Vice President J.D. Vance guest hosted Charlie Kirk's show yesterday.
00:00:56.500
And he had some words for the country and especially for those who are celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk.
00:01:06.060
There is no unity with people who scream at children over their parents' politics.
00:01:11.620
There is no unity with someone who lies about what Charlie Kirk said in order to excuse his murder.
00:01:17.260
There is no unity with someone who harasses an innocent family the day after the father of that family lost a dear friend.
00:01:25.620
There is no unity with the people who celebrate Charlie Kirk's assassination.
00:01:30.620
And there is no unity with the people who fund these articles, who pay the salaries of these terrorist sympathizers,
00:01:37.100
who argue that Charlie Kirk, a loving husband and father, deserved a shot to the neck because he spoke words with which they disagree.
00:01:49.940
Look, as Christians, we are called to try to make peace with everyone.
00:01:53.620
But making peace with people does not mean being weak.
00:01:59.180
It means sometimes that we have to restrain evil and punish wickedness on behalf of the most vulnerable.
00:02:07.180
People get very confused sometimes about Jesus's commands to turn the other cheek and to forgive and to pray for our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
00:02:17.700
All of those things are commands for the Christian and they are countercultural.
00:02:21.220
They are definitely against any kind of spirit of anger and bitterness and vengeance when it comes to our personal relationships.
00:02:30.600
People apply that wrongly to how the government is supposed to act.
00:02:35.600
When we say, well, we need to punish crime or we need to use the death penalty to punish those who commit this kind of murder,
00:02:43.740
people will say, well, Jesus said to turn the other cheek.
00:02:46.940
And I just want to take you through that logic for a second.
00:02:49.200
If you're saying that Jesus's commands apply to the government, then you would be saying that we should not punish crime at all.
00:02:57.640
Because if we should turn the other cheek when people commit these heinous crimes of rape or assault or murder,
00:03:05.200
that would mean that we also shouldn't put them in jail.
00:03:08.520
And surely I haven't met anyone yet who believes that.
00:03:12.480
So I think we have to think a little bit more deeply about what it means to make peace
00:03:19.880
What it actually means in these passages is to conduct ourselves in our interpersonal communication,
00:03:26.480
in our relationships with grace and forgiveness and foregoing all hypocrisy
00:03:32.480
and the kind of resentment that builds up between people,
00:03:35.880
understanding that God in Christ has forgiven us so much.
00:03:41.000
There is a possibility for repentance and for salvation and for spiritual mercy for this person who killed Charlie Kirk.
00:03:50.340
I pray that the Holy Spirit would enter his heart, that he would change,
00:03:53.440
that he would see the gravity of what he did and the state of his sinful self apart from Christ bound for hell.
00:04:04.920
Because what we see, specifically in Romans 13, that the state, the government, does not bear the sword in vain.
00:04:19.160
And when we're talking specifically about this particular person that committed this crime against Charlie Kirk and committed this murder,
00:04:31.840
we go all the way back to Genesis 9 in the Noahic Covenant, before the establishment of Israel, before the establishment of any civilization.
00:04:39.320
When God says that if you commit murder, then you should be executed.
00:04:46.420
If you shed another's blood, if you shed the blood of an innocent person, then your blood will be shed.
00:04:58.260
It's for a reason that is still true today because man is made in God's image.
00:05:04.440
So I just want you to understand that, yes, as Christians, we should be peacemakers and we should seek to forgive.
00:05:12.300
That does not mean that we do not have the responsibility to compel and advocate to our government to exact earthly justice.
00:05:29.500
It's not collectively maligning one group because of their socioeconomic status or race.
00:05:38.220
It's not an oppressed versus oppressor dichotomy.
00:05:41.440
It's not taking away the wealth and the privilege from one group and trying to redistribute it to another group.
00:05:47.720
We can look at God's law giving to Israel and his character throughout Scripture to look at what justice should look like.
00:05:53.980
If we are going to abide by the creator's rules that the founders abided by.
00:06:03.140
Proportional, it is impartial, it is truthful, and it is direct.
00:06:11.320
People are very confused about what justice needs to look like today.
00:06:15.980
And even though J.D. Vance right there, he's not talking about the death penalty.
00:06:19.920
I don't think I know his personal stance on the death penalty, particularly as a Catholic.
00:06:30.960
I do hear him emphasizing the government's job to restrain evil.
00:06:39.380
That's the same thing I heard Stephen Miller say in the clip that we played on Monday.
00:06:49.280
I'm not saying that we should be trying to stoke division because ultimately this is not left versus right.
00:07:12.080
We saw people of all races be murdered by these rioters.
00:07:16.340
Never forget St. Louis police officer, former police officer David Dorn.
00:07:27.420
She was a little eight-year-old girl who was killed by BLM rioters in Atlanta, Georgia a few years ago.
00:07:34.780
Has that happened in the wake of the death of one of the right's heroes?
00:07:43.860
He was just kind of a symbol of something that people on the left think is systemic, and it's actually not.
00:07:51.100
But Charlie Kirk, he was someone that millions and millions of people on our side around the world admired.
00:07:56.800
Have we seen anyone scared to leave their homes?
00:07:59.380
Have we seen any business board up their windows?
00:08:02.900
Are police officers scared for their lives right now?
00:08:08.740
Do we see plans of vengeance coming to fruition?
00:08:19.240
And I love this kind of clear language from J.D. Vance.
00:08:23.240
To have this kind of moral clarity in the White House is so incredibly important.
00:08:32.780
And what I can pray is that justice, true, biblical, proportionate, impartial justice manifests itself.
00:08:41.720
And that this administration, if it accomplishes nothing else, that it would accomplish its godly responsibility, its God-given obligation to restrain evil on behalf of the most vulnerable.
00:08:55.780
I've always said that one way to love your neighbor, one way to love your neighbor is to fight crime.
00:09:03.500
One way to show compassion for the most vulnerable, to stand up for the truly marginalized, the truly defenseless, is to do everything you can to stop violence in the streets and to protect them from those who give no regard to their well-being.
00:09:20.760
And so this is the righteous obligation of the government to do what they can to put a stop to evil.
00:09:27.960
Okay, we've got a lot more to say about J.D. Vance's comments on Charlie Kirk's podcast.
00:09:33.080
But let me go ahead and remind you, Share the Errors is coming up, y'all.
00:09:40.980
And we are expecting 5,000 Christian women from across the country to be there singing in unison,
00:09:50.780
In Christ Alone, just to give you a little bit of a taste of what the worship will look like.
00:09:55.540
And I can tell you from being there last year, this is such a special conference.
00:10:02.540
It is, by the grace of God, Holy Spirit inspired.
00:10:09.360
Last year was right before the election, so we were fired up.
00:10:15.000
We needed to remind ourselves that God is on His throne, that He is sovereign, that we've got each other's backs,
00:10:25.800
I had no idea that we were going to be in such a similar but even more monumental moment this year,
00:10:33.760
that I think we need it more this year than we did last year.
00:10:36.180
And if you're thinking that, too, if you feel that fire burning, you don't know what to do with it,
00:10:40.260
or if you feel alone, if you feel afraid, please come to Share the Arrows.
00:10:43.480
I'm just inviting you to come because I want you there.
00:10:47.640
You can use my code ALLY20 when you check out, and you'll get 20% off.
00:10:53.440
It's actually if you press the unlock button on Ticketmaster, that's where you'll get that 20% off.
00:11:04.000
I just picked the, like, most fiery people I could find.
00:11:13.320
This year's Share the Arrows is brought to you by our friends at Carly Jean Los Angeles.
00:11:25.560
And before we get back into this conversation, I want to tell you guys about Cozy Earth.
00:11:34.340
And I actually need to get more of all of this because I just, I hate running out of
00:11:39.640
my Cozy Earth stuff, whether it's my pajamas or my loungewear or any of the other products
00:11:50.620
And this is another company that supports us that you want to support.
00:11:53.880
They also make for awesome gifts, wedding gifts, birthday gifts.
00:11:57.120
If you go to CozyEarth.com and you use my code RELATABLE, you get up to 40% off.
00:12:01.980
That is, I think, the highest precedent discount of any sponsor that I have.
00:12:10.780
You'll get up to 40% off your new favorite pajama set and blanket.
00:12:17.480
Okay, so he's got a word for the people who are celebrating or excusing or downplaying
00:12:28.380
in any way this horrible assassination sought for.
00:12:33.420
So when you see someone celebrating Charlie's murder, call them out in hell.
00:12:39.340
We don't believe in political violence, but we do believe in civility.
00:12:43.420
And there is no civility in the celebration of political assassination.
00:12:50.100
It's what a lot of people have been saying, that there are consequences for celebrating
00:13:04.600
And if you're possessed by a demon, I don't want you to be a pediatric nurse.
00:13:12.340
I don't want you working at the old folks' home.
00:13:15.840
I don't want you to be a professor shaping the minds of future leaders and voters.
00:13:26.820
So yes, you should be calling the employer of people who are out and out celebrating or
00:13:35.240
There has to be social ostracization for those people.
00:13:39.580
As Stephen Miller said yesterday, we will not live in fear, but you will live in exile.
00:13:44.140
That is what the justice system is for when people are actually committing crimes.
00:13:49.940
I'm not talking about punishing people legally for their speech, but when people are actually
00:13:54.760
committing crimes, these cells of violence and radicalization that we're seeing across
00:13:58.280
the country, our justice system is supposed to go after those.
00:14:01.580
And when it comes to people who are celebrating this assassination, there are social consequences
00:14:11.100
And if you didn't want that to happen, shouldn't have killed the nicest guy on the right.
00:14:18.980
St. Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians to put on the full armor of God.
00:14:26.500
Let all of us put on that armor and commit ourselves to that cause for which Charlie gave
00:14:32.160
his life, to rebuild a united states of America and to do it by telling the truth.
00:14:45.100
Don't partner with darkness, but instead expose it.
00:14:49.600
That's what the book of Ephesians tells us to do.
00:14:51.320
There's so much wisdom in the book of Ephesians.
00:14:53.560
My friend and I, I feel like I've probably told you this before, but I can't remember.
00:14:57.920
My friend and I, when we were in college, we decided to memorize the whole book of Ephesians,
00:15:02.440
which I don't think there's another book that I've memorized in full.
00:15:05.440
I've memorized lots of bits and pieces of the Bible over time, but we decided to memorize
00:15:10.760
and recite to each other just for fun, the entire book of Ephesians.
00:15:17.860
I really encourage you to challenge yourself in that way because you have heard me do it.
00:15:22.520
You've heard me just tell you Ephesians 2, and I keep going and going because like 13
00:15:28.100
years ago, my friend and I decided to memorize it and recite it.
00:15:32.140
And it really does hide the word in your heart.
00:15:34.120
And you're just reminded of the gospel all the time.
00:15:37.340
You're reminded of these verses all of the time because you have it locked away in your
00:15:44.100
So, wow, what a gift it is to hide God's word in your heart and how amazing it is that
00:15:48.800
it is living and active, that every time something happens, it bubbles up.
00:15:54.680
And God is so good that he has given us his will in his word so that we don't have to wonder
00:16:02.180
But this ancient text that is always applicable to us in every single moment is ministering
00:16:09.140
to our hearts when we read Scripture and when we memorize Scripture.
00:16:15.180
Because I forgot this, I want to tell you on that note something really amazing.
00:16:20.340
Crossway and I are partnering together to give away 500 of the Concise ESV Study Bibles.
00:16:26.680
So it's really amazing that they are willing to do this.
00:16:29.640
We reached out to them and we said, what can we do?
00:16:35.300
So all you have to do is click the link in this description.
00:16:37.660
We'll put it at the top of the description, whether you're listening or you're watching,
00:16:45.020
If you want to read the Bible, then get this study Bible and start in the book of John.
00:16:50.020
So we would love for you to get one of these Bibles and to dig into it.
00:16:57.360
Maybe you could even start in the book of Ephesians since I was just talking about that.
00:17:01.140
But it's so important to know and understand truth right now.
00:17:05.200
So there's this other clip from J.D. Vance where he basically recites the Nicene Creed,
00:17:11.960
and the Nicene Creed in general is what unites kind of Catholics and Protestants that generally
00:17:21.020
I mean, this is so much of the gospel that is being publicized in Charlie's name to millions
00:17:28.520
Now, the most important truth Charlie told is this, that long ago, a man begotten, not
00:17:36.880
made, came down from heaven and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and
00:17:45.060
For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate and suffered death and was buried and
00:17:52.520
Charlie believed, as I do, that all the truth he told flowed from that fundamental principle.
00:18:05.060
So I just thought that was a beautiful tribute.
00:18:07.040
I thought that it balanced strength and faith and hope and peace really well.
00:18:18.520
We need peace through strength, not just externally, but internally as well.
00:18:23.240
As I've said before, when, you know, before Charlie, like we all thought on the right, we
00:18:29.640
were bringing words, we were bringing beliefs, but they were bringing weapons and they were
00:18:35.320
And this is a very different battle than the one that we thought.
00:18:45.740
But again, in order to do that, we have to root out evil.
00:18:50.160
Now, on Monday, we talked about all of the revival, the awakening that we are seeing across
00:18:56.360
These so many people who have reached out to me personally, people that I've known in
00:19:00.480
life, also just followers and fans sending me messages saying, I'm going to church.
00:19:10.260
Um, I was talking to my makeup artist this morning and she was so deeply affected by Charlie's
00:19:16.480
And of course she didn't, she didn't know him personally, but it is comforting to me when
00:19:22.480
I talk to so many people who feel because Charlie was murdered that they lost something.
00:19:29.480
And it's sad, of course, but the reason that it is assuring is because I know that this
00:19:35.620
has changed everything, it's changed everything ultimately, I think, in a way that God will
00:19:43.020
bring glory to himself and that will lead to change that will be good for the country.
00:19:48.800
Now, would I have chosen, would anyone have chosen for it to go this way?
00:19:55.360
I hate that Charlie was an impetus for anything.
00:19:58.320
I wish that there could have been a revival and reawakening without this.
00:20:03.280
And I do think that that had already kind of been started, but again, God is in the
00:20:10.360
He is in the business of making beauty out of ashes and thwarting Satan's schemes.
00:20:15.760
And when Satan thinks he's winning, when he thinks that he's taken someone out of the
00:20:23.360
God does something incredible by bringing glory to himself.

I just want to play you this clip of Forrest Frank.
00:21:48.040
A lot of people are saying that they lost followers, they lost friends, they had to block
00:21:53.620
people because they said something about Charlie Kirk.
00:21:58.300
And, you know, Forrest, as I've talked about, we did a segment, Charlie and I did, on Fox and
00:22:07.040
And I said that there is genuinely good music now that is glorifying God.
00:22:11.400
And I talked about going to a Forrest Frank concert and Charlie had talked about Forrest
00:22:17.180
And so Forrest just did this kind of like a dedication video to Charlie, didn't make a
00:22:27.020
Well, after he got backlash, this is what Forrest had to say.
00:22:30.100
30,000 people unfollowed me because I posted about Charlie Kirk and I said that Jesus Christ
00:22:43.640
I don't want you to do any of that if you don't do this one thing.
00:22:46.580
And that is follow Jesus Christ, the King of all kings, the Lord of all lords, the one
00:22:54.120
So if you have not gotten your heart right with him and dropped down on your knees and
00:23:07.460
I just want you to know that Jesus Christ is here and he loves you.
00:23:11.480
Okay, like that's just I just want y'all to know out there, especially y'all who just
00:23:22.460
And the fact that he said that he repents for not being bolder in his platform, someone
00:23:27.860
that I think very unapologetically shares the gospel, but maybe he feels like he's been
00:23:32.420
reticent to say some things that are true for fear of backlash, like that is really big.
00:23:40.920
Elisa Childers, she's going to be speaking at Share the Arrows.
00:23:45.320
She posted on X a confession that a few years ago she was asked to speak at a conference
00:23:50.460
with Charlie, but she believed some of the progressive lies about Charlie, that he was
00:23:59.860
She did the only thing that we can ever do when we mess up, when we make a mistake, when
00:24:05.580
And she said this was to her shame and that she was wrong about Charlie and that she watched
00:24:12.400
all this footage of Charlie and realized that he was a minister of the gospel, that he wanted
00:24:20.140
And I'm not just talking about non-Christians waking up.
00:24:24.420
I am talking about Christians who have been shaken because of this.
00:24:31.400
And I feel like I have been even more reinvigorated.
00:24:37.580
I mean, at first, my reaction, of course, was fear and anxiety.
00:24:44.720
But gosh, this has so firmly established the importance of bold truth tellers.
00:24:52.400
And this has awakened, I think, this just spirit of courage.
00:24:58.980
And when it hits one person, that torch is passed to the next and the next.
00:25:03.540
And I've been thinking about this quote that I heard from my friend, Seth Gruber.
00:25:09.220
He has an organization, a pro-life organization called the White Rose Resistance.
00:25:13.740
And he got this name from the White Rose Resistance of Christians in Germany who fought against
00:25:21.760
And Hans and Sophie Scholl were these young 22 and 24-year-old brother and sister pair that
00:25:30.920
And they were beheaded for their advocacy for fighting against Nazism and fighting on behalf
00:25:37.920
of their fellow image bearers of God in Germany.
00:25:43.020
At the age of 22, Sophie Scholl wrote a letter to her mother explaining what the real problem is.
00:25:52.320
She said that the real problem weren't the evildoers, but the cowards.
00:25:59.260
The real damage is done by those millions who just want to survive.
00:26:03.340
The honest men who just want to be left in peace.
00:26:06.560
Those who don't want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves.
00:26:13.500
Those who won't take measure of their own strength for fear of antagonizing their own weakness.
00:26:22.500
Those for whom freedom, honor, truth, and principles are only literature.
00:26:27.740
If you don't make any noise, the boogeyman won't find you.
00:26:34.360
Those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe.
00:26:42.360
Narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues.
00:26:45.180
And a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does.
00:26:53.320
Sophie's bravery, her death, helped fan the flame of Nazi opposition throughout the world.
00:27:02.700
And I just want to remind you, Christian, that your heritage is not one of cowardice.
00:27:18.020
I think a lot of people can look out at the chaos of our world and say, it's never been worse than this.
00:27:24.740
They're getting darker than they've ever been before.
00:27:28.740
It's harder to live like a Christian than ever.
00:27:32.940
Let me remind you that Christians used to be fed to lions.
00:27:35.800
Let me remind you that Christians used to be beheaded and their heads placed on top of stakes and lit on fire.
00:27:45.160
Let me remind you that Christians have been tortured, that they've been butchered, that they have been betrayed, that they have been bruised and battered for their faith.
00:27:56.940
Let me remind you of the fate of our Lord, who was full of grace and truth, who only shared truth, who healed the sick, who helped the poor, who touched the untouchable.
00:28:09.880
He was the kindest and most loving individual that ever lived, that ever walked the earth.
00:28:23.460
I've been thinking a lot over the past few days about Stephen.
00:28:30.520
Stephen, who is described as being full of grace and power.
00:28:39.880
Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.
00:28:45.460
Then some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the freedmen, as it was called, and others, paraphrasing that part, rose up and disputed with Stephen.
00:28:53.780
But they could not withstand the wisdom and the spirit with which he was speaking.
00:29:04.080
We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God, which, of course, was not true.
00:29:08.400
And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes.
00:29:11.060
And they came upon him and seized him and brought him before the council.
00:29:16.360
This man never ceases to speak words against this holy place and the law.
00:29:20.420
For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and will change the customs that Moses delivered to us.
00:29:27.740
And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
00:29:34.660
And then Stephen took this opportunity to share the gospel.
00:29:41.920
This is the road through the Old Testament from the very beginning until our Messiah, this Jesus, arrived and you rejected him.
00:29:53.620
You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit as your fathers did.
00:30:01.940
Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute?
00:30:05.460
And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the righteous one, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,
00:30:11.600
you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it.
00:30:15.700
So Stephen, out of love for these people, out of a love for God, out of a desire for these people to know truth and accept Jesus as the Messiah,
00:30:32.340
Maybe in our day they would have called him a bigot.
00:30:37.300
This person, Stephen, who had a face like an angel, who was so peaceful, so calm and full of grace and power.
00:30:44.720
Wouldn't all of us want to be described that way as full of grace and power?
00:30:57.820
Over and over again, we see that no matter how kind Christians are, no matter how nice we are, no matter how perfect our tone is,
00:31:06.860
there will be people because they don't understand the truth, because they don't know the truth,
00:31:11.240
because they are depraved in mind, who will want to kill us.
00:31:17.740
So anyone out there who would like to say, well, Charlie was killed because of how he spoke,
00:31:22.780
because he was divisive, because of his politics.
00:31:25.720
No, Charlie was killed because he was a forth-telling prophet.
00:31:29.820
And because the prophet in so many different eras has been murdered, has been executed.
00:31:38.560
I'm not claiming that he was a foretelling prophet, that he could see the future,
00:31:44.160
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, he was able to give such prescient and precise language
00:31:50.120
to describe the evil spirit of the age and to call people to repentance.
00:31:55.440
And because of that, he made people very angry.
00:32:06.100
But the history of Christianity doesn't stop with someone being killed.
00:32:09.780
The history of Christianity starts with not Jesus' crucifixion, but his resurrection.
00:32:15.500
And because of that, we see the manifestation of the resurrection
00:32:19.560
throughout the past 2,000 years of Christian history,
00:32:22.300
that when Christians are killed, Christians are multiplied.
00:32:26.900
Christians tell the truth, Christians are killed, and then Christians are multiplied.
00:32:32.860
That's the pattern that we are seeing right now.
00:32:34.740
We are living through the same cycle that Christians have lived through for years.
00:32:38.560
And what a blessed privilege that we get to be vessels of courage,
00:32:44.240
and making sure that God's purpose of multiplication happens.
00:32:49.460
Wow, what a terrifying age, but what a privileged moment that we get to live in.
00:33:04.080
Let us meet this moment with the fullness of strength of the power of the Holy Spirit
00:33:10.720
that God has placed in every single believer for the past 2,000 years.
00:33:18.480
From Herod to Harris, the Holy Spirit is alive and well in the lives of believers.
00:33:26.080
All right, I've got more encouragement for us in just a second.
00:33:33.000
If you want to opt out of the hassle and the craziness of health insurance,
00:33:39.920

00:33:44.780

00:33:52.900

00:33:56.180
They're taking health care into their own hands.
00:34:07.020
a team that negotiates medical bills on your behalf.
00:34:13.440
And then the crowd steps in to help with the rest.
