The Anchormen Show with Matt Gaetz - Episode 168 LIVE： Moms For Liberty To The Rescue (feat. Catalina Stubbe) – Firebrand with Matt Gaetz

00:00:00.000 matt gates the biggest firebrand inside of the house of representatives you're not taking matt

00:00:08.440 gates off the board okay because matt gates is an american patriot and matt gates is an american

00:00:13.760 hero we will not continue to allow the uniparty to run this town without a fight i want to thank 1.00

00:00:20.920 you matt gates for holding the line matt gates is a courageous man if we had hundreds of matt gates

00:00:28.360 in dc the country turns around it's that simple he's so tough he's so strong he's smart and he

00:00:35.100 loves this country matt gates it is the honor of my life to fight alongside each and every one of you

00:00:42.920 we will save america it's choose your fighter time send in the firebrands 0.76

00:00:48.880 are you all on the same page no what do you mean you're not on the same page

00:00:59.460 not even in the same book was before president biden

00:01:03.220 welcome back to firebrand i'm congressman matt gates that was congressman steve cohen democrat

00:01:12.340 from memphis tennessee leaving a meeting with house democrats discussing the future of president

00:01:17.700 biden his mental capacity his ability to continue as the democratic nominee and they're not even on

00:01:23.700 the same book that's the response from congressman cohen when asked whether democrats are on the same

00:01:28.000 page regarding president biden i can just tell you from inside the halls of congress where we're

00:01:33.640 currently broadcasting from room 2021 of the rayburn house office building here at the capitol complex

00:01:38.900 it is like a funeral mentality democrats had this long strategy meeting this morning it did not appear

00:01:45.860 that they came out of that with any consensus last night biden was shoring up his base with the congressional

00:01:51.020 black caucus that's typically where he enjoys his strongest sentiment of support among congressional

00:01:56.460 democrats but then there are frontliners then there are those in you know districts that are very purple

00:02:01.940 that could swing to the right or to the left and they are not as confident now there are members of the

00:02:07.360 congressional black caucus who are also frontliners but a majority of the congressional black caucus

00:02:12.000 they are in districts that are very safe democrat seats and so their experience is different than

00:02:18.340 those who feel as though the strength of the presidential ticket is going to affect their own

00:02:23.280 ability to serve in the united states house of representatives and then there are members who are not

00:02:29.280 frontliners typically but now might be so consider this you're a democrat member of congress maybe you

00:02:35.860 have a cook political rating of like a d8 or d12 that would mean that you typically win your

00:02:41.880 contest by eight 12 percentage points that group of members is not used to being in a full-on

00:02:49.700 election battle come november and now they're starting to get memos from their pollsters from

00:02:56.660 their consultants saying joe biden's running even in our district where he used to be an updraft

00:03:02.180 now that could put downward pressure on the ability of democrats running for the senate the house

00:03:07.360 even further down ballot to be successful in some of those elections and so that is shaping how

00:03:14.100 democrats are viewing the work that we're doing on capitol hill it's also shaping how republicans are

00:03:18.860 thinking about it let me lay this out for you there are two school of thoughts among the republicans

00:03:24.260 one is when the opposition is trying to fumble the football you let them you don't get in their way

00:03:31.300 you don't do too much if they're in their own path of self-destruction and so make as little wake as

00:03:37.860 possible keep calm waters on our side and just watch the left engage in the circular firing squad

00:03:45.300 that's one theory the other theory is when you start to see the cracks in the opposition apply pressure

00:03:51.500 here would be the strategy under a more uh a more forward-thinking paradigm make the democrats take a vote

00:04:00.240 on whether or not there should be a mental competency test for president biden right now

00:04:05.120 in his official capacity make them take a vote on whether or not proceedings pursuant to the 25th

00:04:10.720 amendment ought to begin make them take a vote on whether or not he ought to have the nuclear codes

00:04:14.900 it's a fair question to ask who's the president right now like if something terrible happened god

00:04:20.780 forbid if we were attacked there was some catastrophe some natural event i mean they're definitely not going to

00:04:28.360 this guy to make the decision so who is the president is it dr jill is it hunter is it is it

00:04:37.140 the border czar kamala harris we don't know and i think applying some pressure by using the floor of

00:04:43.080 the house to ripen those questions could be as effective a strategy as just sitting back and watching

00:04:49.940 them self-destruct so we'll see how that goes we'll continue to follow but there's a really important

00:04:54.160 discussion we want to have today about what's going on at our school boards in our classrooms

00:04:59.140 and really in the education system at large and so we are welcoming back to firebrand my good friend

00:05:04.680 catalina stubby catalina is the national director of hispanic outreach at moms for liberty she's also

00:05:10.520 a radio host on americano media she's been on firebrand before too it was really in the heart of

00:05:17.360 this uprising we saw from parents to change the way the education system was approaching active

00:05:24.820 parenting and parents who wanted to be involved in curriculum review uh and you know now that you've

00:05:29.640 been a leader in the moms for liberty movement catalina tell us a little bit about the mission of

00:05:34.560 the organization how it is it is still very much prescient in what we're doing in the education space

00:05:40.440 yeah that's correct thank you uh congressman for this invitation listen it's simple moms for liberty

00:05:47.920 is fighting for the survival of america education get us into a big trouble and education is going to

00:05:55.360 get us out of this trouble why because they indoctrinate our children our children were indoctrinated

00:06:01.820 at school they were teach about crt they were teach gender ideologies most of it they are marxist 0.88

00:06:08.620 ideologies that shake the foundation of the educational system the results are clear and only 30 percent of

00:06:18.440 our student have been uh has passed the test in math in reading or in science only 30 percent that means

00:06:28.900 more than 70 percent of the children in this country are graduating without being prepared for that

00:06:35.560 without a purpose now uh the if you see the the for long ago moms uh have been taught that uh the government

00:06:46.680 know best and um as as a parent you want the best for your child and with our tax dollar government have

00:06:55.980 the responsibility uh to empower families with quality education options that nurture um our community

00:07:03.620 and strength and strength our nation uh we as a parent we have the responsibility to educate

00:07:09.640 and our next generation about the ideals um of of this nation about the ideas and values that make

00:07:18.120 our country uh the best now uh let's say this biden administration is using laws and and like for example

00:07:28.220 title nine against our parents against the girls against the sports in in in the uh the the girls in in sports

00:07:37.760 but uh gender ideology does not belong in public school and we are glad that courts made the correct call

00:07:46.200 to support parental rights we will always stand up for the rights of parents and uh the protection of

00:07:54.040 children all parents must have their voice heard and the right to raise their own children um is part of

00:08:02.640 the very fabric of the free america the federal government has no right to claim our children as their own

00:08:09.640 or to push parents out of the classroom this is simple and and now for sure well well i want to get

00:08:16.920 in i want to draw a finer point on this because you have just scored a major victory uh for the title nine

00:08:23.020 movement and uh and this was a report that we're getting from moms for liberty dot org moms for

00:08:28.740 liberty succeeds in halting title nine changes this out of topeka kansas and a landmark ruling a federal

00:08:34.820 court in kansas issued an opinion halting the biden department of education's title nine changes in a

00:08:40.820 lawsuit brought by the southeastern legal foundation and the mountain states legal foundation on behalf of

00:08:47.380 their clients moms for liberty and young america's foundations the organizations joined

00:08:52.620 the states of kansas wyoming utah and alaska as well as other students and interest groups in

00:08:57.380 challenging the department of education's blatant disregard for the first amendment and for the

00:09:02.220 rights of k-12 students so for for those who aren't parents but are watching what's going on right now

00:09:09.140 in girls sports and why was protecting a girl sports through the use of this title nine litigation a 0.99

00:09:16.120 strategy that moms for liberty pursued right listen first of course must i want to say no child is born 0.97

00:09:26.680 in the ground body boys and girls are perfectly just the way they are and gender ideology has no place

00:09:34.260 in public schools and your parental right do not stop at the classroom door that's why moms for liberty 1.00

00:09:41.000 is fighting for this and that's why moms for liberty now is winning with common sense it's pure common sense 1.00

00:09:47.840 that uh no men should be allowed at the sports why because before or this um the the title nine

00:09:56.720 wrote in 1972 to protect initially to protect a woman uh it was twisted let's say it was it was by the

00:10:07.940 biden uh administration it was used in the wrong manner when they um remade the the significance of the sex

00:10:19.220 let's say any man that can identify as a woman any man living in this fake reality of of living in this 0.81

00:10:28.640 fantasy of that it's just the guy thing as a woman can just participate in any uh in any sport and take 1.00

00:10:37.140 away all the opportunities for a for a woman and for a for a child that since the beginning of his life

00:10:46.620 has been training hard every day waking up very early to prepare to be a champion to prepare to excel in

00:10:55.100 sports so for us this was not only against uh uh against the constitution but it's against the right 0.67

00:11:04.360 of a parents to direct the upbringing of the education of our children and and you've got a

00:11:10.120 lot of agreement on that catalina on the live stream jill davis saying god does not make mistakes and

00:11:15.200 it's child abuse to tell a kid that they are born in the wrong body you know you mentioned the biden

00:11:20.860 administration in the department of education being uh one of the one of the villains in this story

00:11:26.680 unfortunately frankly if i had my druthers we would just abolish the federal department of education

00:11:32.020 we would leave this power constitutionally to the states and to our our local communities where i

00:11:37.300 think it best resides but i wanted to also ask you about other other villains that you have to fight

00:11:43.340 you know as as part of the moms for liberty movement do you how do you view the unions how do you view the

00:11:49.340 textbook creators where should people be looking for some of the negative influences that you're

00:11:55.840 looking to expose and root out so this is outrageous that with our tax dollars are using indoctrination

00:12:05.140 directly in schools from kindergarten until uh until 12th grade and even more because we are now

00:12:12.680 yes seeing uh how they use students in the university in the college and they are uh now converting to

00:12:21.260 activists and uh defending even terrorists so now uh our fight in our in our fight also were the

00:12:31.420 inappropriate books they say we were banning books we are not the ones banning books first of all

00:12:38.300 second of all we're not banning books we're just uh saying that we should use the tax money dollar

00:12:48.100 in in a good way just focusing on math science and the core and the core um courses why because

00:12:58.820 no parent want inappropriate content explicit content that even describes uh how to masturbate 0.96

00:13:06.880 how to even uh do an intercourse between two same sex this is not sex education this is a perversion 1.00

00:13:15.860 from the left that is pushing this nationwide to our children now our children know better the

00:13:24.460 positions in sex rather than that they can name even the the 50 states or they can even learn about the

00:13:32.820 constitution of the united states they can they cannot even name the 10 commandments and so this is

00:13:39.360 about education we're focusing uh on education in academics excelling in academics you know and you

00:13:47.300 started out our discussion talking about the goals for those competencies and reading and math and the

00:13:53.180 basics and you know i i wonder specifically how this moms for liberty movement has grown within the

00:14:00.580 hispanic community you're the director of of hispanic outreach and so there seem to be a lot of of

00:14:06.120 cultural values supporting the family of supporting a connection to faith being rooted in the foundation

00:14:13.920 of civilized society uh that would be a very very attractive talk about what reaction you have received as

00:14:20.740 you've worked toward that outreach listen for me i came from colombia and i came from a better a better

00:14:29.280 life to actually be proficient in my profession and not to seen as my uh preference sexual preference or

00:14:39.380 if i became to a party or not or i belong to a party or not just simply when i came to this country i saw uh

00:14:49.100 the american dream and i saw liberty and i don't want to make the same mistakes that i that i made in in

00:14:55.880 in the in the in in our countries in colombia so i see right now that um hispanics has a lot in common

00:15:05.520 with uh with americans but it's something beautiful that americans teach me is how to work in a team

00:15:12.980 how to have a vision because we can all become one and then we can all work together toward one goal

00:15:21.900 and is basically life liberty and the pursuit of happiness that we are all men created equal

00:15:28.680 and um it's sad how every pillar of american culture now is under attack and it's this colombian girl

00:15:38.340 that it's it's now defending the basics in now even the the basic of education in in this country that i

00:15:47.780 now choose to be my home and i'm going to defend my home as every single hispanic or every single american

00:15:56.520 will do with their children the children is the most precious gift that we receive and we are going to

00:16:02.740 defend that with everything we have that's why we're so passionate about it and it's so important

00:16:08.700 because they are becoming the future of our country they are going to become our next legislators

00:16:14.420 our next doctors are you congressman going to trust this this young generation that just graduated from 0.71

00:16:22.100 high school to be the next voters uh choosing uh the next presidents or the next legislators

00:16:28.940 they are going to and so we it's our duty to defend the education transparency in education and to offer

00:16:37.100 them uh an education free from from indoctrination and actually uh they deserve better they deserve better

00:16:45.040 than this because right now our country is is every pillar is under attack freedom of speech the justice

00:16:52.380 department uh the media the medicine and but for me the most um outrageous is education using education

00:17:02.700 using our tax dollars to indoctrinate our children that's must stop and the it is start at home i don't

00:17:12.120 expect a politician to solve all my problems but parents uh know best and need to tell the truth to to their

00:17:20.820 children so right now yes no i i think we're all very lucky to have you in that fight and i think that

00:17:27.300 after people hear that description they're going to want to join you in that fight and so talk a little bit about

00:17:32.580 who the people are that are participating in the moms for liberty movement maybe talk about how people come to the

00:17:38.680 movement and and what work you're doing together and then uh if you could let folks know if if they see this and are

00:17:44.900 inspired to be in that fight with you to save our education system uh how they can how they can join the

00:17:51.300 the great efforts that that you're endeavoring upon listen this is this is nice because uh people always

00:17:58.380 tell me why you became involved in politics i don't like politics i just simply i'm just a mom trying to

00:18:07.080 raise their children the right way that's it and i think this is the common uh denominator of all uh moms

00:18:14.220 for liberty that we are just parents trying our best with our children we want to uh that our

00:18:21.140 children become become a productive member of society with a beautiful purpose in life that they

00:18:27.940 just not in in in money but but helping other helping our nation and and we're just simply going

00:18:36.340 straight and and practicing laser on education and i think this moms can change the world and they 1.00

00:18:43.900 underestimate the power of a mom because we can do a lot of things and uh we just need uh a voice 1.00

00:18:51.780 that's why moms for liberty is unifying uh educated and empower parents to defend their parental rights 1.00

00:18:58.420 at all level of government right now when when we want uh this battle against uh the biden administration

00:19:05.780 against uh the the title nine is the moment to join um moms for liberty why because it's only

00:19:13.640 for the uh for the benefit for the moms for liberty and i think is the time to fight for truth and the

00:19:22.040 children is now so you must join first of all moms for liberty become a member you're going to be 0.80

00:19:28.760 protected from child nine and so on and to be to get informed uh another thing we are going to be uh

00:19:36.580 uh we are going to do a town hall in milwaukee uh that is going to be uh with a lot of guests including governor

00:19:46.860 desantis including governor huckabee from arkansas and i think this is the time that we are just stepping up

00:19:55.180 for our children and start fighting also join our march for kids also join the submit at the end of

00:20:03.780 august it's important and hopefully you can join this summit because it is where we train our parents

00:20:10.960 is where we awake our parents and we show the reality that what is is is happening right now in the

00:20:17.960 educational system moms for liberty the director of hispanic national outreach catalina stubby thank

00:20:23.920 you so much for joining us on firebrand there are so many opportunities to be involved we want to bring

00:20:28.600 those opportunities to our constituents in florida and throughout the country thanks for everything

00:20:32.800 you're doing and we'll see you in milwaukee thank you so much congressman thank you and we also wanted

00:20:39.060 to let the firebrand audience know that there was work happening in the house judiciary committee

00:20:42.900 regarding the real abuse of the legal process that we saw on display during the prosecution of

00:20:49.000 president trump by alvin bragg in manhattan now the core theory of that case is that somehow president

00:20:55.420 trump violated federal election law by not using donor money for this non-disclosure agreement with

00:21:03.740 stormy daniels and i had the opportunity to question bradley smith who's the former chair of the fec

00:21:11.800 who oversaw the enforcement of our election regulations and the precedent set by the democrats

00:21:20.560 would lead to a pretty absurd result take a listen to my questioning of the former chair of the fec

00:21:27.000 so mr smith following up on mr stubby's question i want to understand the precedent here so if a

00:21:34.540 candidate for federal office wanted to use campaign money now to make a hush money payment

00:21:41.600 could they point to what has occurred in this new york litigation and say well i guess i can go use

00:21:47.860 my donor money to make a hush money payment i suppose they could at least unless judge jackson is

00:21:53.260 correct and we'll have to wait for that overturning on appeal but yes yeah but so well i guess i want

00:21:58.320 to ask the question if an appellate court does not in some way deal with what has been laid before the

00:22:04.660 country could we could we see people collecting money from donors lobbyists and packs and then

00:22:10.840 using it to make hush money payments yeah and you could do almost anything else you could say for

00:22:14.700 example i'd really like to go to the super bowl this year think i'll take a couple donors along

00:22:18.300 and buy your super bowl tickets and your whole trip to the super bowl because it's for the purpose of

00:22:22.320 influencing your campaign so in the prosecution to preserve our democracy we have now greenlit

00:22:29.300 potentially the most expansive abuses of campaign funds ever well put

00:22:34.460 i don't think that it was the intent of the bragg prosecution to create a massive loophole

00:22:42.300 for people to misuse campaign funds but that's exactly what they seem to have done according

00:22:47.340 to that expert and i continue to take exception with how judge mershon in that case was able to

00:22:55.160 preside over a matter where his own family was benefiting off of the notoriety of the case and

00:23:04.020 we had a former judge before the committee i asked him what that would have been like in his court take a

00:23:10.020 listen uh judge wilson i just want to ask ask you a a precise question was there ever a case that you

00:23:19.180 were presiding over where you had a family member economically benefit from the notoriety of the case

00:23:27.680 no never you sure you don't want to take some more time on that think about it i don't need more time

00:23:33.460 i know that for a fact well i mean if that had ever arisen would you have allowed a family member to

00:23:39.440 make money off the notoriety of a case i would have recused myself from the case

00:23:43.280 huh well it's just interesting because we had attorney general garland who was you know spent a good

00:23:48.440 amount of time on the bench and i asked him the same question and you know he said that he wouldn't

00:23:52.100 answer it because it was obviously a reference to what had gone on in new york i mean i thought it

00:23:57.900 was i thought he could might could have answered it but i mean when you look at what happened in new

00:24:01.780 york does it concern you that the judge in that case seemed to have a family member who was

00:24:06.200 economically leveraging the notoriety of the case it greatly concerned me but not so much from the

00:24:13.560 perspective of the ethical violation that would be apparent because that judge did get an ethical

00:24:20.800 opinion from the judicial ethics committee in new york that exonerated him from any wrongdoing

00:24:28.400 and listening to the case when his daughter was benefiting what i was concerned about was the

00:24:33.760 appearance of impropriety you know when i sat on the bench sometimes i would get a report from

00:24:39.820 probation or some other organization and they would hand it to me in an envelope and i made certain to

00:24:45.640 open up that envelope and show everybody that it was a report that i was looking at because i didn't

00:24:52.460 want there to be the in the appearance of impropriety that i'm receiving an envelope from someone in the

00:24:56.980 courtroom the concept is the same here you're presiding over a case where your daughter is benefiting

00:25:04.760 and where you've made political contributions in small amounts but it's irrelevant the amount

00:25:10.540 but you've made contributions to uh the political opponents of the defendant before you the these are

00:25:18.420 the very essence of the appearance of impropriety and i feel strongly that judge marchand should have

00:25:25.440 recused himself on that basis just simple as can be mr chairman straightforward answer to a

00:25:31.340 straightforward question i wish we could have gotten that from the attorney general i yield back

00:25:34.980 we are back live and we made news yesterday by announcing the establishment of the congressional

00:25:42.860 el salvador caucus i am going to be leading that caucus as chairman along with vincenti gonzalez

00:25:48.860 democrat from the state of texas who knows that part of the or that part of the world rather well

00:25:53.900 this was the announcement of the congressional el salvador caucus take a listen

00:25:57.820 mr speaker i rise to notify the house of the creation of the congressional el salvador caucus

00:26:07.240 for which i will serve as chairman and for which i have appointed the gentleman from texas vincenti

00:26:12.740 gonzalez to serve as the bipartisan co-chairman congressman gonzalez has extensive relationships

00:26:19.240 and insights drawn from his time in el salvador and throughout latin america and undeniably that will

00:26:25.420 assist in leading the caucus mr speaker el salvador's president naib bukele has converted el salvador

00:26:32.880 from the murder capital of the world into a reliable and stable partner for peace and security for the

00:26:40.880 united states of america the el salvador caucus will exist to nurture and advance the u.s el salvador

00:26:47.460 relationship to encourage strong borders strong culture and the strong reforms that president bukele has

00:26:55.360 put into effect they've defeated the gangs they've put prosperity on the march in el salvador and

00:27:01.960 even the 70 000 people who are incarcerated in that country are not just seeing their lives uh wasted

00:27:08.500 away president bukele has instituted a zero leisure policy where they are now restoring buildings and

00:27:15.840 murals and actually rebuilding the country that so many of them had a hand in ravaging through gang

00:27:21.940 warfare the purpose of this caucus will be to vindicate the choices that president bukele has made

00:27:27.660 that indeed strengthen the u.s el salvador relationship and el salvador's resurgence has not

00:27:34.420 existed as a consequence of falling for the siren song of globalism instead president bukele believes that

00:27:41.840 the way el salvador can lead within central america and indeed throughout the west is by being the best

00:27:48.040 version of themselves not being excessively reliant on some of these globalist institutions president

00:27:53.900 bukele has delivered instant justice to the satanic gangs and the endemic political corruption but in

00:28:00.140 fact no good deed goes unpunished too often our own government and even some members of this congress

00:28:05.460 mount attack after attack at el salvador and president bukele presumably because the comeback that el salvador

00:28:13.800 is living is a breathing indictment of other failed ideologies through the inspiration from el salvador's

00:28:20.680 astonishing transformation the great american rejuvenation can become a reality as well so that

00:28:27.060 we can experience a triumphant return of safety and prosperity that we once inspired in others i would

00:28:34.320 invite my colleagues in the house and senate to contact our office we would love to have you as a member of

00:28:40.560 the el salvador caucus as we strengthen the us el salvador relationship as we work to amplify some of

00:28:47.040 the good decisions that are being made by president bukele and his government and as we hope that these

00:28:52.000 good ideas have legs and can travel and can be copied and implemented for a more stable world thank you
