00:00:00.000 A Fox News commentator announced the birth of his surrogacy-born child and the right
00:00:07.140 is embroiled in yet another debate about surrogacy and marriage.
00:00:12.880 I respond to all of this.
00:00:14.740 Also, there's a new trend to glamorize and glorify having children after you're 40.
00:00:21.320 Is this positive or is there something we should be wary about?
00:00:25.620 We've got all of this and much more on today's episode of Relatable.
00:00:30.000 hey guys welcome to relatable happy wednesday hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far
00:00:44.660 so the thing about the cadence of relatable three times a week with monday being theology focused
00:00:51.380 typically and wednesday being more news focused and friday being more of an evergreen interview
00:00:58.180 you, we're not always the first people to talk about the subject that is going on on X or that
00:01:05.840 you're seeing in the news. And here's why I actually prefer that setup. There's a lot of
00:01:12.480 anxiety, especially in the commentator space to be the first person to say something, to be the
00:01:19.300 first person to contribute their thought. And sometimes that hastiness can lead to less thoughtful
00:01:25.320 takes. Not always, but sometimes. And what I like is that the three times a week format that we have
00:01:32.300 of this show forces us, forces me to take a step back and to see the bigger picture and what is
00:01:39.340 true underneath the talking points. What is true underneath the discussion, the dialogue that's
00:01:44.700 going on. And sometimes things blow over. And the thing that I thought was really important
00:01:49.020 when it happened is just not as important as I thought, or the facts change. And I'm like,
00:01:54.580 gosh, I'm really glad that I didn't give my initial reaction on that. There's a lot of
00:01:59.520 self-control, I think, that plays into this job and really can benefit you once you realize that,
00:02:08.580 okay, I've got value to add to this conversation and it does not have to be immediate. What is
00:02:14.400 more important is that we bring substance and in my case, try to bring as much biblical clarity
00:02:20.000 to a topic as possible. When it comes to this particular subject of a right-wing pundit named
00:02:27.600 Guy Benson announcing the surrogacy birth of his new daughter, this is one that I want to take
00:02:36.560 special care in discussing. Not only because I appreciate Guy Benson and the insight that he has
00:02:43.080 added to political conversations over the years. He and I aren't close friends, but we have
00:02:47.900 interacted in the past and have been in some of the same circles in the past. Every interaction
00:02:53.160 that I've had with him has been completely pleasant. He seems like a very, very kind,
00:02:58.800 down-to-earth person, and he's added a lot of good things to the discussion and the discourse
00:03:04.340 over the years. A very sane, rational person as well when it comes to so many of the topics
00:03:10.100 at hand. But regardless of whether or not I am familiar with the people involved in this topic,
00:03:16.780 we are talking about a family. We are talking about children. We are talking about precious
00:03:23.280 babies made in the image of God, whose lives matter, whose soul matters. We are talking about
00:03:29.680 all people in this situation whom we care about simply because they are humans and we want what
00:03:39.840 is very best for them. So in me talking about this, I want to be sensitive without shying away
00:03:46.840 even a little bit from what is good and right and true. Because we are talking about people
00:03:52.280 that matter, because we are talking about the sanctity of life and the dignity of human beings
00:03:57.500 and the rights that children are entitled to, even when they don't have the voice to speak up
00:04:02.720 for themselves and have no political capital. I want to make sure, sure that I am kind, but also
00:04:11.240 that I am unrelentingly truthful because people speaking the truth in love when it comes to
00:04:17.620 surrogacy, when it comes to reproductive technology is the only thing that is going to make for a
00:04:24.940 better future in which all people, no matter how small, no matter how young, no matter their
00:04:30.200 location are regarded as full human beings who are entitled to rights. Yes, the right to life,
00:04:37.340 the right not to be tested on in a lab and then eugenically thrown away, but also I believe the
00:04:43.060 fundamental right to a mother and father. We've talked about this a lot on this show over the
00:04:48.860 years. This is not even close to the first conversation that we've had about surrogacy.
00:04:53.080 In fact, I credit some of the relate, uh, the, the conversations rather yes, the relationships
00:04:58.880 with the conversations that we had on Relatable more than five years ago with people like Katie
00:05:03.920 Faust and Jennifer Law for really changing the direction and moving the conservative movement
00:05:11.460 in the right direction when it comes to talking about things like surrogacy and IVF. Really things
00:05:17.520 that were not being discussed several years ago. When I first started talking about the dangers of
00:05:23.540 IVF and things like that. I got a lot of pushback, a lot of hate, a lot of, well, aren't you pro-life?
00:05:30.540 Shouldn't you be okay with all babies being born no matter what? You'll remember when Dave Rubin
00:05:35.920 announced that he and his partner were welcoming two children via surrogacy, that I did a video
00:05:43.740 talking about that, like how to navigate that as a Christian who again, likes the person who is
00:05:48.660 announcing this, but is doing something that I believe to be ethically wrong. Like how do we
00:05:54.420 speak the truth in love to that? And so I did that a few years ago. And I think it's important to do
00:05:59.860 to do that again today. Um, because when our emotions and when our affection for someone
00:06:07.700 or our respect for someone comes up against something that we know morally and biblically,
00:06:14.660 more importantly, is wrong, we have to know how to navigate that with both truth and love.
00:06:20.120 So I want to look at the dialogue online about this and how the right is really fractured when
00:06:27.860 it comes to these major issues, what it says about our worldviews, the clash of worldviews,
00:06:33.480 and how we as Christians can be a bastion of clarity in this world of chaos and confusion.
00:06:40.900 So we'll get to that in just a second. I do want to remind you,
00:06:43.960 speaking of a bastion of clarity and courage in an age of confusion and cowardice and chaos,
00:06:51.200 I want you to come to share the arrows. If you are a Christian woman, if you are a woman who is 0.94
00:06:55.740 like, you know what? I'm hearing about Christianity. I'm interested in it. I don't really know. Then
00:07:01.200 you need to come to share the arrows. It's Dallas, Texas, October 10th. We're going to be having an
00:07:06.380 apologetics teaching, a teaching session with Elisa Childers and Natasha Crane. We've got
00:07:11.780 Costi Hinn, our first ever Related Bros speaker. We've got two other Related Bros, Shane and Shane
00:07:17.020 leading worship. We've got Rosaria Butterfield. She will be back. She was here the first, uh,
00:07:22.080 the first year of the arrows, our very first speaker who came out on stage before she uttered
00:07:26.180 a word. She got a standing ovation. That's how loved she is. She'll be back. And then for the
00:07:30.380 first time, we've got Audrey Brogy and Grace Antle Castleberry talking about what it looks like
00:07:35.040 to be a biblical wife and mom. This is no fluff. This is not about emotions. This is not about
00:07:40.780 self-love. It's not a conference telling you how beautiful you are. This is a conference who
00:07:44.800 believes that women can handle the truth and need to be discipled and need to be equipped,
00:07:48.440 no matter what sphere you occupy, to go out and to share the gospel and to live in a way that
00:07:53.280 glorifies God. So if you want that and you want those lifelong friendships that come from Share
00:07:57.360 the Arrows, go to sharethearrows.com. Get your tickets today. You will not regret it. It's time

00:08:06.620 come by yourself to go to share the arrows.com that's share the arrows.com. And you know what,
00:08:13.440 I'll just go ahead and get the, I'll get the first, uh, ad done. And then we'll get into the,
00:08:19.020 the bulk of this conversation about surrogacy. My first sponsor is Jevity y'all. I love Jevity.
00:08:25.440 This is a sponsor, a company that I have used myself chief related bro. And I about, I think
00:08:32.000 it was gosh, a year ago, maybe a little bit less. Uh, we had the phlebotomist that Jevity sent out
00:08:38.480 come to us and to take our blood, which was like five seconds. It was painless. It was super
00:08:44.820 convenient, drew our blood and then sent the vials off where they were tested. And then the results,
00:08:50.300 uh, for those tests came through to our app just within days. And then suddenly I had a look into
00:08:59.000 everything that's really going on in my body. And not only that, there was a video uploaded
00:09:04.320 from a doctor that works with Javity that was about 30 minutes long that I listened to on a
00:09:09.240 walk that explained to me in very, very simple and clear terms what all of these results meant.
00:09:14.620 And not only that, but made recommendations for me for diet and exercise and supplements and
00:09:19.880 things like that to truly optimize my health. And now, you know, I'm pregnant with number four,
00:09:26.220 praise God. I'm so glad that before I got pregnant, I was taking my health seriously and I
00:09:31.680 had a really clear look at what was going on in my body and what I needed to make sure was top
00:09:37.060 notch before I even got pregnant. Go to gojevity.com slash Allie. Get started today. Invest 1.00

00:09:56.220 So the New York post shared an article about the announcement of Guy Benson's, uh, birth
00:10:04.240 of his daughter, his second child on July 20th.
00:10:07.120 He is a Fox news political analyst.
00:10:10.040 Um, and right away, there were a lot of responses, um, especially from people in our camp.
00:10:16.040 We've got a lot of evangelical conservatives who weighed in on this.
00:10:20.580 Andrew Walker, for example, a friend of the show, someone you guys should be following
00:10:25.500 means that designing family arrangements with the intentional deprivation of either maternal or
00:10:30.580 paternal love is a violation of natural justice. I don't care whether left or right does it,
00:10:36.020 it is still wrong and society should not incentivize or applaud these arrangements.
00:10:43.580 And of course, I believe that he is absolutely right about this. You've heard my spiel
00:10:48.760 on surrogacy a lot. But when we create these children, especially in this situation where
00:10:55.820 you are buying the eggs from one woman, you are renting the womb from another woman. So you're 1.00
00:11:00.080 taking a child away from their biological mother. You are placing them in an unrelated woman whose 0.98
00:11:08.620 smell and touch and heartbeats and body, they get to know, they call home for nine months, 0.88
00:11:15.360 and then you immediately take that child after birth away from the only home, the only smell,
00:11:22.320 the only regulator, the only woman they have ever known and away from the biological mom
00:11:28.900 with whom they share half of their DNA, we are treating that child worse than we treat kittens
00:11:35.880 and puppies. There are very strict restrictions around when you can actually adopt a puppy or
00:11:42.840 kitten. Why? Because we see the health benefits for these little animals and staying with their
00:11:50.040 mother for 8, 10, 12 weeks. It varies a little bit, but it's actually seen as cruel to immediately
00:11:57.960 take that kitten away from his mother. Why? Because we understand when it comes to animals
00:12:04.920 that there is a natural bond there, a natural mutual necessity that exists between the mother
00:12:13.540 and the baby that needs to be preserved, at least in those first few weeks when it comes to animals
00:12:21.200 for that animal to be able to grow, for them to be healthy. But for some reason,
00:12:26.940 when it comes to human babies who are much more fragile, who are much less resilient,
00:12:33.000 And of course, as Christians, we believe are made in God's image and so matter infinitely more
00:12:38.020 than a cat or a dog. We say, eh, it's probably fine. It's probably fine. Let's just see. Let's
00:12:44.340 just see if it's fine. Let's do a little social experiment. Take babies away from their mom,
00:12:49.660 from their gestator, place them in the hands of two men. Let's see what happens. 0.97
00:12:54.580 Now, why are we okay with the let's see what happens mentality when it comes to these babies?
00:12:59.380 because the social experiment that we are conducting on these unconsenting children
00:13:05.240 is satisfying the desires of adults. And that is ultimately what really matters more in our
00:13:12.260 society at large. If you want to look at abortion, if you want to look at our foster care system,
00:13:16.800 if you want to look at the reproductive industry, which rakes in so much money year after year,
00:13:23.440 it is the prioritization of adult wants over children's needs. And I understand the family
00:13:30.280 diversity theory that says, as long as a child is being raised in love, they will be fine.
00:13:34.880 Says who? Says who? I don't think that's true. I don't think that we can find the study that says,
00:13:43.620 oh, actually it's totally fine. Two, for the first time in history,
00:13:49.560 in the millennia that human beings have existed to purposely take a child away from the mother
00:13:57.620 and raise them by two men. There is no consequence to that psychologically, physically, emotionally, 0.68
00:14:06.880 spiritually. I don't think there's science to support that. And of course, there's no theology
00:14:12.100 to support it. It is disordered from the start, from the very beginning, from the moment of
00:14:18.420 conception, the egg selling, the sperm selling, the surrogacy using, which all by the way has
00:14:25.540 physical consequences for the child. It's much more risky for the embryo. It's much more risky
00:14:31.040 for a riskier for the baby as well. During conception, during transfer and implantation,
00:14:37.840 during gestation, by the way, all of these things create a high risk situation, even higher risk
00:14:44.320 situation for these little babies. But then of course you're creating this emotional and
00:14:50.040 psychological, physiological risk too. And we just say, well, it's probably fine.
00:14:57.580 The only reason that it's probably fine is because these little babies can't speak up for themselves
00:15:02.180 because they may not have the words right away to say, where's my mom. And yet how many times
00:15:08.800 if we played these videos where, um, you know, we, we just played one the other day on my social
00:15:15.020 media. And actually, if we can find it, I'll just go ahead and throw to it. But it's this dad saying,
00:15:21.040 now tell me why my child is calling us mama and is crying out for mama, even though he's been
00:15:28.620 raised by his two dads since birth. Here it is. My son has two dads. He has always just had two
00:15:34.800 that so can someone explain to me why whenever he's mad for us being doing something completely
00:15:41.840 horrible like changing his diapers brushing his teeth or just putting on clothes on him
00:15:47.980 why he screams mommy mommy mommy like why he never had a mom so how does he even know that
00:15:57.400 he should scream mom whenever he doesn't want anything is it from daycare i don't know
00:16:03.960 he must have learned that from some other kids right right okay this is not just a one-off
00:16:11.640 them before us led by katie faust chronicles these stories this is very common this is natural this
00:16:20.160 is instinctive. Somewhere deep inside, we want to know where we came from. We want our mom.
00:16:28.000 That does not mean that two men who are raising a child don't love their child. I think they do.
00:16:35.200 It doesn't mean that they are not good fathers in a variety of ways. I think they are. It means
00:16:41.760 that they're not a mom. You can be a really good dad, but you will never be a mom. As a mom of
00:16:48.360 four with the fourth on the way, like I can tell you, there's so many different scenarios
00:16:55.260 when our girls have needed me, me specifically as a mom, even the very seemingly simple
00:17:05.180 sentence of you're a girl, just like mommy. And when you grow up, you'll be like me,
00:17:13.460 you'll be a woman like me. And one day you might get married to a man like daddy and you might be
00:17:20.500 able to have a baby too. Just the ability to be able to relate. Oh, this is my mom. This is who
00:17:27.200 I could turn into one day. I mean, Mr. Rogers like had that whole song basically saying that
00:17:33.640 same thing because we used to understand that this fundamental orientation for boys and girls
00:17:40.420 to be able to see themselves in the future through their parents was important.
00:17:45.060 Now, it is different losing a parent by tragedy and losing a parent by deliberate arrangement.
00:17:51.920 Okay. It's the difference between losing a parent by death and losing a parent
00:17:59.780 because of some intentional choice of someone to take that parent away. Both are tragedies.
00:18:08.820 both are sad, both have effects, but in one, you feel this sense of betrayal that my mom sold me.
00:18:16.640 And the other woman who carried me, well, she also made tens of thousands of dollars from giving me
00:18:21.860 away. If you don't think that affects a child's psychology, you're fooling yourself. You're
00:18:26.680 fooling yourself because it's uncomfortable to think about. And that's what I want to push you
00:18:31.120 to do. Don't not think about the ethics of surrogacy and what we are doing to babies because
00:18:36.320 it's uncomfortable to think about. That means you care more about adult sexual whims than you do
00:18:43.100 the rights of children. And I'm telling you that's evil. It's evil. No matter how many times the world
00:18:48.620 tells you that's compassionate. Blaze host Steve Dace is one of many who pointed out that the
00:18:53.780 rights division on the issue is a really bad sign. If we can't win the argument within our own team
00:19:00.260 that kids should not be purposely denied a mom or dad, we have no chance to beat the other team.
00:19:05.280 And he's 100% right about that. Okay. If we're just looking pragmatically, not even getting
00:19:10.760 into the theology yet. If we're just looking pragmatically, like if we cannot say the most
00:19:17.520 basic truths that a dad can't become a mom, we've lost. Like what business do we have talking about
00:19:25.160 trans sports? If we basically believe the same thing that the left does, but just exchanging
00:19:32.740 the, uh, exchanging the buzzword for homosexuality. You know what I'm saying? Like, we don't believe
00:19:39.820 that a woman or a man can become a woman. We don't believe that a boy can become a girl. And so they 0.99
00:19:44.560 shouldn't play on the girls sports teams, but we do believe apparently that a husband can become a 0.99
00:19:50.520 wife. We do believe apparently that a dad can become a mom. That's the same math. Okay. Trans
00:19:57.400 women are women is the same math as love is love. They're both circular. They never define the term. 1.00
00:20:04.060 It doesn't actually mean anything. And when we say, oh, well, kids just need kids, just need
00:20:10.000 parents. You are saying that men and women are interchangeable. So what logic do you have behind
00:20:18.920 saying men shouldn't be in women's sports? You've just said in this other sense, when it comes to
00:20:23.320 so-called gay marriage or surrogacy that men and women are interchangeable. So is a woman
00:20:29.660 actually a woman? Is she biologically defined and necessary or not? 0.99
00:20:36.600 That's what the right has to decide. That is so fundamental. That is so basic to our
00:20:42.240 understanding of reality. Actually, our understanding of those truths is why any of us
00:20:47.900 are here. Surprise. Like all humans around the world are here. All humans who have existed since
00:20:55.600 the beginning of time are here because we understand that, that a man can't be a woman,
00:21:00.400 that a mom can't be a dad. You got to have those two to tango. Even people who say, I saw, you know,
00:21:07.340 a famous couple, two men use a surrogate to have their child, an egg seller to have their child
00:21:14.120 say outright, and I've seen this sentiment over and over again, our kids don't have a mom.
00:21:18.860 Our kids don't have a mom. They have two dads. They have an egg seller. They have a surrogate.
00:21:22.340 They don't have a mom. Every child has a mom. Every single child, every single person on the
00:21:28.280 planet that has ever lived has a mom and a dad and surrogacy, egg selling and sperm selling 0.87
00:21:34.520 robs them of that. Plain and simple. Okay. You can use your euphemisms to say that that is not true. 0.97
00:21:41.620 it is true it is true Megan Basham she lent her opinion which I agree with she said Benson is an
00:21:51.560 incisive pundit 100 true but there is nothing conservative about deliberately creating
00:21:56.980 motherless children I pray Benson and those like him on the right would consider what they're
00:22:00.520 telling the world about how unnecessary they believe mothers or if we're talking about two
00:22:04.480 women fathers are to the needs of children because that is what they're declaring when they create
00:22:09.860 these children through the surrogacy process that mothers and fathers serve no specific purpose 0.99
00:22:15.580 now kennedy montgomery she's another fox news host she was also the officiant uh for uh guy 0.97
00:22:23.040 vinson and his partner's wedding said this in response to megan now the intellectualism of
00:22:29.420 this is about to blow your mind i mean it is such a substantive argument that you might like i don't
00:22:36.200 know i don't know if you didn't go to yale get your phd you probably won't be able to follow
00:22:41.300 this okay so us simpletons we're gonna we're gonna do our best okay are you ready here's what kennedy
00:22:49.480 said to megan's thoughtful post she said bless your heart megan while you're at it go replace
00:22:54.360 the batteries in your vibrator oh by golly i'm i'm i'm i didn't realize how wrong i was
00:23:03.080 thank you so much you know what kids don't have a right to a mom and a dad anymore
00:23:07.680 it is perfectly fine to take a newborn away from their mother and to make sure that they don't get
00:23:13.100 the skin to skin that's necessary for them to regulate their heartbeat and temperature that's 1.00
00:23:17.280 fine it is fine because kennedy she decided to go into like the liberal woman comedian sex slop 1.00
00:23:26.280 of female secular comedy and go that route all right well a lot of people thankfully piled on 0.99
00:23:34.420 kennedy and was like that was totally unnecessary that was not like not a worthy response megan
00:23:40.320 responded to her with something very kind and thoughtful which of course is exactly what i
00:23:45.780 expect megan to do just completely uncalled for okay you disagree i understand you disagree
00:23:51.740 okay like let's hear the argument or just don't give your argument at all that didn't even make
00:23:58.120 any sense okay that's like you're emotionally lashing out and that doesn't look good okay
00:24:04.320 um george santos i guess he's someone who used to be a republican congressman he also identifies
00:24:10.320 as gay he said i'm no guy benson fan um but megan go step on grass those like him on the right you 0.94
00:24:17.900 mean the rare common sense gay man are you trying to push us out and go back to the bush days 0.98
00:24:22.780 you know the days republicans were content with losing he's going to raise his daughter with his
00:24:28.140 partner i guarantee you she will be well taken care of and turn out just fine there are plenty
00:24:34.280 of motherless and fatherless kids in the world as long as they're raised with love that's all
00:24:37.700 that really matters that please stat please because we have a lot of stats on fatherlessness
00:24:44.320 in America. And actually, it really does greatly affect kids negatively. We don't have as many
00:24:50.240 stats on motherlessness because it's a historical aberration. Because fathers, unfortunately,
00:24:55.540 derelict dads have been leaving their families in some cases for generations and generations.
00:25:01.320 Moms very rarely do that. So we don't have a lot of historical data on that. We have a ton
00:25:05.600 of historical data on what happens when kids grow up without a dad and it's not good.
00:25:10.100 you've got rising uh rising likelihood of delinquency of eating disorders of sexual
00:25:16.440 promiscuity of all different kinds of mental health issues anxiety depression could it be
00:25:23.360 because robbing a child of their mother or father isn't good for them could it be that god knew what
00:25:28.980 he was doing when he created our bodies when he created the family when he made us male and female
00:25:35.100 now he says he's going to raise his daughter and i guarantee you she'll be well taken care of i've
00:25:39.640 no doubt about that. I have no doubt that she will be well taken care of. That's, that's not
00:25:45.260 my concern. My, my thoughts about their niceness and their desire and intent to raise their
00:25:52.440 children well is totally unaffected. Like I believe those things about them. It's just that
00:25:59.220 they're not moms and neither of them can be. And moms and dads aren't interchangeable
00:26:06.240 because men and women are interchangeable. Let's talk a little bit more about this myth
00:26:13.420 of family diversity, that love raises a child, and that's all that's needed. You could have
00:26:19.820 three dads. You could have five moms and two dads. You could be raised by wolves, but as long
00:26:26.160 as you are loved, as long as you are cared for, then you turn out just fine. Is that actually
00:26:30.980 true? We'll look into it in just a second. Let me pause. Let me tell you about our next sponsor,
00:26:35.120 and that is Cozy Earth. Y'all, I love Cozy Earth. We just got a new product from Cozy Earth. We got
00:26:41.720 some beach towels that are so fun. They come in all different kinds of awesome colors. And just

00:26:50.800 perfect texture to actually get you dry, but they're also luxurious and soft somehow. Cozy
00:26:56.780 Earth always pulls that off. They make things like really practical so that you actually want
00:27:01.940 to use them, but they also feel amazing. That's true about their sheets. That's true about their
00:27:06.780 incredible luxurious blankets. It's true about their loungewear, their pajamas. I seriously love

00:27:31.940 Brad Wilcox. We've had him on the show a couple of times. He is the director of the National
00:27:38.500 Marriage Project and a fellow at the Institute for Family Studies at the University of Virginia.
00:27:44.660 He calls this the family diversity myth, what we just outlined, the idea that love makes a family
00:27:51.300 and kids are just as well off as long as they have someone in their life who is loosely associated
00:27:57.260 with them who loves them. His 2024 study actually found that when young men specifically are raised
00:28:04.800 by two married biological parents, that's key there, they are 20% more likely to graduate
00:28:10.740 college than to end up in prison or jail. Not 2%, 20%. So biological parents. Also, if we look at
00:28:20.860 a 2012 University of Texas study that surveyed over 15,000 young adults, it found that compared
00:28:27.060 to those raised by stably married biological parents. Okay. That's only ever can be a mom and
00:28:33.200 dad. Um, individuals raised by lesbian mothers differed on 25 of 40 outcomes, 63%. And those 0.94
00:28:40.240 raised by gay fathers differed on 11, 28% with disadvantages, including higher depression,
00:28:45.940 lower health and income, more unemployment, public assistance, sexual abuse, and relationship
00:28:51.440 instability. Now you might say, oh, well, that could be because of discrimination. That could
00:28:58.120 be because of poverty and different things. Doesn't look like it. And actually gay men have
00:29:04.980 the highest income trajectory typically because they are two hardworking men very often with two
00:29:11.400 full-time careers. And so there seems to be something special about being raised by your
00:29:19.500 mother and father. A study published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry
00:29:25.280 that measured the psychological adjustment of children from different family types found that
00:29:29.800 the surrogate-born children had higher levels of adjustment-level difficulties than other children,
00:29:35.860 which of course makes sense. Now, I always get questions in the middle of this. Well, 0.53
00:29:40.160 okay, what about children who were adopted? Because children who were adopted are typically
00:29:44.880 taken away from their mother right at birth. Children who were adopted typically have some
00:29:49.480 kind of like trauma during gestation or the mother was going through trauma during gestation.
00:29:55.780 And obviously they're not being raised by their biological mom and dad. And so people will accuse
00:30:01.020 me of being anti-adoption. I am very pro-adoption. I think adoption is beautifully redemptive. And
00:30:07.340 that is the key there is that adoption redeems an already broken situation. Whereas surrogacy,
00:30:14.340 egg selling, sperm selling creates that broken situation. Okay. So broken situation already
00:30:19.920 exists. We've got a pregnant mother. She feels that she can't raise her child on her own. Okay. 1.00
00:30:25.960 Still the ideal for that child that she is pregnant with would be to be raised by his 0.93
00:30:32.680 biological mom and biological dad married in the same home. If those two parents could do that, 0.88
00:30:40.420 but because the mother feels that they can't, the next best option, it's not the ideal.
00:30:47.160 The next best option is to be adopted by a loving mom and dad. Okay. So we have redeemed
00:30:54.240 a broken situation. We live in a fallen world. That means there will be orphans. There will be
00:30:58.600 foster care. There will be abandonment. There will be the necessity of adoption. I think that
00:31:03.340 adoption is a beautiful picture of the gospel. Okay. Redeems that broken situation.
00:31:08.320 But if you are selling your DNA to create a child that you are purposely not going to raise,
00:31:14.180 if you are selling your eggs, selling your sperm, if you are selling your body, basically a 0.87
00:31:21.120 prostitute for tens of thousands of dollars to just date a child that you are not going to raise 0.99
00:31:27.860 and care for. Also abandonment. You are creating that broken situation. And then if you are the
00:31:33.920 people over here who are paying for that. You're paying for basically the prostitutes, the people 0.95
00:31:38.680 selling their eggs, selling their sperm, selling their body for money to create your child. You 0.99
00:31:43.660 are also creating that broken situation. Create the broken situation versus redeem the broken
00:31:49.200 situation. That is the difference. Now, both kids born via surrogacy and kids who are adopted can
00:31:56.140 go through similar effects of that primal wound simply because the ideal in those situations was
00:32:03.440 not met, but ethically the intent behind it is not the same. I always tell that story and I'll
00:32:10.060 tell a very shortened version of when my oldest was born and she was having breathing struggles
00:32:14.760 and they wanted to take her to the NICU and I begged them to put her on my chest. They put her
00:32:19.120 on my chest. And then before they took her to the NICU, they tested her breath one more time.
00:32:22.980 It was perfect. And in that case, I know this is not in all emergency cases, but in that case,
00:32:28.120 what she needed to regulate her breathing was her mom, was me, my heartbeat, my warmth,
00:32:34.500 the only person she had ever known. And I just wonder, I just wonder how often that is true
00:32:41.760 for all babies who are born, but especially these babies who are being purposely robbed of that
00:32:48.420 from the earliest age. More and more Republican voters actually seem to be, and conservatives
00:32:56.480 actually seem to be realizing, okay, this is not as innocuous as we thought. If you go back a few
00:33:02.420 years to when Dave Rubin announced this, I would say there was just a minority of people, even on
00:33:08.320 the right, saying, I just don't think I can say congratulations. I just don't think I can go along
00:33:15.060 and celebrate this. I was heavily criticized, lambasted for that at the time, by the way,
00:33:21.020 by some people who now are like calling this out and condemning this, some of those same people
00:33:27.620 criticized me publicly for very graciously, I might add, and patiently wading into those waters
00:33:34.600 and saying a controversial truth about the ethics of surrogacy. But nevertheless, I am very glad
00:33:41.400 that the opinion is changing on this. A 2025 Gallup poll showed that support for same-sex
00:33:46.180 marriage so-called was on the decline for Republican voters down to 41% from 55% in
00:33:54.100 2021 to 2022. Okay. A matter of three years drops 14%. Wow. On something that I think
00:34:01.340 in like 2016, everyone thought was a given forever. When asked whether same-sex marriage
00:34:07.120 was morally acceptable, 38% said yes, that's on the Republican side. Okay. Um, a national 0.99
00:34:14.040 polling from the greater than campaign that's katie faust campaign released in june 2026 show
00:34:19.960 that 96 of conservative and moderate voters believe that it's important for children to be
00:34:24.260 raised with both an involved father and mother 78 children's needs should come before adult
00:34:31.020 desires while the 78 is way too low that's crazy but 96 uh conservative and moderate okay so we're
00:34:39.300 not just talking about far-right people. People accuse me of being far-right. No, 96% of conservative
00:34:44.400 and moderate voters believe that you should be raised with mom and dad. We can agree with gay 1.00
00:34:50.980 conservatives on a lot of issues and be glad that they are anti-woke in many respects. And I will 1.00
00:34:56.080 continue to. I will continue to be thankful for that. That does not mean that I have to compromise
00:35:01.280 on this. And I won't. I won't because I actually find this more important than almost every other
00:35:06.560 issue out there. Not every issue. I mean, like, obviously I want to link arms with people no
00:35:12.020 matter what sheer sexuality is on things like abortion, on things like immigration. All of
00:35:16.620 those things are really important. But this is right out there with abortion because we're still
00:35:20.400 talking about the sanctity of life and the rights of babies. What are they? Do they exist? Or do
00:35:26.480 babies exist just as social experiments for adults who want to fulfill their wants? If we can't
00:35:32.480 answer that on the right, then we've got a big problem because it really does go back to like,
00:35:38.440 what is conservatism? What are we conserving? And if we are not conserving the family,
00:35:44.400 which is the building block of every flourishing and free society, and we are redefining marriage
00:35:50.220 to be something other than what it biologically and biblically is, well, then we're on very shaky
00:35:56.060 grounds because if marriage can be redefined as between two men or between two women, again,
00:36:03.320 another historical aberration, it wasn't like that in any society for millennia, then why can't it be
00:36:09.580 three people? Why can't it be five people? Why can't it be 500 people? And you tell me, does a
00:36:14.600 five-person union in which at least three of those people are unrelated to the child, does that seem
00:36:24.600 of like a safe and stable situation for a child. We actually know that the most likely abuser in
00:36:34.160 a child's life is the unrelated male that lives inside the home. Now, does that mean every
00:36:39.880 stepfather or every unrelated male living inside the home is going to be an abuser? No, not even
00:36:43.700 close. It's not what that's saying. That's just statistically true. That that child is statistically
00:36:49.100 far more likely to be abused when an unrelated male is living inside his or her home. And so
00:36:55.980 when we redefine marriage to make that more likely, you are putting children at risk.
00:37:02.500 And if you're like, that's a slippery slope fallacy, the slope has slipped. It's slipped
00:37:07.140 way past where evangelicals thought it would slip back in 2015 when we warned about the effects of
00:37:12.680 Obergefell. Like, I wouldn't have thought that polyamory and poly relationships would be something
00:37:19.920 that we were seriously discussing. I would have laughed in your face. I would have thought that
00:37:23.760 you were reading from a passage from some far left dystopian novel. Or if you showed me a picture
00:37:30.380 of someone, of one of these men walking into a woman's dressing room, and you told me that I 0.72
00:37:36.320 would be lambasted for not calling him she, I would have laughed. I would have thought this is 0.89
00:37:40.880 a Chris Farley skit that you were reviving and you were trying to tell me that this is serious.
00:37:47.180 So the slope has slipped. You can't tell us it's a slippery slope anymore. Like we've slid way past
00:37:52.640 where we thought that we would. You know, I heard something the other day in a sermon
00:37:56.260 and I couldn't believe it. So PCUSA, that is the Presbyterian Church of the United States.
00:38:04.920 Um, they are the liberal, they're the liberal wing of Presbytery. PCA is more conservative. PCUSA
00:38:13.920 is, um, is more liberal. The PCUSA, okay, is currently debating, according to religion news
00:38:22.360 service, it stands on polyamory after a proposed rule requiring clergy, clergy to be strictly
00:38:30.220 monogamous was referred to a broader study on human relationships and sexuality. Okay. So they
00:38:36.700 were taking a vote on like, okay, how are we going to be, how are we going to define marriage
00:38:41.080 and holy matrimony for our clergy? Because they had already consented or they already assented to
00:38:46.800 the redefinition of marriage that could be between two men or two women. And so now, of course, as it 0.52
00:38:52.440 goes, because that slope is so slippery, you had clergy inside the PCUSA saying, well, like maybe
00:38:58.200 it's not just two men. What if it's, what if it's three men? What if it's five? What if it's a
00:39:03.900 polycule? They didn't bring it to a vote. They were going to bring it to a vote. They decided
00:39:09.960 to defer the vote for further study. Okay. The denomination's official governing documents do
00:39:16.940 not explicitly mention polyamory leaving room for active internal debate and grassroots discussion.
00:39:23.700 Okay. That is an article from June 4th, 2026. So that is exactly the consequence of refusing
00:39:32.820 to define marriage as it biologically is, as it biblically is. Okay. That's what happens when you
00:39:38.040 deny Genesis 127. Okay. You skip right to Romans one. Everything becomes acceptable. You become
00:39:45.000 foolish because on what basis is marriage only between two people? Once you start self-defining 1.00
00:39:52.720 anything's based on adult whims, anything goes, children suffer. That's the point.
00:39:59.040 That is the point. All right. We've got more on this in just a second. Let me pause,
00:40:04.520 tell you about our next sponsor, CrowdHealth. If you're ready to opt out of health insurance,
00:40:08.660 if it's just too much, too complicated, causing you to feel sicker than you already are,
00:40:14.300 you want an alternative, then you should try what we use. And that is CrowdHealth. I have
00:40:19.720 seeing how the health insurance industry just doesn't seem built to actually take care of
00:40:24.160 families. It's so complicated and expensive, especially when you really need care. That's
00:40:30.300 why I love what Crown Health is doing. They put care back in health care with a community-focused
00:40:34.100 low-cost alternative. I signed up. I've been experiencing how empowering it is to have real

00:41:14.760 code Allie.
00:41:18.340 there's this other story that was circulating about an egg seller the exchange that she had
00:41:28.240 with her 19 year old biological child went viral because this woman who sold her eggs almost 20
00:41:35.400 years ago she wanted validation that she had responded correctly to this young person who
00:41:42.320 reached, reached out to her. So she posted this on Tik TOK. First, the message, it looks like maybe
00:41:50.020 a Facebook message, social media message that a 19 year old that was apparently conceived from her
00:41:56.780 sold egg sent her, um, and said, uh, said this, I don't mean to be a bother, but I think you may
00:42:04.440 be my biological mother. My mom revealed this info to me. And I was wondering if you wanted
00:42:08.680 to do a DNA test and possibly get to know me and build a relationship as your daughter. I think I
00:42:13.680 look so much like you. I've always felt empty and disconnected from my mom and didn't know why.
00:42:19.660 So this person seems to have been raised by a mom and a dad and yet desperately wanted to know
00:42:25.140 where do I come from? Okay, so love wasn't enough. We hear a lot, oh, people who are
00:42:31.600 born via egg and sperm selling, like they get the comfort knowing that they were paid for.
00:42:36.800 They were wanted so much. They were perfectly planned. It's not enough. We want to know whose
00:42:42.240 am I? Where do I come from? Okay. The egg seller said this in response. Hi, I'm going to be very
00:42:49.680 direct with you. This is a major breach of privacy. Egg donation is confidential, anonymous
00:42:54.360 business transaction. I signed my parental rights away 19 years ago. I am not your mother and I do
00:43:02.420 not have the space or desire to build a relationship with a stranger, please contact the
00:43:06.780 clinic or agency your parents used. And please do not contact me again. How rude, how incredibly
00:43:15.880 heartless and callous do you have to be this person, obviously searching for meaning, searching
00:43:21.600 for love, searching for connection, and you get hit with your business transaction. Don't contact
00:43:28.020 to me. Okay. By the way, if you are truly donating something, it's not a business transaction.
00:43:34.880 That's why egg donor, sperm donor is a misnomer. You are getting tens of thousands of dollars in
00:43:40.020 some cases for your eggs and for your sperm. It's only called donor because that's the legal
00:43:45.760 workaround because you're not actually supposed to be able to sell human DNA. So you say that,
00:43:51.920 you're paying me for my time. We all know the truth. I mean, it's selling children.
00:43:57.000 um so posted this and uh oh posted this video we'll play it top three i think it's pretty
00:44:04.060 creepy because not only is egg donation supposed to be anonymous i'm not your mom you know i can
00:44:13.440 see if i had this baby and i put her up for adoption you know but that's not what i did
00:44:18.780 i sold my eggs i signed my rights away i got my check and i went on about my life
00:44:24.540 why the hell are you contacting me right now okay so that's the video that she had posted in her
00:44:33.060 voiceover there i mean it is though like you like gave your child up for adoption so a lot
00:44:39.980 of commenters criticized her for how harsh she was and so she said in a follow-up video that
00:44:45.300 while she still doesn't want to be the young woman's mother she's willing to have a conversation
00:44:49.480 um and she said this now this is after backlash okay remember what she initially said okay after
00:44:57.280 backlash and after people didn't say you go girl yes queen that was so awesome what you just said
00:45:03.400 to your biological mom she said okay okay okay she did a little cya and she said i've spent the
00:45:09.380 last 24 hours thinking about your message my initial response was defensive because i wasn't
00:45:13.700 prepared for this and I'm sorry if it came off as cold. It was cold, ice cold, frigid. I'm not in a
00:45:19.780 place to be a mother to you, but I do understand that you're looking for answers and I'm open to
00:45:23.500 a phone conversation so we can both be heard. Let me know if you're still open to that. If you are,
00:45:27.580 I will send you my number. We can go from there. That would have been a great initial response,
00:45:32.160 a great initial response. Okay. Remember what we said in the beginning about self-control,
00:45:36.020 not responding to things right away. Um, and then the response is, you can just tell this
00:45:41.460 person is so young. Hi, OMG. Yes, I would love that. Thank you. At first, my feelings were hurt,
00:45:46.700 but then I talked to my mom and understood. Now, thank you for reaching back out. Poor thing.
00:45:53.680 I mean, she still had to hear, I'm guessing this is she, still had to hear that she was a business 1.00
00:45:58.060 transaction and that this woman signed her rights away. Again, you can just see how in these cases,
00:46:04.260 the adult desires trumped this child's needs. And these are the ethical quandaries that you
00:46:12.980 opt into, that you place without consent your child into when you have this ends justify the
00:46:20.800 means for all reproduction, ends justify the means mentality. For the Christian, none of this really 0.89
00:46:28.940 should be confusing. Okay. Shouldn't sell humans. You shouldn't buy humans. You shouldn't sell your
00:46:36.300 DNA. You shouldn't buy human DNA. If you are set on having a child, like if you feel that God is
00:46:43.500 calling you to have a child, I promise you, he is not calling you to unethical means to have that
00:46:49.800 child. Our desire for something does not justify any means necessary to fulfill that desire.
00:46:56.700 That's not what Psalm 37.4 means, that delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the
00:47:03.800 desires of your heart. He's not going to call you to sin. He's not going to call you to place
00:47:08.920 the wants that you have above the needs of your child. He's not going to, okay? There are thousands
00:47:16.440 of kids who need adoption. There are thousands of kids who need love. Maybe it's not through
00:47:20.620 adoption. Maybe it's through volunteer opportunities. I think we are all called to
00:47:24.460 love and nurture children in some way, whether or not you are a parent, but you are risking a lot
00:47:33.100 emotionally, spiritually, physiologically, mentally for your child when you say, I don't care how they
00:47:40.680 were conceived, how they were gestated, how they were made. I just want to be a parent no matter
00:47:44.860 what. It's selfish. That's not the right way to start out your parenting endeavor because parenting
00:47:49.940 is about sacrificing what you want on behalf of your children. Okay. So while the world says that
00:47:55.580 this is love, and this is the consequence of defining love as love, that means love can be
00:48:00.280 anything. It can literally just mean the fulfillment of your wants. Christians know better
00:48:05.080 because first John four, eight tells us that God is love. God is love. He created it. He's the
00:48:12.520 source of it. He gets to define it. He defines it. And first Corinthians 13 is so many things.
00:48:17.280 love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy or boast. It does not insist on its own way.
00:48:26.340 It never rejoices in wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love is not love. God is love.
00:48:33.460 God defines love. 1 Corinthians 13, he defines it so beautifully, so clearly. Okay? So if the
00:48:40.020 love doesn't look like that. It's not love. It's something, it's desire, but it's not love.
00:48:47.960 And if Christians are about anything, it's about that, right? If we're going to allow the world 0.86
00:48:53.300 to define parenting, the world to define mom and dad, the world to define marriage and the world
00:48:59.380 to define love. And we as Christians are not willing to speak up and say, no, no, no, the God
00:49:05.200 who created you, he's the one who gets to define these things. What are we even doing?
00:49:10.020 what are we doing? You know, like really, is this what the martyrs died for? Like for us to be weak
00:49:17.560 and cowardly about these basic things. If you can't even stand up for Genesis 127, which is
00:49:23.040 biologically obvious, even pagans do that throughout history. Are you really going to
00:49:29.060 stand for John 14, 6, that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life? No one comes to the father except
00:49:34.360 through him? Doubt it. It's much more controversial. Now, remember John the Baptist, he was beheaded
00:49:40.680 not for, um, not for hearkening the arrival of the Messiah, but for calling out a sinful marriage
00:49:47.060 between Herod and Herodias. Okay. So Christians are called to do both. Christians are persecuted
00:49:52.240 for doing both, but marriage really matters. It mattered so much that John the Baptist gave his
00:49:57.700 life for it. Don't be duped into thinking that Christian love just means tolerating sin at the
00:50:05.940 expense of children. Ephesians 4.15, rather speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up
00:50:11.700 in every way into him who is the head into Christ. Galatians 6.1, brothers, if anyone is caught in
00:50:17.360 any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch
00:50:23.260 on yourself, lest you too be tempted. First Peter 3 15, but in your hearts, honor Christ the Lord is
00:50:30.140 holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that
00:50:34.620 is in you. Yet do it with gentleness and respect. Yet do it with gentleness and respect. That means
00:50:42.380 you do it. You don't sacrifice the doing it of telling the truth, but you do it with gentleness
00:50:48.680 and respect, knowing that no matter how gentle and respectful you are, there will still be people
00:50:52.220 who call you cruel and mean and bigoted. And that's okay. Because in our hearts, we are honoring
00:50:57.000 Christ, the Lord as holy. All right. We've got a couple more things to talk about. Let me pause,
00:51:03.060 tell you about our next sponsor. It is Every Life. Every Life is an amazing pro-life diaper

00:51:49.460 okay i want to stay on the subject of pregnancy i was sent this article again a couple weeks ago
00:52:01.440 just now getting to it and i've been thinking about it and how to like what i what i think
00:52:06.880 about this and this is the pregnancy after 40 trend that is actually being glamorized somewhat
00:52:12.380 by social media and by hollywood and the question is why because i think we generally live in an
00:52:18.560 antinatalist society that sees babies as burdens or as things to just attain, use as accessories,
00:52:26.240 show on social media, things like that. And so why is someone like Anne Hathaway, who is in her 40s,
00:52:32.300 she's 43, she's having a baby, why are people just fawning over her? I understand why someone like
00:52:38.120 me would. She's gorgeous. Let me just show you her in this periwinkle dress. First, I think that
00:52:45.960 she's an autumn. Let me just say that. And I think even though it's not an official autumn color,
00:52:51.040 I think periwinkle on an autumn looks amazing. She looks incredible. So beautiful. I love this
00:52:58.220 dress on her. She's a beautiful pregnant woman. I am so happy for her. Um, and I'm so glad that 0.62
00:53:04.820 she is on social media. She's on the red carpet showing that you can do all of these things. You
00:53:09.380 can have a baby. I also love that she is showing like, you don't have to stop having a baby when
00:53:15.140 you're 35, just because they call you geriatric or whatever it is, you can keep having a baby and
00:53:21.680 it's beautiful. It doesn't ruin your life. So I think that's great. But there is something that
00:53:28.000 I think is interesting about this to know. So the Wall Street Journal published an article
00:53:32.400 on July 13th titled, Your 40s Used to Be Middle-Aged, Not Anymore, featuring this glamorous
00:53:37.000 photo that we already showed of Anne Hathaway. The article points to Hathaway as well as Natalie
00:53:43.000 Portman, who is 45, who is expecting her third. I did not know that as examples of the cultural
00:53:48.800 shift when it comes to maternal age. Did you know that they don't call post-35 pregnancies
00:53:55.600 geriatric anymore? They actually call it advanced maternal age. But here's the thing. Here's the
00:54:02.400 thing. While I am happy about all the things that I listed, and I'm happy about the contribution of
00:54:10.200 another image bearer of God to the world. And I think motherhood is fantastic.
00:54:15.480 The risks have not actually changed in association with pregnancy after 40. Am I saying that you
00:54:23.660 shouldn't do it if you are a married woman? No. But just because we changed the name because 0.99
00:54:29.180 geriatric was offensive doesn't mean that the risks don't exist. It is much more difficult to
00:54:35.100 get pregnant after 35 and especially after 40 the risks to you the baby do increase after that
00:54:42.640 here is what i'm just a little bit afraid of when it comes to the when it comes to the
00:54:49.840 um advertisement of this and perhaps one of the reasons even why it is being circulated and why
00:54:58.260 it is being unconditionally lauded even in circles where you wouldn't think it would be
00:55:03.060 because it is pushing this idea that you can party through your 20s, chase your career through
00:55:11.340 your 30s, choose to settle down when you are 38, and you will be just as likely to get married and
00:55:20.280 have children and be a trad wife when you are 45 as if you did it when you were 25. And that is not 0.53
00:55:30.880 statistically true. I just don't want to sell women this unrealistic vision of what their life 0.99
00:55:40.000 will absolutely look like if they defer marriage for promiscuity and for their career to be a girl 0.99
00:55:48.480 boss forever and ever until they have finally expended all of their options. They've gotten 0.75
00:55:53.580 all of the promotions that they want to get, and then they'll just be able to snap their fingers 1.00
00:55:58.380 and look like Anne Hathaway in a matter of a few months. It's just not likely. Is it possible? Yes,
00:56:05.180 the Lord can do anything. I know lots of women who got married in their thirties and had kids in 1.00
00:56:09.620 their late thirties and early forties. I am not knocking that as a rule. God can absolutely do 0.98
00:56:14.760 anything. I just don't want young women to get the wrong impression. You should not think that 0.99
00:56:21.240 as a rule, you've got 20 more years to spend not pursuing marriage or not wanting marriage or not
00:56:28.300 settling down. Probably not. You probably don't have that long. The biological clock is something
00:56:35.360 that is real. And I think it's okay to reckon with that. I don't think it's rude. I don't think that
00:56:42.500 it is limiting God by any means. I think it's just realizing God created us a certain way.
00:56:47.740 We have a certain window of fertility. There is a time within that window in which getting pregnant
00:56:53.920 is most likely, if you want to get married and have children, it makes sense as far as it depends
00:57:00.000 on you to try to get married and have children during that window, as far as it depends on you.
00:57:07.520 So I don't have a problem, obviously, with women getting pregnant later in life. I have a problem 1.00
00:57:13.420 with us presenting that as if it is something, as if it is the ideal. Bridget Phetasy, we've had her
00:57:21.340 on the show. Um, she is a comedian, a podcaster. She said this in response to the wall street
00:57:27.000 journal article that really just talks about how, um, you know, how, how different it is and how
00:57:33.640 acceptable it is now for people like Kim Kardashian and Serena Williams to all have children in their
00:57:37.680 forties. Bridget says I got pregnant at 43. I am very clear when I tell my story that I'm
00:57:43.740 exceptionally lucky. I heard once that something like one out of six women who wants to have kids 0.96
00:57:49.600 after 35 can't. I would have had five kids had I started young. Okay. So according to the CDC, 0.99
00:58:00.820 um, analyzing the years, 1990 to 2023, it shows that births to women 40 and older have increased
00:58:08.060 by 193%. I don't think that is a good statistic. I think that that is actually not a sign of women
00:58:16.260 extending their fertile years and saying, Hey, I trust God to give me five more kids in my forties. 1.00
00:58:21.980 That would be one thing. I think it's people deferring responsibility. I think it's people
00:58:27.000 putting off marriage until they have checked all of their boxes. Now, some women, you don't, 1.00
00:58:32.540 you, you can't help it. You know, that's the guy's going to pursue you when he's going to pursue you. 1.00
00:58:36.820 And you wanted to get married earlier and you didn't again, different situation. But if you
00:58:41.480 want to get married, your choices should align with that. If you want to get, have kids, your
00:58:45.240 choices should align with that. Don't put yourself in a situation if you can help it where you're 42
00:58:49.740 and having, having quote unquote, to rely on IVF to have kids because you were sold the lie
00:58:54.980 that you can easily get pregnant with when you're 42. Can't easily get pregnant when you're 42.
00:59:00.620 Probably not. Um, there was this really sad story in the New York post and the headline was 38 year
00:59:08.260 old woman decides she wants a baby claims. She has been betrayed by feminism. She put this crying
00:59:14.340 video on social media. Her name is Melissa. She said, I feel unbelievably betrayed by feminism
00:59:20.080 and I don't want to put it on the movement entirely because I believe you make your own
00:59:23.680 choices. But I was constantly fed this idea that women can do everything. We don't really need men. 1.00
00:59:28.500 I kind of want to go back to some of those teachers and coaches and say, what did you mean by that?
00:59:32.960 Because we can't do it all. Melissa was married at 22 to a man who wanted a traditional family,
00:59:39.600 a simple life with children, home-cooked meals. However, she didn't want children or that
00:59:43.540 lifestyle. She said that she'd had it when he asked her to do his laundry and make him dinner.
00:59:49.920 She wanted to pursue a career. I guess she left that marriage, but she is realizing that that
00:59:59.060 life is closer to what she really wanted than the one that she has now when it is very difficult to
01:00:04.780 be able to settle down and have kids. I think that this is real. This is real. And the people
01:00:11.820 also who say, I saw Dax Shepard say that this is a, you know, an option for his kids and he's
01:00:16.960 going to offer his daughter to freeze her eggs when she's like 18. Like that, like that's some
01:00:23.240 viable option. First of all, it's terrible for you. It's terrible for your body. And again,
01:00:29.100 if you do the lie, that it'll just be easy. It'll be easy in two decades. It's not. And you're
01:00:35.440 creating again, moral risk. You're creating risk for that child. UCLA said he found that only 5.7%
01:00:41.440 of women who froze their eggs between 2014 and 2016 actually used them between five and seven
01:00:47.580 years. A Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology report found that 55% of women
01:00:52.340 under 35 had a live birth after one cycle of egg retrieval compared with only 4.3% for women over
01:00:59.540 42. I think it's dangerous for women. I think it's dangerous for children. I think it's dangerous for 0.98
01:01:04.420 all these uh embryos that are being created to believe the lie that this is the ideal that this
01:01:12.100 is the ideal i understand that might offend some people but listen to all my caveats it's not the
01:01:16.940 ideal it is possible children are a blessing no matter what but i don't believe that this should
01:01:23.280 be hoisted up to women as like the thing that they should attain as far as it depends on you 0.95
01:01:28.220 get as married, get married as soon as you can. All right. Let me tell you about our last sponsor 0.97

01:02:24.400 All right, y'all. I had like a whole other story to talk about that we didn't have time for. You
01:02:29.820 guys know I'm just like super passionate about these topics, especially the first topic, because
01:02:34.620 I just really think the rights of kids matter. On Friday, we are switching gears. We're going
01:02:39.060 to have a different kind of interview. We are going to be talking about finances with a finance
01:02:45.260 expert from Ramsey Solutions. We've got George Campbell on the show. It was such a good conversation,
01:02:51.560 y'all, whether you are a total newbie when it comes to finances, or if you're someone who feels
01:02:56.900 like you are a pro, I think that you are going to hear things in that conversation that you've never
01:03:02.120 thought about before. I think you'll find it really encouraging. I think you'll find it
01:03:05.240 challenging, maybe even offensive at some parts, y'all. I felt convicted at the end of it. I was
01:03:10.300 like, oh shoot, I hadn't really thought about things that he was saying there. And so it's
01:03:15.220 really good. Make sure that you tune into that. That will be out Friday morning. And as always,
01:03:19.060 if you've got thoughts, if you've got suggestions, a lot of you have asked me different things about
01:03:23.160 like block cameras, different subjects that you guys have sent me. We are always going through
01:03:28.260 your messages and making sure that we are giving you guys the things that you want to hear about,
01:03:32.780 the things that you need to hear about as much as we possibly can. So send me a message,
01:03:37.280 leave a comment. Thank you guys so much for being here. We will be back here on Friday.
01:03:49.060 Thank you.
