00:00:03.000 I'm gonna do something I've yet to do on my YouTube channel, just tell you all a quick story.
00:00:06.000 The first half of this story is actually all on video as part of a web series I made called The Hateful Tape, which nobody watched.
00:00:12.000 But I'm gonna tell you the very quick version of it.
00:00:13.000 If you want more detail, I recommend you watch the video.
00:00:15.000 We're gonna link it in here.
00:00:16.000 Anyway, so me and my brother, we decided a long time ago that there's gonna be lots of pussy at the Eurovision Song Contest.
00:00:21.000 We came to this conclusion because lots of people go there from all around the world.
00:00:23.000 It's pop music, it's bullshit, we thought there'd be some hoes.
00:00:26.000 So we thought, fuck it, one of these days we have to go to Eurovision.
00:00:28.000 Last year it was in Kiev, Ukraine.
00:00:30.000 Ukraine is some of the hottest girls in the world, so we thought, fuck it, we're gonna go to Eurovision, this is the year to do it, we're gonna go to Kiev.
00:00:34.000 We decided this about two days before Eurovision.
00:00:36.000 All the flights into Kiev were completely booked.
00:00:38.000 It was extremely difficult to get into the country.
00:00:40.000 So we thought, how the fuck are we going to do this?
00:00:42.000 Right now we're in Bucharest Romania.
00:00:43.000 This is my house.
00:00:43.000 If you look at a map, we're about six hours from the Moldovan border.
00:00:46.000 So we thought, fuck it.
00:00:47.000 We're going to drive.
00:00:48.000 We jumped in the car, started driving, got six hours to the border of Moldova, and they wouldn't let us through the border because we didn't know at the time.
00:00:55.000 We need to have the original paperwork to go into Moldova because all the cars in Europe that are stolen end up in Moldova.
00:01:00.000 So they're very strict at the borders unless you bribe them, which I tried to do, and they wouldn't accept because they didn't know me.
00:01:04.000 We need to have the original document.
00:01:09.000 We can't, there's no like, Is there a fine or we pay a fine or a penalty?
00:01:15.000 Anything we can do?
00:01:15.000 It's not about a penalty.
00:01:18.000 It's about the car that will not leave the country.
00:01:22.000 You have to have the original paperwork.
00:01:24.000 We only had photocopies of our paperwork.
00:01:26.000 We don't keep the original paperwork in the car.
00:01:28.000 So they wouldn't let us through.
00:01:28.000 So we parked our car at a train station in a town called Jash on the border of Romania.
00:01:33.000 We then went up to a taxi and said, Can you take us to Chisinau, which is the capital of the neighboring country, Moldova?
00:01:37.000 It's effectively being in France and saying, Can you take me to Berlin, the capital of Germany?
00:01:40.000 It's a long taxi drive.
00:01:42.000 Finally found a guy who would do it.
00:01:50.000 For more money than we should have paid.
00:01:52.000 He took us to Kishinev.
00:01:53.000 When we were in Kishinev, we had to negotiate a way to Kiev.
00:01:55.000 We found an overnight train and we got there.
00:01:57.000 Problem is, on that overnight train, I nearly got robbed.
00:01:59.000 That train is completely mafia-run.
00:02:01.000 That train is, you can bribe your way in and out.
00:02:03.000 You don't have to show a passport.
00:02:04.000 You don't have to go through customs.
00:02:05.000 So all the Russian mafia who travel in and out of Romania and Moldova come in and out by train.
00:02:09.000 They do not go by plane.
00:02:11.000 So that's a mafia-run train and that was a very difficult and scary experience.
00:02:14.000 Up until this point, all of this is recorded and part of the Hateful Tate series that we're going to put a link to, so feel free to watch it and find the details of immediately getting robbed, Kishinau, the train, all that shit.
00:02:24.000 So anyway, the web series ends, Eurovision's over, me and my brother are in Ukraine, we've got to get out.
00:02:28.000 So we're like, how the fuck do we get out?
00:02:30.000 All the planes are booked for another week, we don't want to stay in Ukraine for another week.
00:02:33.000 We don't want to take the train again because of what happened the first time.
00:02:36.000 So we're like, well, you can't fly, can't take a train, can't take a boat, the only way is to drive.
00:02:42.000 We've got to drive out here somehow.
00:02:43.000 So we're going from taxi driver to taxi driver to taxi driver saying, can you drive us to Romania?
00:02:47.000 And it turns out that Ukrainians at the time, which has now changed, I believe, needed a visa to get into Romania.
00:02:52.000 So it was very difficult to find a taxi driver with a visa who was prepared to do a fucking 18 hour drive at a whim.
00:02:57.000 So we're sitting around Ukraine for 12 hours.
00:02:59.000 Every taxi driver, I'm ordering Ubers.
00:03:01.000 I'm calling everyone up saying, look, I need to get to Romania.
00:03:03.000 I'll pay a.
00:03:04.000 I mean, I was offering five, six times the market rate.
00:03:08.000 I was saying, look, I'm going to give you two grand.
00:03:10.000 Remember, these people make $250, $300 a month.
00:03:12.000 I was offering them $2,000 for one drive.
00:03:14.000 It's like, get me to fucking Romania.
00:03:15.000 I've got shit to do.
00:03:16.000 I've got to get out of this country.
00:03:18.000 Eventually, a guy, we meet a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy.
00:03:21.000 He says, I have a guy who has a visa to go into Romania, and he's a very good driver.
00:03:27.000 He's an ex rally driver, and he's going to drive you.
00:03:29.000 And we're like, well, thank fuck, let's go.
00:03:32.000 So, anyway, me and my brother, he said, meet us here at this time.
00:03:35.000 So, 11 o'clock at night, me and my brother are standing on a street corner waiting for fucking Mr. No Name to turn up in the middle of Kiev, Ukraine.
00:03:40.000 It's a dangerous city.
00:03:42.000 We're standing there, combat mode, obviously, chilling.
00:03:45.000 The guy turns up.
00:03:46.000 Now, I expected like ex rally driver, some kind of super G to turn up, some little fucking loser turns up, some dude.
00:03:51.000 Must have been about fucking 17.
00:03:53.000 Hi.
00:03:54.000 I'm like, hi, who are you?
00:03:55.000 He goes, oh, I'm your driver.
00:03:56.000 I thought you were a rally driver.
00:03:58.000 He goes, I was a rally driver.
00:03:59.000 Like, when?
00:03:59.000 When you were 12?
00:04:00.000 Like, what the fuck?
00:04:00.000 Since when did you drive when you were 12?
00:04:02.000 Like, whatever.
00:04:03.000 You got a visa?
00:04:03.000 He goes, yeah, I got a visa.
00:04:04.000 We're like, okay.
00:04:05.000 We trust you.
00:04:06.000 So anyway, Mr. 12-year-old decides to drive us.
00:04:08.000 Tristan goes, Tristan's nervous in cars.
00:04:09.000 My brother's been in four car accidents, none of which he's been driving.
00:04:12.000 He's always been the passenger in cars when cars have been wrecked.
00:04:14.000 Car accidents people have died in, like big car accidents.
00:04:17.000 But my brother, being a Tate, doesn't die easy.
00:04:19.000 So he's very nervous in cars.
00:04:20.000 He goes, I'm fucking, I'm a bit nervous.
00:04:21.000 It's an 18-hour car drive.
00:04:22.000 We've got fucking 12-year-old driving us.
00:04:24.000 There's no street lights in Ukraine.
00:04:25.000 Ukraine doesn't even have 3G on the mobile phone.
00:04:28.000 You have to have Wi-Fi.
00:04:29.000 Even if you have a Ukrainian sim, you can't check Facebook, Twitter, nothing.
00:04:32.000 Ukraine is much poorer than Romania.
00:04:33.000 I didn't expect that.
00:04:34.000 Romania's a poor country Ukraine's a fucking poor country.
00:04:37.000 It's a war zone.
00:04:37.000 It's a fucking war.
00:04:38.000 Anyway.
00:04:40.000 So, there's no street lights.
00:04:42.000 The roads are bad.
00:04:42.000 Tristan's a bit nervous.
00:04:43.000 He goes, you know what?
00:04:44.000 This is going to be a long ass drive.
00:04:45.000 Let's get a bottle of vodka.
00:04:45.000 I was like, all right, cool.
00:04:46.000 So, we go into the store.
00:04:47.000 I remember this because of how cheap it was.
00:04:49.000 We've got two Snickers bars, one liter of vodka, two cartons of cherry juice, and a pack of peanuts for two euros.
00:04:56.000 Including the vodka.
00:04:58.000 Including a liter of vodka.
00:04:59.000 Two euros.
00:05:00.000 Fucking crazy cheap.
00:05:01.000 So, we buy the vodka anyway.
00:05:02.000 So, we get the car.
00:05:03.000 We're sitting in the back of the car drinking vodka.
00:05:05.000 We're driving down these roads.
00:05:07.000 Pitch black, can't see shit.
00:05:08.000 We don't know where we are.
00:05:09.000 Our 3G isn't loading on our phones, so we can't see where we are.
00:05:12.000 We're just sitting in the back drinking vodka, talking shit.
00:05:14.000 Mr. Rally driver is telling us about his imaginary rally career.
00:05:16.000 Motherfucker didn't even finish high school.
00:05:18.000 He ain't been rallying for nobody.
00:05:20.000 So we're driving, driving, driving, driving.
00:05:21.000 All of a sudden, me and Tristan, this is about six hours in.
00:05:25.000 Liter of vodka's gone.
00:05:26.000 So between me and T, we've had half a liter each or whatever.
00:05:28.000 We're a little bit drunk.
00:05:29.000 We're chilling.
00:05:30.000 I see someone out the side of the car, blacked out, head to toe black.
00:05:35.000 I said, Tristan, you see that?
00:05:37.000 But it's black out anyway.
00:05:38.000 He's like, what's that?
00:05:39.000 I said, who the fuck is this?
00:05:40.000 We're driving down this bumpy road.
00:05:42.000 Tristan's looking out the window, and there's another dude.
00:05:44.000 Blacked.
00:05:44.000 I mean, black balaclava, black ski mask, black jumpsuit, black head to toe.
00:05:49.000 What the fuck?
00:05:51.000 At this point, me and him are drunk.
00:05:52.000 It's 2 o'clock in the morning.
00:05:53.000 We're on the border of Ukraine.
00:05:54.000 We have no idea where.
00:05:56.000 We're staring at our windows, and we start seeing all these guys dressed in complete fucking black.
00:06:00.000 And Tristan's like, okay.
00:06:00.000 So we say to the rally driver, where are we?
00:06:02.000 He goes, oh, Ukraine.
00:06:05.000 We're like, where in Ukraine?
00:06:06.000 Now, I had a friend who once got robbed in Ukraine.
00:06:08.000 He got into the back of a taxi, and the taxi driver was driving.
00:06:11.000 The taxi driver stopped.
00:06:12.000 two guys got in each side of him while he was in the back, both with knives, put the knives to him and robbed him.
00:06:19.000 So I thought, okay, so we're about to get fucking robbed.
00:06:21.000 So I said to the rally driver, I said, my friend, you better fucking hope I get home.
00:06:25.000 He's like, what?
00:06:25.000 I said, you better fucking hope I get home alive.
00:06:27.000 I'm not the kind of guy you want to fuck with.
00:06:29.000 Even if you kill me, you better hope I get home alive.
00:06:30.000 So I start threatening the taxi driver.
00:06:31.000 I'm making it clear.
00:06:32.000 I ain't dying easy.
00:06:33.000 If I die, I'm taking you with me, you fucking loser.
00:06:35.000 I thought he was about to set me up.
00:06:36.000 Anyway, all of a sudden, car stops.
00:06:38.000 Get out of the car, get out of the car.
00:06:39.000 Here are all these people getting out of the car.
00:06:41.000 Me and Tristan look at each other like, for fuck's sake.
00:06:43.000 Like, we should have known better.
00:06:45.000 This is Ukraine.
00:06:46.000 Shit's about to go down.
00:06:48.000 So we get out the car.
00:06:49.000 The people who are dressed head to toe in black turns out are Russian soldiers.
00:06:53.000 All Russian soldiers.
00:06:55.000 I'm going to give you all a quick geography lesson because I didn't know any of this geography up until this event, which I researched post.
00:07:02.000 So here's the geography lesson.
00:07:03.000 When the USSR fell in the early 1990s, Moldova was being established as a country.
00:07:07.000 There's part of Moldova that wanted to remain pro Russian.
00:07:10.000 Moldova is like half Romania, half Russia.
00:07:12.000 Half the people speak Romanian, half the people speak Russian.
00:07:14.000 It was all part of the USSR, meaning it spoke Russian.
00:07:16.000 When the USSR fell, the Romanians gained influence, and all the Russian population were afraid that when they Country officially changes to a Romanian speaking government, they're going to steal all the money, which is exactly what they did because it's a corrupt country.
00:07:27.000 So the Russians wanted to remain part of Russia, so a civil war kicked off.
00:07:30.000 And to this day, even though this war was in 1992, there's an area of Moldova called Transnistria which wants to be part of Russia, which isn't part of Russia, like a Crimea breakaway micronation, it's about 20 or 30 kilometers in length.
00:07:42.000 Tiny little dot on the map, which I'd never fucking heard of up until this point.
00:07:47.000 So me and my brother get out the car, Russian soldiers from head to toe, blacked out.
00:07:51.000 And not just soldiers, not like you imagine a soldier with a green thing on and a gun.
00:07:55.000 Special forces.
00:07:56.000 Blacked out.
00:07:57.000 And the reason they were there is because all the Crimea war shit was just going down at this time.
00:08:01.000 The Crimea Peninsula and all this crap.
00:08:03.000 In fact, I read it when I was researching posts that the European Union was concerned that the next place Russia would annex would be Transnistria because they had such a pro Russian mindset.
00:08:12.000 So the Russian government has kept a military presence there since 1992, and it was fucking loaded with Russian soldiers.
00:08:17.000 We just got the car with our hands up, they got guns pointed at us, we're like, yeah, who the fuck are you?
00:08:22.000 Like, this is more than just a routine robbery.
00:08:24.000 They even had our Mr. fucking rally driver at gunpoint.
00:08:26.000 So we're all at gunpoint.
00:08:29.000 They'd take us, arrest us, march us, sit us down in this room.
00:08:33.000 And they're like, who?
00:08:34.000 Firstly, they start talking to us in Russian.
00:08:35.000 It was like, my friend, we don't speak Russian.
00:08:37.000 It was a good 10-minute conversation with them yelling at us in Russian and us saying we don't speak Russian until they finally agreed to find someone who spoke English.
00:08:44.000 I don't think they even believed we didn't speak Russian.
00:08:46.000 I think they were sure we spoke Russian before they finally conceded, left the room, these two big fucking guys, and got some other fucking huge dude to come sit down with his broken-ass English.
00:08:55.000 And he said, what are you doing here?
00:08:57.000 I said, what am I doing where?
00:08:59.000 I'm trying to go back to Romania.
00:09:01.000 He said, where did you come from?
00:09:02.000 I said, The Eurovision Song Contest.
00:09:04.000 So, what the fuck else?
00:09:05.000 Now, probably a lot of times people have looked at me like I'm a dickhead in my life, but the biggest, the most important event in my life, or the time I was looked at like the biggest dickhead ever, was this Russian soldier looking at me and my brother, three o'clock in the morning in the middle of a fucking micronation war zone, and I said, I've been there, I'm there because of the Eurovision Song Contest.
00:09:22.000 He looked at me and he's like, this guy's either the biggest idiot I've ever met, or a brave motherfucker.
00:09:27.000 Anyway, by completely terrible coincidence, our brother and I were wearing black.
00:09:31.000 We had black t shirts on, I had black jeans, he had black jogging buttons on.
00:09:34.000 He said, Why are you dressed in black?
00:09:36.000 I said, I don't know, man.
00:09:37.000 We just got a taxi from Ukraine.
00:09:38.000 We're trying to go back to Romania.
00:09:39.000 He goes, You're impersonating soldiers.
00:09:41.000 It's three o'clock in the morning.
00:09:43.000 You're pretending you come from Eurovision.
00:09:44.000 You're dressed in black.
00:09:45.000 What are you doing here?
00:09:46.000 So they accused us of being American spies.
00:09:49.000 Like, we're not spies.
00:09:50.000 We just want to go back to Romania.
00:09:51.000 We're sitting there in the interview room.
00:09:53.000 They come in.
00:09:54.000 Now, let me tell you one thing that did actually cross my mind because I'm a combatant individual.
00:09:57.000 That's what I do.
00:09:57.000 This is what I did for a living.
00:09:58.000 So it always crosses my mind to fight.
00:10:00.000 It always crosses my mind thinking, okay, this situation's pretty bad.
00:10:03.000 Can I fight my way out of this?
00:10:04.000 There's two guys in the room with me, both armed.
00:10:06.000 They're both big guys, but I could probably take them hand to hand because it's close combat.
00:10:09.000 But once I get out, There's fucking like 30 guys.
00:10:12.000 They had attack dogs, Rottweilers, the whole fucking lot.
00:10:14.000 So there's no way I can fight my way out of this.
00:10:16.000 All I can do is try and like go along with the fucking process.
00:10:18.000 They bring our suitcases out the car.
00:10:19.000 They pour all our shit on the floor.
00:10:21.000 The dogs start going through our suitcases.
00:10:23.000 These guys start ruffling through our stuff.
00:10:25.000 They search me and Tristan.
00:10:26.000 We had to take our t shirt off, take our jeans off.
00:10:29.000 We're standing there in our fucking underwear, handcuffed in a fucking little booth.
00:10:33.000 I'm going to try and Google and find a picture of the exact spot so you can see it.
00:10:37.000 A little booth in Transnistria, being accused of being American spies.
00:10:40.000 We have American and British passports at 3 o'clock in the morning.
00:10:42.000 We're in a micronation breakaway.
00:10:44.000 I was desperate to get on my phone.
00:10:45.000 The reason for this is I just actually met Donald Trump Jr. about a month or a month and a half before this.
00:10:50.000 So I have him on WhatsApp.
00:10:52.000 He's my boy.
00:10:53.000 And I've got two or three very important Romanian politicians, high level, like Secretary of State, etc., on WhatsApp.
00:10:57.000 So I thought, if I can just get to my WhatsApp and just send some messages, the Russian, they're going to want to kill me.
00:11:01.000 I mean, they're going to keep me for a while.
00:11:02.000 This might go on a few weeks.
00:11:04.000 Let me just get on WhatsApp and speak to some important people and try and get the fuck out of here.
00:11:07.000 So I was saying, look, guys, just give me my phone.
00:11:09.000 I've got a guy in Romania who can speak Romanian and Russian, and you can talk to him, and he'll explain to you that I'm not a spy.
00:11:15.000 I'm just a fucking idiot.
00:11:16.000 Who went to a shitty song contest and got in the wrong taxi?
00:11:19.000 My taxi driver, Mr. Moron, decided to drive through a fucking war zone.
00:11:23.000 I didn't know.
00:11:23.000 I didn't know this was still technically a war.
00:11:24.000 I had no fucking idea.
00:11:26.000 I look at the rally guy who was kept separate to me and T.
00:11:28.000 I kept looking out the window and the rally guy was still out on the gravel road.
00:11:31.000 So I should have known not to trust a 12 year old.
00:11:33.000 He's standing outside with a gun pointed at his head, fucking wet in his pants.
00:11:36.000 Me and Tristan are sitting there, arrested in our underwear, handcuffed, saying, Look, we're not spies, we're not spies.
00:11:41.000 Why are you dressed like soldiers?
00:11:42.000 We're not spies.
00:11:43.000 Anyway, I sat and said to the guy, Look, let me get my phone, I'll make some phone calls and this will go away.
00:11:48.000 He says, You're not going to touch your phone for a very long time.
00:11:50.000 I said, my friend.
00:11:52.000 He said, don't call me your friend.
00:11:53.000 He said, fine.
00:11:54.000 I'm not a spy.
00:11:56.000 I'm an idiot.
00:11:57.000 Just take the money that's in my bag and let me go.
00:12:00.000 And this is what I love about corrupt countries.
00:12:02.000 He didn't say yes or no.
00:12:04.000 He turned to his friend and said something in Russian.
00:12:07.000 They spoke in Russian for a few seconds, and I can guess what he said.
00:12:09.000 He said, count how much money's in his bag.
00:12:11.000 They went in my bag, and they started going through my bag looking for money.
00:12:14.000 And they went through it, and they found about 7,000 American dollars.
00:12:17.000 And they sat there, and he goes, I never instantly!
00:12:20.000 There was no pretending that they weren't going to do it.
00:12:22.000 They found the 7,000.
00:12:23.000 It was actually quite nice of them, because they could have just took it and kept me, to be fair.
00:12:27.000 But I guess, you know, they were men of honor.
00:12:29.000 He goes, okay, here's the deal.
00:12:31.000 I never want to see you again.
00:12:32.000 I was like, trust me, my friend, I guarantee you're never going to see me again.
00:12:37.000 They took the 7,000, they let us put our clothes back on, they loaded us back in the taxi with the dork, and they escorted us out with one of those fucking Humvee trucks with guns pointing us the entire time straight out to fucking Tiraspol or wherever we were.
00:12:50.000 So, what's the moral of this story?
00:12:51.000 The moral of this story is quite a few morals.
00:12:54.000 One, don't take the train from Kishinev to Kiev if you want to live.
00:12:56.000 Two, don't take taxis from Kiev to anywhere if you want to live.
00:12:59.000 Don't go to war zone.
00:13:00.000 Stay out of that part of the world.
00:13:02.000 This is a part of the world that no one goes to.
00:13:03.000 I live in a part of the world that basically no one goes to.
00:13:05.000 And then I go a little bit further to the area where literally nobody goes.
00:13:09.000 No one speaks English.
00:13:10.000 There's no big Americans there.
00:13:11.000 I live here because I make money here.
00:13:13.000 But really, it's a crazy part of the world.
00:13:15.000 The reason I'm telling this story is because me and my brother and I are due to go back there in two days.
00:13:19.000 We tried to avoid going.
00:13:20.000 But a friend of ours invited us.
00:13:21.000 He said, Look, we've got some work there.
00:13:23.000 We've got some business there.
00:13:23.000 You're going to make some money.
00:13:25.000 On top of that, there's a miniskirt competition.
00:13:26.000 I mean, come on.
00:13:27.000 Who doesn't want to go to a miniskirt competition in a war zone?
00:13:29.000 Like, what the fuck?
00:13:30.000 Like, there's a whole bunch of beautiful ass women who can't escape.
00:13:33.000 And they've got miniskirt competitions.
00:13:34.000 It's a crazy place.
00:13:35.000 No one goes there.
00:13:36.000 Nobody goes here.
00:13:38.000 I know I've given all of you a geography lesson.
00:13:40.000 None of you have heard of this place, for sure.
00:13:41.000 And now you're all on Google, like, what the fuck?
00:13:43.000 So, anyway, I'm going there in two days' time.
00:13:45.000 Hopefully, I don't run into my friend, the border guard.
00:13:47.000 This time, I've actually got a visa.
00:13:48.000 I've been, I've seen my boys in Romania.
00:13:49.000 I've got a high level visa, Romanian visa, saying, look, he's a diplomat, he's allowed to come, blah, blah, blah.
00:13:54.000 So, hopefully, they'll let me in and out with ease.
00:13:56.000 But, subscribe, because everything that goes down while I'm there in a couple days' time is going to end up on the YouTube channel.
00:14:01.000 That's exclusive, so you have to be subscription, otherwise, you're not going to get it.
00:14:04.000 Subscribe for that, and if you want any more details on this amazing story, Like I said, watch the Hateful Tate series and you'll see everything that went down.
