00:00:30.000 A recent New York Times report revealed that the Democratic Party is marshalling its donor class
00:00:42.500 in an effort to return to cultural dominance.
00:00:45.220 The popular progressive narrative after the 2024 election has been that Kamala Harris didn't lose
00:00:51.100 because she's a uniquely unlikable candidate with deeply unpopular positions.
00:00:55.360 No, no, no. It's because Joe Rogan had a podcast.
00:00:58.980 The left's obsession with the role of the podcast sphere in the last election has led them to
00:01:05.520 consider 26 different projects that would cost tens of millions of dollars to buy back the
00:01:12.040 cultural influence that they lost.
00:01:14.240 The problem with this strategy is that progressives can't buy the one thing they lack most, authenticity.
00:01:19.880 When politics becomes your religion, every policy is an article of faith, and abandoning that faith
00:01:26.620 makes you an apostate.
00:01:28.260 The 2024 election was a disaster for progressives, and the common logic of democracy would normally
00:01:34.640 dictate a correction away from leftist insanity and towards more popular policies.
00:01:40.660 But Democrats are incapable of this correction because wokeness was not a simple set of politically
00:01:46.260 useful positions. It became their political theology.
00:01:49.720 Some voices suggested a return to the economic populism of Bernie Sanders, but they've been
00:01:55.920 shouted down. The Democratic Party intends to double down on wokeness, and can only blame
00:02:01.140 messaging for their stunning defeats.
00:02:03.560 For the party leaders, the solution is to launch a Manhattan Project for left-wing social influencers.
00:02:10.360 Progressives recognize that the right seems to dominate new media, and would like to create a
00:02:15.320 similar network of influential personalities. Democratic media consultants endlessly discuss
00:02:20.940 the need to create a left-wing Joe Rogan, the irony being that they already had a left-wing Joe Rogan.
00:02:27.240 His name was Joe Rogan. Leftists recognize the power of culture, but believe the only relevant
00:02:32.820 factors are message discipline and dollars spent, when in reality the problems are central to the
00:02:39.420 Democratic Party's entire belief system.
00:02:41.620 Rogan and other popular podcasters like Tim Dillon or Theo Vaughn are by no means natural
00:02:47.900 conservatives. These men are raunchy comedians who naturally push back against constrictive
00:02:52.780 social norms. While movies like Footloose have installed the image of stuffy conservative
00:02:57.600 fundamentalists, it's become clear that for decades, progressives are the ones that have been
00:03:02.540 enforcing restrictive social dogma. The fact that men like Rogan have been pushed to the right by
00:03:08.280 that censorious hectoring only speaks to how rabid and fundamentalist the leftist social dogma has
00:03:13.980 become.
00:03:14.560 Hey guys, we all need to be taking better care of ourselves, and as I get older, making sure I get
00:03:19.440 the right vitamins and nutrients becomes more and more important. I want to make sure I'm finding
00:03:23.980 the supplements I need without taking a thousand pills or breaking the bank, and that's why I'm
00:03:28.660 letting you know about Fatty 15. Based on over a hundred studies, we know that C15 strengthens our cells
00:03:35.720 and is a key longevity-enhancing nutrient which helps to slow biological aging at the cellular level.
00:03:41.740 In fact, when our cells don't have enough C15, they become fragile and age faster.
00:03:46.960 Thankfully, Fatty 15 repairs age-related damage to cells, protects them from future breakdown,
00:03:52.800 and activates pathways in the body that help regulate our sleep, mood, and natural repair
00:03:57.720 mechanisms that support our overall health. This functionality leads to many exciting benefits.
00:04:02.920 In fact, 72% of Fatty 15 customers report seeing or feeling benefits within 16 weeks, including
00:04:10.180 improved metabolic, liver, and heart health, smoother functioning joints, deeper sleep,
00:04:15.300 and healthier skin and nails. I've added it to my daily supplement routine. Fatty 15 is on a mission
00:04:20.920 to optimize your C15 levels to help you live longer and healthier. You can get an additional 15%
00:04:27.180 off their 90-day subscription starter kit by going to fatty15.com slash oran and using the promo code
00:04:34.380 oran at checkout. That's fatty15.com slash oran. In the New York Times piece, the author cited avoiding
00:04:42.640 the hall monitor mentality as a key goal of these new social influencer projects. That's a good goal
00:04:49.580 and demonstrates a certain level of self-awareness. It's also impossible. The entire identity of the
00:04:55.680 left is that of the lecturing schoolmarm trying to shame rowdy boys into respectable behavior.
00:05:01.380 The greatest joy for the average leftist is to lecture their inferiors in an exasperated yet
00:05:07.000 demeaning tone. This has been a disastrous strategy with men, especially young men, who have fled the
00:05:13.340 party in droves. But the progressives can't stop. The entire purpose of the left is to insult and punish
00:05:19.680 straight white Christian males. It is what binds their coalition together. Asking them to stop is
00:05:25.200 like asking a Christian nationalist to deny Christ as some kind of tactical consideration. They can't
00:05:30.620 do it. It's the core of the ideology. When does fast grocery delivery through Instacart matter most?
00:05:36.380 When your famous grainy mustard potato salad isn't so famous without the grainy mustard? When the
00:05:41.560 barbecue's lit, but there's nothing to grill? When the in-laws decide that, actually, they will stay for
00:05:46.900 dinner. Instacart has all your groceries covered this summer. So download the app and get delivery
00:05:51.920 in as fast as 60 minutes. Plus, enjoy $0 delivery fees on your first three orders. Service fees
00:05:57.980 exclusions and terms apply. Instacart. Groceries that over-deliver. While the podcast sphere is
00:06:04.860 considered more authentic than mainstream media, this has nothing to do with the willingness of
00:06:09.740 Republicans to tell the truth. Mainstream conservative media was just as stilted and disingenuous,
00:06:15.720 which is why so many right-wingers have looked elsewhere. It's not that conservatives intentionally
00:06:21.020 manufactured a more authentic form of mass media. It's that more authentic conversations arose
00:06:26.700 organically in podcast spaces, and the authentic conversations tend to become right-wing. The
00:06:33.020 right is the home of natural order, and when any conversation is allowed to acknowledge reality,
00:06:38.320 it will seem conservative in contrast to our currently highly artificial progressive theater.
00:06:43.640 The GOP could never manufacture the right-wing podcast sphere, though to its great shame,
00:06:49.680 it would never even bother trying. Say what you want about the Democrats' doomed attempt to
00:06:54.080 manufacture cultural relevance, at least they understand its significance. Conservatives only
00:06:59.500 understand the immediate transactional investment in politics, spend money on a candidate to win an
00:07:05.260 election, and get a bill passed. Republicans have a much harder time grasping that owning the culture
00:07:11.500 is a far more profitable political endeavor in the long run. Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter is
00:07:18.280 arguably the most important right-wing political victory of my lifetime, even if it didn't immediately
00:07:24.120 result in the passage of some specific piece of legislation. This is why the podcast sphere feels so
00:07:30.740 authentic, and why no amount of money raised by Democratic megadonors can replace it. The conservative
00:07:36.160 media had no hand in its creation. If they did, it would have been a disaster. The comfortable and
00:07:41.980 controlled conversation conducted by Republicans was just as limp and safe as any progressive outlet.
00:07:48.580 They just had slightly less lecturing about pronouns, but basically the same amount of lecturing about
00:07:52.980 racism. The podcast sphere became right-wing because it was driven by personalities outside the normal
00:07:59.700 media. Comedians, canceled academics, and even rogue cartoonists like Scott Adams. These were not
00:08:05.680 polished television broadcasters trying to squeeze talking points into five-minute segments between
00:08:10.760 commercials. They were people who could no longer do their jobs due to the insanity that had invaded
00:08:16.500 their society and genuinely wanted to discover how we got here and how to solve it. The Democrats'
00:08:23.280 effort to buy cultural relevance will fail, but the Republicans should finally come to understand
00:08:28.800 why their opponents are so worried about losing this critical political tool. Progressives can never
00:08:35.020 fund the new Joe Rogan to reach young white men because they've built their entire party around
00:08:40.300 hating young white men and blaming them for every social ill. For their part, conservatives should
00:08:46.080 finally learn the lesson that culture matters and make deep investments in maintaining their newfound
00:08:51.820 advantage. The GOP could have never manufactured the authentic force of the podcast sphere,
00:08:58.260 but they could fund its cultural expansion. Authentic conversations are a good start, but Americans
00:09:03.980 need to be inspired with art, literature, and music which embraces reality and therefore is inherently
00:09:11.120 right-wing. The left understands that this is the way to long-term victory. It's time for the right to
00:09:17.840 learn the same lesson and leverage their cultural momentum into cultural dominance for generations.
