The Ben Shapiro Show - The Military Goes Woke | Ep. 1215

00:00:00.000 The American military launches a full-scale public attack on Tucker Carlson.

00:00:04.000 Team Biden pushes a new era of big government on the back of lies about an endless pandemic. 0.74

00:00:09.000 And the Grammys was full of pornography. 1.00

00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro. 0.89

00:00:12.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:21.000 Don't like big tech and the government spying on you?

00:00:23.000 Visit ExpressVPN.com slash Ben.

00:00:26.000 All right, we'll get to all the news in just one moment.

00:00:28.000 First, let's be real about this.

00:00:30.000 You're paying way too much for your cell phone coverage.

00:00:32.000 The reality is that when you go to get coverage, they will tell you that what you need is unlimited talk, unlimited talk and unlimited text and unlimited data.

00:00:39.000 But here's the thing, you don't actually need unlimited data because you're not gonna use unlimited data because it is unlimited data.

00:00:44.000 Instead, here is what you need.

00:00:45.000 Unlimited talk, text, and six gigs of data at 30 bucks a month.

00:00:49.000 This is where Pure Talk USA comes in.

00:00:51.000 By the way, if you go over on that six gigs of data, well, let me tell you, they're not gonna charge you for it.

00:00:57.000 People are abandoning their overpriced wireless carriers.

00:00:59.000 They are flocking to PeerTalk for the same coverage at a fraction of the price.

00:01:02.000 That's right.

00:01:02.000 If you're with Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, switching to PeerTalk could save your family over $800 a year.

00:01:08.000 That is a lot of money.

00:01:09.000 And switching is super simple.

00:01:11.000 Again, keep your phone, keep your number, get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids.

00:01:15.000 And right now you get unlimited talk text, 6 gigs of data for just $30 a month.

00:01:19.000 Go check them out right now from your cell phone.

00:01:21.000 Dial pound 250.

00:01:22.000 Say, Ben Shapiro, you will save 50% off your very first month.

00:01:25.000 That is pound 250.

00:01:27.000 Say, Ben Shapiro, Pure Talk is simply smarter wireless.

00:01:30.000 Again, you get unlimited talk tech, six gigs of data for just 30 bucks a month.

00:01:33.000 If you go over on data, they're not gonna charge you for it.

00:01:35.000 There's a reason.

00:01:36.000 Pure Talk is the highest rated wireless company by Consumer Affairs.

00:01:39.000 Stop giving your money to those overpriced wireless carriers.

00:01:41.000 Start saving money.

00:01:42.000 Dial pound 250 on your cell phone and say, Ben Shapiro, you will save 50% off your first month and hundreds of bucks over the course of the year for my friends over at Pure Talk USA.

00:01:50.000 Okay, so.

00:01:51.000 The American military is now going to be rebuilt along woke lines, apparently. 0.77

00:01:56.000 This is the way that we are going to do everything in America, right? 0.78

00:01:58.000 Equity is the byword.

00:02:00.000 Equity is the thing that is going to drive all Biden administration policy.

00:02:04.000 And there are certain institutions in America that I think conservatives correctly felt were sort of biased toward conservatives.

00:02:10.000 Among those institutions, business, which has been completely hijacked by the woke and now militarized against people who think differently.

00:02:17.000 The military was one of them.

00:02:19.000 The military was an institution that generally tends to vote conservative.

00:02:23.000 It is filled by people who tend to be patriotic, because you have to be pretty patriotic to sign up for a life of service in the American military.

00:02:29.000 You tend to be pretty hawkish on foreign policy.

00:02:31.000 This is one of the great hilarities of the left always using the so-called chicken hawk argument, is that if somebody didn't serve in the military, they can't be hawkish on foreign policy.

00:02:39.000 My response was, all right, if you want to poll the members of the American military, and we will only use their votes, I have very little doubt about which way that is going to go.

00:02:46.000 But now, all these institutions have, in fact, been taken over by the woke, or at least cudgeled into submission by the woke.

00:02:53.000 I don't think that the rank and file in the military agree with what the top brass are doing at the military right now, but that's of little consequence when the people at the top of the military have decided to mirror the priorities of the far left.

00:03:03.000 The same thing is happening in police departments around America.

00:03:06.000 Those police departments have been cuddled into silence by left-wing federal agencies, as well as by police chiefs who are hired by left-wing mayors.

00:03:15.000 And what that ends up doing is it ends up driving good people out of the police force.

00:03:18.000 It ends up making the police force less efficient.

00:03:19.000 Same thing in the military.

00:03:21.000 So now the military, according to the left, the military is bad when it is used as an instrument of American foreign policy.

00:03:26.000 It is good when it is used as an instrument of social engineering.

00:03:28.000 So the American military is bad when it is used in Afghanistan or Iraq.

00:03:32.000 At that point, American soldiers become just people who are dropping bombs on civilians, as Barack Obama once suggested about Afghanistan.

00:03:38.000 But when the American military is used as an instrument of instituting transgender policy, or when it is used as an instrument of forcing forward certain policies with regard to same-sex marriage, Then it is a very good institution because it's under total government control. 0.73

00:03:53.000 Well now, the American military has decided to apparently embrace the standards of political correctness.

00:03:59.000 And not just political correctness, they've decided that the top brass in the military are now going to focus their fire on public relations fights with journalists they don't like.

00:04:08.000 Which is quite astounding.

00:04:10.000 Imagine if under President Trump, top members of the American military, having heard slanderous things about them for years from the left-wing media like MSNBC, had decided, you know what, one day we're just all going to go hard out after Rachel Maddow.

00:04:21.000 Rachel Maddow says something about the military and the entire military brass decides they're just going to go directly after Rachel Maddow.

00:04:27.000 Now cries of authoritarianism would have been deafening.

00:04:30.000 The cries of fascism would have been deafening.

00:04:31.000 Why is our civilian-controlled military speaking out as an independent body and suggesting that it should be in competition with members of the private sphere?

00:04:40.000 And one of the great things about America is we do have civilian control of the military.

00:04:43.000 The military does not control the military.

00:04:44.000 The civilian branches of government control the military.

00:04:47.000 And guess what?

00:04:48.000 We all get to have opinions on how the military is used, whether or not we have served.

00:04:52.000 And none of that, again, is a referendum on the bravery of the people serving.

00:04:55.000 As I've said many times, I didn't have the bravery to serve.

00:04:57.000 There are lots of people today who disagree with me, who have the bravery to serve.

00:05:00.000 And I appreciate that, but it does not make their opinion significantly more valuable than mine, considering my vote counts the same as theirs.

00:05:06.000 And depending on the issue...

00:05:07.000 Perhaps I've studied the issue.

00:05:09.000 Perhaps I haven't studied the issue.

00:05:10.000 Doesn't really matter.

00:05:11.000 The bottom line is that civilian control of the military is one of the hallmarks of American democracy.

00:05:15.000 And one of the other hallmarks of American democracy is that the military does not speak out as an independent body against members of the civilian sphere.

00:05:22.000 In fact, it is a regulatory violation for members of the military to do this.

00:05:26.000 They're allowed to have private-based opinions.

00:05:29.000 They're not allowed to speak on behalf of the military in matters of public policy.

00:05:34.000 So all of this began last week when Tucker did a segment talking about how Joe Biden had been out there bragging about how they have these brand new uniforms for pregnant women.

00:05:41.000 And the general point that Tucker Carlson was making is the point of a military is to be efficient, is to break things and kill people, basically.

00:05:48.000 The job of the American military is to make America more secure.

00:05:51.000 And typically, when you're talking about the military, that is through the threat or use of violence.

00:05:56.000 And top priority for a body that is designed to do this is not, in fact, the design of new uniforms for pregnant women.

00:06:04.000 That's nice that they have designs for uniforms for pregnant women, but this isn't exactly the bleeding edge of what you need from your military.

00:06:10.000 If you're talking about what you need from your military, it is more firepower, it's excellent troop cohesion, it is High levels of efficiency in being able to threaten or to perform the act of breaking things and killing people, right?

00:06:23.000 That's what the military is there to do, or to preserve the peace with the threat of breaking things or killing people.

00:06:30.000 And so Tucker says, you know what, if we're talking about top priorities in the military, the top priorities in the military ought not be the maternity leave policy for pregnant women.

00:06:36.000 It's great they have that, but that is not top priority, and why you have top members of the administration touting that as like, this is the most amazing thing happening within the military, as opposed to, here is a retrofit of all of the obsolete equipment that the military requires to be replaced, right?

00:06:51.000 That should be top priority.

00:06:52.000 If you're talking about maternity leave, then maybe you ought to look to You know, some of the other federal agencies, if you even want to do that.

00:06:58.000 But using the military as an instrument of social engineering, or at least pretending that the top priority of the military's social engineering is bizarre and does not make us more competitive.

00:07:06.000 And the world came down on Tucker.

00:07:08.000 How dare he say this?

00:07:09.000 He's sexist.

00:07:10.000 It's terrible that he's suggesting all of this. 0.91

00:07:13.000 How could he?

00:07:14.000 And then, what's worse, is that the military decides that they are going to get involved in this.

00:07:20.000 This is the part where things get really wild.

00:07:23.000 So, according to the UK Independent, a top military official at U.S.

00:07:26.000 Space Command has hit out at Tucker Carlson's comments against women in the military, pointing out the host has never served a day in his life.

00:07:32.000 Well, that is true about everybody.

00:07:34.000 I mean, Joe Biden was not in the Army.

00:07:36.000 So the hell what?

00:07:38.000 And Joe Biden, who was announcing the policy, none of Joe Biden's press team was in the Army.

00:07:42.000 And what are we talking about here?

00:07:44.000 None of those people were Marines.

00:07:46.000 That's not relevant.

00:07:46.000 So the hell what?

00:07:47.000 There's not a single host on MSNBC so far as I'm aware who's performed military service.

00:07:51.000 That's fine.

00:07:52.000 They're entitled to their opinion, and Tucker's entitled to his opinion.

00:07:55.000 Doesn't make your opinion any more or less valuable whether you've served in the military.

00:07:58.000 Again, if only people who serve in the military were able to speak out on military matters, the military would not be doing the stuff that it's doing right now.

00:08:04.000 Because I promise you, if you ask rank-and-file Americans who are in the military what they think about the woke policy now coming down from the top echelon to the military, they don't agree with it.

00:08:13.000 They've never agreed with it, by the way.

00:08:16.000 So, there's this guy from SpaceCom who now put out a video.

00:08:24.000 His name is Master Gunnery Sergeant Scott Stalker.

00:08:27.000 He is the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at U.S.

00:08:29.000 Space Command.

00:08:30.000 And he put out this video ripping into Tucker Carlson.

00:08:34.000 I understand some comments were made yesterday and I watched the clip that Mr. Carlson produced.

00:08:39.000 as he referred to pregnant women in the military.

00:08:42.000 I'll remind everyone that his opinion, which he has a right to, is based off of actually zero days of service in the armed forces.

00:08:50.000 Let's get back to work.

00:08:51.000 Let's remember that those opinions were made by an individual who has never served a day in his life.

00:08:56.000 Let's remember that's all about drama TV.

00:08:59.000 God bless America.

00:09:00.000 Semper Fidelis.

00:09:01.000 Okay, I mean, that's an amazing statement.

00:09:03.000 When he says that his opinion is based off zero days in the military, again, you want to pull members of the military, Donald Trump would still be president.

00:09:09.000 You want to poll members of the military?

00:09:11.000 I'm not sure a Republican would have lost since about 1976, maybe.

00:09:15.000 But beyond that, the basic notion that the strength of the American military is pregnant women is not really true.

00:09:21.000 You want to say that America is better off for having women in the military? 1.00

00:09:24.000 There's an argument in favor of that for sure. 0.98

00:09:26.000 If you want to argue that pregnant women are the strength of the military, that of course is very silly. 0.75

00:09:31.000 Pregnant women are not the strength of the American military. 1.00

00:09:33.000 Giving women the ability to take maternity leave may be a positive and worthwhile thing for purposes of retaining females in the military who have volunteered to serve.

00:09:40.000 But that's not the same thing as saying that pregnant women are, like, the strength of the American military. 0.95

00:09:44.000 That, of course, is incredibly silly.

00:09:45.000 In fact, all of the Army regulations are precisely the opposite.

00:09:48.000 Army regulations say that at 20 weeks pregnant, a soldier is exempt from field duty.

00:09:53.000 They say that weight standards are made irrelevant by pregnancy.

00:09:56.000 Soldiers are not available for deployment during pregnancy if you're the mother of a newborn for four months after delivery until the soldier waives.

00:10:03.000 Soldiers cannot be assigned to duties when they have nausea, easy exhaustion, sudden lightheadedness.

00:10:07.000 If that'd be hazardous to a soldier or to others, that includes all aviation duty and classes.

00:10:12.000 Again, this is according to the Army regulations.

00:10:13.000 This is not the brutal sexist over at Fox News or something.

00:10:17.000 The Army has regulations that basically waive all standards when a woman is pregnant.

00:10:21.000 As they should, because when a woman is pregnant, she's not nearly in the same physical condition as she would be otherwise. 0.97

00:10:27.000 And by the way, on average, women are not in the same physical condition as men otherwise, because men have higher performance athletically than women do on average.

00:10:33.000 Not always at the tail of the bell curve for a woman is going to be above average for a man, but the tail of the bell curve for a man is way above the tail of the bell curve for a woman. 0.98

00:10:44.000 Again, the Army regulations have significant restrictions on what women can and cannot do if they are pregnant.

00:10:49.000 They are not permitted to paint, weld, solder, grind, sand on metal, wash parts, or perform other duties where they are routinely exposed to carbon monoxide.

00:10:57.000 Soldiers cannot participate in indoor weapons training.

00:10:59.000 You can't wear individual body armor after 14 weeks being pregnant.

00:11:04.000 Upon the diagnosis of pregnancy, a soldier is exempt from mandatory PT and from PT testing.

00:11:10.000 At 20 weeks of pregnancy, a soldier is exempt from standing at parade rest or attention for longer than 15 minutes.

00:11:15.000 At 28 weeks of pregnancy, a soldier must be provided a 15-minute rest period every 2 hours.

00:11:22.000 A soldier's work week is not allowed to exceed 40 hours.

00:11:24.000 A soldier can't work more than 8 hours in any one day if they are pregnant. 0.99

00:11:28.000 Okay, so for Tucker to say, yeah, you know, you're focusing a lot on what we do for soldiers who are pregnant.

00:11:33.000 That is not the part where we strengthen the American military as a general policy.

00:11:36.000 That is not wrong.

00:11:37.000 What we should be focused on is, can we win wars?

00:11:41.000 Honest to God, over the last week, we had a top general, Jack Keane, say there is no guarantee that we would even win a war against China were we to fight it.

00:11:49.000 In the last 10 years, different sponsors have run wars on this very subject.

00:11:56.000 The result is we lose.

00:11:58.000 When I was on the Congressional Commission looking at the National Defense Strategy in 2018, we said this.

00:12:05.000 If we entered in a war with China, the losses to personnel and high capital assets would be on a scale not seen since World War II.

00:12:13.000 We would be challenged to win and indeed we could lose.

00:12:17.000 Well, if that is the concern, at a certain point, you know, you might want to actually worry about the state of the military rather than what sort of magical performance for political correctness purposes you're doing.

00:12:17.000 Okay.

00:12:28.000 And it was Joe Biden who decided that he was going to do a presser about female uniforms for pregnant soldiers.

00:12:33.000 So the point that Tucker was making is not wrong.

00:12:36.000 If you're focused on the efficiency of the American military, again, fine to have soldiers who are pregnant in the military having uniforms. 0.99

00:12:45.000 I think there's a little more question to be had about whether you ought to be admitting soldiers who are then going to be eligible for transition surgery at the cost of taxpayers.

00:12:52.000 That seems bizarre to me, considering we have minimum standards of getting into the military that excludes people who have any sort of severe mental disorder and, by the way, anybody who even has depression.

00:13:02.000 So you can't have depression, you can't get into the military.

00:13:05.000 If you don't have depression, you can't get into the military.

00:13:08.000 Rather, if you have depression, you cannot get into the military.

00:13:10.000 But if you're a man who believes you're a woman, you can get into the military, and the military will then pay for your surgery. 0.99

00:13:15.000 This seems like a bizarre military policy.

00:13:17.000 But beyond that, even if that is the policy, that is where you're putting your chief focus?

00:13:22.000 By the way, we are all doing this at the same time that, according to the UK Telegraph, the US Army is now considering a reversal of its new gender-neutral physical test to instead include different evaluation categories for men and women.

00:13:32.000 Research showed that the Army Combat Fitness Test, which is the same for male and female soldiers, was leading to lower results for women, with a knock-on effect for promotions.

00:13:40.000 Because it turns out that women and men are not physically the same.

00:13:44.000 There are also studies that have been out for years suggesting that all-male combat units perform better than mixed units do.

00:13:50.000 This is according to NPR 2015, a year-long Marine Corps study trying to understand how gender integration would affect combat readiness has found that all-male units were faster, more lethal, and able to evacuate casualties in less time.

00:14:01.000 Okay, so pointing all of this out, if you're looking for combat efficiency that's not the same as the standards that are purported to be pushed forward by the social engineers, okay, none of that should be supremely controversial.

00:14:11.000 But Tucker said it, so it's controversial.

00:14:12.000 And not only is it controversial, you're gonna get now hit by the military itself, which is crazy.

00:14:17.000 Okay, that's the part that's really nuts.

00:14:19.000 It's not that people are giving Tucker flack.

00:14:21.000 These issues have long been in the public eye.

00:14:23.000 The idea of the top levels of the military are now tweeting out woke talking point slogans against Tucker Carlson is nuts.

00:14:30.000 It's the hijacking of an American institution that is required to be nonpartisan for partisan purposes.

00:14:35.000 If it had happened under Trump, they'd be talking authoritarian fascism.

00:14:39.000 It happens under Biden, and it's just considered fine and wonderful and good for the American military.

00:14:43.000 First time the left has liked the military in like decades.

00:14:45.000 Incredible.

00:14:46.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.

00:14:47.000 First, let's talk about the fact that you don't really want to go to that auto parts store.

00:14:51.000 I know you don't.

00:14:51.000 You don't want to stand in line, and then you finally get to the front of the line, and they ask you very specific questions, and then they order the part online, and then you have to wait for weeks, and then they upcharge you.

00:15:00.000 Or, you know, you could just skip all of that and just do it online yourself at rockauto.com.

00:15:04.000 Rockauto.com always offers the lowest prices possible rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear like airlines do.

00:15:10.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?

00:15:12.000 If I say you happen to need I don't know off the top of my head.

00:15:14.000 A Delphi FG1456 fuel pump assembly for a 2005 to 2010 Honda Odyssey.

00:15:19.000 That'll cost you like $354 at a big chain store.

00:15:21.000 That is the kind of thing you could get at Rock Auto for $217.

00:15:25.000 RockAuto.com is a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.

00:15:30.000 Go to RockAuto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.

00:15:33.000 Best of all, prices at RockAuto.com are always reliably low and the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

00:15:38.000 Why spend up to twice as much for the same parts?

00:15:41.000 The RockAuto.com catalog is unique.

00:15:42.000 It's remarkably easy to navigate.

00:15:44.000 Quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle.

00:15:46.000 Choose the brands, specifications, and prices you prefer.

00:15:49.000 Amazing selection.

00:15:50.000 Reliably low prices.

00:15:51.000 All the parts your car will ever need.

00:15:53.000 Rockauto.com.

00:15:54.000 Head on over to rockauto.com right now.

00:15:56.000 See all the parts available for your car or truck.

00:15:57.000 Write Shapiro in there.

00:15:58.000 How did you hear about us, Box?

00:15:59.000 So they know that we sent you.

00:16:01.000 Okay, so it wasn't just this guy over at Spacecom.

00:16:04.000 It was also the Marine Corps Twitter.

00:16:07.000 So Marine Corps Twitter actually targeted Tucker specifically.

00:16:12.000 And they put out a tweet of a woman carrying a man over her shoulder and it said, what it looks like in today's armed forces, Tucker Carlson, get right before you get left, boomer.

00:16:21.000 Hashtag women. 1.00

00:16:22.000 Hashtag we are Marines.

00:16:23.000 Hashtag Tucker Carlson.

00:16:25.000 Hashtag Marines.

00:16:25.000 Hashtag Fox News.

00:16:26.000 Hashtag currently serving.

00:16:28.000 Hashtag USMC women.

00:16:30.000 And they followed up, somebody was like, you might want to focus more on defeating the Chinese than you're focusing on defeating Tucker Carlson.

00:16:36.000 And they were like, when was the last time you signed up for service, boomer?

00:16:40.000 Okay, so it's now become Taylor Lorenz is running the Marine Twitter account, apparently. 0.68

00:16:50.000 This is the way you really think you're going to draw people to the military, but it isn't about drawing people to the military.

00:16:54.000 It's not about attractiveness to the military. 0.98

00:16:56.000 You know how many people aren't going to sign up because of this woke crap? 0.96

00:16:58.000 You know how many people I get letters from who are in the military asking whether they should re-up because of this woke crap, and I'm not sure, frankly, what to tell them because operating under these auspices is very difficult? 0.96

00:17:07.000 In the same way that if you're a cop, I got lots of emails from cops asking, you know, my department has decided that they are basically cracking down on my ability to do my job. 0.76

00:17:15.000 Should I re-up?

00:17:16.000 I don't know the answer to that.

00:17:18.000 This is not about making the military stronger.

00:17:20.000 This is, of course, about weaponizing the military against political targets like Tucker Carlson.

00:17:25.000 And really, weaponizing against an entire side of the political aisle.

00:17:30.000 If you're the Chinese military, you have to be laughing at this point.

00:17:33.000 But if you're America's enemies, and you are seeing that the military is expending its resources fighting with Tucker Carlson about whether it is worthwhile for your publicity to lead with pregnant women, not whether to have women in the military.

00:17:48.000 But whether the most important thing the military can do right now is provide additional maternity leave to women, and you're the Chinese military, and you're looking at taking over the South China Sea, you're like, wow, I feel like these people don't have their priorities in order at this point.

00:18:00.000 And now for the media, the media love this kind of stuff.

00:18:02.000 So the media who have despised the military for decades, they've always seen the military as bad and an instrument of American imperialism and colonialism, well now, they're over the moon.

00:18:13.000 Because what they think is that they think, first of all, a bunch of traditional-minded Americans who love the military, Again, I promise you, conservatives, by poll statistics, love the military significantly more than members of the political left.

00:18:25.000 No question.

00:18:26.000 And if you ask the average conservative how many members of the military they know, the answer is going to be a lot higher than members of the traditional left. 0.99

00:18:33.000 But the left seems to think that all the people in America who love the military are now going to turn on Tucker because they're members of the military tweeting out PC crap. 0.92

00:18:40.000 Okay, but that is not what's going to happen here. 0.95

00:18:42.000 But the media are super happy about it because they think that's what's going to happen here.

00:18:45.000 Anytime there is a major institution that is gutted by the woke and then taken over by the woke, the left are super happy about this.

00:18:52.000 This is their thing.

00:18:53.000 And particularly when it's militarized against their greatest enemies over at Fox News.

00:18:56.000 So Brian Stelter, he is out there saying that, you know, Tucker is the new Trump.

00:19:00.000 No, here's the thing.

00:19:01.000 You guys need an enemy.

00:19:03.000 Trump was your enemy because Trump said things you didn't like.

00:19:05.000 And because Trump boosted your ratings, the ratings at CNN have dropped precipitously since the election.

00:19:11.000 It's true for virtually all the networks, but it's dropped actually much more precipitously for CNN than, for example, MSNBC.

00:19:17.000 So Brian Stelter is saying, Tucker is the new Trump.

00:19:19.000 No, you want to make Tucker the new Trump so you have something to cover.

00:19:22.000 There are reporters who spend all day at CNN, like Media Matters gurus, just sitting there, monitoring Fox for bad things that they can then put on the chyrons at CNN.

00:19:31.000 If you want to know what's happening on Fox, all you have to do is tune over at CNN, and you will know what's happening on Fox.

00:19:35.000 Here's Brian Stelter saying, Tucker is the new Trump.

00:19:37.000 No, you need to make Tucker the new Trump because you have to have Trump.

00:19:40.000 You have to have a Trump, and Tucker could be that.

00:19:43.000 Bill Burr could be that.

00:19:44.000 I could be—it depends on the week.

00:19:46.000 Here's Brian Stelter going after Tucker.

00:19:46.000 Today it's Tucker.

00:19:49.000 Tucker Carlson is the new Donald Trump.

00:19:52.000 Tucker has taken Trump's place as a right-wing leader, as an outrage generator, as a fire starter.

00:19:59.000 And it's all happening on Fox, just like Trump's campaign did.

00:20:03.000 I mean, think about all the ways these two men are similar.

00:20:06.000 Every day, Carlson is throwing bombs, making online memes, offending millions of people, also delighting millions of others, tapping into white male rage and resentment, Uh, stoking distrust of big tech in the media, generally coarsening the discourse, never apologizing for anything, and setting the GOP's agenda.

00:20:27.000 Okay, um, actually, you know who's setting the GOP's agenda? 0.95

00:20:31.000 You guys, on the left, you're setting the GOP's agenda by being crazy. 0.94

00:20:34.000 And then Tucker comments on your crazy, and then you say that it's Tucker's fault. 0.94

00:20:37.000 This is the exact same thing they did with Trump. 0.62

00:20:38.000 Don't make Tucker president, by the way.

00:20:40.000 It's crazy. 1.00

00:20:41.000 These people are nuts. 1.00

00:20:42.000 Because what they are doing is they do a bad thing. 0.99

00:20:45.000 And then if you comment on the bad thing, you commenting on the bad thing is the story.

00:20:49.000 It's always Republicans pounce.

00:20:50.000 It's always Tucker pounces, or Shapiro pounces, or look at this outrageous thing that these right-wingers are saying in response to us doing a crazy thing.

00:20:58.000 We ban a book, and then the right goes, we don't like banning books.

00:21:01.000 Polarizing terrible people talking about banning books.

00:21:03.000 Why aren't they focused on policy?

00:21:05.000 And then you pass a $2 trillion package.

00:21:06.000 We're like, yeah, that's a bad policy.

00:21:08.000 That looks terrible.

00:21:08.000 They're like, how dare you criticize our policy?

00:21:11.000 You're the one who are starting the fire.

00:21:12.000 No, I'm sorry.

00:21:13.000 Just like Trump, I said over and over and over, Trump was not the murderer of American politics.

00:21:17.000 He was the coroner.

00:21:18.000 He arrived on the scene and the body was already cold.

00:21:21.000 The same thing is happening with Tucker.

00:21:22.000 He arrives on the scene.

00:21:23.000 There's a story generated by Joe Biden.

00:21:24.000 It's meant to generate a story.

00:21:25.000 Tucker Carlson covers it.

00:21:27.000 And then they lose their minds because this is what they need to do.

00:21:30.000 Because everything is a search and destroy mission.

00:21:32.000 Tucker is an effective communicator. 0.99

00:21:34.000 He must be destroyed.

00:21:35.000 This is why you have April Ryan appearing on national TV to talk about how Tucker's entertainment is deadly on CNN.

00:21:40.000 It's deadly.

00:21:41.000 OK, it's not just she disagrees.

00:21:42.000 It is. 0.98

00:21:43.000 It's going to get people killed.

00:21:45.000 This is inhumane what he's doing and we know a judge had to rule over Tucker Carlson when his attorney talked about him.

00:21:53.000 He's not a news reporter, he's an entertainer.

00:21:55.000 This entertainment value of Tucker Carlson is deadly and Fox News should be ashamed of it because people's lives are in jeopardy.

00:22:04.000 We saw the threats that came into reality on January 6th because a brew, a poisonous witch's brew was stirred by Tucker Carlson and others over there.

00:22:14.000 Okay, and this is the real goal, is to get rid of your opposition.

00:22:18.000 You build up your opposition so that you can tear it down.

00:22:20.000 That's the actual goal there.

00:22:21.000 Okay, in just one second, we'll get to more of this.

00:22:24.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you are spending an awful lot of time with media these days.

00:22:28.000 You are watching TV or you're listening to shows like this one.

00:22:31.000 You need a great pair of wireless earbuds because we are not living in 2007.

00:22:35.000 It is now 2021.

00:22:35.000 You need wireless earbuds.

00:22:37.000 Whether you're catching up on your favorite news podcast or binging an audiobook or powering through your workout with a pumped up playlist, a pair of Raycons in your ears can make all the difference.

00:23:02.000 The best part?

00:23:03.000 Raycon makes great sound accessible to everyone with wireless earbuds starting at half the price of other premium audio brands.

00:23:09.000 Right now, Raycon is offering 15% off all their products for my listeners.

00:23:14.000 Go to buyraycon.com slash Ben again.

00:23:16.000 That is buyraycon.com slash Ben.

00:23:22.000 To grab a pair and a spare, that is 15% off at buyraycon.com slash ben.

00:23:26.000 Again, that's B-U-Y R-A-Y C-O-N dot com slash ben. 0.95

00:23:30.000 Okay, so, the culture wars do matter, because the culture wars are, in essence, political wars.

00:23:34.000 The Democrats have turned every single thing political.

00:23:37.000 So much so, that even some members of the traditional left are looking at them cross-eyed and going, this is insane.

00:23:41.000 You guys have lost it.

00:23:44.000 And as the left pushes further and further, because they think that they now have the ability to walk over America, they believe that they can just, they've grabbed the power in these institutional strongholds, and they're just going to bulldoze America.

00:23:54.000 They're going to generate an outsized amount of blowback.

00:23:57.000 I'm not sure that they are aware of this, or maybe they just don't care.

00:24:00.000 Maybe they think they can just steamroll the blowback, but I think that's going to be trouble for them.

00:24:06.000 Sarah Silverman.

00:24:07.000 Over the weekend, Sarah Silverman is about as far left as is possible to be.

00:24:10.000 Campaigned for Bernie Sanders, wildly anti-Trump.

00:24:13.000 But Sarah Silverman happens to be a comedian. 0.96

00:24:16.000 And because she's a comedian, she has been cancelled several times for quote-unquote bad old jokes. 0.57

00:24:21.000 So over the weekend, she said, you know what, I'm getting kind of tired of the Democratic Party, which has bought into all of this stuff.

00:24:27.000 I don't think that Sarah Silverman speaks for no one.

00:24:29.000 I think she speaks for an awful lot of people here.

00:24:31.000 Here's Sarah Silverman saying, unbelievably enough, an intelligent thing.

00:24:35.000 It's the Absolutist-ness of the party I am in.

00:24:43.000 That is such a turnoff to me. 0.98

00:24:46.000 It's so f***ing elitist. 0.66

00:24:49.000 You know, for something called progressive, it allows for zero progress. 0.96

00:24:56.000 It's all or nothing. 0.83

00:24:57.000 No steps toward all or f***ing nothing. 0.98

00:25:03.000 Again, righteousness porn. 0.98

00:25:05.000 And she is right about this. 0.84

00:25:07.000 And this is what the left pushes every single day.

00:25:09.000 Because they need a target every single day.

00:25:11.000 See, when you have a roving mob on the internet waiting for the target, then you need a target.

00:25:16.000 It used to be that mobs had to mobilize around usually a terrible purpose.

00:25:21.000 Everybody would come home from work and then they would see something bad happen and then they would mob and do something awful and evil.

00:25:26.000 Now, you have a roving mob on the internet that just spends all day on the internet.

00:25:30.000 And so the only question is, around what drop of blood are they going to congregate?

00:25:34.000 You put a drop of blood in the water and then they all just swarm.

00:25:37.000 And it's pretty obvious what kind of culture they're attempting to build here.

00:25:39.000 It's a culture of censorious righteousness porn, as she says.

00:25:43.000 That actually tolerates actual porn, right?

00:25:45.000 You have to understand that what they are acting in defense of is not a counterculture.

00:25:50.000 What they are acting in defense of is an anti-culture that tears away all traditional standards.

00:25:54.000 And so anybody who is a defender of any element of traditional standards, up to and including your individual right to offend, that must be torn down too.

00:26:02.000 It is important that anything that smacks of the old ways, and the old ways is not just, you know, two parent household, the white picket fence, and the two and a half kids.

00:26:13.000 It's not just that.

00:26:14.000 The old ways include your ability to offend anyone.

00:26:17.000 If you offend anyone, then this means that you must be cast out into the outer realms.

00:26:21.000 You have to be wished into the cornfield.

00:26:23.000 This is why The Grammys.

00:26:25.000 It's hard to square.

00:26:27.000 When you watched any of the Grammys last night, which I don't know who did. 0.99

00:26:30.000 The ratings probably were garbage.

00:26:32.000 But when you watch the Grammys, which is made for blue checkmarks on Twitter, there were two competing visions that were really at odds. 0.96

00:26:38.000 One was, Bill Burr said a thing.

00:26:40.000 And the thing was unwoke.

00:26:42.000 And this means that Bill Burr is bad.

00:26:44.000 And he must trend.

00:26:45.000 And he is cancelled.

00:26:46.000 Because we must never allow anything like what Bill Burr said to be said ever again.

00:26:50.000 Not in a public space, guys.

00:26:52.000 Bill Burr has to be stopped.

00:26:53.000 And he violated our sense of propriety.

00:26:53.000 He's a comedian.

00:26:57.000 Our puritanism. 0.97

00:26:58.000 The new puritans are great with porn and very bad with political dissidents. 1.00

00:27:03.000 If you disagree with them, then you must be burned at the stake. 1.00

00:27:07.000 But if you want to simulate lesbian sex acts on stage in front of millions of people, then not only is that good, that is wonderful for our culture. 0.99

00:27:13.000 So Bill Burr, he gets up and he makes a joke because why the hell... And he's right. 0.98

00:27:19.000 He was there to introduce the best Latino or Latina artist or something.

00:27:25.000 And Bill Burr's like, why am I doing this?

00:27:26.000 I'm a white guy.

00:27:27.000 You can see all the feminists out there already complaining about it. 1.00

00:27:30.000 Here's what Bill Burr had to say.

00:27:31.000 And then he trended for this.

00:27:33.000 Was I the only one who wanted to kill himself during that piano solo?

00:27:39.000 I bought a suit for this!

00:27:41.000 I thought I was gonna be on TV! 1.00

00:27:42.000 I'm such a moron! 1.00

00:27:43.000 I am losing so much money right now! 0.99

00:27:45.000 And the winner of the Grammy goes to Natalia Lafourcade.

00:27:50.000 Oh, wait.

00:27:53.000 Dude, you oh, I will.

00:27:58.000 I will accept on behalf of her if I butcher the name.

00:28:01.000 I'm sorry.

00:28:01.000 All right.

00:28:02.000 Hey, how many feminists are like going nuts? 1.00

00:28:05.000 Why is this white male doing all this Latino stuff? 1.00

00:28:08.000 Okay.

00:28:08.000 And people on the woke left were like, it's true.

00:28:11.000 Why is that white male doing all this Latino stuff and then commenting on it? 0.76

00:28:14.000 How dare he laughing about butchering people's names? 0.98

00:28:17.000 How dare he?

00:28:18.000 This is where the puritanism comes out.

00:28:18.000 Right.

00:28:19.000 because our cultural Puritans can never allow Bill Burr to make a joke about his own inability to pronounce Latino names.

00:28:25.000 You can, sorry, Latinx names, right?

00:28:28.000 You can never make a joke about that is witch burning stuff, right? 1.00

00:28:31.000 He must be burned. 0.99

00:28:33.000 Bill Burr is a bad man because he is cis and he is white, where the H comes before the W, white, right? 1.00

00:28:39.000 He is a very, very bad man. 0.99

00:28:41.000 But you know what is great for our culture?

00:28:43.000 What is great for our culture is Harry Styles wore a boa because he was doing a bad David Bowie impersonation from 1983. 0.72

00:28:49.000 And then what is also fantastic, fantastic for our culture is extraordinarily graphic simulated lesbian sex acts on stage for the brand new artist of the year, Megan Thee Stallion, her given name.

00:29:02.000 Her parents decided that her middle name had to be Thee, not with one E, which would make sense.

00:29:07.000 She'd be Megan Thee Stallion.

00:29:09.000 Megan Thee Stallion, you are the stallion.

00:29:12.000 Hey, not just she.

00:29:13.000 You are.

00:29:13.000 Megan V. V be a stallion.

00:29:16.000 So she and Cardi B simulated, like, full-on pornographic acts.

00:29:20.000 And this has been the shtick for a while, right?

00:29:22.000 I mean, going all the way back to Madonna.

00:29:23.000 Let's not pretend this is anything new.

00:29:24.000 The simulated sex acts on stage at the Grammys has been quite a thing for several decades.

00:29:28.000 But this was, I will say, uniquely graphic.

00:29:31.000 So here was a little bit of what happened at the Grammys. 0.92

00:29:33.000 Remember, our new Puritans are great with porn and infecting the culture with debauched behavior. 1.00

00:29:41.000 They are fantastic with this. 0.97

00:29:42.000 They are the same people who will say that WAP is a deeply empowering feminist song because nothing says empowerment quite like rapping about the moisture state of your genitals for the pleasure of men to consume your actual content.

00:29:54.000 Feminisming up the wazoo. 1.00

00:29:55.000 Tremendous levels of feminisming. 1.00

00:29:57.000 That is great for our culture, but if I ran, the zoo has to go, guys.

00:30:00.000 If I ran, the zoo is deeply dangerous for your kids.

00:30:02.000 If your kids read about the island of Mazurka with a bird called the Yurka...

00:30:09.000 Your kids will be ruined for life.

00:30:10.000 Deeply disturbed for life.

00:30:11.000 But if you give your kid puberty blockers at the age of five so they can decide their gender at the age of 13, and if you infuse the culture with a bunch of warmed-over, softcore pornography on the Grammys, and then call it high culture, that's not bad for the culture.

00:30:25.000 That's good for the culture.

00:30:26.000 This is like Shakespeare.

00:30:28.000 It's amazing.

00:30:29.000 Now listen, I'm not sure that there is a deep connection between the quality of art that a culture produces and the morality of the culture.

00:30:37.000 German culture produces some wonderful highs, but I will say this, I have yet to see a culture that produces low art and pretends that it is high art that is worthwhile. 1.00

00:30:47.000 That is not a thing that, so just because a culture produces high art doesn't mean the culture is good, but just because a culture produces low art and that becomes the height of art, that's a pretty good indicator that you have a culture in decline.

00:30:58.000 This is a culture in decline right here.

00:31:00.000 Hey yo, hoe, wait, wait, wait. 1.00

00:31:03.000 I did a rookie and I'm not set to wait.

00:31:07.000 I'm talking wild, wild, wild, no to wait.

00:31:10.000 And I'll make it rain if you wanna wait, wait, wait, wait.

00:31:15.000 And people cheering, then a woman dancing inside of a box in which cash is being blown at her. 0.97

00:31:22.000 This is high culture, guys.

00:31:23.000 This is the height of our culture.

00:31:25.000 So, if I ran the zoo, very bad for our kids.

00:31:27.000 Don't know if I ran the zoo.

00:31:28.000 Huck Finn, terrible for your children.

00:31:30.000 Mark Twain, has to go. 0.98

00:31:31.000 Shakespeare is sexist. 0.99

00:31:33.000 Shakespeare is racist. 0.99

00:31:34.000 Shakespeare is old-fashioned. 0.99

00:31:35.000 Our new culture, however, has amazing things like this, like showing on Major national television, in the evening time, full-on simulated lesbian pornography. 0.78

00:31:46.000 Well done, everyone.

00:31:47.000 Like, just, I feel our culture is in great hands.

00:31:50.000 And, by the way, if you make a joke about it, you ought to be cancelled.

00:31:53.000 If you make a joke about it, then we ought to go after your advertisers and get you fired. 0.99

00:31:57.000 I'm sorry, but this new Puritanism is not going to stand. 1.00

00:31:59.000 It is garbage. 0.98

00:32:00.000 It is not even Puritanism on behalf of some purported higher consonants with the universe or something. 0.99

00:32:07.000 It is not like, I'm trying to get in touch with deeper values.

00:32:09.000 I'm trying to get in touch with my God, and I can't do that while these people are dissenting.

00:32:13.000 That's bad enough.

00:32:14.000 Theocracy is bad. 1.00

00:32:16.000 But this is just theocracy on behalf of pagan garbage. 0.99

00:32:19.000 This is theocracy on behalf of pornography, which is a very weird form of theocracy. 1.00

00:32:23.000 It is just paganism.

00:32:25.000 And that pagan culture will brook no dissent. 0.99

00:32:28.000 Everyone must be ruined. 0.99

00:32:29.000 And if you cross the woke pagan culture, then you must be destroyed. 1.00

00:32:32.000 This is gonna generate an awful lot of backlash.

00:32:34.000 Okay, we'll get to more of the destruction of our culture because it is a thing, okay?

00:32:38.000 It does matter.

00:32:39.000 We'll get to more of that in just one second.

00:33:52.000 I mean, there has to be a limit to this, right?

00:34:00.000 But we're not going to reach that limit for quite a while.

00:34:02.000 Remember, I've been reporting to you, thanks to producers Savvy and Jessica, I've been on top from the beginning of this Bachelor controversy, in which Chris Harrison got himself into super giant hot water.

00:34:14.000 Why?

00:34:14.000 For the great sin of defending a Bachelor contestant named Rachel Kirkconnell, because a few years ago, she went to some sort of antebellum-themed costume party.

00:34:23.000 And because it was an antebellum-themed costume party, this meant that they were neglecting the evil sins of slavery.

00:34:28.000 Now, again, slavery, the great evil of American history, no question. 0.83

00:34:33.000 Also, wearing a floofy dress from 1850 does not mean that you are, in fact, a fan of slavery.

00:34:37.000 That's an absurdity.

00:34:38.000 It's like saying that because you dressed up as George Washington for Halloween one year, you were a fan of slavery.

00:34:42.000 Like, this is, I'm sorry, no.

00:34:44.000 It is true that people who dress like that held slaves. 0.74

00:34:48.000 It is also true that people dress up as people throughout history who have been in cultures that held slaves.

00:34:52.000 In fact, if you pick any culture prior to about 1600, chances are there was slavery in that culture.

00:34:58.000 Okay, but beyond that, he didn't even defend the behavior of Chris Harrison.

00:35:03.000 He just said, maybe you should grant her some grace.

00:35:05.000 Maybe she didn't know that this was offensive.

00:35:06.000 Maybe you should just leave her alone and not mob her. 1.00

00:35:09.000 Maybe you shouldn't go after her parents and their voting record.

00:35:12.000 And you know who else said this?

00:35:13.000 The other person who said this was the guy she was dating at the time, who happened to be The Bachelor.

00:35:17.000 She won, right?

00:35:18.000 She ended up being The Bachelorette.

00:35:21.000 Harrison then did an ill-advised interview with a woke former bachelorette, and during that interview, he said that she needed to have a little grace.

00:35:30.000 He said, we all need to have a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion.

00:35:33.000 I've seen some of the stuff online, this judge jury executioner thing where parents are just tearing this girl's life apart and diving into like her parents voting record.

00:35:39.000 It's unbelievably alarming to watch this.

00:35:41.000 He was then issued, he was forced to issue an apology and then a second apology.

00:35:45.000 But now it turns out that Chris Harrison will no longer be actually hosting the show at all.

00:35:52.000 That is after he did another one of these mewling interviews, the Good Morning America, in which he announced he was taking drastic steps to save his job, including lessons with a race educator. 0.51

00:36:01.000 He was going to get the woke re-education, and that still wasn't enough.

00:36:04.000 His job is still gone.

00:36:06.000 Show producers announced that he was being permanently replaced, at least as host of The Bachelorette, the female version of the show.

00:36:12.000 The outlet reported, Chris Harrison will not host the next season of The Bachelorette for the first time in the history of the franchise, which began as a guilty pleasure when it debuted in 2002.

00:36:21.000 We are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks, said Warner and ABC.

00:36:28.000 These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.

00:36:34.000 Yes, nothing says a reflection of love quite like forcing somebody to lose his job for suggesting that perhaps you should have grace for other human beings.

00:36:41.000 The backlash when this comes is going to be significant.

00:36:43.000 And then, of course, when there is a backlash, it will be attributed to racism and sexism and brutality and homophobia and all the rest. 1.00

00:36:49.000 Because that's the way our stupid culture works. 0.99

00:36:52.000 The way that all of this works is that the left does something extreme and extraordinary while mainstreaming a bunch of fringe behavior. 1.00

00:36:59.000 And then, when you protest, they say it's because you're a bad person.

00:37:05.000 Americans are going to stand for this up to the point where they don't stand for it anymore. 0.85

00:37:08.000 And when the backlash comes, it is going to be incredibly strong.

00:37:10.000 But good news, before the backlash comes, the Democrats are going to take advantage of the fact that they have the commanding heights of all of our institutions and the government to ram through everything they could possibly want.

00:37:21.000 And in order to do that, they also have to prolong the crisis that they believe we are in with regard to COVID.

00:37:25.000 Now, let's make this clear.

00:37:26.000 We are not in a crisis anymore with regard to COVID.

00:37:28.000 ICUs around the country are threatened nowhere.

00:37:30.000 There's not a single place in the United States where ICUs are under threat of being overwhelmed.

00:37:34.000 There are still a lot of COVID patients that are coming in.

00:37:36.000 They tend to be mainly younger and less severe because a huge percentage of the elderly in America's elderly states, places like Florida, are already vaccinated.

00:37:44.000 The vaccines are going out at an extraordinary rate.

00:37:46.000 we're doing about 2 million shots a day.

00:37:49.000 This crisis is drawing to an end.

00:37:51.000 But in order to ram through massive government policy, the left has to pretend that the crisis is never going to end.

00:37:57.000 And they're already starting to morph this, right?

00:37:59.000 So they're already starting to say, well, it's no longer a COVID crisis.

00:38:01.000 Now there's the possibility that climate change will be the big problem, right?

00:38:04.000 This is how you have Chuck Todd saying, you know what?

00:38:07.000 Sure, this pandemic might be coming to an end, but we need more government spending and we need to build back better because there could be more pandemics in the future Remember, before this, the suggestion was we needed to overthrow the structure of the American economy because of climate change and income inequality.

00:38:23.000 Then it turned out that actually the best possible response to income change, income inequality, and climate change, it turns out, is actually more capitalism in a lot of circumstances, not less capitalism.

00:38:32.000 But The left is pushing that as the crisis.

00:38:35.000 Now this crisis appears to be winning.

00:38:36.000 So Chuck Todd is saying, you know what?

00:38:37.000 We'll have more pandemics because of climate change.

00:38:39.000 So maybe we should continue doing this stuff.

00:38:42.000 You know, when you think about sadly having to prepare for this again, right?

00:38:46.000 And I know there's a lot of folks who who think that, you know, due to climate change and due to the globalization in general, it's inevitable we're going to deal with more and more viruses like this.

00:38:59.000 The biggest lesson you're going to take away to prepare for the next one.

00:39:04.000 Okay.

00:39:06.000 The desire to prolong the crisis is obvious, and captain crisis here is Dr. Anthony Fauci, the second greatest doctor in America, after Dr. Joe Biden, who, if you have a heart attack, will immediately diagnose you with a community college degree.

00:39:16.000 Dr. Fauci was on with Chuck Todd, and he was explaining that, you know what?

00:39:21.000 We're just going to continue this.

00:39:22.000 We're going to continue to pretend that this crisis is a crisis.

00:39:25.000 He says, I can't tell you when we can schedule weddings indoors.

00:39:28.000 He can't.

00:39:29.000 I can.

00:39:30.000 You know when you can schedule a wedding indoors?

00:39:32.000 Right now.

00:39:33.000 And if people don't want to show, they don't have to show.

00:39:34.000 You can schedule a wedding indoors right now.

00:39:36.000 And if you're vaccinated, you don't have to worry about it.

00:39:38.000 The CDC standards say that if you are vaccinated and you are in contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19, you do not even have to quarantine, which means they are not worried that you're going to pass along the disease.

00:39:48.000 By the way, that's what the studies show from Israel.

00:39:50.000 They show that the rates of transmission for people who have already been vaccinated and have the antibodies are extremely low.

00:39:56.000 If you're vaccinated and if you've had the opportunity to get a vaccine and you are not vaccinated, at that point, that one's on you.

00:40:03.000 I can tell you right now when people are going to start rescheduling weddings.

00:40:05.000 Indoors. 0.99

00:40:06.000 And the answer is over the course of the next month and a half.

00:40:09.000 By the time that we... It is already mid-March.

00:40:11.000 By the time we hit the beginning of April, there are going to be people starting to schedule weddings.

00:40:16.000 And by the time we hit the beginning of May, there will be full-scale indoor weddings.

00:40:19.000 But here is Fauci saying, I can't tell you when to schedule a wedding indoors.

00:40:22.000 Maybe never.

00:40:23.000 Maybe never.

00:40:23.000 Guess what?

00:40:25.000 No, this is still a free republic, supposedly.

00:40:28.000 We are not going to listen to you just because 40 years ago you were appointed the head of a government agency.

00:40:34.000 I will say, the amount of respect the media have for Fauci is not matched in any sense by the amount of respect that people in private sector medicine have for Dr. Fauci.

00:40:42.000 It is not a thing.

00:40:44.000 Okay, here is Dr. Fauci saying that basically, you know, he'll give you permission when you can go back to having weddings.

00:40:50.000 When can people plan an indoor wedding?

00:40:56.000 You know, that's a good question, and I think that's going to be within a reasonable period of time.

00:41:02.000 You notice what the CDC is doing?

00:41:07.000 Excuse me, I didn't hear what you said.

00:41:10.000 What time of the year?

00:41:12.000 You know, I can't give you that exact date because it's going to absolutely depend, and this gets back to our conversation a minute or two ago.

00:41:20.000 It's going to depend on the level of infection in community.

00:41:24.000 Okay, so he can't tell you.

00:41:25.000 Also, he says there will be a degree of normality by the summer.

00:41:27.000 What degree?

00:41:28.000 He can't tell you.

00:41:30.000 Our scientific establishment has been corrupted by politics.

00:41:32.000 We've talked about the military being corrupted by politics.

00:41:34.000 Our culture has been completely destroyed by politics.

00:41:37.000 And we also now have the scientific community destroyed by politics.

00:41:40.000 It is incredible to me that we spent a year suggesting that Trump was tearing the heart out of the scientific community while he was allowing Fauci to go on TV and spout whatever Fauci wanted to say.

00:41:50.000 And yet the Biden administration is clearly and obviously and openly changing CDC standards to match their political priors.

00:41:58.000 And the entire media is like, oh, well, I guess they're following the science.

00:42:00.000 No, it is the opposite.

00:42:02.000 Here's Anthony Fauci saying, well, we'll have a degree of normality by the summer.

00:42:04.000 No, we're not going to have a degree of normality by the summer.

00:42:06.000 We are going to have normality by the summer, period.

00:42:08.000 End of story.

00:42:10.000 There are two issues.

00:42:12.000 Getting enough doses, which we will have with the new contracts with the pharmaceutical companies, but once you get those doses, to get it into people's arms.

00:42:22.000 And that's the reason why when the president said by the 4th of July, we'll believe strongly that if we do all these things, we'll reach a certain degree of normality by then, and then well into the summer we'll get even better and better towards normal.

00:42:37.000 It's amazing how he turned toward the positive tack, by the way, as soon as this giant useless and counterproductive stimulus act passed.

00:42:44.000 Okay, that thing is replete with pork. 0.84

00:42:46.000 And we all know the actual priorities here.

00:42:48.000 Again, prolonging the crisis so that you can continue to force forward all sorts of insane spending.

00:42:52.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi talking about the bailout to unions.

00:42:55.000 So there's a $90 billion bailout to private sector unions in this thing.

00:42:58.000 They'd signed bad contracts with their companies, their pension funds were running out of money because they were predicated on false promises.

00:43:03.000 And now you, the taxpayer, you get to pick up the check for that.

00:43:07.000 So Nancy Pelosi says the bailout to the unions was about the children, and also their grandparents, and also their grandparents, In other words, yes, we are just paying off our chief constituencies.

00:43:17.000 And we're pretending it's about the crisis, but it ain't.

00:43:18.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi.

00:43:20.000 I've always said that the three most important issues facing the Congress are our children, our children, our children.

00:43:26.000 Their health, their education, the economic security of their families, including pension security for their grandparents, and an environment in which they can thrive safely, a world at peace in which they can reach their fulfillment.

00:43:41.000 Well, the first three of those, their health, their education, And the economic security of their families was very much affected by the Biden American rescue plan.

00:43:52.000 Again, they're just going to keep talking this thing up.

00:43:53.000 Plus, you know what's coming on the other end.

00:43:55.000 What Democrats really want, which is higher taxes.

00:43:57.000 That's what Democrats really want.

00:43:58.000 And the great lie they will tell you is that they're going to not raise taxes on anybody except the super wealthy.

00:44:02.000 The super wealthy can't pay for all this.

00:44:03.000 No one can pay for all this.

00:44:05.000 You could confiscate every dollar of wealth from the top 1% in America and redistribute it today, and it would not dent America's national debt.

00:44:12.000 It would not dent the kind of spending that we are doing right now.

00:44:14.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi openly embracing the idea of raising taxes down the line. 1.00

00:44:19.000 Again, there are going to be consequences for the spending binge that we have all decided to go along with here.

00:44:25.000 I'm glad that we have decided as a culture that the giant gaping hole in our hearts left as a result of the death of religion and community can be filled with puritanical wokeness. 0.85

00:44:34.000 Ridiculous hedonism on TV and government stimmy checks, but it can't.

00:44:39.000 It ain't gonna cure anything.

00:44:40.000 All that's gonna come on the other end is pain, including increases in taxes for people in the middle.

00:44:44.000 I love how people want to have European styles of living, but without having to pay European taxes if you earn over 60 grand a year.

00:44:48.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi.

00:44:50.000 You signaled Friday that major infrastructure legislation is coming next.

00:44:54.000 That's gonna require new taxes. 1.00

00:44:56.000 Can you keep Democrats united behind a proposal like that and attract any Republican support?

00:45:01.000 Well, we'll see.

00:45:02.000 I mean, the... But it is going to take new taxes, right?

00:45:05.000 You say fiscally sound.

00:45:07.000 Well, we'll see.

00:45:07.000 There's some fees that spring from certain harbor maintenance tax credits, this, that.

00:45:15.000 We'll see.

00:45:16.000 I think that some of it needs to be... We'll look at everything.

00:45:21.000 Oh, yeah, they will look at everything.

00:45:22.000 The bottom line is this.

00:45:23.000 There's a piece in the New York Times today about the era of Bill Clinton being over.

00:45:27.000 And that's right.

00:45:27.000 The era of Bill Clinton is over because Bill Clinton was a Democrat who embraced the basic notion that the era of big government was over.

00:45:33.000 The era of big government is back. 0.76

00:45:34.000 It sucked in the 60s.

00:45:35.000 It's going to be even worse now. 0.89

00:45:36.000 At least in the 60s, there was an argument to be made that you were trying to rectify deep and abiding American imbalances.

00:45:41.000 At this point, all you're attempting to do is cram down a socialistic version of big government in which government and corporations were canned in hand to destroy your freedoms and to restrict competition in favor of some sort of bizarre version of utopia in which you're not allowed to speak freely and the government hands you a check.

00:45:57.000 That is the direction in which we're moving.

00:45:59.000 All righty.

00:45:59.000 We'll be back here later today with an additional hour of content.

00:46:02.000 In the meantime, go check out the Michael Mowles show on today's episode.

00:46:04.000 Michael will be talking about the possibility of Meghan Markle running for office.

00:46:08.000 Quick note there, by the way, I predicted that a year ago.

00:46:10.000 I said in January 2020 that Meghan Markle wanted to run for president, and now they're talking about that.

00:46:14.000 So I have to stop joking things into reality.

00:46:16.000 It's really a problem.

00:46:17.000 That episode is available right now.

00:46:19.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
