A woman in British Columbia has been arrested for allegedly making racially offensive comments on social media. She has since been released and will appear in court at a later date. This is the latest in a long line of cases involving the use of the internet by police in Canada.
00:01:44.060But, you know, talking to Tamara Leach and Chris Barber this week in courtroom, these guys have been through hell and back as a result of standing up for freedom.
00:02:44.060Police say the woman was arrested on August 7th, but has since been released to appear in court at a later date.
00:02:52.780Well, prosecutors consider several possible recommended charges.
00:02:57.460Police declined to share the suspect's name or the accounts she allegedly used to make the post.
00:03:01.480Okay, we know now it's, yeah, it's Arsian Polkisman, Corporal Carmen Geiner said the account on X was brought to the attention of police by concerned citizens.
00:03:13.480So, in other words, the bloc political appointee decided to turn her in.
00:05:22.500Hey, can you, I mean, you said I was going to be arrested under the, some what, information, but I'm going to be arrested for posting on Facebook?
00:05:31.580I've made some comments that are offensive, obscene, and people have made complaints about that.
00:05:38.860And it's, can you, can you tell me what this comment was?
00:05:46.000This grandfather in the UK is getting arrested because of a Facebook crime because they received complaints from some of the local residents.
00:05:56.940And this is exactly what happened to this woman in Chile.
00:06:00.460And you know, I'm the last one to ever encourage people to post stupid things on the, on the internet, racist things, things that are, that are blatantly designed to create division and hate.
00:06:12.600And the last one that does that, I, I like to create discussion.
00:06:20.060So I don't know what this woman posted exactly, but I sure as hell don't want the RCMP deciding what's socially acceptable or my neighbor down the street who doesn't like me.
00:06:29.760Cause maybe I, maybe the grass wasn't cut on time to go and report me.
00:06:34.160And this is what happened to this poor guy in England.
00:06:36.180And this is what happened in Chilliwack.
00:07:55.900The justice system is working hand in hand with the police to intimidate people who dare to post anything on Facebook that might ruffle the feathers of Herr Kier Starmer and his communist government.
00:08:13.960We've been committed for sentence, having pleaded guilty to an offence of publishing written material, which is threatening, abusive or insulting, intending thereby to stir up racial hatred.
00:08:30.600The context of your offending is that it arises out of the civil unrest and disorder in many parts of the United Kingdom.
00:08:43.540On the night of the 2nd and 3rd of August, the Britannia Hotel in Leeds was attacked by people who threw missiles, which damaged windows.
00:08:58.480The police were called and on the 3rd of August, the hotel was locked down for the protection of those who were living there.
00:09:05.400At the time, there were 210 occupants, many of whom were foreign refugees and asylum seekers.
00:09:17.320Similar attacks to the hotel were launched on the 4th of August.
00:09:22.760The police attended on each occasion and units were deployed to safeguard the hotel and to provide an increase in the police presence in the area.
00:09:35.400In between the two attacks, you took to social media in order to encourage others towards participation in the attacks upon the hotel.
00:09:50.920As is recognised on your behalf, this offence is so serious that an immediate custodial sentence is unavoidable.
00:10:02.100The sentence that I pass has been reduced by one-third to reflect your guilty plea.
00:10:10.320The sentence is one of 20 months' imprisonment.
00:10:13.940You will serve up to one-half of your sentence in custody before you are released on licence.
00:10:20.880If you fail to abide by the conditions of your licence, you can be returned to prison to serve some or all of the remainder of the custodial term.
00:10:33.180The victim surcharge will apply and I will make a collection order.
00:10:37.440Okay, look at this supercilious, butt-licking judge.
00:10:43.460Sentenced this guy to prison for a social media crime.
00:10:48.220Now, I know I've shown that video before, but it's unbelievable.
00:10:52.760You need to see it again and again and again because this is what's happening now in Canada.
00:10:58.560We're not even having riots in the streets.
00:11:01.200But the RCMP decided to pick up this woman because they deemed what she was doing to be offensive.
00:12:03.300When the cops were arresting our political opponents, when it was all about arresting people suspected of being communists or leftists or hippies
00:12:13.760or some kind of deviantists or some kind of seditious people, we kind of said, you know, that's okay because I don't like those people.
00:12:28.600Now it has turned on its head and the police are going after ordinary Canadians who disagree with woke, leftist, progressive ideas from the Trudeau government.
00:12:44.660That's what the cops are targeting now.
00:12:47.180And now we realize, hey, just like that famous saying from Nazi Germany where the guy says, when they came for the communists, I said nothing because I wasn't a communist.
00:12:57.740When they came for the socialists, I said nothing because I wasn't a socialist.
00:13:01.500When they came for the Jews, I said nothing because I wasn't a Jew.
00:13:04.480When they came for me, there was no one left to say anything for me.
00:14:37.560And I just read a bit from this story here.
00:14:40.120London Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley has issued a warning that American citizens and others in the world could face legal consequences for social media posts that violate UK laws, leading to extradition to their country.
00:14:56.720We will throw the full force of the law at people.
00:14:59.000And whether you're in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you, Rowley stated.
00:15:10.120Oh, when he was asked by a reporter about people such as Elon Musk and dealing with people who are whipping up this kind of behavior from behind the keyboard, who may be in a different country, Rowley answered the reporter, affirming his position to pursue legal ramifications for others.
00:15:28.620These people are evil for suggesting now we're going to extradite people back to England, even if you never lived there.
00:15:42.720It totally redefines the meaning, the definition of the word extradite.
00:23:23.680and he goes on to say that he has to get off the phone because he has to track a 12-year-old who's been suspected of hate crimes or social media crimes.
00:23:35.320This is chilling because it's exactly what could happen.
