Hi, welcome back to another Stand on Guard. I'm your host, David Creighton.
00:00:05.500
Really glad to be here this week. We've had another week of the Freedom Convoy trial going on in Ottawa.
00:00:12.100
Of course, that is the trial that is going after Tamara Leach and Chris Barber,
00:00:17.780
who the prosecution imagines are some sort of ringleaders in this whole thing.
00:00:24.220
And they're trying to suggest that they were the ultimate leaders in this,
00:00:30.520
and that what one person said meant the other person said it, and vice versa.
00:00:36.600
But you know what they've been doing lately? They've been introducing witnesses.
00:00:42.660
The prosecution has been introducing witnesses who are Ottawa residents
00:00:47.380
and who are just terribly inconvenienced by this Freedom Convoy protest.
00:00:54.920
But one witness in particular is very interesting, and that would be Zexy Lee.
00:01:02.860
So let's come back and discuss who is Zexy Lee.
00:01:08.960
So we are in a very precarious position in this country.
00:01:14.500
We need political change, but we also need to resolve to resist.
00:01:30.920
Well, she is not only a witness for the prosecution who appeared Monday
00:01:34.800
with very contradictory testimony from the last time we saw her in such an environment,
00:01:40.920
which was the Emergencies Act Inquiry of about a year ago, where she testified at length.
00:01:47.760
But testimony from that inquiry and the trial didn't quite match up at times.
00:01:53.640
Something that Tamara Leach's lawyer, Lawrence Greenspawn, pointed out to her
00:02:02.060
And it's quite interesting why the testimony didn't add up.
00:02:08.460
Now, Greenspawn noted that for once, she didn't have the same story about this egg carton incident.
00:02:19.380
And this is when people in her apartment complex started throwing eggs at the truckers
00:02:28.140
because they were supposedly so frustrated by this protest.
00:02:35.020
Now, I wrote about all this in a post-millennial article, which you can find on the site.
00:02:41.680
It went viral last night on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
00:02:48.020
I encourage you to read it, because I talk at length about these contradictions, including the egg story.
00:02:55.040
Because at the Emergencies Act Inquiry, Zexy Lee said that she was there.
00:03:14.860
I think I read about it on the Facebook page that belongs to the apartment complex I live in.
00:03:25.480
And Zexy Lee has also talked at length about a truck that backed into her.
00:03:32.900
Now, she's never been very specific about whether or not she was actually hit by the truck.
00:03:46.080
Obviously not, because she's walking around fine.
00:03:51.460
She admitted to the trial and she got out of the way.
00:03:54.160
And so finally, there was no real incident with the truck.
00:03:56.820
Not to the extent that she was physically hurt or injured by it.
00:04:02.040
Which, of course, the implication for many people was that, yes, she had been.
00:04:07.300
Now, it's very interesting that Mr. Greenspawn also pointed out that during the lunch break,
00:04:15.860
Zexy Lee was talking to her civil lawsuit lawyer.
00:04:22.580
And, of course, she is the lead plaintiff, as I've said.
00:04:26.660
She's the lead plaintiff in a $300 million lawsuit against the Freedom Convoy.
00:04:31.320
And these people want to squeeze as much money as they can out of these truckers.
00:04:41.280
And she's not supposed to be discussing her case, her testimony,
00:04:46.320
in a criminal trial with a civil lawsuit lawyer.
00:04:52.580
And Greenspawn asked, what did you two talk about?
00:04:57.760
Zexy Lee said, oh, we were just talking about lunch.
00:05:03.120
And it was only a five, no more than 10-minute conversation.
00:05:12.560
She has been told not to discuss the criminal lawsuit with her civil lawsuit lawyer.
00:05:20.260
And if she did that, that would be a violation of the rules.
00:05:29.740
Interestingly enough, after this confrontation with Greenspawn,
00:05:37.540
She said she was just so sad because I guess she wanted to be greeted as a hero.
00:05:50.340
Now, I don't know if her life has been threatened.
00:05:53.060
I don't know if she thinks her life is in danger.
00:06:03.740
And of course, she kept calling the convoy an occupation, an occupation, an occupation,
00:06:11.200
And the defense counsel really objected to that because it really is grating and completely inaccurate.
00:06:19.640
Well, they had that in Paris during the Second World War, four years of that from Nazi Germany.
00:06:27.560
Some truckers protesting downtown Ottawa is not an occupation.
00:06:33.200
But, you know, you repeat the same inane talking points over and over if you think it's going to help your case.
00:06:38.620
Especially if your case is a $300 million lawsuit against those truckers.
00:06:47.320
And, of course, Zexy Lee likes to describe the truckers as just really nasty people.
00:06:57.920
This is a video that really encapsulates, I think, the real personality.
00:07:02.900
Been living in and amongst the chaos, the loud noise, the profanity for weeks now.
00:07:12.200
So would you say that you felt unsafe walking the streets?
00:07:15.240
I didn't feel safe, but it's hard to describe it as unsafe.
00:07:31.860
Can you describe, sorry, can you describe what you mean by the egg throwing?
00:07:37.160
Well, you know, there were very large trucks parked everywhere.
00:07:43.200
And in some of these instances, they were parked right next to some high-rise condo buildings.
00:07:49.280
And as a result, someone, some people may have gotten some cartons of eggs.
00:07:53.200
And, you know, had their little retaliation in frustration because, really, what else could they do?
00:08:00.460
And when that incident occurred, I remember the police actually came to my building
00:08:06.080
to inquire about the egg throwing as a complaint had been made by the truckers.
00:08:22.600
Well, she's maybe a very normal person, but she apparently doesn't get her story right.
00:08:34.000
And she admitted this week that, no, she read it all on Facebook.
00:08:39.060
So, and where's the, I mean, how hypocritical can you be?
00:08:47.600
She's the one swearing, using profanity against the protesters, saying that she's going to effing sue them.
00:08:57.160
Yeah, and it is incredible the amount of hypocrisy that we've seen at this trial.
00:09:09.120
Well, she was a co-director and a speaker at a leadership summit in 2022, sponsored by the ACCT.
00:09:30.760
And one of the things this lobby group really is opposed to is a foreign agent registry.
00:09:37.520
Now, you can look at the ACCT website for the rest of the week, if you wish, and you will not find any reference to either Sexy Lee or to the 2022 Leadership Summit.
00:10:02.640
Are they not wanting Sexy Lee to be associated with the organization?
00:10:08.740
These are good questions because, once again, it comes back to what is the prosecution up to with witnesses like this?
00:10:17.200
Witnesses who clearly think they have a financial gain from the Freedom Convoy being in Ottawa.
00:10:27.900
Because the thing is, as I said previously, when we had another member of this lawsuit testify at the trial,
00:10:39.760
why are they blaming their slowdown in sales, the fact that things were not great in downtown Ottawa?
00:10:51.620
Yes, Ottawa was a wasteland in January, February 2022.
00:10:57.420
But largely because of rolling lockdowns from Mayor Jim Watson in Ottawa and Premier Doug Ford in Ontario.
00:11:07.700
They had extremist COVID-19 mandates that included mandatory masking,
00:11:13.760
effectively mandatory vaccines, if you wanted to work or travel.
00:11:26.040
And they were shutting down businesses because they could not operate above 25% capacity.
00:11:34.160
And yes, the economy suffered horribly during that time.
00:11:38.580
And people suffered socially, not being able to get out, not being able to meet with other people.
00:11:49.740
But don't blame the Freedom Convoy protest for that.
00:11:53.040
And to bring all these Ottawa residents forward as prosecution witnesses is ultimately just a dumb strategy.
00:12:02.040
Because you have to wonder what they're trying to do.
00:12:04.860
Find some, some element, something to stick against the convoy and thereby to blame Tamara Leach and Chris Barber.
00:12:15.440
And it's simply not working because a lot of things were blamed on the convoy.
00:12:22.580
If you recall, they were blamed for an arson that never happened.
00:12:26.340
They were blamed for urinating, defecating on the streets, for leaving garbage everywhere.
00:12:33.680
And they were even blamed for dancing on the tomb of the unknown soldier.
00:12:38.180
A woman danced on the tomb of the unknown soldier.
00:12:41.120
And that had to be one of the Freedom Convoy protesters.
00:12:51.460
It was somebody who just came to Ottawa and decided to do something really stupid.
00:12:56.600
And that's what all of this hearsay evidence has come to in the past.
00:13:02.320
And that's what all this hearsay evidence will probably come to right now.
00:13:05.760
Because it's people talking about how horrid the conditions were, but they can't really remember dates or times.
00:13:18.540
We heard of a witness last week, Chantel Viro, who talked about the fact she had experienced unusual smells in the market area.
00:13:29.980
And she listed those as exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, and weed.
00:13:36.680
And anybody who's wandered through the market any other time will know that those three smells are usually present in the market any time of the year.
00:13:51.480
By bringing forth these witnesses to talk about things like this.
00:14:04.420
And yeah, it's about trying to make life miserable for Tamara Leach and Chris Barber.
00:14:11.000
But it's also about a judicial chill to make people too damn afraid to protest Trudeau government policies.
00:14:21.620
Because if you do, if you protest the wrong things, if your free speech is on the wrong side, and if your freedom of assembly is getting together for the wrong policies,
00:14:34.480
then Justin Trudeau and the judicial system is going to punish you for that.
00:14:47.660
Because really, there's not much else here to see.
00:14:50.460
So this has been a fascinating week, again, of Ottawa residents coming forth, basically saying the same thing.
00:15:17.980
And just watch this video for a minute to explain why.
00:15:22.320
Hi, this is David Creighton from Creighton's Right and Stand on Guard.
00:15:31.500
I've been practicing journalism in one form or another for over 30 years.
00:15:37.280
I've worked in print, radio, and television for a lot of prestigious publications and media outlets.
00:15:51.640
And I know how corrupt federal government can be.
00:15:55.440
But you can play a part in opposing Justin Trudeau's government and Justin Trudeau's plans for Canada.
00:16:05.420
You can become a part of the Creighton's right resistance.
00:16:08.680
Now, I urge you today, please support this station in any way you can.
00:16:17.520
Because that ensures you're at least going to continue to be able to watch these episodes.
00:16:25.220
But more importantly, I need your financial support.
00:16:32.260
I'm in a decision to pursue independent media because I believe it was the best possible route for me to take as a journalist and as a concerned citizen of Canada.
00:16:47.760
And at only $5, you can become a part of that on YouTube, on Substack, and with Buy Me a Copy, a one-time donation.
00:17:01.860
If you've already done that, if you're already supporting this station, thank you.
00:17:21.440
We'll be back again real soon with more of the news you need and you want to know.
