00:01:35.000 Alrighty, so.
00:01:36.000 It is the new day.
00:01:38.000 The dawn has come.
00:01:40.000 The clouds have parted and the rays of light shine down because Joe Biden is president of the United States.
00:01:46.000 And never, ever, ever will we be lied to again.
00:01:48.000 You know, all that Donald Trump did for years on end was lied to us.
00:01:51.000 All of his press secretaries lied to us.
00:01:54.000 Kayleigh McEnany must be barred from all human contact.
00:01:59.000 We have to put Sarah Huckabee Sanders in solitary confinement.
00:02:02.000 We have to find Sean Spicer wherever he is.
00:02:05.000 We have to wrest him from the set of Dancing with the Stars and bar him from polite human society.
00:02:09.000 But now, now we have the greatest and most honest of all of the humans.
00:02:15.000 So many honest humans in the Biden administration.
00:02:17.000 It's not that Joe Biden is a corrupt old politician who's been in Washington, D.C.
00:02:20.000 since he was 30 years old.
00:02:21.000 And it's not that Jen Psaki is an actual overt liar who lied routinely for a living while she was with the Obama administration.
00:02:26.000 No, these are the adults in the room So much adulthood happening.
00:02:31.000 In fact, this is what CNN's Dana Bash has said, right?
00:02:33.000 That anyone who has a connection to reality knows the adults are back in Washington, and that means that we can all just sleep on this, right?
00:02:39.000 We can go to sleep again.
00:02:41.000 Because let's be real.
00:02:42.000 Now we can sleep securely knowing that when the call comes in the middle of the night, only the greatest, wisest, and most honest of human beings will be occupying the White House.
00:02:50.000 Here is Dana Bash journalisming all over the place about the wonderful, innate honesty and decency of all the people who are in power now.
00:02:58.000 It's just amazing!
00:02:59.000 Here's Dana Bash Objective Journalism-ing.
00:03:02.000 If you take what you just saw and heard in totality, anybody who has any connection to reality about what is going on around them should have watched that and said, the adults are back in the room.
00:03:19.000 That is what the kind of vibe was that President Biden was clearly trying to get out there.
00:03:28.000 And it made it easier because he has a plan.
00:03:32.000 That would be Breonna Keillor who is sitting there going, hmm, yes, hmm, wow, hmm, yes.
00:03:38.000 So much journalism happening on CNN.
00:03:40.000 They're the objective journalists.
00:03:41.000 And you know what?
00:03:42.000 The White House, this White House, the Biden White House, they hold themselves to that higher standard.
00:03:47.000 In fact, Jen Psaki.
00:03:48.000 Again, a person who lied routinely to the media while she was at the State Department under Barack Obama.
00:03:52.000 Now she says, we're bringing transparency back.
00:03:55.000 It's like Justin Timberlake, but with politics.
00:03:57.000 Here she is explaining how wonderful transparency will be under the Biden administration.
00:04:03.000 And it's also being straight and transparent, straightforward and transparent.
00:04:07.000 And, you know, there's no better example than that, than COVID-19 and our efforts to get the pandemic under control.
00:04:14.000 There are going to be days where people are not going to be hearing what they want to hear, where the data is going to be concerning and troubling.
00:04:20.000 But we want to bring transparency back.
00:04:22.000 And so we're just going to try to deliver on that in the briefing room.
00:04:26.000 But really, the job, the back and forth is the job.
00:04:29.000 Wow, the back and forth is the job.
00:04:31.000 Brooke Baldwin saying, hmm, yes, hmm, all the way through.
00:04:34.000 Very solid stuff there.
00:04:35.000 Okay, so just how honest and transparent were they on the first day?
00:04:39.000 The very first day, were they super honest?
00:04:40.000 Were they super transparent?
00:04:42.000 Were they just absolutely clear with the American public?
00:04:44.000 Well, let's take it from the top.
00:04:45.000 So Joe Biden has a plan to stop COVID.
00:04:47.000 In fact, he tweeted out that he wasn't gonna stop the economy.
00:04:50.000 He wasn't gonna stop your life.
00:04:51.000 He was going to stop the virus.
00:04:53.000 His plan for stopping virus.
00:04:54.000 Wait for it.
00:04:55.000 Wait for it.
00:04:55.000 Wait for it now.
00:04:56.000 Wear a mask.
00:04:57.000 Boom!
00:04:58.000 Done.
00:04:59.000 Amazing!
00:05:00.000 Not as though mask wearing has been tried all over Europe and has generally not stopped the spread of the virus.
00:05:05.000 Not as though there's been a mask mandate in place in L.A., like this whole time in L.A.
00:05:08.000 is just getting walloped right now.
00:05:10.000 If Joe Biden says wear a mask, you know the virus will just die.
00:05:14.000 That's what will happen.
00:05:15.000 Not only did Joe Biden say that he has a solution, which is to wear a mask, he actually signed an executive order that anyone who enters federal property Right, if you use cross-border transportation, if you move between states, anything that the federal government has a hand in, you must wear a mask, and this, this will solve COVID.
00:05:34.000 Again, I'm not an anti-mask guy, right?
00:05:36.000 I wear a mask.
00:05:37.000 People in my office wear masks.
00:05:39.000 I think it's a good idea, but this is not a solution.
00:05:41.000 Here's Joe Biden saying, though, no, but I'm not allowed to say that.
00:05:44.000 Here he is, wear a mask, guys, just wear a mask.
00:05:47.000 One of our 100-day challenges is asking the American people to mask up for the first 100 days, the next 99 days.
00:05:58.000 The masks have become a partisan issue, unfortunately.
00:06:01.000 But it's a patriotic act.
00:06:04.000 But for a few months to wear a mask, no vaccines, the fact is that they're the single best thing we can do.
00:06:11.000 They're even more important than the vaccines because they take time to work.
00:06:15.000 And that's true.
00:06:16.000 I mean, we should be wearing masks and we should be socially distancing until we can get people the vaccines that they need.
00:06:21.000 There's only one problem, which is that Joe Biden immediately, upon being inaugurated, started walking around federal property without a mask.
00:06:28.000 He wasn't wearing a mask.
00:06:30.000 To a normal journalist, that might seem like a question, but we know that asking those sorts of questions are completely unnecessary now, because this is the most honest and transparent administration we have ever seen.
00:06:40.000 We knew this from the moment they were ushered into power.
00:06:43.000 So, Peter Doocy of Fox News has the temerity, the temerity, that bastard, to ask Jen Psaki this question.
00:06:51.000 You know, Joe Biden says that he wants masks for everybody.
00:06:54.000 In fact, he put into law an actual mask mandate on federal property.
00:06:58.000 But Joe Biden wasn't wearing a mask on federal property yesterday.
00:07:02.000 Isn't that sort of weird?
00:07:03.000 Here is Peter Doocy asking the question, and Jen Psaki is like, well, here's that vaunted transparency, openness, honesty, and just that straight talk that we can look forward to for four years.
00:07:14.000 I think he was celebrating an evening of a historic day in our country.
00:07:21.000 Yesterday was a historic moment in our history.
00:07:23.000 He was inaugurated as President of the United States.
00:07:26.000 He was surrounded by his family.
00:07:28.000 We take a number of precautions, but I think we have bigger issues to worry about at this moment in time.
00:07:34.000 Okay, can you imagine for just one second if Kayleigh McEnany gave that same exact answer?
00:07:39.000 He was celebrating with his family.
00:07:39.000 It was a historic day.
00:07:41.000 Do you think that would wash for one iota of one second?
00:07:45.000 Okay, all we heard throughout the Trump administration was that if Donald Trump was in a room with a bunch of other people who had been tested, if he was out there with his family and he wasn't wearing a mask, why won't he mask up?
00:07:56.000 By the way, I didn't realize that there was an exception in federal law for the federal property mask mandate for historic ceremonies.
00:08:03.000 Didn't realize that was a thing.
00:08:04.000 You know how many people have not been able to hold weddings during this pandemic because it's a pandemic?
00:08:08.000 You know how many people have not been able to hold funerals for their loved ones?
00:08:11.000 That seems, by the way, a lot more important than Joe Biden celebrating himself.
00:08:16.000 I like, just to be honest with you, you honoring your grandmother who died, you honoring a friend or family member who died by going to a funeral, that seems like on a raw level, more important, both emotionally and psychologically, than Joe Biden getting to have that triumphant walk without wearing the mask.
00:08:30.000 But Jen Psaki says it, and so it is so.
00:08:33.000 So much transparency, so much honesty.
00:08:36.000 Wow, just incredible.
00:08:37.000 That was only the beginning, by the way.
00:08:38.000 Okay, this, it gets a lot worse.

You need to protect yourself. This is why you should check out my friends at bambee.com slash Shapiro to schedule your free HR audit. Okay, so, and you might say to yourself, okay, well, yeah, Joe Biden not wearing a mask on federal property, Not such a big deal, I mean, it's kind of a big deal.
00:09:58.000 I mean, like, Gavin Newsom going and eating at the French Laundry while having a restaurant mandate and violating the restaurant mandate.
00:10:03.000 Like, that was kind of a big deal.
00:10:05.000 And Joe Biden saying, like, his first thing is everybody needs to wear a mask and then immediately stripping off the mask.
00:10:10.000 And then the excuse is it was a historic ceremony.
00:10:12.000 A little bit of it.
00:10:13.000 But you know what?
00:10:14.000 In the broad scheme of things, it's really more about hypocrisy than it is about, like, a big deal with regard to lying about policy.
00:10:20.000 For example, Well, what if they also lied about policy?
00:10:23.000 So, the Biden administration has spent the first 48 hours of its existence explaining that there is no plan for distribution.
00:10:31.000 None.
00:10:32.000 That the vaccines that have been shot into the arms of several million Americans at this point, right?
00:10:36.000 We are shooting into the arms of about a million Americans a day.
00:10:39.000 We learned this morning that the Trump administration had no real plan for the production and distribution of the vaccine.
00:10:45.000 said this yesterday, Trump had no plan for distribution, none, which is incredible.
00:10:48.000 I mean, without a plan, the man was able to ramp up vaccine distribution to a million a day. My goodness, if he'd had a plan, how great would that be? Here is Nancy Pelosi spilling out this lie yesterday.
00:10:59.000 We learned this morning that the Trump administration had no real plan for the production and distribution of the vaccine, just another in a series of their terrible, ineffective approach to it.
00:11:17.000 From the start, in denial, delay, distortion, calling it a hoax.
00:11:24.000 And now we find that they didn't even have a plan.
00:11:29.000 OK, so this was the Biden line, right?
00:11:31.000 The Biden administration line, the Democratic line, is there's no plan for vaccine distribution.
00:11:34.000 It just does not exist.
00:11:36.000 And the media dutifully report this.
00:11:37.000 CNN reported it, according to Gravion, some 47 times yesterday.
00:11:41.000 47 times they mentioned the idea that there was sheer chaos in the vaccine distribution.
00:11:45.000 Now, can you make the vaccine distribution plan better?
00:11:47.000 Sure.
00:11:48.000 But the idea that there was no plan, as it turns out, is just overtly false.
00:11:48.000 Why not?
00:11:51.000 Doesn't matter.
00:11:53.000 You know, buying that transparency from Biden.
00:11:56.000 They're just going to repeat this crap, even though it's not true.
00:11:58.000 I mean, really not true.
00:12:00.000 OK, here is NBC's Kristen Welker saying they are starting from scratch.
00:12:03.000 I mean, it's just chaos over here.
00:12:06.000 What you're seeing now is this acknowledgment, you're absolutely right, by Zeinst and other top officials here who are saying, look, the Trump administration did not leave us with any working plan to roll out this vaccine.
00:12:18.000 So yes, we are starting from scratch.
00:12:20.000 But I think that what Fauci was saying, and we'll have to press him on this today when we get to ask him some questions, is that at least now we're looking in the mirror and acknowledging, OK, we need to start from scratch.
00:12:33.000 Here's what a plan will look like.
00:12:35.000 Okay, what if I told you that Anthony Fauci, the greatest of all doctors who has ever lived?
00:12:39.000 I mean, in terms of ranking doctors, it basically goes like this.
00:12:42.000 It goes like, Dr. Jonas Salk, it goes Dr. J, Dr. Strange, and then Dr. Fauci's like way above all of them.
00:12:52.000 Dr. Fauci's the greatest doctor who's ever lived.
00:12:53.000 Let me just put that out there.
00:12:54.000 The man is just an unbelievably good doctor.
00:12:56.000 Like, if anyone ever has a medical problem, call Dr. Fauci.
00:12:59.000 He's unbelievable.
00:13:00.000 Anyway, he's a godlike figure we should all light votive candles to.
00:13:04.000 I was informed of this over the course of the last year.
00:13:06.000 Well, what if I told you that Anthony Fauci said from the White House podium yesterday that they are not starting from scratch?
00:13:12.000 And yet the media repeated the lie because it sets the expectation that anything that Biden does is a success because they are just stenographers for the Biden administration.
00:13:19.000 Here's Anthony Fauci overtly contradicting the administration that he now works for.
00:13:25.000 We certainly are not starting from scratch because there is activity going on in the distribution.
00:13:31.000 But if you look at the plan that the president has put forth about the things that he is going to do, namely get community vaccine centers up, get pharmacies more involved, where appropriate, get the Defense Production Act involved, not only perhaps with getting more vaccine, but even the things you need to get a good vaccine program For example, needles and syringes that might be more useful than that.
00:13:57.000 So it's taking what's going on, but amplifying it in a big way.
00:14:01.000 Wait, so it sounds like they're not starting from scratch.
00:14:03.000 Actually, that's exactly what it sounds like.
00:14:05.000 They're not starting from scratch.
00:14:06.000 The media reported ad nauseam yesterday.
00:14:06.000 Doesn't matter.
00:14:09.000 That they were starting from scratch.
00:14:10.000 Because Jeffrey Zients, who's the Obama COVID policy advisor, said this, sorry, the Biden COVID policy advisor, said this to the press.
00:14:10.000 Why?
00:14:18.000 The press immediately just reported it as though it was fact, and then there's Fauci just completely undercutting them.
00:14:22.000 But don't worry, your press, doing an amazing job holding people's feet to the fire.
00:14:26.000 What if I told you that they were also fibbing about their goals?
00:14:29.000 So the Biden administration says, we have big plans here, big plans, 100 million vaccinations within the next 100 days.
00:14:37.000 And people who don't know anything are like, wow, that sounds unbelievable.
00:14:42.000 Unbelievable!
00:14:43.000 You mean a million shots a day?
00:14:45.000 What if I told you that we're already basically giving people a million shots a day?
00:14:49.000 And kind of were when Biden took office.
00:14:51.000 And so he's not fundamentally changing anything.
00:14:53.000 So here's Jen Psaki being super honest and super transparent by telling you that it is an enormous, enormous increase in the number of vaccinations being provided for Joe Biden to provide basically the same number of vaccinations we're already providing on a daily basis.
00:15:05.000 Here's Jen Psaki, super honest, super transparent, amazing stuff here.
00:15:09.000 The Trump administration was given 36 million doses when they were in office for 38 days.
00:15:15.000 They administered a total of about 17 million shots.
00:15:18.000 That's about less than 500,000 shots a day.
00:15:22.000 What we are proposing is to double that.
00:15:24.000 about 1 million shots per day.
00:15:28.000 And we have outlined this goal and objective in coordination and consultation with our health and medical experts.
00:15:35.000 So it is ambitious.
00:15:36.000 It's something that we feel is bold and was called that certainly at the time.
00:15:42.000 Oh, it was called bold at the time.
00:15:43.000 Yeah, by members of your stenographer media.
00:15:45.000 Okay, this is how you lie with stats.
00:15:46.000 Okay, what she's doing there is lying with statistics.
00:15:49.000 Here is how it works.
00:15:50.000 What she says is that the Trump administration was providing about, on average, on average, over the past 40 days, about half a million shots a day.
00:15:59.000 Now, you say to yourself, well, that probably means that they were, like, every day putting out half a million shots, right?
00:16:03.000 No, that is not what that means.
00:16:05.000 It means that they ramped up the vaccine distribution.
00:16:09.000 Okay, you can't take the average and then suggest that that's actually what's happening on a daily basis.
00:16:14.000 That is like saying that Bill Gates, for the first 20 years of his life, earned zero money.
00:16:19.000 And then Bill Gates, over the next 20 years of his life, Let's say that he made $100 million over the next 20 years of his life.
00:16:27.000 That means that over the first 40 years of his life, he averaged half that.
00:16:30.000 That means that when he was 12 years old, he was probably making, you know, like 10 million bucks a year or 5 million bucks a year.
00:16:37.000 No, that is not how that works.
00:16:38.000 When you average numbers, but there's an escalating number that is actually the year-on-year or day-on-day number, what you want to look at in terms of are you ramping it up is the last day before you took office.
00:16:49.000 You don't get to do the, well, you know, on average, here's what it was.
00:16:52.000 That doesn't make any sense at all.
00:16:54.000 It makes zero sense.
00:16:56.000 Okay, but she just throws that out there, like, oh, well, so they were doing half a million, now we're doing a million.
00:17:00.000 We're doubling it.
00:17:00.000 No, you're not doubling it.
00:17:01.000 The day before you took office, there were almost a million shots administered.
00:17:06.000 You're taking office and you're promising to administer a million shots, which means you are escalating it by, like, close to zero.
00:17:12.000 Everybody recognizes this.
00:17:14.000 This is not in dispute.
00:17:15.000 So instead, what you have to do is you have to lie to the press, and the press will dutifully just report that out.
00:17:20.000 In fact, when a reporter asked Biden about this, when a reporter said, by the way, we're already doing like a million vaccinations a day, Biden just snapped at the reporter, because how dare he?
00:17:30.000 I've been told that if you snap at the press, if you get mad at the press, if you treat the press badly, this is a fundamental assault on our most basic institutions.
00:17:38.000 Impeach!
00:17:41.000 How will our press survive?
00:17:43.000 Jim Acosta is under assault!
00:17:45.000 Quick, get Jim into the safe room!
00:17:48.000 Because the reporter asked Biden a good question.
00:17:50.000 Biden didn't want to answer the question, and he got mad at the reporter.
00:17:54.000 So much transparency.
00:17:55.000 It's a new day in Washington, gang.
00:17:57.000 Here's Joe Biden getting mad at a reporter for asking a perfectly obvious question.
00:18:02.000 Mr. President, you said you set the goal of 100 days.
00:18:04.000 Is that high enough?
00:18:06.000 Can you set far higher than basically where the U.S.
00:18:09.000 is right now?
00:18:11.000 When I announced it, you all said it's not possible.
00:18:13.000 Come on, give me a break, man.
00:18:14.000 That's a good start.
00:18:16.000 100 million.
00:18:17.000 Nope.
00:18:18.000 No one said it was not possible when you announced it.
00:18:20.000 Literally zero people who knew anything said it was not possible when you announced it.
00:18:23.000 In fact, virtually everybody who knew anything said when you said 100 million vaccinations in 100 days, they said, uh, shouldn't it be higher than that?
00:18:30.000 Like, that's not ramping anything up.
00:18:32.000 But again, we all have to pretend along.
00:18:34.000 So transparent.
00:18:35.000 So honest.
00:18:37.000 So much media-ing.
00:18:39.000 Every time they ask a tough question, Within the first 48 hours.
00:18:42.000 Every time a tough question is asked, they just dodge it or lie about it.
00:18:45.000 And then the media are like, but they're so honest and they're so transparent and they're so amazing.
00:18:49.000 Oh my God.
00:18:50.000 Just unbelievable.
00:18:51.000 By the way, another example.
00:18:53.000 The very first night, the very first night of the Biden White House, Jen Psaki did a presser.
00:18:59.000 And she was asked about Joe Biden's policy with regard to the Hyde Amendment.
00:19:02.000 The Hyde Amendment is a federal amendment that says that you are not allowed to use federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortion.
00:19:08.000 And she said, we have no position on that, but Joe Biden is a good Catholic.
00:19:11.000 And as we know, Catholics are pro-life.
00:19:13.000 Okay, within 24 hours, Anthony Fauci had announced the return of the Mexico City policy, which uses federal taxpayer dollars in order to sponsor abortion overseas.
00:19:21.000 So, was that dishonest?
00:19:23.000 Was that avoiding the question?
00:19:24.000 No, no, it's Transparency and Honesty Guide to New Day.
00:19:27.000 The adults are back in charge.
00:19:28.000 No, the reality is it's not about the adults being back in charge or any realistic standard of honesty and decency.
00:19:33.000 What this is is that there is a complete simpatico between the journalists and the people they're covering right now.
00:19:38.000 It is just confirmation bias.
00:19:40.000 They like the people they are covering.
00:19:41.000 They didn't used to like the people they are covering.
00:19:42.000 They don't care if the people they're covering right now lie to them and fib to them and put out propaganda talking points.
00:19:48.000 That is fine with them because they like those propaganda talking points.
00:19:51.000 This is not about them holding any consistent standard.
00:19:55.000 This is about them holding a wildly inconsistent standard.
00:19:57.000 It's not.
00:19:59.000 Listen, they would be saying the adults are back in the room if it had been Marco Rubio who was president.
00:20:04.000 It has nothing to do with the adults being back in the room.
00:20:07.000 All this has to do with is they agree with the people who are lying to them, and so they're going to just cover for them.
00:20:12.000 They did this all throughout the Obama administration.
00:20:14.000 Members of the Obama administration overtly admitted to lying to the press, and the press kept licking their feet.
00:20:19.000 It was unbelievable.
00:20:21.000 And now it will just be more of the same.
00:20:23.000 It'll just be more of the same.
00:20:25.000 In a second, I'm gonna get to some more terrible, terrible COVID policy, because there are a couple of policies that are now being trotted out that are pretty amazing.
00:20:32.000 Plus, a story that should receive more media attention, but likely will not.
00:20:38.000 We'll explain in a second.
00:20:39.000 First, let us talk about the reality, which is that this year you've probably been thinking dark thoughts, and that means that you need to think about what happens in case, God forbid, something should happen to you.

00:21:40.000 Policy Genius, when it comes to insurance, it's nice and important to get it right.
00:21:44.000 Okay, so there's another story that has been making the rounds and the media are like, I can't believe this is happening, but who is to blame?
00:21:51.000 So here's the story.
00:21:52.000 Remember how 15,000 American troops were sent to Washington, D.C.
00:21:55.000 to protect against the possibility of another January 6th, and then no one showed up?
00:21:58.000 In fact, all across the country, the only violence that was done was done by Antifa in Portland and Seattle, who were attacking, again, government buildings.
00:22:07.000 Or it didn't happen because Antifa is an ideology.
00:22:08.000 I forget which.
00:22:10.000 I mean, according to Joe Biden, Antifa doesn't exist.
00:22:12.000 Okay, in any case, what happened to the National Guardsmen?
00:22:16.000 According to Politico, thousands of National Guardsmen were allowed back into the Capitol on Thursday night, hours after U.S.
00:22:21.000 Capitol Police officials ordered them to vacate the facility, sending them outdoors or to nearby parking garages after two weeks pulling security duty after the deadly riot on January 6th.
00:22:30.000 One unit, which had been resting in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, was abruptly told to vacate the facility on Thursday, according to one Guardsman.
00:22:36.000 The group was forced to rest in a nearby parking garage without internet reception, with just one electrical outlet and one bathroom with two stalls for 5,000 troops, the person said.
00:22:46.000 Temperatures in Washington were in the low 40s by nightfall.
00:22:49.000 The guardsman said, yesterday, dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines, taking photos, shaking our hands, thanking us for our service.
00:22:55.000 Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of the parking garage.
00:22:59.000 We feel incredibly betrayed.
00:23:00.000 All of the National Guard troops were told to vacate the Capitol and nearby congressional buildings on Thursday, and to set up mobile command centers outside or in nearby hospitals, another guardsman confirmed.
00:23:09.000 They were told to take their rest breaks during 12-hour shifts outside and in parking garages, the person said.
00:23:14.000 Top lawmakers from both parties took to Twitter to decry the decision and call for answers after Politico first reported the news.
00:23:20.000 Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer tweeted, if this is true, it's outrageous.
00:23:23.000 I will get to the bottom of this.
00:23:24.000 Senator Tom Cotton noted the Capitol complex remains closed to members of the public, so there is plenty of room for troops to take a break in them.
00:23:31.000 A guard source confirmed late Thursday all the troops in the parking garages were ordered to return to the Capitol.
00:23:36.000 Brigadier General Jeanine Burkhead, the guard's inauguration task force commander, confirmed in a statement to Politico a little after midnight the troops are out of the garage and now back in the Capitol building, and they will take their breaks in Emancipation Hall going forward.
00:23:47.000 In a statement, Capitol Police spokesperson Eva Malecki said the department recently asked the truce shifts be reduced from 12 hours to eight in order to allow for additional rest hours away from the Capitol complex.
00:23:59.000 It did not explain why guardsmen were forced into parking garages.
00:24:03.000 Now, you'll notice that nowhere in this piece does it explain who exactly is in charge here.
00:24:10.000 Well, let me give you a hint.
00:24:11.000 Who is in charge here?
00:24:12.000 The president of the United States is currently named Joe Biden, not Donald Trump.
00:24:15.000 The Senate Majority Leader is currently named Chuck Schumer, not Mitch McConnell.
00:24:19.000 The House Speaker is named Nancy Pelosi, not Kevin McCarthy.
00:24:22.000 So...
00:24:23.000 Who is to blame?
00:24:24.000 You know what the headlines would be if Trump were still president, don't you?
00:24:27.000 Donald Trump forces, forces troops to sleep in parking garage in 40 degree weather, sharing but one toilet for 5,000 people.
00:24:36.000 You know that would be the headline.
00:24:37.000 But here it's like, oh, how did this happen?
00:24:39.000 How?
00:24:40.000 I don't understand.
00:24:41.000 What could have happened here?
00:24:42.000 Amazing how as soon as something bad happened under the Trump administration, it was like every Republican we see in like a four mile radius is to blame for this.
00:24:50.000 When Democrats are in charge and something bad happens, like, How could such a bad thing happen in America?
00:24:55.000 How?
00:24:56.000 What?
00:24:56.000 Who?
00:24:57.000 I'm not even gonna speculate as to who is in charge.
00:24:59.000 Amazing.
00:25:00.000 By the way, speaking of bad COVID policy, so...
00:25:04.000 My favorite thing is when Democrats claim that they are driven by the science.
00:25:07.000 Okay, so here is D.C.' 's new standard.
00:25:08.000 So, Washington, D.C.
00:25:09.000 has set a new standard for vaccinations.
00:25:10.000 Now, this should be very easy.
00:25:12.000 The standard for vaccinations should be, if you are 65, you get one.
00:25:16.000 Right?
00:25:16.000 We do it by age.
00:25:17.000 That's how you should do it.
00:25:18.000 If you are a doctor who is working routinely with COVID patients, you should probably also get one.
00:25:23.000 We should not be vaccinating people who work in grocery stores or people who are delivering packages at the same rates that we are vaccinating people who are 65 and older.
00:25:30.000 It should be an age-based decision.
00:25:32.000 End of story.
00:25:33.000 So, what is Washington, D.C.
00:25:34.000 doing being driven by the science?
00:25:35.000 Entirely democratic area.
00:25:37.000 How are they actually tranching out the vaccines?
00:25:39.000 According to the Washington Post, the district plans to give priority for coronavirus vaccines to the broadest possible swath of people with pre-existing health conditions.
00:25:47.000 A decision that will make hundreds of thousands eligible for scarce doses of the vaccine and that some public health experts say might not make medical sense.
00:25:54.000 Might not make medical sense?
00:25:55.000 Here's what they're actually proposing.
00:25:56.000 Okay, you ready for this?
00:25:57.000 The plan would offer vaccines to people whose wait and medical history would not qualify them for early access to the vaccine in almost any state in the country.
00:26:05.000 Apparently, D.C.
00:26:07.000 Health Director LaQuandra Nesbitt told members of the D.C.
00:26:09.000 Council last week she decided to open up vaccine access possibly as soon as February to such a large group in the hopes of quickly vaccinating anyone.
00:26:17.000 So what exactly is the cutoff?
00:26:19.000 The cutoff is you just have to testify that you have any pre-existing condition at all, right?
00:26:25.000 You just put it on your form.
00:26:26.000 You just say that you're a smoker or you've had cancer or heart failure or diabetes or Down syndrome.
00:26:32.000 Okay, these are all chronic conditions.
00:26:34.000 Or, or, you have to have a body mass index over 25.
00:26:39.000 Okay, just to be clear, a body mass index over 25 is like everyone.
00:26:43.000 Okay, unless you're in pretty good shape, you do not have a body mass index under 25.
00:26:46.000 Okay, that just means overweight.
00:26:47.000 Overweight is 25.
00:26:48.000 Obesity is 30.
00:26:49.000 I'm in pretty good shape.
00:26:51.000 I work out pretty much every day.
00:26:52.000 My body mass index is like 22.
00:26:55.000 Okay, so the bizarre notion that you're going to tranche out hundreds of thousands of vaccines to anyone who is slightly overweight, as opposed to, you know, the people who are elderly and at risk, total craziness.
00:27:06.000 But of course, the goal here is racial equity above all, right?
00:27:10.000 That is the goal here.
00:27:13.000 Experts like David Kass, a Johns Hopkins cardiology professor, said some of the conditions the district is including have not been proved to put people at higher risk of complications from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
00:27:24.000 In terms of body weight, some recommended prioritizing people with BMIs over 40, rather than anyone whose weight is above a level considered healthy.
00:27:32.000 I mean, BMI over 40 is severe obesity?
00:27:35.000 BMI over 30 is some risk?
00:27:37.000 There's no evidence that BMI of 25 is gonna kill you.
00:27:40.000 Okay, but again, bad policy doesn't matter.
00:27:42.000 All that matters is the wokeness.
00:27:44.000 The wokeness is what matters above all.
00:27:46.000 Okay, well, you may be looking at the state of modern American politics, and you may be saying to yourself, you know what?
00:27:52.000 These media, I hope they finally get the message that they actually need to be watchdogs, right?
00:27:56.000 That was their job, the objective media.
00:27:58.000 They need to be watchdogs.
00:27:58.000 They can't just be lapdogs.
00:27:59.000 They need to be watchdogs, right?
00:28:01.000 And the American people actually get it.
00:28:03.000 There's a poll out from Edelman that shows that the American trust in the media is at an all-time low.
00:28:08.000 As well, it should be.
00:28:08.000 It was shared with Axios.
00:28:10.000 Here's what the poll found.
00:28:12.000 Apparently, the trust in traditional media, 46% of Americans say they trust traditional media.
00:28:18.000 Presumably they are all Democrats.
00:28:20.000 Among Republicans, those numbers are abysmal.
00:28:22.000 Only 18% of Republicans say they believe journalists after the 2020 election, which, I mean, hard to argue with that.
00:28:30.000 Not sure why you would.
00:28:31.000 The vast majority of members of the American public believe that journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead them, And 58% think news organizations are more interested in ideology than facts.
00:28:44.000 57% of Democrats trust the media.
00:28:46.000 Shocker.
00:28:47.000 Shocker.
00:28:47.000 I can't believe it.
00:28:48.000 You mean you trust the media because they tell you exactly what you want to hear all the time?
00:28:51.000 But don't worry, there's no leftist bias in the media.
00:28:56.000 Apparently, Republican trust in traditional media plunged following the 2020 election.
00:29:00.000 But the truth is that that plunge should have happened much earlier.
00:29:04.000 The Republican belief in the veracity of the media, it found a 15-point drop in media trust among Trump supporters.
00:29:11.000 Apparently, about 33% of Republicans used to trust the media.
00:29:15.000 Now it's only about 18%.
00:29:16.000 I'm not sure why anyone trusts the media to simply be objective.
00:29:20.000 They simply are not.
00:29:21.000 They are not objective in any way, shape, or form.
00:29:25.000 And the proof is in the pudding.
00:29:27.000 I mean, every single day I show you clips of members of your esteemed journalistic media who are basically just doing dirty work for the Biden administration or for the Democrats or for the Biden campaign during the campaign.
00:29:38.000 So, for example, here is CNN's Alison Camerota literally asking members of the Biden administration if they will retaliate against news networks if they lie.
00:29:47.000 So here's CNN asking if the Biden administration is going to target Newsmax, OANN, and Fox News.
00:29:52.000 Yeah, definitely.
00:29:53.000 I trust CNN.
00:29:54.000 Absolutely objective people.
00:29:55.000 No interest here.
00:29:56.000 They are just truth tellers.
00:29:58.000 By the way, that is unconstitutional.
00:30:02.000 The Biden administration has no power to involve itself in these particular debates.
00:30:06.000 Here's Alison Camerota pushing it anyway.
00:30:09.000 I heard that as a direct shot at some of the media companies that lied about the election results.
00:30:16.000 We know who they are.
00:30:17.000 I mean, they're right-wing companies.
00:30:19.000 Some are more fringe than others at this point, or more, I guess, extreme than others.
00:30:24.000 And so if they continue to engage in lies, something that he is trying to combat, what is your communication strategy?
00:30:32.000 Will you deny those networks any interviews?
00:30:35.000 I mean, what happens if they Revert to form immediately.
00:30:40.000 So will you punish?
00:30:42.000 Will you revert to form?
00:30:43.000 Will you tell people that you won't interview with them because CNN doesn't like them?
00:30:47.000 Please?
00:30:47.000 Will you do that?
00:30:48.000 I mean, we are the truth tellers here at CNN.
00:30:49.000 Everybody else on the other side, those are not truth tellers at all.
00:30:52.000 CNN is the place you come for your news and also for your Kool-Aid from the left side of the aisle.
00:30:58.000 Okay, so the funniest example of this over the past 24 hours.
00:31:01.000 I thought this was hilarious.
00:31:03.000 So there's a piece.
00:31:04.000 Here's the title of the piece.
00:31:04.000 It's by Margaret Sullivan.
00:31:06.000 Margaret Sullivan is the media columnist for the Washington Post.
00:31:10.000 And she has a piece that is titled, I kid you not, the media can be glad for the Biden White House's return to normalcy, but let's not be lulled.
00:31:17.000 Okay, now if I just read you the title, you would think, presumably, that the piece is going to say to the media, yes, this is more of a return to normalcy, it's not quite as wild and crazy as the Trump years, it's not all about the tweets, but you still have to be watchdogs, right?
00:31:29.000 Wouldn't you think that's what, I mean, that's the title of the piece, right?
00:31:31.000 The media can be glad for the Biden White House's return to normalcy, but let's not be lulled.
00:31:36.000 Wrong!
00:31:38.000 Margaret Sullivan says, let's not be lulled, let's not be lulled into covering them with a harsh glare.
00:31:46.000 Right?
00:31:47.000 I have to read it to you because it is just so indicative of the mindset of the media.
00:31:51.000 The media believe they were too hard on Obama, too hard on Hillary.
00:31:54.000 That's why they got Trump.
00:31:55.000 And the lesson of the Trump years is not that you should be aggressive with the White House in power.
00:31:59.000 The lesson of the Trump years is that you should only be aggressive with people you disagree with politically.
00:32:04.000 That is what Margaret Sullivan, the media columnist for the Washington Post, writes.
00:32:09.000 Here's her take on it.
00:32:10.000 You ready?
00:32:10.000 White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was prepared.
00:32:13.000 She was professional.
00:32:14.000 She was non-combative.
00:32:15.000 And she didn't peddle a whopper of the lie the way Sean Spicer did on day one four years ago with his alternative fact about the supposedly record-breaking size of the inaugural crowd.
00:32:24.000 The first official words by President Biden's spokeswoman included truth and transparency.
00:32:28.000 Rebuilding trust with the American people will be central to our focus, the former State Department spokeswoman told a small group of socially distanced reporters as she promised to return to daily briefings.
00:32:38.000 In fact, Wednesday night's session with reporters, the first of the Biden administration, was so normal, so weirdly normal, that you could be forgiven for thinking you had mistakenly put on an old episode of the West Wing.
00:32:49.000 My favorite thing about that is that she's touting the West Wing as like the way politics should work.
00:32:53.000 It was a fantasy show written by Aaron Sorkin on behalf of Democrats.
00:32:57.000 Yes, I'm sure you do.
00:32:58.000 But that's the way the reality, I wish the reality were just the West Wing.
00:33:00.000 Yes, I'm sure you do.
00:33:02.000 I'm sure you do.
00:33:03.000 The return to norms is wonderfully welcome after the horrors of the past four years.
00:33:07.000 It's like running into a friend you haven't seen in four years, wrote Columbia University journalism professor William Gruskin.
00:33:12.000 Okay, so here's where you think Because here's what she says, it's also potentially dangerous.
00:33:18.000 Okay, now here's where you think it's gonna make the turn.
00:33:19.000 Here's where you think she's gonna say, yes, it's a return to normal, but we can't be lulled into a false sense of security.
00:33:25.000 We still have to hold people in power accountable.
00:33:27.000 Nope, nope, that is not what she is going to say.
00:33:31.000 She's going to say the opposite.
00:33:33.000 Here we go.
00:33:34.000 The national press, battered by four years of abuse by the president and by the incompetence and falsehoods of his spokespeople, is in a precarious position.
00:33:42.000 We run the risk of being seduced by an administration that, in many cases, closely reflects our values.
00:33:48.000 Multiculturalism, a belief in the principles of liberal democracy, a kind of wonky idealism.
00:33:53.000 So she's openly admitting, by the way, that the media and Biden are the same, right?
00:33:56.000 And she says, the commentary from TV broadcasters across the board all day long was at times embarrassingly complimentary.
00:34:01.000 Maybe that's fine for a day or two while everyone takes a few sighs of relief that democracy has survived its stress test.
00:34:06.000 But soon, I'd guess another normal return.
00:34:08.000 The desire to appear combative and to blow things out of proportion to demonstrate toughness.
00:34:13.000 She's chiding the media before they do it with being too combative with Biden after they basically provided him sexual favors on the day of the inauguration.
00:34:23.000 .
00:34:25.000 That's what Margaret Sullivan is doing here.
00:34:26.000 She says, you know what, you guys, we spent the last 48 hours celebrating with Biden and treating Biden with kid gloves.
00:34:33.000 And, you know, we have to be really careful here not to stop treating him with kid gloves.
00:34:38.000 Because journalists pride themselves, says Margaret Sullivan, media columnist for the Washington Post, on being tough and objective, they like to take an adversarial-seeming approach, especially to the party in power or the candidate with whom they most identify.
00:34:50.000 And of course, actually holding power to account is the most important job journalists have.
00:34:54.000 It's what we're here for.
00:34:55.000 But there's a difference between truly holding power to account and grandstanding.
00:34:59.000 It's the latter that gave rise to ridiculous dust-ups like the one over President Barack Obama's wearing of a tan suit, not to mention the vast and shameful overplaying of the Hillary Clinton email scandal during the 2016 campaign.
00:35:10.000 The national media, says Margaret Sullivan, should show toughness, but of a different sort.
00:35:14.000 If they've learned the lessons of the past four years, and I confess I have my doubts, they'll do things differently.
00:35:18.000 They will resist false equivalency.
00:35:21.000 For example, they'll think twice before they put a reality-denying senator like Ted Cruz or Josh Hawley on the air.
00:35:28.000 They will clearly call out lies.
00:35:29.000 They will identify racism or white supremacy by using plain language instead of euphemism.
00:35:35.000 It's just, it's amazing.
00:35:37.000 It's just amazing.
00:35:38.000 So the media have gone into full-blown, full-blown best little whorehouse in Texas mode.
00:35:45.000 And Margaret Sullivan is like, yes, but, but could we add some services on top of that to really make sure that we are doing our job here?
00:35:52.000 You know, the last thing we need is for you to even pretend to do your job.
00:35:55.000 The real problem here is that you're probably going to start going soft on Republicans.
00:35:58.000 That's probably the big problem here.
00:36:00.000 So let's go harder on Republicans and let's not cover any of the things that Biden, I mean, like, do you know how in the bubble you have to be to believe this?
00:36:07.000 These folks have decided beforehand, in preordained fashion, the Biden administration is transparent, wonderful, factual, and the biggest risk is that you will create a false equivalency between people who disagree with Biden and Biden because, of course, we all know on an objective level that Biden is wonderful and amazing and truly spectacular.
00:36:26.000 They're just fanboys.
00:36:27.000 They should just write fanzines.
00:36:29.000 Everything the media write these days, and I think, honestly, since the Obama era, everything that they write is essentially just In Touch magazine about these folks.
00:36:38.000 It's incredible.
00:36:39.000 It's incredible.
00:36:41.000 And meanwhile, I look forward to a return of non-comedy.
00:36:44.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:36:46.000 Remember that time that comedians were funny?
00:36:47.000 Yeah, and me neither.

00:39:45.000 You are listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:39:53.000 Alrighty, so, obviously, we are hoping for a return to comedy at some point in the future.
00:39:57.000 Here's the problem.
00:39:58.000 It really wasn't Trump that killed comedy.
00:40:00.000 It really was Obama who killed comedy.
00:40:02.000 As soon as Barack Obama was elected in 2008 and took office in 2009, the media declared that he was off-limits.
00:40:07.000 Our comedy specialists decided that comedying was over.
00:40:09.000 I mean, you literally couldn't make fun of him.
00:40:10.000 There was nothing funny about Barack Obama.
00:40:13.000 On a purely objective level, that is just not true.
00:40:15.000 Barack Obama was HILARIOUS.
00:40:17.000 He was HILARIOUS.
00:40:18.000 I mean, the man thought that he was just a messianic figure descended from the heavens to teach all of us about what it meant to be the best kind of human.
00:40:26.000 And the media agreed with him.
00:40:27.000 It was really funny.
00:40:28.000 Like, on an objective level, Barack Obama, godlike figure going 0 for 22 on the basketball court?
00:40:32.000 Kind of funny.
00:40:34.000 Barack Obama jetting off in the middle of crisis to go hang out with celebrities?
00:40:38.000 Kind of funny.
00:40:40.000 There was a lot that was funny that was going on during the Obama administration, but not to comedians because they were too busy worshiping and you can't make fun of things that you worship, right?
00:40:47.000 It's very difficult for people to do that.
00:40:49.000 Religious people tend not to mock They're gods, okay?
00:40:53.000 And these folks are religious.
00:40:54.000 Well, then it became, okay, well, we won't actually mock Trump.
00:40:57.000 We're just going to yell at him.
00:40:58.000 They were so angry at Trump that they couldn't even be funny about Trump.
00:41:01.000 It was mostly just, he's a very bad man.
00:41:03.000 It was like a sputtering rage that came from the comedians.
00:41:06.000 Well, now we're going to revert back to the Obama years.
00:41:08.000 Except it's gonna be Joe Biden.
00:41:10.000 So Joe Biden, who is legitimately one of the funniest people to ever be president of the United States, not because he means to be funny, but because he cannot spew four sentences without mixing himself up and walking into a wall.
00:41:21.000 Like, that's funny!
00:41:22.000 Okay, they were able to make fun of Gerald Ford, one of the most athletic presidents in American history, for being kind of doddering.
00:41:27.000 But Joe Biden, who's 78 years old, cannot string together a coherent thought.
00:41:31.000 That's not funny at all.
00:41:32.000 It's not funny at all.
00:41:33.000 In fact, what we need from our comedians most of all is to be the priests of the new woke religion.
00:41:40.000 And that is what they do.
00:41:41.000 So here we have Stephen Colbert, Stephen Colbert explaining.
00:41:45.000 This is what comedians do now.
00:41:46.000 They explain to us how much they cry.
00:41:48.000 Comedy's over, gang.
00:41:50.000 It's dead.
00:41:51.000 It ain't coming back.
00:41:52.000 Not under these conditions.
00:41:53.000 There is no such thing as a comedy routine that exists in the world of wokeness because everything is just too Puritan.
00:42:00.000 Here is Stephen Colbert being hilarious by explaining how much he cried when Joe Biden won the presidency.
00:42:05.000 By the way, Stephen Colbert's life was so rough under Donald Trump.
00:42:07.000 I mean, all he did was leap to the top of the ratings despite being utterly unfunny.
00:42:11.000 And making a bajillion dollars?
00:42:13.000 What a rough life he had under Trump.
00:42:14.000 I mean, every day he was under threat of making more money.
00:42:17.000 It was really, really difficult for Stephen Colbert.
00:42:20.000 But now, Stephen Colbert, he's weeping tears of joy.
00:42:24.000 Weeping tears of joy.
00:42:25.000 Listen, when Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, I didn't weep tears of joy.
00:42:28.000 I laughed my ass off.
00:42:29.000 It was really funny.
00:42:30.000 Okay?
00:42:31.000 There's tape of me doing it.
00:42:33.000 It has several million views of me just laughing hysterically because that's really, really funny.
00:42:37.000 Okay, Stephen Colbert hasn't laughed in several years and it shows.
00:42:41.000 Instead, we must cry along with him.
00:42:43.000 He is, by the way, he's on the cover of like Vanity Fair holding a dove or something this month.
00:42:48.000 Our comedy specialists are no longer in the business of comedy.
00:42:50.000 Here's a non-comedian, an ex-comedian.
00:42:54.000 The inauguration was a joyful occasion.
00:42:56.000 Like I do at most happy things, I cried a lot.
00:42:59.000 It's true.
00:43:03.000 It was extremely emotional.
00:43:05.000 And not entirely in the way that I expected, because I have to tell you, I have zero gloat in me.
00:43:11.000 There is no end zone dance here.
00:43:13.000 What I feel is enormous relief.
00:43:16.000 Watching the inauguration today, I recognize just how worried I've been for my country.
00:43:23.000 Wow.
00:43:24.000 Oh no, he wasn't being funny?
00:43:27.000 I honestly can't tell the difference.
00:43:29.000 I cannot tell the difference in when he is trying to be funny and when he's not trying to be funny.
00:43:32.000 Also, another person who used to be funny but now is just a woke pope, Jimmy Kimmel.
00:43:35.000 He emerged wearing his black non-turtleneck, his long sleeve black shirt here, to explain to all of us that, you know, it's like a magical, magical day.
00:43:48.000 Now this is actually supposed to be a funny line, but I'm wondering how, like where is the, where, how?
00:43:53.000 Okay, here's Jimmy Kimmel, explain the humor.
00:43:56.000 Joseph Rapunzel Biden is our 46th president.
00:44:01.000 It feels like, I have to imagine this is what it feels like when the oncologist calls and tells you the tumor is benign.
00:44:07.000 You know, I remember going back to the day Trump was inaugurated, such a terrible day, and wondering, can our country even survive four years of this?
00:44:17.000 And now we know the answer.
00:44:19.000 Not really.
00:44:20.000 Just barely.
00:44:21.000 But we made it.
00:44:22.000 Mar-a-Lardo left town bright and early this morning.
00:44:25.000 So, oh my god, wow.
00:44:27.000 The quality of that writing.
00:44:29.000 I mean, those are the kind of jokes that are only surpassed by the jokes that you find on the handle of the Popsicle stick.
00:44:37.000 That's pretty much it.
00:44:39.000 Well done.
00:44:40.000 I will say that the last 12 years have killed comedy, they have killed objective journalism, There's not a lot left in terms of our institutions and our fun, and everything seems like sort of a bland gray going on from here, does it not?
00:44:54.000 It is just boredom and annoyance stamping on the American face forever.
00:45:00.000 That is the future of the country.
00:45:02.000 Oh yeah, and also bad policy.
00:45:04.000 So Ezra Klein has now moved over to the New York Times after turning Vox into a place that ostracizes everybody of dissenting views so bad that Matthew Iglesias had to leave and found his own substack.
00:45:15.000 Now Ezra Klein has been rewarded with a slot over at the New York Times where he has a podcast and also he has an opinion piece because the New York Times, like, no one Who's voted for Trump will ever be allowed to write for the New York Times.
00:45:27.000 Like ever, ever, ever again.
00:45:28.000 It's not going to happen.
00:45:29.000 The most right-wing person at the New York Times right now is Ross Douthat.
00:45:33.000 And that's because he's sort of iconoclastic and because he is not super Trumpy, but he's also kind of in favor of... I like Ross's column, but Ross is not easy to pin down in sort of traditional conservative ways.
00:45:47.000 The other columnists are, like the most right-wing columnist after that is Brett Stevens, who hates Trump with a fiery passion of a thousand suns, right?
00:45:54.000 So you've got Ezra Klein over at the New York Times.
00:45:56.000 Here is his pitch for what Democrats should do next.
00:45:58.000 Remember, this is the era of unity.
00:46:00.000 It's the time of good feelings, right?
00:46:01.000 So Ezra Klein's pitch is, let's kill the filibuster and just ram through a bunch of crap.
00:46:05.000 Let's do it.
00:46:06.000 Let's do it.
00:46:08.000 Ezra Klein says that what we need is we need a massive spending bill.
00:46:13.000 We need a $1.9 trillion rescue plan that Biden is pushing.
00:46:16.000 We need a For the People Act, which is a wild rewriting of how voting is done in the United States.
00:46:24.000 We need a revision of immigration, but, says Ezra Klein, none of these bills will pass a Senate in which the filibuster forces 60 vote majorities on routine legislation.
00:46:32.000 That clarifies the real question Democrats face.
00:46:34.000 They have plenty of ideas that could improve people's lives and strengthen democracy, but they have repeatedly proven themselves more committed to preserving the status quo of the political system than fulfilling their promises to voters.
00:46:43.000 Wait, hold up a second.
00:46:44.000 Let me just read that, let me read that sentence one more time.
00:46:47.000 Because if you think that it's just authoritarians on the right who are the threat, let me read that sentence to you one more time.
00:46:52.000 Remember, we were told that the threat of authoritarians is people who care more about outcome than they do about the norms.
00:46:57.000 Care more about outcome than they do about the institutions of our democracy, right?
00:47:00.000 That was the entire pitch.
00:47:01.000 Here is Ezra Klein in the pages of the New York Times.
00:47:03.000 Remember, well-intentioned, good-hearted, liberal Ezra Klein.
00:47:07.000 Here it is.
00:47:07.000 I'm gonna read it slowly so you understand what he's saying.
00:47:10.000 Democrats have repeatedly proven themselves more committed to preserving the status quo of the political system than fulfilling their promises to voters.
00:47:20.000 They have preferred the false piece of decorum to the true progress of democracy.
00:47:25.000 There it is.
00:47:25.000 Our institutions must be raised and Democrats must push forward all the things Ezra Klein likes.
00:47:30.000 Otherwise, you know, they might lose elections and we wouldn't want that to happen.
00:47:33.000 If they choose that path again, they will lose their majority in 2022 and they will deserve it.
00:47:37.000 Break all of the institutions of democracy in order to save democracy, guys.
00:47:41.000 I mean, where have I heard that before?
00:47:42.000 Where have I heard that before?
00:47:43.000 Oh yeah, from every authoritarian ever.
00:47:45.000 All we have to do is just overrun all the institutions and we can do all the things you want us to do.
00:47:49.000 Very, very exciting stuff.
00:47:51.000 That perspective is how we got to this idiotic form of government that we currently experience, in which basically all that government is, is Congress as a vestigial organ that occasionally passes omnibus packages worth trillions of dollars, and mostly government is just presidents ping-ponging back and forth executive orders.
00:48:08.000 Obama does a bunch of executive orders, then Trump undoes the executive orders, then Biden redoes the executive orders, then whoever comes next undoes those executive orders.
00:48:16.000 But Ezra Klein wants to break the wheel of history.
00:48:18.000 The way we're going to break the wheel is not by returning power to the legislature in its current form and minimizing the power of the executive.
00:48:24.000 Instead, what it's going to be is we're going to kill the filibuster.
00:48:26.000 We're going to ram through things on a bare majority basis.
00:48:29.000 And then everybody's going to be better.
00:48:30.000 We'll maximize power in the federal government.
00:48:32.000 Probably that will bring everybody together.
00:48:35.000 Oh, goody gumdrops.
00:48:36.000 Yes, the era of unity has begun.
00:48:38.000 You feeling unified?
00:48:39.000 Are ya?
00:48:40.000 Yeah, didn't think so.
00:48:41.000 Okay, we'll be back here later today with one additional hour of The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:48:45.000 In the meantime, go check out The Michael Knowles Show.
00:48:47.000 That is available right now.
00:48:48.000 Apparently, a Republican congressperson has filed articles of impeachment against Biden on the first day in office.
00:48:53.000 Michael will tell you all about it on today's show.
00:48:56.000 In the meantime, have a great weekend.
