00:00:00.000 Joe Biden hints his health might stop him from running again for president.
00:00:03.000 The facts are out on, oh, Macron, and they cut against panic.
00:00:07.000 And a Democratic congresswoman who backed to defund the police gets carjacked.
00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:11.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:18.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:24.000 We'll get to all the news in just one moment.
00:00:27.000 First, if you're anything like me, one more headline about the stock market, you might just go crazy because inflation just hit a 29 year high in December.
00:00:34.000 That's the highest in almost three decades.
00:00:36.000 Certain investors are rethinking their portfolio mix.
00:00:39.000 What if I told you You could diversify your portfolio with an alternative asset class many elite people have been quietly putting their money into for centuries.
00:00:46.000 Of course, I'm talking here about blue chip works of art.
00:00:49.000 Price appreciation has outpaced the S&P 500 index from 1995 all the way to 2020.
00:00:54.000 And now there's finally a way to unlock access to that asset class.
00:00:58.000 Many millionaires invest in that without being one with the $1 billion Fintech startup Masterworks.
00:01:04.000 Masterworks.io is giving everyone access to the once-exclusive art market, allowing investors to build a portfolio with paintings from iconic artists like Picasso and Banksy, all at a more affordable price point.
00:01:14.000 You can't afford a Picasso.
00:01:15.000 I hate to break it to you.
00:01:16.000 But what you can afford is like a fraction of a Picasso, which means that you could have an asset class that appreciates heavily in value pretty much every year.
00:01:24.000 They're also giving my listeners priority access to their newest offerings.
00:01:27.000 Get started on your investment journey at masterworks.io slash Ben.
00:01:31.000 Again, that's masterworks.io slash Ben.
00:01:34.000 Before deciding to invest carefully, review the important disclosures at masterworks.io slash disclaimer.
00:01:40.000 Alrighty, so.
00:01:42.000 Joe Biden was interviewed last night about his future.
00:01:47.000 And he sort of let it slip that he is thinking about not running again.
00:01:51.000 So he makes it sound as though it's inevitable that he's going to run again.
00:01:54.000 But his attitude is completely the opposite.
00:01:57.000 His attitude is obviously that he does not want to run again come 2024 because he's just going to be too old.
00:02:02.000 So here it was last night, Joe Biden kind of letting it slip that he is not running in 2024.
00:02:08.000 Do you plan to run for re-election?
00:02:10.000 Yes.
00:02:11.000 But look, I'm a great respecter of fate.
00:02:15.000 Fate has intervened in my life many, many times.
00:02:18.000 If I'm in the health I'm in now, if I'm in good health, then, in fact, I would run again.
00:02:24.000 And if that means a rematch against Donald Trump?
00:02:28.000 You're trying to tempt me now.
00:02:31.000 Sure.
00:02:32.000 Why would I not run against Donald Trump for even the nominee?
00:02:34.000 That would increase the prospect of running.
00:02:38.000 Okay, so, like, the fact that this is a possibility and he's speaking about it, obviously, as a possibility but not a probability, is pretty telling.
00:02:46.000 Right?
00:02:46.000 His language here, yes, but, but, if I'm in bad health, then no.
00:02:52.000 Well, what if it were to be Donald Trump?
00:02:53.000 Well, you're tempting me now.
00:02:54.000 Tempting you to what?
00:02:55.000 Tempting you to what?
00:02:57.000 I mean, when you say that you're tempted to eat a piece of chocolate cake, what you mean is that your default is to not eat the piece of chocolate cake.
00:03:04.000 Right?
00:03:04.000 If someone puts a piece of chocolate cake in front of you and you say, I'm tempted to eat that, what you're saying is I really don't want to eat that, but now you're tempting me to do it.
00:03:11.000 So what Joe Biden is saying there is he really does not want to run again in 2024.
00:03:14.000 He believes he is a one-term president because he is a one-term president, which means that Democrats have to be panicking because look at that bench.
00:03:20.000 That bench is just a disaster area.
00:03:23.000 And the fact that they are tethered to an 80-year-old man who is at a 41% approval rating and unable to come up with any solution for any of the major issues facing his administration, this is a party in deep, deep trouble.
00:03:35.000 If you're Joe Biden, why would you want to run again?
00:03:37.000 Like, seriously.
00:03:38.000 Right now, you go down in history as the guy who defeated Donald Trump.
00:03:40.000 But what happens if you come back in 2024 and Trump clocks you?
00:03:44.000 Which, by the polls, could easily happen.
00:03:47.000 I mean, right now, Donald Trump is running 8 to 10 points ahead of Joe Biden in the national polling.
00:03:51.000 Now, does that mean that that's what the results of the election would be?
00:03:54.000 No.
00:03:54.000 I mean, there were polls during the Obama administration first term that showed Mitt Romney beating Barack Obama.
00:03:59.000 Of course, Obama won re-election.
00:04:01.000 And right now, Donald Trump is benefiting pretty heavily from the fact that the social media companies barred him.
00:04:06.000 The social media companies kicked him off, which means that you really don't see a lot of Donald Trump, which means that 2024 would be a referendum on Joe Biden.
00:04:13.000 See, the way presidential elections work, they're not referenda on the person who wins.
00:04:17.000 They're referenda on the person who loses.
00:04:19.000 Meaning in 2016, that election, according to the media, should have been about Trump.
00:04:23.000 It was not.
00:04:24.000 It was about Hillary.
00:04:25.000 Which is why people did not show up for Hillary in Michigan and Wisconsin.
00:04:27.000 People were just like, nope, not all that interested in Hillary Clinton.
00:04:31.000 Then 2020 was a referendum on Trump.
00:04:32.000 There's not a single human being who voted for Joe Biden because no one cares about Joe Biden because Joe Biden is an inanimate object.
00:04:38.000 Joe Biden is basically a block of wood that is already moldering and termite ridden.
00:04:43.000 The only reason anybody pulled that lever for Joe Biden is because Donald Trump was on the other side of the ballot.
00:04:48.000 Well, come 2024, Joe Biden's been president, which means the referendum is on the doddering old fool who pulled out of Afghanistan so precipitously that he's putting 19 million people in danger of starvation.
00:04:59.000 The President of the United States who somehow was handed a working vaccine and yet has allowed more people to die on his watch than the guy before.
00:05:07.000 The President of the United States who said that he was going to end the pandemic and instead has not.
00:05:10.000 Instead has pushed lockdowns.
00:05:12.000 The President of the United States who was handed the possibility of a massive economic recovery and somehow turned it into a huge inflationary spiral.
00:05:19.000 And a guy who can't even get his own party in line to vote for his world-changing programs to build back better.
00:05:24.000 That guy.
00:05:25.000 So that's a bad race for Joe Biden come 2024.
00:05:29.000 The only hope for Joe Biden, the reason he says this about Trump, is that at least Donald Trump is something the American people have already done a referendum on in 2020.
00:05:36.000 And so there are a lot of Americans who aren't going to switch their votes on Trump, but Joe Biden has to know that 2024 does not look good for him.
00:05:43.000 And so you can see his feeble brain attempting to work here.
00:05:47.000 You can see the gears slipping and then catching here as he realizes that he's supposed to say that he's running in 2024, but he really doesn't want to run in 2024.
00:05:56.000 And again, this should put the Democrats in a state of panic.
00:05:59.000 It really, really should.
00:06:00.000 I mean, when Joe Biden is openly hinting about it, can we ask about his health now?
00:06:03.000 Is that OK?
00:06:03.000 I mean, he's openly hinting that he may not be in the best of health in the next couple of years.
00:06:09.000 We all know this, by the way.
00:06:10.000 This is not a giant shock.
00:06:12.000 The man is an octogenarian.
00:06:14.000 So why exactly would we assume that he's going to be in the shape to run in a couple of years?
00:06:19.000 Now again, take a look at that bench.
00:06:20.000 Kamala Harris is running in the high 20s in approval rating.
00:06:24.000 Pete Buttigieg, whose main qualification for office is that he is gay.
00:06:29.000 That is not a guy who is qualified for office because he was the failed mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who then lost any statewide race he attempted in the state of Indiana.
00:06:39.000 Basically, they took a failed mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who tried to run for president and lost.
00:06:45.000 And they were like, but he's gay, so let's run him for president.
00:06:47.000 Okay, so that's the other part of your man.
00:06:49.000 You got Pete Buttigieg.
00:06:50.000 You got Kamala Harris, who is deeply unpopular and also only the vice president because of her identity group membership, because she's a black woman.
00:07:00.000 And then you have a cast of thousands, who nobody can recognize and nobody knows.
00:07:04.000 So the Democratic Party is in a whole world of hurt.
00:07:07.000 And that world of hurt is going to get worse because they've boxed themselves in on Omicron.
00:07:12.000 Now, here is the thing.
00:07:13.000 If this party had any brains at all, if they had two brain cells to run together, all they would have to do is say that Omicron is actually not only not a bad thing, it's actually kind of a good thing.
00:07:25.000 Because Omicron, in reality, means everyone's going to get Omicron and pretty much no one is going to die.
00:07:31.000 By the stats, we now have good therapeutics that are available for Omicron.
00:07:34.000 The vaccines are basically a guarantee against death and hospitalization even for Omicron.
00:07:42.000 And even if you're unvaxxed, the version of the disease that you're about to get from Omicron is significantly less impactful than Delta.
00:07:50.000 There's news out there.
00:07:50.000 So what Joe Biden should have said in his little speech the other night, he should have come out and he should have said, listen, I know Omicron looks scary by the media coverage, but let me give you the actual stats.
00:07:59.000 According to South African data, this thing is 80% less likely to kill you than Delta, which means that statistically speaking, Omicron is less likely to kill you than the flu.
00:08:08.000 So that means that if you get Omicron, you shouldn't panic.
00:08:13.000 If you start to have severe symptoms, then you should go to the hospital.
00:08:16.000 Otherwise, you should basically stay home if you're sick.
00:08:19.000 If you're asymptomatic, go to work.
00:08:20.000 And that's it.
00:08:22.000 And we're done.
00:08:23.000 Joe Biden could be declaring victory over the virus.
00:08:25.000 He could be saying that thanks to vaccination, we prevented the worst of the death from Delta and from the original variant.
00:08:32.000 And now, thanks to vaccination, even Omicron has been largely blunted.
00:08:36.000 But we're lucky because now everybody's going to get natural immunity from a disease that is extraordinarily unlikely to kill you.
00:08:43.000 And so everybody go back to work.
00:08:45.000 Everybody enjoy your life.
00:08:45.000 Have a wonderful Christmas.
00:08:47.000 He could say that.
00:08:48.000 Instead, he can't.
00:08:49.000 He can't.
00:08:49.000 He's boxed himself in.
00:08:51.000 And here's the thing.
00:08:51.000 It's so easy to say this.
00:08:53.000 It really is.
00:08:53.000 Wall Street Journal data today.
00:08:55.000 New data from Scotland and South Africa suggest people infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus are at a markedly lower risk of hospitalization than those who contracted earlier versions of the virus.
00:09:06.000 Promising signs that immunity as a result of vaccination or prior infection remains effective at warding off severe illness with the fast spreading strain.
00:09:14.000 The findings begin to fill in unknowns about the severity of the disease caused by Omicron, a major variable critical to health authorities around the world as they gauge how to react to the new variant.
00:09:23.000 Scientists are still unsure how the positive findings around hospitalizations will stack up against another major variable, Omicron's much increased transmissibility.
00:09:31.000 Both variables are likely to change depending on local conditions, such as the proportion of the population that has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
00:09:39.000 Jim McMenamin, the Incidence Director for COVID-19 at Public Health Scotland, said this is a qualified good news story.
00:09:44.000 He says a smaller proportion of a much greater number of cases can still mean a lot of people who might experience severe COVID infections that could lead to hospitalization.
00:09:50.000 But at an absolute level, if you get Omicron, your chances of being hospitalized are way lower than they would have been with Delta, whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated.
00:10:00.000 The University of Edinburgh study, drawing on the health records of 5.4 million people in Scotland, found the risk of hospitalization with COVID-19 was two-thirds lower with Omicron than with Delta.
00:10:11.000 Meanwhile, a separate study published by South Africa's National Institute for Communicable Diseases found that people infected with Omicron were 70 to 80 percent less likely to need hospital treatment than people infected with earlier variants, including Delta.
00:10:25.000 And by the way, South Africa is like 30% vaxed, 25% vaxed.
00:10:28.000 That is not a heavily vaxed country.
00:10:29.000 So that means that even if you are unvaxed, and particularly if you have natural immunity, Omicron should not pose a severe risk to you.
00:10:38.000 The risk of severe complications, even among those who are admitted to the hospital, such as needing oxygen or ICU care, was also reduced with Omicron compared with other variants, according to researchers in South Africa.
00:10:51.000 So what this means is that Omicron is not nearly as dangerous as anyone here has been led to believe.
00:10:58.000 So this should mean that if you're Biden and you're trying to pull out of this tailspin, now would be an excellent, excellent time for you to announce the good news.
00:11:05.000 They can't announce the good news.
00:11:06.000 They can't because they've created a moral binary.
00:11:08.000 And the moral binary is you are a good person if you listen to the government and you are a bad person if you do not listen to the government.
00:11:16.000 This is the headline that they are pushing today.
00:11:19.000 And by the way, in South Africa, the disease is already subsiding.
00:11:23.000 But for all the talk about how South Africa was just going to get destroyed and it was going to be the end of the world, basically their cases went straight up and then they went straight down.
00:11:31.000 Which suggests, by the way, that there are a bunch of undetected cases because nobody actually went to the hospital or even got a COVID test because nobody even knew they had COVID.
00:11:40.000 Testing asymptomatic people is the stupidest thing you can do right now.
00:11:43.000 Because if you test the asymptomatic, and then they come up positive, they have to go home.
00:11:46.000 And right now, everyone's gonna get Omicron, and virtually a huge percentage of the population is going to end up asymptomatic.
00:11:54.000 So if you're asymptomatic, and we're testing everyone, half the population is gonna have to go quarantine for no apparent reason.
00:12:00.000 Okay, but it's not about that for this administration.
00:12:05.000 For this administration, It is about the moral imprimatur of COVID.
00:12:11.000 There's an article from the Washington Post that shows this.
00:12:13.000 It really is kind of incredible.
00:12:15.000 As I've said before, COVID has become the pagan god that you worship.
00:12:18.000 That if you do the right things, COVID will never get you.
00:12:20.000 If you do the wrong things, COVID will get you.
00:12:23.000 That ain't the way real life works.
00:12:25.000 So they could either discard the model, or they could instead attempt to say that there's some other factor at play, namely the evils of your neighbors.
00:12:33.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.
00:12:35.000 Let's say that you are a member of a resistance band, and you have realized that reality that you seem to see is not actual reality, and you escape the reality you seem to see.
00:12:47.000 You actually enter an actual reality, and the reality enters a lot darker.
00:12:50.000 And now you're performing missions in this alternative reality where you plug into a computer called the Matrix, plug into this virtual reality, and you're doing missions to try and take down the machine overlords, and then You receive a phone call while you are in this virtual reality, and that phone call is a member of your resistance band back on your ship, and he explains to you that he is going to unplug you, which would kill you.
00:13:15.000 Well, as you start to fade away, as you say, not like, as you say that, you might think to yourself, man, I should have gotten life insurance.

00:13:53.000 Get your free life insurance quote.
00:13:54.000 See how much you could save.
00:13:55.000 That's policygenius.com slash Shapiro.
00:13:58.000 Okay, so as I say, the Biden administration could be announcing the good news.
00:14:02.000 They can't announce the good news.
00:14:04.000 And they refuse to announce the good news.
00:14:05.000 By the way, the good news doesn't end there.
00:14:07.000 Okay, Pfizer, their COVID-19 pill just got authorized in the United States.
00:14:10.000 That COVID-19 pill, which works against Omicron, it's called Paxlivid.
00:14:15.000 It's about to come online.
00:14:16.000 There should be about a quarter million doses available by the end of January.
00:14:20.000 And that pill takes down the rates of hospitalization and death by something like 90% after you get COVID.
00:14:29.000 So we have all sorts of great therapeutics that are already there.
00:14:31.000 We have great therapeutics that are coming online.
00:14:33.000 Omicron is way less, it is way less virulent.
00:14:36.000 It's much more transmissible, but way less virulent than prior strains.
00:14:39.000 And yet this administration is completely invested in a moral narrative, which is why you end up with articles like this by Angela Hopped over at the Washington Post.
00:14:47.000 This is in the wellness section.
00:14:50.000 Thousands who followed the rules are about to get COVID.
00:14:52.000 They shouldn't be ashamed.
00:14:54.000 I have a question.
00:14:55.000 Why should you ever be ashamed that you got COVID?
00:14:57.000 I don't understand why anyone would be ashamed they got COVID.
00:14:59.000 COVID is a disease.
00:15:00.000 Are you ashamed that you got cancer?
00:15:02.000 Are you ashamed that you have diabetes?
00:15:04.000 Are you ashamed that you have IBS?
00:15:06.000 Like, what disease are you ashamed of getting?
00:15:08.000 I mean, the innate assumption here is that you have committed some great moral sin in order for you to receive COVID.
00:15:15.000 I think you should be acting like Job.
00:15:17.000 I did all the right things, but then bad things happened to me.
00:15:19.000 And your friends come over to comfort you and offer you various reasons as to why you weren't strict enough in your adherence to God's will.
00:15:26.000 Like, it's so paganistic.
00:15:27.000 It really is.
00:15:29.000 According to this Washington Post piece, for two years now, Aline, a 30-something graduate student in Ohio, has diligently, desperately even, protected herself against the coronavirus.
00:15:39.000 Vaccinated and boosted, she took a test last week ahead of holiday travel to Atlanta.
00:15:43.000 She was stunned when it came back positive.
00:15:45.000 Aline, who requested to be identified by her first name only for privacy reasons, is still puzzling over how she got the virus.
00:15:51.000 Was it because she wore a cloth mask rather than a medical grade one?
00:15:53.000 Oh, you can't ask.
00:15:54.000 We can't ask that question.
00:15:55.000 Not if we wish to remain on YouTube.
00:15:57.000 And worries that the cough she has could now worsen because she has diabetes.
00:16:01.000 That's not the most painful part of the ordeal, though.
00:16:03.000 I feel very embarrassed and dumb, she says, and upset that she's causing her family stress.
00:16:07.000 It's eye opening that I feel so much shame from it.
00:16:09.000 I'm realizing how much judgment I was secretly harboring against people who got it before.
00:16:13.000 And this is what Joe Biden is actually counting on.
00:16:15.000 Is that you feel that the people who got COVID are worse than you.
00:16:19.000 You are good.
00:16:20.000 And the way you know you are good is that you didn't get COVID and you're not getting COVID now.
00:16:24.000 Well, all of your models are about to break, gang, because everyone's getting Omicron.
00:16:29.000 Omicron is hitting triple vax people.
00:16:31.000 Everyone's getting it.
00:16:31.000 And guess what?
00:16:32.000 It ain't going to matter because it's basically a cold for the vast, vast, vast majority of people.
00:16:37.000 The lead symptoms for Omicron are a runny nose, a slight cough, and your throat hurts a bit.
00:16:45.000 So not like the Black Plague, where the first symptom was giant bobos appearing on your body and then death.
00:16:51.000 It's the exact same symptoms as a cold, because it is kind of a cold.
00:16:55.000 It is a coronavirus that provides cold-like symptoms to the vast majority of people who get it.
00:17:00.000 But, says Jessica Stern, a clinical psychologist at NYU Langone, there's been this large narrative about the importance of controlling your actions to prevent yourself from getting sick and from transmitting the illness to other people.
00:17:09.000 Because the narrative is so closely connected to our behaviors, I think there's this implication or this assumption that if you get sick, you must have done something wrong to bring it on to yourself.
00:17:18.000 That's not true, she stresses, but unfortunately, it's inherent in the way we've been thinking about and talking about COVID.
00:17:23.000 That can lead to shame, which Stern defines as the combination of embarrassment or guilt and identity, one of the most visceral emotions.
00:17:31.000 So, yes, I'm amused that people on the left are starting to realize that anyone can get COVID.
00:17:39.000 You can do the right things and still get COVID.
00:17:41.000 Only when it hits them do they realize that they've been judgmental jackasses this entire time.
00:17:46.000 By the way, the Washington Post wellness section offers some tips on how to clamp down on your feelings of guilt.
00:17:51.000 One psychologist says, we're going to tell people, acknowledge the emotion.
00:17:54.000 Try to recognize what it is.
00:17:56.000 We know we're in an environment right now where there's a lot of judgment.
00:17:58.000 And it makes sense.
00:17:59.000 You might be feeling mortified at the idea.
00:18:01.000 Others will think you behaved carelessly.
00:18:04.000 Sue Varma, a psychiatrist, says, do you have perfectionist standards?
00:18:07.000 Was staying healthy your way of regaining control during an impossible, trying stretch of time?
00:18:13.000 Set it aside in favor of proper health protocols.
00:18:16.000 Don't make sure that you tell everybody else that you have COVID because you don't want to be in a situation where you infect somebody.
00:18:22.000 Also, don't over-explain.
00:18:25.000 One psychiatrist says, you might be preemptively defensive, telling people who didn't ask, you've taken safety protocols seriously.
00:18:32.000 Say, I'm super careful, but it got to me, but it got me anyway.
00:18:35.000 And consider it a learning experience.
00:18:36.000 Okay, I'm sorry.
00:18:37.000 This is all rooted in a moral lie, which is that if you got COVID, In the first place, it's because you're a bad human.
00:18:45.000 And this is why it was all connected in 2020 to the politics of Black Lives Matter.
00:18:48.000 If you're a good human, and you support Black Lives Matter, you won't get the virus.
00:18:52.000 Ever.
00:18:53.000 You will be fine.
00:18:53.000 If you're a bad human and you go partying out in the Ozarks, this means you will get COVID.
00:18:57.000 Because you're a bad human.
00:18:58.000 Because you weren't at a Black Lives Matter rally.
00:19:00.000 This entire bizarre paganistic standard for behavior continues to percolate among Democrats, and Joe Biden can't get out of it.
00:19:09.000 Because if Joe Biden were to just say, live your life, enjoy your life, that might say that the people who made the sacrifices, the people who did the right thing, they're no better than the others.
00:19:17.000 Uh-oh, uh-oh, that would be terrible.
00:19:20.000 That'd be terrible.
00:19:20.000 And so they're going to continue to clamp down.
00:19:24.000 And Leanna Nguyen over on CNN, she's urging more of this, right?
00:19:26.000 Leanna Nguyen who's the most, I mean, honestly, she has a job on TV in order to be the sky is falling crazy homeless person on a street corner in a New Yorker cartoon, right?
00:19:35.000 The end of the world is coming.
00:19:36.000 Here's Leanna Nguyen saying we should go further to restrict human activity.
00:19:40.000 I do have a lot of concern about what happens to parts of this country, for example, that have very low vaccination rates.
00:19:46.000 And this is another reason why I think President Biden's message yesterday was the right one in some way in saying vaccinated people should move on with their lives with precautions.
00:19:56.000 But I wish that he would go further to restrict the activities of the unvaccinated because they are the ones who are still spreading COVID and prolonging the pandemic for all of us.
00:20:07.000 Again, notice that last part, right?
00:20:09.000 They're the ones who are prolonging the pandemic.
00:20:11.000 It's them, and they are doing it.
00:20:12.000 Really?
00:20:13.000 Because it seems like there's a giant spike in New York City.
00:20:15.000 With the mask mandates, and with the vax mandates, and with the vaccine passports, and all the rest.
00:20:19.000 It seems like there's a giant spike pretty much everywhere.
00:20:22.000 So, once Omicron has broken all of your prior assumptions about the pandemic, maintaining those assumptions demonstrates fealty to a religious point of view.
00:20:30.000 It does not demonstrate fealty to data in any way, shape, or form.
00:20:33.000 Speaking of fealty to a religious point of view and not to the data, The Supreme Court is about to hold a special session on the Biden vaccine rules.
00:20:39.000 This broke late last night.
00:20:40.000 The Supreme Court said it would hear arguments on an expedited basis on President Joe Biden's COVID-19 shot or test rule for large employers and his separate vaccine mandate for health care workers.
00:20:49.000 The justices are going to hear both cases at a special January 7th session.
00:20:52.000 We, of course, are one of the plaintiffs in the case against the federal government with regard to the vaccine mandate.
00:20:58.000 Please go sign our petition over at dailywire.com slash do not comply.
00:21:02.000 We have hit a million signatures thanks to you.
00:21:05.000 We really appreciate your help in doing that.
00:21:07.000 The justices are going to hear arguments from business groups and Republican-led states that argue that OSHA exceeded its powers.
00:21:13.000 Ohio is leading a separate group of 27 states challenging the OSHA rule.
00:21:18.000 The business groups are being led by the National Federation of Independent Business.
00:21:22.000 So, we will see how the Supreme Court comes down on that.
00:21:25.000 But again, it's going to be very hard to argue in favor of a VAX mandate for businesses, given the simple fact that the vaccinated are transmitting Omicron.
00:21:33.000 That Omicron is hitting the vaccinated, and the whole purpose of the VAX mandate is to protect people from other people infecting them.
00:21:40.000 Well, the vaccinated are passing Omicron.
00:21:42.000 So you're going to have to explain why a vaccine mandate is now necessary.
00:21:45.000 And you can't say that OSHA is designed in order to quote-unquote protect people from themselves.
00:21:49.000 That's not what OSHA is designed to do.
00:21:51.000 It's designed to protect the workplace.
00:21:53.000 OSHA is not a rule saying that we can ban smoking because we have to protect you from your lung cancer.
00:21:59.000 It's that you're not allowed to smoke in the workplace because it might affect other people in the workplace and you have to be guaranteed a safe workplace.
00:22:05.000 So the VAX mandate is likely to come up for debate before the Supreme Court early January, and hopefully it will be struck down by the Supreme Court at that point.
00:22:12.000 Meanwhile, Joe Biden is now admitting some regrets.
00:22:16.000 I mean, the mixed messaging that is now coming from the Democratic Party over Omicron is really astonishing.
00:22:20.000 I mean, they're all over the place because Omicron has just scrambled their playbook, is really messed with their playbook.
00:22:25.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.
00:22:27.000 First, we know there are a lot of people who are almost impossible to shop for.
00:22:30.000 You're thinking about Christmas and what do I do for Christmas and what do I get them?
00:22:34.000 Well, let me give you a great gift that's great for pretty much everyone.
00:22:37.000 The gift everyone wants is that better night's sleep.
00:22:40.000 And I'm telling you, you need a great pair of sheets.
00:22:41.000 That is Bull & Branch.
00:22:42.000 Bull & Branch is so good.
00:22:44.000 My wife and I put it on our bed every single night.
00:22:46.000 We took all of our other sheets and we just don't sleep on them.
00:22:48.000 We gave them away.
00:22:49.000 We got them for our kids.
00:22:50.000 They are just that good.
00:22:52.000 Husband and wife team, Scott and Missy Tannen founded Bull & Branch to create a new standard in bedding by doing things the right way, not the easy way.
00:22:58.000 They hold themselves to high standards across the board.
00:23:00.000 They make great pillows, bath towels, robes, their signature hem sheets.
00:23:04.000 These are the all-time bestseller.
00:23:05.000 The reason for that is because they actually fit your mattress.
00:23:07.000 Have you ever been sleeping on a hem sheet and suddenly you roll over and your face is directly on the mattress you wake up in the morning?
00:23:12.000 You're like, ugh.
00:23:14.000 That has never happened with a bowl and branch sheet because these sheets are just fantastic.
00:23:18.000 They fit the bed perfectly.
00:23:19.000 Plus, they are buttery soft, lightweight, made with 100% organic cotton weave that feels incredible.
00:23:23.000 In all seasons.
00:23:24.000 It's completely toxin free, fair trade certified.
00:23:26.000 Treat yourself and your loved ones to the new standard embedding from Bull and Branch.
00:23:30.000 Their gifts come wrapped and ready in their special holiday packaging.
00:23:32.000 Today is the last day to get the best deals of the year with promo code Shapiro at bullandbranch.com.
00:23:37.000 That's B-U-L-L-L-A-N-D-B-R-A-N-C-H dot com.
00:23:39.000 Promo code Shapiro.
00:23:39.000 Exclusions may apply.
00:23:41.000 OK, so Joe Biden has created A model for himself in terms of policy, and he can't uphold the model for himself in terms of policy because his model never made any sense.
00:23:48.000 So, for example, Joe Biden the other day pledged he was going to get 500 million home tests out available for Americans with regard to COVID.
00:23:56.000 That isn't even close to what needs to happen, right?
00:23:58.000 We need billions, probably, because Omicron will hit everyone.
00:24:01.000 Also, what is the purpose of the home test?
00:24:03.000 You shouldn't be testing if you're asymptomatic.
00:24:06.000 You should not.
00:24:07.000 Just assume you're going to get Omicron, okay?
00:24:08.000 Just at this point, if you're a human, assume that you're going to get Omicron.
00:24:13.000 And that if you're vaxxed, you'll be fine.
00:24:14.000 And if you're unvaxxed, you're also very likely to be fine.
00:24:17.000 Because them's the stats.
00:24:19.000 But Joe Biden is stuck, because he said that the tests are really important, right?
00:24:24.000 So important that he's going to make 500 million of them available to the American people.
00:24:27.000 There's only one problem.
00:24:29.000 Thanks to the FDA's refusal under Joe Biden to green light the tests, and thanks to his own administration's failings, the tests ain't available.
00:24:36.000 So here was Joe Biden yesterday admitting, yeah, I regret not having made more tests, but nobody could have expected it, says Joe Biden.
00:24:41.000 Nobody could have expected this.
00:24:42.000 As we will see, that is just a lie.
00:24:45.000 Empty shelves and no test kits in some places three days before Christmas when it's so important.
00:24:52.000 Is that good enough?
00:24:54.000 No, nothing's been good enough.
00:24:58.000 He says nothing has been good enough.
00:25:00.000 Nothing.
00:25:01.000 OK, but then he says that he tried his best, but he never could have foreseen.
00:25:06.000 He never could have foreseen that something like this would happen.
00:25:10.000 He literally said, I don't think it's a failure.
00:25:12.000 I think you could argue we should have known a year ago, six months ago, two months ago, a month ago.
00:25:16.000 I wish I had thought about ordering 500 million at-home tests two months ago.
00:25:20.000 Okay, that's weird because Politico provides a timeline.
00:25:23.000 January 22nd, Biden promised a war footing to aggressively speed up COVID-19 response, especially on testing.
00:25:29.000 February 17th, Biden announced a series of new actions to expand COVID-19 testing.
00:25:33.000 March 11th, Biden said we continue to work on making at-home testing available.
00:25:37.000 July 6th, Biden said we're going to deploy things like testing to expand detection of the virus.
00:25:41.000 September 9th, he promised to use the Defense Production Act to increase production of rapid tests.
00:25:47.000 December 2nd, he said we're going to make free at-home tests more available than ever before.
00:25:51.000 December 6th, Jen Psaki said, why not make them free and give them out to everyone?
00:25:56.000 Should we just send one to every American?
00:25:58.000 Now they're saying they're going to.
00:26:00.000 So, yeah, they didn't do their job.
00:26:03.000 So even the job they said they were going to do, they just didn't do.
00:26:07.000 And meanwhile, Joe Biden continues to be all over the place with regard to VAX mandates.
00:26:11.000 Because on the one hand, he wants to maintain that his VAX mandate on major business is a good idea.
00:26:16.000 On the other hand, he wants to say that you don't need a VAX mandate for travel.
00:26:19.000 This is completely discombobulated.
00:26:21.000 And if you have to say that Joe Biden is likely to rectify this discontinuity in one way or the other, either he's going to make you VAX to travel or he's going to get rid of the VAX mandate, he's likely to try to make you VAX to travel.
00:26:33.000 That is probably the next move by this administration, which is truly egregious.
00:26:38.000 The planes are not the place where the virus is being passed.
00:26:42.000 They have HEPA filters.
00:26:43.000 If you go to your house and someone has COVID, you're much more likely to get COVID than if you're on a plane with somebody with COVID.
00:26:50.000 But the discombobulation is the point.
00:26:52.000 They have no plan because their plans are stupid and make no sense.
00:26:56.000 The other day I was reading F.A.
00:26:57.000 Hayek's Constitution of Liberty again.
00:27:00.000 And one of the things that F.A.
00:27:01.000 Hayek, Frederick Hayek, the great economist, says in the Constitution of Liberty is, quote, In other words, you start with a bad premise, and you make a bad law, and then in order to fix the bad law, you make another bad law, and then in order to fix that bad law, you have to make a third bad law, and pretty soon you have an entire rubric of terrible laws all interlocking with each other based on your original bad premise.
00:27:28.000 That's exactly what has happened here.
00:27:29.000 The trucking industry's positioning is pretty important to repeal your vaccine mandate.
00:27:32.000 They think that it's going to harm the supply chain's recovery.
00:27:35.000 talking about the VAX mandate with regard to truckers. A lot of people are saying we have supply chain problems. What happens when 30% of truckers who aren't VAX are fired from their jobs because they are not VAX? Here's Joe Biden saying, don't worry about it, it won't be a problem.
00:27:47.000 And we are going to maintain that VAX mandate.
00:27:48.000 The trucking industry is petitioning the Supreme Court to repeal your vaccine mandate.
00:27:55.000 They think that it's going to harm the supply chain recovery. What do you say?
00:27:59.000 I say no.
00:28:00.000 Thank you.
00:28:03.000 Okay, I say no.
00:28:05.000 Thank you.
00:28:06.000 It's my crazy joker smile.
00:28:08.000 Well, if you say no to reality, then magically reality will conform to you.
00:28:12.000 But here's the thing.
00:28:13.000 Joe Biden's like, don't worry, we're gonna do a vax mandate on the truckers.
00:28:15.000 Then he's asked, okay, well, how about vax mandates for travel?
00:28:18.000 And he's like, well, I don't think we have to do that.
00:28:20.000 Explain.
00:28:21.000 Truly.
00:28:22.000 Explain why a trucker alone in the cabin of his truck needs to be vaxed, but you don't need to be vaxed to get on a plane, Joe Biden.
00:28:29.000 It makes no sense, obviously.
00:28:31.000 Have you considered requiring passengers in this country to be vaccinated to get on flights?
00:28:36.000 It's been considered, but the recommendation I've gotten is not necessary.
00:28:42.000 Even with Omicron?
00:28:44.000 Even with Omicron.
00:28:45.000 That's the recommendation I got so far from the team.
00:28:48.000 So he's gonna back off of this.
00:28:54.000 You watch.
00:28:54.000 Within the next three weeks, Joe Biden is going to be calling for a vaccine mandate for travel, meaning you won't be able to get on a plane unless you provide proof of vaccination, which is just hideous.
00:29:02.000 So this is all hideous and stupid and pointless.
00:29:05.000 By the way, when reality hits, it turns out that people back off the reality.
00:29:08.000 So, for example, the Air Force has now extended its vax deadline for the Air National Guard by nearly a month, becoming the first service to roll back policy outlined by the Pentagon to get most of the troops vaccinated by the end of the year.
00:29:18.000 Previously, all Air Guard members had until December 2 to get fully vaccinated.
00:29:22.000 But on Wednesday, the service said the deadline was now December 31.
00:29:25.000 Why was it extended?
00:29:27.000 Well, that's because the rate of people who got vaxed in the Air National Guard is actually pretty low.
00:29:32.000 Only about 92% of air guard members had received at least one dose.
00:29:35.000 That means over 6,100 airmen who have not had any dose at all.
00:29:39.000 So the Air National Guard's like, OK, so we have a choice, which is we can either be wildly unprepared for a war or we can just stop with this crap, at least for the moment.
00:29:47.000 The NBA is doing the same thing, right?
00:29:48.000 The NBA was saying, well, you know, we had we had this bubble last year.
00:29:51.000 We were so worried about covid and and we even paused the season on the original.
00:29:56.000 But we're not pausing the season now.
00:29:57.000 We're never pausing the season now.
00:29:58.000 We have to go forward.
00:29:59.000 The show must go on.
00:30:01.000 And now they're being praised by the media for this.
00:30:03.000 Weird, because I have been informed reliably that COVID is the worst thing ever to happen and we can't get together in crowded areas unless apparently you're Adam Silver in the NBA.
00:30:13.000 No plans right now to pause the season.
00:30:16.000 We've of course looked at all the options, but frankly we're having trouble coming up with what the logic would be behind pausing right now as we look through these cases.
00:30:30.000 We're literally ripping through the country right now, putting aside the rest of the world.
00:30:35.000 I think we're finding ourselves where we sort of knew we were going to get to for the past several months, and that is that this virus will not be eradicated, and we're going to have to learn to live with it.
00:30:46.000 And I think that's what we're experiencing in the league right now.
00:30:51.000 So in other words, Kyrie Irving couldn't play for months and months and months and months because he was unvaccinated.
00:30:54.000 But we're getting rid of basically all of the requirements that would be necessary in order to push our original standard because the show must go on.
00:31:02.000 And it's endemic.
00:31:03.000 Bill de Blasio doing the same thing.
00:31:04.000 Right.
00:31:04.000 The commie outgoing mayor of New York.
00:31:06.000 He says, keep living, man.
00:31:07.000 We're not shutting down, man.
00:31:09.000 Is Captain Shutdown over here acknowledging the reality?
00:31:12.000 We're not telling vaccinated people to stop living their lives.
00:31:17.000 We're saying, you know, climb that ladder of vaccination.
00:31:20.000 If you haven't done the full vaccination course yet, go do it.
00:31:24.000 Keep living because we're not going to shut down.
00:31:27.000 I want to be very clear.
00:31:29.000 I do not believe in shutdowns.
00:31:31.000 Shutdowns are counterproductive at this point.
00:31:33.000 Vaccination is the key and there's still plenty more people who could get vaccinated or get that booster.
00:31:40.000 Okay, we're not shutting down.
00:31:41.000 We're going to keep on living.
00:31:42.000 Meanwhile, Washington, D.C.
00:31:44.000 has now announced a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for nearly everything indoors, according to Tim Mead's writing at Daily Wire.
00:31:50.000 Muriel Bowser announced Wednesday individuals 12 and up will be required to show proof of vaccine starting January 15, 2022, to do anything.
00:31:59.000 So you have to do this at restaurants, bars, nightclubs, indoor cultural and entertainment facilities, indoor exercise and recreational establishments, indoor event and meeting establishments.
00:32:07.000 Also, eligible students in D.C.
00:32:08.000 will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning on March 1st, 2022.
00:32:12.000 So now your choices are that you can either go to a failing D.C.
00:32:15.000 school or you cannot go to a failing D.C.
00:32:16.000 school and learn the same exact amount.
00:32:19.000 Those are the choices over in Washington, D.C.
00:32:21.000 Lori Lightfoot doing the same thing over in Chicago.
00:32:24.000 Again, it's all discombobulated and it makes no sense.
00:32:26.000 And it makes no sense because all of their premises about the pandemic were wrong from the get-go.
00:32:31.000 You are morally evil if you get COVID.
00:32:34.000 If you have natural immunity, that is completely worthless.
00:32:37.000 There's no reason to even talk about it.
00:32:39.000 You can prevent yourself from getting COVID if you just do these three magic things from BuzzFeed.
00:32:45.000 You're a bad person if you don't listen to the author.
00:32:47.000 Again, all this is being proved but wrong by Omicron, and they can't get, but they can't just say what is obvious, which is move on with your life.
00:32:55.000 Because if they do that, it's a tacit admission they've been getting it wrong nearly the entire time.
00:32:59.000 Lori Lightfoot tweeted simply, Put it simply, if you have been living vaccine-free, your time is up.
00:33:06.000 If you wish to live life with the ease to do the things you love, you must be vaxxed.
00:33:12.000 Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom is saying healthcare workers have to boost.
00:33:15.000 They don't just have to be vaxxed, they have to boost.
00:33:17.000 So, to be clear, one of the things we are worried about now is healthcare shortages.
00:33:21.000 Shortages in hospitals, lack of nurses.
00:33:23.000 And Gavin Newsom is like, well, what if we fire half of our nurses because they won't vax?
00:33:27.000 Amazing, amazingly short-sighted garbage.
00:33:30.000 That led to extraordinarily high vaccination rates for our healthcare workers, kept staff working, kept the morale strong, kept their immunity strong.
00:33:42.000 But we recognize now that just being vaccinated, fully vaccinated, is not enough.
00:33:47.000 With this new variant and we believe it's important to extend this requirement to getting that third dose to getting boosted and so we are formalizing that.
00:33:59.000 February 1st is the deadline to get that done.
00:34:03.000 Or are you going to fire them?
00:34:04.000 And then there will be shortages.
00:34:06.000 Again.
00:34:06.000 And there will be shortages again.
00:34:08.000 It is truly amazing how far they are willing to go in the direction of paranoia and fear in order to promulgate policy that is likely to have precisely the opposite of its intended effect.
00:34:18.000 It really is an amazing thing.
00:34:19.000 Meanwhile, you have the entire media still trying to blame Fox News for all of this, despite the fact that Omicron is hitting pretty much everyone, including the triple vax.
00:34:26.000 Again, people who are vulnerable should be getting vaxed.
00:34:29.000 I have been saying this consistently since day one.
00:34:32.000 My wife is triple vaxed.
00:34:33.000 Both my parents are triple vaxed.
00:34:34.000 I am double vaxed because I'm 37 years old, and after a consultation with Marty McCary at Johns Hopkins University, he has suggested that there's really no necessity for me to get the booster shot because I have T-cell and B-cell memory.
00:34:46.000 In any case, Joy Reid is still maintaining the case that if you don't listen to Joy Reid, this means you want people to die for fun.
00:34:55.000 Probably the most vaccinated company in America is Fox News.
00:34:58.000 They're all vaccinated.
00:35:00.000 They're going to live through this and let their viewers and their fans die because they don't give a damn.
00:35:05.000 It's just clicks to them.
00:35:07.000 It's just they don't care what happens.
00:35:09.000 This is fun for them.
00:35:14.000 It's fun for them.
00:35:14.000 It's fun for them to watch their viewers die.
00:35:16.000 Again, they can't let go of the moral narrative.
00:35:17.000 They'll never let go of the moral narrative.
00:35:19.000 Just a reminder.
00:35:19.000 Just a reminder.
00:35:20.000 The moral narrative that was originally driven by the left was the narrative that you must not greenlight the vaccine in the first place.
00:35:27.000 Technologyreview.com, October 19th, 2020.
00:35:30.000 One doctor's campaign to stop a COVID-19 vaccine being rushed through before election day.
00:35:37.000 How heart doctor Eric Topol used his social media accounts to kill off Trump's October surprise.
00:35:43.000 Remember, it was the left that was pushing hard to not allow the FDA and CDC to clear distribution of the vaccine because Trump was still president.
00:35:54.000 Remember, Pfizer was supposed to clear the vaccine like the last week of October, right before the election.
00:36:00.000 And people, for political reasons, decided they would rather see 100,000 Americans die than allow the vaccine to be greenlit under Trump.
00:36:08.000 According to Technology Review, after being released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 5th, U.S.
00:36:14.000 President Donald Trump praised the doctors who treated him for COVID-19, promised the public would soon have a vaccine against the deadly coronavirus.
00:36:20.000 We have the best medicines in the world, and very shortly they're all getting approved and the vaccines are coming momentarily, he said in a video.
00:36:25.000 Across the country, in California, a doctor named Eric Topol was responding in real time on social media.
00:36:30.000 He questioned the president's health, his doctor's action, even his mental status.
00:36:35.000 By that point, Topol, a heart expert and researcher with a huge Twitter following, was already weeks into a personal campaign to make sure the administration could not rush a COVID-19 vaccine through regulatory authorization before Election Day on November 3rd.
00:36:50.000 An editorial in the New York Times had raised the possibility of an October surprise vaccine back in June and warned that a vaccine approval could turn into a campaign stunt.
00:36:58.000 Topol aimed to prevent Trump from greenlighting a vaccine before scientists could prove it to be safe and effective.
00:37:05.000 If Trump badgered the FDA into prematurely releasing a vaccine, it could shake the public's trust in any COVID-19 vaccine.
00:37:11.000 Releasing a vaccine that people are afraid of could do more harm than good.
00:37:15.000 So, Topol led online calls for FDA Commissioner Steve Hans to resign after his agency was criticized for cowing to political pressure, and then phoned Hans to urge him to resist Trump's influence.
00:37:25.000 Topol targeted Pfizer, Which eventually set up a meeting for him with its vaccine team.
00:37:30.000 Topol and his allies claimed success on October 16th.
00:37:33.000 Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said the company would not be able to seek emergency approval for its vaccine before the third week in November, owing to safety standards that had been put in place by the FDA.
00:37:43.000 Those standards had been issued against Trump's wishes at the urging of Topol and other advocates.
00:37:46.000 So remember, all these people who say it's all apolitical, it's all about fighting the virus, they literally delayed the distribution of this vaccine by at least a month.
00:37:54.000 Which meant probably 100,000 dead Americans from Delta.
00:37:58.000 Because of this.
00:38:00.000 Because they desired that Trump not get his October surprise.
00:38:03.000 So never tell me that politics has not been a part of this.
00:38:05.000 It's been a part of this since the very damned beginning.
00:38:09.000 And people have died because of it, for sure.
00:38:11.000 But that ain't all on Trump and the Vax Deniers.
00:38:15.000 A lot of that is on the left.
00:38:17.000 You know how insane that is?
00:38:19.000 You know how insane it is that Eric Topol, one doctor at Scripps, Basically prevented hundreds of thousands of Americans from getting the vaccine at, say, the beginning of January rather than the middle of February.
00:38:30.000 It's totally crazy.
00:38:33.000 Okay, we'll get to the Biden policy in just one second.
00:38:35.000 Again, Joe Biden, he's making pretty obvious that he doesn't really want to run for president in 2024.

00:40:41.000 It's pretty great.
00:40:41.000 Check out this teaser.
00:40:43.000 Welcome to a most special episode of Candace.
00:40:47.000 Each time that I've interviewed President Trump, they have never told me that I am not allowed to ask him anything.
00:40:52.000 And today I want to talk about some topics that are on, I think, everybody's mind.
00:41:00.000 Where do you stand on these vaccine mandates?
00:41:02.000 What's going on there?
00:41:02.000 You talk about masks, you talk about mandates.
00:41:05.000 Julian Assange, Edward Snowden.
00:41:06.000 I mean, you could have had a chance to pardon these individuals.
00:41:09.000 You have two sides of it.
00:41:10.000 Anything that, looking back, you think, I got that one wrong.
00:41:13.000 Did you get COVID?
00:41:14.000 Uh, no.
00:41:14.000 Did you have the vaccine?
00:41:16.000 No.
00:41:16.000 No kidding.
00:41:17.000 I'm very impressed with you.
00:41:19.000 Alec Baldwin.
00:41:20.000 Is he going to get arrested?
00:41:21.000 I think he's crazy.
00:41:22.000 This is the toughest question I could possibly ask you.
00:41:24.000 Tell me one good thing Joe Biden has done in office.
00:41:27.000 She's done this before.
00:41:29.000 He is completely unscripted.
00:41:30.000 It's one of the things that fascinates me about him.
00:41:33.000 What you see is exactly what you get.
00:41:34.000 All right, Mr. President.
00:41:39.000 The interview is streaming exclusively to members at DailyWire.com.

00:42:04.000 you're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:42:07.000 Okay, meanwhile, Joe Biden continues to push for radical policy.
00:42:17.000 It's amazing to me how much radical policy this guy continues to push, even though it's just not making him popular.
00:42:23.000 He's catering to the left wing.
00:42:25.000 And I, for the life of me, I will never understand the political malpractice in which he is currently engaged.
00:42:30.000 According to CNN, Joe Biden has now extended his pause on student loan repayment through May 1st.
00:42:35.000 Why?
00:42:37.000 Through May 1st?
00:42:38.000 It is now December 23rd.
00:42:40.000 Through May 1st?
00:42:42.000 So we're gonna go, like, another five, six months without people having to repay their student loans.
00:42:46.000 For what reason, exactly?
00:42:48.000 The current unemploy- He's bragging about it.
00:42:49.000 The current unemployment rate in the country is 4.2%.
00:42:51.000 People are back at work.
00:42:54.000 People have savings because you got blue money into their pockets over the course of the last two years.
00:42:58.000 But they don't have to pay their loans, their student loans back.
00:43:01.000 Why, exactly?
00:43:02.000 As a person who paid back not only my own student loans, but also my wife's student loans, I'd like to ask, why?
00:43:10.000 Please explain.
00:43:12.000 Really, what is your logic here?
00:43:15.000 Biden said in a statement that because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, people can't pay back their student loans.
00:43:20.000 Really?
00:43:21.000 So people who generally have unpaid student loans, we're talking about a 25-year-old who ain't gonna die of Omicron, and almost certainly was not going to die of Delta.
00:43:29.000 Biden said, given these considerations, today my administration is extending the pause on federal student loan repayments for an additional 90 days through May 1, 2022, as we manage the ongoing pandemic and further strengthen our economic recovery.
00:43:41.000 Meanwhile, the Department of Education will continue working with borrowers to ensure they have the support they need to transition smoothly back into repayments and advance economic stability for their own households and for our nation.
00:43:52.000 That reversal came less than two weeks after the White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, indicated the administration would plan to restart federal student loan payments in February.
00:44:01.000 The possible extension was first reported by Politico.
00:44:03.000 Borrower balances have been frozen for two years.
00:44:07.000 Two years!
00:44:10.000 Some Democrats want it longer, right?
00:44:11.000 Elizabeth Warren, Ayanna Pressley.
00:44:14.000 Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, and Ayanna Pressley put out a statement saying extending the clause will help millions of Americans make ends meet, especially as we overcome the Omicron variant.
00:44:23.000 But they want Biden to take further action and just simply cancel up to 50 grand of student loan debt per borrower.
00:44:29.000 For the people who are the most highly educated and thus likely the most high income in the United States.
00:44:36.000 Makes perfect sense.
00:44:38.000 Just genius, genius policy from this administration.
00:44:41.000 Of course, by the way, nobody would ever engage in bad behavior with all the money we've blown into the system.
00:44:45.000 I mean, it's not as though people stole like $100 billion in COVID relief funds.
00:44:49.000 Oh, wait, that's exactly what happened.
00:44:51.000 According to CNBC, criminals have stolen close to $100 billion in pandemic relief funds, according to the Secret Service.
00:44:59.000 The stolen funds were diverted by fraudsters from the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program, the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program, and another program set up to dole out unemployment assistance funds nationwide.
00:45:10.000 Only about $2.3 billion in stolen funds have been recovered so far.
00:45:15.000 So they lost $100 billion, but the good news is they found $2.3 billion in stolen funds, which sounds like the government.
00:45:21.000 They sound like they're great at this.
00:45:23.000 Assistant Special Agent in Charge Roy Dodson said, I've been in law enforcement for over 29 years.
00:45:28.000 I've worked some complex fraud investigations for 20 plus years.
00:45:31.000 I've never seen anything at this scale.
00:45:34.000 He said, there's no doubt the programs were easily accessible online.
00:45:38.000 That brings the opportunity for bad actors to get into the mix.
00:45:41.000 It was necessary to try to get those funds out to people that were truly hurting.
00:45:44.000 Nobody's at fault.
00:45:45.000 Well, I feel like some people are at fault when you lose a hundred billion dollars just randomly.
00:45:50.000 Whoops!
00:45:52.000 But don't worry, guys.
00:45:53.000 Everything is going great.
00:45:54.000 This administration, they know what they are doing.
00:45:56.000 They are experts.
00:45:57.000 And because they are experts, you should listen to everything they have to say.
00:46:00.000 And if you don't listen to what they have to say, and then you get Omicron, it's because it's your fault, you see.
00:46:04.000 It's because it's your fault.
00:46:06.000 By the way, the law of unintended consequences remains undefeated.
00:46:11.000 You have to love this final story of our broadcast year on the live podcast.
00:46:17.000 This is an amazing story.
00:46:18.000 A Democratic member of Congress was carjacked and robbed in Philadelphia after backing Defund the Police.
00:46:23.000 Representative Mary Gay Scanlon represents Pennsylvania's 5th District.
00:46:26.000 Carjacked and robbed at gunpoint in South Philadelphia in broad daylight.
00:46:30.000 So, yeah.
00:46:32.000 You couldn't see that one coming at all.
00:46:34.000 Defund the Police, get carjacked.
00:46:36.000 Welcome to Democratic Policy.
00:46:38.000 Literally being mugged by reality.
00:46:39.000 Well, the Democrats in 2022 are going to be mugged by reality en masse.
