Trump, who was unable to resist weighing in on the American Eagle controversy.
00:52:57.640 On Truth Social, he posted the following, quote,
00:53:01.960 Being woke is for losers.
00:53:05.200 And folks, clearly, some companies are getting the message, and those are the companies moving forward, and that will prosper in the future.
00:53:25.200 Hey, welcome back.
00:53:26.200 I'm still here.
00:53:26.840 Let me read to you some letters that we received on my trip to the U.K. to see Tommy.
00:53:31.480 Tommy, Hendon Gooner, says, Tommy needs to wear his own body cam for whenever he is out and about.
00:53:37.840 I think that's a really good idea.
00:53:39.400 I just don't think he can be in London subways by himself anymore.
00:53:43.620 He's too well-known, and even if only one in a hundred people would do something terrible like attack him,
00:53:50.260 well, you go to the London tube, you're going to see hundreds of people.
00:53:53.880 So it's actually lucky that he got out unscathed.
00:53:57.040 I'm sorry that the guy who went after him was hurt so badly.
00:53:59.760 I think Tommy's genuinely sorry, too.
00:54:02.000 But that's the U.K.
00:54:03.320 If you're not getting robbed randomly just for your cash, you're getting attacked, God forbid, with a knife.
00:54:11.860 It's a great idea, though.
00:54:13.120 Stay Awake says, UK and Canada are done.
00:54:15.440 I really don't know what else to do.
00:54:17.100 We petitioned.
00:54:17.860 We protested.
00:54:18.600 We made phone calls and written emails.
00:54:20.220 We've called on MPs, etc.
00:54:21.920 I feel more hope in the last month than I have actually ever in the U.K., because I see organic, authentic, grassroots movements of severely normal people, moms and dads, standing up and protesting all across the U.K.
00:54:38.080 In fact, Tommy was going to go to the Epping protests that I went to, but then he said, you know what, I'm not going to go, because then the story will be about me.
00:54:45.940 Let it be about the townspeople.
00:54:47.560 And that was a wise decision on his part.
00:54:49.820 And it was a huge turnout.
00:54:51.180 So I think that there are things cooking there.
00:54:53.460 And the Reform UK party, led by Nigel Farage, which talks about deportations, they're leading the polls.
00:55:02.080 They would actually win an election hell today.
00:55:05.620 John Lemon says, the world needs to know what the British government is doing and start sanctioning.
00:55:10.840 It's funny you say that, because Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance have both raised censorship issues with the U.K. government.
00:55:17.940 And Keir Starmer always says, oh, we've had free speech, freedom of speech here for a very long time.
00:55:21.980 Yeah, we're not as interested in the very long time part as in the today and tomorrow part.
00:55:27.400 And it wouldn't shock me if the United States made more statements about U.K. censorship and maybe even tied it to a trade deal.
00:55:34.140 Wouldn't surprise me.
00:55:36.240 Last letter from Old Gamer who says, Keir Starmer told President Donald Trump, we've had free speech in the U.K. for a long time.
00:55:43.680 Yeah, right.
00:55:44.760 Well, actually, the U.K. has had free speech for a long time.
00:55:47.860 But one of the most persuasive books on free speech, it's been a while since I've read it.
00:55:52.140 I hope I'm saying it right.
00:55:53.060 It's by John Milton.
00:55:53.880 It's called Areopagitica.
00:55:55.380 And the arguments for freedom of speech made in that book, and I haven't read it in 10 years.
00:55:59.260 I should refresh my memory.
00:56:00.760 But last time I read it, I thought, these are the best arguments ever.
00:56:04.280 And they're just as relevant in 2025 as they were hundreds of years ago when they were written.
00:56:08.700 And the U.K. really has been the world standard for freedom of expression, well, until the United States came along with their First Amendment and made it even stronger.
00:56:21.960 So, yeah, the U.K. has a great history of freedom of speech, but their present is not, I mean, as Tommy Robinson's charges prove, is not very hopeful.
00:56:31.820 Well, that's our show for today.
00:56:32.960 It's great to be back in Canada.
00:56:34.020 And I'm not going anywhere else this week.
00:56:36.020 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, see you at home.
00:56:39.740 Good night.
00:56:40.540 And keep fighting for freedom.
