00:01:17.500 We've got more cases of tragic trans violence.
00:01:21.140 There is a commonality in all of these stories today that we will be exploring.
00:01:26.360 We've got all of this and much more on today's episode of Relatable.
00:01:39.140 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable.
00:01:41.000 Happy Monday.
00:01:42.060 Hope everyone had a wonderful, peaceful, restful weekend.
00:01:45.840 Well, this just in.
00:01:46.940 This is literally breaking news.
00:01:48.740 You're hearing it here first.
00:01:51.460 God's eternal plan of redemption is going off without a hitch.
00:01:53.680 Praise God.
00:01:54.660 I'm so glad that it's still true today, every second of every day, that nothing is surprising
00:01:59.660 to him.
00:02:00.320 He's not looking down, taken aback.
00:02:02.320 He's never shocked.
00:02:03.300 He's never thrown off.
00:02:04.360 He's never surprised because nothing happens arbitrarily or accidentally.
00:02:08.720 There are no maverick molecules in all of creation, not in your life, not in the entirety
00:02:13.620 of history, and not in the entirety of the universe.
00:02:16.720 We have a God who is sovereign over all of it, and he is actively working all things
00:02:21.780 together for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.
00:02:25.800 That's what we read in Romans 8, 28.
00:02:28.720 And what good news that is when even our circumstances seem murky or maybe they seem downright tragic
00:02:34.960 and we don't know how we are ever going to get pulled out of this pit of anxiety or the
00:02:40.620 paralysis of depression, that heavy burden, whatever it is you're carrying or someone in
00:02:45.040 your life is carrying.
00:02:46.960 I don't know when that's going to end.
00:02:48.480 I'm not here to give you a health and wealth gospel that says you're about to turn a corner.
00:02:53.620 I just feel like something's about to shift for you.
00:02:56.380 I don't know that.
00:02:56.980 I haven't been given that insider knowledge.
00:02:58.960 All I have is the promise that is in God's Word, that one day he's coming back, that one
00:03:03.520 day we're going to be set free from everything that binds us, that one day we're not going
00:03:07.160 to be tempted to sin anymore.
00:03:08.560 One day there's not going to be the effect of sin, so there's not going to be any sorrow.
00:03:12.340 There won't be any betrayal.
00:03:13.660 There won't be any war.
00:03:14.940 There won't be violence.
00:03:15.940 There won't be division.
00:03:16.860 There won't be politics.
00:03:18.320 There won't be cowardice.
00:03:19.380 There won't be a need for courage or sacrifice.
00:03:22.660 We will live in perfect peace forever and ever.
00:03:25.860 There will be no more little kids getting sick.
00:03:29.280 There will be no more victims.
00:03:31.340 There will be no more of these chaotic news stories that we have to talk about and try
00:03:36.120 to make sense of.
00:03:37.500 Everything will be light.
00:03:39.020 Everything will be goodness.
00:03:40.460 And if you ever look at the state of the world or even the state of your own life and
00:03:44.300 you're thinking, gosh, how do I seek God in this?
00:03:48.240 Like how would a good God, who I'm told is a good father, why would he let any of this
00:03:52.820 happen? The thing that I take comfort in because I have those thoughts too.
00:03:56.460 We all have those thoughts, especially as parents.
00:03:59.160 We look at our kids.
00:03:59.940 I'm like, if I had the power to stop that bad thing from happening in my kid's life, I
00:04:04.000 would. God has the power to stop this bad thing happening in the world, yet he doesn't.
00:04:08.520 So how do I square that with the reality that God is love and that he is just and good?
00:04:13.240 Well, I square that by remembering that his eternal plan of redemption is ongoing.
00:04:20.880 It is happening.
00:04:21.920 It never hits a bump in the road, that he is promising that he is going to come back
00:04:27.440 and that he's not just going to gloss over injustice, but he's actually going to avenge
00:04:33.060 his people.
00:04:33.900 He is actually going to pay back the evildoers and he's going to defeat Satan and defeat
00:04:39.620 the wicked. And his wrath is kindling. He's planning all of that. He knows, and he alone
00:04:45.380 knows, the day and the hour when Jesus is going to come back, not as a humble baby in
00:04:49.660 a manger, but as a warrior with a sword coming out of his mouth, riding on a horse with a
00:04:54.540 tattoo on his thigh. A very different picture of our Messiah when he comes back. That's what
00:04:59.480 we have hope in. And that's what we can take joy in, even when things are really hard.
00:05:06.420 That is why you've heard me say this a lot, that Christians must have this winning combination
00:05:11.280 of clarity and courage. We live in an age of chaos and confusion and cowardice. You've
00:05:18.200 even got Christians who will feed you confusion and they'll call it just nuance, or they will
00:05:25.660 feed you a message of cowardice. They will encourage you to be cowardly, to be quiet, and they'll
00:05:32.260 call that peacemaking. Well, Jesus came to not bring peace primarily, but a sword. And
00:05:38.300 remember, the truth divides. The truth divides. As Christians, we're not purposely trying to
00:05:44.060 be divisive, but the gospel is divisive. The reality of right and wrong, sin and goodness,
00:05:51.820 those messages are divisive. So I just want to encourage you, when you are feeling all the
00:05:57.620 pressure of the world to swim downstream and to go along, to get along, what Christ has
00:06:03.880 called us to, especially in this moment is clarity and courage. I don't always know what
00:06:08.940 that looks like for you and your life. It doesn't necessarily always mean this big public display
00:06:14.900 of bravery, although it might, although it might. You simply have to do, I simply have to do
00:06:21.220 the next right thing in faith with excellence and for the glory of God. Sometimes that's changing
00:06:27.400 a diaper. Sometimes that's sending an email. Sometimes it's something more public and a little
00:06:34.180 bit bigger than that. Sometimes it's standing up to your PTA, the administration at your school,
00:06:40.060 your city council, your boss, people in authority, and saying, that is wrong. That was sin. That was
00:06:46.780 cowardice. And maybe you're the only voice to do it, but let me tell you, I know from experience
00:06:51.760 that courage is contagious. And if we have courageous pastors and courageous moms and
00:06:57.080 courageous dads willing to actually be a light by speaking the hard truth and love in every sphere
00:07:02.620 that you occupy, that is how Christians change culture. That's how we've changed culture for 2000
00:07:07.400 years. So as we talk about yet again, darkness that is happening in this world and how Satan is
00:07:13.280 weaving himself through all of this and disguising himself as an angel of light. And as we see yet
00:07:18.440 again, that children are the unconsenting subjects of these progressive social experiments, that
00:07:22.740 children have a target on their back, not only by the powers that be, but also Satan himself and has
00:07:29.640 since the beginning. We also have to remember that Christians have been carrying this baton for
00:07:34.500 2000 years of protecting the most vulnerable by doing and saying the difficult, the unpopular thing,
00:07:42.400 but the true thing, whatever the cost. Before we get into some of those stories, I just want to take
00:07:47.900 a little bit of an administrative break and remind you about Share the Arrows. If you want to be
00:07:53.820 equipped with courage, if you want to be equipped with clarity, that is what Share the Arrows is. That
00:07:58.500 was my inspiration for starting it. If you don't know what I mean by sharing the arrows, this is a theme
00:08:04.800 that we've had on the show for several years. When a Christian is getting canceled, condemned, criticized,
00:08:10.840 lambasted for their faith. Maybe people are trying to put them out of business. Maybe people are trying
00:08:17.820 to push them out into the darkness, out into the margins of society. Maybe they're getting bullied.
00:08:22.780 They're getting unfairly punished in some way for standing for what is good, right, and true. Rather
00:08:28.420 than us as Christians, rather than us saying, oh, I'm so glad that's not me. I'm so glad that I'm not
00:08:34.380 getting bullied. I'm just going to kind of hide over here in my corner until the mob runs by and maybe they
00:08:40.300 won't notice me. No, no, no. Instead of being cowards who are ashamed of Christ and ashamed of
00:08:45.740 the gospel, we stand up and say, hey, actually, I'm over here too. And whatever arrows you're throwing
00:08:51.500 her way, you can throw my way too because guess what? What she said, I also believe it. I believe
00:08:56.900 that too. Yeah, it's unpopular to say that marriage is between a man and a woman. Yeah, I know. People are
00:09:03.600 going to get really angry if I talk about the value of embryos and the ethical problems with
00:09:09.940 something like IVF. People are going to get angry when I say that abortion is murder. People are going
00:09:15.460 to get mad when I say there's only two genders. People are going to be outraged when I say that
00:09:20.960 Jesus is the only way to heaven. But if you're going to be mad at things that are biblically true,
00:09:28.680 send your anger my way, and I'll share those arrows with her. So this conference is about
00:09:34.820 equipping you to be a bold Christian in every sphere that you occupy, stay at home mom, or if
00:09:41.840 you're an employee, if you're a boss, if you are a single woman, married woman, grandmother, and to be
00:09:49.000 an effective witness. And all of our speakers are biblically solid. They are gospel-centered. This is a
00:09:57.060 worship-filled conference, and this is, above all, a no-fluff conference. Unlike most women's
00:10:04.580 conferences, this is not about self-love and our emotions and making us feel better and just
00:10:08.180 telling people that we're beautiful. That's not what this is about. This is about theology. This
00:10:13.180 is about apologetics. This is about bringing the Word of God with you wherever you go and being
00:10:18.560 encouraged and equipped to do that. It's really an incredible Holy Spirit-filled day. This is year
00:10:23.900 three, October 10th, Dallas, Texas. Go to sharethearrows.com. Make sure that you bring your
00:10:30.100 friends, your small group. It's just a women's conference, no men allowed, except for, just a
00:10:36.680 spoiler, there will be some male presence on the stage this year. That's all I'll say. But in
00:10:42.620 attendance, it is a Christian women's conference. I can't wait to see you there, sharethearrows.com.
00:10:47.600 If you love this podcast, please leave us a five-star review wherever you watch or listen.
00:10:52.460 It really helps the show a lot. It helps other people see the show. So if you think this is
00:10:56.960 truth that needs to be shared, please leave us a positive review and make sure you subscribe on
00:11:01.760 YouTube. Maybe you're watching this, you think you subscribe, but make sure that you subscribe and
00:11:05.880 like this video if you like this video. All right, let's get into some of the craziness of the day.
00:11:11.280 Let me go ahead and pause. I'll tell you about our first sponsor. It's Adele Natural Cosmetics.
00:11:15.320 One of the best ways that we can support Christians is making sure that we are supporting their
00:11:19.240 companies rather than just funding the alternatives. So many times, secular companies,
00:11:25.180 especially these big, wealthy companies, they donate a portion of your dollars to Planned
00:11:29.780 Parenthood, to Democrat politicians, to pro-trans causes. And if you want to make sure that your
00:11:34.980 dollars are going toward a company that supports our values, unapologetically pro-life, unabashedly
00:11:40.960 Christian, then you need to get your cosmetics and your skincare from Adele Natural Cosmetics.
00:11:44.820 Love them so much. Arlene and her family are the real deal. This is a family-owned company.
00:11:51.020 They hand-make all of their products. Here in America, everything is completely natural.
00:11:56.580 No synthetic fragrances, no synthetic fake endocrine-disrupting ingredients that you have
00:12:03.480 to worry about. I use their oil-based essential cleanser every day. As far as their makeup,
00:12:08.680 their moisturizing foundation is incredible. They'll also give you a complimentary color-matching
00:12:13.120 service. You're not guessing the shades, and you can get the one that looks best on you.
00:12:16.920 I love Adele, and you will too. Go to adelnaturalcosmetics.com. Use code ALLY for 25%
00:12:22.480 off your first-time purchase. adelnaturalcosmetics.com. Code ALLY.
00:12:32.120 All right. Unfortunately, it has been about zero days since we have had to talk about yet another
00:12:38.880 tragedy where people have lost their lives. They have been murdered because of a man who believes
00:12:45.200 that he is a woman, being enraged at his wife, being enraged at children, and reportedly taking
00:12:53.960 out this anger on them through murder. So there is a transgender Rhode Island shooter who walked into
00:13:05.420 a hockey game and allegedly shot his wife, his ex-wife, and his son, killed them, injured at least
00:13:14.660 three others before turning the gun on himself and ending his own life. So let me give you just a
00:13:21.540 little bit of information, and then we'll analyze why this is happening over and over again. So police
00:13:27.300 described the shooting as a targeted incident that was stemming from a family dispute. Of course,
00:13:32.700 police are almost always very politically correct in these situations. According to one of his adult
00:13:38.480 daughters, Amanda Wallace Hubbard, he battled serious personal demons, exhibited toxic behavior
00:13:44.260 throughout his adult life. We'll put up some pictures of what he looked like as well. Court documents
00:13:49.280 reveal longstanding family conflicts tied to the suspect's so-called gender transition. The reason we
00:13:55.560 say so-called is because it's not actually possible to transition your gender or your sex. He had mental
00:14:00.560 health issues. This includes the suspect's wife's divorce filing that originally cited, quote,
00:14:07.880 gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic and personality disorder traits as a reason for the
00:14:13.860 split. Before that, language was actually crossed out. So it ended up being crossed out of court
00:14:19.120 documents and later amended to irreconcilable differences. But obviously, we know the truth.
00:14:26.200 Based on these court documents, this poor woman was married to this man. He fathered her kids. I
00:14:32.560 believe I read that they have six children together, grown children at this point, and that he decided
00:14:39.280 that he wanted to transition so-called into a woman. We don't know all the details of that and exactly how
00:14:45.280 that went down. But I can just imagine we've heard the testimony of other women in a similar situation,
00:14:51.640 how heartbreaking that is. Even you hear from Kris Kardashian, and this was on reality TV, when she was
00:14:59.220 just begging Bruce, like, please take a trinket or something from all of our life together. You don't want
00:15:05.480 any of your possessions. She's like smelling his shirts because she misses her husband. I mean, it's like
00:15:11.740 someone died. And when you have someone who is so narcissistic and has fed into this extremely dark
00:15:18.120 fetish, because that's what it is, a man enjoying having breasts and wearing women's clothing,
00:15:23.360 that's a fetish. Okay? That's a sexual perversion. It has nothing to do with gender dysphoria.
00:15:29.200 That is, I think, a form of devastation that is almost worse than death. Because if you lost your
00:15:37.420 husband, at least you know you lost your husband. Like, he died as your husband, this man who loved you.
00:15:43.420 Of course, that's tragic. But this is like someone died, and it is forcing you to lie. It's forcing
00:15:50.420 you to pretend something that you don't want to pretend. And there's also, I can't even imagine
00:15:54.420 the psychological trauma that goes along with that. Like, this person that you, like, that you
00:16:00.580 conceive children with is now has, like, fake breasts and looks so grotesque. I just can't imagine how
00:16:06.540 difficult that was. If we look at this person who went by the name of Roberta, surprise, surprise,
00:16:13.500 his name was Robert previously, we see a lot of confusion and just a lot of strange things. So
00:16:20.440 here are some of those posts. He, he, my cis wife has flames shooting from her ears when I outdo her.
00:16:27.580 And I just want to note, this is something that is extremely common among these men who have this
00:16:33.920 sexual gender fetish is that there is an envy towards women in their life. They actually try
00:16:39.380 to mimic the clothing, the style, the look of their wives. There's a lot of gender envy, covetousness
00:16:47.680 going on there. And again, in the vast majority of cases, I believe this comes from an addiction to
00:16:54.300 porn that gets darker and darker. There is a whole genre of porn. We've talked about it with a researcher
00:16:59.680 on this show that really promotes this kind of behavior and this kind of living out fetish. And let me just
00:17:06.780 tell you, humiliation of actual women and girls is a part of that fetish. Okay, that's not just like an
00:17:14.640 unfortunate consequence of this that people like him wanted to avoid. No, that was something that he got
00:17:21.520 off on. That was something that he was excited about. So just understand that when I hear people with this
00:17:27.280 kind of faux compassion for transgenderism that, oh, well, we just need to accept this. I can't
00:17:32.540 imagine what it's like to feel like you're born in the wrong body. That constitutes probably less than
00:17:38.360 1% of men or boys who try to identify as the opposite sex. I mean, the DSM-5 said it was somewhere like
00:17:46.600 1% of males actually struggled with that persistent feeling from a young age that they were really supposed
00:17:53.400 to be a girl. We should have compassion for that. They can't control that. But still, the answer to
00:17:58.860 that even is not to affirm that that boy is actually a girl. That is still cruel. What's even more cruel
00:18:04.500 is affirming someone who through pornography has been convinced that they are actually a woman and
00:18:10.580 saying, yeah, this dude, you see the pictures, you saw the pictures of this person, should be able to
00:18:17.140 share a bathroom with a little girl? Obviously not. Now, as you could tell from the images, this person
00:18:24.120 also on testosterone in addition to the synthetic estrogen. In fact, he says, all my roid rages came
00:18:32.220 from testosterone, not my estrogen, oddly enough. There's no way actually for you to know that. I mean,
00:18:38.740 men aren't supposed to be pumped with estrogen. There's a reason why we have this certain amount of
00:18:43.640 hormones that we have. Women are supposed to have a certain amount of estrogen and progesterone and
00:18:47.800 testosterone. Men are supposed to have their levels of testosterone and hormones that are right for
00:18:52.440 their body. God made them that way. That starts in the womb, by the way. Of course, when we mess that
00:18:56.980 up, that's going to have psychological and physical negative effects. And then Roberta says, anyway,
00:19:01.780 when I'm misgendered, I politely whisper through clenched teeth, honey, don't make me break a nail
00:19:06.380 knocking your teeth out. Yeah, because that's how women talk. That's how women talk. Me and the gals,
00:19:13.020 like whenever someone comes up to us and says something we don't like, we're like, man,
00:19:17.860 I'm going to break a nail knocking your teeth out. Yeah, sure. That's super feminine. Also,
00:19:24.360 Roberta says, I could build a wall with the skulls of everyone who calls me sir. And I, again, like,
00:19:30.000 this is so incredibly common, this kind of talking. Like, do you remember, was it the lieutenant
00:19:37.680 governor of Michigan? No, I think it was Minnesota. And we can pull that up. And remember, she had,
00:19:45.720 she had this picture where she was opening up her blazer and her t-shirt said, protect trans kids.
00:19:53.460 And it had a knife on there. So that's, if you don't affirm that Jack has just become Sally at 12
00:20:00.400 years old, we will kill you. Okay. This, we see this kind of violent rhetoric a lot from these
00:20:06.440 transgender activists. This also, Roberta Weird says, I'm hyper conservative, hyper Christian,
00:20:13.940 and hyper gender dysphoric trans woman. Anyone can take a particular sentence from the Bible and
00:20:18.780 condemn another to death justifiably. Okay. No, you're not, you're not a Christian. Jesus says,
00:20:27.240 if you love me, you'll keep my commandments. Now, none of us is perfect. That's absolutely true.
00:20:31.580 All of us can struggle with a variety of things and sin in a variety of different ways and still
00:20:36.460 be Christians because we won't be perfect until glory. But this unrepentant sin that ended up leading
00:20:41.680 to murder, that shows an unregenerate heart. And a struggle doesn't mean that you do something that
00:20:48.860 you want to do. Like a struggle would mean that you are not doing that thing, even though it's
00:20:55.020 difficult. Roberta said, my wife says she hates the person who stole her husband.
00:21:01.260 And she said, I think, or he said, I think it's extremely important to take special care of those
00:21:06.100 who stand by us, listen and understand what they're going through for our sake. Okay. Weirdo. So all
00:21:10.600 different kinds of things, pro trans. One thing that he said that I thought was disturbing, keep bashing
00:21:16.020 us, but do not wonder why we go berserk. So this is also very common among, among transgender activists.
00:21:22.620 To say that, you know, you, people like me, people like Charlie Kirk, you're the reason why we get
00:21:31.340 violent. You're the reason why we have to murder. You're the reason why we go crazy. No, the reason
00:21:35.700 why you go crazy is because you're a man who thinks that you're a woman or you're a woman who thinks
00:21:39.760 that you're a man. That is inherently insane. And insane people do other insane and very often
00:21:45.980 violent things. Not all people who identify as trans are going to be violent, but I think they're much
00:21:50.080 more likely to be violent because you're inherently mentally unstable. Now this next story that we have
00:21:55.300 to talk about has another component in it. And it actually is a common component with the first, but
00:21:59.780 this is about a child minor in Canada who identified as the opposite sex and the impact of fatherlessness
00:22:07.880 so clearly on this boy is obvious here. And so we've got a father who was stolen by transgender
00:22:13.660 ideology. We have a father who was absent, which his absence helped induce transgender ideology.
00:22:19.540 And this boy that we'll talk about next, and it goes to show so much, like how good God is in
00:22:25.180 creating the two genders, creating mom and dad, creating male and female, and why we as Christians
00:22:31.720 are called to say, God knows better. And therefore we have to be clear about it. If we want to save these
00:22:36.920 people's lives, let me pause and tell you about the next sponsor for the day. And that is We Heart Nutrition.
00:22:41.880 I love We Heart Nutrition. I take their supplements every day. Kristen and Jacob are the real deal.
00:22:49.600 They are a Christian mom and dad of five kids, and they are just trying to glorify God in everything
00:22:55.100 they do. They started the supplement company because they felt called to do so, but really they saw a
00:23:00.560 need. They saw a need for supplements that come with the most bioavailable ingredients. We take a lot
00:23:07.240 of different things to make ourselves feel better, but sometimes we don't really know if it's making
00:23:11.900 a difference. We look at the ingredients and we realize, okay, this is not the form of, for example,
00:23:17.520 folic acid that I need. I actually need folate so that my body can digest it and can use it in the way
00:23:23.540 that it needs. And that's why they care so much about every ingredient. They care about the packaging.
00:23:27.660 They care about the message and the values behind each product. I use their probiotics, their iron,
00:23:33.300 their prenatals, their omega-3s, their magnesium, all of it. It's been a game changer for my hair,
00:23:38.240 skin, and nails. Also for my health, my immune system. So thankful for We Heart Nutrition. You
00:23:44.020 will love it. Go to weheartnutrition.com. Use code Allie. You'll get 20% off your order when you do that.
00:23:51.860 WeHeartNutrition.com. Code Allie. So just six days before the Rhode Island shooting that we were just
00:24:02.480 discussing, there was another trans-involved shooting in Canada. So this so-called transgender,
00:24:09.460 again, I say so-called because there's no such thing as transgender, got him in a dress, a boy,
00:24:15.440 dressed as a girl. He reportedly killed his mother, an 11-year-old stepbrother,
00:24:20.020 at home in Tumblr Ridge. Again, there's always this envy and anger towards wives,
00:24:25.200 towards mothers, towards sisters before heading to Tumblr Ridge Secondary School. And there he
00:24:29.900 allegedly injured 25 people, killed six more, five students, age 12 to 13, one teacher. Then he also
00:24:37.660 died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. I know that there's one young woman, one girl, I don't remember
00:24:43.600 her name, but she is in the hospital still in critical condition fighting for her life after she was shot by
00:24:49.060 this person. Now, here is how it was reported by ABC News. And this is so important to show
00:24:55.180 that even in something like this, we are still pushing this madness, which just continues the
00:25:00.440 vicious cycle. ABC News says, breaking, the person who carried out a school massacre is an 18-year-old
00:25:06.140 woman with mental health issues, but she did not give a motive for one of the worst mass shootings
00:25:11.760 in Canada's history. Okay. But it's not a woman. It is a boy who we know from his history has posted
00:25:20.240 on social media about being a girl, not being accepted because he was a girl. Some also very
00:25:25.660 disturbing, like maniacal laughing videos. So something very deeply spiritual going on here.
00:25:32.220 And I know I said something earlier about this being insanity, and that is true, but sometimes mental
00:25:38.820 health issues or insanity can kind of be used as an excuse. And I just want to make really clear that
00:25:44.400 insanity is not an excuse for evil. That yes, you probably have a level of mental instability going
00:25:52.020 on here in a lot of these mass shootings, but evil is the driver behind it. These people probably
00:25:57.880 weren't born with mental health issues. They might not even have like a real diagnosis. It's probably
00:26:04.260 blossomed into something like schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, bipolar disorder,
00:26:11.060 but it started probably with evil. Like it started with an addiction. It started with looking at things
00:26:16.660 they shouldn't have looked at. It started with thinking thoughts that they shouldn't have been
00:26:20.060 thinking and that festers. Satan gets a foothold. All of us could be vulnerable to that, by the way,
00:26:26.080 because we're all fallen people and it grows and it grows. And evil is a destabilizing force,
00:26:32.180 but that's, it shouldn't be an excuse. I don't think in a court of law, and it certainly shouldn't
00:26:37.400 be an excuse as we're thinking about right and wrong. So the biological father, this is a point
00:26:44.180 that I think we need to note. The biological father of this Canadian shooter, his name is Justin Van
00:26:49.460 Rootseller. He publicly released a statement to express his deep sorrow and to clarify his complete
00:26:55.280 estrangement from the child. So the New York Post says transgender Canadian school shooter,
00:27:00.160 we're trying not to say the shooter's name, the father distances himself from killer son.
00:27:06.500 I was not a part of his life. In the statement, he emphasized that he had no involvement in his
00:27:12.580 kid's life or the upbringing. Apparently, he says the mother had refused his participation from the
00:27:17.380 start. We don't know. You know, we don't know if that's true. It was really the mother's fault or not.
00:27:22.160 Unfortunately, the mother is now dead. This father referred to his child using the surname
00:27:27.260 Strange, Strang, I'm not really sure how to pronounce it, from the mother's side, consistently
00:27:32.040 used pronouns aligning with his son's biological sex throughout his comments. And the dad, Justin,
00:27:39.500 stressed that his son never adopted or used his own family name. Anyway, what he's trying to do is
00:27:46.580 to distance himself from his son. What he's trying to say is this is not my fault. I was not involved in
00:27:52.940 this at all. And I understand his desire to do that. But actually, it was his absence, I believe,
00:27:58.320 that contributed to this. It was his absence that created probably this kind of instability.
00:28:05.560 Like kids need more involvement from both parents, not less. He clearly didn't have this strong male
00:28:12.940 role model that he needed in his life. And I'm not saying that is always the antidote. That's not
00:28:18.140 always the thing that is going to prevent a guy, a young man, from going down this path.
00:28:24.100 But it certainly doesn't help. It certainly doesn't help when you don't have a father in
00:28:28.940 the home. There are a few things that we know about fatherlessness. An analysis of 56 school
00:28:35.580 shootings by Dr. Peter Langman, psychologist and leading researcher on the psychology of school
00:28:41.360 shooters, found that only 18% of the shooters were raised in a stable home with both biological
00:28:47.520 parents, while 82% grew up in unstable family environments or without both biological parents
00:28:54.020 together. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 80% of single-family parents in the United States
00:28:59.900 are headed by mothers, meaning the biological father is not present in the household. Children
00:29:05.780 in single-parent homes are at higher risk for low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, increased
00:29:12.460 suicidal thoughts and attempts. 63% of youth suicides occur among individuals from fatherless
00:29:19.160 homes. 85% of children who display behavioral disorders come from homes without a father. 66%
00:29:27.560 of 75 juvenile delinquents that were studied in a study had experienced fatherlessness. 20% had
00:29:35.460 never lived with their biological father. 25% had a father who is an alcoholic. There is so much
00:29:42.160 research on this from so many different perspectives, not just Christian perspectives. Children need
00:29:47.680 psychologically, physiologically, you need both your mom and your dad. The ideal situation
00:29:54.400 for every child is a married biological mom and dad. That is the ideal. We live in a fallen world,
00:30:02.280 so sometimes things are sub-ideal, and that's not great. The next best is for them to live with a married
00:30:10.280 mom and dad who maybe are adoptive and aren't actually their biological parents, but that's
00:30:18.060 the next best option. The most dangerous person in a child's life is actually the unrelated male who
00:30:23.860 lives with them in the home. That's just statistically true. It's not true in every case. Fatherlessness
00:30:28.980 and motherlessness have a severe effect on parents. I'm not just talking about this in relation to divorce,
00:30:35.000 by the way, and deadbeat dads. I am talking about this also in relation to the redefinition of
00:30:41.180 marriage as two men or two women. We are forcing fatherlessness and motherlessness and confusion on
00:30:46.780 kids and saying, figure it out. That is the common theme in both of these. Yes, we've got two dads who
00:30:54.540 made mistakes that could have at least contributed to the loss of life here. This dad in this case in
00:31:02.200 Canada, I don't know all of the details. Maybe he really did try to be involved in his child's life,
00:31:06.440 so I'm not putting the responsibility for these murders on his shoulders. I don't know everything
00:31:12.260 that happened. It's just the reality that his absence and fatherlessness in the son's life
00:31:17.400 led to a lack of stability that probably led to what happened. The derelict dad in the first story
00:31:23.800 that we talked about, his lack of personal responsibility certainly led to the choices that he made,
00:31:30.660 which contributed to this tragic loss of life. In both cases, what we see is this principle
00:31:37.160 that we have watched over and over again that we've talked about so much is that children are
00:31:41.600 always the primary unconsenting subjects of progressive social experiments over and over
00:31:47.480 again because children can't really consent. They don't have physical power to fight back. They don't
00:31:53.640 have political capital that can be leveraged. They don't have any money capital that they can pay their
00:31:59.780 way out of these situations. They don't even have the mental capacity to be able to defend themselves.
00:32:05.780 They don't even have the legal rights as young children to say, I don't like this. This is a bad
00:32:11.320 situation for me. They don't have the tools necessary to be able to fight back against really confusing
00:32:18.440 ideology, to fight back against some of the things that they see online, the messages that are told to
00:32:25.280 them in public schools, in some of these games and apps and pornography and all of this that is
00:32:30.480 affecting them. Kids need their parents. They need moms and dads. We are the safeguard for them.
00:32:41.360 And gosh, God was so good when he made the family. He made the family specifically for the tethering of the
00:32:49.780 man, the protection of the woman and the tethering of the woman in some ways, and the protection of
00:32:56.620 the child. When we go outside of that in the name of love is love, in the name of just being authentic
00:33:01.980 and doing what you want to do, kids suffer. Kids suffer. Katie Faust has been talking about this for a
00:33:09.600 long time. I really appreciate her. Also recommend you read Love Thy Body by Nancy Piercy. Just gives you a
00:33:16.660 very solid theological and philosophical grounding for the definition of marriage, how we should treat
00:33:22.200 our bodies when it comes to sex, and then also why the reality of male and female are so important.
00:33:29.160 But this is Satan's playground. He is loving this. He is an agent of chaos. He has been a murderer since
00:33:38.560 the beginning. And so what is Christian's role in all of this? It's certainly not to just make the peace
00:33:45.140 with it. It's certainly not to just give nuance to the situation. Well, maybe it's okay if someone
00:33:50.800 identifies as this. Maybe you should just use the preferred pronouns in some case. Maybe if we're
00:33:56.860 just nice to them, they'll stop shooting people. That's not going to happen. You're not going to
00:34:04.180 Neville Chamberlain yourself out of this one. We're not going to be able to compromise out of this one.
00:34:10.060 The way out of this is clarity and courage. Not hatred, not cruelty. You love these people.
00:34:16.220 You share the gospel with them, but it is never loving to lie to someone and to say, actually,
00:34:21.400 yeah, God was wrong when he created you. Speak the truth in love to your friends who buy into this.
00:34:28.720 Your friends who have their pronoun in their profile, talk with them about it. You don't have
00:34:32.360 to be obnoxious. You can be persuasive. You can ask them questions. I really encourage you.
00:34:37.920 I've already encouraged you to read someone else's book, but I do encourage you
00:34:41.800 to read Toxic Empathy. If you just read the gender chapter, you are going to know so much about
00:34:47.000 where this philosophy comes from, how it started, the people who have pushed it, the money that is
00:34:53.680 behind it, the science behind gender, and of course, what the Bible says about this that is so
00:34:58.580 incredibly clear. We talked about last week that alliteration, the five R's that we talk about
00:35:05.380 when it comes to the definition of marriage, but it's also true of the definition of gender.
00:35:09.380 The definition of gender is between male and females rooted in creation, reiterated throughout
00:35:13.740 scripture, repeated by Jesus in Matthew 19, 4 through 5, representative of Christ in the church
00:35:19.440 when it comes to marriage in Ephesians 5, and then is also, in a way, reflective of the gospel
00:35:25.540 when man and woman are joined in marriage.
00:35:28.180 And so this is a central Christian tenet. It is not possible to be pro-transgender and to be a
00:35:35.120 Christian. It is not possible. So love your neighbor enough to tell the truth. Love your neighbor
00:35:43.260 enough to try to preserve their life, to try to protect them from the dangers of this ideology.
00:35:51.200 Unfortunately, this is a pattern that we see over and over again. Charlie Kirk was allegedly shot by
00:35:58.940 someone who had a so-called transgender partner, was angry about the truth that he spoke about male
00:36:05.660 and female, which is biblical truth, which is why he was a martyr. The Annunciation Catholic school
00:36:10.220 shooting in Minneapolis was also committed by someone who called himself transgender. Perry High School
00:36:16.420 shooting in Iowa, January 2024. Two killed. Shooter. Identified as transgender. Covenant Christian
00:36:23.740 school shooting in Nashville. Everyone should go back and watch my episode on that from a couple
00:36:28.000 years ago, March 2023. I could barely hold it together, but just understand what this ideology
00:36:33.660 is doing. This was a woman who identified as a man. Even the Club Q gay bar shooting in Colorado
00:36:38.940 Springs for November 2022. Someone who identified as non-binary. This ideology is killing people. It's
00:36:45.820 killing the people who believe it, and it's killing other people too. Speak the truth and love. Christian
00:36:51.940 lives literally depend on it. All right, let's switch gears a little bit. Go to our next sponsor first,
00:36:57.240 and that is Legacy Box. I'm so grateful for Legacy Box and the service that they offer. It's such an
00:37:02.980 incredible idea because those of us who were born in the 90s, we've got a bunch of these home videos of
00:37:08.400 us on VHS tapes, and we want to be able to pass them down, but we can't even watch them because none of us
00:37:14.320 have a VHS player anymore, and even if they got transferred to DVD several years ago, well, now
00:37:19.680 we don't have DVD players, and our computers don't even give us the option of putting in discs, and so
00:37:25.700 you really just need it in a digital file, and that's exactly what Legacy Box does. They send you
00:37:30.300 this box, and you put in your VHS tapes, and you can put in your pictures, and all of these memories
00:37:36.860 can be digitized and put into a file that is well organized, sent back to you. They send you back all the
00:37:42.500 hard copies, too, of course, and now you have a version of all of these incredible memories over
00:37:47.960 the decades that you can pass down to your kids and your grandkids. They won't get lost. If your
00:37:53.140 house gets flooded, hopefully that doesn't happen, or something gets damaged in a move, you don't have
00:37:58.760 to worry about losing these memories. You'll have them forever this way, so go to LegacyBox.com
00:38:02.940 slash Allie. You'll get 50% off with my link. That's LegacyBox.com slash Allie.
00:38:13.740 Let's do an update quickly on the Epstein files, and I know that we're like moving from
00:38:18.500 dark to dark here, but it's so important for us to realize what's going on, and look, I think it's
00:38:24.660 really overwhelming for all of you and also all of us in the commentary space to know what to talk
00:38:30.200 about and when and to know exactly what has been verified, what has not been verified, but the truth
00:38:37.480 is, is that those in the Epstein files, especially those who have been documented as saying nasty stuff
00:38:45.540 about children, I mean, some of the images, I'm trying not to look at the images and to read the
00:38:50.220 descriptions of some of the things that have been happening over the years to babies, to children,
00:38:56.580 like, and some of it, again, I'm not even sure is real, if it's just some exaggerated
00:39:01.240 allegation, but some of this stuff is real, and I don't even want, I don't even want to repeat it
00:39:09.180 to you because of how difficult it is to stomach, but some of the darkest and most demonic stuff
00:39:15.140 was happening with impunity, probably still happens, it does still happen in other realms of the world
00:39:22.100 today, and anyone who is found to have been talking about committing those acts, who did commit those
00:39:28.820 acts, who was involved with Jeffrey Epstein in any way, they need to be brought to justice. Our DOJ has
00:39:35.560 a responsibility to do that, but other world governments do as well, and so in a stunning turn
00:39:40.180 of events, which you've probably heard about by now, last Thursday, Prince Andrew was arrested at his
00:39:45.120 home in the UK for suspicion of misconduct while in office. Police stated they were investigating
00:39:50.980 allegations that Jeffrey Epstein that trafficked Virginia Jufri to Britain for Andrew at the age
00:39:58.860 of 17. There are several other people around the world who are now being called out and are stepping
00:40:07.360 down because of their alleged involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. So I'm not going to be able to pronounce
00:40:15.720 all of these names. I don't have any phonetic spelling on my document. Thurborn Jagland, former
00:40:22.640 Prime Minister of Norway and former Secretary General of the Council of Europe. He was charged in February
00:40:29.480 2026 with gross corruption, including allegedly accepting gifts and travel to Epstein's properties.
00:40:36.140 Larry Summers, former U.S. Treasury Secretary under Obama and former Harvard president, he resigned from
00:40:42.680 the board of OpenAI recently and several other public roles in November 2025 after emails revealed him
00:40:52.300 seeking romantic advice from Epstein. Kimball Musk, Elon Musk's younger brother, a board member of the Burning Man
00:41:00.580 Project, resigned in February 2026 following emails showing Epstein helped arrange a personal relationship
00:41:06.100 for him in 2012 and 2013. Peter Mandelson, UK's ambassador to the U.S., dismissed in September 2025 after sending
00:41:15.480 supportive messages to Epstein following his conviction and maintaining contact. We've got Steve Tisch, co-owner of the
00:41:22.100 New York Giants, prompted an NFL review after emails from 2013 released in the Epstein files showed exchanges with Epstein
00:41:29.720 discussing discussing connections to women. And then lastly, we have Kathy Rumler, I think that's how you
00:41:35.260 pronounce her last name, chief legal officer of Goldman Sachs and former White House counsel under
00:41:41.160 President Barack Obama, a confidant of President Barack Obama. She was very tight, it seems like, in these
00:41:47.440 emails that were revealed with Epstein signing off with XOXO, planning island visits. She submitted her
00:41:54.060 resignation in February 2026, effective four months from now after scrutiny on her interactions with
00:42:01.540 Epstein. It's clear that these people, at the very least, knew Epstein was a sketchy guy who bribed people
00:42:09.800 and who could make all of your hedonistic dreams come true. And they continued to associate with him.
00:42:17.440 Now, I believe some of these people probably did do criminal activity with Jeffrey Epstein.
00:42:24.060 Beyond what we can even imagine. And I just want to know, like, what has happened to these child
00:42:32.260 victims? Like, where are they? And I just hope that we have more brave people willing to come forward and
00:42:39.600 to say, this is who my abuser was. Of course, we know Bill Gates was reportedly friends with Jeffrey
00:42:46.440 Epstein. Melissa Gates has now talked about that openly. And so a few years ago, I think a lot of people
00:42:53.220 thought that this was a conspiracy theory, that this is just some, like, cuckoo thing that these
00:42:59.960 random, obscure people on the internet thought was happening. There's no way that it's happening.
00:43:05.380 There's no way anyone's above the law. I think what we're realizing is that there is an echelon of
00:43:10.240 people that we don't have any understanding of when it comes to their power and the level of their
00:43:16.660 depravity. Remember, we read in scripture that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
00:43:24.680 And you might think, well, no, it's not just money. It's lust. It's power. Yes. But if scripture is true,
00:43:32.400 then it's actually the love of money, covetousness, greed that is a root, at least, of all different
00:43:39.400 kinds of evil. Not money itself, but the idolatry of having more and more power and more influence and
00:43:46.280 more pleasure. And after reading all of this, it actually is, it's just the circumstances
00:43:52.980 surrounding Epstein's death, they just seem sketchier and sketchier. That's all I'll say.
00:43:58.820 So I'll continue paying attention to this. It's always a balance for me. Like, how much darkness do I
00:44:04.900 show on this show? Do I talk about on this show, trying to protect the ears and the eyes of myself,
00:44:11.240 but also of y'all while not ignoring the darkness that's happening, praying for justice.
00:44:17.720 And we should all be pushing for that. All right. Let me end on a couple of things. One, disturbing,
00:44:26.420 but then one really, really helpful. But first, let me tell you about our next sponsor,
00:44:31.560 and that's Seven Weeks Coffee. In all of the darkness that's happening in the world, I'm just
00:44:37.000 so thankful for fellow Christians and especially Christian companies that are ushering in light,
00:44:42.280 using their talents, using their resources in a way that glorifies God and helps the most
00:44:46.840 vulnerable. Seven Weeks Coffee not only makes you really great tasting coffee, it's super high
00:44:51.600 quality, mold-free, pesticide-free, organic, all that good stuff. We love it in our home. But they also
00:44:57.080 donate 10% of every sale to a pregnancy center across the country. They've donated well over a
00:45:02.500 million dollars to these pregnancy centers that translates into saving these baby lives, giving
00:45:07.440 moms in crisis the resources they need to make that life-affirming choice. So you can allow your
00:45:12.920 coffee to serve a higher purpose. I'm so thankful for Seven Weeks Coffee that they make an awesome
00:45:18.300 product that is also saving lives. So go to sevenweekscoffee.com, use code Allie. You'll get an

00:45:36.360 Okay, I've been meaning to talk about this and we just haven't gotten a chance, but I want to talk
00:45:40.620 about Frida Baby. Now, this one, this story is extremely disappointing to me because I and every
00:45:49.380 other mom I know has used the Frida Baby products, whether it's the snot sucker or the breastfeeding
00:45:57.640 tools, they have really good, effective products that are, I thought, like at first, just looking
00:46:05.060 at the font and the name and some of the cute depictions on there, just like well-marketed,
00:46:11.320 well-packaged, young, hip-looking products. I mean, they've completely blown up in the past
00:46:17.360 few years because they just have a really effective marketing strategy. I have never,
00:46:22.900 ever noticed any kind of sexual innuendo on any of their packages until they started getting
00:46:30.080 backlash and people started pointing out. I had no idea some of the stuff that they had been posting
00:46:35.180 about, but people pointed out that this is actually the theme and basically all of their products,
00:46:41.000 turning these baby items into some kind of sexual joke. So this is according to Newsweek.
00:46:47.340 Frida, the parent company of Frida Baby and Frida Mom, because they've got baby products and mom
00:46:51.600 products, is facing widespread backlash and calls for boycotts after old social media posts and product
00:46:57.160 packaging featuring sexual innuendos went viral on social media last week. The controversy exploded
00:47:02.840 over a now-deleted post that promoted a rectal thermometer for babies captioned, this is like really
00:47:09.680 actually tough for me to read. This is the closest your husband's going to get to a threesome.
00:47:15.000 I just, you just have to wonder like what is going through the mind of someone that is
00:47:20.020 like creating the packaging and marketing for something that, you know, detects a fever in
00:47:24.840 your child and thinks threesome. It's just very strange. Then you also have this ear thermometer.
00:47:33.920 It's like an ear, forehead, touchless thermometer. And it says, how about a quickie? Now, I guess I'm just
00:47:40.100 not that observant. I probably wouldn't have noticed that, but that one in light of all of
00:47:44.140 the other ones is obviously a sexual joke. Um, even there, it looks like humidifier. I get turned
00:47:51.040 on easily. Another sexual joke. This one is like a nasal aspirator and it says I'm a power sucker.
00:47:58.860 I guess that's a sexual reference. Um, and then one that I found really disturbing and we cover up
00:48:05.900 the faces of children because I don't think children should be made content. You've got this
00:48:10.680 Frida baby Instagram post and it's referencing their snot sucker, which if you're not a parent,
00:48:18.140 like that alone is going to like really gross you out, but I won't even explain how it works. It's
00:48:24.380 just pulling the snot out of the child's nose. And this, I guess this child has some like mucus
00:48:31.200 on their face and Frida baby's caption is what happens when you pull out too early. Okay.
00:48:37.300 Really inappropriate. And people kind of dug up like who their marketing team was and put,
00:48:44.260 this is on their website, like put the names and the faces of these people who are in charge of
00:48:49.080 packaging, who are in charge of marketing, who are in charge of social media. And then Frida baby
00:48:54.080 ended up taking that page down. So obviously they realized there's some controversy there.
00:49:00.120 A lot of, I mean, it's not just men, it's men and women on this team, but it did seem like it was a
00:49:05.160 male team that was in charge of marketing, which I just think is odd. Like this is obviously a female
00:49:10.920 brand. I'm not saying that you can't hire men at all, but why would men know like what attracts a
00:49:18.400 woman to a particular product? I just, I just find that a little bit weird. And so this is unraveling
00:49:25.380 for them right now. Um, they have responded and they basically just said, you know what, like
00:49:32.420 what's funny to one person is not funny to another person, but they certainly didn't apologize.
00:49:38.440 Now this is their entire strategy. So how they're going to pivot. I'm not exactly sure.
00:49:44.800 I just don't understand when it became acceptable to use kids as fodder for sexual jokes, like
00:49:51.700 publicly, commercially to make money off of something like that. Once again, kids who can't
00:49:57.820 speak up for themselves and they're just perverts out there who love this kind of stuff. And it just
00:50:03.020 ends up like infesting people's brains and it changes how we talk about children and how we
00:50:11.020 think about this stuff. And I really just think it's glossing over one of the biggest evils in the
00:50:17.220 world, which is the sexualization objectification of children. And by the way, Christians for 2000
00:50:22.340 years have been the ones to stand up for that, stand up against that rather. And from the early
00:50:28.240 Roman empire to today to say, yeah, the child sacrifice and the child sexualization is going to
00:50:33.100 end now. And so we still have a responsibility to do that. And some, uh, some perspectives or some
00:50:40.040 passages come to mind. Proverbs 26, 18 through 19, like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows and
00:50:48.000 death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, I am only joking. Interesting. Luke 17 too.
00:50:55.000 It would be better for him. This is Jesus. If a millstone were hung around his neck and he were
00:51:00.180 cast into the sea, then that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Ephesians 5,
00:51:05.960 three through four, but sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named
00:51:12.120 among you as is proper among the saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk, nor crude joking,
00:51:17.420 which are out of place, but instead let there be Thanksgiving. So we really shouldn't have any level
00:51:23.960 of tolerance of this kind of stuff, which is really a bummer because some of their products are super
00:51:29.420 effective and it just wasn't necessary. I think they could have been very successful without this.
00:51:36.140 And unfortunately they've normalized something really wicked. All right, let's end on something
00:51:41.680 that is encouraging. Uh, let's end on, uh, Ben Sass who has been diagnosed with cancer and a stage four
00:51:52.720 pancreatic cancer. He described it as a death sentence. And so apparently it is definitely fatal,
00:51:58.520 but he is now going on several podcasts and he is just talking about his faith and talking about how
00:52:04.360 he is facing death with courage. And I just want to play you a clip. It's a little over a minute
00:52:08.220 and respond to it in just a second. Let me tell you about our last sponsor for the day. First
00:52:12.520 as America turns 250, we want to help good ranchers take a moment to remember the people who helped
00:52:18.820 build it. Not the ones in history books necessarily, but the ones who woke up before the sun season after
00:52:23.780 season without seeking any sort of applause. Those are America's ranchers and their farmers who
00:52:29.840 don't get the gratitude they need, but the way that we can support them, especially this year,
00:52:33.940 as we're celebrating America's big birthday is to buy all of our meat from American farms and ranches
00:52:39.320 rather than rewarding the foreign meat makers that are sending the cheap meat over here, probably
00:52:45.200 aren't feeding their cows. Well, like we want to make sure that we are honoring all of the hard work
00:52:50.020 of these family farms. That's why we get our meat from good ranchers. Plus it just makes your life
00:52:54.920 easier. It shows up in a box on dry ice on your front door every month. You don't have to worry
00:53:00.660 about picking meat out at the grocery store. They've got all different kinds of meat, seafood, chicken,
00:53:05.800 beef. They've got steak. They've got chicken nuggets. They've got bacon and it's all so good. I can tell you
00:53:14.100 personally that I love good ranchers meat. Go to good ranchers.com. Use code Allie. You'll get an extra
00:53:19.260 $25 off your first order. Go to ranchers.com. Code Allie.
00:53:27.860 So Ben Sass is a former senator for Nebraska, and he recently shared this really, what I thought was
00:53:35.200 maybe the most profound, succinct presentation of the gospel. On Wednesday, February 18th, he was on an
00:53:43.560 episode of the Sola Media podcast, and here's how he described just this incredible mystery and seeming
00:53:52.640 paradox of being this sinner, rebel, image bearer of God saved by Christ. Here's that too.
00:53:59.780 It's fun to talk to your kids and your nephews and nieces about how Jesus did everything on the
00:54:08.100 cross to fulfill the whole law. I fulfill none of it. He fulfilled all of it, and he took away all of
00:54:13.860 my sins. And I'm not just justified. I'm actually being made intrinsically righteous, though you can't
00:54:20.400 see it like so little fruit and buds, but it will be accomplished. And so the gospel is all of those
00:54:28.040 ordo salutis stuff. And we get to talk about what Jesus did for us positively and took away negatively and
00:54:36.520 what he's going to—we were saved on a cross tree outside Jerusalem, and we are being saved, and we will be
00:54:44.040 saved completely. But Genesis 3 and Romans 5, like, I am, in Adam, a member of this rebellious race. Imago Dei, we
00:54:53.460 were created glorious in God's image and meant for fellowship with him, and yet we're a part of this rebel clan of
00:55:00.980 everybody. And that's not the end of the story. The end of the story is the new Adam came from heaven,
00:55:07.020 laid down all of his prerogatives, and came and swept us up.
00:55:12.500 It's really hard to get through that, especially at the very end when he starts to tear up. And I just
00:55:17.940 love seeing a grown man broken by the beauty of the gospel. Like, that is a man who has studied his
00:55:24.440 Bible. That is a man who knows his theology. That is a man who is facing death with courage because he
00:55:29.880 knows Jesus, not because he is counting on his own righteousness, not because he's counting his
00:55:35.780 list of good deeds, not because he's looking at his record of public service, not because he's like,
00:55:40.520 wow, I accomplished a lot in life. Look at me. I was a senator. But because he knows his Savior,
00:55:46.460 and that is the only place, really, that any of us can have confidence. And he is showing the world how
00:55:52.580 to die well, and that takes a lot of bravery. 2 Corinthians 4, 16 through 18,
00:55:57.080 so we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed
00:56:01.700 day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory
00:56:06.720 beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen.
00:56:11.980 For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
00:56:16.720 Romans 5, 3 through 5, not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering
00:56:21.140 produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not put us to
00:56:26.980 shame because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been
00:56:32.740 given to us. So that's the hope that we have. We've got a lot of craziness, a lot of darkness going on
00:56:41.200 in the world, but death, especially imminent death, like the one Ben Sasse is facing, has a way of narrowing
00:56:48.400 your perspective and bringing to light the things that are most important. And all of this that we
00:56:56.520 talked about today is important, but I want us to remember that the most important thing that we can
00:57:04.940 do is share the gospel with those we know and love and disciple our kids in what is good, right, and true.
00:57:12.340 I just want you to know that is also a way to fight the culture war. It doesn't necessarily mean
00:57:18.520 running for office. It might mean starting a podcast, but it might just mean doing your job
00:57:24.140 as a mom, as a neighbor, as a citizen with total clarity and courage and boldness. God uses the
00:57:32.320 unseen and unsung work of believers throughout history to accomplish incredible feats. And I trust
00:57:39.840 that that's what God is going to do through all of our lives. And I hope to be an encouragement in
00:57:45.040 that for you. All right, that's all we've got time for today. We will be back here on Wednesday.
