00:00:27.400 their hot take is that there remains a path to victory for the president that path is obviously

00:00:33.760 more narrow this morning than it was last night i want to go through some of the specific states

00:00:39.720 and what the president's campaign and legal team are saying right now georgia is a state that we

00:00:46.440 remain confident that we're going to win uh same with north carolina that brings us to arizona now

00:00:53.520 in arizona the day of maricopa county vote has not been fully brought in that was a vote that was

00:01:01.160 going substantially toward the president the model that the trump campaign just provided to me

00:01:08.320 showed that we could win arizona by about 30 000 votes when all of the votes are counted that brings

00:01:16.020 us to nevada nevada is a state that a lot of people didn't think the president would really be

00:01:21.000 competitive in obviously his improved position with hispanic voters brought him into a competitive

00:01:27.800 posture in the state of nevada and the late mail-in ballot in nevada seems to be coming the president's

00:01:35.440 way down about 8 000 votes now so it is a narrow path in nevada but there remains a path in nevada for

00:01:43.000 the president to be able to take those electoral votes that brings us to the midwest right now in

00:01:47.440 michigan and wisconsin we are in recount territory the reason that's important is because the trump

00:01:53.380 campaign has confirmed to me that there were ballot drops in michigan where joe biden got 100 percent of

00:02:01.900 the vote that is just statistically impossible and so as we get into recounts we will be able to

00:02:08.640 ascertain the legitimacy of ballots to a greater extent we'll be prepared to litigate with great vigor

00:02:15.960 in both wisconsin and michigan both appear heading for a recount but if the president wins

00:02:22.020 pennsylvania georgia north carolina arizona he gets to 270 and so pennsylvania really is where a lot of

00:02:31.040 the action is the president holds over 500 000 vote lead and throughout the day there are expected to

00:02:37.260 be ballot drops that will cut into that lead the president needs to do a little bit better on the

00:02:43.920 splits than he's doing now in pennsylvania to win it so there needs to be improvement in pennsylvania

00:02:49.180 for the president if the splits continue as they are joe biden could have a very narrow 50 000 vote

00:02:55.660 lead in the granite state but our hope is that we will see a little improvement on those splits and we

00:03:01.760 may as the president sees some of the areas of pennsylvania come in that might be a little more

00:03:08.360 republican so that is the that is really the working theory of the case right now from the trump campaign

00:03:14.320 recount in wisconsin and michigan feel pretty confident about georgia and north carolina and

00:03:20.880 then in pennsylvania and arizona there still are votes coming in in nevada still votes coming in

00:03:26.800 and we may see a change this is all very fluid that's why i'm going to try to get this episode posted

00:03:38.640 ballots last night i was overwhelmingly re-elected to the house of representatives in my florida panhandle

00:03:47.700 district receiving just about two-thirds of the vote this is the fifth time in a row i've been on the

00:03:54.700 ballot and received about two-thirds of the vote or higher and it is very heartwarming to have my bosses

00:04:01.740 my employers really the board of directors for my service the people who live in my district

00:04:07.820 give me such an overwhelming show of support and it seems as though folks are pleased with the

00:04:13.900 representation they've received i've represented the florida panhandle in one capacity or another

00:04:19.020 for a decade i've led the finance and tax committee in the florida house of representatives where

00:04:25.140 we cut taxes by over a billion dollars and in congress i worked with president trump

00:04:30.620 to ensure that i preserve my district and its way of life by blocking offshore oil drilling for another

00:04:38.740 10 years president trump signing that executive order i think it was one of the reasons why he did

00:04:44.580 very very well with no major party voting floridians a lot of those folks care deeply about the

00:04:50.740 environment the military mission and to ensure that we have another 10 years of protection

00:04:56.400 for our way of life for our property values for all that we do to research test and evaluate the

00:05:05.400 next generation of munition systems for our military it is very very rewarding and to have been a part of

00:05:12.180 service for this district for the last 10 years has certainly been the honor of my life and last

00:05:18.180 evening to receive such an overwhelming victory validates i think a lot of the policy choices we've made

00:05:24.800 in serving this community but also the style the fighting style the individual who ran against me in the

00:05:31.620 election ran almost exclusively a negative campaign he raised more than 1.6 million dollars and we didn't

00:05:39.040 run a single advertisement because i trust the people of northwest florida and it appears they trust me

00:05:44.840 so i guess you know to err is human but to whoop your opponent by 25 points or more certainly divine

00:05:53.080 uber and lyft drivers will remain independent contractors in the state of california this is a

00:06:02.720 major development actually because uber is pulling out of markets where state governments have passed

00:06:08.420 laws designating their drivers employees and then subjecting them to all of the employer employee

00:06:15.080 regulations in those states but the way i view an independent contractor is someone who gets to choose

00:06:21.680 when they work and when they don't who sets their own hours their own location of working and

00:06:27.140 certainly uber lyft drivers would have the ability to do that so they seem to fit the definition of

00:06:33.140 independent contractors proposition 22 in california passes allowing that to maintain so if you need a ride

00:06:41.580 a lyft an uber anywhere looks like in the state of california you'll still be able to get one

00:06:48.220 however the votes are ultimately counted in the presidential contest it does not appear

00:06:56.080 that 2021 will be the year we are inaugurating president kanye west that's right kanye spent

00:07:03.320 millions of dollars of his own money he got into the race late received about 60 000 votes for president

00:07:59.420 i'm deeply concerned that wide scale changes to minimum wage laws could result in job losses

00:09:26.760 legalized marijuana and south dakota created a legal marijuana regime so while it might have been a

00:09:35.020 rough night for republicans in some places it was a good night for drugs

00:09:40.500 there was an interesting piece in variety i wanted to touch on fox ceo lachlan murdoch was interviewed and

00:09:50.960 lachlan suggests that in the days following the result of this election being sorted out we may see

00:09:57.620 a diminished interest in news he was addressing a number of the fox news shareholders and investors

00:10:04.420 and while fox news maintains a great deal of primacy in the new space as a result of i think cornering the

00:10:11.200 conservative market to date they think that you could see a reduced interest in the news

00:10:17.100 reduced demand for advertising and so it'll be interesting to watch i don't necessarily hold

00:10:21.860 that opinion i think americans are hyper engaged and they're not going to dramatically diminish that
