00:00:00.000 President Biden gives his inaugural address, Biden unleashes his early policy, and the media realize they won't have Donald Trump to kick around anymore.
00:00:06.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:07.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:09.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:19.000 Join them at expressvpn.com slash Ben.
00:00:22.000 Well, Inauguration Day.
00:00:23.000 What an auspicious day for the country because it's the dawn of a new era.
00:00:27.000 It's a magical new time.
00:00:29.000 The celebration has begun.
00:00:31.000 And as I've noted repeatedly, I am not a big fan of pomp and circumstance in American government.
00:00:35.000 I really think that the government is supposed to be sort of like your plumber.
00:00:37.000 You call them when you need them, otherwise they should stay out of your house.
00:00:40.000 This idea that we're supposed to have these sort of worshipful giant ceremonies?
00:00:43.000 Not a fan.
00:00:44.000 I have not been a fan for a long time.
00:00:46.000 I used to say this about the State of the Union Address, whether it was Obama or whether it was Trump.
00:00:49.000 Inauguration Day is another one of those, and people treat it as though it's like this massive, wonderful... Okay, fine.
00:00:55.000 You wanna do that?
00:00:56.000 I'm not so into it.
00:00:56.000 That's fine.
00:00:58.000 To each his own.
00:00:59.000 Well, the inauguration yesterday was supposed to be a very special inauguration, a magical inauguration, because the specter of Orange Man Bad was finally gone and a new day was dawning.
00:01:09.000 The sun was rising, speckling the sky with colors of gold and pink.
00:01:14.000 It was an incredible, incredible, magical moment.
00:01:18.000 We're gonna get to Joe Biden's inaugural address in just one second.
00:01:22.000 Let it just be noted that all of the talk that we've had about unity over the past several months from Joe Biden, it is very unclear whether by unity Joe Biden means that you should be respected in your opinion, and we should have open and honest discussions, and we should leave each other alone, or whether by unity Joe Biden means I want you to obey me.
00:01:41.000 And if you don't obey me, I will use the federal government to make you obey me.
00:01:44.000 So unity can be had in one of two ways.
00:01:47.000 And he's been rather vague about what he means by unity.
00:01:50.000 So on today's show, we're going to explore what Joe Biden means by unity, what the left means by unity, because the real battle that Joe Biden is going to have to fight if he wishes to be a great president for all Americans, as he says he does, is not a battle against the right.
00:02:02.000 It's going to be a battle against the left.
00:02:03.000 It's going to be a battle against his own flank.
00:02:05.000 Which is demanding vengeance on people who disagree, censorship of people who disagree, control of all of the institutions of power in the United States in order to make people who disagree agree.
00:02:15.000 It will be unity through purge.
00:02:18.000 If they have their way.
00:02:19.000 It'll be up to Joe Biden to stand up to that.
00:02:21.000 Whether he does or not, that remains an open question.
00:02:23.000 I don't think it's going to be open for very long.
00:02:25.000 Okay, so yesterday featured the swearing in of Joe Biden.
00:02:28.000 Oddly enough, he was actually sworn in.
00:02:30.000 It was a coup.
00:02:31.000 He was sworn in actually 12 minutes early.
00:02:33.000 So it took effect at noon.
00:02:34.000 He was sworn in at like 1148, which is kind of weird.
00:02:37.000 Anyway, here was Joe Biden being sworn in as President of the United States yesterday by Chief Justice John Roberts.
00:02:43.000 So a Democrat swearing in a Democrat.
00:02:47.000 Please raise your right hand and repeat after me.
00:02:51.000 I, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., do solemnly swear.
00:02:54.000 I, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., do solemnly swear.
00:02:58.000 That I will faithfully execute.
00:03:00.000 That I will faithfully execute.
00:03:02.000 The office of President of the United States.
00:03:04.000 Office of President of the United States.
00:03:07.000 And will to the best of my ability.
00:03:09.000 Well, for the best of my ability.
00:03:11.000 Preserve, protect, and defend.
00:03:13.000 Preserve, protect, and defend.
00:03:15.000 The Constitution of the United States.
00:03:17.000 The Constitution of the United States.
00:03:19.000 So help you God?
00:03:20.000 So help me God.
00:03:21.000 Congratulations, Mr. President.
00:03:23.000 And we, like all Americans, pray for the success of the president when he protects our rights and for his failure when he does not protect our rights and in fact invades those rights.
00:03:31.000 That should be the same standard for all presidents, Republican or Democrat.
00:03:34.000 It is pretty incredible on a personal level to see a man who's been striving for the presidency since he was 30 years old finally achieve the presidency at the age of 172.
00:03:41.000 So that is an amazing accomplishment.
00:03:46.000 We have now learned over the past several decades that pretty much anybody can be president so long as they stick around in politics long enough.
00:03:52.000 Joe Biden is older than every ex-president who attended his inauguration.
00:03:56.000 Every single one.
00:03:58.000 He is older than Bill Clinton.
00:03:58.000 Right.
00:03:59.000 He's older than George W. Bush.
00:04:01.000 He's significantly older than Barack Obama.
00:04:03.000 So there's that.
00:04:04.000 Kamala Harris was also sworn in.
00:04:06.000 And I will say this was kind of hilarious.
00:04:08.000 So Sonia Sotomayor, who is the Supreme Court Justice, very much on the left, she swears in Kamala Harris and proceeds to botch her name. 1.00
00:04:15.000 Now, I was informed by our mainstream media that if you botch Kamala Harris's name, if you call her Kamala as opposed to Kamala, that is an element of racism.
00:04:23.000 They said this about Tucker Carlson.
00:04:25.000 They kept saying Kamala. 0.82
00:04:25.000 I guess Sonia Sotomayor is racist now, so here's a racist swearing in Kamala Harris. 0.82
00:04:31.000 I, Kamala Devi Harris, do solemnly swear.
00:04:35.000 I, Kamala Devi Harris, do solemnly swear.
00:04:38.000 That I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
00:04:42.000 That I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
00:04:46.000 Against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
00:04:51.000 All righty, so that's enough of that.
00:04:52.000 Anyway, the celebrities were back in force, and that's going to be one of the more obnoxious aspects of the Biden administration.
00:04:57.000 Honestly, it was kind of a comfort to me that there was not a lot of celebrity, outside celebrity, involved in the Trump administration.
00:05:02.000 So Trump himself was a celebrity, obviously.
00:05:05.000 A very large-scale celebrity entering the Oval Office.
00:05:07.000 But Hollywood hated him.
00:05:09.000 Tinseltown hated him.
00:05:10.000 The music industry hated him.
00:05:12.000 Every time he would play a song at his rally, the people who made the song would be like, we don't want him using that song anymore.
00:05:16.000 And Honestly, I kind of found it delightful that the celebrities were not occupying the centers of power.
00:05:21.000 Now we're going to get the merger between Hollywood and D.C.
00:05:23.000 that we had during the Obama years.
00:05:25.000 It feels forced and awkward during the Biden administration because Obama was himself a celebrity creation.
00:05:31.000 He had no extensive legislative record.
00:05:33.000 He was not a well-known politician when he entered office.
00:05:35.000 He was more of a celebrity than he was a politician, in truth.
00:05:38.000 I mean, he was almost a messianic figure to many people on the left.
00:05:41.000 Joe Biden is none of those things. 0.97
00:05:42.000 He's just a career politician, kind of corrupt, old career politician.
00:05:46.000 And so having Hollywood kind of rush back in full force is pretty astonishing.
00:05:51.000 So Lady Gaga showed up to sing the national anthem, dressed as a member of the cast from the Hunger Games.
00:05:57.000 I'm not sure why she was doing this.
00:05:58.000 Also, quick note, the Betsy Ross flag is okay again. 0.99
00:06:01.000 Remember when we had a whole controversy like two years ago because Colin Kaepernick, that moron, suggested the Betsy Ross flag was racist? 0.98
00:06:07.000 Even though it had flown at the Barack Obama inauguration. 0.99
00:06:09.000 Well, it was flying again yesterday at the inauguration.
00:06:11.000 I guess we don't have to worry about that.
00:06:12.000 Also, the National Anthem.
00:06:14.000 So controversial that people should kneel for it.
00:06:15.000 I guess we don't have to kneel for the National Anthem anymore, so that's exciting stuff.
00:06:18.000 So here was Lady Gaga directly from Panem singing the national anthem. 0.80
00:06:23.000 What is she wearing?
00:06:33.000 That's supposed to be a dove, but...

00:06:37.000 There's a nice rendition of the national anthem.
00:06:47.000 I was not as enamored with J-Lo singing, this land is your land, which is indeed a commie song. 0.93
00:06:52.000 So she sang, this land is your land.
00:06:54.000 We can stop that.
00:06:55.000 J-Lo sang, this land is your land as well as America the beautiful.
00:06:58.000 And in the middle, for no apparent reason, she just threw in, let's get loud. 0.56

00:07:02.000 Here's JLo doing that.
00:07:04.000 ♪ Sweet to JLo ♪ ♪ Let's get it done ♪ So frankly, I'm now disappointed that Lady Gaga did not throw in a verse from Telephone into the middle of the national anthem. 0.93

00:07:34.000 We may as well have had it.
00:07:36.000 And the second we're gonna get to, Joe Biden's actual inaugural address, which people are praising to the sky.
00:07:40.000 It's the greatest speech anyone has given in American history, with the possible exception of the Gettysburg Address.
00:07:46.000 Unbelievable oratory.
00:07:48.000 Sure, it kind of sounded like mashed potatoes, There's a bunch of warmed over pablum, but it was a magical moment, a magical magic.
00:07:55.000 The entire media could take a deep breath and go on vacation to Tahiti, just drink their cocktails and get their massages.
00:08:02.000 And that's going to be the next four years.
00:08:04.000 So if you've enjoyed the gaslighting of the Obama years, welcome back.
00:08:06.000 We're going to do it all over again.

00:08:10.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you need a VPN.
00:08:13.000 I've been talking about ExpressVPN on this show for months.

00:09:16.000 Okay, so all of that brings us to the magical moment when Joe Biden gets up and he gives the inaugural address.
00:09:21.000 And of course, what he said was fairly wrote, but all of it was against the backdrop of And so because the specter of Trump has been built up to such an extraordinary proportion, because Trump was supposed to be this gigantic threat to democracy, and because of January 6th, which actually was an insurrection attempt, A failed, ridiculous insurrection attempt, but an insurrection attempt nonetheless.
00:09:45.000 This came against a backdrop of ugliness and it made the speech seem a little bit different than it normally would have felt without that as backdrop.
00:09:51.000 So here was Joe Biden talking about this being Democracy's Day.
00:09:56.000 This is Democracy's Day.
00:09:59.000 A day of history and hope.
00:10:02.000 Of renewal and resolve.
00:10:04.000 Through a crucible for the ages, America has been tested anew.
00:10:09.000 And America has risen to the challenge.
00:10:12.000 Today, we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate, but of a cause.
00:10:18.000 The cause of democracy.
00:10:21.000 The people, the will of the people, has been heard.
00:10:26.000 And the will of the people has been heeded.
00:10:29.000 We've learned again that democracy is precious.
00:10:34.000 Democracy is fragile.
00:10:36.000 At this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed.
00:10:40.000 Okay, well, actually, democracy prevailed before the inauguration.
00:10:43.000 Democracy prevailed when the Electoral College did its work.
00:10:45.000 Democracy prevailed when the states certified their votes.
00:10:47.000 Democracy prevailed when Vice President Mike Pence did his duty under the Constitution of the United States, and Senator Mitch McConnell did his duty under the Constitution of the United States.
00:10:56.000 As far as the fragility of democracy, there are a couple of ways in which democracy is fragile, and they don't all come from the right-wing authoritarians who decided to storm the Capitol building.
00:11:05.000 The threat to democracy that is inherent in the invasion of your individual rights, that is very much on the table.
00:11:11.000 The militarization of all of the major institutions in American society against people who dissent, that is very much on the table.
00:11:18.000 So if you think that democracy has prevailed and will prevail forevermore, let me just...
00:11:23.000 Note here that the authoritarians are very much in control of a lot of institutions in our society.
00:11:29.000 In fact, I will say that if you are worried about the threat to individual rights, you should be worried pretty deeply about the backlash to January 6th.
00:11:36.000 You can think that January 6th was incredibly evil, that the act of evil that was perpetrated on January 6th was disastrous.
00:11:42.000 I think it was, obviously.
00:11:44.000 You can also say that the backlash, which has involved the attempt to de-platform and to dismiss and to investigate people who are not involved, to lump in everybody together, to suggest that everybody on the right was like the Capitol rioters or incited the Capitol riots, and therefore we need to crack down on all of that. 0.91
00:12:00.000 That is indeed an extraordinarily large threat to democracy and a longer-lasting threat to democracy than a bunch of moronic criminal yahoos going into the Capitol building and doing property damage and threatening life. 1.00
00:12:14.000 Right, so no, the threat to democracy is certainly not over. 0.97
00:12:18.000 And in fact, may be accelerating, as we'll get to in a second.
00:12:20.000 Okay, so Joe Biden then suggests that he is going to confront crises that are facing the country.
00:12:27.000 The way he defines crisis, every politician has to have a crisis.
00:12:29.000 Because if you have a crisis, then you can suggest some sort of outside solution.
00:12:33.000 It's the crisis that gives you power if you're a politician.
00:12:35.000 If you're a politician and you walk into office and you say, you know what?
00:12:37.000 Things are kind of okay.
00:12:38.000 Everybody goes, okay, leave us alone then.
00:12:40.000 But if you can name a crisis, then you can take extraordinary, powerful action against that crisis.
00:12:46.000 So how you define the crisis is quite important to how you define the solution to that crisis and what kind of powers you believe you need in order to solve that crisis.
00:12:53.000 So here was Joe Biden defining the crises that face the nation.
00:12:57.000 We'll press forward with speed and urgency, for we have much to do in this winter of peril and significant possibilities.
00:13:07.000 Much to repair, much to restore, much to heal, much to build, and much to gain.
00:13:13.000 A cry for racial justice, some 400 years in the making, moves us.
00:13:19.000 The dream of justice for all will be deferred no longer.
00:13:23.000 A cry for survival comes from the planet itself.
00:13:28.000 Okay, so let's talk about the crises he's mentioning here.
00:13:30.000 any more clear and now arise a political extremism, white supremacy, domestic terrorism that we must confront and we will defeat.
00:13:41.000 Okay, so let's talk about the crises he's mentioning here.
00:13:43.000 So he started off with a couple of crises that we kind of skipped over here because they are real crises and uncontroversial, obviously.
00:13:49.000 COVID-19 and the economy, which has been largely shut down.
00:13:53.000 And that will require action, obviously.
00:13:55.000 Now, we'll get to his COVID-19 action, which is basically lackluster.
00:13:58.000 He has no plans to really elevate the vaccine distribution system from what it is, at least not very much.
00:14:03.000 OK, but then he has a few other crises he talks about.
00:14:06.000 He says the cry for racial justice some 400 years in the making moves us.
00:14:10.000 OK, what does he mean by that?
00:14:12.000 Official discrimination in law was made illegal in the 1960s.
00:14:16.000 Private discrimination was made illegal in the 1960s.
00:14:19.000 It's been two generations since the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
00:14:25.000 So what is he talking about exactly?
00:14:27.000 The cry for racial justice.
00:14:28.000 What is the racial justice he's calling for?
00:14:29.000 The answer, of course, is that he is calling for a new government-run regime that sees any inequality as inequity and sees any inequality as systemic in nature.
00:14:40.000 That if black people earn less than white people, that is definitely attributable to a system, and that means that the system of the United States must be changed and rights must be violated. 0.93
00:14:50.000 Individual rights must be violated. 0.99
00:14:51.000 Your economic rights, your freedom of association rights, your contractual rights, all of those have to be violated by the federal government.
00:14:57.000 Right, that is his crisis.
00:14:59.000 Okay, so you might have looked at the United States, and you might have said, wow, it looks as though black Americans are earning more than they ever have, or at least were up until the pandemic. 0.96
00:15:07.000 You might say that we now have a system that bars discrimination.
00:15:11.000 But according to Joe Biden, the system requires fundamental change, and so he has to pose the system as a crisis, right?
00:15:16.000 The system is the crisis, in Joe Biden's view.
00:15:19.000 Then he talks about the crisis of climate change.
00:15:21.000 The planet itself crying out.
00:15:22.000 No, the planet itself is not crying out.
00:15:24.000 The planet doesn't care about you.
00:15:25.000 The planet doesn't care about me.
00:15:26.000 Just the planet, that's it.
00:15:27.000 I mean, it's pretty great.
00:15:29.000 I'm a fan, but let's be real about this.
00:15:31.000 If the planet warms, the planet ain't gonna care because it is not sentient.
00:15:34.000 Okay, the question is how we are going to deal with it, and when you declare that climate change is a crisis, this provides you with the impetus to be able to basically do whatever you want, no matter how bad the policy is.
00:15:44.000 One of the amazing things is when you talk to people who are left-wing, Behind closed doors on climate change, they will fully acknowledge that an enormous amount of climate change is already baked into the cake, that the best that we can do right now is adaptation, that mitigation is not going to be the chief mechanism whereby human beings deal with climate change.
00:15:59.000 But when they go out in public, then it's like, we should all stop flying planes.
00:16:03.000 We should all stop using cars.
00:16:04.000 It's like none of that is effective.
00:16:07.000 It really is not.
00:16:08.000 And then finally, he suggests that he is going to fight the rise in political extremism, white supremacy, and domestic terrorism.
00:16:15.000 We're going to confront it, and we're going to defeat it.
00:16:16.000 And now, on the surface, this sounds utterly uncontroversial.
00:16:20.000 Who's a white supremacist? 0.99
00:16:21.000 Who likes those a**holes? 1.00
00:16:23.000 Who likes those jackasses? 1.00
00:16:24.000 No one. 1.00
00:16:26.000 Okay, the white supremacists. 0.98
00:16:27.000 No one likes them. 1.00
00:16:28.000 They are horrible, horrible people. 1.00
00:16:29.000 Okay, who likes domestic terrorists? 1.00
00:16:31.000 No one.
00:16:32.000 They are involved in criminal activity.
00:16:32.000 Go ahead and prosecute them.
00:16:34.000 Political extremists.
00:16:36.000 Now, here's where we start to get a little dicey. 0.98
00:16:38.000 Are we talking here about folks who are, you know, conspiracy theorists who believe dumb stuff? 0.51
00:16:42.000 Even if they do, if it's protected by the First Amendment.
00:16:44.000 But here is the thing.
00:16:45.000 When Joe Biden says white supremacy, he doesn't actually mean members of the KKK.
00:16:50.000 He doesn't actually mean members of white supremacist groups.
00:16:53.000 He means broadly what the left has been claiming white supremacy means, which is any element of conservatism is white supremacy.
00:17:00.000 If you voted for Trump, it's because of white supremacy.
00:17:02.000 If you believe that the government should not be a fundamental part of your life, it's because of white supremacy. 0.87
00:17:07.000 We've had full on displays.
00:17:09.000 At the National Museum of African American History that suggests that white supremacy is the reason for people believing in the meritocracy.
00:17:17.000 We have colleges teaching people that white supremacy is saying things like I am colorblind and judge people on their individual merit.
00:17:23.000 White supremacy is anything and everything that opposes the left's agenda according to the left, right?
00:17:27.000 That's why they've been using the term white supremacy because they completely ran out of steam with the term racist.
00:17:32.000 It was thrown around so much that it lost all meaning.
00:17:34.000 So now they've moved over into white supremacy.
00:17:36.000 Now, normally what white supremacy means is that you believe, as the term would suggest, that white people are superior to other people, right? 0.89
00:17:42.000 They are supreme white supremacy. 1.00
00:17:44.000 Okay, but not a lot of Americans actually believe that because it's dumb and it's ridiculous. 1.00
00:17:48.000 So instead, white supremacy has been expanded to include virtually everyone you don't like. 1.00
00:17:53.000 Everyone is a white supremacist.
00:17:55.000 This is where things start to get really dicey.
00:17:57.000 It's why the definitions of words matter.
00:18:00.000 Tucker Carlson noted this on his show last night.
00:18:02.000 He's exactly right.
00:18:03.000 This is not a matter of semantics.
00:18:05.000 How you fill in the vessel that is defined as white supremacy is going to define whether we remain a country or not.
00:18:11.000 Because if you're just saying we are going to keep an eye on and monitor people who actually believe in a white ethnostate, then first of all, there's First Amendment protections for them, but at least you're targeting the right ideology and the right people. 0.67
00:18:24.000 If, however, Your idea of white supremacy is disagrees with Joe Biden or Barack Obama?
00:18:30.000 Then we have a bit of a problem.
00:18:31.000 And here's the thing.
00:18:32.000 I think it's pretty clear which way the left is moving on this.
00:18:34.000 I'll give you an example in just one second.
00:18:37.000 Okay, a personal example in just one second.
00:18:39.000 First, let us talk about your need for life insurance.

00:19:28.000 You could say 50% or more by comparing, quotes, start the new year with one less thing, and to worry about policy genius.
00:19:34.000 When it comes to insurance, it's nice and extraordinarily important to get it right.
00:19:37.000 Make sure your family is protected in case, God forbid, something happens to you.
00:19:40.000 Head on over to policygenius.com.
00:19:41.000 You could say 50% or more by comparing, quotes, policygenius.com.
00:19:45.000 Okay, so here is an example of what the left means when they say white supremacy.
00:19:49.000 They don't actually mean white supremacy.
00:19:50.000 They just mean you disagree.
00:19:52.000 This is why when Joe Biden says he's gonna target white supremacy and the rise of white supremacy, Unless he's very clear that what he means by the rise of white supremacy is the rise of actual Nazi groups.
00:20:02.000 The rise of the KKK.
00:20:03.000 Right?
00:20:03.000 The kind of people... The FBI arrested a white supremacist for planning to murder me and my family not a couple of years ago, right?
00:20:09.000 Not a fan. 0.99
00:20:10.000 Terrible, terrible people.
00:20:11.000 But I don't think that's what the left means.
00:20:13.000 Here's the evidence.
00:20:14.000 This is not what they mean.
00:20:15.000 So Karen Atia, over at the Washington Post, who is a truly egregiously bad columnist. 1.00
00:20:20.000 Every single column is basically the same and it's all about how America is racist and evil and bigoted and all the rest, right?
00:20:26.000 So she has a piece today.
00:20:27.000 It is titled, The Media Had a Role to Play in the Rise of Trump.
00:20:30.000 It's Time to Hold Ourselves Accountable.
00:20:33.000 She says, in his inaugural address, Biden spoke about a rise of political extremism, white supremacy, domestic terrorism that we must confront and we will defeat.
00:20:40.000 The laudable frankness about the threat of white supremacy surprised me, but I wish I could share his confidence about confronting and defeating it.
00:20:47.000 She says, since the Capitol siege of January 6th, the federal and local officials have been scrambling to fortify Washington and its institutions against the threat of white supremacy and violence, but one national institution remains painfully vulnerable, the mainstream media.
00:20:59.000 The breaches to our fourth estate came long before January 6th, of course.
00:21:02.000 From the moment Trump entered the 2016 race, endless oxygen was given to his racism and lies.
00:21:07.000 White supremacists were deemed worthy of profiles, noting their haircuts and wardrobes, or allowed NPR airtime to rank the intelligence of the races.
00:21:14.000 The breaches continued as ex-Trump officials were allowed to profit from distorting the truth to the American people through TV analyst spots, book deals, and Harvard fellowships.
00:21:22.000 So she's saying that Elise Stefanik, the Republican congresswoman from New York, is a white supremacist.
00:21:27.000 And if you had a TV analyst spot, after having worked in the Trump administration, that was white supremacy. 0.66
00:21:31.000 If you had a book deal, Josh Hawley is a white supremacist.
00:21:35.000 Our media ushered all this through the door under the aegis of balance and presenting both sides, says Karen Atia of the Washington Post, as if racism and white supremacy were theoretical ideas to be debated, not life-threatening forces to be defeated.
00:21:46.000 Never would I have imagined that I would say Biden's stance on white supremacy is more progressive than the media's.
00:21:50.000 But here we are.
00:21:52.000 It took white blood being spilled and elite lawmakers being threatened for other sectors to confront the need to forcefully guard against extremism.
00:21:59.000 In the wake of the Capitol insurrection, which left five dead, corporations pulled support from GOP politicians who supported the assault.
00:22:04.000 Okay, no GOP politicians supported the assault.
00:22:08.000 Zero.
00:22:08.000 You can't name them.
00:22:10.000 Seriously.
00:22:11.000 If you can name them, they should be prosecuted.
00:22:14.000 Because that is a crime.
00:22:16.000 Several capital officials resigned.
00:22:18.000 Twitter kicked Trump off its platform.
00:22:20.000 Apple and Google removed Parler, which has increasingly become a haven for extremism, from their app stores.
00:22:24.000 But, says Karanati, here's where it gets really good, the media still seems unwilling or unable to reform itself.
00:22:30.000 There have been no major efforts as an industry to systemically, to systematically examine the role we played in America's journey to the brink.
00:22:37.000 Just this week, the New York Times devoted a podcast episode to the feelings of Trump supporters.
00:22:41.000 See, if you actually ask about what Trump supporters are feeling, you're devoting time to white supremacy.
00:22:47.000 Barely a week after the siege, Politico came under fire for allowing right-wing personality Ben Shapiro to guest-write its popular playbook newsletter, despite his history of racist and Islamophobic statements.
00:22:56.000 Politico editors defended platforming Shapiro by putting on the rusty armor of both-sides-ism, noting they had published MSNBC's Chris Hayes as a voice from the left.
00:23:04.000 Politico editor Matt Kaminsky also said mischief-making has always been a part of Politico's secret sauce.
00:23:09.000 After the past four years, it was startling to see a comment so in the spirit of CBS chairman Leslie Moonves' mercenary 2016 assessment of Trump's campaign that it may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS.
00:23:19.000 Has so little been learned?
00:23:21.000 Media coddling of those who attack racial and religious minorities is not mischief-making.
00:23:24.000 It is willful moral malpractice.
00:23:27.000 I'm reminded that in this country, white people once gathered to watch the public lynching of black people and even made souvenir postcards of the event.
00:23:34.000 I'm reminded that in America, white racism against minorities is titillating, not disqualifying, because it is profitable.
00:23:39.000 And that is why I worry America will find itself in this place again.
00:23:45.000 So this means that we need to push uncompromising anti-racism.
00:23:49.000 We need to push everybody out of the media who we don't like.
00:23:52.000 I mean, this is what she is saying.
00:23:53.000 She literally is saying that because Politico had me write the playbook, because Politico, a political insider website, had me write the not particularly well-trafficked playbook, this was white supremacy.
00:24:06.000 Me.
00:24:07.000 Literally the number one target of white supremacists in 2016.
00:24:11.000 If you print a column by me, you're now complicit in white supremacy.
00:24:14.000 So let me just say, I have very little trust that the left's definition of white supremacy is limited to actual white supremacists.
00:24:22.000 By the way, it's not just Karen Attia.
00:24:24.000 This is a very commonly held perspective on the left.
00:24:26.000 Everything you don't like is the outgrowth of white supremacy.
00:24:30.000 And we've had people suggest the national anthem is a white supremacist anthem.
00:24:33.000 We have had people suggest the American flag stands for white supremacy.
00:24:37.000 We've had people suggest over and over and over again that if you voted for Trump, you, in fact, are in favor of white supremacy.
00:24:44.000 And if you think that the levers of government are not going to be turned against everyday Americans, let me present to you the actual criminal, John Brennan, who lied when he was head of the CIA.
00:24:53.000 He lied to Congress about monitoring their communications.
00:24:56.000 Here he was yesterday explaining that intelligence is going to be targeting white supremacy.
00:25:00.000 And then listen to the way he describes white supremacy.
00:25:04.000 So I know looking forward that the members of the Biden team who have been nominated or have been appointed.
00:25:12.000 are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we've seen overseas, where they germinate in different parts of the country and they gain strength and it brings together an unholy alliance frequently of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.
00:25:38.000 So just to be clear, the way he cobbled together that group of people was religious extremists, authoritarians, fascist biggest racist nativists, even libertarians. 0.80
00:25:47.000 Libertarians! 0.89
00:25:48.000 Okay, so I have a feeling that you are using this term white supremacy to just mean anything I don't like, which makes perfect sense, by the way, because this is actually what Ibram Kendi, who's kind of the popularizer of all this nonsense, has said.
00:26:00.000 If you're a critical race theorist, like Ibram Kendi is, what you believe is that all of the structures of America are inherently white supremacist.
00:26:06.000 If you believe in the 1619 Project, You believe that America is inherently a white supremacist country.
00:26:11.000 And in order to fight white supremacy, you have to fight against all those structures.
00:26:14.000 And if you stand up for the structures, if you stand up for the Constitution or the Declaration, if you stand up for individual rights, those are all just the superstructure of white supremacy that must be defeated.
00:26:24.000 So when Joe Biden says that he wants to fight white supremacy, does he mean that he wants to go after, you know, the Richard Spencers of the world?
00:26:30.000 Does he mean that he wants to go after the Unite the Right rallies of the world?
00:26:35.000 Or does he mean that he just wants to go after everybody who believes in the Constitution of the United States and Declaration of Independence?
00:26:40.000 He's utterly unclear on this.
00:26:41.000 The rest of the left is not unclear.
00:26:42.000 This is why I say Joe Biden's presidency is going to be judged on whether he has the stones to actually stand up to his own side, which has broadened the definition of deplorable and awful out to include everyone who disagrees.
00:26:53.000 And then Joe Biden gets to his talk about unity.
00:26:56.000 So back to his inaugural address, he talks about unity.
00:26:59.000 And again, I wish that I had more faith that when he talks about unity, what he actually meant was unity of purpose in fighting things like COVID or unity of purpose in believing in the individual rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.
00:27:11.000 But his left does not believe that, not in the slightest.
00:27:14.000 So here is Joe Biden talking about unity.
00:27:17.000 To overcome these challenges, to restore the soul and secure the future of America requires so much more than words.
00:27:26.000 It requires the most elusive of all things in a democracy.
00:27:31.000 Unity.
00:27:33.000 Unity.
00:27:35.000 In another January, on New Year's Day in 1863, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
00:27:46.000 When he put pen to paper, the President said, and I quote, If my name ever goes down into history, it'll be for this act.
00:27:55.000 And my whole soul is in it.
00:27:59.000 My whole soul is in it.
00:28:01.000 Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this.
00:28:07.000 Bringing America together, uniting our people, uniting our nation.
00:28:13.000 And I ask every American to join me in this cause.
00:28:18.000 Okay, so, that all sounds really, really nice.
00:28:21.000 Right?
00:28:21.000 I mean, that sounds nice.
00:28:22.000 He asks all Americans to join him in the cause, and it's gonna be wonderful.
00:28:27.000 We're gonna have some unity.
00:28:29.000 Okay, but let me just point out that, once again, the unity that he is suggesting is a unity against.
00:28:34.000 Right?
00:28:34.000 It's not just unity for, in favor of individual rights.
00:28:36.000 He never says unity in favor of X. He just says unity.
00:28:39.000 And it's unity against people who are racist, nativist, fear demonization.
00:28:44.000 Okay, so how does he define those terms?
00:28:46.000 I don't know.
00:28:47.000 You don't know either.
00:28:48.000 That's kind of a problem.
00:28:50.000 Clarity is what provides agreement or disagreement.
00:28:54.000 Vagary provides dishonesty.
00:28:56.000 And this was either a wonderful unifying speech or highly dishonest, and we're gonna find out in very short order which one it was.
00:29:04.000 And if you say that I'm being a little bit cynical about his call for unity, that when he talks about unity, he really means it, that he understands that we can disagree, maybe you'll be right.
00:29:15.000 Maybe you'll be right.
00:29:16.000 But I think there's a little bit of a reason for the cynicism.
00:29:19.000 Okay, so here he continued along these lines.
00:29:21.000 He said, politics doesn't have to be a raging fire.
00:29:23.000 We can take the sting out of politics.
00:29:25.000 Again, I don't know if what he means by this is basically cool your passions because I'm in charge now, or I really wanna hear your opinions and we'll have a discussion.
00:29:32.000 Then we'll come to a mutually agreeable exchange of ideas and find a conclusion.
00:29:37.000 It's not clear to me which one of these he means.
00:29:40.000 I think I have a few indicators, which I'll get to in just a moment.
00:29:42.000 Here was Joe Biden yesterday.
00:29:43.000 I understand that many of my fellow Americans view the future with fear and trepidation.
00:29:52.000 But the answer is not to turn inward, to retreat into competing factions, distrusting those who don't look like you, or worship the way you do, or don't get their news from the same sources you do.
00:30:07.000 We must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue. 0.97
00:30:14.000 Rural versus urban.
00:30:18.000 Conservative versus liberal.
00:30:20.000 We can do this if we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts.
00:30:27.000 Sounds wonderful.
00:30:28.000 Now, flashback.
00:30:29.000 This is 2009, January 2009.
00:30:31.000 A young politician, an inspirational messianic figure named Barack Obama, takes office with an extraordinarily high approval rating.
00:30:39.000 And what does he do?
00:30:40.000 He immediately calls for unity, right?
00:30:41.000 I mean, we have to get some unity going here.
00:30:43.000 So here's Barack Obama in 2009 using exactly the same kind of terminology as Joe Biden.
00:30:49.000 On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear.
00:30:55.000 Unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
00:31:00.000 On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics.
00:31:11.000 Remember all the unity that broke out right after that when he started pushing enormous stimulus packages, a complete rewriting of the American healthcare system and identity politics?
00:31:18.000 Remember that?
00:31:19.000 So when people say unity, I'm gonna need some evidence that what you actually mean is real unity.
00:31:23.000 Like, the other Americans, they're not your enemies? 0.76
00:31:26.000 As opposed to, shut the hell up and obey.
00:31:30.000 Believe and obey also provides unity, just not the kind of unity that's actually going to solve the problems the country faces.
00:31:35.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second because the media were just gaga over this. 1.00
00:31:38.000 Not Lady Gaga, just gaga. 0.97
00:31:39.000 Just over the moon.
00:31:41.000 We'll get to this in one second.
00:31:41.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you need to save money this year.
00:31:44.000 Okay, the year is starting off on an economic low note for a lot of people.
00:31:47.000 You cannot afford to be spending all this money on a cell phone bill you don't have to pay.
00:31:52.000 Okay, well, when your family switches to Pure Talk USA from AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile, you could save over 800 bucks a year.
00:31:58.000 That is real money every single month right back in your pocket.
00:32:01.000 You don't have to sacrifice coverage.

00:32:22.000 When you do, you'll save 50% off your first month.
00:32:24.000 Dial pound 250, say keyword Ben Shapiro.
00:32:27.000 That's Pure Talk USA.
00:32:28.000 They are Simply Smarter Wireless.
00:32:30.000 Right now you're overpaying because you're paying for unlimited data that you're not using.
00:32:33.000 Why not get unlimited talk, text, and six gigs of data for 30 bucks a month?
00:32:36.000 And if you go over, they're not going to charge you for it.
00:32:38.000 Head on over to Pure Talk USA right now.
00:32:40.000 You'll save 50% off your first month when you dial pound 250 and say my name, Ben Shapiro.
00:32:44.000 That's Pure Talk USA.
00:32:46.000 Simply smarter wireless.
00:32:47.000 Okay, so the media, of course, were just drooling over this because they've been waiting for four long years for Donald Trump to go away.
00:32:55.000 And this was going to be the restoration.
00:32:56.000 Now, yes, it's the restoration of the pre-Trump era.
00:32:59.000 And the media have created this mythical, wonderful Obama era in the same way that JFK's administration was Camelot.
00:33:06.000 The Obama era was scandal free.
00:33:08.000 The only bad thing that ever happened is he wore a tan suit.
00:33:11.000 Everybody loved each other.
00:33:11.000 Sure, there were race riots in 2016 and cops got shot on the streets in Dallas.
00:33:15.000 And sure, we had the slowest economic recovery in a century.
00:33:17.000 But, you know, everything was fantastic under Obama.
00:33:19.000 And now we get to return to that magical time.
00:33:22.000 Chris Wallace.
00:33:23.000 He was just enamored of the speech.
00:33:24.000 He said, this is the best inaugural address I have ever heard.
00:33:28.000 Well, okay.
00:33:30.000 Say three lines of it.
00:33:32.000 Really, right now.
00:33:33.000 What was the most memorable part of that speech?
00:33:37.000 Here is Chris Wallace.
00:33:40.000 We must end this uncivil war, and the way we can do it is if we show each other a little tolerance and humility.
00:33:48.000 Martha, I thought it was a great speech.
00:33:51.000 I've been listening to these inaugural addresses since 1961.
00:33:55.000 John F. Kennedy, ask not.
00:33:57.000 I thought this was the best inaugural address I ever heard.
00:34:00.000 It was just wonderful, because he said, he said we have to end this uncivil war, and then he proceeded to sign a bunch of incredibly divisive executive orders into law, and Is he going to hold that left in check?
00:34:12.000 Barack Obama said exactly the same kind of stuff as Joe Biden did yesterday, okay?
00:34:16.000 It did not end with America coming together.
00:34:18.000 It ended with an extraordinarily more divided America, which by the way, resulted in the election of Donald Trump.
00:34:23.000 The rest of the media were even worse than Wallace.
00:34:25.000 So CNN's John King, he was like, oh my God, it's like a breath of fresh air.
00:34:29.000 Oh, we can all breathe again.
00:34:30.000 We can all go on vacation because they're just going to tell us the truth.
00:34:33.000 We're not going to have to monitor them. 0.95
00:34:35.000 We're not going to have this Trumpy crazy guy out there. 0.92
00:34:37.000 Oh, oh, it's just amazing. 0.97
00:34:39.000 It's like breathing fresh air.
00:34:41.000 Oh, John King.
00:34:43.000 President Bush is happy today to be there as a Republican.
00:34:46.000 Even Mitch McConnell, who was with President Trump for most of the last four years in recent days, has made it pretty clear he wants to shove President Trump to the sidelines if he can, to be part of the Republicans trying to do that.
00:35:02.000 There's a cleansing.
00:35:03.000 There's an air of cleansing about today.
00:35:05.000 There's an internal fight in the Republican Party about President Trump, soon-to-be former President Trump.
00:35:10.000 It's going to continue.
00:35:12.000 Okay, meanwhile, the New York Times headline.
00:35:13.000 Okay, headline this morning.
00:35:15.000 Whether or not related to the former president's absence, a bipartisan lightness seemed to prevail across the stage at President Joe Biden's inauguration.
00:35:22.000 Snow flurries gave way to sun.
00:35:25.000 That's actually a headline in the New York Times.
00:35:25.000 I'm not kidding.
00:35:27.000 Snow flurries gave way to sun.
00:35:28.000 You see, the universe itself was smiling on Joe Biden.
00:35:31.000 The weather itself reflected the joy felt by all, including God himself, at Joe Biden's ascension to power.
00:35:40.000 What a magical moment.
00:35:42.000 Oh, it's like Ralph Waldo Emerson speaking about how nature reflects us.
00:35:47.000 It's transcendental.
00:35:48.000 Oh, incredible.
00:35:50.000 Here's CNN's Vanjo saying that this was just it was medicine in the wounds.
00:35:54.000 He's going to bind us all.
00:35:55.000 It's going to be.
00:35:56.000 Oh, everything's healed, guys.
00:35:58.000 It's all over.
00:35:59.000 America fixed all your problems over.
00:36:03.000 By the way, yesterday was the single greatest covid death day.
00:36:06.000 He spoke from the depth of his soul, and we needed this.
00:36:09.000 That was beautiful.
00:36:10.000 But they're downplaying their expectations for vaccine distribution and all that.
00:36:13.000 But stop that.
00:36:14.000 It was amazeballs.
00:36:16.000 Everything is going to from here on in, it's just gravy city.
00:36:19.000 It's going to be unbelievable.
00:36:20.000 Here was Van Jones.
00:36:21.000 He spoke from the depth of his soul and we needed this.
00:36:26.000 That was beautiful.
00:36:27.000 You know, beauty heals. 1.00
00:36:28.000 Beauty heals.
00:36:29.000 A beautiful healing.
00:36:30.000 A beautiful healing.
00:36:31.000 There was not one part of that that wasn't just medicine in the wound.
00:36:36.000 And if you have any doubt that one person can make a difference, that one person's voice, one person's commitment, one person's bedrock faith can be the pivot point for a nation, just watch that speech again and look at how the country responds.
00:36:53.000 I mean, there's one man who can make a difference.
00:36:55.000 It is this geriatric old corrupt politician from Delaware who's going to bring us together. 0.62
00:36:59.000 Now listen, I hope he does. 0.95
00:37:01.000 I hope that what he means by unity is actual unity.
00:37:05.000 I have serious, serious doubts. 0.85
00:37:07.000 Again, the media coverage here is just astonishingly ridiculous.
00:37:10.000 So my favorite here is The tweets from the celebrities.
00:37:14.000 The tweets from the celebrities are always the best.
00:37:15.000 Because when I need a little bit of edification, I go to extraordinarily rich and famous people explaining to me why we need elites running our lives.
00:37:24.000 Oprah Winfrey tweeted out, decency and compassion restored.
00:37:27.000 Hallelujah!
00:37:28.000 President Joe Biden.
00:37:30.000 Yes, great.
00:37:31.000 I know, it was like the birth of my child, frankly, was watching this old doddering guy take office.
00:37:34.000 Today, I feel hopeful for the future of our nation.
00:37:36.000 frankly, was watching this old doddering guy take office.
00:37:39.000 While the division in our country is still painfully real, I'm optimistic this is a moment of recommitment to each other, a commitment to becoming a United States again.
00:37:46.000 Today, I feel hopeful for the future of our nation.
00:37:48.000 I'm sure you do.
00:37:50.000 Now, let me just say this.
00:37:51.000 If a Republican had taken office and then given that exact same speech, like a not-Trump Republican had taken office and given that exact same speech, they would not be saying any of this.
00:37:59.000 George W. Bush said that kind of stuff all the time.
00:38:01.000 Left hated him.
00:38:02.000 Jimmy Kimmel, who's just an activist masquerading as a comedian, said, Congratulations to our new President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris.
00:38:08.000 We know you will do your best to make America good again.
00:38:12.000 Wow.
00:38:14.000 It warms the cockles of your heart, doesn't it?
00:38:17.000 And then we've got Kerry Washington.
00:38:19.000 Again, all these are Democratic activists.
00:38:21.000 So much work to do, but today I want to celebrate and pray and revel in our tremendous power, even against all odds, to make history happen.
00:38:28.000 Yeah, that's the part they care about, right?
00:38:30.000 It's the tremendous power.
00:38:31.000 Unlimited power!
00:38:34.000 This one was my favorite, personally.
00:38:36.000 This is Mindy Kaling, an extraordinarily rich, famous, talented, and powerful woman tweeting out a picture of her daughter watching the inauguration of Kamala Harris and saying, it matters.
00:38:48.000 Happy inauguration.
00:38:48.000 You know what?
00:38:50.000 Honestly, until Mindy Kaling's daughter saw Kamala Harris become vice president, she'd never known that women could be powerful and rich, except for her mother, who's extremely powerful and rich. 1.00
00:39:01.000 I mean, she needed to see Kamala Harris on TV. 1.00
00:39:04.000 It was very, very important. 1.00
00:39:05.000 I hate this kind of crap. 1.00
00:39:06.000 I hate it with a passion. 1.00
00:39:09.000 Yeah, I've never said to my... I have two daughters.
00:39:12.000 I will never say to them, look at that politician.
00:39:14.000 Until you saw that politician, didn't you believe that you were limited?
00:39:17.000 But now you see... They never would have said that if Sarah Palin had been elected vice president in 2008, obviously.
00:39:24.000 Okay, so in a second, we are going to be getting to the unifying actions, right?
00:39:28.000 So it's the actions that matter.
00:39:30.000 The unifying actions of Joe Biden.
00:39:32.000 How unifying are they?
00:39:33.000 And the answer is, nope!
00:39:35.000 He is just a typical Democratic politician.
00:39:38.000 He's going to be incredibly divisive.
00:39:39.000 He's going to go too far on his policy.
00:39:42.000 And he'll try and suggest that his attitude makes up for all of it.
00:39:44.000 I hope that he has a better attitude than his predecessors, but you know what?
00:39:49.000 That ain't gonna make up for the fact that if you drive dramatically top-down policy, unity ain't in the offing.
00:39:54.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:39:56.000 First, let us talk about the underwear that grace your tuchus.

00:41:03.000 Oh, if you haven't heard about it yet, Daily Wire is in the entertainment game.

00:41:17.000 If you want to compete in the culture and help us compete in the culture, we need your help.
00:41:20.000 We need your membership.
00:41:21.000 We picked up Run Hyde Fight after Hollywood Studios turned it down because it was, quote unquote, distasteful.
00:41:26.000 Hollywood didn't like the film because it is not a leftist talking points film.
00:41:30.000 It wasn't pro-gun control, and it celebrates bravery.
00:41:32.000 Run, Hide, Fight follows a 17-year-old girl named Zoe who's just trying to get through the last days of high school when she has to face down a bunch of evil school shooters.
00:41:41.000 Reviewers are saying things like, while I found this film considerably less distasteful than I imagined I might going in, it's still being released by some despicable people.
00:41:48.000 The film's underlying themes are gross.
00:41:50.000 That said, more entertaining than one might assume.
00:41:52.000 That'd be Dominic Griffin.
00:41:53.000 Again, these are left-wing critics.
00:41:55.000 I'm Jessica King.
00:41:55.000 And she can.
00:41:57.000 At literally no point in this weirdly lumbering, sluggish movie's narrative does this grotesque tastelessness ever appear to have occurred to anyone involved.
00:42:04.000 The critics hate it.
00:42:05.000 They hate it.
00:42:07.000 So the critics despise the thing, but you love it.
00:42:10.000 Almost 2,000 new audience reviews have come in since they opened to comments.
00:42:13.000 The audience score is currently 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
00:42:15.000 You're the audience.
00:42:16.000 You're the people we care about.

00:42:23.000 Remember, you'll get 25% off when you use promo code RHF.
00:42:27.000 Go watch the movie.
00:42:27.000 If you like it, leave a review.
00:42:29.000 This is the largest, fastest growing, conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:42:33.000 So we were promised unity, right?
00:42:36.000 So, we were promised unity, right?
00:42:39.000 Well, the media who loves unity, right?
00:42:39.000 Unity.
00:42:41.000 They love it.
00:42:42.000 Into it.
00:42:42.000 Super into unity.
00:42:43.000 Want unity.
00:42:44.000 Because Joe Biden wants unity and we know it's going to be a very unifying time full of unity-ing.
00:42:48.000 Here's Nicole Wallace on MSNBC suggesting that Republicans should just be banned. 0.59
00:42:53.000 It would be my policy that a Republican must Assert the truth before they're allowed to share any other views.
00:43:02.000 And Lindsey Graham, I understand, appeared somewhere today and refused to really go far enough in beating down the lie.
00:43:10.000 If we can protect against counterfeit dollar bills, we should be able to protect against fake news that we now know has the potential to kill people as it did two weeks ago.
00:43:21.000 Oh, so we're going to crack down on fake news, are we?
00:43:23.000 Oh, that's unitying.
00:43:24.000 You see, there's a First Amendment here, but we need to crack down on fake news. 1.00
00:43:26.000 Then she brings on Ben Rhodes, who was a damned liar. 0.99
00:43:30.000 Ben Rhodes was the worst liar in an administration full of them. 1.00
00:43:33.000 Ben Rhodes. 0.82
00:43:35.000 The fiction writer made national security advisor to Barack Obama overtly admitted that he lied to an echo chamber of people about the Iran nuclear deal and use them as his propaganda tools.
00:43:47.000 And here he was explaining that in order to in order to protect national security, we have to detox lies and hate.
00:43:54.000 I mean, the gaslighting over the next four years is going to be so strong.
00:43:57.000 It's going to drive you up a wall.
00:43:58.000 That's why you should listen to this show, because we're going to remind you that you're not the crazy one. 0.99
00:44:03.000 Some of these folks are the crazy people. 0.99
00:44:04.000 Here is Ben Rhodes, again, absolute liar, awful human being, suggesting that national security must be upheld by, quote-unquote, detoxing the lies and hate. 1.00
00:44:14.000 This doesn't sound authoritarian at all. 0.98
00:44:17.000 There's a broader societal issue that it's going to take many years to detox the disinformation, the lies, the hate that has been spread.
00:44:25.000 A whole segment of the American population has been radicalized by what has happened over the last four years and by the fact that Donald Trump is no longer there.
00:44:34.000 They can no longer see Donald Trump representing their grievances in the highest office.
00:44:38.000 And so those grievances are going to go back underground.
00:44:41.000 And I think there's a lot of work to be done to deal with the broader societal issues that go beyond what even national security, homeland security professionals could do.
00:44:50.000 Amazing. 0.99
00:44:51.000 I mean, I need to hear about truth and lies from this schmuck. 0.99
00:44:55.000 Just need to hear about that all the time. 0.99
00:44:55.000 And perfect. 0.99
00:44:57.000 By the way, the media were very much in love with Jen Psaki. 0.80
00:44:59.000 Jen Psaki was a liar for the State Department under Obama. 1.00
00:45:02.000 She is now the chief liar as press secretary for Joe Biden, listen, I don't begrudge her the fact that she is a professional liar. 0.98
00:45:09.000 I mean, this is what press secretaries do. 1.00
00:45:11.000 Robert Gibbs is a liar. 1.00
00:45:12.000 Jay Carney was a liar. 0.99
00:45:14.000 The Bush administration press secretaries were actually fairly honest, but the Obama ones were certainly not. 0.98
00:45:19.000 They used to lie routinely.
00:45:21.000 Well now, she was obviously in Obama's State Department.
00:45:24.000 I mean, she literally admitted to lying to the media while she was in the State Department for Barack Obama.
00:45:29.000 Now, she is the White House Press Secretary for Joe Biden.
00:45:32.000 And she immediately just starts being asked softball questions. 0.92
00:45:36.000 The media are like, she's an amazing press secretary. 0.71
00:45:38.000 So, yesterday, in her first press conference, she was asked questions like this one.
00:45:44.000 Get ready for this hard-hitting reporting.
00:45:45.000 You ready?
00:45:45.000 Here we go.
00:45:47.000 Will he keep Donald Trump's Air Force One color scheme change?
00:45:51.000 This is such a good question.
00:45:52.000 I have not had the opportunity to dig into that today, given the number of executive actions, orders, the inauguration, a few things happening.
00:46:01.000 I will venture to get you an answer on that, and maybe we can talk about it in here tomorrow.
00:46:04.000 It is such a good question, guys.
00:46:06.000 Is he going to change the furniture arrangement in the Oval Office?
00:46:10.000 He did.
00:46:10.000 It was a big story.
00:46:12.000 He put up a bust of MLK, and he put up another one of Cesar Chavez.
00:46:14.000 By the way, opposed illegal immigration.
00:46:17.000 But, I mean, those are hard-hitting reporting right there.
00:46:20.000 By the way, the media put out stories today about how Jen Psaki's first press conference was filled with honesty.
00:46:25.000 She said two overtly false things in the middle of the press conference. 0.99
00:46:28.000 First, she suggested that Joe Biden was rolling back the so-called Muslim ban.
00:46:32.000 There is not a Muslim ban.
00:46:33.000 Muslims have been entering the United States throughout the Trump administration.
00:46:38.000 There is a ban on immigrants from particular countries, some of which were Muslim and some of which were not.
00:46:42.000 Okay, so that's an overt lie.
00:46:43.000 Overt lie number two, She's asked specifically about Joe Biden's position on the Hyde Amendment.
00:46:47.000 And she says, I don't have any information on that right now, but he's a Catholic and Catholics are pretty pro-life.
00:46:53.000 Thank you for not giving us an answer to anything there and the media just clapping like seals.
00:46:57.000 Get ready for this.
00:46:58.000 We're going to get years on end of this.
00:47:00.000 Years on end.
00:47:01.000 And remember.
00:47:03.000 Joe Biden, he is in favor of norms.
00:47:05.000 He doesn't violate norms in any way.
00:47:07.000 Well, one of his first moves is firing a labor arbiter.
00:47:11.000 OK, so this is according to the Washington Free Beacon.
00:47:13.000 Bill McMorris reporting.
00:47:14.000 President Joe Biden fired an independent federal labor regulator within hours of taking office on Wednesday, an unprecedented move that was cheered by labor unions.
00:47:21.000 Within minutes of his inauguration, Biden threatened to fire National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Peter Robb if he did not voluntarily resign his position as top prosecutor at the agency.
00:47:30.000 Rob, whose four-year term was set to expire in November, rebuked Biden's demand, saying it would undermine the independence of the agency and the enforcement of federal labor law.
00:47:38.000 It was my understanding the incoming administration intended to foster civility and unity in this country and in the governing of this country, promising to adhere to the rule of law and enabling its chief law enforcement officers the independence free from White House interference to enforce the laws of the United States, said Rob.
00:47:51.000 A presidential removal of the NLRB's general counsel prior to the expiration of his or her term violates these promises and principles.
00:47:59.000 Well, yeah, but it doesn't matter because, you see, Biden's doing it.
00:48:02.000 If Donald Trump came in and he fired a bunch of people like Preet Bharara, it was the end of the world.
00:48:07.000 End of the world.
00:48:07.000 Unprecedented.
00:48:08.000 Unbelievable.
00:48:09.000 Even though it is pretty precedented for presidents to come in and then clear out the DOJ.
00:48:15.000 But here you have a really unprecedented act.
00:48:17.000 You have an independent general counsel appointed by law to a term that ends in November, and he's being fired right off the bat.
00:48:24.000 Media can't be bothered with it.
00:48:25.000 Doesn't matter because unity is happening, guys.
00:48:27.000 Unity is breaking out all over, just all over the place.
00:48:30.000 Insane levels of unity.
00:48:33.000 Great, great stuff.
00:48:35.000 Okay, so in just a second, I want to get to some of Joe Biden's initial actions because the unity is not there, okay?
00:48:42.000 For a guy who's pushing unity, let's talk about Joe Biden's first day executive actions.
00:48:48.000 He has a bunch of them.
00:48:49.000 There were 17 executive moves that Joe Biden made just hours after his inauguration.
00:48:54.000 Some of these were relatively uncontroversial.
00:48:57.000 Some of them were memos and directives to agencies.
00:48:59.000 He said, I'm going to start by keeping the promises I made to the American people.
00:49:02.000 What were those promises?
00:49:03.000 Well, he halted all funding for the construction of the border wall.
00:49:06.000 He reversed the travel ban targeting largely Muslim countries.
00:49:10.000 Okay, largely Muslim means some are Muslim and some are not.
00:49:13.000 So presumably we're now going to just start bringing in people from countries where we actually can't verify who these folks are.
00:49:18.000 And then, of course, he rejoined the WHO, which is a Chinese cat's paw. 0.96
00:49:23.000 He also imposed a mask mandate on federal property, which is exciting. 0.84
00:49:27.000 He then proceeded to violate that mask mandate by going onto federal property without a mask.
00:49:30.000 So that was pretty cool.
00:49:32.000 I enjoyed that a lot.
00:49:34.000 Other things that he did right off the bat.
00:49:37.000 Well, let's see.
00:49:39.000 First of all, he has a bunch of themed days.
00:49:41.000 It's super exciting.
00:49:41.000 He has a bunch of themed days.
00:49:42.000 We'll get to those in a second, over the next few days.
00:49:44.000 I need themes.
00:49:45.000 Like, frankly, I loved infrastructure week so much that I need, like, infrastructure day, equity day.
00:49:49.000 We're gonna get all of those.
00:49:51.000 So what exactly are the executive orders?
00:49:55.000 So according to CNN, there were 17 of them.
00:49:59.000 Nine of them were directly reversing things that Donald Trump had done.
00:50:04.000 He extended an existing nationwide moratorium on evictions and foreclosures.
00:50:08.000 He extended the pause on student loan payments, all of which is fine for the moment.
00:50:11.000 He rejoined the Paris Climate Accord, which should be a treaty and should be submitted to the Senate as a treaty, but Captain Constitution over here, he's perfectly happy with joining all of these non-binding agreements and pretending that they are not in fact treaties.
00:50:22.000 He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, which even pissed off Justin Trudeau, right?
00:50:27.000 Handsome Bernie up north, he was like, this is really bad.
00:50:30.000 Like, that's a good way for us to remain competitive on the world market.
00:50:34.000 Also, he rescinded the Trump administration's 1776 commission and directed agencies to review their actions to ensure racial equity.
00:50:40.000 Oh, goody, goody, gumdrops.
00:50:42.000 Remember that big fight we had this year over whether critical race theory should be taught inside America's government?
00:50:48.000 Well, now it's going to be.
00:50:49.000 They're going to just go right back to teaching 1619 propaganda about how America's evil and terrible and white supremacist and how the only way to fight white supremacy is by changing the structure of the system and how government is the only body capable of changing those underlying evil structures.
00:51:03.000 He's going to do that.
00:51:05.000 He also signed an executive order preventing workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, so that'll be exciting, as he applies that to all sorts of federal contractors who wish to uphold their own religious and or factual values, by the way.
00:51:18.000 When you're talking about basically mandating that all sorts of government-sponsored or government-funded agencies now have to go along with radical gender ideology.
00:51:29.000 You know what that means, by the way?
00:51:31.000 So Abigail Schreier points out, on day one, Biden unilaterally eviscerates women's sports. 1.00
00:51:35.000 Any educational institution that receives federal funding must admit biologically male athletes to women's team, women's scholarships, et cetera.
00:51:43.000 A new glass ceiling was just placed over girls. 0.99
00:51:45.000 So that sounds unifying to me, right, is that we are now going to be essentially forcing all sorts of women's-only groups to allow in men who believe they are women, including in sports.
00:51:57.000 He's going to change the census, requiring non-citizens to be included in the census and apportionment of congressional representatives.
00:52:02.000 Of course he wants to do this.
00:52:03.000 So the idea here is you're going to maximize the number of illegal immigrants who enter the United States, then you're going to count them in the census, and they are all going to centralize, because they tend to, in heavily blue areas where benefits are given, and then we're just going to apportion more congressional seats on the basis of people who can't legally vote because they're not in the country legally. 0.63
00:52:19.000 So that is a thing that he is doing.
00:52:21.000 He is also going to be Undoing Trump's expansion of immigration enforcement within the United States.
00:52:26.000 We're going to stop enforcing the law on immigration. 0.89
00:52:29.000 He's also going to direct the OMB director to develop recommendations to modernize the regulatory review and undoing Trump's regulatory approval process.
00:52:37.000 He's going to make it easier to issue recommended regulatory restrictions.
00:52:42.000 So all of this sounds super unifying to me, does it not?
00:52:44.000 I mean, this is really, really unifying stuff.
00:52:47.000 Very exciting.
00:52:48.000 In other news, Joe Biden has announced that they are worried that the virus is spinning out of control.
00:52:53.000 So remember, five minutes ago, before he was president of the United States, it was, I'm going to come in here and I'm going to quash the virus.
00:52:58.000 Remember, he says, I'm not going to crush you.
00:53:00.000 I'm not going to crush the economy.
00:53:01.000 I'm going to crush the virus.
00:53:03.000 So that was out the window in literally the first five minutes of the administration.
00:53:06.000 According to Bloomberg, President Joe Biden's team is increasingly worried the coronavirus pandemic is spiraling out of control, imperiling his promise to contain the outbreak.
00:53:13.000 As cases and deaths mount, vaccinations lag, and a more transmissible strain emerges in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter.
00:53:18.000 Love how the media is just lowering expectations for sleepy old Joe here.
00:53:22.000 That's great.
00:53:23.000 As they learn more about the federal response to the pandemic, Biden's transition team grew alarmed at a lack of coordination with states.
00:53:28.000 The people said, oh, we're going to just blame it on the guy before.
00:53:32.000 What a novel strategy.
00:53:33.000 I've never heard anything like it.
00:53:34.000 it. Biden himself has warned of a dark winter and has flatly said the pandemic will worsen before it improves. The stakes are escalating. U.S.
00:53:41.000 hospitalizations are at near record levels.
00:53:43.000 Of course, the Washington Post, by the way, they have an excellent newsletter they put out called the Health 202. Paige Cunningham writes it.
00:53:52.000 And here is their headline today.
00:53:59.000 By this, Page Cunningham presumably means that he's not actually going to do all that much that is different from what is actually being done. His aim, 100 million shots administered in the next 100 days, would require a roughly 25% ramp up from the current daily rate, which is hovering about 800,000 shots administered each day. That daily rate achieved in the final days of the Trump administration has remained flat over the past few days, but has more than doubled what it was two weeks ago. So we've doubled it in two weeks, and Biden's going to be like, well, you know what, we'll shoot slightly higher than that, and then that's about it.
00:54:27.000 Biden seems to be taking an under-promise and over-deliver approach, after his predecessor repeatedly made unrealistic promises about immunizations that did not transpire.
00:54:35.000 At least, Paige Cunningham is reporting that honestly.
00:54:37.000 That's pretty obviously what they're doing here.
00:54:39.000 They're putting together a plan that supposedly does not actually help things all that much, and then they're gonna claim when they exceed the plan, look how wonderful we are.
00:54:46.000 Typical political thing, and not rare.
00:54:50.000 Doesn't matter.
00:54:51.000 Biden's team is saying it's so ambitious.
00:54:53.000 Jeffrey Zients, White House Pandemic Response Coordinator, says it's at a much faster pace than the current pace.
00:54:57.000 So much faster.
00:54:58.000 He says it's just the start.
00:55:00.000 We believe the comprehensive strategy we've outlined will get the job done.
00:55:04.000 Yeah, I'm sure.
00:55:06.000 I'm sure.
00:55:07.000 OK, so meanwhile, by the way, Amazon, if you believe that corporate America is not in the tank for the Democrats, they are so in the tank for the Democrats.
00:55:14.000 It's insane how in the tank for the Democrats they are.
00:55:16.000 So remember how like one week after the election took place?
00:55:20.000 Remember, like one week later, Pfizer was like, hey, guess what?
00:55:22.000 We have a working vaccine.
00:55:23.000 And remember, How literally three weeks before, they knew they had a working vaccine and then they just didn't announce it.
00:55:29.000 That was fun.
00:55:30.000 Well now, Amazon, literally the day that Biden takes office, Amazon goes to Joe Biden, they're like, you know what?
00:55:35.000 We can help you deliver vaccine.
00:55:36.000 You know what would've been helpful, Amazon?
00:55:38.000 Considering how much money you have made off of this pandemic and the fact that everybody, and I'm a big Amazon fan, right?
00:55:42.000 I use Amazon, I'm an original Amazon Prime member.
00:55:45.000 You know what would have been really helpful, as people were dying of COVID over the last couple of months, and we've been having vaccine distribution problems?
00:55:50.000 If you had come around, say, right after the approval of the vaccines, and said to the Trump administration, which was already outgoing, it was after the election, hey guys, we would love to help distribute the vaccine.
00:56:02.000 But you didn't.
00:56:03.000 Instead, you waited till literally the day that Joe Biden took office, and magically, just day of days, it's incredible, truly incredible.
00:56:09.000 Today, Amazon has now offered its help.
00:56:13.000 According to NBC News, Amazon has extended an offer to President Joe Biden to assist with the national distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, a move that could expedite the federal effort to combat the pandemic.
00:56:22.000 Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon's consumer business, one of the company's highest-ranking executives, sent a letter to the president shortly after he was sworn in Wednesday.
00:56:30.000 He said, as you begin your work leading the country out of the COVID-19 crisis, Amazon stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration.
00:56:40.000 We are prepared to leverage our operations, IT and communications capabilities and expertise to assist your administration's vaccination efforts.
00:56:47.000 Our scale allows us to make a meaningful impact immediately in the fight against COVID-19.
00:56:51.000 We stand ready to assist you in this effort. 0.97
00:56:54.000 Well, you know what would have been really great is if you had not been politically driven jerks and actually done that, you know, like before Biden took office. 0.97
00:57:02.000 That'd been really solid stuff. 0.97
00:57:04.000 I'm sensing all of the unification and the coming together right here.
00:57:06.000 I mean, honestly, it's very, very strong.
00:57:08.000 Speaking of which, Joe Biden's immigration priorities are very much open and they are transformational.
00:57:14.000 Byron York has a piece of the Washington Examiner talking about it.
00:57:17.000 He says, the new Biden administration says it must act quickly with a flurry of executive orders because the nation is experiencing not one, not two, not three, but four crises.
00:57:25.000 So, President Biden should undo much of what Trump did as quickly as possible.
00:57:29.000 Of Biden's 17 actions, three dealt with coronavirus, two dealt with the economy, two dealt with climate, two with racial equity, one with the census, one with ethics, one with regulation, and five with immigration.
00:57:38.000 Five with immigration. 1.00
00:57:39.000 So it is pretty clear the top priority here is immigration.
00:57:43.000 It is perhaps the top issue for the Democratic base, says Byron York, from grassroots organizers to big tech billionaires, and so it is the top issue for the new Democratic president.
00:57:51.000 During the Democratic presidential primary debate, Biden refused to advocate a deportation freeze, instead defending the Obama administration's deportation policy, but he came under heavy pressure from Hispanic activist groups and then changed his position.
00:58:03.000 He said in a March 2020 debate, the first 100 days of my administration, no one, no one will be deported at all.
00:58:10.000 So, the current process has now stopped coal.
00:58:13.000 Apparently, Biden's order says the U.S.
00:58:15.000 can deport an illegal immigrant if there's a written finding by the director of ICE that the immigrant had engaged in or is suspected of terrorism or espionage or poses a danger to the national security of the United States.
00:58:26.000 And ICE can deport people who have arrived in the United States since November 1st, which means the election.
00:58:32.000 But those are options, and Biden doesn't have to exercise them.
00:58:34.000 And again, he has promised he's not going to deport anyone in the first 100 days.
00:58:38.000 So all of this is, I think, greatly unifying.
00:58:40.000 You can feel the unity breaking out all over.
00:58:42.000 This is not gonna be just Biden exercising power from the executive branch in defiance of a constitutional mandate.
00:58:48.000 It is not Joe Biden just ignoring one half of the country to push forward a bunch of lefty causes to the clapping seal claps of the media.
00:58:56.000 It's not gonna be any of that.
00:58:56.000 It's gonna be unity, guys.
00:58:57.000 It's gonna be discussion and unity and wonder.
00:59:00.000 Can you feel all of it breaking out?
00:59:01.000 Can you feel all of it breaking out right now?
00:59:03.000 Oh, you can't?
00:59:04.000 Because you think that it's mainly a bunch of pablum and talk?
00:59:08.000 Yeah, I'm getting that indicator, too.
00:59:10.000 I'm getting that indicator, too.
