00:17:42.140 on his way to a police station in the back of a police van.

00:17:45.720 And they whipped up public sentiment.

00:17:48.240 And the result of that was the police pulled back from ordinary policing in Baltimore,

00:17:52.700 leading to a spike in the murder rate.

00:17:55.660 And really, if you look at the murder rate in the United States, there are three cities

00:17:59.340 responsible, Baltimore, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

00:18:02.460 And this has been something people have remarked on for many years.

00:18:04.960 HBO, I'm sorry, PBS came out with a documentary last year about the rat problem in Baltimore.

00:18:10.020 So the only thing that's different about this criticism of Baltimore is that Donald Trump

00:18:14.380 Now, the reason he focused on Baltimore, if I'm not mistaken, is because one of Trump's

00:18:20.200 political rivals is a Democrat named Elijah Cummings, who has presided over some of the

00:18:25.700 most desperate neighborhoods in Baltimore for decades.

00:18:29.600 And I don't know.

00:18:30.920 I mean, I'm not going to say the man doesn't care.

00:18:32.820 I'm sure in his heart he does care.

00:18:34.720 But I guess he doesn't care enough to actually fix the problem.

00:18:39.540 Trump's calling him King Elijah, making a lot of fun of it.

00:18:42.600 But I think this is one of the first times the Democrats have been shown their mess.

00:18:47.560 And those three cities you just mentioned, D.C., Chicago, Baltimore, and other urban problem

00:19:28.960 But really, it's almost a self-own, because there's no one in Congress who should ever assume

00:19:33.740 that they're serving for life.

00:19:34.960 And so, this is a common denominator.

00:19:41.240 And yeah, it didn't become racist until Trump said it, of course.
