Summary

Joe Biden gets home field advantage from the depths of his own basement in a virtual debate. A man who was supposed to deliver mail to a polling place instead faces one count of obstruction of justice and could be sent to prison for a crime that could have been committed in 1929.

00:00:00.000 You ever watch this guy on television?
00:00:03.840 You all were not telling the truth and you should not be trusted.
00:00:06.600 Congressman Matt Gaetz, thank you for what you did for your country tonight.
00:00:09.340 Be offended with the Democratic whip, not House of Republicans.
00:00:12.300 Like a machine, Matt Gaetz.
00:00:16.000 Welcome to Hot Takes. I'm Congressman Matt Gaetz.
00:00:18.760 Let's talk about the news.
00:00:20.460 The Presidential Debate Commission, unyielding in its demand that the debate be a virtual meeting of the candidates
00:00:28.760 rather than the live and in-person debate that the president has requested
00:00:32.940 and that the commission originally contemplated.
00:00:35.560 But Joe Biden, presumably getting home field advantage from the depths of his own basement,
00:00:41.140 staring into a Zoom camera lens.
00:00:43.260 I was on the Sean Hannity program last night to discuss. Take a listen.
00:00:46.920 You reported on the Commission on Presidential Debates, Sean,
00:00:49.520 and I have to say the Commission on Presidential Debates looks more like a boring Washington, D.C. dinner party
00:00:55.480 than it does real America.
00:00:57.140 I would almost rather let the cast of Love Island set the rules for the next debates.
00:01:01.660 And of course, the commission, which represents the elite,
00:01:04.680 wants to give Joe Biden the home field advantage of a Zoom call from his own basement.
00:01:09.940 But when the jobs of Americans are on the line, when our national security is on the line,
00:01:15.000 you don't get to Zoom in to those meetings.
00:01:17.000 You have to show up.
00:01:18.440 And whether people like or dislike the president, they can see from the debates
00:01:21.620 he is a person in command and he will fight with everything he has
00:01:25.620 for the great people of this country, for our success and our enduring prosperity.
00:01:29.880 And it's true that the Presidential Debate Commission is a biased organization.
00:01:34.900 Check out the recent story in revolver.news highlighting the associations and relationships
00:01:40.900 that even the purported Republicans on the Presidential Debate Commission
00:01:45.400 have to sum up the top color revolution organizations linked to the Steele dossier and more.
00:01:53.160 Kayleigh McEnany tweeted,
00:01:55.060 the Commission on Presidential Debates is little more than a commission to real elect Joe Biden.
00:02:00.180 And I think that that would be a fair criticism.
00:02:03.760 The Revolver News piece criticizes Frank Ferenkopp, the co-chair of the Commission on Presidential Debates.
00:02:09.540 And while at first glance, it might appear that he's a Republican Party type guy,
00:02:14.620 he is long associated with the groups that curated, disseminated, shared, reviewed the Steele dossier,
00:02:25.280 specifically the International Republican Institute linked to well-famed, neoconservative John McCain.
00:02:33.100 And so check out the piece in revolver.
00:02:35.420 You'll see the bias there.
00:02:36.940 You see the bias reported by Kayleigh.
00:02:39.220 And the president also, I think, is correctly focused on having a fair debate.
00:02:44.480 He joined us on the Sean Hannity program to discuss that matter and much more regarding his health and the country.
00:02:50.660 Here's the president.
00:02:51.300 We'll see what happens.
00:02:52.380 But, no, I'm not interested in doing a virtual—I'm not Joe Biden.
00:02:56.680 I'm not going to do a virtual debate, sit behind a computer screen.
00:02:59.900 And that gives him the answers because they'll be handing him the answers, just like he gets when he asks—
00:03:04.780 I mean, he does news conferences.
00:03:06.120 He does them, and they give him the answer, and they give him the question, and they give him what kind of a news conference.
00:03:12.360 I thought Mike was great, legitimately.
00:03:14.500 I don't mean because he's with me and he's my friend and he's done a great job as vice president.
00:03:18.660 I thought he was great.
00:03:19.500 But he's a calm person.
00:03:22.240 We're really a good combination.
00:03:23.680 A lot of people have said that for a long time.
00:03:25.600 I mean, he's a calm person.
00:03:27.500 He's a good person.
00:03:29.660 And he was just—he couldn't believe some of the things she was saying.
00:03:33.680 And he really didn't.
00:03:34.380 He couldn't believe it, what she was saying.
00:03:36.080 Nobody's ever gotten the cuts that I got.
00:03:37.740 I got the biggest tax cuts ever given, as you know, Sean, better than probably most.
00:03:41.920 But he's going to end those tax cuts and reverse them, and now people are going to pay $2,000 plus child tax credits, all that.
00:03:50.840 It's going to be a disaster for our country.
00:03:53.100 It's going to put our country into a depression.
00:03:56.380 And your 401ks are going to go down the tubes, and your jobs are going to go away,
00:04:01.180 and you're going to have a depression the likes of which our country has never seen before, and that possibly includes 1929.
00:04:11.640 Mail-in balloting is continuing to show its frailty.
00:04:15.240 This news comes out of Channel 8 ABC in Newark, New Jersey.
00:04:20.140 U.S. postal worker in New Jersey arrested, accused of dumping mail and election ballots.
00:04:26.660 There were hundreds of pieces of mail, about 100 ballots that a 26-year-old New Jersey resident was supposed to deliver,
00:04:36.860 and instead faces one count of obstruction of the mail.
00:04:41.280 Well, that could be as much as a $250,000 fine and six months in prison.
00:04:47.500 So we'll continue to follow the story, but here in New Jersey, yet another example of mail-in balloting,
00:04:53.400 showing that it's no panacea, that really, honestly, the best way to vote may be live and in person.
00:05:01.080 Now, for those who request a ballot, receive a ballot, return a ballot, can verify the receipt of that ballot,
00:05:07.780 that it's been properly voted, like for those in the state of Florida,
00:05:11.280 I think this still can be very much a reliable system,
00:05:14.500 but in New Jersey and in places where ballots are just being sent out indiscriminately,
00:05:19.120 we really may have a question about the legitimacy of the vote,
00:05:23.560 and that's why we must watch things very carefully and report when we see suspicious activity like this.
00:05:29.420 It looks like President Trump will be cleared for public events as soon as Saturday.
00:05:38.700 The physician, Dr. Sean Connolly, writing a memo to Kayleigh McEnany,
00:05:43.840 since returning home, his physical exam has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness.
00:05:52.560 Overall, he's responded extremely well to treatment without evidence on examination of adverse therapeutic effects.
00:06:00.780 Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday's diagnosis,
00:06:04.780 and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting,
00:06:09.580 I fully anticipate the president's safe return to public engagements at that time.
00:06:15.440 Safe return to public engagements by Saturday, direct from Dr. Connolly.
00:06:21.460 Great to see our president doing so well and so eager to get back to fighting for our great country.
00:06:28.060 Another story we've picked up from one of our favorite aggregators at Revolver.News
00:06:36.520 shows the extent to which people participating in these riots and protests are able to do destruction
00:06:44.380 and not face any consequence, not face any real accounting for the damage that they would do to other people.
00:06:52.440 The story in Revolver.News shows that while wildfires have ended Portland's streak of nightly demonstrations,
00:07:00.500 police still arrested more than 200 people the other night.
00:07:03.980 But, and I'm quoting here from the article,
00:07:06.160 Indeed, most of the suspects had their charges dropped or dismissed, some as soon as the day after their arrest.
00:07:12.480 As of October 5, charges had been dropped in around 90% of the cases stemming from September's protest activity.
00:07:21.280 90% of the cases where there had been an arrest, and remember, there weren't even arrests in every circumstance
00:07:27.740 where there was arson or violence or destruction of property or harm to our fellow Americans.
00:07:33.800 But even in the cases where there was an arrest, here now this analysis showing as much as 90% of the charges
00:07:43.660 dropped some even the day after the arrest.
00:07:46.620 And I want to take this moment to just stress the importance of voting.
00:07:51.720 Now, I know plenty of people who live in states where they just think,
00:07:55.180 oh, well, my vote doesn't matter because maybe I live in a really blue state and I intend to vote red,
00:08:01.600 and so why even bother?
00:08:03.440 Well, you know, up and down the ballot, there are people running for everything from state attorney
00:08:08.720 to city council to mayor, and we need votes for people who I think understand the difference
00:08:16.460 between the American way of life and this violent, dangerous mob that we've seen in places like Portland.
00:08:24.520 And so, you know, please get out and make sure that you're supporting the candidates
00:08:28.900 that support our brave men and women in law enforcement,
00:08:31.640 and that we do not allow the destruction that we saw in Portland to spread to our great nation.
00:08:42.100 Something big is happening, or maybe not happening,
00:08:45.900 in the Trump administration's fight against big tech tyranny, big tech bias,
00:08:51.700 and it's a bias against free speech and an exchange of ideas.
00:08:55.560 I have long said that Congress will not regulate big tech because Congress is bought off by big tech
00:09:03.840 through political donations, PAC fundraisers, but also you have members of the families of lawmakers
00:09:12.240 getting big jobs with big tech.
00:09:15.220 And so, obviously, you're not going to see entities regulated where they have such a grip
00:09:20.580 on the people who could do the regulation in elected office.
00:09:24.060 That's why I've advised President Trump to use his appointment powers to the Federal Election Commission,
00:09:31.080 the Federal Communication Commission, and get people on those entities that will demand
00:09:36.280 the transparency and accountability, and that will bring the might of our government to bear
00:09:41.780 on behalf of our people, not these big tech oligarchs.
00:09:46.100 And you know what?
00:09:46.660 President Trump is trying to do just that.
00:09:49.220 President Trump is set to nominate an FCC commissioner, Nathan Symington,
00:09:54.920 who isn't part of the big tech mafia in Washington.
00:09:59.240 Breitbart News has a good story that we'll share on social media.
00:10:03.260 We don't know him.
00:10:04.920 Lobbyists nervous about Trump's FCC nominee, and by all accounts, they should be nervous
00:10:10.480 because in Mr. Symington, you have someone who I think is prepared and capable to take
00:10:17.340 on big tech.
00:10:18.600 Tucker Carlson had commentary on this and a good amount of criticism for those who are
00:10:23.660 unwilling to take up and vote on this nomination.
00:10:26.580 Here's Tucker.
00:10:27.100 Republicans still control the Senate, so you would imagine they'd be busy confirming the
00:10:30.880 president's nominees while they're still able to.
00:10:33.240 But they're not.
00:10:34.900 In some cases, they are blocking conservatives from getting appointments, even now.
00:10:40.060 Here's one example.
00:10:41.020 A month ago, the president nominated a man called Nathan Symington to serve on the FCC.
00:10:46.140 If you're worried about the unchallenged power of big tech, and you should be, you ought to
00:10:50.920 support Symington's appointment.
00:10:53.320 But Senate Republicans do not support it.
00:10:55.380 They are sitting on his nomination.
00:10:57.240 They are hoping instead they'll be able to confirm a Joe Biden appointee next year.
00:11:01.700 The president has complained about this, including on Twitter, but they've ignored him.
00:11:06.800 Remember that.
00:11:07.920 The next time you hear Republicans in Washington pretend that they care about free speech,
00:11:13.220 pretend they're going to do something about the shocking abuse of the tech monopolies.
00:11:18.200 Right now, they have a chance to help fix that problem, but they're refusing to do anything.
00:11:26.060 The FBI has thwarted an attempt to kidnap the governor of Michigan.
00:11:31.700 Governor Whitmer.
00:11:32.900 The president had strong and colorful reaction to this, tweeting,
00:11:37.120 Governor Whitmer of Michigan has done a terrible job.
00:11:40.420 She locked down her state for everyone except her husband's boating activities.
00:11:45.180 The federal government provided tremendous help to the great people of Michigan.
00:11:49.120 My Department of Justice and federal law enforcement announced today that
00:11:52.520 they foiled a dangerous plot against the governor of Michigan.
00:11:55.340 Rather than say thank you, she calls me a white supremacist, while Biden and Democrats refuse
00:12:01.060 to condemn Antifa, anarchists, looters, and mobs that burn down Democrat-run cities.
00:12:07.360 I do not tolerate any extreme violence.
00:12:10.940 Defending all Americans, even those who oppose and attack me, is what I will always do as your
00:12:18.280 president.
00:12:19.320 Governor Whitmer, open up your state, open up your schools, and open up your churches.
00:12:24.600 Some in the media were quick to blame the president for the effort to kidnap the governor of Michigan
00:12:32.040 because the perpetrators were white males.
00:12:34.880 So because they were white males, they obviously had to have every negative thought, feeling,
00:12:40.140 or plan they've had inspired by President Trump.
00:12:43.480 Give me a break.
00:12:45.320 OAN's Jack Posobiec had some reporting.
00:12:48.060 He showed some of the video of one of the planners, one of the perpetrators.
00:12:54.360 Does this guy sound pro-Trump to you?
00:12:56.440 Take a listen.
00:12:57.460 Trump is not your friend, dude.
00:13:00.560 And it amazes me that people actually believe that when he's shown over and over and over again
00:13:08.700 that he's a tyrant.
00:13:10.120 Every single person that works for government is your enemy.
00:13:14.820 The media owes President Trump an apology.
00:13:17.960 Governor Whitmer likely owes the president an apology for blaming him.
00:13:22.360 It was the president who stepped in, fought against these anti-government anarchists, the
00:13:27.520 same type of anarchists who are burning our cities and causing harm to our people.
00:13:32.780 Thank you, President Trump, and let this be a reminder, perhaps not to just jump to conclusions
00:13:38.020 based on someone's gender or the color of their skin.
00:13:44.400 Former Acting Director of National Intelligence, my good friend Rick Grinnell, posted an image
00:13:50.700 of the ballot fraud, the ballot mismanagement in the mail-in system going on in California.
00:13:56.940 He showed how the right mail, the right ballots weren't being sent to the right people,
00:14:01.820 and Twitter locked him out for it.
00:14:04.860 That's right, Breitbart has the story, Twitter locks out account of Rick Grinnell over voter
00:14:09.840 fraud warning.
00:14:10.860 Twitter locks out account of the former Acting Director of National Intelligence after he
00:14:14.420 shared an image of ballots sent to him by a friend living in California who says they
00:14:20.260 were addressed to his parents, who he claims have been dead for 10 years.
00:14:26.260 So folks who have been dead for 10 years get ballots sent to him.
00:14:29.960 Rick Grinnell exposes it, and then Twitter locks him out of his account.
00:14:34.640 This is proof that big tech is putting their thumb on the scale.
00:14:39.140 They're trying not to arbitrate the truth, but to hide the truth.
00:14:43.480 Thank you, Ambassador Grinnell, for getting the information out before the people.
00:14:48.160 We need to take action to make sure that the big tech oligarchs cannot limit what people see
00:14:53.600 and analyze to draw their own conclusions about the world around us.
00:14:59.060 Thanks for listening to Hot Takes.
00:15:00.840 I'm Congressman Matt Gaetz.
00:15:02.600 We have had just enormous growth in our listenership this last week.
00:15:06.320 I want to thank everyone who shares our content, who subscribes, and who checks in each and every
00:15:12.340 day for our commentary, for the news, and for the hottest of hot takes.
00:15:17.120 We'll see you next time.
