00:00:15.160 Hey everybody, how's it going?
00:00:16.920 Thanks for joining me this afternoon.
00:00:18.780 I've got a great stream with some great guests
00:00:20.700 that I think you're really going to enjoy.
00:00:23.740 You know, the blaze is still kind of shut down this week.
00:00:26.200 There's not a lot going on.
00:00:27.080 And usually this is where I have a casual stream, have friends on.
00:00:31.240 We kind of do a cozy Christmas stream and talk about,
00:00:34.120 because there's just, there's nothing going on in the news.
00:00:36.400 There's no big politics.
00:00:38.100 It's the last week of the year.
00:00:40.460 Everyone's kind of turned it off for the holidays,
00:00:42.780 Christmas and New Year's and all of those things.
00:00:44.800 And so it was just a time to kind of sit back and reflect
00:00:46.980 because, you know, we have that moment to catch our breath.
00:00:50.420 That is not what happened this week.
00:00:52.740 For some reason, on Christmas Day,
00:00:56.040 it built up a little before on Christmas Eve,
00:00:58.020 but on Christmas Day,
00:00:59.520 kind of the tech bro faction of the new right,
00:01:03.720 kind of the Elon Musks, the Vivek Rasmamis,
00:01:06.480 the David Sachs,
00:01:08.420 they decided that this was a great time
00:01:11.200 to start a discussion about the necessity
00:01:14.280 of increasing legal immigration,
00:01:17.160 specifically through the H-1B program.
00:01:20.700 And as you might imagine,
00:01:22.940 this entire MAGA movement,
00:01:25.640 all these Trump voters who specifically
00:01:27.840 and resoundingly made their voices heard
00:01:31.240 during this election,
00:01:32.880 giving a mandate to President Trump
00:01:35.960 based pretty much entirely on the fact
00:01:38.580 that they were tired of both illegal
00:01:40.420 and mass legal immigration,
00:01:43.980 snapped back.
00:01:44.520 They said, nope, that's,
00:01:45.780 we're not, we're not doing that.
00:01:46.920 We're pushing back.
00:01:47.660 We are not going to allow you guys,
00:01:49.900 we've had the rug pulled under us
00:01:51.880 too many times
00:01:52.940 when it comes to immigration.
00:01:54.600 We are not starting
00:01:55.860 the second Trump administration
00:01:57.020 with a betrayal over immigration policy.
00:02:00.320 And the tech guys were just blown away
00:02:02.780 by the response.
00:02:03.500 They couldn't believe
00:02:04.380 that these people were daring to tell them
00:02:07.340 that maybe, just maybe,
00:02:09.000 the fact that they arrived
00:02:10.560 in the MAGA coalition five minutes ago
00:02:12.800 means they don't get to dictate
00:02:14.400 immigration policy.
00:02:16.000 And it wasn't just a small disagreement.
00:02:18.340 Unfortunately, people like Vivek and Musk
00:02:21.100 got particularly nasty
00:02:22.560 towards those that were pushing back.
00:02:24.960 So I want to break down
00:02:26.240 some of the most important posts from this
00:02:28.680 and kind of give my thoughts.
00:02:31.060 And I have some of my favorite co-host guests
00:02:34.360 joining me here right before the new year.
00:02:37.300 Of course, we have the Prudentialists.
00:02:38.780 Thanks for coming on, man.
00:02:40.040 Happy as always to be here, Warren.
00:02:41.660 I hope you had a Merry Christmas.
00:02:43.280 Absolutely.
00:02:44.080 You, you, you too.
00:02:45.900 I'm sorry.
00:02:46.620 And Ryan Turnipseed.
00:02:47.780 Thanks for joining me, man.
00:02:48.640 Thank you very much for having me.
00:02:50.180 And Merry Christmas as well.
00:02:51.880 Yeah, Merry Christmas to both you guys.
00:02:53.760 And as always,
00:02:55.340 both these men have excellent
00:02:57.560 sub stacks and YouTube channels
00:03:00.480 and Twitters.
00:03:01.180 And you should check out all of that stuff.
00:03:03.000 We'll make sure to plug it again at the end.
00:03:04.640 But make sure you're starting
00:03:05.600 your new year off right
00:03:07.500 with subscribing to some of the best content
00:03:09.460 out there from these gentlemen.
00:03:12.520 But just before we dive into
00:03:14.980 kind of all the tweets,
00:03:16.740 I don't want to lay out the entire timeline.
00:03:18.820 I don't want to go through every single post
00:03:20.540 because this went on.
00:03:21.820 It was pretty wild for days and days and days.
00:03:25.320 Again, a lot of people got very heated.
00:03:27.880 Musk has now since deleted
00:03:29.560 some of these posts
00:03:30.740 in response to kind of what has happened.
00:03:34.520 But Prudentialists,
00:03:36.260 why don't you set out your thoughts first?
00:03:38.360 A lot of what we got here immediately
00:03:40.520 was the MAG has been betrayed
00:03:44.700 and we told you guys this was coming
00:03:47.200 and the tech bros were all,
00:03:48.380 you know, we knew this.
00:03:49.220 And it's like, yeah, guys, we knew this too.
00:03:51.660 Like we had said this from the beginning
00:03:53.660 that obviously while these were kind of
00:03:56.600 co-belligerents moving in this direction,
00:03:59.880 ultimately Musk and some of these guys
00:04:01.540 had different priorities
00:04:02.500 and we were going to have to hash this out after.
00:04:05.120 So were you surprised when this kind of erupted?
00:04:07.340 I was surprised that it happened as soon as it did.
00:04:11.220 Ryan and I in a previous conversation
00:04:13.420 had outlined sort of the history
00:04:15.620 of right-wing infighting
00:04:17.640 and that every time that there is an election
00:04:19.720 and Republicans win,
00:04:21.400 there's always a knife out for the backs of those
00:04:23.880 that are also scrambling for jobs,
00:04:25.960 influence, power, money, et cetera.
00:04:28.160 And so to witness on Christmas Day
00:04:30.520 to see all this sort of play out
00:04:32.320 and blow up the way that it has, 0.72
00:04:33.580 the silver lining really to all of it
00:04:35.580 is that this is happening before the inauguration.
00:04:37.960 I said the day after the,
00:04:39.600 the morning after the election,
00:04:40.820 I said that the fights are going to come,
00:04:42.660 especially over immigration
00:04:43.960 and especially when it comes to the issue
00:04:45.980 of say, you know,
00:04:48.080 just subcontinental or Indian representation
00:04:50.320 in regards to this administration
00:04:52.120 or with politics in Silicon Valley,
00:04:54.160 what kind of sway are the Vivek Ramoswamis
00:04:56.820 and Elon Musk's of the world
00:04:58.400 really going to have on this administration?
00:04:59.680 And it was just kind of interesting that,
00:05:01.940 you know, to read the room for a second,
00:05:03.380 to do a little optics check here
00:05:04.820 that all of a sudden,
00:05:06.000 you know, Elon Musk backed
00:05:07.320 the immigration restriction as candidate,
00:05:09.240 even legal immigration went down
00:05:10.720 under Trump's first administration.
00:05:12.200 And you want to open your mouth on Christmas Day
00:05:14.560 when most of, you know,
00:05:15.720 like white Christian middle America 0.77
00:05:17.160 is going to be celebrating
00:05:18.480 the birth of our savior,
00:05:19.700 that you want to double down
00:05:20.700 on an immigration system
00:05:21.840 that is fraudulent, broken, does not work,
00:05:24.340 and has a group of people
00:05:25.300 most famously known for saying,
00:05:26.600 do not redeem on the birth of the redeemer.
00:05:28.300 So I can't say I'm surprised,
00:05:30.420 but it's good that this fight's happening now.
00:05:33.060 And I likewise wasn't really surprised at all.
00:05:37.040 This idea that we somehow thought
00:05:40.540 that Musk was going to save us,
00:05:41.980 that we thought Musk was some sort of
00:05:43.600 mid-century South African stand-in
00:05:47.240 just doesn't bear out if you look at our history.
00:05:50.420 I think just about every one of us
00:05:52.040 has spoken against transhumanism,
00:05:53.780 which is specifically Musk's idea and ideology.
00:05:56.720 I think we've all spoken against it
00:05:59.060 at least once before he announced his pick
00:06:02.980 for Donald Trump, his support for him.
00:06:06.400 Just about every one of us thought
00:06:07.900 that he was basically a subversive liberal
00:06:10.820 who might be trending in our direction.
00:06:13.120 And to our credit,
00:06:15.300 he has trended in our direction.
00:06:16.660 He is less subversive now
00:06:17.800 than he certainly was two years ago.
00:06:19.520 But I think maybe the biggest irony
00:06:23.180 is that everyone was getting really excited
00:06:24.860 that maybe some South African blood memories
00:06:27.280 were awakening within Musk.
00:06:28.940 And then everyone freaks out
00:06:30.040 when he wants to import a middle-class labor supply
00:06:33.020 from a completely different continent.
00:06:35.440 Very South African. 0.76
00:06:36.500 Yeah, I would go ahead
00:06:40.000 and just kind of echo both of your sentiments
00:06:42.340 that this is something that we knew was going to happen,
00:06:46.160 that this is something that easily could have been predicted.
00:06:49.340 And many of us did exactly that.
00:06:52.180 And that while Elon has been moving our direction,
00:06:56.060 none of this is particularly new.
00:06:57.960 Let's go to a few of the relevant tweets here.
00:07:01.360 This is Elon.
00:07:02.080 Someone says one of these Elon worship accounts is like,
00:07:06.960 oh, he's been super consistent on his stance on immigration.
00:07:10.340 And it's like, yes, yes, he has been.
00:07:12.020 We all knew this was his stance on immigration.
00:07:14.420 And the stance is,
00:07:15.120 we should be increasing legal immigration
00:07:17.020 of anyone who's hardworking, honest, and loves America.
00:07:20.480 Every such person is an asset to the country,
00:07:22.860 but massive illegal immigration of people
00:07:25.380 we know nothing about is insane.
00:07:28.720 So this has always been his position.
00:07:30.880 And he reiterates it here.
00:07:32.800 This is the right position for those who want America to win.
00:07:35.440 Now, we're going to talk about that question
00:07:37.200 and that statement in a second.
00:07:39.300 Then he says,
00:07:39.980 for those who want America to lose
00:07:41.640 and for their own personal gain,
00:07:43.260 I have no respect.
00:07:44.620 Zero.
00:07:46.220 Now, this is the problem with Musk from the very beginning.
00:07:48.840 It's the entire point of this
00:07:50.920 is not that Musk disagreed on this issue.
00:07:54.740 We all knew Musk disagreed on this issue.
00:07:57.180 He had been very clear about his disagreement on this issue.
00:07:59.440 That is not a betrayal.
00:08:01.000 It's not a surprise.
00:08:02.100 It's not a,
00:08:02.760 oh, how could this happen to us?
00:08:04.180 This guy was supposed to be,
00:08:05.400 you know,
00:08:06.200 the next savior or whatever.
00:08:08.700 Like, none of that happened.
00:08:10.240 Okay.
00:08:10.720 The problem for Elon
00:08:12.320 was the way he approached this debate.
00:08:16.000 From the very beginning,
00:08:17.320 we got a shell game.
00:08:19.140 He started off by saying,
00:08:21.060 H1Bs allow me to bring in the top talent in the world. 0.98
00:08:24.400 It's what allows me to create this scenario
00:08:27.680 where I can build rockets and go to Mars, right?
00:08:31.560 I have to have this top talent.
00:08:33.900 If not, we're getting,
00:08:34.860 you know,
00:08:35.180 we're getting rid of Von Braun.
00:08:37.460 We're getting rid of Einstein.
00:08:38.880 We're getting rid of Nikola Tesla.
00:08:40.560 Like, these are things he literally made,
00:08:42.280 you know,
00:08:42.540 he literally said kind of on the stream
00:08:45.100 while he was talking about it.
00:08:47.140 And yet,
00:08:48.280 or on the,
00:08:48.900 rather the timeline,
00:08:49.660 while he was talking about it.
00:08:50.520 And yet that is all not true.
00:08:52.880 Lost Prudentials here.
00:08:53.800 Let me pick him back up.
00:08:55.600 But that is just not true
00:08:57.340 because that is not what the H1B visa does.
00:09:00.780 There are all of the visa systems
00:09:02.640 in the United States are heavily abused,
00:09:04.740 but the O1 visa already exists
00:09:06.700 to bring in top talent.
00:09:08.360 It already exists to bring in
00:09:09.180 that once in a generation talent,
00:09:11.180 not just in science or not just in tech,
00:09:13.520 but across all kinds of domains,
00:09:15.280 arts, sports,
00:09:16.060 all kinds of things.
00:09:17.180 The problem for them
00:09:18.760 is that it has higher requirements.
00:09:20.980 It doesn't even have a cap on it.
00:09:22.260 It's just a lot harder to get
00:09:23.680 because it's not made
00:09:25.860 to like ship in
00:09:26.620 a bunch of middle-class managers.
00:09:28.120 That's what the H1B visa 1.00
00:09:29.560 mostly is used for.
00:09:31.660 But Musk acted as if
00:09:33.380 he had to have it
00:09:34.500 to just get like
00:09:35.980 the top engineering talent
00:09:37.560 in the world.
00:09:38.300 That's just not true.
00:09:39.540 And the fact that he kept
00:09:40.220 playing the shell game
00:09:41.600 with the visa classifications
00:09:43.420 was its own problem.
00:09:44.720 But then when anyone pointed out
00:09:46.160 that actually we should be prioritizing
00:09:48.740 American labor
00:09:49.940 over foreign labor,
00:09:51.440 he says,
00:09:51.940 oh, well, you're doing that
00:09:52.660 for your own personal gain.
00:09:55.020 No, you're importing cheap labor
00:09:57.200 for your personal gain.
00:09:58.960 You're hoping to bring in
00:10:00.200 a bunch of people
00:10:01.020 to fill in
00:10:02.480 what would be
00:10:03.380 middle-class
00:10:04.600 or upper-middle-class
00:10:05.800 salaries and jobs
00:10:08.840 so that you can pay them
00:10:10.120 less than what that wage
00:10:11.860 should be worth
00:10:12.760 and expect more work
00:10:14.340 out of them
00:10:14.900 for the lower wage.
00:10:16.400 That is what you are trying to do.
00:10:17.780 That is for your own personal gain.
00:10:19.900 People who are asking you
00:10:21.020 to not do this
00:10:21.800 are doing it
00:10:22.420 for their families,
00:10:23.860 doing it for their country.
00:10:25.480 They care about
00:10:26.220 the social fabric.
00:10:27.260 They care about the culture.
00:10:28.400 They care about
00:10:29.080 the safety issues.
00:10:30.640 We just had a doctor
00:10:32.220 from Saudi Arabia
00:10:33.720 run over a bunch of kids
00:10:35.260 in Germany
00:10:35.840 at a Christmas market.
00:10:37.680 He's the ideal immigrant, right? 1.00
00:10:39.000 He's hardworking.
00:10:39.900 He's educated.
00:10:41.080 He's got all these credentials.
00:10:43.460 Guess what?
00:10:43.880 He can kill kids, too.
00:10:45.440 He's just fine.
00:10:46.260 They can be terrorists, too.
00:10:48.160 But he just throws
00:10:49.100 all of these concerns
00:10:50.080 to the side
00:10:50.520 and says,
00:10:50.980 I have zero respect for you.
00:10:52.520 And this was like
00:10:53.140 the lowest amount
00:10:54.580 of insulting he did
00:10:55.660 to people who disagreed
00:10:56.740 with him.
00:10:57.140 And so, again,
00:10:57.760 it's not that
00:10:58.920 the debate was had.
00:10:59.980 It's the fact that
00:11:00.840 the guy at the center
00:11:02.000 of the debate
00:11:02.560 couldn't act like an adult
00:11:04.440 and a leader
00:11:04.980 for 10 seconds.
00:11:08.860 Right.
00:11:09.300 And also something
00:11:11.020 that wasn't mentioned here
00:11:12.540 is that there was
00:11:13.160 a second party
00:11:15.400 to this debate
00:11:16.100 who was arguably
00:11:17.020 more inflammatory
00:11:17.840 who did just immediate...
00:11:20.000 In fact,
00:11:20.460 I think we can blame
00:11:21.220 the Vex Post
00:11:21.980 for starting most of this argument.
00:11:23.080 Yeah, I have that one
00:11:23.720 queued up as well,
00:11:24.420 of course.
00:11:24.980 Right.
00:11:25.580 And just because
00:11:26.920 you mentioned it,
00:11:27.860 I was going to say
00:11:28.600 I think that one
00:11:29.360 was the most knives out
00:11:30.380 specifically for
00:11:31.460 middle America.
00:11:32.940 The fact that Musk
00:11:34.060 jumped on that
00:11:35.000 and thought
00:11:35.420 this is the good off-ramp
00:11:36.640 to start arguing
00:11:37.400 for H-1B visas,
00:11:39.020 which I'm sure
00:11:40.280 we'll get to this
00:11:40.840 later in the segment.
00:11:42.620 Everyone dug into
00:11:43.800 and found out
00:11:44.500 that, huh,
00:11:44.940 this isn't really
00:11:45.480 top talent.
00:11:46.340 They're hiring
00:11:47.260 accountants
00:11:48.320 and waiters
00:11:49.820 and whatever else
00:11:50.820 things,
00:11:51.320 jobs that are
00:11:52.100 not the most glamorous
00:11:53.480 of the high class
00:11:54.460 but nevertheless
00:11:56.040 are needed for
00:11:57.180 especially the lower
00:11:58.480 segments of middle America.
00:12:01.040 This wasn't
00:12:02.280 the greatest
00:12:02.680 on-ramp for Musk
00:12:04.240 and I do think
00:12:05.640 that this proves
00:12:06.640 that Musk
00:12:07.140 isn't some
00:12:07.720 conniving mastermind
00:12:08.960 behind the scenes
00:12:09.820 just trying to
00:12:11.460 gently direct us
00:12:12.540 all into
00:12:13.140 some sort of
00:12:14.200 transhumanist dystopia.
00:12:16.060 I think this proves
00:12:16.920 that Musk
00:12:17.300 is just a rabid
00:12:18.440 ideologue
00:12:19.660 which there's nothing
00:12:20.960 wrong with that
00:12:21.460 inherently
00:12:21.900 but a rabid ideologue
00:12:23.080 for his sort of
00:12:25.500 plan for space
00:12:27.240 colonization
00:12:27.860 and whatever else.
00:12:28.600 He wants a sci-fi
00:12:29.360 utopia
00:12:29.920 and he doesn't
00:12:31.280 actually have
00:12:31.920 most of the
00:12:32.780 public skills
00:12:34.260 to get there.
00:12:34.780 He did not
00:12:35.620 pick this fight
00:12:36.220 well if he has
00:12:36.820 some conniving
00:12:37.380 mastermind
00:12:38.020 trying to
00:12:38.420 subvert us.
00:12:40.260 Yeah, let me
00:12:40.600 read this.
00:12:41.120 Oh, go ahead.
00:12:41.980 Oh, I was about
00:12:42.360 to say, you know,
00:12:43.140 it turns out a
00:12:43.720 Redditor is still
00:12:44.420 a Redditor after
00:12:45.100 all these years.
00:12:45.940 Who would have
00:12:46.400 been surprised?
00:12:48.140 I mean, I think
00:12:48.860 that this just
00:12:49.360 illustrates that
00:12:50.140 I get it.
00:12:50.860 You have to stick
00:12:51.480 with your guns
00:12:52.200 on the issues
00:12:52.800 that keep the
00:12:53.540 whole system afloat.
00:12:55.120 I mean, Silicon
00:12:55.620 Valley does benefit
00:12:57.540 greatly from H1B
00:12:58.760 visas but as we've
00:12:59.700 learned throughout
00:13:00.100 this fight,
00:13:00.620 it turns out,
00:13:01.480 as Ryan was saying,
00:13:02.500 this is not the
00:13:03.200 creme de la creme,
00:13:04.200 this is not the
00:13:04.840 best of the
00:13:05.260 brightest and in
00:13:06.360 fact, we've had
00:13:07.000 everything displayed
00:13:07.880 on this H1B
00:13:08.660 database that the
00:13:09.540 government keeps
00:13:10.180 from everything
00:13:10.640 from line cooks
00:13:12.040 to male strippers 0.52
00:13:13.340 being available
00:13:14.180 for H1B visas.
00:13:15.480 I mean,
00:13:15.720 less seminary
00:13:17.220 professors.
00:13:18.100 Yeah, all that
00:13:18.660 in there.
00:13:19.600 I mean, literally
00:13:20.040 just a great
00:13:21.120 database to prove
00:13:21.980 like, hey, this
00:13:22.700 great replacement
00:13:23.360 thing's happening
00:13:24.020 is right before
00:13:24.620 your eyes.
00:13:25.380 Well, my favorite
00:13:25.900 part was the
00:13:26.780 interns.
00:13:27.820 They had H1B
00:13:28.880 requests for
00:13:29.780 interns.
00:13:30.320 The whole
00:13:31.040 point, the
00:13:31.720 whole argument
00:13:32.360 is that these
00:13:33.020 people have
00:13:33.720 skills we need.
00:13:35.300 It's the whole
00:13:36.020 argument, it's the
00:13:36.740 entire argument
00:13:37.840 is that they are
00:13:38.700 just irreplaceable
00:13:39.840 geniuses who bring
00:13:41.100 so much and
00:13:42.900 they're getting
00:13:43.240 hired in
00:13:43.700 internships, the
00:13:44.680 place where people
00:13:45.160 are supposed to
00:13:45.680 go to get
00:13:46.660 experience while
00:13:47.620 Americans are
00:13:48.220 desperately hoping
00:13:49.220 to get an
00:13:49.600 unpaid internship.
00:13:51.080 Like, it's just
00:13:51.740 like, like,
00:13:52.320 obviously you're
00:13:52.860 right, like the
00:13:53.440 gas station
00:13:54.460 attendance and the,
00:13:55.860 you know, all the
00:13:56.680 other stuff that
00:13:57.420 obviously just
00:13:58.200 disproves this.
00:13:58.880 But again, that's
00:13:59.500 another gift of
00:14:00.340 this discussion
00:14:01.120 is how it lit
00:14:03.780 up the rest of
00:14:05.460 America, you
00:14:06.360 know, really made
00:14:06.920 them aware of
00:14:08.480 what was going
00:14:09.660 on with the
00:14:10.400 system, how
00:14:11.000 thoroughly it is
00:14:11.980 abused.
00:14:12.600 You just can't
00:14:13.560 escape the data
00:14:14.480 once you start
00:14:15.180 seeing it.
00:14:15.920 I mean, even
00:14:16.320 Eric Weinstein, of
00:14:17.620 all people, was
00:14:18.700 posting studies
00:14:19.820 coming from, you
00:14:21.780 know, different
00:14:22.200 parts of the
00:14:22.800 government talking
00:14:23.640 about how H1B
00:14:25.340 recipients would
00:14:26.500 specifically depress
00:14:27.640 pay for,
00:14:28.880 American college
00:14:30.380 professors, which,
00:14:31.260 you know, given
00:14:31.620 the status of
00:14:32.900 American college
00:14:33.460 professors, not
00:14:34.060 crying too much
00:14:34.620 for these people,
00:14:35.260 but you get it.
00:14:36.280 Like, you know,
00:14:36.880 even center-left
00:14:39.420 guys are pointing
00:14:41.000 out, actually,
00:14:41.860 no, like, we
00:14:42.860 specifically have
00:14:43.620 papers, you know,
00:14:44.580 showing this.
00:14:45.160 But yet, again,
00:14:45.940 here's Elon's
00:14:46.640 response, right?
00:14:47.360 This is one of his
00:14:47.880 tweets.
00:14:48.100 The reason I'm in
00:14:49.340 America, along with
00:14:51.300 so many critical
00:14:52.020 people who built
00:14:52.640 SpaceX, Tesla, and
00:14:53.620 hundreds of other
00:14:54.120 companies, is they
00:14:55.020 made America strong
00:14:55.860 is because of
00:14:56.740 H1B.
00:14:58.100 Take a big step
00:14:59.200 and F yourself
00:15:00.460 in the face.
00:15:01.340 I'll go to war 0.96
00:15:01.900 in the shoes like
00:15:02.580 it's when you
00:15:03.140 cannot possibly
00:15:03.720 comprehend.
00:15:04.180 Now, obviously,
00:15:04.920 he likes to
00:15:05.580 quote Tropical
00:15:07.620 Thunder, Tom
00:15:08.440 Cruise's character
00:15:09.180 in that.
00:15:10.320 He's done that
00:15:11.060 multiple times.
00:15:11.820 He's trying to be
00:15:12.500 funny here.
00:15:13.240 But given the
00:15:14.000 context of what
00:15:14.940 he's saying, it's
00:15:15.880 just so incredibly
00:15:17.100 insulting.
00:15:17.960 Like, yeah, I
00:15:18.980 know that I'm in
00:15:20.280 your country and I'm
00:15:21.240 a guest in your
00:15:22.040 country and you've
00:15:22.800 been kind enough to
00:15:24.160 host me and give
00:15:24.900 me this opportunity.
00:15:26.400 But by the way, I
00:15:27.420 only built this
00:15:28.320 because I brought
00:15:28.980 in foreign labor
00:15:29.820 and I'm going to
00:15:30.300 go to war with
00:15:31.020 you over this and
00:15:31.660 tell you to go F
00:15:32.300 yourself if you
00:15:33.280 have any opposition
00:15:34.280 to it.
00:15:38.540 Humorous or not,
00:15:39.320 I mean, it does
00:15:39.760 illustrate just a
00:15:41.400 really bad read on
00:15:43.100 the situation.
00:15:44.060 And I would like
00:15:45.520 Musk to be bullied 1.00
00:15:46.840 into, and I don't
00:15:47.600 even want to say
00:15:48.060 bully, but I mean,
00:15:48.640 it really is the way
00:15:49.380 that it's been for
00:15:49.920 the last several days
00:15:50.820 is that he needs to
00:15:51.520 be bullied into the
00:15:52.300 correct position,
00:15:53.240 which is that I
00:15:53.940 get it, for your
00:15:54.620 system to maintain
00:15:55.560 itself as it is.
00:15:57.140 You want this to
00:15:57.900 work.
00:15:58.520 But, you know, go
00:15:59.280 off and go to war, 0.86
00:16:00.780 and even if you're
00:16:01.280 trying to be humorous
00:16:02.220 about it, no one's
00:16:02.860 going to read that
00:16:03.440 text message or that
00:16:04.980 tweet like it's meant
00:16:05.840 to be humorous.
00:16:06.580 No, everyone is going
00:16:07.360 to read this exactly
00:16:08.140 what it is.
00:16:08.740 It's an insult to the
00:16:10.100 people that are there.
00:16:11.020 And to have other
00:16:11.640 interactions where, like
00:16:12.800 the one that you have
00:16:13.320 on screen or where he
00:16:14.680 had said, well, you
00:16:15.380 know, someone had
00:16:15.820 replied to Elon and
00:16:16.500 he says, well, why
00:16:17.140 don't you just build a
00:16:17.840 school?
00:16:18.200 You've got the money
00:16:18.780 to do it.
00:16:19.220 And he says, well, if
00:16:19.580 you need a school,
00:16:23.940 where SpaceX is a
00:16:24.820 place where, you
00:16:25.740 know, they hunt for
00:16:26.300 people who don't
00:16:26.900 necessarily have
00:16:27.900 degrees.
00:16:28.560 And for a guy that's,
00:16:29.660 you know, rambled on
00:16:30.480 about DEI and talking
00:16:31.920 about this, whether
00:16:32.480 it's from video games
00:16:33.480 to the ongoing
00:16:34.940 battles he's had with
00:16:35.940 the Biden
00:16:36.300 administration's
00:16:37.060 Justice Department
00:16:37.780 over ITAR and not
00:16:39.340 hiring asylum seekers 0.98
00:16:40.520 and non-citizens or
00:16:42.120 at least people with
00:16:42.760 permanent resident
00:16:43.500 status, it illustrates
00:16:44.900 someone that did not
00:16:46.180 seriously take into
00:16:47.080 consideration that the
00:16:48.380 most important issue
00:16:49.360 that every person who
00:16:50.360 voted for Trump on
00:16:51.140 was immigration.
00:16:52.500 He is the
00:16:52.840 immigration restriction
00:16:53.760 as candidate.
00:16:54.660 And instead, what
00:16:55.380 we've witnessed over
00:16:56.420 the last week has
00:16:57.500 been a calvacade of
00:16:59.280 grifters, of
00:17:00.240 immigrants, of
00:17:01.140 individuals that have
00:17:02.040 come on board making
00:17:03.580 money off of a system
00:17:05.420 that benefits them
00:17:06.660 above the Native 0.96
00:17:07.580 American population
00:17:08.820 to simply say, no, you
00:17:10.760 guys are awful and we 0.70
00:17:12.000 don't want this.
00:17:12.720 And if you want to
00:17:13.180 prefer citizens over
00:17:14.180 immigrants, that's just 0.99
00:17:15.320 your own version of
00:17:16.300 DEI, despite the fact
00:17:18.100 that that's not what
00:17:18.860 DEI represents or
00:17:19.980 stands for.
00:17:20.860 Instead, it's just
00:17:21.520 simply saying, screw
00:17:22.400 you, we've got
00:17:23.280 ours and go away 0.86
00:17:24.320 somewhere and go
00:17:25.180 rot in a hole.
00:17:26.460 And that's really the
00:17:27.120 attitude that we've
00:17:27.860 witnessed from these
00:17:28.520 people.
00:17:28.840 And I'm sure Musk has
00:17:29.660 walked back a few of
00:17:30.500 his points.
00:17:30.880 Like you said, he's
00:17:31.460 deleted some of his
00:17:32.080 tweets.
00:17:32.920 But overall, what this
00:17:34.240 has been has been a
00:17:34.980 flashpoint in the
00:17:35.840 factions and that the
00:17:37.060 Californian ideology has
00:17:38.680 come home to roost.
00:17:39.780 They like their slave 0.98
00:17:40.920 labor.
00:17:41.440 They like what's going
00:17:42.380 on here.
00:17:43.060 And more importantly,
00:17:43.680 they would love to
00:17:44.400 talk about AI more
00:17:45.660 than this immigration 1.00
00:17:46.800 issue, because if you
00:17:48.000 think immigration is bad 1.00
00:17:49.060 with respect to the
00:17:49.720 economy, wait till AI.
00:17:50.720 Well, they've been
00:17:51.400 talking about this for
00:17:52.320 over 30 years.
00:17:53.280 The issue still hasn't
00:17:54.320 come abroad.
00:17:55.600 Sure, HEI might come
00:17:56.520 one day.
00:17:57.320 But at the end of it
00:17:58.020 all, what we're
00:17:58.420 witnessing is plain and
00:17:59.660 simple.
00:18:00.440 People who have gotten
00:18:01.680 here on a silver
00:18:02.660 platter with money and
00:18:04.080 have either made it by
00:18:05.020 grifting or being
00:18:06.060 fraudulent and scammy,
00:18:07.400 such as Patrick
00:18:08.060 Bet David and others,
00:18:09.600 to simply tell Middle
00:18:10.580 America and the rest of 0.62
00:18:11.640 us to, like you said,
00:18:13.240 go F off.
00:18:14.000 Well, and the funny
00:18:15.400 thing about this
00:18:16.000 screenshot that's
00:18:16.680 currently on screen is
00:18:17.580 that this is a parody
00:18:18.460 account of Patrick
00:18:19.560 Bet David, but for
00:18:21.600 whatever reason, Musk
00:18:22.980 and the whole H-1B 0.83
00:18:25.780 supportive crowd
00:18:26.820 couldn't tell the
00:18:27.440 difference, and quite
00:18:28.080 frankly, it's terrible
00:18:28.900 parody because Patrick
00:18:29.960 Bet David was basically
00:18:30.960 saying the same things
00:18:31.880 on his own account.
00:18:33.200 But with this in mind,
00:18:35.140 though, if we can just
00:18:35.780 go back to the
00:18:36.340 screenshot very quickly
00:18:37.500 from that parody
00:18:39.220 account.
00:18:39.640 This is a fundamental
00:18:43.280 mis-framing, and this
00:18:45.780 really just goes to show
00:18:46.680 how important framing
00:18:48.300 of issues are, your
00:18:49.420 foundations, why do you
00:18:50.820 oppose something, why do
00:18:51.820 you support it?
00:18:53.360 The vast majority of
00:18:54.540 Americans do not support 1.00
00:18:56.180 DEI because it is
00:18:57.540 specifically aimed against
00:18:58.660 them and their children.
00:18:59.640 It prevents them from
00:19:00.320 getting jobs, it prevents
00:19:01.340 them from promoting, from
00:19:02.880 making things better for
00:19:03.820 their family, and it also
00:19:04.680 makes civilization worse.
00:19:06.000 Things are crumbling,
00:19:06.880 they're declining, our
00:19:09.160 quality has been guttering
00:19:11.380 for the last decade or
00:19:13.000 so, a couple of
00:19:14.140 decades.
00:19:14.940 That's why most
00:19:15.800 Americans dislike it.
00:19:17.260 And there's also a
00:19:18.680 large segment of that
00:19:19.560 same population that
00:19:20.480 dislikes it because they
00:19:21.280 don't like being
00:19:21.960 discriminated against on
00:19:23.520 the basis of their
00:19:24.240 skin color.
00:19:24.840 That's not me being
00:19:26.500 some sort of liberal or
00:19:27.800 whatever, it's just
00:19:28.580 that's the emotive
00:19:29.680 reaction for most of
00:19:31.220 these people.
00:19:32.300 However, what the H-1B
00:19:33.840 supportive crowd is
00:19:34.960 trying to do here in
00:19:35.800 this screenshot, for
00:19:37.000 whatever reason, once
00:19:37.680 again, they latched on to
00:19:38.540 this parody.
00:19:39.160 We can acknowledge
00:19:39.700 that.
00:19:40.120 But what they're
00:19:41.060 trying to do here is
00:19:41.820 they're trying to say
00:19:42.520 that this nation, they
00:19:45.340 have no conception of a
00:19:46.340 nation, to them it's the
00:19:47.260 sports team, which we'll
00:19:48.080 get into in a second.
00:19:49.560 This nation exists only
00:19:51.100 to promote the best and
00:19:52.440 brightest, and that's it.
00:19:53.420 That's their
00:19:53.980 foundational principle.
00:19:55.960 Otherwise, they
00:19:56.480 wouldn't be saying that
00:19:57.560 making sure that your
00:19:59.040 own are taken care of
00:20:00.000 and employed is DEI.
00:20:01.640 No one would have had
00:20:02.460 that conception.
00:20:03.220 No one would have
00:20:03.680 thought that was wrong
00:20:04.720 until we had this weird
00:20:06.560 conception of a nation,
00:20:07.640 which seems to have
00:20:08.580 invaded certain parts of
00:20:10.620 the center.
00:20:15.220 But yeah, no, the
00:20:16.520 sports team analogy is a
00:20:18.220 good one to get to real
00:20:19.080 quick because that is
00:20:20.380 just the most ridiculous
00:20:22.100 thing.
00:20:24.060 You know, Elon Musk
00:20:25.660 likened it to, oh,
00:20:26.900 America is like a sports 0.53
00:20:28.320 team.
00:20:28.660 You have to, if you want
00:20:29.520 to be competitive, you
00:20:30.400 have to find the best
00:20:32.760 players, right?
00:20:33.380 You have to get the best
00:20:34.200 players in each position.
00:20:35.320 If you're not recruiting
00:20:36.060 the top talent in those
00:20:37.640 positions, then, you
00:20:39.620 know, then the sports
00:20:40.560 team won't win.
00:20:41.820 And it's like, all right,
00:20:42.440 well, let's think about
00:20:43.100 that analogy for just a
00:20:44.340 second because it's
00:20:44.940 actually way worse for
00:20:46.100 your case than you think
00:20:47.320 it is.
00:20:48.060 Most people, their 0.86
00:20:49.460 biggest problem with
00:20:50.580 modern day sports is
00:20:51.720 that current athletes are
00:20:53.420 so mercenary.
00:20:54.600 They're willing to go
00:20:55.540 anywhere and do
00:20:56.500 anything for five more
00:20:58.040 dollars.
00:20:58.540 They will leave a team
00:21:00.140 that has invested them
00:21:01.220 for years, fans who have
00:21:02.380 cheered for them for
00:21:03.140 years just because
00:21:04.820 there's a slightly
00:21:05.960 larger opportunity
00:21:06.880 somewhere else.
00:21:07.400 Even entire teams will
00:21:08.340 do this, right?
00:21:08.900 They'll just pick up and
00:21:09.980 go because someone
00:21:11.840 offered them a slightly
00:21:12.720 newer stadium or
00:21:13.840 something.
00:21:14.160 They'll abandon a fan
00:21:15.620 base that has been
00:21:16.240 behind them for 50
00:21:17.580 years and a drop of
00:21:18.640 the hat because there's
00:21:20.340 there's greener pastors
00:21:21.240 somewhere else.
00:21:22.520 And the reason people
00:21:23.760 used to care about
00:21:24.860 sports teams was that
00:21:26.620 they represented your
00:21:28.280 locality.
00:21:29.020 Like you cared about
00:21:29.820 the local college team
00:21:30.900 even if you didn't
00:21:31.540 go to the college
00:21:32.380 because it represented
00:21:33.940 kind of the best and
00:21:35.120 the brightest of the
00:21:36.320 people, young men and
00:21:37.420 women in your area. 1.00
00:21:39.340 They had, they were
00:21:40.100 reflective of your
00:21:40.940 culture.
00:21:41.280 They were reflective
00:21:42.260 of your community.
00:21:44.200 That is why you were
00:21:45.220 attached to them.
00:21:45.980 Like, yeah, now today
00:21:47.340 sports teams are better
00:21:48.880 at what they do
00:21:50.140 technically, but they'll,
00:21:51.620 they'll sell you up in
00:21:52.640 a minute.
00:21:53.020 They don't have, you
00:21:53.600 have no connection to
00:21:54.620 them.
00:21:54.860 You feel no loyalty to
00:21:56.440 them.
00:21:56.700 They feel no loyalty to
00:21:57.940 you.
00:21:58.200 They would sell you out
00:21:58.960 in a moment.
00:21:59.600 Is that really how you
00:22:01.140 want your government to
00:22:02.920 act?
00:22:03.440 We saw this over and
00:22:04.280 over again from Elon.
00:22:05.780 We need America to
00:22:06.680 win.
00:22:07.040 We need America to
00:22:07.900 win.
00:22:08.220 We need America to
00:22:08.960 win.
00:22:09.200 Okay.
00:22:09.360 What does that mean?
00:22:11.180 What does it mean for
00:22:11.820 America to win?
00:22:12.760 Who is an American? 0.81
00:22:14.680 If you don't know who
00:22:15.880 an American is, then
00:22:17.160 how can America win?
00:22:18.520 If an American is just 0.99
00:22:19.500 everybody who's eligible
00:22:21.060 for a visa, then what
00:22:23.620 does that mean?
00:22:24.740 It just means everybody.
00:22:26.280 It's just globalism.
00:22:27.380 It's just globalism.
00:22:29.080 It's just open borders
00:22:30.080 with extra steps, open
00:22:31.700 borders with the
00:22:32.420 paperwork attached.
00:22:33.560 That's it.
00:22:34.500 There's no understanding
00:22:36.000 of what a nation is,
00:22:37.700 what it should be, what
00:22:38.700 it means to share goals
00:22:39.960 and values.
00:22:41.100 How are you ever going
00:22:42.660 to actually achieve
00:22:44.100 something?
00:22:44.660 Like, I forget who
00:22:45.880 said it, but they made
00:22:46.580 a great point.
00:22:47.280 Like, what about China?
00:22:49.940 Like, if China gets to
00:22:51.480 Mars before the United
00:22:53.060 States, is that losing?
00:22:54.920 Why?
00:22:55.120 Well, oh, because China 0.98
00:22:56.160 is a specific place and
00:22:57.900 a specific people.
00:22:59.200 And if they do it because
00:23:00.800 their people are achieving
00:23:02.060 it, that says something.
00:23:04.200 Well, how can America be
00:23:05.840 any less?
00:23:06.400 Are we less of a people
00:23:07.660 than China?
00:23:09.440 Is it the entire world
00:23:10.660 versus China or is it the
00:23:11.720 United States achieving
00:23:12.940 things as Americans?
00:23:14.960 We hope you're enjoying
00:23:15.980 your Air Canada flight.
00:23:17.300 Rocky's vacation, here we
00:23:19.000 come.
00:23:20.020 Whoa, is this economy?
00:23:22.120 Free beer, wine, and
00:23:23.600 snacks.
00:23:24.700 Sweet.
00:23:25.680 Fast-free Wi-Fi means I
00:23:27.100 can make dinner
00:23:27.560 reservations before we
00:23:28.920 land.
00:23:29.720 And with live TV, I'm not
00:23:31.460 missing the game.
00:23:32.780 It's kind of like I'm
00:23:34.040 already on vacation.
00:23:35.980 Nice.
00:23:37.100 On behalf of Air Canada,
00:23:38.740 nice travels.

00:23:41.060 Airplane members on

00:23:43.660 See your Canada dot com.
00:23:44.720 To your earlier point, and
00:23:47.220 I don't mean to keep
00:23:47.900 banging this drum, it
00:23:48.840 feels like maybe
00:23:50.260 Machiavelli or somebody
00:23:51.460 wrote about this once
00:23:52.480 upon a time.
00:23:53.200 You can't sustain a
00:23:54.560 civilization on
00:23:57.040 mercenary force.
00:23:57.180 You wrote a book or
00:23:57.640 two on this.
00:23:58.140 I feel like that might
00:23:59.700 have been the main
00:24:00.240 point somewhere, but
00:24:01.280 you know, these people
00:24:02.620 have assured me that
00:24:03.360 they're smarter, and
00:24:04.160 I'm but a mere
00:24:05.080 subtard in middle 1.00
00:24:06.100 America, so I'm sure
00:24:08.260 they would know better
00:24:08.860 than I would.
00:24:10.000 But I don't mean to
00:24:11.300 keep banging this
00:24:12.020 drum, but this still
00:24:13.380 goes to the very
00:24:14.360 foundational misconception
00:24:16.340 of a nation.
00:24:19.360 Machiavelli was
00:24:20.000 writing about this in
00:24:21.280 the Renaissance, and
00:24:22.220 even then he was just
00:24:23.300 recapitulating points that
00:24:24.940 good rulers understood,
00:24:26.280 which is that mercenaries
00:24:27.760 fight for pay, and it
00:24:29.680 is very difficult, if
00:24:30.760 not impossible, to get
00:24:31.760 somebody to spend their
00:24:33.840 life for pay.
00:24:35.260 In fact, that goes
00:24:35.900 against the whole point
00:24:36.680 of payment.
00:24:37.260 You want the payment to
00:24:38.380 live life better at the
00:24:39.500 end of it.
00:24:40.520 Rather, people die for
00:24:41.860 causes that are
00:24:42.760 metaphysical, things that
00:24:44.820 go beyond just the very
00:24:46.160 banal and vulgar things
00:24:49.340 that money can purchase.
00:24:51.560 This all has to do with
00:24:53.380 the nation, with
00:24:54.020 heritage, but these
00:24:55.800 people have no concept
00:24:56.840 of heritage, which
00:24:57.680 beyond it just
00:24:59.740 negatively affecting us
00:25:00.940 by policy now is
00:25:01.900 itself a nihilistic
00:25:04.900 worldview.
00:25:06.080 If you can accuse
00:25:06.780 anyone of nihilism, I
00:25:07.920 think it's kind of
00:25:09.640 been done to death
00:25:11.160 accusing the left of
00:25:12.180 nihilism.
00:25:12.700 I think the center is
00:25:14.120 probably the most
00:25:14.960 vocally nihilistic
00:25:16.440 section of the
00:25:18.560 political spectrum
00:25:19.600 right now.
00:25:20.220 It's all just money,
00:25:21.500 pay, and work all the
00:25:23.200 way to the bottom
00:25:23.860 until everyone just
00:25:24.980 expires.
00:25:27.200 Yeah, I mean, even
00:25:28.120 with what's on screen,
00:25:29.520 to further your point,
00:25:30.940 Ryan, and I think it is
00:25:31.740 the most important drum
00:25:32.620 to beat is that you
00:25:33.560 were just simply
00:25:34.220 looking at, from
00:25:35.480 these pro-H1B
00:25:36.460 arguments, the entire
00:25:38.160 tech pro-immigration
00:25:39.420 side has made it very
00:25:40.560 clear that this
00:25:41.540 mindset that they have
00:25:43.220 is entirely foreign 1.00
00:25:44.420 and alien to what has
00:25:45.780 been historically, and
00:25:47.060 still is for most parts
00:25:48.120 of the country,
00:25:49.060 fundamentally American.
00:25:50.060 American, and that's 0.77
00:25:51.360 not something that we
00:25:52.540 can really necessarily
00:25:53.500 grok with, no pun
00:25:55.020 intended there, but
00:25:56.380 it's just, our worlds
00:25:58.040 are completely
00:25:58.580 different, and so the
00:25:59.720 understanding that, well,
00:26:00.960 we need to do this to
00:26:01.820 bring in China, well, no 1.00
00:26:02.740 one else is doing it.
00:26:03.920 I mean, even Mike
00:26:04.600 Cernovich, of all people
00:26:06.040 who has his issues, had
00:26:08.020 asked the basic
00:26:08.720 question, well, if that
00:26:09.760 were really the case with
00:26:10.700 this system of
00:26:11.360 immigration, why isn't
00:26:12.480 Canada a tech 0.93
00:26:13.380 superpower?
00:26:14.360 Right.
00:26:14.580 And we're witnessing all
00:26:15.960 of that play out, and
00:26:16.780 instead, what are we
00:26:17.500 witnessing, frantic
00:26:18.980 ethnic nepotism, the 0.91
00:26:20.820 mass firing of the
00:26:22.300 people who are already
00:26:23.140 here, both for, like,
00:26:24.140 in Canada, we've already
00:26:24.780 seen that take place,
00:26:25.640 we've already seen this
00:26:26.200 with numerous tech CEOs
00:26:27.260 that as soon as someone
00:26:28.180 gets in there that is
00:26:29.080 not American or one of
00:26:30.280 the founders, blatantly
00:26:31.880 they will fire all the
00:26:32.920 American staff and ship
00:26:34.040 it back to India.
00:26:35.240 These people end up
00:26:36.280 going off on, you
00:26:37.960 know, they've landed
00:26:38.920 on, they were born on
00:26:39.840 third base being able to
00:26:40.960 get here and make their
00:26:41.920 money and make their
00:26:42.560 millions and then feed
00:26:43.360 it back home, and they
00:26:44.460 think that they, you
00:26:45.080 know, hit a triple play.
00:26:46.320 They didn't.
00:26:47.160 And in fact, the
00:26:48.060 system has been designed
00:26:49.420 deliberately for them to
00:26:50.620 take advantage of it and
00:26:52.000 to keep it away from
00:26:52.860 there.
00:26:53.140 And it's not only
00:26:53.700 suppressing wages, but
00:26:55.120 instead, they're saying,
00:26:55.980 well, you should work
00:26:56.600 harder, you should be
00:26:57.440 like us, you should have
00:26:58.380 a tiger mom, you should 0.94
00:26:59.260 have all these things to
00:27:00.100 keep it over there.
00:27:01.220 And it's fundamentally
00:27:02.060 un-American in the sense
00:27:03.480 that, yes, people would
00:27:04.420 work harder, but at this
00:27:05.800 point in time, with
00:27:07.060 comparison to how many
00:27:07.980 labor hours are put in
00:27:09.280 compared to productivity
00:27:10.280 and wages, you know,
00:27:11.660 we're less well off than
00:27:13.480 we were even when I was
00:27:14.720 born 29 years ago.
00:27:16.400 And it should be clear
00:27:17.800 as day as an example to
00:27:19.220 see this come out here
00:27:20.440 as tone deaf as it is,
00:27:22.240 that for a guy who's
00:27:23.240 made his money and has
00:27:24.420 had his family help
00:27:25.420 support his various
00:27:26.400 schemes in the
00:27:27.080 pharmaceutical industry
00:27:28.220 and venture capital
00:27:29.180 supporters, and even had
00:27:30.380 some of his supporters
00:27:31.240 kill themselves after being
00:27:32.460 indicted for fraud, that
00:27:34.120 it should come to no
00:27:35.160 surprise to anyone here
00:27:36.480 that we are fundamentally
00:27:37.360 dealing with an alien and
00:27:38.660 foreign culture that,
00:27:39.560 like Ryan said, wants you
00:27:40.900 to work and try and make
00:27:42.080 as much as you can and
00:27:43.220 then expire without any
00:27:44.660 indignity.
00:27:46.060 Yeah, and I want to read
00:27:47.300 through Vivek's post here
00:27:48.560 because, as both of you
00:27:49.680 had said, Elon's post had
00:27:52.320 problems, but he's walked
00:27:54.480 some of that back and
00:27:55.720 ultimately he has more
00:27:56.780 goodwill built up because
00:27:58.020 of his, you know, massive
00:28:00.200 financial support of Trump
00:28:01.640 and the purchasing of
00:28:02.820 Twitter, though I should
00:28:04.740 say, a number of people
00:28:06.860 who ratioed Elon lost
00:28:09.000 their blue check.
00:28:09.840 Um, we haven't gotten
00:28:11.580 an explanation as to
00:28:12.600 why, uh, CJ Engel was
00:28:14.660 one of them.
00:28:15.120 I ratioed him, but I
00:28:16.120 didn't lose mine.
00:28:16.860 There doesn't seem to be
00:28:17.820 a good rhyme or reason
00:28:18.800 to it.
00:28:19.580 Um, but, but the, he's
00:28:21.200 also announced that he's
00:28:22.220 going to change the
00:28:22.860 Twitter algorithm.
00:28:23.560 So if more, uh, verified
00:28:25.600 accounts block you or
00:28:27.380 mute you, that's going to 0.99
00:28:28.820 lower your reach.
00:28:29.600 So if you're saying
00:28:30.400 things that certain
00:28:31.360 people with bigger
00:28:32.560 accounts don't want to
00:28:33.360 hear, then your reach is
00:28:34.900 going to go down.
00:28:35.560 And if that sounds
00:28:36.200 familiar to you, that's
00:28:37.740 just what the blue check
00:28:38.640 mafia was in old
00:28:40.180 Twitter, right?
00:28:40.920 Like you, you got
00:28:41.840 D boosted.
00:28:42.560 You got, uh, you got
00:28:43.580 shadow banned.
00:28:44.600 If you were kind of
00:28:45.720 under the wrong
00:28:46.420 people's mentions, if
00:28:48.180 they were complaining
00:28:49.300 about you, then all of
00:28:50.380 a sudden your reach went
00:28:51.440 down.
00:28:51.760 So the whole point of
00:28:53.020 this was like, this was
00:28:53.840 supposed to be a free
00:28:54.520 speech site.
00:28:55.080 This is supposed to be a
00:28:55.920 place where we can have
00:28:56.560 this conversation.
00:28:57.220 And at first I was
00:28:58.180 like, oh, great.
00:28:59.040 Elon is willing to have
00:29:00.120 this conversation.
00:29:00.940 Even if it's getting a
00:29:02.060 little heated, at least
00:29:03.520 we can have this
00:29:04.580 conversation.
00:29:05.240 And that's still true
00:29:06.060 to some extent,
00:29:06.980 obviously this would not
00:29:08.220 be existing.
00:29:08.780 If Kamala Harris had
00:29:09.900 got, had one, like we
00:29:11.280 would just be continuing
00:29:12.220 the flood of illegal
00:29:13.300 immigration, no matter 1.00
00:29:14.120 what.
00:29:14.780 Now, the fact that
00:29:15.720 we've shifted the
00:29:16.440 conversation from
00:29:17.360 illegal immigration,
00:29:18.260 which we are definitely
00:29:19.160 all against at this
00:29:20.340 point to how much
00:29:21.620 legal immigration is a 0.69
00:29:22.680 huge shift.
00:29:23.320 That's a huge Overton
00:29:24.140 window shift.
00:29:25.040 We should recognize
00:29:25.940 that the fact that it
00:29:26.980 all took place here and
00:29:28.180 the mainstream media
00:29:28.900 basically lagged behind
00:29:30.480 desperately trying to
00:29:31.360 report on what was
00:29:32.040 happening in the real
00:29:32.820 areas.
00:29:33.500 Also huge, right?
00:29:34.540 That, that, that kind
00:29:35.380 of devastates the
00:29:36.880 mainstream media's
00:29:37.780 relevance and their
00:29:38.640 power.
00:29:39.220 So this is not all
00:29:40.660 a loss.
00:29:41.560 And ultimately, Elon
00:29:43.180 Musk has built up
00:29:44.220 enough credit, I think,
00:29:46.720 to probably survive some
00:29:47.820 of this if he's wise, if
00:29:49.660 he's wise and he
00:29:50.460 learns.
00:29:51.020 However, Vivek here was
00:29:53.680 just gross.
00:29:55.020 He was condescending.
00:29:56.180 This was ugly.
00:29:57.400 And, and it, like, the
00:29:59.440 ethnic resentment is just 0.82
00:30:00.640 oozing out of this post.
00:30:02.160 Like, you can come 100%
00:30:03.500 tell.
00:30:04.240 So let's, let's, let's
00:30:05.440 read a little bit out of
00:30:06.460 it and we'll just kind of
00:30:07.040 a react as we go along.
00:30:08.980 Vivek says, the reason
00:30:10.200 top tech companies often
00:30:11.420 hire foreign born first 0.98
00:30:13.400 generation engineers over
00:30:14.820 native Americans.
00:30:16.040 Why is that in
00:30:17.440 quotations?
00:30:19.720 Do, did people live here
00:30:21.100 before Vivek or not?
00:30:23.140 Is Vivek better than the
00:30:26.320 people who lived here
00:30:27.080 before?
00:30:27.580 Why is that in
00:30:28.160 quotations?
00:30:28.960 Over native Americans 0.99
00:30:30.120 isn't because of an
00:30:31.360 innate American IQ
00:30:32.720 deficit, a lazy and
00:30:34.860 wrong explanation.
00:30:35.800 A key part comes from
00:30:36.900 the C word, culture.
00:30:38.980 Tough questions demand
00:30:39.740 tough answers and is
00:30:40.640 really serious about
00:30:41.500 fixing the problem.
00:30:42.500 We have to confront a 1.00
00:30:43.820 truth.
00:30:44.820 Okay, so we're going to
00:30:46.280 get into all the dumb
00:30:47.500 stuff he says after
00:30:48.220 this, but it, I am
00:30:50.180 furious that he would
00:30:53.120 say something like this
00:30:54.460 knowing specifically
00:30:56.720 that the United States
00:30:58.880 has had a regime that
00:31:00.860 he has cried about
00:31:01.960 that he has decried
00:31:03.320 that he has helped
00:31:04.240 to document
00:31:05.000 that he has said
00:31:06.240 he is against
00:31:07.400 they have had a regime
00:31:09.240 that is specifically
00:31:10.300 for decades
00:31:11.760 suppressed American
00:31:13.400 talent.
00:31:14.100 It has kept people
00:31:15.500 out of our top
00:31:17.720 universities, the, our
00:31:19.400 boardrooms, the
00:31:20.560 leadership of our
00:31:21.280 corporations, even
00:31:22.060 getting hired by those
00:31:22.960 corporations because they
00:31:24.580 had the wrong skin 0.99
00:31:25.380 color or the wrong
00:31:26.320 genitalia, or they
00:31:27.220 didn't pretend to be a
00:31:28.000 homosexual or something 0.58
00:31:28.800 like that.
00:31:29.580 Like, because they did
00:31:30.760 not meet the DEI
00:31:31.860 requirements, they did
00:31:33.240 not get a shot.
00:31:34.300 I personally know so
00:31:36.540 many people who
00:31:37.800 specifically cannot move
00:31:39.420 forward because they
00:31:40.620 just don't have the DEI
00:31:41.780 requirements and
00:31:42.400 everyone around them
00:31:43.620 will tell them that
00:31:44.380 point blank.
00:31:45.000 They will look in the
00:31:45.540 eye and say, may want
00:31:46.720 to figure out, maybe
00:31:47.580 get a funny haircut, add
00:31:48.740 some pronouns, you know,
00:31:50.300 figure out a way you're
00:31:51.080 different because the
00:31:52.020 current environment
00:31:53.220 specifically kept
00:31:55.080 straight white Christian 0.75
00:31:56.940 males the most, but 1.00
00:31:58.860 others as well, out of
00:32:00.560 these opportunities.
00:32:01.820 So to say that it's the
00:32:03.120 culture of America
00:32:04.520 that has kept it from
00:32:06.060 having talent in the top
00:32:07.640 places is absolutely
00:32:09.100 insulting.
00:32:09.820 Americans who have had
00:32:10.720 to hear for years that
00:32:13.100 we have to import
00:32:14.320 illegal immigrants to do 0.98
00:32:15.720 jobs they won't do
00:32:17.140 were then told, sorry, I
00:32:19.700 know there are jobs you
00:32:20.580 want to do, but you're
00:32:21.400 too white or too male to 0.77
00:32:22.780 do them.
00:32:23.260 And now we're
00:32:25.200 hearing, oh yeah, we
00:32:26.000 know, and we campaigned
00:32:28.120 on the fact that there
00:32:29.140 was an entire system
00:32:30.240 built to keep you out of
00:32:32.700 these top jobs, but
00:32:34.100 sorry, now you don't
00:32:34.740 have the skills and we
00:32:35.680 have to replace you with
00:32:36.560 someone else who does
00:32:37.440 the fact that he would
00:32:39.040 bring this up and not
00:32:40.080 even touch on the other
00:32:42.340 factors involved in
00:32:44.260 restricting talent
00:32:46.720 inside the United States
00:32:48.640 is just absolutely insane.
00:32:51.180 It's, it's also just out
00:32:52.480 of date as well.
00:32:53.160 And we'll get, we'll
00:32:54.020 get into the details as
00:32:55.360 we keep reading through
00:32:56.180 this, uh, if you do let
00:32:57.580 me, of course, but of
00:32:58.560 course, um, this is a,
00:33:01.040 this is something very
00:33:01.800 interesting as well, just
00:33:02.860 because if you look at
00:33:05.500 Generation Z and I'll just 0.92
00:33:06.600 say this before we
00:33:07.500 progress, if you look at
00:33:09.720 Generation Z, it's not 0.97
00:33:11.300 that they're off doing
00:33:12.520 things that are non
00:33:14.020 productive.
00:33:14.480 It's that they have a
00:33:15.340 profound sense of apathy
00:33:16.760 for the reasons that you
00:33:18.600 just described.
00:33:19.280 There are quite a lot of
00:33:20.860 white males in Generation
00:33:22.960 Z, and I'm, I'm sure in
00:33:24.380 the coming generation as
00:33:25.480 well, as soon as they
00:33:26.340 start to mature, who just
00:33:28.540 give up, basically.
00:33:30.360 Uh, they, they don't try
00:33:31.500 to move somewhere to get
00:33:33.060 better jobs because they
00:33:34.480 know that they, they
00:33:35.340 won't make it.
00:33:36.440 Um, the high school system
00:33:38.440 basically just extinguished
00:33:40.440 all passion that they had
00:33:41.920 about any subjects.
00:33:43.160 I, I distinctly remember
00:33:44.420 one of my, uh, high school,
00:33:46.060 uh, principals, um, and
00:33:48.200 this would have been five
00:33:49.660 or six years ago now.
00:33:51.360 Uh, I, I distinctly
00:33:52.520 remember one of my high
00:33:53.380 school principals told me
00:33:54.460 that they have to cater to
00:33:56.700 the lowest common
00:33:57.380 denominator in anything,
00:33:58.540 uh, because the high
00:34:00.020 school isn't meant to
00:34:00.840 allow the most talented
00:34:02.200 and brightest to succeed.
00:34:03.740 It's meant to just get
00:34:04.740 everyone out the door of
00:34:05.620 the degree.
00:34:06.880 This is, uh, this is
00:34:08.740 quite the opposite end of
00:34:10.020 a high school, certainly
00:34:11.200 whenever we invented them
00:34:12.800 and instituted them as
00:34:13.760 policy.
00:34:14.240 But this is, uh, this is
00:34:16.260 the whole system.
00:34:16.900 It caters to the lowest
00:34:17.680 common denominator.
00:34:18.880 Your undergraduate, uh,
00:34:20.560 college classes are like
00:34:21.560 this as well.
00:34:22.320 You can just, just sit in
00:34:23.680 on one.
00:34:24.580 You, you will see it
00:34:25.860 immediately.
00:34:26.620 The only reason that
00:34:27.600 anyone is there is because
00:34:28.660 the high schools were
00:34:29.620 debased to such a low
00:34:31.040 degree that now you have
00:34:32.300 to have an undergraduate
00:34:33.180 degree to even show that
00:34:35.440 you know how to do
00:34:36.380 anything because we've
00:34:37.220 outlawed all of the other
00:34:38.320 filters that would show
00:34:39.480 that you know how to do
00:34:40.260 things.
00:34:40.980 So then, now, now since
00:34:43.480 the undergraduate degrees
00:34:44.680 are the filter to do, uh,
00:34:47.560 to show that you can do
00:34:48.380 anything, they too have to
00:34:50.000 be debased because now
00:34:50.960 everyone needs one because
00:34:51.980 it's discriminatory and
00:34:53.260 unfair if you say that not
00:34:54.680 everyone can do things the
00:34:55.740 same way.
00:34:56.580 So your undergraduate classes
00:34:58.240 now have to cater to the
00:34:59.420 lowest common denominator.
00:35:00.700 If the professors don't get
00:35:02.180 good enough scores from
00:35:03.320 their own students, which
00:35:04.300 is a horrendously, uh,
00:35:06.920 outside-in system.
00:35:08.060 If the professors don't get
00:35:10.300 good enough scores from
00:35:11.140 their students, their pay
00:35:12.500 will get docked, they'll 0.79
00:35:13.580 stop, they'll, they'll
00:35:14.680 basically get fired
00:35:15.440 eventually.
00:35:15.960 That's, that's where that
00:35:16.700 leads.
00:35:17.400 So you have to cater to the
00:35:18.500 lowest common denominator,
00:35:19.780 and now at this point you're
00:35:21.800 starting to see that
00:35:22.420 master's degrees aren't
00:35:23.780 really worth much as well.
00:35:25.220 Uh, it's, it's almost a
00:35:26.820 joke in some circles.
00:35:28.260 The master's degree is just
00:35:29.480 the, the cash cow because 0.95
00:35:31.120 the undergraduate degrees
00:35:32.320 aren't worth anything
00:35:33.080 anymore.
00:35:33.520 They're, they're common,
00:35:34.280 they're basic, they're
00:35:35.660 debased.
00:35:37.260 This is not a culture
00:35:39.420 problem.
00:35:40.440 This is a policy problem.
00:35:42.900 I, I, I don't know how
00:35:44.340 better to explain it than
00:35:45.380 that.
00:35:45.680 This is not the, the C
00:35:47.660 word culture as Vivek
00:35:49.220 describes it.
00:35:50.380 Uh, this is policy
00:35:52.100 destroying the passions of
00:35:53.800 young men in, in
00:35:54.760 particular.
00:35:55.900 Uh, in fact, it might be
00:35:57.220 considered culture eating.
00:35:59.140 Uh, this is, uh, Vivek has
00:36:02.220 it almost so perfectly
00:36:03.500 backwards that I'm
00:36:04.260 wondering if this just
00:36:05.180 wasn't deliberate.
00:36:08.020 It wasn't, but yeah, I
00:36:09.600 hear you.
00:36:10.080 I hear you.
00:36:11.080 Anything, uh, Prudentials
00:36:12.260 before we keep reading?
00:36:13.460 Uh, I, I think that
00:36:14.820 really the big thing to
00:36:16.920 take away from that is,
00:36:18.120 is that he refuses to
00:36:19.800 examine his, you know,
00:36:21.400 it's the whole physician
00:36:22.300 heal yourself thing.
00:36:23.320 Uh, Vivek doesn't want
00:36:24.620 things to change.
00:36:25.340 He's looking at it as an
00:36:26.340 outsider.
00:36:27.080 He identifies with this,
00:36:28.980 uh, grind set, you know,
00:36:31.820 America that is not part of 0.89
00:36:34.240 really who we are.
00:36:35.540 I mean, yes, people would
00:36:36.260 hustle and grind and do
00:36:37.360 what they can to do well
00:36:38.460 for themselves.
00:36:39.540 But as I mentioned earlier,
00:36:40.580 like the quality of the
00:36:41.420 American life or even the
00:36:42.520 average worker was so much
00:36:44.880 better prior to this system.
00:36:46.520 And I, I think that what
00:36:47.840 Ryan said perfectly
00:36:48.760 encapsulate this, this is a
00:36:50.520 policy problem that has
00:36:51.640 been going on for decades
00:36:52.940 that has suppressed wages,
00:36:54.780 instituted our own form of
00:36:56.220 indentured servitude, and
00:36:58.000 has only promoted more and
00:36:59.820 more immigration into
00:37:01.460 America by the people who
00:37:02.700 are already here that are
00:37:04.640 just fresh off the boat.
00:37:06.320 And that kind of system
00:37:07.340 here is antithetical to our
00:37:09.100 culture.
00:37:09.540 But instead he has to look
00:37:10.640 at this as many others had
00:37:12.420 pointed out in the replies and
00:37:13.680 quote tweets and analysis
00:37:14.900 that this is a guy who is
00:37:17.120 having an ordeal of
00:37:18.220 civility on, you know, for
00:37:19.960 millions of people to see.
00:37:21.040 And that ordeal of civility
00:37:22.880 tells me that this is the
00:37:24.100 guy that resents not being
00:37:26.320 part of what we would
00:37:27.860 constitute American culture.
00:37:29.020 He he's upset that, you
00:37:30.220 know, that he wasn't the
00:37:31.240 jock, that he wasn't the
00:37:32.120 high school guy.
00:37:33.020 All that this says to me is
00:37:34.660 resentment and hatred for
00:37:36.460 what, you know, you and I
00:37:37.620 would just call Americana.
00:37:39.760 Our American culture
00:37:41.120 venerated mediocrity over
00:37:43.660 excellence for way too long,
00:37:45.700 at least since the nineties
00:37:46.900 and likely longer.
00:37:48.060 That doesn't start in
00:37:49.100 college.
00:37:49.580 It starts young.
00:37:50.360 A culture that celebrates
00:37:51.760 the prom queen over the
00:37:53.560 math Olympiad champ or jock
00:37:55.800 over the valed Victorian
00:37:57.280 will will not produce the
00:37:59.540 best engineers.
00:38:00.800 A culture venerating
00:38:02.240 Corey from Boy Meets
00:38:03.680 World or if you think
00:38:05.940 Corey's the cool guy in
00:38:06.940 Boy Meets World, you're
00:38:07.940 anyway, or Zack and
00:38:10.460 Slater over Screech and
00:38:12.200 Saved by the Bell or
00:38:13.340 Stefan over Urkel in
00:38:16.060 Family Matters will not
00:38:17.120 produce the best engineers.
00:38:18.520 So, uh, this, this really
00:38:22.280 is guy who got stuffed in a
00:38:23.700 locker logic, right?
00:38:24.840 Like the, the, the deep,
00:38:26.140 uh, inadequacy and
00:38:27.960 resentment is just rolling
00:38:29.500 over this guy.
00:38:30.640 A couple things about this
00:38:32.260 from the top.
00:38:33.060 First, um, this entire view
00:38:36.060 of the United States is,
00:38:38.360 um, exactly, uh, backwards
00:38:41.640 from my entire experience.
00:38:43.720 Uh, my entire life has
00:38:46.100 been revenge of the nerds,
00:38:47.680 right?
00:38:47.980 It has been the elevation
00:38:49.400 of, uh, you know, all of
00:38:51.780 these nerdy, uh, different
00:38:53.480 pastimes, nerd culture now
00:38:55.200 dominates all this stuff.
00:38:56.960 And I say, this is somebody
00:38:58.220 who is very much into that
00:38:59.720 nerdy stuff.
00:39:00.420 Like I'm not here saying,
00:39:01.860 well, I was the prom king
00:39:03.180 and therefore that's the
00:39:04.120 most important thing in the
00:39:05.060 world.
00:39:05.300 But the idea that the,
00:39:07.080 like our entire culture has
00:39:08.440 been inverted this way, our
00:39:09.560 popular media since at least
00:39:10.660 the eighties has been
00:39:11.860 dominated by this idea that
00:39:13.480 the jocks and the cheerleaders
00:39:15.000 are the bad people.
00:39:16.140 They're the ones that
00:39:16.880 victimize everybody.
00:39:17.980 They're the ones who are
00:39:18.680 going to be worthless after
00:39:19.720 high school when all the
00:39:20.560 smart kids go and get their
00:39:22.200 degrees and run the world.
00:39:23.660 Like that has been the
00:39:25.060 theme of every single
00:39:26.740 television show my entire
00:39:29.400 life.
00:39:30.440 And yet he's still echoing
00:39:32.120 this idea as if this is what
00:39:33.900 the popular culture puts
00:39:35.320 forward.
00:39:35.720 Like that is just absolutely
00:39:37.160 not the case.
00:39:38.200 The big bang theory was what
00:39:40.000 the top show in the United
00:39:42.040 States, which is its own
00:39:43.600 judgment on our culture, I
00:39:44.800 suppose.
00:39:45.420 But like that, that was its
00:39:46.600 own, you know, phenomenon
00:39:48.340 for over a decade.
00:39:50.180 Like you're telling me that
00:39:52.080 it's the jocks and the cool
00:39:53.420 guys who are venerated in all
00:39:54.700 these situations.
00:39:55.340 Like this is just a jealous
00:39:57.500 loser mentality.
00:39:58.800 Also, the idea that every
00:40:00.100 nerd is a math lead and
00:40:01.900 every jock is an idiot is
00:40:03.880 just stupid.
00:40:04.600 I don't remember the show
00:40:06.100 Family Matters all that
00:40:08.400 well, but if I remember
00:40:09.180 correctly, Steve Urkel's
00:40:11.000 counter ego, Stefan, there
00:40:12.980 was just as smart as
00:40:14.600 Urkel.
00:40:15.100 He just was also cool.
00:40:16.960 Like he just lost all the
00:40:18.120 antisocial aspects of this.
00:40:20.540 Sorry, but like this is not
00:40:21.840 a decision between being
00:40:24.440 well turned out and
00:40:25.760 physically fit and these
00:40:27.120 kind of things and also
00:40:28.460 being intelligent.
00:40:29.720 Yes, often people
00:40:30.440 specialize one or the
00:40:31.500 other.
00:40:31.680 We should venerate both.
00:40:33.140 But the idea that the
00:40:34.320 American culture should only 1.00
00:40:36.340 be worried about the guy who
00:40:38.420 is, you know, devoting his
00:40:40.260 entire life to engineering
00:40:41.600 is foolish.
00:40:42.960 Like North or South Korea 0.81
00:40:45.800 has a booming sector when it
00:40:49.940 comes to tech and finance.
00:40:51.100 Right.
00:40:51.700 Also, they have below the
00:40:54.160 replacement birth rates that
00:40:55.240 are so bad that they're
00:40:56.660 they're even below North
00:40:57.980 Korea's birth rates.
00:40:59.760 like there's a lot to be said
00:41:01.560 about birth rates.
00:41:02.380 But at this point, South
00:41:03.880 Korea's birth rates are so 1.00
00:41:05.400 dire that they might have a
00:41:07.780 problem existing if they
00:41:09.200 continue on this level.
00:41:10.220 But his idea is, well, we
00:41:11.840 should emulate that.
00:41:12.640 We should.
00:41:13.340 Every kid should be just like
00:41:14.740 in South Korea where they
00:41:15.940 grind 14 hours a day, 16
00:41:18.340 hours, whatever, you know,
00:41:20.020 nothing extracurricular that's
00:41:22.080 not tied to your college
00:41:24.020 entry or your job.
00:41:25.200 Those are the only things that
00:41:26.560 matter.
00:41:26.840 We're like, sorry, no, that
00:41:28.420 is actually not the way that
00:41:29.980 people in the United States
00:41:31.180 have to live to succeed.
00:41:32.980 It never was before.
00:41:34.320 We had the Protestant work 0.83
00:41:35.860 ethic.
00:41:36.360 We worked hard, but we
00:41:37.980 didn't have to turn everyone
00:41:39.260 into a, you know, into a
00:41:41.800 champion violinist or math
00:41:43.740 nerd or spelling bee
00:41:45.080 champion.
00:41:45.420 Like those weren't the only
00:41:46.440 routes to victory.
00:41:48.100 Right.
00:41:48.660 And if you look at the
00:41:50.620 aristocrats of Christendom in
00:41:52.080 particular, they were
00:41:52.860 oftentimes both.
00:41:53.880 You were not a you were not 0.99
00:41:55.760 truly aristocratic if you
00:41:57.060 were not fit and apt at some
00:41:59.180 sort of a physical
00:42:00.800 application.
00:42:03.040 If fencing was very popular,
00:42:04.400 say, in Germany and in the
00:42:06.380 English speaking world, it was 1.00
00:42:08.180 oftentimes various forms of
00:42:09.460 hunting, which was a quite
00:42:11.740 physically intensive,
00:42:12.720 especially over a hundred
00:42:14.000 years ago.
00:42:15.500 And you also had to be
00:42:16.880 intelligent and learned.
00:42:18.320 This is a this dichotomy here
00:42:20.600 that Vivek is spewing is
00:42:23.000 something that seems like a
00:42:25.100 Hollywood invention for the
00:42:26.680 most part.
00:42:27.220 It definitely hasn't persisted
00:42:28.480 in the high schools to this
00:42:29.520 day.
00:42:30.140 And everyone was in his
00:42:31.440 reply saying how they knew
00:42:32.820 they knew about like these
00:42:34.400 nerdy types that had zero
00:42:36.020 social skills and they didn't
00:42:36.960 go very far.
00:42:37.720 Whereas the the prom queen
00:42:40.000 of the prom king went very
00:42:41.980 far, their engineers or
00:42:42.980 whatever.
00:42:43.640 The reason that everyone has
00:42:45.260 this experience is because
00:42:46.360 that's how that's how these
00:42:47.520 things work.
00:42:48.460 It turns out your physical
00:42:49.820 aptitude and your mental
00:42:51.200 ability are both linked.
00:42:53.120 And it's been we've
00:42:54.260 recognized this since the
00:42:55.340 Greeks and in antiquity.
00:42:57.460 But more moreover, just
00:42:59.660 going back to the fact that
00:43:00.700 this is this seems like a
00:43:01.880 Hollywood trope, especially
00:43:03.860 to Gen Z, who is being 0.99
00:43:05.400 maligned here, quite in
00:43:07.320 particular millennials as
00:43:09.360 well.
00:43:09.580 But Gen Z are the ones that 1.00
00:43:10.640 are going through college
00:43:11.360 right now and apparently
00:43:12.160 aren't up to it.
00:43:14.760 I've this was the first thing
00:43:16.540 that caused me to make my
00:43:18.280 YouTube channel even was
00:43:20.080 that these this social
00:43:22.000 stratification in the high
00:43:23.200 school does not exist
00:43:24.240 anymore.
00:43:24.920 There are not cliques of
00:43:26.060 jocks and cheerleaders
00:43:27.140 against nerds and geeks or
00:43:28.400 what what not else.
00:43:30.340 It really doesn't exist.
00:43:32.200 You might be able to find
00:43:33.100 one or two high schools in
00:43:34.280 the U.S. where that's still
00:43:35.180 the case, but everything
00:43:36.120 else is atomized, which
00:43:38.840 isn't the worst thing.
00:43:40.920 But the sort of Gen Xer
00:43:42.840 resentment that Vivek is
00:43:45.100 talking about right here,
00:43:46.540 this the jocks are out to
00:43:48.260 get you.
00:43:48.600 They've always been trying
00:43:49.460 to get you.
00:43:50.000 They're the reason that the
00:43:51.140 culture is going downhill.
00:43:52.700 You have to get them.
00:43:54.160 This this doesn't reflect
00:43:55.380 reality.
00:43:56.420 And I say Gen Xer because 0.86
00:43:58.220 everyone on my timeline that
00:44:00.340 took Vivek's side here was
00:44:02.120 specifically because Vivek
00:44:04.500 mentioned that it's jocks
00:44:06.260 versus nerds.
00:44:08.040 Every Gen Xer went off on 0.99
00:44:09.880 that night.
00:44:10.500 I feel like there's something
00:44:11.800 there.
00:44:12.800 It's a it's very equivalent to
00:44:15.880 ethnic resentment, sort of
00:44:17.760 this like high school class
00:44:19.560 resentment that just hasn't
00:44:21.080 gone away after all these
00:44:22.560 decades.
00:44:23.560 Well, we'll really see that
00:44:24.260 in the next the next part
00:44:25.700 there.
00:44:25.960 But anything before we move
00:44:27.000 on there, Prude?
00:44:28.000 You know, we've joked a lot
00:44:30.260 or in you and I about what
00:44:31.760 returning to the 90s looks
00:44:33.200 like.
00:44:33.500 This is one of those things
00:44:34.580 about returning to the 90s.
00:44:35.920 We shouldn't go back to
00:44:37.000 because that's exactly what
00:44:38.200 this is.
00:44:38.700 I mean, referencing all these
00:44:39.960 shows that sort of
00:44:40.920 millennials had grown up with
00:44:42.580 and those that were a
00:44:44.040 little older than them.
00:44:45.060 I mean, like hit shows
00:44:45.960 from the 80s and 90s,
00:44:47.160 like this is what we want
00:44:47.940 to go back to is this kind
00:44:49.160 of mentality when things
00:44:50.960 are far more, you know,
00:44:52.960 nuanced and far more
00:44:54.300 complicated than just this.
00:44:56.060 But no, as Ryan pointed
00:44:57.360 out, it's not just
00:44:58.340 resentment, but it also
00:44:59.420 illustrates just a severely
00:45:00.920 limited TV brain.
00:45:03.680 Everything is like a 90s
00:45:05.280 sitcom that we grew up
00:45:06.700 with.
00:45:06.980 And this is the way that
00:45:07.680 we're going to look at the
00:45:08.420 world.
00:45:09.000 And if that's your only
00:45:09.780 hermeneutical tool and
00:45:11.200 lens to understand American
00:45:12.880 culture, one, it's sort
00:45:14.800 of an indictment on us,
00:45:15.700 like you mentioned, with
00:45:16.420 respects to the Big Bang
00:45:18.340 Theory, but also more
00:45:19.360 importantly, if that's your
00:45:20.620 only frame of reference,
00:45:21.800 it really illustrates just
00:45:23.460 how alien you are to what
00:45:25.440 is, you know, American
00:45:26.840 culture and American
00:45:28.360 identity with that respect.
00:45:30.260 Because, I mean, even when
00:45:31.340 I was in high school and I
00:45:32.500 graduated high school a
00:45:33.680 little over 10 years ago
00:45:34.780 now, I mean, the most,
00:45:36.580 you know, well-liked,
00:45:37.900 charming person was also
00:45:39.760 the star quarterback, but
00:45:41.040 also had more or less a
00:45:42.260 perfect score on his
00:45:43.060 ACT and ended up going
00:45:43.980 to West Point.
00:45:45.040 Like, there really is
00:45:46.220 just this huge
00:45:47.000 misunderstanding, this
00:45:48.200 huge TV brain that is
00:45:50.200 infected his understanding
00:45:51.280 of American culture.
00:45:52.320 And just as we saw with
00:45:53.200 Vivek and the sports
00:45:54.040 team analysis, if your
00:45:55.460 idea of a nation is going
00:45:57.120 to be a sports team or a
00:45:58.800 TV show, you are going
00:46:00.460 to get taken advantage of
00:46:02.560 so quickly by people who
00:46:03.940 actually know what game
00:46:05.180 and what time it is.
00:46:06.780 Yeah, that's exactly
00:46:07.620 right.
00:46:08.320 All right.
00:46:08.580 Speaking of here's here's
00:46:09.820 his next part.
00:46:10.460 This was probably the
00:46:11.080 most damning of them
00:46:11.840 all.
00:46:12.820 Fact.
00:46:13.580 I know multiple sets of
00:46:15.160 immigrant parents in the
00:46:16.120 90s who actively limited
00:46:17.400 how much their kids could
00:46:18.780 watch those shows precisely
00:46:20.420 because they promoted
00:46:21.440 mediocrity and their kids 1.00
00:46:24.480 went on to become wildly
00:46:25.540 successful STEM graduates.
00:46:27.100 Now, to be clear, I'm not
00:46:28.480 about to say, oh, your
00:46:29.400 kids should watch more TV.
00:46:30.640 That's not what this is
00:46:31.640 about.
00:46:31.980 Yeah, have them watch less
00:46:33.300 TV.
00:46:33.720 Great.
00:46:34.280 The point here is he says
00:46:35.460 specifically immigrant
00:46:37.160 parents did this.
00:46:39.220 And that's why they
00:46:40.160 outcompete you today.
00:46:42.240 Pete Quinone has made a
00:46:43.100 great point about this
00:46:44.280 when he was talking about
00:46:45.520 this post on his stream.
00:46:46.940 That is just straight up
00:46:48.280 saying we immigrants were
00:46:50.260 better than you.
00:46:51.100 We raised our children
00:46:52.040 better than you because
00:46:52.840 our culture is better than
00:46:54.340 yours.
00:46:54.860 And so now we deserve
00:46:56.740 what you have.
00:46:58.340 That's all that post is
00:47:00.060 saying right there.
00:47:00.720 That's all that phrase
00:47:01.800 says.
00:47:02.500 We immigrants are better
00:47:04.600 than Americans.
00:47:05.820 Our culture is better.
00:47:06.980 That's why we were wiser.
00:47:08.160 We didn't let our kids
00:47:09.200 watch this.
00:47:10.060 Like, yeah, like every
00:47:11.240 successful American kid
00:47:12.460 was doing this and their
00:47:13.520 kids went on.
00:47:14.480 And so that's why our kids
00:47:15.640 went on to be STEM
00:47:16.380 graduates.
00:47:16.940 No, your kids went on to
00:47:17.880 be STEM graduates because
00:47:19.320 literally the law made it
00:47:21.540 illegal for your
00:47:23.460 competitors to succeed.
00:47:26.040 Sorry, Vivek.
00:47:26.920 I'm sure you're really
00:47:28.000 smart and I'm sure your
00:47:29.400 kids are smart and I'm
00:47:31.100 sure that they are
00:47:32.080 capable without winning
00:47:33.500 at some level with the
00:47:35.340 thumb on the scales.
00:47:36.740 But guess what?
00:47:37.380 The thumb was on the
00:47:39.060 scales.
00:47:40.180 The thumb was there the
00:47:41.420 whole time.
00:47:42.980 And if you are going to
00:47:43.800 sit there after being the
00:47:45.160 beneficiary of a system
00:47:46.440 which you specifically have
00:47:48.220 spoken out against and are
00:47:49.460 perfectly aware of, which
00:47:51.660 suppressed the ability of
00:47:53.940 the Native Americans that
00:47:55.660 you put in quotes to
00:47:57.980 succeed, and then you are
00:48:00.160 going to brag about your
00:48:02.720 ability to succeed in that
00:48:05.000 environment, your superior
00:48:06.240 ability.
00:48:08.140 Sorry, that's too much.
00:48:09.880 That is ridiculous.
00:48:12.720 That is way too much.
00:48:14.540 Okay?
00:48:15.620 Yes.
00:48:16.680 I am sure that the top
00:48:18.320 0.1% of immigrant
00:48:20.980 children are really bright
00:48:22.960 and earning positions into
00:48:24.880 those scenarios.
00:48:25.560 But that's the other thing
00:48:27.420 that Vivek is doing.
00:48:28.440 He's not comparing one
00:48:30.780 top 1% or top 0.5% of
00:48:34.080 immigrant children to
00:48:35.780 American children.
00:48:37.000 He's comparing the middle
00:48:39.080 of the middle or even the
00:48:40.300 bottom middle class of
00:48:41.500 America to the top 0.5%
00:48:45.580 of immigrants.
00:48:46.460 These are not comparative
00:48:47.960 cultures.
00:48:48.480 Do you think that the
00:48:49.340 average white kid who's
00:48:51.300 making it in to these
00:48:52.960 different Ivy League schools
00:48:54.660 had the exact same
00:48:56.140 upbringing you're talking
00:48:57.120 about?
00:48:57.480 Do you think that all
00:48:59.280 they spent all of their
00:49:00.080 time watching Boy Meets
00:49:01.280 World?
00:49:01.660 Probably not.
00:49:03.120 But that's the issue,
00:49:04.200 right?
00:49:04.380 He's comparing, he's
00:49:05.180 looking at the, like,
00:49:06.560 sorry, Bollywood isn't
00:49:07.980 exactly some great fount
00:49:10.180 of culture, right?
00:49:11.940 Like, it's not bringing
00:49:13.640 out the next Shakespeare.
00:49:16.120 Okay?
00:49:16.920 That's not what is
00:49:18.160 happening.
00:49:19.280 What's happening is you
00:49:21.240 have an advantage.
00:49:22.880 You're skimming the cream
00:49:24.800 off a certain percentage.
00:49:26.080 You're bringing it in and
00:49:27.400 then you're comparing it
00:49:28.420 to the entirety of the
00:49:31.040 United States instead of
00:49:32.100 looking into a
00:49:32.620 comparable sample.
00:49:33.940 And also, you're
00:49:34.820 bringing in a bunch of
00:49:35.500 expectation and cultural
00:49:37.120 baggage and, you know,
00:49:38.740 your own high school
00:49:40.380 experience into here.
00:49:42.240 More movies like
00:49:43.400 Whiplash, fewer reruns of
00:49:45.000 Friends, more math
00:49:45.980 tutoring, fewer sleepovers,
00:49:47.800 more weekend science
00:49:48.600 competitions, fewer
00:49:49.580 Saturday morning cartoons,
00:49:51.120 more books, less TV,
00:49:52.740 more creating, less
00:49:54.540 chilling, more
00:49:55.360 extracurriculars, less
00:49:56.820 hanging out the mall.
00:49:58.060 Look, I can agree that
00:49:59.820 American education is
00:50:02.120 garbage.
00:50:02.820 A lot of it is garbage
00:50:03.740 because it specifically
00:50:04.580 holds back the successful.
00:50:06.140 It does it on purpose.
00:50:07.120 But also, the time of even
00:50:09.040 the most successful
00:50:09.840 children is wasted because
00:50:11.580 of the way the leftist
00:50:13.040 junk that is taught in all
00:50:14.700 of these, the way, like,
00:50:15.820 you guys were talking
00:50:16.520 about, Ryan, where it is
00:50:18.020 specifically created to
00:50:20.020 hold back and cater to the
00:50:21.380 lowest denominator.
00:50:22.260 I'm for changing all of
00:50:24.240 those things.
00:50:24.780 But sorry, that doesn't
00:50:26.120 mean that actually
00:50:27.140 everything should be a
00:50:28.160 math competition and a
00:50:29.240 science competition.
00:50:30.080 It means you should have
00:50:31.260 math tutoring instead of
00:50:32.200 sleepovers.
00:50:32.980 Again, social health, the
00:50:35.520 health of the average
00:50:36.460 person is not just how
00:50:38.160 many facts they can
00:50:39.420 recite.
00:50:40.080 One of the major issues
00:50:42.000 that our current young
00:50:43.180 population is dealing
00:50:44.340 with is an inability to
00:50:45.500 connect, an inability to
00:50:46.900 make friends, an inability
00:50:48.160 to form romantic
00:50:49.200 relationships and therefore
00:50:50.720 marriages, an inability to
00:50:52.280 be involved in religious
00:50:53.160 communities.
00:50:54.260 These are the biggest
00:50:55.580 issues that they're
00:50:56.440 facing.
00:50:57.020 Would it be great if they
00:50:57.960 got real educations?
00:50:59.060 Yes.
00:50:59.520 Would that make America 0.77
00:51:00.500 more competitive?
00:51:01.520 Yes.
00:51:02.060 Is it the fault of our
00:51:03.960 culture, TM?
00:51:05.400 No.
00:51:05.940 No, it is not.
00:51:07.040 Sorry.
00:51:07.460 That is not the case.
00:51:08.840 And does that mean that
00:51:09.560 every kid now has to turn
00:51:11.160 into some kind of tiger
00:51:12.440 mom, you know, violin
00:51:13.820 champion, to spend every
00:51:15.480 waking moment on the
00:51:16.420 spelling bee, never lift a
00:51:17.740 weight, never go outside,
00:51:18.940 never, you know, never
00:51:20.340 talk to a girl.
00:51:21.080 No, sorry.
00:51:21.880 That is not actually how
00:51:23.460 you should then alter our
00:51:25.360 culture.
00:51:26.260 That is not your prerogative.
00:51:28.280 You don't get to make those
00:51:29.340 judgments.
00:51:30.240 That is not how this works.
00:51:32.800 And were they entitled
00:51:33.920 ones?
00:51:34.620 Right, right.
00:51:37.600 Sorry, that was a long
00:51:38.540 rant if anyone wants to
00:51:39.500 jump in.
00:51:41.580 When I found out my friend
00:51:43.060 got a great deal on a
00:51:44.200 designer dress from
00:51:44.980 Winners, I started
00:51:46.340 wondering, is every
00:51:48.020 fabulous item I see from
00:51:49.460 Winners?
00:51:50.380 Like that woman over 1.00
00:51:51.360 there with the Italian
00:51:52.260 leather handbag.
00:51:53.340 Is that from Winners?
00:51:54.520 Ooh, or that beautiful
00:51:55.900 silk skirt.
00:51:57.060 Did she pay full price?
00:51:58.280 Or those suede sneakers?
00:51:59.860 Or that luggage?
00:52:00.960 Or that trench?
00:52:02.080 Those jeans?
00:52:02.780 That jacket?
00:52:03.520 Those heels? 1.00
00:52:04.380 Is anyone paying full
00:52:05.800 price for anything?
00:52:07.360 Stop wondering.
00:52:08.620 Start winning.
00:52:09.540 Winners.
00:52:10.120 Find fabulous for less.
00:52:12.240 I mean, that's all I can
00:52:14.420 say is that we're being
00:52:16.480 called the entitled ones,
00:52:17.380 especially Generation Z.
00:52:18.860 This is, once again, this
00:52:19.760 is the generation that is 0.95
00:52:21.360 being focused on the
00:52:22.380 people that supposedly
00:52:23.220 can't handle the 80-hour
00:52:25.340 work weeks while being a
00:52:27.260 STEM grad or whatever
00:52:28.180 else.
00:52:29.960 But this group here that
00:52:32.920 wants to just import a
00:52:33.860 completely new population
00:52:34.880 because their culture is
00:52:35.980 better.
00:52:37.060 Somehow we're the entitled
00:52:38.340 ones because we, quite
00:52:40.000 frankly, most of Generation
00:52:41.820 Z is just asking for the
00:52:43.880 Protestant work ethic where
00:52:45.120 you, where you try to make
00:52:46.640 the best of something that
00:52:48.640 whatever it is that you're
00:52:49.560 trying to build while still
00:52:51.700 being able to enjoy things
00:52:52.940 because ultimately in the
00:52:53.880 Protestant work ethic, if you
00:52:55.080 aren't enjoying it, if you
00:52:56.280 aren't fulfilled by it, it's
00:52:57.880 not work that you're supposed to
00:52:59.220 be doing for the glory of God.
00:53:01.060 This is what most of the
00:53:02.600 American population descends 0.63
00:53:05.360 from is this work ethic.
00:53:07.320 Instead, what we've switched it
00:53:08.500 out for and what Vivek is
00:53:10.400 advocating is the sort of
00:53:12.560 nihilistic work until you die
00:53:14.700 ethic, the tiger mom ethic.
00:53:17.480 You mentioned the birth rates
00:53:18.820 between South Korea and
00:53:19.800 North Korea, and this is a 0.90
00:53:21.300 very interesting experiment
00:53:22.400 because on the one hand, you
00:53:24.380 have the whole let's divide the
00:53:25.660 country into half between
00:53:26.740 economic systems and which
00:53:27.940 does better.
00:53:28.880 I think the far more
00:53:29.980 interesting analysis here is
00:53:31.360 let's divide the countries into
00:53:32.540 half and have one where you
00:53:33.560 have this metaphysical
00:53:35.220 overbearing spirit, and then
00:53:37.920 another one where you have just
00:53:39.100 nihilism and work yourself to
00:53:40.580 death culture, and we'll see
00:53:42.420 which one survives after four or
00:53:44.560 five generations, and
00:53:45.540 currently it's the totalitarian
00:53:47.700 dictatorship, not the one with
00:53:49.440 tiger moms and women in the
00:53:51.140 workforce who are being pushed
00:53:53.380 to working themselves to death.
00:53:55.080 One of these two things is
00:53:56.360 apparently suicidal for a
00:53:57.800 civilization, and it's not the
00:53:59.580 juche totalitarian on the
00:54:01.500 northern border.
00:54:03.020 This is a, I feel like the
00:54:04.680 Americans can learn something
00:54:05.800 here.
00:54:06.100 We are not built, in fact, not
00:54:09.260 even just the Americans.
00:54:10.120 It seems that humanity is not
00:54:11.500 built to just work itself to
00:54:12.880 death in 80-hour work weeks
00:54:14.280 while only pursuing STEM
00:54:16.080 topics.
00:54:17.000 It seems like that will destroy
00:54:18.460 your civilization far faster than
00:54:20.320 anything else has.
00:54:21.660 Maybe an invading army could get
00:54:23.620 it done faster if it was
00:54:25.340 particularly vicious.
00:54:27.740 I think this is also, I
00:54:30.880 distinctly remember my high
00:54:32.380 school teachers, the older
00:54:33.320 ones, were always talking about
00:54:35.240 how there's an argument between
00:54:36.480 STEM and the humanities, and
00:54:37.780 every single time STEM wins out.
00:54:39.580 The humanities get further
00:54:40.700 shunted.
00:54:41.440 We focus more on science,
00:54:42.640 technology, engineering, and
00:54:43.700 mathematics, and that's the
00:54:44.680 end of it.
00:54:45.460 And this reflected my high
00:54:46.960 school, certainly, is that
00:54:48.300 mathematics in particular was
00:54:50.440 always the great field to
00:54:53.060 study.
00:54:53.480 That was the smart person's
00:54:55.160 field.
00:54:55.500 It got the most attention.
00:54:57.000 It was sort of like the
00:54:58.200 signifier of intelligence.
00:55:00.320 And this is mathematics without
00:55:01.600 the philosophy as well, so this
00:55:02.940 is purely utilitarian
00:55:04.140 mathematics.
00:55:04.700 Meanwhile, the humanities were
00:55:07.540 just seen as something you had
00:55:08.680 to complete so that you could
00:55:09.760 graduate.
00:55:11.040 I feel like this maybe was the
00:55:13.600 wrong path to go down, once
00:55:15.160 again, because we've seen where
00:55:16.940 countries focus only on STEM at
00:55:19.140 the cost of the humanities.
00:55:21.700 We see what it produces.
00:55:23.120 We see what the culture is like.
00:55:24.280 We see what they can
00:55:24.920 accomplish.
00:55:25.960 We accomplished more as a
00:55:27.560 civilization when we
00:55:28.560 prioritized the humanities over
00:55:30.180 STEM to a great degree.
00:55:31.460 That's when we were landing
00:55:32.680 people on the moon.
00:55:33.960 That's whenever we were
00:55:34.820 engineering atomic technologies
00:55:37.460 and whatnot else.
00:55:38.720 That's when our scientists were
00:55:40.520 actually bearable people and we
00:55:41.880 weren't producing these social
00:55:44.220 outcasts, which currently now
00:55:46.040 inhabit the STEM sectors of our
00:55:48.580 country.
00:55:49.800 Whenever we were prioritizing the
00:55:51.680 humanities, I feel like maybe the
00:55:53.540 human nature of all this is what
00:55:55.180 actually causes people to succeed
00:55:56.740 and not just the amount of rote
00:55:58.080 memorization of equations or
00:56:00.740 functions or whatever else.
00:56:02.160 I feel like there's something
00:56:03.420 here in all of that.
00:56:06.300 Even just beside the
00:56:07.600 metaphysical point on a
00:56:08.860 materialist lens, I kind of find
00:56:10.200 it funny that Musk has spent so
00:56:12.880 much of his time focusing on
00:56:15.620 natalism and the population
00:56:17.480 decline question, whilst the
00:56:19.480 entire system is brought upon and
00:56:21.440 brought and kept up by a system
00:56:23.540 where they're asking for people to
00:56:24.860 have no life.
00:56:26.260 One of the guys whose account I
00:56:28.280 think was either deactivated or had
00:56:29.860 been, you know, hidden or deleted
00:56:31.140 by Musk and all these replies and
00:56:33.160 whatnot, I'm pretty sure it was a
00:56:34.660 deactivation.
00:56:35.420 He had said, you know, my son has
00:56:36.700 done all these things and he can't
00:56:38.680 seem to even get his foot in the
00:56:39.760 door despite taking every class,
00:56:41.140 going to every university, going to
00:56:42.280 an Ivy League.
00:56:43.440 And someone had said, you know, well,
00:56:44.520 if he's willing to work, you know,
00:56:45.580 80 to 100 hours a week, he can apply
00:56:47.140 here at this like AI startup firm.
00:56:49.080 And it's just like, okay, but where
00:56:50.900 does one have life in that question?
00:56:52.680 Where does one have the time to be a
00:56:54.220 father and to be present in their
00:56:56.220 children's lives, let alone to have
00:56:58.540 the time to find someone to marry
00:57:00.140 and to, you know, be well enough in
00:57:02.880 their position and their station to
00:57:04.680 actually start families and to have
00:57:06.560 marriages?
00:57:07.500 No, it goes back to the fundamental
00:57:09.320 point that that sort of thing requires
00:57:11.400 either, you know, immigrant indentured
00:57:14.040 servitude, slavery, the same thing 0.81
00:57:16.220 that's been talked about from the side
00:57:17.540 of things for years, or we want our
00:57:19.420 system to be maintained, but we'll run
00:57:20.920 to the government if we feel
00:57:21.880 threatened.
00:57:22.840 And at the end of it all, what you're
00:57:24.500 witnessing here is a culture and a
00:57:26.600 system that is saying we will do
00:57:27.880 anything that we can to keep it up
00:57:29.260 ourselves because we know that it is
00:57:31.420 easier to control and manage and make
00:57:33.380 more money when we have an increase of
00:57:35.740 diversity or it's completely ethnically
00:57:38.060 homogenous in some of these tech
00:57:39.440 sectors because that's how we know that
00:57:41.660 it all goes to myself and my friends.
00:57:44.440 We saw this all the time when it comes
00:57:46.720 to every study that, you know, even
00:57:48.680 Eric Weinstein pointed out and others too
00:57:50.200 that when you increase the diversity of
00:57:51.780 an area, civic participation and civic
00:57:54.200 trust goes down.
00:57:55.360 This is why every major metropolitan
00:57:57.540 election for mayor, whether it's New
00:57:59.080 York City or Dallas, Texas, becomes an
00:58:01.560 ethnic census for turnout.
00:58:03.540 And it's the same thing here.
00:58:04.620 It's why Whole Foods, owned by Amazon,
00:58:06.980 uses diversity tracking to ensure that
00:58:09.400 their places stay just diverse enough so
00:58:11.560 union formation does not happen or any
00:58:14.340 organized labor takes place.
00:58:16.120 And so, again, the system is up there for
00:58:18.560 some form of control, some form of
00:58:20.320 authoritarianism that we would rather do
00:58:22.320 anything to keep the system propped up
00:58:24.360 than anything else.
00:58:25.560 Orrin and I talked about this a couple
00:58:26.980 of weeks ago when it came to the issue
00:58:28.820 of euthanasia in Britain, that they are
00:58:32.000 so determined to keep the NHS going, to
00:58:34.520 keep the immigration system going, that 0.99
00:58:36.900 rather than to try and promote a
00:58:39.520 healthier vision for Britain, to promote
00:58:41.740 a healthier vision for native Britons, that
00:58:44.600 the answer to the question is, is, well, we
00:58:46.320 need to keep our form of market, you know,
00:58:49.620 our sort of mixed markets going, that we
00:58:53.760 would rather have the opportunity for you
00:58:55.880 to willingly kill yourself than to offer
00:58:59.080 any alternative vision here.
00:59:00.880 And I think that that's a big part of what
00:59:02.240 we're seeing out of Vivek is that we would
00:59:04.280 rather keep our system, our Gibbs, our
00:59:06.340 entitlements going and for you to just eat
00:59:09.060 the dust off our boots.
00:59:11.700 Yep, absolutely.
00:59:13.260 All right, let's finish this up real quick.
00:59:15.440 Most normal American parents look skeptical
00:59:18.220 at those kinds of parents.
00:59:19.800 More normal American kids view those kinds
00:59:21.960 of kids with scorn.
00:59:22.940 If you grow up aspiring to normalcy,
00:59:24.680 normalcy is what you will achieve.
00:59:27.220 Yeah, again, I think it was Egypius,
00:59:29.980 who's a great poster, he basically said
00:59:32.220 to Vivek, he's just like, F you, when I was
00:59:35.140 a professor in America, all I saw were
00:59:37.800 hungry kids, young males who could not get
00:59:41.140 a break because they were being pushed
00:59:42.940 to the side because of basically an
00:59:45.440 ethnic cartel policy set up to make them 1.00
00:59:48.460 make it unable for them to advance.
00:59:50.980 So, yeah, like, sorry, it's not a bunch
00:59:52.620 of people looking sideways at someone
00:59:54.540 who is desiring excellence.
00:59:56.040 Does that exist to some extent in
00:59:58.140 basically every culture?
00:59:59.540 Yes.
01:00:00.300 But ultimately, like, is that specific
01:00:02.460 to America and some American problem
01:00:04.880 that has to be overcome by importing
01:00:07.160 a large amount of, you know, foreign
01:00:09.280 workers who have so much better culture
01:00:11.580 and will just produce better kids?
01:00:13.340 Like, no, no, sorry, that that's not the solution.
01:00:16.520 Now, close your eyes and visualize your families
01:00:18.200 you knew in the 90s who raised their kids
01:00:19.760 according to one model versus the other.
01:00:21.360 And let's be brutally honest.
01:00:23.460 Normalcy doesn't cut it.
01:00:24.720 It's a hyper competitive global market
01:00:26.360 for technical talent.
01:00:27.640 And if we pretend like it does,
01:00:29.360 we'll have our asses handed to us by China. 1.00
01:00:32.100 All right, so, um, is China known for its innovation?
01:00:38.260 Is China known for its ability to create new products?
01:00:43.080 Or is it known for just stealing
01:00:45.160 everybody else's intellectual property?
01:00:47.840 Like, yeah, they have a lot of people
01:00:49.780 who are very dedicated and they work really hard.
01:00:51.940 And you know what they're able to do
01:00:53.460 by being super dedicated and really hard?
01:00:55.740 At their best, they're able to copy
01:00:57.900 the things that we create.
01:00:59.280 So actually, maybe it's not just working
01:01:03.900 80 hours a week that produces greatness.
01:01:07.080 If China is stealing the vast majority 0.97
01:01:09.340 of its innovations because it does not have
01:01:11.640 the capacity to think and create in the same way,
01:01:15.800 perhaps because it's grinds all of their children
01:01:18.200 into a fine paste for efficiency points,
01:01:21.700 then maybe that's not the place to go.
01:01:24.600 Maybe it doesn't have to be a global talent market
01:01:27.560 if you just invest in the people here.
01:01:30.000 As you guys were pointing out,
01:01:31.480 when people said,
01:01:32.220 hey, Elon, why don't you invest
01:01:34.060 in the people of the United States?
01:01:35.200 His response was, oh, well, if you need a school,
01:01:37.980 then you've already lost.
01:01:39.960 No, that's dumb.
01:01:41.180 Like, sorry, some of the great industrialists
01:01:43.720 in American history
01:01:44.940 specifically created portions
01:01:47.300 of our educational institutions
01:01:48.680 to train their own workforce.
01:01:50.300 Now, we can have problems with that
01:01:52.140 and it's long-term ramifications,
01:01:53.460 but ultimately, the idea that you can't just invest
01:01:57.040 in the American worker is insane.
01:01:59.780 Like, create a tech boot camp.
01:02:01.940 Take kids right out of high school
01:02:03.460 so they don't have to go through
01:02:04.680 this ridiculous college scenario
01:02:06.840 that we have right now
01:02:07.780 filled with DEI
01:02:08.840 and all of these other regulations.
01:02:10.540 Let them go directly into it.
01:02:12.400 Or if these tech workers are so valuable,
01:02:14.820 if they're once-in-a-generation geniuses,
01:02:17.260 well, then just change the H1B requirement
01:02:19.460 so that companies have to pay 100% tax
01:02:23.280 on every salary they pay a foreign worker 0.97
01:02:26.140 and that money goes directly
01:02:27.540 to train American students.
01:02:31.040 Problem solved.
01:02:32.100 You get your best talent
01:02:33.300 and your money goes to invest
01:02:35.640 in the American people.
01:02:37.200 That's simple, right?
01:02:38.100 Unless, of course,
01:02:39.800 that's not what you're using the H1B for.
01:02:42.320 What you're actually using it for
01:02:43.660 is to undercut American labor 0.89
01:02:45.060 to create a global market for labor
01:02:48.160 where you get to privatize the wins
01:02:53.980 and we all get to socialize the costs.
01:02:56.380 Where we have to live in the neighborhoods,
01:02:58.440 we have to live with the crime,
01:02:59.860 we have to live with the crumbling social fabric,
01:03:02.660 we have to live with the generations of kids
01:03:05.120 who don't get opportunities,
01:03:06.500 who aren't invested in,
01:03:07.880 we have to live with all that
01:03:09.100 and you get to live in a rich neighborhood
01:03:11.100 where you get the top 1% of everything
01:03:13.180 and you don't really notice the difference
01:03:14.860 because all you've done is surround yourself
01:03:16.840 with sycophants and people
01:03:18.040 who make an obscene amount of money
01:03:19.480 to avoid the costs
01:03:20.800 of the very situation you've created.
01:03:23.800 This is an eminently solvable problem
01:03:26.320 and the answer is investing in Americans
01:03:29.520 at every point.
01:03:31.700 None of it is,
01:03:32.900 sorry, your culture just sucks 0.98
01:03:35.020 and we've got to fix it for you
01:03:36.400 because we're the immigrants
01:03:37.120 who know how to get this done.
01:03:38.680 No, I'm sorry.
01:03:39.560 That is absurd.
01:03:41.760 It's backhanded.
01:03:42.380 It's condescending.
01:03:43.860 Vivek just absolutely destroyed himself here,
01:03:46.600 lost all credibility,
01:03:48.100 hopefully in the eyes of everyone.
01:03:50.440 As I put the comment here,
01:03:52.240 I didn't quite ratio him on this one,
01:03:53.660 but it did well.
01:03:54.880 Turns out the waste that Doge
01:03:56.140 wanted to cut from America was Americans. 1.00
01:04:02.220 I think, again,
01:04:03.780 it raises a fun question about entitlement
01:04:06.060 or who's the best of the best coming in
01:04:08.180 when both, you know,
01:04:09.540 trying to compete against China,
01:04:11.060 who, you know,
01:04:12.000 this was an issue that even Pat Buchanan
01:04:13.480 was writing about 30 years ago
01:04:14.960 that they're imitative,
01:04:16.180 they don't really innovate,
01:04:17.500 and when it comes to American intellectual property,
01:04:20.420 they will do everything that they can
01:04:21.880 to, you know,
01:04:22.560 steal ours that way
01:04:23.780 that they can try and exploit it and do so.
01:04:26.060 And if not,
01:04:26.600 they'll go to our geopolitical partners
01:04:29.280 in the world.
01:04:30.160 I mean, Pat Buchanan was writing about this
01:04:31.700 in Where the Right Went Wrong in 2004,
01:04:35.000 that, you know,
01:04:35.840 a lot of intellectual property theft
01:04:37.560 with regards to our defense technologies
01:04:39.100 gets stolen by the Chinese 1.00
01:04:41.760 from our partners in the Middle East,
01:04:43.500 whether it be Israel or other partners
01:04:45.240 we have in the region like Turkey.
01:04:46.640 And then additionally,
01:04:48.060 also India is known for having
01:04:49.740 huge cheating scandals
01:04:51.100 every single year.
01:04:53.040 I mean,
01:04:53.180 the BBC was just reporting about it
01:04:54.960 earlier in June of this year
01:04:56.980 that they have, you know,
01:04:58.540 scandal after scandal
01:04:59.480 of just their own civil service exams.
01:05:01.840 And we're really supposed to expect
01:05:03.460 that somehow a system
01:05:05.300 that does not encourage
01:05:06.280 the best and the brightest to come here
01:05:07.580 are all of a sudden going to be the ones
01:05:09.320 that aren't coming from that similar culture
01:05:11.020 where it's about cheating
01:05:12.020 and ethnic nepotism
01:05:13.180 and everything like that.
01:05:14.340 No,
01:05:14.960 there's no competing against a system
01:05:16.900 that is antithetical to ours
01:05:18.640 when we're trying to imitate that
01:05:20.580 is only going to create
01:05:21.840 the same conditions
01:05:22.920 that they came from.
01:05:24.720 And I'm sorry,
01:05:25.320 I don't want to turn California into Canada.
01:05:27.820 I don't want to turn any part of America
01:05:29.200 into Canada with respects to immigration.
01:05:32.120 And the same thing should be said there.
01:05:33.600 I don't want to have
01:05:34.360 the same sort of cheating scandals
01:05:35.840 or the same sort of academic,
01:05:37.440 you know,
01:05:37.780 replication crisis
01:05:38.800 that we're already enduring.
01:05:40.260 We've already seen this
01:05:41.080 with Indian journals as well
01:05:42.380 where like AI generated images
01:05:44.440 were used as models
01:05:45.880 and used as images
01:05:47.160 for their journals
01:05:47.920 about scientific papers
01:05:49.420 with regards to medical technologies.
01:05:51.320 Like,
01:05:51.440 let's not repeat that here.
01:05:52.760 But instead,
01:05:53.920 I think we have two distinct,
01:05:55.680 you know,
01:05:56.380 cultures that we can examine.
01:05:58.060 One being clearly
01:05:59.080 an American one
01:06:00.140 that has gone to the moon,
01:06:01.740 that has created great things,
01:06:03.540 actually using its talent
01:06:05.000 and utilizing the best
01:06:06.460 of American ingenuity
01:06:08.180 and as well as the best ideas
01:06:09.680 and world views from Europe
01:06:11.460 versus what we've got right now.
01:06:13.340 And clearly,
01:06:13.800 when we look at ourselves
01:06:14.960 in regards to innovation,
01:06:16.020 are we really innovating anything?
01:06:18.020 Or are we just creating
01:06:18.700 another sales service product
01:06:20.420 that is going to be
01:06:21.200 a subscription service
01:06:22.180 that, you know,
01:06:23.100 turns us into a society
01:06:24.340 of renters?
01:06:26.860 And it's specifically
01:06:28.340 a society of renters
01:06:29.560 that we can't be.
01:06:30.940 America has its own language
01:06:32.620 distinct from the English
01:06:33.780 on the British Isles.
01:06:35.320 We have our own heritage.
01:06:37.340 It was,
01:06:37.720 and in fact,
01:06:38.260 the people that founded
01:06:39.100 the country
01:06:39.560 as a distinct sovereign entity
01:06:41.180 codified who those people were.
01:06:43.820 We here in the present
01:06:44.940 look back to our heritage
01:06:46.480 and also look forward
01:06:47.620 to our progeny,
01:06:48.780 and that is the nation.
01:06:49.860 If we look back
01:06:51.760 at what our forefathers
01:06:52.780 built with bleeding hands
01:06:54.160 out of the wilderness
01:06:55.140 and creating for us
01:06:56.520 a civilization,
01:06:58.000 we can't,
01:06:58.520 we don't have the ability
01:06:59.840 or the purchase
01:07:00.480 to just give that away
01:07:01.480 to the highest bidder
01:07:02.280 or the most qualified
01:07:03.700 according to a standardized test
01:07:05.720 or an employer.
01:07:07.540 And similarly,
01:07:08.300 if we look forward
01:07:08.860 to our progeny,
01:07:10.100 we don't have the purchase
01:07:11.360 to give away things
01:07:12.840 that should be going
01:07:13.600 to their benefit.
01:07:15.380 The country
01:07:16.180 and the nation
01:07:16.860 is not a concept
01:07:18.120 that is identical
01:07:19.320 with meritocracy.
01:07:20.460 We can have meritocratic
01:07:21.940 things within the country,
01:07:23.740 but the country itself
01:07:24.580 can never be meritocratic.
01:07:26.160 It would dissolve itself.
01:07:27.420 It's mutually exclusive.
01:07:30.460 This is what
01:07:31.260 has gone out the window.
01:07:33.540 We can't,
01:07:35.020 we cannot do it.
01:07:36.420 It's a moral impropriety,
01:07:38.720 something that would be
01:07:39.780 deeply shameful
01:07:41.360 if we read about it
01:07:42.740 in some sort of
01:07:43.620 ancient epic
01:07:45.640 or poem
01:07:46.360 or whatnot else.
01:07:47.300 If you read about
01:07:48.180 a present generation,
01:07:50.060 a living generation,
01:07:51.240 giving away everything
01:07:52.160 that their forefathers
01:07:53.020 worked for
01:07:53.680 to complete outsiders
01:07:55.640 at the expense
01:07:56.640 of their own children,
01:07:58.080 it would be a tragedy,
01:08:00.120 number one.
01:08:01.180 And number two,
01:08:02.740 it would be horrific.
01:08:04.900 We would try
01:08:06.140 to rationalize it away
01:08:07.440 as something
01:08:08.260 that was just being
01:08:09.060 generally discussed
01:08:10.700 and not literal
01:08:11.520 if we read that
01:08:12.360 in an ancient poem
01:08:13.180 because there's no way
01:08:14.300 that some group of people
01:08:15.860 could just do something
01:08:16.760 like that on a whim.
01:08:18.340 But yet,
01:08:18.740 here we are.
01:08:20.120 Below contempt, right?
01:08:21.300 That would be the way
01:08:22.220 that it's viewed
01:08:22.800 by anybody
01:08:23.640 up to the current day.
01:08:26.760 So,
01:08:27.200 I'm not going to hit
01:08:29.300 every post
01:08:29.800 like I said in that,
01:08:30.540 but I just want to hit a few
01:08:31.600 because as you can imagine,
01:08:33.360 there are
01:08:33.800 some people
01:08:35.240 who revealed themselves.
01:08:36.800 Not that many of them
01:08:37.740 weren't already
01:08:38.400 clearly kind of
01:08:39.480 obvious,
01:08:41.100 but some of them
01:08:43.300 came out
01:08:44.340 and revealed themselves
01:08:45.300 as absolutely ridiculous
01:08:46.940 and people who
01:08:47.840 have been grifting,
01:08:48.920 they've been talking
01:08:49.480 about the evils
01:08:50.440 of globalism
01:08:51.380 and all this stuff
01:08:52.220 this whole time
01:08:52.920 and actually it turns out
01:08:54.420 that they didn't care
01:08:55.860 about any of it
01:08:56.660 when someone actually
01:08:58.100 pushed back
01:08:58.620 against globalists,
01:08:59.820 globalism,
01:09:00.620 they fully embraced it
01:09:01.740 and just ran around
01:09:02.560 calling everybody
01:09:03.260 who didn't racist.
01:09:04.600 One of them
01:09:05.080 was Michaela Peterson
01:09:05.960 who said,
01:09:06.780 why'd the woke right,
01:09:08.260 there we go,
01:09:08.920 nice,
01:09:09.200 where'd you get that term,
01:09:10.060 pretend it was
01:09:11.300 illegal immigration
01:09:12.780 they were against
01:09:13.540 when it turns out
01:09:14.440 that it was immigration
01:09:15.420 in general?
01:09:16.420 Well,
01:09:17.280 the MAGA,
01:09:18.600 the Trump voters,
01:09:19.760 if you mean all the
01:09:20.700 actual Republican supporters,
01:09:23.340 they believed this.
01:09:24.760 This was never a confusion.
01:09:26.320 In fact,
01:09:26.980 you can look at the polls
01:09:28.820 throughout American history
01:09:30.920 for as long as they've
01:09:31.880 basically existed
01:09:32.860 on immigration
01:09:33.740 and consistently
01:09:35.160 people left and right
01:09:36.580 have been against
01:09:37.240 both illegal
01:09:38.180 and in most cases
01:09:39.480 legal immigration.
01:09:41.260 This is nothing new.
01:09:42.120 This is not some weird turn.
01:09:44.020 This is,
01:09:44.480 yes,
01:09:44.660 the focus was on
01:09:45.420 illegal immigration
01:09:46.060 because that was
01:09:46.580 the most egregious example
01:09:48.020 and the thing that needed
01:09:49.000 to be solved right away,
01:09:51.220 but this is not anything new.
01:09:52.980 At least be honest about it.
01:09:54.400 If there's assimilation 0.72
01:09:56.200 into the culture
01:09:56.900 and legal immigration,
01:09:58.080 what's the problem
01:09:58.680 other than skin color?
01:10:00.460 A couple things
01:10:00.900 about Michaela Peterson.
01:10:02.120 She's not American. 1.00
01:10:04.500 She fled her country.
01:10:05.780 She fled her country of Canada.
01:10:08.560 Why did she flee
01:10:09.360 her country of Canada?
01:10:10.460 Well,
01:10:10.680 there's a couple reasons.
01:10:12.000 One is that
01:10:13.600 there's no free speech there.
01:10:15.280 There's a high level
01:10:16.040 of political correctness
01:10:18.080 and prosecution
01:10:19.000 based on it.
01:10:20.020 There's economic problems.
01:10:22.020 There's housing problems.
01:10:23.180 There's health care problems.
01:10:24.980 But one of the huge mistakes
01:10:27.280 that Canada has made
01:10:28.500 is it opened its own borders
01:10:30.420 to a large amount
01:10:31.720 of qualified immigrants
01:10:33.440 through very similar means
01:10:34.900 that we're talking about now,
01:10:37.160 especially countries like India,
01:10:39.320 and the country degraded.
01:10:40.780 It degraded in quality.
01:10:42.140 Too many people
01:10:42.680 were competing for jobs.
01:10:43.720 Too many people
01:10:44.220 are competing for housing.
01:10:45.860 It's the point
01:10:46.320 where now people
01:10:46.840 are seeking Canadian health care
01:10:48.520 through the MAID program
01:10:50.280 because they can't afford
01:10:51.500 to pay their bills.
01:10:52.620 People are literally
01:10:53.380 killing themselves
01:10:54.120 because they cannot compete
01:10:55.540 in the economy
01:10:56.780 that was created
01:10:57.760 in exactly the system
01:10:59.140 that Michaela Peterson
01:11:00.200 is now extolling.
01:11:02.100 And guess what?
01:11:03.200 She just got here.
01:11:04.900 And immediately thinks
01:11:06.160 she can run around
01:11:06.840 calling Americans racist
01:11:08.280 because they don't want
01:11:09.180 to turn their country 0.50
01:11:10.260 into Canada.
01:11:10.900 She is just a Californian. 1.00
01:11:13.260 She's just a Californian 1.00
01:11:14.700 who moves into your state
01:11:15.980 and tells you,
01:11:16.800 yeah, I know that my state
01:11:18.160 is unlivable.
01:11:19.160 I know we destroyed
01:11:19.860 one of the most beautiful places
01:11:21.140 in the world
01:11:21.720 and it's functionally impossible
01:11:23.160 for us to have a civilization
01:11:24.440 there anymore
01:11:24.980 because the exact policies
01:11:26.540 that I believed in
01:11:27.600 were instated.
01:11:28.680 But now I think
01:11:29.540 you should do the things
01:11:30.440 the way we did in California.
01:11:32.160 Yeah, I know
01:11:33.020 it destroyed our state,
01:11:35.140 but what if we could
01:11:36.000 destroy your state too?
01:11:37.320 These people are locusts.
01:11:39.140 They're locusts.
01:11:39.840 They just eat everything
01:11:40.980 they can.
01:11:41.600 They consume it.
01:11:42.460 They're rootless.
01:11:43.480 They move on
01:11:44.100 to the next place
01:11:44.720 and they just eat
01:11:45.840 it all as well.
01:11:46.700 They do not care
01:11:47.600 about the people.
01:11:48.460 They do not care
01:11:49.540 about the culture.
01:11:50.420 They have no roots here.
01:11:52.060 There is just nothing
01:11:53.060 tied to this.
01:11:54.380 And Michaela Peterson
01:11:55.220 is, you know,
01:11:56.220 white as the driven snow
01:11:57.260 and she still has
01:11:58.200 this very stupid opinion.
01:11:59.860 So sorry,
01:12:01.340 this is a specific malady
01:12:03.700 of people who think
01:12:04.580 they can just rearrange cultures.
01:12:06.420 It is dumb
01:12:07.000 every time it's tried,
01:12:08.200 whether it's done in Canada,
01:12:09.880 the United States,
01:12:11.160 Britain.
01:12:11.580 It's always a mistake.
01:12:12.820 It always fails.
01:12:14.300 And all these people
01:12:15.120 want to do is move
01:12:15.820 to the place
01:12:16.220 where it hasn't failed
01:12:16.920 quite as badly
01:12:18.040 and make sure it gets ruined
01:12:19.240 by the very policies
01:12:20.100 they just made
01:12:21.840 in their own nation
01:12:23.280 that they had to flee.
01:12:27.260 We also got
01:12:31.980 Constantine Kissin here.
01:12:33.800 Won't spend a lot of time
01:12:34.720 on this guy.
01:12:35.560 Already said plenty.
01:12:36.960 But the post is,
01:12:38.540 now that Elon Vivek
01:12:39.620 and others who came
01:12:40.220 across the woke right,
01:12:41.200 it's helpful to once again
01:12:42.240 lay out the basics.
01:12:43.060 The woke right
01:12:43.480 is a section of the right
01:12:44.580 which is like the woke left,
01:12:46.940 believes in racism
01:12:47.780 for the right reasons.
01:12:49.460 It's a conspiracy
01:12:50.080 about how the world
01:12:50.880 is systemically,
01:12:51.720 institutionally against them
01:12:52.760 and happily uses the tactic 0.97
01:12:54.600 of mobbing
01:12:55.140 and canceling others.
01:12:56.000 Other woke right tactics
01:12:57.920 to attack their opponents.
01:12:59.340 They won't believe
01:12:59.780 in discussing views
01:13:00.560 or ideas,
01:13:01.080 only winning.
01:13:01.720 It's basically BLM
01:13:02.660 for white people.
01:13:03.820 Again,
01:13:04.800 who on the internet right
01:13:07.620 is canceling anybody?
01:13:08.760 In fact,
01:13:09.240 James Lindsay started
01:13:09.980 doxing people over this.
01:13:11.820 So actually,
01:13:12.480 it's these guys
01:13:13.400 who are acting
01:13:14.260 as woke leftists.
01:13:16.760 Elon is taking
01:13:18.480 people's checks away
01:13:19.860 or, you know,
01:13:21.300 de-boosting their accounts,
01:13:22.300 changing the algorithm
01:13:23.160 to censor people.
01:13:24.440 Who's the one
01:13:25.100 canceling here?
01:13:25.820 Who is that?
01:13:26.740 Oh, also,
01:13:27.500 it's BLM for white people.
01:13:28.740 So hiring people
01:13:30.480 in the United States
01:13:31.340 who live in the United States
01:13:32.740 is BLM.
01:13:34.740 That's how that works.
01:13:35.860 If you prefer
01:13:36.760 the people of your nation
01:13:38.520 to foreigners,
01:13:39.800 and by the way,
01:13:40.380 Constant Kissen
01:13:40.880 is not in the United States.
01:13:42.440 He's in Britain.
01:13:43.140 And by the way,
01:13:43.580 he's not a native
01:13:44.500 to Britain either.
01:13:45.260 He's an immigrant.
01:13:46.080 So he's insulting
01:13:46.760 two cultures
01:13:47.560 that he had to come to,
01:13:49.300 came to one,
01:13:50.220 isn't even a part
01:13:50.860 of the other at all.
01:13:51.900 And he's insulting them
01:13:53.040 and saying,
01:13:53.300 oh, this is just BLM
01:13:54.340 for white people.
01:13:56.060 Feel free to return
01:13:57.200 to where you love so much,
01:14:00.160 Constant,
01:14:00.620 since that's such a great system.
01:14:02.580 Since that,
01:14:03.280 you know,
01:14:03.420 what we're running here
01:14:04.120 is so bad,
01:14:04.920 it's just a bunch of racists
01:14:06.120 over here.
01:14:07.140 Then feel free.
01:14:08.640 I'm sure there's a great system
01:14:10.000 waiting back
01:14:10.680 at home for you.
01:14:12.000 But feel free
01:14:15.620 to jump in here, guys.
01:14:16.500 Yeah, it's a,
01:14:17.440 there's this,
01:14:18.420 they've also just pulled
01:14:20.100 the frame
01:14:20.600 where it's racism
01:14:22.380 if you think
01:14:23.300 that the nation
01:14:24.280 has a responsibility
01:14:25.760 to its people.
01:14:27.460 Right.
01:14:28.320 I cannot,
01:14:30.120 whenever the left
01:14:30.880 accused people of this
01:14:32.460 in like 2016,
01:14:34.420 I distinctly remember
01:14:35.360 everyone was talking about
01:14:36.280 this is just
01:14:36.720 civilizationally suicidal,
01:14:38.780 who would be malignant
01:14:40.480 or idiotic enough 0.75
01:14:41.900 to believe that
01:14:42.820 if you want your nation
01:14:43.740 to continue existing
01:14:45.080 as a distinct entity
01:14:46.440 then you're racist.
01:14:47.700 In fact,
01:14:48.040 that was the whole
01:14:48.700 part of the,
01:14:49.900 that was the whole
01:14:50.840 cascade of political
01:14:52.680 awakening,
01:14:53.660 if you will,
01:14:54.280 that caused everyone
01:14:55.180 to go further
01:14:55.760 to the right
01:14:56.200 was as soon as you were told
01:14:57.220 you cannot have
01:14:58.380 your own homeland.
01:15:00.220 But,
01:15:00.800 now that's apparently
01:15:01.700 woke right.
01:15:02.380 It's woke right
01:15:03.020 to believe
01:15:03.560 that you have
01:15:04.580 ancestors
01:15:05.320 and will have progeny
01:15:06.860 that should take priority
01:15:08.780 over other nations
01:15:09.840 because they're yours.
01:15:12.340 Are you taking care
01:15:12.960 of your children?
01:15:13.980 Oh,
01:15:14.340 that's BLM.
01:15:15.420 That's racism.
01:15:17.160 That's DEI
01:15:18.200 for your kids.
01:15:19.400 Your kids are white, 1.00
01:15:19.980 right?
01:15:20.220 That's DEI for them.
01:15:21.460 You're preferring them
01:15:22.160 over some random child
01:15:23.460 somewhere in India
01:15:24.860 or in Bangladesh
01:15:25.660 or in China?
01:15:27.360 What kind of racist
01:15:28.020 are you?
01:15:29.360 I was going to like
01:15:30.840 playfully say
01:15:32.180 that I guess
01:15:32.680 Aristotle was woke right,
01:15:33.920 but that is an actual line
01:15:35.060 I've seen taken
01:15:35.840 by people arguing
01:15:36.820 against Stephen Wolf.
01:15:37.780 So I guess
01:15:40.020 this is just where we are.
01:15:41.360 But on the bright side
01:15:43.660 to everyone in the audience
01:15:44.860 who might agree with us
01:15:45.760 here on the panel,
01:15:46.920 apparently the woke right
01:15:48.000 is the oldest
01:15:48.620 living ideology.
01:15:50.260 It has a great history.
01:15:52.500 Quite the intellectual tradition
01:15:53.620 reaching all the way
01:15:54.400 back to ancient Greece.
01:15:55.460 Yeah,
01:15:55.700 we have Aristotle,
01:15:57.140 Aquinas,
01:15:58.240 every living philosopher
01:15:59.760 until about the 1950s.
01:16:02.260 Feeling pretty good
01:16:02.840 about that,
01:16:03.320 yeah.
01:16:03.620 Yeah,
01:16:03.940 quite frankly,
01:16:05.040 I don't know
01:16:05.440 what's so wrong with it.
01:16:06.840 Yeah,
01:16:07.780 all right.
01:16:09.720 Last one here.
01:16:10.680 James Lindsay
01:16:11.420 just beclowned himself
01:16:13.580 many a time during this.
01:16:14.780 Can't go through all his hits,
01:16:16.320 but this was my favorite one.
01:16:17.900 J.D. Vance is pushing
01:16:18.880 the fascist definition
01:16:20.400 of a nation
01:16:21.080 as the predominant definition
01:16:22.920 for America
01:16:23.780 in defiance
01:16:25.580 of all American history.
01:16:27.320 I didn't make him do it.
01:16:28.680 I would have advised him
01:16:29.440 against it,
01:16:30.060 but he's not listening to me.
01:16:30.980 He's listening to you.
01:16:31.800 And he was talking
01:16:32.420 to Yoram Harzoni here.
01:16:34.640 He was talking to Harzoni.
01:16:38.120 But this is amazing.
01:16:40.880 J.D. Vance,
01:16:41.680 who might be
01:16:42.620 one of the most popular
01:16:43.960 vice presidential
01:16:46.140 kind of electees
01:16:48.240 in quite a while,
01:16:50.260 one with certainly
01:16:51.160 the highest profile of many
01:16:52.520 and is looked upon
01:16:54.220 very fondly
01:16:54.980 in a way
01:16:55.280 that most are not.
01:16:56.580 He's a fascist.
01:16:57.700 Why?
01:16:58.560 Because he thinks
01:16:59.380 America is a nation.
01:17:00.800 That's literally
01:17:01.540 what he's attacking.
01:17:02.740 J.D. Vance believes
01:17:03.460 that America is a nation
01:17:04.480 and James Lindsay
01:17:05.540 doesn't think it is.
01:17:07.860 That's it.
01:17:08.620 Like, it's that simple.
01:17:10.240 America is an economic zone.
01:17:12.560 J.D. Vance thinks that,
01:17:13.680 oh, actually, no,
01:17:14.440 America is a people
01:17:15.280 and it's a place
01:17:16.500 and we have to care about them.
01:17:18.060 And he says,
01:17:18.540 that makes you racist
01:17:19.540 and you're a fascist. 0.92
01:17:21.880 And so, therefore,
01:17:22.660 and so he thinks
01:17:23.560 his best way
01:17:24.340 to make inroads
01:17:25.080 is by attacking
01:17:25.760 this extremely popular
01:17:26.940 vice president.
01:17:29.040 But that said,
01:17:30.140 we have gone through
01:17:31.680 quite a bit
01:17:32.220 and there are a lot
01:17:33.540 of chats,
01:17:34.340 which thank you everybody
01:17:35.320 for sending in super chats,
01:17:37.140 but we have quite a bit
01:17:37.900 to get through.
01:17:38.480 So is there anything
01:17:39.300 you guys want to touch on
01:17:41.600 before we get started
01:17:42.960 with the questions
01:17:43.440 of the people?
01:17:44.800 Yes, very quickly.
01:17:46.260 James Lindsay had this tweet,
01:17:47.660 we don't need to pull it up,
01:17:48.640 where he basically
01:17:49.620 just gave a quote,
01:17:51.140 which this is a tactic
01:17:52.340 of his quite often.
01:17:53.740 He gave a quote
01:17:54.440 of a definition
01:17:55.260 of the word nation
01:17:57.280 and then he said,
01:17:58.480 ah, but those came
01:17:59.140 from Stalin.
01:18:00.500 Stalin was tasked
01:18:01.420 with finding out
01:18:02.040 how nations would work
01:18:03.020 within a Marxist dictatorship.
01:18:05.640 And it was interesting
01:18:07.000 for two reasons.
01:18:07.820 Number one,
01:18:08.300 the quote that Lindsay pulled
01:18:09.620 about Stalin's definition
01:18:11.100 had nothing to do
01:18:13.440 with race.
01:18:13.940 In fact,
01:18:14.260 it specifically avoided
01:18:15.380 heritage, race,
01:18:16.660 lineage, genetics,
01:18:17.720 whatever you want
01:18:18.440 to talk about
01:18:19.100 that's the scary thing.
01:18:22.120 Stalin's quote
01:18:22.760 deliberately avoided it.
01:18:24.200 He focused on geography
01:18:25.680 and language
01:18:26.340 and shared customs
01:18:28.100 and laws and whatnot.
01:18:30.000 Secondly,
01:18:31.120 this is very clearly
01:18:32.540 not Stalin writing
01:18:34.460 because Stalin did not care
01:18:35.880 about these nations
01:18:38.340 in that way.
01:18:39.920 It would not shock me
01:18:41.180 if James Lindsay
01:18:41.940 lacked the reading comprehension
01:18:43.760 to understand
01:18:44.380 that Stalin probably 0.59
01:18:45.320 took the definition
01:18:46.400 from somewhere else
01:18:47.440 and just worked with it
01:18:48.580 because that's what
01:18:49.260 most people at the time
01:18:50.280 understood with nations.
01:18:51.900 James Lindsay,
01:18:52.480 by the way,
01:18:53.360 is supposedly an academic
01:18:54.720 who knows more
01:18:55.920 about academic concepts
01:18:57.380 than you.
01:18:58.720 But he wants you
01:18:59.940 to know that he's gotcha
01:19:01.080 if he comes across
01:19:02.380 a quote by Stalin
01:19:03.380 or Hitler 0.77
01:19:03.840 that says roughly
01:19:05.160 the same things
01:19:05.820 that you do
01:19:06.340 no matter what
01:19:07.000 the conversation is.
01:19:08.260 And in fact,
01:19:08.700 it doesn't even matter
01:19:09.520 if it's Stalin
01:19:10.560 or Hitler saying it.
01:19:11.460 So long as your line
01:19:12.780 of rhetoric
01:19:13.280 is the same rhetoric
01:19:14.380 that they've used
01:19:15.200 at any point
01:19:15.780 in their career,
01:19:16.380 you're basically them
01:19:17.240 as well.
01:19:18.260 I don't know
01:19:19.260 why anyone continues
01:19:20.260 to humor him
01:19:21.020 with any attention
01:19:23.180 whatsoever
01:19:23.720 if not to just
01:19:24.520 mercilessly mock him.
01:19:26.820 Yeah,
01:19:27.260 the many dangers
01:19:27.960 of lolcaoism
01:19:29.320 and that's for sure.
01:19:30.440 And I mean,
01:19:30.640 even though Stalin's
01:19:31.480 policies of,
01:19:32.580 you know,
01:19:32.940 basically using demographics
01:19:34.500 to ensure imperial territory
01:19:36.640 in the Soviet satellite states,
01:19:38.040 I mean,
01:19:38.180 one can look at the history
01:19:38.920 of Kazakhstan
01:19:39.380 if they're really interested.
01:19:40.900 I really,
01:19:41.340 the only thing to add here,
01:19:42.720 Oren,
01:19:42.920 before we get to the questions
01:19:43.740 of the people
01:19:44.260 is that,
01:19:45.520 again,
01:19:46.720 we talk about coastal elites
01:19:48.080 and how out of touch
01:19:49.180 they are
01:19:49.620 and how out of touch
01:19:50.360 they are with America.
01:19:51.100 I find it funny
01:19:52.360 that before he decided
01:19:53.740 to do another rug pull
01:19:54.940 on a meme coin
01:19:55.780 by changing his Twitter handle
01:19:57.420 like it's 2016
01:19:58.320 about something
01:19:59.000 with regards to Keck
01:20:00.000 that,
01:20:00.900 you know,
01:20:01.240 he had said
01:20:01.760 that the people
01:20:02.180 had voted
01:20:02.540 for major government reform.
01:20:04.180 Well,
01:20:04.480 the people had voted on
01:20:05.440 for a reduction
01:20:06.040 in immigration
01:20:06.660 legal and illegal
01:20:07.820 and the definitions
01:20:09.120 that,
01:20:09.680 you know,
01:20:09.960 are about a nation
01:20:10.920 or what even America's
01:20:12.000 first immigration laws were
01:20:13.320 show that America
01:20:14.700 was not founded
01:20:15.380 on just some set of principles.
01:20:16.540 It's not an idea.
01:20:17.480 It's not a place
01:20:17.940 for us to bring in
01:20:19.100 millions of people
01:20:19.800 to come into.
01:20:20.460 No,
01:20:21.020 it has been
01:20:21.480 a historical nation.
01:20:22.640 It has been
01:20:22.880 about a people.
01:20:23.780 It has been
01:20:24.160 about a people
01:20:24.680 that will come here
01:20:25.620 and endure the frontier
01:20:26.700 to become an American.
01:20:28.420 Whatever that may be
01:20:29.340 in the 21st century
01:20:30.320 remains to be seen,
01:20:31.400 but clearly
01:20:31.800 there is nothing
01:20:33.080 that is the equivalent
01:20:33.860 of the frontier
01:20:34.480 as the great Americanizer
01:20:36.000 with Silicon Valley
01:20:37.400 and our current problems
01:20:38.380 as it is.
01:20:39.340 And for them
01:20:39.720 to finally realize
01:20:41.040 that someone's going
01:20:41.680 to tell them no
01:20:42.380 is a good thing
01:20:43.160 because these guys
01:20:44.620 have lived
01:20:45.080 in their ivory towers
01:20:46.420 made of silicon
01:20:47.120 for far too long.
01:20:48.200 And I think
01:20:48.520 that it's time
01:20:49.080 that they,
01:20:49.560 along with numerous
01:20:50.660 others,
01:20:51.100 realize that there
01:20:51.780 is far more
01:20:52.320 to this country
01:20:52.960 than just for them
01:20:53.820 to live off
01:20:54.500 of entitlements
01:20:55.200 and complain
01:20:56.220 when the people
01:20:56.920 who built this country
01:20:57.800 say enough of that.
01:20:59.040 Yeah, again,
01:21:01.620 you know,
01:21:02.600 Elon Musk loves saying
01:21:04.080 Vox Populi,
01:21:05.140 Vox Dei, right?
01:21:06.200 The voice of the people
01:21:07.080 is the voice of God.
01:21:08.000 Well, the voice of the people
01:21:08.800 have told you to shut up. 0.98
01:21:10.740 They've told you you're wrong.
01:21:12.260 It's time for you to learn.
01:21:13.420 Again,
01:21:14.220 it's good to have
01:21:15.160 these conversations.
01:21:16.460 I would have given Elon
01:21:17.340 a lot of credit
01:21:17.920 for these conversations,
01:21:18.880 except it seems like
01:21:20.160 he actually did censor people
01:21:21.460 and intends to shift
01:21:22.700 the algorithm
01:21:23.180 to censor people over this,
01:21:24.380 which is a really bad sign
01:21:26.020 from Elon.
01:21:26.900 But on top of this,
01:21:28.560 the one thing
01:21:29.580 that is a blessing
01:21:30.340 that I think we've kind of
01:21:31.120 all brought up here
01:21:32.040 is this does put the issue
01:21:33.460 front of mind for people.
01:21:35.020 People who didn't know
01:21:36.300 anything about the H-1B
01:21:37.640 are suddenly going
01:21:38.840 through these databases,
01:21:40.140 seeing who actually,
01:21:41.540 what the actual jobs are
01:21:42.780 that get put in there,
01:21:43.720 what actually gets hired for,
01:21:45.440 recognizing that
01:21:46.220 this is not rocket science,
01:21:48.080 except in the few cases
01:21:50.140 where it is actually
01:21:50.980 for SpaceX.
01:21:52.020 But for the most part,
01:21:52.820 these people are not,
01:21:54.520 you know,
01:21:54.640 they're entry-level accountants.
01:21:56.080 It's that kind of stuff,
01:21:57.440 the things that Americans
01:21:58.340 would gladly do,
01:21:59.840 but that these corporations
01:22:01.920 can simply pay someone
01:22:03.400 from a foreign country
01:22:04.380 less to do.
01:22:05.400 And that's why
01:22:06.320 they're being brought in.
01:22:07.380 It also means that
01:22:08.320 this issue is going
01:22:08.860 to be front of mind
01:22:09.960 for everyone going in
01:22:11.640 to Trump's first hundred days.
01:22:13.980 The first hundred days
01:22:14.580 are famously
01:22:15.140 a very important period.
01:22:17.500 A lot of things get done then.
01:22:19.160 Immigration was already 1.00
01:22:20.200 in the front of many people's minds,
01:22:22.140 but it was illegal immigration.
01:22:23.640 It was mainly the deportations
01:22:25.880 and the border.
01:22:26.960 But now legal immigration
01:22:28.280 is going to be front of mind
01:22:29.180 and it's going to be hard
01:22:29.980 for Elon or anyone else
01:22:31.340 to try to sneak in
01:22:32.380 any of these expansions
01:22:34.120 into legal immigration
01:22:35.340 because this is all up front.
01:22:37.360 So I think ultimately
01:22:38.320 this is good.
01:22:40.120 Again,
01:22:40.320 it's nothing that we didn't know
01:22:41.540 was coming.
01:22:42.180 It's a battle that we knew
01:22:43.060 was going to happen.
01:22:44.280 Nobody who is at all serious
01:22:46.120 is surprised that this is
01:22:47.440 where this discussion went.
01:22:49.620 And ultimately,
01:22:50.180 I think this discussion
01:22:50.940 is positive
01:22:51.520 because it lets people know
01:22:52.620 what's going on.
01:22:53.960 It makes them aware
01:22:54.840 of the situation
01:22:55.520 and it makes it salient
01:22:57.040 for people
01:22:57.540 when they have that moment
01:22:59.480 with what do we focus on?
01:23:00.760 What should we be doing?
01:23:02.100 What should be something
01:23:02.820 that we are paying attention to?
01:23:04.480 This all stays front of mind.
01:23:06.480 Before we go to the questions
01:23:07.620 of people, guys,
01:23:08.580 I want to let you know
01:23:09.420 the total state
01:23:10.480 is finally out on audiobook.
01:23:12.480 So if you are one
01:23:13.700 of the hundreds of people
01:23:14.680 who said,
01:23:15.300 Oren, I really want to read your book,
01:23:16.780 but I just don't have time.
01:23:18.200 I listen to books
01:23:19.000 when I'm working out
01:23:19.740 or mowing the grass
01:23:20.580 or driving
01:23:21.180 or, you know, whatever.
01:23:22.900 And so I always listen.
01:23:25.360 I don't get a physical copy.
01:23:26.460 I've got great news.
01:23:27.340 It is finally out.
01:23:28.340 It came out yesterday.
01:23:29.460 So if you want to pick up
01:23:30.580 your copy on audiobook,
01:23:32.420 you can do that now.
01:23:34.620 Ryan, can you let people know
01:23:36.200 where to find your stuff
01:23:37.360 before we move on?
01:23:38.560 Yes, you can find
01:23:39.540 my YouTube channel
01:23:40.440 here on YouTube,
01:23:41.780 which is just under my name,
01:23:43.800 Ryan Turnipseed.
01:23:45.140 You can find me on Twitter
01:23:46.120 at Turnip Merchant.
01:23:47.340 And you can also find
01:23:48.920 a lot of my writings
01:23:49.820 and the writings
01:23:50.540 of other very talented
01:23:52.160 and great Americans,
01:23:53.700 perhaps the same people
01:23:54.800 who have been closed out
01:23:55.860 of our workforce
01:23:56.940 and education systems,
01:23:58.780 over at the Old Glory Club,
01:24:00.780 which is an organization
01:24:03.020 based around helping Americans,
01:24:06.660 specifically American men,
01:24:07.960 as a brotherhood.
01:24:09.080 We care deeply about
01:24:10.720 American culture and heritage.
01:24:12.540 You can go read about it
01:24:13.900 on the substack,
01:24:15.340 the Old Glory Club.
01:24:16.220 All right.
01:24:18.160 And Prudentialist,
01:24:19.340 where should people be
01:24:20.080 looking for your work?
01:24:21.760 Oh, well, you can find me
01:24:22.720 on Twitter at Mr. Prudentialist.
01:24:24.760 You can find me
01:24:25.220 on Substack YouTube.
01:24:26.220 Just look for the lovely amphibian
01:24:27.540 that you see on screen
01:24:28.560 or, you know,
01:24:29.460 wherever you tend
01:24:30.680 to find my works online.
01:24:32.840 I would just recommend,
01:24:34.280 of course,
01:24:34.880 to check out a conversation
01:24:36.000 Ryan and I had on my channel.
01:24:37.780 It was literally called
01:24:38.540 New Right Fights,
01:24:40.240 just sort of covering
01:24:41.080 the history of the infighting
01:24:43.400 between paleo-conservative
01:24:44.960 as well as neoconservative
01:24:46.520 movements in the United States
01:24:47.940 and throughout the 20th century
01:24:49.220 and what that means
01:24:50.420 for the Trump administration.
01:24:51.920 I think that that has,
01:24:52.940 discussion has aged very well
01:24:54.340 in the context of this discussion
01:24:55.900 over immigration.
01:24:57.240 And if you want to hear
01:24:57.960 my thoughts more
01:24:58.580 on the immigration question,
01:24:59.880 specifically over what's happened
01:25:01.240 with this H-1B showdown,
01:25:02.640 then head on over
01:25:03.960 to the Old Glory Club substack.
01:25:05.460 I literally just recently
01:25:06.800 wrote an article
01:25:07.400 on this issue called
01:25:09.380 Not an Economic Zone.
01:25:11.280 So if you're interested,
01:25:12.080 you can go read that there.
01:25:13.940 Excellent.
01:25:14.520 Yes.
01:25:14.720 Make sure to check out
01:25:15.620 both of these men's great work.
01:25:18.220 They absolutely deserve
01:25:19.340 more attention
01:25:20.380 for what they are doing.
01:25:21.920 Make sure that you are
01:25:22.960 helping out our friends
01:25:24.100 when possible.
01:25:25.780 All right.
01:25:26.400 Let's go over to
01:25:27.520 the questions of the people
01:25:28.620 real quick.
01:25:31.040 John Wesley Fadova
01:25:33.580 says,
01:25:35.260 did you make this lie?
01:25:38.140 Sorry, man.
01:25:38.940 I'm not really sure
01:25:39.720 what the reference is there.
01:25:41.660 He's referencing Elon Musk.
01:25:43.660 You know,
01:25:44.060 there was a fake screenshot
01:25:45.100 of one of the Musk.
01:25:47.020 It was a fake tweet
01:25:47.880 that people were passing around
01:25:49.000 and Musk would reply
01:25:50.560 with that exact line.
01:25:51.800 Did you make this lie?
01:25:53.220 Oh, OK.
01:25:53.880 All right.
01:25:54.420 Gotcha.
01:25:55.220 Yeah.
01:25:55.360 But he did actually respond
01:25:56.500 to the parody account, right?
01:25:57.840 That one was genuine.
01:25:59.360 Yes.
01:25:59.980 Yes.
01:26:00.520 Yeah.
01:26:00.740 I was like,
01:26:01.220 I know.
01:26:01.800 Yeah.
01:26:02.060 Like Ryan pointed out
01:26:02.760 it was a parody account,
01:26:03.560 but he did respond to it
01:26:04.920 as if it was saying
01:26:06.320 what he actually believed.
01:26:07.460 But yeah,
01:26:08.100 I think there was a
01:26:09.040 there was a screenshot
01:26:11.100 or two that was not genuine,
01:26:12.880 but wanted to make sure
01:26:13.560 we were only sharing
01:26:14.200 the right ones.
01:26:15.580 Let's see here.
01:26:17.820 Sorry,
01:26:18.700 I can't read anything today.
01:26:21.780 Bominay Igloo says,
01:26:23.340 how else are you going
01:26:24.200 to send money to Israel?
01:26:25.580 Well,
01:26:25.820 as always,
01:26:26.900 the United States
01:26:27.420 should not be involved
01:26:28.340 in any foreign aid,
01:26:30.440 Israel included.
01:26:32.120 Let's see here.
01:26:33.800 Templar says,
01:26:34.620 Happy New Year's honeymoon
01:26:37.060 may be over
01:26:38.140 before it began.
01:26:39.880 But remember,
01:26:40.440 the next four years
01:26:41.280 were never more
01:26:42.080 than a period to build.
01:26:43.620 Yeah,
01:26:43.820 that's exactly right,
01:26:44.740 man.
01:26:44.900 Once again,
01:26:45.820 I know there are,
01:26:47.440 you know,
01:26:47.740 there are people out there
01:26:48.440 being like,
01:26:48.820 ha ha,
01:26:49.320 we told you Trump,
01:26:50.480 Elon,
01:26:51.360 it's,
01:26:51.660 you know,
01:26:51.860 they're not going to be
01:26:53.000 everything exactly
01:26:54.100 what you want.
01:26:54.640 It's like,
01:26:54.920 yeah,
01:26:55.040 man,
01:26:55.260 we always knew that.
01:26:57.000 As Prudential has pointed out,
01:26:59.540 maybe things swung
01:27:00.660 into action a little earlier.
01:27:01.840 I didn't expect them
01:27:02.460 to breach this on Christmas,
01:27:03.700 but hey,
01:27:04.620 who are Americans
01:27:05.420 if not people
01:27:05.960 who fight a war
01:27:06.520 on Christmas,
01:27:07.140 right?
01:27:07.440 So nothing new there.
01:27:10.260 But ultimately,
01:27:11.180 this year,
01:27:12.540 this four-year period
01:27:13.220 is always breathing,
01:27:14.320 breathing your room.
01:27:15.260 You can't sit around
01:27:16.180 and expect Elon or Trump
01:27:17.440 or anyone else
01:27:17.980 to fix the United States
01:27:18.900 for you.
01:27:19.720 This is time for you
01:27:20.840 to build in your community,
01:27:22.320 strengthen those networks,
01:27:23.780 level yourself up,
01:27:24.960 your community up,
01:27:25.720 your family up.
01:27:27.040 Those are the things
01:27:27.860 that you have to work on.
01:27:29.180 If they do things
01:27:30.400 at the top that are great,
01:27:31.600 if they,
01:27:31.960 that's awesome.
01:27:33.040 If they just give us
01:27:34.040 the breathing room,
01:27:35.040 that's fine too.
01:27:36.140 We're going to get it done
01:27:36.820 either way.
01:27:40.660 Let's see here.
01:27:41.960 Happy New Year's
01:27:42.980 to all my fellow
01:27:43.660 Catholic cultists 0.94
01:27:44.560 of Eremon St. Michael.
01:27:46.680 Yes,
01:27:47.080 for those who are unfamiliar,
01:27:48.660 James Lindsay
01:27:49.640 has accused me
01:27:50.740 of being a Southern Baptist
01:27:52.040 agent of the Pope
01:27:53.720 interested in summoning
01:27:55.960 Zoroastrian demons 0.99
01:27:57.980 via St. Michael,
01:27:59.540 the Archangels.
01:28:00.300 So that's a thing,
01:28:02.940 I suppose.
01:28:04.080 Sounds fun.
01:28:05.300 You know,
01:28:05.800 good time.
01:28:06.340 We can meet on Tuesdays
01:28:07.240 and Thursdays.
01:28:09.600 Someone said,
01:28:10.260 this is like saying
01:28:10.940 that there's a Protestant
01:28:12.140 night,
01:28:12.880 you know,
01:28:13.380 a fervent Protestant
01:28:14.800 night of Columbus.
01:28:16.240 And I was like,
01:28:16.760 well,
01:28:16.860 that's actually literally
01:28:17.640 what he's accused me of.
01:28:19.200 Robert Winesfeld
01:28:20.020 says,
01:28:20.480 Happy New Year.
01:28:21.340 Thank you very much,
01:28:22.020 sir.
01:28:22.160 Happy New Year to you
01:28:23.140 and everyone hope
01:28:25.060 everyone is gearing up
01:28:25.940 for a great 2025.
01:28:29.100 Creepy Weirdo says,
01:28:30.040 Can the DR not fall
01:28:31.500 into nihilism for a second?
01:28:32.740 We know Elon
01:28:33.340 is in charge of immigration,
01:28:34.880 right?
01:28:35.760 Isn't the guy Trump
01:28:36.800 picked famously famous
01:28:38.300 for saying families
01:28:39.300 can be sent back together,
01:28:40.340 but take the BP.
01:28:42.520 Yeah,
01:28:42.800 again,
01:28:43.380 there are so many people
01:28:44.600 who just want to yell,
01:28:46.160 I'm right about Trump.
01:28:47.020 I was right about all this,
01:28:48.420 that they blow everything
01:28:49.820 out of the portion.
01:28:50.420 That's why like every throwaway
01:28:51.700 line that Trump has
01:28:52.720 suddenly gets thrown
01:28:53.520 into the media
01:28:54.120 is like,
01:28:54.720 he's betraying the base,
01:28:56.120 it's over.
01:28:56.600 Now,
01:28:56.800 again,
01:28:58.020 Trump is not perfect.
01:28:59.100 You should push back.
01:29:00.260 We are pushing back
01:29:00.980 against Elon Vivek right now,
01:29:02.920 but there is,
01:29:03.500 but be thoughtful.
01:29:04.740 You know,
01:29:04.920 use,
01:29:05.340 have some level of strategy,
01:29:07.260 okay?
01:29:07.540 Like,
01:29:08.220 think about things for a second.
01:29:09.560 Don't immediately become
01:29:10.760 blackpilled.
01:29:12.340 And he also follows up
01:29:13.520 with the blackpills
01:29:14.100 suppository,
01:29:15.880 by the way,
01:29:16.280 don't forget.
01:29:20.400 Let's see here.
01:29:21.400 Adam Keeney says,
01:29:22.980 changing your profile pic
01:29:23.940 to a Pepe is the new,
01:29:25.000 we just need to get back
01:29:26.100 to the Constitution.
01:29:27.460 Yeah,
01:29:27.740 he did,
01:29:28.280 he did do that,
01:29:28.980 though,
01:29:29.160 as,
01:29:29.400 as Prudentials pointed out,
01:29:32.340 that was also in backing
01:29:33.380 a meme coin.
01:29:34.580 The wonderful academic
01:29:36.720 James Limsey
01:29:37.480 has informed me,
01:29:38.300 though,
01:29:38.500 that the Constitution
01:29:39.540 is actually just a document
01:29:40.760 by Robin DiAngelo
01:29:41.920 because it was racist.
01:29:44.500 Yeah,
01:29:44.780 well,
01:29:45.200 the,
01:29:45.540 the,
01:29:45.760 uh,
01:29:47.140 what,
01:29:48.500 yeah,
01:29:48.660 what was he saying?
01:29:49.640 Like,
01:29:49.900 they got the language
01:29:50.900 from Robin DiAngelo.
01:29:52.760 It was the first
01:29:54.260 Immigration Act.
01:29:54.940 Immigration Act,
01:29:55.720 yes.
01:29:56.320 Yeah,
01:29:56.560 yeah,
01:29:56.860 yeah.
01:29:57.420 It looks like all
01:29:58.880 the founding fathers
01:29:59.520 in the 1790s
01:30:00.440 were just cribbing off
01:30:01.320 of Robin DiAngelo's book
01:30:02.660 had that time machine ready.
01:30:04.540 Truly day epic,
01:30:05.340 really.
01:30:06.020 It's ultimately,
01:30:07.160 yeah,
01:30:07.340 that's,
01:30:07.760 these guys were pretty amazing.
01:30:09.840 Uh,
01:30:10.480 TK says,
01:30:11.240 uh,
01:30:11.440 Operation Pooper Clip.
01:30:13.100 Gotta bring in the next
01:30:14.160 Von Braun.
01:30:16.740 Uh,
01:30:17.260 let's see here.
01:30:18.520 Uh,
01:30:18.760 Philosophical Thirstworm says,
01:30:20.620 I genuinely think
01:30:21.340 Elon's new handle
01:30:22.580 on Twitter is worth,
01:30:23.560 uh,
01:30:24.380 deporting him over that,
01:30:26.000 uh,
01:30:26.240 on that very point,
01:30:27.140 at least.
01:30:27.780 Gen X bothers me 1.00
01:30:28.680 as much as boomers 0.79
01:30:29.860 at this point.
01:30:31.400 Uh,
01:30:31.680 again,
01:30:32.160 you know,
01:30:32.440 I,
01:30:32.660 I don't,
01:30:33.020 I don't always find
01:30:33.800 the generational,
01:30:34.760 generational discourse
01:30:35.960 as hopeful.
01:30:36.720 I mean,
01:30:36.940 there are certainly
01:30:37.920 different aspects
01:30:39.080 to each generation.
01:30:40.260 I don't know if
01:30:41.160 Elon from South Africa
01:30:43.000 really represents
01:30:43.960 all of America's Gen X, 0.80
01:30:46.200 uh,
01:30:46.420 though he could,
01:30:47.040 I guess,
01:30:47.400 you know,
01:30:47.660 I'm not sure exactly
01:30:48.520 how one applies that.
01:30:51.840 Let's see here.
01:30:52.840 Uh,
01:30:53.000 Mint 20 says,
01:30:53.740 please redeem this visa,
01:30:56.260 SAR.
01:30:56.660 We can save your country,
01:30:58.040 SAR.
01:30:58.620 Uh,
01:30:58.820 don't you know
01:30:59.320 we are Aryans too,
01:31:00.720 SAR? 0.71
01:31:01.080 Yes,
01:31:01.440 indeed.
01:31:02.620 Uh,
01:31:02.900 let's see here.
01:31:04.820 Cody Browning says,
01:31:05.760 uh,
01:31:06.560 bang,
01:31:06.820 bang,
01:31:07.060 beaver gang,
01:31:07.740 build the dam 10 feet higher.
01:31:09.600 Uh,
01:31:09.900 yes.
01:31:10.200 Uh,
01:31:10.480 Jay Burden's,
01:31:11.220 uh,
01:31:11.800 you know,
01:31:12.080 beaver gang is with us
01:31:13.100 even when he is not.
01:31:14.860 let's see here.
01:31:19.760 Uh,
01:31:20.480 simpler says,
01:31:21.100 Dittman isn't Musk,
01:31:22.340 but same circles.
01:31:23.380 And I've seen in those,
01:31:25.100 uh,
01:31:25.520 I've been in those spaces.
01:31:26.820 They're trying to argue
01:31:28.480 immigration is unrelated to DEI
01:31:31.300 and honestly couldn't fathom
01:31:32.760 how they missed that inherent
01:31:34.260 contradiction.
01:31:34.780 Yeah.
01:31:35.320 I don't really know much about
01:31:36.400 Dittman except people are
01:31:37.340 always yelling that he is,
01:31:38.960 uh,
01:31:39.480 Elon Musk on,
01:31:40.600 on different things.
01:31:42.120 Uh,
01:31:42.580 ultimately,
01:31:43.520 uh,
01:31:45.640 uh,
01:31:46.860 ultimately,
01:31:47.860 uh,
01:31:48.880 he,
01:31:49.200 he's really ridiculous.
01:31:50.460 Like he was in a space,
01:31:51.480 just yelling at a bunch of
01:31:52.600 people,
01:31:53.000 calling them all racist.
01:31:54.740 Um,
01:31:55.500 I,
01:31:56.360 again,
01:31:56.480 I don't know much about him
01:31:57.460 in particular,
01:31:57.960 but if,
01:31:58.640 if he is reflective of Musk's,
01:32:00.540 uh,
01:32:01.240 kind of outlook,
01:32:01.980 which a lot of people says he is,
01:32:03.460 then that that's not great,
01:32:04.580 but I just don't know enough
01:32:06.220 to comment on that.
01:32:09.260 Uh,
01:32:09.660 life of Brian says,
01:32:10.460 uh,
01:32:10.700 tried most moist critical at a pet
01:32:12.680 as a pet name for wife.
01:32:14.240 Uh,
01:32:14.600 she cried,
01:32:15.480 uh,
01:32:16.200 German painter number one for
01:32:18.000 guy for me,
01:32:19.180 turnabout is fair play.
01:32:20.060 I don't understand that post at all,
01:32:21.440 but,
01:32:21.720 uh,
01:32:21.840 I guess,
01:32:22.200 thanks.
01:32:23.180 Sorry.
01:32:23.580 I don't,
01:32:24.300 I don't have the referencing Sam Hyde.
01:32:26.260 Oh,
01:32:26.720 well,
01:32:26.880 yeah.
01:32:27.060 Okay.
01:32:27.340 So yeah,
01:32:27.840 but I didn't get the joke.
01:32:29.100 And like,
01:32:29.620 uh,
01:32:29.780 by the way,
01:32:30.120 guys,
01:32:30.400 Sam Hyde did a absolutely amazing
01:32:32.520 rant on this.
01:32:33.360 Uh,
01:32:33.600 it's like 46 minutes long,
01:32:35.120 but you know,
01:32:36.060 put it on double speed or whatever.
01:32:37.240 It's,
01:32:37.680 it's quite good.
01:32:38.440 We were only hoping to try to
01:32:40.220 approach that level of,
01:32:41.560 uh,
01:32:41.880 of kind of brilliance after he has
01:32:44.280 better,
01:32:44.900 he had better insight in that,
01:32:46.340 uh,
01:32:46.680 in that,
01:32:47.100 uh,
01:32:47.560 you know,
01:32:47.880 comedy sketch than the vast
01:32:49.240 majority of the conservative
01:32:50.480 commentariat.
01:32:51.560 Uh,
01:32:51.960 so,
01:32:52.400 so,
01:32:52.660 yeah,
01:32:52.900 he did a great job,
01:32:53.680 but I did not get all the
01:32:54.520 references.
01:32:54.880 I'm not,
01:32:55.280 I'm not hip enough to the Sam
01:32:56.860 Hyde,
01:32:57.060 Sam Hyde lingo to,
01:32:58.100 to grasp every one of the
01:32:59.200 references there.
01:33:02.360 Uh,
01:33:02.980 Templar says again,
01:33:03.900 biggest contradiction in Musk is
01:33:05.500 that he's,
01:33:06.020 uh,
01:33:06.240 for full automation,
01:33:07.080 but hasn't explained what to do
01:33:08.240 with all the Hindus.
01:33:09.000 Once he replaces them with
01:33:10.160 robots,
01:33:10.640 are we supposed to clean up the
01:33:11.940 mess?
01:33:12.220 Yeah.
01:33:12.380 Again,
01:33:13.020 this is so infuriating,
01:33:14.320 right?
01:33:14.600 We have to bring in millions of
01:33:16.540 illegal immigrants.
01:33:17.360 Why?
01:33:17.700 Well,
01:33:17.880 they're going to do all these
01:33:18.940 jobs that we're planning to
01:33:20.000 automate away anyway.
01:33:21.400 Okay.
01:33:22.120 Well,
01:33:22.380 we got to bring in all these
01:33:23.780 kind of like,
01:33:24.280 uh,
01:33:24.760 middle-class immigrants from
01:33:26.060 Asia and they're going to do 0.96
01:33:27.200 all the jobs Americans want to
01:33:28.460 do.
01:33:28.740 Well,
01:33:28.940 we're trying to automate those
01:33:30.060 away anyway as well.
01:33:32.120 So we're just planning to
01:33:33.300 automate all the jobs for all
01:33:34.560 the immigrants we're bringing 0.50
01:33:35.400 in.
01:33:36.060 What is the end game here?
01:33:37.280 Like you bring in a bunch of 0.99
01:33:38.400 people to replace themselves
01:33:39.480 with AI and then you put them
01:33:40.660 on the dole.
01:33:41.600 You,
01:33:41.900 what they,
01:33:42.500 everyone just becomes like kind
01:33:44.000 of a worthless bum on a UBI. 0.98
01:33:46.820 Like it's an insane plan.
01:33:49.640 It doesn't seem to have a plan.
01:33:51.040 And this is the problem.
01:33:51.920 Like the tech guys are just
01:33:52.940 myopic.
01:33:53.580 Okay.
01:33:53.840 They have to be to get what
01:33:55.280 they want done.
01:33:56.000 Like they're brilliant in a
01:33:57.300 particular area,
01:33:58.040 but they cannot think about the
01:33:59.680 wider picture.
01:34:00.420 They just,
01:34:01.060 they just don't know.
01:34:02.000 And they don't care.
01:34:03.100 Uh,
01:34:03.500 and they have to be made to
01:34:04.520 care.
01:34:04.740 That's really all there is to
01:34:05.900 it.
01:34:06.060 We have to make them care about
01:34:08.160 Americans.
01:34:09.220 And if I can bring economics
01:34:10.840 into this for like 30 seconds,
01:34:12.400 the whole point of building new
01:34:14.640 things like machines,
01:34:15.720 uh,
01:34:16.240 these various different forms of
01:34:17.280 capital tools and whatnot,
01:34:18.500 so that we can do less and
01:34:20.300 focus on other things.
01:34:21.360 That is the whole economic
01:34:22.540 problem.
01:34:24.680 Aspiring for 80 hour work weeks
01:34:26.800 or whatever else is,
01:34:28.540 is completely insane.
01:34:30.020 We want to automate more,
01:34:31.120 but we also want to work you to
01:34:32.300 death more.
01:34:34.200 Yeah.
01:34:34.600 I mean,
01:34:34.860 it's just slave mentality, 0.95
01:34:36.220 right?
01:34:36.580 This is just a straight up slave
01:34:38.020 mentality.
01:34:38.620 Like the only purpose of
01:34:40.560 existence is to work every
01:34:43.060 waking moment of the day.
01:34:45.220 No,
01:34:45.760 actually that's not,
01:34:46.800 not only is that not the
01:34:47.880 purpose of life,
01:34:48.920 it's not even good for
01:34:49.740 productivity.
01:34:50.800 Like it has wildly diminishing
01:34:52.700 returns.
01:34:53.600 And we already talked about the
01:34:54.780 impact that has on creativity
01:34:56.080 and all of these other points of
01:34:57.220 excellence,
01:34:57.780 like,
01:34:58.200 sorry,
01:34:58.660 but memorizing computer code is
01:35:00.880 not the ultimate form of human
01:35:03.260 existence.
01:35:03.880 It does not create happy people.
01:35:06.000 There are a small percentage of
01:35:07.160 people who are good at it and
01:35:08.340 should do it.
01:35:09.000 And then we should all reap the
01:35:10.800 rewards,
01:35:11.200 including them of their work.
01:35:12.960 But the idea that this is the form
01:35:15.280 in which all human existence should
01:35:17.360 take,
01:35:17.780 and that ultimately that this would
01:35:18.900 even be economically advantageous is
01:35:21.940 just wrong on pretty much every
01:35:23.800 level.
01:35:27.160 Uh,
01:35:27.760 creepy weirdo says this is a necessary
01:35:29.060 step to America shifting to the
01:35:30.480 right.
01:35:30.840 That's not cope.
01:35:32.200 It's reality.
01:35:32.960 We have only just begun to move the
01:35:34.500 Overton window.
01:35:35.100 Again,
01:35:35.380 I agree.
01:35:35.820 The fact that this discussion is
01:35:37.720 happening instead of the discussion
01:35:38.980 on illegal immigration,
01:35:40.040 that discussion is over,
01:35:40.880 right?
01:35:41.800 Illegal immigration. 1.00
01:35:42.740 Nobody wants it.
01:35:44.020 Trump needs to take immediate action
01:35:45.320 on it.
01:35:46.380 If we don't get deportations in a 0.98
01:35:47.620 wall,
01:35:48.220 he should be held accountable.
01:35:49.740 A hundred percent.
01:35:50.880 That discussion is over.
01:35:52.220 The only,
01:35:52.940 the discussion now is how much legal
01:35:55.260 immigration should we have? 0.56
01:35:56.280 And that's still a huge issue.
01:35:57.720 But the fact that we've moved from
01:35:59.140 millions and millions of illegals
01:36:01.400 every year to how many hundreds of
01:36:03.680 thousands of people should be here
01:36:04.980 on,
01:36:05.480 you know,
01:36:06.080 work visas or student visas,
01:36:07.500 that is a massive shift.
01:36:09.140 And everyone should appreciate that.
01:36:10.560 Even if this bump in the road is
01:36:12.120 frustrating.
01:36:15.440 Uh,
01:36:16.000 rusty Shackelford says,
01:36:17.140 ask anyone from North Dallas area,
01:36:19.060 how great their new Indian neighbors
01:36:20.840 are.
01:36:21.300 Turns out zero cultural more overlap
01:36:23.320 causes little friction,
01:36:24.660 uh,
01:36:25.360 causes a little friction to put it
01:36:27.500 lightly,
01:36:27.840 but Hey line go up.
01:36:29.460 And again,
01:36:30.120 does the line even ultimately go up?
01:36:32.560 If this is such an amazing hack,
01:36:34.680 then why isn't China doing it?
01:36:36.600 If this is such an amazing way to
01:36:38.320 solve the problem and create a
01:36:39.860 booming tech sector,
01:36:40.940 why isn't Canada creating all these
01:36:43.060 amazing things?
01:36:44.520 Both of them,
01:36:45.360 you know,
01:36:45.600 China has the opportunity to do this.
01:36:47.720 Canada has already done it.
01:36:49.560 How's that working out for everybody?
01:36:52.060 Not great to my,
01:36:53.300 to my knowledge.
01:36:54.080 So I,
01:36:54.700 you know,
01:36:54.980 even the idea that you would throw
01:36:56.760 away the social fabric for economic
01:36:58.660 development seems wrong.
01:37:00.440 Like even that seems incorrect.
01:37:04.380 Uh,
01:37:04.940 Sean Shafer says funny how Vivek or
01:37:06.560 Elon never mentioned who benefits
01:37:08.360 from DEI in the past.
01:37:09.980 Maybe you should build up our native
01:37:11.180 population before,
01:37:12.300 uh,
01:37:13.020 picking up foreign dregs again. 0.78
01:37:15.640 They never referenced this.
01:37:17.160 They never take the time to say,
01:37:19.260 actually there have been a large
01:37:21.040 number of people who are talented,
01:37:22.780 even though we've spent the last
01:37:24.260 decade documenting every one of the
01:37:26.740 ways in which these people have been
01:37:28.060 held back.
01:37:28.640 We're not even going to acknowledge
01:37:30.060 that many people have been,
01:37:32.160 you know,
01:37:32.620 elevated.
01:37:33.200 Let's be honest,
01:37:34.140 right?
01:37:34.360 A lot of the reasons you can hire
01:37:35.960 Indians to do this work is they
01:37:38.320 didn't qualify as white.
01:37:39.580 So they didn't get hit by the DI
01:37:41.300 screen.
01:37:41.960 They could get a relevant amount of
01:37:43.380 work done,
01:37:43.880 a relevant IQ.
01:37:44.620 They could do a good job.
01:37:46.700 And they didn't get hit by the
01:37:47.900 screen that usually gets white males,
01:37:49.860 right?
01:37:50.120 Like this was the reason that in many
01:37:52.760 cases they were brought in to do
01:37:54.160 these jobs.
01:37:54.880 They are already,
01:37:56.020 as you point out there,
01:37:56.900 Sean benefiting from that DEI and
01:37:59.700 pretending that's just not a thing
01:38:00.880 and never mentioning.
01:38:01.740 It was just insane.
01:38:03.000 It's so condescending.
01:38:06.500 You guys feel free to jump in
01:38:07.640 anytime.
01:38:07.980 You don't have to,
01:38:08.440 but I've just let you know,
01:38:09.620 I'm not trying to talk over you.
01:38:10.620 I have nothing more to add.
01:38:11.840 Yeah,
01:38:12.120 I really don't either.
01:38:13.260 I got to get going.
01:38:14.120 No problem.
01:38:15.280 If you guys got to beat feet,
01:38:16.280 no problem.
01:38:16.920 I know this went long.
01:38:17.740 Like I said,
01:38:18.280 I'm just working my way through the
01:38:19.440 super chats here.
01:38:20.620 Tim Miller says,
01:38:23.720 Trump has more H-1B than Obama,
01:38:27.380 by the way.
01:38:28.540 Again,
01:38:28.980 I don't know the total numbers on
01:38:31.140 that.
01:38:31.520 I do know that in 2016,
01:38:33.440 Trump announced from the stage that
01:38:35.060 he thought the H-1B was a bad policy 0.99
01:38:37.720 that he knew that he personally had
01:38:39.700 used it in his,
01:38:41.300 in his own work because he had to do
01:38:44.000 that to stay competitive.
01:38:45.180 But ultimately it was a problem and it
01:38:47.320 was something he wanted to see fixed.
01:38:48.680 We've gotten mixed messages on Trump
01:38:50.740 kind of all over the place on this
01:38:51.980 from owl.
01:38:52.880 We need to restrict legal immigration 1.00
01:38:54.540 to owl staple a diploma to every guy
01:38:57.560 who gets or a green card to every guy
01:38:59.340 who gets a diploma.
01:39:00.980 It's Trump.
01:39:01.820 I mean,
01:39:02.220 ultimately I hope that he does settle
01:39:04.100 down and recognize what people
01:39:05.720 actually want,
01:39:06.580 what his base actually wants.
01:39:07.860 It's extremely important that he
01:39:09.420 listens to them on this issue.
01:39:10.860 That's the reason he was given the
01:39:11.820 mandate.
01:39:12.360 But as Trump is often the case,
01:39:14.960 he kind of wavers around on this.
01:39:16.600 I hope he sticks to his prior
01:39:18.860 commitments to saying HB-1 is bad
01:39:21.000 for the country.
01:39:22.320 Am I incorrect in remembering that
01:39:23.700 he basically eliminated the program
01:39:25.340 during his last term?
01:39:26.940 I'm trying to remember exactly what
01:39:28.700 the numbers are.
01:39:29.220 I don't feel like there was actually
01:39:30.920 an increase,
01:39:31.740 but I don't have it on hand here.
01:39:33.700 So if you want to Google it while
01:39:35.380 we're going through this,
01:39:36.300 we can give a better understanding.
01:39:39.000 I just don't,
01:39:39.520 I didn't have that fact right in front
01:39:41.020 of me.
01:39:42.040 Don't want to,
01:39:42.800 don't want to promise it when I
01:39:43.780 don't know.
01:39:44.180 So let's see here.
01:39:46.940 Capitalismo says it's factually
01:39:48.360 incorrect that American education
01:39:49.600 is bad when compared to the same
01:39:51.580 ethnic populations in other countries.
01:39:53.360 U.S. students perform,
01:39:54.420 outperform consistently.
01:39:56.320 I will agree with you that the
01:39:58.440 students in the United States might
01:39:59.560 outperform in particular comparisons.
01:40:02.480 But again,
01:40:03.380 that widely depends on who we're
01:40:04.980 comparing them against because that's
01:40:06.740 definitely not universally true.
01:40:08.540 But American education is bad.
01:40:10.400 Sorry,
01:40:10.720 I've been in American education.
01:40:12.000 I've taught in public schools.
01:40:13.480 It is bad.
01:40:14.080 It is very bad.
01:40:14.820 If American students are winning, 0.64
01:40:16.860 it's in spite of that education,
01:40:18.420 not because of it.
01:40:21.340 Whenever you find that.
01:40:22.520 If I just,
01:40:23.020 if I just search,
01:40:23.840 I get a lot of very old articles
01:40:25.300 from 2020 of the journalist class
01:40:27.860 freaking out that Trump basically
01:40:29.480 suspended them.
01:40:30.360 But I think it was under the guise of
01:40:32.220 other things happening,
01:40:33.400 which to be fair,
01:40:34.700 I don't care about.
01:40:36.000 So long as it's gone.
01:40:37.960 Yeah.
01:40:38.320 Again,
01:40:38.680 it's one of those scenarios where,
01:40:40.320 you know,
01:40:40.580 if you find harder numbers,
01:40:41.740 that's great.
01:40:42.420 But it's one of the scenarios where
01:40:43.520 often any reduction or,
01:40:45.500 you know,
01:40:45.660 in any,
01:40:46.180 any kind of knock on effects that
01:40:47.700 ended up reducing that would be
01:40:49.400 something the journalists would
01:40:50.380 scream about anyway. 0.52
01:40:51.080 Right.
01:40:51.520 So that's that they're,
01:40:52.560 they're going to be super angry
01:40:53.620 about it no matter what.
01:40:55.140 Right.
01:40:55.640 So I found the canary chirping
01:40:57.260 that it was happening.
01:40:58.740 Right.
01:41:00.000 Adam Kinney said,
01:41:00.960 quote,
01:41:01.320 80 hours,
01:41:02.200 work wheat,
01:41:03.140 quote.
01:41:03.960 Yeah,
01:41:04.120 that's a good point too.
01:41:05.520 As Sam Hyde pointed out in his
01:41:07.540 excellent rant,
01:41:08.420 nobody works 80 hours.
01:41:09.540 That's just not true.
01:41:10.600 And don't get me wrong.
01:41:11.500 Like people work a lot.
01:41:12.520 I work a lot.
01:41:13.940 But I tend to work like through my
01:41:16.180 day.
01:41:16.580 Like I,
01:41:17.140 like I tend,
01:41:18.240 I tend to read a lot of things
01:41:19.660 for the show,
01:41:20.540 even when I'm not technically
01:41:22.000 like on the clock or in a normal
01:41:23.740 work day,
01:41:24.320 because that's just part of my
01:41:25.560 routine.
01:41:25.840 That's kind of how I got where I
01:41:27.160 am.
01:41:27.400 Right.
01:41:27.880 So I'm working off and on,
01:41:29.340 but that means I also leave time
01:41:30.720 for family.
01:41:31.260 I also leave time for friends.
01:41:33.360 I also leave time for church,
01:41:35.100 these kinds of things.
01:41:35.720 Like it's not just that all the
01:41:37.700 time,
01:41:38.000 though I am often working in times
01:41:39.920 that are strange.
01:41:40.920 I certainly,
01:41:41.420 if I logged every minute I was
01:41:42.720 doing something related to my
01:41:44.480 job,
01:41:44.880 it would be probably close to,
01:41:47.140 you know,
01:41:47.380 you know,
01:41:48.100 probably not an 80 hour week,
01:41:49.280 but it would,
01:41:49.580 it would be much over the,
01:41:50.860 you know,
01:41:51.300 40,
01:41:51.600 50 hour week that most people are
01:41:53.740 supposed to work in,
01:41:54.720 in kind of the normal environment.
01:41:56.440 But yeah,
01:41:57.120 the idea that every person who is,
01:41:59.520 you know,
01:42:00.160 doing an 80 hour week is actually
01:42:02.240 working the entire time.
01:42:03.360 Instead of trying to look busy,
01:42:05.140 trying to fill time for much of it
01:42:07.340 so they can boast about how much
01:42:08.820 they've been at the office.
01:42:09.960 That's a misnomer.
01:42:13.060 Let's see.
01:42:14.060 Tim Miller says,
01:42:14.960 I'm not aware of anything good
01:42:16.220 about the PayPal mafia.
01:42:17.960 Again,
01:42:18.320 for people who don't know about
01:42:19.280 that verbiage,
01:42:20.080 that's kind of the collection of
01:42:21.140 Musk and Teal and Sachs and
01:42:23.340 Vivek and a lot of these guys
01:42:25.300 who will kind of attach to this
01:42:27.640 larger sphere of kind of tech
01:42:30.060 billionaires.
01:42:31.340 Again,
01:42:32.040 the fact that Trump is elected at all
01:42:34.220 is probably not in small part
01:42:36.220 to the fact that Elon
01:42:37.880 freed up speech,
01:42:39.080 at least for time,
01:42:39.980 on Twitter
01:42:41.020 and that he gave a large amount
01:42:43.380 of money to Trump.
01:42:44.400 I don't think it can really be
01:42:46.080 undersold,
01:42:47.080 the impact he had
01:42:48.080 in that,
01:42:48.940 you know,
01:42:49.600 in that election.
01:42:50.660 Would Trump have won anyway
01:42:51.820 just due to his momentum
01:42:52.920 and the fact that the American
01:42:53.740 people were sad
01:42:54.820 and done with Kamala Harris
01:42:56.280 and frustrated with everything
01:42:57.840 the Democrats have been doing.
01:42:59.480 Entirely possible,
01:43:00.560 but I really don't want to
01:43:01.680 discount their influence here.
01:43:04.160 That doesn't mean they get
01:43:04.740 a free pass on stuff like this.
01:43:06.000 We're doing an entire stream
01:43:06.940 explaining why they're very wrong
01:43:08.580 and they have to understand
01:43:09.720 why they're very wrong.
01:43:10.980 But I also don't want to just
01:43:12.260 make this a one-sided thing
01:43:13.180 where like,
01:43:13.560 oh,
01:43:13.740 well,
01:43:13.860 they've never done anything positive.
01:43:18.340 Tim says,
01:43:19.000 again,
01:43:19.080 this is purely cynical
01:43:20.020 on Musk's part.
01:43:20.960 He worships money
01:43:21.600 and saw an opportunity.
01:43:22.940 He knows he's lying
01:43:23.640 through his teeth.
01:43:24.600 He wants cheap labor,
01:43:25.800 full stop.
01:43:26.380 Again,
01:43:26.660 I'm not going to disagree
01:43:27.540 with you necessarily on that,
01:43:29.180 though I will say,
01:43:30.280 as you know,
01:43:31.280 he is a thorough,
01:43:32.960 you know,
01:43:33.240 kind of wild autist.
01:43:35.140 Once he like says
01:43:36.180 something out loud,
01:43:36.960 especially a guy
01:43:37.500 who never hears
01:43:38.300 he's wrong probably
01:43:39.140 and expects to like
01:43:40.840 constantly get adulation
01:43:41.920 and hates it
01:43:42.460 when the crowd
01:43:43.000 disagrees with him,
01:43:44.580 I think he might have
01:43:45.500 just kind of flown off
01:43:46.420 the handle
01:43:46.820 and dug in deeper
01:43:47.860 than he probably should have here.
01:43:48.840 He has walked back
01:43:49.740 some of this.
01:43:50.580 He has said that,
01:43:51.540 yes,
01:43:51.740 we do ultimately need
01:43:52.700 to kind of raise
01:43:53.740 the ceiling on H1Bs 1.00
01:43:56.120 to make sure that it's,
01:43:57.080 or raise the floor rather,
01:43:58.320 to make sure
01:43:58.940 that it's not being abused.
01:44:01.220 It's not enough.
01:44:02.080 He needs to say more.
01:44:03.380 I don't think that it's okay
01:44:04.960 the way he spoke with people
01:44:06.640 and the way he disregarded
01:44:07.940 people's opinions,
01:44:08.680 but I'm not fully ready
01:44:10.880 to burn that bridge
01:44:11.600 in the way that some people are.
01:44:13.560 Yeah,
01:44:13.700 and this is also something
01:44:15.320 that especially people
01:44:17.360 on the dissident sphere
01:44:18.560 of things has to keep in mind.
01:44:20.140 If we are going to drive
01:44:21.220 the narrative,
01:44:21.760 we need to know
01:44:22.240 for what end.
01:44:23.440 Just by driving the narrative,
01:44:24.840 you aren't going to achieve
01:44:25.820 everything that you want
01:44:26.800 immediately.
01:44:27.480 You're going to have to
01:44:28.200 play around with coalitions.
01:44:29.440 You're going to have to
01:44:30.200 understand that,
01:44:31.400 you know,
01:44:31.640 maybe Elon can redeem himself.
01:44:34.300 It's very possible.
01:44:35.380 It would be very beneficial
01:44:36.220 to us if he was on side.
01:44:38.320 Just because he had
01:44:39.440 an absolutely terrible opinion
01:44:41.620 about immigration,
01:44:42.640 something that he's not
01:44:43.340 even in charge of,
01:44:44.480 doesn't mean that you just
01:44:45.340 have to throw him 0.98
01:44:46.440 to the wolves immediately.
01:44:48.500 Right.
01:44:50.760 Just a little bit
01:44:51.540 of discipline,
01:44:52.060 guys.
01:44:52.680 Just,
01:44:52.840 we don't,
01:44:53.520 remember,
01:44:54.620 speaking of Aristotle,
01:44:56.340 emotional continence
01:44:57.400 was one of his things,
01:44:59.520 right?
01:44:59.880 We get passionate,
01:45:00.880 I get passionate,
01:45:01.740 right?
01:45:02.240 It's okay
01:45:02.920 to be passionate moments,
01:45:04.480 but ultimately,
01:45:05.060 you should not be ruled
01:45:05.980 by those emotions.
01:45:06.740 You should be able
01:45:07.300 to make wise moves.
01:45:08.660 You should be able
01:45:08.960 to look into the future
01:45:09.980 and make a plan
01:45:11.280 and control yourself
01:45:12.820 in certain situations.
01:45:13.860 This is one place
01:45:15.680 to practice that
01:45:16.520 a little bit.
01:45:17.520 Elon didn't have it
01:45:18.340 and that's why
01:45:19.020 he's in trouble.
01:45:19.760 Don't make the same mistake.
01:45:21.700 JGJ says,
01:45:22.620 what about a hiring moratorium
01:45:24.060 on requiring college degrees
01:45:25.700 in tech fields
01:45:26.380 for those who stopped
01:45:27.200 going to school
01:45:27.860 after COVID restrictions?
01:45:29.840 Again,
01:45:30.320 I'm not sure
01:45:30.800 how you would impose
01:45:31.820 that on all
01:45:33.140 businesses.
01:45:35.280 I think ultimately
01:45:36.220 we need to move away
01:45:37.220 from the college degree system,
01:45:39.540 especially in tech fields
01:45:40.600 in which certifications
01:45:41.540 already exist
01:45:42.360 and you don't actually
01:45:43.440 need the degree system
01:45:44.740 in a lot of ways
01:45:45.540 because you have
01:45:46.900 all these independent
01:45:47.740 certifications people
01:45:48.540 can take without needing
01:45:49.320 to take a single
01:45:50.620 college course.
01:45:52.060 I really don't see
01:45:52.800 why anyone needs
01:45:53.720 a college degree
01:45:54.260 to work in a computer field
01:45:55.760 at this point,
01:45:56.420 a tech field,
01:45:57.200 when so many of these
01:45:58.460 things can just be done
01:45:59.540 through certification.
01:46:01.000 So I do think
01:46:01.460 we need alternatives,
01:46:02.160 but I'm not sure
01:46:03.160 how you could ban it
01:46:04.000 right away.
01:46:05.000 Right,
01:46:05.160 and this is yesterday.
01:46:06.480 The governor of Oklahoma
01:46:07.600 had a program
01:46:08.340 that he announced
01:46:08.940 where he really wanted
01:46:10.560 high school diplomas
01:46:11.860 to only be awarded
01:46:12.680 if students got accepted
01:46:13.860 into some university
01:46:15.160 or university equivalent
01:46:16.300 or joined the military.
01:46:18.460 And this is,
01:46:19.280 if it was to actually
01:46:20.760 go through,
01:46:21.140 and I don't think
01:46:21.580 it would ever,
01:46:23.080 all this is doing
01:46:24.640 is it's just subsidizing
01:46:25.680 the college system,
01:46:26.540 at least in this one state,
01:46:27.660 which has three-something
01:46:29.620 million people.
01:46:30.700 It's quite a lot.
01:46:32.600 The college system
01:46:33.660 is only being held up
01:46:35.000 by subsidy at this point.
01:46:36.260 If you took away
01:46:38.160 all legal benefits
01:46:39.900 that the college system
01:46:40.700 received,
01:46:41.200 be it money
01:46:41.760 or special preference
01:46:43.380 or whatever else
01:46:44.140 and all these other things,
01:46:46.260 the college system
01:46:47.080 would just collapse.
01:46:48.560 No one,
01:46:48.940 no one actually,
01:46:49.920 businessmen don't
01:46:51.200 attach value
01:46:52.440 to the college degrees
01:46:53.480 at this point anymore.
01:46:56.740 Matt Grenier says,
01:46:57.760 I find it really difficult
01:46:59.340 not to hate Musk
01:47:00.220 for his stance.
01:47:01.320 I don't want to hate him,
01:47:02.880 but it's an important issue.
01:47:03.900 So no matter how much
01:47:05.140 people on X
01:47:05.640 try to minimize the issue
01:47:06.520 and pretend it's not,
01:47:07.840 it's just a policy difference.
01:47:09.340 Again,
01:47:09.800 I'm with you
01:47:11.200 that Elon's response here
01:47:13.220 was really disrespectful.
01:47:16.400 I think that
01:47:17.240 if he had any level
01:47:18.920 of discipline on this issue,
01:47:20.280 if he wants to be a leader,
01:47:21.840 then he needs to be a leader,
01:47:23.840 right?
01:47:24.160 If,
01:47:24.520 again,
01:47:25.040 I'm just going to steal
01:47:26.060 from Sam Hyde here.
01:47:27.140 If you,
01:47:27.760 if you wanted to be shit,
01:47:29.200 if you just wanted to sit down
01:47:30.820 and shut up 0.99
01:47:31.600 and be a CEO,
01:47:33.200 you could do that.
01:47:34.760 Elon has the ability
01:47:35.800 to do that.
01:47:36.280 There are plenty of guys
01:47:37.040 who just sit
01:47:37.980 on tens of billions of dollars
01:47:39.660 and never say a word in public
01:47:41.400 and just make their money
01:47:42.800 and move on.
01:47:43.940 But Elon wants to be
01:47:45.680 in the fight.
01:47:47.120 He wants to be
01:47:48.020 in the Coliseum.
01:47:49.280 He wants to hear the crowd roar.
01:47:50.820 It's very obvious
01:47:52.220 whether that's a good trait
01:47:53.360 or a bad trait
01:47:54.180 ultimately about Elon
01:47:55.500 that that is who he is.
01:47:56.900 He wants to be a leader
01:47:58.640 that there's a,
01:47:59.700 there's a reason
01:48:00.420 he's in this position
01:48:01.600 and he's given himself
01:48:02.880 the public face
01:48:03.660 that he has.
01:48:04.940 If he's going to do that,
01:48:06.240 he has to learn
01:48:07.460 to listen and respect.
01:48:08.940 He has to learn.
01:48:10.260 If you want,
01:48:11.140 you want to be the king,
01:48:12.120 you want to be the,
01:48:12.660 the Yarvin King CEO.
01:48:14.740 Great.
01:48:15.180 The first thing a king
01:48:16.740 needs to learn to do
01:48:18.340 is be able to listen to
01:48:20.580 and assess
01:48:22.180 the well-being of his people.
01:48:23.640 That doesn't mean
01:48:23.920 you have to do everything
01:48:24.840 they say.
01:48:25.640 You're still a leader,
01:48:26.680 but you have to be able
01:48:28.380 to show concern.
01:48:29.400 You have to show compassion.
01:48:30.700 You have to show
01:48:31.720 that you care about
01:48:33.240 what these people care about.
01:48:34.400 If Elon had gone out
01:48:35.760 of his way
01:48:36.360 to say,
01:48:37.120 we are going to
01:48:38.400 guarantee deportations,
01:48:40.020 I'm going to,
01:48:40.300 I'm going to,
01:48:40.720 I'm going to make sure
01:48:41.460 that every single person
01:48:42.840 who opposes deportations
01:48:44.000 is primaried.
01:48:45.180 I am going to create
01:48:46.560 private firms
01:48:47.780 that will help
01:48:48.360 to facilitate this technology
01:48:50.540 that will make it easier
01:48:51.460 to make it happen.
01:48:52.520 I am going to push
01:48:53.480 to make sure
01:48:54.080 that the border is secure
01:48:55.480 immediately upon me entering.
01:48:57.440 I'm going to reform
01:48:58.520 the H-1B system
01:49:00.000 until it is not punishing
01:49:01.820 American workers.
01:49:03.400 And then you said,
01:49:04.480 and by the way, guys,
01:49:05.460 I need some more people
01:49:06.780 for my tech.
01:49:08.340 That would have been different,
01:49:09.740 right?
01:49:09.940 That was a,
01:49:10.440 that would be
01:49:10.680 a different conversation
01:49:11.720 because they would be,
01:49:13.120 I would have shown you,
01:49:14.180 hey, I care about you,
01:49:15.140 by the way,
01:49:15.580 I'm investing money.
01:49:17.160 I'm starting this program
01:49:18.280 to jumpstart
01:49:19.160 the American worker
01:49:20.460 and make sure
01:49:21.100 that they can do the jobs
01:49:22.140 I need them to do.
01:49:22.940 But while I wait
01:49:24.020 for that pipeline
01:49:24.780 to fill up,
01:49:25.800 I need X number of people
01:49:27.700 to make my SpaceX thing work.
01:49:30.740 That's a very different conversation,
01:49:32.500 but he didn't do that.
01:49:34.020 He just went directly
01:49:35.160 to attacking people
01:49:36.060 and insulting people.
01:49:37.400 That's a huge mistake.
01:49:40.060 Cherub Cow says, 0.90
01:49:41.060 Elon accidentally
01:49:42.200 speed running
01:49:42.840 through Dune's
01:49:44.380 20 Titans
01:49:46.160 Cymec dystopia 0.97
01:49:47.900 to the Butlerian Jihad.
01:49:50.240 Is he going to put
01:49:50.760 his brain in the jar?
01:49:51.840 For people who don't know,
01:49:52.820 this is the off-off
01:49:55.020 brand novels of Dune.
01:49:57.400 I'm such a Dune fanatic
01:49:58.700 that I have read
01:49:59.300 most of them,
01:50:00.000 even though they're
01:50:00.580 not great uniformly.
01:50:03.480 I am familiar
01:50:04.280 with the storyline
01:50:04.920 he's discussing.
01:50:06.780 But yes,
01:50:07.500 thank you,
01:50:07.880 Cherub Cow,
01:50:08.320 for that obscure Dune reference
01:50:09.780 that even people
01:50:10.760 who have seen both movies
01:50:11.800 will have no clue about.
01:50:14.740 Let's see here.
01:50:17.060 TadM123 says,
01:50:17.840 Hey guys,
01:50:18.760 from each of your perspective,
01:50:20.500 it's not an H-1B
01:50:21.920 or legal immigration.
01:50:23.340 How would we solve
01:50:24.200 the replacement crisis
01:50:25.120 in the short term?
01:50:26.940 Thanks.
01:50:27.320 I'm confused with that.
01:50:32.280 I mean,
01:50:32.680 I'm assuming he's talking
01:50:33.740 about fertility
01:50:34.540 replacement rate
01:50:36.140 and all of that,
01:50:36.740 which...
01:50:37.340 Without an H-1B? 0.64
01:50:38.620 I'm not sure how that is.
01:50:39.880 I think that's actually
01:50:40.500 causing the problem,
01:50:41.480 but go ahead.
01:50:42.380 Right.
01:50:43.120 Right,
01:50:43.360 and there's plenty
01:50:44.740 of evidence for that,
01:50:45.560 but I think the framing
01:50:46.440 here for the question
01:50:47.240 is itself flawed.
01:50:49.140 You don't solve
01:50:51.380 fertility rates
01:50:53.140 or replacement rates
01:50:54.000 among the people
01:50:54.680 by importing
01:50:55.540 a completely new people.
01:50:57.560 This is like saying,
01:50:58.520 how are we going to
01:50:59.640 repair something,
01:51:01.120 repair a piece of furniture?
01:51:02.640 Oh, I know,
01:51:03.200 we'll purchase new furniture
01:51:04.700 and just replace it.
01:51:05.660 You didn't repair
01:51:06.740 the furniture
01:51:07.340 that was already there.
01:51:09.340 Don't take that
01:51:10.480 explanation
01:51:11.660 to its logical conclusions.
01:51:13.320 I was just using that
01:51:14.240 to illustrate
01:51:14.840 what we're doing here.
01:51:16.400 You don't...
01:51:17.040 We aren't concerned
01:51:18.940 with the American
01:51:19.780 economic zone
01:51:20.820 reaching a certain
01:51:21.880 rate of fertility
01:51:23.580 so that it replaces itself.
01:51:25.220 What we are concerned
01:51:26.100 with is the actual
01:51:27.020 Americans,
01:51:27.880 the American nation,
01:51:29.600 reaching a replacement
01:51:31.120 rate so that they
01:51:32.060 can continue to thrive
01:51:33.280 throughout generations
01:51:34.380 like they have
01:51:35.020 for the last dozens.
01:51:37.200 This is the actual
01:51:38.460 question,
01:51:39.920 and in order to do that,
01:51:40.980 it seems like a lot
01:51:42.300 of the policies
01:51:42.860 from the last century
01:51:43.700 will have to be reversed.
01:51:46.000 Women should probably 1.00
01:51:47.300 not be going out
01:51:48.880 to work
01:51:49.320 and focusing on working.
01:51:51.880 Contraception
01:51:52.320 should be condemned
01:51:53.020 by the churches
01:51:53.660 once again,
01:51:54.580 and this isn't
01:51:55.240 a recent thing.
01:51:55.960 It's also not
01:51:56.500 a Roman Catholic thing
01:51:57.540 either.
01:51:58.300 All of the Protestant 1.00
01:51:59.140 churches strongly
01:52:01.600 condemned contraception
01:52:03.160 until about the 1950s.
01:52:05.020 Even the Anglicans
01:52:05.960 who were accused
01:52:07.100 of legalizing it,
01:52:08.960 if you will,
01:52:09.700 even they condemned it
01:52:10.940 for everyone
01:52:11.860 except the infertile 0.94
01:52:13.660 or people
01:52:14.720 for which fertility
01:52:15.920 would cause
01:52:16.440 some sort of
01:52:16.940 drastic health issue.
01:52:18.840 Even they kept
01:52:20.000 that position
01:52:20.520 from the 1930s
01:52:21.660 onwards.
01:52:22.760 If you actually
01:52:24.020 did solve
01:52:24.600 these two things,
01:52:25.420 I'm certain
01:52:26.120 that you would see
01:52:27.000 that the American nation
01:52:28.360 would have
01:52:29.560 larger families again,
01:52:31.080 and they would probably
01:52:32.000 be much happier
01:52:32.700 for it.
01:52:33.180 They would be
01:52:33.700 more invested
01:52:34.840 in everything
01:52:35.920 around them.
01:52:36.520 Yeah,
01:52:38.100 ultimately,
01:52:38.560 I don't know
01:52:39.060 if those genies 0.94
01:52:40.200 go back into bottles,
01:52:41.660 especially on the
01:52:43.420 contraception one, 0.86
01:52:44.440 but I will say this.
01:52:45.820 It certainly
01:52:46.500 doesn't get solved
01:52:47.540 by making sure
01:52:48.540 that people
01:52:49.880 who do
01:52:50.260 form families
01:52:51.040 or attempting
01:52:51.640 to form families
01:52:52.300 can't find jobs,
01:52:53.900 that they can't find
01:52:54.980 neighborhoods
01:52:55.320 in which their children
01:52:56.240 feel safe.
01:52:57.380 If you want people
01:52:58.420 to care about reproducing,
01:52:59.980 you have to give them
01:53:00.800 the future.
01:53:01.220 You have to give them
01:53:02.820 something that is
01:53:05.100 worth carrying
01:53:05.800 beyond themselves.
01:53:07.280 People have kids,
01:53:09.040 yes,
01:53:09.640 due to rhythms of life,
01:53:11.420 as you pointed out,
01:53:12.620 but they also have kids
01:53:13.540 because they want
01:53:14.600 to carry on
01:53:15.340 something about
01:53:15.980 the existence
01:53:16.480 they have now.
01:53:17.760 And if your entire
01:53:18.540 way to fix this
01:53:21.340 is basically
01:53:21.880 replace the existence
01:53:22.740 they have now
01:53:23.520 just to fill up
01:53:24.700 the raw numbers
01:53:25.620 of human beings
01:53:26.500 in the economic zone,
01:53:27.920 then as Ryan
01:53:28.640 kind of pointed out there,
01:53:30.340 you're missing
01:53:30.720 the point.
01:53:33.560 Michael Robertson
01:53:34.520 says,
01:53:34.840 it's funny that
01:53:35.460 the immigration question
01:53:36.420 abbreviates down
01:53:37.360 to the IQ,
01:53:39.280 which is also interesting
01:53:40.360 because Vivek
01:53:40.920 specifically said
01:53:41.660 that wasn't the problem.
01:53:43.220 It's a culture problem,
01:53:44.420 but all we need
01:53:45.020 is his culture,
01:53:45.680 I suppose.
01:53:49.180 Deitzel says,
01:53:50.300 writing my first
01:53:51.160 at Super Chat
01:53:54.340 just to say
01:53:54.860 that James Lizzie
01:53:55.560 must be banished
01:53:56.400 to the Three Shadows realm.
01:53:59.360 James,
01:54:00.840 I think,
01:54:01.240 has,
01:54:02.020 well,
01:54:02.360 I don't want to spend
01:54:03.020 a lot of time on that.
01:54:03.800 Let's just say
01:54:04.380 his Twitter feed
01:54:05.360 speaks for itself
01:54:06.120 at this point.
01:54:07.780 Life of Brian
01:54:08.620 says,
01:54:09.120 the tech lords
01:54:09.780 speedrunning
01:54:10.540 the neocon purges
01:54:11.680 of the 80s,
01:54:13.100 but are so politically
01:54:15.100 enough
01:54:15.560 that they link
01:54:16.220 Lindsay
01:54:16.660 to the guy
01:54:17.660 for the job.
01:54:20.760 Speedrunning
01:54:21.180 the neocon purges.
01:54:21.800 Yeah,
01:54:22.280 the fact that
01:54:22.860 they think
01:54:23.160 that he's going
01:54:23.640 to be like
01:54:23.980 the Buckley-ite 0.90
01:54:24.760 guy who kind
01:54:25.760 of runs
01:54:26.560 everybody out
01:54:27.220 of town
01:54:27.700 is pretty hilarious.
01:54:29.940 Actually,
01:54:30.280 I think they
01:54:30.840 don't think
01:54:31.380 that anymore.
01:54:32.500 Again,
01:54:33.000 I don't want
01:54:33.320 to spend
01:54:33.500 a lot of time
01:54:34.020 on this,
01:54:34.480 but some
01:54:35.080 prominent people
01:54:35.640 stepped in
01:54:36.300 and kind of
01:54:37.040 were trying
01:54:37.560 to put the
01:54:37.860 kibosh 0.68
01:54:38.380 on the
01:54:39.160 woke right stuff.
01:54:40.080 I think it's
01:54:40.560 pretty clear
01:54:41.200 even to a lot
01:54:42.340 of mainstream
01:54:42.820 people that
01:54:43.560 this has gone
01:54:44.100 too far
01:54:44.600 and it's just
01:54:45.140 making the people
01:54:46.840 who kind of
01:54:47.240 want to control
01:54:47.980 the conversation
01:54:48.600 look bad.
01:54:49.680 It's such a
01:54:50.280 terrible tactic
01:54:50.960 and so I
01:54:51.680 think
01:54:52.080 he's getting
01:54:54.920 the old
01:54:55.340 cane off the
01:54:56.000 stage.
01:54:56.560 Let's put it
01:54:56.960 that way,
01:54:57.280 I feel like.
01:54:58.840 Skeptical Panda
01:54:59.600 says,
01:55:00.040 I got here,
01:55:00.940 I just got here,
01:55:02.040 but happy new
01:55:02.620 year,
01:55:03.100 Oren and the
01:55:03.580 panel.
01:55:04.220 Guess we made
01:55:04.820 some good
01:55:05.200 progress in
01:55:05.940 2024 and I
01:55:07.420 think we'll
01:55:07.760 continue to win
01:55:08.580 or we'll be
01:55:09.220 winning in 2025.
01:55:10.380 Well,
01:55:10.500 thank you very
01:55:10.860 much,
01:55:11.140 man.
01:55:11.620 I appreciate
01:55:12.200 that.
01:55:13.000 A happy new
01:55:13.680 year to you
01:55:14.380 and to the
01:55:15.140 rest of the
01:55:15.500 audience.
01:55:16.560 Really great.
01:55:17.260 I appreciate
01:55:17.640 once again,
01:55:18.420 all you guys
01:55:19.040 kind of making
01:55:19.540 this possible.
01:55:20.240 We would
01:55:21.160 not be able
01:55:21.560 to do this
01:55:22.060 without you
01:55:22.700 and so
01:55:23.660 just hope
01:55:24.640 everybody
01:55:25.180 stays cautiously
01:55:27.720 optimistic but
01:55:28.860 stays optimistic.
01:55:30.240 It's about
01:55:31.120 once again,
01:55:32.760 bettering your
01:55:33.660 life,
01:55:34.120 bettering your
01:55:34.420 family's life,
01:55:35.260 bettering your
01:55:35.740 community's life.
01:55:37.340 The macro
01:55:37.720 tunes seem to
01:55:38.780 be in our
01:55:39.120 favor for the
01:55:39.840 moment and
01:55:40.500 that's awesome
01:55:41.200 and you should
01:55:41.720 use that momentum
01:55:42.500 to make good
01:55:43.460 things,
01:55:44.120 but don't use
01:55:45.460 that as an
01:55:45.860 excuse to sit
01:55:46.460 on your butt. 0.97
01:55:47.520 Use that new
01:55:48.080 year and make
01:55:49.100 good things.
01:55:50.820 Take the
01:55:51.420 white pill,
01:55:52.220 get stuff
01:55:52.640 done.
01:55:55.480 And Bayes
01:55:56.280 says,
01:55:56.820 in a way,
01:55:57.440 I respect
01:55:57.980 that Musk's
01:55:58.460 initial reaction
01:55:59.140 was to take
01:55:59.760 on all of
01:56:00.500 the internet,
01:56:01.300 already has
01:56:02.100 the left
01:56:02.860 mad at him.
01:56:04.300 Yeah,
01:56:04.780 fair enough.
01:56:05.700 Musk is no
01:56:07.240 shrinking violet,
01:56:08.040 right?
01:56:08.260 He didn't get
01:56:08.720 where he is
01:56:09.240 because he
01:56:10.220 listens to
01:56:10.800 everybody's
01:56:11.320 opinion.
01:56:11.760 He certainly
01:56:12.040 has his own.
01:56:12.800 He defends
01:56:13.180 it strongly,
01:56:13.740 but he's
01:56:15.560 not a
01:56:15.840 statesman,
01:56:16.920 you know,
01:56:17.520 and that's
01:56:18.360 just the
01:56:19.200 long and
01:56:19.660 the short
01:56:19.920 of it.
01:56:21.060 He's a
01:56:21.640 valuable asset,
01:56:22.580 but he is
01:56:23.640 not a
01:56:23.940 statesman,
01:56:24.480 and if he
01:56:25.100 wants to
01:56:25.560 stay in
01:56:25.920 the public
01:56:26.460 light and
01:56:26.860 have that
01:56:27.260 kind of
01:56:27.500 leadership
01:56:27.760 role that
01:56:28.220 he seems
01:56:28.580 to aspire
01:56:29.000 to,
01:56:29.360 he's going
01:56:29.880 to need
01:56:30.100 to build
01:56:30.360 those skills.
01:56:33.300 And then
01:56:33.920 Flame Tiger
01:56:34.360 says,
01:56:34.720 as a son
01:56:35.160 of two
01:56:35.420 Nigerian
01:56:35.900 immigrants,
01:56:36.680 I still
01:56:37.100 am against
01:56:38.420 mass
01:56:38.980 immigration.
01:56:40.180 Nations are 0.94
01:56:40.880 home for
01:56:41.900 a specific
01:56:42.380 people of
01:56:42.980 a specific
01:56:43.400 history,
01:56:43.820 culture,
01:56:44.540 and ancestry,
01:56:45.160 not a sports
01:56:45.620 team or an
01:56:46.280 economic zone.
01:56:47.020 Exactly.
01:56:47.820 Again,
01:56:48.800 even Hispanic
01:56:49.620 voters came
01:56:50.840 out strongly
01:56:51.540 in favor of
01:56:52.500 Trump,
01:56:53.260 or at least
01:56:53.820 we saw big
01:56:54.380 gains for
01:56:55.060 Trump in
01:56:55.820 those areas
01:56:56.220 because they
01:56:57.200 moved here
01:56:57.900 for a reason.
01:56:58.800 Now,
01:56:59.100 some of them
01:56:59.500 are going to
01:56:59.680 have to go
01:56:59.960 back because
01:57:00.400 they moved
01:57:00.660 here illegally,
01:57:01.560 but the
01:57:01.840 point is,
01:57:02.360 even the
01:57:02.740 people who
01:57:03.220 were here
01:57:03.940 wanted a
01:57:05.160 specific type
01:57:06.160 of America.
01:57:07.220 They saw
01:57:07.540 America as
01:57:08.080 a place with
01:57:08.660 a type of
01:57:09.580 culture that
01:57:10.380 they wanted
01:57:10.820 to be
01:57:11.120 involved in,
01:57:11.740 the ones
01:57:11.980 that do
01:57:12.300 actually want
01:57:12.900 to integrate,
01:57:13.760 that do
01:57:13.980 actually want
01:57:14.700 to be
01:57:15.160 involved and
01:57:15.820 become part
01:57:16.480 of this.
01:57:17.740 The assimilation 0.96
01:57:18.660 requires that
01:57:19.540 you actually
01:57:20.120 love the
01:57:20.920 people who
01:57:21.380 made the
01:57:21.900 country,
01:57:22.520 the culture
01:57:22.980 they created
01:57:23.720 to the degree
01:57:24.680 which that
01:57:25.320 can occur.
01:57:26.600 You can have
01:57:27.320 some people
01:57:28.140 join,
01:57:28.700 but if you
01:57:29.240 have mass
01:57:29.740 immigration,
01:57:30.160 you will never
01:57:30.980 get any
01:57:31.580 level of
01:57:32.020 assimilation
01:57:32.560 because you
01:57:33.240 will be
01:57:33.540 creating
01:57:34.020 diasporas
01:57:34.820 that just
01:57:35.520 combat each
01:57:36.280 other for
01:57:36.620 interest inside
01:57:37.540 the nation.
01:57:38.120 You will never
01:57:38.580 have that
01:57:39.420 moment of being
01:57:40.420 able to come
01:57:40.940 together because
01:57:41.540 you are
01:57:41.820 specifically
01:57:42.280 creating a
01:57:42.960 scenario where
01:57:43.720 people can
01:57:44.220 sit in little
01:57:45.060 communities,
01:57:45.800 speak the same
01:57:46.460 language that
01:57:47.040 they always
01:57:47.420 have, have
01:57:47.920 the same
01:57:48.220 culture they
01:57:48.620 always have,
01:57:49.520 hire each
01:57:50.440 other with a
01:57:51.020 bunch of
01:57:51.320 nepotism,
01:57:51.920 ethnic nepotism 0.93
01:57:52.920 inside the
01:57:53.780 country, and
01:57:54.860 you just never
01:57:55.820 get this
01:57:56.280 assimilation to
01:57:56.960 the American
01:57:57.320 way of life.
01:57:57.840 All right,
01:58:01.060 guys, we're
01:58:01.580 going to wrap
01:58:02.000 this up.
01:58:02.400 Anything else
01:58:02.860 before we go,
01:58:03.520 Ryan?
01:58:03.720 We finally
01:58:04.020 made it through
01:58:04.360 all the
01:58:04.540 Super Chats. 0.91
01:58:05.400 I think that
01:58:06.040 I've said
01:58:06.440 everything I
01:58:06.960 need to,
01:58:07.380 just make
01:58:08.020 sure to go
01:58:08.400 check out
01:58:08.820 the Old
01:58:09.180 Glory Club.
01:58:10.760 That's the
01:58:11.240 most important
01:58:11.760 thing.
01:58:12.800 Absolutely,
01:58:13.360 guys, make
01:58:13.720 sure you're
01:58:14.120 checking out
01:58:14.580 the Old
01:58:14.880 Glory Club.
01:58:15.620 Again, if
01:58:16.020 it's your
01:58:16.300 first time on
01:58:16.920 this channel,
01:58:17.500 make sure that
01:58:17.940 you go ahead
01:58:18.260 and subscribe.
01:58:19.000 If you want
01:58:19.420 to be able to
01:58:19.940 catch these
01:58:20.480 streams live,
01:58:21.080 you've got to
01:58:21.360 click the bell,
01:58:21.840 turn on the
01:58:22.200 notifications,
01:58:22.880 all of that
01:58:23.440 stuff.
01:58:23.800 If you
01:58:24.600 would like
01:58:25.120 to pick
01:58:25.520 up my
