00:00:00.360 How far is too far when it comes to exploring and then applying paranormal theories to our
00:00:07.260 lives and to our theology?
00:00:08.720 Today we're taking a look at a professing Christian teacher, Katie Souza, and some of
00:00:14.660 the ideas that she puts forth about things like mermaids and aliens that surprisingly
00:00:19.460 seem to be gaining steam in a lot of Christian circles.
00:00:24.920 Also, we've got voicemails answering some very interesting questions and giving you
00:00:29.060 some advice. We've got all of this and more on today's episode of Relatable.
00:00:59.060 insight into their bodies and to connect to the God who created them. Anna Kate, for women,
00:01:03.980 for life. Download Anna Kate today. God's eternal plan of redemption, it's going off without a hitch.
00:01:19.500 There's another thing that encourages me about God as we get into the craziness of today's episode
00:01:23.940 is that his word is true. It's trustworthy. It does not return void. And we as Christians have
00:01:30.140 the special privilege of getting clarity and courage from his word. We don't have to wonder
00:01:35.500 what's really going on. We don't have to wonder if there's some secret truth behind what we're
00:01:39.880 being told. Sometimes that's true in a very practical sense. What the media tells us isn't
00:01:44.960 real. But if you are seeking some kind of underlying narrative, you don't have to go
00:01:50.060 further than the word of God. God spells out his eternal plan of redemption, how things started,
00:01:56.440 how things have fallen apart in between, how things continue to fall apart and why,
00:02:00.820 because of our sin. And then his plan of redemption, which is going off completely
00:02:05.220 uninhibited, uninterrupted, nothing surprising him, nothing taking him aback. And then one day
00:02:11.860 Jesus is returning and he will rule in perfect peace forever and ever. Today, we are talking
00:02:17.280 about this phenomenon of many Christians looking for secret knowledge, looking for meaning in the 0.79
00:02:22.840 unseen and not just in the heavenly realm, but in a paranormal supernatural conspiratorial realm
00:02:28.920 that actually doesn't align with scripture. And today we will talk about how this movement
00:02:34.120 or this idea, one, it's not new, but also today because of social media, it is increasingly
00:02:40.160 popular and dangerous. Now over the past few months, we have talked thoroughly about a woman
00:02:45.480 named Catherine Crick. She is the popular self-professed prophet and apostle whose mere
00:02:51.240 presence is shown in viral videos to cause people to fall into seizure-like fits in the name of
00:02:57.140 deliverance and demonic exorcisms. And we have shown the contrast between Catherine's practices
00:03:04.060 and biblical deliverance, as well as the parallel between her teachings and that of the new age and
00:03:08.900 even witchcraft. And as we've looked deeper into this world of non-biblical theology, specifically
00:03:14.660 infecting, sadly, the charismatic world, we have seen that this issue goes beyond Crick and her
00:03:21.940 name it and claim it often very bizarre doctrines and practices and into a realm of pseudo-Christian
00:03:27.800 teaching that delves into occult-like beliefs and mysticism. And one of the figures propelling
00:03:33.380 these teachings is a woman by the name of Katie Souza. Now she claims to be a Christian teacher
00:03:38.760 and her beginning, as we will look at, looked very standard as far as Christian teachers go
00:03:45.220 and the testimony that she shared on a lot of platforms. But now she is claiming to have
00:03:50.580 special connections to supernatural powers, not heavenly supernatural powers again,
00:03:55.480 but extraterrestrial ones. So today we're going to look at Susan, some of her teachings,
00:04:00.520 contrasting them to scripture, not to just dissect this one person, but also to show the
00:04:07.360 occultic lies pushed in these circles that have power to entice Christians and in some ways seem
00:04:13.140 to be picking up steam on Christian social media. Um, first let us talk about where she is now,
00:04:20.160 and then we'll kind of go backwards and show where she started and talk about why this development
00:04:26.460 is so troubling. Um, here's Katie. Here's, here's what she looks like. Maybe you've seen her face
00:04:33.800 before. Maybe you've seen some of her videos on Instagram. I have, and I'm not someone who is part
00:04:38.780 of the charismatic world or the paranormal discussion world at all, but maybe you've
00:04:45.000 seen her on your social media accounts and platforms. She still calls herself a Christian
00:04:51.720 teacher, but this is the kind of content that she puts out, some of which goes viral regularly,
00:04:57.280 not one. I was visited when I was a young girl, aliens implanted an interdimensional device in me
00:05:03.200 that harvested my eggs over my lifetime.
00:05:06.920 So I don't know if their wives that they took, 0.99
00:05:11.060 their human wives, were part of that experiment
00:05:13.120 of combining them with fish to create these mermaids or not.
00:05:18.660 It's quite possible,
00:05:20.320 because these mermaids are really old.
00:05:22.100 They are ancient. 1.00
00:05:23.440 They're sea hags. 1.00
00:05:24.520 They're witches. 1.00
00:05:25.880 I have dealt with shapeshifters. 1.00
00:05:28.300 I had a werewolf who is a shapeshifting person. 1.00
00:05:30.920 This is real, guys.
00:05:31.760 This isn't just the movies.
00:05:33.200 snap out of it. This is real. Okay. So how did she go from being what seemed like a normal
00:05:41.880 Christian minister to having this very bizarre worldview where she is still having some influence
00:05:50.660 on those who profess to be Christians? When she has teachings that resemble more occult-like 0.90
00:05:56.720 mythology than biblical Christianity, and anyone like this has a platform in Christian circles, 0.86
00:06:02.620 our ears need to perk up. So just a little bit about her background. I think it's interesting
00:06:07.240 because it goes to show that just because someone professes to be a Christian and is inside
00:06:13.960 mainstream circles, like they can have a strange trajectory if they are not rooted in the word of
00:06:19.040 God, any of us, if we're not rooted in the word of God, um, we can sway into dangerous territory.
00:06:25.640 So she built her ministry around her conversion story. She became a Christian while serving a
00:06:31.220 federal prison sentence for drug and weapons charges. After years of addiction, math dealing, 0.85
00:06:36.120 violent behavior, finally culminated in a breaking point in solitary confinement.
00:06:43.260 After she was released in 2003, she published a book about her conversion,
00:06:47.760 the key to your expected and began a prison ministry in 2006. Her testimony was featured
00:06:53.580 on CBN, the 700 club. She had her own television program on Christian networks, including Daystar,
00:07:00.620 talking about Christian things. So not exactly someone in the theological circles that I would
00:07:07.800 have listened to, but definitely someone that would have been considered mainstream. So how
00:07:14.240 did she go from her prison ministry and that incredible testimony to talking about very
00:07:19.600 strange supernatural things? The transition from that to this is kind of mysterious, a little
00:07:26.000 strange. We don't really know. But the point is that she does still have a platform. She has
00:07:31.740 influence and these ideas are picking up steam. So why are we talking about this? Again, not just
00:07:38.880 this one person, but this topic, because as Christians, we do believe in the supernatural
00:07:42.840 realm. We do believe that there are things that exist that transcend our understanding.
00:07:48.060 We know from Ephesians six, that the battle that is waging right now is not just a physical battle.
00:07:55.260 It's a spiritual battle between the prince of the power of the air, the forces of evil
00:08:00.720 and the forces of God, the forces of good.
00:08:04.220 So Christians can be, because we understand that there is supernatural existence, we can
00:08:10.760 be susceptible to sensationalism, especially when that kind of teaching claims to offer
00:08:18.480 a secret knowledge about the spiritual world.
00:08:21.340 but what's important to know right from the top that something being mysterious or supernatural
00:08:26.900 does not make it biblical. And as I'm saying this, I actually see so much crossover between those who
00:08:33.880 are seeking special knowledge from the supernatural realm and those who are seeking special knowledge
00:08:39.980 from internet conspiracy theories who believe that the alternate narrative is always the more godly
00:08:45.820 one, the wiser one, the more biblical one. Sometimes the alternate theory is true. Sometimes
00:08:51.500 the mainstream theory is true, but we've been given minds to think through all of that. And I
00:08:56.840 think that applies here, that because people are so mistrusting, understandably so, of authority
00:09:04.040 figures, certainly in the media, they are seeking a form of Gnosticism, of special knowledge that
00:09:10.160 makes them feel like they're really in the know and in control. The problem is that can have
00:09:15.580 spiritual consequences when it leads you to false teaching. Katie's story is a really good reminder
00:09:21.100 that sensational ideas can work their way in to a professing Christian's life into Christian
00:09:27.340 circles just because they are interesting or exciting, or because they borrow parts
00:09:33.360 of scripture and borrow parts of truth that Christians do cling to.
00:09:39.200 i'm guessing that a lot of you have tried all different kinds of supplements maybe
00:09:47.820 you you know fell for an instagram or tiktok ad that was telling you that this vitamin would be
00:09:54.160 a game changer you saw it go viral you bought it on amazon you thought it was going to make
00:09:58.320 the biggest difference in your hair skin and nails and it didn't you probably spent a lot
00:10:02.380 of money like i had in the past on different kinds of supplement regimens and you really
00:10:07.760 didn't see a difference. I mean, what a waste of money. And what is that even doing to your body
00:10:11.820 to put all of these supplements into your body? And they're not making a meaningful difference.
00:10:16.640 All of that changed for me when I started using WeHeart Nutrition at the beginning of 2024.
00:10:21.580 I was postpartum with my last baby and I just felt myself getting sick a lot. Like my immune
00:10:26.960 system was depleted. Part of that, of course, is just physical recovery from birth and also not
00:10:32.120 getting a lot of sleep. But I also just felt like I didn't have everything that I needed
00:10:36.160 for my body to be as strong as possible. So I switched to WeHeart Nutrition and that made a
00:10:41.960 huge difference. I feel that my immune system, my hair, skin, and nails better than ever. I really
00:10:48.260 mean that. And I think it's because all of the ingredients in every WeHeart Nutrition supplement
00:10:52.940 is in the most bioavailable form, the most natural form, so your body can actually absorb it. So
00:10:59.080 I can rest assured that I'm actually getting the iron that I need, that I'm getting the magnesium
00:11:03.160 that I need, that I'm getting the DHA, the vitamin B, all of it. Importantly, when you're pregnant, 0.99
00:11:08.240 the folate that you need, all of that is really important. And I love that I can trust with We
00:11:13.320 Heart Nutrition that my body is actually using it, absorbing it. It makes a huge difference in
00:11:17.540 how you feel. Go to weheartnutrition.com, use code Allie for 20% off your order. That's A-L-L-I-E,
00:11:24.180 weheartnutrition.com, code Allie. So let's first look at how she imports pagan mythology and occult
00:11:37.660 cosmology. Pagan mythology and occult cosmology. So in her recent teaching and podcast, Sousa has
00:11:44.420 veered heavily into reinterpreting creatures and concepts originating in mythology, folklore,
00:11:49.880 occultism, paranormal culture as actually existing in the biblical supernatural world.
00:11:56.920 And quite a few outlets have noticed Sousa veering into this bizarre territory.
00:12:02.320 So you heard in that opening montage, Katie Sousa talked about
00:12:05.160 mermaids and mermaids being real. Here's top five.
00:12:09.080 Hey guys, on this episode of Stewards of the Mystery, we're talking about the Marine Kingdom,
00:12:13.300 most specifically mermaids and how these spirits actually will come, I'm sorry to say this,
00:12:18.460 and sa you in your sleep and sometimes those encounters are more than dreams i also talked
00:12:25.560 about these spirits how they actually siphon off your youth we'll be reading testimonies about this
00:12:30.520 this is real this happens they can make you sick they can make you nauseous they can have your
00:12:34.960 vitality cause you to age and we're going to be sharing stories about people pastors and leaders
00:12:41.160 that actually made covenants with these mermaid spirits to get more power and authority and the
00:12:48.280 things they did to have to keep up the success of their church because they'd enter into this
00:12:54.820 demonic covenant with these demon spirits oh my gosh the marine kingdom is taking away your youth
00:13:04.740 that's a new one i don't know i might i might buy retinol if that was part of their commercial
00:13:10.660 okay so in trying to explain the origins of these ancient mermaid witches susa combines the bible
00:13:16.220 the book of enoch and greek mythology saw six the reason why the fallen watcher angels did that is
00:13:21.860 because there was all kinds of creatures in the heaven the four living creatures of ox face ox
00:13:26.800 faces and lion faces and eagles and i mean and they're very powerful creatures so these fallen
00:13:33.480 watcher angels were trying to create those same powerful creatures that are in heaven that we see
00:13:38.620 around the throne of god and in ezekiel where the four living creatures come through the open heaven
00:13:44.920 from the throne of god into the earth and they were lion and and ox and eagle and human they
00:13:51.300 were trying to recreate that and so they sinned against the animals and the fish and the reptiles
00:13:56.220 to try to make these half human half creature looking things satars medusa all these things
00:14:02.820 we see all the you know mythology which i don't believe is myth actually the person who sits next
00:14:08.620 to you on a four hour flight when you're trying to sleep. I'm the guy. Oh, oh, like with my AirPods
00:14:15.680 and continually turning up the volume on my phone. Oh my goodness. Okay. So there are some things
00:14:21.100 that are true though. In all seriousness, there are some things that are true that she says.
00:14:25.560 And that's why I actually think some Christians maybe with too much time on their hands with just,
00:14:30.960 I don't know, a desire to look into what is not being told to us could actually be attracted to
00:14:38.580 this kind of message. So it's true that the cherubim, uh, that Ezekiel describes that they
00:14:45.680 have four faces, Ezekiel 10, 14, and everyone had four faces. The first face was the face of the 0.74
00:14:50.960 cherub. The second face was a human face and the third, the face of a lion and the fourth,
00:14:55.100 the face of an Eagle. But beyond this, Sousa's narrative is based entirely on non-biblical
00:15:00.020 texts and conjecture. She cites the book of Enoch, which is also not just her. That is something
00:15:05.000 that professing Christians, I have heard them go back to, and we've talked about it a little bit,
00:15:10.280 and try to cite as an inerrant text or an authoritative text, but it's not a biblical
00:15:15.700 text. It was not included in the Jewish scriptures. It wasn't included in the New Testament, of course.
00:15:20.840 It wasn't a deuterocanonical book of the Catholic Church, also known as the Apocrypha.
00:15:28.600 And part of the confusion around the Book of Enoch is that people note that it was included
00:15:33.260 in the ethiopian orthodox bible but this church's canon is unlike any other in christendom around
00:15:40.060 the fourth century missionaries from syria went to what is now modern day ethiopia they brought
00:15:45.040 with them a wide range of literature um some of this was the bible new testament books in greek
00:15:51.560 the greek translation of the old testament but they also brought other writings that nobody
00:15:55.180 considered scripture at the time like the book of enoch of all of the efforts that have gone
00:16:00.760 into through the power of the Holy Spirit, creating the biblical canon. The book of Enoch
00:16:05.240 has not been included because of just some bizarre things in there that do not align with the rest of
00:16:11.000 scripture and prophecies that have not actually been fulfilled. Jesus himself, the New Testament
00:16:16.940 writers never referenced the book of Enoch. And those are all factors that go into those that
00:16:23.860 compiled the canon on how they decide which books should be included. Weshoff talks about this.
00:16:30.600 thought seven. The Ethiopian church took all of this literature, which included literature that
00:16:38.280 nobody considered scripture at the time, and they appear to have just been non-discretionary
00:16:43.900 and included everything. So all of the debates that were happening in the Latin West and the
00:16:49.620 Greek East about what was and wasn't scripture, they looked at that and they said, we're not
00:16:54.200 really interested in that. We'll just take everything. Okay. That's apparently how this
00:16:59.680 book became to be came to be included so susa starts off citing this non-canonical text but
00:17:05.200 then pivots even further away from scripture and names figures uh like medusa from greek mythology
00:17:11.160 saying she doesn't actually think they are myths but that they're actually real so just notice the
00:17:17.180 process here and notice kind of the messaging that susa uses this non-canonical literature to supply
00:17:24.040 information that scripture itself does not reveal she also uses parts of scripture that are actually
00:17:29.140 true. And then her argument then goes into mythology and Christian cosmology. Her argument
00:17:36.460 effectively becomes that Enoch explains the origin of creatures preserved in mythology,
00:17:41.340 while biblical references to the watchers, Nephilim, or unusual heavenly creatures
00:17:46.340 provide the Christian framework into which those myths can be placed. And by Christian cosmology,
00:17:52.740 I just mean the Christian ordering of the universe, the origin of the universe. So she's 0.54
00:17:57.640 kind of bringing together these mystical ideas of these creatures that exist outside of our
00:18:03.520 understanding of time and space with a Christian understanding of how the world came to be and
00:18:08.440 exist today. Okay, y'all right now I am on maternity leave. So we pre-recorded these
00:18:18.940 episodes for you guys. And you can bet that actually right now, as you are listening to
00:18:24.620 this or you are watching this, I am lounging at home in Cozy Earth loungewear or pajamas in my

00:18:35.160 am comfortable at all times. Everything is so soft, so breathable. I love their sheets. I can't
00:18:41.240 settle for anything less than my Cozy Earth sheets now. They're bamboo, they're super soft,
00:18:45.980 and they're also breathable. No one likes to sleep in a stuffy, scratchy sheet set. And so
00:18:51.640 you might as well sleep as comfortably and as luxuriously as possible. And by the way,
00:18:56.200 these make great Christmas gifts, great wedding gifts. Like if you want to be someone's favorite,
00:19:01.820 get them something from Cozy Earth. I love all of their products. I've got all different kinds
00:19:07.520 of pajama sets and loungewear sets from them. They really are so comfortable. And I love their
00:19:12.560 towels too. They're like the perfect combination of scratchy and soft. Go to CozyEarth.com. Use

00:19:25.080 sure that you tell them that you heard about this from Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey,
00:19:29.040 CozyEarth.com, code relatable. Well, now later in the same episode, Sousa relies on internet
00:19:39.960 testimonies as corroborating evidence. She introduces one story by explaining,
00:19:44.020 this is on the internet so you know it's true and proceeds to recount an alleged pastor's
00:19:50.400 encounter with a mermaid who supposedly transformed from a fish-tailed creature 0.86
00:19:54.160 into a human woman and then had sex with the pastor. Sousa I can't. Sousa immediately 0.98
00:20:00.860 interprets this as further evidence that mermaids are shapeshifters. All right I have you know kind
00:20:07.660 of wondered how mermaids and mythology were meant to procreate when you think about like how their
00:20:12.800 bodies. I don't even know how they go to the bathroom. So I guess she's saying you have to 1.00
00:20:17.340 shape shifts in order for this story to be true. And that's how she reconciles that.
00:20:21.900 This just demonstrates the dangerous direction of her interpretation. She ends up accepting
00:20:26.360 any sensational account posted on the internet. Mermaids are far from the only creatures from 0.94
00:20:31.540 mythology and folklore that Sousa has incorporated into this supernatural worldview. She also
00:20:36.840 claims that she has had encounters with werewolves. I've had a lot of encounters.
00:20:42.160 I had an encounter with a hybrid that I can't tell you all the details now, but it was a direct connection to my family being involved.
00:20:53.800 They didn't create the hybrid, but they were stolen from to create the hybrid.
00:20:57.240 I saw the hybrid.
00:20:58.600 I've been on assignment to try to find it and kill it for many years now. 1.00
00:21:03.480 I'm just going to say that. 0.99
00:21:04.700 I don't care. 1.00
00:21:05.780 And also, I have dealt with shapeshifters. 0.99
00:21:09.240 I had a werewolf who is a shapeshifting person.
00:21:11.800 And this is real, guys.
00:21:12.600 This isn't just the movies.
00:21:14.960 Snap out of it.
00:21:16.080 This is real.
00:21:17.100 Okay?
00:21:17.520 And this werewolf was on assignment to take out a bride of Christ that had been rescued,
00:21:22.960 a bride of Satan, that they were grooming her to be the bride of Satan,
00:21:26.280 that had been rescued from the cult.
00:21:29.080 And so the werewolf came as a punisher because a werewolf is an assassin.
00:21:33.480 And I got in the way.
00:21:35.380 And so I was also targeted by that same werewolf. 0.55
00:21:37.900 So I've seen shapeshifters. 0.97
00:21:39.600 I've seen hybrids with my own eyes. 1.00
00:21:42.700 I've dealt with them. 1.00
00:21:43.780 I've encountered them.
00:21:44.600 I'm sound of mind.
00:21:46.040 And this is real.
00:21:48.160 So what she does is reverse the proper relationship between scripture and outside sources.
00:21:53.800 The question is no longer what has God revealed in scripture about the unseen realm, which
00:21:59.180 is a lot, or at least there are pieces of that that are interesting and interesting
00:22:03.420 to explore.
00:22:04.320 But she uses bits and pieces, decontextualizes them. 0.66
00:22:08.260 And then she also weds them with extra biblical literature, mythology, occult testimony, 0.98
00:22:15.140 internet accounts to make it seem like she has access to some special realm of knowledge.
00:22:21.480 You actually see this again in a lot of other spheres outside of Christian theology.
00:22:26.760 You see this in true crime.
00:22:28.520 You see this among podcasters and influencers.
00:22:30.880 You see this with people saying, well, this thing is kind of true.
00:22:35.220 This thing is kind of true.
00:22:36.280 let me put them all on the table for you. And without even putting them together like puzzle
00:22:41.900 pieces, they just place all the pieces on the table and say, isn't this strange? Isn't this
00:22:47.680 strange? And that leaves people in this tizzy of, wow, that is weird. I never thought about that.
00:22:54.300 But they never step back to ask themselves, but how does that actually fit together? And is that
00:23:00.020 actually true. Sousa's theology actually comes from a form of syncretism. And syncretism is
00:23:06.500 where you try to wed things like witchcraft or other beliefs with Christianity. People have been
00:23:11.660 doing this since the beginning of God's people when God tells ancient Israel, don't have any 0.76
00:23:18.000 part in these customs from the other cultures that includes things like talking to the dad,
00:23:23.360 necromancy, witchcraft. That is forbidden. God is not a fan of syncretism. You can't serve God
00:23:30.600 and serve false gods. You can't be a Christian and also practice witchcraft because when Jesus 1.00
00:23:36.200 comes into our hearts, he becomes the Lord of all of it. Another example of her obsession with 0.97
00:23:41.300 paranormal stories is her focus on aliens. Sousa claims that aliens visited her as a young girl.
00:23:47.060 and as you heard in the beginning harvested her eggs and made a hybrid alien human child where
00:23:54.460 is that child we don't know sat nine i was visited when i was a young girl and aliens alien beings
00:24:01.940 implanted an interdimensional device in me that harvested my eggs over my lifetime because eggs
00:24:09.760 you get hundreds of thousands of eggs when you're when you're born with hundreds of thousands of
00:24:14.840 eggs if you're female but they don't mature until you ovulate so this this device obviously was
00:24:21.280 harvesting them right when they would mature so that they could then try to work their work
00:24:28.580 and i have no idea how they do that but to try to create a hybrid child which they actually
00:24:33.640 eventually did and i saw it i was showing it and its name was starburst
00:24:37.940 yeah that's why my husband and i are childless right now
00:24:44.840 I gotta know what our friend on the other side of that table is thinking.
00:24:50.360 I gotta know when he's saying, oh, like he obviously, he must believe this.
00:24:55.600 So I don't even know if he is our friend.
00:24:57.620 But I just wonder if at any point in this conversation,
00:25:01.180 he was like really trying not to laugh.
00:25:04.280 Starburst is just like a little on the nose.
00:25:06.640 Come on.
00:25:07.760 Now, when Suze is telling the Nephilim in Genesis 6 became the gods of Greek mythology
00:25:12.360 and the extraterrestrials of modern UFO encounters.
00:25:15.580 Ancient stories about Zeus and other pagan gods
00:25:18.260 become evidence of historical human-alien hybridization.
00:25:22.940 Genesis does record the story of the Nephilim.
00:25:25.420 We've talked about the Nephilim before, Genesis 6.
00:25:27.600 They were on the earth in those days and also afterward
00:25:29.440 when the sons of God came into the daughters of man
00:25:32.100 and they bore children to them.
00:25:33.980 These were the mighty men who were of old,
00:25:35.820 the men of renown.
00:25:37.500 But there are a lot of theories
00:25:38.640 about who the Nephilim were, by the way,
00:25:41.260 that we won't get into right now but genesis says nothing about aliens harvesting human eggs or
00:25:46.200 interdimensional reproductive devices so she has to pull accounts of alien abduction from other
00:25:51.720 texts or from the internet from reddit who knows and force them back on to scripture that's kind 0.97
00:25:57.960 of how she works she works backward into scripture and tries to explain how all of this supposedly 0.98
00:26:03.020 operates interpreting sawmate for example as a cosmic legal code requiring demonic beings to
00:26:08.600 possess human dirt bodies before they can exercise dominion over the earth.
00:26:12.420 Psalm 8 says, who are you, O earth? 0.98
00:26:15.500 This is what it says in the Amplified Classic, which amplifies all the wording in the text.
00:26:20.940 Who are you, O earth-born man, that you've been given dominion over all the works of
00:26:26.840 his hands?
00:26:27.580 You see, God made a rule that only a spirit living in a dirt body, that's what we are,
00:26:34.680 spirit living in a dirt body can have dominion over all the works of his hands so they go oh 0.92
00:26:40.400 okay we have to create these hybrid bodies we have to create these dirt bodies and then we put 0.89
00:26:48.420 our disembodied spirits because when the giants drowned in the flood this their eternal spirits 1.00
00:26:54.200 that they inherited from their fallen watcher angel fathers came out of them and it's always
00:26:59.860 looking for a body to re-inhabit just like it used to inhabit the giant's dirt body because the
00:27:05.620 giant's bodies were made out of flesh they're made out of dirt because we're made out of dirt 0.72
00:27:08.480 now they look for another dirt body so that that's what they steal from us sperm eggs dna whatever it
00:27:14.980 is okay here's what psalm 84 actually says what is man that you are mindful of him and the son of
00:27:21.760 man that you care for him so susa is again using something that's not in the text the word earth
00:27:26.660 born to create a doctrine that only those living an earth-born body can have dominion over the
00:27:31.680 earth and therefore aliens need to inhabit our bodies so they can have dominion over the earth.
00:27:36.400 That obviously sounds crazy, but there's been a lot of talk even like among mainstream conservatives
00:27:41.720 and Christians about the existence of UFOs. We did an episode with Mike Winger about some
00:27:47.840 supposed Christian leaders or professing Christian leaders who claim to have met with the government
00:27:53.000 and, um, have been warned about impending UFO, uh, a UFO alien encounter where they're going to try
00:28:04.840 to, uh, the aliens are going to try to take over and they're going to try to test our faith and
00:28:10.380 all of these things. And Mike Winger does a really brilliant job of uncovering these claims is just
00:28:15.900 not being true. So you might think, okay, this is just a kooky lady. It's not mainstream at all.
00:28:20.120 well, some of these ideas are reflected in the mainstream, unfortunately. All of these examples
00:28:26.000 are examples of eisegesis. This is reading, and it's not, I can't even call it eisegesis. I don't
00:28:31.720 know. I think that is like way too charitable. Like it's not even eisegesis. It is taking things
00:28:38.440 completely out of context to try to fit into some strange paranormal worldview that she has.
00:28:45.920 she does this repeatedly. She looks really first at outside sources and then sees how she can fit
00:28:52.260 scripture into that. I don't know about you, but there are so many things that I learned in school
00:29:01.860 growing up that I want to learn more about, or things that I'm like, you know what, I don't feel
00:29:05.500 like I learned enough about that. There are parts of history, aspects of economics, the great works
00:29:10.960 of literature the meaning of the u.s constitution that i just want to dive more deeply into and
00:29:16.640 maybe you're thinking well how are you supposed to do that are you just supposed to look on the
00:29:19.800 internet and do the research for yourself you don't have time to enroll in school full time
00:29:23.740 that's why i love what hillsdale college offers they offer more than 40 free online courses
00:29:29.220 and the most important and enduring subjects you can learn about the works of c.s lewis the stories
00:29:35.040 of the book of genesis the meaning of the constitution the rise and fall of the roman
00:29:38.420 Republic, over 40 totally free online courses that you can take at your own pace at your own
00:29:44.980 time. I love the C.S. Lewis on Christianity course. It's a seven lecture course. You will
00:29:51.920 examine some of Lewis's classic works, including my favorite, Mere Christianity, The Screwtape
00:29:56.800 Letters, The Abolition of Man. You're going to learn so much from this course and from C.S. Lewis
00:30:01.820 that even if you've read this books, you may have never thought about before. Go to hillsdale.edu
00:30:06.460 slash relatable to enroll no cost. And it's super easy to get started. Hillsdale.edu slash relatable.
00:30:17.880 So the problem with Katie Seuss's teaching is not simply that some of her claims are bizarre
00:30:23.380 because Christianity is, as we said, supernatural. Christians do believe in things that the world
00:30:29.360 considers really strange, like angels and demons and miracles. So we shouldn't reject the teaching
00:30:34.660 just because it describes something that is strange. The book of revolution or of revelation
00:30:39.140 rather is very strange. Okay. I remember trying to read that by myself when I was like in fourth
00:30:45.980 grade, I was like, this is going to be the book that I tackle every night before going to bed
00:30:49.960 nightmares. It's strange still to this day. I am like intimidated by the book of revelation
00:30:55.080 because some of the imagery in it is so strange. So it's not that we're just rejecting her teaching
00:31:00.180 because it is strange. The important issue is where our knowledge of the supernatural actually
00:31:05.580 comes from. She has constructed this elaborate spiritual system using pieces drawn from
00:31:11.480 scripture alongside the book of Enoch, alleged personal experiences, testimonies, mythology,
00:31:16.360 even occult concepts. In doing so, she goes beyond what scripture reveals. She creates new categories
00:31:22.060 of spiritual bondage that Christians supposedly need additional knowledge of and deliverance to 0.93
00:31:27.260 escape. But scripture doesn't direct Christians to uncover hidden ancestral sins, map the unseen
00:31:33.660 realm, investigate mermaids and shapeshifters. It points us to Christ who has forgiven our sins.
00:31:39.500 He's canceled our debt. He's disarmed the powers and the authorities through the cross who is one
00:31:44.180 day coming back and is going to defeat all of it. There's actually no value that you get from even
00:31:49.280 considering whether or not those things are true. There is no value to your life and your
00:31:54.660 understanding of the world and loving your neighbor and loving the God who saved you and
00:32:00.480 thinking about whether or not mermaids and shapeshifters and werewolves are real. You are
00:32:05.680 not actually given the task to go like kill a werewolf shapeshifter. I promise you that that 1.00
00:32:12.480 is not the quiet, godly life that God has called Christians to. Paul warns us that people will 1.00
00:32:20.020 start to listen to teachers just for entertainment value. Second Timothy four, three through four
00:32:25.120 says for the time is coming when people will not endure a sound teaching, but having itching ears,
00:32:30.260 they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from
00:32:34.220 listening to the truth and wander off into myths. Paul also warns against speculative teaching
00:32:40.380 based on myths. First Timothy four, uh, one three through four says, as I urged you when I was going
00:32:45.640 in Macedonia remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different
00:32:50.920 doctrine nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations
00:32:56.480 rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. Okay. Promote speculations rather than the
00:33:03.340 stewardship from God that is by faith. And I know my audience, I know that y'all are not interested
00:33:08.700 in what this particular lady who I think really struggles like mentally has to say, but it is
00:33:17.820 applicable to anyone who finds themselves tempted by the sensationalism and the speculation that is
00:33:26.080 so often put forth as content on social media, especially those that claim to be Christians
00:33:33.080 while doing so. There are things that are outlined by scripture and there are things that are not
00:33:39.360 explicitly outlined by scripture, but that is not an invitation to fill the gaps in God's revelation
00:33:45.860 with mythology, occultism, paranormal stories, speculation. Where scripture speaks, Christians
00:33:52.320 should absolutely listen and obey. And where scripture is silent, we should be really, really
00:33:56.480 careful about claiming to know what God has not revealed and much more careful about teaching
00:34:02.320 those things authoritatively. All right. That's all we've got time for right now on Katie Sousa.
00:34:07.940 Like I said, we will talk more. We'll try to talk more about this pattern or about what I think is
00:34:13.520 actually a movement within Christianity or professing Christianity to try to attach mythology
00:34:19.040 with Christianity in the syncretistic way that is actually very dangerous. Let's get into some
00:34:26.040 voicemails. Voicemail number one. Hey, Allie. Thank you so much for doing this.
00:34:33.300 My question is, I guess, a two-part question related to grief as a Christian, but I lost
00:34:41.140 five family members in about two years. Three of them were just a couple months from each other,
00:34:47.760 close family members, and none of them, as far as I know, knew the Lord. And I'm just really
00:34:54.640 struggling with the grieving, not grieving like those without hope, because, you know, I'm really
00:35:02.420 sad that I don't know that I'll see them in heaven, that they might be in hell. And I am
00:35:08.880 struggling to work through the grief. So if you have any wisdom or perspective on grieving,
00:35:16.600 I would really appreciate it. Thank you. I'm going to recommend a book to you by someone who
00:35:23.600 is much wiser than I am, and that is C.S. Lewis. He wrote a book called A Grief Observed. I would
00:35:31.120 really encourage you to read that. His perspective on losing his wife is one that is so edifying and
00:35:37.680 poignant, doesn't shy away from the pain of someone that you love dying and everything that
00:35:42.880 comes with that, but also finding hope in the resurrection and finding hope in Christ.
00:35:50.080 Now there's another layer of deep, profound grief when the person who dies was not a believer
00:35:57.620 and realizing the reality of eternal punishment.
00:36:01.940 I think that not only of course, is that normal to grieve in that way and to just be so sad.
00:36:07.920 I think, you know, I've thought about that myself in different situations and what I
00:36:12.420 have to turn to because it's so easy to despair.
00:36:15.220 I just have to turn to God, you're good.
00:36:17.920 you are good and you are just, and you won't ever do anything that is not good or just.
00:36:22.480 You are love first John four, eight. So I know that whatever you do is just and good and loving.
00:36:29.760 And I don't understand everything, but I rejoice that I'm not God, that I'm not the one that's
00:36:34.540 making those decisions. I'm not the one that's in charge of divine judgment. I don't know. Maybe
00:36:39.120 those people had a moment of repentance on their deathbed. I certainly hope so, but it should also
00:36:44.320 fill us with a sense of urgency. And I'm talking to myself because it's so easy to just kind of go
00:36:49.600 through life complacent, even around people who aren't believers and just say, oh, you know,
00:36:54.460 I was nice to them. That might be enough. Or I'll have other situations, other opportunities to
00:36:59.940 share the gospel with them when really we're not promised the next second. And so that grief should
00:37:04.860 also fill you with an urgency to ensure that everyone that God puts in your path is closer
00:37:10.720 towards understanding and realizing the gospel. Obviously it's God who waters, it's God who gives
00:37:15.700 growth. It's God's sovereignty that saves a person, but he has preordained evangelism and
00:37:21.940 prayer to be the mechanisms by which he works and through which he saves people and advances his
00:37:27.540 kingdom. He doesn't need that. He doesn't have to do that, but that is the mechanism that he has
00:37:32.460 put in place as we see in scripture, as we see in the great commission and, um, Jesus's final
00:37:38.220 words on earth. So that's how I would encourage you there. And I also just want to encourage you
00:37:43.860 that this phrase grieving without hope, that we do not grieve as those without hope. That's what
00:37:51.720 Christians are called to. That does not mean that we don't grieve. It doesn't mean that, oh, you cry
00:37:57.560 less or that you are sad for less time or that you cover your mirror with pithy sayings reminding
00:38:05.700 you, that heaven is real, that the people who did die who were Christians are in a better place. 0.98
00:38:12.160 And of course, that is true. If someone dies and they're a Christian, they are in a far better 1.00
00:38:15.840 place. And sometimes that is an important reminder. But I always am comforted by Jesus's 1.00
00:38:22.260 reaction when Lazarus died. Lazarus died. He sees his friends and family crying. Jesus wept. Shortest
00:38:30.100 verse in the Bible. Now, not only is Jesus God. So of course, Jesus knew where Lazarus was. Jesus
00:38:37.140 knows what happens in the afterlife. Jesus knows what's happening. It's going to happen with the
00:38:41.420 final resurrection. Jesus knows that he is coming back and that he's going to make all things right.
00:38:46.580 And that escaping the burden of sin and sadness of this world is a relief to God's people. So he
00:38:54.760 not only knows all of that, but because he's God and knows everything, he also knows that he's going 0.99
00:38:59.040 to raise this sucker from the dead in a few minutes. And that actually everyone is going 0.95
00:39:03.560 to rejoice because through his own power, Lazarus is not going to be dead in a physical sense
00:39:09.060 anymore. And yet he weeps. And I think he weeps with sympathy and compassion for those who are
00:39:14.680 so sad about this. I think he weeps also because the reality of death speaks to the reality of sin
00:39:20.640 and it was never supposed to be that way. Because there was this great betrayal. Because there was
00:39:28.280 this great utter error of Eve deciding that she knew better than the God who had created her and
00:39:34.460 loved her and provided for her. That she believed this snake over her loving creator who had given
00:39:41.440 her everything and beyond what she needed. And because of that fateful choice of Eve and the
00:39:49.800 choice of passivity of Adam, their disobedience, we've seen all of this bloody mess for millennia.
00:39:57.840 And I think that death being the representation of that dark reality made Jesus weep and it 0.68
00:40:05.200 should make us weep too.
00:40:07.360 It is our heart reminding us it was never supposed to be this way.
00:40:12.060 And how we grieve without hope, again, is not not grieving or not being sad.
00:40:17.660 It is yes, grieving with the hope that Jesus is coming back and is going to make all things
00:40:22.840 new.
00:40:23.160 that grief is anticipation that hope is the knowledge the assurance of things faith is the
00:40:29.300 assurance of things hoped for so it's also faith um so it's it's a grief that is mixed with this
00:40:37.260 joy of realizing that one day everything that seems so unfair and untimely is going to be
00:40:44.300 reconciled and redeemed and you know even those who are not christian like they have that innate
00:40:50.060 understanding as well. That's why we want stories to go the way that we want them to go. Like we
00:40:57.340 want the underdog to win. We want the guy who seems like he is losing, but has been cheated.
00:41:02.920 He's been betrayed. We want him to claim victory at the end. We want the person who has had
00:41:07.420 integrity, who has fought with strength this whole time to win. We want the cheater and the liar, 0.97
00:41:13.660 the deceiver to lose. That's how stories are written because it reflects what innately the
00:41:20.640 human heart longs for. We want things to be made right. Instinctively, we all know that they're
00:41:26.640 not. That's part of where the grief comes from for the Christian. And so be filled with urgency,
00:41:33.760 be filled with a joy that can also be coupled with the tears of knowing that death is sad
00:41:39.820 and it's not supposed to be this way.
00:41:43.660 Y'all know we have been using Good Ranchers for, gosh, over five years now. I am so grateful
00:41:52.660 that we have been able to rely on a freezer full of all-American meat from Good Ranchers for so
00:41:59.480 many years. It just has given me peace of mind to know that at least one part of my meal every night
00:42:05.680 is always accounted for. And they have just added so many great products over the years. It started
00:42:10.680 with the Better Than Organic Chicken, which is still a staple in our home, the ground beef,
00:42:14.700 the steak, and that's all amazing. But I love that they have bacon that we use regularly.
00:42:18.880 They have hot dogs. They've got the seed oil-free chicken nuggets. Do you know how hard it is to
00:42:24.980 find seed oil-free chicken nuggets? Even the healthy brands typically have canola oil,
00:42:30.360 sunflower oil. You don't have to worry about that with good ranchers because not only
00:42:34.200 are they so passionate about serving and partnering with these American farmers and
00:42:39.640 ranchers who are really the backbone of America in so many ways, but they also just want to make

00:43:09.640 All right, let's go to voicemail number two.
00:43:14.720 Hi, Allie.
00:43:15.960 I am calling because I am a new Christian,
00:43:19.620 and I have a friend who's also my neighbor,
00:43:23.220 and she was recently telling me about how she is agnostic.
00:43:27.900 And I just know that I am too vulnerable in my faith right now 0.95
00:43:32.000 to be able to be around that.
00:43:34.320 And I am afraid of hurting her feelings,
00:43:37.220 especially because she's my neighbor and I'm going to be seeing.
00:43:39.640 her. How can I create distance without making things weird? And given that I am so new as a
00:43:49.080 Christian, should I share the gospel with her if I don't feel fully equipped?
00:44:00.320 Okay. You're a new Christian and you understand your vulnerability. I think that speaks to some
00:44:06.740 wisdom and discernment. So I just want to encourage you in that, that you are protective of your faith.
00:44:12.040 You are protective of your mind and your heart. That's good. At the same time, a God who never
00:44:18.460 makes any mistakes has given you a neighbor that needs to know the truth that has set you free.
00:44:23.780 That's not a coincidence. It's not like you are, like God has destined you not to be a part of
00:44:31.620 this person's story. Clearly, God wants this neighbor to know the same hope and joy that you
00:44:37.980 have in Christ, and he has positioned you to be able to share your testimony with this person.
00:44:44.260 If you feel vulnerable in your faith because of its newness, that's understandable, but I'm going
00:44:48.940 to need you to quickly get in the word of God, quickly get in a Bible study, quickly get into
00:44:54.240 a community of believers at your local church who are encouraging you and spurring you on and hold
00:44:59.560 you accountable. That is how any of us remain strong in our faith. Any of us remain strong in
00:45:05.260 our faith, not through isolation and just going it alone, but being around fellow believers who
00:45:09.700 can encourage us, who can edify us, who are solid, being under teaching regularly, that is in
00:45:15.640 alignment with the word of God. So I'm going to encourage you in that because it seems like God
00:45:20.060 is actually equipping you. He's calling you. He's going to equip you if he's called you. And let me
00:45:25.900 also encourage you in this. You don't have to know all of the answers for your agnostic neighbor.
00:45:30.700 I have been a Christian for a long time. I would not have all the answers for your agnostic neighbor. 1.00
00:45:35.700 Read the book Tactics by Greg Kokel. I recommend this all the time, but it really changed how I 0.99
00:45:40.880 thought about discussing faith with people and even sharing the gospel, that it is not
00:45:47.000 your job in every conversation to get the ball into the end zone. It's not your job in every
00:45:54.720 conversation to cross the finish line. It is your job to get one step closer to it. It is your job
00:46:01.280 to get the ball farther down the field. You are one of 10,000 people that could be in this woman's 1.00
00:46:06.800 testimony. And all you have to do is to have conversations that reflect the truth of the
00:46:12.080 gospel. And so it might be a well-timed question. It might just be one comment. It might just be
00:46:17.480 your testimony. Okay. Like the power of your testimony, one, it can't be argued against.
00:46:22.680 and two, it is yours. No one can take that away from you. So what if your influence on her
00:46:30.120 is sharing your testimony? What if to gird yourself and to protect this relationship from
00:46:37.000 being one that actually pulls you down? What if every single conversation you have with this woman 0.56
00:46:42.340 goes back to the word of God and goes back to your testimony and goes back to everything that 0.68
00:46:47.500 is good, right, and true? Maybe that is so awkward for her that she doesn't want to hang out with you
00:46:51.880 anymore, but you know that one, you have tried your very best by the grace of God to influence
00:46:57.960 her in the right direction. And two, you are available for her if she wants to hang out with
00:47:03.680 you, but you're not going to change the things you talk about. You're not going to change how
00:47:07.020 you are. Like, what if you are so ardently a messenger of the gospel that it's got to be her
00:47:14.420 who decides whether or not she is comfortable being around you because she knows this Christian 0.55
00:47:19.500 lady is always going to talk about Christianity. Like that is a possibility. I also just think 0.96
00:47:25.140 that you pray for strength and wisdom and that you do everything that you possibly can to be a
00:47:31.440 positive, godly influence in her life. And you do that without hanging out with her all the time.
00:47:36.380 You bring her into your turf. You have her talk about the topics that you want to talk about.
00:47:41.940 You let your attitude rub off on her, not the other way around. You don't need to go to her
00:47:46.220 house and drink and watch The Bachelor. Like you don't need to go to like a bar with her. You don't 0.99
00:47:51.600 need to be interested in her faith of agnosticism at all. You can be interested in her life. You can
00:47:58.400 love her. You can spend time with her in ways that actually glorified God. Never get on her turf.
00:48:04.600 So that's what I would say. Um, and God will equip you again. It's not a coincidence that
00:48:09.860 you live next to her. Okay, voicemail number three, favorite topic, female pastors. 0.98
00:48:17.820 Hi, Allie. I love the show. I appreciate all your wisdom. I'm so curious to know if you think that
00:48:24.540 women who claim to be pastors or priests are living in sin, maybe similar to how 0.94
00:48:32.580 someone who would call themselves a gay Christian would, because it seems so clear to me 0.99
00:48:38.780 The evidence in scripture seems so blatant and clear that how could a woman claim to be a pastor 1.00
00:48:45.760 or priest and not be living in sin? I don't know. I'd appreciate your wisdom. Thanks so much. Bye. 0.99
00:48:52.800 Yes, I do. And I think it's actually very similar when it comes to the sin of sexual
00:48:58.620 immorality, because it's a disordering. It's a disordering of creation. Because remember,
00:49:04.960 when we read, um, when Paul says like, women aren't supposed to have authority over men and
00:49:10.980 the local church, they're not supposed to be teaching in an authoritative way over men and
00:49:15.520 the church. He doesn't just say, and this is because, uh, these people at this time in this
00:49:21.060 culture are misunderstanding things. That's not what he says. He goes all the way back to creation.
00:49:25.560 Whenever anything in the new Testament goes back to creation, that's a signal for me to say, okay,
00:49:30.260 this still counts. That's what Jesus does when he's defining marriage. When he's talking to the
00:49:35.760 Pharisees in Matthew 19, have you not read that in the beginning? And that's kind of what Paul
00:49:40.800 does in this passage. He goes all the way back to creation. And to me, that means, okay, that's a
00:49:46.780 created order issue. And so anytime anyone is living in blatant disorder, including when it
00:49:53.260 comes to gender or sexuality or idolatry or anything, then yes, that person is living in sin.

00:50:40.540 to hear your first shopify.com slash Allie. Women are called to many things. We were even called 1.00
00:50:52.600 in some contexts and to some audiences to teach. And women have incredible abilities and capabilities
00:50:59.740 that have been given to them by God. Some of them are unique to their gender and some of them are 0.97
00:51:04.520 not. But one of the roles that biblically women are not supposed to occupy is that of a pastor 0.99
00:51:10.320 because a pastor is a shepherd. There is a particular masculine strength that comes with 1.00
00:51:15.680 shepherding a church that a woman innately does not have. Doesn't mean that she's not smart. It
00:51:21.040 Does it mean that she's not a good communicator? 0.97
00:51:22.900 Does it mean that she couldn't give a good sermon if she studied for it and practiced
00:51:26.320 it and delivered it?
00:51:27.740 There's plenty of male pastors who are not very good communicators. 0.99
00:51:32.220 And yet a woman, even being a talented woman, cannot be a pastor because that's not a station 0.94
00:51:37.640 that God has called her to. 1.00
00:51:39.280 All right.
00:51:39.740 I hope that has given some clarity.
00:51:41.500 That's all we got time for today.
00:51:42.820 See you guys back here next time.
00:51:51.040 Thank you.
