Rebel News Podcast - SHEILA GUNN REID ｜ Our latest documentary is finished, and we are taking it on tour

00:00:00.000 A brand new documentary is finished and we're ready to show the world.

00:00:03.160 I'm Sheila Gunn-Reed and you're watching The Gunn Show.

00:00:05.360 The Gunn Show

00:00:35.360 was engulfed in fear.

00:00:36.580 COVID-19, which is causing all of the concern right now.

00:00:39.780 Pastors faced an unimaginable trial.

00:00:42.820 They were wrongfully persecuted during the COVID-19 pandemic,

00:00:46.720 their voices silenced by oppressive measures.

00:00:49.560 And we realized something doesn't match up.

00:00:53.400 There's an agenda under the surface here.

00:00:55.520 I cannot abide under their wishes.

00:01:00.040 I cannot just abide this new norm, if you will.

00:01:03.660 In the face of adversity, they held on to their beliefs,

00:01:07.080 defending the sacred right to worship.

00:01:09.080 Out of this property, you Nazis! 1.00

00:01:11.800 Out! 0.92

00:01:12.520 Join us on an extraordinary voyage across Canada

00:01:15.300 as we shine a light on the untold stories of these pastors

00:01:19.060 who were wrongfully persecuted during COVID-19,

00:01:22.800 witness their courage, their unwavering faith,

00:01:25.620 and their determination to reclaim their voices in the face of adversity.

00:01:29.280 I'm not going to let those who are in Ottawa determine my peace, my joy.

00:01:34.700 You're disobedient to the government or disobedient to God,

00:01:37.340 and take your pick.

00:01:40.840 This summer, embark on an unforgettable exploration

00:01:44.100 through Church Under Fire,

00:01:46.100 Canada's War on Christianity, 0.60

00:01:48.320 a documentary that will inspire and challenge your perceptions.

00:01:52.180 Experience their remarkable stories,

00:01:54.280 a testament to the indomitable human spirit and the power of faith.

00:01:58.320 That's the trailer for our brand new documentary,

00:02:23.060 Church Under Fire, Canada's War on Christianity.

00:02:25.280 You can get details and showtimes at savethechristians.com.

00:02:31.880 But I wanted to have my filmmaking partner on that project,

00:02:37.460 our head of documentaries, Kian Simone, on the show with me today

00:02:40.540 to talk about, you know, the finishing touches

00:02:43.100 that we've put on the documentary

00:02:44.640 and how we're trying our best to bring it to a town near you.

00:02:50.560 So joining me now in an interview,

00:02:51.900 well, we just finished recording,

00:02:53.900 is my friend and colleague

00:02:56.520 and documentary partner, Kian Simone.

00:03:01.120 Take a listen.

00:03:09.420 So joining me now is my friend and colleague,

00:03:12.340 chief documentary filmmaker here at Revel News,

00:03:14.460 and my frequent travel partner,

00:03:16.360 Kian Simone,

00:03:17.160 to discuss the finishing touches

00:03:20.420 he's put on our brand new documentary

00:03:22.380 and the launch.

00:03:24.120 So we're taking it on the road

00:03:25.380 and we want everybody out there to join us.

00:03:28.300 Kian, thanks for coming on the show.

00:03:30.340 You recently wrapped up our documentary.

00:03:34.400 Tell us a little bit about,

00:03:35.560 I guess for people who are just finding out

00:03:37.860 about the documentary,

00:03:38.680 and I don't know how you could just be finding out

00:03:40.380 about the documentary,

00:03:41.440 but let's go back a step

00:03:42.640 and tell people about our brand new documentary.

00:03:46.460 Well, thank you for having me on, first off.

00:03:48.980 Second, yeah,

00:03:49.680 so we just wrapped up Church Under Fire,

00:03:51.860 Canada's War on Christianity, 0.60

00:03:53.740 which is about,

00:03:55.620 well, I'd like to say it's about

00:03:57.280 the persecution Christians faced

00:03:59.380 during COVID-19,

00:04:02.240 from congregations to the pastors

00:04:04.580 to just the church itself.

00:04:05.880 But really,

00:04:07.320 it's like a 10-year,

00:04:10.260 eight-year

00:04:10.920 comeback to

00:04:13.400 how it started

00:04:15.040 and how it evolved

00:04:16.640 and what it looked like

00:04:18.240 and what it looked like during COVID.

00:04:20.960 And yeah,

00:04:22.080 we really touch on

00:04:23.260 almost everything,

00:04:24.760 almost everything we can.

00:04:26.680 Yeah.

00:04:27.600 Everything we could fit into an hour and a half.

00:04:29.920 That was the thing,

00:04:31.140 is like,

00:04:31.420 how do you fit

00:04:32.400 a decade-long

00:04:34.140 creeping attack

00:04:36.620 on Christian churches?

00:04:39.980 How do you fit that into 90 minutes?

00:04:42.940 But I think we did a pretty good job.

00:04:45.720 And part of,

00:04:47.300 I think,

00:04:47.700 the documentary was

00:04:48.720 pointing out that

00:04:50.120 this didn't just happen

00:04:52.060 in a bubble

00:04:52.740 or in a vacuum.

00:04:54.240 That it started

00:04:55.180 sort of when Justin Trudeau took power.

00:04:57.360 And it was all these little

00:04:58.840 picky things

00:05:00.140 at,

00:05:01.340 you know,

00:05:02.220 fringing on people's

00:05:03.320 religious freedoms

00:05:04.100 to get to where we are

00:05:06.660 chaining up churches

00:05:08.040 and throwing pastors in jail.

00:05:09.540 It didn't just happen overnight.

00:05:11.180 It was a slow burn

00:05:13.000 that I think

00:05:14.180 a lot of Canadians

00:05:15.020 didn't pay attention to.

00:05:16.940 Yeah.

00:05:17.400 When I was

00:05:17.880 editing our intro

00:05:19.100 and we kind of touch on,

00:05:20.660 when you touch on exactly that,

00:05:22.580 I was looking for some China B-roll. 0.88

00:05:25.120 B-roll,

00:05:25.840 for what people don't know,

00:05:26.840 it's just kind of the footage

00:05:27.680 you put over top

00:05:28.460 of someone else talking.

00:05:29.280 And I saw these news clips

00:05:32.060 from like 20 years,

00:05:33.120 not even 20 years,

00:05:33.960 like 15 years ago,

00:05:35.180 10 years ago,

00:05:35.800 of police shutting down churches.

00:05:38.260 And you hear the Chinese translator

00:05:40.060 saying,

00:05:40.900 yeah,

00:05:41.760 church is not essential.

00:05:43.420 And your church is now closed.

00:05:45.260 Like you cannot go to church anymore

00:05:46.860 because

00:05:47.380 X,

00:05:48.540 Y,

00:05:48.700 and Z.

00:05:49.020 And it was like the exact same wording

00:05:51.040 that politicians in Canada used.

00:05:53.660 And that was like,

00:05:55.160 I mean,

00:05:55.440 I was already kind of,

00:05:56.540 what do the kids say now,

00:05:57.680 red-billed about the whole thing.

00:05:59.900 But just hearing that again,

00:06:01.420 while being at like the end

00:06:02.960 of the step of the documentary,

00:06:04.160 I was like,

00:06:04.600 oh,

00:06:04.740 wow,

00:06:04.980 this is like,

00:06:06.060 this is real.

00:06:08.040 Yeah.

00:06:08.440 And that's what it was like for me too,

00:06:10.240 because just before COVID lockdowns

00:06:13.440 hit the churches,

00:06:14.240 because COVID never actually hit the churches,

00:06:16.560 COVID lockdowns hit the churches.

00:06:17.900 Just before then,

00:06:19.440 in late 2019,

00:06:21.080 I had just come back from Northern Iraq.

00:06:25.000 And for me,

00:06:26.220 that sort of weaponized my heart

00:06:28.840 against persecution of,

00:06:31.980 not just Christians,

00:06:33.480 but the religious people of faith,

00:06:36.760 because I had seen the end stages of a genocide.

00:06:42.180 And again,

00:06:43.040 it didn't just get there.

00:06:44.060 It started with these little nitpicky rules

00:06:46.040 where you all,

00:06:48.660 after,

00:06:49.880 you know,

00:06:50.200 a decade or so,

00:06:51.440 you end up with ISIS using your church steeple 0.56

00:06:54.880 as a sniper's nest.

00:06:56.660 That doesn't just happen overnight.

00:07:00.020 But for me-

00:07:00.420 Or in Ottawa as a weed store.

00:07:02.660 Or as a weed store.

00:07:03.000 Which is what we saw.

00:07:04.000 Yeah,

00:07:04.320 we recently just go back from Ottawa

00:07:06.520 and we're like,

00:07:07.040 is that a church?

00:07:07.760 No,

00:07:07.880 that's a weed store.

00:07:10.660 But,

00:07:11.280 you know,

00:07:12.420 and for me too,

00:07:14.400 like the faith of the Christians

00:07:15.980 to not just survive the genocide in northern Iraq,

00:07:19.560 but insist on remaining,

00:07:21.480 to not buckle,

00:07:22.840 to know that,

00:07:23.860 you know,

00:07:24.200 there will be the next genocide

00:07:26.060 and the next genocide

00:07:27.000 and the next genocide,

00:07:28.000 because there always is there.

00:07:29.780 But they won't leave.

00:07:30.900 They must stay.

00:07:32.360 That sort of hardened my heart

00:07:35.420 and left me with a certain,

00:07:40.000 I don't want to say disgust,

00:07:41.620 but maybe that is the right word,

00:07:43.600 disdain for Christians here

00:07:45.700 who,

00:07:46.600 we've got a pretty good here.

00:07:47.880 And so many churches

00:07:51.240 were scared of Teresa Tam

00:07:52.840 or Dina Hinshaw

00:07:54.240 or Jason Kenney

00:07:55.420 or Bonnie Henry.

00:07:56.620 And I had just come freshly back

00:07:58.040 from people who had survived ISIS

00:07:59.680 and the Christians here

00:08:01.780 were scared of Dina Hinshaw.

00:08:04.420 And I would,

00:08:05.980 I tried not to have that bleed

00:08:08.660 into the documentary,

00:08:09.760 but it might have just a little bit.

00:08:12.340 Well,

00:08:12.500 I mean,

00:08:12.840 it has to,

00:08:14.360 right?

00:08:14.560 Like you said in the documentary

00:08:16.280 and like you just said before,

00:08:17.220 it is that slow burn.

00:08:18.900 It's that,

00:08:20.020 what's that other analogy?

00:08:21.040 It's the frog in the hot,

00:08:23.020 the hot water.

00:08:24.920 Yeah,

00:08:25.280 it really is.

00:08:26.640 And it's not a overblown statement

00:08:28.500 at all.

00:08:30.100 And like,

00:08:30.820 like I'm not even Christian

00:08:32.400 and I see it so full.

00:08:34.420 Like I see it so clearly.

00:08:36.440 It's,

00:08:37.140 I think other people will see it too

00:08:39.000 when they watch the documentary.

00:08:40.420 You know,

00:08:40.960 you just made a really good point

00:08:42.300 that you're not even Christian.

00:08:43.900 I'm not even the same denomination

00:08:45.760 as any of this,

00:08:47.760 these pastors.

00:08:48.940 I think that's important point to make

00:08:50.420 is that,

00:08:51.220 um,

00:08:51.920 for people who are not religious,

00:08:53.700 um,

00:08:54.440 there's something in this for you

00:08:55.920 because they always come

00:08:57.700 for the churches first.

00:08:58.680 They come for the people

00:08:59.580 who have a loyalty

00:09:01.340 beyond the state

00:09:03.260 and then they get rid

00:09:04.340 of those people.

00:09:05.440 But then they come for you too.

00:09:06.920 Eventually,

00:09:07.280 whatever it is that you are doing

00:09:08.920 that runs afoul of the state,

00:09:10.860 after all the conscientious objectors

00:09:13.000 are gone,

00:09:13.340 they're coming for you too.

00:09:15.300 Um,

00:09:15.520 and so while this is

00:09:17.420 a documentary

00:09:18.580 about people of faith

00:09:20.500 who stood up to the state

00:09:22.200 and paid some pretty severe

00:09:23.920 consequences for it,

00:09:25.040 and,

00:09:27.000 you know,

00:09:27.340 it is framed

00:09:28.400 by my Christian worldview.

00:09:30.020 This is a documentary

00:09:30.860 for anybody

00:09:31.960 who

00:09:33.080 wants to see

00:09:35.100 the history

00:09:36.000 of the tyranny

00:09:36.680 in Canada

00:09:37.200 over the last,

00:09:38.080 well,

00:09:38.400 10 years,

00:09:38.980 but specifically

00:09:39.520 three years

00:09:40.340 that the mainstream media

00:09:42.120 and the politicians

00:09:42.740 want us to forget.

00:09:44.440 That's,

00:09:44.720 and that's exactly

00:09:45.420 how I edited it.

00:09:46.940 Um,

00:09:47.460 it's not about

00:09:48.380 Christian pastors

00:09:49.340 who stood up.

00:09:50.020 It's about people

00:09:50.600 who stood up for you.

00:09:52.340 And you can watch it

00:09:53.980 as a Christian

00:09:54.460 and be horrified

00:09:55.540 by what happened

00:09:56.080 to their church

00:09:56.680 and,

00:09:57.020 or you can watch it

00:09:57.600 as someone like me

00:09:59.260 who could see that

00:09:59.940 and be like,

00:10:00.420 oh,

00:10:00.580 you know,

00:10:00.780 that's,

00:10:01.160 uh,

00:10:01.400 that's really bad,

00:10:02.460 but it's not

00:10:03.060 the worst thing ever.

00:10:03.900 And,

00:10:04.260 and,

00:10:04.760 but you can still see

00:10:05.640 how it's like awful.

00:10:07.540 And you see like

00:10:08.460 these people

00:10:08.960 are standing up

00:10:09.920 for people

00:10:10.340 who are atheists.

00:10:11.160 They're people,

00:10:11.680 they're standing up

00:10:12.340 for Muslims,

00:10:13.420 they're standing up

00:10:13.980 for the Jewish,

00:10:14.600 they're standing up

00:10:15.080 for everybody.

00:10:16.360 Um,

00:10:16.640 and that's kind of

00:10:17.240 what the thing

00:10:17.720 that I wanted to portray

00:10:18.680 of,

00:10:19.540 of,

00:10:20.260 you know,

00:10:20.800 how I edited

00:10:21.780 what they're saying

00:10:22.480 and how they say it.

00:10:23.560 And it's,

00:10:24.600 uh,

00:10:24.940 it works.

00:10:26.580 Yeah.

00:10:27.020 And one of the things

00:10:28.040 that I did

00:10:28.740 when I was asking

00:10:29.440 questions of the pastors

00:10:30.700 and thank you

00:10:31.280 for letting me do that

00:10:32.200 because this is your,

00:10:33.060 like,

00:10:33.480 this is your artistic

00:10:34.580 vision baby.

00:10:36.000 But one thing

00:10:37.000 I asked the pastors,

00:10:38.480 I tried to ask them

00:10:39.260 the same,

00:10:39.780 you know,

00:10:40.060 eight or ten questions

00:10:41.340 because I wanted

00:10:43.740 to point out

00:10:44.560 that they would

00:10:45.460 likely give

00:10:46.360 many different answers.

00:10:48.180 Ultimately,

00:10:48.800 they gave a lot

00:10:49.500 of the same answers.

00:10:51.060 Um,

00:10:51.480 but I wanted to point out

00:10:52.260 Which was also weird.

00:10:53.440 Like it was not

00:10:54.240 weird in a good way.

00:10:55.540 Yeah,

00:10:55.800 it was weird

00:10:56.240 in a good way.

00:10:57.020 But I wanted to point out

00:10:58.280 that they were all

00:10:59.360 different.

00:11:00.020 They were all

00:11:00.440 different denominations,

00:11:01.680 very different styles,

00:11:03.600 all of them.

00:11:04.900 Um,

00:11:05.200 different,

00:11:07.180 different,

00:11:07.860 you know,

00:11:08.260 belief systems sometimes.

00:11:10.560 Um,

00:11:11.780 but none of that

00:11:13.180 mattered when it

00:11:14.240 came to the state.

00:11:15.020 And that was a lot

00:11:15.680 of the criticisms

00:11:16.460 you saw of some

00:11:17.800 of the pastors.

00:11:18.380 They would say,

00:11:19.060 well,

00:11:19.360 Pastor Art,

00:11:19.960 he's too fiery

00:11:21.460 and maybe

00:11:22.720 Pastor Hildebrandt,

00:11:24.360 he's just a little

00:11:25.520 different.

00:11:26.100 He's different to look at.

00:11:27.260 He talks a little

00:11:28.000 different.

00:11:28.780 Those people might

00:11:29.600 be a little bit weird,

00:11:30.680 you know,

00:11:31.260 on the outside looking in.

00:11:32.280 I don't think that

00:11:33.100 I think they're the nicest

00:11:34.140 people you'll ever meet.

00:11:35.580 But those are the

00:11:36.520 criticisms or,

00:11:37.620 you know,

00:11:37.820 maybe,

00:11:38.420 you know,

00:11:39.120 Pastor Phil,

00:11:40.420 uh,

00:11:40.780 Hutchins,

00:11:41.780 you know,

00:11:42.700 he's,

00:11:44.000 you know,

00:11:44.300 he's,

00:11:44.580 he's just strange.

00:11:46.140 Um,

00:11:47.720 it didn't matter

00:11:48.440 because they were all

00:11:49.220 really different,

00:11:50.060 you know,

00:11:50.300 and we saw that here

00:11:51.160 in Alberta with,

00:11:51.960 uh,

00:11:52.480 Pastor James Coates

00:11:53.340 and Tim Stevens,

00:11:54.560 like the nicest,

00:11:55.940 calmest,

00:11:56.460 kindest,

00:11:57.160 bookish guys

00:11:58.240 you'll ever meet.

00:11:59.260 They were being locked

00:12:00.640 up the same way

00:12:01.380 the firebrand pastors

00:12:02.700 were.

00:12:03.640 And,

00:12:03.840 um,

00:12:04.240 I really wanted to

00:12:05.380 frame my questions

00:12:07.240 to point that out.

00:12:08.800 And I think it comes

00:12:09.420 across in your editing,

00:12:10.340 uh,

00:12:10.940 in talking to the men,

00:12:11.960 different demeanors,

00:12:13.200 different styles,

00:12:14.100 but they gave a lot

00:12:15.840 of the same answers

00:12:16.920 when it came down

00:12:17.780 to being,

00:12:18.840 um,

00:12:20.780 obedient to God

00:12:21.860 above the state.

00:12:22.700 That was really the one

00:12:23.500 theme that went

00:12:24.140 through everything.

00:12:25.500 It's,

00:12:26.180 it was interesting

00:12:26.980 to go back

00:12:27.760 and look at,

00:12:28.340 like,

00:12:28.440 someone like

00:12:29.120 Pastor Art Pawlowski,

00:12:30.760 but the way that

00:12:31.320 it kind of,

00:12:31.860 it evolved for him

00:12:33.060 was,

00:12:33.800 it didn't start off

00:12:34.720 with,

00:12:34.880 like,

00:12:35.520 uh,

00:12:35.800 ripping the mask up.

00:12:36.800 It didn't start

00:12:37.460 with,

00:12:37.760 um,

00:12:38.560 just like the,

00:12:39.360 the metaphorical

00:12:40.660 middle finger

00:12:41.120 to the government.

00:12:41.720 It was like,

00:12:42.360 no,

00:12:42.560 I'm just trying

00:12:42.940 to feed the homeless.

00:12:44.580 That's literally

00:12:45.200 all I'm trying to do.

00:12:46.760 Um,

00:12:47.200 and then it just

00:12:47.820 evolved into them

00:12:48.580 and kept pushing

00:12:49.140 on that.

00:12:49.760 And then you go

00:12:50.380 over to Pastor Tobias

00:12:51.520 who kept his church

00:12:53.420 home for,

00:12:54.240 I think it was

00:12:54.720 like a month.

00:12:55.720 And then,

00:12:56.740 like,

00:12:57.000 they were just like,

00:12:57.540 what,

00:12:57.680 like,

00:12:58.220 and then they

00:12:58.620 didn't,

00:12:59.040 obviously didn't

00:12:59.820 see the people

00:13:00.840 dropping dead

00:13:01.360 or whatever 0.96

00:13:01.800 from COVID.

00:13:02.840 So they're like,

00:13:03.380 okay,

00:13:03.540 let's like go back

00:13:04.620 into church slowly.

00:13:06.360 Like,

00:13:06.760 we need to gather.

00:13:07.640 People aren't 0.94

00:13:08.840 gathering enough.

00:13:09.780 We need to come

00:13:10.460 together and this

00:13:11.300 is the time

00:13:11.720 that we need

00:13:12.020 to be together.

00:13:12.600 And then his dad

00:13:14.020 passed away.

00:13:14.880 So they had a funeral

00:13:15.780 for his father.

00:13:17.220 And that was

00:13:17.820 when the RCMP

00:13:18.460 first showed up.

00:13:19.620 And like,

00:13:20.080 you can kind of

00:13:20.620 see how that would,

00:13:22.060 I don't want to say

00:13:22.720 radicalize somebody,

00:13:23.860 but like,

00:13:24.660 yeah,

00:13:25.800 radicalize somebody

00:13:26.860 into,

00:13:27.300 into like,

00:13:28.120 into a good,

00:13:29.060 um,

00:13:30.280 weight,

00:13:30.620 into a good

00:13:31.260 frame of mind

00:13:32.120 to actually stand

00:13:33.080 up to something

00:13:33.680 that is wrong.

00:13:34.760 And you can see

00:13:35.540 that none of them

00:13:36.220 did anything terrible.

00:13:37.980 All they did

00:13:38.420 was exactly what

00:13:39.480 their faith calls

00:13:40.440 them to do,

00:13:41.500 which is just

00:13:42.740 church.

00:13:44.540 Yeah.

00:13:44.840 I mean,

00:13:45.220 to use a,

00:13:46.300 some biblical framing,

00:13:47.600 the scales fell

00:13:48.440 away from his eyes

00:13:49.620 when the RCMP

00:13:51.220 showed up at his

00:13:52.120 dad's funeral

00:13:52.820 outdoors.

00:13:54.180 Um,

00:13:54.780 and I would lose

00:13:55.640 my mind.

00:13:56.580 I would too.

00:13:58.040 I would too.

00:13:59.480 Um,

00:13:59.900 there were points

00:14:00.480 at which,

00:14:00.940 uh,

00:14:01.240 during my mother's

00:14:02.020 funeral,

00:14:02.280 I thought I could

00:14:03.060 just do something

00:14:03.680 right now in the

00:14:04.360 RCMP could come.

00:14:05.720 I guess like I had,

00:14:06.700 I had those

00:14:07.500 intrusive thoughts.

00:14:08.780 Um,

00:14:09.500 but,

00:14:10.880 um,

00:14:11.120 you know,

00:14:11.580 you see this also

00:14:12.220 with Pastor Tracy

00:14:13.100 and Rodney,

00:14:14.000 where they did

00:14:14.520 their best

00:14:15.200 to follow the rules

00:14:17.140 until such time

00:14:18.160 as the rules

00:14:18.820 made absolutely

00:14:20.260 no sense.

00:14:21.260 And they did

00:14:22.180 their best

00:14:22.740 to go along

00:14:23.880 with the government

00:14:24.680 while still keeping

00:14:26.220 up those guardrails.

00:14:27.260 Like,

00:14:27.920 yes,

00:14:28.140 you can definitely

00:14:28.760 come and inspect

00:14:29.580 our church,

00:14:30.140 just not while

00:14:31.160 Pastor Rodney

00:14:32.320 is on the pulpit

00:14:33.280 and people are

00:14:34.080 praying and you

00:14:34.760 can't run around

00:14:35.500 like maniacs

00:14:36.460 in the room 0.93

00:14:36.960 where the little

00:14:37.420 children are.

00:14:38.300 They were doing

00:14:39.100 their best

00:14:39.860 to comply

00:14:40.340 with the government.

00:14:41.460 The government

00:14:42.140 was not doing

00:14:43.140 the best

00:14:43.980 that the government

00:14:44.740 could do

00:14:45.240 to respect

00:14:45.920 their religious

00:14:46.380 freedoms.

00:14:47.220 I can,

00:14:47.980 uh,

00:14:48.280 share something

00:14:48.860 on that actually

00:14:49.460 too.

00:14:49.920 I was,

00:14:50.380 uh,

00:14:51.020 I was in

00:14:51.760 back and forth

00:14:52.380 with Tracy

00:14:52.960 about,

00:14:53.500 um,

00:14:53.940 just sending me

00:14:54.660 videos of what

00:14:55.340 was happening

00:14:55.940 like at the time

00:14:56.940 just so I can

00:14:58.020 put it over top

00:14:58.900 of when you guys

00:14:59.660 are talking

00:15:00.120 and cut up the

00:15:00.820 clips and stuff

00:15:01.320 like that.

00:15:02.640 And I had this

00:15:03.460 really long,

00:15:04.200 like,

00:15:05.380 I don't know,

00:15:05.920 it was like an

00:15:06.340 eight minute

00:15:06.900 weirdly chopped

00:15:08.260 up clip

00:15:09.140 and it was like

00:15:10.280 from a cell phone

00:15:10.940 like vertical

00:15:11.460 and I was like,

00:15:12.140 oh,

00:15:12.360 Tracy,

00:15:12.820 come on.

00:15:13.680 So,

00:15:13.920 I was like going

00:15:14.360 through it

00:15:14.880 and then,

00:15:15.740 um,

00:15:16.180 I realized that

00:15:16.900 it wasn't

00:15:17.860 Tracy's cell phone

00:15:19.480 footage and I was

00:15:20.400 like,

00:15:20.580 who shot this?

00:15:21.500 And I was like,

00:15:21.920 it's not a

00:15:22.480 congregation,

00:15:22.980 it's not like

00:15:24.220 a protester or

00:15:25.100 it's,

00:15:26.060 this is the health

00:15:27.460 inspector's phone

00:15:28.380 footage.

00:15:28.840 one in my

00:15:30.480 head,

00:15:30.640 I was like, 0.96

00:15:30.920 how the hell

00:15:31.240 do I have

00:15:31.620 that?

00:15:31.860 But two,

00:15:33.100 like,

00:15:33.300 how does,

00:15:33.680 how the heck

00:15:34.160 did she have

00:15:34.740 that?

00:15:35.500 Um,

00:15:35.880 two,

00:15:36.240 I was watching

00:15:36.820 through it

00:15:37.340 and it is

00:15:38.400 literally the

00:15:39.380 footage from

00:15:39.920 the health

00:15:40.220 inspector knocking

00:15:41.180 on the church

00:15:41.700 like you can

00:15:42.080 see the phone

00:15:42.680 in the hand

00:15:43.200 and then you

00:15:44.220 see Tracy

00:15:44.660 come out

00:15:45.180 and she's

00:15:45.580 like holding

00:15:46.060 it up as

00:15:46.700 if it's like

00:15:47.160 some,

00:15:47.760 you know,

00:15:48.000 I mean,

00:15:48.260 I guess recording

00:15:49.320 does protect

00:15:49.900 you so you

00:15:50.920 can see why

00:15:51.740 she did that. 0.99

00:15:53.340 And then,

00:15:53.700 um,

00:15:55.120 Tracy's like,

00:15:55.640 no,

00:15:55.780 you can't come

00:15:56.260 in right now.

00:15:56.860 Um,

00:15:57.740 like she was

00:15:58.280 in,

00:15:58.520 uh,

00:15:58.740 the health

00:15:59.500 inspector was

00:15:59.920 like 40

00:16:00.360 minutes early

00:16:00.960 when they

00:16:01.880 started at

00:16:02.200 nine,

00:16:02.420 she came

00:16:02.660 at 820

00:16:03.180 and then Tracy's

00:16:04.460 like,

00:16:04.640 no,

00:16:04.800 we actually

00:16:05.100 do start

00:16:05.680 at eight.

00:16:06.180 Like when

00:16:06.600 people start

00:16:07.080 to show up

00:16:07.580 is when we

00:16:08.000 start,

00:16:08.360 um,

00:16:09.140 you know,

00:16:09.720 talking and

00:16:10.480 praying and

00:16:11.280 stuff like

00:16:11.560 that.

00:16:12.340 And so the

00:16:12.980 health inspector

00:16:13.460 is like,

00:16:14.120 okay,

00:16:14.440 next week

00:16:14.900 I'll come

00:16:15.200 at 7am

00:16:15.840 and Tracy

00:16:16.860 just laughs

00:16:17.500 and she's

00:16:18.700 like,

00:16:19.200 you don't

00:16:20.000 know,

00:16:21.060 you don't

00:16:21.740 have to

00:16:22.100 come.

00:16:23.400 And,

00:16:23.540 uh,

00:16:24.140 and then she's

00:16:24.680 like,

00:16:24.840 well,

00:16:24.960 I'll just

00:16:25.240 stand in

00:16:25.640 the back

00:16:26.140 and I'll

00:16:26.860 just take

00:16:27.220 my pictures

00:16:27.680 and I'll

00:16:28.080 do my

00:16:28.700 things.

00:16:29.300 And she's

00:16:29.580 like,

00:16:29.740 no,

00:16:29.960 you won't.

00:16:31.120 Like,

00:16:31.360 you're not

00:16:31.880 going to

00:16:32.760 do that.

00:16:33.500 And then

00:16:33.880 the health

00:16:34.660 inspector is

00:16:35.200 like,

00:16:36.040 so someone

00:16:36.500 showed up

00:16:36.900 late in

00:16:37.300 the video.

00:16:38.420 They're

00:16:38.820 walking in

00:16:39.340 without a

00:16:39.740 mask.

00:16:40.280 And she

00:16:40.800 like calls

00:16:41.200 that out.

00:16:41.660 She's like,

00:16:42.140 aren't they

00:16:42.700 interrupting

00:16:43.440 your service

00:16:43.960 because they're

00:16:44.300 showing up

00:16:44.740 late?

00:16:45.540 And Tracy's

00:16:45.960 like,

00:16:46.320 no,

00:16:46.720 they're part

00:16:47.860 of the

00:16:48.080 church.

00:16:48.380 They can

00:16:48.600 come in

00:16:48.940 whatever time

00:16:49.540 they want.

00:16:50.720 And then the

00:16:51.020 health inspector,

00:16:54.960 doesn't happen

00:16:55.340 at my

00:16:55.640 church.

00:16:55.920 My

00:16:56.060 church

00:16:56.300 wouldn't

00:16:56.480 have a

00:16:56.720 problem

00:16:56.920 with this

00:16:57.340 and then

00:16:57.700 walks away.

00:16:58.560 And then

00:16:58.840 the video

00:16:59.240 ends.

00:17:00.880 It was

00:17:01.500 literally,

00:17:02.260 as a

00:17:02.680 filmmaker

00:17:02.980 and as

00:17:03.560 an editor,

00:17:04.120 it is

00:17:04.760 gold

00:17:05.660 footage.

00:17:07.040 Like,

00:17:07.180 it's likely

00:17:07.780 my favorite

00:17:08.520 part of the

00:17:08.920 documentary.

00:17:09.820 And it's

00:17:10.140 just such a

00:17:10.520 small part

00:17:11.080 of having

00:17:12.260 that footage

00:17:12.800 from the

00:17:13.140 health

00:17:13.300 inspector.

00:17:14.340 I don't

00:17:14.620 know.

00:17:14.900 It's just

00:17:15.220 so cool.

00:17:16.660 Yeah.

00:17:17.020 The health

00:17:17.700 inspector,

00:17:18.360 I was in

00:17:18.840 court and

00:17:19.640 she testified

00:17:20.320 something very

00:17:21.800 similar.

00:17:22.520 She said,

00:17:23.000 well,

00:17:23.160 my church

00:17:23.800 complied.

00:17:24.400 Great.

00:17:25.660 That's why

00:17:26.300 you're that

00:17:26.980 denomination.

00:17:28.140 And that's

00:17:28.400 why Tracy

00:17:28.860 is her

00:17:29.340 denomination.

00:17:30.120 That's the

00:17:30.480 beauty of

00:17:30.980 Christianity.

00:17:31.960 If this

00:17:32.380 one doesn't

00:17:32.780 fit you,

00:17:33.220 you can

00:17:33.500 go to

00:17:33.860 the next

00:17:34.560 one.

00:17:35.420 And we

00:17:35.680 don't all

00:17:36.200 have to

00:17:36.560 believe the

00:17:37.060 same as

00:17:37.920 the health

00:17:38.260 inspector who

00:17:39.220 fancies herself

00:17:39.960 to be some

00:17:40.380 sort of

00:17:40.700 theologian,

00:17:41.600 I suppose.

00:17:43.760 And it was

00:17:44.740 funny to see

00:17:45.500 that sort of

00:17:46.280 attitude brought

00:17:47.200 into court.

00:17:47.900 It was

00:17:48.100 something that

00:17:48.560 you saw

00:17:48.860 happening

00:17:49.280 online.

00:17:49.880 People

00:17:50.080 saying,

00:17:50.640 well,

00:17:50.800 why can't

00:17:51.440 they just

00:17:51.920 comply?

00:17:53.340 You know who

00:17:53.660 I bet she's

00:17:54.060 related to?

00:17:55.240 I think she's

00:17:56.080 related to the

00:17:56.660 cop that

00:17:57.120 arrested Tim

00:17:57.700 Stevens outside

00:17:58.400 his house

00:17:58.840 where he's

00:17:59.200 like,

00:17:59.900 give you

00:18:00.260 Bible quotes

00:18:00.860 to him,

00:18:01.460 render unto

00:18:02.740 what is

00:18:03.060 Caesar's,

00:18:03.440 what is

00:18:03.640 Caesar's.

00:18:04.580 And Tim's

00:18:05.240 like,

00:18:05.580 what the heck 0.92

00:18:06.020 are you talking 0.96

00:18:06.480 about?

00:18:06.900 Yeah,

00:18:07.940 it's funny how

00:18:09.400 he didn't

00:18:10.060 quote the

00:18:10.800 second part

00:18:11.600 of that

00:18:11.960 quote.

00:18:12.480 And to

00:18:13.060 God,

00:18:13.420 what is

00:18:13.640 God's.

00:18:14.160 Exactly.

00:18:14.820 So it's

00:18:15.080 actually

00:18:15.360 restraining

00:18:15.940 order against

00:18:16.540 Caesar.

00:18:17.120 Like,

00:18:17.380 that's

00:18:17.720 yours.

00:18:18.200 The church

00:18:18.620 is not

00:18:19.220 yours.

00:18:21.060 But people

00:18:21.520 who are

00:18:21.880 unfamiliar

00:18:22.340 with the

00:18:22.920 Bible will 0.96

00:18:23.900 use it to

00:18:24.340 their own

00:18:24.640 devices,

00:18:25.080 as we saw

00:18:25.680 over and

00:18:26.180 over and

00:18:26.580 over again

00:18:27.080 during

00:18:27.380 COVID.

00:18:28.720 But the

00:18:29.140 reason I

00:18:29.420 wanted to

00:18:29.700 have you

00:18:30.000 on the

00:18:30.540 show,

00:18:30.920 now that

00:18:31.180 we've

00:18:31.380 had our

00:18:31.780 little

00:18:32.020 chat,

00:18:32.240 is that

00:18:33.580 the

00:18:33.960 documentary

00:18:34.360 is

00:18:34.620 completely

00:18:35.260 finished.

00:18:36.020 It's

00:18:36.420 gorgeous.

00:18:37.300 I think

00:18:37.540 it's one

00:18:37.800 of the

00:18:37.960 greatest

00:18:38.160 things we've

00:18:38.640 ever done.

00:18:39.060 I'm so

00:18:39.300 proud of

00:18:39.760 it.

00:18:40.360 And not

00:18:40.920 just because

00:18:41.340 I'm very

00:18:41.680 passionate on

00:18:42.280 this issue,

00:18:42.820 but I

00:18:43.100 think it

00:18:43.500 is cinematic

00:18:44.320 and beautiful

00:18:45.300 and you

00:18:47.520 took such

00:18:47.980 care and

00:18:49.160 skill in

00:18:49.860 telling the

00:18:50.380 stories of

00:18:50.980 the pastors.

00:18:51.600 And I

00:18:51.740 think it

00:18:51.940 is important

00:18:52.860 work because

00:18:54.040 the other

00:18:55.860 side of

00:18:56.300 this is

00:18:57.140 all of a

00:18:57.620 sudden saying

00:18:58.080 we want

00:18:58.500 an amnesty

00:18:59.240 for what

00:19:00.220 we've done.

00:19:01.460 Maybe you

00:19:02.160 do.

00:19:02.500 Maybe you

00:19:02.900 want that.

00:19:03.500 Maybe you

00:19:03.900 might even

00:19:04.420 get that.

00:19:04.920 Maybe I

00:19:05.320 might even

00:19:05.720 be a good

00:19:06.160 Christian and

00:19:06.680 forget it. 0.96

00:19:07.700 But you

00:19:08.020 also need to

00:19:08.800 live with

00:19:09.360 what you've

00:19:09.760 done.

00:19:10.000 You need to

00:19:10.400 see what

00:19:11.660 you've done

00:19:12.320 to these

00:19:12.960 people before

00:19:13.760 I can

00:19:14.300 forgive you

00:19:14.900 for it.

00:19:16.900 And I

00:19:17.300 think that

00:19:17.660 is why

00:19:18.440 this documentary

00:19:20.140 is so

00:19:20.720 important.

00:19:22.040 But it's

00:19:22.860 completely done

00:19:23.460 and we're

00:19:23.800 taking it

00:19:24.180 on a tour,

00:19:25.260 which is

00:19:25.620 something we've

00:19:26.460 never done

00:19:26.780 before.

00:19:27.140 I'm very

00:19:27.400 excited.

00:19:29.700 Yeah,

00:19:30.280 I just want

00:19:30.960 to back up

00:19:31.440 to that point

00:19:31.920 that you

00:19:32.160 made about

00:19:32.600 they have

00:19:33.920 to live

00:19:34.180 with this.

00:19:34.620 It's part

00:19:35.120 of the

00:19:35.320 historical

00:19:35.680 record now.

00:19:37.600 And I

00:19:37.860 did two

00:19:38.220 things with

00:19:39.040 the documentary

00:19:39.880 to kind

00:19:40.440 of physical

00:19:43.260 that.

00:19:43.860 I'm running

00:19:44.300 out of words

00:19:44.740 here.

00:19:45.480 One of them,

00:19:46.140 I took out

00:19:46.480 everything that

00:19:46.980 is timely.

00:19:47.760 So anything

00:19:48.120 that someone

00:19:48.600 who has

00:19:49.180 kept up

00:19:49.960 with this,

00:19:50.760 kept up

00:19:52.260 with the

00:19:52.460 phenomena

00:19:52.760 of the

00:19:53.380 whole thing

00:19:54.120 that happened,

00:19:54.940 I cut out

00:19:55.400 a lot of

00:19:55.740 the stuff

00:19:56.080 that is

00:19:57.320 kind of

00:19:57.620 like insights,

00:19:58.740 like only

00:19:59.160 that those

00:19:59.600 people would

00:20:00.020 know so

00:20:00.860 that now

00:20:01.280 when my

00:20:02.520 kid watches

00:20:03.160 this,

00:20:03.660 he will be

00:20:04.160 able to

00:20:04.500 understand

00:20:05.180 everything that

00:20:05.980 happened.

00:20:07.020 There's nothing

00:20:07.540 that you don't

00:20:09.060 need to Google

00:20:09.500 anything after.

00:20:10.780 It's very to

00:20:11.540 the point and

00:20:12.260 the story is

00:20:14.700 like it's

00:20:15.460 full.

00:20:16.440 And secondly,

00:20:17.120 the way that I

00:20:17.780 colored it,

00:20:19.560 which I love to

00:20:20.700 tell everybody

00:20:21.180 now,

00:20:21.820 is that I did

00:20:23.540 it by accident

00:20:24.300 when I was

00:20:24.840 trying to,

00:20:25.220 I made

00:20:25.620 this beautiful

00:20:26.160 cinematic,

00:20:26.920 like perfect

00:20:27.960 shadow,

00:20:28.540 perfect dark,

00:20:29.260 perfect color,

00:20:30.260 everything was

00:20:30.720 good.

00:20:31.180 And then my

00:20:31.600 fingers slipped

00:20:32.140 and I put

00:20:32.560 this like weird

00:20:33.180 glow onto it,

00:20:34.320 which I've

00:20:35.060 never used

00:20:35.580 before.

00:20:36.160 And then the

00:20:37.220 light,

00:20:38.020 like the

00:20:38.540 software took

00:20:39.080 the light

00:20:39.480 in Pastor

00:20:39.880 Archer's

00:20:40.240 room and

00:20:41.280 like put

00:20:41.720 light rays

00:20:42.220 on them.

00:20:42.860 I was like,

00:20:43.320 whoa,

00:20:44.300 that's like,

00:20:45.180 it just felt

00:20:45.960 like I added

00:20:46.720 some like God

00:20:48.080 to it.

00:20:49.800 And then

00:20:49.980 also put this

00:20:51.280 like halation

00:20:52.520 around him

00:20:53.200 where it felt

00:20:54.560 like it was

00:20:54.940 a dream.

00:20:56.120 But because

00:20:56.660 I already

00:20:56.980 had it all

00:20:57.380 dark,

00:20:58.060 it felt

00:20:58.600 like a bad

00:20:59.100 dream.

00:20:59.620 It was like

00:21:00.020 a nightmare.

00:21:01.640 And I just

00:21:02.560 started applying

00:21:03.080 that to you.

00:21:03.760 I applied that

00:21:04.240 to Henry Hildebrandt

00:21:05.100 and I just

00:21:05.440 looked at it.

00:21:05.960 I was like,

00:21:06.320 the whole

00:21:06.620 documentary now,

00:21:08.000 it kind of

00:21:08.820 looks like a

00:21:09.840 dream.

00:21:10.820 And that's

00:21:11.600 kind of what

00:21:12.060 I want.

00:21:13.480 In 10 years,

00:21:15.100 5 years,

00:21:15.600 when someone

00:21:15.960 watches this,

00:21:16.740 they'll be able

00:21:17.440 to look at it

00:21:18.020 and just feel

00:21:18.800 that how COVID

00:21:19.740 was a bad

00:21:20.280 dream because

00:21:20.800 no matter where

00:21:21.720 you stood on

00:21:22.180 the issue,

00:21:22.720 it was a bad

00:21:23.540 dream for

00:21:23.860 everybody.

00:21:24.560 And it

00:21:25.700 will be.

00:21:26.420 So yeah.

00:21:27.180 And we're

00:21:27.660 taking it on

00:21:28.060 tour.

00:21:28.460 Sorry to

00:21:28.780 backtrack there.

00:21:30.800 We are going

00:21:31.740 to Calgary

00:21:32.520 twice,

00:21:33.740 Toronto,

00:21:34.360 Ottawa,

00:21:34.980 Regina,

00:21:35.980 Steinbeck,

00:21:36.440 Manitoba,

00:21:38.120 St. John,

00:21:39.760 Edmonton,

00:21:42.080 Edmonton,

00:21:42.860 yeah.

00:21:43.380 And BC

00:21:44.120 in August.

00:21:45.740 Yes.

00:21:45.940 We haven't

00:21:46.340 booked that one

00:21:46.840 yet, but we

00:21:47.360 can share that.

00:21:48.520 Yes.

00:21:49.020 So BC

00:21:49.660 also in August.

00:21:50.740 it's a grueling

00:21:53.080 travel schedule

00:21:54.260 as it tends

00:21:54.940 to be for

00:21:56.320 you and I,

00:21:56.820 but we want

00:21:57.200 to make sure

00:21:57.560 that we bring

00:21:58.120 the documentary

00:21:59.640 as close to

00:22:01.360 the congregations

00:22:02.640 who participated

00:22:03.660 in the documentary

00:22:04.760 because their

00:22:05.880 communities were

00:22:06.520 affected by this

00:22:07.520 and we want

00:22:09.000 to make sure

00:22:09.460 that we're

00:22:11.220 really honoring

00:22:11.880 their contributions

00:22:13.520 not just to

00:22:14.500 our documentary,

00:22:15.300 but to the

00:22:16.260 liberty and

00:22:17.160 freedom of all

00:22:17.800 Canadians.

00:22:18.180 So that's

00:22:20.220 why we're

00:22:20.900 doing it

00:22:21.260 and we've

00:22:21.580 got somebody

00:22:22.460 very interested

00:22:23.080 in helping

00:22:23.520 us show it

00:22:24.420 in BC.

00:22:27.540 We've also

00:22:28.000 had some

00:22:28.320 trouble finding

00:22:30.100 venues because

00:22:31.720 of the subject

00:22:32.260 matters.

00:22:33.020 So I find

00:22:34.100 this fascinating

00:22:35.800 because these

00:22:36.800 are places

00:22:37.880 that will show

00:22:38.640 like gore,

00:22:40.420 depravity,

00:22:41.760 hedonism.

00:22:43.340 You just

00:22:43.980 can't show

00:22:44.360 what the

00:22:44.580 government did

00:22:45.080 to churches.

00:22:46.520 Yeah,

00:22:47.120 they show

00:22:47.860 the movies

00:22:49.960 about that

00:22:51.380 like glorify,

00:22:52.380 not glorify,

00:22:53.080 but talk

00:22:53.780 about slavery

00:22:54.380 and it's

00:22:54.740 just like

00:22:55.400 N-words dropping

00:22:56.260 here and there

00:22:56.800 in a cineplex

00:22:57.520 and I'm like,

00:22:59.180 I know you

00:23:01.840 don't call the

00:23:02.460 director and say

00:23:03.100 like you can't

00:23:03.680 say that in a

00:23:04.260 movie,

00:23:05.140 which like if

00:23:06.300 the movie's

00:23:06.760 about that,

00:23:07.220 like whatever,

00:23:07.680 say it,

00:23:08.040 but like don't

00:23:09.360 come to us

00:23:09.940 and say you

00:23:10.560 know you can't

00:23:11.020 show that here

00:23:11.760 because of its

00:23:12.540 content.

00:23:14.000 Like this

00:23:14.740 doesn't make

00:23:15.840 any sense.

00:23:16.500 but I will

00:23:17.820 say that

00:23:18.940 and I'll

00:23:20.000 totally call

00:23:20.480 them out,

00:23:20.740 I have no

00:23:21.020 problem doing

00:23:21.560 it,

00:23:22.300 Cineplex and

00:23:22.840 Landmark Cinemas

00:23:23.660 both agreed

00:23:25.100 to take on

00:23:26.040 our documentary

00:23:26.740 Cineplex BC

00:23:28.220 and Landmark

00:23:30.160 in all of

00:23:30.680 Ontario and

00:23:32.320 I was like,

00:23:32.680 oh, this is

00:23:33.100 the coolest

00:23:33.460 thing ever,

00:23:34.100 like I'll

00:23:35.060 take that and

00:23:36.200 then they

00:23:36.740 both sent an

00:23:37.460 email and

00:23:38.380 they both

00:23:38.980 said we'll

00:23:39.540 give you the

00:23:39.960 10 a.m.

00:23:40.520 show.

00:23:41.620 I'm like,

00:23:42.440 who goes to

00:23:43.280 the movie at

00:23:43.740 10, not even

00:23:44.380 a child on

00:23:46.160 who's staying

00:23:46.860 home from

00:23:47.260 sick goes to

00:23:47.940 see Super

00:23:48.360 Mario Bro at

00:23:49.020 10 a.m.

00:23:49.920 Nobody goes to

00:23:50.880 a movie then

00:23:51.440 and that was

00:23:52.480 a kind of way

00:23:53.040 of saying like,

00:23:53.680 yeah, we'll

00:23:54.000 respect free

00:23:54.680 speech but

00:23:55.280 we'll limit

00:23:56.440 you to the

00:23:57.480 absolute max.

00:23:59.480 So I'll

00:24:00.220 frame those

00:24:00.660 emails but I

00:24:01.460 won't be

00:24:01.740 showing a

00:24:02.480 movie there.

00:24:04.120 Just wow.

00:24:05.400 That's like

00:24:06.080 the old

00:24:08.200 Twitter, like

00:24:08.800 when they would

00:24:09.180 let you publish

00:24:09.840 things on

00:24:10.280 Twitter but no

00:24:11.300 one could find

00:24:11.860 you.

00:24:13.060 Completely

00:24:13.540 shadow banned

00:24:14.180 you have

00:24:15.220 free speech

00:24:15.800 I guess but

00:24:16.900 I'm yelling

00:24:17.400 into a

00:24:17.860 void.

00:24:19.740 Sort of

00:24:20.580 same thing

00:24:21.180 and we

00:24:22.260 should tell

00:24:22.640 everybody you

00:24:23.140 can get

00:24:24.520 tickets and

00:24:25.640 showtime details

00:24:26.600 and see the

00:24:27.620 incredible trailer

00:24:28.380 at save the

00:24:29.500 christians.com

00:24:30.900 it's all

00:24:31.260 available there

00:24:31.900 and there's

00:24:33.200 also we have

00:24:34.120 some licensing

00:24:34.680 opportunities that

00:24:35.560 we're considering

00:24:36.400 there also.

00:24:37.480 So if you

00:24:37.980 miss our

00:24:38.860 in-person

00:24:39.320 showings there

00:24:39.900 are other

00:24:40.200 ways that you

00:24:40.800 could see it

00:24:42.340 bring it to

00:24:43.160 your own

00:24:43.520 congregation

00:24:43.960 or your

00:24:44.620 own you

00:24:45.160 know civil

00:24:45.860 liberties

00:24:46.180 group

00:24:46.500 whatever

00:24:46.820 we're

00:24:47.160 working on

00:24:47.880 that we're

00:24:48.780 tweaking the

00:24:49.380 fine details

00:24:49.920 but we want

00:24:50.380 to make sure

00:24:50.720 that this

00:24:51.080 gets in front

00:24:51.640 of as many

00:24:52.160 eyeballs as

00:24:52.840 possible because

00:24:53.440 as you say

00:24:53.940 it's part of

00:24:54.540 the historical

00:24:55.400 record.

00:24:58.500 Yeah?

00:24:59.460 Yeah.

00:25:00.200 You just

00:25:00.460 wrapped it all

00:25:01.000 up right there.

00:25:02.500 And I

00:25:03.080 okay go ahead.

00:25:04.860 No I

00:25:05.520 know it's all

00:25:06.320 you.

00:25:06.920 I was just

00:25:07.500 gonna say and

00:25:08.120 we should let

00:25:08.660 everybody know

00:25:09.240 that this is

00:25:10.220 not our last

00:25:10.920 documentary.

00:25:11.440 It might be

00:25:12.920 our best

00:25:13.380 one to

00:25:13.920 date I

00:25:14.640 think but

00:25:15.380 it's not

00:25:15.760 our last

00:25:16.900 documentary we've

00:25:17.540 already started

00:25:18.160 work on the

00:25:19.220 next one.

00:25:19.720 I think we're

00:25:20.100 not quite ready

00:25:21.440 yet to tell

00:25:23.780 everybody what

00:25:24.640 it is but I

00:25:25.960 just want to let

00:25:26.920 everybody know that

00:25:27.500 we're already

00:25:27.960 working hard behind

00:25:29.000 the scenes again

00:25:29.780 on that grueling

00:25:31.180 travel schedule.

00:25:32.720 And that's why

00:25:33.380 it's a grueling

00:25:34.100 traveling schedule

00:25:34.880 because we got to

00:25:35.500 wrap up this

00:25:36.100 documentary in all

00:25:36.840 of July so we

00:25:37.560 can work on the

00:25:38.060 next one all of

00:25:38.740 August.

00:25:39.440 Yeah so the

00:25:39.920 next one starts

00:25:40.600 all of August so

00:25:42.360 we'll be traveling

00:25:43.000 around working on

00:25:44.760 the next documentary

00:25:45.480 and hopefully so

00:25:46.560 we'll launch that

00:25:47.400 one in the fall so

00:25:48.500 everybody at home

00:25:49.720 stay tuned we'll

00:25:50.540 have details and I

00:25:51.460 think we're going to

00:25:51.840 do it much the same

00:25:52.580 way where we'll

00:25:53.340 give out perks for

00:25:54.720 people who want to

00:25:55.380 pitch in so that

00:25:56.740 people can get sort

00:25:57.600 of invested in the

00:25:58.620 work that we are

00:25:59.500 doing because it

00:26:00.500 really is telling

00:26:02.040 the stories of all

00:26:02.940 Canadians.

00:26:04.740 Yeah I think one

00:26:06.580 it still wasn't a

00:26:07.400 mistake but one

00:26:08.040 thing I think I

00:26:08.620 learned from this

00:26:09.240 was I like the

00:26:11.020 fact that we're

00:26:11.520 kind of starting

00:26:12.340 this before we

00:26:13.140 announce it just

00:26:14.340 so when people do

00:26:15.700 or do get

00:26:17.680 interested in the

00:26:18.240 perks that they

00:26:18.800 can actually see

00:26:19.440 something they can

00:26:20.540 see something that

00:26:21.100 we've done so that

00:26:22.000 it's not just our

00:26:24.260 word against which

00:26:25.340 which I mean we're

00:26:27.200 going to do it but

00:26:27.940 it's I think it'd be

00:26:28.880 cool to have

00:26:29.640 something be like

00:26:30.560 this is what we're

00:26:31.680 doing but we also

00:26:32.740 want to keep doing.

00:26:34.620 Yeah yeah we're not

00:26:35.720 just selling a dream

00:26:36.760 we're already

00:26:37.740 exactly that's what I

00:26:38.980 was trying to say

00:26:39.760 yeah that's why I'm

00:26:41.540 the narrator of the

00:26:42.740 documentary.

00:26:44.200 I'm the wordsmith

00:26:45.300 you're the visual

00:26:46.220 guy.

00:26:47.620 Kian I know that

00:26:49.100 you've got work to

00:26:50.220 do today and so do

00:26:51.000 I but I want to

00:26:51.640 thank you so much

00:26:52.260 for coming on the

00:26:52.980 show and for

00:26:54.320 working so hard on

00:26:55.260 this documentary.

00:26:57.700 I think it's your

00:26:58.680 best work to date.

00:27:00.340 Well I appreciate

00:27:01.060 that I think it's

00:27:01.780 our best work to

00:27:02.580 date.

00:27:02.760 nice thank you

00:27:04.800 thanks for coming

00:27:07.460 on the show we'll

00:27:08.140 I'll talk to you

00:27:09.640 later today I mean

00:27:10.420 we work together.

00:27:11.260 Okay yeah I'll

00:27:11.860 talk to you in an

00:27:12.320 hour.

00:27:13.000 Okay bye Kian. 0.96

00:27:14.760 Bye.

00:27:22.500 Well we've come to

00:27:23.460 the portion of the

00:27:24.080 show as always where

00:27:25.740 we invite your viewer

00:27:26.980 feedback because

00:27:28.300 without you there is

00:27:29.140 no rebel news so we

00:27:30.140 want to hear from you

00:27:30.960 unlike the mainstream

00:27:31.680 media we don't leave

00:27:33.320 our comment section

00:27:34.420 closed up like Fort

00:27:35.900 Knox we want to

00:27:37.380 have a lively

00:27:38.360 civilized debate in

00:27:40.700 the comment section

00:27:41.520 or you know we want

00:27:43.940 to hear if you like

00:27:45.280 what we're doing or

00:27:46.020 if you hate it.

00:27:46.920 It's one of the

00:27:47.420 reasons why I give

00:27:48.540 out my email address

00:27:49.440 right now it's

00:27:50.200 Sheila at

00:27:50.720 rebelnews.com

00:27:51.860 let me know what

00:27:53.280 you think put gun

00:27:54.280 show letters in the

00:27:54.960 subject line so that

00:27:55.980 it's easier for me to

00:27:56.920 find I do get

00:27:57.660 sometimes upwards of

00:27:58.720 a hundred or

00:27:59.620 hundreds of emails

00:28:01.420 per day so that

00:28:03.020 just helps me sort

00:28:04.260 through them but

00:28:05.220 also don't hesitate

00:28:06.180 to leave a comment

00:28:07.380 on you know

00:28:09.640 whatever platform

00:28:10.300 you're watching the

00:28:11.380 free version of the

00:28:12.380 show on YouTube or

00:28:13.720 Rumble sometimes I go

00:28:14.600 looking over there.

00:28:16.280 Tonight's letter

00:28:17.140 comes to us from a

00:28:18.180 lady named Joanne and

00:28:19.480 it's on last week's

00:28:20.760 show that I did with

00:28:21.640 my friend David

00:28:22.720 Menzies and we were

00:28:24.060 talking about the war

00:28:25.000 on parents that seems

00:28:26.120 to be happening down

00:28:27.420 at school board

00:28:28.560 meetings.

00:28:29.900 Now this is a

00:28:31.160 phenomenon that's

00:28:32.020 happening I think

00:28:33.020 across the civilized

00:28:34.240 western world but it

00:28:36.280 really is focused in

00:28:39.500 Ontario, in Ottawa,

00:28:42.440 you know in Toronto,

00:28:45.440 Halton where there are

00:28:48.980 these attempts to shut

00:28:50.140 parents out of any

00:28:53.660 conversation around what

00:28:54.960 should be taught to

00:28:56.140 their children in

00:28:57.000 school.

00:28:58.200 It seems to be

00:28:59.420 focused around

00:29:00.160 transgender issues and

00:29:02.100 gender theory but I

00:29:05.120 think that's just the

00:29:05.960 flashpoint.

00:29:07.000 I think there has been

00:29:07.860 for quite some time

00:29:09.260 this pervasive problem

00:29:11.260 with teachers and

00:29:13.400 people in the education

00:29:14.340 system thinking that

00:29:15.600 they're co-parents and

00:29:17.040 that even though they

00:29:18.720 are employees of the

00:29:20.640 state paid for by the

00:29:22.840 taxpayer, ultimately the

00:29:24.140 parent, they think that

00:29:25.380 they should have some

00:29:26.240 rights to infect your 0.57

00:29:29.520 children with their

00:29:30.820 ideology and you don't

00:29:32.240 get to say in it and

00:29:33.580 that's outrageous.

00:29:35.060 It's happened long

00:29:36.420 before now.

00:29:37.300 I think this is just the

00:29:38.240 breaking point for a lot

00:29:39.920 of people.

00:29:40.500 Joanne writes,

00:29:41.520 Sheila, I'm a teacher in

00:29:42.760 small town Alberta

00:29:43.580 watching the gun show from

00:29:44.720 a couple of days ago with

00:29:45.920 the legendary David

00:29:46.980 Mendes thinking that you

00:29:48.520 are completely right except

00:29:49.900 I'm waiting for you to

00:29:51.020 mention the approved sex

00:29:52.340 education curriculum that

00:29:53.980 Alberta teachers are

00:29:55.060 required to teach.

00:29:56.820 I've linked it below but

00:29:58.120 anyone can just Google

00:29:59.280 Alberta sex education and

00:30:00.960 you'll get the official

00:30:01.620 site.

00:30:02.420 My principal sent it to all

00:30:03.640 teachers with the lesson

00:30:04.640 plans and resources and

00:30:06.320 the inclusive language we

00:30:07.860 are required to use in the

00:30:09.140 classroom like pregnant

00:30:10.620 person, assigned at birth,

00:30:12.540 etc.

00:30:13.280 Please look at the teacher

00:30:14.560 and parent portals.

00:30:16.160 It's not just Ontario that

00:30:17.300 has a problem with this.

00:30:18.340 Oh, I completely agree with

00:30:20.040 you but I'll preface that

00:30:21.280 at the end of this.

00:30:22.180 And it's not just

00:30:23.160 incompetent woke school

00:30:24.160 board members who are

00:30:25.280 pushing it.

00:30:26.280 Gender ideology

00:30:27.140 indoctrination is here in

00:30:29.040 Alberta created and

00:30:30.000 sanctioned by Alberta 1.00

00:30:31.040 Health and idiot teachers 1.00

00:30:32.780 that are giddily lapping 1.00

00:30:34.840 it up.

00:30:35.240 I also appreciate you

00:30:36.260 immensely.

00:30:36.860 Thank you for the work

00:30:37.460 that you do, Joanne.

00:30:38.860 And then she linked it

00:30:39.680 there and I'll actually link

00:30:40.540 that in the show notes.

00:30:42.420 You know what, Joanne,

00:30:43.780 first of all, I want to

00:30:45.440 thank you because you are a

00:30:47.600 good teacher grinding away

00:30:49.420 in the mechanisms of the

00:30:51.200 machine and the machine

00:30:52.400 is evil and it wants to

00:30:54.100 infect kids with a mind 0.96

00:30:55.860 poison and I'm so glad

00:30:58.080 that you are in the

00:30:59.780 system as probably

00:31:01.040 difficult as it is for

00:31:02.240 you because we need

00:31:03.180 people like you

00:31:04.020 protecting children like

00:31:05.660 mine inside the system

00:31:07.280 and resisting it in any

00:31:10.380 way possible while still

00:31:11.920 maintaining your

00:31:13.680 employment.

00:31:14.220 You still have kids to

00:31:15.120 feed to and bills to pay.

00:31:17.660 So let me just say

00:31:18.960 that while you

00:31:19.980 appreciate me, I very

00:31:21.660 much appreciate you.

00:31:22.580 You are an absolute

00:31:24.200 essential part of this

00:31:25.440 and it's got to be very

00:31:26.660 difficult for you to be

00:31:27.720 inside all of that, just

00:31:29.580 seeing the madness

00:31:30.960 swirling around you.

00:31:32.940 Now, I have read the

00:31:34.340 Alberta sex ed curriculum.

00:31:36.460 It's kooky.

00:31:37.940 It's not great.

00:31:41.180 And, you know, it's

00:31:43.340 written by activists

00:31:45.060 very clearly.

00:31:45.820 It uses weird language

00:31:47.380 that erases women, 1.00

00:31:48.660 which the feminists 0.99

00:31:50.100 seem to be okay about.

00:31:51.680 But I should point out

00:31:53.040 to you.

00:31:53.500 Now, I don't know if

00:31:54.140 this is the same in your

00:31:55.620 school system and it

00:31:58.320 might not be.

00:31:59.200 And thanks to the

00:32:00.420 prickly parents and the

00:32:03.260 very orthodox Catholics

00:32:05.000 in my school system,

00:32:07.460 but while the sex ed

00:32:12.100 curriculum is taught in

00:32:14.000 our schools, we were

00:32:16.280 given the opportunity

00:32:17.060 to opt out entirely.

00:32:19.680 And we were also given

00:32:20.980 the assurances that

00:32:23.060 whatever the province

00:32:25.240 wanted our teachers to

00:32:27.020 teach, it would be

00:32:28.400 taught through a very

00:32:29.180 specific Catholic lens

00:32:31.800 with a focus on

00:32:33.120 abstinence and respecting

00:32:34.520 your body because it is

00:32:36.200 a temple of the Holy

00:32:37.020 Spirit created in the image

00:32:38.660 of the divine and

00:32:40.360 that it would

00:32:40.940 maintain Catholic

00:32:43.080 teaching as the

00:32:45.140 teachers instructed

00:32:46.180 the sex ed curriculum

00:32:47.220 with a strong focus

00:32:48.120 on biology

00:32:48.940 and

00:32:50.700 Catholic doctrine.

00:32:54.100 So, I was given

00:32:55.620 that in my school

00:32:56.680 system.

00:32:57.100 I don't know if

00:32:57.580 that's like that in

00:32:59.000 other school systems

00:32:59.900 and kudos to the

00:33:01.220 teachers inside our

00:33:02.820 school system who

00:33:04.180 advocated for making

00:33:06.280 sure that sex ed was

00:33:07.560 taught through the

00:33:08.820 Catholic lens that we

00:33:10.680 hope it will be because

00:33:11.820 that's why we send our

00:33:12.680 kids to Catholic school

00:33:13.500 and strong thanks to

00:33:15.500 the parents who

00:33:16.440 ensured that that was

00:33:17.520 the case.

00:33:18.600 But without those two

00:33:20.640 groups coming together

00:33:23.420 for the kids, I don't

00:33:26.240 think that would have

00:33:26.780 been the case in my

00:33:27.600 school system.

00:33:28.600 So, I think the moral

00:33:29.240 of the story there is

00:33:30.340 good teachers join hands

00:33:32.200 with good parents to

00:33:33.860 protect the kids from

00:33:35.240 the activists and it

00:33:36.960 can be done.

00:33:37.800 So, I don't want to

00:33:39.000 say which school

00:33:39.720 system my kids go to

00:33:40.680 but I was very glad,

00:33:42.600 very glad that that

00:33:43.320 was the case and I've

00:33:44.680 run up against some

00:33:45.620 activist teachers in

00:33:46.820 that school system.

00:33:47.680 I know they're there

00:33:48.260 too but they seem to

00:33:49.620 be losing because other

00:33:51.640 people are rising up.

00:33:52.780 So, I'm really happy

00:33:53.780 about that and I think

00:33:56.540 that's it.

00:33:57.300 I even read the email

00:33:58.740 actually, I think I

00:33:59.800 read it on the live

00:34:00.580 stream that I received

00:34:01.980 from my daughter's

00:34:04.380 school assuring me

00:34:05.700 that everything would

00:34:07.220 be taught through a

00:34:08.200 Catholic lens.

00:34:08.880 So, it can be done.

00:34:11.600 I guess the moral of

00:34:13.280 the story is it can be

00:34:14.580 done.

00:34:15.140 It's just not often

00:34:16.320 done and it's time for

00:34:18.260 parents to get involved

00:34:19.320 and if there are brave

00:34:21.440 teachers inside the

00:34:22.360 system, grinding it

00:34:24.200 out, thank you.

00:34:25.560 I appreciate you so

00:34:26.860 much.

00:34:27.100 I know it's a terrible

00:34:27.700 job that you have to

00:34:28.460 do.

00:34:29.120 Well, everybody, that's

00:34:30.060 the show for tonight.

00:34:30.740 Thank you so much for

00:34:31.620 tuning in.

00:34:32.100 I'll see everybody

00:34:32.960 back here in the same

00:34:33.760 time, in the same

00:34:35.040 space next week and as

00:34:37.080 always, remember, don't

00:34:38.360 let the government tell

00:34:39.200 you that you've had too

00:34:40.620 much to think.

00:35:02.100 have a great job.

00:35:03.100 I'll see you next week.

00:35:04.100 Bye.

00:35:05.100 Bye.

00:35:06.100 Bye.

00:35:07.100 Bye.

00:35:08.100 Bye.

00:35:09.100 Bye.

00:35:10.100 Bye.

00:35:11.100 Bye.

00:35:11.140 Bye.
