00:02:48.880 preventing kids from sledding. And yes, it's all about curbing that rascally Wuhan virus, of course. 1.00

00:02:58.280 Now, back to wrestling meets government overreach. Danny Warren, also known by his wrestling name as
00:03:10.880 Hot Shot Danny Duggan, is a professional wrestler and wrestling promoter. And he just got the standard
00:03:18.460 nearly $1,300 Manitoba COVID violation fine for filming a wrestling event in a closed facility.
00:03:26.280 Now, I'll let Danny tell you the full story. Check it out. Danny, why don't you give us
00:03:32.280 the Colesnotes version of what you were doing? That normal thing that everybody used to be allowed
00:03:38.920 to do that all of a sudden, in the age of the coronavirus pandemic, is completely illegal.
00:03:44.700 Why don't you give us those details? We're putting lives at risk. That's what we're doing.
00:03:48.780 Right. Supposedly. So we had a wrestling event. CWE is, you know, a live touring company that goes
00:03:56.800 across Canada, you know, British Columbia through Quebec, producing live events. That business has
00:04:03.020 been completely gutted this past year with all the restrictions and lockdowns and things of that
00:04:07.720 nature. But we did have an event that was scheduled to take place December 4th in Winnipeg, in front of a
00:04:12.980 live audience in front of a limited capacity, based on the capacity restrictions that were allowed at
00:04:18.760 the time. That event was supposed to be an event that was not only for the live audience, but being
00:04:23.740 taped for DVD distribution, as well as a TV project we're working on. Unfortunately, about a week out,
00:04:29.960 I believe, or two weeks out from that event, capacity restrictions changed, public gatherings are
00:04:34.940 no longer allowed. So we moved the event to our private training facility. It's in a locked gated
00:04:42.500 area, barbed wire on the fences, doors locked, nobody's getting in and out, unless they're a part 1.00
00:04:47.960 of our staff. And we decided we're going to go ahead and continue with the production of the event
00:04:52.700 for our TV pilot that we're working on. And based on our knowledge of the Public Health Act that was
00:04:59.540 released, I believe, Line 70, all productions that began prior to November 12th were able to
00:05:06.640 proceed production. Ours began production with video on October 28th. So all things considered,
00:05:13.520 we were in the clear. Ah, but alas and alack, hotshot Dan Duggan, no relation to Hacksaw Jim Duggan,
00:05:20.400 I presume, was not in the clear. And folks, after almost a year of bringing you these stories,
00:05:27.680 you know how it ends, don't you? Yep, some overzealous by-law enforcement officer decides
00:05:34.000 that a controlled and safe environment is somehow a super spreader venue. So out comes the fine book
00:05:41.180 for a heaping helping of misery yet again. And joining me now with more on the day, the big burly
00:05:48.960 pro wrestlers were cruelly ticketed by those pencil neck geeks down at by-law enforcement, 1.00
00:05:55.380 is Sheila, the she-devil, Gun Reid. How you doing there, Sheila? 0.61
00:06:00.640 David, I'm great. This story was so fun for me. Not fun because a guy doing something that should
00:06:06.840 be completely legal got fined, but you know how I love wrestling. And I love fighting the government,
00:06:11.940 and it was like, this is perfect for me. I do too. And wrestlers being wrestlers,
00:06:17.740 luckily for those by-law enforcement officers, there was no smackdown being done on them. But Sheila, 0.90
00:06:24.100 those nosy parkers at by-law come unannounced and uninvited into that professional wrestling TV
00:06:31.980 taping. And then what happens? Well, as Danny tells this story, several cop cars, I think close to a
00:06:43.380 dozen cop cars turn up and by-law officers. They don't get a ticket that day, but it does disrupt
00:06:50.400 their production. And as all the police are congregating in the lot of their private,
00:06:57.220 secure, closed venue where they're taping, as the police are all congregating there,
00:07:02.280 an actual problem that requires police occurs just up the road and there's a car accident.
00:07:07.880 And so they deploy just one car to deal with that. And while the rest of them remain with the wrestlers.
00:07:13.000 But I thought it was funny that that day nobody's ticketed. But then later on, after all the big
00:07:20.740 burly wrestlers go off to their regular lives and everything is left alone to settle, a couple days
00:07:27.960 later, Danny Duggan leaves his house. And then a cop knocks on his door or by-law officer,
00:07:37.020 enforcement officer anyway, knocks on his door and tickets his wife and gives his wife the ticket 0.99
00:07:41.720 because they don't want to deal with the wrestlers, even though the wrestlers were pretty calm and
00:07:46.180 pretty level-headed when they were dealing with them the first time around at the location where
00:07:50.180 they were taping their event. Oh, what, what cowards. But you know, Sheila, what I'm trying to
00:07:55.740 understand, I know we live in a day and age of hypocrisy and double standards and one rule for thee and
00:08:02.480 one rule for me, but this was a small essential people only taping of a wrestling show that was
00:08:09.900 supposedly some kind of super spreader event. But right now, this week, we have the NHL resuming
00:08:15.860 their schedule. In Winnipeg, we have the coincidentally named the Winnipeg Jets playing
00:08:23.640 at the arena there. There are more players when you have two hockey teams, plus all the necessary
00:08:31.060 camera people, the commentators, the lighting people, et cetera, et cetera. Even in an empty building,
00:08:36.460 Sheila, what I'm saying is there was way more people at a professional hockey game. Are,
00:08:42.420 are the bylaw going to be coming out to the Winnipeg Jets home games and ticketing the hockey
00:08:47.520 players? No, of course not. I mean, and when I was talking to Danny, he told me, you know, like we,
00:08:54.020 of course, are, the capacity of what they were doing was limited over the summer. Um, and they,
00:09:00.880 you know, reduced their schedule over this summer. Danny says like his income has fallen by 90% this
00:09:07.120 year, but they still were 90, but they were still able to host events if they met all the protocols
00:09:13.760 that the government had laid out for them. And they had, and they had communicated with health
00:09:17.820 officers to make sure that they were doing everything, not just properly, but over and above
00:09:22.400 what the government was asking because they want to work. They want to, they want to practice their
00:09:26.980 sport. They're athletes, right? So they did that. And then the government says, well, we're closing
00:09:34.880 down, you know, wrestling while pro sports are finding other pro sports are finding a way to go
00:09:41.360 forward. But they were also doing something else that is completely legal. And that's do television
00:09:47.840 and video production because they were filming this as part of a pilot, um, for a show and they were
00:09:53.720 broadcasting it and they had started production before the government said, you have to stop
00:10:00.620 doing all of this. So they're producing film and television, which is completely legal and is
00:10:07.280 continuing all over Manitoba right now. But because they're wrestlers, they just fell through the cracks
00:10:13.320 and it's, it's, these rules are applied so haphazardly. None of it makes sense. There's car votes for this
00:10:21.140 industry. There's no car votes for that industry. It's just this ridiculous Swiss cheese hole of
00:10:29.120 regulations and none of it makes any sense. And if you're just trying to pay your bills, you get
00:10:34.100 punished for it with, uh, in daddy's case, you know, a $1,300 fine. You know, this breaks my heart,
00:10:40.580 Sheila. And I'll tell you why. I mean, forget about the fact that his income has fallen by 90%,
00:10:45.540 even in the best of times when you are a wrestler with an independent circuit, it is so hard to make
00:10:53.320 any money. And the risk is so great. What you're putting your body through that even when you get
00:10:58.100 to the WWE, which is a virtually a worldwide monopoly of professional wrestling, there's no
00:11:03.520 players association. If you try to form one, Vince McMahon is going to fire you. Um, there is no pension
00:11:09.440 plan. Uh, getting insurance for personal injury is almost impossible. So basically you can break
00:11:16.240 your neck in the ring and your career's over and you have no money. But these athletes, Sheila are so
00:11:24.040 passionate about their sport. They will endure that kind of high risk. The last thing they need
00:11:31.360 are these guys coming in from bylaw and law enforcement with tickets, giving them a ticket
00:11:37.060 for a crime that hasn't been committed. This is what's got me crazy about this story. You,
00:11:42.920 you brought to our attention. Well, they send out 14 cop cars to deal with these guys. And Danny is
00:11:49.100 convinced that one of the competitors snitched on him, used the snitch line, abused the snitch line
00:11:56.660 to get his production shut down. Because I suppose that other competitor wasn't willing to take the
00:12:01.240 precautions that Danny has for his athletes. But yeah, I mean, there's strong overlays here for
00:12:07.980 another professional sport that was also completely shut down over the summer here. Um, and that's
00:12:12.940 rodeo where you don't make any money unless you win. And even in the smaller rodeos, there's really
00:12:19.340 no money to be had. It's just helps you qualify for the more, um, for the bigger rodeos with bigger
00:12:24.940 payouts. And these guys are athletes and it's imperative on them that they practice their
00:12:31.720 sports, be able to maintain the level at which they practice. And they're not able to do that.
00:12:37.740 And it's through the love of the sport that they do it. And again, the government is carving out all
00:12:44.420 these exceptions for millionaires, but nothing for these smaller semi-pro athletes like Danny's
00:12:51.580 production. Well, Sheila, please keep following that story. We have to wrap it here. I'll tell

00:13:57.560 has been on the receiving end of a community smear campaign after posting a Facebook video where she
00:14:04.300 attended the New Year's Eve Freedom Rally in Vancouver, British Columbia, where my colleague
00:14:09.140 Drea Humphrey was reporting. The witch hunt for Jody comes not even a month after Coburg mayor,
00:14:15.900 John Henderson, joins the declaration for the town of Coburg to join the Coalition of Inclusive
00:14:22.220 Municipalities, which aims to foster a welcoming community to support diversity and inclusiveness
00:14:28.520 while working against racism and discrimination locally. It seems like the town of Coburg is a good
00:14:34.460 fit for this initiative because the backlash and threats Jody has received since today's North 0.84
00:14:39.900 umberland published her video on their news page is definitely a disgrace. Check out what Jody had to 0.96
00:14:46.280 say. Where do you think your personal views became newsworthy in the town of Coburg and Northumberland
00:14:51.920 County as a broader locale? Well, I've been posting my views since August, September. Being a local
00:15:00.480 realtor, I was afraid to talk out against lockdowns, talk out against restrictions, thinking it would
00:15:05.600 affect my livelihood. Something happened in August, September. I don't know if I was having a bad day
00:15:11.880 mentally, physically, or if somebody had just said something that really upset me. I've been doing a lot
00:15:17.520 of research and a lot of medical research and talking to a lot of people in the medical field.
00:15:24.140 And so I started posting. I felt that that needed to be present. Um, whether people agreed with me or
00:15:32.820 not, I was okay with that. I, and if you go through my Facebook, you'll see there are opposing opinions

00:16:10.260 whole issue was. I've not, it's not been a secret. I'm big on honesty and transparency. So when I went to
00:16:17.560 the new year's Eve rally, the freedom rally, um, I, and it was a last minute thing. I was driving my
00:16:24.600 daughter back to BC. She bought a vehicle while she was home for the Christmas break. I didn't want her 1.00
00:16:29.120 driving back to BC by herself. Her friend had canceled out last minute. So last minute, I'm now driving my
00:16:35.100 daughter back to BC. Can't cross the States because there's land travel is not allowed. So we had to drive
00:16:41.540 through Northern Ontario and then across the provinces that way. So being a mom, I'm going,
00:16:49.960 I'm coming with you. So on one of my rests, that's when I saw the poster for the new year's Eve freedom
00:16:57.400 rally. And so I posed the question, is this real? And Vlad, um, sent me a note back through Facebook
00:17:05.860 saying, yes, this is very real. So I again posed the question, well, I'm from Ontario and I'm actually
00:17:13.320 going to be in BC on this date. Um, I'm, I'm coming. And he said, well, if you come, I've got hugs for
00:17:20.680 you. So when I got there, I sought him out. I got my hug. Yes. Jody Ledgerwood got a hug. All right.
00:17:27.340 But that wasn't the only thing she received for attending that new year's Eve hugs over mass
00:17:32.900 freedom rally in Vancouver. Indeed. Jody was soon subjected to a witch hunt for having the temerity
00:17:40.220 to, well, legally have some fun. And even though Jody has been an ardent follower of the Wuhan virus
00:17:48.320 protocols as set out by the Northumberland Hills Association of Realtors, where she sits on the board
00:17:55.420 and was a past president. Well, the COVID Karens want their pound of flesh. And so it was that 0.86
00:18:02.880 the board has asked Jody to voluntarily resign. And incredibly, Jody hasn't been given a chance
00:18:10.720 to even plead her case, provide any form of feedback or answer any questions. It's a bluntly worded letter
00:18:19.280 that essentially states resign or else. And joining me now to discuss this latest egregious case of
00:18:27.940 someone being called out by the cancel culture mob is Tamara Ugolini. Welcome to Rebel Roundup, 0.99

00:18:41.260 Jody has received ranges from, well, the vulgar to the profane. You would think she was a serial
00:18:47.480 killer or something, as opposed to someone who celebrated New Year's Eve in BC, which we should
00:18:53.200 point out, was perfectly legal. What's your take on the vile treatment this lady has received? 1.00
00:19:02.120 At this point, it's not surprising, which is very sad and unfortunate. The stories that I've been
00:19:08.460 covering over the last several weeks, few months, the negativity and the aggressiveness against any
00:19:16.860 dissenting voice has just increased and heightened exponentially. I'm not surprised. I'm very
00:19:23.900 disappointed in the town of Coburg. I mean, especially I pointed out that the mayor here has
00:19:31.040 signed this declaration for the town of Coburg to join the inclusive, to be an inclusive community.
00:19:39.000 And here we see someone who's exercised their lawful right to, A, travel to bring her daughter
00:19:45.780 back to university in BC, who simultaneously wanted to exercise her, again, lawful right to protest 0.98
00:19:54.900 and assemble peacefully. And look at what the backlash that she's received. I mean,
00:20:01.440 how inclusive and tolerant is that?
00:20:02.980 You know, Tamara, I think there is an undercurrent here that we're going to see play out to greater
00:20:10.080 effect in 2021 and the years to come. And that is, if you're going to do something that, I mean,
00:20:16.640 what she did, let's be clear, it wasn't illegal. It was just in certain circles, socially unacceptable. 1.00
00:20:22.840 So don't get yourself on social media. Don't post anything on Facebook and forget about a face mask.

00:20:44.220 Well, that's a great point. I mean, what happened to being in a free and democratic society where we could
00:20:49.860 engage in those discussions and have debates and have alternative points of view brought to the table
00:20:55.960 to figure out solutions and situations that make sense and include all aspects of an argument.
00:21:05.380 Yeah, it's scary times. I mean, look at what Randy Hillier, he posted that photo of his family
00:21:10.080 gathering for Christmas. And he says, you know, post it on social media, show people we're living
00:21:15.660 normally because we know, I know, you can see based on all of the politicians and hospital CEOs and
00:21:23.940 various people in these high up positions where they're traveling to their luxurious destinations.
00:21:29.760 I mean, people are still doing these things. They're just hiding it. And so, you know, when someone
00:21:36.200 like Jodie Ledgerwood is putting it out on the table for everyone to see to say, hey, look, this is how
00:21:40.940 New Year's Eve should be spent. And I'm going to continue to live my life not in fear. I mean,
00:21:47.840 it's just two sides of the pendulum. And people need to realize that there's more people out there
00:21:54.080 doing these very same things. They're just hiding it. You know, that's an excellent point, Tamara. And
00:21:59.100 these are the people that are admonishing us to behave or else. And then you have somebody like
00:22:05.300 the finance minister, arguably the number one guy after the premier going to St. Bart's over
00:22:10.860 the Christmas holiday. And actually, and even worse, pre-taping fireside chats when he's wearing a
00:22:18.340 sweater when he's in 33 degrees centigrade temperature on the beach. It is so appalling.
00:22:24.520 But the thing I worry about, Jodie, is that whether or not they make her walk the plank from the board,
00:22:32.800 that's one thing. The other thing, her bread and butter is, of course, selling real estate. 1.00
00:22:37.700 Tamara, do you think she is going to pay an economic price, that she's going to be made out 0.93
00:22:44.920 as some kind of pariah, and that, you know, there'll be an agenda basically dissuading people,
00:22:53.580 sellers and buyers, from doing business with this woman, and truly economically punishing her 0.71
00:22:59.560 for, again, something that wasn't illegal in the first place?
00:23:03.340 Well, I think there's two parts to that. So Jodie is an independent realtor, and she explained to me
00:23:08.580 off camera that the reason why she's part of these boards and organizations is because
00:23:12.780 they give the support to her as an independent that she might otherwise not receive because she's
00:23:19.580 not part of like REMAX or real, the realtor associations. So if she loses that, that's a valuable
00:23:27.400 part and a valuable asset to her business. So that's unfortunate. But I think that although
00:23:33.560 she's received so much hate and backlash, there has been a lot of what we typically refer to as the
00:23:39.560 silent majority coming out silently behind the scenes in support of what she's doing. And I mean,
00:23:45.780 personally, my the realtor that I use in the Northumberland region was one who spoke out against
00:23:52.480 Jodie. And so I'm choosing Jodie. So Jodie's gained a client there potentially in the future.
00:23:59.220 And I know that there's many others that have rallied around her to support what she's doing
00:24:04.300 and support her bravery and speaking out. So it could really go either way. But I think there is
00:24:11.140 a big silent majority here that sadly, we don't see out in doing these witch hunts and these smear
00:24:17.580 campaigns. And those are who will will turn this around. Well, Tamara, we have to wrap it here. But
00:24:23.840 please pass along to Jodie that if I ever need property in that region of the land, and granted,
00:24:29.760 I have to check tomorrow 649 numbers. I will definitely seek out Jodie as the realtor of record.
00:24:39.100 But on a more serious note, it is so sad, though, isn't it that we live in this cancel culture. And as
00:24:45.400 we've seen in the last several days, going back to the raid on Capitol Hill, we've seen none other
00:24:52.620 than the President of the United States being cancelled and de-platformed. I guess if it can
00:24:57.900 happen to a President of the United States, it can happen to anyone, can't it?
00:25:04.080 Who's in control? Is it big tech or elected officials?
