00:01:13.980 Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen, and the rest of you,

00:01:31.200 in which we look back at some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favourite Rebels.

00:01:36.340 I'm your host, David Menzies.

00:01:37.980 Christopher Scott, the owner of the Whistle Stop Cafe in Little Mirror, Alberta,

00:01:45.200 decided to illegally open his doors, providing a fast-food utopia for his hungry and appreciative customers.

00:01:54.540 But just like Toronto's Adamson BBQ, the pressure is mounting to shut down the Whistle Stop.

00:02:00.900 Scott has already been fined.

00:02:03.420 And I wonder, is there a visit from the mounted unit coming up next?

00:02:08.340 Sheila Gunn-Reed has the skinny. 0.83

00:02:10.500 So, a Canadian nurse goes down to Washington, D.C. to take part in a forum 1.00

00:02:14.900 on the same day that the Capitol building was stormed by a bunch of idiotic hooligans. 1.00

00:02:20.560 But even though she was kilometres away from that fiasco, 1.00

00:02:25.460 obviously she deserves to be blamed and even fired for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. 1.00

00:02:33.040 Just will you hear what Tamara Ugolini has to say about this egregious example of cancel culture. 0.97

00:02:40.640 And letters, we get your letters.

00:02:42.100 We get them every minute of every day.

00:02:43.620 And you had plenty to say about my video regarding yet another very dark day in Toronto history.

00:02:51.080 I speak of last Saturday when police brutally shut down a peaceful anti-lockdown protest.

00:02:58.420 We saw citizens get harassed, ticketed, and even violently arrested for such crimes as

00:03:04.520 standing alone on a corner, driving a van peppered with anti-lockdown messages.

00:03:10.840 And I kid you not, folks, waving a Canadian flag.

00:03:15.760 Amazing.

00:03:16.800 Those are your Rebels.

00:03:17.720 Now, let's round them up.

00:03:24.300 Sheila Gunn-Reed for Rebel News here in Mirror, Alberta.

00:03:27.580 And it is day four of my great illegal burger sit-in at the Whistle Stop Cafe.

00:03:33.940 You see the owner of the restaurant and gas station behind me, Chris Scott,

00:03:38.400 decided late last week, six days ago now, that he would be defying the COVID lockdown and

00:03:44.500 reopening his doors to eat-in dining customers.

00:03:50.200 And I've been here for, well, I guess over half a week now, documenting the support for

00:03:55.420 Chris from the customers and from the community at large for his act of civil disobedience and

00:04:01.160 economic survival.

00:04:02.760 Chris has been threatened with escalating fines and even arrest for reopening.

00:04:06.820 Alberta Health Services has issued a closure notice already and threatened him with having

00:04:12.080 his liquor license pulled.

00:04:13.840 And the police are patrolling constantly at the request of Alberta Health Services.

00:04:18.280 Police have also said that his customers could face fines and arrests, too.

00:04:22.040 They come to collect evidence every day, but today is the first day that they put a peer-in-court

00:04:46.180 paperwork on my desk.

00:04:48.680 So that's something that we needed.

00:04:54.920 Yeah.

00:04:55.700 Yeah.

00:04:56.440 No, it isn't.

00:04:59.400 Hopefully it's cleared out.

00:05:00.680 Speaking of surviving, have you guys been helped yet?

00:05:03.880 Oh, no.

00:05:04.700 We started chatting.

00:05:05.640 So actually, we're waiting to come in.

00:05:07.280 You're going to come in anyways after the police and the health inspector were here?

00:05:11.700 I think so.

00:05:12.420 Why not?

00:05:13.800 Yeah.

00:05:14.240 We'll do what we can.

00:05:15.140 And why do they pick and choose who survives in this province?

00:05:18.240 I saw the RCMP came over and talked to you guys at the table.

00:05:21.960 What did he tell you?

00:05:23.340 What did he say to you?

00:05:24.080 He said we're in contravention of the Alberta Health Act and we could get a ticket for that.

00:05:28.780 So he gave us both our two warnings and so the third time will probably be a ticket.

00:05:36.380 But you didn't get up and walk away?

00:05:38.180 No.

00:05:38.880 I mean, they can't stop us from sitting here, can they?

00:05:42.280 We're not eating.

00:05:44.420 If that's what the big deal is.

00:05:46.420 I heard you say to Chris that you are not interested in participating in any government

00:05:51.260 overreach.

00:05:52.320 Correct. 0.97

00:05:52.960 I mean, this is ridiculous, right? 0.66

00:05:55.100 So you just popped into the whistle stop. 0.88

00:05:57.280 The cops just left.

00:05:59.100 They've given Chris a notice to appear.

00:06:01.500 But you came anyway.

00:06:03.300 Why?

00:06:04.320 Well, hometown.

00:06:05.880 I figure because of this opening up, we live in the best town out there.

00:06:09.120 So have to come and support local.

00:06:11.400 I'm hungry.

00:06:13.380 Same reason everyone else is here.

00:06:15.260 So did you hear the one about the guy who went down to the diner to order a burger and

00:06:19.980 a shake only to get threatened with a summons and a fine for obstruction of justice?

00:06:26.640 Jeez.

00:06:27.280 Past the Eno already.

00:06:29.820 Alas, welcome to the new and not so improved normal, a biosphere of the bazaar, in which

00:06:36.380 the owner of a small town diner working the grill to cook food for hundreds of appreciative

00:06:42.300 customers can be deemed public enemy number one.

00:06:47.040 Incredible.

00:06:47.760 And with more on the ongoing saga of the Whistle Stop Cafe in Mirror, Alberta, is Sheila Gunn-Reed.

00:06:55.860 How are you doing there, Sheila?

00:06:56.860 Hi, David.

00:06:57.860 I'm great.

00:06:58.960 I'm home just for a little bit.

00:07:01.040 But the rest of the day and probably the rest of the weekend, I'll be out on the road eating

00:07:06.180 my way to sweet, delicious Liberty here in Alberta.

00:07:10.200 And unfortunately, you don't have any illegal restaurants in Toronto, at least ones that

00:07:15.120 are loud and proud, like the ones we have here in Alberta.

00:07:18.340 And it started with the Whistle Stop.

00:07:20.080 And, you know, as I've mentioned to you before, Sheila, that's my kind of hunger strike where 0.96

00:07:24.860 we don't stop eating until we get our way.

00:07:27.320 But, Sheila... 0.89

00:07:28.500 I refuse to feel hungry.

00:07:30.680 That's the strike.

00:07:31.980 I'm striking on the emotion and the sensation of hunger.

00:07:35.480 I won't feel it.

00:07:37.400 A hundred percent.

00:07:38.540 You know, but, Sheila, going back to the Whistle Stop, the authorities didn't go all

00:07:42.860 out Adam Skelly on Christopher Scott, but it looks like the RCMP are slowly ramping up

00:07:49.100 to quash the Great Burger Rebellion, just as Toronto Police put an end to the Great

00:07:54.900 Barbecue Rebellion in these parts.

00:07:57.660 How do you think this is going to play out in the days ahead?

00:08:00.460 I think that this is moving very, very slowly for a reason.

00:08:08.080 I think the government, particularly Jason Kenney, does not want to be seen to be heavy

00:08:14.920 handed with these small entrepreneurs in rural Alberta.

00:08:18.620 Now, let's consider where Jason Kenney's base is.

00:08:21.800 It's outside of the cities, by and large.

00:08:24.740 It's rural Alberta.

00:08:26.120 And Jason Kenney campaigned as the free enterprise guy, the pro small business guy, the leave

00:08:34.420 you alone to run your business and dictate your own life guy.

00:08:38.540 And so for him to drop the hammer on these guys, it won't look great.

00:08:42.820 And that's why things have been so slow moving.

00:08:45.820 Now the police come by and the AHS inspectors come by and give more closure notices.

00:08:52.000 Well, those don't really mean anything to a business that was ordered closed back in December

00:08:56.820 and is reopening in defiance.

00:08:58.600 They obviously don't care about closure orders.

00:09:01.120 And the cops, they are just coming by, doing surveillance, reminding everybody of the law.

00:09:06.380 But they really, they haven't issued any tickets, at least to the whistle stop and some of the

00:09:12.380 other restaurants that opened up throughout the week, particularly on Wednesday night was the

00:09:17.240 groundswell of 40 restaurants and businesses that opened up in defiance of the law.

00:09:21.380 So with the whistle stop, they did receive a notice to appear in Stetler Provincial Court.

00:09:28.640 But that's like April 22nd.

00:09:30.480 That's way far down the road.

00:09:32.060 They didn't get a ticket.

00:09:33.040 They got a notice to appear.

00:09:34.380 And I think they're taking a light touch with these restaurant owners because I think the

00:09:40.780 government is being dragged into a decision to re or at least allow the restaurants to reopen

00:09:48.200 in the coming days, maybe in the next week.

00:09:50.940 The government did say that they would give the restaurants seven days notice.

00:09:54.860 That was when they closed them back in December.

00:09:58.160 Now, I don't think these people are going to wait for seven days and many of them have

00:10:02.400 not, as you can see.

00:10:03.940 So I think they're taking that sort of light touch approach because within, I think within

00:10:09.840 the next couple of days, things are going to change drastically here and restaurants will

00:10:14.020 be open.

00:10:14.520 Well, that is indeed a nugget of good news.

00:10:17.720 And Sheila, they should be open.

00:10:19.040 They shouldn't have been closed in the first place.

00:10:20.820 We know from the trade association, Restaurants Canada, the food service industry is not some

00:10:28.400 super spreader environment that is leading to ramped up case counts.

00:10:33.740 There's absolutely zero evidence of that.

00:10:35.860 And, you know, going back to Adam Skelly at Adamson Barbecue in Etobicoke here in Toronto,

00:10:41.860 you know, Sheila, what I always found so perverse is here's a small restaurant that had literally

00:10:49.140 the mounted unit dispatched to shut them down.

00:10:52.740 And 300 meters away was a Costco, not only a superstore jammed to the gills because it

00:11:00.460 was late November, people are doing their Christmas shopping, but a big box store that had its

00:11:06.120 own restaurant still operating.

00:11:08.900 You could buy food at this Costco.

00:11:11.920 Sheila, how do you make sense of this?

00:11:14.620 You can't.

00:11:15.900 You can't.

00:11:16.440 There's no reason why a place like the Whistle Stop in a town of 500 where everybody knows

00:11:22.420 everybody, including when they're at home sick, there's no reason why they can't sell

00:11:27.320 you some poutine.

00:11:28.800 But the Costco in Red Deer, a half an hour up the road, full of people, certainly can.

00:11:35.500 It doesn't make any sense.

00:11:37.960 And that's why places like the Whistle Stop and the Noble Fox up the road and the Hockey

00:11:45.220 Central Sports Pub down the road in Sylvan Lake, they've all decided to reopen.

00:11:50.100 They just don't care anymore.

00:11:52.060 The government has really left these people with nothing left to lose.

00:11:56.460 So what's a fine?

00:11:57.920 What's a closure notice?

00:11:59.280 They don't care.

00:12:01.260 And none of it makes sense.

00:12:02.660 There's really when I'm talking to them, they're saying if they could show us that we

00:12:08.800 are the problem, we would listen to their closure notices.

00:12:13.400 But they have been unable to prove why we need to be closed, so we're not going to be

00:12:19.200 closed anymore.

00:12:19.780 And that's the end of it.

00:12:20.940 And you know, Sheila, you and I, we're big freedom of choice people.

00:12:25.200 So if you're someone in Muir or any of these other communities where illegal restaurants,

00:12:30.920 I can't believe I just said that, are reopening.

00:12:33.640 And you're a scaredy cat, you're fearful of getting the Wuhan virus, if you want to stay

00:12:39.640 at home and order curbside pickup food service, hey, more power to you.

00:12:45.240 But if you'd like to come out with a friend and sit down, have a cup of coffee and a fantastic

00:12:50.760 hamburger, more power to you too.

00:12:53.440 I'm just wondering, Sheila, we always hear in the abortion debate, the left saying, my body,

00:12:58.720 my choice, why doesn't that extend to having a meal?

00:13:03.460 Well, that's the thing.

00:13:04.360 If you don't want to go to a restaurant to have a meal, stay home.

00:13:11.220 But your fear does not mean that the restaurant owner has to lose everything.

00:13:17.740 It does not mean that the waitress has to lose her job.

00:13:20.620 If you are too scared to leave your house and have a normal evening, having a beer, across

00:13:28.660 the table, sharing some chicken wings with your friends, if you're too scared to do that,

00:13:33.800 guess what?

00:13:34.780 The option exists for you to hide under the bed for the rest of your life.

00:13:39.100 But normal people, especially here in Alberta, we're over it.

00:13:43.100 We're not living that way anymore.

00:13:44.880 And I'm so happy to say that we are supporting some of these restaurants that choose to open

00:13:49.540 if they do end up with fines, tickets, notices to appear.

00:13:53.400 We're going to be there with lawyers through fightthefines.com.

00:13:56.940 And we're going to help them every step of the way because no burger is illegal.

00:14:01.380 That is fantastic.

00:14:02.540 And Sheila, very quickly, on the other side of the counter, what's wrong with somebody

00:14:07.040 trying to eke out a livelihood?

00:14:09.060 What's wrong with that entrepreneur hiring people?

00:14:11.840 We know from the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses that thousands of businesses have 0.99

00:14:18.360 folded in the past year because of this damn virus. 1.00

00:14:21.240 Last word goes to you. 1.00

00:14:23.840 These people have a right to make a living.

00:14:27.040 And in these small towns in particular, these businesses are as much a part of the community

00:14:33.040 as the church sometimes.

00:14:35.560 They're the coffee shop where, you know, deals are made, marriages are announced, deaths are

00:14:41.400 mourned.

00:14:42.060 That's the part of the social fabric where these small cafes are.

00:14:46.640 And they refuse to be divided from their community.

00:14:50.000 They refuse to be closed.

00:14:51.760 And really, shame on Alberta Health Services for putting these towns in opposition with

00:14:58.600 their police officers that they tell me they love and appreciate and respect.

00:15:03.860 Excellent.

00:15:04.660 Sheila, thank you so much.

00:15:05.920 And once again, folks, my Canada includes a cheeseburger and fries.

00:15:10.000 Sheila, thank you again.

00:15:12.400 Have a great weekend.

00:15:13.920 I will.

00:15:14.280 You too, David.

00:15:15.100 And that was Sheila Gunn-Reed somewhere in the hinterland of northern Alberta maintaining

00:15:20.260 her anti-hunger strike.

00:15:22.840 Keep it here.

00:15:23.380 More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.

00:15:25.620 As more dissenting voices come forward with concerns about the harm lockdowns are doing

00:15:35.940 to society under the guise of saving lives, the only way to help keep the house of cards

00:15:42.440 from crumbling is to smear campaign those same voices.

00:15:45.940 I'm Tamara Ugolini for Rebel News, catching up with Kristen Nagel, a nurse with 14 years

00:15:51.800 of experience, more recently in pediatrics and specifically at the neonatal intensive

00:15:56.460 care unit.

00:15:57.660 Some of you may remember the interview I did with Kristen at the beginning of January.

00:16:02.180 You can find that at rebelnews.com.

00:16:05.260 At that time, she was getting ready to fly to Washington, D.C. to speak at an event called

00:16:11.940 the Health Summit, which was organized by herself and several other nurses through the

00:16:18.120 Global Frontline Nurses Initiative.

00:16:21.020 Since Kristen's return to Canada, she has been subject to a complete skewing of events

00:16:26.260 and a witch hunt by people choosing to live their lives in constant fear, fueled by the

00:16:32.140 endless mainstream media propaganda.

00:16:34.780 So I caught up with her today to get her side of the story and to clear a few things up.

00:16:39.940 Have a listen.

00:16:40.780 We went to D.C. January 6th.

00:16:42.760 We spoke by the Supreme Court on a health stage with other speakers like Del Bigtree, Mickey

00:16:48.640 Willis, Kevin Jenkins.

00:16:50.360 It was really great.

00:16:52.200 And it was just the energy there from that crowd was amazing.

00:16:57.460 It was so positive where we were.

00:16:59.980 Our message seemed to be received very well.

00:17:04.160 And yeah, I don't know.

00:17:07.620 It sounds like there's a stark contrast there between what we saw here in Canada from our

00:17:13.480 mainstream media and what was reported on CNN and some of the more mainstream news sources

00:17:19.000 in the United States.

00:17:21.180 So that wasn't your experience at all when you were in D.C.

00:17:25.080 Can you confirm that?

00:17:26.960 Yeah, no, not at all.

00:17:28.880 Especially the area we were at, just energies were high.

00:17:32.860 Energy was positive.

00:17:34.840 People were just so engaged, wanting to hear us.

00:17:39.140 All the other speakers were amazing.

00:17:42.320 And, you know, some of the nurses even said like that we just came off that stage, like

00:17:46.220 just feeling, you know, so united and proud.

00:17:48.440 And I'm glad that we got our, you know, stories across.

00:17:51.740 And they, one of them, you know, they left right shortly after.

00:17:55.860 And it was just so sad to see how such a positive experience and something that we did and uniting

00:18:01.880 to share our stories and coming together was tainted with all the news and all the media.

00:18:08.580 It kind of took away from what we were feeling from, you know, where we were on that stage

00:18:12.940 and what we experienced.

00:18:15.700 So this was two very separate events.

00:18:18.860 Now, you didn't experience any violence, any aggression, no rioting, what was coined,

00:18:26.780 I think, even as domestic terrorism.

00:18:29.800 No, not at all.

00:18:31.040 It was actually kind of funny because we were heading back to the hotel room.

00:18:35.780 We were all wrapped up.

00:18:37.120 And my husband's messaging me, asking me if I was okay and what was happening.

00:18:40.280 And I was like, I'm fine.

00:18:42.460 What's going on?

00:18:43.900 So he had to fill me in, actually.

00:18:46.460 So there you have it.

00:18:47.300 Because Nurse Kristen was in the general proximity of the Trump rally in Washington, D.C.,

00:18:53.660 well, then, the conclusion is obvious, isn't it?

00:18:57.460 Namely, this health care professional was up to no good and therefore must be cancelled?

00:19:04.700 Well, that's how the mainstream media is reporting this story,

00:19:08.080 helping to fuel a witch hunt against Kristen. 0.99

00:19:12.060 She's actually had busybody Karen's reporter to CSIS and the RCMP as a so-called domestic terrorist. 1.00

00:19:21.740 And worst of all, Kristen has now been fired from her job as a neonatal intensive care nurse

00:19:28.960 after months of being put on leave for actively denouncing the harmful policies put into place in her ward.

00:19:37.300 Policies that completely disregard ethics and even humanity.

00:19:42.940 Yep, hell hath no fury than those malodorous minions behind cancel culture. 1.00

00:19:49.860 And joining me now to discuss Kristen's plight is Tamara Ugolini.

00:19:53.960 Hey, Tamara. 1.00

00:19:55.880 Hi, David.

00:19:56.660 Hey, Tamara. 1.00

00:19:57.640 Thanks for joining me again.

00:19:59.520 Tamara, what a horrible story.

00:20:02.360 But was this a case of guilt by association?

00:20:07.140 Or was this just a matter of Kristen providing her enemies with a convenient excuse to fire her? 1.00

00:20:16.300 Well, I think the situation compounded over time.

00:20:19.680 So Kristen has been put on an unpaid leave, I think, sometime in the fall, November,

00:20:26.160 in around November, when she began to speak publicly about what she was seeing at the hospital that she works at in London.

00:20:33.600 And so it's just been like a snowball effect, I guess, since that time.

00:20:38.280 And then it seems like the D.C. rally was the icing on the cake for her employer to finally cut ties.

00:20:45.380 You know, it's so despicable.

00:20:48.540 I mean, thanks to a few dozen hooligans that stormed the Capitol building,

00:20:54.060 that has been used by everyone from politicians to the Silicon Valley tech giants

00:21:00.680 to completely clamp down on our freedoms.

00:21:04.440 You see, we've got this big problem.

00:21:06.320 We've got these domestic terrorists.

00:21:08.400 And it seems like she's being lumped into that kettle of fish, too.

00:21:13.440 But her crime, if you can call that, Tamara, is merely espousing a politically incorrect opinion. 1.00

00:21:22.580 Right. Yeah, it's going against what's the widely accepted mainstream narrative.

00:21:26.280 And as she said in our interview, you know, her husband was calling and texting her saying,

00:21:31.360 hey, I'm seeing all these crazy reports on the news.

00:21:34.140 Are you OK?

00:21:35.300 And she had no idea what was going on just a few kilometers from where she was.

00:21:40.560 Yeah. Tamara, what are her options going ahead?

00:21:45.200 We know, you know, the hospital, they want her gone and forgotten.

00:21:50.540 Nobody in the mainstream media would ever come to her defense.

00:21:55.420 What can she do? Is there a legal remedy here?

00:21:59.460 I think she's exploring a few options.

00:22:02.120 It's still, you know, unfortunately, the wheels of justice seem to be slow turning.

00:22:06.140 So it's really too early to say what kind of repercussions there might be available to Kristen. 0.97

00:22:12.020 But I know she's exploring a few options.

00:22:14.340 And so we'll just have to stay tuned.

00:22:17.520 Her biggest initiative is gathering more frontline workers under that, the global frontline nurses,

00:22:25.320 but also the Canadian frontline nurses initiative.

00:22:28.780 So I think as that snowballs, maybe the wheels of justice won't be so slow turning anymore.

00:22:36.360 You know, let's leave it at this, Tamara.

00:22:39.880 What I find appalling about our cancel culture environment that is really catching fire,

00:22:47.380 thanks to opportunists using what happened in Washington, D.C. earlier this month as an excuse,

00:22:53.300 it's the fact that, I mean, when we look at real crime, and I'm talking serial killers, rapists, pedophiles,

00:23:01.760 they go to jail, they do their time, and eventually they get out.

00:23:05.640 And we're always told, especially by the left, oh, we should all be all about second chances,

00:23:11.160 and such and such is now reformed.

00:23:13.580 But if you commit a thought crime, Tamara, you go into a penalty box, and you never come out again.

00:23:21.800 And not only does your voice get cut off in the case of this nurse,

00:23:25.480 you are economically disciplined, you lose your job. 0.99

00:23:29.060 I find this appalling and hypocritical. 0.98

00:23:32.920 Absolutely. 0.80

00:23:33.720 I mean, do you remember at the beginning of COVID,

00:23:35.440 when we were letting convicted criminals out of jail to protect them from COVID?

00:23:40.820 And I think it just cleared space for any dissenting voice now that they can be criminalized in their place.

00:23:49.000 Unbelievable.

00:23:49.940 You can commit a real crime, including the ultimate crime of taking someone's life.

00:23:54.300 There will be parole.

00:23:55.240 There will be a second chance.

00:23:57.000 Commit some kind of Orwellian thought crime, and you are gone for good.

00:24:02.340 Absolutely despicable.

00:24:03.780 Tamara, great interview, and thanks again for joining me.

00:24:07.360 Thanks, David.

00:24:08.100 Take care.

00:24:08.700 You got it.

00:24:09.280 And that was Tamara Ugolini in Cobourg, Ontario.

00:24:13.240 Keep it here, folks.

00:24:14.200 More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.

00:24:16.560 I don't have the right to speak what's on my heart.

00:24:34.140 Mainstream media has decided to sit this one out.

00:24:37.460 Nothing to see here, folks.

00:24:38.880 Go for Moscow! 0.96

00:24:40.520 The people who own everything in this world, they tell us we will own nothing and be happy.

00:24:48.840 You must be questioning this.

00:24:50.940 This is Toronto.

00:24:52.580 This is not North Korea.

00:24:54.480 You're infringing on my rights.

00:24:58.360 You are infringing on my rights.

00:25:00.880 Officer, why are these protesters not allowed to protest, and people like you took the knee

00:25:05.820 for Black Lives Matter for Black Lives Matter in the summer?

00:25:08.420 I'm not going to leave a communist country to my kids or anyone else's kids. 0.99

00:25:13.540 I know the mainstream media is not here, because they probably support censorious thugs like you. 0.98

00:25:19.780 I know. 0.90

00:25:20.360 People need to see this.

00:25:21.620 People need to see this.

00:25:22.880 If you don't give an ID that will be obstructing.

00:25:24.840 You can't be arrested for that.

00:25:25.900 That's fine.

00:25:26.360 I've always wanted to go to jail.

00:25:28.020 Are you saying that media is not exempt?

00:25:29.440 Can you say that on camera?

00:25:30.560 Media is not exempt.

00:25:31.100 Media is exempt, but it's like 2.4 and stuff like that, right?

00:25:35.400 One step back.

00:25:36.740 There he is.

00:25:40.080 Our ancestors fought and died so that we could be free, so we could have a charter. 0.95

00:25:48.000 These men are urinating and defecating on the cenotaphs of every dead soldier across Canada.

00:25:56.360 So would you like to leave or not? 0.98

00:25:58.380 Yeah.

00:25:58.740 Then please leave.

00:26:00.460 Officer, where do you want her to go? 1.00

00:26:03.240 I'm not talking to you.

00:26:04.560 Please leave.

00:26:05.840 The story of my life.

00:26:19.680 Well, folks, David Mendez at Young Dundas Square, and I really can't believe my eyes.

00:26:25.180 There is the entire public square has been cordoned off by police officers.

00:26:32.780 It looks like the anti-lockdown protesters have been moved across the street.

00:26:41.380 And I'm getting a vibe.

00:26:44.840 This is less Toronto, perhaps more Tehran, perhaps more North Korea. 0.54

00:26:50.180 Well, Toronto police were out in full force yet again last Saturday to quash an anti-lockdown

00:26:56.960 protest at Young Dundas Square.

00:26:59.920 And what did we observe?

00:27:01.620 Well, in 2021, there apparently seems to be a whole new litany of things citizens can not

00:27:09.800 do in the vicinity of Young and Dundas streets.

00:27:12.840 These include, and I'm not making this up, folks, standing alone on a street corner, waving

00:27:18.840 a Canadian flag, chanting anti-lockdown rhetoric, and even painting anti-lockdown messages on

00:27:27.440 one's minivan.

00:27:29.160 Yet again, last Saturday marked another terrible day for civil liberties in downtown Hogtown.

00:27:36.620 And you had plenty to say about this egregious crackdown.

00:27:41.100 Canadian Drifter writes,

00:27:42.620 You know, it is sickening to witness, Canadian Drifter. 1.00

00:27:57.820 My grandfather spent more than five years of his life fighting in World War II.

00:28:02.520 In one respect, I'm kind of glad he's not around to see this.

00:28:07.520 Bill Andrews writes, 0.81

00:28:08.940 Toronto cops have shown themselves to be jackboot fascists.

00:28:13.900 Glad to have Rebel News calling this out. 0.99

00:28:16.440 CBC, CTV, Global, what a bunch of useless, see-no-evil non-journalists.

00:28:23.320 Well, thank you, Bill. 0.60

00:28:24.180 It was incredible to see the mainstream media sit this one out, and how perversely ironic

00:28:30.940 the mainstream media apparently doesn't care about our freedoms, including, I presume,

00:28:37.700 freedom of the press.

00:28:39.480 As my boss, Ezra Levant, likes to say, the watchdogs have become lapdogs.

00:28:46.040 Bill Laurie writes,

00:28:47.300 Did I just witness the police disrespecting the Canadian flag?

00:28:53.080 Shame on them.

00:28:54.180 Oh, yes, apparently flying a Canadian flag in Canada is somehow seen as an act of lawlessness.

00:29:03.100 Life during the pandemic just gets weirder and more disturbing, doesn't it, folks?

00:29:08.800 Auto Claims writes,

00:29:10.140 Imagine spending your entire life dreaming to be a cop,

00:29:14.020 hoping to catch bad guys and make a difference in our communities,

00:29:17.540 only to be pushing old ladies off sidewalks. 1.00

00:29:21.280 Hey, great point, Auto Claims.

00:29:23.420 I would like to think that most of the police officers hate being directed to arrest protesters,

00:29:30.320 who have shown since last April that they are 100% peaceful.

00:29:36.680 And I wonder who's giving the orders for police to act this way.

00:29:40.160 Is it Mayor John Tory or Premier Doug Ford?

00:29:43.700 Whoever it is, they should feel deep shame.

00:29:47.680 And 101 Snapper writes,

00:29:49.460 I was a police officer for 30 years, and it is a valid question why they crack down on one group and not another.

00:29:58.060 I think we all know why they won't answer the question.

00:30:02.380 It's really quite disgraceful.

00:30:04.300 Personally, I would have refused as an officer to attend to enforce this protest

00:30:09.620 when we, as a police service, did nothing at the other protests.

00:30:16.040 It's pick and choose, and of course, it's political and doesn't fit the agenda.

00:30:21.220 Well, 101 Snapper, you are my kind of cop.

00:30:25.540 I hope most of your brothers and sisters in the Toronto Police Service feel exactly the same as you do,

00:30:32.580 and I hope they modify their behaviour in future protests.

00:30:37.800 Well, that wraps up another edition of Rebel Roundup.

00:30:40.340 Thanks so much for joining us.

00:30:41.580 See you next week.

00:30:42.300 And hey, folks, never forget, without risk, there can be no glory.

00:30:46.620 Good night.

00:30:51.220 Good night.
