00:00:00.000 Joe Biden declares victory is on the way against COVID while taking credit for a bunch of stuff he didn't actually do.
00:00:05.000 The Pentagon attacks Tucker Carlson.
00:00:07.000 And Amazon says it will not allow books that contradicts the LGBTQ plus agenda.
00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:12.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:19.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.
00:00:21.000 Thousands of my listeners have already secured their internet.
00:00:23.000 Join them at expressvpn.com.
00:00:26.000 Slash, Ben will get to all the news in just one moment, including President Houseplant's big speech last night on COVID.
00:00:31.000 First, let me remind you, you are spending way too much on that cell phone bill.
00:00:34.000 The word is now out.
00:00:35.000 People are abandoning their overpriced wireless carriers.
00:00:38.000 They are flocking to Pure Talk for the same coverage, but at a fraction of the price.
00:00:41.000 That is correct.
00:00:42.000 If you're with Amazon or Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, switching to Pure Talk Could save your family over $800 a year.
00:00:49.000 Switching is really easy.
00:00:50.000 You can keep your phone, keep your number, or get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids.
00:00:54.000 And right now, you can get unlimited talk tech, 6 gigs of data for just $30 a month.
00:00:58.000 And if you go over on data, they're not going to charge you for it.
00:01:00.000 There's a reason.
00:01:01.000 Pure Talk is the highest rated wireless company by Consumer Affairs.
00:01:04.000 Stop giving your money to those overpriced wireless carriers.
00:01:06.000 Start saving money today.
00:01:07.000 Here's the thing.
00:01:09.000 A lot of these wireless carriers, they'll trick you.
00:01:10.000 They'll tell you that what you actually need is unlimited data.
00:01:12.000 But you're not using unlimited data.
00:01:13.000 You're not using anything close to unlimited data.
00:01:15.000 Why not instead get unlimited talk, text, and 6 gigs of data for $30 a month?
00:01:19.000 And if you go over, they're not going to charge you extra for it anyway.
00:01:22.000 From your cell phone, dial pound 250, say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:25.000 You will save 50% off your very first month.
00:01:27.000 That is £2.50.
00:01:28.000 Say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:30.000 Pure Talk is simply smarter wireless.
00:01:31.000 Again, dial £2.50.
00:01:33.000 Say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:34.000 Save 50% off your very first month.
00:01:37.000 Alrighty, so last night was Joe Biden's victory lap.
00:01:40.000 It was very slow.
00:01:41.000 Had to take a few breathers.
00:01:42.000 Had to lie down a little bit.
00:01:44.000 Maybe hit the toilet for a metamucil break.
00:01:47.000 But Joe eventually made it.
00:01:49.000 Yesterday, he signed this enormous $1.9 trillion bill.
00:01:53.000 Thank you for being here.
00:01:54.000 Remember earlier this week when the Washington Post was saying every moment that this bill is delayed, people are dying.
00:02:00.000 So they delayed for like 24 hours so he could sign the bill.
00:02:02.000 Then of course he signed the bill and then he left without answering questions because President Houseplant must be protected at all costs.
00:02:07.000 He's hiding the water stain guys.
00:02:09.000 If ever you move to Houseplant, we're all gonna see the water stain.
00:02:12.000 So yesterday President Houseplant signs the bill and then just leaves because that's what he does now.
00:02:18.000 Thank you for being here.
00:02:20.000 Where am I though?
00:02:24.000 Where is here?
00:02:25.000 Up and out.
00:02:34.000 Catch you later.
00:02:35.000 And he's gonna stroll right on out because that is the way things are done here at the Biden White House.
00:02:40.000 Okay, so last night, he does this big primetime speech.
00:02:43.000 His first primetime address as President of the United States.
00:02:45.000 He still has not done a press conference.
00:02:47.000 We're 100, something like 50 days in.
00:02:50.000 This is the longest stretch that we have gone without a presidential press conference in modern American history, I believe, for a person who just entered office.
00:02:59.000 So he gave a big primetime address last night.
00:03:01.000 And the media found it absolutely inspiring because, of course, they're going to find anything the man does inspiring.
00:03:06.000 If he if he hot boxes them, if he farts in a car with them, it is inspiring stuff for the media.
00:03:11.000 So ABC, I just have to show you how ABC trotted this thing out because it is indicative of how the news media treat Joe Biden.
00:03:19.000 So whenever Trump did a speech would be controversial, embattled President Donald Trump gives a speech from the Oval Office.
00:03:25.000 Will he be able to pull out of his tailspin?
00:03:26.000 That's the framing.
00:03:27.000 Now it's Joe Biden is here to save us all.
00:03:30.000 The empath in chief is here to cry with us and to give us giant lump sums of cash.
00:03:36.000 And my God, what a magnificent, magnificent old man.
00:03:39.000 Here is ABC News' lead up to Joe Biden's incredible speech last night.
00:03:44.000 This is an ABC News special report.
00:03:47.000 The pandemic, one year later.
00:03:50.000 Where does America go from here?
00:03:53.000 A new chapter.
00:03:54.000 Vaccinations ramping up.
00:03:56.000 More than 64 million Americans now with at least one dose of the vaccine.
00:04:01.000 And a promise of a big enough vaccine supply for all adults in this country by the end of May.
00:04:07.000 The historic new COVID relief bill now signed into law.
00:04:11.000 I mean, that's unbelievable.
00:04:12.000 That's cut directly by the DNC, right?
00:04:13.000 Except it's ABC.
00:04:14.000 Wrong initials.
00:04:14.000 year. How soon will help arrive? And as a country honors more than 528,000 lives lost, we must also ask about our future and how soon before America can find some form of normalcy. Tonight in primetime, President Biden addresses the nation. I mean, that's unbelievable. That's cut directly by the DNC, right? Except it's ABC. Wrong initials. That is your news media. Joe Biden bringing us hope.
00:04:43.000 When will we return to normalcy?
00:04:44.000 A historic relief bill.
00:04:47.000 Shove it, man.
00:04:48.000 Okay, so anyway, Joe Biden finally gives this speech, and the speech is not good.
00:04:53.000 The speech is filled with untruths.
00:04:55.000 He continues to maintain the fiction that COVID is going to burst out at any second and eat your face, that COVID is going to rise in any moment, and that he must maintain control, and also that apparently he created the vaccine, he created the vaccine rollout, and he ended COVID.
00:05:08.000 Amazing for a man who has been asleep for the last several years.
00:05:11.000 He's the Rip Van Winkle of COVID.
00:05:13.000 He went to sleep, and when he woke up, COVID was over, but now he thinks that it's actually his victory.
00:05:17.000 He's the one who did it.
00:05:19.000 So, he leads off by talking about how the virus led off, and what he says is not true.
00:05:24.000 Okay, the virus was already spreading by February.
00:05:26.000 This we know.
00:05:27.000 In the United States, it was spreading by February.
00:05:29.000 This dude was doing rallies as of March 10th of last year.
00:05:32.000 Okay, currently, today, it is March 12th, So he's like, well, you know, a year ago we met and people were just dismissing the virus.
00:05:39.000 Yeah, literally a year ago, you were doing rallies, man.
00:05:42.000 OK, here here's Joe Biden pretending that all of his predecessors, particularly Trump, ignored the virus, even though I seem to remember everybody being locked in their home last year around this time.
00:05:52.000 A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked.
00:06:00.000 Denials for days, weeks, then months.
00:06:04.000 That led to more deaths, more infections, more stress, and more loneliness.
00:06:10.000 Weird, because, you know, one of the people you guys were championing was Andrew Cuomo, the number two guy in terms of deaths per million.
00:06:15.000 Also Phil Murphy, number one guy in terms of deaths per million.
00:06:18.000 So what exactly is your suggestion, Joe Biden, considering that it was people like Dr. Anthony Fauci telling people not to mask up, and that the major metros of the United States actually did lock down?
00:06:29.000 None of this happens to be accurate.
00:06:31.000 Then, he gets to his point.
00:06:33.000 We're only going to get back to our lives by defeating the virus.
00:06:37.000 Again, you didn't do anything, dude.
00:06:39.000 The parade was moving, and then they wheeled you out in front of it, and then you claimed that you are leading the parade.
00:06:45.000 That's not how any of this works.
00:06:47.000 You're just Harrison Ford in The Fugitive, infiltrating the parade, and putting on a green hat, and pretending you're there for St.
00:06:51.000 Patrick's Day.
00:06:52.000 That's not what this is.
00:06:53.000 Okay, the parade was already moving.
00:06:56.000 You moving out in front of it, and then claiming... 0.76
00:06:59.000 I'm sorry, this is ridiculous.
00:07:01.000 Here he is.
00:07:02.000 And for all of you asking when things will get back to normal, here is the truth.
00:07:09.000 The only way to get our lives back, to get our economy back on track, is to beat the virus.
00:07:16.000 You've been hearing me say that for while I was running and the last 50 days I've been president.
00:07:23.000 But this is one of the most complex operations we've ever undertaken as a nation in a long time.
00:07:31.000 OK, he is not coherent.
00:07:32.000 He's not saying things that are true.
00:07:35.000 And when he is saying things that are true, they're complete platitudes.
00:07:37.000 The only way to get back to normal is to defeat the virus.
00:07:40.000 Who would have thought, guys?
00:07:41.000 Who would have thought that the only way to get back to normal is when the virus starts to wane?
00:07:46.000 Unique thoughts from Joe Biden.
00:07:48.000 By the way, even that is not wholly true.
00:07:50.000 The virus was still around last summer.
00:07:52.000 States like Florida opened up.
00:07:54.000 People were allowed to make their own decisions.
00:07:56.000 And you know what happened?
00:07:57.000 Florida outperformed all of Joe Biden's favorite states.
00:08:00.000 Then Joe Biden starts taking credit for stuff. 0.89
00:08:02.000 And this part is the most ridiculous thing.
00:08:03.000 By the time he took office, we were already giving a million shots a day.
00:08:06.000 We were already on pace to give 100 million shots in 100 days because we were already giving a million shots per day by the time the guy took office.
00:08:11.000 Okay, and now he's taking credit for the elderly getting their shots.
00:08:14.000 Remember, by the end of February, he was supposed to have set up 100 federal sites all around the country for mass vaccination.
00:08:19.000 The actual number of sites set up by Joe Biden, according to the Associated Press, seven.
00:08:25.000 So, no, you don't get to take credit for the elderly getting their shots.
00:08:28.000 You know who gets to take credit for that?
00:08:29.000 The various governors who've actually made sure that the elderly get their shots.
00:08:32.000 You know how you can tell?
00:08:33.000 Because there are certain areas where they've done a crappy job making sure the elderly can get their shots because they've been instead tranching out the vaccines based on equity, meaning based on race, as opposed to based on age, which makes no sense at all.
00:08:45.000 But here is Joe Biden taking credit for stuff that he's not responsible for, as he has pretty much his entire career.
00:08:50.000 Remember, the only reason he's president is because he was Barack Obama's vice president.
00:08:54.000 He's not responsible for anything that he has done over the course of the last several months.
00:08:58.000 He was the default against Bernie Sanders because basically everybody said, I'd rather vote for the corpse than vote for the socialist.
00:09:04.000 And then he was the default against Trump because they said, I'd rather vote for the corpse than vote for orange man bad.
00:09:09.000 And then he takes advantage of a vaccine program not created by him and a distribution program not headed by him, and then says that he is the guy who made all of it happen, which is just not true.
00:09:17.000 And the media, of course, are just They're just sycophantically drooling over the guy.
00:09:22.000 Which is unbelievable.
00:09:23.000 Because again, he is a houseplant.
00:09:24.000 Okay, I understand that you like to houseplant.
00:09:27.000 I understand that geraniums are nice.
00:09:29.000 But guess what?
00:09:30.000 The president being a houseplant does not make him a leader.
00:09:32.000 You can't simultaneously be a leader and a houseplant.
00:09:35.000 Here's President Houseplant taking credit for things.
00:09:38.000 When I took office 50 days ago, only 8% of Americans, after months, Only 8% of those over the age of 65 have gotten their first vaccination.
00:09:50.000 Today, that number is 65%.
00:09:55.000 Just 14% of Americans over the age of 75, 50 days ago, had gotten their first shot.
00:10:03.000 Today, that number is well over 70%.
00:10:07.000 Okay, so a couple things.
00:10:08.000 One, he's citing the increase in the percentages.
00:10:11.000 They were already ramping up.
00:10:12.000 You can see the line.
00:10:14.000 You can see the line.
00:10:15.000 If you look at the actual line as to the percentages of people who are getting vaccine, What you'll see is it does not look exponential.
00:10:21.000 It does not look like it was a low rate and then Biden came in and magically fixed the program and then all of a sudden it started to skyrocket.
00:10:26.000 That's not what it looks like.
00:10:27.000 It looks like a consistent arithmetic increase.
00:10:29.000 Okay, that's what it looks like.
00:10:31.000 But here he is saying that he is responsible solely for the increase in the number of the elderly vaccinated.
00:10:36.000 His own CDC was recommending standards that did not actually comply with the idea that we were going to do it based on age.
00:10:44.000 States that actually tranched it out to the elderly were doing it in spite of Biden.
00:10:47.000 They were doing it in spite of the CDC.
00:10:49.000 We read you the CDC standards.
00:10:51.000 The CDC standards took into account equity.
00:10:53.000 They suggested that frontline workers who were 20, because they were disproportionately minority, ought to be given the vaccine alongside 75-year-olds, which made no sense at all.
00:11:03.000 It was only under pressure the CDC even walked that back.
00:11:06.000 So, the way that this works is that Joe Biden is going to take credit for everything Ron DeSantis did well, and then he's going to yell at Ron DeSantis for being a bad governor.
00:11:13.000 That's the way all of this works, basically.
00:11:15.000 He is not responsible for any of this.
00:11:17.000 He has not overseen a damned thing.
00:11:19.000 Okay? 0.62
00:11:20.000 It has been states that have overseen this stuff.
00:11:21.000 He had one job.
00:11:22.000 His one job was to obtain the vaccine.
00:11:24.000 Any president worth his salt would have done so.
00:11:26.000 He has now obtained, for some odd reason, four times the amount of vaccine that the United States actually needs.
00:11:31.000 And now he's claiming credit for a vaccine distribution program that he does not head.
00:11:35.000 It is all headed locally and state based.
00:11:37.000 Hey, now Biden makes a big announcement.
00:11:39.000 So you saw it in that ABC News, that ABC News sexual favor to Joe Biden, where he said, wow, he's going to he announces that everyone will be eligible to get the shot by May 1st.
00:11:49.000 I'm going to order it.
00:11:51.000 Okay buddy, let's just be straight about this.
00:11:54.000 Everybody is going to be getting the shot by May 1st without you.
00:11:58.000 Without you. 0.99
00:11:59.000 All the adults are going to be getting the shot, having nothing to do with your silly edict. 0.94
00:12:04.000 You know who promised that we would actually all have the shots by the beginning of June and y'all mocked him? 0.94
00:12:09.000 President Trump.
00:12:10.000 Now it's been accelerated by one month because governors have done a better job than you did, by the way.
00:12:15.000 And now you're saying, oh, well, look at me.
00:12:17.000 I've never seen somebody so, it really is, it's amazing.
00:12:20.000 He is eager to just get out in front of parades that he did not create and that are not for him.
00:12:27.000 It's bizarro world.
00:12:28.000 Here he was saying adults are gonna be able to get the shots by May 1st and the media treating this as transformative.
00:12:32.000 The folks over at the New York Times, it's amazing!
00:12:34.000 What an amazing promise!
00:12:36.000 All the adults are gonna be able to get the vaccine.
00:12:39.000 Adults are already getting the vaccines.
00:12:41.000 Adults are already getting the vaccines.
00:12:43.000 That has nothing to do with his magical edict.
00:12:45.000 Here he is.
00:12:47.000 The houseplant.
00:12:49.000 Tonight, I'm announcing that I will direct all states, tribes, and territories to make all adults, people 18 and over, eligible to be vaccinated no later than May 1.
00:13:02.000 Let me say that again.
00:13:04.000 All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1.
00:13:12.000 That's much earlier than expected.
00:13:14.000 No, it isn't.
00:13:16.000 It's not.
00:13:17.000 It's what was expected.
00:13:18.000 If you just watch the trajectory, again, he's just saying, like, the sun will rise.
00:13:22.000 The sun is going to rise in the morning, in the east.
00:13:28.000 I declare an edict.
00:13:30.000 That it will be so.
00:13:32.000 And he falls over.
00:13:34.000 Everybody's like, whoa, that's amazing!
00:13:36.000 You know, the sun wasn't going to rise in the east until Joe Biden said it.
00:13:39.000 Now that Joe Biden said it, the sun's going to rise in the east.
00:13:41.000 Amazing.
00:13:42.000 If it weren't for Joe Biden, the sun would not have risen.
00:13:43.000 We'd all be dead.
00:13:44.000 We would all be dead.
00:13:46.000 But Joe Biden declared the sun will rise in the east and set in the west.
00:13:49.000 And unbelievably enough, that's actually what's going to happen.
00:13:52.000 What an amazing guy Joe Biden is.
00:13:54.000 It's like Connecticut Yankee and King Arthur's Court, right? 0.74
00:13:57.000 He knows that there's going to be a solar eclipse.
00:13:59.000 And so he predicts the solar eclipse because he's from the future.
00:14:02.000 He knows when the solar eclipse is going to happen.
00:14:04.000 He's a magic man.
00:14:05.000 We all know, except it's not a miracle.
00:14:07.000 We all know that the trajectory is to this point. 0.78
00:14:11.000 In fact, Joe Biden is so ridiculous that he is now reversing trajectory on things like school reopenings.
00:14:18.000 So on some things, he's like, yeah, it looks like there are going to be enough shots tranched out for people to get it by May 1st, and I'll take credit for that. 0.79
00:14:23.000 On other things, he is actively moving against best medical and scientific advice.
00:14:28.000 So here he was last night saying, we're accelerating plans to open schools.
00:14:31.000 What the F do you mean, accelerating plans to open schools?
00:14:34.000 My kids have both been in school since September. 0.87
00:14:37.000 The hell are you talking about?
00:14:39.000 Most kids in the United States are attending some form of school in person. 0.60
00:14:43.000 Your CDC recommended that 99% of kids be in hybrid learning or at-home only situations.
00:14:51.000 You're accelerating plans to open the schools?
00:14:52.000 You've been one of the lead factors in stymying plans to open schools.
00:14:56.000 You've been one of the lead obstacles.
00:14:58.000 They put the house plant in front of the train.
00:15:01.000 Here is Joe Biden saying he's accelerating plans to open schools.
00:15:03.000 Again, it's just nonsense.
00:15:04.000 And what is maddening about this is the gaslighting.
00:15:07.000 The media declaring that this is transformative stuff.
00:15:09.000 He just used COVID as an excuse to cram down a $2 trillion boondoggle designed to pay off all of his political allies at the state and local levels, and to pay off the unions, and to set up these massive entitlement programs that he intends to keep around far beyond the lifespan of COVID.
00:15:24.000 That's all this was.
00:15:26.000 And now he's declaring victory. Amazing. A week ago it wasn't victory, today it's victory.
00:15:30.000 Here he says we're accelerating plans to open schools. Accelerating plans.
00:15:33.000 His entire administration has been run by the teachers unions top to bottom. Ridiculous crap. 1.00
00:15:39.000 With the passage of the American Rescue Plan, and I thank again the House and Senate for passing it, and my announcement last month of a plan to vaccinate teachers and school staff, including bus drivers. 0.97
00:15:55.000 accelerate massive nationwide effort to reopen our schools safely and meet my goal that I stated at the same time about 100 million shots of opening majority of K through eight schools in my first 100 days in office.
00:16:13.000 The majority of K through eight schools are already open.
00:16:16.000 They're already open.
00:16:18.000 He's just a again, I declare that my goal is that tomorrow morning, the sky will exist.
00:16:25.000 Not even that it'll be blue, that it will exist.
00:16:27.000 And the media's like, oh my God, he made the sky exist!
00:16:30.000 That's unbelievable!
00:16:32.000 Oh, it's so maddening.
00:16:33.000 It's so maddening.
00:16:34.000 Because if you follow politics on a day-to-day basis, you know that what he's saying is untrue.
00:16:38.000 You know that him claiming credit for stuff that is not his responsibility is untrue, and that he has reversed progress in things like school reopenings.
00:16:45.000 It's absurd!
00:16:47.000 But again, the media have a stake in endless Democratic rule, and so they will continue to pump this guy up.
00:16:51.000 They'll continue to prop up Bernie and wheel him around as though that guy's leading the parade.
00:16:56.000 Okay, in just a second, we'll get to some more of his ridiculous pronouncements in this speech, which again, was treated as a hopeful speech by the media.
00:17:02.000 I didn't hear a lot of hope here. 0.86
00:17:03.000 What I heard is a guy who wants to maintain control, because control allows him to do all the things he wants to do.
00:17:08.000 We'll get to more of this in one second.
00:17:09.000 First, Let us talk about the fact that there are easy ways to upgrade the look and feel of your home.
00:17:13.000 One of those ways is your window coverings.
00:17:15.000 Blinds.com.
00:17:16.000 They make it simple to shop top quality blinds, shades, and interior shutters from home with easy online ordering and free shipping.
00:17:22.000 The experts at Blinds.com understand that window treatments are one of the household items you don't just think about, but...
00:17:27.000 They can, in fact, make an enormous impact on the look and feel of your home.
00:17:30.000 If you've ever walked into a home where they just have the old-fashioned blinds from the wire, they look terrible.
00:17:35.000 And then you walk into a home and they've got brand new shades or brand new shutters and they look great.
00:17:39.000 Well, you can upgrade and you can do it quickly and easily.
00:17:41.000 Go to blinds.com and just take a look at all the options.
00:17:43.000 You've got faux wood blinds, cellular and roller shades, even outdoor shades.

00:18:00.000 Head on over to blinds.com, see how much you can save.
00:18:03.000 When you check out online, don't forget to tell them you heard about blinds.com from The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:18:07.000 Helps us, helps them.
00:18:08.000 Rules and restrictions may apply.
00:18:10.000 Again, check them out at blinds.com right now, and when you check out, remember to let them know that you heard about them here on The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:18:16.000 Okay, so, Ben Joe Biden says you should listen to Anthony Fauci about the vaccines.
00:18:21.000 Here's the thing.
00:18:22.000 Anthony Fauci keeps saying things that are scientifically untrue about the vaccines.
00:18:25.000 He's been saying for weeks that because he doesn't know, he has no idea whether if you get the vaccine, you can pass this along.
00:18:32.000 You should really only get together in small groups.
00:18:34.000 You shouldn't get on an airplane.
00:18:35.000 It's not true. 1.00
00:18:35.000 All this is crap. 1.00
00:18:37.000 There are studies out from Pfizer. 0.99
00:18:38.000 They demonstrate that transmission rates are 90% down for people who've had the vaccine.
00:18:43.000 That the effectiveness rate in terms of preventing serious illness is something like 97%.
00:18:48.000 And the effectiveness rate in preventing death is like 99%.
00:18:52.000 As Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins University has said, once you have the vaccines and once it has taken, meaning the first month, one month after you take that first vaccine, you should be able to go out, take off the mask, and live your life.
00:19:01.000 You are now protected.
00:19:03.000 That's not what Fauci is saying.
00:19:04.000 Fauci has continued with this line pushed out by the Biden administration that we have to be cautious.
00:19:08.000 Now, why do the Democrats want to be cautious?
00:19:10.000 Because the more cautious you are, the more the economy suffers.
00:19:13.000 And the more the economy suffers, the more they can blow out the spending with everybody clamoring for more money.
00:19:18.000 The reason that this bill is popular is because people still perceive that COVID is a crisis and they believe that this is just a one-time giveaway.
00:19:25.000 It ain't a one-time giveaway.
00:19:26.000 It increases structural problems inside state and local governments that have not been forced to look again at their budgets.
00:19:33.000 It generates child tax credits to people who don't even pay taxes.
00:19:38.000 Without regard for family structure, it does not incentivize work.
00:19:41.000 It does not incentivize family formation.
00:19:44.000 These are programs that are meant to be permanent.
00:19:46.000 Democrats are openly saying this now.
00:19:48.000 But here's Joe Biden saying, listen to Fauci, listen to the science.
00:19:50.000 Captain, we need to keep the schools closed here.
00:19:53.000 Listen to Anthony Fauci, who, by the way, should have been fired long ago.
00:19:57.000 We've got work to do to ensure that everyone has confidence in the safety and effectiveness of all three vaccines.
00:20:05.000 So my message to you is this.
00:20:07.000 Listen to Dr. Fauci, one of the most distinguished and trusted voices in the world.
00:20:14.000 He's assured us the vaccines are safe.
00:20:17.000 They underwent rigorous scientific review.
00:20:20.000 I know they're safe.
00:20:23.000 Vice President Harris and I know they're safe.
00:20:25.000 He's not even speaking English.
00:20:27.000 Honest to God.
00:20:28.000 He is not speaking English anymore.
00:20:30.000 OK, and then he continued.
00:20:31.000 It's amazing.
00:20:33.000 And we had we had full on debates last year between two people who couldn't speak English.
00:20:37.000 And they say that this isn't the diverse country.
00:20:39.000 In any case, Joe Biden says that by July 4th, we can get back to our traditional celebrations.
00:20:43.000 Now, this is what I needed.
00:20:44.000 I needed permission from this old coot telling me what I can and cannot do. 1.00
00:20:48.000 I've needed permission from my politicians all the way along because, you see, I'm not a sentient human being with the ability to assess risk.
00:20:54.000 I'm not a person who looks at risks and then makes my own assessment, even though that's exactly what I, like all other human beings, do.
00:21:00.000 I'm the kind of person where when I saw that the virus was spreading widely last year, it was around Purim time in the Jewish community, before any of the lockdowns went into effect, I told my parents we're not going to Purim parties because I can see this is a problem.
00:21:11.000 I was an advocate of masking when there was widespread in the community.
00:21:14.000 I was never an advocate of mandatory mask programs because I didn't think they were effective and they wouldn't be enforceable, but I was an advocate of masking.
00:21:21.000 I was always one of the more cautious people I knew about COVID.
00:21:25.000 And yet the idea is that I'm not allowed to make my own assessment.
00:21:27.000 I need Joe Biden to make an assessment for me.
00:21:29.000 Okay, so now he lays out something that is completely ascientific.
00:21:33.000 The standard that Joe Biden is about to lay out right here is completely anti-scientific.
00:21:37.000 It is not the science.
00:21:38.000 It is not what his own CDC standards recommend.
00:21:41.000 Once again, he is downplaying expectations, knowing that we're going to meet those expectations long before the date that he's setting.
00:21:48.000 And so one of the problems for President Trump in politics is that he kept over-promising then under-delivering, which was weird because he had a lot to deliver, right?
00:21:54.000 He would say, we're going to have 97% economic growth, and then we have like 5% economic growth, which is really good.
00:21:59.000 It'd be like, he missed his mark!
00:22:01.000 Joe Biden will be like, we're going to have a 7% negative economic growth.
00:22:06.000 It'll be like a 2% growth rate.
00:22:07.000 People are like, oh, that was amazing.
00:22:09.000 So that's what he's doing with COVID right now.
00:22:11.000 What he's doing is he's saying, you know, at a certain point in the long way future, maybe you can get together with small groups.
00:22:16.000 And then guess what?
00:22:17.000 You can get together with small groups right now if you're vaccinated.
00:22:20.000 In fact, scientifically speaking, you can get together with large groups right now if you are vaccinated.
00:22:24.000 But here's Joe Biden telling you what you can and cannot do because you need advice from this old codger.
00:22:28.000 If we do all this, if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th, there's a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day.
00:22:48.000 That doesn't mean large events with lots of people together, but it does mean small groups will be able to get together after this long, hard year.
00:22:59.000 Small groups will be able to get together, according to Joe Biden. 0.99
00:23:02.000 Okay, in a second, I'm going to explain to you why this is so unbelievably stupid, okay, and anti-scientific, according to his own administration. 0.99
00:23:09.000 We'll get to that in one second. 0.96
00:23:11.000 First, let us talk about the fact that a lot of people have a balance on their credit cards, and you got a higher interest rate than you would prefer.
00:23:16.000 I mean, the fact is, one of the ways that people get in serious trouble is they rack up the charges on the credit card, and then they don't pay it off.
00:23:21.000 And then all of a sudden, you're getting charged just insane percentages on your interest rate, and you get really behind the eight ball.
00:23:27.000 It's a really bad way of falling into a serious financial situation.
00:23:30.000 Instead, why not pay off your credit cards and save with a credit card consolidation loan from Lightstream.
00:23:35.000 Rates start at just 5.95% APR with auto pay and excellent credit.
00:23:38.000 It's much lower than the national average interest rate on credit cards.
00:23:40.000 Plus, the rate is fixed, so it's never going to go up over the life of the loan.
00:23:44.000 Get a loan from $5,000 to $100,000 with absolutely no fees.
00:23:47.000 You can even get your money as soon as the day you apply.
00:23:50.000 Lightstream believes people with good credits deserve a better loan experience, and that is exactly Again, I've seen a lot of people who have fallen into credit card debt.
00:23:57.000 Instead, go consolidate those credit card loans right now and save with a credit card consolidation loan from Lightstream.
00:23:57.000 Not something you want to do.
00:24:04.000 Just for my listeners, you can apply right now to get a special interest rate discount and save even more.
00:24:08.000 The only way to get the discount, go to Lightstream.com slash Shapiro.
00:24:11.000 That's L-I-G-H-T-S-T-R-E-A-M dot com slash Shapiro.
00:24:15.000 Lightstream.com slash Shapiro.
00:24:17.000 Subject credit approval rates range from 5.95% APR to 19.99% APR and include 0.50% Okay, so you heard Joe Biden right there say, maybe by July 4th.
00:24:34.000 Maybe by July 4th.
00:24:35.000 So first of all, it's fun that we get to celebrate July 4th again.
00:24:37.000 Because for a while there, it seemed like July 4th was a celebration of the most terrible country ever to be created.
00:24:43.000 And Colin Kaepernick put out a whole post about how July 4th was terrible.
00:24:46.000 Great patriot that Colin Kaepernick is, being celebrated by the Democratic Party.
00:24:49.000 Apparently, July 4th is now back on the menu, so that's good.
00:24:52.000 Also, he says, by July 4th, you can get together with... I love how he just trots that out.
00:24:56.000 There's like, you can get together with your neighbors, and with your family, and friends, at a cookout.
00:25:02.000 Not in big groups.
00:25:03.000 In small groups.
00:25:04.000 Okay, I'm going to read to you from the CDC website.
00:25:06.000 You ready?
00:25:08.000 Fully vaccinated people can quote, visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing.
00:25:15.000 Visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing.
00:25:22.000 Refrain from quarantine and testing following a known exposure if asymptomatic.
00:25:26.000 In other words, today, not July 4th, today, March 12th, if you are fully vaccinated, you can get together with small groups of people, according to the CDC.
00:25:35.000 And the CDC guidelines are way the hell too restrictive.
00:25:39.000 That CDC standard makes no sense.
00:25:39.000 Because guess what?
00:25:40.000 I'm going to read that last line again.
00:25:42.000 They say that if you're fully vaccinated, you can refrain from quarantine and testing following a known exposure if you're asymptomatic.
00:25:49.000 Which means they are not worried that you are going to get it if you are vaccinated.
00:25:53.000 They are not worried that you are going to spread it if you are vaccinated.
00:25:56.000 Which means if you're vaccinated, you should be able to go out and do whatever the hell you want.
00:25:59.000 Okay, so the CDC is too restrictive, and then Biden's like, the CDC standard that applies today, if we're good little boys and girls, then I will grant you the crumb of freedom that on July 4th, you'll be able to do.
00:26:11.000 July 4th?
00:26:12.000 The F you talking about, dude?
00:26:14.000 You're not like three months down the road?
00:26:17.000 March to April, April to May, May to June, June to July.
00:26:19.000 You're talking about four months down the road right now?
00:26:22.000 Four months?
00:26:24.000 We actually already are meeting in these groups.
00:26:28.000 Like, a while ago.
00:26:29.000 Nobody's paying attention to him.
00:26:32.000 And my favorite part of this entire speech is he did this whole thing about how what we really learned is that we have to trust government.
00:26:38.000 No, that's pretty much the last thing we learned here.
00:26:40.000 The last thing we learned is that we need to trust government.
00:26:42.000 What we actually learned is that we need to trust Big Pharma.
00:26:45.000 That's what we actually learned here, because Big Pharma did the heavy lifting. 0.99
00:26:47.000 Government didn't develop crap. 0.97
00:26:49.000 The government provided financial incentives that were perfectly obvious to everyone. 0.99
00:26:54.000 But the reality is that it was individual decision-making.
00:26:56.000 It was state and localities that allowed people to live their lives.
00:26:59.000 It was Big Pharma developing a vaccine in record time.
00:27:02.000 Those are the people who ought to deserve credit.
00:27:04.000 If we're going to look at big government Democrats and how they did during this pandemic, the answer is they did unbelievably horribly.
00:27:11.000 Again, the worst states in America were the ones that locked down places like New York and New Jersey.
00:27:16.000 California wrecked its economy, locked everyone in their house for a year, and have the same death per million rate as Florida, which didn't lock anybody up, opened all of its schools, and told people to go live their lives.
00:27:26.000 And by the way, Joe Biden just wants to let you know that while he is saying that you might be able to get together in small groups by July, also he might shut it down again.
00:27:34.000 There might have to be more shutdowns.
00:27:36.000 Mm-mm.
00:27:37.000 Nope.
00:27:38.000 Nope.
00:27:39.000 The data demonstrates the shutdowns have not been useful.
00:27:42.000 The lockdowns have not been useful.
00:27:43.000 But here's Joe Biden threatening you again.
00:27:45.000 If you're not good little girls and boys and non-gender binary humans, then I guess that, you know, maybe if you're bad, if you don't listen to Joe Biden, then he might lock you down again. 0.66
00:27:57.000 Old man might lock you in the closet again.
00:28:00.000 Unity is what we do together as fellow Americans.
00:28:06.000 Because if we don't stay vigilant and the conditions change, then we may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track.
00:28:14.000 And please, we don't want to do that again.
00:28:17.000 We've made so much progress.
00:28:20.000 This is not the time to let up.
00:28:22.000 What do you mean, not the time to let up?
00:28:24.000 Like, we're getting vaccines.
00:28:25.000 What are you talking about right now?
00:28:28.000 Okay, so, this all plays into the broader Democratic narrative, which is that Joe Biden is curing COVID by spending oodles of money we don't need to spend.
00:28:35.000 Because the reality, again, is that COVID is on the way, and we are at the lowest infection rates since the beginning of the pandemic.
00:28:39.000 People are getting out and about.
00:28:41.000 They're going back to their regular lives after they are vaccinated.
00:28:43.000 They're meeting with their families.
00:28:44.000 They're going out to parties.
00:28:45.000 They're doing all the normal things that they ought to do.
00:28:48.000 They ought to take off the masks.
00:28:50.000 It is good for American society that we can see each other's faces.
00:28:53.000 It is good to relieve the depression and anxiety that come along with isolation if we can go back to leading our regular lives.
00:28:58.000 But Democrats don't want that because then they wouldn't have the impetus to spend more money again and again and again.
00:29:04.000 So Chuck Schumer makes the absurd contention that we're going to be back to normal because of the COVID relief bill.
00:29:08.000 That's absurd.
00:29:08.000 We're going to be back to normal because we can all go back to work, and we can go to parties, and we can go to concerts, and we can go to baseball games.
00:29:14.000 We're not going to be back to normal because you sent a bunch of checks to people who weren't unemployed in the first place. 1.00
00:29:19.000 Here's Chuck Schumer saying just stupid crap. 1.00
00:29:23.000 The $1,400 matters. 1.00
00:29:24.000 Help is on the way.
00:29:25.000 The vaccines, they're going to come much quicker and much more widespread than people ever thought.
00:29:32.000 It is now thought that maybe even as early as June we'll have enough people vaccinated that we can go back to life as normal.
00:29:32.000 What?
00:29:38.000 Who wouldn't want that? 0.71
00:29:39.000 So this bill, it has so many good things.
00:29:42.000 So many good things.
00:29:43.000 And it's geared to what America needs.
00:29:46.000 No, it is absolutely not geared to what America needs.
00:29:48.000 It's geared to what Democrats need. 0.79
00:29:49.000 It spends hundreds of billions of dollars on states and localities that have run their businesses like crap, and they are fining, essentially, states that have stayed open in favor of states that have stayed closed. 0.96
00:29:59.000 The bill's a monstrosity. 0.98
00:30:00.000 It's a terrible bill.
00:30:01.000 It's a really, really bad bill.
00:30:03.000 Okay, meanwhile, I got Zeke Emanuel.
00:30:06.000 It is kind of weird that one of the chief advisors to the President of the United States on COVID-19 is a person who wrote a column not all that long ago saying that he wanted to die at the age of 75.
00:30:16.000 COVID kills people over the age of 75.
00:30:19.000 So, all right.
00:30:21.000 But apparently, he says that by summer or early fall, we'll be back to normal.
00:30:25.000 Summer or early fall?
00:30:27.000 How about next week?
00:30:28.000 Next week sound good for you?
00:30:29.000 How about last week?
00:30:31.000 How about, like, months ago, people were back to living their lives.
00:30:34.000 They were just socially distancing and wearing masks.
00:30:37.000 And how about the fact that once they have the vaccines, as in, like, now, particularly the people who are most vulnerable, because if you're 20, you ain't dying of COVID by the statistics.
00:30:44.000 Your chances of dying are extraordinarily low by the stats.
00:30:48.000 Hey, how about once all the people who are most vulnerable have been vaccinated, we go back to our regular lives?
00:30:53.000 No, we have to have the experts tell us.
00:30:54.000 You need the guidance of a man who said he would like to die at 75 about the deadliness of a disease that kills people mainly over the age of 75.
00:31:00.000 Here's Zekiel Emanuel.
00:31:03.000 We don't know exactly where herd immunity and sort of killing the spread happens, but somewhere in that time.
00:31:10.000 So it does look like summer, early fall, we will be getting back to normal.
00:31:17.000 And it's really important, I think, Katie, you know, what normal isn't COVID goes away entirely.
00:31:23.000 Normal is, you know, the background risk of COVID goes to something like the background risk of flu.
00:31:30.000 And it just becomes part of the everyday life.
00:31:33.000 Oh, well, I guess that if he says so, then I guess we'll all just lock up until, you know, late summer or early fall.
00:31:39.000 Or we won't do any of that because these people are not in charge, nor should they be in charge.
00:31:43.000 But again, they have to give you the impression that they did it, that the experts did it.
00:31:47.000 The government experts, the public health experts, not the actual experts who created the vaccine, not the The governors who let you live your life?
00:31:53.000 No.
00:31:54.000 The people who made all of this magic happen are the people who are in top-down control.
00:31:57.000 Why do they need that impression?
00:31:59.000 Because if they ever give up that impression, we might say, well, then why do you need to spend all of this taxpayer money?
00:32:04.000 Why do we need to trust you to reset all of America's social and economic standards?
00:32:09.000 But there's great enthusiasm for that at this moment, and it crosses the aisle.
00:32:13.000 And people like David Brooks, it's amazing.
00:32:15.000 Does the New York Times have a single conservative columnist at this point?
00:32:18.000 Ross Douthat is the only one who could maybe be considered a conservative.
00:32:23.000 Ross is the most conservative of them.
00:32:24.000 But David Brooks is not a conservative anymore.
00:32:26.000 I mean, David Brooks just came out in favor of Joe Biden's entire economic plan.
00:32:31.000 He said, there was a premise throughout American history that if you worked hard, you would earn economic security.
00:32:35.000 That's not as true for millennials in Generation Z or many other people across America.
00:32:39.000 What is he talking about?
00:32:40.000 We had the highest employment rate in modern American history one year ago.
00:32:45.000 One year ago.
00:32:47.000 He says, well, you know, we have a different emotional climate, that the pandemic has magnified a climate of insecurity and precarity.
00:32:53.000 These realities have produced an intellectual revolution.
00:32:55.000 It was assumed, even only a decade ago, the Fed could not just print money with abandon.
00:32:59.000 It was assumed the government could not rack up huge debt without spurring inflation and crippling debt payment costs.
00:33:04.000 Both of these concerns have been thrown out the window by large numbers of thinkers.
00:33:07.000 Well, I mean, if the thinkers say so, we've seen years of high debt and loose monetary policy, but inflation has not come.
00:33:13.000 I mean, it has not come because the demand did not show up in mass number.
00:33:18.000 So you didn't get the price inflation.
00:33:20.000 And because all the other countries around the world were doing the same thing that we were, which meant that we were still a good bet when it came to the dollar.
00:33:26.000 But if we decide to blow this thing out in unilateral fashion, no people are not going to buy our debt.
00:33:32.000 But, says David Brooks, the restraints have been cast aside.
00:33:34.000 We are now experiencing monetary and fiscal policies that would have been unimaginable a decade ago.
00:33:39.000 The role of government is being redefined.
00:33:41.000 This isn't socialism.
00:33:42.000 This is not the federal government taking control of the commanding heights of the economy.
00:33:45.000 This is not a bunch of programs to restrain corporate power.
00:33:48.000 Americans trusting government is still low.
00:33:50.000 This is the transfer state.
00:33:51.000 Government redistributing massive amounts of money by cutting checks to people and having faith that they spend it in the right ways.
00:33:57.000 Both parties are adjusting to the new paradigm.
00:34:00.000 And he says, I'm worried about a world in which we spend borrowed money with abandon.
00:34:04.000 But income inequality, widespread child poverty, and economic precarity are the problems of our time.
00:34:08.000 It's worth taking a risk to tackle all of this.
00:34:10.000 I love this kind of economic thinking.
00:34:12.000 Sure, all the wisdom in the past doesn't apply anymore because bad things are happening.
00:34:15.000 So it's worth risking the entire American economy, which one year ago was booming under completely the reverse of Joe Biden's policies.
00:34:23.000 It's worth risking the fundamental basis of that economy in order to what?
00:34:29.000 Fight problems that were already on the wane by the time the pandemic hit?
00:34:33.000 We had the fastest wage growth in decades under Trump.
00:34:36.000 And David Brooks is like, wow, that was a crisis.
00:34:38.000 By the way, how ridiculous are the Democrats' assessments of the economy at this point? 0.94
00:34:42.000 They're so ridiculous that the Washington Post editorial board is going, guys, slow up on the spending. 0.97
00:34:47.000 The Washington Post! 0.95
00:34:48.000 The Washington Post has an editorial today saying, there are two assertions we can confidently make about the level of federal debt the U.S.
00:34:54.000 can sustain.
00:34:55.000 First, it is higher than many commentators, ourselves included, commonly supposed until recently.
00:34:59.000 Second, it is not infinite.
00:35:02.000 Congress needs to take both of these points into account as it considers what to do now that President Biden's $1.9 trillion COVID relief package has passed with a proposal for another $2 trillion or more in infrastructure spending on the way.
00:35:13.000 The right answer isn't to pivot to deficit reduction, of course.
00:35:17.000 We had reservations about the size of the newly approved bill.
00:35:20.000 The $350 billion allocated to state, local, and tribal governments seems excessive, given their strong recent tax revenue recovery.
00:35:27.000 Nevertheless, there's a case for borrowing a lot of money, but let's be real, we need higher revenues, reduced spending on lower priority items, a mix of the two.
00:35:36.000 They say that debt that is large and uncontrolled would be unprecedented in American history, and according to the CBO, risky.
00:35:42.000 So even the Washington Post is starting to get nervous about the kind of spending that Biden is proposing.
00:35:47.000 But don't worry, they'll come around because they're the Washington Post and the media will prop up Biden.
00:35:53.000 Again, I keep saying it over and over, but President Houseplant is necessary for the Democrats because he's an unthreatening face on a very threatening policy.
00:36:02.000 His threatening policy of top-down COVID control, his threatening policy of we're gonna spend more money than has ever yet been created, his threatening policy of we're going to take over every institution of the American government and outside the American government in favor of equity-based wokeness, is deeply dangerous to American society.
00:36:19.000 They just have to slap this oldster's face on it because he has an unthreatening face. 1.00
00:36:23.000 Right? 0.97
00:36:24.000 That's all this is about.
00:36:25.000 It's all it always was about.
00:36:26.000 By the way, how threatening is this administration getting?
00:36:29.000 According to Axios.com, President Biden is now being encouraged to effectively pack the nation's top campaign finance regulator with officials who will more doggedly enforce laws regulating political money.
00:36:40.000 The FEC has been gridlocked for years.
00:36:43.000 Now, some are pushing Biden to abandon protocol by sidestepping congressional Republicans and nominating regulators who will more aggressively enforce campaign finance rules.
00:36:52.000 They want to just get rid of the Republicans on the commission.
00:36:57.000 By law, the six-member FEC can have no more than three commissioners from either major political party, but there is one independent right now, and one of the two new Republican commissioners, Sean Cooksey, was confirmed in December.
00:37:08.000 Biden could nominate a true Democrat to replace Cooksey, giving the commission a four-member pro-enforcement majority.
00:37:14.000 This, of course, would completely undermine the ability of Republicans to fight back.
00:37:18.000 Understand that campaign finance reform is a direct response by Democrats to the threat of new media.
00:37:23.000 Hey, the old media is a giant in-kind contribution to the Democratic Party.
00:37:28.000 New media and super PACs and people spending corporate money in order to elect Republicans, that is a direct response to the fact that the corporate media is designed on behalf of Democrats and operates on behalf of Democrats at this point.
00:37:40.000 So if you can stack the FEC so that everybody gets regulated except for the labor unions and big media, you know what the outcome is going to be.
00:37:47.000 And that is what Biden is being encouraged to do at this point.
00:37:50.000 Already coming up, we're going to get to the Pentagon attacking Tucker Carlson, which, you know, it's weird.
00:37:56.000 I seem to remember people suggesting it was fascist for members of the government to attack the press.
00:38:00.000 Now you have the Pentagon literally commenting on Fox News shows and not to deny reports, but just to rip on a commentator.
00:38:08.000 And this is considered OK.
00:38:11.000 I'm weird.
00:38:11.000 Weird.
00:38:12.000 Now, here's the thing.
00:38:13.000 I truly believe the world would be a better place if people spent a lot more time reading books.
00:38:19.000 And that is why they need to pick up a copy of Andrew Klavan's next book.
00:38:23.000 It's the next installment of Another Kingdom.
00:38:26.000 Another Kingdom is a terrific kind of fantasy noir series.
00:38:29.000 He just released the third and final installment in his Another Kingdom series.
00:38:33.000 The Emperor's Sword finds Austin Lively on the run between two realities as his enemies close in on all sides.
00:38:38.000 Despite wild success in life, he begins to realize a recurring vision is actually a nightmare in disguise.
00:38:42.000 He's caught in the coils of a terrible magic.
00:38:44.000 The only way he can save his soul, give up his success, reenter the Elven lands, and find the Emperor Anastasia so he can restore Queen Elinda to her throne.
00:38:51.000 If you haven't read the first two books, you have no idea what I'm talking about, but this is why you should read the first two books.
00:38:54.000 And then, Pick up The Emperor's Sword.
00:38:57.000 It is now available for purchase online.
00:38:58.000 Go to Amazon.com, search The Emperor's Sword.
00:39:01.000 Also, big news.

00:40:06.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation. 0.84
00:40:16.000 So remember that time when President Trump was a fascist dictator?
00:40:18.000 Remember that time? 0.86
00:40:19.000 Because he would criticize the press and it was like, every time he said something bad about Jim Acosta, the entire media was in a frenzy.
00:40:25.000 It's an attack on our free press!
00:40:27.000 It's just terrible!
00:40:29.000 He's a bad man! 0.99
00:40:30.000 He's a bad orange man! 0.99
00:40:32.000 What if I told you that the Pentagon is full-on attacking a journalist?
00:40:35.000 Like, full-on attacking a journalist.
00:40:37.000 So, Tucker Carlson did a segment the other night on Joe Biden making a speech about how we are creating new military uniforms for pregnant mothers, or some such.
00:40:46.000 And Tucker made a suggestion, which was, you know, typically pregnant mothers are not going to be on duty, so that's a very weird thing to trot out as sort of your top of line as sort of your top line change to the military.
00:40:59.000 In a time where our military really requires building up in the face of a Chinese threat, it seems weird to lead with. 1.00
00:41:04.000 Also, we created a uniform for pregnant ladies or pregnant people because, sorry, forgive me, some men can get pregnant. 0.61
00:41:11.000 So Tucker said this, and the world was set aflame.
00:41:14.000 How dare he say anything remotely like this?
00:41:17.000 Now, let me make this absolutely clear.
00:41:18.000 Everybody who's serving in the military and has volunteered for duty is doing something I didn't, and they are braver than I, okay?
00:41:23.000 That is right up front.
00:41:24.000 Also, it is kind of a weird thing to lead with.
00:41:27.000 Our military policy is we created uniforms for pregnant women, because pregnant women aren't typically going to be the ones who are doing the fighting. 1.00
00:41:33.000 They're not gonna be the ones who are Flying the jets.
00:41:36.000 They're not going to be the ones who are on the frontline combat teams.
00:41:39.000 They're pregnant, right? 0.99
00:41:41.000 Seems fairly obvious.
00:41:42.000 But for Tucker saying this, he was taken to task by the Pentagon itself because we are now in the business of having government agencies respond directly to journalists they don't like and owning them because the Pentagon, I kid you not, put out an actual headline yesterday about owning the cons.
00:41:57.000 They put out a headline like the Pentagon destroys Tucker Carlson, which is a different headline than the Pentagon destroys a terrorist with a drone.
00:42:03.000 But I mean, kind of weird.
00:42:05.000 Okay, so, according to Axios, the Pentagon condemned Tucker Carlson for mocking women in the military.
00:42:13.000 During the segment, Carlson said that President Biden's acknowledgment that policies are changing to encourage more women to join and stay in the armed forces was a mockery of the United States military.
00:42:21.000 Well, that's not exactly what he said, but Kirby, who is the Pentagon press secretary, He called out Tucker Carlson.
00:42:30.000 He said, I want to be clear right up front, the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths.
00:42:35.000 Well, no.
00:42:37.000 I mean, that's not true.
00:42:39.000 The strength of our military is one of our greatest strengths.
00:42:41.000 Having a lot of people who can meet basic fitness standards, that is a great strength.
00:42:45.000 Having a lot of people great at their jobs, that's a great strength.
00:42:47.000 Diversity in its purest term is obviously not one of the great strengths of the military, not meaning that it's a bad thing to have a bunch of people who are racially diverse in the military.
00:42:57.000 That's fine, that's wonderful.
00:42:58.000 But if you're talking about the chief strengths of the American military and you're talking about diversity, you don't have a lot of fat people in the military.
00:43:03.000 You shouldn't have a lot of fat people in the military because you need them to actually do things.
00:43:07.000 You shouldn't have a bunch of people who have congenital heart disease in the military.
00:43:10.000 There are actual standards to get into the military.
00:43:13.000 And those standards to get in the military are good, because what we are actually interested in creating is an effective fighting force.
00:43:19.000 So if you are looking for criteria on how to judge the quality of a military, diversity ranks fairly low on the list.
00:43:27.000 It's like effectiveness, physical fitness, ability under fire, and then the racial makeup of the military, that one is kind of irrelevant.
00:43:41.000 That's, like, it's nice, but it's not relevant to the actual fighting fitness of a fighting force, obviously.
00:43:48.000 Okay, but the idea that diversity is like the number one priority of the military, which is sort of what Biden and the Pentagon are now saying, is very bizarre.
00:43:55.000 The military is generally not supposed to be the place for social engineering.
00:44:00.000 It's supposed to be the place where you kick the hell out of people who try to attack us.
00:44:03.000 That's what the military is generally for.
00:44:04.000 We have lots of places for social engineering in American society. 0.99
00:44:08.000 The military is not the A number one place for that.
00:44:09.000 Now, the military has been used in the past for some pretty excellent social engineering, namely the desegregation of the military by Harry Truman, right?
00:44:15.000 That was a very, very good thing.
00:44:17.000 And I'm glad that Harry Truman did it.
00:44:19.000 But the notion that that is the purpose of the military, as opposed to an attempt to broaden the scope of the military to encompass more people who are qualified at a basic level to do the job, that is a different thing.
00:44:28.000 Okay, so Kirby says, quote, I want to be very clear up front, the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths.
00:44:34.000 I've seen it for myself in long months at sea and in combat waged by our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
00:44:38.000 I've seen it up on Capitol Hill just this past month.
00:44:40.000 I see it every day right here at the Pentagon.
00:44:41.000 What we absolutely won't do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military.
00:44:45.000 Maybe those folks feel like they have something to prove.
00:44:47.000 That's on them.
00:44:49.000 Then the U.S.
00:44:50.000 Army responded on Twitter with a series of photos of female troops along the phrase, I am an American soldier.
00:44:55.000 So we now have the Pentagon in a direct like flame war with Tucker Carlson.
00:44:59.000 Way to go after America's enemies, guys.
00:45:02.000 Really well done.
00:45:03.000 Imagine if the Pentagon had done this under President Trump.
00:45:07.000 Imagine if Jonathan Chait had said something about why the military's transgender policy is super bad and the Pentagon had just put out a bunch of memes attacking Jonathan Chait.
00:45:16.000 You'd be like, why is the administration doing that?
00:45:18.000 Why is the executive branch attacking journalists this way?
00:45:21.000 But apparently it's totally fine to do it so long as it's Tucker Carlson and it's in favor of the woke ideology.
00:45:27.000 That diversity is like the chief priority of the military.
00:45:30.000 Okay, so this sort of stuff, unfortunately, is becoming more and more common.
00:45:34.000 Obviously, not just from the government, but also socially speaking.
00:45:37.000 There's an attempt to bully out of public existence anybody who happens to be on the right.
00:45:41.000 This is why you have MSNBC's Nicole Wallace now saying that any single company that donates to the GOP is a racist company.
00:45:48.000 She, of course, says this on Joy Reads Bizarre Show.
00:45:51.000 The Republicans are now openly trying to disenfranchise voters.
00:45:56.000 They're acknowledging that the more people vote, the worse the margins for Republicans will be.
00:46:02.000 And any company that thinks they can give money to Republicans because maybe they like their positions on regulations or taxes needs to understand that they're voting for voter suppression.
00:46:11.000 And if it's a company that has a product, they need to, I think, understand that that product will be associated with racist disenfranchisement of black voters.
00:46:19.000 So here's Nicole Wallace openly calling on people to boycott any company that associates with her political opponents. 1.00
00:46:25.000 Pretty amazing stuff.
00:46:27.000 But that is the world in which we now live.
00:46:30.000 A top-down government control pushed by Joe Biden, and the government attacking its political opponents outside of government via the Pentagon, which again, if Trump had done it, would be considered authoritarianism.
00:46:43.000 And of course, members of our vaunted media now trying to use their power to cudgel everybody else into shutting up.
00:46:49.000 Pretty incredible stuff.
00:46:50.000 Okay, meanwhile, speaking of cuddling people into shutting up, Amazon has now announced it will not be selling books.
00:46:57.000 Will not be selling books framing LGBTQ plus identities as mental illnesses.
00:47:01.000 I assume that also includes mental disorders.
00:47:03.000 If it includes mental disorders, then they're going to have to ban the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual No.
00:47:07.000 5, which labels gender dysphoria in its actual listing of mental disorders.
00:47:11.000 Because it is, in fact, a mental disorder.
00:47:14.000 Now, they banned Ryan Anderson's book.
00:47:15.000 So, Ryan Anderson, formerly of Heritage Foundation, now the Ethics and Public Policy Center, he had a book called When Harry Became Sally.
00:47:24.000 And the entire book is very well considered.
00:47:25.000 It does not attempt to say bad things about people who suffer from gender dysphoria.
00:47:30.000 It talks about the various medical solutions that have been proposed and how effective they are or are not.
00:47:35.000 It's a very well-considered, well-thought-out, sympathetic book.
00:47:38.000 Does not matter, Amazon pulled it down. 1.00
00:47:40.000 So people tried to get answers from Amazon as to why the book was pulled down, because that is digital book burning.
00:47:45.000 Now, Amazon is saying, according to the Wall Street Journal, that it recently removed a three-year-old book about transgender issues from its platforms because it decided not to sell books that frame transgender and other sexual identities as mental illnesses.
00:47:57.000 The company explained its decision in a letter Thursday to Republican Senators Marco Rubio of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah, Mike Braun of Indiana, and Josh Hawley of Missouri.
00:48:04.000 The Senators had written last month to Chief Executive Jeff Bezos, requesting an explanation of why the Ryan Anderson book was pulled down.
00:48:13.000 When Harry Became Sally, of course, focuses on a variety of issues, including gender dysphoria.
00:48:15.000 not to sell books that frame LGBTQ plus identity as a mental illness, Amazon said in the letter, which was signed by Brian Huseman, Amazon's vice president of public policy, referring to sexual identities that include lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, among others. When Harry became Sally, of course, focuses on a variety of issues, including gender dysphoria. Anderson says, quote, everyone agrees gender dysphoria is a serious condition that causes great suffering.
00:48:39.000 Okay, so what exactly are they banning?
00:48:42.000 And the answer is that they're not banning every book that says that gender dysphoria is a mental disorder, because it clearly is a mental disorder. 0.80
00:48:47.000 It is diagnosed as such.
00:48:49.000 That is why treatment is recommended or not recommended, depending on your point of view.
00:48:53.000 Instead, what Ryan Anderson points out is there is a debate which Amazon is seeking to shut down about how best to treat patients who experience gender dysphoria.
00:49:01.000 They called the book an important contribution to that conversation.
00:49:04.000 They said, Amazon is using its massive power to distort the marketplace of ideas and is deceiving its own customers in the process.
00:49:11.000 Okay, the fact that Amazon is now banning books on the basis of suggesting, for example, that watchful waiting is a better idea than puberty blockers for children, or the idea that transgender surgery might not actually be super effective in fighting the symptoms of gender dysphoria, that it's banning those books, I mean, that's full-fledged authoritarianism from the corporate media.
00:49:34.000 And you know that this is Amazon's perspective, right?
00:49:35.000 I mean, this is not scientifically settled material by any stretch of the imagination at all.
00:49:40.000 And yet Amazon has decided that the debate is over.
00:49:43.000 So it is only a matter of time before they start banning books that do not take the preferred line on climate change.
00:49:47.000 For example, if you are like Michael Schellenberger or Bjorn Lomberg, and you suggest that climate change is occurring, but the solutions provided by the left are not actually the solutions, those books will be taken down.
00:49:57.000 If you believe that America is not systemically racist, those books presumably will be taken down.
00:50:01.000 And all you have to do to find out what Amazon is going to take down next, and this is gonna happen over the next couple of years during the Biden administration, what you're gonna see as Amazon continues to do this, all you have to do to tell what they take down next is go take a look over at their movie page because you can see what they are recommending on the ideological side.
00:50:16.000 So, producer Savvy sent over an email from one of our listeners showing that Amazon is currently, for Women's History Month, Or for Independent Women's Day or something?
00:50:27.000 International Women's Day?
00:50:29.000 They were honoring women in film.
00:50:30.000 One of the movies that they are honoring as female-directed for women in film is The Matrix by the Wachowski brothers, who are now the Wachowski sisters, right?
00:50:38.000 They're both transgender women.
00:50:40.000 So Amazon is openly making the statement that The Matrix, which was directed by men, Okay, it was directed by men.
00:50:46.000 Not only do these people happen to still be biological men, when they directed the film, they even identified as men.
00:50:52.000 It was only later that they started identifying both as transgender women.
00:50:56.000 Now, that is considered a female-directed film because, again, transgender politics means that we change not only the laws of biology, pretending that men are women, but also the laws of physics, pretending they were always women even when they were men. 0.95
00:51:08.000 They say time travel is impossible.
00:51:10.000 Not anymore.
00:51:11.000 Now it's completely possible.
00:51:12.000 You can go back and actually change history by declaring that today you identify as a woman.
00:51:15.000 This means you were always a woman, which means that Bruce Jenner is the single greatest female athlete in human history.
00:51:20.000 Sorry, Caitlyn Jenner.
00:51:21.000 Single greatest female athlete in human history.
00:51:23.000 Not even close.
00:51:24.000 Defeating men with ease.
00:51:26.000 All the way back during the Olympics in the 70s.
00:51:28.000 Like truly incredible stuff.
00:51:30.000 So Amazon, when they decide that they are going to push the notion that America is systemically racist, you know the next books that they're gonna punish are gonna be books like Heather McDonald's, which claim that America's police are not systemically racist.
00:51:42.000 Because after all, they disagree.
00:51:44.000 And this cannot be allowed to prevail.
00:51:45.000 These views cannot be allowed in the public sphere.
00:51:49.000 First of all, if Amazon continues to do this, then we'll just start our own book service.
00:51:52.000 I mean, DW, we will.
00:51:54.000 We'll start our own book distribution service.
00:51:56.000 Which we can do.
00:51:57.000 When we have a Tumblr distribution service, we can make a book distribution service. 0.98
00:52:00.000 We'll have to do that if they continue with this sort of crap.
00:52:04.000 But this is exactly the sort of woke cram-down that is occurring everywhere from governments, to corporations, to now universities. 0.98
00:52:10.000 And so this is a crazy story.
00:52:12.000 Here's a crazy story from Georgetown Law.
00:52:14.000 According to the Washington Post, A Georgetown Law professor was terminated, and a second was placed on leave after a video clip showed a conversation between the pair that included what an official called reprehensible statements about black students.
00:52:27.000 Officials said Thursday the conversation between adjunct professors Sandra Sellers and David Batson had triggered an investigation by Georgetown University's Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Affirmative Action, which is an Orwellian title for an office that basically exists just to punish people for saying the wrong things.
00:52:42.000 There's an entire billion-dollar industry in the United States, offices of diversity at virtually every company, designed to avoid liability.
00:52:48.000 That's really what those are about.
00:52:50.000 You can limit your liability and exposure to federal lawsuit if you have an office of diversity that polices inside your institution, quote-unquote racism, even if it's not actually racism.
00:53:00.000 The school's Black Law Students Association had called for Sellers' firing.
00:53:04.000 The video clip, shared on Twitter this week, showed Sellers discussing student performance.
00:53:09.000 Sellers said in the video, quote, Meaning a lot of my lower-performing students.
00:53:18.000 Happens almost every semester.
00:53:19.000 And it's like, oh, come on!
00:53:20.000 You get some really good ones, but there are also usually some that are just plain at the bottom.
00:53:24.000 It drives me crazy. 1.00
00:53:26.000 Hey, now, the way this was interpreted is that black students are inherently dumber. 1.00
00:53:29.000 That is not at all what the professor is obviously saying. 0.98
00:53:33.000 The professor is saying that one of the problems with lowering standards of admission to have affirmative action people to have people get in via affirmative action means That you're going to have people who are misaligned with the school.
00:53:44.000 This has been a long-supported thesis.
00:53:46.000 Abigail Thornstrom wrote about this years ago in The Atlantic, when The Atlantic was not a left-wing garbage salon knockoff.
00:53:52.000 It used to be that everybody understood that if you lower standards for admission, a lot of the people who would have done really well at a school not as highly ranked as Georgetown actually underperform at schools like Georgetown, because they got in having lower scores than the rest of the population at these particular schools. 0.95
00:54:06.000 So this professor says, some of my best-performing students are black, but A disproportionate number of my lower-performing students are black, and this makes me sad.
00:54:13.000 This makes me upset.
00:54:14.000 Not sad at the black students, sad at a system that does not help black students to the extent that they are performing better.
00:54:21.000 Sad at a system that is deliberately misaligning a certain number of black students with the school they should actually be going to.
00:54:27.000 They'd be succeeding at a school that is not ranked in the top 20 law schools.
00:54:31.000 They'd be succeeding at school number 40.
00:54:33.000 But at Georgetown Law, they're having a tough time, and this makes the professor sad.
00:54:36.000 This is fireable. 0.97
00:54:37.000 If you even note that black students are disproportionately underperforming at some of these schools, which statistically they are, this means that you are a racist. 0.95
00:54:45.000 And if you're sad about it, you're upset about it, you want black students to do better, this means that you're even more of a racist, according to Georgetown Law.
00:54:53.000 All you have to do is pour a few billion more dollars into the Office of Diversity to re-indoctrinate everybody into the idea that you can't have any standards at all, and then all of this will go away.
00:54:59.000 By the way, if Georgetown Law really wants to fix this problem, they should just get rid of grades.
00:55:03.000 All grades should just go away.
00:55:03.000 for more anti-bias training, there it is.
00:55:05.000 All you have to do is pour a few billion more dollars into the Office of Diversity to re-indoctrinate everybody into the idea that you can't have any standards at all, and then all of this will go away.
00:55:14.000 By the way, if Georgetown Law really wants to fix this problem, they should just get rid of grades.
00:55:17.000 All grades should just go away. No more grades.
00:55:20.000 Not even pass-fail.
00:55:21.000 It's impossible to fail.
00:55:22.000 Everybody, it should be like a Baltimore public school.
00:55:24.000 You get passed whether or not you actually know how to read. 0.63
00:55:28.000 She wasn't saying that she was deliberately grading down black students.
00:55:35.000 Precisely the opposite. 0.73
00:55:37.000 She was saying that if she could have had the ability to do so, she would have graded black students better.
00:55:41.000 But it's a problem because they're not performing as well.
00:55:45.000 Sellers shared a resignation with the Washington Post in which she apologized for the hurtful and misdirected remarks that were part of a longer discussion about patterns in class participation.
00:55:53.000 I would never do anything to intentionally hurt my students or Georgetown Law and wish I could take back my words, Sellers said in the letter, regardless of my intent, I have done irreparable harm.
00:56:00.000 I am truly sorry for this.
00:56:01.000 You didn't do irreparable harm at all.
00:56:01.000 No, you didn't.
00:56:04.000 Not one iota of irreparable harm.
00:56:05.000 The only irreparable harm here is that Sellers is never going to work in academia again.
00:56:09.000 Because any school in the future that hires this particular professor is immediately going to be hit with a wave of woke cancellation.
00:56:15.000 They're going to be hit with a bunch of students claiming that they are going to protest at the dean's office if this professor is hired.
00:56:21.000 She just ended her own academic career by apologizing.
00:56:24.000 She never should have done it.
00:56:24.000 She should have just said, that's not what I meant.
00:56:26.000 Y'all know what I meant.
00:56:27.000 I want black students to do well.
00:56:28.000 That was the entire basis of the conversation.
00:56:30.000 No.
00:56:31.000 Then she'd be able to work again.
00:56:32.000 But just like everybody who is intimidated, she put her neck out there and they're going to chop it right off. 1.00
00:56:39.000 Hassan Ahmadi, Georgetown Law student who posted clips of the remarks on Twitter, said the conversation happened at the conclusion of a negotiations class.
00:56:45.000 The recording was online for about two weeks before students noticed the conversation.
00:56:49.000 The video was reported Monday morning and then taken down soon after.
00:56:53.000 Treynor, who's the dean, said he had learned this week about a conversation between two faculty members that included reprehensible statements concerning the evaluation of black students. 0.94
00:57:03.000 I'm sorry, it's just, this is ridiculous. 0.96
00:57:04.000 It's a deliberate misinterpretation of what is very obviously a sympathetic position toward black students. 0.97
00:57:11.000 Apparently.
00:57:13.000 This is pretty great.
00:57:13.000 Tiffany Wright, a former Supreme Court law clerk who graduated from Georgetown Law in 2013, they dug this person up to comment for the Washington Post.
00:57:20.000 Now a practicing attorney and co-director of the Human and Civil Rights Clinic at Howard University, said she's been dealing with a kind of microaggressions espoused by Sellers since she was a student.
00:57:29.000 She's used to people doubting her abilities and seeing black people held to different standards than their white peers.
00:57:33.000 Quote, it also has an effect over time on our mental health.
00:57:36.000 You start to absorb and believe those lies.
00:57:39.000 Which ones? 0.98
00:57:39.000 She said some of her best performing students are black. 0.98
00:57:41.000 So which lies are you believing?
00:57:44.000 The lie that says that some perform well and some perform badly, because that's true of every racial group.
00:57:48.000 Or the truth, which is that sometimes racial groups disproportionately perform well or badly in particular academic settings.
00:57:57.000 It's just, it's an absurdity, but it doesn't matter.
00:58:00.000 It does not matter.
00:58:01.000 By the way, the Black Law Students Association also accused a professor named Kerry Menkel-Meadow, a professor emerita at Georgetown Law and professor at UC Irvine, of using the N-word in a class.
00:58:13.000 She denied using the word.
00:58:15.000 She said it was in an article she had assigned to students about regulating hate speech.
00:58:18.000 And the Black Law Students Association tried to have her fired for assigning a piece about hate speech that included the N-word, which is necessary to explain hate speech. 0.99
00:58:29.000 And by the way, this whole woke cancel culture nonsense, it's going international now.
00:58:33.000 Apparently a white translator was removed from an Amanda Gorman poem in Europe.
00:58:38.000 So Amanda Gorman is this bizarrely popular, National Youth Poet Laureate.
00:58:44.000 Can't say I'm supremely enamored with her work.
00:58:47.000 Will also admit I'm not a huge poetry fan, so maybe she's amazing, and I just don't know it.
00:58:50.000 But I've never heard a poem of hers that I didn't think was just prose divided up into kind of random doggerel.
00:58:57.000 In any case, there is a Catalan translator, apparently in Spain, who's been removed from a job translating a poem by Amanda Gorman because he did not, quote, fit the profile.
00:59:11.000 The move by the Barcelona publisher, Universe, marks the second instance of controversy in Europe around the choice of a white person being chosen to translate The Hill We Climb by Gorman, who is black.
00:59:20.000 Translator Victor Obials told AFP on Wednesday Universe had commissioned him last month to translate Gorman's work into Catalan.
00:59:25.000 After he completed the job, the publishing house informed him he was not the right person.
00:59:29.000 He said, They told me I am not suitable to translate it.
00:59:31.000 They did not question my abilities, but they were looking for a different profile, which had to be a woman, young, activist, and preferably black.
00:59:38.000 So you can't even translate words now, unless you are a person who absolutely mirrors the person who wrote the word in every respect.
00:59:46.000 In fact, only Amanda Gorman can translate Amanda Gorman into Catalan.
00:59:49.000 All she has to do is learn Catalan, and then it'll be no problem.
00:59:53.000 This is the absurdity of our divisive and polarized culture, and it is only going to get worse from here on in.
00:59:59.000 Okay, meanwhile, speaking of divisive and polarized culture, I'd be remiss if I did not comment on the Myers-Leonard situation.
01:00:07.000 So Myers-Leonard is a forward for the Miami Heat.
01:00:10.000 Okay, and Myers-Leonard is very controversial in the NBA because he chose not to kneel for the National Anthem.
01:00:16.000 That's why he first became controversial in the NBA.
01:00:18.000 You see, in the NBA, it is considered good taste to kneel for the National Anthem and bad taste to stand for the National Anthem.
01:00:23.000 So he was already controversial.
01:00:24.000 Okay, so he does all of these kind of video gaming streams, does Myers-Leonard.
01:00:29.000 And while he was doing one of these video gaming streams, he dropped the K-word for Jews.
01:00:34.000 Okay, the K-word for Jews is, it dates back to, I believe, Germany.
01:00:40.000 I believe is the origin of it.
01:00:42.000 It comes from the German term for circle, because Jews back in the early 19th century were forced to wear a circle in public.
01:00:50.000 And so that turned into the term that rhymes with Mike, but starts with K, okay?
01:00:56.000 I don't like to say racial slurs on the program, So that term was used by Myers Leonard.
01:01:02.000 Now, as a person who's received more anti-Semitic comments than I would probably say any American, like literally all the Americans, in 2016, I was named this by the ADL.
01:01:13.000 I have the trophy on my wall.
01:01:15.000 It's fantastic.
01:01:16.000 The one that says I was the most targeted person by anti-Semitism on Twitter for all of 2016.
01:01:21.000 So I know what anti-Semitism looks like, and I know what it's like to be targeted by anti-Semitism.
01:01:26.000 You don't get the K-word a lot, except from kind of alt-writers.
01:01:29.000 That's pretty much the only place that you get the K-word.
01:01:31.000 Myers-Leonard is not a member of the alt-right.
01:01:33.000 My guess is that Myers-Leonard was playing video games a lot, and there were a bunch of gabbers in there, you know, 8chan folks, and some of those people were using the word.
01:01:41.000 He didn't know what the word meant, and so he used the word one time.
01:01:43.000 I don't think that he thought, oh Jew, that means k-word.
01:01:47.000 And this is what he said.
01:01:48.000 He said, you know, I didn't know what the word meant.
01:01:50.000 I thought it was just sort of a gamer thing that people were saying, and so I said it.
01:01:53.000 Okay, that's bad.
01:01:54.000 It's an accident.
01:01:56.000 It is certainly less bad than, say, LeBron James putting out an Instagram post saying that he was going to get him some Jewish money.
01:02:05.000 He literally put out an Instagram post just a couple of years back that said, We've been getting that Jewish money. 0.77
01:02:09.000 Everything is kosher.
01:02:11.000 There's a picture of himself tweeting those lyrics to 45 million people.
01:02:17.000 Okay, now, here's the thing.
01:02:19.000 Both of these things are not great.
01:02:21.000 One of them is explicitly anti-Semitic in terms of the Jewish money thing. 0.85
01:02:25.000 The other one is pretty obviously coming from a place of tremendous ignorance.
01:02:31.000 Myers Leonard apologized.
01:02:32.000 LeBron James apologized.
01:02:34.000 Myers Leonard was hit with a $50,000 fine, the maximum allowed by league policy, and suspended from using all Miami Heat facilities and activities for one week in response to his use of the term.
01:02:44.000 Adam Silver said that he believes Leonard is genuinely remorseful.
01:02:47.000 He said Myers-Leonard's comment was inexcusable, hurtful, such an offensive term has no place in the NBA or in our society.
01:02:52.000 He's going to be required to participate in a cultural diversity program.
01:02:57.000 Silver said, we have further communicated to Myers that derogatory comments like this will not be tolerated and he will be expected to uphold the core values of our league, equality, tolerance, inclusion, and respect at all times moving forward.
01:03:07.000 So that was the maximum fine that could be issued by Adam Silver for anything.
01:03:12.000 It's unclear how this will affect Leonard's standing with the Miami Heat.
01:03:16.000 The Miami Heat said Leonard would be away from the team indefinitely.
01:03:19.000 And they said that they are going to continue to communicate with Myers as he educates himself and all of this.
01:03:24.000 Okay, so, that's what happened to Myers-Leonard.
01:03:25.000 What happened to LeBron James?
01:03:26.000 After LeBron James, Instagram's out, we've been getting that Jewish money, everything is kosher. 0.99
01:03:30.000 What happened to him?
01:03:31.000 Nothing.
01:03:32.000 Of course, nothing happened to LeBron James.
01:03:35.000 Or what happened to Dwayne Wade?
01:03:37.000 Another person who has been a star for the Miami Heat.
01:03:40.000 When, for example, Dwayne Wade defended Nick Cannon.
01:03:42.000 You remember that Nick Cannon was fired because he went on this wild anti-Semitic diatribe in the middle of a podcast?
01:03:49.000 Dwayne Wade came out and tweeted, we are with you with an emoji of a black fist.
01:03:53.000 Keep leading, he tweeted to Nick Cannon.
01:03:57.000 Was Dwyane Wade hit with any fine by the NBA?
01:04:01.000 And even if he was retired by that point, he's still associated with the league, he's still associated with, I believe, one of the teams, I think the Heat.
01:04:08.000 So was there anything that happened to Dwyane Wade?
01:04:11.000 How about, you know, actually other active players?
01:04:13.000 Like, for example, it turns out that other players, including Kevin Durant, expressed sympathy for Deshaun Jackson.
01:04:21.000 Deshaun Jackson had issued a wild anti-Semitic statement.
01:04:25.000 He had suggested that Jewish people own all the banks.
01:04:28.000 And he had put up anti-Semitic content on Instagram, including a quote misattributed to Adolf Hitler.
01:04:35.000 He was defended by former NBA player Steven Jackson.
01:04:38.000 And then, J.R.
01:04:39.000 Smith and Kevin Durant both liked Steven Jackson's post on Instagram.
01:04:42.000 Did either J.R.
01:04:43.000 Smith or Kevin Durant get fined by the NBA?
01:04:46.000 So here's what we have here.
01:04:47.000 We have anti-Semitism coming from LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, J.R.
01:04:50.000 Smith, and Kevin Durant.
01:04:52.000 And then, an anti-Semitic slur used presumably accidentally by Myers Leonard.
01:04:58.000 Myers Leonard, who is white, gets fined $50,000 and suspended for a week and indefinitely by the Heat.
01:05:04.000 Nothing for LeBron, nothing for KD, nothing for J.R.
01:05:07.000 Smith, nothing for Dwyane Wade.
01:05:09.000 Weird!
01:05:10.000 Very, very strange.
01:05:11.000 So, do I think that the NBA cares about bigotry, or do I think that the NBA is wildly biased in how it applies its standards of justice?
01:05:19.000 Yes, I'm talking about the same NBA that thought that it was completely fine for LeBron James to undercut the Hong Kong Freedom Movement because they're making money in China, but continue to suggest that black men are under existential threat in a country where LeBron James is one of the most powerful cultural figures in America earning literally $100 million a year.
01:05:35.000 I mean, like...
01:05:35.000 Probably.
01:05:37.000 Yes, it turns out that the NBA has a bit of an agenda here, and that agenda has something to do with race, and that agenda has something to do with politics, and it has very, very little to do with principle.
01:05:48.000 None of that's an excuse for Myers-Leonard.
01:05:49.000 But Myers-Leonard, if he's going to be fined, then certainly all these other players should have been fined.
01:05:54.000 And by the way, I happen to believe that Myers Leonard did that by accident.
01:05:57.000 I do not think that it was by accident when you defend Nick Cannon saying openly anti-Semitic things, or when you put up posts that say, getting that Jewish money, to the applause apparently, and non-punishment of the NBA.
