The Ben Shapiro Show - Happy New Year, Everyone Is Still Stupid | Ep. 1403

00:00:00.000 Joe Biden vacations and AOC heads to Florida as Omicron spikes.

00:00:05.000 Well, the media, as always, target Ron DeSantis and the Democratic Media Complex prepares for a January 6th extravaganza.

00:00:12.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:13.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:14.000 The Ben Shapiro Show is sponsored by ExpressiveVPN.

00:00:26.000 We'll get to all the news in just a moment.

00:00:26.000 Slash Ben.

00:00:28.000 And there's so much of it because I've been missing you guys first.

00:00:32.000 Let's talk about one of the best investments you can make.

00:00:34.000 It is in yourself.

00:00:35.000 This is why Grand Canyon University, an affordable private Christian university, is one of the largest, fastest growing universities in the country.

00:00:42.000 Located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, GCU has not increased campus tuition since 2009.

00:00:47.000 They've delivered over $290 million in scholarships to online and campus students in 2020 alone.

00:00:52.000 GCU offers 275 degree programs with over 250 of those online.

00:00:57.000 So, if you're looking to earn your degree online with supportive counselors and faculty from around the country, or you want to go to one of the top 20 best college campuses in America, Where you truly feel connected to a community, find your purpose at Grand Canyon University.

00:01:10.000 It's private, Christian, affordable.

00:01:12.000 Visit gcu.edu slash myoffer to see what scholarships you qualify for.

00:01:16.000 I visited GCU.

00:01:17.000 Student body is fantastic.

00:01:18.000 It's a beautiful campus.

00:01:19.000 And honestly, it's the new year, so it's time to resolve to get your education in order.

00:01:24.000 If you're looking for a credential so you can move up in your career, GCU is a great way to do it.

00:01:27.000 Visit gcu.edu slash myoffer.

00:01:30.000 See what scholarships you qualify for from Grand Canyon.

00:01:34.000 Alrighty.

00:01:34.000 University.

00:01:35.000 So, over the break, everyone continued to panic about Omicron, but not as much as they were before.

00:01:41.000 Not as much as they were before.

00:01:42.000 Because here is the thing.

00:01:44.000 For so many people in the United States, they've been viewing COVID as a pagan god visiting wrath upon their enemies.

00:01:50.000 If you were a blue state person, and every time Florida had a spike, you pointed at Florida.

00:01:54.000 You said, those guys, they're bad because they voted for Ron DeSantis.

00:01:58.000 And that is why there's a big spike in Florida.

00:02:01.000 And every time California looked over at Texas and there was a spike in Texas, they said, ah, those people are evil.

00:02:06.000 And that's why this is happening.

00:02:07.000 Well, there's only one problem now.

00:02:10.000 Omicron has come and Omicron is going to be gotten by everyone.

00:02:14.000 Everyone's going to get Omicron.

00:02:15.000 We're all getting it.

00:02:16.000 I've been saying this since it broke.

00:02:17.000 It is 140 times as transmissible as the original variant.

00:02:21.000 It is 70 times as transmissible as Delta.

00:02:23.000 Now, the really, really good news is it is also about 20% as deadly as Delta, which means that it is about as deadly as Delta would be after you were vaccinated for Delta.

00:02:33.000 So you unvaccinated with Omicron, you have about the same odds as you would be vaccinated with Delta.

00:02:39.000 That's the South African stats.

00:02:41.000 Which means that, you know, that's not all that scary.

00:02:44.000 Like, it really is not.

00:02:45.000 And a bunch of people in the blue states who are starting to get Omicron, despite having done all the things that their great scientific authorities told them to do, they now have a challenge, because they can either look at their worldview and realize that COVID was not a pagan god, COVID is in fact just a disease, and it has certain vectors, and you can do certain things to mitigate against the risks of the disease, like getting vaccinated if you are unhealthy or if you are elderly,

00:03:07.000 Or if you are in a very crowded area, theoretically, you could be wearing an N95 mask, although not quite as effective against Omicron as it was against prior variants, right?

00:03:16.000 But that's pretty much all you can do.

00:03:17.000 And also, even if you get vaccinated, you're probably going to get Omicron.

00:03:21.000 Instead of seeing the virus as just a challenge in life, Against which you have to make certain risk-reward calculations.

00:03:27.000 The left started to see it as this pagan god.

00:03:29.000 Well, once Omicron came, we are back to basic risk-reward calculations because you're getting punished whether you did the right thing or the wrong thing.

00:03:35.000 Whether you got vaxxed or unvaxxed.

00:03:37.000 Whether you are living in New York or living in Florida.

00:03:39.000 There is a spike where you live because Omicron is really transmissible.

00:03:42.000 And so this challenges the worldview.

00:03:44.000 So you have two choices.

00:03:45.000 Choice number one is to suddenly discover all the things that some of us have been saying for well over a year and realize that you have to live with a certain level of risk in your life.

00:03:53.000 Or possibility two is you have to crack down even harder.

00:03:56.000 If only we had shown more fealty to the health authorities, if only we listened more to Dr. Fauci, if only we worshipped more at the altar of Joe Biden, then perhaps Omicron would spare us.

00:04:05.000 And you can see this bifurcation happening on the left.

00:04:08.000 It's really fascinating.

00:04:09.000 So, I want to begin with just a couple of brief stats because I know that stats are verboten where many on the militant COVID lockdown left come from.

00:04:18.000 Here are the current deaths in California.

00:04:22.000 They're averaging about 65 deaths a day in California.

00:04:26.000 As you see, this number is actually lower than it was back in September.

00:04:31.000 This despite the fact that the case count in California has indeed been going up.

00:04:35.000 That is not a surprise because, again, Omicron is not nearly as deadly as Delta, right?

00:04:42.000 The case count is going to, like, on a daily basis, it will be the highest it has ever been in California in very short order.

00:04:42.000 That's the case count.

00:04:49.000 They are seeing something like 60,000 new cases every day in California right now, and they are seeing 65 deaths today.

00:04:56.000 This is not unique to California.

00:04:58.000 If we take a look at some of the other states, you will see that this is the consistent pattern.

00:05:01.000 And by the way, it's the consistent pattern at every place on earth.

00:05:05.000 Here are the deaths in New York.

00:05:07.000 Hey, are you noticing something about the deaths in New York?

00:05:09.000 That's correct.

00:05:10.000 There's been no significant increase in the number of deaths in New York.

00:05:13.000 Seven-day running average, 33 in New York.

00:05:16.000 Here is what the case chart looks like.

00:05:18.000 Okay, the case chart looks like an exponential spike.

00:05:21.000 They're seeing 45,000 new cases a day in New York.

00:05:26.000 Hey, so what?

00:05:28.000 But are you going to let go of this, guys?

00:05:29.000 Are you going to?

00:05:30.000 Or are you not?

00:05:32.000 The cognitive dissonance is too great.

00:05:33.000 On the one hand, COVID is only supposed to hit the unworthy.

00:05:36.000 On the other hand, it's hitting everyone and very few people are dying.

00:05:38.000 So what do you do?

00:05:39.000 What do you do?

00:05:39.000 By the way, Florida, right?

00:05:40.000 You'll see the media covering Florida.

00:05:42.000 Oh, the death in Florida.

00:05:43.000 Oh, the chaos in Florida.

00:05:45.000 22 deaths on the seven-day rolling average.

00:05:49.000 24 deaths, December 31st, 2021.

00:05:50.000 These are lower numbers than they were seeing in mid-September.

00:05:56.000 Why?

00:05:57.000 Because again, Omicron.

00:05:58.000 Not super deadly.

00:05:59.000 Hey, thank God!

00:06:01.000 This is a good thing!

00:06:02.000 Like, accept the good news, guys!

00:06:04.000 Here's that case count in Florida.

00:06:07.000 76,000 new cases, December 31st.

00:06:08.000 Okay, now, one of the reasons you're seeing a lot of new cases is because everyone is testing.

00:06:12.000 You can go all over the country and you're seeing giant lines of people who are testing for Omicron.

00:06:16.000 And honestly, I don't understand the logic.

00:06:17.000 I don't.

00:06:18.000 The only logic seems to be that everybody is stuck in the March 2020 mindset in which a COVID diagnosis meant that you were supposed to absolutely panic and freak out.

00:06:28.000 I don't even understand if you're asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic for COVID, they're not going to do anything for you on a treatment level.

00:06:33.000 I was talking to my wife about this yesterday.

00:06:34.000 She's like, I am completely unaware of any medical perspective from which you are supposed to test people for disease when it does not actually change your treatment vectors.

00:06:43.000 In other words, why test for something if you don't?

00:06:47.000 Change how you're going to treat the thing.

00:06:49.000 You don't go get tested for the cold.

00:06:49.000 Right?

00:06:50.000 Why?

00:06:51.000 Because there's nothing you can do about the cold.

00:06:52.000 You just have the cold and then you're done.

00:06:54.000 The only reason to do this is because you still think you can stop transmission.

00:06:57.000 You're not stopping transmission of Omicron.

00:06:59.000 Okay, so here's the reality.

00:07:01.000 For a lot of people on the left, they know this.

00:07:03.000 A lot of people on the left know this, and they're beginning to accept the reality.

00:07:07.000 Not fully accept it, not intellectualize it, but sort of accept it in practice and even in some of their rhetoric.

00:07:12.000 So you started to see this over the course of the last week and a half.

00:07:14.000 So Joe Biden, the President of the United States, once tweeted that he was going to stop the virus, which of course he has not because no one can because it's a virus.

00:07:23.000 Here is President Biden.

00:07:24.000 This is late December, saying there is no federal solution for COVID, which is weird because last I checked, he's attempting to mandate that all of my employees be vaccinated or he will fine me.

00:07:34.000 So for a guy who says he has no control, he seems to be trying to assert an extraordinary amount of control. Here's the President of the United States saying, well, that is not my fault.

00:07:44.000 There is no federal solution.

00:07:49.000 This gets solved at a state level.

00:07:51.000 I'm looking at Governor Sununu on the board here.

00:07:53.000 He talks about that a lot.

00:07:55.000 And it ultimately gets down to where the rubber meets the road, and that's where the patient is in need of help, or preventing the need for help.

00:08:06.000 Alrighty, well, I know that you can't solve this.

00:08:09.000 Why don't you accept that you can't solve this?

00:08:11.000 By the way, Joe Biden then took off for Delaware.

00:08:12.000 So we have to sort of recapitulate what happened over the break.

00:08:15.000 It's quite fascinating.

00:08:17.000 And it shows you how the media have spun the American public out of control here.

00:08:20.000 So Joe Biden says there is no federal solution.

00:08:22.000 Then he promptly leaves for Delaware.

00:08:25.000 He just takes off for Delaware in the middle of this giant Omicron spike.

00:08:28.000 Now, theoretically, we should all be panicking, right?

00:08:30.000 Now, in reality, none of us should be panicking.

00:08:33.000 There are measures you can take if you wish to protect yourself.

00:08:33.000 We've done all we can.

00:08:36.000 There's Joe Biden just walking away.

00:08:36.000 That's about it.

00:08:38.000 Catch you later.

00:08:39.000 See you in Delaware, Bob.

00:08:41.000 Bye.

00:08:42.000 He just walks away.

00:08:43.000 Meanwhile, the irrepressible.

00:08:47.000 Unbelievably fresh.

00:08:48.000 So fresh.

00:08:49.000 So face. 1.00

00:08:50.000 Magnificently stupid. 1.00

00:08:52.000 Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez. 1.00

00:08:53.000 She decamped from Lockton Town, New York City, where everybody is still masked, where they have vaccine mandates despite the fact that the vaccinated are still passing the disease.

00:09:01.000 She decamped to Florida.

00:09:04.000 And she was down here in Deathsantis' hellscape.

00:09:08.000 Right down here in my state.

00:09:11.000 Vacationing with her boyfriend.

00:09:14.000 Isn't that nice?

00:09:15.000 That's so nice!

00:09:16.000 She left a locked down state that she helped create to come down here to my state, which she is constantly ripping on as a hellscape, death sentence, burning, flaming, Dante's 7th circle, carnage ridden landscape of horror. 0.99

00:09:34.000 She decamped down here so that she could vacation in the sun. 0.95

00:09:37.000 Because she's a terrible person.

00:09:39.000 Because she decamped here. 1.00

00:09:40.000 And then, when people pointed out, hey, AOC, it's weird because your vacationing in the state that you keep talking about is being the worst, right?

00:09:45.000 Rhonda Sands is going to get everybody killed, and he doesn't care if people die. 1.00

00:09:48.000 And yet, here you are, enjoying the sun and the fun with your boyfriend. 0.89

00:09:53.000 She tweeted out in response, If Republicans are mad, they can't date me. 0.99

00:09:57.000 They can just say that instead of projecting that, they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend's feet, ya creepy weirdos. 1.00

00:10:07.000 So, her response to, you are a flaming, ridiculous hypocrite for moving from your lockdown state down here to vacation. 1.00

00:10:16.000 While constantly mewling that Republicans are killing everyone. 1.00

00:10:19.000 And yet you're here, I noticed.

00:10:21.000 You don't seem that afraid, I noticed.

00:10:22.000 It seems like in your personal life, when you're not parking your Tesla illegally at the Whole Foods, you're decamping to Florida for vacation. 0.94

00:10:29.000 When we notice that, her response is, it's just because you want to have sex with me. 1.00

00:10:32.000 Well, maybe it's because you're a moron. 1.00

00:10:34.000 Maybe that's the problem. 1.00

00:10:36.000 Maybe it's because you're a stupid. 1.00

00:10:37.000 Maybe it's because you're a giant stupido. 1.00

00:10:39.000 Maybe it's because you have the brain power of, like, the little oven lights in the Easy-Bake ovens that I get my daughter. 1.00

00:10:48.000 Maybe it's because you are one of the dumbest people alive. 1.00

00:10:51.000 That's why we are pointing this out. 1.00

00:10:53.000 And then she tweeted out, Is she gay now? 0.91

00:10:55.000 I missed that part. 1.00

00:10:56.000 No, what's really weird is that we point out that you are a ridiculous human being. 1.00

00:11:01.000 And your first response is, Well, that's just because you want to screw me. 1.00

00:11:04.000 I missed that part.

00:11:05.000 These people clearly need therapy, won't do it and use politics as their outlet instead.

00:11:08.000 It's really weird. 1.00

00:11:10.000 No, what's really weird is that we point out that you are a ridiculous human being. 1.00

00:11:15.000 And your first response is, well, that's just because you want to screw me. 1.00

00:11:17.000 If somebody has a problem here, lady, I have a feeling it's you. 0.93

00:11:22.000 By the way, she was having lots of fun over the week.

00:11:27.000 She decamped here. 1.00

00:11:27.000 She was, apparently, she was called up on stage at a drag queen bar, at a drag bar in Florida. 1.00

00:11:34.000 You know, unmasked, with a bunch of people in close proximity with one another.

00:11:38.000 You know, living afraid, as we were supposed to.

00:11:41.000 Taking all precautions as necessary.

00:11:46.000 There she is.

00:11:47.000 Oh, smiling.

00:11:48.000 Oh, there we are.

00:11:52.000 Man, these folks.

00:11:53.000 These folks.

00:11:54.000 Okay, so.

00:11:55.000 I will say this.

00:11:56.000 The media's treatment of this is truly astonishing.

00:11:59.000 So they don't ask why Joe Biden is headed off to Delaware.

00:12:02.000 They don't care.

00:12:03.000 Right?

00:12:03.000 It's fine.

00:12:03.000 He's going to Delaware.

00:12:04.000 It's fine.

00:12:04.000 The man needs his nap, and he needs his insure, and he needs his Matlock.

00:12:08.000 And it's Christmas break, so why the hell not?

00:12:11.000 And they don't care that AOC is decamping down to Florida to enjoy vacation in the land of sun and fun that she decries as, once again, a landscape of death. 0.99

00:12:22.000 They don't care about any of that.

00:12:23.000 What they care about is where's Ron DeSantis?

00:12:24.000 Literally the day after Joe Biden just absconded, they decided, you know, where's Ron DeSantis?

00:12:29.000 And this started trending on Twitter.

00:12:30.000 Where's Ron DeSantis?

00:12:32.000 Where's Ron?

00:12:33.000 Well, it turns out that where was Ron DeSantis?

00:12:36.000 It turns out that Ron DeSantis was taking care of his wife who's having cancer treatments.

00:12:44.000 So that's nice.

00:12:46.000 Apparently he took his wife to cancer treatments over Christmas break.

00:12:49.000 And meanwhile, AOC was tweeting out about Ron DeSantis.

00:12:53.000 She tweeted, hasn't Governor DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like two weeks?

00:12:57.000 If he's around, I'd be happy to say hello.

00:12:59.000 His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks.

00:13:02.000 In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing.

00:13:04.000 Folks are quite receptive here.

00:13:06.000 Yeah, come down here and try to run AOC.

00:13:06.000 Smiley face.

00:13:08.000 We'll see how that goes for you.

00:13:09.000 Really, really.

00:13:10.000 Pick a district.

00:13:11.000 Anytime.

00:13:12.000 Anytime.

00:13:13.000 Or, alternatively, just stay the hell out of my state. 0.95

00:13:15.000 Because you don't belong here. 0.99

00:13:17.000 Seriously, go away. 0.99

00:13:18.000 Just go away. 0.98

00:13:19.000 It's a free country.

00:13:20.000 You're allowed to be here.

00:13:21.000 I'm not saying we should legally bar you from entering the state.

00:13:24.000 I'm saying that you're... that if you are going to crap all over the state where I live, and then come here for vacation, and then rip on the governor, who has done all the things that you did not want to do, You should maybe just stay home. 0.99

00:13:38.000 Maybe you should just go home, you jackass. 0.99

00:13:41.000 Maybe that. 0.99

00:13:41.000 But honestly, this is how I'm feeling about all of this stuff lately. 0.99

00:13:45.000 The reason I'm feeling this is because there are newfound discoveries happening each and every day from the left about things that all of us, those of us who've been listening to the show, those of us who've been following the data, There are many things that we have been saying for well over a year, and some things we've been saying for a couple of months since Omicron, that you guys have been ignoring.

00:14:03.000 And yet suddenly it has dawned upon you like a ray of light from the heavens.

00:14:06.000 The clouds opened.

00:14:08.000 Suddenly the voice broke forth.

00:14:10.000 The voice, not of God, but of God as a woman. 0.99

00:14:14.000 Ariana Grande's voice came down from the heavens and suddenly you were bestowed with vast wisdom with regard to COVID that some of us have been saying by looking at the data for the last several months.

00:14:21.000 We'll get to that in just one second.

00:14:23.000 First, let us talk About the chair that you need.

00:15:35.000 Alrighty, so.

00:15:36.000 As I say, I'm noticing that the Democrats are sort of acting like Republicans now.

00:15:40.000 But they're not speaking like Republicans.

00:15:42.000 Or if they do, they're pretending that it's brand new info.

00:15:45.000 Breaking news.

00:15:46.000 Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

00:15:47.000 It wasn't that the Republicans were right all along.

00:15:49.000 It wasn't that commentators who follow the data have been right all along.

00:15:52.000 It's that there's new information.

00:15:54.000 And this new information changes everything.

00:15:57.000 It's amazing how the new information coincided directly with a bunch of them and their friends getting Omicron.

00:16:03.000 Literally, as soon as they got a cold and they realized that this wasn't the end of the world, and that they had done all of the things, and that God had still smoked them with Omicron, at exactly that point in time, they went, oh, maybe I should be able to go to work.

00:16:16.000 Oh, maybe I shouldn't have to shut down my business.

00:16:17.000 Hey, you know, should we shut down all of American society over all this stuff?

00:16:21.000 I am so frustrated.

00:16:23.000 You are so frustrated.

00:16:24.000 We are all so frustrated. 0.95

00:16:26.000 You guys spent almost two years, you spent almost two years killing people's businesses, destroying their lives, forcing their kids out of school, only to now turn around and pretend that it has dawned upon you, like the prophets of old, the great truth from above, the same crap we've been saying for months and at this point almost years, Yeah, you can shove it where the sun don't shine, man. 0.84

00:16:50.000 Like, my God. 0.58

00:16:52.000 Okay, so we begin with Chris Hayes.

00:16:55.000 So Chris Hayes over at MSNBC, he's talking about Omicron.

00:16:57.000 He says, you know, you know, Omicron, get this guys, Omicron is kind of like the flu.

00:17:05.000 It's kind of like the flu.

00:17:08.000 So, here is the thing.

00:17:10.000 Omicron is kind of like the flu in terms of its infection death rate, right?

00:17:13.000 Its infection fatality rate, its IFR, is very close to that of the flu by the available data.

00:17:18.000 You know what else is very close to the IFR of the flu?

00:17:21.000 Post-vaccination Delta, right? 0.63

00:17:23.000 If you're unvaccinated, then Delta is way more deadly than the flu.

00:17:26.000 If you're post-vaccination, then Delta is less deadly than the flu on an IFR basis.

00:17:31.000 So is the original variant.

00:17:31.000 Once you were vaccinated, you were good to go.

00:17:33.000 And yet these people treated it as panic time the entire time.

00:17:37.000 If you even said that post-vaccination you really should not be afraid, you should go and live your life and you're fine, you're treated as a COVID denier.

00:17:45.000 Now here's Chris Hayes, and it has suddenly dawned on him, wait, this thing isn't so bad. 0.96

00:17:48.000 Yeah, we know, asshat, we know! 0.97

00:17:51.000 Here he is. 0.88

00:17:54.000 Those people who are vaccinated, particularly those who are boosted, you know, the risk, the personal risk of being exposed to this went from something that we hadn't really dealt with specifically like this before in our lifetimes.

00:18:04.000 We hadn't quite had an illness this infectious and this possible to cause serious illness, to something that does look more like the flu.

00:18:12.000 And the flu, of course, can still be dangerous.

00:18:13.000 It kills tens of thousands of Americans every year.

00:18:16.000 But we don't orient our lives around the flu.

00:18:20.000 Whoa! 0.71

00:18:21.000 When did Tucker Carlson take over Chris Hayes' body?

00:18:23.000 That was weird.

00:18:24.000 That was super strange.

00:18:25.000 I mean, whoa!

00:18:28.000 It's just dawning on them now, guys.

00:18:30.000 It's dawning on them now.

00:18:30.000 But they're the first to discover it.

00:18:33.000 Okay, or how about Dr. Anthony Fauci?

00:18:36.000 So, Dr. Fauci.

00:18:37.000 Over the break.

00:18:38.000 He was talking about the fact that no one in South Africa is vaxxed.

00:18:42.000 Like the vaccination rate in South Africa is really low, like 30%.

00:18:45.000 And yet no one in South Africa is dying of COVID.

00:18:47.000 Weird!

00:18:48.000 I wonder why that could be.

00:18:50.000 Could it be?

00:18:50.000 Wait, I'm gonna say a couple of words right here.

00:18:52.000 It's a phrase.

00:18:53.000 It's a phrase we've used a lot on the show.

00:18:55.000 Doctors who've been on the show have used it as well.

00:18:56.000 Because it has been known about for literally a couple of thousand years at this point.

00:19:00.000 Natural immunity.

00:19:02.000 Once you have the disease, your body now knows how to fight the disease.

00:19:06.000 I know, this is crazy talk, because COVID was so new.

00:19:09.000 It was brand new.

00:19:10.000 It was so special.

00:19:11.000 It was different from every other disease.

00:19:13.000 In fact, it's not.

00:19:14.000 COVID works like pretty much every other disease.

00:19:16.000 But Dr. Anthony Fauci, it's now dawning on him that natural immunity is a thing, but apparently still only in South Africa.

00:19:21.000 In the United States, you have to vax, boost, boost again.

00:19:23.000 In fact, you have to get that punch card.

00:19:24.000 And if you finally get to 12 boosters, Then you get a free donut, and also they give you a new punch card so you can start over, because it's more like your dry cleaners than it is like an actual fulfillment of some sort of curriculum.

00:19:34.000 There will never be an end to the boosters, according to Anthony Fauci, but natural immunity does apply in South Africa.

00:19:40.000 So, yeah, I didn't know that biology was different in South Africa than here, but according to Fauci, it is.

00:19:45.000 Here is Fauci discovering natural immunity.

00:19:46.000 It dawned on him for the first time with Omicron.

00:19:49.000 Amazing.

00:19:51.000 It is likely that the reason that it is less severe is that in South Africa what you have is a very large proportion of the population has already been infected and recovered and a relatively smaller proportion have been vaccinated.

00:20:09.000 So it is likely that the protection against infection is not very good because it'll get into the nasopharynx and infect you.

00:20:17.000 The reason they may have a less severe is that the underlying cross protection that you have from an experience of a virus of a different variant might actually be protecting you from severe disease which predominantly involves the lungs.

00:20:38.000 I'm sitting here in sun silence because some of us have been saying this for two years!

00:20:43.000 Okay, and captain best doctor in the world, after Dr. Joe Biden, is suddenly discovering natural immunity.

00:20:48.000 Well, slow clap for Dr. Fauci.

00:20:51.000 Slow clap for the greatest infectious disease specialist of our time.

00:20:54.000 Slow clap for discovering the same thing that we've known for a couple of thousand years at this point.

00:20:58.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.

00:21:56.000 And again, there's really no catch.

00:21:58.000 Get the free GetUpside app right now at the App Store to get started.

00:22:01.000 Alrighty.

00:22:02.000 So, again, I'm just amazed that all of our health experts, all of our policy experts are just accepting the reality now, as we'll see, not for long.

00:22:11.000 So Dr. Fauci made an incredible statement over the course of the Christmas holiday, Christmas, New Year's holiday.

00:22:17.000 The CDC made an announcement.

00:22:18.000 The announcement was that if you are diagnosed with COVID, Then your quarantine period should not be 10 days.

00:22:23.000 Your quarantine period should be 5 days.

00:22:26.000 If you're asymptomatic, if your symptoms go away, then you should be able to go to work after 5 days.

00:22:31.000 Now, is this based in science?

00:22:33.000 The answer is no.

00:22:34.000 It is not based in science.

00:22:35.000 You know why?

00:22:35.000 Because nothing the CDC does is based in science.

00:22:38.000 6 feet of social distancing?

00:22:40.000 Not based in science.

00:22:40.000 The standard is based on just arbitrary nonsense.

00:22:43.000 It's really based on droplets.

00:22:45.000 It's not based on airborne viruses.

00:22:47.000 Studies done in like the 1930s and 40s.

00:22:48.000 Okay, so the six-foot standard is meaningless.

00:22:51.000 All of the mask studies that have been done that are showing that masks are super duper effective are basically lab studies that have not been applied in the real world.

00:22:59.000 There is one study from Bangladesh about real-world masks and that did not apply to Delta, which is much more infectious than the original variant and certainly does not apply to Omicron.

00:23:06.000 So, so much of the quote-unquote science that is surrounded this is just based on faulty data.

00:23:11.000 So the CDC has now announced that once you're five days in, you can go back to work.

00:23:15.000 But the consideration, why?

00:23:16.000 Why?

00:23:17.000 Well, because if they force everybody out of work for Omicron, it shuts down the economy again.

00:23:21.000 Like some of us were saying several weeks ago, that if you wish to go into soft lockdown, test everybody and force them all to quarantine for 10 days.

00:23:28.000 So Anthony Fauci and the CDC accepted that over the course of the last week.

00:23:33.000 The reason is that now that we have such an overwhelming volume of cases coming in, many of which are without symptoms, there's the danger that this is going to have a really negative impact on our ability to really get society to function properly.

00:23:49.000 You're hearing reports from cities throughout the country of substantial percentages of firefighters, policemen, people with critical jobs who are infected and required to stay home in isolation for 10 days.

00:24:04.000 So the CDC made a decision to balance what's good for public health at the same time as keeping the society running.

00:24:12.000 But what if we just let the CDC do what it wants to do?

00:24:22.000 If the CDC had taken that approach from the beginning, then you were killing grandmas!

00:24:25.000 You remember this?

00:24:26.000 Go all the way back to the beginning.

00:24:27.000 Some of us said.

00:24:28.000 Trying to calm myself down here.

00:24:30.000 Some of us said at the beginning.

00:24:32.000 You know, there are a bunch of competing priorities here.

00:24:35.000 One is protecting the people who are most vulnerable.

00:24:38.000 The other is making sure we don't shut down the economy, destroy hundreds of thousands of small businesses, and wreck millions of lives. 0.97

00:24:43.000 And if you mention that, you're ready to kill Grandma. 0.97

00:24:46.000 It was all about murdering Grandma. 0.98

00:24:47.000 If you said that protecting people who are 80 should be the priority, and that you don't shut down all of society to protect the people who are 80, if you said this, it's because you wanted Grandma to die.

00:24:58.000 This is what it... You remember.

00:25:00.000 Now the CDC is, and people like Fauci saying this, well it's all about saving lives, you know, you gotta save lives.

00:25:05.000 That's the only important thing.

00:25:06.000 So you gotta mask up your grandmother, and then even after she's dead, you go into a graveyard, you dig it open if she's dead, and you put the mask on her skull, on her moldering skull.

00:25:15.000 You gotta make sure that her skin doesn't degrade into some sort of, you know, something terrible, like she gets COVID and then she dies again.

00:25:21.000 Because even though she's dead, she could die twice.

00:25:23.000 It's like double masking, double death.

00:25:24.000 You gotta be very, she might be mostly dead, not totally dead, mostly dead.

00:25:28.000 And then she infects the ground, it gets into the groundwater, and then some child in upstate New York might get COVID because of that. 0.89

00:25:34.000 It's very bad.

00:25:36.000 This was the shtick for two years.

00:25:38.000 And now all of a sudden, Anthony, you know guys, we might have to have some... So what changed?

00:25:43.000 The answer is all these people got COVID.

00:25:43.000 What changed?

00:25:46.000 That's the answer.

00:25:47.000 The answer is all these people got Omicron.

00:25:49.000 They all got Omicron.

00:25:50.000 Because they all got Omicron, they were like, oh, either I'm bad and I have sinned, or alternatively, new data has emerged from the sky.

00:26:00.000 And now I understand that we have to balance priorities.

00:26:03.000 And now that I say it, because I'm one of the good ones, we're all allowed to say it.

00:26:06.000 If you said it five months ago, that's because you were bad, and you should be banned from social media.

00:26:11.000 But if you say it today, it's because you're good, because you did all the things we asked you.

00:26:15.000 So here's the thing.

00:26:16.000 Even that provides cognitive dissonance for too many who are COVID lockdown fanatics.

00:26:21.000 They're still too freaked out.

00:26:22.000 They can't deal with it.

00:26:23.000 So immediately upon the left beginning to deal with reality, which by the way is a good thing. 0.98

00:26:28.000 I'm ripping on them because it's pathetic that we spent two years listening to these mewling idiots who don't bother to follow the data and are so consumed with their hatred of people on the other side of the political aisle that they are willing to rip on decent policy so long as the person promulgating the policy has an R next to their name. 1.00

00:26:46.000 I'm not even talking about people who are anti-vaccine. 0.99

00:26:47.000 You know, ripping on people who are anti-vaccine and pushing stuff that's not true about vaccines.

00:26:50.000 I'm talking about they're ripping on Ron DeSantis, for example, in Florida, who is pushing vaccine and vaccinated the elderly and protected them better than the great and sainted, late departed Andrew Cuomo of grabassery.

00:27:04.000 The fact that they were so engulfed in their own hatred of everybody who didn't think like them, that they embraced the position that was anti-data, and now that they have embraced the data-driven position, or started to embrace the data, now it's a good position.

00:27:18.000 Now you can take it.

00:27:19.000 But here's the thing, they can't deal with even that.

00:27:20.000 Because once you have enervated an entire population, those people are too scared.

00:27:25.000 They're too scared.

00:27:26.000 We have turned them into puddles of humanity.

00:27:30.000 These are people who are scared of their own shadow at this point.

00:27:32.000 And so the pushback has begun.

00:27:34.000 And you're starting to see people on the left going, wait, hold up.

00:27:37.000 Hold up.

00:27:38.000 Like, we're all getting Omicron, and you say Omicron isn't that bad, but I also know I'm supposed to be super scared.

00:27:43.000 I've been told for the last two years that I should be living in abject fear of this virus.

00:27:47.000 Whether I'm vaccinated, whether I have natural... I should be living day to day In terror, that the virus is going to crash through my door like the Kool-Aid man, and just bash me over the skull with a copy of the CDC handbook.

00:28:00.000 That's what I'm afraid of.

00:28:02.000 So how are you guys loosening up?

00:28:03.000 Dana Bash, representative of this class, here she is on CNN, trying to cudgel Dr. Fauci and the CDC back into line. 0.74

00:28:08.000 You know, maybe you guys shouldn't change the standard from 10 days to 5 days.

00:28:11.000 Maybe you should change it back to 10 days, because, you know, we wouldn't want to be realistic here at all.

00:28:16.000 These are relaxed, quarantined guidelines that came from the CDC, and they're coming under fire from some public health experts.

00:28:23.000 CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner sent out a tweet saying, quote, the latest CDC guidelines which allow people to leave isolation after five days without a test remind me of when the public was told we didn't need masks, when in reality the problem was the U.S.

00:28:39.000 didn't have masks.

00:28:41.000 You've always promised to follow the science, Dr. Fauci.

00:28:44.000 Is this driven by science or by the social and business pressure we were talking about?

00:28:51.000 Okay, and Fauci didn't have an answer for that because obviously it's a balance of the two.

00:28:56.000 Right?

00:28:56.000 It's a balance of the two.

00:28:57.000 Meaning that the underlying reality of not testing people after five days and sending them back into the workforce, the underlying reality is that we're not trying to stop the spread at this point.

00:29:06.000 And the reason we're not trying to stop the spread is because we can't.

00:29:08.000 And the reason that we can't is because this thing is wildly infectious.

00:29:11.000 And the very good news is that it being wildly infectious and also being not all that deadly All right, we can all live with that.

00:29:17.000 We can.

00:29:18.000 And if you're particularly immunocompromised or vulnerable, you should take special precautions for yourself.

00:29:22.000 Maybe you should isolate.

00:29:23.000 Otherwise, we're all gonna go back to work.

00:29:24.000 We're all gonna live our lives.

00:29:25.000 And those of us in Florida have been doing so for literally a year.

00:29:29.000 Those of us in Florida have been doing so for well over a year, maybe a year and a half at this point. 1.00

00:29:33.000 And that's why you're all vacationing down here, you jerks. 1.00

00:29:36.000 Go back home, go live in your miserable basements, being sad and miserable, triple masked, while staring at the walls, and worshipping an icon of St. 1.00

00:29:45.000 Fauci. 0.99

00:29:46.000 But again, the pushback has begun.

00:29:47.000 So now, Fauci begins to walk it back.

00:29:49.000 So, within five minutes of saying, yeah, we've got to take into account the actual realities of the situation on the ground, All of a sudden, Fauci's like, Well, you know, maybe we should reconsider.

00:29:59.000 I don't know.

00:29:59.000 Maybe we should be harsh again.

00:30:00.000 Who knows?

00:30:01.000 Will you love me, Dana?

00:30:02.000 If I say yes, will you love me?

00:30:04.000 Will you love Dr. Anton?

00:30:04.000 Will you?

00:30:05.000 I was on the cover of InTouch Magazine.

00:30:08.000 That's how special I am.

00:30:11.000 The likelihood of transmissibility is considerably lower in that second half of a ten-day period.

00:30:21.000 And for that reason, the CDC made the judgment that it would be relatively low risk to get people out.

00:30:29.000 You're right.

00:30:30.000 People are getting concerned about why not test people at that time.

00:30:34.000 I myself feel that that's a reasonable thing to do.

00:30:37.000 I believe that the CDC soon We'll be coming out with more clarification of that since it obviously has generated a number of questions about at that five day period, should you or should you not be testing people?

00:30:53.000 So then five seconds of him recognizing that reality is reality, he's immediately cuddled back into fantasy.

00:30:59.000 Maybe we should have tests of the asymptomatic to make sure that they're not transmitting.

00:31:03.000 Here's the thing.

00:31:04.000 I know people who have had COVID, and some of them are testing positive for COVID weeks after the fact.

00:31:09.000 Because it turns out that all a COVID test does, all a PCR test does, is test your nasal cavity, essentially, for presence of the virus.

00:31:18.000 Okay, but that doesn't mean that it's transmissible.

00:31:20.000 It could be dead virus.

00:31:21.000 It could be a virus you've already shed.

00:31:23.000 It also does not mean that that's super dangerous.

00:31:26.000 But it doesn't matter.

00:31:27.000 Now we're going to test the asymptomatic, which means back into soft lockdown.

00:31:30.000 Meanwhile, Dr. Fauci is going to continue to maintain the fiction that cloth masks are super effective against Omicron.

00:31:34.000 So now we have a Gottlieb and Wen versus Fauci battle.

00:31:37.000 Here's Fauci trying to uphold the efficacy of cloth masking against Omicron based on literally zero data.

00:31:44.000 Zero.

00:31:46.000 Are cotton and surgical masks effective at preventing the spread of Omicron?

00:31:51.000 When the CDC says they are effective, in fact, they are.

00:31:56.000 Are they as effective as an N95?

00:31:59.000 No.

00:32:00.000 But what was being said is rather wear a cotton or a surgical mask than not wear any mask at all.

00:32:08.000 And that's the point that was made.

00:32:09.000 I think it was a consideration that people were saying if they're not effective, well then don't wear them.

00:32:15.000 They have a degree of effectiveness and if that's the mask that's available to you, use it.

00:32:21.000 He's provided no data to support this.

00:32:23.000 None.

00:32:24.000 Zero. 0.86

00:32:25.000 And meanwhile in New York, by the way, they're continuing to maintain their garbage policy despite the fact that they have this record spike.

00:32:30.000 They have higher levels of Omicron in New York City than they ever had of Delta.

00:32:35.000 I mean, they're getting like 40,000 cases a day in New York City.

00:32:39.000 And Bill de Blasio, on his way out, announced these vax mandates that every business in New York was going to need to mandate that all of its employees were vaxxed.

00:32:47.000 Now, I know a bunch of business owners in New York, they're just going to relocate because half their employees are not vaxxed.

00:32:54.000 Half their employees have natural immunity.

00:32:55.000 There's no exception for natural immunity, by the way.

00:32:59.000 According to the New York Times, the spike has caused crippling shortages of workers that have forced restaurants to close, subway lines to shut down, Broadway theaters to shutter.

00:33:07.000 Concerns about the virus even caused the Westminster Kennel Club to postpone its January show.

00:33:12.000 The test positivity rate is above 20% in New York City.

00:33:14.000 So what did Eric Adams, the incoming mayor of New York, the great savior of New York, do?

00:33:18.000 What did he do?

00:33:19.000 He immediately doubled down and said that he's going to maintain de Blasio's vaccine mandate.

00:33:23.000 In the city of New York.

00:33:24.000 Well, we welcome all the actual productive taxpaying citizens of New York down to Florida.

00:33:28.000 Please vote like you didn't while you were in New York.

00:33:32.000 Because this is what you could decide to embrace.

00:33:34.000 So the Democrats are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

00:33:36.000 They really are.

00:33:36.000 You got Ron Klain retweeting Chris Hayes saying that Omicron is basically no worse than the flu.

00:33:43.000 Meanwhile, you got the Democrats saying, what if we just continue to soft lock down everything?

00:33:47.000 What if Omicron continued to lock down everything?

00:33:50.000 This is very bad for Democrats, right?

00:33:51.000 Because this is an election year.

00:33:52.000 So you guys, you have boxed yourselves in.

00:33:54.000 You have created an authoritarian box of your own making, and now you have locked yourself inside. 0.98

00:33:58.000 But unlike Harry Houdini, you can't actually get out, so you're screwed. 0.77

00:34:02.000 We'll get to that in one moment. 0.75

00:34:03.000 Because the Democrats do have a plan.

00:34:05.000 It's to say a thing over and over again.

00:34:07.000 We'll get to that in a moment first.

00:34:09.000 Right now, we have record low mortgage rates.

00:34:11.000 That is not going to last forever.

00:34:12.000 The Fed is going to taper.

00:34:13.000 They've made it clear this year they're going to raise interest rates maybe three times.

00:34:16.000 That means that if you're looking to refi your mortgage, now is the best time in human history.

00:34:20.000 Every day that passes, you know what's going to happen.

00:34:21.000 We're at risk of seeing higher rates.

00:34:23.000 It will cost you money.

00:35:20.000 One of your resolutions might be to read more.

00:35:22.000 I get a lot of people who have been emailing me over the course of years asking about the kind of books that I'm reading.

00:35:27.000 Well, as you know, I read all the time.

00:35:30.000 And I really believe that the books that we read help shape our worldview, which is why I'm super excited to kick off the brand new year by announcing my new book club.

00:35:38.000 Once a month, I'm going to be recommending a book.

00:35:39.000 It has cultural significance, not just new books or political books, classic books as well, some of which the left have chased out of classrooms.

00:35:45.000 These are the key pillars and the foundation of Western society.

00:35:48.000 Become a better you by reading the books that should be on everybody's list and read them along with me.

00:36:12.000 We will send you this month's book recommendation and some of the materials you'll need to participate in the members-only discussion.

00:36:18.000 On Thursday, January 20th.

00:36:19.000 That's thirdthursdaybookclub.com.

00:36:22.000 I can't wait to share my passion for reading with you.

00:36:25.000 Also, Do Not Comply has taken on an entirely new meaning for The Daily Wire this week.

00:36:29.000 This Friday, the Supreme Court convenes to hear arguments on the legality and constitutionality of Joe Biden's federal vaccine mandate.

00:36:36.000 That means this week will be pivotal in our fight against the Biden administration's authoritarian vaccine mandate.

00:36:40.000 We have over a million signatures.

00:36:42.000 On our Do Not Comply petition, we really appreciate that.

00:36:44.000 We would love to see that number increase dramatically before Friday when you sign the petition at dailywire.com slash do not comply.

00:36:50.000 You do help us send the message that the American people will not comply.

00:36:54.000 Head on over to dailywire.com slash do not comply right now.

00:36:57.000 We're counting on you to help us put a stop to the disgusting, tyrannical federal overreach that we are currently seeing.

00:37:02.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:37:05.000 Alrighty, so here's the thing.

00:37:12.000 All of the Democratic confusion, the Norman Osborne-Green Goblin personality split, it's just like the flu.

00:37:19.000 No, it's not just like the flu.

00:37:20.000 It's going to kill us all.

00:37:21.000 No, we can't test it.

00:37:23.000 We have to test the asymptomatic.

00:37:24.000 No, no, you mustn't.

00:37:26.000 They have to be let out after.

00:37:28.000 Watching all of this, the American public is having a nervous breakdown.

00:37:31.000 And because we are all having a nervous breakdown, apparently, this is having a rather large toll on businesses.

00:37:36.000 And this means that the Democrats are set for a shellacking in 2022, and they know it.

00:37:41.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, the rapid spread of COVID-19's Omicron variant is weighing on U.S.

00:37:45.000 businesses, keeping more workers homesick or quarantined, leading some companies to cut services and reduce hours.

00:37:50.000 The rise of COVID-19 infections to record levels in recent days has driven thousands of canceled flights, prompted retailers to train available employees on new jobs, closed some stores altogether.

00:37:59.000 The rapidly spreading Omicron variant is hitting businesses at a time when consumers' demand for products and services has surged.

00:38:05.000 Many companies are already struggling with staffing and supply chain challenges.

00:38:08.000 Now, let's make this very clear.

00:38:10.000 That's not because of Omicron.

00:38:11.000 This was a policy regarding Omicron.

00:38:13.000 As always, when you treat Omicron as a crisis and send lots of people who are asymptomatic home and force them to test, and when you have tens of thousands of people getting tests for asymptomatic or mild colds, You're going to end up with a soft lockdown.

00:38:25.000 This has some rather large ramifications for most Americans.

00:38:28.000 Meanwhile, stocks face a rockier path in 2022 as a Fed rate increase looms, according to the Wall Street Journal.

00:38:36.000 Okay, first of all, this was not an economic rebound stronger than most had expected.

00:38:38.000 interest rate increases is tempering investors optimism heading into 2022. A contrast to their vaccine and stimulus fueled enthusiasms of a year ago.

00:38:46.000 Investors had plenty to feel good about over the holidays, supported by an economic rebound even stronger than most had expected. The S&P 500 climbed at 27% in 2021. The third largest gain of the past 20 years. Okay, first of all, this was not an economic rebound stronger than most had expected. It was significantly weaker than most had expected. But heading into 2021, economists surveyed had expected that the US economy would grow 3.7%.

00:39:10.000 Instead, it likely expanded more than 5%, but inflation also expanded massively.

00:39:15.000 So the real growth rates were lower.

00:39:18.000 One major concern of investors is how different problems might feed on each other.

00:39:21.000 Fresh waves of COVID-19 cases caused by new or existing variants might slow economic growth by reducing consumer spending.

00:39:27.000 But some worry such surges could help sustain already hot inflation by contributing to supply chain problems and labor shortages.

00:39:33.000 Okay, so the Democrats' confused policy and their refusal to just go back to something mildly resembling normal means that they are going to pay the price.

00:39:41.000 Because here's the thing.

00:39:43.000 Here's why I say it's a problem of policy.

00:39:44.000 It is not a problem of Omicron, per se.

00:39:47.000 Because if you actually look at the states in the United States that, for example, did not engage in the stupidity of randomly lengthening the period of unemployment benefits ad infinitum, those states did fine in terms of job recovery.

00:40:01.000 The states that decided to continue to support people staying home for COVID, those states have not done particularly well in terms of job recovery.

00:40:10.000 According to a Wall Street Journal piece from the editorial board over at the Wall Street Journal, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly household survey, early termination of unemployment led to a 14 percentage point increase in the flow from unemployment to employment.

00:40:27.000 The unemployment rate among prime-age working Americans in the 24 states that maintain big benefits through Labor Day would have been 0.7 percentage points lower in August had they ended benefits in June.

00:40:37.000 The national unemployment rate would have been 0.3 percentage points lower had all states ended benefits early.

00:40:42.000 But Democrats want to keep blowing out the spending.

00:40:44.000 And everybody knows it.

00:40:46.000 And so Democrats are now in a state of panic.

00:40:48.000 Because Joe Biden's message is not resonating.

00:40:50.000 It's not resonating at all.

00:40:52.000 And so this leaves the Democratic media complex with a problem.

00:40:55.000 The problem is, if Joe Biden's message is not resonating, and if, in fact, we're about to see Fed rate increases, which means the stock market doesn't do what it did last year, and if that means that it's going to have an impact on employment rates, which typically happens when you raise interest rates, employment rates tend to go down a little bit.

00:41:11.000 If all that happens and people are still paranoid, then the Democrats are headed for a massive red wave in November.

00:41:20.000 And so the media have to do two things.

00:41:21.000 They have to do two things.

00:41:22.000 One, they have to somehow save Joe Biden.

00:41:25.000 And two, they have to come up with an alternative talking point to, you know, reality and current affairs.

00:41:31.000 And they've come up with both of these.

00:41:32.000 So the first thing that they've come up with is the idea that if you oppose Biden, it's because you're very, very bad.

00:41:36.000 So over the Christmas holiday, the biggest story in America for at least a couple of days, the biggest story in America is that Joe Biden was doing some sort of Christmas shtick from the fake Oval Office Where he called up a bunch of people, random people, as Santa was supposedly flying over their houses using the cute graphic from the Defense Department of Santa flying around.

00:42:03.000 Joe Biden was calling up random people and saying, can you see Santa from your house?

00:42:06.000 And one of the people he called up proceeded to drop, let's go Brandon on him.

00:42:09.000 And Joe Biden, because he does not know what year it is or which country he lives in or what office he holds, Joe Biden was like, that sounds great.

00:42:17.000 I also like Brandon.

00:42:20.000 I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas as well.

00:42:23.000 Merry Christmas and let's go Brandon.

00:42:26.000 Let's go Brandon.

00:42:27.000 I agree.

00:42:30.000 You can see it's dawning on Jill, right in that moment, that, um, that, that's not, that let's go, Brandon means F Joe Biden.

00:42:36.000 And Joe has no clue.

00:42:37.000 He's just saying, I agree.

00:42:38.000 Let's go, Brandon.

00:42:40.000 So the media made this, this was the worst story ever.

00:42:42.000 According to the media, this was the worst thing happening in America.

00:42:44.000 Not Omicron, not the fact that this guy took off for Delaware after basically abdicating all responsibility.

00:42:49.000 Not the fact that Democrats were decamping to Florida to party it up.

00:42:52.000 The biggest story in America is someone said something mildly rude, a euphemism.

00:42:56.000 For FU to Joe Biden on a public phone call.

00:43:00.000 End of world.

00:43:01.000 Because no one ever said anything mean to Trump.

00:43:02.000 Ever.

00:43:03.000 No one.

00:43:04.000 In fact, American politics has been replete with civility since the beginning.

00:43:07.000 Which is why Alexander Hamilton was shot dead in a duel with a man who was the Vice President of the United States.

00:43:13.000 So, yeah, there was that, you know.

00:43:16.000 But, you know, this was the worst thing.

00:43:18.000 I mean, the number of think pieces.

00:43:20.000 The number of think pieces.

00:43:22.000 About Let's Go Brandon, because the idea here again is that in the end, all Democrats have is their unearned sense of moral superiority.

00:43:29.000 That's all they have.

00:43:30.000 Those are all the things.

00:43:31.000 They don't have the efficacy.

00:43:33.000 They don't have a record of success here.

00:43:34.000 All they have is the unearned moral superiority and scare tactics, which is why they are panicking and they are freaking out.

00:43:41.000 And so now their new move is they're going to try to essentially change voting procedures to make it easier for Democrats to win.

00:43:49.000 That's their new move.

00:43:50.000 Their new move is, and there's only one way they can do that.

00:43:53.000 And that is by shifting the topic of conversation, which is what this week is going to be all about.

00:43:57.000 Because they're panicked, right?

00:43:58.000 What are they panicked over?

00:43:59.000 They're panicked over the fact that Republicans are about to take Congress.

00:44:01.000 And if Republicans take Congress, one of the things that they might do is ban things like ballot harvesting, which is a super corrupt practice by which Democrats basically hire a bunch of activists to go door-to-door to people who did not order an absentee ballot but were sent an absentee ballot by the Democrats in the state legislature.

00:44:18.000 They go door-to-door, they pick up the ballots.

00:44:20.000 Now, that's a recipe for voter fraud.

00:44:22.000 It's a recipe for it, because you're just going to somebody's door, and you know that person's a registered Democrat, and you tell them how to vote, and then they hand you the ballot.

00:44:30.000 Or they hand you the ballot and you fill it out for them.

00:44:32.000 All right, ballot harvesting is a really corrupt practice.

00:44:34.000 By the way, it's been used by both Republicans and Democrats, depending on where you are.

00:44:38.000 Just across the board, Democrats wish to enshrine that, Republicans wish to avoid that.

00:44:42.000 So Democrats are panicking.

00:44:44.000 And Democrats are looking at 2022.

00:44:45.000 And they know that their window of opportunity closes in 2022, because there is a very good shot that come the election in November, They're in real trouble.

00:44:56.000 And they can't stand it.

00:44:57.000 They know a bad year is coming.

00:44:59.000 I think, by the way, you know who knows more than anybody else that a bad year is coming?

00:45:02.000 It's Don Lemon from CNN.

00:45:03.000 So Don Lemon, he knows a bad year is coming.

00:45:05.000 So he was ripping on his haters, Don Lemon, the worst anchor in American news. 0.92

00:45:08.000 Here he was on New Year's Eve, drunk as a skunk. 1.00

00:45:12.000 The most trusted name in news.

00:45:14.000 Here we go.

00:45:16.000 I don't give a...

00:45:19.000 What do you think about me?

00:45:22.000 I don't care. 0.77

00:45:22.000 I'm a grown-ass man. 0.77

00:45:24.000 I don't care what you think about me.

00:45:26.000 I'm alive.

00:45:27.000 I am who I am.

00:45:28.000 I'm a grown, successful black man who a lot of people hate because then I use people seeing people like me in the position that I am.

00:45:36.000 To be able to share my point of view on television, it freaks people out.

00:45:41.000 And you know what? 0.99

00:45:42.000 You can kiss my behind. 1.00

00:45:43.000 I do not care. 1.00

00:45:44.000 I don't care.

00:45:45.000 Yeah, he doesn't care.

00:45:46.000 And you know what?

00:45:47.000 His lack of care, the media's lack of care, the Democrats' lack of care means they're about to get a whoopin' come November.

00:45:52.000 That election is going to be fun to watch as a conservative.

00:45:55.000 It's going to be very, very, or is it just a reasonable person?

00:45:57.000 I think it could be very fun to watch.

00:45:58.000 So Democrats have to, in short order, Democrats must come up with an alternative.

00:46:03.000 So here's the alternative Democrats have come up with.

00:46:05.000 Are you ready for it?

00:46:06.000 You ready?

00:46:07.000 Here we go.

00:46:07.000 It is, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, January 6th.

00:46:11.000 That's the alternative.

00:46:12.000 January 6th.

00:46:14.000 If the Democrats just say January 6th over and over, like Betelgeuse into the mirror, it will suddenly appear.

00:46:20.000 And then, if January 6th appears, then all will be made right with the world because you will remember that Donald Trump is a bad man, even though Donald Trump isn't on the ballot and isn't running for office this year. 0.97

00:46:29.000 And even though you are much more concerned over whether your real wages decreased over the course of the last year, and even though you're much more worried about whether your business is still going to be open this year, or whether you're allowed to send your kids to school, or are they going to mask up your four-year-old, even though you're worried about those things, what you really should be laser-focused on is the fact that some idiots and droogs went into the Capitol building on January 6th, were quickly expelled by the police within a couple of hours, and then Joe Biden was certified as the election winner. 0.94

00:46:55.000 That's what you're supposed to remember.

00:46:56.000 Huge.

00:46:58.000 Vastly important.

00:46:59.000 And the media and Democrats, they are always on message.

00:47:01.000 The propagandistic media is, it is an incredible thing.

00:47:06.000 So CNN is doing an entire Capitol celebration of January 6th, a commemoration.

00:47:13.000 And it really is a celebration because they're so happy this thing happened.

00:47:15.000 They are so happy that the Capitol building was invaded.

00:47:19.000 They're so happy about that.

00:47:20.000 The reason they're so happy about that is because they get to talk about it and try to proclaim that no matter how bad Democrats are at governing, at least they're not in league with weird Wagnerian helmet guy. 0.62

00:47:32.000 At least they're not in league with barbarian, droog, bare-chested, in-the-capital rotunda guy. 0.98

00:47:43.000 This is their final pitch.

00:47:45.000 So according to CNN, Several lawmakers and members of the law enforcement community tasked with protecting the U.S.

00:47:50.000 Capitol will mark the one-year anniversary of the deadly insurrection there next month during a live event hosted by CNN, the network announced Thursday.

00:47:56.000 So first of all, the deadly insurrection?

00:47:59.000 Let's just make clear. 0.99

00:48:01.000 First of all, calling it an insurrection is a bit of an overstatement because typically when you talk about an insurrection, you're talking about a military attack on an installation, not a bunch of idiots walking in unarmed and selfie-ing themselves while they're in the building. 0.92

00:48:16.000 That does not mean there weren't people attacking cops. 0.97

00:48:17.000 There were people attacking cops.

00:48:18.000 There were some cops that were injured.

00:48:20.000 The thing that made it deadly, by the way, the only person who was actually killed during that entire That entire debacle was Ashley Babbitt, who was one of the rioters that she shot to death.

00:48:30.000 All the other officers who died that day or in the surrounding days, there's no evidence that they died because of January 6th.

00:48:36.000 That is not to downplay what January 6th was.

00:48:37.000 I think it was an awful image for the United States.

00:48:39.000 I thought it was a terrible image for the rest of the world.

00:48:42.000 I thought it was ugly. 1.00

00:48:42.000 I thought it was stupid. 1.00

00:48:44.000 I thought it had nothing to do with reality. 1.00

00:48:46.000 I thought it was propagated.

00:48:47.000 I thought that the people who were there were operating under assumptions that were untrue, propagated by the President of the United States.

00:48:54.000 All of that does not make it a deadly insurrection, right?

00:48:57.000 But that's how CNN is going to cover it.

00:49:00.000 They're not covering the one-year anniversary.

00:49:01.000 They didn't cover it last summer, the one-year anniversary of the Black Lives Matter riots that caused $5 billion in uninsured property damage and ended with the deaths of, I believe, a couple of dozen people.

00:49:13.000 But they are going to have a full-on Inauguration-style coverage of the one-year anniversary of a few hundred people breaking the windows at the Capitol building and then being expelled by the Capitol Police who got there late.

00:49:27.000 Live from the Capitol, January 6th, one year later, will air on January 6th, 2022, exactly one year after the riot, quote, honoring the heroes who protected our democracy in the face of an insurrection, according to a release.

00:49:37.000 Okay, so I look forward to the interview.

00:49:40.000 With Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, both of whom were in charge of the actual certification of the election.

00:49:47.000 The two-hour conversation will feature Nancy Pelosi, as well as Democratic Representatives Lisa Blunt, Rochester of Delaware, Jason Crow of Colorado, Veronica Escobar of Texas, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Dan Kildee of Michigan, and Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.

00:50:02.000 Wow.

00:50:03.000 Sounds riveting.

00:50:04.000 Riveting, riveting stuff.

00:50:06.000 Now again, the real reason that the Democrats are doing this is made clear by Politico today.

00:50:11.000 They have to drive the panic.

00:50:12.000 The panic is that we are on the verge of the overturn of democracy here in the United States.

00:50:16.000 Democracy is on its last legs.

00:50:18.000 Now, here is the thing.

00:50:20.000 There was no institutional support for the people who went in the Capitol.

00:50:23.000 They are all going to jail.

00:50:25.000 Many of them have already been sentenced.

00:50:27.000 Many of them are still sitting in jail awaiting trial.

00:50:30.000 There was no major corporate media support for this.

00:50:33.000 None.

00:50:35.000 This notion that there are like a bunch of people on TV cheering it on, find them!

00:50:39.000 Where are they? 0.99

00:50:41.000 Even the much maligned Fox News hosts, who were supposedly supportive of this, were apparently texting Donald Trump Direct, being like, stop this crap! 0.95

00:50:50.000 The entire corporate world, with regard to Black Lives Matter, put out statements in support of Black Lives Matter. 0.99

00:50:57.000 Nary a word about the violence, about the looting, about the murderers.

00:51:01.000 Nothing.

00:51:02.000 Nothing.

00:51:02.000 All, by the way, based on a giant lie that America's law enforcement is systemically racist, which is the sole reason why you have a discrepancy and a disparity between the number of blacks and whites in prison.

00:51:12.000 When it came to January 6th, which has no institutional support, That is the threat to the democracy.

00:51:18.000 And they have to up the threat, right?

00:51:19.000 They have to talk about how deep the threat was.

00:51:21.000 And this is why you have Politico reporting all of these various polls showing that America's on the precipice of disaster.

00:51:28.000 Precipice.

00:51:29.000 We're all going to die.

00:51:30.000 It's the end.

00:51:31.000 If Democrats retain power, everything will be fine.

00:51:34.000 If Republicans take power, all will end.

00:51:39.000 According to Politico, roughly 4 in 10 Republicans and independents say that violence action against the government is sometimes justified, according to a startling new Washington Post-University of Maryland poll.

00:51:49.000 Overall, the percentage of Americans who say violence action against the government is justified at times stands at 34%, which is considerably higher than in past polls by The Post or other major news organizations.

00:51:59.000 Again, the view is partisan.

00:52:00.000 The News Survey finds 40% of Republicans, 41% of Independents, 23% of Democrats saying violence is sometimes justified.

00:52:07.000 By the way, that is a too broad poll question.

00:52:09.000 The question is not, is violence justified right now?

00:52:12.000 The question is, is violence against the government sometimes justified?

00:52:15.000 In a country where a revolution was literally fought against the prevailing government, the answer is yes.

00:52:19.000 Sometimes violence against the government is justified.

00:52:21.000 It depends on what the government is trying to do is the answer.

00:52:23.000 That doesn't mean violence right now.

00:52:26.000 It doesn't mean violence based on current policy.

00:52:29.000 But I think it would be hard pressed to say that violence against, say, the state governments of Alabama in 1861 was unjustified.

00:52:36.000 I feel like it was kind of justified, wasn't it?

00:52:38.000 I mean, they were propagating slaveholding.

00:52:41.000 So, again, treating that as like, oh my god, it's all gonna- To get the dead giveaway in that particular poll is that 41% of independents agree with Republicans.

00:52:49.000 Okay, then, there's another poll.

00:52:51.000 A new CBS YouGov poll finds 68% of respondents see the January 6th attacks as a harbinger of increasing political violence, not an isolated incident.

00:53:00.000 Well, you can't lament the message that you guys have been promoting being taken up by the American public.

00:53:05.000 You guys keep saying over and over, it's the end of democracy.

00:53:07.000 And then you poll Americans.

00:53:08.000 They're like, well, I guess it's the end of democracy.

00:53:09.000 Like, my God, I'm shocked.

00:53:10.000 They say it's the end of democracy.

00:53:12.000 Yet you keep telling them that, guys.

00:53:15.000 Here's my favorite poll stat.

00:53:16.000 You ready?

00:53:17.000 12% of the country, a fifth of Trump's 2020 voters, want Trump to fight to retake the presidency right now before the next election.

00:53:24.000 A third of the people within that 12% say he should use force if necessary.

00:53:27.000 4% of the population, But that amounts to millions of Americans.

00:53:34.000 Question, what's the margin of error?

00:53:36.000 The margin of error on these types of polls is typically 2 to 4%.

00:53:38.000 So in other words, the answer is pretty much no one thinks that Donald Trump should initiate a violent coup against the American government.

00:53:45.000 They're like, well, we gotta panic.

00:53:47.000 It's at 4%.

00:53:48.000 Like, 10% of Americans still think Elvis is alive.

00:53:51.000 What are you talking about?

00:53:52.000 The CBS crosstabs are equally telling, says Politico.

00:53:58.000 Among Democrats, 85% called the riot an insurrection, in which people were trying to overthrow the government.

00:54:03.000 Among Republicans, only 21% said that.

00:54:06.000 18% said they were trying to overthrow the government.

00:54:10.000 GOP voters were more likely to say the rioters were motivated by defending freedom or patriotism.

00:54:15.000 Okay, well, maybe that's because everything is completely and utterly reactionary.

00:54:19.000 And so you guys keep talking January 6th, and so a bunch of people on the right are like, well, then it must be good if you guys hate it.

00:54:24.000 In any case, what is this really about?

00:54:26.000 What this is really about for the Democrats is pushing forward their rejiggering of federal voting law.

00:54:32.000 That's why they're pushing this so hard.

00:54:33.000 And the media is complicit.

00:54:34.000 The New York Times has an entire piece called Every Day is January 6th Now.

00:54:38.000 Every day. 1.00

00:54:39.000 Now, if it is for you, it's because you're a crazy person. 0.96

00:54:41.000 I mean, I don't know if you are, Bill Murray, and you're waking up in Washington, D.C., and every time you hit that clock, I need a little hand in mine, and it's January 6th again. 0.98

00:54:49.000 My God, the insurrection has begun.

00:54:51.000 No, no.

00:54:54.000 But from the New York Times, they wish it to be January 6th every day, because January 6th was the day the Republicans were the worst.

00:55:01.000 And it's not today.

00:55:02.000 It is not, in fact, January 3rd, 2022.

00:55:05.000 It is January 6th, 2021.

00:55:08.000 Forever.

00:55:08.000 Because that was the day they had to be the best people in the world, because they weren't you.

00:55:12.000 And you weren't there.

00:55:13.000 You weren't the person who broke into the Capitol. 0.98

00:55:15.000 You may have thought that sucked.

00:55:16.000 You may have criticized, but you were with them, weren't you?

00:55:18.000 Because you're not with us.

00:55:19.000 And that's all that matters.

00:55:20.000 The New York Times has a piece, quote, One year after the smoke and broken glass, the mock gallows, and the very real bloodshed of that awful day, it is tempting to look back and imagine what we can, in fact, simply look back.

00:55:31.000 To imagine that what happened on January 6th was horrifying, but that it is in the past and that we as a nation have moved on.

00:55:37.000 That is an understandable impulse.

00:55:38.000 After four years of chaos, cruelty, and incompetence culminating in a pandemic and the once unthinkable trauma of January 6th, most Americans were desperate for some peace and quiet.

00:55:47.000 I love that sentence.

00:55:48.000 It culminated in a pandemic, right?

00:55:50.000 It's Trump's fault, the pandemic. 0.59

00:55:52.000 Four years of chaos and cruelty and incompetence. 0.94

00:55:55.000 It was the worst administration. 1.00

00:55:56.000 I mean, sure, we had a booming economy, and sure, we didn't engage in any foreign wars, but Trump did tweet some mean crap. 0.98

00:56:03.000 Says the New York Times, on the surface, we've achieved peace and quiet. 0.98

00:56:05.000 Really?

00:56:06.000 I feel like people are kind of unhappy.

00:56:07.000 The president has a 41% approval rating.

00:56:09.000 Our political life seems more or less normal these days.

00:56:12.000 As the president pardons turkeys and Congress quarrels over spending bills, but peel back a layer, then things are far from normal.

00:56:18.000 January 6th is not in the past.

00:56:19.000 It is every day.

00:56:22.000 Every day.

00:56:25.000 And so we must look forward.

00:56:27.000 Hundreds of bills have been proposed.

00:56:28.000 Nearly three dozen laws have been passed that empower state legislatures to sabotage their own elections, overturn the will of their voters.

00:56:35.000 Some bills would change the rules to make it easier for lawmakers to reject the votes of their citizens if they don't like the outcome.

00:56:39.000 By the way, those bills have not passed.

00:56:41.000 Others replace professional election officials with partisan actors.

00:56:45.000 Yet more attempt to criminalize human errors by election officials, in some cases even threatening prison. 0.84

00:56:50.000 This is why what we need is to kill the filibuster. 0.94

00:57:03.000 This is what they say. 0.58

00:57:05.000 They say Democrats hold unified power.

00:57:07.000 They're not confronting the urgency of the moment.

00:57:10.000 What we have to do is basically kill the filibuster, and then we have to pass a bunch of new laws, including the For the People Act, which is the voting act that would completely rejigger voting in the United States.

00:57:21.000 That's what they want.

00:57:22.000 So their solution is they know they're gonna lose in 2022, so they're gonna rig the rules.

00:57:26.000 They're gonna rig the rules by shouting that if they don't rig the rules, January 6th will happen every day.

00:57:30.000 Right, this is their shtick.

00:57:32.000 For example, Benny Thompson, who's the January 6th chairman representative, He says that the, he says that January 6th could happen again.

00:57:41.000 He's deeply worried January 6th could happen again.

00:57:44.000 Hmm.

00:57:45.000 Interesting.

00:57:46.000 Okay.

00:57:46.000 Because, um, I have noticed that some Democrats have denied election results in the past, but apparently this is the only day that has ever happened is January.

00:57:52.000 Just like the world began turning the day that Donald Trump was elected.

00:57:56.000 It apparently ceased turning on January 6th.

00:57:59.000 It's amazing.

00:58:01.000 Donald Trump is the center of these people's universe and now he's not theirs. 0.68

00:58:05.000 I guess he's just a black hole at the center of their universe. 0.81

00:58:07.000 Here we go.

00:58:09.000 Are you worried that an attack on our democracy like we're seeing right there with our own two eyes on January 6th last year could happen again going forward?

00:58:23.000 Yes I am.

00:58:24.000 I committed to it to Capitol.

00:58:27.000 We saw all those points and some others that's not in that video that really causes us significant concern that unless we get it right, given the attitude of what's occurring in this country now.

00:58:43.000 It could happen again. Okay, so what's their solution?

00:58:46.000 Their solution, of course, is rig the voting procedures. And this is their their actual solution, just like they did in Pennsylvania, right? They've avoided the Pennsylvania state constitution and simply crammed down the everybody gets to vote absentee. We have to have drop boxes everywhere, ballot harvesting up the wazoo. This is what they wish to do federally. And the way that they're going to gin up support for this is by claiming that if they don't do this, every election will be you have to let us steal the next election so that you don't steal the election. If we steal it, you can't steal it.

00:59:12.000 That is the logic here.

00:59:14.000 So this is why CNN is hosting retired General Steven Anderson saying that the military might facilitate a 2024 threat from within.

00:59:22.000 This is alarmist bullcrap.

00:59:24.000 It's just not true.

00:59:26.000 You know, there's a threat within.

00:59:28.000 We've got some people that just haven't been educated.

00:59:31.000 They haven't been found out and they've grown in power Um, through perhaps inaction, uh, on the parts of some of our key leaders.

00:59:41.000 And we need to do what we can do now to identify those people, get them out of our ranks and train the rest of the force on Civics 101 about how our country is supposed to work, how elections work.

00:59:53.000 Stop listening to the pillow guy and start learning about our country and how it's actually supposed to run.

01:00:00.000 It's a threat within the military.

01:00:01.000 It's a threat that's coming directly from... So again, if you ramp up the alarmism, what do you get?

01:00:05.000 You get to do all the things that you wanted to do, which is really what it's about.

01:00:08.000 As Politico reports today, quote, it's going to be an emotional week for a lot of people on Capitol Hill.

01:00:13.000 But the one year anniversary of the January 6th Capitol siege Thursday, Congress is planning an array of memorials and speeches to commemorate one of the darkest days in American history.

01:00:22.000 Okay, it was a very dark day in American history.

01:00:24.000 It was not, in fact, one of the top five to ten darkest days in American history.

01:00:28.000 You know, the reason that I say that is because we've had some pretty dark days.

01:00:32.000 We've had presidents who have been assassinated.

01:00:33.000 John F. Kennedy had his head blown off in public.

01:00:36.000 We've had literally, I mean, the Senate building was bombed in the 1970s.

01:00:40.000 We had a giant civil war in this country.

01:00:42.000 We had a century of Jim Crow. 0.98

01:00:44.000 Like, this one is not at the top of the list.

01:00:46.000 If you exaggerate the threat, you get to do what you want to do.

01:00:48.000 Democrats are hoping Thursday will be more than just a day of remembrance.

01:00:52.000 In the Senate, we hear from well-positioned sources there's a desire to take the opportunity to supercharge the party's long-stalled voting rights legislation, possibly even using the anniversary to try to get Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin to go nuclear on the filibuster or embrace rules changes.

01:01:07.000 Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is expected to lay out a plan today that will bring the party's push to nationalize voting rights protections to the floor in the coming days.

01:01:15.000 A week, Democrats will argue that a flurry of voting restrictions that have passed in GOP-controlled states over the last year are a direct result of the January 6th riots and the big lie promulgated by former President Donald Trump, and that democracy is still very much on the line.

01:01:28.000 So we have to kill the filibuster, and then we have to cram through a bill that's not only going to allow, it's going to mandate that states allow ballot harvesting across the spectrum, for example.

01:01:39.000 And that absentee ballots are just sent directly to your house regardless of whether you requested one or not.

01:01:43.000 And that the time of voting be expanded dramatically, even though we really all should be voting on Election Day.

01:01:50.000 This is required.

01:01:51.000 You have to let us change all the rules about voting so that you don't steal democracy.

01:01:56.000 Guys, to save democracy, because a bunch of people went into the Capitol building and tried to beat police officers and now go to jail, or are already in jail.

01:02:05.000 Because that happened, you have to let us kill the filibuster in the Senate, overhaul America's voting procedures, and federalize everything. 0.90

01:02:13.000 That's how to save democracy.

01:02:15.000 If you allow us to kill democracy, it will 100% save democracy.

01:02:19.000 This is what they are talking about right now.

01:02:22.000 Some Democrats think an argument pegged to January 6th could win over Sinema and Manchin, the party's two major holdouts against making an end run around the filibuster.

01:02:30.000 Schumer has signaled that when the bill goes down, he will open a debate about changing Senate rules to enable passage of voting measures without the chamber's 60-vote threshold.

01:02:38.000 That debate could push into next week as the party puts the squeeze on cinema and mansion. 0.67

01:02:42.000 Will this work?
