00:00:00.000 Hello, my rebels. We have a very important, long, interesting, colorful podcast for you today.
00:00:07.660 Shocking, really. Our reporter David Menzies was arrested and handcuffed at a conservative event.
00:00:13.360 Just unbelievable. I'll explain it the best I can, and then I have a sit-down with David
00:00:22.220 for an hour. Once he was let go of handcuffs and came back to our office, I think you'll find it
00:00:27.760 fascinating. Folks, before you go, can you do me a favor and go to premium.rebelnews.com,
00:00:33.620 premium.rebelnews.com. The podcast is free, but if you sign up for eight bucks a month,
00:00:40.120 you get the video version of the podcast, and you've got to see the arrest. I mean, listen,
00:00:45.220 I understand podcasts are great for when you're commuting or doing other things with your eyes,
00:00:49.980 but you've got to see the video of David being arrested. You've got to see the video of him
00:00:54.420 being manhandled. You've got to see the video of him being hit by the bus. It's eight bucks a month.
00:01:01.080 Go to premium.rebelnews.com. It's 80 bucks for the whole year. That's even cheaper.
00:01:05.580 And if you enter the coupon code podcast, it's even cheaper still. All right, here's today's crazy show.
00:01:10.760 Tonight, for the first time ever, a Canadian journalist has been arrested
00:01:30.440 at a political campaign. Oh, and it's our own David Menzies. It's September 30th,
00:01:35.800 and this is The Astro Levant Show. Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:43.560 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer. The only thing I have to say to the government
00:01:49.580 about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:53.500 Well, I had plans to talk to you about so many things today, about how the PPC party had a big event
00:02:06.280 that Antifa crashed, and they caused a scene. Did you see this video online? Just shocking.
00:02:14.620 Antifa, including masked thugs, screaming at an old lady physically blocking her walker.
00:02:22.180 Did you see this? Take a look.
00:02:23.880 Nazis come off our streets!
00:02:39.940 I thought that was shocking, and it said a lot about who the real extremists are in Canada.
00:02:50.360 It said a lot about deplatforming. I was going to talk about that. I was going to talk about the former
00:02:56.060 Supreme Court of Canada, Chief Justice, and her insane revelation that she, I just can't even
00:03:04.160 believe she says this. She says she wanted to name her dog Stephen Harper so she could say,
00:03:08.520 sit, Harper, sit. This is a joke from someone who for 40 years was a judge, only now that she's done
00:03:14.480 showing how vicious and partisan she was. Did you see that clip? Take a look.
00:03:18.340 You got a dog, eh? You almost named him Harper?
00:03:20.540 Oh, it was a bit of a joke, but actually I was, I was, I thought it would be great because I like
00:03:25.580 the name Harper. And I thought, it just seemed, I thought I could say, I joked to my husband that
00:03:32.480 we could say, Harper sit, Harper lie down, bad boy Harper. And it was a little bit of a household joke,
00:03:39.300 not intended maliciously at all. But in the end, I realized I'd have to go down to the dog park and
00:03:44.740 say all those things in front of all the other people walking their dogs.
00:03:47.780 And they'd read something in a way.
00:03:49.200 And they'd read something. So I called him Mr. Darcy out of pride and prejudice.
00:03:55.800 Oh, I was going to talk about these things and more, had started my work today. And then
00:04:00.760 I got a phone call. David Menzies was kicked out of a conservative party campaign event.
00:04:10.660 Now that bothered me, but frankly, it's not the first time that's happened to us.
00:04:14.720 But then I got another phone call. David Menzies had been arrested and handcuffed. I had never heard
00:04:26.300 of that before in Canada. I have heard about that in the United Kingdom with Tommy Robinson,
00:04:31.140 but you heard me say it a dozen times. That's a dystopian future that we are nowhere near.
00:04:36.700 David Menzies, handcuffed by police at a campaign event. And if you know David Menzies like I do,
00:04:42.940 you know he's very polite. He's not rough. He doesn't swear. He doesn't shout. He doesn't push.
00:04:49.800 How could they have arrested him? Well, I spent much of the day on that, talking to him.
00:04:55.780 And then when police came and took away his phone, talking to a lawyer, trying to find him,
00:04:59.980 seeing if we needed to bail him out. By the time we were legally ready, the police had actually
00:05:06.400 let him go. Well, the day went by. And so I'm afraid my original plans for a monologue
00:05:12.100 went to the wayside. I would like to show you two videos that I produced during the course of the day
00:05:18.400 today. And I'll ask your forgiveness for putting them as my show tonight, simply because I've been
00:05:25.120 working all day on the case of David Menzies and Andrew Scheer. It was Andrew Scheer that did this
00:05:32.460 to David. I want to show you two parts. The first is a video I did earlier in the day, describing what
00:05:39.960 I knew when it broke. Here, watch this video. It outlines my understanding as of around 1 p.m.
00:05:48.660 Then come right back after that video, because after we aired that video, David himself came back
00:05:56.160 to the office and he sat down with me and we had a live hour-long debrief. And we styled it
00:06:03.880 as a YouTube super chat. You know what that is? That's a live chat with our viewers. And we did that
00:06:10.760 about 3.45 p.m. if memory serves. And we took questions and calls from viewers through that.
00:06:17.840 About an hour. So it's very long. But I think you'll find it riveting. David said a lot of
00:06:24.680 things I did not know, including he was personally escorted into the conservative event by a conservative
00:06:31.100 staffer. And yet he was thrown out, physically pushed. That's on tape. That he was arrested and
00:06:38.400 handcuffed even after Andrew Scheer and all the campaign had left. And that it was the Durham police
00:06:46.960 that set him free. The RCMP, for some weird reason, were trying to throw him in jail. Crazy,
00:06:54.360 crazy. Let me explain. Here is the video that had the state of the art of my knowledge of this case
00:06:59.300 at about 1 p.m. Take a look. Listen, I know I'm not part of Jerry Diaz's uniform union, but it'd be nice
00:07:04.960 if you gentlemen and lady would be, give some solidarity. Can I not talk to these members of
00:07:11.600 the press? Do we have freedom of press here? Do we or not? Pardon me? So this is, I don't know,
00:07:22.020 I don't know why I'm being arrested. I can't believe it. We sent David the menzoid menzies
00:07:30.220 to report from an Andrew Scheer campaign event like we normally do. CBC journalists were welcome
00:07:35.100 today, but David was kicked out. They actually sent police to throw him out. He hadn't even done
00:07:41.400 anything. He hadn't even been let in yet. Take a look.
00:07:43.600 Sir, sir, sir. Let's just cooperate. I thought you were calling the police.
00:07:50.480 We are calling the police. We'll meet them on site.
00:07:53.320 Okay. Yeah, all right then. You were asked nicely to leave.
00:07:55.280 So this is free speech in Canada right now. But you're not welcome to describe it.
00:07:58.860 How about my brothers in the media? Are you going to stand up for this? Or is there going to be some
00:08:03.420 solidarity? We asked him three times to leave.
00:08:05.780 He doesn't want him or not. Is this, I didn't know this was a Trudeau precedent. I thought it was a
00:08:10.440 conservative president. Okay. Is there anyone going to be in solidarity with me? Any of you?
00:08:15.840 They're going to have their own police to come in. No? Just wait for their own police to come in.
00:08:20.320 All right. The Conservative Party said David Menzies wasn't accredited? Really? David's been
00:08:27.000 an accredited journalist for 30 years. He's covered hundreds of political events from parties of
00:08:31.840 every stripe, especially the Conservatives. Why would Andrew Scheer kick out David Menzies
00:08:37.180 but welcome in the CBC, who despised the Conservatives? Is Scheer trying to suck up
00:08:43.220 the CBC because they're controlling the leaders' debates? Just recently, Andrew Scheer was asked by
00:08:48.620 a young student in Halifax if he'd let Rebel News reporters attend Conservative events. And
00:08:53.560 Scheer told that student he would. Here, see for yourself.
00:08:55.720 Would you please reconsider your approach on this topic and not ban or shun the Rebel or other
00:09:00.800 small media stations who are working to report to the Canadian people the stories none of the other
00:09:05.400 media want to cover?
00:09:09.440 Thank you very much for the question. And I certainly congratulate you on being so engaged
00:09:18.060 at 14 and having that kind of interest in not only political parties but also the dynamic
00:09:23.400 between how events are reported and how different media outlets cover things and the accountability
00:09:28.620 that goes on between media holding the government to account and also sometimes different outlets
00:09:32.940 holding each other and fact-checking different stories in a wide variety of ways. So we always
00:09:38.440 have an open policy towards the events we hold. You know, we're having this event tonight.
00:09:43.380 Anybody is free to come. There's no barrier to entry. There's no barrier to come and report
00:09:48.100 to video, to broadcast, to live stream. And that's something that we're going to continue to do.
00:09:52.980 None of this makes any sense. Anyways, David left. He left the private property. He went to stand
00:09:59.220 on the public sidewalk. He started filming a video from the public sidewalk. And then he
00:10:05.360 was swarmed by police who arrested him and handcuffed him. Why did they do that? Who ordered them to do that?
00:10:13.360 Am I under arrest, sir? Or the gentleman wanted to know? I think he said so. I don't know what
00:10:19.300 far. I was on a public sidewalk. And the bus hit me. And then these guys are. Well, I'm
00:10:25.740 just, the gentleman wanted me to answer the question. I'm just trying to answer the question. Am I
00:10:30.600 under arrest? You're the one holding me. I assume you're law enforcement. What exactly happened?
00:10:36.680 Why are you handcuffed? Well, I was, I was trying to get Andrew Scheer to answer a question, some
00:10:42.320 questions, such as, if he's elected, will he end this media bailout? Will he privatize the CBC? What
00:10:49.760 are his, you know, why, why are we not allowed into a press conference? And other members are. These
00:10:58.040 are not gotcha questions. You know, these are, I think, we're owed an answer to this, especially when
00:11:04.100 we were escorted out. And now look at this guy's, uh, handcuffed. So you were escorted out and handcuffed?
00:11:08.960 Uh, no, uh, sorry. I was originally just, uh, brought out by the Durham Regional Police and told
00:11:14.860 not to go on private property, even the parking lot, which I abided by. So I was on this side
00:11:20.740 one. Okay. Thank you. Okay. You're so concerned you got my, my wrist in a, you know, handcuffed.
00:11:38.600 You know, so you'll be safe. Okay. Listen, I know I'm not part of Jerry Diaz as a uniform union,
00:11:45.440 but it'd be nice if, uh, you gentlemen and lady would be, uh, give some, uh, solidarity.
00:11:50.300 Come on. Can I not talk to these, uh, members of the press? Do we have freedom of press here? Do we or not?
00:11:56.900 Right? Pardon me? So, this is, I don't know, I don't know why I'm being arrested. I was, yeah, thank you.
00:12:06.680 Get a picture of that, sir. My own safety, the bus is gone. I was on a public sidewalk. I was not on
00:12:12.380 private property. Things are under control. I'm, I'm in perfect control. You know, you guys,
00:12:19.640 I, well, it's a question. David had left the property. He was on the sidewalk. He's a man in
00:12:24.120 his fifties with two artificial hips. He's not a screaming Antifa thug. He's not a trespasser.
00:12:30.780 He's not violent. They handcuffed him. Why? To humiliate him? They finally took off his cuffs and he
00:12:37.220 called me. But then more police came and took his phone away. I immediately called a lawyer. Within an
00:12:42.980 hour, the police let him go without any charges. But, but the point was made, wasn't it? Don't you
00:12:49.860 dare try to ask questions of our political elites or the police will arrest you and detain you for over
00:12:56.100 an hour. Well, point not taken. I can tell you one thing. Today's outrageous treatment of David Menzies
00:13:04.080 will not stop us from doing our jobs. I'll be candid. We were more used to Justin Trudeau
00:13:11.400 banning us and Rachel Notley before she was fired by voters. It says more about them than it does about
00:13:16.900 us. It actually does say something about us. We ask questions that the political elite would rather
00:13:22.320 not be asked. Can you help us? Can you help us fight back? I think we have to fight back and we need
00:13:28.240 your help. There's three things I want to do. First, tell your local conservative candidate that
00:13:34.000 this is nuts. This is a Trudeau move, not a conservative move. Ask them if they think it's
00:13:40.720 wise to ban the only conservative-leaning video company in Canada to ban us, but then to sick the
00:13:46.600 police on us and arrest us? They literally handcuffed David Menzies. You wouldn't do that to any reporter.
00:13:53.300 Forget about a conservative reporter. This is Canada. Why are you arresting and handcuffing
00:13:58.500 any reporters? Who asked the police to do that half an hour after Menzies left?
00:14:04.440 Talk to your local conservative candidate. Second thing I want you to do.
00:14:08.920 Sign our petition to Andrew Scheer at letusreport.com. Letusreport.com. It's just what it sounds like.
00:14:16.460 Just like Andrew Scheer lets the CBC report, we'll go to a conservative event and hand him the
00:14:22.840 petition. Unless they handcuff us again. Andrew Scheer and I are old friends. Surely he'll treat us
00:14:29.620 as well as he treats Jean Gomeschi's old network, the CBC. The third thing I'd like you to do is
00:14:36.220 please help us keep on reporting. No matter who kicks us out, no matter how many lawyers we have
00:14:40.800 to hire. I just got off the phone with David and I've told him to keep asking Andrew Scheer questions.
00:14:46.680 Not gotcha questions. That's what the CBC does. But asking real questions. The kind the CBC would
00:14:53.220 never ask him questions like these. Justin Trudeau's campaign platform calls for a new
00:14:58.400 political censorship of the internet. Do you support or oppose this? That's a good question.
00:15:03.780 Hey Andrew, if elected, would you end the $600 million newspaper bailout? Good question.
00:15:09.160 Hey Andrew, if elected, would you privatize the CBC? Hey Andrew, what do you think the optimum number
00:15:13.780 of immigrants is each year for Canada? And so many more. Those aren't trick questions.
00:15:18.140 They're questions any conservative should answer, but they're questions that only Rebel News would
00:15:23.140 ask. I mean, can you really see a CBC journalist pressing Scheer about ending the media bailout?
00:15:28.860 My goal as the publisher of Rebel News is to do journalism. To tell the other side of the story.
00:15:34.200 Now most of the time, that means asking accountability questions of the liberals,
00:15:38.160 NDP, and Greens, because the mainstream media never does that. We lean conservative here at Rebel News,
00:15:45.220 and we wear our heart on our sleeves. We want Trudeau gone. I just wrote a best-selling book
00:15:51.200 called The Libranos, What the Media Won't Tell You About Justin Trudeau's Corruption.
00:15:54.600 I think it's pretty clear what I stand for and have for 30 years. But that doesn't mean we're going
00:16:00.140 to let Andrew Scheer become like Justin Trudeau. Having police arrest David Menzies and handcuff him
00:16:06.400 was a Trudeau move. Not a move any conservative should be proud of. Actually, it's worse. I've never
00:16:10.100 actually seen Trudeau have someone arrested of you. You can help us out at LetUsReport.com.
00:16:16.480 Sign our petition to Andrew Scheer to Let Us Report. Then you can click on the link on that page to see
00:16:21.980 all of our campaign plans and our campaign budget there, too. We're spending thousands of dollars
00:16:26.920 flying David and our other journalists around the country covering political events. Andrew Scheer
00:16:31.360 might think he's at war with us at The Rebel. We're actually not at war with him. We just want to be
00:16:36.900 able to do our job, which is reporting. And we will do our job, whether he likes it or not.
00:16:43.800 So go to LetUsReport.com to sign the petition to Andrew Scheer. And if you want us to keep going,
00:16:48.840 and if you want Andrew Scheer to stop acting like Justin Trudeau, you can chip in a few bucks, too.
00:16:54.320 I want David and Sheila and Kian and Jessica and the rest of our team to keep covering the news. If you do,
00:17:00.280 too, call your conservative candidates, sign our petition at LetUsReport.com, and please chip in a few
00:17:05.840 dollars to help keep us on the campaign trail. You can see our whole campaign plan, including our
00:17:10.380 signature Jumbotron truck billboards and our Libranos lawn signs. Thanks. And Andrew, give your head
00:17:18.020 a shake. You're trying to replace Trudeau, not become him. Go to LetUsReport.com.
00:17:35.840 Well, that was my call to action before David came back to the office. He came to the office,
00:17:43.580 sat down right here, and we talked for an hour, and he showed some video footage that he had taken.
00:17:49.780 All right, I want to show you the full hour. You can skip through it, but I recommend you watch it.
00:17:55.960 Here, take a look.
00:17:57.320 Hello and welcome. I'm Ezra Levant with an emergency broadcast coming to you live from
00:18:01.340 Rebel World Headquarters here in a bunker in the greater Toronto area, and joining me now
00:18:06.640 in studio is David Menzies, who has been released from police custody. David, great to see you.
00:18:12.360 Hey, great to see you, Ezra. That sounds serious, that introduction there.
00:18:15.840 Well, I was joking about the bunker, of course, but just in an office, but I was not joking
00:18:19.280 about you being in police custody. It was a shocking day for me. I can only imagine what it was like
00:18:26.280 for you. Maybe we can start by showing two sets of videos. The first, when you were responding
00:18:33.720 to an invitation that the Conservative Party published to journalists to cover an event.
00:18:38.380 Right.
00:18:39.460 Let's show that. We'll talk about that. Then let's show the police arrest of you later.
00:18:46.060 Yeah.
00:18:46.940 David, I'm 47 and a half years old, and I have never heard of a journalist
00:18:50.400 being arrested in Canada ever. Have you?
00:18:53.600 No. This is something that you think happens in Banana Republic dictatorships, when General
00:19:01.080 Micio doesn't like the tone of the questioning. The fact that it's happening in a democracy
00:19:07.660 in Canada in 2019. And remember, this is not even the Prime Minister, who I guess you could
00:19:14.480 accuse of being a censorious thug. This is Brand X. This is the new guy. This is the guy that said
00:19:19.340 he's committed to freedom of speech and freedom of expression on campus. And Ezra, the actions
00:19:25.520 would suggest otherwise.
00:19:27.120 David, I've got to tell you, I have long predicted that the rebel would be subject to this kind of
00:19:32.280 abuse. I travel to the United Kingdom, and I see how Tommy Robinson has been abused by the police
00:19:37.960 and the courts there. And I was bracing for it for four and a half years, really. I always thought
00:19:43.480 it would come at the hands of Justin Trudeau.
00:19:45.740 For it to happen at an Andrew Scheer conservative event is so surprising and disappointing to me,
00:19:53.760 I can't even, I'm still trying to fathom it. In the meantime, why don't we go straight to the
00:19:58.780 video. Justin, could you put the first video of the event? Why don't you set the table for us?
00:20:03.680 Sure.
00:20:03.940 This was just a run-of-the-mill Andrew Scheer campaign event. He emailed the whole press
00:20:07.780 gallery, including us, inviting journalists. It's a press event. This wasn't like some private
00:20:12.120 function at someone's house. This was an announcement. You've covered a hundred of
00:20:16.680 these, a thousand of these. Yeah. In your 30-year, I mean, you've been a journalist longer than me.
00:20:22.180 You're older than me. You've been a reporter for many papers. You've been at this business 30 years.
00:20:25.980 Since 1985.
00:20:27.120 1985. So 34 years for you being a journalist. You actually have a journalism degree, don't you?
00:20:31.560 I do indeed, from writer's degree.
00:20:32.640 Not that I put too much stock in it, but if you want to check boxes, I think you're probably the
00:20:36.960 only one here in our company that does. You've worked for Sun News Network. You've worked for
00:20:41.020 various post-media newspapers, magazines. Absolutely.
00:20:43.700 I think you probably, frankly, have written for more mainstream publications than anyone else at
00:20:48.940 our company. It could be, yeah. I think so. Not just political stuff. You do cars. You did
00:20:53.360 human interest stories. Correct. Yep.
00:20:57.080 So there was nothing out of the ordinary about you attending this event at all.
00:21:01.740 No. No. And indeed, I don't even, still right now, with all the stuff that's happened,
00:21:08.500 I don't even know what was announced. And I think that, to me, is the shocking thing,
00:21:15.320 is that, you know, let's put it this way, Ezra. If the sheer conservatives, and by the way,
00:21:21.880 I was invited in. There was somebody with the party that brought me right up to the media room.
00:21:25.360 Really?
00:21:26.120 Absolutely.
00:21:26.860 Well, isn't that interesting?
00:21:27.760 Because there's some liars online saying, oh, you weren't invited. You tried to barge your way
00:21:32.600 in. Not only were you invited, you said you were escorted.
00:21:35.400 Absolutely. It was a very nice gentleman. He brought me right up because I didn't know where
00:21:38.700 to go. We talked. And the fact that this was, and I mean, look who we are. We're Rebel Media. We
00:21:47.080 have almost 1.3 million YouTube subscribers. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume most of those
00:21:53.000 are red meat conservatives. This is the audience that Andrew Scheer ostensibly wants to address.
00:21:59.120 I mean, why give a press conference anyways, other than to convey this latest plank in the party
00:22:06.780 platform? But I think, you know, for his own selfish self-interest, Ezra, what he should have done
00:22:12.840 is, oh, okay, somebody from the Rebels there. I don't like the Rebel for whatever reason, but
00:22:16.440 who cares? He's one of, you know, a dozen journalists here. I won't even bother answering
00:22:21.080 his questions. But no, it was leave or we're going to call the police. And I got roughed up in,
00:22:27.360 you know, the hallway by an RCMP officer. He threw me into a wall. Later on, you know,
00:22:31.760 I get hit by a bus and I get handcuffed. And, you know, I have the RCMP calling the Durham
00:22:39.340 Regional Police. And they held the hammer whether they were going to charge me. But they heard
00:22:42.840 both sides of the story and they let me go. And I want to thank the Durham Region cops for doing
00:22:47.900 that. I was mortified that, you know, that five cruisers are just…
00:22:52.140 Five cruisers?
00:22:52.740 Yeah.
00:22:52.940 Come on. There were five police?
00:22:54.960 Four or five, at least.
00:22:56.020 And there were RCMP and Durham police?
00:22:57.920 No, those were just the Durham police.
00:22:59.620 Really? And the RCMP had their black SUVs?
00:23:01.720 Their big black Suburbans. And, you know, it was… I'm mortified because the cops should
00:23:09.260 be rounding up criminals, not people practicing journalism.
00:23:12.980 Or maybe show some courage and talk to Justin Trudeau about his corruption scandal.
00:23:17.120 How about that?
00:23:17.620 We got more cops on your case. You know, I talked to you on the phone and then you said,
00:23:22.660 I got to go. There's more police. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. And I thought,
00:23:25.300 oh my God. And I didn't know a lot about things. I got on the phone to a law firm and we didn't.
00:23:30.300 And I said, well, just start calling around. I said, I don't know where he is. What's up?
00:23:33.900 Well, by the time I reconnected with you, the Durham police did the obvious thing. I mean,
00:23:39.560 you were not on private property.
00:23:41.680 You were not, obviously, violent or threatening violence.
00:23:46.180 Absolutely not.
00:23:47.220 It was so absurd. You were on a public pedestrian sidewalk.
00:23:51.260 Yes.
00:23:52.840 I mean, I don't practice law. I haven't practiced law in almost 20 years. But no cop,
00:23:58.740 no cop would lay charges on that because even if they were really mad at you,
00:24:03.220 the prosecutor would throw this out and say, what are you doing? There's no chance of
00:24:06.240 conviction. There's no public interest here. What are you doing? We're in Canada. We don't
00:24:09.180 arrest journalists. Anyhow, I'm so mad. But the fact that you were personally escorted in
00:24:14.120 by the Conservative Party, first of all, put the lie to some of the BS I see on social media that you
00:24:20.400 somehow barged in. And second of all, that shows what a normal human being does. Oh, reporter,
00:24:24.480 come on in. Anyhow, enough talk between you and me. Let's show the clip. Justin, play the first clip.
00:24:28.540 This is inside the event. This is after David was personally escorted in by a Conservative Party
00:24:34.740 media staffer doing what a normal Conservative Party media staffer would do. And then you said
00:24:40.680 he got chucked against the wall. Let's take a look at this.
00:24:42.680 So this is free speech in Canada right now. I'm all my brothers in the media. Are you going to stand up for this?
00:25:01.020 Are you going to stand up for this? Are you going to stand up for this? Are you going to stand up for this?
00:25:07.220 I didn't know this was a Trudeau precedent. I thought it was a conservative precedent.
00:25:11.220 Is there anyone going to be in solidarity with me? Any of you?
00:25:15.220 We don't have their own police to come in. Just wait for their own police to come in.
00:25:21.220 Now, I had some trouble hearing what the bald guy said. He looked like a cop to me.
00:25:24.920 He was. Looked like he had a bulletproof vest under that shirt. What was he saying to you? Do you recall?
00:25:29.420 It must have been a blur. So if you don't remember, that's okay.
00:25:32.420 I don't. It was probably get out of here because I don't know. I've already left where the press conference is.
00:25:39.420 Now I'm in the hallway of, I would assume, is a taxpayer-funded community center in Whitby.
00:25:45.620 And I was saying, I'm going to be here because when Mr. Shearer comes into the room, I have but one question to ask, which is, why aren't we here?
00:25:55.220 Now, this baloney, Ezra, that they say.
00:25:57.620 And what was the lady? Was she a cop, too?
00:25:58.920 She was a cop, yeah.
00:25:59.620 Yeah, so those were three cops.
00:26:00.420 Yeah, Curly, Larry, and Maureen.
00:26:02.120 Now, this baloney about, oh, well, you're not an accredited journalist. I mean, give me a break.
00:26:08.920 You know what accredited means? It just means signing a piece of paper.
00:26:11.920 Yeah, we don't believe in journalists' licenses in Canada.
00:26:14.420 By the way, I see a super chat. Now, David, you know what I'm talking about.
00:26:16.920 A super chat is when folks chip in $5, $10, whatever, and their comment is put in a highlighted color.
00:26:23.920 So, Justin, I see just the one from Proud Boys Calgary. Is there other?
00:26:26.920 So this says, met Medenzoid on Saturday.
00:26:29.920 Nicest guy ever. Shame on the morons who ejected him.
00:26:32.920 And even greater shame on the journalists who raised zero objections.
00:26:36.920 Pardon my cough. I'm sorry, David.
00:26:39.920 No worries.
00:26:40.920 That's a very good point there, is it's one thing for the cops to do that.
00:26:47.920 Yeah.
00:26:48.920 Shame on them.
00:26:49.920 It's another thing for the conservatives to order the cops to do that.
00:26:52.920 Shame on them.
00:26:53.920 Shame on them.
00:26:54.920 But where the hell are the journalists in the first time?
00:26:58.920 Like I say, I'm racking my brains.
00:27:00.920 I can't think of a journalist left-wing or right-wing, radical or mainstream, dissidents, citizens.
00:27:09.920 I can't think of a single journalist who's been arrested and handcuffed by police.
00:27:15.920 I can't think of it.
00:27:17.920 I mean, maybe it happened in the Second World War if someone broke an Official Secrets Act.
00:27:22.920 I cannot think of a single case in Canada.
00:27:25.920 And if there's a case, let me know.
00:27:28.920 And did a single journalist object on your behalf?
00:27:33.920 No, sir.
00:27:34.920 Did they see it?
00:27:35.920 I mean, we were playing clips there that Glenn McGregor posted to Twitter.
00:27:38.920 Yes.
00:27:39.920 So at least, at least, Glenn McGregor filmed it.
00:27:43.920 Yes.
00:27:44.920 I guess give the guy points for that, although newsworthy is newsworthy.
00:27:49.920 His tweets were rather tepid.
00:27:51.920 I saw a tweet from the Globe and Mail just saying, this happened.
00:27:55.920 David Akin, some rebel reporter.
00:27:57.920 You and I used to work.
00:27:58.920 Holy cow, David said that?
00:27:59.920 Oh, yes.
00:28:00.920 Let me call that.
00:28:01.920 Can you call up David Akin's tweet, Justin?
00:28:02.920 David Akin worked with you and me at the Sun News Network.
00:28:04.920 He works with you a hundred times.
00:28:05.920 He forgot me.
00:28:06.920 And he calls you a some guy from Rebel Media.
00:28:09.920 Oh, no.
00:28:10.920 I guess that's what happens when you're on the payroll of Unifor because Glenn McGregor,
00:28:16.920 Unifor journalist at CTV.
00:28:18.920 Yeah.
00:28:19.920 David Akin, Unifor journalist at Global.
00:28:22.920 I forget the name of the lady from the Globe and Mail, Unifor journalist.
00:28:26.920 Yeah.
00:28:27.920 So three Unifor journalists, each of whom is personally contributing from their own pocket
00:28:32.920 to an anti-Trudeau, sorry, pro-Trudeau, anti-Sheer campaign, not one of them said a word about
00:28:40.920 your arrest.
00:28:41.920 Yeah, and I did ask them that.
00:28:42.920 I said, what about, you know, some solidarity here, brothers and sisters?
00:28:46.920 And what was very frustrating, the most frustrating thing of all, was that they wouldn't even give
00:28:50.920 me an answer.
00:28:51.920 Now, after I got kicked to the sidewalk before the arrest happened, Ezra, Mitch Potter from
00:28:56.920 the Toronto Star approached me.
00:28:58.920 First time I've ever met him.
00:29:00.920 I know the byline.
00:29:01.920 Very friendly guy.
00:29:02.920 And I recorded the interaction.
00:29:05.920 And I said, you know, Mitch, you know what gets me is that if this was happening to you,
00:29:09.920 I would have gone to bat for you.
00:29:10.920 I believe that, by the way.
00:29:11.920 Yeah.
00:29:12.920 That's what we do.
00:29:13.920 We're a free speech group here.
00:29:14.920 Exactly.
00:29:15.920 But none of you came to my defense.
00:29:16.920 And his rebuttal was, well, you know, Dave, you have to understand, and I'm paraphrasing
00:29:19.920 now, but it's on the tape, that, you know, any like crank could come into a press conference
00:29:24.920 and we don't know who we're going to bat for.
00:29:26.920 And I said, Mitch, our Rebel News is four years old.
00:29:30.920 You know what the Rebel is.
00:29:31.920 You know who I am.
00:29:33.920 Before Rebel News, we're castaways from Sun News Network, right?
00:29:37.920 We were part of the mainstream.
00:29:38.920 I'm not some crank off the street.
00:29:41.920 We've got here, let me show you David Akin's tweet.
00:29:44.920 The CPC, Conservative Leaders Tour, just removed an individual from the room where Andrew Scheer,
00:29:51.920 because that individual was non-accredited media.
00:29:53.920 That individual was David Menzies of Reverend Menzies.
00:29:55.920 Okay, so he did name you.
00:29:57.920 I thought I was looking at another tweet, so he did name you there.
00:30:01.920 So again, Unifor journalist, taking his own union dues to pay for a pro-Trudeau campaign.
00:30:08.920 A bailout journalist, as the Unifor journalists are.
00:30:11.920 Yes.
00:30:12.920 I guess he did use your name.
00:30:16.920 Wow, thank you, David.
00:30:18.920 What's with the individual part?
00:30:20.920 Is he worried about misgendering you?
00:30:22.920 Yeah.
00:30:23.920 But the weird thing is, why would he not say one word about free speech?
00:30:28.920 There's another super chat here.
00:30:29.920 Yeah.
00:30:30.920 Observer Dude, five pounds.
00:30:31.920 David, I'm a big fan of you.
00:30:32.920 Oh, thank you.
00:30:33.920 You're a great and funny reporter.
00:30:34.920 You steal the show, keep up the good work.
00:30:35.920 Oh, wonderful.
00:30:36.920 Yeah, I mean, it's true.
00:30:37.920 I think you are, in some ways, the nicest reporter here at The Rebel.
00:30:42.920 And what I mean by that is, I get mad.
00:30:47.920 Kian gets scrappy.
00:30:49.920 Yeah.
00:30:50.920 Sheila will bust your balls.
00:30:51.920 Yeah, that's true.
00:30:52.920 Jessica is sweet.
00:30:54.920 Yes.
00:30:55.920 But you, I mean, I remember when you were being hit with a pink cane by Jonathan Yaniv out there in Vancouver.
00:31:01.920 You were being hit by the, and even then, you didn't swear.
00:31:04.920 No.
00:31:05.920 You didn't swear.
00:31:06.920 No.
00:31:07.920 Here's a guy being hit with a cane, you won't even swear.
00:31:09.920 Friend to all, when you're interviewing people who are antagonistic to you, you even say,
00:31:14.920 Mr. or Sir.
00:31:15.920 Like, I think you are the most polite person at The Rebel.
00:31:18.920 I don't even think I've heard you swear, David.
00:31:21.920 No, I don't.
00:31:22.920 I mean, I use one or two, swear.
00:31:25.920 So, anyone who's saying, oh, David was making a fuss, that's just a lie.
00:31:29.920 They're lying.
00:31:31.920 And Ezra, if I can interject, you know, I don't know what is the unspoken motivation of Andrew Scheer's camp driving this.
00:31:40.920 And I say this because about two weeks ago, we, I, representing The Rebel, we were the only media, the only media at the Toronto Old City Courthouse covering that woman who did, remember, that fraud?
00:31:57.920 Yeah, that fake vote for Scheer and then spitting on a minority.
00:32:00.920 That's right.
00:32:01.920 You're the only person who debunked that and showed who the hoaxer were.
00:32:04.920 Right.
00:32:05.920 But when the hoax occurred, did you see the coverage you got?
00:32:07.920 Oh, yeah.
00:32:08.920 Oh, look at this Andrew Scheer conservative deplorable.
00:32:11.920 You're making the case for why they should be friendly to you.
00:32:13.920 But they should be friendly to you even if you're hostile to them, even if you're rude.
00:32:17.920 Yes.
00:32:18.920 Because we have freedom of speech in this country, freedom of press section to be the Charter of Rights.
00:32:22.920 I want to show a clip.
00:32:26.920 You can find it on our Twitter page, Justin.
00:32:29.920 It's from a few months ago.
00:32:31.920 Andrew Scheer was asked by a young woman in Halifax.
00:32:35.920 Yes.
00:32:36.920 If he would, sorry, I'm coughing.
00:32:39.920 If he would allow rebel news reporters into conservative campaign events.
00:32:45.920 Yep.
00:32:46.920 And she was a young girl, just asked the question, and he said absolutely.
00:32:53.920 And, Justin, go ahead and let me know.
00:32:55.920 Oh, we got that clip?
00:32:56.920 Here, take a look at this clip.
00:32:57.920 Her question was very long.
00:32:59.920 We just truncated down to the very end.
00:33:01.920 Take a listen to her question and listen to the answer.
00:33:04.920 This was just a few months ago.
00:33:06.920 Would you please reconsider your approach on this topic and not ban or shun the rebel or other small media stations
00:33:12.920 who are working to report to the Canadian people the stories none of the other media want to cover?
00:33:19.920 Thank you very much for the question.
00:33:25.920 And I certainly congratulate you on being so engaged at 14 and having that kind of interest in not only political parties,
00:33:32.920 but also the dynamic between how events are reported and how different media outlets cover things
00:33:37.920 and the accountability that goes on between media holding the government to account
00:33:41.920 and also sometimes different outlets holding each other and fact-checking different stories in a wide variety of ways.
00:33:47.920 So we always have an open policy towards the events we hold.
00:33:51.920 You know, we're having this event tonight.
00:33:53.920 Anybody is free to come.
00:33:54.920 There's no barrier to entry.
00:33:55.920 There's no barrier to come and report to video, to broadcast, to live stream.
00:34:00.920 And that's something that we're going to continue to do.
00:34:03.920 So I don't think you have an earpiece in.
00:34:07.920 Let me just.
00:34:08.920 So the first thing is she said, please reconsider your ban of the rebel and other small media.
00:34:12.920 The first thing is there was applause there.
00:34:14.920 Yes.
00:34:15.920 Because who would be against that?
00:34:17.920 Yes.
00:34:18.920 They were in Allegiant, so it's a good conservative place.
00:34:20.920 She's a 14-year-old girl, and he's a little bit paternalistic and patronizing.
00:34:26.920 He says, oh, good girl, you're so interested in things.
00:34:29.920 But then he says, we always have an open policy, no barrier, everyone's free to video and live stream.
00:34:39.920 He just said that to that girl, and not just to the girl, but to that room that obviously was a free speech room.
00:34:44.920 That was this year.
00:34:45.920 That wasn't two, three, four, five years ago.
00:34:48.920 He said that because he didn't want to lose the room.
00:34:53.920 What's changed since a few months ago?
00:34:57.920 That was my question, Ezra.
00:34:59.920 It was six months ago that he made that statement.
00:35:02.920 Did we do or say or state something in the last six months that we're deserving to be media non-granted of the Conservative Party?
00:35:10.920 Absolutely not.
00:35:11.920 I would suggest the precise opposite is true.
00:35:13.920 Or I'm just thinking how the Andrew Scheer war room can spin this.
00:35:18.920 Oh, rebel?
00:35:19.920 Oh, we thought you meant rabble.
00:35:21.920 Well, the irony is they would let rabble in.
00:35:24.920 Now, David, I see some more Super Chats coming in, and I want to respect those Super Chatters.
00:35:28.920 Absolutely.
00:35:29.920 You know what Super Chats are, right?
00:35:30.920 Yes.
00:35:31.920 You see these colorful things here.
00:35:32.920 So, Wiley saw chips in, I think that's two Swedish Franks, much love for the manzoid menzies.
00:35:40.920 Oh, I love that.
00:35:41.920 I need that today, my friend.
00:35:42.920 And here's one.
00:35:43.920 I am played.
00:35:44.920 20 bucks.
00:35:45.920 Thanks for all your work, Rebel News.
00:35:46.920 That's pretty friendly.
00:35:47.920 And here's someone else.
00:35:48.920 CCN Media.
00:35:49.920 On a side note, is this butts dinner with Raj?
00:35:52.920 As big as it seems, this reminds me of Brazil.
00:35:54.920 No MSM outlet has reported on it.
00:35:56.920 Can you grab that photo?
00:35:57.920 You know what I'm talking about, Justin?
00:35:58.920 So, I saw this photo on the internet today.
00:36:01.920 Yeah.
00:36:02.920 It's taken in a bar.
00:36:03.920 Althea Raj, she's with the Huffington Post.
00:36:05.920 That's a U.S. gossip website.
00:36:10.920 But she also works for the CBC.
00:36:12.920 And Gerald Butts, Justin Trudeau's sort of Rasputin figure.
00:36:16.920 And they're having a drink in a bar.
00:36:19.920 Now, I don't know for 100% sure when that photo was taken.
00:36:23.920 It was tweeted by Nick Kuvalis.
00:36:25.920 Here's the photo here.
00:36:26.920 So, you see Althea Raj on the left and Gerald Butts on the right.
00:36:30.920 And I presume that Nick is accurate when he says this was taken just in the last day.
00:36:35.920 She's a debate moderator.
00:36:38.920 Exactly.
00:36:39.920 And he is terrified, probably, that she's going to ask about blackface or groping.
00:36:47.920 Whatever it is, they're having a little secret confab.
00:36:51.920 And that's how journalists on the government payroll are treated.
00:36:56.920 You're not on the government payroll, so you get arrested.
00:36:58.920 Yeah.
00:36:59.920 I think that was very important that you added in that she's going to be a moderator in an upcoming debate.
00:37:03.920 Because, in fairness, I can see journalists going to a restaurant, a cafe, talking with politicians, policymakers.
00:37:09.920 Yes, an interview, getting sources, whatever.
00:37:11.920 Exactly.
00:37:12.920 And nothing beats being there live in person as opposed to being over the phone or a computer or what have you, Ezra.
00:37:19.920 She should recuse herself if she's going to be in the role of moderator for this upcoming debate.
00:37:24.920 This is a little too, you know, comfortable for me.
00:37:27.920 Well, it's like judges.
00:37:28.920 I mean, once a trial is on, if you're a lawyer and want to talk to the judge, the other lawyer gets to be there.
00:37:35.920 Right.
00:37:36.920 So there's no secrets from the other lawyers.
00:37:38.920 Exactly.
00:37:39.920 And what was said in that conversation is secret from the other candidates.
00:37:42.920 Okay, there's a lot of super chats, so let me catch up.
00:37:44.920 Excellent.
00:37:45.920 Free speech streams.
00:37:46.920 Menzies is one of the only Canadian journalists with the interests of Canadians.
00:37:49.920 First, shameful and frustrating to see our country treat them this way.
00:37:52.920 Observer dude, 10 pounds.
00:37:54.920 Has David considered coming over to Britain next month to cover the no-deal Brexit that is supposed to happen on the 31st of October?
00:37:59.920 Well, that's an interesting question because our election will be done by then.
00:38:02.920 Have I caught up on the super chats?
00:38:05.920 Yeah, okay.
00:38:06.920 Now, David, what I showed you, or sorry, what we showed our audience is how you were treated when you were invited by email, met, greeted by a Conservative Party media staffer, brought to the room in a public facility.
00:38:26.920 They had rented a room.
00:38:27.920 Yes.
00:38:28.920 And you were brought there.
00:38:29.920 And this severely normal press attache had no idea there was some weirdness going on.
00:38:35.920 And then it looked like the cop pushed you against the wall there.
00:38:39.920 He did.
00:38:40.920 But why the hell did he do that?
00:38:41.920 It's like he's a bouncer at a nightclub who's got too many roids or something.
00:38:44.920 I'm pro-cop.
00:38:45.920 Yeah.
00:38:46.920 But there's no bloody reason for him to do that.
00:38:48.920 So, yeah, look at that.
00:38:50.920 Pushing you.
00:38:51.920 Pushing.
00:38:52.920 What the hell was that?
00:38:53.920 Yeah, I know.
00:38:54.920 Is he trying to get you to, I think maybe he's trying to get you to drop your phone.
00:38:59.920 Anyway, so you left because we've got a rule around here.
00:39:02.920 Yeah.
00:39:03.920 If you're on private property and you're told to leave, leave.
00:39:07.920 Maybe don't run out, but leave.
00:39:10.920 You know, maybe stick around an extra five seconds, but leave.
00:39:13.920 It's a good rule of thumb.
00:39:14.920 And I don't even know if that public community center would count as private property if you're
00:39:19.920 no longer in the room rental, but I think he did the right thing.
00:39:22.920 Okay.
00:39:23.920 So, and then that's when we talked on the phone the first time.
00:39:26.920 And I said, stay on the sidewalk.
00:39:29.920 Yes.
00:39:30.920 Film, hold your selfie stick out so we can film what's behind you.
00:39:35.920 Yes.
00:39:36.920 But be on the sidewalk, not even on the parking lot.
00:39:39.920 And you did that, right?
00:39:41.920 Yeah.
00:39:42.920 And it lasted all of eight seconds.
00:39:45.920 Eight seconds?
00:39:46.920 Well, because the camera was grabbed and...
00:39:48.920 Who grabbed the camera?
00:39:49.920 I think it was one of the RCMP guys because I saw it thrown on top of the hood of the Suburban.
00:39:53.920 My microphone was grabbed.
00:39:54.920 It was a moot point anyways, Ezra, because they were putting me in handcuffs.
00:39:57.920 There's no way to hold the devices.
00:39:58.920 Oh, I'm not blaming you.
00:39:59.920 I'm just curious.
00:40:00.920 Eight seconds.
00:40:01.920 Now, I just heard in my ear that Justin has that clip from your phone.
00:40:04.920 Have you even seen it yet?
00:40:05.920 I did, yes.
00:40:06.920 Okay.
00:40:07.920 I haven't seen it yet.
00:40:08.920 So this is...
00:40:10.920 Eight seconds, you say?
00:40:11.920 This is just as I'm going to approach the bus.
00:40:13.920 So you're...
00:40:14.920 Okay, let's take a look.
00:40:16.920 I'm just...
00:40:18.920 I'm just trying to get an answer.
00:40:21.920 Excuse me.
00:40:22.920 Excuse me.
00:40:23.920 That's it.
00:40:24.920 That's it.
00:40:25.920 So that was the bus.
00:40:26.920 Then you were on the sidewalk?
00:40:27.920 That's right, yes.
00:40:28.920 So you were standing on the public pedestrian sidewalk.
00:40:30.920 I want to confirm that because I think that's an important point.
00:40:32.920 Right.
00:40:33.920 So the sidewalk ends for the driveway of the community center and there is...
00:40:36.920 I'm not in a live lane of traffic, Ezra.
00:40:38.920 Right.
00:40:39.920 There is a stop sign.
00:40:40.920 There is a stop sign.
00:40:41.920 The bus has to stop whether there's a person there or not.
00:40:43.920 There's a stop sign even though it's in a private parking lot.
00:40:46.920 And that was going to be the backdrop and that was eight seconds long.
00:40:49.920 Is that right?
00:40:50.920 Eight seconds?
00:40:51.920 Yeah.
00:40:52.920 Eight seconds.
00:40:53.920 And what did they say to you when they grabbed that from you?
00:40:55.920 I didn't quite hear it.
00:40:56.920 Play it again, Justin.
00:40:57.920 Move.
00:40:58.920 Move.
00:40:59.920 Move.
00:41:00.920 Move.
00:41:01.920 Move.
00:41:02.920 Move, sir.
00:41:03.920 Move, sir.
00:41:04.920 Move, sir.
00:41:05.920 Move, sir.
00:41:06.920 Move, sir.
00:41:07.920 Move, sir.
00:41:08.920 Excuse me.
00:41:09.920 Move, sir.
00:41:10.920 I think I just heard them say move.
00:41:11.920 Well, I know at one point the female RCMP officer said, I'm trying to prevent you from
00:41:17.920 getting hit by the bus and the very next second you hear, I'm getting hit by the bus.
00:41:22.920 You got hit by the bus?
00:41:23.920 For whatever reason, if I'm the bus driver, Ezra, you know, even if I'm, you know, being
00:41:28.920 somewhat obnoxious by delaying them a few seconds, if there's anybody in front of my
00:41:32.920 bus, I'm dropping anchor.
00:41:33.920 Yeah.
00:41:34.920 I'll let the police, yeah.
00:41:35.920 I mean, first of all, you know, eight seconds isn't going to kill you.
00:41:38.920 Yeah.
00:41:39.920 It's a stop light.
00:41:40.920 You're a pedestrian.
00:41:41.920 Pedestrians have the right of way on a sidewalk.
00:41:43.920 Correct.
00:41:44.920 Sorry, I said stop light.
00:41:45.920 I mean stop sign.
00:41:46.920 Stop sign, yeah.
00:41:47.920 Are you saying he bumped you?
00:41:48.920 Well, not intentionally.
00:41:49.920 He was trying to, you know, veer around the commotion.
00:41:52.920 You don't, neither of us know his intentions.
00:41:54.920 What do you say, not intentionally?
00:41:55.920 That's true.
00:41:56.920 I would give the bus driver the ban for the doubt.
00:41:57.920 All right.
00:41:58.920 Well, you're nicer than he was.
00:41:59.920 Okay.
00:42:00.920 So you're saying he bumped you?
00:42:01.920 Yeah.
00:42:02.920 He bumped you?
00:42:03.920 A hundred percent.
00:42:04.920 So I just want, I'm going to ask you a fourth time.
00:42:05.920 Okay.
00:42:06.920 He bumped you?
00:42:07.920 Yes.
00:42:08.920 The bus driver bumped you?
00:42:09.920 Yes.
00:42:10.920 Was the bus stopped?
00:42:11.920 At that point, that's a good question.
00:42:13.920 So how did it bump you if it was stopped?
00:42:15.920 It's a good question, Ezra, because my back was to the bus.
00:42:17.920 So he, like, turned the wheel and bumped you?
00:42:19.920 That's what I think was happening.
00:42:20.920 What part of you was bumped?
00:42:21.920 My back.
00:42:22.920 Did it hurt?
00:42:24.920 Not really.
00:42:25.920 He wasn't going that fast.
00:42:26.920 So he was moving, though?
00:42:27.920 He was trying to get around the commotion and get on the road.
00:42:30.920 Yeah.
00:42:31.920 And I don't think that was a prudent idea because, you know…
00:42:34.920 God forbid he has to wait five seconds on the pedestrian stop sign.
00:42:38.920 Exactly.
00:42:39.920 And maybe he's being egged on in the bus, like, come on, move it, get out of here.
00:42:43.920 Let's go.
00:42:44.920 Yeah.
00:42:45.920 I don't know.
00:42:46.920 Eight seconds.
00:42:47.920 God forbid.
00:42:48.920 God forbid.
00:42:49.920 But you know, Ezra, like, what I'm trying to get in my mind, I'm trying to understand
00:42:51.920 this.
00:42:52.920 Andrew Scheer shutting us down, especially with the demographics of our viewership.
00:42:57.920 I'm going to bet there's going to be a whole lot of our audience really pissed off
00:43:01.920 that this happened.
00:43:02.920 Well, you know, half our audience is Andrew Scheer people, half our audience is Maxime Bernier
00:43:06.920 people, and I see both sides of the story.
00:43:09.920 I like Maxime Bernier's style, his panache.
00:43:11.920 I like how tough he is on the issues.
00:43:13.920 I like the fact that he calls out the BS in the media party, and the fact that he talks
00:43:17.920 about real issues like open borders, immigration, political correctness, and global warming.
00:43:22.920 Correct.
00:43:23.920 I like Andrew Scheer for one reason.
00:43:25.920 He's the only person who can beat Justin Trudeau, if anyone can.
00:43:29.920 Yeah.
00:43:30.920 So that's why I like the two candidates, and our audience is down the middle.
00:43:32.920 But I think our audience will be appalled by this.
00:43:35.920 And as you said earlier, there's absolutely no reason for this.
00:43:39.920 If he was smart, and I'm starting to doubt that he is, he would have let you in, and what
00:43:44.920 would you have?
00:43:45.920 You'd have a selfie stick, and maybe you'd blurt out a question, but he could do what
00:43:49.920 all the politicians do, just take the questions he wants.
00:43:51.920 And you know what?
00:43:52.920 Maybe he'd even answer your question, if it was a good question, if he had a good answer
00:43:56.920 to it.
00:43:57.920 But instead, he has the RCMP come at you once.
00:44:02.920 Yeah.
00:44:03.920 Sounds like you were bumped gently by a bus, but there's no difference between either you're
00:44:09.920 bumped or you're not.
00:44:10.920 Yeah.
00:44:11.920 Gentleness doesn't matter.
00:44:12.920 And then they grab you in your phone, and they arrested you.
00:44:14.920 Correct.
00:44:15.920 Did they use that word?
00:44:16.920 Well, I don't know what you call it when you put somebody's hands behind their back,
00:44:21.920 throw handcuffs on them, and say the Durham Regional Police are coming.
00:44:25.920 That's the rest.
00:44:26.920 That's what I think.
00:44:28.920 But the point I was leading up to is, so you inalienate your fan base.
00:44:33.920 The whole idea is to get elected, so does the Andrew Scheer War Room think that, hey,
00:44:38.920 if we do this, that'll get Liberal supporters to vote Conservative?
00:44:42.920 I mean, I know it sounds outrageous, but what is their thought process in doing this?
00:44:48.920 Yeah, you're assuming there is a thought process.
00:44:50.920 Now, let me read it.
00:44:51.920 I've got to catch up.
00:44:52.920 Justin, can you send me all the Super Chats in an email?
00:44:54.920 Well, here's one from Craig McDonald.
00:44:56.920 I tell every canvasser from the Conservative Party that calls, usually two times a week,
00:45:01.920 that until the Scheer or his MPs speak with a rebel, any donation I might have made to
00:45:05.920 the CPC will go to the rebel.
00:45:07.920 The CPC has now lost my vote.
00:45:08.920 Thank you, Craig.
00:45:10.920 Adam Bolin chips in 100 Swedish kroner.
00:45:13.920 Thank you very much.
00:45:15.920 I'm just going to see if I missed some.
00:45:17.920 I'm sorry, Justin, send me an email if I have.
00:45:20.920 Well, Calgary Menzoid deserves another bonus for risk in the workplace.
00:45:23.920 First you need, now that craziness.
00:45:26.920 Have a beer on me, buddy.
00:45:27.920 Seven bucks.
00:45:28.920 All right.
00:45:29.920 We'll give him, we'll give him, we'll buy him a beer and we'll give him all the snacks
00:45:35.920 from our kitchen he can eat.
00:45:37.920 Keith McIntyre's 200 Mexican pesos.
00:45:40.920 I contacted my CPC writing office a while back and advised, no access to rebel, no support
00:45:46.920 from me.
00:45:47.920 Long conversation, but boiled down to if CPC cooperates with rebel anyway, MSM will make
00:45:51.920 a story of it.
00:45:52.920 Cowards.
00:45:53.920 That's exactly what Hamish himself told me.
00:45:55.920 I mean, Hamish Marshall helped found the rebel.
00:45:57.920 Correct.
00:45:58.920 And he and other staffers in Scheer's office, there's a very cowardly explanation.
00:46:03.920 It's, if we have anything to do with you, the mean girls will be mean to us.
00:46:09.920 So we can't, you know, we can be your girlfriend in private, but when the other kids are there,
00:46:14.920 I don't want to hold your hands.
00:46:15.920 Like, it's so childish.
00:46:16.920 Like, look, either be your own man or just, I mean, like, if you are going to let snippy
00:46:25.920 comments from, first of all, our competitors, and second of all, left-wing agenda journalists
00:46:31.920 to shape what you do and say now, that is not only wrong politically, but it's, you're
00:46:38.920 not even a conservative anymore.
00:46:40.920 I just found that extremely depressing.
00:46:42.920 I understand the logic of it, but I absolutely disagree with it.
00:46:45.920 And I think it's pitiful.
00:46:46.920 No, and it's not working.
00:46:47.920 It's not working.
00:46:48.920 That's the main point.
00:46:49.920 I mean, today, Robert Fyfe's latest piece is about Andrew Scheer falsifying his credentials
00:46:54.920 as an insurance broker.
00:46:57.920 The last couple of days, we've seen from both the Globe and the CBC about the blackface
00:47:02.920 scandal not holding Justin Trudeau to account, but what was the agenda, the secret agenda of
00:47:08.920 the whistleblower that he released that yearbook photo?
00:47:10.920 Can you believe this?
00:47:11.920 Yeah.
00:47:12.920 All this sucking up and shunning us, they're still going after him, Hammer and Tom.
00:47:16.920 Yeah.
00:47:17.920 And I bet there's more to come in the next three weeks.
00:47:18.920 Yeah.
00:47:19.920 You can't turn your enemies into friends.
00:47:21.920 Yeah.
00:47:22.920 By treating your friends like enemies.
00:47:24.920 Another super chap, Observer Dude, five pounds, was that pervert with the cane ever arrested
00:47:28.920 for assaulting him?
00:47:29.920 Now, I mean, I'll speak to that, which is that we've had discussions with the police there.
00:47:34.920 Yeah.
00:47:35.920 But I have not seen an arrest yet, and I don't want to give away any behind-the-scenes communications,
00:47:40.920 but it is an outrage that he has not yet been charged with assault.
00:47:43.920 I have never in my life seen a more clearly documented case of assault and battery as that.
00:47:49.920 Yeah.
00:47:50.920 And I think the RCMP are increasingly politicized, and they're very scared of the trans issue.
00:47:56.920 I think you're right.
00:47:57.920 Right.
00:47:58.920 The only thing they're more scared of than Justin Trudeau and SNC-Lavalin is trans extremists
00:48:04.920 like Jonathan Yaniv.
00:48:05.920 All right.
00:48:06.920 Folks, just a reminder of what we're talking about here today.
00:48:10.920 David Menzies, the Menzoid, as he's been known for 30 years, 34 years of journalism,
00:48:15.920 journalism grad, covered hundreds of events in his career.
00:48:18.920 I don't want to say thousands, but over 34 years, could be thousands.
00:48:25.920 Not just slammed against the wall by RCMP, driven out of a public building, and then
00:48:31.920 arrested and handcuffed.
00:48:34.920 And then when they came to take away your phone, I thought, well, what do I do?
00:48:37.920 And you know what I thought?
00:48:38.920 I thought, well, what did I do when Tommy Robinson was arrested?
00:48:41.920 I called a lawyer immediately.
00:48:43.920 Yeah.
00:48:44.920 Great lawyer.
00:48:45.920 And he said, all right, so we've got to try and find him.
00:48:49.920 I said, well, as far as I know, he's still there, because I saw a tweet about you.
00:48:54.920 And I just said, look, just start making phone calls.
00:48:56.920 Yeah.
00:48:57.920 Just start making phone calls.
00:48:58.920 Try to get through.
00:48:59.920 Let the cops know that we're watching.
00:49:01.920 Let the cops know that, you know, the main thing is to let them know that there's a lawyer
00:49:07.920 watching and they better not take liberties.
00:49:09.920 Yeah.
00:49:10.920 And by the time we, I mean, I got, I was back and forth, but they didn't even need that
00:49:17.920 nudge, sounds like, from a lawyer to know there was no case.
00:49:21.920 There was no nothing there.
00:49:22.920 There was nothing there.
00:49:23.920 Indeed.
00:49:24.920 And again, I go back.
00:49:25.920 What did I say?
00:49:26.920 Did any of the Durham cops say anything to you that was interesting?
00:49:29.920 Well, I gave, the RCMP lady gave her a side of the story.
00:49:33.920 What do you mean by that?
00:49:34.920 Well, she was the one that was part of the arrest team that was cuffing me.
00:49:37.920 So, like, the fact that the police have a side of the story, that the police are telling
00:49:41.920 another police, that's weird to me.
00:49:43.920 I haven't heard that before.
00:49:44.920 I've never seen it happen, Ezra.
00:49:45.920 So, the lady cop, did you hear what she said at all?
00:49:48.920 No, because I was told to stand back.
00:49:49.920 Right.
00:49:50.920 And I got bits and pieces and I heard, you know, he was obstructing the bus and, you
00:49:54.920 know, he wasn't listening to us.
00:49:55.920 Obstructing?
00:49:56.920 If only they'd go after obstruction of justice.
00:49:57.920 So, they made their case.
00:49:59.920 Yes.
00:50:00.920 It was like the Durham cops were the judge.
00:50:02.920 Indeed.
00:50:03.920 And I said to the constable, and again, I want to give props to the Durham Regional Police.
00:50:07.920 They were very nice and courteous to me.
00:50:08.920 And I said, sir, can I give my side of the story?
00:50:10.920 He said, absolutely.
00:50:11.920 He said, start talking.
00:50:13.920 I talked.
00:50:14.920 I said, this is what I'm doing.
00:50:15.920 I'm practicing journalism.
00:50:16.920 I was told, I was kicked out of the building, kicked off the parking lot.
00:50:19.920 I abided by that.
00:50:20.920 I said, your own colleague was part of the original visit to this venue.
00:50:25.920 And then when, you know, the bus came, I wanted to ask questions.
00:50:30.920 And he was, he came across from the point of view, Ezra, he says, you know that a moving
00:50:35.920 bus is kind of a dangerous thing you shouldn't get in front of.
00:50:38.920 So, he was just speaking common sense, practical safety.
00:50:40.920 Yes.
00:50:41.920 But that saying, hey, be careful of traffic, is not, hey, you broke the law.
00:50:46.920 It sounds like this Durham cop, and you say there were four or five squad cars?
00:50:49.920 Yes.
00:50:50.920 Sounds like they're thinking, why were you calling us off?
00:50:54.920 Exactly.
00:50:55.920 Real crimes to come here because someone did the crime of journalism?
00:50:59.920 It sounds like, if they're saying, hey, you know what, be careful of big cars and trucks.
00:51:03.920 Yeah, that's what, that's not someone looking to make an arrest.
00:51:06.920 That's someone saying, hey guys, can I please go back to my real job finding bank robbers?
00:51:12.920 Oh, and Ezra, I apologize to them, much like.
00:51:15.920 You apologize to Durham cops for wasting their time.
00:51:17.920 For wasting their time.
00:51:18.920 Much like, if you recall, the awesome Kian Bextie video with the Ann McGrath getting the cops.
00:51:23.920 Remember those two coppers?
00:51:24.920 Yeah.
00:51:25.920 They did a good job.
00:51:26.920 You know, they did a good job.
00:51:27.920 Kian was saying, I'm sorry to take you away from the real law enforcement matters.
00:51:31.920 But I got the, if I could read minds like the amazing Kreskin, I would say these cops are
00:51:37.920 like, why are we here?
00:51:39.920 Yeah, why are we here?
00:51:40.920 Like, where's your judgment?
00:51:41.920 Where's your discretion?
00:51:42.920 You know, police, you know, I, when I was very young, I article that a law firm and one
00:51:47.920 of the lawyers used to be a cop.
00:51:49.920 Oh.
00:51:50.920 So he was a cop who became a lawyer.
00:51:52.920 Very interesting to have both sides of that.
00:51:54.920 Yeah.
00:51:55.920 And cops legally have a lot of discretion.
00:51:58.920 You know what I mean?
00:51:59.920 It's up to the cops own judgment, taking in what he sees to arrest, not to arrest, to
00:52:05.920 make us, to give traffic safety advice.
00:52:07.920 And I bet those four or five Durham police were thinking, where's your, discretion is another
00:52:15.920 way of saying common sense.
00:52:16.920 Yeah.
00:52:17.920 I bet they were saying, where's your bloody common sense?
00:52:19.920 Yeah.
00:52:20.920 To the RCMP.
00:52:21.920 Like, why?
00:52:22.920 Why did you go through that?
00:52:24.920 And then why did you call us in?
00:52:26.920 And where's your head, mate?
00:52:27.920 Where's your head?
00:52:28.920 Indeed, Ezra.
00:52:29.920 I mean, let's think about this in practical terms.
00:52:32.920 Once I was cuffed and detained and they let the bus go by and it's got a head, even if
00:52:37.920 I were to run to my car, I would never catch it.
00:52:40.920 Mission accomplished.
00:52:41.920 We cleared the area.
00:52:43.920 Scheer is gone.
00:52:44.920 He doesn't have to deal with these impolite questions from this pesky journalist.
00:52:47.920 Why at that point say, ah, but wait a second, we're calling the Durham regional cops.
00:52:52.920 So the bus had left.
00:52:54.920 Oh, yes.
00:52:55.920 Okay.
00:52:56.920 So we've seen two parts of the video.
00:52:57.920 We saw when you were kicked out of the inner sanctum after having been escorted in there
00:53:02.920 by a CPC drone.
00:53:04.920 Then we saw when you tried to film on the sidewalk and eight seconds into that you were hustled
00:53:09.920 off.
00:53:10.920 Yeah.
00:53:11.920 So what you're saying is the bus then left.
00:53:14.920 100%.
00:53:15.920 Andrew Scheer left.
00:53:16.920 Yep.
00:53:17.920 And the RCMP waited around for the four or five Durham cops to come.
00:53:22.920 Yes.
00:53:23.920 And that was 10 minutes maybe?
00:53:24.920 It was a little longer than that.
00:53:25.920 15 minutes?
00:53:26.920 I think so.
00:53:27.920 Let's say 15 or 20 minutes?
00:53:29.920 Yep.
00:53:30.920 So for those 15 or 20 minutes, Scheer was gone, the bus was gone, the party had gone.
00:53:36.920 Yep.
00:53:37.920 It was just the RCMP waiting for the Durham cops and they didn't let you go.
00:53:41.920 I even said, can I please go now?
00:53:43.920 And they said, no, we've got the Durham Regional Police coming in and we're going to see if
00:53:47.920 they're going to charge you.
00:53:48.920 You know, words to that effect.
00:53:50.920 I'm deeply embarrassed for the Mounties.
00:53:52.920 From, was it Sam Reynolds, was that his name?
00:53:55.920 I forget the name of the iconic Northwest Mounted Policeman who set the standard for honor
00:54:01.920 and integrity from that to this clown of a commissioner we have who lets Justin Trudeau off the hook
00:54:08.920 and hugs him in public after the SNC-Lavalin matter.
00:54:13.920 I'm deeply embarrassed for the Mounties.
00:54:15.920 Oh, yeah.
00:54:16.920 And I mean, last week we saw another embarrassing event.
00:54:18.920 Friend of the show, Andrew Lawton, pulled over, you know, for following the Trudeau campaign bus.
00:54:23.920 Yeah, he was pulled over.
00:54:24.920 They didn't slap him in cuffs.
00:54:25.920 Okay, so we've got that last interaction, right, Justin?
00:54:28.920 So this is the actual cuffing.
00:54:33.920 Got it.
00:54:34.920 We've got two arrest videos.
00:54:35.920 Here's the first one.
00:54:36.920 This was filmed by Glenn McGregor, and I give him some tip of the hat for actually documenting it,
00:54:44.920 which I guess shows more interest than the other journalists who said,
00:54:49.920 David, can you get out of the way?
00:54:51.920 So here's Glenn McGregor filming the arrest.
00:54:53.920 Take a look.
00:54:54.920 Am I under arrest, sir, or the gentleman?
00:54:57.920 I think he said so.
00:54:59.920 I don't know what for.
00:55:00.920 I was on a public sidewalk, and the bus hit me, and then these guys are...
00:55:05.920 Well, well, I'm just, I'm just, the gentleman wanted me to answer the question.
00:55:10.920 I'm just trying to answer the question.
00:55:11.920 Am I under arrest?
00:55:12.920 If you're the one holding it, I assume you're law enforcement.
00:55:16.920 What exactly happened?
00:55:17.920 Why are you in handcuffs?
00:55:18.920 Well, I was trying to get Andrew Scheer to answer a question, some questions, such as,
00:55:25.920 if he's elected, will he end this media bailout?
00:55:28.920 Will he privatize the CBC?
00:55:30.920 What are his, you know, why are we not allowed into a press conference, and other members are?
00:55:37.920 These are not gotcha questions, you know, these are, I think, we're owed an answer to this,
00:55:44.920 especially when we're escorted out.
00:55:46.920 And now look at this guy's, handcuffed.
00:55:48.920 So you were escorted out and handcuffed?
00:55:50.920 Uh, no, uh, sorry, I was originally just, uh, brought out by the Durham Regional Police,
00:55:55.920 and told not to go on private property, even the parking lot, which I abided by.
00:56:00.920 Yes, sir.
00:56:01.920 So, I was on this guy, what?
00:56:03.920 Okay.
00:56:06.920 Thank you.
00:56:09.920 Can you move the phone now?
00:56:10.920 Okay.
00:56:13.920 You know, what a disgrace.
00:56:16.920 A disgrace.
00:56:17.920 I, I really cannot think of another journalist in Canada who has been handcuffed.
00:56:24.920 Now, I don't know what happened in the deep past.
00:56:29.920 I think, and I saw that the lady cop chat, was on the phone, and then chatted with the bald cop.
00:56:36.920 Yeah.
00:56:37.920 And then he uncuffed you.
00:56:38.920 Maybe someone was calling her and saying, are you serious?
00:56:43.920 You handcuffed a journalist?
00:56:45.920 Are you crazy?
00:56:47.920 Take those off him right now.
00:56:48.920 There's journalists there, and they saw you.
00:56:50.920 Are you, so maybe someone with sense said, what the hell are you doing?
00:56:56.920 Yeah.
00:56:57.920 But not before the world saw it.
00:56:58.920 And I thought, again, I remember when you were getting caned by Jonathan Yaniv, I thought,
00:57:03.920 how did you stay so calm?
00:57:04.920 You were very calm and articulate despite being handcuffed in an act of humiliation.
00:57:10.920 Yeah.
00:57:11.920 I think, like anyone who said, we've got to handcuff Menzies because he's a threat.
00:57:15.920 First of all, Shear and the bus had gone.
00:57:18.920 Second of all, I mean, I've known you on and off for 20 years.
00:57:22.920 I've never seen anything aggressive.
00:57:24.920 Like I said, I don't think I've even heard you swear.
00:57:26.920 No.
00:57:27.920 Handcuffing you served no purpose other than a tweak, other than a humiliation, other than
00:57:36.920 a, we can do this and we're going to do this, and what are you going to do about it?
00:57:40.920 What are you going to do about it?
00:57:41.920 Yeah.
00:57:42.920 I mean, listen, if I was a violent offender, Ezra, of course handcuff me and take me down.
00:57:46.920 But I think you're right.
00:57:48.920 Either they got a call saying, are you guys out of your mind?
00:57:51.920 Or maybe their own, you know, self-awareness kicked in and they realized-
00:57:57.920 Well, look like the lady cop was on the phone with someone.
00:57:59.920 That could have been her phoning Durham Regional Police, I think, you know.
00:58:02.920 Got it.
00:58:03.920 And, you know, the bald RCMP officer with that scrum of cameras, you can't see most of
00:58:08.920 the media filming this, he was probably very frustrated because this looks horrible,
00:58:13.920 I can't do anything, this idiot I've cuffed won't stop talking.
00:58:17.920 Right.
00:58:18.920 And you're very articulate.
00:58:19.920 Yeah, and I better get out of this mess because there's no way out of this.
00:58:23.920 All right, I got a few more Super Chats.
00:58:25.920 And folks, just to remind you, what's a Super Chat?
00:58:28.920 You chip in a few bucks, your comment gets put in a bright color.
00:58:31.920 I see it out of the corner of my eye.
00:58:33.920 It also gets appended to the top there.
00:58:35.920 And the good news is that YouTube shares 70% of that with us so it helps us pay the bills.
00:58:41.920 So Pepper52435 says, a vote for PPC is not a vote for Trudeau.
00:58:46.920 The Liberal Party would go the way of Wynne's party, judging by how outraged Canadians are
00:58:50.920 at the moment.
00:58:51.920 Okay.
00:58:52.920 Selfu says, five bucks for New Zealand.
00:58:58.920 Controversial thought, but what if Trump encouraged the Dems to speed up impeachment process to
00:59:03.920 prove how confident he is in securing 2020?
00:59:06.920 That's off-topic.
00:59:07.920 Thanks for the five New Zealand bucks anyways.
00:59:10.920 I don't think Trump needs to encourage the Dems to impeach.
00:59:14.920 I think that's all AOC in the squad.
00:59:16.920 Basil, two bucks, says PPC will not get more than 4%.
00:59:19.920 Sorry, all.
00:59:21.920 Well, I'm curious to see what bump, if any, Maxime Bernier gets out of the debate.
00:59:27.920 Fred Schneider, 20 bucks, freedom of the press.
00:59:30.920 Keep up the good work, Rebel News.
00:59:31.920 Well, thank you very much, and we sure will.
00:59:34.920 Basil again, Basil, five bucks.
00:59:36.920 Everyone was for Faith Goldie.
00:59:38.920 If you were to believe the YouTube crowd, Faith had it in the bag.
00:59:41.920 She got 3.4% of the votes.
00:59:43.920 I expect the same for Max.
00:59:44.920 Well, listen, I think that Maxime Bernier probably has some pockets where he'll do very
00:59:48.920 well and others where it won't even be a blip.
00:59:51.920 I regard it as a similar phenomenon to the growth of the Green Party, which is a reaction
00:59:57.920 to Justin Trudeau falling down.
01:00:00.920 Social loner, why exactly was David arrested?
01:00:03.920 Well, you've tuned into the right live chat for the answer to that, and it's the subject
01:00:08.920 of our extended conversation.
01:00:11.920 Now, I understand we have one more video from the actual arrest moment, so just to recap
01:00:16.920 for that last super chatter and those who missed it, and you correct me if I'm wrong.
01:00:23.920 We received an invitation, as did all media.
01:00:26.920 Like, by the way, I get invitations from the liberal.
01:00:28.920 We're on all the media lists.
01:00:29.920 Yeah.
01:00:30.920 I get NDP lists.
01:00:31.920 I get NDP invitations.
01:00:33.920 I get liberal invitations.
01:00:35.920 I get conservative invitations.
01:00:36.920 I get PPC invitations.
01:00:38.920 I don't think I get any block invitations, but we, if you doubt it, I'm just telling you,
01:00:43.920 we get official invitations every day for all the parties.
01:00:46.920 What am I saying?
01:00:47.920 I get Green Party invitations, too.
01:00:48.920 Oh, and as you pointed out earlier, a videotape of Andrew Scheer answering a 14-year-old girl
01:00:54.920 that we're welcome.
01:00:55.920 Yeah.
01:00:56.920 Andrew Scheer specifically said we're welcome when specifically asked, and that was just
01:00:59.920 a few months ago.
01:01:01.920 When you arrived, you were personally escorted in by a conservative attache.
01:01:06.920 Correct.
01:01:07.920 A bunch of cops stop you, throw you against the wall twice, if I recall, tell you to leave.
01:01:13.920 You leave.
01:01:14.920 It's outrageous, but you do it.
01:01:16.920 You leave the parking lot.
01:01:18.920 You leave the building.
01:01:19.920 You're on a public sidewalk.
01:01:20.920 You're about to film.
01:01:22.920 Boom!
01:01:23.920 A bunch of cops grab you, grab your phone after eight seconds, and the bus nudges you,
01:01:27.920 which sounds dumb.
01:01:30.920 Bus leaves.
01:01:31.920 Everyone's gone except for a handful of media, I guess, who are curious about you.
01:01:36.920 Yep.
01:01:37.920 Including Glenn McGregor, whose footage we're relying on here.
01:01:40.920 And I'm grateful for it.
01:01:41.920 Yeah.
01:01:42.920 Yep.
01:01:43.920 And instead of saying, all right, David, fly straight or whatever.
01:01:48.920 Yeah.
01:01:49.920 They call fours?
01:01:51.920 Was it four or five?
01:01:53.920 Like, are you like Andre the Giant?
01:01:55.920 Like, rawr!
01:01:56.920 We need five.
01:01:58.920 Like, at least they didn't bring the SWAT team and the tasers.
01:02:02.920 They're calling all cars.
01:02:03.920 Yeah.
01:02:04.920 And they arrest you and handcuff you.
01:02:07.920 And then cops calling other cops to say, can you arrest this guy?
01:02:11.920 Now, there's one more clip we have.
01:02:13.920 One more tape.
01:02:14.920 Let's take a look at that last one.
01:02:15.920 You know, you're so concerned you got my wrists and, you know, handcuffs.
01:02:21.920 You know?
01:02:22.920 So you'll be safe, okay?
01:02:24.920 Listen, I know I'm not part of Jerry Diaz's Unifor Union,
01:02:27.920 but it'd be nice if you gentlemen and lady would give some solidarity.
01:02:32.920 Come on.
01:02:33.920 Can I not talk to these members of the press?
01:02:36.920 Do we have freedom of press here?
01:02:38.920 Do we or not?
01:02:39.920 Right?
01:02:40.920 Pardon me?
01:02:41.920 Yeah.
01:02:42.920 So, this is...
01:02:44.920 I don't know why I'm being arrested.
01:02:47.920 I was...
01:02:48.920 Yeah, thank you.
01:02:49.920 Get a picture of that, sir.
01:02:50.920 My own safety.
01:02:51.920 The bus is gone.
01:02:52.920 I was on a public sidewalk.
01:02:53.920 I was not on private property.
01:02:55.920 Are you in control?
01:02:57.920 I'm in perfect control.
01:02:59.920 You know?
01:03:00.920 Yeah.
01:03:01.920 You guys...
01:03:02.920 Well, it's a question.
01:03:04.920 Very interesting.
01:03:05.920 I'm just taking some notes here.
01:03:07.920 Okay.
01:03:08.920 The first thing you said is, is this a...
01:03:10.920 Because I'm not a Unifor Union thing.
01:03:12.920 Will any other Unifor Union, Justin Journos, Bailout Media stand up for me?
01:03:16.920 I thought that was an excellent point.
01:03:18.920 You were very effective there.
01:03:19.920 And like I say, very calm.
01:03:21.920 And it's so clear what they were trying to do.
01:03:25.920 They were trying to get you into the car.
01:03:28.920 Correct.
01:03:29.920 To shut me up.
01:03:30.920 They opened the door because they thought, this looks really, really, really bad.
01:03:34.920 Yeah.
01:03:35.920 He's talking and he's not talking like a wild, crazy man.
01:03:38.920 He's actually saying politically powerful things.
01:03:41.920 And they were trying to get you into the car.
01:03:44.920 And you, in your Columbo way that I always talk about, how you just sort of...
01:03:50.920 You didn't get in there.
01:03:51.920 And they were the ones who blinked and uncuffed you.
01:03:54.920 And I think they said something like, are you out of control?
01:03:57.920 No.
01:03:58.920 I think we know who the out of control side was there.
01:04:01.920 And it starts with an RC and ends with an MP.
01:04:05.920 Let's read some more chats here.
01:04:07.920 Basil, 10 bucks says, I'm not a sheer apologist.
01:04:10.920 I think he did wrong and I like the rebel.
01:04:12.920 But facts are facts.
01:04:13.920 People think Max will win because Trump won.
01:04:15.920 Not even close scenarios.
01:04:16.920 I want Trudeau out.
01:04:17.920 Stop the bleeding.
01:04:18.920 You know what?
01:04:19.920 I hear that every single day.
01:04:21.920 And that, and I, you know, I'll take your point.
01:04:24.920 That has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Andrew Scheer should have a reporter
01:04:29.920 of any stripe arrested.
01:04:30.920 Now, I happen to know David and he happens to work for the rebel.
01:04:33.920 And I spent a little bit of time today on this matter, talking to you, talking to the lawyer.
01:04:37.920 In the end, we didn't need a lawyer, thank goodness.
01:04:39.920 But I didn't know.
01:04:40.920 I honestly didn't know because when they took the phone away from you, I lost contact.
01:04:45.920 The only experience I have had with police has been in the UK.
01:04:49.920 Yes.
01:04:50.920 I didn't know if they were going to take you to the jail.
01:04:52.920 And I know one thing, a missus don't like it if their husband don't come home at the
01:04:57.920 end of the day.
01:04:58.920 And I remember when Tommy was arrested in Canterbury, he was arrested at 4.30 in the morning.
01:05:03.920 We worked for 13 hours.
01:05:04.920 We called every jail in the UK, every police station in the UK.
01:05:07.920 We found him.
01:05:08.920 We sent lawyers up there.
01:05:09.920 We got him home 13 hours after he was arrested.
01:05:12.920 4.30 arrested and 5.30 PM, we got him free.
01:05:16.920 And I thought, this is going to be a busy day.
01:05:18.920 We're going to have to find David, send lawyers there and get him out.
01:05:22.920 And get him out.
01:05:23.920 Now, luckily, the Durham Regional Police had more sense than the Canterbury Police.
01:05:27.920 For sure.
01:05:28.920 But not if the RCMP had their way.
01:05:30.920 No.
01:05:31.920 The RCMP was literally arguing to Durham Police why they should arrest you.
01:05:35.920 Is that what you said happened?
01:05:37.920 Absolutely.
01:05:38.920 That's what the female RCMP officer said, Ezra.
01:05:40.920 And I don't know the nuances of law enforcement and the powers and what have you.
01:05:44.920 But it begs the question, if she and her colleagues thought I had done something arrestable, if
01:05:51.920 that's a word, then why didn't they just arrest me?
01:05:54.920 Yeah.
01:05:55.920 Don't they have arresting powers, the RCMP?
01:05:56.920 Yeah.
01:05:57.920 Or do they just want the local police force to do their dirty work?
01:06:00.920 Yeah.
01:06:01.920 Maybe they've got to go.
01:06:02.920 Yeah.
01:06:03.920 I mean, I have no idea.
01:06:04.920 Hey, Justin, can I bug you for another bottle of water?
01:06:07.920 I'm so sorry, folks.
01:06:08.920 I got a bit of a cold and I don't want to just start coughing.
01:06:11.920 Justin, I apologize for this request, but I just really need it.
01:06:14.920 Thank you.
01:06:15.920 Reverb $256.
01:06:16.920 Two bucks.
01:06:17.920 Liberal Tory.
01:06:18.920 Same old story.
01:06:19.920 Trust yourselves.
01:06:20.920 Well, look.
01:06:21.920 Everyone who knows me knows that I have been right of center since I was a teenager.
01:06:27.920 Thanks very much, Justin.
01:06:28.920 I appreciate that.
01:06:29.920 Cheers.
01:06:30.920 That I have been a conservative.
01:06:33.920 I used to be conservative, then Reform Party, then Canadian Alliance.
01:06:38.920 Now, I have not been a card-carrying member because I've been a journalist at the Sun News
01:06:43.920 and here, but I just wrote a best-selling book called The Libranos, What the Media Won't
01:06:48.920 Tell You About Justin Trudeau's Corruption.
01:06:49.920 There's no secret where I'm coming from, but that doesn't mean I'm so stupid or biased that I'm going to support any political leader regardless.
01:06:59.920 I mean, and I would say to all the Andrew Scheer-supporting conservatives right now, call your MP and tell them to, call your candidate and tell them to get their heads screwed on straight.
01:07:10.920 And if you feel better making that call in private than saying so in public, well, do it.
01:07:15.920 Because I've got to tell you, if you're worried about splittism, if you're worried about people hiving off from the conservatives and voting for Maxime Bernier, well, just keep arresting David Menzies.
01:07:27.920 I think that arrest is good for a 1% bump in anybody but Andrew Scheer.
01:07:33.920 I mean, seriously, you think you're going to be pulling votes over from the liberals?
01:07:37.920 Let me read some more.
01:07:38.920 Coppa Dissau, 22 Norwegian Kroners, says, Scheer in Canada was the one who was humiliated.
01:07:45.920 That's true.
01:07:46.920 Yeah, well, when I say humiliated, I'm not saying that you were humiliated.
01:07:50.920 In fact, I'm sort of making the opposite point.
01:07:52.920 You had a dignity and a presence of mind that is rare.
01:07:56.920 And I said this about when you were hit with the cane also.
01:07:58.920 I would have lost my mind.
01:08:00.920 I would have just gone.
01:08:02.920 You were calm.
01:08:04.920 That's why they wanted to put you in the SUV.
01:08:07.920 Correct.
01:08:08.920 Because you were saying things.
01:08:09.920 You were comporting yourself very well.
01:08:11.920 And by the way, you're dressed in a suit with a tie.
01:08:13.920 I'm the bum with no tie.
01:08:15.920 So you were looking good and they were looking bad.
01:08:18.920 Minute by minute by minute, they were looking worse.
01:08:21.920 Sorry, go ahead.
01:08:22.920 You were going to say?
01:08:23.920 I want to say, Ezra, you're giving your resume of how you've been linked to conservative causes in the past decades.
01:08:30.920 I can't think of anyone else who, you know, if I was part of any conservative party, who I'd want as an ally on my side than Ezra Levent.
01:08:40.920 That's 100% honest.
01:08:42.920 The second thing is, let's be honest, we all know since day one, Andrew Scheer, love him or hate him, he is weak.
01:08:49.920 And I know you've said in the office that you feel our job is to nudge Mr. Scheer to get his backbone, get his spine, get his mojo going.
01:09:00.920 You know, be the leader because, let's face it, job one is removing this buffoon in the Liberal Party out of office after the four years of damage.
01:09:12.920 And, you know, Ezra, I've got to say this.
01:09:15.920 As I say in sports telecasts, the clock is becoming a factor.
01:09:19.920 We are exactly three weeks away from the election.
01:09:22.920 Maybe your master plan of, you know, trying to get Andrew Scheer to find his spine, that was like an impossible task.
01:09:28.920 Well, listen.
01:09:29.920 But this is something else.
01:09:30.920 Our only master plan today was to have you cover a campaign event and ask some questions that you actually asked outside the police fan there.
01:09:37.920 And I thought they were good questions.
01:09:38.920 That was our only plan.
01:09:39.920 Yeah.
01:09:42.920 And by the way, thank you for your praise about my conservative bona fides.
01:09:45.920 Anyone who's ever been to a Ford Nation barbecue knows David Menzies.
01:09:50.920 All right.
01:09:51.920 Fan club, mutual fan club going on here.
01:09:53.920 Let me read a few more of these super chats.
01:09:57.920 Greg Orr, five bucks.
01:09:59.920 Thank you, Greg.
01:10:00.920 Rory Ellsworth, five bucks.
01:10:01.920 Hey, David.
01:10:02.920 I was on another YouTube channel that had global news.
01:10:04.920 Everyone in the comments said they are now going to vote PPC and they are disgusted.
01:10:08.920 Wow.
01:10:09.920 Well, see, I just find it a very frustrating thing.
01:10:13.920 We've been talking about the political fallout of it, but it's not even a partisan thing.
01:10:18.920 It's a, what the hell are you doing in Canada?
01:10:20.920 Basil, another super chat.
01:10:21.920 And sadly, yes, Scheer is a cuck.
01:10:23.920 I wish Max actually did have a chance.
01:10:25.920 Max has bumbled every chance he's had to actually build a good platform.
01:10:28.920 See, these are all legitimate partisan points.
01:10:31.920 I'm trying, perhaps unsuccessfully, to make a different point, which is even if David were
01:10:39.920 a New Democrat, it would be wrong to cuff a New Democrat who's just asking questions.
01:10:45.920 Exactly.
01:10:46.920 I see King of the plus 15 chipped in 20 bucks.
01:10:48.920 Thank you for that.
01:10:50.920 Basil, another 10 bucks.
01:10:51.920 Tammy Lynn of PPC swept the floor with CPC and LPC debates in Burnaby.
01:10:56.920 She walked over all the other candidates.
01:10:57.920 She got 10 percent.
01:10:58.920 CPC and LPC each got 30 percent.
01:11:00.920 I like Terry.
01:11:01.920 I think it's Terry Lynn Taylor, I think.
01:11:04.920 She's great.
01:11:05.920 Yeah, I've met her a few times.
01:11:06.920 Laura Lynn Taylor, sorry, sorry.
01:11:11.920 Thank you, Justin, for correcting me.
01:11:13.920 And thank you for the water.
01:11:14.920 I was coughing without it.
01:11:16.920 All right.
01:11:17.920 I think I've cleared up the super chats.
01:11:19.920 We've been talking for almost an hour, David.
01:11:23.920 Yes.
01:11:24.920 And I propose to wrap it up in a few minutes.
01:11:27.920 Let me check with Justin.
01:11:28.920 Do we have any more footage, either from David or from the internet, that's interesting?
01:11:36.920 The only way we have is here.
01:11:39.920 Okay.
01:11:40.920 I think we've got the key elements then.
01:11:43.920 I want to show the three key clips in a row.
01:11:47.920 And I do think these are all from Glenn McGregor.
01:11:49.920 So let me give him credit.
01:11:50.920 We have a little credit on the screen.
01:11:52.920 And Glenn McGregor is no fan of the conservatives.
01:11:58.920 But it's interesting to me that he, as far as I can see, is the only one who has posted
01:12:03.920 this video online.
01:12:04.920 It's almost like the other Unifor journalists.
01:12:06.920 And Glenn McGregor is a Unifor journalist with CTV.
01:12:08.920 They have a shop over there.
01:12:11.920 Maybe he's enough of a dissident himself that he's, maybe in the back of his mind,
01:12:16.920 he's thinking, you know, I don't like the rebel and I don't like Menzies and I'm more a lefty,
01:12:21.920 but there's something that a journalist here of any stripe should be concerned about.
01:12:26.920 Maybe that's, maybe he's got a little bit of that underneath him, deep, deep, deep in his heart.
01:12:33.920 You know what?
01:12:34.920 I think you nailed it.
01:12:36.920 There is a point that even, and I'm not saying Ms. McGregor has drunk the Kool-Aid of Unifor and the government bailout and all that other stuff, Ezra,
01:12:44.920 but maybe there's a point that you have to at some point be true to your profession.
01:12:51.920 And this is just over the line.
01:12:53.920 I think you're right.
01:12:54.920 Maybe it has happened that a journalist has been handcuffed and roughed up.
01:12:59.920 I can't think of it.
01:13:00.920 I can't remember.
01:13:01.920 I can't think of it.
01:13:02.920 And if you had, and this is so far from the truth, if you had made a threat, physically blocked, physically attacked, shouted, swore, disrupted, I can see you being pulled out.
01:13:18.920 Me too.
01:13:19.920 But you didn't do that.
01:13:20.920 No.
01:13:21.920 Like even, like the Grassy Narrows.
01:13:23.920 Yes.
01:13:24.920 You know what I'm talking about?
01:13:25.920 Do we have that Grassy Narrows clip handy?
01:13:26.920 You know, the Grassy Narrows, they came right into an event, so that was a private event.
01:13:29.920 It was not a news conference.
01:13:30.920 Yeah.
01:13:31.920 It was a fundraiser, wasn't even a news conference.
01:13:33.920 I don't think media were invited.
01:13:36.920 They were disruptive.
01:13:38.920 They didn't swear, but they shouted.
01:13:41.920 Yes.
01:13:42.920 They were locked out, and that's it.
01:13:45.920 In fact, they actually got their refund.
01:13:47.920 They didn't get an arrest.
01:13:50.920 Here, let me just show you.
01:13:52.920 Here's the Grassy Narrows.
01:13:53.920 Do you remember this?
01:13:54.920 Take a look.
01:13:55.920 Oh, yes.
01:13:56.920 You and the Grassy Narrows are suffering from mercury poisoning.
01:13:58.920 You committed to addressing this crisis.
01:14:01.920 Thank you for being here.
01:14:02.920 Thank you very much for your donation tonight.
01:14:04.920 I really appreciate the donation to the Liberal Party of Canada.
01:14:08.920 Thanks, Jackson.
01:14:09.920 Shameful.
01:14:10.920 Thanks, Jackson.
01:14:11.920 So, disruptive, private function.
01:14:16.920 I guess you could say she was invited because she paid the $1,500 or whatever.
01:14:21.920 No arrest there, and no arrest would be appropriate.
01:14:25.920 You did less than that in every occasion.
01:14:27.920 You were invited in.
01:14:28.920 You were escorted in.
01:14:30.920 You didn't shout.
01:14:31.920 You didn't disrupt.
01:14:32.920 You weren't antagonistic to the purpose of the event.
01:14:35.920 That's someone who had a collateral purpose and was opportunistic.
01:14:38.920 And by the way, I salute their enterprise.
01:14:40.920 You were doing what you were invited to do.
01:14:43.920 Yes.
01:14:44.920 And you were escorted out, bumped twice into the wall from what I saw, which is inappropriate.
01:14:52.920 You complied.
01:14:53.920 You left both the parking lot and the property.
01:14:55.920 You were on the pedestrian sidewalk.
01:14:57.920 You were then arrested after eight seconds of trying to film something, bumped by the bus.
01:15:02.920 And you're telling me it didn't hurt, and that's fine, but that's irrelevant in law.
01:15:05.920 If someone bumps you with the bus, it doesn't matter if they hurt you or not.
01:15:08.920 Arrested, handcuffed, deliberately attempted to humiliate you.
01:15:12.920 It actually backfired on the cops, which is why they tried to put you in the SUV.
01:15:17.920 They called Durham cops, and then they argued.
01:15:21.920 No, I swear he did something wrong.
01:15:24.920 I swear you should arrest him.
01:15:25.920 I swear.
01:15:26.920 And Durham said, hey, guy, you know, be careful of big buses, okay?
01:15:29.920 You know, just common sense.
01:15:30.920 You don't want to be run over.
01:15:32.920 Let him go.
01:15:33.920 Like, actually, they were the only grown-ups in this whole thing, weren't they?
01:15:35.920 Correct.
01:15:36.920 Yep.
01:15:37.920 Hats go off to them.
01:15:38.920 You know, and here's the big question for me, Ezra.
01:15:41.920 With the Grassy Narrows protester, the optics were brutal for Trudeau.
01:15:46.920 I think that was one of the first times he came close to actually offering a sincere apology for something he did by making a joke about, ha-ha, contaminated water, deal with it.
01:15:55.920 Thanks for your contribution.
01:15:56.920 Yeah.
01:15:57.920 I think the optics for Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party are brutal on this, and my question is this, my friend.
01:16:04.920 I'm going to keep covering.
01:16:06.920 I'm not going away.
01:16:07.920 You know, they can beat me up and handcuff me and threaten me with the rest.
01:16:11.920 I'm still going to cover Andrew Scheer as I'm covering the other leaders.
01:16:15.920 I wonder if they've learned anything.
01:16:17.920 If I go to the next press conference, whenever that is, Ezra, are they going to say, you know what, given what happened in Whitby, let's not lose our stuff?
01:16:28.920 Or are they going to double down and, again, get the goon squad out and phone the police?
01:16:35.920 That is my question.
01:16:36.920 How are they going to handle it the next time the rebel, and if it's not me, maybe one of my colleagues, you know, Kian, Jessica, Sheila, show up to a leadership event.
01:16:45.920 How are they going to handle that?
01:16:47.920 I wonder if they've learned anything from this.
01:16:49.920 Yeah, I don't know the answer to that, but we will find out because our response is not to bend the knee.
01:16:57.920 Yeah.
01:16:58.920 But to stiffen the spine.
01:16:59.920 Now, we've set up a website.
01:17:01.920 Justin, can you call up letusreport.com?
01:17:04.920 We just revved up this website, and I'll just scroll through it here to show our folks what is going on in the website.
01:17:13.920 While we do, I'll just say thank you to Sandra Vaughn for 22 bucks.
01:17:17.920 I appreciate that.
01:17:18.920 Thank you.
01:17:19.920 So, it's a petition.
01:17:20.920 Why did Andrew Scheer send police to arrest reporter David Menzies?
01:17:23.920 And then there's a little video I did.
01:17:25.920 I cannot believe it.
01:17:26.920 We sent David the Menzoid Menzies.
01:17:28.920 They arrested him.
01:17:30.920 He said we were welcome.
01:17:33.920 Who ordered the arrest?
01:17:35.920 Why did it happen?
01:17:36.920 He was on the sidewalk.
01:17:37.920 Here's three things you can do.
01:17:39.920 Tell your local conservative candidate this is nuts.
01:17:41.920 Sign our petition to Andrew Scheer by adding your name below.
01:17:44.920 And finally, please help us keep on reporting no matter who kicks us out.
01:17:49.920 We're going to ask questions like these.
01:17:52.920 And here you go.
01:17:53.920 So, if you click down, you can sign the petition.
01:17:58.920 And I think there's a link there somewhere if you want to chip in to actually donate.
01:18:03.920 Looks like we have 297 comments already, which is great.
01:18:06.920 Oh, wow.
01:18:07.920 And there should be a link there and a way to chip in to help keep covering the various candidates.
01:18:15.920 Oh, the donate is up in the corner there.
01:18:21.920 We'll have to make sure to tell our web team to make it more visible than that.
01:18:25.920 Oh, yes.
01:18:26.920 No, I'm not kidding because we got a, you know, we're not just covering candidates in the Toronto area.
01:18:31.920 Sheila's based in Edmonton.
01:18:33.920 Kean's based in Calgary.
01:18:34.920 Jessica's also here in the GTA.
01:18:36.920 But we have been flying around.
01:18:38.920 You even flew down to South Carolina to chase down the story the other day.
01:18:41.920 And so we do need the dough.
01:18:43.920 Oh, I see another super chat from Anthony Ludmillon.
01:18:46.920 Thank you very much.
01:18:47.920 20 bucks.
01:18:48.920 All right.
01:18:49.920 Let's check the time.
01:18:50.920 It's 4.46.
01:18:51.920 We've been doing this for an hour.
01:18:52.920 So what are you going to do?
01:18:57.920 I'm going to do my job, Ezra.
01:18:59.920 Whatever you say you want me to cover, I'm going to do it.
01:19:01.920 Cover the campaign.
01:19:02.920 Cover Trudeau.
01:19:03.920 Cover Scheer.
01:19:04.920 Cover anyone.
01:19:05.920 Ask the right questions.
01:19:07.920 Keep your style.
01:19:08.920 Keep being polite.
01:19:09.920 Keep being law-abiding.
01:19:10.920 Leave private property when asked.
01:19:13.920 Don't leave, don't rush out, but leave out.
01:19:16.920 Be polite with the cops, but don't bend the knee.
01:19:18.920 Know your rights.
01:19:19.920 Yes.
01:19:20.920 Call if you get in trouble.
01:19:21.920 For sure.
01:19:22.920 And thankfully, as you mentioned with the Canterbury police, it looks like we're not
01:19:27.920 there, or we're not there yet, where you actually get locked up for practicing journalism.
01:19:32.920 But to me, this is astonishing that, you know, we know how much Justin Trudeau loves censorship.
01:19:41.920 We know how his Liberal Party want to bring back Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act that Stephen Harper got rid of in 2013.
01:19:49.920 We know about this idea of the internet being vetted by government for wrong political speech.
01:19:56.920 That's what Trudeau's about.
01:19:57.920 That's what Trudeau's about.
01:19:58.920 I thought, until today, Andrew Scheer was about the opposite of all that.
01:20:03.920 Yeah.
01:20:04.920 I really did.
01:20:05.920 And now I found out, you know, as The Who once sang, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
01:20:10.920 It's so disappointing, Ezra, because I am with those millions of Canadians, and that's not an exaggeration, millions that are praying and dreaming of regime change.
01:20:22.920 Yeah.
01:20:23.920 And when I see something like this, it's like a self-inflicted wound by the guy who's got the best chance.
01:20:29.920 Yeah, you're right.
01:20:30.920 Well, I know what I'm going to do.
01:20:32.920 I'm going to keep doing what we have done since the rebel was born, to tell the other side of the story,
01:20:38.920 to do so with a conservative freedom orientation, to fight for free speech, to support citizen journalists,
01:20:45.920 to generally be on the right-hand side of the ledger, but to ask honest accountability questions to conservative politicians, too.
01:20:54.920 Never to take a government dime, always to do our best to be candid, follow the facts wherever they lead.
01:21:01.920 We're going to keep doing that.
01:21:02.920 If folks can help us, I'd be grateful.
01:21:04.920 Go to LattusReport.com, sign that petition.
01:21:07.920 There should be a donation link on that page, because we do need some dough to travel around.
01:21:12.920 We're flying around, I don't know if you noticed that.
01:21:14.920 I guess the main thing is the first thing.
01:21:18.920 If you've got a conservative candidate, you're helping, you're door-knocking, whatever,
01:21:24.920 and if you don't want to publicly shame them, and they have shamed themselves,
01:21:28.920 phone them or email them and say, what on earth are you thinking?
01:21:34.920 And it's not even that it's David or the rebel.
01:21:37.920 It's any reporter, what are you thinking?
01:21:40.920 All right, before we go, David, there's a few Super Chats that I see just come in.
01:21:43.920 Fantastic.
01:21:44.920 And I want to say thanks to them.
01:21:45.920 Okay.
01:21:46.920 So Christopher Hillary, two bucks.
01:21:48.920 Thank you.
01:21:49.920 Keith McIntosh, another 20 mix in pesos.
01:21:51.920 Shear is Nance Landers without a backbone.
01:21:53.920 I see Social Loaner, two pounds.
01:21:56.920 Who do you think will win the election?
01:21:58.920 Boy, it's tied up right now.
01:22:01.920 I'd say right now it's either a Trudeau minority or a Shear minority.
01:22:04.920 I agree.
01:22:05.920 Cody Sylvester, 21 bucks.
01:22:07.920 Thank you.
01:22:08.920 AV1611, Jisapochnik.
01:22:10.920 I'm sorry I'm saying that wrong.
01:22:11.920 Two bucks.
01:22:12.920 Thank you.
01:22:13.920 Basil, 10 bucks.
01:22:14.920 If you guys actually want to make a change, you need to join the CPC and get involved politically
01:22:18.920 within, turn the party right from inside.
01:22:21.920 Starting over with PPC is not the answer.
01:22:23.920 The Tories are the loudest.
01:22:25.920 All right.
01:22:26.920 I assume you're speaking to our viewers because we don't join parties here.
01:22:30.920 We're sympathetic to ideas, but we're not members of parties.
01:22:34.920 That helps us keep free.
01:22:35.920 Okay.
01:22:36.920 A new super chat just came in.
01:22:38.920 X Factor 499.
01:22:39.920 Can PPC win this time?
01:22:40.920 It's so sad to see Canada becoming a corrupt clownocracy.
01:22:44.920 I'm an immigrant in Canada.
01:22:46.920 Came in the legal way.
01:22:47.920 I'm appalled.
01:22:48.920 Look, I'll be very candid with you.
01:22:50.920 I do not see a PPC victory.
01:22:53.920 I just don't think that's statistically possible.
01:22:56.920 What I hope is two things, that the PPC does elect some MPs because I like their style.
01:23:02.920 Yeah.
01:23:03.920 But more importantly, I hope that Andrew Scheer says, holy moly, if I don't start being for
01:23:08.920 free speech, being against political correctness, speaking up on issues of controversy against
01:23:13.920 the grain, like let's stop open borders migration and let's stop this global warming craziness,
01:23:19.920 I'm going to lose votes to the PPC.
01:23:21.920 So my hope is that Maxine Bernie is a sort of stalking horse that makes Andrew Scheer
01:23:26.920 fly straight.
01:23:27.920 But that's not my job.
01:23:28.920 Our job is to be journalists.
01:23:30.920 The political math, the political strategy, that's not us.
01:23:33.920 And I think, I mean, you're asking me as a pundit what I think.
01:23:36.920 I told you what I think.
01:23:37.920 But our job is to be journalists no matter who's there.
01:23:40.920 Folks, we've been doing this for over an hour.
01:23:41.920 David, thanks for sitting down.
01:23:42.920 Thank you so much, Ezra.
01:23:43.920 Thank you to our viewers, especially all those who chipped into the Super Chats.
01:23:46.920 Thank you.
01:23:47.920 I'm going to invite everyone one more time to go to letusreport.com.
01:23:52.920 Looks like hundreds of people have already done so in the last hour.
01:23:56.920 That's it for this special broadcast, YouTube Super Chat.
01:24:01.920 Normally we do these Fridays at noon, but I'm glad you could join us on short notice today.
01:24:06.920 David, I'm glad you're free and going home today.
01:24:09.920 But we did, we do have a plan ready.
01:24:13.920 God forbid one of the people in our company is arrested.
01:24:17.920 I never thought it would be you.
01:24:19.920 And I never thought it would be at the hands of the conservatives.
01:24:22.920 I frankly thought it would be me at the hands of Justin Trudeau.
01:24:25.920 Maybe that's my own narcissism.
01:24:27.920 But I'm glad you're safe and sound.
01:24:29.920 Oh, no.
01:24:30.920 And you're much too important to be arrested.
01:24:31.920 We don't want the queen bee taken out of the hive.
01:24:33.920 A little drone like me, that's okay.
01:24:35.920 But, you know, not...
01:24:36.920 Well, you're too humble, David.
01:24:37.920 Congratulations on a gay...
01:24:38.920 Thank you, Ezra.
01:24:39.920 Thank you for your support.
01:24:40.920 ...well fought.
01:24:41.920 You kept your composure in a challenging situation in a manner that 99 out of 100 people would
01:24:49.920 not have done.
01:24:50.920 And I hesitate to say, I myself would have been one of the 99 who would have lost their
01:24:55.920 cool.
01:24:56.920 You stayed calm and cool, which is why they unhandcuffed you.
01:25:01.920 Because they, your calmness, showed how wrong they were.
01:25:04.920 All right, I'm going on too long.
01:25:05.920 Thank you, Ezra.
01:25:06.920 Folks, thanks for your support.
01:25:07.920 Well, if you've made it this far, you've watched probably my longest show of the year,
01:25:20.920 it's because I really wanted to have a proper post-mortem with David.
01:25:25.920 And I promise you this, we're going to keep reporting.
01:25:27.920 We're going to keep doing journalism.
01:25:29.920 There are questions Andrew Scheer should answer.
01:25:32.920 You heard David say some of them.
01:25:36.920 Would you support the $600 million media bailout?
01:25:39.920 Would you privatize the CBC?
01:25:41.920 What do you think of this and that?
01:25:42.920 There's real questions there.
01:25:44.920 We're not done asking those questions.
01:25:46.920 And now we've got a new one.
01:25:48.920 Did you order the arrest of David Menzies?
01:25:50.920 And if so, who the hell do you think you are?
01:25:54.920 It's a question I always thought I'd put to Justin Trudeau.
01:25:57.920 I never thought I'd put it to Andrew Scheer.
01:25:59.920 Well, folks, that's the show for today.
01:26:01.920 No time for letters.
01:26:02.920 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters,
01:26:05.920 see you at home, keep fighting for freedom.
