00:01:14.160 that's All Family Pharmacy so that you are healthy, strong, and free. We care about you.
00:01:19.020 That's why we have this partnership. And joining me now are my good buddies in the One American
00:01:24.340 news family, the host of David Pollack Primetime and David Pollack and Pearson Sharp, host of
00:01:29.360 the Sharp Report. Pearson, you have been away for a while with a little illness. I hope I've sent
00:01:35.600 you enough all family pharmacy to get you well and back. But it got me wondering, do either of
00:01:40.940 you guys have like a home remedy for all of the sniffles that people get this time of year? Because
00:01:47.260 I always do the fire cider. I get that jar. I put the apple cider in. I put the pineapple. I put the
00:01:53.920 onions. And after a few weeks, that stuff will cure anything from the common cold to Ebola. So
00:02:01.560 at the sharp household, Pearson, what is the home remedy? I mean, I'm just a big fan of the
00:02:07.480 day quill, night quill. I put a lot of stock in Western medicine as far as that goes. I'll drink
00:02:12.800 the entire cabinet. My wife, her family is Lebanese, and they have some interesting ideas 1.00
00:02:20.560 about how you cure colds.
00:02:22.740 I think one of them involves rubbing your feet
00:02:24.460 with olive oil and then putting socks on
00:02:27.760 or something when you go to bed.
00:02:29.760 And that's supposed to draw out the toxins or something.
00:02:33.400 And people swear by it.
00:02:35.080 I haven't tried it,
00:02:36.700 but apparently that works for the Lebanese, so. 1.00
00:02:41.200 It at least gives them the softest feet 1.00
00:02:43.400 you could possibly imagine.
00:02:44.760 I mean, if you are treating your feet
00:02:47.820 Like, a delicious, like, you know, loin of beef with a nice little oil coating.
00:02:53.360 Wow.
00:02:53.920 We've got some weird foot fetish stuff happening here on Anchorman tonight.
00:02:58.100 What do you do, David?
00:02:58.660 What's going?
00:02:59.120 What's the ancient Jewish remedies? 1.00
00:03:01.040 Yeah, what's your move? 0.99
00:03:02.340 Matzo ball soup, man. 1.00
00:03:03.640 Come on, Jewish penicillin. 1.00
00:03:05.980 Let's go. 1.00
00:03:06.940 Yeah.
00:03:07.680 No, I mean, I just avoid getting sick thanks to, you know, supplements from All Family Pharmacy.
00:03:12.540 But, you know, when I do get sick, and I really don't.
00:03:14.880 I mean, but when I do, yeah, you just got to rest, man.
00:03:18.560 You got to take your vitamins and, yeah, a good bowl of soup always seems to help.
00:03:22.080 Lots of garlic.
00:03:23.360 Yeah, garlic's good.
00:03:24.320 Yeah, garlic's really good.
00:03:25.500 Yeah, we went to Ohio earlier this month, and second day we were there, we came down with influenza.
00:03:31.960 Didn't realize it until my daughter ended up in the ER, and we had to have her tested.
00:03:35.960 Jeez.
00:03:36.180 And we came down with influenza A.
00:03:37.840 So it was a rough trip.
00:03:39.400 We spent the entire week at the CVS and the urgent care and the ER.
00:03:44.460 Got a lot of souvenirs from CVS.
00:03:46.400 They probably hit their monthly goals in about two days, thanks to us.
00:03:50.420 But, yeah, it was a good trip.
00:03:52.680 I'll tell you, a good bowl of Vietnamese pho that does it for me.
00:03:56.720 You know, nice and spicy.
00:03:58.140 Ooh.
00:03:59.380 Oh. 0.98
00:04:00.080 Yeah, well, that'll clear out the nasal passages as well.
00:04:03.500 Now, I hope we are all not needing, you know, stomach medication after these midterms.
00:04:10.260 We probably need the anxiety medication right now.
00:04:13.280 And we have teased, chastised and criticized our good friend David for the hopium that he has pumped into our expectations around these midterms.
00:04:24.420 But I've got to be honest with you, Pearson.
00:04:26.300 I'm kind of starting to come around to the idea that this might be better than a lot of the pundits have expected.
00:04:32.200 And there are a few reasons for that.
00:04:34.360 First, I'm telling you, well, it's not spreading as good as some of the negative ads that I've seen against James Tallarico and Abdul Al-Sayed.
00:04:42.300 And I think that is where we're finally hitting our stride.
00:04:45.480 I think that Republicans are doing exactly what Pearson Sharp suggested weeks ago on
00:04:51.740 this very platform, when he said, you have to make the election a referendum on these 0.93
00:04:56.840 crazy socialists.
00:04:58.480 And then even if our friends and colleagues and fellow Republicans have to hold their
00:05:02.740 nose for someone that they might not totally align with, like Mike Rogers or Darlene Graham,
00:05:09.620 they have to do it.
00:05:10.680 Pearson, do you get any sense, as I do, that some Republicans are waking up to how dangerous
00:05:16.380 these Democrats are and they're coming home? I certainly hope so, Matt. I'm still pretty
00:05:22.120 disappointed with how things have gone. And I think a lot of Republicans have a lot of genuine
00:05:27.120 grievances. But as I've said, as we've discussed in the show, whatever the Republicans haven't done
00:05:34.820 this time is not nearly as bad as what the islamic democrats are going to do when they get in i mean 0.77
00:05:43.320 they've told us 100 what was adam shift just said there's going to be impeachments you know when he
00:05:48.380 get in and he led the last one so he should know um but the problem is not to dampen the optimism
00:05:55.220 you know trump's depending on where you look trump's approval rating is 32 or 39 that's right
00:06:01.540 where george bush was in 2006 and just below obama in 2014 and they both got their butts handed to
00:06:09.040 them in the midterms they lost huge in those midterms so we could be looking at losing 20 30
00:06:14.700 seats in the house and maybe two or three seats in the senate that could easily happen the thing is
00:06:21.160 we don't know because polling is just like astonishingly astonishingly unreliable you
00:06:27.860 can't tell what's going to happen and fake and just make up numbers just pure and simple just
00:06:32.500 make something up so we don't know what's going to happen with polling but we do know that
00:06:37.100 republicans dominate on same day voting dominate the last the last one we saw was like 40 percent
00:06:43.940 of republicans turn out on same day versus 20 percent of democrats so we can't account for that
00:06:49.160 we don't know how it's going to go until it actually happens and so i'm i'm hopeful that
00:06:54.540 we can turn this around, that Republicans can put aside their grievances, that we can hold
00:06:58.980 the Democrats where we need them. And we can tell the Republicans, look, you failed the last two
00:07:04.720 years, but you have to continue. We have to get them in there because if we don't, the country's
00:07:09.260 gone. That's it. David, where do you, what are the states you think are really going to be the
00:07:16.940 closest? Because under your optimistic theory, you know, kind of red states are going to behave 0.68
00:07:21.880 like red states. Ashley Moody's going to win in Florida. Darlene Graham's going to win in South 1.00
00:07:26.440 Carolina. Ken Paxton's going to win in Texas. And it might be some of these Midwestern states that
00:07:32.040 are keeping us up late. Yeah. I mean, and that's the thing. A lot of our focus is on these states
00:07:36.920 that are going to be flips for us, right? I mean, if El Saeed wins that race, that's not a flip. I
00:07:42.060 mean, that's a Democrat seat. If we win that one, it's a flip. So the races that we're watching are
00:07:47.200 really more of the Senate races and are the ones that we have a potential of winning. You know,
00:07:51.240 I'm not tracking a lot of these Republican upsets.
00:07:54.420 And you can look at the charts and they say, you know, lean red or toss up.
00:07:58.680 And again, I'm not buying the polling.
00:08:00.980 If you look at turnout, Republican turnout is on par to hold the seat.
00:08:06.060 It just it really depends on Election Day, like Pearson saying.
00:08:08.360 But if Republicans perform well on Election Day, I think we might be watching Fox News or CNN scratching their head saying, well, you know, I guess the polling suggests these were toss ups.
00:08:17.060 and toss-up means it could go either way
00:08:19.200 and the numbers are coming in
00:08:20.420 and looking like they're going to come our way.
00:08:22.080 I think we might lose a couple that we expected to win
00:08:24.380 and I think we win more than we're expecting to lose.
00:08:26.800 I'm still remaining optimistic on this.
00:08:28.360 I don't think it's going to be this blue wave
00:08:29.960 that everybody's expecting it to be.
00:08:31.700 It just doesn't seem like it's out there.
00:08:33.120 Now, to Pearson's point,
00:08:34.740 when he's talking about in spite of their grievances,
00:08:37.980 I don't think Republicans have grievances
00:08:39.960 and I've been saying this for weeks.
00:08:41.660 I think swing voters have grievances.
00:08:44.640 I don't think Republicans have grievances
00:08:45.980 Because every Republican I know are voting for Republicans.
00:08:49.620 They're turning out.
00:08:50.360 They're showing up.
00:08:51.020 They're not sitting it out.
00:08:52.160 The only people I hear threatening to sit it out are these swing voters, which is the part I've been telling you about.
00:08:56.300 I'm not concerned about Republicans.
00:08:57.660 Republicans are showing up.
00:08:58.620 I mean, if you look at the polls, if you trust them at all, 60 percent of Republicans say they're not happy with how President Trump is.
00:09:03.520 But it doesn't mean they're not voting.
00:09:04.740 Being unhappy and not voting are way too different things.
00:09:06.620 Well, no, I know, but those are grievances.
00:09:07.560 Those are grievances from Republicans.
00:09:09.160 Yeah, but everybody is always unhappy with whoever's in power.
00:09:13.500 But the thing is, and the question is on election day, the thing we have to figure out is, are those grievances, as you mentioned, are those going to be the things to keep people home?
00:09:20.600 I think the only people that stay home may be swing voters.
00:09:23.500 But if swing voters stay home, as long as they don't show up for Democrats, Republicans still win in these places where Republicans have the majority.
00:09:29.560 So, David, if we don't get this blue wave, David, if we don't get this blue wave that so many of the pundits have predicted, do you think it'll be a consequence of some of the bad candidate quality we've seen on the left?
00:09:42.480 Well, yeah. And look, I think what it has to do with it's almost like a cocky football player getting ready to run into the end zone when they're up by like a touchdown.
00:09:51.600 It's the last second of the game. And then they drop the ball to one yard line. And they're like, oh, no.
00:09:56.640 You're like, what is that movie with the guy who wears the fake fake nose?
00:10:00.260 Oh, you don't know. Anyway. But I think what's happening here is the Democrats were watching the fake news, consuming the fake news and assume that they were ahead with one second left on the clock.
00:10:10.780 And I believe they're dropping the ball on the one yard line. We see Cenk putting out that ad, you know, about giving our money to bomb kids in Israel.
00:10:18.820 I mean, I really think our bomb kids in Palestine is we're giving our money to Israel. You've seen that ad, the Al-Sahid ad.
00:10:24.380 There's all these things that are happening right now. I think Democrats.
00:10:26.720 You didn't think that was a good ad?
00:10:28.240 I mean, it was great. It was great for Republicans.
00:10:30.240 You think that ad hurts it?
00:10:31.480 Yeah, it was good for Republicans. You got to think.
00:10:33.060 I wonder if that ad isn't a real effort by that campaign to try to link the war with people's economic grievances because that link isn't prescient in everyone's mind, right?
00:10:47.280 Yeah, but here's the thing.
00:10:48.520 If you're a Jew – and a lot of Democrats – I mean a lot of Jews are Democrats.
00:10:52.380 And if you're a Jewish Democrat who kind of feels like maybe the party is kind of excluding you with a lot of the perceived anti-Semitic messaging, and then you see an ad like that supporting El Saeed, and you were like,
00:11:02.580 yeah he's not getting my vote i don't think you're doing yourself any favors by alienating
00:11:08.460 the margin of votes you need from jewish people who tend to vote liberal i just don't think that
00:11:13.380 might be popular with like you know the swing voters those those middle of the road type folks
00:11:18.280 who kind of you know the america first type people but i already told you suburbs that
00:11:23.100 no that was an ad aimed at the suburbs right and frankly the mistake was he didn't have black people
00:11:28.040 in the ad, because that's where Alcide's real problem is closing the deal with black
00:11:31.480 voters. And that's why he brings in Obama. And it'll be really interesting to see whether 0.93
00:11:36.360 Obama as a closer will work now when it clearly failed in 2024. But Pearson, you talked about
00:11:43.100 those grievances. And I think chief among them is the Senate's failure to pass the Save
00:11:48.580 America Act and voter ID. So here in California, there is a citizen petition effort to try to
00:11:56.220 get voter ID passed. One of the very best political ads of the cycle is in support of that. Take a
00:12:03.260 listen. Hi there. Can I get your name? Sidney Sweeney. Very funny, sir. What's your real name?
00:12:10.620 I'm Sidney Sweeney. Okay. Well, can I see your ID then, Sidney? Sharon, you can't ask for ID.
00:12:20.300 Thank you for voting, Sidney. You bet.
00:12:26.220 voter fraud what are you talking about ma'am you can't vote twice
00:12:32.180 pearson i don't know if california will give us any wins but it certainly gives us some of
00:12:40.080 the best ads what's your reaction i mean that's it you know what to say about that it spells it
00:12:47.420 out clearly that's exactly the problem that is exactly something that could happen that literally
00:12:52.560 could happen exactly as it played out in that ad.
00:12:55.380 Arizona. It happens in Arizona.
00:12:57.440 Well, I mean, here in California,
00:12:58.940 there's the lawsuit for 20,000
00:13:00.900 illegal voters who supposedly voted
00:13:02.640 and we can't get the names.
00:13:04.180 Chad Bianco up in Riverside, he had 650,000
00:13:07.500 votes. 650,000
00:13:09.700 that he was auditing
00:13:10.820 and they made him turn them over. He couldn't keep them.
00:13:13.180 So this state is rife
00:13:14.980 for corruption. Absolutely. That's the only
00:13:16.920 way that they're winning.
00:13:18.140 No, but that very thing happened in Maricopa. In the last election,
00:13:21.000 people were showing up to vote and said, you've already voted.
00:13:22.420 And they go, what do you mean I already voted?
00:13:23.720 Yeah, I mean, it happens all over the U.S.
00:13:25.620 But, yeah, especially here in California.
00:13:27.760 So, God willing, we can get Prop 39 on the ballot and we can pass it.
00:13:33.060 But I'm sad to say that polls show 55% of Californians have already said they're going to vote against Prop 39.
00:13:41.720 So, I mean, it's just like with the gas tax.
00:13:44.740 That's just insane.
00:13:45.540 It's just like with the road tax.
00:13:47.040 It's like with everything that we come up with, the Secretary of State gets to write the description.
00:13:51.340 And you have low info voters who have no idea. And so, you know, whatever. They'll just let it go.
00:13:58.920 David, at the end of that ad, you see you see the Sidney Sweeney actual archetype being hauled off in handcuffs, kind of as a joke.
00:14:07.120 Right. That would never happen in California. They don't seem to care.
00:14:09.920 But we did get troubling breaking news this week. James O'Keefe and Cam Higby, following their exposé in Minnesota, have been charged with felonies as a result of that journalism.
00:14:24.040 We remember that James and Cam went and showcased how you could simply attest for other voters and submit their ballots, even when those other voters aren't present and actually intending to participate in that election.
00:14:38.520 This is an attack on journalism. This is an attack on election integrity. And you know what? The pro the charging of Cam Higby and James O'Keefe is the same crap we see out of Minnesota, the same crap that resulted in fraud and waste and abuse.
00:14:55.160 Because when people stood up and pointed out the problems, they were called racists. They were called bigots. David, as a fellow journalist, do you stand with our buddies Cam Higby and James O'Keefe? 0.99
00:15:08.300 Well, of course. I mean, I stand with journalists everywhere, except for the ones who look classified information that they shouldn't have and they know they shouldn't. But the thing is, this and this is why I'm so passionate about these midterms. This is why I'm so passionate when people are complaining about gas prices or whatever they're complaining about is I have to pause people and say, you've forgotten 2020 already. Look at just and I know we'll get to it. Look what happened in Brazil.
00:15:32.920 Still, the ability of the left to label somebody a criminal and then the ability of the fake news media to pick up that narrative and run with it and cast somebody a criminal before they've even had their day in court, it takes away anybody's ability to even defend themselves from these allegations and delegitimizes any efforts they have even under the First Amendment.
00:15:51.120 So what you're seeing here with Ken Higbee and James O'Keefe is just the beginning, by the way.
00:15:57.380 You already saw the Stop Nick Shirley Act in California, jailing the press, jailing your political opponents, getting rid of your opposition. 0.65
00:16:05.980 This is what happens in Russia. This is what happens in Cuba. You get hung in Iran for this.
00:16:10.160 Now it's what happens in Brazil. And it happens, not happened, will happen.
00:16:14.580 It happened in the United States in 2020. It happened in 2016.
00:16:19.160 It's going to happen again in 2026, and it's already happening before the election is even over.
00:16:24.300 So when people sit back and they think, oh, it's okay, I'll just vote, or I won't vote because I'm upset, and it's okay, it's not okay.
00:16:34.380 I'll vote for the Democrats because we have to punish the Republicans.
00:16:36.220 That is the worst idea because what's going to happen is your ability to go out and actually call out some of this behavior is going to be stripped from you.
00:16:43.720 You know, Matt, I'm posting all these social media clips about Flavio Bolsonaro and doing TikTok, and I'm on Instagram, and I'm thinking to myself, how much longer is it going to be before my next video about Flavio Bolsonaro fleeing to the United States gets flagged for misinformation and say he lost the 2026 election in Brazil, and this is misinformation?
00:17:03.220 It won't be long now before James O'Keefe, Cam Higby, us will not be allowed to say the things that need to be said and exercise our First Amendment.
00:17:10.140 That is what is at stake here.
00:17:11.940 That's exactly what's at stake here.
00:17:13.320 This is what happened to us here at OAN.
00:17:17.200 Journalism is hanging by a thread everywhere around the world,
00:17:20.660 especially in the Western world, it seems like.
00:17:22.500 Just look at the UK.
00:17:23.500 You can't say anything.
00:17:25.020 This is what dictatorships do.
00:17:26.480 This is a Marxist 101.
00:17:28.420 You take over the airwaves, you take over the control of information,
00:17:31.140 and you own the people.
00:17:32.680 So we should look forward to a lot more of this, frankly,
00:17:35.940 if we don't win these midterms and if we lose the next election.
00:17:38.980 It's going to be disastrous, honestly.
00:17:43.320 Pearson, I think about you sometimes as the James O'Keefe of this network because you
00:17:48.680 pour yourself into these extended investigative reports that are intended to change minds.
00:17:55.880 It is not entertainment.
00:17:57.520 It is persuasion.
00:17:59.480 And the reason we do that is we truly want to grow our coalition.
00:18:02.960 We want people to wake up to what time it is in the United States of America.
00:18:07.380 And so when you see James O'Keefe arrested for a felony, charged over this expose on something as important as voter I.D. and election integrity, does it accelerate our concerns about what's happening to a media landscape that has grown more powerful as it has become more decentralized?
00:18:29.980 i mean yeah absolutely this is like i said we we saw this firsthand here at oan i saw it one of my
00:18:38.800 reports got us censored on an online platform uh and we were banned for i forget the amount of time
00:18:47.340 but we were demonetized and i mean everything we did it seemed like was grounds for misinformation
00:18:54.760 defamation accusations. And that has not really stopped. Everybody says that woke is dead and,
00:19:00.480 you know, Trump's resurgence has killed the radical left as far as that goes. It hasn't.
00:19:05.680 It's just, you know, kind of gone a little bit dormant. It's not quite as loud as it used to be.
00:19:09.900 They're just waiting for the opportunity to take over. What we saw with James O'Keefe, I mean,
00:19:15.720 in Minnesota, you had the secretary of state come out and give Somalians, she addressed Somalians
00:19:21.460 specifically and gave them instructions on how to vote without ID and like was very clear and said
00:19:28.540 what they could use and just like very directed on how Somalians could vote. Like, why would you 0.50
00:19:32.880 do that? All of this, all of this is aimed at overthrowing the elections. We're going to have
00:19:37.300 another Brazil situation. We're going to have another Venezuela situation. This is a banana
00:19:41.760 republic, you know? And I don't know how we fight that, honestly, because a lot of times it feels 0.99
00:19:46.620 like when you go to the polls, nothing changes. Like we'll vote and the same people get in
00:19:51.460 regardless of how we vote. Bolsonaro was surging in popularity. And I don't want to jump too early
00:19:57.440 into that topic. He was, he was dominating everything. No, let's just go right into it.
00:20:01.800 Okay. I mean, he was dominating everything. Yeah, let's go right into it. Go ahead.
00:20:07.140 Let's start with president Trump's reaction to the election in Brazil, and then we'll get into it.
00:20:12.480 Bolsonaro's lost in Brazil. Any comment on that? Do you think the election was fair?
00:20:15.180 Well, it looked terrible to me. I thought it was terrible. I didn't take sides, but it looked like another rigged election, frankly. I didn't take sides, but it was a terrible look for the world. It's another election. You know, elections have to be indisputable, and it looked very bad to me.
00:20:36.460 Everything President Trump seemed to say there was accurate.
00:20:38.780 But, Pearson, do you think President Trump should have taken sides in this election?
00:20:42.640 And if he would have done so, could that have saved Bolsonaro?
00:20:45.900 Or was this always cooked because Lula was always going to steal it? 0.71
00:20:49.540 I mean, it was always cooked.
00:20:51.920 Bolsonaro didn't need Trump's help or endorsement.
00:20:55.120 He had it in the bag.
00:20:56.160 He won the election, plain and simple.
00:20:59.080 He won it, period.
00:21:00.700 This is unprecedented.
00:21:03.260 This has never happened in Brazil's history before.
00:21:05.800 to have a Supreme Court judge interfere in the election, bypass the electoral court.
00:21:12.060 The guy's best friends with the guy he said to win, with Lula, who he put, you know, he said, hey, this guy wins.
00:21:18.720 He's his personal lawyer.
00:21:20.660 This has never happened before.
00:21:22.440 Bolsonaro, he won round one over Lula by over two million votes.
00:21:28.680 And the math here just doesn't add up because other right wing candidates dropped out.
00:21:33.320 They dropped out and they endorsed Bolsonaro.
00:21:35.580 These are right-wing candidates.
00:21:36.680 So people voting for them would not have voted for Lula to begin with.
00:21:40.520 So none of these other candidates endorsed Lula.
00:21:43.480 So that represents about 9 million votes that would have probably, in all likelihood, gone to Bolsonaro.
00:21:51.960 Yet somehow, Lula went from 53 million votes in the first round to 65 million votes in the second round.
00:22:02.240 so he picked up 12 million votes from nowhere from nowhere and and bolsonaro went from uh 56
00:22:14.500 million to 59 million he only got 3 million votes so somewhere 12 million votes just appeared out
00:22:21.700 of thin air and lula got them and when the judge ordered the polling stations to stay open the idea
00:22:28.680 was, and Bolsonaro signed on to this.
00:22:30.720 He's like, yeah, actually, maybe we should leave the polling stations
00:22:32.620 open because there are some places that are impacted
00:22:34.500 by floods and natural disasters and stuff.
00:22:36.100 There's nuance there. There's nuance there that's important.
00:22:38.540 Bolsonaro wanted limited polling
00:22:40.480 stations open because of weather.
00:22:42.520 Lula's camp wanted a nationwide,
00:22:44.680 the polls kept open nationwide.
00:22:46.700 They didn't rule on it until
00:22:48.200 5.01pm, one minute
00:22:50.660 after most of the polls closed,
00:22:52.520 except for the polls in the areas that were favorable
00:22:54.600 to Lula.
00:22:56.700 Sao Paulo was
00:22:58.140 80% of the polls in Sao Paulo were closed where Flavio was performing strong.
00:23:02.800 This whole thing, and like you said, the elections judges, the ones that are supposed to rule on this,
00:23:07.240 they found out on the radio that the polls were being kept open.
00:23:09.960 They objected to it, and his lawyer friend kept them open.
00:23:13.420 There were so many irregularities.
00:23:15.080 The statistical impossibility you mentioned, the polls being kept open.
00:23:19.280 It's kind of like, I think we saw something like this before.
00:23:21.500 We were watching the numbers come in.
00:23:24.180 It's weird.
00:23:24.720 It's like we've seen this before.
00:23:25.740 It went straight up.
00:23:26.280 There was some kind of, you know, ballot dump. I don't know where we've seen that before, but it sounds really familiar.
00:23:31.060 Toilet leaks in Fulton County.
00:23:32.620 Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
00:23:35.540 So let me ask you this, David. Let me ask you this, because you've had some very interesting viral social media posts that I want to give you the chance to introduce.
00:23:43.240 But were these Supreme Court justices ultimately protecting themselves?
00:23:48.980 Because so much of the corruption in Brazil emerges out of the court, so much of the censorship, so much of the anti-Americanism.
00:23:57.300 And there's a part of me that thinks that this wasn't Lula getting the court to do what he wanted.
00:24:04.420 It was the court protecting their own interests.
00:24:08.180 I'm so excited when we get our Merriweather Farm shipments in.
00:24:11.180 you get a beautiful piece of ribeye look look at that marbling now i take it out of the package
00:24:16.340 let it get down to room temperature all i've got on here is a little salt a little pepper
00:24:20.860 and then a little avocado oil and then i've had my pan preheating with a little oil
00:24:25.420 head to meriweatherfarms.com and enter promo code matt g for 15 off your first order no i i think
00:24:38.900 this was lula getting his friend on because again it was randomly assigned to the the the um the
00:24:45.240 judge the high court judge that was his friend his lawyer i mean they're in pictures together
00:24:49.860 i mean they had a great just randomly assigned to him and it didn't go to the full court it went to
00:24:54.380 this one guy it didn't even follow procedure but i will to your point alessandro de moreas he's
00:25:00.660 probably the actual dictator of brazil because he's the one that's issuing all these indictments
00:25:05.460 He's the one who's jailing Jair Bolsonaro.
00:25:08.400 He's the one who he's the reason why Eduardo has to be exiled to the United States, along with other Brazilians and journalists.
00:25:15.380 So, I mean, yeah, I think the court has a lot to play in this as well. 0.86
00:25:20.160 Since the 20th century.
00:25:21.660 Walk us through some of your posts on social media that have gotten a lot of attention from Brazilians and really global election observers.
00:25:29.080 I mean, I'm just laying out the facts the way they are.
00:25:31.280 I mean, the Brazilians, the Brazilian people are desperate.
00:25:33.420 I mean, they voted in 2022 to re-elect Jair Bolsonaro.
00:25:37.720 And then Lula comes along.
00:25:39.080 The election's questionable.
00:25:40.460 They rally in the streets.
00:25:42.080 The military goes out.
00:25:43.320 They put down the rebellion, essentially.
00:25:44.920 They charge the president with staging a coup.
00:25:48.340 Now he sits in house arrest for the rest of his life.
00:25:52.520 You know, his son Eduardo,
00:25:53.900 he got the most votes in Brazilian history.
00:25:56.300 And in Congress, he's had to flee in exile
00:25:58.340 to the United States.
00:25:59.160 Journalists like Paulo Figueiredo
00:26:00.400 have to live in exile in the United States
00:26:03.260 for reporting on it i mean the brazilian people are desperate to free themselves from lula's
00:26:08.320 dictatorial reign and they thought they had the chance with with flavio they showed up they did
00:26:13.460 what they were asked to do they rallied they showed up they voted and it was taken from them
00:26:18.340 so i just i'm just speaking the truth and it's resonated with the brazilian people they're happy
00:26:23.120 to see that the united states and they're grateful that the united states is paying attention to
00:26:27.400 what's happening in brazil and we're giving a voice because it won't be long now because lula
00:26:30.780 already threatened to do it. It won't be long
00:26:32.620 before they turn off social media again, just like
00:26:34.640 they did in 2022. You're going to have to
00:26:36.660 connect through VPN, like they did in
00:26:38.480 Venezuela, after Maduro, after that
00:26:40.560 election. And so, but
00:26:42.080 Elon Musk, you know, he's already done. He's
00:26:44.640 already partnered up with a mobile phone company
00:26:46.680 to provide Starlink
00:26:48.500 mobile phone service in Brazil, in case
00:26:50.740 Lula starts doing some funny things.
00:26:52.760 But look at the pattern. Let's look at the pattern.
00:26:55.120 What happens when Lula wins?
00:26:56.820 Well, the fake news,
00:26:58.560 the fake news in Brazil and in the United
00:27:00.600 States. Tim Walls, you had
00:27:02.460 Zoran Mandani, you had Gavin Newsom,
00:27:05.060 you had even Mark Carney
00:27:06.560 of the new socialist, Emmanuel
00:27:08.540 Macron, rushing to congratulate
00:27:10.580 him on this miraculous win, along
00:27:12.640 with Soros' son, Alex, along with
00:27:14.640 the Democratic Socialists of America.
00:27:16.500 Before Flavio's
00:27:18.600 passports were even frozen, six
00:27:20.520 minutes after the vote came in, you had
00:27:23.240 seven minutes,
00:27:25.060 you had socialists in the United
00:27:26.920 States already congratulating Lula,
00:27:28.520 despite the irregularities, despite the request to annul the election
00:27:32.820 based on the fact that it was Bernie Sanders.
00:27:35.360 So understand what's happening here.
00:27:36.800 The same thing that happens in the United States.
00:27:39.060 The election ends.
00:27:40.160 They rush to legitimize the winner of the election.
00:27:44.180 They're quick to label Flavio the loser of the election.
00:27:47.020 And look at the narrative in the fake news.
00:27:48.720 The loser of the election, the guy who lost the election, Lula's the winner.
00:27:52.340 They're very careful with the words they use in order to craft a narrative
00:27:55.280 that's impossible to overcome.
00:27:56.680 a rebuttable presumption of victory in the presidential election
00:28:00.040 that now is going to take an act of overcoming social media censoring
00:28:04.040 to even talk about.
00:28:05.040 So, Matt, the reason why people in Brazil are excited
00:28:07.420 that I'm posting this stuff,
00:28:08.980 because they know that I still have a voice here in the United States.
00:28:11.540 I'm still, for now, allowed to say what I think the truth is,
00:28:14.920 and they're appreciative that people are paying attention
00:28:17.220 because they feel hopeless, they feel desperate,
00:28:19.260 and that's why Flavio had to escape the persecution,
00:28:22.840 political persecution in Brazil,
00:28:24.340 He'll come to the United States so he can fight for the Brazilian people from the USA.
00:28:28.520 You know, we talk about me being the one who pops a vein on this show.
00:28:31.040 My veins are, my blood pressure is totally under control.
00:28:35.320 Since the 20th century.
00:28:37.260 What do you think we ought to do about it?
00:28:38.920 Every single election.
00:28:39.920 After hearing David lay that out.
00:28:41.940 Sorry, I was going to, every single election.
00:28:43.380 Do you think that the United States has tools to fight back?
00:28:48.500 We can put pressure on.
00:28:50.720 And I think Bolsonaro is going to run a campaign from here.
00:28:55.660 Obviously, he said he's going to.
00:28:56.800 I think he's going to fight back.
00:28:58.140 And I think the people here are going to help amplify that as much as possible.
00:29:05.060 What difference that makes, who can possibly say?
00:29:08.240 I mean, how can you change a regime down there from here?
00:29:12.340 I don't know.
00:29:12.880 We'll see.
00:29:13.480 I certainly hope so.
00:29:14.840 It's definitely not over.
00:29:16.880 Absolutely not.
00:29:17.540 Bolsonaro is not going to give up.
00:29:18.920 He's got his dad, his history, everything there, every reason to fight for the Brazilian people.
00:29:24.720 He laid out a great post online talking about what he planned to do and how he's going to keep fighting.
00:29:30.140 So it's definitely not over.
00:29:32.060 What I wanted to say is that since the 20th century, in every single election in Brazil,
00:29:36.540 the voter turnout in the second round has always been dramatically lower than the first round.
00:29:43.060 There has only been one exception when that ever changed.
00:29:47.560 And that was his last election.
00:29:48.940 Well, and nobody who's ever won the first round
00:29:50.980 lost the second round.
00:29:52.860 But you know what I've noticed?
00:29:55.300 And you know, it's funny, my kids were even
00:29:56.880 asking me about this, and kids have the most common sense
00:29:58.800 in the world. They're like, Dad,
00:30:00.540 how does North Korea, how is Russia, 0.84
00:30:03.100 how does Iran, you know, how do these
00:30:04.820 places that call themselves Brazil, Venezuela,
00:30:07.340 Cuba, how do these places that call
00:30:08.980 themselves democracies, the people vote,
00:30:10.660 if the dictators are so bad, why do they vote
00:30:12.800 for them? And I have to
00:30:14.900 go, well, they don't really actually
00:30:16.940 vote for them they have elections but 99.9 percent of the people vote for the person who wins in
00:30:22.340 these countries i mean this is the way they do it they use the appearance of an election to prop up
00:30:27.240 essentially their totalitarian dictatorship and these aren't real elections and we're heading
00:30:32.300 the same way in the united states it doesn't matter who votes right gavin exactly and gavin
00:30:36.620 newsom has already invented the model here in california where you can have thousands and
00:30:40.320 thousands of non-residents registered to vote where you have an election system that allows
00:30:44.360 for mail-in ballots with no signatures, with no ID verification.
00:30:47.520 They can be ballot harvested from Skid Row.
00:30:50.260 They can do whatever they want.
00:30:51.140 And the cover for it is you cannot accuse Gavin Newsom of election fraud.
00:30:56.420 You know why?
00:30:57.020 Because the fraud can't be proven.
00:30:58.520 You know why?
00:30:59.100 Because they set up the perfect system where you can't prove the fraud
00:31:01.880 because it benefits them. 0.54
00:31:03.360 Welcome to Brazil.
00:31:06.420 Again, blood pressure totally normal. 0.74
00:31:07.860 I do want to stay in the Americas for our next story.
00:31:12.860 There's one more point I wanted to make.
00:31:13.980 There's one more point I wanted to make.
00:31:15.780 Win this.
00:31:17.140 This is really funny.
00:31:18.400 And I'm not on the poly markets at all.
00:31:20.280 So this is an outsider's perspective.
00:31:21.780 But when Calci had Bolsonaro massively favored to win, just massively, he was way ahead.
00:31:30.000 And then as soon as there was news that there was any kind of corruption, any corruption, they didn't even tell what it was.
00:31:37.400 They didn't even say what the corruption was.
00:31:39.320 There was news of some kind of election irregularity.
00:31:41.720 it completely flipped and it went to lula so i think that you know when people hear about
00:31:47.580 corruption in elections they immediately assume the democrats are going to win that's a good point
00:31:52.060 that's when i knew bolsonaro was cooked when i saw that they were changing the rules in the
00:31:59.300 middle of the game that that was not going to inure to the benefit of the person not in power
00:32:04.040 um i do want to get to this other key story in the americas el salvador now mobilizing
00:32:10.620 2,000 troops that will soon be in Haiti searching for their four countrymen who were ambushed and
00:32:17.880 abducted by the Haitian gangs that run the country. It is my sincere hope that they find 0.99
00:32:23.700 these people alive and are able to return them. But if the cannibalistic, Satanistic,
00:32:32.300 voodoo-worshipping gang leaders have tortured and killed these Salvadorians, it's my expectation 1.00
00:32:38.700 that they will be meeting their maker very soon 1.00
00:32:41.820 on the orders of Salvadorian President Naive Bukele.
00:32:45.680 David, what do you expect in this escalating conflict?
00:32:50.940 You know, this is why it's so important
00:32:53.020 that we have all of these allies in South America.
00:32:56.920 I mean, these are the things that United States
00:32:58.740 by themselves had to do.
00:33:00.520 And now we have allies in South America
00:33:02.820 who can actually fight for, you know,
00:33:04.780 and rightfully so, for the protection of their own people.
00:33:07.520 What you're seeing here,
00:33:08.480 And I hope and I believe Ecuador will be successful.
00:33:11.820 Hopefully they find them alive. 1.00
00:33:13.040 And if not, hopefully, you know, the Haitian gangs have a price to pay for it. 0.98
00:33:17.540 But again, this is not just the United States problem anymore. 0.76
00:33:20.160 These this is how the Western alliance is going to work.
00:33:24.100 We have so many allies now south in Central America, South America.
00:33:27.260 And together we can fight all of this in our hemisphere. 0.97
00:33:31.180 This is our hemisphere now, which is why Brazil upsets me so much.
00:33:34.220 The biggest piece of the puzzle, the largest economy in South America, one of the largest 0.80
00:33:37.560 economies in the world. That could have been one of our greatest
00:33:39.700 allies to fighting off China, 1.00
00:33:42.080 to fighting some of these 1.00
00:33:43.480 scourges of our hemisphere,
00:33:45.680 the cartels, the drug trade,
00:33:47.740 murdering gangs.
00:33:49.780 We have the real opportunity for peace
00:33:51.720 and it could start in our hemisphere, but we have to beat 0.89
00:33:53.560 the communists first. I wish best of luck 0.96
00:33:55.700 to them. It's true.
00:33:57.740 Best of luck to the Ecuadorians and hopefully 0.90
00:33:59.560 they find them alive and if not, hopefully
00:34:01.580 Godspeed. Salvadorians.
00:34:03.000 Sorry, I'm in 0.99
00:34:05.940 South America. I'm playing it in my head.
00:34:07.560 I got it. And by the way, not for nothing, but the Ecuadorians are actually taking the fight to the drug cartels, too, thanks to the very dynamic that you just described, the Don Roe Doctrine, our efforts to build up our partner allies.
00:34:20.660 But here, Pearson, there is something more than just the kinetic shots of bullets at play.
00:34:28.820 You have these gang leaders worshiping Satan.
00:34:31.820 You have them performing voodoo rituals.
00:34:34.420 And Bukele has combated that with a very definitive statement that God will be on the side of the Salvadorians in this battle as God was on the side of those who helped rid El Salvador of the MS-13 gangs.
00:34:48.220 Now, it's important to note, MS-13 was a very different fighting force than the Haitian gangs.
00:34:54.120 MS-13 had more money.
00:34:55.780 They had more weapons.
00:34:56.780 They had more infrastructure.
00:34:57.940 They had more global allies.
00:34:59.980 The Haitian gangs are largely an offshoot of narco-trafficking into the United States, which is significant, but not the same thing.
00:35:08.200 What do you make of the direct appeals to both God and Satan on opposite sides of this crusade? 0.93
00:35:15.960 I'm really looking forward to this because Bukele clearly does not put up with much.
00:35:21.280 He's going to lay down the law.
00:35:23.100 I hope we get these guys back. 1.00
00:35:25.480 Haiti is not a country at this point. 0.99
00:35:27.580 It's a collection of gangs who are fighting each other.
00:35:30.400 That's, I mean, that's all Haiti is at this point.
00:35:35.360 Gangs control 70% of Port-au-Prince at this point.
00:35:39.420 So really, there is no government to work with.
00:35:42.260 So you've just got to roll in with the military.
00:35:44.700 And I'd like to point out that the U.S. helped El Salvador.
00:35:48.580 We brought in their troops on this mission with our own C-130s.
00:35:53.820 We flew them in and dropped them off.
00:35:55.580 So we might be doing more help behind the scenes.
00:35:58.280 I hope we are. 1.00
00:35:59.260 We need to clear out Haiti. 1.00
00:36:00.620 I don't know how you do that with a flamethrower, 1.00
00:36:03.160 because I don't think there's anything left to save at this point.
00:36:06.860 But clearly Bukele knows what he's doing.
00:36:08.780 In 2017, there were 3,900, almost 4,000 murders that year.
00:36:16.320 Last year, 82.
00:36:19.840 This guy knows his business.
00:36:21.480 He knows what he's doing.
00:36:22.760 So if anybody can clean that country up or can, and that's not obviously a stated objective,
00:36:27.740 but if anybody can fix this, I think he can.
00:36:30.300 And I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
00:36:32.660 What I would also note for our audience is that when Bukele beat MS-13, he didn't do 0.74
00:36:41.140 it by leveling apartment buildings and killing civilians.
00:36:45.700 Bukele went out of his way to ensure that even the wives and baby mamas and girlfriends
00:36:50.240 of gang members were not killed or harmed to every extent possible.
00:36:55.340 And so I think he wants to be targeted.
00:36:57.780 I think he understands the value of kind of a decapitation strategy against some of these
00:37:04.520 leaders who have been repressive and taunting.
00:37:08.020 But Pearson makes an interesting point about the country at large, David.
00:37:11.340 I wonder how you separate the gangs from the population.
00:37:16.100 The population has been very supportive of the gangs.
00:37:18.800 We obviously don't want to see any civilians harmed or killed, but you don't have people
00:37:24.000 wearing uniforms.
00:37:25.160 You don't have insignia.
00:37:26.400 You just have a total mess. Do you think Bukele can do what Pearson described while at the same time limiting civilian casualties to the maximum extent possible?
00:37:37.100 I think I think they I think they have an idea of who the people are that they need to target.
00:37:43.980 You know, sometimes you just got to pluck the queen out of the hive and then the rest of the bees will fall in line.
00:37:49.120 Keep in mind, I mean, some of these people are children wielding machetes.
00:37:52.100 Well, again, like I said, all bees, all bees follow a queen. And once you eliminate the queen, the bees fall in line. And but I will say this, if the U.N. wasn't so committed to this, you know, the socialization of the West, this would be a perfect opportunity for the U.N. to actually do what the U.N. is supposed to do.
00:38:12.640 I mean, this is on the border of a failed state where you could use peacekeeping troops to go in there and provide some security to the poor Haitian people.
00:38:19.940 I mean, you have people there that are suffering.
00:38:21.620 There's innocent people, as you just mentioned, that are living amongst this gang violence, desperate to get out of there.
00:38:26.860 The U.N. is in there.
00:38:27.980 The U.N. has a gang suppression force of over 2,000 people who are there right now.
00:38:32.200 And they're not doing a good job.
00:38:33.340 They're not doing anything.
00:38:34.360 And there's a reason for that, obviously, because it doesn't meet what the U.N.'s agenda is.
00:38:38.540 And I don't know if we even have to get to it today, if we have time to get to it today.
00:38:42.280 But when you saw the Cuban delegation at the UN pointing their finger and screaming at our ambassador to the UN because he was pointing out the fact that the Cuban dictators have Rolexes in private islands while the rest of the people starve in darkness. 0.59
00:38:54.560 and be like, how dare you tell people the truth
00:38:56.340 and screaming on our soil 1.00
00:38:58.740 when you have Cuban 0.71
00:39:00.600 dictators emboldened
00:39:02.700 when, of course, we have Democratic
00:39:04.500 Socialist candidates who can't admit that they're
00:39:06.300 dictators, but when you
00:39:08.500 have them emboldened to point their
00:39:10.540 fingers at our delegation in
00:39:12.540 the United States on our soil,
00:39:14.260 it shows you really the disdain
00:39:16.940 that not only the UN, but
00:39:18.580 even people in our region have for the United States
00:39:20.620 and they see an opportunity, an opening
00:39:22.360 to kind of assert themselves over the West at this point.
00:39:25.320 Well, he learned real quick.
00:39:26.220 They got kicked out.
00:39:26.960 Well, they shouldn't.
00:39:28.380 No, they're going to learn real quick
00:39:30.480 when he's sitting next to Maduro.
00:39:31.720 Hopefully, they know Portuguese. 1.00
00:39:32.920 Well, Rubio kicked him out. 1.00
00:39:33.820 But long and short of it is I think UN is a case.
00:39:40.720 I mean, Haiti.
00:39:42.140 Sorry, I'm going to too many countries in my head.
00:39:44.080 I feel like the globe is spinning in my head. 1.00
00:39:47.640 But no, I feel like Haiti is a perfect example
00:39:49.100 of the failure of the UN not doing actually
00:39:51.240 what it's supposed to do.
00:39:52.360 and protect innocent people, and the fact that, you know, countries have to go and put their own troops at risk,
00:39:58.000 and the fact that innocent people are potentially at risk because of these gangs shows you where the priorities are.
00:40:02.480 Is the U.N. even valuable anymore?
00:40:03.600 By the way, we have Blackwater over there. Blackwater is working with the U.N. government.
00:40:06.320 They've been there a while.
00:40:07.160 Yeah.
00:40:07.480 They've been there a while.
00:40:08.160 Yeah.
00:40:09.000 So they might be a part of this, too.
00:40:10.040 I think that Salvadorian success could showcase the futility of the U.N. component, just as the two of you were discussing.
00:40:20.780 So here's the math on this. The UN put a billion dollars into the gang suppression force. The United States did. The United States gave the billion dollars. It went through the UN. And you know what they did? They went and got a bunch of Kenyans and Chadians and dropped off a bunch of African soldiers in Haiti. And they didn't do a lick to actually defeat the gangs.
00:40:44.740 And so if by virtue of a binational agreement that El Salvador has with Haiti, if by virtue of that they are able to achieve success, it really gets back to David's original point. 0.90
00:40:59.640 The United States directly building up our allies to have capabilities and utility will do more for us than giving a billion dollars to the U.N. to go launder through a bunch of Kenyans. 0.96
00:41:12.040 That could be the real lesson here geopolitically. 0.99
00:41:16.460 Let me ask.
00:41:18.120 I mean, why don't – and look, this is a radical suggestion.
00:41:22.940 Why don't we just focus on our hemisphere and get out of the U.N. completely?
00:41:28.360 Does the U.N. – honestly, does the U.N. do anything for us?
00:41:32.000 Does helping European nations that hate us and then other nations that are a party to the U.N. come to our country in New York City, the Iranians, the Cubans and whoever, and just lecture us, the secretary generals of the U.N. lecturing us.
00:41:46.400 How about we say, OK, U.N., good luck.
00:41:48.620 Move this to like the Hague or something.
00:41:50.920 And instead, our hemisphere is going to start our own United Nations.
00:41:55.980 It's going to be called the Union of Western Nations.
00:41:58.900 And together with our partners and allies in South America and Central America, we're going to fortify our hemisphere. 0.93
00:42:05.300 We're going to clean up our hemisphere. 0.98
00:42:06.900 And when they're screaming and crying that France is being looted by socialists, we're going to say, yeah, that really sucks. 0.96
00:42:13.340 Do you remember when we were all together and fighting off those socialists and you opened your borders to them? 0.94
00:42:17.960 Life is choices, my friends.
00:42:19.600 Yeah, that's a tremendous idea.
00:42:21.360 I want to get to another big technological evolution that is happening on our border.
00:42:29.800 And frankly, what Donald Trump did on our border dramatically stabilized countries in Central and South America,
00:42:36.760 because during the Biden era, a third of El Salvador moved into the United States.
00:42:42.700 And that isn't good for those countries. It's not good for our country.
00:42:47.140 And so border security has had cascading positive stability throughout the hemisphere, and they've got a new tool.
00:42:55.100 I think we've got a video of the new heat wave that is non-lethal force, but also non-comfortable in some ways.
00:43:03.840 Play the clip.
00:43:17.140 i hesitate to ask this because well i hesitate to ask this because i'm i'm worried about what
00:43:45.040 the answer is going to be pearson is that is the non-lethal heat wave enough for you no no it's not
00:43:52.580 i've i've i've maintained for a long time we could save a lot on border security and and spending
00:43:58.620 we could just get rid of the wall entirely and just put towers every 500 yards and and put snipers
00:44:05.500 up there and just lethal force lethal force at the board did you see uh poland's um minister
00:44:12.920 his minister of parliament uh he said give me give me three days and i will solve the 0.99
00:44:18.820 immigration problem he said if you come to poland illegally we will kill you that was his quote 0.87
00:44:25.260 so i think that's the the point is we're not trying to be uncompassionate to the people who 0.99
00:44:30.700 need help but don't come here illegally we don't know who the hell you are we know that jihadis
00:44:36.820 come across the border we know terrorists come across the border we know rapists and murderers 0.99
00:44:40.320 and gang members. We have thousands, tens of thousands, we know this for a fact, of Chinese 1.00
00:44:45.200 military-aged men coming over by themselves. Who is coming across our border? We don't know.
00:44:50.820 We don't want you. Go away. Come the legal way, or there will be consequences. So I think a heat 0.98
00:44:56.460 ray gun, that's cute, but I think we don't need that kind of advanced technology. We've had the
00:45:02.480 technology for a couple hundred years of what would keep people away from our borders permanently, 1.00
00:45:06.540 And I think we should use that.
00:45:09.780 I'm going to get Pearson a heat wave gun so that he can get through the snow of Ohio.
00:45:14.980 Like when he's getting into his cabin, he can melt the snow all around it.
00:45:19.800 David, is this a gimmick or a helpful new innovation?
00:45:24.260 It's actually a terrifying new innovation.
00:45:27.060 I mean, you've heard about the Havana syndrome and things like that with these directed energy weapons.
00:45:32.140 And I'm not sure how these particular ones work.
00:45:33.980 but from what I understand the way this works is...
00:45:35.420 The discombobulator?
00:45:35.920 Well, it uses sound waves.
00:45:37.240 And there's ways you can use these sound waves,
00:45:39.620 not just to create heat, but to actually, yeah,
00:45:43.220 you can fry the insides.
00:45:44.680 So it fires an invisible millimeter wave beam
00:45:48.600 that rapidly heats the surface of the skin,
00:45:50.480 which officials have compared to the blast of heat
00:45:52.480 felt when opening a hot oven
00:45:54.300 and which triggers an almost immediate urge to flee.
00:45:57.340 Okay, but understand that that is, you know,
00:46:00.120 there's a setting.
00:46:01.140 Yeah.
00:46:01.800 And what makes me nervous about this,
00:46:03.580 And this is why the future of war tech scares me always.
00:46:06.300 I mean, we've already seen the lethality of drones and how affordably you can kill people now, where it used to require a lot of sophistication.
00:46:13.580 Now you can have a little $300 drone with munitions on it, and it's proving quite effective in the Russia-Ukraine situation.
00:46:20.100 But if you look at these directed energy weapons, what I don't like about these is not just can our government use them to stop bad people.
00:46:27.920 I mean, this is what we always wish, right?
00:46:29.420 Oh, government has it. It's fine. We're only going to use it for bad people.
00:46:32.080 Next time we protest an election.
00:46:32.940 What happens next time you protect an election?
00:46:35.020 What happens if the bad guys get these?
00:46:36.740 Oh, dear.
00:46:37.540 Listen, but this is what scares me about this stuff.
00:46:39.640 I know Pearson's afraid of AI.
00:46:41.300 What I'm really afraid about is the AI using heat ray guns.
00:46:44.500 I'm afraid of people, and I'm afraid of governments having weapons that are way more sophisticated.
00:46:50.500 I mean, remember, the Second Amendment is there, so we have the same weapons our government has.
00:46:54.080 So we can always be the militia that we need to be to protect our rights.
00:46:59.760 Well, guess what?
00:47:01.260 The directed energy weapon is way more sophisticated than a musket.
00:47:04.780 And I don't think the Second Amendment ever prepared us for directed energy weapons.
00:47:08.760 So it really does scare me from sort of an authoritarian perspective.
00:47:13.000 What do you do with a government that has weapons that there is no defense for,
00:47:17.040 that you can't even hope to acquire to fight back?
00:47:20.280 This scares me.
00:47:21.460 There is the argument, and we go into a whole different topic here.
00:47:24.460 There is the argument that we don't have, what did Biden say?
00:47:28.740 you can't resist our government
00:47:30.920 or you can't rise up against us.
00:47:32.320 We've got tanks and we've got F-16s
00:47:34.940 and what are you going to do about that?
00:47:36.520 That's exactly right.
00:47:37.640 Let's just ask Afghanistan what they did about that.
00:47:39.680 That was the autopay that made that threat.
00:47:41.580 An autopay that made that threat.
00:47:43.040 Give that to Zoram and Dami
00:47:44.660 and see what he does with it. 0.81
00:47:46.060 Or Al-Sayed.
00:47:46.840 The point is, our military has, I think,
00:47:49.900 the stockpiles have 1.5 or 2 million
00:47:52.600 M-16 AR-15 rifles.
00:47:56.400 Americans have, I think, over 200 million
00:47:59.360 But we don't have directed energy weapons.
00:48:01.020 We don't have directed energy weapons, but those go, like, what, 50 yards?
00:48:03.480 The AR is good to 600 yards?
00:48:04.100 Oh, no, no, no, my friend.
00:48:05.280 Those go 50 yards.
00:48:07.940 There is stuff out there that goes well beyond 50 yards,
00:48:11.500 and it's not just gentle heat. 1.00
00:48:14.360 I take hope from Afghanistan. 1.00
00:48:16.800 If we couldn't beat a bunch of cave dwellers for 20 years, 1.00
00:48:19.780 what are they going to do against the armed citizens of the United States? 0.99
00:48:23.240 That's the only thing holding this country in check.
00:48:25.320 Look at what happened to the U.K.
00:48:26.960 They got rid of their guns in 1997.
00:48:29.480 Look where they are now.
00:48:30.320 It took one generation for them to lose all of their rights.
00:48:33.640 Different missions, Pearson, different missions. 0.99
00:48:35.980 Our goal wasn't to go to Afghanistan and take out all the cave dwellers. 0.99
00:48:39.500 It was to target specific terrorists. 0.99
00:48:41.960 Totally different missions.
00:48:43.340 And we couldn't do that.
00:48:44.540 Anyway.
00:48:46.020 Well, Pearson, I don't think we would have won the war if we'd have had the heat wave.
00:48:51.040 Correct.
00:48:51.320 I don't think that was the delineator.
00:48:54.580 But frankly, President Trump solved the border problem.
00:48:57.860 And so you guys have got me totally flipped on this thing, because at first I thought,
00:49:01.620 well, you know, this is kind of a nifty little tool.
00:49:03.660 But now that you've described it, I'm sitting here thinking the wall worked.
00:49:07.320 And if you wanted me to believe the government should have any weapon, the way you would
00:49:14.080 be most persuasive is to tell me that that could secure the border.
00:49:17.940 And I would be so eager for a secure border.
00:49:21.600 I would agree to almost anything.
00:49:23.100 But I think you guys have pointed out that we should always be skeptical when the government develops new capabilities and we should assess what the additional cascading utility of those capabilities would be.
00:49:36.280 I think David described it well.
00:49:37.880 Gentlemen, that brings us to the end of our time together, regrettably.
00:49:41.300 But I guess I guess the next time we get together, we will be in the post midterm postmortem.
00:49:47.660 So either we will be toasting David Pollock for being the great vanguard of optimism and the brilliant future predictor in all of this, or we will have Pearson Sharp lead us in crying in our own beer.
00:50:05.000 But one way or the other, we're going to have a lot to talk about next week.
00:50:08.120 Thanks so much to all of you for joining us on Anchorman.
